- 0:08Speaker 1: Jus, what's up boys? We are in Spain.
- 0:16Speaker 2: This is ours Kevin, hours after Spain just won the
- 0:21Speaker 2: World Cup.
- 0:21Speaker 1: Now hit the applause on the have you gone to bed?
- 0:25Speaker 1: It was the city on fire? Like what happened? The
- 0:28Speaker 1: city is not on fire. It's kind of an interesting vacation.
- 0:32Speaker 1: In the last Spain. This is called an appall. Where's money?
- 0:40Speaker 1: It's the drink of the summer two years running Spain.
- 0:46Speaker 2: Let's tell you about our trip. So we're clocked in
- 0:49Speaker 2: on vacation. I got here about what was it five
- 0:53Speaker 2: days ago. I came straight from New York. I was
- 0:56Speaker 2: in New York doing a shoot with a fur hanging
- 0:58Speaker 2: out with me and I. I say, you're a place
- 1:00Speaker 2: for one night. And I got here. Priyanka and Malty
- 1:03Speaker 2: and our parents were already here. So then I joined up.
- 1:07Speaker 2: Joe got here a day after.
- 1:09Speaker 1: Me because I was shooting something in Los Angeles. I
- 1:11Speaker 1: can't talk to you about it.
- 1:12Speaker 2: We got top secret projects, so busy. We did Prianca's birthday,
- 1:16Speaker 2: wonderful day. The following day we watched Spain win the
- 1:20Speaker 2: World Cup and the city was going nuts till last
- 1:23Speaker 2: three or four in the morning.
- 1:23Speaker 1: Well, so a clip right now. This is a video
- 1:25Speaker 1: I took of the fireworks rolling here, the horns honking. Yeah,
- 1:29Speaker 1: they're going nuts. This went on all night.
- 1:36Speaker 2: So the other thing about this place that we're in
- 1:38Speaker 2: here in Spain, which shout out Spain, we love.
- 1:40Speaker 1: You, seriously, shout out in Spain, it's Fiesta season.
- 1:42Speaker 2: They basically shoot off fireworks at eight am every morning,
- 1:46Speaker 2: and then every night am.
- 1:48Speaker 1: I don't know if they're testing them for the night
- 1:49Speaker 1: time or they just are I think it's a test
- 1:51Speaker 1: they're testing, and then at night I get ten From
- 1:54Speaker 1: pretty much from ten till midnight, they're just going off.
- 1:57Speaker 1: Did you watch the match? I did. I was flying
- 2:00Speaker 1: home from the Hamptons. Me and Danny went and visited
- 2:02Speaker 1: some friends and so chic. Yes, to Hampton's.
- 2:05Speaker 3: We had a little five minute flight. We literally had
- 2:07Speaker 3: a five minute flight. Actually it was the perfect amount
- 2:09Speaker 3: of time. It was twenty four minutes, and I watched
- 2:12Speaker 3: the end of the real time. Then I watched the
- 2:16Speaker 3: rest of it, you know, in.
- 2:18Speaker 1: The car ride home. Oh were you doing in the
- 2:19Speaker 1: Hampton's visiting some friends. They invited us out, went to
- 2:22Speaker 1: their beach house and it was very awesome. Did you
- 2:24Speaker 1: take a helicopter. I did not.
- 2:26Speaker 3: We flew on a plane and because I was not
- 2:28Speaker 3: about to sit in five hours of traffic with the
- 2:31Speaker 3: World Cup traffic going on.
- 2:32Speaker 1: It's crazy here. It like lits it New York. It
- 2:34Speaker 1: was in the Great City New Jersey. I've met.
- 2:37Speaker 3: Was in the Great City of New Jersey, not New York.
- 2:39Speaker 3: But Joe, I went to Sunset Beach where you said
- 2:42Speaker 3: we have to go when you were out in the
- 2:43Speaker 3: Hampton's and it was the most amount of rain on
- 2:47Speaker 3: Shutter Island I've ever experienced, like ever, how much rain
- 2:51Speaker 3: we got that night. The tent inside that place was dripping,
- 2:54Speaker 3: but it became because you were so like just drenched,
- 2:58Speaker 3: it didn't matter, and dinner was awesome and the music
- 3:00Speaker 3: was going on.
- 3:01Speaker 1: But that's pretty trippy probably to experience that in the rainstorm.
- 3:04Speaker 1: It was like kind of like giving Widows Bay. It
- 3:07Speaker 1: was giving horror film. Speaking of horror films, have you
- 3:10Speaker 1: guys watched Obsession yet? No? Actually, by the way, I'm sorry,
- 3:13Speaker 1: but I've been saving it. It's Tati and I I've
- 3:17Speaker 1: been my Jiff. We are waiting to watch it, but
- 3:21Speaker 1: there's never an appropriate time to watch it. So I
- 3:23Speaker 1: have it saved this. I've watched it flight because you, guys,
- 3:28Speaker 1: I don't know why'd you watch it without me?
- 3:30Speaker 2: I watched quite a few movies, but Obsession is the
- 3:32Speaker 2: movie of the year. When I say it's it's beyond
- 3:35Speaker 2: its cultural reach. It is a fantastic film.
- 3:37Speaker 1: I can't wait to see the Odyssey.
- 3:38Speaker 2: Though the Odyssey is gonna be great. Guys, A lot
- 3:41Speaker 2: has happened that we have to we have to recap, recap.
- 3:44Speaker 2: The first is three sold out nights Madison Square Gardens.
- 3:48Speaker 1: Let's go.
- 3:50Speaker 2: Twentieth twenty first, twenty second, are incredible fans.
- 3:53Speaker 1: This actually makes sense. This, this button I have makes
- 3:56Speaker 1: a lot of sense for these three sold out here.
- 3:58Speaker 1: Oh yeah, the tables, turning it back, turning back in time.
