Slash’s New Snake Found in New Guinea | Toronto News
Scientists at the Field Museum in Chicago just unveiled a new snake species from New Guinea, aptly named Lielaphis slashi—a tribute to legendary guitarist Slash. This harmless, reddish-brown groundsnake, about 71 cm long, was first spotted in 2006 and confirmed through genetic testing as a distinct species.
