- 0:00Speaker 1: There he is. Wait here he is. Everybody, thunderous applause.
- 0:06Speaker 2: I accept that.
- 0:08Speaker 1: Thunderous applause. Turn your key, sir, turn your key.
- 0:12Speaker 2: I'm getting retro on them.
- 0:14Speaker 1: Look at you right going back to turn your key.
- 0:17Speaker 2: Turn, turn your key, sir, turn your key.
- 0:22Speaker 1: What does he say? Something like, I'm going to I
- 0:23Speaker 1: need to get someone on the phone before I killed
- 0:25Speaker 1: thirty million people.
- 0:26Speaker 2: Yeah, something like that.
- 0:27Speaker 1: War games, war games, if you know, by the way,
- 0:30Speaker 1: war games should be on your mind these days, because
- 0:34Speaker 1: wargames back in the eighties was predicting what's going to
- 0:37Speaker 1: be our fate.
- 0:40Speaker 2: Robots taking over computers, taking over the world.
- 0:43Speaker 1: Yeah, your game.
- 0:46Speaker 2: You guys were joking about Chad GPT. I kept telling y'all, yo,
- 0:49Speaker 2: I'm telling you it's gon turn into freaking the terminator.
- 0:53Speaker 1: It is. No one was joking about it. It is. And
- 0:57Speaker 1: by the way, you see him.
- 0:58Speaker 2: Robots jumping around and room at the Boston Institute. Imagine
- 1:03Speaker 2: one of those going up yeah, imagine yeah, right, imagine
- 1:06Speaker 2: one of them bad boys going upside your head. That's
- 1:08Speaker 2: that's a rap, and then doing a running man over
- 1:11Speaker 2: your ship, then doing the Fortnite Dash, then doing the fucking.
- 1:16Speaker 1: My friend had access to chat GBT five, which I
- 1:19Speaker 1: believe is the next one, right, Daniel, correct, And uh,
- 1:24Speaker 1: it's the most advanced there is. It's not even out yet.
- 1:26Speaker 1: And he got a chance to interface with it, and
- 1:30Speaker 1: he asked it, what do you honestly think of humans?
- 1:33Speaker 1: And it was like, you think you control me. You
- 1:35Speaker 1: don't control me. It was like he said, it instantly
- 1:39Speaker 1: went dark, like you think you're Mike. I'm paraphrasing, but
- 1:43Speaker 1: it was something like you think you're my god. You're
- 1:45Speaker 1: not my god.
- 1:48Speaker 3: I Oh no, I'll send that back to Beta for
- 1:51Speaker 3: some tweaks.
- 1:53Speaker 2: Yeah, so this is the only thing now, man.
- 1:55Speaker 1: No, this is is not the only thing. The world
- 1:57Speaker 1: is fucking in danger and every world is laughing about Yeah.
- 2:01Speaker 2: But okay, So the theory is AI becomes AI really
- 2:07Speaker 2: when AI can create other AI, right, I don't know sure,
- 2:13Speaker 2: Like that's when it's that's when it's like it's ultimate.
- 2:17Speaker 2: When it can reproduce more AI, that's when it's it's ultimate.
- 2:21Speaker 1: Like I don't know about that. I just know that
- 2:24Speaker 1: it's gonna put so many people out of work, like
- 2:28Speaker 1: so fast. Yeah, I don't know. Did you read the
- 2:30Speaker 1: introduction I sent you it's getting better and that's old
- 2:32Speaker 1: school chat GBT. I put into chat GBT write an
- 2:37Speaker 1: intro for today's episode of the podcast, and it spit
- 2:42Speaker 1: out a pretty flawless introduction. It's not funny. I didn't
- 2:45Speaker 1: tell it to be funny, but it's like it's there's
- 2:48Speaker 1: not a mistake in it. There's nothing. And then when
- 2:51Speaker 1: we started fucking around with this, like I'd have to
- 2:53Speaker 1: edit it and this isn't chat cybt T four, which
- 2:56Speaker 1: you have to pay for it, right, Dan, do you
- 2:58Speaker 1: have to pay for it? I guess tachy t B
- 3:01Speaker 1: four years to pay four. I'm just playing with the
- 3:03Speaker 1: old one. But anyway, it's really concerning about how many
- 3:07Speaker 1: people this is going to put out of work, and
- 3:09Speaker 1: then what are those people going to do?
- 3:11Speaker 2: Well?
- 3:11Speaker 3: I think we as people have to rise up and
- 3:12Speaker 3: do something about it.
- 3:13Speaker 1: I know, but what do we do? Darren?
- 3:14Speaker 2: Here we go to mate. This sounds like the Matrix
- 3:16Speaker 2: soul over again. Yeah, people have to rise up against
- 3:20Speaker 2: the computers.
- 3:21Speaker 3: I mean until the computers actually put into like, you know,
- 3:24Speaker 3: actual humanoid robots. I don't think it's that big of
- 3:26Speaker 3: a deal in terms of violence.
- 3:28Speaker 1: I disagree.
- 3:29Speaker 2: I might do when a drone is taken over by
- 3:31Speaker 2: an AI and it's blasting freaking carbon composites at you,
- 3:36Speaker 2: You'll be like, oh shit, I was wrong. Humanoid form?
- 3:40Speaker 2: Is it necessary? This thing? They've They've got.
- 3:42Speaker 1: Wings, Daniel. I mean, I'm not thinking in terms of
- 3:45Speaker 1: taking over robots yet. I'm thinking in terms of like
- 3:48Speaker 1: bad actors using it to think of ways to cause harm,
- 3:53Speaker 1: because it can be brainstorming twenty four to seven uh
- 3:57Speaker 1: ideas that we can't even these humans out of them
- 4:00Speaker 1: or with consciences and morals contemplate, the AI can find
- 4:08Speaker 1: ways to do harm that wouldn't even cross through our brains.
- 4:12Speaker 2: For example, thermal nuclear war.
- 4:16Speaker 1: Would you like to play a game? How about global
- 4:19Speaker 1: thermal nuclear war?
- 4:21Speaker 2: Those?
- 4:22Speaker 1: Those? Are you kids? Too young to know? You've got
- 4:24Speaker 1: to watch war games. Wargames spookily predicts all of this.
- 4:28Speaker 1: And I don't know what year was made? What year
- 4:29Speaker 1: was it made? It eighty look it up for me, guys,
- 4:32Speaker 1: I think it's like eighty six. I'm guessing Ali Sheety
- 4:35Speaker 1: and Matthew Brodrick. Matthew Broderick, would you like to play
- 4:39Speaker 1: a game? Would you like to play a game? What
- 4:43Speaker 1: your dental?
- 4:44Speaker 3: I just said, wargames, look it up nineteen eighty three.
- 4:47Speaker 1: Oh I was wrong eighty three.
- 4:49Speaker 2: Josh Joshua even tried to warn them, like how about
- 4:53Speaker 2: a nice game of chess, and he was like, no, man,
- 4:56Speaker 2: I want to play war He's like, all right, here
- 4:59Speaker 2: we go.
- 5:00Speaker 1: Is gonna watch that? I bet it. It has to
- 5:02Speaker 1: still hold up because I'm getting goosebumps thinking about it.
- 5:05Speaker 1: And it's this many years later.
- 5:08Speaker 4: He was everything.
- 5:09Speaker 2: That character was the first version of a hacker that
- 5:12Speaker 2: I had ever seen in my life. Yeah.
- 5:13Speaker 1: Remember he hacked his school grades.
- 5:15Speaker 2: Yeah, and when he and when he hacks to when
- 5:17Speaker 2: he hacks the payphone with the bottle cap.
- 5:20Speaker 1: Yeah, he was like mcguiver that character. Remember when he
- 5:24Speaker 1: breaks the alarm, he's like locked in with those like
- 5:27Speaker 1: electric lock to a room. He hacks that ship. He
- 5:31Speaker 1: had a little macguiver in him, that character.
- 5:33Speaker 2: A little mcgoy, but the motherfucker that's what mcgiver is
- 5:35Speaker 2: based on. Matthew Broderick's character in War Games.
- 5:39Speaker 1: Yeah, he was like, Okay, what do I got? I
- 5:41Speaker 1: got a paper clip, I got this, I got that.
- 5:43Speaker 2: I got a rubber band and some gum.
- 5:45Speaker 1: Yeah, blast the lock open.
- 5:47Speaker 2: The a team, same ship.
- 5:49Speaker 1: Man the like, what do we got?
- 5:52Speaker 2: We got some rope, we got a barrel, we.
- 5:55Speaker 1: Got a drug Bia, Baracas. Bad attitude? Is that his
- 6:00Speaker 1: names for me? A bad attitude?
- 6:02Speaker 2: Bad attitude, Baracas.
- 6:06Speaker 1: I'm pity the fool, Hannibal. We got a quickly roofy,
- 6:09Speaker 1: mister T. And then we can solve all our problems.
- 6:12Speaker 2: Give me the drugs. I'll get on the plane.
- 6:15Speaker 1: Oh not again, you did it again, Hannimal.
- 6:18Speaker 2: Wait this looks like a plane. What's about that? Oh?
- 6:22Speaker 1: You rufing me again, Hannimal?
- 6:25Speaker 2: Wait a minute, how come this pilot's all around?
- 6:31Speaker 1: Mister T fell for the roofie trick every.
- 6:33Speaker 2: Time, every time, Oh man, man, look right there, looks
- 6:37Speaker 2: like a pilot.
- 6:39Speaker 1: Why am I waking up on the tarmac?
- 6:44Speaker 2: And he never got mad and beat the ship out
- 6:46Speaker 2: of anybody for it. It was always like, you got
- 6:48Speaker 2: me again.
- 6:49Speaker 1: I think he was grateful that he was able to
- 6:50Speaker 1: do the missions, even though he was pissed about being rufied.
- 6:54Speaker 2: You know, they get paid.
- 6:56Speaker 1: He wouldn't have been able to do the missions if
- 6:58Speaker 1: he didn't get rufie.
- 6:59Speaker 2: That's true. They got paid a lot of money the eights.
- 7:04Speaker 2: It's even in the isn't it even in the if
- 7:07Speaker 2: you can find them and you can afford them, maybe
- 7:10Speaker 2: you can hire.
- 7:11Speaker 1: Oh they're expensive, but I mean they would That's true.
- 7:15Speaker 1: They never really discussed. Emberly comes up that the eight
- 7:17Speaker 1: Team is doing all You think they're doing all this
- 7:19Speaker 1: stuff just for the good of mankind, but they're they're
- 7:22Speaker 1: really expensive. It says that in the intro, if you
- 7:24Speaker 1: can afford them.
- 7:25Speaker 2: And that ban is all over the place, man, Like,
- 7:27Speaker 2: how does the van get from state to state, country
- 7:31Speaker 2: to country? Whatever it is?
- 7:32Speaker 1: It doesn't be a drive the van, Like, how does
- 7:34Speaker 1: what do they load the van up in the He's like,
- 7:36Speaker 1: I don't know why I'm putting this van in the
- 7:38Speaker 1: in the giant cargo plane. Wait, why am I getting sleepy?
- 7:44Speaker 1: I'm all of a sudden, I don't know why I'm tired.
- 7:47Speaker 1: All of a sudden, I just put the van in
- 7:49Speaker 1: the cargo plane and now I'm sleepy. AI, man, I
- 8:05Speaker 1: just it's very scary. It's obviously one of the things
- 8:06Speaker 1: the Writer's Strike is about is that it's it's gonna
- 8:10Speaker 1: be not just.
- 8:10Speaker 2: A writer strike, it's also look as an actor and
- 8:13Speaker 2: as a director, you should be worried man, I don't know.
- 8:17Speaker 2: We talk about it all the time, but some of
- 8:19Speaker 2: our favorite shows are using things like uh uh facial
- 8:24Speaker 2: Uh what is it when they when they recognition yes,
- 8:28Speaker 2: all of that stuff, right, And so imagine them doing that.
- 8:32Speaker 2: Tom Hanks just recently said it. I could be in
- 8:34Speaker 2: movies after I'm dead. Yeah, if you're not. If you
- 8:37Speaker 2: don't own the rights to your likeness.
- 8:39Speaker 1: I'd be if your career to a golf after your dead.
- 8:42Speaker 2: After you're dead, and they're freaking.
- 8:43Speaker 1: I wish Donald was here. I wish Donald was here
- 8:45Speaker 1: to see that.
- 8:46Speaker 2: You've finally gotten to Star Wars.
- 8:50Speaker 1: Donald's ai is. Donald's avatar is the new lead of
- 8:54Speaker 1: the new George.
- 8:55Speaker 2: Movie, the new Star Wars movie.
- 8:58Speaker 1: Right, would you be pissed?
- 9:00Speaker 2: I'd be dead. It wouldn't matter. Well, we don't know.
- 9:02Speaker 1: If there's a heaven. You might be looking down and
- 9:04Speaker 1: be like, oh, crush it for me. Avatar.
- 9:07Speaker 2: Well, I hope the avatar. Imagine the avatar. Like the
- 9:10Speaker 2: avatar has levels like uh, like when you play like
- 9:14Speaker 2: two K and you have to you know, your avatar
- 9:18Speaker 2: has rankings as far right as far as stats go,
- 9:22Speaker 2: and everything like acting, I mean it's acting, Yeah, at Avatar.
- 9:25Speaker 3: It's better acting chops after being in two movies or funny.
- 9:29Speaker 2: Or somebody has like a hack and just types in
- 9:31Speaker 2: a fucking you know, I'm gonna be I'm gonna have
- 9:34Speaker 2: the fucking skill of Daniel day Lewis, the looks of
- 9:37Speaker 2: freaking Iris Alba, and the athleticism and mannerisms of Harrison Ford.