- 4:02Speaker 1: We're playing, We're running, We're running it. Yeah, we're turning
- 4:04Speaker 1: it back. The people have spoken by the way, we're
- 4:07Speaker 1: doing the show. Oh yeah, we're doing turning the shows
- 4:09Speaker 1: back to the Burning Up tour that we were on
- 4:11Speaker 1: in two thousand and the Burning Up Tour all over
- 4:13Speaker 1: again two thousand and eight.
- 4:14Speaker 2: It has been so incredible to see the responsory shows.
- 4:16Speaker 2: Thank you everyone that bought a ticket. You can't wait
- 4:18Speaker 2: to see you cannot wait. But what's been really fun
- 4:22Speaker 2: is literally putting the show back together. And I will
- 4:24Speaker 2: say that this is a bit of lore that we
- 4:28Speaker 2: never talked about. But the og sign, the burning up sign,
- 4:32Speaker 2: one that lights on the firefire. We could not find it.
- 4:35Speaker 2: So here's the picture of what it looks like.
- 4:37Speaker 1: This is what we found in stores. We have a
- 4:39Speaker 1: Jonas Brothers storage Unity, which also is quite fun. It's
- 4:43Speaker 1: a Jonahs Brother's mal It's it's a massive storage unit
- 4:47Speaker 1: that if you're a fan of Big Fat Lier. When
- 4:50Speaker 1: they when they went into the uh.
- 4:52Speaker 2: Just watched it with the kids, I was like, guys,
- 4:54Speaker 2: you're gonna love this film. And you know what, shout
- 4:55Speaker 2: out the snails. You know what I'm talking about, Big
- 4:57Speaker 2: fat Lyre.
- 4:58Speaker 1: They said it moved too slow. They're like, it's a
- 5:00Speaker 1: little slow.
- 5:01Speaker 2: I'm like everything they watched is just like, yeah, fantastic
- 5:05Speaker 2: about Liar.
- 5:06Speaker 1: I was thinking of Liar Liar.
- 5:07Speaker 2: Is there a storage unit scene in this Yeah, they
- 5:10Speaker 2: go into the costume house at the a lot. Remember
- 5:13Speaker 2: Paul Jamadi is like the big bad guy and they
- 5:16Speaker 2: go and it's it's one of my favorite scenes in
- 5:18Speaker 2: the film. And then the other one is when he
- 5:20Speaker 2: jumps into his pool. When he comes out, he's all blue.
- 5:22Speaker 2: So we found that the sign. That's the first step.
- 5:25Speaker 2: We have been going back and forth with our production
- 5:27Speaker 2: team while on vacation and you know, all the rest,
- 5:31Speaker 2: putting the show back together piece by piece.
- 5:33Speaker 1: It's gonna be the OG set list. Uh.
- 5:35Speaker 2: There's some special things too that are new and some
- 5:39Speaker 2: slight changes, a lot of conversation around the flips. If
- 5:43Speaker 2: we're gonna be doing the flips, I will say that
- 5:46Speaker 2: Joe and I have been.
- 5:47Speaker 1: We've been stretched working it out in the pool. Have
- 5:49Speaker 1: you been doing stretching them? It are?
- 5:51Speaker 2: We have something extra, guys. I don't want to get
- 5:54Speaker 2: anything away, but it's gonna be great. And then we
- 5:57Speaker 2: take this twenty five minute break, we come back out
- 5:59Speaker 2: and we do about an hour and a half of
- 6:02Speaker 2: more music. It's a long show though, two and a
- 6:04Speaker 2: half hour show. Oh did you get a break though?
- 6:07Speaker 2: I mean we should just we should talk about this.
- 6:09Speaker 1: Five albums one night was three hours.
- 6:10Speaker 3: Well exactly whatever what happened after we got on tour
- 6:14Speaker 3: and it was like, oh no.
- 6:16Speaker 1: I feel like we could play He doesn't make very
- 6:19Speaker 1: negative right now. I think I'm not being just being
- 6:21Speaker 1: realistic about our Yeah, well our stamina. What else? What
- 6:25Speaker 1: else happened? You went on vacation.
- 6:27Speaker 3: I went on vacation. We went to the Bahamas again.
- 6:29Speaker 3: Because that's what low lights. What are some highlights? Low
- 6:32Speaker 3: light was the delayed flight. Highlight was getting there and
- 6:35Speaker 3: watching them like go on the water slides. Here's a
- 6:38Speaker 3: video of Valentina jumping off a cliff like they have
- 6:41Speaker 3: the air, no fear, into water, into a.
- 6:43Speaker 2: Little softball question this this won't be controversial at all,
- 6:46Speaker 2: any conflict with any fights or you know any.
- 6:51Speaker 3: I got a little heated one morning, so I had
- 6:53Speaker 3: the entire group going, Did I got a little down?
- 6:57Speaker 1: People were talking?
- 6:58Speaker 4: It was nine, No, it was eight. And then Mikey joined,
- 7:02Speaker 4: By the way, great call. It's good to own a family.
- 7:05Speaker 4: VAK and uncle showing up a little late brings a day.
- 7:09Speaker 3: In two days in perfect Yeah, it helps it like
- 7:12Speaker 3: re reduces the energy. Went down to breakfast because I
- 7:15Speaker 3: bring the girls down early because they're up and I'm
- 7:17Speaker 3: up because I was already at the gym.
- 7:18Speaker 1: Because what time we talked on nine o'clock? Are you
- 7:20Speaker 1: in the gym before that? Yeah? Damn, vac on vaca.
- 7:24Speaker 1: My body like wakes up. I went locked in.
- 7:26Speaker 3: I set up breakfast for everyone where we've been having
- 7:28Speaker 3: breakfast the last three days. Everybody else had a table
- 7:32Speaker 3: outside and eating ahead of us without inviting us, like
- 7:35Speaker 3: I invite everyone to meals.
- 7:36Speaker 2: And just I'm gonna say, you're kind of hosting. I
- 7:39Speaker 2: was a little uncouth as it were.
- 7:42Speaker 1: That was a low light. Then you got heated. Low light. Yeah,
- 7:45Speaker 1: I got heated.
