- 0:23Speaker 1: a chance.
- 0:23Speaker 3: Of winning, but got up.
- 0:25Speaker 4: I am bad and ain't know I'm bad?
- 0:27Speaker 5: Why am the man?
- 0:28Speaker 4: I am?
- 0:28Speaker 3: Look there with the dollars to speak me out. Welcome
- 0:35Speaker 3: to the grill out from the heart.
- 0:37Speaker 2: That's Sheilliam, West Virginia.
- 0:39Speaker 3: Here's your host, Hollywood, Chef Petty.
- 0:45Speaker 4: Welcome back, ladies, gentlemen, you the grillouns. I'm your host, Hollywood,
- 0:48Speaker 4: Jeff Petty, and I'm joined here with the reflection of perfection.
- 0:53Speaker 2: That's right, I am back, ladies and gentlemen, the reflection
- 0:57Speaker 2: of perfection. Jasonlykins is here to make something good out
- 1:01Speaker 2: of this.
- 1:01Speaker 4: Yeah, doctor Jason Linkins, thank you, Yes, thank you.
- 1:05Speaker 1: But we do have a guest here with us.
- 1:07Speaker 4: Founded in twenty seventeen, Real Shoot Wrestling is based out
- 1:10Speaker 4: of Fairmont, West Virginia. It is one of the more
- 1:13Speaker 4: active promotions in our state. They run shows in different
- 1:17Speaker 4: parts of West Virginia and occasionally in Ohio, and have
- 1:20Speaker 4: also done some shows in Pennsylvania. They have a show
- 1:23Speaker 4: this Saturday, June twenty first, at the Gomart Ballpark in Charleston.
- 1:28Speaker 4: Joining me right now is the owner and booker of RSW,
- 1:32Speaker 4: Tim Cross. How you doing, Tim?
- 1:34Speaker 5: How you doing nice? Thanks for having me?
- 1:36Speaker 4: Hey, no problem? Yeah, yeah, I appreciate having you here.
- 1:40Speaker 4: Real quick, what this is just one question I like
- 1:42Speaker 4: to ask everybody, and it seems like a very cliche question.
- 1:46Speaker 2: How tall are you?
- 1:48Speaker 4: I mean you could you could let us know that.
- 1:52Speaker 5: I'm short. I'm like, I'm like five to eleven.
- 1:56Speaker 2: Okay, listen, listen ten you're saying I have eleven in
- 2:00Speaker 2: or show I'm shorter than that, so don't don't be
- 2:02Speaker 2: saying short.
- 2:05Speaker 1: Listen.
- 2:05Speaker 4: I'm a chrisp for five six, So I'm.
- 2:08Speaker 5: Just I'm just around a lot of wrestlers, so I'm
- 2:10Speaker 5: used to looking up.
- 2:11Speaker 1: That's that's very true.
- 2:12Speaker 4: I'm I'm sure you feel vertically challenged around certain especially
- 2:16Speaker 4: certain wrestlers.
- 2:18Speaker 5: Yeah, and we in fact had a we had one
- 2:21Speaker 5: come in last month and uh wrestle our Internet champion.
- 2:25Speaker 5: He was literally seven feet tall, like exactly seven foot
- 2:30Speaker 5: on the dot. And what's funny is he kind of
- 2:32Speaker 5: got there late, so no one got to see him.
- 2:34Speaker 5: And then when everybody saw him come out, it was
- 2:36Speaker 5: it was like, oh my, like, who's this Like where
- 2:40Speaker 5: did this guy come from from? Because, uh, because our
- 2:44Speaker 5: Internet champion is a big boy anyway. So uh so
- 2:49Speaker 5: whenever he came out and he was looking up at him,
- 2:51Speaker 5: whenever they started the ring, everybody was kind of wow.
- 2:54Speaker 5: And I got some text messages saying that, who the
- 2:57Speaker 5: heck's this guy and stuff like that. So, you know, yeah,
- 3:01Speaker 5: I'm definitely used to uh looking up to them, So
- 3:04Speaker 5: I understand what it's like. Man, don't worry.
- 3:07Speaker 2: You know, from my understanding, seven feet told you can't
- 3:09Speaker 2: teach that.
- 3:11Speaker 5: We at least that's what we've been taught. Yeah, I
- 3:13Speaker 5: guess they taught us that you can't teach that.