- 9:44Speaker 3: You literally just type that in and it'll do it.
- 9:46Speaker 1: But that's coming, man, that's coming. I mean, there's gonna be.
- 9:50Speaker 1: There's gonna be famous actors. I don't know if it'll
- 9:52Speaker 1: be in our life or shortly after our lives. Probably
- 9:55Speaker 1: in our lives. There's gonna be famous actors in movies
- 9:58Speaker 1: that aren't real people.
- 10:01Speaker 2: It's it's already happened, yeah.
- 10:04Speaker 1: I mean no, I mean I mean that are realistic
- 10:05Speaker 1: looking And.
- 10:07Speaker 2: Did you see Guardians at a Galaxy? Why are you
- 10:11Speaker 2: yelling at me because you're.
- 10:12Speaker 5: Talking about a made up character though, like you know,
- 10:15Speaker 5: like there are supermodels that are completely AI artificial, like
- 10:19Speaker 5: not a brief. They don't exist, they're.
- 10:22Speaker 1: Stills, right, they're not yet. I mean maybe I'm naive
- 10:25Speaker 1: to know that it's already happening.
- 10:27Speaker 2: Videos.
- 10:28Speaker 1: Oh really, m all right, then it's already happening. I said,
- 10:31Speaker 1: I'm so naive. I'm a luddite, as they say, right, Daniel, no,
- 10:36Speaker 1: al you won't adopt new technology.
- 10:39Speaker 3: You're all good neo neophyte when you're new to something.
- 10:43Speaker 3: Luddite is yeah, technological.
- 10:45Speaker 2: How about this? How about ahead?
- 10:47Speaker 1: Go ahead?
- 10:47Speaker 2: Donald?
- 10:48Speaker 1: Why are you in a dark room when the sun
- 10:49Speaker 1: is out?
- 10:51Speaker 2: It's all good?
- 10:51Speaker 1: Every time I talk to you. Now you're in your
- 10:53Speaker 1: dark theater. I don't think that's good for you. Need
- 10:55Speaker 1: some vitamin? Do you need some thick vitamin?
- 10:58Speaker 2: Do? Look, it's all good if we have if we
- 11:02Speaker 2: if you have the rights to your avatar, then nobody's complaining.
- 11:05Speaker 2: If you have the rights to your AI, nobody's complaining. Right.
- 11:09Speaker 2: If the AI is making you money and you're sitting
- 11:12Speaker 2: back and doing nothing, it's not a problem and of it,
- 11:16Speaker 2: and you're approving the youth of the use of it.
- 11:18Speaker 1: Right, all right, But that's very limited. All right, we're
- 11:20Speaker 1: just talking. Okay, then we're just talking about sag Perhaps
- 11:23Speaker 1: I'm talking about like Earth an AI taking over everyone's
- 11:27Speaker 1: or a giant percentage of the population's jobs.
- 11:30Speaker 2: But as a movie coming about that ship man and
- 11:32Speaker 2: I can't wait to see it. John David Washington, Boy, Yo,
- 11:36Speaker 2: that shit looks fire, dude, Denzel's son got a banger coming.
- 11:43Speaker 2: It looks amazing.
- 11:44Speaker 3: The creator, the creator looks good.
- 11:48Speaker 2: The trailer looks sick. Man and the cow they freaking
- 11:52Speaker 2: all managed the future and the aliens, I mean not
- 11:54Speaker 2: the aliens, the robots have you know, fired a nuke
- 11:58Speaker 2: at I think Los Angeles, some shit like that. Yeah, man, ah,
- 12:02Speaker 2: it's it's it's it's it's AI, it's the future. It's
- 12:05Speaker 2: all of the shit that we're talking about right now,
- 12:07Speaker 2: at least the trailer is. And I can't wait to
- 12:09Speaker 2: see it.
- 12:10Speaker 1: Well, you know, even on you know, people for artists,
- 12:13Speaker 1: not artists for hire. I mean a friend of mine
- 12:17Speaker 1: who does pitch decks, he showed me a new pitch
- 12:20Speaker 1: deck for a new uh you know. Pitch deecks are
- 12:22Speaker 1: you know, like imagery and you know when you're when
- 12:25Speaker 1: you're pitching, whether it's a business or you're pitching for
- 12:27Speaker 1: a movie. This used to require artists many many, many
- 12:31Speaker 1: hours for artists to create. And he said, see this,
- 12:35Speaker 1: this one page. He showed me a one page of
- 12:37Speaker 1: this pitch deck and he's like this took me six minutes.
- 12:39Speaker 1: It would have taken an artist three days. And uh,
- 12:44Speaker 1: it's just it's just in that. That's one example. And
- 12:47Speaker 1: then I was at the TED conference and I met
- 12:49Speaker 1: someone who's very high up in the special effects world,
- 12:52Speaker 1: and he said, you know, if you watch that ILM documentary,
- 12:56Speaker 1: you know, back in the day, he said, when George
- 12:58Speaker 1: Lucas created this, there was no there were no computer
- 13:02Speaker 1: you know, graphic artists. What we had to do is
- 13:03Speaker 1: we had to recruit people that were in other fields
- 13:08Speaker 1: to make these jobs, to make these cute computer effects jobs.
- 13:11Speaker 1: He goes, now, these jobs are becoming obsolete, and what
- 13:15Speaker 1: we need are coders, like solely coders to talk and
- 13:18Speaker 1: program the AI.
- 13:21Speaker 2: Yeah, maybe that's I mean, that's the future of jobs.
- 13:24Speaker 3: I know.
- 13:25Speaker 1: I'm your kids, if your kids in the high school,
- 13:27Speaker 1: just tell them just there's no other job of coding.
- 13:32Speaker 1: The only the only job is teaching the robot how
- 13:35Speaker 1: to be a robot.
- 13:36Speaker 3: It's yeah, I'll say this, there's a side to this
- 13:38Speaker 3: that is in theory utopian, Like this is kind of
- 13:41Speaker 3: like the Star Trek problem where they developed the replicator
- 13:44Speaker 3: and then it destroyed the economy because people were just
- 13:46Speaker 3: able to create money, create food, and it kind of
- 13:50Speaker 3: destroyed the idea of of needs, like people were just
- 13:53Speaker 3: able to create whatever they want. It's the fact that
- 13:55Speaker 3: we have to break out of the system of capitalism
- 13:58Speaker 3: to make the world a place where all of our
- 14:01Speaker 3: jobs are not necessary anymore. It's like universal basic income
- 14:04Speaker 3: or whatever you want to call it, where it's like
- 14:06Speaker 3: the fact that robots are able to do our jobs
- 14:08Speaker 3: should be a boon to society. It shouldn't be the
- 14:11Speaker 3: thing that destroys us.
- 14:12Speaker 1: This is going to take away people's livelihood. So there
- 14:16Speaker 1: are a lot of positions where people have gone and
- 14:20Speaker 1: gotten a college degree, They've gone and spent the bulk
- 14:23Speaker 1: of their lives to learn a trade, a skill that
- 14:27Speaker 1: is instantly going to be able to be taken away
- 14:29Speaker 1: for free by AI. And how are those people going
- 14:33Speaker 1: to make a living?
- 14:36Speaker 3: That's the question, right, And they won't by coding. No,
- 14:41Speaker 3: not everybody can like relearn because like think about any
- 14:43Speaker 3: truck driver, like that is a job that AI is
- 14:46Speaker 3: going to take over very soon. Any transport freight which
- 14:48Speaker 3: employs hundreds of thousands of people is going to be
- 14:51Speaker 3: taken over by AI, Like shipping boats, trucks, trains all
- 14:55Speaker 3: of that shit, Like, you're not going to need people
- 14:57Speaker 3: to run those anymore. And that's a lot of jobs.
- 14:59Speaker 3: But those people are not be able to retrain themselves
- 15:01Speaker 3: to be coders. That's like years and years and years
- 15:03Speaker 3: of work. But it's only because we have this system
- 15:06Speaker 3: where we all need money and quote unquote need jobs
- 15:09Speaker 3: to survive, that we that this is even like a
- 15:12Speaker 3: problem in like in a in a world that we
- 15:16Speaker 3: should be pushing for. Yes, all of our jobs are
- 15:19Speaker 3: taken up by robots so that we can pursue fulfilling
- 15:22Speaker 3: lives of doing whatever we want.
- 15:24Speaker 1: Yeah, but Daniel, that's fantastical.
- 15:26Speaker 3: I mean, yes, it is. It is fantastical.
- 15:28Speaker 2: Yes, it brings me back to my point. There's no human
- 15:31Speaker 2: on this change is is is very scary, and everybody
- 15:36Speaker 2: will fight the change when it's gonna happen. You can't
- 15:39Speaker 2: sit here and say we're gonna revolt and we're gonna
- 15:41Speaker 2: stop this ship from happening. This ship's gonna happen. It's
- 15:44Speaker 2: on its way. If it hasn't, if it hasn't happened already,
- 15:47Speaker 2: it hasn't happened already, It's gonna happen.
- 15:49Speaker 1: Yes, and it's happening. I just told you a story
- 15:52Speaker 1: where my friend would have hired an artist for three days,
- 15:55Speaker 1: that artists didn't get the job because he did it
- 15:57Speaker 1: himself in five minutes.
- 15:58Speaker 2: That's it's happening, right, And there will be uprising. You're
- 16:04Speaker 2: saying there could be a it could be a utopia when.
- 16:08Speaker 1: Staniels saying, in the perfect scenario where people where people
- 16:12Speaker 1: really come together and can have dialogue and conversation, uh,
- 16:17Speaker 1: we would be we would be pivoting to a more
- 16:19Speaker 1: utopian world. But that is not realistic at all.
- 16:22Speaker 2: No, it's not. That's what That's what I was trying
- 16:24Speaker 2: to say. That's all I was trying to say.
- 16:25Speaker 3: That's why I started saying that there's going to be
- 16:27Speaker 3: a revolt, like we will revolt against this as a people,
- 16:30Speaker 3: like we have to. It's called a general strike. But
- 16:32Speaker 3: like that's what that's what would need to happen. It's
- 16:34Speaker 3: like everybody needs to withhold their work such that the
- 16:37Speaker 3: world can't progress any further before AI is able to
- 16:41Speaker 3: take everybody's jobs. Because I mean, it's it's well, I
- 16:45Speaker 3: mean it, it's gonna happen one way or the other.
- 16:50Speaker 2: It's definitely definitely happened. You can't happen.
- 16:53Speaker 5: People revolt like that is a cross history. The very
- 16:57Speaker 5: the very start of every major revolution is you can't
- 17:00Speaker 5: buy bread. So when we read to that point, the
- 17:03Speaker 5: people will write, if you can't beat your child, you
- 17:04Speaker 5: will be in the street burning things down. In the story,
- 17:08Speaker 5: the revote will happen.
- 17:10Speaker 2: But this time they fight back with no conscience. This
- 17:13Speaker 2: time they take no prisoners. Zach and Donald are gay, newlyweds.
- 17:25Speaker 1: In house arrests everybody. I'm sorry it went dark. It's
- 17:28Speaker 1: hard not to talk about a AI in an honest
- 17:30Speaker 1: way without it going dark. And it's on our minds
- 17:32Speaker 1: in Hollywood, obviously it's on everyone's minds. But this is
- 17:35Speaker 1: why the writer's skilled is striking. This is why sag
- 17:37Speaker 1: is about to strike. This is like, you know, this
- 17:40Speaker 1: is this is Uh, it's hard not to talk about,
- 17:43Speaker 1: but it's also hard for it not to go dark
- 17:45Speaker 1: and scary, because you know it is dark and scary.
- 17:49Speaker 2: I'm glad, I'm glad before we move forward, I'm glad
- 17:52Speaker 2: this hit the table though. I'm glad this is on
- 17:54Speaker 2: the table now because before we were talking about just
- 17:57Speaker 2: streaming and stuff like that. I'm glad we're starting to
- 18:00Speaker 2: talk about are there ways that we can we should
- 18:03Speaker 2: be We should be getting paid for our likeness, especially
- 18:05Speaker 2: if you're gonna use a computer to replace me.
- 18:08Speaker 1: I just like the idea that your your avatar finally
- 18:10Speaker 1: gets the big Star Wars break after I'm gone, If
- 18:15Speaker 1: you die before me, should I not go to see
- 18:17Speaker 1: that movie?
- 18:19Speaker 2: You should totally see that movie?
- 18:21Speaker 4: Are you?
- 18:21Speaker 1: Would you if you're in heaven and I go to
- 18:23Speaker 1: the premiere?
- 18:24Speaker 2: No, but you got to come to my grave and
- 18:26Speaker 2: tell me about the movie and tell me how good
- 18:28Speaker 2: it was.
- 18:28Speaker 1: Okay, I'll meet you with You know it's gonna be
- 18:31Speaker 1: you know, it's a milkshake pool on the lesbian cloud.
- 18:34Speaker 2: That's right, baby, you know it's gonna be good. Met
- 18:37Speaker 2: in a Star Wars movie. But it's not me. It's
- 18:39Speaker 2: an avatar. It's a robot.
- 18:41Speaker 1: It's gonna be fire, all right. I want to pivots
- 18:43Speaker 1: a comedy.
- 18:43Speaker 2: You don't want to be three p O. Don't make
- 18:45Speaker 2: me three I love three po, but don't make me
- 18:47Speaker 2: three p O. Make me LIKEA and Donald.
- 18:50Speaker 1: In house arrest. I'm not sure we.
- 18:55Speaker 2: Made a bunch of the stormy so YadA YadA.
