- 0:00Speaker 1: In closing, I'd like to remind people it's kind of
- 0:02Speaker 1: something we had kind of touched on. In the opening
- 0:06Speaker 1: of the show, Junior said that he heard a quote. Junior,
- 0:18Speaker 1: do you remember what the quote was that you said?
- 0:20Speaker 2: Yes, It says, if you think the cost of success
- 0:25Speaker 2: is high, wait till you get the bill from regret.
- 0:30Speaker 3: One more time, Junior.
- 0:32Speaker 2: If you think the cost of success is high, wait
- 0:35Speaker 2: until you get the bill from regret.
- 0:38Speaker 3: We had talked about this this morning.
- 0:41Speaker 1: If you think the cost of success is high, wait
- 0:44Speaker 1: till you get the bill for regret.
- 0:46Speaker 3: I've been in that decision before.
- 0:50Speaker 1: And everyone gets to those moments in life where you
- 0:52Speaker 1: have to turn right or you turn left. And I'm
- 0:56Speaker 1: not saying turn right as in the right way or
- 1:00Speaker 1: left is the wrong way. I'm just saying everybody gets
- 1:02Speaker 1: to a crossroad in life where you have to go
- 1:05Speaker 1: this way or that way. What I found in life
- 1:09Speaker 1: is that the way that you should go is always
- 1:11Speaker 1: the harder route. It usually always is. It looks the
- 1:17Speaker 1: least amount of fun. It doesn't show right away what
- 1:24Speaker 1: all the upside is.
- 1:26Speaker 3: It just looks hard. Then there's an easy way you
- 1:29Speaker 3: could take.
- 1:30Speaker 1: You can strike out and set your boundaries as difficult
- 1:34Speaker 1: and high and hard, or you can take the easy
- 1:37Speaker 1: route and go I ain't gonna do nothing. I ain't
- 1:39Speaker 1: doing that today. That just looked too hard. I've made
- 1:42Speaker 1: the decision before in my life not to take the hard.
- 1:45Speaker 3: Way and boil, boil, boil, boy, I had nothing but regret.
- 1:52Speaker 1: So what I've learned in my travels and in my
- 1:54Speaker 1: life experiences is I now understand that success is a process,
- 2:02Speaker 1: and it is a difficult process. It is simply hard.
- 2:09Speaker 1: But that's my only decision from here on out. And
- 2:13Speaker 1: I've been making those decisions since I was nearly forty.
- 2:18Speaker 1: I don't take no easy way. I expect it to
- 2:22Speaker 1: be difficult. I expect it to be challenging. I know
- 2:26Speaker 1: that it's gonna be hard. I know it's gonna be
- 2:29Speaker 1: froth with disappointment. I know it's going to be most challenging.
- 2:35Speaker 1: But I also know it's gonna be very, very rewarding.
- 2:38Speaker 1: What I will not do is take the nothing route,
- 2:42Speaker 1: the easy route, the settle forward route that I ain't
- 2:46Speaker 1: gonna do this because this right here, man, I just
- 2:48Speaker 1: ain't doing that today.
- 2:49Speaker 3: Because, buddy, let me tell you something.
- 2:52Speaker 1: When you get that bill for regret when you look
- 2:57Speaker 1: back on what it should have could a man if
- 3:01Speaker 1: I only had went on and faced it, that's a
- 3:05Speaker 1: hard one to live with.
- 3:06Speaker 3: Man, that's a life of regret.
- 3:10Speaker 1: And all of us know somebody somewhere who is living
- 3:14Speaker 1: in a life of regret and man quitting. Quitting is
- 3:19Speaker 1: the biggest sponsor of regret because when you quit, you
- 3:23Speaker 1: never know what the end could have been.
- 3:26Speaker 3: See.
- 3:27Speaker 1: Often the struggler has given up when he might have
- 3:29Speaker 1: captured the victor's cup, and he learns too late, when
- 3:32Speaker 1: the night came down how close he was to the
- 3:35Speaker 1: golden crown. See that stanza in that poem Don't Quit
- 3:41Speaker 1: is a very effective one. Often the struggler has given
- 3:47Speaker 1: up when he might have captured the victor's cup, and
- 3:51Speaker 1: he learns too late, when the night came down how
- 3:55Speaker 1: close he was to the golden crown. That's regret, man,
- 4:00Speaker 1: when you give up just in the nick of time,
- 4:05Speaker 1: Because giving up assures you one thing, and one thing only,
- 4:08Speaker 1: that you will not win, that there is no way
- 4:12Speaker 1: you can see victory.
- 4:14Speaker 3: That's what giving up guarantees. Now, it ain't no guarantee.
- 4:18Speaker 1: If you stay with it, but the possibility remains that
- 4:24Speaker 1: you will succeed and you will become a victor. But
- 4:28Speaker 1: see so to those of you that look at things
- 4:32Speaker 1: so wrong all the time. Yeah, but see Steve, you
- 4:35Speaker 1: just said, even if you stick with it, it ain't
- 4:38Speaker 1: no guarantee.
- 4:39Speaker 3: Ain't no guarantees in life.
- 4:43Speaker 1: But if you stick with it, the possibility remains. Why
- 4:48Speaker 1: would you destroy the possibility? Why would you remove all hope?
- 4:54Speaker 1: That don't make no sense to me? And even if
- 4:58Speaker 1: you fail, if you go lie a little bit further
- 5:00Speaker 1: up the road, you get a little bit more experienced,
- 5:04Speaker 1: you get a little bit more learning, you get a
- 5:07Speaker 1: little bit more knowledge, so the next time that may
- 5:11Speaker 1: be the experience and the knowledge you need to win.
- 5:15Speaker 1: Don't ever give up, don't ever quit, don't ever succumb
- 5:19Speaker 1: to regret.
- 5:21Speaker 3: Stay with it.
- 5:22Speaker 1: You never know when God is gonna flip the switch,
- 5:27Speaker 1: and he ain't never been too late. Those are my
- 5:29Speaker 1: clothes remarks. Hey, y'all, do yourself a favor of talk
- 5:32Speaker 1: to God today. He would absolutely love to hear from you.
- 5:35Speaker 1: And it don't matter if he you ain't talked to
- 5:37Speaker 1: him in a while. He's a forgiving God. He's forgiven
- 5:40Speaker 1: me thousands of times I'm gonna probably use up a
- 5:44Speaker 1: few hundred more for.
- 5:45Speaker 3: I leave this world.
- 5:46Speaker 1: I'm gonna try to cut it down to just a
- 5:48Speaker 1: few hundreds and not do the thousands.
