- 1:34Speaker 4: Good day to all of you. My name is Malaysia
- 1:37Speaker 4: heral and I am a newly minted veteran. I am
- 1:42Speaker 4: a spiritual transformation coach and author and a keynote speaker
- 1:49Speaker 4: along with a you know, doing coaching and being a
- 1:54Speaker 4: business owner for holistic wellness services called Blissful Life Consulting.
- 1:59Speaker 4: So again, I'm just so honored for this opportunity today.
- 2:03Speaker 2: Absolutely, well, thank you for joining us. We don't dive
- 2:06Speaker 2: right in. We talk about life, love and all the
- 2:09Speaker 2: other stuff. Right, so we are to jumping a little
- 2:12Speaker 2: bit about life now. I know you just mentioned that
- 2:15Speaker 2: you were into holistic wellness. Yes, let's speak a little
- 2:19Speaker 2: bit about that, because I love that. I love that.
- 2:21Speaker 2: I really don't like taking medications and things like that,
- 2:24Speaker 2: So if I'm able to do it naturally holistically, I'm
- 2:27Speaker 2: all for that. So what what do you believe we
- 2:33Speaker 2: as a people, because this platform is for us by us,
- 2:38Speaker 2: need to do to make sure that we are not
- 2:40Speaker 2: just taking the word of the doctors and taking all
- 2:42Speaker 2: of this medication, but doing something that we can benefit
- 2:46Speaker 2: from in our wellness.
- 2:48Speaker 4: Yeah, that is such an excellent question because the biggest
- 2:53Speaker 4: thing that we have been given as a gift is intuition, right,
- 3:00Speaker 4: and so you know, we can look at all the
- 3:03Speaker 4: things that are available, we can listen to everything that
- 3:06Speaker 4: everyone is telling us. But we've all been in a
- 3:10Speaker 4: situation where we've gone to a professional, whether it was
- 3:14Speaker 4: a medical professional, or something with your car, something with
- 3:18Speaker 4: your whatever it was, or a job, you know, and
- 3:21Speaker 4: somebody told you something, but your spirit was like, no,
- 3:26Speaker 4: I think there's more to it, right, And so you
- 3:29Speaker 4: know about your body and your health, even though you
- 3:34Speaker 4: may not want to consciously admit it, but intuitively you know.
- 3:40Speaker 4: So you notice it's like, oh, I get headaches all
- 3:43Speaker 4: the time or this or that, and it's like, no,
- 3:46Speaker 4: but this time is different. This time I can't really
- 3:50Speaker 4: pinpoint it, but my spirit is telling me that something
- 3:53Speaker 4: is different. So I think the biggest thing is honoring
- 3:58Speaker 4: those spiritual gifts that we do have. We talked about,
- 4:01Speaker 4: you know, your this platform is talks a lot about spirituality,
- 4:05Speaker 4: but honoring that If you feel like something is different
- 4:09Speaker 4: or not, you know, just just not the way you
- 4:14Speaker 4: think it should be, or it's not in alignment with
- 4:16Speaker 4: what your spiritual sense is telling you, then you know,
- 4:20Speaker 4: get a second opinion. And also, you know, so I'm
- 4:25Speaker 4: a bit very big on spiritual transformation, and we'll talk
- 4:28Speaker 4: about my story. So I think that also the biggest
- 4:33Speaker 4: thing is knowing that no matter what resources are available, no,
- 4:37Speaker 4: they're there to treat these symptoms and they are not
- 4:41Speaker 4: there to heal you. So even if you're working with
- 4:45Speaker 4: your team, there needs to be some sort of synergy
- 4:49Speaker 4: and there need to be a collaborative effort. So if
- 4:53Speaker 4: they're giving it, you know, if you have something very serious,
- 4:56Speaker 4: obviously you're gonna need something to take care of it,
- 4:59Speaker 4: to get it out of your b But what are
- 5:01Speaker 4: you doing on the other side of that to compliment what?
- 5:05Speaker 4: So for instance, you know, I had a near death
- 5:08Speaker 4: experience several years ago in twenty twenty after deployment, and
- 5:12Speaker 4: I had a septic hip. Now, the hospital tried to
- 5:15Speaker 4: send me home because they didn't believe me. They sent
- 5:18Speaker 4: them a psychiatrist, but my spirit told me that I
- 5:21Speaker 4: was transitioning, I was having a near death experience, and
- 5:25Speaker 4: I had to advocate for myself. But in saying that,
- 5:28Speaker 4: guess what, there weren't a lot of healthy options at
- 5:32Speaker 4: the hospital. So I mean, you could get a salad.
- 5:35Speaker 4: Nobody's eating salad all day, and you think you're dying anyway,
- 5:39Speaker 4: You're like, this isn't gonna be my last meal, you
- 5:42Speaker 4: know what I mean? And so I mean they have
- 5:44Speaker 4: a cup day mostly of pizzas, burgers, fries. That's mostly
- 5:48Speaker 4: what you're getting. You may get some jello, you may.
- 5:51Speaker 4: So I worked with my husband. I made some phone
- 5:55Speaker 4: calls to a actually I ended up meeting a health coach,
- 6:00Speaker 4: but I called and ordered some juice. So they made
- 6:03Speaker 4: some blended juice blends for me that were specifically gonna
- 6:08Speaker 4: address my issues, and my husband picked them up and
- 6:11Speaker 4: bring them to me. So again, it is a collaborative effort.
- 6:15Speaker 4: What is your mind thinking about, what is your spirit
- 6:17Speaker 4: thinking about? Are who are the people around you that
- 6:20Speaker 4: are telling you these things? So if people are saying, oh,
- 6:24Speaker 4: you got this diagnosis, well, Aunt Susie died of that,
- 6:27Speaker 4: you know what I mean? Like, no, No, you need
- 6:30Speaker 4: people around you who are gonna give you that confirmation,
- 6:34Speaker 4: that healing, that prayer that says that you know, we
- 6:38Speaker 4: can be healed and we can heal ourselves and you can.