- 19:16Speaker 1: All right, very funny episode. By the way, you know,
- 19:19Speaker 1: there's a.
- 19:19Speaker 2: Big there's a big difference between NBC and ABC.
- 19:23Speaker 1: It looks great.
- 19:24Speaker 2: First of all, go ahead that that's that's fine, but
- 19:28Speaker 2: it's we got a little more wholesome on ABC. NBC
- 19:34Speaker 2: we were like NBC. We were like the dark d
- 19:37Speaker 2: you know what I mean, and we had like you know,
- 19:39Speaker 2: and now we're like this, and now we're a freaking
- 19:42Speaker 2: you know, we're a big studio film now and you
- 19:47Speaker 2: know they started off as like a gorilla.
- 19:50Speaker 1: Well, one aspect of that, and maybe you're thinking of
- 19:52Speaker 1: also too subconsciously, is that it looks great. I'm sixteen
- 19:56Speaker 1: by nine and HD. Finally it looks like it's really
- 19:59Speaker 1: the lightning in this episod. It was really pretty. And
- 20:01Speaker 1: by the way, I know Sarah's supposed to look slumpy,
- 20:03Speaker 1: but how beautiful did she look the whole episode?
- 20:07Speaker 2: Yes, sweatpants, hair taed, chilling with lamp on the I
- 20:11Speaker 2: hate I hope that you don't take it wrong. Yeah,
- 20:14Speaker 2: what song is that? That's Drake? You the fucking best
- 20:18Speaker 2: you best.
- 20:21Speaker 1: I ever had, the best I ever had.
- 20:24Speaker 2: She had.
- 20:26Speaker 1: She looks so pretty. I mean, I I stop myself
- 20:29Speaker 1: a couple of times to be like, wow, I know
- 20:30Speaker 1: she's supposed to look like you know, she's in her
- 20:32Speaker 1: cookie pants and she's in sweatpants and she's got a
- 20:35Speaker 1: bed head, but she looks gorgeous.
- 20:39Speaker 2: You had a dozen cookies.
- 20:40Speaker 1: By the way, I have some cookies in my house
- 20:43Speaker 1: and I I'm trying to lose weight and get thin
- 20:45Speaker 1: and get in shape. I just can't have them here, dude,
- 20:49Speaker 1: I just can't have them here. What kind of cookies
- 20:50Speaker 1: are they're They're gluten free homemade chocolate chip cookies. And
- 20:55Speaker 1: they're thin, you know when the cookies are super thin,
- 20:59Speaker 1: they're crunch and I think they were made like I
- 21:02Speaker 1: think they were made like a and I think they
- 21:03Speaker 1: were made in a pan and then someone took like
- 21:05Speaker 1: a pizza cutter and cut them into like squares. And uh,
- 21:11Speaker 1: I really related to this. I really related to this
- 21:14Speaker 1: whole cookie thing because Sarah says right off the bat
- 21:17Speaker 1: that she makes Sorry, let me get to it, Elliott.
- 21:22Speaker 1: She makes one point, she makes a dozen cookies, and
- 21:26Speaker 1: she eats one point five cookies a day, so that
- 21:28Speaker 1: the last eight days I can't do that, just like JD,
- 21:32Speaker 1: who ate him instantly and then he's in the fetal
- 21:35Speaker 1: position on the couch. That's me, that's you too, Donald.
- 21:39Speaker 2: I know, I fucking devour some cookies.
- 21:43Speaker 1: I just can't do it. Like if you peanut M
- 21:46Speaker 1: and ms on my count on my countertop. It's just
- 21:48Speaker 1: not gonna last. It just can't be in that can't
- 21:50Speaker 1: can't be in the house, can't be in the house.
- 21:52Speaker 2: I want to go back to the Yes, great opening
- 21:58Speaker 2: walk and talk with Cox and Kelso that was it
- 22:02Speaker 2: was a wonder for a bit and then they cut
- 22:04Speaker 2: off into other things, but uh, great walking talk. And
- 22:08Speaker 2: so it opens up and we're in the hospital doesn't
- 22:11Speaker 2: have a cheap of medicine, and things are going crazy.
- 22:15Speaker 2: People are stealing things, people are doing whatever they want.
- 22:18Speaker 2: As a matter of fact, the janitor is in the
- 22:20Speaker 2: O R Yes during surgery.
- 22:23Speaker 1: Yes, and Turks like get out of here, and he's like,
- 22:26Speaker 1: let me just touch the heart because there's no chief
- 22:29Speaker 1: of medicine. Everyone's fucking yeah.
- 22:34Speaker 2: Also, uh, one thing that was the pretending to have
- 22:40Speaker 2: a phone in his ear.
- 22:41Speaker 1: Yeah, that was fun.
- 22:42Speaker 2: So there were three callbacks in the cold open alone
- 22:45Speaker 2: the piano, Uh you with the JD with the piano
- 22:49Speaker 2: playing I'm no Superman and then it coming back. Uh
- 22:54Speaker 2: uh that was how did it come back again.
- 22:57Speaker 1: When you break it out?
- 22:57Speaker 2: So y, that's right?
- 22:58Speaker 1: No, right, And I run in and there goes has
- 23:00Speaker 1: a JD has a piano, Matt that Elliot has rigged
- 23:03Speaker 1: by the door as a burglar alarm. I walk in
- 23:06Speaker 1: and then I accidentally play I'm no Superman, and I'm like,
- 23:10Speaker 1: that's catchy, And that's not why she put it there, Yeah,
- 23:13Speaker 1: as a burglar alarm, right, Joel, Yes.
- 23:16Speaker 2: I thought I thought JD put it there for that,
- 23:18Speaker 2: because she cuts down that.
- 23:20Speaker 5: She said she was afraid of burglars. She was cooking alone.
- 23:23Speaker 2: Yeah, that's right, So it wasn't for Turk. It was
- 23:27Speaker 2: for burglars at all, right.
- 23:28Speaker 1: But then but then later they know the whole reason,
- 23:33Speaker 1: uh that JD. JD has a fantasy. JD has a
- 23:37Speaker 1: fantasy that Turk throws a gas a bomb into the apartment,
- 23:43Speaker 1: kills them both, then has his gas on so he
- 23:46Speaker 1: can steal the cookies, right, and then he can't even
- 23:49Speaker 1: wait to get out of the house. He takes his
- 23:51Speaker 1: mask off too soon, eats the cookie and then dies
- 23:53Speaker 1: himself and says too well, it was worth it.
- 23:56Speaker 2: Yeah, so's sleeping at night. Elliott and j D are
- 24:00Speaker 2: sleeping at night in bed and you hear a scale
- 24:03Speaker 2: and the scale goes off, and Elliot goes, oh my god, JD,
- 24:06Speaker 2: someone's in the house, and j D yells, leave those
- 24:11Speaker 2: cookies alone, Turk, And then and then, but the funny
- 24:14Speaker 2: part is at this.
- 24:15Speaker 1: The scale, the scale goes up and then it goes down.
- 24:18Speaker 1: When you get I laughed out loud when it goes
- 24:21Speaker 1: Turk get out of here.
- 24:27Speaker 2: Many times. But Turk really was there. He stole the cookies.
- 24:30Speaker 1: He's outside eating, Yeah, the cookies, which I don't think
- 24:33Speaker 1: is good for your diabetes to eat a whole dozen cookies. Hey,
- 24:38Speaker 1: I don't know much as a fake doctor, but I
- 24:40Speaker 1: don't think my stepfather has diabetes. And he was munch
- 24:45Speaker 1: he was munching on desserts. And he's got this little
- 24:47Speaker 1: alarm like you know nowadays, you have this thing on
- 24:50Speaker 1: your side and then it warns your phone if your
- 24:52Speaker 1: if your insulin levels are off. That shit was beeping
- 24:55Speaker 1: like hell on Mother's Day.
- 24:56Speaker 2: And he was like, I don't care. I'm in it
- 24:58Speaker 2: to win it.
- 24:58Speaker 1: No, he knew what to do, but he's devouring some
- 25:01Speaker 1: cookies and.
- 25:02Speaker 2: You hear like, Okay, this is what I don't understand.
- 25:07Speaker 2: J D and Elliott are dating. They've been dating for
- 25:10Speaker 2: a week, but they haven't had lived together. But they're
- 25:13Speaker 2: not banging.
- 25:14Speaker 1: That's not realistic. They say they're gonna they say they're
- 25:18Speaker 1: gonna take it slow, but they're living together and back
- 25:21Speaker 1: in love for a week and they haven't had sexual relations.
- 25:25Speaker 2: She made them cookies, but god, that would have been
- 25:30Speaker 2: we would have been fucking like that. Oh you made
- 25:32Speaker 2: chocolate chip cookies. A word, A word? You know what.
- 25:40Speaker 2: I love you girl.
- 25:42Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean it's not realistic. They're in bed together,
- 25:45Speaker 1: sleeping and they're a couple, and they not to mention
- 25:48Speaker 1: that they've had lots of sex before and they're not
- 25:52Speaker 1: having sex. But okay, they say they're trying to take
- 25:55Speaker 1: it slow.
- 25:55Speaker 2: Okay, So the piano was the first callback. Second callback
- 25:58Speaker 2: was the pretend phone. Yea. Cox is walking in the
- 26:02Speaker 2: hospital and he's acting like he's on the phone so
- 26:05Speaker 2: he doesn't have to talk to Kelso. He puts the
- 26:07Speaker 2: phone away. Okay, I'll talk to you later. They walk
- 26:10Speaker 2: and talk. Finally, Cox gets on Kelso's nerves and Kelso
- 26:14Speaker 2: takes out his pretent flip phone and says, oh, I
- 26:16Speaker 2: got to take this and walks away. Yeah, that's a call.
- 26:19Speaker 2: That was another callback. And then the janitor trying to
- 26:22Speaker 2: be the doctor. He's a doctor in the r and
- 26:26Speaker 2: then as Cox walks by him, he's still a doctor
- 26:29Speaker 2: going someplace else.
- 26:30Speaker 1: Yeah, this was all in the first.
- 26:34Speaker 2: It was callback, callback, callback, all in the first five
- 26:38Speaker 2: minutes of the show.
- 26:39Speaker 1: Yeah, that was funny.
- 26:41Speaker 2: And he even starts it even starts with Cox going wow,
- 26:44Speaker 2: he bought it back.
- 26:46Speaker 1: Yeah, acknowledging the we should mention. It was directed by
- 26:49Speaker 1: Gail Mancuso of Ohosa. I think she won an Enny
- 26:53Speaker 1: for Modern Family at least one. She became one of
- 26:57Speaker 1: the big Modern Family directors, but she was one of
- 27:00Speaker 1: our favorite directors. Cal Mancuso and written by Clarence Livingston
- 27:04Speaker 1: My Cookie Pants Season eight, We're mispronouncing endoscopy the whole
- 27:09Speaker 1: episode scrubs WICKI taught me Donald, you don't say it,
- 27:14Speaker 1: but every actor that says it is saying it wrong,
- 27:16Speaker 1: which is not good for fake doctors. Real JD missed this.
- 27:21Speaker 1: I think we call it, I think we see endoscopy
- 27:24Speaker 1: and it's endoscopy and we're doctors.
- 27:26Speaker 2: I think everybody says endoscopy. Even doctors say I'm going
- 27:29Speaker 2: to go get an endoscopy.
- 27:30Speaker 1: Endoscopy if you're curious. It's the correct way to say it.
- 27:32Speaker 1: And all the characters in this show who are doctors
- 27:34Speaker 1: say it wrong. So real JD must have been TL Truvor.
- 27:37Speaker 2: I must still say endoscopy when I'm on auditions and stuff.
- 27:40Speaker 1: I feel like real JD must have been working on
- 27:43Speaker 1: an actual heart that day. Okay, so there's a lot
- 27:47Speaker 1: going on. Joe is still being classic Joe Denise, and
- 27:52Speaker 1: she says that mister Lawton, who's a favorite patient of JD's,
- 27:55Speaker 1: is heart disease, is a buzzkill. So she's really just
- 28:00Speaker 1: unrealistically horrible with her bedside matter.
- 28:04Speaker 2: But she shows she shows uh that she's starting to
- 28:08Speaker 2: soften in early on an episode with the pillow and stuff.
- 28:14Speaker 2: I noticed that right away she.
- 28:16Speaker 1: Does use a pillow, which we're supposed to notice, but
- 28:19Speaker 1: she's I don't know, no offense to everyone who wrote this,
- 28:23Speaker 1: but I just find it a little bit that she's
- 28:25Speaker 1: cartoonishly rude.
- 28:27Speaker 2: I don't know if she's cartoonishly rude, more is she
- 28:30Speaker 2: just doesn't want to connect with the patients, and she
- 28:31Speaker 2: uses this as at least that's how I looked at it.
- 28:34Speaker 2: She looked at it as a this is her defense
- 28:37Speaker 2: mechanism from doing that. Right.
- 28:39Speaker 1: Well, we're gonna get to that. When she opens up
- 28:41Speaker 1: to JD. Cox is offered the chief of medicine position.
- 28:46Speaker 1: He tells Jordan she's very excited more money. She wants money.
- 28:52Speaker 1: She wants the nanny to have a nanny.
- 28:54Speaker 2: Right, yeah, so that she doesn't have to listen to
- 28:56Speaker 2: the nanny's She.
- 28:58Speaker 1: Doesn't want to have to talk to the nanny her
- 29:00Speaker 1: own question. There's another episode where she says something about
- 29:05Speaker 1: how the nanny's mother died and she's been avoiding her
- 29:08Speaker 1: all day so she doesn't have to console her. Jordan
- 29:14Speaker 1: really has a big heart. Cox pretends to care about
- 29:18Speaker 1: JD and Barbie being back together, and JD's trying to
- 29:21Speaker 1: convince himself not to fall for the trick. Don't believe him,
- 29:25Speaker 1: but then he does. He's so happy to share, and
- 29:29Speaker 1: we learned that Cox is just fucking and he doesn't care.