- 7:45Speaker 3: And then I couldn't get a drink for like three
- 7:48Speaker 3: hours for some reason, they just wouldn't try to check
- 7:51Speaker 3: on us.
- 7:51Speaker 1: And so then that was like then I was really
- 7:54Speaker 1: drink are we talking about talking about?
- 7:55Speaker 3: I need after all sprits and I couldn't get one
- 7:58Speaker 3: got it.
- 7:59Speaker 1: So I started to rage and it became and then
- 8:01Speaker 1: I just had to go for a walk. I had
- 8:03Speaker 1: a low lit. I went on a yacht trip. Wait
- 8:06Speaker 1: a second, the fact that you just said I had
- 8:08Speaker 1: a low light. I went on a yacht trip. Well,
- 8:11Speaker 1: it's part of the yacht. Yacht trip had a low light,
- 8:14Speaker 1: which was It's kind of a both thing. It's like
- 8:16Speaker 1: a yacht trip and you spend a lot of money
- 8:19Speaker 1: for the bad low light, which is it was a guest.
- 8:21Speaker 1: Actually I was a guest on the boat, so I'll
- 8:23Speaker 1: jokes aside. I fell off a boat going onto a tender.
- 8:27Speaker 1: It was pretty pretty scary, stepped a little early that
- 8:29Speaker 1: everyone said it was fine, and me and the first
- 8:32Speaker 1: mate like slipped between the two boats. It was pretty terrifying,
- 8:35Speaker 1: and I think I think the adrenaline was going and
- 8:37Speaker 1: there's like the element of embarrassment, and I think I
- 8:40Speaker 1: pulled myself up on the smaller boat and I hit
- 8:42Speaker 1: my shin. But it was more just like terrifying, Like
- 8:45Speaker 1: in a moment like that, you're like, so many things
- 8:47Speaker 1: could have gone bad. I mean, other than like a
- 8:49Speaker 1: bruised shin. Like everybody's fine, but it was definitely one
- 8:51Speaker 1: of the moments like I want to call my kids
- 8:52Speaker 1: right now, mm hmm, like that's the first thing. I
- 8:55Speaker 1: just need to talk to them, and like pretty shook
- 8:58Speaker 1: for like a while. But also makes it some people
- 9:00Speaker 1: are like, you're good, okay, yeah, Like you're like, yea,
- 9:02Speaker 1: I'm fine, even though you know you're not fine. But
- 9:04Speaker 1: I'm like I'm just trying to tell myself, I'm just
- 9:06Speaker 1: let it go. Move on. That being said, the trip
- 9:09Speaker 1: itself was a lot of fun. Did some day clubbing,
- 9:12Speaker 1: which was not something I do in my mid thirties,
- 9:14Speaker 1: but that was fun. Like Nikki Beach, who is just
- 9:16Speaker 1: like a restaurant club, We're like halfway through the you're
- 9:19Speaker 1: eating little asagna and it's like you just hear like
- 9:22Speaker 1: crazy frog and then it's just that it's really fun
- 9:28Speaker 1: and you have to lean into it and it's a
- 9:30Speaker 1: good time.
- 9:30Speaker 2: And also I was on the trip when we found
- 9:33Speaker 2: out that we sold out these shows, so so good.
- 9:36Speaker 1: It was nice to have so pumped.
- 9:39Speaker 2: I have an update. It's neither a low light or
- 9:43Speaker 2: a highlight. It's just a general update. But it does
- 9:45Speaker 2: actually tie into the next piece of the conversation. So
- 9:48Speaker 2: let's call this a segue, if you will. I'm having
- 9:51Speaker 2: a Coke zero summer.
- 9:52Speaker 1: You're back. I just I just was like, let me
- 9:55Speaker 1: just I'm gonna have a nice cold, ice cold cold
- 9:57Speaker 1: Coke zero today. It's so good. What yeah, so what I.
- 10:02Speaker 2: Was trying diet coke, but now zero is shadow coke zero.
- 10:07Speaker 2: You're doing your thing. So this is my Coke zero summer.
- 10:09Speaker 2: It's a nice refreshment. It's huge. It's a big update.
- 10:12Speaker 1: Are are you getting like no, asked for saying that
- 10:16Speaker 1: absolutely not nice. I have a segue here. I want
- 10:19Speaker 1: to get to it because it's it's a good one.
- 10:20Speaker 2: Having a coke zero reminds me of my teen years,
- 10:24Speaker 2: and I was brought back to the many wonderful memories
- 10:27Speaker 2: we had with John Taylor, greg Or Bowski, and Jack Lawless,
- 10:31Speaker 2: the OG band O G band whose name as a
- 10:36Speaker 2: band was Ocean Grove OG. See what I did there,
- 10:40Speaker 2: wow Place. So a few weeks ago during our Vegas residency,
- 10:45Speaker 2: we had to sit down with the OG band, John Taylor,
- 10:48Speaker 2: Jack Lawless, Gregor Bowski and we've been sitting on this
- 10:52Speaker 2: gem of an episode now for weeks because there was
- 10:55Speaker 2: so many great guests.
- 10:56Speaker 1: That we just had to sit on it.
- 10:58Speaker 2: But the conversation was really reflective and fun, and we
- 11:04Speaker 2: got to walk down and relane with some guys that
- 11:06Speaker 2: were there from the very start of the journey.
- 11:07Speaker 1: I will say we need to have another OG band
- 11:10Speaker 1: episode because John Taylor of the minute got he got up. Hey,
- 11:13Speaker 1: he was just getting this, he was just starting to cook.
- 11:16Speaker 1: He was starting to cook. There's so much more we
- 11:17Speaker 1: can unpack, Like that was such a warm up episode.
- 11:20Speaker 3: Maybe they're going to have to come back in to
- 11:22Speaker 3: the MSG shows and play a song with us on
- 11:26Speaker 3: some stars like they.
- 11:27Speaker 1: Did back in the day.