- 6:42Speaker 2: Absolutely. I'm glad that you say that about juicing because
- 6:45Speaker 2: I started juicing like maybe four years ago, and it
- 6:50Speaker 2: took me down the best healing journey of your life.
- 6:55Speaker 2: I had to go back to my inner child, and
- 7:00Speaker 2: I realized that I was holding on to pain that
- 7:03Speaker 2: I shouldn't have been holding on to. I thought that
- 7:05Speaker 2: when my paternal grandmother passed that she took all the
- 7:09Speaker 2: love that I was supposed to have with her. And
- 7:12Speaker 2: so when I went back to that childhood, I realized
- 7:16Speaker 2: that wherever my mind took me, that five year old
- 7:19Speaker 2: Kiki took me. I allowed myself to be open and
- 7:22Speaker 2: free and see those things that she was telling them.
- 7:25Speaker 2: And I realized that everybody in my life was giving
- 7:27Speaker 2: me love. So when my grandmother passed, I wasn't just
- 7:31Speaker 2: left out there thinking that I wasn't worthy or whatever.
- 7:34Speaker 2: So yes, at juicing and having this spiritual intuition and
- 7:39Speaker 2: a prayer life and a personal relationship with God. Absolutely
- 7:43Speaker 2: surrounding yourself with people who who see you and hear you,
- 7:48Speaker 2: that makes a big difference, especially when it yes when
- 7:52Speaker 2: it comes to like healing. Because I was diagnosed two
- 7:56Speaker 2: years ago with stage three kidney disease. I went in
- 8:01Speaker 2: a couple of months ago for my my you know,
- 8:03Speaker 2: regular check up or whatever, and my spiritual mom and
- 8:06Speaker 2: I prayed and she was like, it's already done. You
- 8:09Speaker 2: just have to believe that that mountain is done. So
- 8:11Speaker 2: all of my numbers came back.
- 8:13Speaker 4: Great, Amen, and you do you you did something about it, right.
- 8:17Speaker 4: You didn't say, Okay, I'm just gonna pray and God's
- 8:20Speaker 4: just gonna send a prayer.
- 8:22Speaker 2: No, no, no, had to make change.
- 8:24Speaker 4: God is gonna give you the tools, but you that's
- 8:27Speaker 4: gonna do it. God's going, oh, I'm just gonna pray
- 8:30Speaker 4: and I'm gonna be No. You did what you needed
- 8:33Speaker 4: to do, and God, you listen to God to hear
- 8:36Speaker 4: what it is you should do. Because everybody's different. And
- 8:40Speaker 4: so if one person is juicing, one person is doing
- 8:43Speaker 4: more of a plant base. But some people may need
- 8:47Speaker 4: meet for certain things. Go with what God is telling
- 8:50Speaker 4: you because everybody's prescription is different.
- 8:53Speaker 2: Oh, everybody's prescription is different. I actually started eating for
- 8:56Speaker 2: my blood type and I know.
- 8:58Speaker 4: Yeah, and I know eat me.
- 9:00Speaker 2: I don't miss it. And I'm thankful because had I
- 9:04Speaker 2: had you know how you like you was just talking about,
- 9:07Speaker 2: you have to tap into yourself and realize that something
- 9:11Speaker 2: is not wrong. So every time I'm eating this chicken,
- 9:14Speaker 2: my stomach starts to hurt and blow and I feel horrible.
- 9:18Speaker 2: I keep putting this inside myself.
- 9:21Speaker 4: Absolutely, I love it. I love it.
- 9:24Speaker 2: It's a sacrifice, but it's the best sacrifice I've made
- 9:26Speaker 2: in my life. So yeah, I could for you, and
- 9:31Speaker 2: I'm glad that you're talking about this. So let's talk
- 9:33Speaker 2: about Less for Life consultant. How did that come about?
- 9:38Speaker 4: Well, in twenty seventeen, I actually founded the company. You
- 9:42Speaker 4: know again, I'm this was before you know, I made
- 9:47Speaker 4: my highest rank for active duty service, and it was like, well,
- 9:52Speaker 4: you know, I was trying to figure out like what
- 9:54Speaker 4: my life was going to be. And also, you know,
- 9:58Speaker 4: I've been doing mental health. I'm a say therapists, so
- 10:01Speaker 4: I've been doing mental health therapy for a long time.
- 10:04Speaker 4: And what I found was that when people only did
- 10:09Speaker 4: talk therapy and they only were tapping into the conscious
- 10:14Speaker 4: level because you talked about your inner child, that's it.
- 10:18Speaker 4: That's There are things that have happened, probably even in
- 10:22Speaker 4: your DNA before you were born, that came from your
- 10:26Speaker 4: family and their DNA that really put you on this
- 10:30Speaker 4: potential cycle depending on how you live your lifestyle, and
- 10:35Speaker 4: so as you grew there were things that were ingrained
- 10:38Speaker 4: in you, different things we might not be aware of
- 10:40Speaker 4: them might be some traumas we're holding on too. And
- 10:44Speaker 4: there's a book that that's called The Body Keeps the Score,
- 10:48Speaker 4: and I think that's a very it's not a like
- 10:51Speaker 4: a fun read. And I actually went to the gentleman Vanderkoff.