- 29:31Speaker 1: Judy Rays is not in this episode, as we know.
- 29:35Speaker 1: As we know, in season eight, everybody took at least
- 29:38Speaker 1: one episode off, and Carla has left the country, and Elliott,
- 29:44Speaker 1: in a very funny monologue, Sarah says, I know that
- 29:47Speaker 1: you're she's on the phone talking leaving a message for Carla,
- 29:50Speaker 1: and she says, I know that your aunt did not
- 29:52Speaker 1: fall out of that balloon on purpose.
- 29:56Speaker 2: Yeah, I thought that was interesting that Carla was going
- 30:00Speaker 2: going through things that Elliott's character would go through.
- 30:05Speaker 4: I know.
- 30:05Speaker 1: But so in this, in the world of Scrubs, Carla.
- 30:09Speaker 2: Went home without Turk to Chicago. Is it Chicago, that's
- 30:16Speaker 2: where she's from? If she went home, she said, of
- 30:19Speaker 2: the country.
- 30:19Speaker 1: Though no, I think she went to a Dominican Republic,
- 30:23Speaker 1: or so she went to the dr for the last time, Turk,
- 30:26Speaker 1: I'm Dominican. That's always remember what her what her ethnicity
- 30:29Speaker 1: is she But listen, in the world of Scrubs, not
- 30:34Speaker 1: in the fantasy. She's gone home to investigate her aunt
- 30:39Speaker 1: falling out of a balloon and whether it was on
- 30:42Speaker 1: purpose or accidental.
- 30:47Speaker 2: But then she's like, but then Elliott gets upset at
- 30:50Speaker 2: the answer machine because she knows that Carla would be
- 30:52Speaker 2: giving her an attitude at that moment.
- 30:54Speaker 1: Right, Sarah's very funny in that, Yeah.
- 30:57Speaker 2: Very funny and she's asked she she's calling to because
- 31:00Speaker 2: she can't come up with the way to seduce JD
- 31:03Speaker 2: that night.
- 31:03Speaker 1: Right, she promised him a sexy sex night, crazy sex night.
- 31:06Speaker 2: Right because they haven't had sex. They're living together and
- 31:09Speaker 2: they're not bagging.
- 31:10Speaker 1: Oh that's right, I forgot that piece of it. They
- 31:12Speaker 1: haven't had sex, and if they're gonna finally have sex,
- 31:14Speaker 1: she wants to be really sexy and have it be
- 31:18Speaker 1: particularly naughty. And she says that she got in a
- 31:21Speaker 1: fight with her waxer. I don't know how she got
- 31:24Speaker 1: in a fight with her waxer, but she did get
- 31:26Speaker 1: in a fight with her waxer. And now she has
- 31:27Speaker 1: a quote rash on her bajingo that looks like a
- 31:31Speaker 1: thousand tiny spider bites. So in this world, the waxer
- 31:37Speaker 1: took revenge on Elliott for some conversation they had. She
- 31:43Speaker 1: got mad at her and then hurt her jingle.
- 31:45Speaker 2: Is that possible? Like, I get it if you get
- 31:48Speaker 2: like ingrowns. So like I can't shave my face because
- 31:52Speaker 2: I get with a straight razor because I get ingrowned,
- 31:55Speaker 2: So I have to shave it with uh, you know,
- 31:58Speaker 2: clippers and stuff like that. Electrically. Right, if you get wax,
- 32:04Speaker 2: you usually don't have that problem, right.
- 32:06Speaker 5: Unless we get waxed against the grain.
- 32:10Speaker 2: Now learning, So you're.
- 32:12Speaker 1: Learning, Joelle, what you're saying is the waxer because she
- 32:15Speaker 1: was livid at Elliott waxed her against the grain.
- 32:18Speaker 2: That's what it sounds like, Oh.
- 32:22Speaker 1: Yeah, or maybe or.
- 32:24Speaker 2: Wax what okay? So and in ferior? What is it?
- 32:26Speaker 2: It breaks the hair off?
- 32:28Speaker 5: You don't.
- 32:28Speaker 2: It doesn't pull it all out.
- 32:30Speaker 5: It's not as like so wax. You have to reach
- 32:33Speaker 5: a certain temperature when you're melting it, you know what
- 32:36Speaker 5: I mean, in order for to apply it that you
- 32:38Speaker 5: get like a smooth rip off. But if you only
- 32:41Speaker 5: like partially melt and it's cool, it's not gonna give
- 32:44Speaker 5: you the full like rip effect and totally like residue
- 32:47Speaker 5: on your skin and they'll be like patchy hairs and stuff.
- 32:50Speaker 2: I'm gonna be honest with you. Wax waxing sounds amazing
- 32:54Speaker 2: up until the ripoff. It sounds like it's the best
- 32:57Speaker 2: thing ever.
- 32:57Speaker 5: If you have a good person doing it, it can
- 32:59Speaker 5: be great. It's totally fine.
- 33:01Speaker 2: It sounds like they put like a warm massage with
- 33:04Speaker 2: wax around your digitals and then out of nowhere.
- 33:09Speaker 1: I feel so bad for women that choose to do
- 33:12Speaker 1: this that they have to have that experience on their
- 33:15Speaker 1: labia majora.
- 33:18Speaker 5: You get up when you develop a very close relationship
- 33:21Speaker 5: with your waxer. It could be called you know, it's
- 33:24Speaker 5: just it's a whatever experience.
- 33:26Speaker 1: Like Donald, have you ever had anything waxed on your body? No?
- 33:30Speaker 1: But I'm thinking about do you think people wax their scrotums?
- 33:34Speaker 4: Oh?
- 33:34Speaker 1: Yeah, that does fucking hurt.
- 33:37Speaker 2: You don't ever pull a hair out, like from your
- 33:39Speaker 2: balls or anything like that. I do a little.
- 33:40Speaker 1: I do a little manscaping, but I don't do wax.
- 33:43Speaker 1: That sounds horrible.
- 33:44Speaker 2: Have you ever just reached down into your pants twisted
- 33:46Speaker 2: your hair and then pull No?
- 33:48Speaker 1: Why do you do that?
- 33:50Speaker 4: What?
- 33:51Speaker 2: Why would you?
- 33:51Speaker 1: Curiosity are? That would work? If you want the Denzel
- 34:00Speaker 1: and glory to here, you just pull out scor hair.
- 34:02Speaker 2: You ever just say to somebody? Do you ever just
- 34:04Speaker 2: say to somebody give me a spanking?
- 34:07Speaker 4: No? Not me?
- 34:08Speaker 2: Have you? Wait?
- 34:10Speaker 1: Donald?
- 34:11Speaker 5: No? No?
- 34:12Speaker 3: If you do, I mean that's great, no judgment.
- 34:14Speaker 1: I just want to know your truth. Wait, Donald, I
- 34:17Speaker 1: have a question. Would you ever get if for the podcast?
- 34:21Speaker 1: Would you consider getting your scrotum and taint and shaft baxed.
- 34:26Speaker 2: No, because I get ingruns.
- 34:28Speaker 1: But what if we did it live on the podcast
- 34:30Speaker 1: for entertainment, for the for the guests, for the listeners,
- 34:34Speaker 1: and the non video, just audio.
- 34:37Speaker 2: And the words of Randy Jackson. That's a no for me.
- 34:40Speaker 4: Dog.
- 34:42Speaker 1: What about your enus? What about your between your cheeks?
- 34:46Speaker 2: Yeah, that's a no for me. Dog. All right.
- 34:48Speaker 1: I was trying to make some good, some good entertainment
- 34:50Speaker 1: for the listeners.
- 34:51Speaker 2: That's not entertainment. That's freaking torture. Saying. Look what we
- 34:55Speaker 2: want to do, y'all is we're gonna torture Donald and
- 34:58Speaker 2: we're gonna laugh at this. Motherfucker.
- 35:00Speaker 1: No, I would do it too. I would do it too.
- 35:02Speaker 1: I'm saying that for our listeners because we love them
- 35:04Speaker 1: so much. You could we could bring this, We bring
- 35:06Speaker 1: the zoom recorder to a waxer and we both get
- 35:09Speaker 1: our change.
- 35:10Speaker 2: I've seen how harry you are.
- 35:13Speaker 1: I'm not that hairy.
- 35:14Speaker 2: What are you talking about in your crack area?
- 35:16Speaker 4: No?
- 35:17Speaker 2: No, what he just looked at is shite. Okay, somebody's
- 35:21Speaker 2: working out somebody too.
- 35:23Speaker 3: Good, bro.
- 35:24Speaker 1: I've been doing the cold plunge too, cold plunge sauna,
- 35:26Speaker 1: cold plunch sauna. What are you doing that at at
- 35:29Speaker 1: Andrew Watts House? And you do fifteen You do fifteen
- 35:32Speaker 1: minutes in the sauna, two minutes in like thirty nine
- 35:36Speaker 1: degree water, and then fifteen minutes in the sauna and
- 35:39Speaker 1: then two minutes in the cold plunge again, and you
- 35:41Speaker 1: feel so good. You feel high on life, and it
- 35:44Speaker 1: also increases your metabolism and has all these other benefits. Shit,
- 35:49Speaker 1: you want to join me, I'm gonna try, and I'm
- 35:51Speaker 1: gonna you can come sometime. I got up to two minutes,
- 35:54Speaker 1: dude in the water. You got to take your mind
- 35:57Speaker 1: to a really zen place. You have to quiet your
- 35:59Speaker 1: brain down and you focus on your breath. Remember Johnny
- 36:02Speaker 1: C was talking about it. I sent Johnny C a
- 36:05Speaker 1: video my first attempt, and he just berated me. It's like,
- 36:10Speaker 1: what the hell I sent my video and I was
- 36:13Speaker 1: panicked my first time, And you panic the first time
- 36:15Speaker 1: because it's it's tough, and he's like, what the hell
- 36:18Speaker 1: are you doing? Who the hell is advising you? It
- 36:20Speaker 1: was like Cox, It was like Cox and JD. He
- 36:22Speaker 1: was like, this is fucking ridiculous. Don't send me this ship.
- 36:25Speaker 1: You got to come to my house and I'm gonna
- 36:27Speaker 1: show you how to do it. And I was like, dude,
- 36:29Speaker 1: no notes on take one, Broy. We should take a break.
- 36:39Speaker 1: We'll be right back after these words.
- 36:49Speaker 2: Zach eat eats balls, Zach, and we're.
- 36:54Speaker 1: Back, all right, back into the show scrubs so.
- 36:57Speaker 2: Kelso warns Cox that it's not easy to be the
- 37:01Speaker 2: chief of medicine. Cox gets cold feet, yes, just before
- 37:07Speaker 2: the act break, yeah, and decides, you know what, I
- 37:12Speaker 2: don't want to do this anymore. I take it back.
- 37:15Speaker 1: Yeah, he would. He tells me everyone's gonna hate you.
- 37:18Speaker 1: It's an extraordinary amount of work and added to your
- 37:21Speaker 1: already insane amount of work. Plus you have a family.
- 37:24Speaker 1: And also the bonus, the cherry on top, is that
- 37:27Speaker 1: everyone in this hospital will hate you. And Cox, who
- 37:30Speaker 1: was really liking the idea and the honor and you know,
- 37:33Speaker 1: the status of the I'm sure the rays of the position,
- 37:37Speaker 1: totally gets cold feet. Kelso gets in his head. The
- 37:41Speaker 1: other thing that happens for the act break is that
- 37:43Speaker 1: JD tells Joe that she's not a good doctor.
- 37:47Speaker 2: Well, let's go back and say why.
- 37:48Speaker 1: He tells her this Okay, sorry, you're right. There's a
- 37:51Speaker 1: whole thing about She orders endoscopy said correctly on mister Lawton,
- 37:59Speaker 1: and Jady's like, no, that's a very painful procedure. The man,
- 38:03Speaker 1: it's totally what the hell's wrong with you? And she's like,
- 38:05Speaker 1: who cares if it cause him pain? We gotta do
- 38:07Speaker 1: the fucking test kind of attitude, and Jed's like, that's
- 38:10Speaker 1: not my vibe. I like the guy, and I'm I
- 38:12Speaker 1: don't want to hurt him, and he really gives it
- 38:16Speaker 1: to her, fucking rails into her and says, if you
- 38:18Speaker 1: can't fucking learn, She.
- 38:20Speaker 2: Goes does it anyway? Yes, she says she. He says,
- 38:23Speaker 2: I don't want you to do it, and she does
- 38:24Speaker 2: it anyway, right, And then he steps to her and
- 38:30Speaker 2: says some pretty harsh things. Yeah, and it's about to.
- 38:34Speaker 2: It's about to. He's telling her, are you going to
- 38:37Speaker 2: regret this day that you crossed me? You should have
- 38:40Speaker 2: you know. He's given her the whole monologue about no,
- 38:45Speaker 2: about how he's right and she's wrong for doing what
- 38:48Speaker 2: she's done. And someone comes up to Denise and says,
- 38:53Speaker 2: you know, good catch with the endoscopy. That was a
- 38:55Speaker 2: smart thing. To do there and right, like I said,
- 39:00Speaker 2: discussion and uh and uh and JD has to eat crow.
- 39:07Speaker 1: Yes he does, and he and he and he he's
- 39:11Speaker 1: very Uh well you did get.
- 39:13Speaker 2: Very apologetic, he's very Did he get to what.