- 3:17Speaker 4: Yes, no, no, And and you know, I.
- 3:21Speaker 5: Don't know did we learn so did were were we
- 3:23Speaker 5: actually taught that?
- 3:25Speaker 4: I don't know. I know that now. Yeah, I don't know.
- 3:29Speaker 2: You're a bit of a conundrum there. We'll have to
- 3:31Speaker 2: circle back to that.
- 3:32Speaker 5: Yeah, yeah, yeah, you know, why did chicken cross the road?
- 3:36Speaker 4: Yeah, we're still trying to figure that out. We're still
- 3:39Speaker 4: trying to figure out how many licks it takes to
- 3:40Speaker 4: get to the center of a TUTSI pop.
- 3:42Speaker 2: Which chicken or the term buckle?
- 3:45Speaker 4: There you go. Yeah, but what real quick like what
- 3:50Speaker 4: was your first like exposure to wrestling? Have you been
- 3:52Speaker 4: a lifelong wrestling fan?
- 3:53Speaker 2: Like what got you into it?
- 3:55Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 3:56Speaker 5: Basically, uh, you know, I was you know, I'm from
- 4:00Speaker 5: West Virginia, the northern part of West Virginia anyway, So
- 4:03Speaker 5: you know six o five with Grandma on Saturdays was
- 4:08Speaker 5: a big thing. And then you know, Bobby the Brain
- 4:12Speaker 5: and Gorilla Monsoon on on Monday Nights was you know
- 4:17Speaker 5: a big thing for me too, So I actually got
- 4:20Speaker 5: you know, I had both, so I was watching both.
- 4:23Speaker 5: I had my dad was a big you know w
- 4:25Speaker 5: W F saying and my grandma was a big w
- 4:28Speaker 5: CW fan. So I was watching both all the time
- 4:32Speaker 5: basically from the from the beginning. So you know that
- 4:37Speaker 5: that's been mine is just basically my family probably the
- 4:41Speaker 5: easiest way to answer that, between my dad and my grandma,
- 4:45Speaker 5: that was definitely my way of getting into it visually
- 4:51Speaker 5: as a kid. So that's always been but you know,
- 4:56Speaker 5: because of it, I've always been That's why I've also
- 4:59Speaker 5: always been more w CW. I also remember watching w
- 5:03Speaker 5: CCW so because it would be at like four o'clock
- 5:06Speaker 5: on ESPN way back in the nineties every day. Yeah,
- 5:12Speaker 5: so I was just like zoomed to it because it
- 5:15Speaker 5: was just you know, that's where you know, you got
- 5:17Speaker 5: your first view of the free Birds and von Erics
- 5:22Speaker 5: and then like all the guys that later became a
- 5:25Speaker 5: big deal in other places, you know, so that was
- 5:28Speaker 5: always really cool.
- 5:29Speaker 2: Yeah, there was someone who got their start in w CCW.
- 5:32Speaker 2: His name is a Sean Hickenbottom. I don't know whatever
- 5:35Speaker 2: happened to him, but I think he became he you know,
- 5:39Speaker 2: I think he could have been good. You know, I
- 5:42Speaker 2: saw him and it could have been something.
- 5:44Speaker 4: Yeah, I think I think he's doing kind of well
- 5:45Speaker 4: for hisself these days.
- 5:47Speaker 2: So w CW, who did you Who was your favorite
- 5:51Speaker 2: go to there?
- 5:53Speaker 5: Okay, so I really liked the question. Oddly enough, always
- 5:58Speaker 5: was part Anderson, Yes, he was. He was my guy.
- 6:04Speaker 5: I was always into arn and then I was always
- 6:07Speaker 5: into And this is what's funny. It is like, you know,
- 6:11Speaker 5: whenever New Japan became like a big deal, and you know,
- 6:13Speaker 5: it was like, you know, cool to like him, and
- 6:16Speaker 5: then it would know it was like super cool to
- 6:18Speaker 5: like him, but then it wasn't cool to like it,
- 6:19Speaker 5: but like I've always been into like Japanese wrestling in
- 6:23Speaker 5: some way, so like for me, it was my big
- 6:27Speaker 5: feuds that I remember growing up as a kid, like
- 6:29Speaker 5: in w c W that I was like always pumped
- 6:32Speaker 5: about seeing was Arn and Muda and Pilman and Liger
- 6:36Speaker 5: like that. Those were those were my go to feuds
- 6:40Speaker 5: when everybody else was like, yo, you know Sting's doing
- 6:42Speaker 5: this and Player's doing that, and I was just always like,
- 6:46Speaker 5: what is Arn and Pilman and Muda and Laker doing that?