- 10:56Speaker 4: I think I went to his seminar as well. Ok So,
- 11:00Speaker 4: our bodies are a mechanism that tell us, you know,
- 11:05Speaker 4: what is intrinsically going on, but it's really also in
- 11:09Speaker 4: the spiritual and the subconscious level. And so again you
- 11:13Speaker 4: might be doing talk therapy, which I was doing with
- 11:16Speaker 4: my clients with mostly active duty members, you know, and
- 11:19Speaker 4: their family veterans, and they would keep coming back with
- 11:23Speaker 4: the same things. So it would be like, Okay, I
- 11:26Speaker 4: got this supervisor from h you know what I mean,
- 11:29Speaker 4: Like they're putting me through the dirt. And then you
- 11:32Speaker 4: move jobs and you have the same interaction, or you're
- 11:36Speaker 4: in a relationship with a partner and you getting another
- 11:40Speaker 4: one the same. It's like you're on this this wheel,
- 11:43Speaker 4: you know what I mean, You're like on this Gerbil
- 11:45Speaker 4: wheel and you're just like running in place. And it's
- 11:48Speaker 4: because there are things, there are subconscious issues that have
- 11:53Speaker 4: not been resolved and they could be when you think
- 11:56Speaker 4: about subconscious level, you think about how that ingrains in
- 12:00Speaker 4: your DNA, how it ingrains in your body, because that's
- 12:03Speaker 4: what's responding to all of it. And so if you
- 12:07Speaker 4: I realized, Okay, what can we do to really look
- 12:10Speaker 4: at this on a more holistic level. And so and
- 12:14Speaker 4: also the military was going towards that, they were starting
- 12:17Speaker 4: to introduce meditation, they were starting to introduce so I
- 12:20Speaker 4: was like, you know what, I want to look at
- 12:22Speaker 4: someone more holistically, you know, and so we did, you know,
- 12:27Speaker 4: ask about nutrition, We asked about all those things from
- 12:30Speaker 4: the biosycle social perspective, but it's more to it. It's
- 12:34Speaker 4: a lot more to it. And so because again it's everything.
- 12:38Speaker 4: It's what you're watching, it's who you're with, it's the
- 12:41Speaker 4: energy that you surround yourself with. So sometimes we keep
- 12:45Speaker 4: ourselves in environments that we know we shouldn't be in.
- 12:47Speaker 4: But it's like I'm going to prove a point because
- 12:50Speaker 4: I'm you know, I deserve it and I have the qualifications.
- 12:53Speaker 4: But so you're fighting it, but it's not in alignment
- 12:56Speaker 4: with your divine assignment. And so that's what kind of
- 13:00Speaker 4: got me to thinking about it. So I established it
- 13:02Speaker 4: in twenty seventeen and I was still active duty, so
- 13:06Speaker 4: I didn't do a whole lot with it. You know,
- 13:08Speaker 4: we did workshops, we did vision board parties. I believe
- 13:12Speaker 4: really highly in the power of manifestation, and so then
- 13:17Speaker 4: it wasn't until you know, twenty twenty when I had
- 13:20Speaker 4: my near death experience. Also, I launched a fragrance line
- 13:25Speaker 4: or company in twenty nineteen, So this was all before COVID,
- 13:28Speaker 4: and then when COVID came, you know, everything changed. And
- 13:31Speaker 4: then I had my near death experience and I had
- 13:34Speaker 4: to claw my way out of darkness. You know, two
- 13:40Speaker 4: hundred and fifty four pounds oral chemo, pregnant zone, you know,
- 13:44Speaker 4: doctors treating you like gaslighting it, you know, just different
- 13:52Speaker 4: you know, and competencies, you know when it comes to
- 13:55Speaker 4: cultural medical, you know, administration. And so I said, you
- 14:00Speaker 4: know what, maybe I was exposed to the holistic wellness
- 14:05Speaker 4: for a purpose. Maybe it wasn't just for other people. Maybe,
- 14:09Speaker 4: you know, God, the universe knew that something might have
- 14:13Speaker 4: come and I needed it, and so that's what I
- 14:16Speaker 4: tapped into. I tapped into it for myself and when
- 14:19Speaker 4: I had to ultimately retire, earlier than anticipated. I was
- 14:23Speaker 4: going to do, you know, thirty years, you know, maybe
- 14:25Speaker 4: go for a hot even higher rank, and God, you know,
- 14:29Speaker 4: the plans were just different. The plans were different from
- 14:31Speaker 4: my life, which I see that now, but I was
- 14:34Speaker 4: fighting God and so now it's a calling. Before it
- 14:40Speaker 4: was like, well, let me see, this is what I
- 14:41Speaker 4: really want to help people. But now when you go
- 14:45Speaker 4: through that fire, you know, and when you come out victorious,
- 14:50Speaker 4: you're like, Okay, I think I why did I go
- 14:53Speaker 4: through that? I think that was for a reason. So
- 14:56Speaker 4: now we're doing it to help others for real. Right,
- 15:00Speaker 4: It's just a calling. So that's that's really how it
- 15:03Speaker 4: got started.
- 15:04Speaker 2: I love that we just said something that gave me
- 15:07Speaker 2: to a stop fighting God. Let's talk about that for
- 15:12Speaker 2: a minute, because it needs to hear a little bit
- 15:15Speaker 2: more about that. Because I haven't been there. I have
- 15:18Speaker 2: fault God, especially with what I thought my purpose was
- 15:22Speaker 2: supposed to be. I ran for the longest time, and
- 15:26Speaker 2: then I'm so glad that even in my running and
- 15:29Speaker 2: got into my mess and allowing other people the wrong
- 15:32Speaker 2: people to love on me, I knew that God was
- 15:34Speaker 2: always there present, and yeah, we just have to we
- 15:40Speaker 2: have to stop fighting God. So let's talk about that,
- 15:42Speaker 2: the importance when it comes to your life and fulfilling
- 15:45Speaker 2: and tapping into your purpose, the importance of stop fighting God.
- 15:50Speaker 4: Yes, I will say, you know, through my whole experience
- 15:55Speaker 4: what I've been through the past four years with fighting God,
- 15:59Speaker 4: the biggest message that I got, and I think a
- 16:01Speaker 4: lot of other people within this timeframe, after before and
- 16:05Speaker 4: after COVID was the art of surrender. And I actually
- 16:08Speaker 4: got that tattooed on my arm, the art of surrender.