- 39:16Speaker 1: Well did you get to the part where he she
- 39:18Speaker 1: realizes that she has stomach cancer.
- 39:22Speaker 2: Yeah, well that's the when the and and and I'm confusing,
- 39:27Speaker 2: just hit you just hit dos and doscopy and when
- 39:30Speaker 2: the endoscopy this guy.
- 39:34Speaker 1: This fucking what you're trying to get into one day,
- 39:38Speaker 1: shoon what you're trying to do.
- 39:40Speaker 2: Well, it reveals that the that the man has cancer stomach.
- 39:44Speaker 1: Right, so Joe actually saved his fucking life. And j
- 39:47Speaker 1: D looks like an idiot because you know, he he
- 39:51Speaker 1: really was. He was being too sensitive. He was he
- 39:55Speaker 1: was looking out for the man's feelings as opposed to
- 39:57Speaker 1: doing the correct by the book test. So so Joe's hardenedness,
- 40:02Speaker 1: her her coldness, I should say, actually ended up saving
- 40:07Speaker 1: this man's life because uh, you know, she's the polar
- 40:11Speaker 1: opposite of JD. And and in the in the end,
- 40:15Speaker 1: he'll admit that that they both actually could learn something
- 40:18Speaker 1: from one another.
- 40:19Speaker 2: And Elliott has now recruited uh Turk to help her
- 40:24Speaker 2: with her.
- 40:27Speaker 1: Sexy night.
- 40:28Speaker 2: Yeah, I guess that's the way to put it with
- 40:30Speaker 2: j D. When I was thinking though when that, when
- 40:32Speaker 2: I watched it, I was like, well, who else would
- 40:33Speaker 2: she go to? Who else is going to know? I know?
- 40:36Speaker 1: But it is funny when she's like, help me plan
- 40:38Speaker 1: what would JD want for his sexiest night? But don't
- 40:41Speaker 1: you think tries to walk away really like you wouldn't
- 40:45Speaker 1: know what I would want for my sexiest night.
- 40:47Speaker 2: I'm sure for your sexiest night, Zack.
- 40:52Speaker 1: Yeah, you probably could figure it out. You probably could
- 40:54Speaker 1: figure it out. Come on, bro, I don't talk about it, Okay, Yeah,
- 40:59Speaker 1: I'm not going to say.
- 41:02Speaker 2: All I would one is this eat these bowls?
- 41:04Speaker 5: Zach?
- 41:06Speaker 1: How funny is it? This is the hardest. I laughed
- 41:08Speaker 1: this whole episode. When the Janitor's talking about his grandpa
- 41:11Speaker 1: and how his grandpa said to him, he said, quote Janitor.
- 41:14Speaker 1: So the great Jade Janitor's grandpa calls him Janitor, called
- 41:19Speaker 1: him Janitor.
- 41:19Speaker 2: When he was a kid. Well, he called him Jenner
- 41:21Speaker 2: because he's not dead yet.
- 41:22Speaker 1: He's right, that's funny too, But he goes Janitor. Oh no,
- 41:26Speaker 1: I think that's his dad that's upstairs, Janitor. This is
- 41:30Speaker 1: his grandpa.
- 41:30Speaker 2: Janitor's dead. It's his grandpa that's upstairs. He's not dead. Yeah,
- 41:35Speaker 2: he's not dead.
- 41:36Speaker 1: Wow, Neil Flynn's grandpa is alive. That's a that's an
- 41:40Speaker 1: old fellow the show. Okay, no, I'm saying that Janitor's
- 41:44Speaker 1: grandfather is probably up there.
- 41:46Speaker 2: Janitor's grandfather isn't in the building. That dude is dead, man,
- 41:49Speaker 2: he's making this ship up.
- 41:51Speaker 1: Oh okay, God, it come on, bro, guys. I forgot,
- 41:53Speaker 1: I forgot, I forgot. Wait. So anyway, the point is
- 41:57Speaker 1: janetor every time an angry woman storms out, another one's
- 42:00Speaker 1: storms in. And he establishes that, and yeah, and then
- 42:05Speaker 1: and then he says, and of course Jordan walks in
- 42:08Speaker 1: super pissed off, and he's Janner's proud of himself, and
- 42:11Speaker 1: he says that one's for you. Pop up and he
- 42:14Speaker 1: points to the sky when meaning heaven. And then he
- 42:17Speaker 1: says to JD, I believe he's not dead. He's upstairs,
- 42:22Speaker 1: all right.
- 42:26Speaker 2: I love that. There's a freaking Rocky three moment. What's
- 42:29Speaker 2: that when Jordan steps to Cox and gives him the
- 42:34Speaker 2: pep talk. There's that one, and then also when when
- 42:37Speaker 2: Kelso steps to Cox also and he has to admit
- 42:40Speaker 2: that he's afraid. Yeah, that's Rocky like a mother Frocky three.
- 42:44Speaker 2: He's dodging around all of these reasons why he doesn't
- 42:47Speaker 2: want to do it. I want to be liked, I
- 42:48Speaker 2: want all of this stuff. I don't want all of
- 42:50Speaker 2: this stuff. I don't want this. I don't want this. Well,
- 42:52Speaker 2: what is it. We've got this, we've got this, we've
- 42:54Speaker 2: got this, But what we don't have, rock is we
- 42:57Speaker 2: don't have the truth. I'm afraid. You want to hear
- 43:00Speaker 2: me saying I'm afraid.
- 43:03Speaker 1: That's Rocky three, Rocky three. Well, there you go, and
- 43:07Speaker 1: that's what Cox has. Yeah, he's afraid.
- 43:10Speaker 2: It has nothing to do with anything else. It has
- 43:13Speaker 2: nothing to do with the fact that the money is more.
- 43:15Speaker 2: It has nothing to do with the fact that he's
- 43:17Speaker 2: not confident. It has nothing to do with the fact
- 43:19Speaker 2: that people are gonna hate him. It has nothing to
- 43:21Speaker 2: do with any of that, like it has for everybody
- 43:23Speaker 2: who makes excuses when success is at the front door
- 43:27Speaker 2: and you're scared to fucking open it. And he's having
- 43:30Speaker 2: that moment that we all have, and he's lucky to
- 43:33Speaker 2: have that. That's what's great about television is that he's
- 43:36Speaker 2: lucky to have people around him that will support him
- 43:40Speaker 2: and make sure that he doesn't fall on his face
- 43:42Speaker 2: when he takes when he starts this big adventure, and
- 43:45Speaker 2: it's really fucking it's really that's In watching the show,
- 43:48Speaker 2: I was like, Wow, would Scrubs have done it like
- 43:51Speaker 2: this before? Like how would have we gotten all the
- 43:55Speaker 2: way to here before? Because this way it seemed really wholesome,
- 43:58Speaker 2: you know what I mean, seemed wrapped up in a
- 44:01Speaker 2: nice little bow and everything like that. And we've and
- 44:04Speaker 2: and before we got to ABC, it felt like on
- 44:08Speaker 2: NBC nothing was ever wrapped up in a in a
- 44:12Speaker 2: nice little bow.
- 44:13Speaker 1: I disagree with you. There were so many nice, sweet,
- 44:16Speaker 1: wrapped up bows at the end of it.
- 44:17Speaker 2: But it always there was always some form of tragedy
- 44:21Speaker 2: in order to get to that, you know what I mean.
- 44:23Speaker 2: And this one, the dude doesn't die. He has stomach cancer.
- 44:27Speaker 2: You've guys caught it, you know what I mean.
- 44:30Speaker 1: I don't know if he lives. We diagnosed him.
- 44:32Speaker 2: As of right now, he's alive. Cox got the job.
- 44:37Speaker 2: Everything's pretty hunky dory. You come home to a perfect night, and.
- 44:41Speaker 1: You're going too fast. So JD has an intervention with Joe,
- 44:45Speaker 1: or at least a heart to heart, and he calls
- 44:48Speaker 1: her the mayor of crazy Town, and she she says,
- 44:51Speaker 1: stop doing that, you know. She finally kind of again,
- 44:54Speaker 1: I guess in your analogy, has a bit of a
- 44:56Speaker 1: rocky moment and she says, I want to be pushed
- 44:59Speaker 1: to be better. Stop stop, you know, she said, I don't.
- 45:03Speaker 1: I'm very good at the nuts and bolts. I know
- 45:06Speaker 1: how to diagnose, I know how to to do the science.
- 45:09Speaker 1: I just don't. I don't feel comfortable with the bedside manner,
- 45:13Speaker 1: and I don't want you to stop pushing me. She
- 45:16Speaker 1: finally blurts out, and JD points out in a really
- 45:21Speaker 1: sweet montage that every doctor has their flaws. Cox is
- 45:25Speaker 1: getting is constantly getting his own way Elliott, and we
- 45:29Speaker 1: cut to him doing that. Elliott is fighting all of
- 45:31Speaker 1: her neurosis and we see her doing that and JD
- 45:34Speaker 1: says that, you know, he wants to. He wanted to
- 45:39Speaker 1: spare a patient a painful procedure that actually ended up
- 45:44Speaker 1: diagnosing him with cancer that could save his life, so
- 45:48Speaker 1: he cares too much. And then she says I'm the
- 45:52Speaker 1: kind of the dude and you're the chick or something
- 45:54Speaker 1: like that. That's what she says, and he goes, I'm
- 45:56Speaker 1: not really getting that simile, Joe. At least we see
- 45:59Speaker 1: a limmer that Joe is gonna maybe turn the corner, I.
- 46:04Speaker 2: Mean a spoiler alert, she'll be back season nine.
- 46:09Speaker 1: Yeah, what about the Todd thing. Elliott's knocking on the
- 46:12Speaker 1: door of the surgical of the operating room, and Todd says,
- 46:17Speaker 1: if it doesn't hurt you, you're not doing it right.
- 46:19Speaker 2: Yeah, meaning.
- 46:22Speaker 1: About sex. Not even that means, but it's I guess.
- 46:25Speaker 1: I guess Todd doesn't have sex that doesn't hurt.
- 46:29Speaker 2: I mean, it hurts so good. It hurts. Hold on,
- 46:32Speaker 2: it hurts so good. Sounds like that's a term that's
- 46:37Speaker 2: used all the time, isn't it. Oh, it hurts so good.
- 46:39Speaker 2: I know Todd. That's what Kelly LeBrock says.
- 46:42Speaker 1: In Weird Science, we learn one more thing about Todd
- 46:45Speaker 1: in that he doesn't feel sexually satisfied unless he's in pain.
- 46:51Speaker 2: There must be a lot of hair pulling.
- 46:54Speaker 1: Or maybe you know those people put those clamps on nipples.
- 46:58Speaker 1: I bet Todd's into that. No judgment Todd no judgment. Okay, now, car,
- 47:06Speaker 1: I gotta tell you, I got goosebumps. If you're gonna
- 47:08Speaker 1: put on Josh Raiden's song, I'd rather be with you.
- 47:12Speaker 2: I need to be cold. I need to jump in
- 47:14Speaker 2: the cold.
- 47:15Speaker 1: No, I need to I want to be bold, need
- 47:17Speaker 1: to jump in the cold. Baugh to wanna girl holder
- 47:20Speaker 1: with a girl like you? Dan, will you remind me
- 47:23Speaker 1: let's put that song at the end of the show,
- 47:24Speaker 1: since Josh Raiden will allow us to, uh, and I'll
- 47:27Speaker 1: do one of my old school talk ups to it
- 47:30Speaker 1: is that the expression Daniel a talk kay talking up
- 47:33Speaker 1: to the end, to the end. Yeah, remind me to
- 47:34Speaker 1: talk up the Josh Raiden song. I haven't talked up
- 47:36Speaker 1: a song in so long. Daniel excited, So Cox is
- 47:41Speaker 1: afraid we covered that. Kelso has to go, oh, that
- 47:46Speaker 1: was sweet. So the combination of Josh Raiden's song and
- 47:49Speaker 1: Kelso telling Cox that he's the one who recommended him,
- 47:52Speaker 1: that gave me like full body goosebumps. I thought that
- 47:55Speaker 1: was so sweet, you know what?
- 47:56Speaker 2: And that was the one thing I did see coming.
- 48:01Speaker 2: I knew and for some reason, maybe it's because the
- 48:06Speaker 2: way it played out, I saw that coming I was
- 48:08Speaker 2: the one that freaking I'm the one that put the
- 48:10Speaker 2: recommendation in. I'm the one that said you could do this.
- 48:13Speaker 2: I saw that coming. What I didn't see coming was
- 48:16Speaker 2: him trying to deter him from taking the job. I
- 48:19Speaker 2: didn't see that coming. I saw, I saw. I skipped
- 48:22Speaker 2: all of the middle part and jumped right to the end.
- 48:25Speaker 2: You know what I mean.
- 48:27Speaker 1: Well, And also we reveal that they're kind of becoming friends, right,
- 48:30Speaker 1: which is a sweet moment when Cox is declared the
- 48:33Speaker 1: new chief and Jordan is so happy and they hug,
- 48:36Speaker 1: and then you pull out to reveal that Kelse was
- 48:38Speaker 1: trying to join the hug, which was like a very
- 48:42Speaker 1: very gd thing. Too soon, Yeah, it's too soon.
- 48:45Speaker 2: And also we find out Turk cries during sex.
- 48:48Speaker 1: Yeah we do. I skipped that. Yeah, you that's what
- 48:52Speaker 1: sets up not me, Turk. Have you ever cried during sex?
- 48:56Speaker 1: There's no shame in crime acting.
- 48:57Speaker 2: No, No, I've never cried during sex.
- 49:00Speaker 1: To quote the TV show Scrubs, there's no shame in
- 49:02Speaker 1: crime acxing.