- 6:51Speaker 2: You can't go wrong with double a no the the
- 6:54Speaker 2: oh yeah, the best spinebuster ever in the history of
- 6:57Speaker 2: the business, Arn Anderson. Yes.
- 7:01Speaker 4: And actually the other day I was watching an old
- 7:04Speaker 4: I was actually watching an old WCW. I sat down
- 7:06Speaker 4: and watched Russell Ward in nineteen ninety there you go on.
- 7:09Speaker 4: Uh it was on YouTube because they have the WCW
- 7:12Speaker 4: channel there now and you.
- 7:13Speaker 2: Can yeah a bunch now.
- 7:15Speaker 1: They did have like.
- 7:16Speaker 4: A long, like a like a stream going where they
- 7:19Speaker 4: were just playing reruns, just one after the other. But
- 7:21Speaker 4: I guess they stopped it because I was getting ready
- 7:23Speaker 4: to turn into one and have it in the background
- 7:24Speaker 4: but I was like, okay, I'll turn on Wressell War
- 7:26Speaker 4: and then I see Arn come out, And sometimes I
- 7:29Speaker 4: forget how much Arn and Only look alike even though
- 7:34Speaker 4: they're they're not related in any way, shape or form.
- 7:37Speaker 4: They walk out, I'm like, wait a minute, I had
- 7:39Speaker 4: to take a double take.
- 7:40Speaker 2: Well, and also, how Arn Anderson has looked like he
- 7:42Speaker 2: was forty years old even whenever he was twenty.
- 7:45Speaker 5: Yeah, oh my gosh. Yeah, Like honestly, for him, the
- 7:48Speaker 5: dude's not aged. No, you know, in the face, he
- 7:51Speaker 5: looked the exact same.
- 7:52Speaker 2: See I iways, remember I was always a WCW person,
- 7:56Speaker 2: Like I loved WCW more than WW. Well, let me
- 8:00Speaker 2: ask you this. Do you think it's crazy that it's
- 8:02Speaker 2: been WWE longer than it's been ww F.
- 8:08Speaker 5: Yeah, weird hearing it like that?
- 8:12Speaker 2: Did your hip just break? Mind?
- 8:13Speaker 4: Did?
- 8:15Speaker 5: No? But you know that weird shugar you get after
- 8:17Speaker 5: you get it, you sneeze and you feel like, oh man,
- 8:19Speaker 5: I'm going to get a cold. Yeah that's what just happened.
- 8:24Speaker 5: Don't say that again.
- 8:25Speaker 2: I'll try not to.
- 8:27Speaker 5: But uh, but yeah, I mean, at this point, uh,
- 8:31Speaker 5: it's it's getting to there, to where it's like, yeah,
- 8:33Speaker 5: it makes sense just now, you know. But I mean
- 8:37Speaker 5: at the same time, with us being fans at our age,
- 8:40Speaker 5: I mean, look at all the stuff we've we've went
- 8:42Speaker 5: through and seen at this point. I mean, at one time,
- 8:46Speaker 5: like it's always been WW on top, but at one
- 8:49Speaker 5: time there was like it felt like more going on
- 8:55Speaker 5: than it does right now. Like of course you got AW,
- 8:58Speaker 5: you got you know, you got the company, but at
- 9:00Speaker 5: the same time, like it just felt more. It just
- 9:04Speaker 5: felt bigger when it was like WCW and AWA and
- 9:09Speaker 5: ww S and WA and you know that stuff. To me,
- 9:13Speaker 5: it just felt bigger. But you know, at the same time,
- 9:16Speaker 5: it's by it because I was a kid and I
- 9:18Speaker 5: didn't know nothing. So you know, things change once you
- 9:22Speaker 5: start to understand what's going on behind the scenes.
- 9:25Speaker 2: So you know, the rose colored glasses absolutely.