- 16:13Speaker 4: You know, we some people, including myself, have grown up
- 16:19Speaker 4: in situations where they said that's not gonna be me
- 16:24Speaker 4: when I grow up. I'm changing my circumstances. I'm gonna
- 16:27Speaker 4: do everything if I have to work three jobs, you know,
- 16:32Speaker 4: if I have to, you know, protect my heart and
- 16:36Speaker 4: protect myself from people who like the people who hurt
- 16:40Speaker 4: me as a child.
- 16:41Speaker 2: You know.
- 16:41Speaker 4: So you spend you spend this life with this mask
- 16:45Speaker 4: on and with this armor, and not necessarily the armor
- 16:49Speaker 4: of God, but like this, this protection, and that says
- 16:53Speaker 4: I'm going these are the check marks of the things
- 16:55Speaker 4: that I need to do to make sure that I'm
- 16:58Speaker 4: gonna do everything that I said I was gonna do
- 17:01Speaker 4: and I may even reach back to help the people
- 17:04Speaker 4: who've helped me, or help other disenfranchised people, you know,
- 17:09Speaker 4: to make sure that they're not in this situation. And
- 17:12Speaker 4: so because you feel like that calling is so big,
- 17:18Speaker 4: you're you're locked in this is this is my calling,
- 17:22Speaker 4: this is what But sometimes we're so because it's really
- 17:26Speaker 4: a matter of protecting ourselves. It's a defense mechanism. We
- 17:31Speaker 4: don't even know what our calling is at this point
- 17:33Speaker 4: because it's like, I'm not going back there. I'm not
- 17:37Speaker 4: gonna be that. And guess what where energy goes. Energy
- 17:43Speaker 4: flows there, right, You're gonna get more of it. So
- 17:46Speaker 4: when you say I'm gonna avoid that, you're gonna get
- 17:49Speaker 4: more of it. I'm gonna avoid men like this that
- 17:52Speaker 4: was like my dad, or like my abusive cousin or uncle.
- 17:56Speaker 4: You attract more of that because you're fighting it. And
- 18:01Speaker 4: so God says, well, let me align you and assign
- 18:05Speaker 4: you and give you help you figure out what your
- 18:07Speaker 4: assignment is. That's in alignment with what I the calling
- 18:10Speaker 4: and the gifts that I have on your life. Because
- 18:13Speaker 4: when you utilize the gifts that God gave you, your
- 18:17Speaker 4: gifts will make room for you baby, like nobody can
- 18:21Speaker 4: touch it. Nobody, no matter the challenges you go to,
- 18:24Speaker 4: nobody can stop that. But when it's not necessarily your
- 18:29Speaker 4: true divine calling, cause again we're checking off the box.
- 18:33Speaker 4: I'm gonna work myself to death. I'm gonna do this.
- 18:37Speaker 4: And so that's where I had to step back, because
- 18:39Speaker 4: it was like, no, I did all these years in
- 18:42Speaker 4: active duty, You not retire me before twenty years. I'm fighting,
- 18:47Speaker 4: and all along my health is getting worse and worse
- 18:51Speaker 4: and worse. And so of course I ended up, you know,
- 18:54Speaker 4: medically retiring, you know, after my twenty years of service.
- 18:58Speaker 4: But when I put up my hands and I look
- 19:01Speaker 4: to the heels my life i'm talking to I would
- 19:05Speaker 4: not be talking to you right now because I would
- 19:07Speaker 4: have been in uniform. I would have been doing these things. Yes,
- 19:11Speaker 4: So maybe I don't have all of the physical and
- 19:15Speaker 4: mental capabilities you know of just being able to run
- 19:19Speaker 4: circles around people. You know what I mean to do.
- 19:21Speaker 4: You know how we do ten things multitasking. You can't
- 19:24Speaker 4: tell us nothing. Well, I can't go at that speed anymore.
- 19:30Speaker 4: But maybe my story in my calling is going to
- 19:34Speaker 4: help somebody else get out of darkness who can't see
- 19:37Speaker 4: a way out. Oh wow, changes the game.
- 19:43Speaker 2: It does when you stop fighting God, it changes the
- 19:45Speaker 2: game because it sets you up for your destiny. I
- 19:49Speaker 2: think COVID was a blessing in disguise because it caused
- 19:52Speaker 2: us to slow down, to really tap into the things
- 19:56Speaker 2: that we were supposed to be doing. Absolutely, yeah, my
- 20:02Speaker 2: podcast because I'm always behind the scenes. I didn't want
- 20:05Speaker 2: to be seen in sad as a as a kid,
- 20:08Speaker 2: I hid under the bed because I didn't want to
- 20:10Speaker 2: be seen. And now I love it. I cannot see
- 20:15Speaker 2: my life without being without having this platform, I get
- 20:19Speaker 2: to meet people like yourself, and this has been an
- 20:22Speaker 2: awesome journey. And so we don't talk about love because
- 20:26Speaker 2: we could talk on and on and on about life,
- 20:29Speaker 2: and I want to talk about what I believe is
- 20:31Speaker 2: the best type of love, self love. Now I know
- 20:36Speaker 2: that you had some powerful self love to pall yourself. Listen,
- 20:42Speaker 2: I know my body is not right. Something is going on.
- 20:46Speaker 2: I understand what you're telling me, but I feel something
- 20:50Speaker 2: needs to be done. I need this test done. Yeah,
- 20:53Speaker 2: the importance of self love, let's talk about that.