- 11:29Speaker 2: But every you know, a couple weeks months, we should
- 11:32Speaker 2: have them back on tell some more stories, story telling
- 11:34Speaker 2: about which is what we're calling this episode. This is
- 11:37Speaker 2: story Time with the OG Band.
- 11:40Speaker 1: Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome to the pod the OG
- 11:42Speaker 1: Jonas Brother's Band, John Jack and Greg Garbowskie.
- 11:53Speaker 2: All right, oh good joy. Not everyone listens to this
- 11:58Speaker 2: pod is a lifelong Jonas Brothers fan. Shame on them,
- 12:05Speaker 2: Shame on them. We'll give you a brief history of
- 12:09Speaker 2: our relationship with these three guys. This goes back all
- 12:13Speaker 2: the way to what year, Greg, two thousand and five,
- 12:16Speaker 2: the timekeeper, Yeah, every date ever.
- 12:19Speaker 1: We The first person we've ever met on this couch
- 12:22Speaker 1: that we've ever met ever was John Lloyd Taylor. Yes,
- 12:26Speaker 1: and I loved to hear John your first interaction with
- 12:30Speaker 1: Nick which has to do with his nails. Oh yeah,
- 12:33Speaker 1: we've talked about to nails before on this podcast. You've
- 12:35Speaker 1: already reached the subject. Have we talked about the subject.
- 12:38Speaker 3: A conversation we had the other day about your toes
- 12:40Speaker 3: being out because of the hobby on us.
- 12:43Speaker 1: M yeah, like grown men and flip flops or something.
- 12:45Speaker 1: I get it. I got paid for that, so shut up,
- 12:48Speaker 1: go on.
- 12:49Speaker 5: I rolled in for my audition at the church on
- 12:52Speaker 5: Franklin Avenue in why coffee was not.
- 12:54Speaker 1: An audition for the church, he might break. The audition
- 12:57Speaker 1: was at the church. Church church was an extension of
- 12:59Speaker 1: the home.
- 13:00Speaker 5: Your father was a pastor at the Wycoff Assemblieve God.
- 13:03Speaker 5: And I brought my sisters back up because my sister's
- 13:06Speaker 5: very affable, likable, and I thought that that would make
- 13:09Speaker 5: me look like a family man, and you guys were
- 13:10Speaker 5: a family so that.
- 13:11Speaker 1: Was going to give me a leg up on it.
- 13:12Speaker 1: And beginning the facts. You were a delinquent, and yeah
- 13:15Speaker 1: I was.
- 13:15Speaker 5: I was a bit of a delinquent. Yes, a black sheep,
- 13:19Speaker 5: if you will. Somehow ended up as the adult in
- 13:22Speaker 5: the room for the first few years of this journey.
- 13:25Speaker 5: But I met Nick first. I was walking around the
- 13:29Speaker 5: church and Nick emerged out of the woods, which I
- 13:32Speaker 5: thought was kind of strange, like a feral child bounding
- 13:35Speaker 5: out of the woods. And he came up to me
- 13:37Speaker 5: and he gave me this very firm handshake, shook my hand.
- 13:41Speaker 5: I'm Nick it's very nice to meet you. I look
- 13:43Speaker 5: forward to playing music with you today. And I was like,
- 13:46Speaker 5: all right, man, he's twelve, twelve years old, and he
- 13:49Speaker 5: said he looked down at his feet. He was wearing
- 13:51Speaker 5: flip flops, and he said, excuse me, I have to
- 13:54Speaker 5: go back home and trim my toenails. I'll be right back,
- 13:57Speaker 5: and he disappeared back into the woods.
- 14:00Speaker 1: What what was that? It ever being tested? This is
- 14:04Speaker 1: the moment. It's like, okay, yeah, this tiny man emerges
- 14:09Speaker 1: from the woods. I think there was a graveyard back
- 14:11Speaker 1: in the way it was.
- 14:12Speaker 2: We had a path through the woods that led from
- 14:15Speaker 2: our backyard the parsonage to.
- 14:18Speaker 1: The church around another house. That's why I I rave
- 14:21Speaker 1: you specifically.
- 14:21Speaker 2: I was wearing flip flops, which I never did and
- 14:25Speaker 2: don't really to this day.
- 14:27Speaker 1: And I was so appalled when.
- 14:28Speaker 2: I looked down at my own feet at how long
- 14:31Speaker 2: my toenails were. And I really am glad though that
- 14:35Speaker 2: that's our first interaction.
- 14:37Speaker 1: It was a good one. It actually kind of was
- 14:39Speaker 1: a precursor to your relationship. Yeah, looking after each other's hygiene. Yeah,
- 14:45Speaker 1: person my collar before I leave the room. So John,
- 14:49Speaker 1: you audition for the band.
- 14:50Speaker 2: You you get the gig and we start to assemble
- 14:52Speaker 2: the rest of the pieces of the band, and one
- 14:53Speaker 2: of those very important pieces was great Orboski, which.
- 14:56Speaker 1: Was only like twenty minutes later. Your audition came in.
- 15:00Speaker 1: Were you were correct me for wrong? This is my
- 15:02Speaker 1: vision of you. Greg. You had a purple polo and
- 15:05Speaker 1: and cargo shorts, pink polo and Camo shorts, close Camo shorts,
- 15:11Speaker 1: Adita's T shirt, Armani exchange in jersey and.
- 15:16Speaker 6: Fun fact, I don't know when this episode airs, but
- 15:19Speaker 6: it is twenty one years ago to day that auditioned
- 15:23Speaker 6: that I auditioned way twenty one years ago to day, and.
- 15:29Speaker 1: We can buy you alcohol. Brought you, Greg, and we
- 15:31Speaker 1: brought you this actually got you this big edible thank you.
- 15:35Speaker 2: But you also have a weird interaction with one of
- 15:37Speaker 2: us from that day. Oh it was you, Well, I
- 15:41Speaker 2: thought it was Kevin.