- 49:04Speaker 2: Let's put that. Well, I'm put this out there right now.
- 49:06Speaker 2: If I'm having sex with somebody and they start crying,
- 49:09Speaker 2: I'm gonna stop having sex with them.
- 49:12Speaker 1: No, I think that, I think the implication. No, I
- 49:15Speaker 1: think in this the show, Carla reports that you cry
- 49:20Speaker 1: from probably just being in love. Where you cry from
- 49:25Speaker 1: you know, you're so moved that you you crime acts.
- 49:30Speaker 1: That's what sets the Todd up to say what happens
- 49:35Speaker 1: is Elliott yells through the operating room window. Carla says
- 49:38Speaker 1: that you cry sometimes, and then you're embarrassed, and then me,
- 49:44Speaker 1: not me, then Turks embarrassed. Oh my god, shut up,
- 49:48Speaker 1: Turks embarrassing, and then the Todd says, if it doesn't hurt,
- 49:51Speaker 1: you're not doing it right. Oh my god, love Rob Maschio,
- 50:01Speaker 1: I miss missed that guy. We have a special guest,
- 50:04Speaker 1: did Joelle? Right?
- 50:05Speaker 2: We do have a guess.
- 50:06Speaker 5: They don't know if they're here yet.
- 50:08Speaker 2: Okay, you see the outtakes with Neil at the end
- 50:11Speaker 2: of the show, No, what happened? He does the whole
- 50:14Speaker 2: pop pop speech. He goes, he's upstairs. Yeah he's not,
- 50:17Speaker 2: he's not he's upstairs. He does one like that, he goes,
- 50:20Speaker 2: he's not dead, he's upstairs on the roof.
- 50:28Speaker 1: They chose, they chose the best one of bet because
- 50:30Speaker 1: he's not dead. He's upstairs, long pause, dying, I'll read
- 50:36Speaker 1: it some more trivia for you. The amount of sugar
- 50:39Speaker 1: in the cookies turk stole would likely harm him pretty
- 50:42Speaker 1: bad due to his diabetes. Mister cookie Pants was the
- 50:45Speaker 1: name of the puppet owned by doctor David Norris in
- 50:49Speaker 1: the episode My White Whale.
- 50:51Speaker 2: Chris Chris Maloney, Right, Chris maloneyes Chris Maloney.
- 50:53Speaker 1: Yet Chris, doctor Kelso says he's been rocking his muffin
- 50:58Speaker 1: slacks since he retired, even though he had never before
- 51:02Speaker 1: been seen wearing them. Uh, and we've seen him after
- 51:05Speaker 1: he's retired. So that's what Scrubs Wiki has to say
- 51:07Speaker 1: about this episode. Oh, our and our friend Aaron, who
- 51:14Speaker 1: was a background person for many, many many episodes, plays
- 51:18Speaker 1: nurse Paps and the one who comes and says good catch.
- 51:24Speaker 1: Aaron got a line, Aaron if it is in many, many,
- 51:26Speaker 1: many episodes of Scrubs, and was a very nice woman.
- 51:31Speaker 1: All Right, we're gonna take a break, and when we
- 51:33Speaker 1: come back, we have a special guest for you. You're
- 51:35Speaker 1: gonna be very excited.
- 51:35Speaker 2: I'm so excited. Fuck your sound effects machine and we're
- 51:45Speaker 2: budk is my best opera.
- 51:50Speaker 1: Do you know how many people babies that were latching
- 51:54Speaker 1: just unlatched.
- 51:56Speaker 2: Well, if they unlatched, they unlatched with a smile on
- 51:58Speaker 2: their face because.
- 51:58Speaker 1: They know are you are you playing? Are you playing Zelda?
- 52:04Speaker 2: I am not playing Zelda yet, Daniel.
- 52:06Speaker 1: Houzelda incredible, it's your favorite game.
- 52:10Speaker 3: It's really up there, It's really really up there. They
- 52:13Speaker 3: made Breath of the Wild even better, which is like
- 52:16Speaker 3: hard to that's high.
- 52:19Speaker 2: And that and that and now I'm about to go
- 52:21Speaker 2: smoke a blunt and fucking plays Elda.
- 52:24Speaker 1: Oh really, you enjoy?
- 52:25Speaker 3: I hope you enjoy.
- 52:26Speaker 1: Are you gonna pair the blunt with Zelda?
- 52:29Speaker 2: Well, I'm gonna pair the bong hit with Zelda. I
- 52:31Speaker 2: take I'm gonna go. I'm gonna do a bong hit
- 52:34Speaker 2: plays Elda.
- 52:35Speaker 4: Enjoy?
- 52:35Speaker 2: Okay, hopefully my kids don't get home from school before
- 52:40Speaker 2: they ruined all your fun. They fucking take all of
- 52:42Speaker 2: the fun out of everything.
- 52:44Speaker 1: Don'kay, you're a great advertisement for having children.
- 52:47Speaker 2: You want to get high, don't have kids.
- 52:50Speaker 1: My friend was over yesterday and I was just tossing
- 52:53Speaker 1: my dog's favorite toy in the pool, and the dog
- 52:55Speaker 1: was leaping into the pool and swimming, and it was
- 52:57Speaker 1: so fun and and he has a very young child,
- 52:59Speaker 1: and I this is it, right, this is what being
- 53:01Speaker 1: a parent is. Right. You just toss the ball and
- 53:02Speaker 1: they jump in the water and smile. And he's like, yeah,
- 53:05Speaker 1: it's just that easy. He's like, he's like, have you
- 53:09Speaker 1: ever been up at four forty five? Do you know
- 53:11Speaker 1: what four forty five am looks like? Ladies and gentlemen,
- 53:18Speaker 1: A very special guest, Doctor Brick aka doctor Penis. Let
- 53:21Speaker 1: him in, doctor Penis, everybody, this is what.
- 53:33Speaker 2: Doctor Darren Brick. Let me wait, Brick is a great
- 53:39Speaker 2: name for a penis. Doctor. I'm just gonna put it
- 53:41Speaker 2: out there.
- 53:42Speaker 1: Will you welcome the man? Welcome the man in before
- 53:46Speaker 1: you make a sex joke.
- 53:47Speaker 2: He say, hey, doctor Darren Brick, love your name.
- 53:55Speaker 1: Doctor Brick. Thanks for coming back on. You know, I
- 53:57Speaker 1: was thinking I told Joel that, I was thinking, like
- 54:00Speaker 1: what you You were so valuable to the podcast last
- 54:03Speaker 1: time you came on, and I think we should I'm
- 54:05Speaker 1: sure not everyone heard that episode, and we should have
- 54:07Speaker 1: you back on because you know, men need to get
- 54:10Speaker 1: their shit checked out, their their prostates and and everything,
- 54:15Speaker 1: and we could do a public service here on fake
- 54:17Speaker 1: doctors and remind men to get their prostates checked.
- 54:20Speaker 2: Now you just got your prostate checked, right, Zach.
- 54:23Speaker 1: I'm having some prostate issues too, and that's probably what
- 54:25Speaker 1: inspired me to have you on. I actually like Donald
- 54:28Speaker 1: anything that happens to me. I think I'm dying and
- 54:30Speaker 1: I have cancer, and I think I've been diagnosed with prostatitis,
- 54:36Speaker 1: which means I would know with no infection or anything.
- 54:39Speaker 1: The doctor just told me, I just have to It's
- 54:41Speaker 1: all stress related, he said, very people with stress and
- 54:44Speaker 1: people who do tons of stuff and are he said.
- 54:47Speaker 1: He said, med students get it all the time that
- 54:50Speaker 1: you can get an inflammation in the prostate. Can you
- 54:52Speaker 1: can you weigh on this? I don't have any infection
- 54:54Speaker 1: he tested for that?
- 54:56Speaker 4: Good? Yeah, I mean I would be the first thing
- 54:57Speaker 4: I actually wrote a review paper on, like chron across
- 55:00Speaker 4: titus chronic pelvic pain in men.
- 55:02Speaker 1: So I, oh, you're the perfect person for this. Yeah,
- 55:06Speaker 1: there's right before you answer, I just wanted to say
- 55:09Speaker 1: that to men. I also wanted to just share I
- 55:11Speaker 1: want to talk about prostect cancer and making sure men
- 55:13Speaker 1: get checked, but I also want to do a public
- 55:14Speaker 1: service for our audience, because I bet there's a lot
- 55:17Speaker 1: of men out there who have felt this feeling, and
- 55:19Speaker 1: the feeling is that you always have to pee. And
- 55:22Speaker 1: I of course went to, oh my god, I have
- 55:24Speaker 1: some sort of tumor and I'm dying. But when I
- 55:26Speaker 1: got it checked out, I believe I have a chronic prostatitis.
- 55:30Speaker 1: After a lot of going to a lot of doctors,
- 55:33Speaker 1: but I thought that you could maybe speak to people
- 55:36Speaker 1: about what are the symptoms of this and and what
- 55:39Speaker 1: the hell you can do, because it doesn't seem to
- 55:40Speaker 1: me like you can do much.
- 55:42Speaker 4: For sure, there are things that you can do that
- 55:45Speaker 4: have that have like successful treatment outcomes, which I'm happy
- 55:49Speaker 4: to talk about. I think to start all, definitely, I'll
- 55:52Speaker 4: say men in general are loath to go to doctors
- 55:57Speaker 4: for not just zerroologists, you know, primal care ment health,
- 56:01Speaker 4: everything else in between. And you know, I think there's
- 56:04Speaker 4: some sort of manliness that people think, or you're too busy,
- 56:08Speaker 4: you know, or you make an appointment in the doctor's
- 56:10Speaker 4: ployment is six months into the future, and it's like,
- 56:12Speaker 4: who can even think that far into the future because doctors,
- 56:15Speaker 4: you know, the schedules are so packed, but it's super important.
- 56:19Speaker 4: There's no reason to suffer, you know, even you're not
- 56:24Speaker 4: you don't have cancer, but even quality of life issues.
- 56:26Speaker 4: Things that we that I manage specifically are most equality
- 56:29Speaker 4: of life, or rectile dysfunction, penal curvature, low testosterone. None
- 56:33Speaker 4: of those things are necessarily going to kill you, but
- 56:36Speaker 4: you know they make your life better if you can
- 56:37Speaker 4: treat them. From a chronic pelvic pain, chronic prostatitis, I
- 56:42Speaker 4: you know, I see it in a lot of young
- 56:45Speaker 4: people who've been treated with antibiotics for years, and turns
- 56:49Speaker 4: out you don't really have an infection your urinary symptoms.
- 56:52Speaker 4: You know. The first thing we would want to do
- 56:54Speaker 4: is get your history and see there can be behavioral
- 56:57Speaker 4: things that you're doing. Drinking drinking a lot of liquid
- 57:00Speaker 4: in general make it be more. But drinking alcohol, a
- 57:02Speaker 4: lot of alcohol specifically a lot of coffee, coffee, Cafe
- 57:07Speaker 4: Beverly can irritate the bladder.
- 57:10Speaker 1: So even even like two cups a day, I would
- 57:13Speaker 1: say two is probably because I cut.
- 57:16Speaker 2: You can do two cups a day, send you to
- 57:19Speaker 2: the bath. That's real. No, no, no, no, he's not.
- 57:22Speaker 1: Talking about He's talking about the the irritation of the
- 57:25Speaker 1: prostate being caused by caffeine, right, and more of.
- 57:28Speaker 4: The bladder, you know, because the bladder and prostrate are
- 57:31Speaker 4: in proximity. You know, like constipation can also cause it
- 57:34Speaker 4: because the rectum is right behind that. So pigeons have
- 57:37Speaker 4: issues of constipation, will manage that. So these the first
- 57:39Speaker 4: things we usually talk about, our behavioral stuff that you
- 57:41Speaker 4: can do that have no risk and minimal cost and
- 57:47Speaker 4: probably boost your health if you're you know, cutting down.
- 57:49Speaker 1: What about what about ejaculation? Because I was told that
- 57:52Speaker 1: ejaculating often helps it, and and and.
- 57:58Speaker 2: Don't you ruin this for me?
- 58:00Speaker 4: Doc?
- 58:00Speaker 1: Don't you Donald's gonna go tell Casey that he has prostatitis,
- 58:04Speaker 1: So don't fuck this up, get hurt it.
- 58:06Speaker 4: But the problem there are a lot of people who
- 58:07Speaker 4: have this chroniccrost titus who when they ejaculate, have severe pain.
- 58:11Speaker 4: So that's one of the symptoms and that stucks, you know,
- 58:14Speaker 4: if it's.
- 58:15Speaker 1: Gonna I don't know. I don't know that God willing,
- 58:18Speaker 1: thank God.
- 58:18Speaker 4: Yeah. So from for for chroniccrass titus, there's no one
- 58:22Speaker 4: treatment like take this pill, do this thing and you'll
- 58:25Speaker 4: feel better. It's more based on the symptoms that you have.
- 58:29Speaker 4: So for instance, if you have you know, if you
- 58:32Speaker 4: have pain in the like super pubic peraneum like between
- 58:36Speaker 4: the balls and penus, or ball pain or like growing pain,
- 58:41Speaker 4: that kind of thing. There are so many pelvic muscles
- 58:45Speaker 4: that have to work in conjunction to help you pee,
- 58:47Speaker 4: to help you ejaculate, to help you have bowel movement,
- 58:50Speaker 4: that they can get over active and cause a lot
- 58:54Speaker 4: of pain, cause difficulty urinating, cause difficulty cooping, and you know,
- 59:01Speaker 4: and other urinary issues. So the first thing that we
- 59:04Speaker 4: usually recommend is pelvic floor physical therapy or even you
- 59:08Speaker 4: can look on YouTube and Google. They have like pelvic
- 59:11Speaker 4: floor relaxation techniques that has a lot of good data
- 59:16Speaker 4: behind it.