- 20:57Speaker 4: Well, it's interesting that you said that, because it wasn't
- 21:00Speaker 4: self love I'm gonna tell you what. So when you
- 21:04Speaker 4: are running on fight or flight mode your entire life
- 21:10Speaker 4: to prove to people that you are the best, to
- 21:13Speaker 4: prove to yourself that you're the best, because you may
- 21:16Speaker 4: not have gotten love as a child, you know, and
- 21:19Speaker 4: that was me with my mom, you know, a very
- 21:22Speaker 4: abusive situation, a lot of mental abuse, physical abuse. I've
- 21:27Speaker 4: been sexually abused, and so you know, it's like you
- 21:32Speaker 4: put on this this avatar, you know, you put on
- 21:36Speaker 4: this cloak that says I'm this beast. I used to
- 21:39Speaker 4: call myself that. Honestly, it races our bodybuilt like you
- 21:44Speaker 4: couldn't tell me nothing. And so I don't believe that
- 21:49Speaker 4: that's particularly self love. I think that's seeking for self
- 21:52Speaker 4: love because no matter what you do, nothing excites you.
- 21:58Speaker 4: You're like, oh, I got I got the metal, I
- 22:00Speaker 4: just got this metal, I just got this PhD, I
- 22:02Speaker 4: just got all these stuff. I got this book. I
- 22:05Speaker 4: put my book out. And you're constantly searching for the
- 22:08Speaker 4: next thing to make yourself higher and higher and higher.
- 22:12Speaker 4: And so really you're more in your ego since as
- 22:16Speaker 4: far as that's concern. But guess what, So when I
- 22:20Speaker 4: had the near death experience, and I know a lot
- 22:23Speaker 4: of people can relate to this. You're questioning God, why me?
- 22:27Speaker 4: I'm the faithful Leader's servant. I've done everything for this country.
- 22:32Speaker 4: I've laid down my life for this country, you know,
- 22:36Speaker 4: or or what signed up to lay down my life?
- 22:38Speaker 4: And almost my life almost got taken away. Right, I've
- 22:42Speaker 4: done everything everything, but that was for you. That was
- 22:48Speaker 4: for meeting a need that could not be met in
- 22:51Speaker 4: that way. So if you don't meet that stuff spiritually,
- 22:54Speaker 4: so you're questioning God, like why mean? So you don't
- 22:58Speaker 4: feel connected to God. I think true self love is
- 23:04Speaker 4: when you are connected to God because then you know
- 23:09Speaker 4: that they're So if you are made in the image
- 23:11Speaker 4: and likeness of God, in the image and likeness of God,
- 23:16Speaker 4: that means I'm on that level. I'm not God, but
- 23:21Speaker 4: I have because most people will never see God, They're
- 23:25Speaker 4: gonna see you. So you're this representative of God. And
- 23:29Speaker 4: so when you see yourself in that image, because what
- 23:33Speaker 4: happens is and we see this, especially you know in
- 23:36Speaker 4: the suicidality department, feel so disconnected from God and I
- 23:42Speaker 4: feel so ashamed, and I feel like I have not
- 23:45Speaker 4: met my assignment that I should not be here. I
- 23:48Speaker 4: don't deserve to live. And God is saying you need
- 23:52Speaker 4: to see yourself in the spiritual realm, and not necessarily
- 23:56Speaker 4: because this is only a blip of our entire existence. Right,
- 24:02Speaker 4: the body's not gonna be here, but that does not
- 24:05Speaker 4: mean your spirit's not gonna be here. So when you
- 24:07Speaker 4: start to align with God in the spiritual realm, you
- 24:13Speaker 4: get messages earlier than you would have gotten them. You
- 24:16Speaker 4: notice when you start to be in alignment and you're like, no,
- 24:20Speaker 4: I met this person and you could tell right away
- 24:22Speaker 4: like yes or no, you know what I mean and
- 24:25Speaker 4: it's nothing bad. And so when you really self love
- 24:31Speaker 4: is when you decide that I am worthy enough to
- 24:35Speaker 4: see myself in the image and likeness of God. And
- 24:41Speaker 4: that's why I can hear from God. I can't hear
- 24:44Speaker 4: when I'm mad and I'm like, why are you doing this?
- 24:46Speaker 2: Then?
- 24:47Speaker 4: Why I did everything?
- 24:48Speaker 3: Why me?
- 24:49Speaker 4: Why did I have kidney failure? But God's like, no,
- 24:53Speaker 4: I gave you all the resources you need to take
- 24:56Speaker 4: care of that. I gave you the people, I gave
- 24:58Speaker 4: you the resources, all this technology, But I need you
- 25:01Speaker 4: to be obedient to what I'm telling you to do.
- 25:05Speaker 4: And that's gonna change it. That's that's true self love.
- 25:08Speaker 4: Because I think everybody loves themselves, but to feel it
- 25:11Speaker 4: for real, you know, it's not just so I'm gonna
- 25:14Speaker 4: make myself pretty, I'm gonna get the best body products,
- 25:17Speaker 4: I'm gonna eat food. It has to be ingrained in
- 25:20Speaker 4: your spiritual being. And that's when you know you have
- 25:24Speaker 4: you know, we have a lot of sick people in
- 25:25Speaker 4: the church.
- 25:27Speaker 2: Oh yeah, So.
- 25:30Speaker 4: It's not one thing. It's not just you know, my
- 25:34Speaker 4: mind is praying and saying I must you know, it
- 25:38Speaker 4: has to be everything. That's that's a whole part of you.
- 25:42Speaker 4: Are your finances aligned with what God has for you?
- 25:46Speaker 4: Is your health aligned with what God has for you?
- 25:48Speaker 4: That's true self love. And so if you're deficient, and
- 25:52Speaker 4: are your relationships, If you're deficient in any of those areas,
- 25:56Speaker 4: it's not that you don't love yourself. It's that you
- 26:00Speaker 4: aby needs some healing to figure out what it is
- 26:04Speaker 4: you know spiritually that you need to work on to
- 26:07Speaker 4: get yourself in alignment. And when you're in alignment, that's
- 26:09Speaker 4: true self love.