- 15:42Speaker 1: For those for those of you who are the girlfriend
- 15:44Speaker 1: to this very that was you. Was very telling about
- 15:49Speaker 1: the interactions with I, Greg, Greg, who's you? Because people
- 15:52Speaker 1: are listening to this podcast, you listen to it.
- 15:54Speaker 7: It was one of the Jonas brothers.
- 15:55Speaker 1: No, it was Nick.
- 15:56Speaker 6: So I learned two songs on the spot, it was
- 15:59Speaker 6: I what I am in time for me to fly?
- 16:01Speaker 6: And then it was the second half of the audition.
- 16:03Speaker 6: I kind of realized was seeing if we get along.
- 16:06Speaker 6: So we went outside and just talked for a bit,
- 16:09Speaker 6: and then Nick was chemistry on the chemistry exam.
- 16:12Speaker 1: Yeah, Nick was thrown out chemistry.
- 16:14Speaker 7: Nick was like do you have a girlfriend? I guess.
- 16:17Speaker 6: We were also like, you know, are you are you
- 16:19Speaker 6: willing to kind of twelve years old? Yeah, willing to
- 16:22Speaker 6: leave your house, uh for years at a time and
- 16:25Speaker 6: go on tour? And I said no, and then I
- 16:27Speaker 6: said do you? And Nick was like no, the label,
- 16:30Speaker 6: the record label won't allow us to have girlfriends.
- 16:35Speaker 1: Who are you serious? He's like, no, roasted one, that's beautiful.
- 16:43Speaker 2: The real questions should not have been you know, do
- 16:45Speaker 2: you have a girlfriend? Do you know how to travel?
- 16:47Speaker 2: Like as an adult because we were all children, do
- 16:49Speaker 2: you how.
- 16:50Speaker 1: Do you know how to do? Also was no Greg
- 16:55Speaker 1: put was a tinfoil in the microwave on a tour
- 16:58Speaker 1: bus can of spaghettio.
- 16:59Speaker 7: So garb Yeah, it was a aluminum can.
- 17:02Speaker 1: We can we can break that open? If you want
- 17:04Speaker 1: to wait on Jack first? Jack first, Well, we will
- 17:06Speaker 1: say then many years later I was ten years later,
- 17:10Speaker 1: I would say no, twenty years later, one years later,
- 17:14Speaker 1: how much does a cardinal milk cost? One yearanks Giving? Thanksgiving? Sorry,
- 17:21Speaker 1: I was getting my dates back. I had my days
- 17:23Speaker 1: backward in the edible arrangements to be careful. Yeah, like
- 17:26Speaker 1: many many, many many years later, Thanksgiving Day, your mom
- 17:31Speaker 1: dropped you off? Yes, and I think you said by mom,
- 17:34Speaker 1: I see you, see you later, see you later. And
- 17:36Speaker 1: such a surfer you You went on to be our
- 17:39Speaker 1: our touring drummer. Yeah, and today's it's been it's been
- 17:45Speaker 1: a good run and it's been over. That was twenty
- 17:47Speaker 1: some years, twenty years this year.
- 17:49Speaker 8: Yeah, I didn't know any of you guys, and you
- 17:53Speaker 8: guys were all kind of going already.
- 17:54Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 17:54Speaker 8: Shout out to Alex the Noise for being an awesome
- 17:57Speaker 8: dude and awesome drummer too.
- 17:58Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 17:59Speaker 1: Absolutely, we love him. He quit when he quit, and
- 18:02Speaker 1: we got you. So yeah, everything worked out. I remember
- 18:05Speaker 1: my first interaction with Jack.
- 18:06Speaker 3: We were in Orlando, walking around downtown Orlando, because that's
- 18:09Speaker 3: what someone does in Orlando. We were like going to Starbucks're
- 18:12Speaker 3: going to Starbucks? And I asked you on this on
- 18:14Speaker 3: the slide like do you drink beer?
- 18:17Speaker 1: And you went didn't.
- 18:18Speaker 3: I could see your face, not sure how you should
- 18:20Speaker 3: answer this, knowing that we were both under twenty one
- 18:23Speaker 3: and you're like, drink responsibility everyone.
- 18:27Speaker 1: You looked at me and said.
- 18:30Speaker 3: Yeah, and I went sweet, me too. But no one
- 18:33Speaker 3: can know that was our interaction together. We were all
- 18:36Speaker 3: these for like.
- 18:36Speaker 2: Questions going back to the Thanksgiving date pickup that we
- 18:40Speaker 2: played a show in Pennsylvania the next day, the next
- 18:42Speaker 2: day in Pittsburgh, not on Thanksgiving. Yeah, no, you guys
- 18:45Speaker 2: would be diabolical.
- 18:46Speaker 8: You guys did the parade, did a lot of die
- 18:48Speaker 8: Thanksgiving parade.
- 18:49Speaker 1: Yeah, that's right.
- 18:50Speaker 8: We worked and then I met you guys that night,
- 18:52Speaker 8: and then we drove to Pittsburgh overnight.
- 18:54Speaker 2: And you showed up to our house in Little Falls,
- 18:56Speaker 2: New Jersey, which was a very very nice home. But yeah,
- 19:00Speaker 2: was was you know, we were in a bad financial spot.
- 19:04Speaker 7: It was the four of you guys in one bedroom.
- 19:06Speaker 2: If I recall correctly, we had invested, you know, far
- 19:10Speaker 2: more money into the band or our dad had than
- 19:13Speaker 2: we had, and I'm sure it was probably a strange
- 19:16Speaker 2: thing to get there and see the duality big word. Sorry,
- 19:20Speaker 2: duality of this little house and little Falls, New Jersey
- 19:23Speaker 2: and all of us kind of crammed into it, and
- 19:25Speaker 2: then this giant tour bus next to it, and that
- 19:28Speaker 2: was sort of summed up.
- 19:29Speaker 1: That square footage probably was almost comparable. That was a
- 19:34Speaker 1: small house. We had more room individually on that tour bus.
- 19:37Speaker 1: And and now you.