- 9:29Speaker 4: I was gonna say, like when I was younger, I
- 9:31Speaker 4: mean I grew up at the tail end of the
- 9:33Speaker 4: attitude era going into the ruthless aggression era, and I
- 9:37Speaker 4: thought the greatest reign was reign of terror, And then
- 9:40Speaker 4: I get older, I'm like, oh no, oh, no.
- 9:43Speaker 5: Oh, yeah, I mean, you know, I mean, unless you've
- 9:46Speaker 5: done it, you don't really realize it until you go
- 9:49Speaker 5: back and do it. You're just like, man, this I
- 9:52Speaker 5: love this stuff. This is the stuff that you know, god,
- 9:56Speaker 5: that I remember watching as a kid, and then you
- 9:58Speaker 5: go back and watch it, you're like, oh, like I
- 10:04Speaker 5: liked this. Like I'm like I liked you know, there
- 10:07Speaker 5: was probably one good match an episode, but the only
- 10:10Speaker 5: thing that we're keeping us there was like, you know,
- 10:13Speaker 5: who knows what's going to happen next, and you know
- 10:16Speaker 5: that kind of mentality you when you you know, when
- 10:19Speaker 5: you go back and look at it now, it's like
- 10:22Speaker 5: I should probably go back further because I'll probably like
- 10:25Speaker 5: it better. That's I mean, that's just with me though,
- 10:27Speaker 5: But I've always felt that, you know, being a true
- 10:30Speaker 5: wrestling fan. The attitude there was you know, the boom.
- 10:34Speaker 5: But at the same time, for wrestling itself, there was
- 10:39Speaker 5: probably about an hour worth of it that was good
- 10:41Speaker 5: every week, and there was what eight hours down hours
- 10:46Speaker 5: on TV.
- 10:48Speaker 2: So yeah, the attitude there was more story than substance.
- 10:53Speaker 2: Oh yeah, you know, I was, Oh yeah. The one
- 10:57Speaker 2: thing that I can say in my opinion about the
- 10:59Speaker 2: attitue who they are at least with you know, WWE,
- 11:02Speaker 2: is they tried to get everyone on the show, like
- 11:04Speaker 2: everyone was doing something.
- 11:07Speaker 5: Yeah, exactly. Dean Ambrose said it best. I watched the
- 11:10Speaker 5: show where he was just like, you know, there were
- 11:13Speaker 5: just so many people back then, and there was just
- 11:15Speaker 5: you know, there was people in the back and they
- 11:16Speaker 5: just be like, you know, I got bread, you got
- 11:19Speaker 5: you got peanut butter, well, I got jelly, you want
- 11:22Speaker 5: to make some sandwiches? Like that's the best way he
- 11:25Speaker 5: put it, because it was just like faction on faction
- 11:28Speaker 5: on faction. It's like, yeah, this guy's in a singles match,
- 11:31Speaker 5: but each guy has three or four guys hanging out
- 11:33Speaker 5: outside the rings, you know what I mean. It's like
- 11:37Speaker 5: it's like going and see you know, little Wayne in concert,
- 11:40Speaker 5: there's twelve other people on stage. Yeah, that's basically what
- 11:44Speaker 5: it's like, because you know everybody you wanted to get
- 11:47Speaker 5: everybody on TV, and you wanted to you know that way,
- 11:51Speaker 5: no matter what you liked, you knew you would at
- 11:54Speaker 5: least see the guy you like. You know, I always
- 11:57Speaker 5: hated the oddities, but all of my friends they always
- 12:00Speaker 5: talk about how much they loved the oddities, like they
- 12:02Speaker 5: loved what it was, what they were, and you know,
- 12:05Speaker 5: they that was something that they watched for that was
- 12:08Speaker 5: something I went to the bathroom during, you know what
- 12:10Speaker 5: I mean.
- 12:11Speaker 2: The saddest thing about the Oddities was that the best
- 12:14Speaker 2: one on their John Tenta Goga, never really wrestled. Yeah.
- 12:19Speaker 5: Yeah, but at the same time, I mean, was his
- 12:21Speaker 5: body even able to really wrestle with?
- 12:24Speaker 6: You know?