- 26:11Speaker 2: I love that. I love that. Oh my goodness, I
- 26:17Speaker 2: have to see my first right now, I have to
- 26:21Speaker 2: use that part as a clip or something, because that
- 26:24Speaker 2: right there, that was for me. That that was for
- 26:27Speaker 2: me because it's always it's always come with confirmation and
- 26:31Speaker 2: it lets me know that I am on the right track,
- 26:34Speaker 2: I am listening, I am being obedient, and I have that.
- 26:37Speaker 2: So that was just total confirmation for me. But we
- 26:42Speaker 2: don't talk about love and mental health because I know
- 26:46Speaker 2: you know are an advocates for mental health, and I
- 26:50Speaker 2: love talking about mental health because it's not talked about enough,
- 26:53Speaker 2: especial especially in our community. Yeah, so let's talk. Let's
- 26:58Speaker 2: talk about love. When it comes to your mental health,
- 27:01Speaker 2: you have to love yourself enough to know that it's
- 27:05Speaker 2: okay to not be okay. But the problem occurs when
- 27:08Speaker 2: you stay that way.
- 27:10Speaker 4: Honestly, I think that sometimes we don't know, we don't
- 27:16Speaker 4: have the awareness you ever. Again, if you've been on
- 27:19Speaker 4: a flight, fight or flight for so many years, you
- 27:24Speaker 4: know people or maybe we've even been part of that
- 27:27Speaker 4: where the minute you talk to somebody, you just sounds
- 27:31Speaker 4: like they're draining you. You know what I mean. They're
- 27:34Speaker 4: always talking about work, they're always talking about everybody else's issues,
- 27:39Speaker 4: and you know, we've all been in that space. You
- 27:43Speaker 4: know what I mean. And so sometimes it takes either
- 27:48Speaker 4: something to happen to you or someone who truly truly
- 27:52Speaker 4: loves you, who says, you know what, here's something that
- 27:57Speaker 4: I think you can you know, either work on or
- 28:00Speaker 4: you know something that I see that that is that
- 28:04Speaker 4: is holding you down from being the best, best version
- 28:07Speaker 4: of yourself. And you know, for me, I think you know,
- 28:12Speaker 4: because a lot of a lot of African American women
- 28:15Speaker 4: are single, you know, and you may date here or there,
- 28:18Speaker 4: or you know, you're like, no, that guy, I'm getting
- 28:21Speaker 4: rid of him. He didn't do it, or him or her,
- 28:23Speaker 4: they didn't do what I told him to do, you know.
- 28:27Speaker 4: And it wasn't until I got married and I met
- 28:31Speaker 4: my mirror. Because whoever you're with, you know, whether it
- 28:37Speaker 4: be a business partner, whether it be a love interest,
- 28:41Speaker 4: whether it be you know, somebody in your family who
- 28:44Speaker 4: you truly love and who's like a real mirror, feel comfortable.
- 28:49Speaker 4: It was like, Wow, I'm perfect? What's wrong with you?
- 28:53Speaker 4: You know what I mean? Like I'm great, I got
- 28:55Speaker 4: all of the accolades, I got all the degrees, I'm
- 28:58Speaker 4: making money. I got to what you I got the
- 29:01Speaker 4: credit score? What you mean I'm great. But everything that
- 29:06Speaker 4: I had been through in my experiences up till then
- 29:10Speaker 4: shaped me in my relationships, you know, with other people.
- 29:15Speaker 4: And when you're not you know, in a long term
- 29:18Speaker 4: intimate relationship, long time, you don't know you know what
- 29:22Speaker 4: I mean, You're just going to work, You're dealing with
- 29:23Speaker 4: the people at work. You're like, Okay, let's do this,
- 29:26Speaker 4: let's get it done. We gotta get it done. Nobody's
- 29:28Speaker 4: ever really able to get that close to you. And
- 29:32Speaker 4: so it wasn't until then where you know, my husband,
- 29:36Speaker 4: he was and I'm like, what's wrong with you? You know,
- 29:39Speaker 4: like questioning him, But because I love him, I'm like, well,
- 29:42Speaker 4: maybe I do need to think about this a little more,
- 29:46Speaker 4: you know, because I was so used to holding my
- 29:49Speaker 4: heart so close, even if I was in a relationship,
- 29:51Speaker 4: I wasn't really being truly open. And so I think
- 29:55Speaker 4: that was more of a door opening experience for me
- 30:00Speaker 4: when I actually and it doesn't stop like, oh yeah,
- 30:03Speaker 4: I learned this, I got it now. No, it is
- 30:06Speaker 4: a lifelong experience because you are constantly changing. You are
- 30:10Speaker 4: not the Kiki is not the same person she was yesterday.
- 30:15Speaker 4: She's a new person every single day. She's thinking about,
- 30:19Speaker 4: you know, and we may not be perfect, but every day.
- 30:23Speaker 4: So that's what I think as far as mental health
- 30:26Speaker 4: is concerned, is the awareness of it. If and even
- 30:30Speaker 4: if you don't have anyone who's gonna, you know, kind
- 30:32Speaker 4: of tap you on your shoulder because you're this strong
- 30:35Speaker 4: person and people think you're the you know what I mean,
- 30:38Speaker 4: it's like, don't ever talk, don't ever say anything to them.
- 30:41Speaker 2: Yeah, how is it.
- 30:43Speaker 4: Affecting your level of happiness and how you experience the world.