- 19:39Speaker 2: Know, we should talk about how we all still worked again. Jack,
- 19:42Speaker 2: obviously you're still playing with us every night.
- 19:44Speaker 1: It's awesome. We love you.
- 19:46Speaker 2: Greg is the head of creative and helps us basically
- 19:49Speaker 2: build out everything from A and R for our music,
- 19:51Speaker 2: to song choice to mixes and all the things and
- 19:53Speaker 2: just bigger creative conversations at a high level. And John
- 19:56Speaker 2: Taylor is literally our agent music not acting music agent.
- 20:01Speaker 2: I read your scripts, but yeah, it's cool.
- 20:04Speaker 1: What's your favorite part about script reading? An agent?
- 20:06Speaker 5: Working with you guys, that's my favorite part about being
- 20:08Speaker 5: an agent. No, but my favorite part about being an
- 20:10Speaker 5: agent is I like to say the agency is a half.
- 20:12Speaker 1: A phone call away from anything.
- 20:14Speaker 5: There's a lot of people that's in a building where
- 20:17Speaker 5: if you need something from someone, you can get a
- 20:19Speaker 5: hold of anyone at any time.
- 20:20Speaker 1: I love it. And no ideas, no idea is too big?
- 20:24Speaker 1: We do it? Is that John Taylor or Ari say
- 20:27Speaker 1: that you know it comes down? Okay? Do you bring
- 20:29Speaker 1: a paintball gun to the office? No, okay, I'm chilled out.
- 20:32Speaker 1: What's your morning routine look like at the office. I
- 20:35Speaker 1: just want to like a full visual. You walk in,
- 20:38Speaker 1: you got your coffee waiting. It's like, what's it look like?
- 20:40Speaker 5: I get there pretty early and just candidly. I do
- 20:43Speaker 5: an alcoholics anonymous meeting from eight to nine on zwing
- 20:46Speaker 5: up my desk. I'll be great, You're soberthday, congratulations, and
- 20:51Speaker 5: so I get my mind right and then people start
- 20:54Speaker 5: to come in around them between eight and nine, and
- 20:55Speaker 5: then we're off to the races.
- 20:57Speaker 1: I spend a lot of time on the phone. That's
- 20:58Speaker 1: not a meme. Agents on the phone a lot, Yeah,
- 21:01Speaker 1: but they're a call away of coffee, good pretty decent coffee,
- 21:04Speaker 1: not on your level, not on our level. Ta's coffee
- 21:07Speaker 1: or you make your own, or downstairs has good coffe. Coffee.
- 21:09Speaker 2: JT during COVID was my barista. Yeah, cyber and coffee.
- 21:13Speaker 2: I'm finding it hard to drink coffee as the older
- 21:16Speaker 2: I get. Man, I'm thirty three, as you know, of course,
- 21:19Speaker 2: almost thirty four and I don't think I can drink
- 21:22Speaker 2: coffee anymore.
- 21:23Speaker 1: It's over. I think it's over. My relationship with coffee
- 21:26Speaker 1: has come to an end after a good, solid run.
- 21:28Speaker 1: That sounds like a tragedy. Twenty years it.
- 21:30Speaker 7: Was red Bull first, that's coffee.
- 21:32Speaker 1: It just doesn't work. Today.
- 21:34Speaker 2: I had a coffee on the plane and it got
- 21:36Speaker 2: me jacked up again. It felt crazy, So I'm shifting.
- 21:39Speaker 2: There's been you heard it here first, which is another
- 21:41Speaker 2: chance for an ad than it once peptides peptiz I
- 21:44Speaker 2: did that.
- 21:44Speaker 1: It's awesome. I'm blinding that green tea is a better
- 21:47Speaker 1: caffeine source for me. Doesn't green tea? I could be
- 21:51Speaker 1: wrong here, have more caffeine.
- 21:53Speaker 2: It's the it's the bean of the coffee bean that
- 21:56Speaker 2: I'm kind of at war with it.
- 21:58Speaker 1: It's a steadier it's a steadier caffeine. But he also
- 22:02Speaker 1: only drinks iced americanos. So if we're going to get
- 22:05Speaker 1: in the coffee debate, maybe you're drinking the wrong coffee.
- 22:07Speaker 1: It would be my argument. I'll try it one more time.
- 22:09Speaker 1: There's a great barista gonna at the show today. You
- 22:11Speaker 1: should try his coffee. I'll give it you try not
- 22:13Speaker 1: before the show if you're having a hard time. Look
- 22:15Speaker 1: who's talking. Don't you have like two Americans and in
- 22:17Speaker 1: the GC me having an issue.
- 22:19Speaker 5: Yes, I support you doing whatever you need to do
- 22:21Speaker 5: to feek you in your body that.
- 22:23Speaker 1: You appreciate it. Facts. Okay.
- 22:25Speaker 2: So something interesting about Greg Garbowski is that he as
- 22:29Speaker 2: we went before I can remember anything, and before you
- 22:31Speaker 2: guys came on, we were talking about how the three
- 22:34Speaker 2: of us have different versions of a lot of stories
- 22:37Speaker 2: that we've all been a part of. Is there a
- 22:40Speaker 2: particular story or thing that we all look at and say, oh,
- 22:44Speaker 2: this happened this way, it happened this way. But you
- 22:45Speaker 2: know the truth about because you don't forget anything, is
- 22:50Speaker 2: there I feel like you guys get your dates pretty wrong?
- 22:54Speaker 1: Like you guys, there's like a black hole.
- 22:58Speaker 7: We were five years ago. I'm like, that was fifteen
- 23:01Speaker 7: years ago.
- 23:01Speaker 1: I just said Jack was many years. It took him
- 23:04Speaker 1: many years later he joined the band. That's insane.
- 23:06Speaker 7: It is there one particular story? I mean, where where do.
- 23:11Speaker 1: We write much better? For instance? Or where where do
- 23:16Speaker 1: we write now? Games?
- 23:18Speaker 7: Games? We wrote?
- 23:19Speaker 2: Before you answer, where do we write it? Joe Bob
- 23:23Speaker 2: Mason's living room.