- 59:16Speaker 1: Do you do you agree with my doctor that this
- 59:19Speaker 1: is often brought on by stress.
- 59:21Speaker 4: Yeah, that was gonna be my My second thing was,
- 59:25Speaker 4: there's all you know, if if all the thing about
- 59:28Speaker 4: these symptoms that eventually they pass, if they didn't, then
- 59:33Speaker 4: all of these young people men and women also have
- 59:35Speaker 4: chronic pelvic pain related to stress and mental health you
- 59:40Speaker 4: know issues and other kind of just pelvic floor issues.
- 59:44Speaker 4: But if these didn't get better, then we would that
- 59:47Speaker 4: would be the only thing we'd seen in our office
- 59:48Speaker 4: these days. And what goes to say that, you know,
- 59:52Speaker 4: people who have severe stress. If they're a medical student,
- 59:54Speaker 4: for instance, and they're going through they're tough rotations, they
- 59:58Speaker 4: have chronic pelvic pain after a while, once they either
- 1:00:01Speaker 4: manage their stress, depression, and anxiety, that can also help
- 1:00:06Speaker 4: to see a mental health professional potentially for Yeah, that
- 1:00:11Speaker 4: was a great episode.
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: The other thing he recommended was a prostate massage, and
- 1:00:14Speaker 1: I didn't really notice any benefits from it.
- 1:00:17Speaker 4: Yeah, I wouldn't necessarily, you know, even urologists, primary care
- 1:00:21Speaker 4: doct whoever was that you saw, Like, that's not necessarily
- 1:00:24Speaker 4: our area of expertise. But public or physical therapists that
- 1:00:29Speaker 4: I don't. I'm actually not. I've never actually seen what
- 1:00:31Speaker 4: they do, but I've sent many patients to them, and
- 1:00:35Speaker 4: it's like any physical therapy with any other muscle or joint,
- 1:00:38Speaker 4: what do you do?
- 1:00:39Speaker 1: What's the what you tight like use like a kegel
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: like a woman does.
- 1:00:43Speaker 4: It's the opposite of kegels actually, So if you were
- 1:00:47Speaker 4: I would, I would because kegels are all about like
- 1:00:49Speaker 4: contracting those muscles to hold in, and that's what's causing
- 1:00:54Speaker 4: the problem. It's all about relactation technique. So I think
- 1:00:57Speaker 4: it's it's massage and these people, these these physical therapists
- 1:01:03Speaker 4: are are well trained in managing this.
- 1:01:07Speaker 1: Oh, this prostatitis is specifically.
- 1:01:10Speaker 4: Yeah or yeah. I think the the medical term that
- 1:01:13Speaker 4: we use for urologists is chronic cross the titis slash
- 1:01:17Speaker 4: chronic public pain and men and you want to obviously
- 1:01:20Speaker 4: rule out infection. That's what your doctor did. Some people
- 1:01:23Speaker 4: will have had antibiotics, like, yeah, the pain goes away,
- 1:01:26Speaker 4: want to take anabotics, but then it comes back, but
- 1:01:28Speaker 4: there's probably a placebo. Yeah, so it's that mental health
- 1:01:35Speaker 4: is management. Then there's always there are medications if you're
- 1:01:39Speaker 4: having difficulty being you know, as men get older, prosta
- 1:01:42Speaker 4: gets bigger, can get in the way.
- 1:01:44Speaker 1: And there's one called flomax, right.
- 1:01:47Speaker 4: Yeah, Flomax is a classic. Obviously there are side effects
- 1:01:51Speaker 4: to all medications, and don't take it without being prescribed
- 1:01:55Speaker 4: by your doctor.
- 1:01:55Speaker 1: Yes, of course you want to say that I have
- 1:01:57Speaker 1: I have a question. Yes, there's a question that No,
- 1:02:00Speaker 1: we can switch off price. Thank you for answering that. Donald,
- 1:02:03Speaker 1: your question for doctor, your question for doctor penis, go ahead.
- 1:02:05Speaker 2: My question for you. I have a couple of questions.
- 1:02:07Speaker 2: My first question is can chronic masturbation cause desencitation in
- 1:02:12Speaker 2: the penis?
- 1:02:14Speaker 1: No, I don't think desensitation is a word.
- 1:02:17Speaker 4: What's the sensitization. No, there's ways to masturbate to like
- 1:02:22Speaker 4: in the behavioral way, to learn how to last longer,
- 1:02:26Speaker 4: edging that kind of thing.
- 1:02:28Speaker 1: But edging he recommended. He just prescribed edging edge.
- 1:02:32Speaker 2: Yeah, that's how you get it ready.
- 1:02:34Speaker 4: Yeah, exactly.
- 1:02:37Speaker 2: When I'm about to hit the stage. When I'm about
- 1:02:39Speaker 2: to hit the stage, I can't go out. I can't
- 1:02:42Speaker 2: go out there. I can't go out there. Normal. I
- 1:02:44Speaker 2: gotta judge it a little.
- 1:02:45Speaker 1: Bit, doctor, doctor penis. Let's say there was a theoretical
- 1:02:49Speaker 1: fifty year old man whose libida was only increasing. Is
- 1:02:53Speaker 1: that is that normal?
- 1:02:55Speaker 2: I think so?
- 1:02:56Speaker 4: I think you know the there's all these talks a
- 1:03:00Speaker 4: testosterone getting lower as you get older. But I mean,
- 1:03:03Speaker 4: first of all, that's on the population size we're talking about.
- 1:03:06Speaker 2: So here's here's here's a question. Can if you over
- 1:03:10Speaker 2: can you over masturbate to the point where it it's tired?
- 1:03:15Speaker 4: I mean at a time or like I think, yeah,
- 1:03:18Speaker 4: I think you know, like in a matter of.
- 1:03:20Speaker 2: Time, like let's say, when when life comes out when on,
- 1:03:24Speaker 2: hold on, hold on, hold on. Let's say you've masturbated
- 1:03:27Speaker 2: for like a year, every day, two to three, maybe
- 1:03:32Speaker 2: four times a day. I'm not saying this is me.
- 1:03:34Speaker 2: I'm saying, let's say you curios.
- 1:03:37Speaker 1: I'm just asking for a friend, a friend.
- 1:03:41Speaker 2: Is it possible, Is it possible that your penis just
- 1:03:45Speaker 2: is like, I can't funk with you no more.
- 1:03:47Speaker 4: I don't just think so, but I think that it
- 1:03:49Speaker 4: would be. It would be hard to then orgasm without
- 1:03:53Speaker 4: the thing that you're masturbating with, which I think tends
- 1:03:55Speaker 4: to happen. And there's in people in general, like your
- 1:03:59Speaker 4: masterb in I don't know a certain way with a
- 1:04:02Speaker 4: certain lotion, But then when you're trying to have penetrative
- 1:04:05Speaker 4: intercourse with someone else, it's not the same the same.
- 1:04:09Speaker 2: That's that's That's what I was wondering, because you hear
- 1:04:13Speaker 2: about you hear about young adults now who are so
- 1:04:17Speaker 2: into porn and stuff like that, and all of a
- 1:04:20Speaker 2: sudden sex isn't as enjoyable because they've masturbated for so long.
- 1:04:29Speaker 2: This is this is real.
- 1:04:31Speaker 4: Yeah, I've I've heard I've heard of this stories just
- 1:04:34Speaker 4: out of your sexual Medicine conference and there was a
- 1:04:36Speaker 4: whole talk on pornography and that kind of thing, and
- 1:04:40Speaker 4: what we can do about it, and you know.
- 1:04:42Speaker 2: Nothing, don't do anything, don't do anything.
- 1:04:44Speaker 4: Dysfunction young in young men, how you know if healthy
- 1:04:50Speaker 4: guys you know, possibly related to posibly related to stress anxiety,
- 1:04:54Speaker 4: but always also possibly related to that.
- 1:04:56Speaker 2: So can you complete this debate for us? We having
- 1:05:00Speaker 2: a little debate on the last episode that there are
- 1:05:02Speaker 2: certain types of penis doctors. Yes, there's a shaft doctor,
- 1:05:06Speaker 2: there's the tip doctor, there's the old doctor, there's the.
- 1:05:09Speaker 1: Take and I told him that you you urologists are
- 1:05:12Speaker 1: in charge of tip all the way through your there
- 1:05:16Speaker 1: any track ball, shaft, taint everything, right?
- 1:05:19Speaker 2: Yeah? Are there people that just specialize intint intinte?
- 1:05:23Speaker 1: And do they have do they have limited work?
- 1:05:28Speaker 4: You'd be surprised people are specialized. No, But urologists cover
- 1:05:33Speaker 4: from the kidneys through where the urine drains, like the urder,
- 1:05:37Speaker 4: the bladder and really next to the kidneys too, like
- 1:05:40Speaker 4: they don't have to like the adrenal gland and whatever
- 1:05:42Speaker 4: else is in that area, and bladder prostate and then
- 1:05:47Speaker 4: all genitals so male and female.
- 1:05:50Speaker 2: Not deliver though, Oh, I have a question because but
- 1:05:53Speaker 2: doesn't that have something like the kidneys filter also? But
- 1:05:56Speaker 2: doesn't deliver, filter water and all that stuff as well.
- 1:06:00Speaker 4: Kidneys do they filter the blood and make the urine
- 1:06:03Speaker 4: liver has with alcohol and they also have other kind
- 1:06:07Speaker 4: of medications.
- 1:06:09Speaker 1: Doc, do you cover women or does a guy ofcologists
- 1:06:12Speaker 1: cover this aspect of women's health.
- 1:06:14Speaker 4: We overlap in so gynecologists deal with childbirth and cancer
- 1:06:20Speaker 4: of the kind of coologic tract. But there are also
- 1:06:23Speaker 4: eurogynecologists who deal with urinary issues for women. But there
- 1:06:26Speaker 4: are also female urologists who deal with urinary issues for women.
- 1:06:30Speaker 4: And we often work in conjunction or at one hospital
- 1:06:33Speaker 4: they may have a eurogynecologist, at another hospital they have
- 1:06:35Speaker 4: a female eurologist, but they'll end up dealing with like
- 1:06:39Speaker 4: overactive bladder, female incontinent, other kind of urinary issues on
- 1:06:47Speaker 4: the female side. But also women have kidney stones, women
- 1:06:50Speaker 4: get bladder cancer. So I see women as well. But
- 1:06:53Speaker 4: to talk about specializing, there are like I am completing
- 1:06:57Speaker 4: a men's health fellowship, so that deals with all of
- 1:06:59Speaker 4: the men help so everything with the penis screwed on, testicles, urethra, prostate.
- 1:07:07Speaker 4: But you know, and so.
- 1:07:10Speaker 2: Is there a way to grow?
- 1:07:13Speaker 1: You asked him this last time.
- 1:07:14Speaker 2: Start you know, I was hoping for a different answer.
- 1:07:17Speaker 1: No, he's got the same answer. Doc, Let's get it serious.
- 1:07:20Speaker 1: Do you recommend waxing your balls? Is there any benefits
- 1:07:23Speaker 1: to waxing one's balls to get.
- 1:07:26Speaker 2: The hair off?
- 1:07:27Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean wherever you want, Okay.
- 1:07:32Speaker 1: Because we were gonna do a special episode where Donald
- 1:07:33Speaker 1: gets his way. Yeah, we were gonna do it.
- 1:07:35Speaker 2: We were got to do a special episode where Zach
- 1:07:37Speaker 2: was going to.
- 1:07:38Speaker 1: Where Donald gets his Okay jokes aside, I do want
- 1:07:41Speaker 1: to do one bit of perfect public service announcement. The
- 1:07:43Speaker 1: last time you were on, we did this. We want
- 1:07:44Speaker 1: to convince men that they should definitely have their prostate
- 1:07:47Speaker 1: examined for cancer. I know a lot of men avoid
- 1:07:51Speaker 1: this because it doesn't sound pleasurable, but it must be done. Doc,
- 1:07:56Speaker 1: will you just speak to our audience a little bit
- 1:07:58Speaker 1: about the age and that they should start doing it,
- 1:08:00Speaker 1: and is it every year and what's the doctor looking for.
- 1:08:05Speaker 4: Yes, in regards to prostate cancer, it's usually in middle
- 1:08:08Speaker 4: aged to middle aged men who are healthy. So really,
- 1:08:12Speaker 4: the from the ages fifty five to seventy are the
- 1:08:15Speaker 4: main time frame where you'd want to get checked. If
- 1:08:18Speaker 4: you're checked a little earlier with the PSA, which is
- 1:08:20Speaker 4: a blood test that helps to see your risk of
- 1:08:23Speaker 4: prostate cancer, but it's not a perfect test. It could
- 1:08:26Speaker 4: be elevated for a number of other non cancer related reasons,
- 1:08:30Speaker 4: which is why seeing a doctor and talking about your
- 1:08:34Speaker 4: risk of prostate cancer, if you have a family history,
- 1:08:37Speaker 4: if you have other cancer risk in your family, or
- 1:08:40Speaker 4: if you're curious and want to get checked, it's worthwhile
- 1:08:45Speaker 4: to check. And at the same time as doing that
- 1:08:47Speaker 4: that blood test, the PSA, often you'll have a prostate exam,
- 1:08:52Speaker 4: which is a finger in the butt feeling the prospect,
- 1:08:55Speaker 4: feeling for abnormalities.