- 30:49Speaker 4: That's all you got to ask yourself is the way
- 30:52Speaker 4: I'm experiencing the world. So just say you're going to
- 30:56Speaker 4: nice restaurants every night and you're traveling the world and
- 31:01Speaker 4: on Instagram you look amazing. Everybody wants your life, but
- 31:06Speaker 4: you feel so lonely during those times where it's like
- 31:11Speaker 4: I wish I was in a relationship or I wish
- 31:15Speaker 4: I felt more comfortable with myself. You know, I have
- 31:18Speaker 4: to put on this front for everybody. That's when you know,
- 31:22Speaker 4: that's when you know there is something whether it's mental health,
- 31:26Speaker 4: spiritual health, physical health, whatever it is, that's when you know, Okay,
- 31:31Speaker 4: let me if it's the life that you want, then
- 31:35Speaker 4: so be it right. But if it's intrinsically not fulfilling,
- 31:42Speaker 4: then that's when you know, Okay, I need to look
- 31:45Speaker 4: at something and just have you know, somebody to help
- 31:49Speaker 4: you figure that out. You know, whether it be a
- 31:51Speaker 4: mental health provider, it could be a clergy person. You know,
- 31:55Speaker 4: it doesn't have to be prescriptive. Again, everybody's prescription is
- 31:59Speaker 4: not the same. Maybe you're going to go to a
- 32:02Speaker 4: prayer warrior maybe, you know, because I believe everybody has
- 32:06Speaker 4: spiritual gifts. It talks about that in the Bible.
- 32:08Speaker 2: We do.
- 32:09Speaker 4: It's just that this world and the way we experience
- 32:12Speaker 4: it does not want us to feed into those spiritual
- 32:15Speaker 4: gifts because then people wouldn't be able to control our spending,
- 32:19Speaker 4: to control the way we eat, to control everything that
- 32:22Speaker 4: we do. And so they don't want you to be
- 32:24Speaker 4: aware of that. And so that's why a lot of
- 32:27Speaker 4: the mindlessness on the scrolling, the mindlessness and watching TV.
- 32:31Speaker 4: You know, when I grew up and I don't want
- 32:34Speaker 4: to date myself, there were only a couple of cop shows.
- 32:38Speaker 4: It was Chips, it was lul and Order wasn't even
- 32:44Speaker 4: out then, you know what I mean? Like that, now
- 32:48Speaker 4: we Miamivice Miamivice, Miami mice chips, you know, Dukes and Hazard,
- 32:56Speaker 4: maybe you Manumi Magnum Pi. But now it's this. All
- 33:03Speaker 4: you see is darkness. I didn't remember seeing that much
- 33:06Speaker 4: show that many shows that portray so much darkness in
- 33:11Speaker 4: the world, right, and many of us didn't have cables,
- 33:14Speaker 4: So it wasn't until we went to Grandma's house, you know,
- 33:17Speaker 4: and she ain't watched She's not watching any of that stuff.
- 33:19Speaker 4: She's watching Bobby Jones Gospel.
- 33:22Speaker 5: Okay, yeah, the days I would give anything to have
- 33:30Speaker 5: that moment back and just having Bobby Jones Gospel.
- 33:34Speaker 2: And all that.
- 33:36Speaker 4: But the world is so different, and so that you know,
- 33:40Speaker 4: marrying yourself up with where you want to be, figuring out,
- 33:44Speaker 4: you know, spiritually, how to get there, you want to
- 33:47Speaker 4: be in alignment, and it shouldn't it shouldn't hurt you
- 33:51Speaker 4: to get there. So you shouldn't be giving up parts
- 33:54Speaker 4: of yourself to get there. And so whatever that means.
- 33:59Speaker 2: I love that you should not be giving up parts
- 34:02Speaker 2: of yourself to get there. Nobody needed to hear that.
- 34:07Speaker 4: Yeah, we all need it, we need it, we need it.
- 34:13Speaker 2: Well, we're gonna talk about all that other stuff and
- 34:16Speaker 2: talk about the book.
- 34:18Speaker 4: Yeah, yes, ma'am. That's that's a labor of love. You know,
- 34:25Speaker 4: it's coming out the beginning of next month, and you know,
- 34:31Speaker 4: it's so funny. I wanted to talk about this because
- 34:33Speaker 4: we tell everybody that should write their story, right, and
- 34:39Speaker 4: it is. I think it's very important to document, you know,
- 34:42Speaker 4: something that is going to help bring a positive impact
- 34:45Speaker 4: into this into this world and allow other people to
- 34:49Speaker 4: be free, you know, with hearing your story and what
- 34:52Speaker 4: you use to get there. But one of the things
- 34:56Speaker 4: is when you start to go deep. So this is
- 34:58Speaker 4: a teaching memoir. Are about my near death experience. It
- 35:03Speaker 4: does talk about, you know, my history and where I've
- 35:06Speaker 4: come and how I've used my spiritual gifts to basically overcome,
- 35:13Speaker 4: you know, the situation and to come out victorious better
- 35:16Speaker 4: than I ever would it would have been, you know.
- 35:19Speaker 4: And that's that's the belief that you have to have,
- 35:21Speaker 4: even if you're not there yet. That is the belief
- 35:24Speaker 4: that is the words. You are sowing these words, but
- 35:27Speaker 4: no one tells you about the trauma of reliving all
- 35:32Speaker 4: of those experiences when you go deep into doing a memoir.
- 35:37Speaker 2: It's a memoir in January, so I get it.
- 35:44Speaker 4: It's like you are being put in a movie where
- 35:49Speaker 4: you are the star role, going back into character of
- 35:53Speaker 4: that that damaged or hurt or traumatized child or or
- 36:00Speaker 4: traumatized active duty member or veteran or whoever you are
- 36:05Speaker 4: who have experienced these disparag disparities, and you're going back in.
- 36:14Speaker 4: Oh my goodness, you know, and you start to experience
- 36:17Speaker 4: what you experienced before, the health, the mental, the physiological responses.
- 36:25Speaker 4: It's like you were there again. Literally literally I had
- 36:31Speaker 4: lost seventy pounds and when I was in the thick
- 36:35Speaker 4: of some of the dark places, I gained ten more pounds.