- 23:24Speaker 1: That's how I remember it, Kevin, I wasn't there clip
- 23:29Speaker 1: it me neither.
- 23:31Speaker 7: That's correct.
- 23:32Speaker 1: We wrote it in the grand piano in the living room.
- 23:34Speaker 7: August of two thousand and five.
- 23:37Speaker 1: What was the date? You know it? It's August it
- 23:40Speaker 1: was something.
- 23:41Speaker 6: Yeah, that's very close. Yeah, I think you're right because
- 23:44Speaker 6: it was the Jesse McCartney tours.
- 23:46Speaker 1: A day off the Jesse McCartney tour. There you go.
- 23:48Speaker 1: I wasn't sleep next to you that night in bed.
- 23:51Speaker 7: I slept in a bunk bed, I think with alex
- 23:56Speaker 7: noise in the room, in the room, I.
- 23:58Speaker 1: Thought, I see my memory? Was it you and I
- 24:00Speaker 1: shared a bit?
- 24:05Speaker 3: I will say, I give you so much incredible like
- 24:08Speaker 3: credit to stick around with us for so many years
- 24:10Speaker 3: when we obviously had a financial issues and other things, and.
- 24:14Speaker 1: We were like, I'm pretty sure.
- 24:15Speaker 3: There's the holiday in on Route three forty six, Route
- 24:19Speaker 3: three right by the little falls.
- 24:20Speaker 1: That's the one that you guys stayed at, right, I
- 24:22Speaker 1: would stay there from time to time. I stayed on couch. Right.
- 24:25Speaker 3: The fact you're in a band, being paid as a musician,
- 24:28Speaker 3: and like living on.
- 24:30Speaker 1: Being paid is being paid? Well, Yeah, okay, so said.
- 24:35Speaker 2: Sometimes show of appreciation for all of sacrifice and staying
- 24:40Speaker 2: by your side through all of the craziness, we got
- 24:43Speaker 2: you beautiful.
- 24:49Speaker 1: Tends to give those out for business relationships. That's an
- 24:51Speaker 1: important business interesting. You know what they say, you got
- 24:54Speaker 1: to learn how to golf in business. Yeah, you gotta
- 24:56Speaker 1: be good. Half half a phone call away from medical arrangement.
- 25:00Speaker 1: I wasn't there. I know, I maybe it was. I
- 25:02Speaker 1: just don't remember being there. Maybe I just don't remember it.
- 25:04Speaker 1: I think you were publishing on the song. Now I
- 25:06Speaker 1: was there, you were there. Now you were there.
- 25:09Speaker 8: I remember you saying like just a couple of days ago,
- 25:11Speaker 8: like you don't remember like almost anything.
- 25:12Speaker 1: I have like very big gaps in my memory. Why
- 25:15Speaker 1: do you think that is trauma? I'm actually not kidding,
- 25:19Speaker 1: Like I've unpacked, so we don't think you're kidding. I've
- 25:24Speaker 1: unpacked it with my therapist.
- 25:25Speaker 3: There's like I think so much was going on and
- 25:27Speaker 3: I wanted to like I was fighting against the machine
- 25:29Speaker 3: for so bad, like being at that age where I
- 25:31Speaker 3: felt like I was older and I should be like
- 25:33Speaker 3: able to go do whatever.
- 25:34Speaker 1: I want to be.
- 25:34Speaker 3: I would theoretically be in college. That was my argument
- 25:37Speaker 3: to my parents constantly, which was like the machine No
- 25:41Speaker 3: no no, like the Jonas Brothers, where everything had to
- 25:44Speaker 3: be In my opinion, I had to live the same
- 25:46Speaker 3: life as like a twenty one year old that I
- 25:47Speaker 3: was living a like a sixteen year old's life.
- 25:50Speaker 2: And we talked about getting our dentists on the pod,
- 25:52Speaker 2: but I think we should get our therapists on they
- 25:54Speaker 2: should all that would be great self chat compare.
- 25:59Speaker 1: I was constantly anytime I'm on Zoom with her, I
- 26:04Speaker 1: like my goal and I think Greg and I we
- 26:05Speaker 1: spoke about this. You can get your therapists to laugh
- 26:08Speaker 1: you feel like you did something like really like a
- 26:10Speaker 1: big achievement, or if I can figure something about her
- 26:13Speaker 1: personal life. I know this is not why therapy exists.
- 26:15Speaker 1: And trust me, I also get therapies and it's great
- 26:17Speaker 1: and I love it. Shout out mental health, but like, okay,
- 26:20Speaker 1: well you know, you know, you don't have nothing to
- 26:22Speaker 1: talk about it. And also I saw like she had
- 26:24Speaker 1: like a banner from a marathon. I was like, oh,
- 26:26Speaker 1: she's a runner, and I'd like try to sneak that
- 26:28Speaker 1: into the conversation. That is, you know, as a parent,
- 26:32Speaker 1: you get it. Why are you trying to make your
- 26:35Speaker 1: therapists laugh? Are you trying to humanize your therapist to
- 26:37Speaker 1: make it more on your same level? I'm a Leo.
- 26:40Speaker 1: It's a little piece. It's a little Leo code and
- 26:42Speaker 1: it's will people please? You know?
- 26:44Speaker 2: But you.
- 26:47Speaker 7: Okay?
- 26:47Speaker 1: That is wild. You can learn something about your therapist
- 26:50Speaker 1: a little bit. I don't know, there's like I can't remember.
- 26:52Speaker 1: Everybody remember that.
- 26:53Speaker 2: If you also have weird things of trying to get
- 26:56Speaker 2: your therapists to laugh, or if you're out the personal life,
- 26:58Speaker 2: you can tell us at the at the at Hey
- 27:01Speaker 2: Jonas podcast.
- 27:02Speaker 1: Make me feel seen.
- 27:03Speaker 2: Wan want to hear about your relationship with your therapists
- 27:06Speaker 2: and and weird stuff too, because it's.