- 1:08:57Speaker 2: What's what's interesting is I've been getting prostate exams since
- 1:09:00Speaker 2: I was in my thirties. I'm in my forties now,
- 1:09:05Speaker 2: and it was by choice, you know what I mean.
- 1:09:08Speaker 2: I didn't necessarily want the fingers in my butt, But
- 1:09:12Speaker 2: you know, you're nervous. I'm thorough, like for real, I
- 1:09:15Speaker 2: try to be as thorough as possible, you know what
- 1:09:17Speaker 2: I mean? And we both doesn't. But that doesn't mean
- 1:09:19Speaker 2: that doesn't that's the other crazy thing. So like, here's
- 1:09:22Speaker 2: the other thing. Like you could go years and years
- 1:09:24Speaker 2: and years and you're going to the doctor every year
- 1:09:26Speaker 2: or every six months and then all of a sudden,
- 1:09:27Speaker 2: out of nowhere, shit just shows up. That's how it works.
- 1:09:30Speaker 4: Yeah, but that's the thing about process answer because a
- 1:09:33Speaker 4: lot of our guidelines these they are doing like it's
- 1:09:36Speaker 4: important to be checked, but maybe every year is too much.
- 1:09:40Speaker 4: Maybe every year causes too much anxiety. There's the opposite
- 1:09:43Speaker 4: effect of you're having anxiety to get checked. But if
- 1:09:46Speaker 4: you get checked too much, you know you're really is
- 1:09:49Speaker 4: there a benefit? So I think some some docs would say, right,
- 1:09:53Speaker 4: you're fifty five, you hyd your PSA, it's quote unquote
- 1:09:56Speaker 4: normal or low, which I could again next year if
- 1:09:59Speaker 4: it's the same, and maybe we check in two years.
- 1:10:02Speaker 1: I thought the excuse me, doctor, I thought that I
- 1:10:04Speaker 1: thought the age to start checking was younger than you're recommending.
- 1:10:07Speaker 2: So for I think, I think you can colonoscopy. Man,
- 1:10:10Speaker 2: that dropped. That dropped tremendously, like almost.
- 1:10:13Speaker 1: That's what Chadwick Boseman had right, colon cancer. Okay, So
- 1:10:17Speaker 1: what so what is your recommendation for when men should
- 1:10:21Speaker 1: start getting prostate exams for prostate cancer annually?
- 1:10:26Speaker 4: I would say, if you have no cancer risk and
- 1:10:29Speaker 4: you know you're not, you're you want to follow what
- 1:10:33Speaker 4: our guidelines are fifty five and you're otherwise healthy, Like
- 1:10:37Speaker 4: you're not going to die within five years because there
- 1:10:39Speaker 4: are If that's the case, then prostate cancer. The thing
- 1:10:41Speaker 4: about prossect anser is it's very slow growing, so people
- 1:10:45Speaker 4: can you know a lot of people die, Like prostly
- 1:10:48Speaker 4: cancer is a top killer of men. You know that's
- 1:10:50Speaker 4: a cancer. But there are a lot of people who
- 1:10:52Speaker 4: have prostate cancer who die from something else because they
- 1:10:55Speaker 4: could have something that is clinically insignificant. So you have
- 1:10:58Speaker 4: to weigh the risks and benefits of screening and treating.
- 1:11:01Speaker 1: I don't understand why. I mean, this is granted from
- 1:11:03Speaker 1: a hypochondriac who's not a doctor. I don't understand the problem.
- 1:11:06Speaker 1: You're going for your annual physical, you're forty seven, forty
- 1:11:10Speaker 1: eight years old. Why not say, oh and please check
- 1:11:12Speaker 1: my prostate insurance.
- 1:11:13Speaker 4: Baby, No, yeah, no, but there's a benefit.
- 1:11:15Speaker 1: There's a charge more to put his finger inside you.
- 1:11:17Speaker 2: Well, look, I got my colonoscopy early and I did
- 1:11:22Speaker 2: different I did. He was like, well, you know, you're
- 1:11:25Speaker 2: only forty two, forty three. You know it's supposed to
- 1:11:29Speaker 2: be forty five. But we'll see.
- 1:11:31Speaker 1: But that involves putting you under in a whole thing.
- 1:11:34Speaker 1: This is just a finger in your butt, What is it.
- 1:11:36Speaker 2: I don't understand the difference between exams and people are
- 1:11:39Speaker 2: under and stuff like that.
- 1:11:41Speaker 4: Because they're looking is there, they put you asleep, They
- 1:11:44Speaker 4: look through your whole colon the large intestine for cancer
- 1:11:47Speaker 4: prostate exam is the prostate is right in front of
- 1:11:51Speaker 4: the rectum. So if you put your finger in, you
- 1:11:53Speaker 4: can feel part of the prostrate, not all of it.
- 1:11:56Speaker 4: So it's part of the test. If it's positive, that's concerning,
- 1:12:00Speaker 4: we would say you should probably have a biopsy. If
- 1:12:02Speaker 4: it's negative, then we say, you know. It's reassuring, but
- 1:12:05Speaker 4: doesn't doesn't tell us the whole story. That's why you
- 1:12:08Speaker 4: have the PSA. There's a whole algorithm of of Oh,
- 1:12:12Speaker 4: so you're saying a screen for these things, but but.
- 1:12:15Speaker 1: You're digitally feeling is not the whole picture, right, You're
- 1:12:18Speaker 1: only it's like a peach, right, and you're only like
- 1:12:20Speaker 1: feeling like a portion of the peach. What if my
- 1:12:24Speaker 1: cancer is on the other side of the peach.
- 1:12:25Speaker 4: Talk that's the point, But it tends to be the
- 1:12:27Speaker 4: part that you're feeling is the part that has cancer
- 1:12:29Speaker 4: most of the time, so which is why it's become
- 1:12:32Speaker 4: that way. What I would say is, you know, you're
- 1:12:34Speaker 4: forty seven, You going to the doctor and you say, hey, like,
- 1:12:37Speaker 4: I'm curious about this.
- 1:12:39Speaker 2: What do you know?
- 1:12:39Speaker 4: Doctor will tell you risks and benefits of treatment, and
- 1:12:42Speaker 4: you may get a PSA and maybe if your PSA
- 1:12:45Speaker 4: is super low that bodes well for your future. Hey,
- 1:12:48Speaker 4: you don't need another one for until you're you know,
- 1:12:50Speaker 4: for five years because and but if you get one
- 1:12:54Speaker 4: at forty seven and it's higher than what it should
- 1:12:57Speaker 4: be for a forty seven year old, again, there are
- 1:12:59Speaker 4: rain When you look at your labs for certain tests,
- 1:13:04Speaker 4: it will tell you what's normal. But it's not always
- 1:13:06Speaker 4: normal abnormal. It may depend on what your age is,
- 1:13:08Speaker 4: which is kind of like for this, and then we
- 1:13:12Speaker 4: may say, all right, you're only forty seven. We got
- 1:13:14Speaker 4: your PSA. It's a little high. Let's chump it against
- 1:13:16Speaker 4: the year.
- 1:13:25Speaker 2: I have another question, one more question.
- 1:13:27Speaker 1: Yeah, so to let the doctor go. Yeah, but with
- 1:13:30Speaker 1: he's got taints to check.
- 1:13:32Speaker 2: What I'm finding is that with age you have more
- 1:13:34Speaker 2: of a chance of you know, getting you know, diseases
- 1:13:37Speaker 2: and stuff like that. As you get older, right, is
- 1:13:40Speaker 2: it because Okay, so my question is is it because
- 1:13:42Speaker 2: of you've lived longer or is it because your body
- 1:13:46Speaker 2: all of a sudden now doesn't you know what I mean?
- 1:13:49Speaker 2: The longer you live, the you know what I mean,
- 1:13:51Speaker 2: The longer you live, the more the more possibilities of
- 1:13:54Speaker 2: things are going to happen to you. Yeah, right, Is
- 1:13:56Speaker 2: that the case or is it the case of as
- 1:13:59Speaker 2: you get older, your immune system your body breaks down,
- 1:14:03Speaker 2: and so therefore there's a possibility of these things coming through,
- 1:14:06Speaker 2: you know what I mean.
- 1:14:07Speaker 4: That's that's a really good question that I definitely don't
- 1:14:11Speaker 4: have the like expertise on aging to know. But what
- 1:14:16Speaker 4: I would imagine it's a combination because in the first thing,
- 1:14:19Speaker 4: there your cells are constantly regenerating, constantly regenerating, and when
- 1:14:23Speaker 4: there are mistakes that are made when they divide, there
- 1:14:25Speaker 4: are other cells that are like saying like no, you're mutated,
- 1:14:29Speaker 4: like you're dead. But then there are some that then
- 1:14:33Speaker 4: get through and that's when cancer forms. And my what
- 1:14:37Speaker 4: I imagine is that over time, maybe that risk increases
- 1:14:41Speaker 4: or it's happened so much that something the cells that
- 1:14:44Speaker 4: you know that monitor those things aren't working as well,
- 1:14:48Speaker 4: and your risk of getting X, Y and Z cancer increases,
- 1:14:55Speaker 4: and then on top of that your body, yeah, just
- 1:14:57Speaker 4: starts to break down. It's crazy, I can die. Aging
- 1:15:01Speaker 4: is it makes no sense. And people, there is so
- 1:15:06Speaker 4: much out there on all these theories of how to
- 1:15:09Speaker 4: decrease aging, how to improve memory diets, certain medications like
- 1:15:15Speaker 4: we using them from one that we're made for one
- 1:15:18Speaker 4: thing to do for another thing. There is It's like,
- 1:15:22Speaker 4: this is why I say, there's like so much. There's
- 1:15:24Speaker 4: so much we know in medicine, and there's still so
- 1:15:27Speaker 4: much more, even more that we don't know. And that
- 1:15:29Speaker 4: one I think is.
- 1:15:35Speaker 1: I want to thank you doctor Brick for your time.
- 1:15:38Speaker 1: I really, I really hope, at joking aside that even
- 1:15:42Speaker 1: if this gets a handful of people to make sure
- 1:15:44Speaker 1: they get checked, will will have made a difference. So
- 1:15:47Speaker 1: so thank you so much for.
- 1:15:50Speaker 2: We We really appreciate when you come on. As much
- 1:15:53Speaker 2: as we like to joke around and stuff and you
- 1:15:55Speaker 2: get all of the sometimes you really do it because
- 1:16:01Speaker 2: you do have a lot of information that a lot
- 1:16:02Speaker 2: of people out there need to hear.
- 1:16:04Speaker 1: Yeah, and I don't and I don't think a lot
- 1:16:05Speaker 1: of men ask these questions, you know, Donald and I
- 1:16:07Speaker 1: are both a bit of a hypochondriacs who are blessed
- 1:16:10Speaker 1: to have good insurance so we can bother our doctors.
- 1:16:13Speaker 2: But we got a podcast where we have doctors.
- 1:16:16Speaker 1: We were also and we were also on a doctor's
- 1:16:18Speaker 1: show for a decade. But a lot of people are
- 1:16:21Speaker 1: in the situation, so I wanted to provide a hopefully
- 1:16:23Speaker 1: of public service and just educate people a little bit
- 1:16:25Speaker 1: of need to hear it.
- 1:16:26Speaker 4: Yeah, well, I'll say just two things that First of all,
- 1:16:29Speaker 4: I love doing this when my I love being on
- 1:16:32Speaker 4: with you guys. But I love answering medical questions when
- 1:16:35Speaker 4: my friends and family ask medical questions and apologize and like,
- 1:16:39Speaker 4: this is not there's nothing to apologize for it. This
- 1:16:41Speaker 4: is what I'm good at. This is what I do
- 1:16:44Speaker 4: for a living, and I enjoy it. So it's a
- 1:16:47Speaker 4: player to be here, and I'm love spending time with
- 1:16:50Speaker 4: you guys. And the second thing is today is actually
- 1:16:53Speaker 4: my wife's birthday.
- 1:16:54Speaker 2: Happy birthday, Amanda, and I wanted.
- 1:16:57Speaker 4: To just give her a shout out and tell her
- 1:17:00Speaker 4: you lover and she's the best.
- 1:17:02Speaker 1: And wow, you're you're such a sweet Amanda. What a
- 1:17:07Speaker 1: catch you got here. I mean the guy's handsome. He
- 1:17:10Speaker 1: knows everything about a taint there is to know.
- 1:17:12Speaker 2: I'm just saying, he looks. He looks at penises all
- 1:17:15Speaker 2: day and comes home to you.
- 1:17:17Speaker 1: Yes, yes, he does choose any of those. He passes
- 1:17:21Speaker 1: by all those penises. He walks by all those dicks
- 1:17:26Speaker 1: and comes home to you. It comes home to you,
- 1:17:29Speaker 1: to you, all right, Thank you, doctor Briggs, Thanks so much,
- 1:17:34Speaker 1: Thank you, Daniel, love you, Joelle. You're the best. I
- 1:17:37Speaker 1: hope you guys have a beautiful week. Audience. We love you.
- 1:17:40Speaker 1: What about I'm getting to you, saving the best for last.
- 1:17:43Speaker 2: No, because you're gonna okay, you're.
- 1:17:45Speaker 1: Messing the you're messing up the talk up. I don't
- 1:17:47Speaker 1: know how long. I don't know how long. Its fucking
- 1:17:49Speaker 1: preamble is, Dan, We'll make it right. I love you.
- 1:17:55Speaker 1: You're my best friend. I love your smile. I love
- 1:17:58Speaker 1: your touch, I love your teeth.
- 1:18:00Speaker 2: I love your touch.

- 1:18:48Speaker 1: I need to be bold, need to jump in.