- 36:39Speaker 4: I started going back up. So what I would advise is,
- 36:43Speaker 4: and again I pray, this book is something that inspires
- 36:47Speaker 4: so many people. People are in darkness who are still
- 36:51Speaker 4: overcoming some of that stuff and releasing some of those
- 36:56Speaker 4: layers of trauma that they've had or challenges. I'm gonna
- 37:00Speaker 4: tell you what I pray. This book is a labor
- 37:03Speaker 4: of love for people who truly need it. But I
- 37:07Speaker 4: believe every second of it was worth it. But I
- 37:10Speaker 4: would advise you to have somebody that is a guide
- 37:14Speaker 4: or a coach, and that's what I you know, really
- 37:16Speaker 4: help women do. I do coaching as well, you know,
- 37:20Speaker 4: and so I believe that having someone to walk with
- 37:26Speaker 4: you down that path and to guide you and to
- 37:30Speaker 4: have your spiritual practices and your holistic practic health practices
- 37:35Speaker 4: and wellness practices available to you as you are going
- 37:40Speaker 4: down that road. So I'm just excited for the world
- 37:43Speaker 4: to really hear my story. And you wouldn't think, you know,
- 37:49Speaker 4: you think, oh, well, that person's a high ranking person.
- 37:52Speaker 4: That wouldn't happen to them.
- 37:55Speaker 2: Life happens.
- 37:56Speaker 4: It happens to everybody you know, and so you can
- 38:04Speaker 4: know that there is support, there is help available to you.
- 38:08Speaker 4: But really knowing that when you rely on that internal
- 38:14Speaker 4: you know, nudging, you know that that is gonna reveal
- 38:18Speaker 4: some things to you. And sometimes when you ask for guidance,
- 38:24Speaker 4: sometimes the answer is not what you expect. So just
- 38:28Speaker 4: being obedient to that and being open to that. If
- 38:32Speaker 4: God said lead that relationship, leave that job, leave this country.
- 38:37Speaker 2: Be obedient, be obedient. And the thing about obedience for me,
- 38:44Speaker 2: I've always been obedient, but then I would pull back
- 38:48Speaker 2: a little bit, yeah, because I'm like, Okay, I only
- 38:50Speaker 2: have ten dollars in the bank and you're telling me
- 38:52Speaker 2: to give all ten to this offering. What I'm gonna
- 38:55Speaker 2: do for gas or food or whatever. Yeah, And so
- 38:58Speaker 2: when I realized that I don't won't for anything because
- 39:01Speaker 2: God got me, Why wouldn't I give? If I if
- 39:05Speaker 2: he tells me to give.
- 39:06Speaker 4: Why not gives? You're gonna get it tenfold?
- 39:12Speaker 2: You always do, always always. My sister and I prayed
- 39:18Speaker 2: a prayer over ourselves and our family about five or
- 39:22Speaker 2: six years ago, and it was finances because we remember
- 39:25Speaker 2: our dad always saying, well, I'm broke, I don't have
- 39:28Speaker 2: any money. I need business, And I'm like, you gotta
- 39:31Speaker 2: be careful with your words because they can trickle down
- 39:34Speaker 2: on your offspring or everybody that's connected to you if
- 39:37Speaker 2: you're not careful. Careful, y'all, we play prosperity and abundance
- 39:42Speaker 2: over our family. And when I say, God has been
- 39:45Speaker 2: blowing our minds like the power of prayer. If y'all
- 39:50Speaker 2: don't know how to tap into it, man, I suggest
- 39:52Speaker 2: that y'all just just start talking to God like he
- 39:54Speaker 2: would talk to a friend.
- 39:57Speaker 4: All day every day like I I have. You know,
- 40:01Speaker 4: it could be a prayer, it could be a saying,
- 40:03Speaker 4: it could be a mantra. That you have for the day.
- 40:07Speaker 4: So I, you know, continuously say you know, God, I
- 40:11Speaker 4: am open to all the miracles that you have for
- 40:14Speaker 4: me today. And so when something happens and I or
- 40:17Speaker 4: I get triggered or something, it's like, oh no, I
- 40:19Speaker 4: can turn it right back on and I'm speaking directly
- 40:22Speaker 4: to God. I don't need an intermediate person. You know,
- 40:26Speaker 4: that's gonna do it on my behalf.
- 40:28Speaker 2: Now.
- 40:28Speaker 4: You now, sometimes you do need those prayer words. It
- 40:31Speaker 4: was like, oh, but no, you have access right now,
- 40:35Speaker 4: right here, twenty four hours a day. And again, when
- 40:39Speaker 4: you don't feel it spiritually and you're just praying, continue
- 40:43Speaker 4: to do it. The spiritual will aligned. Yes, it's the
- 40:46Speaker 4: pain that is holding it down. You know, it's the traumas,
- 40:50Speaker 4: some things that need to be released. I got it.
- 40:53Speaker 4: But keep doing it, keep going there and you will hear.
- 40:58Speaker 4: You will get revelations. You will turn on. You will
- 41:01Speaker 4: open a book, you will open an email, you will
- 41:04Speaker 4: open social media and something will be there exactly what
- 41:08Speaker 4: you needed. You will meet somebody on the street, you'll
- 41:10Speaker 4: meet somebody at the grocery store, or somebody will say
- 41:14Speaker 4: something to you that that's really unexpected, and you'll be like,
- 41:20Speaker 4: how did you know I needed to hear it? You
- 41:22Speaker 4: don't even know me from a can of paign. How
- 41:24Speaker 4: would you know that I needed to hear that. So
- 41:26Speaker 4: that's how it always comes. And you're right, You're like,
- 41:30Speaker 4: I only got ten dollars and God told me to
- 41:32Speaker 4: put this, give this ten dollars away or put it
- 41:34Speaker 4: in the offer. And you're like, Okay, I'm gonna just
- 41:36Speaker 4: give six because I do need something. Let me go
- 41:38Speaker 4: get a couple of packs a round it, you know
- 41:40Speaker 4: what I mean, whatever I need to get this money
- 41:42Speaker 4: by And you're like no, and then you leave there
- 41:46Speaker 4: and you get you get a check in the mail. Yeah,