- 12:25Speaker 5: So, you know, mainly I think they were just doing
- 12:28Speaker 5: you know, a good guy a favor, you know what
- 12:30Speaker 5: I mean, which was funny if you watch that behind
- 12:34Speaker 5: you know, that dark side of the Ring, like he
- 12:38Speaker 5: he really wasn't that bad. They should have probably did
- 12:41Speaker 5: that on like the natural disasters, not so much him,
- 12:45Speaker 5: because like you know, that one was just like a
- 12:47Speaker 5: heartbreaking story. There was no like real dark side other
- 12:50Speaker 5: than just like the guy was yellish, crappy hand, you
- 12:54Speaker 5: know what I mean. Yeah, a buddy of mine brought
- 12:57Speaker 5: that up to me, and I was like, yeah, I know,
- 12:58Speaker 5: I felt like, out of all the people, he didn't
- 13:01Speaker 5: do anything bad. I don't really think he deserved a
- 13:04Speaker 5: dark side of the Ring in that sense compared to
- 13:07Speaker 5: everybody else. Anyway.
- 13:08Speaker 4: Yeah, when they announced that that that that episode, I
- 13:11Speaker 4: kind of looked at it sideways. I was like, I
- 13:13Speaker 4: don't know about that. I think we even talked about
- 13:15Speaker 4: that on the show, Like that one's kind of out
- 13:17Speaker 4: of left field like that.
- 13:18Speaker 5: I feel like that one was just more informational than
- 13:21Speaker 5: anything else because there was a whole lot of people
- 13:22Speaker 5: that were just like, heck, I didn't know that he
- 13:24Speaker 5: was a SZUMO wrestler and did all that. I think
- 13:26Speaker 5: I know he was a total you know, as they say,
- 13:29Speaker 5: he was total you know, badass. Yeah, so like you know,
- 13:35Speaker 5: and when THEE when he came over, and it made
- 13:36Speaker 5: more sense to me too, because I mean as a kid,
- 13:39Speaker 5: I mean, did you know where he came from? You
- 13:40Speaker 5: know what I mean other than just seeing him on
- 13:43Speaker 5: you know, WCW or WWE depending on where you saw
- 13:48Speaker 5: him mac because he was on both. But like you
- 13:50Speaker 5: didn't really know anything about him, but now you know
- 13:52Speaker 5: you do, and it's just like wow, like I could
- 13:55Speaker 5: have got behind this guy if they would have told
- 13:57Speaker 5: me this part. But they didn't tell me this part,
- 14:00Speaker 5: you know exactly.
- 14:02Speaker 4: We're here sitting talking with owner and booker of RSW,
- 14:06Speaker 4: Tim Cross. You were talking a little bit about like
- 14:08Speaker 4: how you look at it different once you're doing it.
- 14:12Speaker 4: How long have you been involved with the wrestling business.
- 14:16Speaker 5: I'm going on nineteen years at this point some way,
- 14:20Speaker 5: shape or form involved either as someone that is wrestling
- 14:25Speaker 5: or in the back helping out, to basically being an
- 14:31Speaker 5: intern in a way and just basically doing whatever somebody
- 14:35Speaker 5: needs done, and then becoming the promoter, and then now
- 14:43Speaker 5: I'm well an owner, and then then it became a
- 14:48Speaker 5: situation where I've just now I have somebody else a promoter,
- 14:53Speaker 5: and I now just book here. So basically the way
- 14:57Speaker 5: it works is I book everything, but I have a
- 15:00Speaker 5: promoter in Ohio, I have a promoter here, and there's
- 15:04Speaker 5: there's actually two promoters in the state that I work with,
- 15:07Speaker 5: and basically it's just rsw and I book everything and
- 15:11Speaker 5: you just kind of rotate with it and they make
- 15:12Speaker 5: sure that each town gets fired and promoted.
- 15:16Speaker 2: In So is that hard giving up promoting, like taking
- 15:19Speaker 2: a step away from that to just be the booker or.
- 15:24Speaker 5: Doing it as long as as I was. No, Really,
- 15:28Speaker 5: it's not, because it's it's it's one of those situations
- 15:32Speaker 5: where I was taught, like you do everything in house,
- 15:37Speaker 5: and you know, so you don't worry about other people
- 15:40Speaker 5: and you don't worry about you know, if you're doing it.