- 27:08Speaker 1: Important share a therapist.
- 27:10Speaker 5: But hey, we used to we used to call away.
- 27:16Speaker 1: That's great. It's like on Dennis trying to make you know,
- 27:19Speaker 1: a small talk with your mouth wide open with tools
- 27:22Speaker 1: in it. I play golf with my dentist. Yeah, I
- 27:24Speaker 1: lovest I play golf with your dentist. Yeah, we're talking about.
- 27:28Speaker 5: We talk about h life and and love and the
- 27:32Speaker 5: pursuit of happiness.
- 27:33Speaker 1: It's beautiful. Yeah, he's a good guy.
- 27:35Speaker 2: We have some questions in our fun question bowl, which
- 27:38Speaker 2: today is.
- 27:40Speaker 1: Uh an eight ball.
- 27:42Speaker 2: Nice clarifying.
- 27:51Speaker 1: I'm going to ask a question. I'm gonna go with
- 27:54Speaker 1: Greg Grabowski.
- 27:55Speaker 7: You're ape first hit me.
- 27:56Speaker 1: If you could be invisible for a day, what's the
- 27:58Speaker 1: first thing you do?
- 28:00Speaker 6: If I could be invisible for one day, what's the
- 28:02Speaker 6: first thing I would do?
- 28:04Speaker 7: Play bass for the Jonas Brothers.
- 28:05Speaker 6: And and turn down your your modern, your current day. Basically, Wow, No,
- 28:13Speaker 6: I'm kidding. He's actually incredible and I'm very very happy
- 28:18Speaker 6: that he took my spot because he's better than me.
- 28:22Speaker 1: What would I do?
- 28:22Speaker 7: I don't know.
- 28:24Speaker 1: I feel like it'd be fun to like mess just
- 28:25Speaker 1: be like yeah, just go around like messing with people.
- 28:30Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, still some chips off. We're in Vegas, so
- 28:32Speaker 1: still some chips off the table.
- 28:34Speaker 7: To a graveyard and like blow on people and.
- 28:39Speaker 8: Fun.
- 28:40Speaker 1: When I was like blowing people like I was thinking
- 28:42Speaker 1: of the dead people, I was like visiting the graveyard people.
- 28:46Speaker 7: Yeah, I'm haunting.
- 28:46Speaker 1: Okay, like it's a hauntsome people. Oh this is great. JT.
- 28:51Speaker 1: What app do you waste the most time on? I mean, well,
- 28:54Speaker 1: just pull up your screen time. Let's see it.
- 28:55Speaker 5: My screen time is going to say that I'm on
- 28:57Speaker 5: text messages more than anything.
- 28:59Speaker 1: But you're not wasted, you're working my screen time.
- 29:01Speaker 5: I also going to say it's like thirteen or fourteen
- 29:03Speaker 5: hours a day, so I don't pull that up because
- 29:04Speaker 5: it's depressing wasted time. I probably waste the most time
- 29:09Speaker 5: on Instagram because I really don't care about anything that's
- 29:12Speaker 5: on there.
- 29:13Speaker 7: Can we tell the story of when you guys had
- 29:14Speaker 7: a text off?
- 29:16Speaker 1: Yeah, that's great in OHI? Well what do you mean?
- 29:20Speaker 7: Text?
- 29:21Speaker 1: Was this John Joe fight? First? We were just retreat.
- 29:25Speaker 5: We were at the we were at Ohi, we were
- 29:27Speaker 5: at the Ohio Valley End. We shot out Ben cap Hart, General.
- 29:30Speaker 1: Went to high school with them, blacked out the keyboard twos.
- 29:32Speaker 2: They couldn't see, yeah, which keys they were hitting, so
- 29:35Speaker 2: they just had to do it off.
- 29:35Speaker 7: We gave them a sentence and they had to type
- 29:38Speaker 7: it and see who typed it faster? Should we do
- 29:40Speaker 7: one right now?
- 29:41Speaker 1: I mean I'm still pretty quick.
- 29:43Speaker 5: I'm afraid of nothing less typos and the track.
- 29:47Speaker 1: I can go for it. Let's go a little rest Joe. Yeah,
- 29:51Speaker 1: I'm a little rested, all right. Well he John doesn't
- 29:53Speaker 1: know is that's a lot? Okay? Greg or BASKI here
- 29:55Speaker 1: you go me again. Oh no, not you, Jack, Sorry,
- 29:59Speaker 1: if only slated tomorrow. What's the first thing you'd show them?
- 30:03Speaker 7: I'd show them the drums I have in my basement.
- 30:08Speaker 1: Check you know what I got? You travel like seven
- 30:11Speaker 1: hundreds in my basement. Can't show them a dog or something?
- 30:17Speaker 1: How cool was this? Jack got these parad We got
- 30:20Speaker 1: to talk about it.
- 30:21Speaker 2: You, you and your wife recently moved back to New Jersey.
- 30:25Speaker 8: We did so excited about the greetings from your hometown
- 30:29Speaker 8: that you actually made the actually kind of almost at it.
- 30:32Speaker 8: I moved next to my hometown.
- 30:34Speaker 1: I'm so proud of you. Thank you, so exciting. It's

- 33:54Speaker 5: to Miley's movie, and it was like Miley's movie was bigger,
- 33:57Speaker 5: and if somebody was one better than we weren't the best.
- 33:59Speaker 5: And that's that's a disaster in the way that we
- 34:01Speaker 5: were wired at the time. Thank you, shout out mental health,

- 35:15Speaker 5: She threw the cell phone across that you bought her,
- 35:17Speaker 5: across the parking lot she bought And I thought about,
- 35:19Speaker 5: she bought it for you. It's like a burner phone
- 35:21Speaker 5: that she bought for you so that no one could
- 35:22Speaker 5: because the machine that he was pushing against was raging again.
- 35:26Speaker 5: He was raging against the machine talking. Threw that phone
- 35:30Speaker 5: across the parking lot, and I saw her do it,