- 15:43Speaker 5: You know, you're getting it done the way you want
- 15:45Speaker 5: and done right, you know what I mean. And so
- 15:48Speaker 5: it was it was hard in the sense of like
- 15:52Speaker 5: doing it all and then getting to the point to
- 15:55Speaker 5: where I've kind of I don't want to say like army,
- 15:58Speaker 5: but built this group of of guys that's just willing
- 16:01Speaker 5: to help out around me. And it was it was
- 16:04Speaker 5: hard to kind of give up jobs, like because I
- 16:08Speaker 5: used to, you know, make all the flyers. Well I've
- 16:11Speaker 5: now given that to somebody else. I used to promote everything.
- 16:15Speaker 5: I have now given that to somebody else, you know,
- 16:17Speaker 5: like I'm still like the guy that does all the promos,
- 16:20Speaker 5: like I edit everything, and I'm the social media guy.
- 16:23Speaker 5: But now I've even like came out and then let
- 16:25Speaker 5: the let the group know, like, hey, like I'm gonna
- 16:28Speaker 5: need some help. Uh you know, I I'm tired of
- 16:31Speaker 5: dealing with social media. But now that's just made me
- 16:36Speaker 5: Once once somebody else is gets into a position, I
- 16:39Speaker 5: then rotate into something else because I just I just
- 16:44Speaker 5: want to build this as big as possible in the
- 16:46Speaker 5: sense of, you know, there's gonna be some kids that
- 16:49Speaker 5: just they're not going to be able to get to
- 16:52Speaker 5: even a house show in today's day and age, So like, dude,
- 16:58Speaker 5: are they going to get the Cwwe No, But can
- 17:02Speaker 5: they go to a local indie show? Yeah, So I'm
- 17:05Speaker 5: going to give them the biggest and coolest looking situation
- 17:10Speaker 5: they possibly can, Like in comparison to everybody else, Like
- 17:14Speaker 5: there's not a lot of people doing what we do
- 17:16Speaker 5: in the sense of the way our ring looks, the
- 17:18Speaker 5: way our production looks, our entry ways, smoke, sound lights,
- 17:24Speaker 5: the way we film stuff, the way we put out promos.
- 17:26Speaker 5: There's not a lot of people doing what we do.
- 17:29Speaker 5: And I take a lot of pride in that. I
- 17:31Speaker 5: mean there is some yes, but at the same time,
- 17:35Speaker 5: like it's just from it being like literally two people
- 17:39Speaker 5: to where it's now like there's a whole crew. And
- 17:43Speaker 5: we had like I was ranting rings when we first started,
- 17:46Speaker 5: and now we have two rings. We just bought a
- 17:50Speaker 5: box truck this week, so we'll make moving and moving
- 17:53Speaker 5: around stuff easier. So like it's watching this, I work
- 17:58Speaker 5: so hard and keep it going because I've treat this
- 18:01Speaker 5: like a touring band instead of maybe like how other
- 18:04Speaker 5: people treat it like a once a month a month promotion.
- 18:08Speaker 5: So the way we handle things. It's just we're on
- 18:12Speaker 5: the go so much. I kind of get to look
- 18:14Speaker 5: at how much we've grown because we're moving so much,
- 18:17Speaker 5: and it's sometimes like, you know, the time I've put in,
- 18:21Speaker 5: it's definitely panned off and the tenfold. So, you know,
- 18:26Speaker 5: because of that at this point, you know, just being
- 18:30Speaker 5: the booker after you know, giving everybody their jobs. Now,
- 18:34Speaker 5: it's weird because through past couple of shows, I've literally
- 18:37Speaker 5: just like the people I've trained to take those positions,
- 18:41Speaker 5: I've literally just been able to sit back and not
- 18:43Speaker 5: only watch the show, but watch them do their jobs too,
- 18:47Speaker 5: And it's just it's kind of cool. You know. It's
- 18:50Speaker 5: like being a trainer to the extent of watching you know,
- 18:52Speaker 5: your kids go out there and have a good match.
- 18:54Speaker 5: But like I'm now at the point to where I'm
- 18:56Speaker 5: watching kids put on good matches and I'm also watching
- 18:59Speaker 5: my guys back do everything they're supposed to do, because
- 19:03Speaker 5: you know, not everybody wants to be or has to
- 19:05Speaker 5: be a wrestler to be in this business, you know
- 19:08Speaker 5: what I mean.
- 19:08Speaker 2: Yeah, well, let me let me ask you this because
- 19:11Speaker 2: you know, on your All's YouTube channel, it says we're
- 19:13Speaker 2: not a pro wrestling company. We're a wrestling experience. Okay,
- 19:18Speaker 2: so what what are people experiencing when they go there?
- 19:21Speaker 2: You know, tell us what is what are we going into?
- 19:27Speaker 5: It's the best, the best way to go about it
- 19:29Speaker 5: is like all all the things that you're that you
- 19:34Speaker 5: remember growing up on, or like you remember being talked about,
- 19:38Speaker 5: or you know, the good things that is. This is
- 19:42Speaker 5: just like when you go there, the ring's going to
- 19:45Speaker 5: look a certain way. It's going to be uniformed, there's
- 19:48Speaker 5: a logo in the middle. The entryway is going to
- 19:50Speaker 5: look a certain way. There's gonna be there's gonna be
- 19:53Speaker 5: lights that are spinning and fog going off, and the
- 19:55Speaker 5: announcer looks good. And it's instead of that whole like
- 20:00Speaker 5: you come into a building, it smells bad. The ring
- 20:04Speaker 5: looks like it's going to fall apart. There's a dog
- 20:07Speaker 5: running around, you know what I mean?
- 20:09Speaker 2: Like sadly what you mean?
- 20:12Speaker 6: It's yeah, I mean if you've went to any you know,
- 20:15Speaker 6: there's promotions that I used to wrestle for that I
- 20:18Speaker 6: would go, you know, I would go set up and
- 20:21Speaker 6: there'd be three or four dogs.
- 20:23Speaker 5: Just running around.
- 20:24Speaker 6: I'm just like, what are we doing?
- 20:26Speaker 5: And but you know that is what it is. And
- 20:29Speaker 5: you know, some people decide to to do that. But
- 20:33Speaker 5: with us, like you know, whenever you tell your buddies
- 20:37Speaker 5: about wrestling, you know, nobody really goes like, hey, man,
- 20:40Speaker 5: well you know this really crappy match happened, or oh
- 20:43Speaker 5: this these guys were really crappy and butt heads and
- 20:46Speaker 5: they did this, they did that. You know, you don't
- 20:48Speaker 5: ever go and talk about the bad stuff, you know
- 20:50Speaker 5: what I mean. It's like, hey, I went there and
- 20:52Speaker 5: this three hundred pounds dude diet a moon salt off
- 20:55Speaker 5: the top, and then these guys had a really good match,
- 20:57Speaker 5: and you know there was either there was this great
- 21:01Speaker 5: women's match, and you know, there was a there was
- 21:04Speaker 5: a hardcore match and stuff like that. You talk about
- 21:06Speaker 5: all the good things, well, basically we try to present
- 21:09Speaker 5: all those good things all at once to where it's
- 21:13Speaker 5: it's not just going and watching the pro wrestling show.
- 21:16Speaker 5: Like you it's kind of like watching the going and
- 21:18Speaker 5: watching the Savannah Bananas. It's like your experience in baseball,
- 21:22Speaker 5: but your experience all the fun parts of it.
- 21:25Speaker 2: Yeah, you're you're making memories exactly.
- 21:28Speaker 5: Yeah, like that, and that is basically what what I
- 21:33Speaker 5: got like what it did. Well, why I even got
- 21:36Speaker 5: into the first place for me was like, you know,
- 21:39Speaker 5: obviously there needs to be money made, but that can't
- 21:44Speaker 5: be the main focus for you know, it's kind of
- 21:47Speaker 5: those you're not going to be able to see the
- 21:48Speaker 5: forest from the trees because you're not going to be
- 21:51Speaker 5: able to get to where you really want to go.
- 21:53Speaker 5: You got to understand the business side of things. I mean,
- 21:56Speaker 5: obviously that's the main goal. And thankfully that where we
- 22:00Speaker 5: are and have been for a couple of years now
- 22:02Speaker 5: to where you know, this is all this is my job,
- 22:06Speaker 5: Like we do it so much that I don't have
- 22:09Speaker 5: time for a legit like nine to five because of
- 22:14Speaker 5: doing this so much. So I'm very thankful in that sense.
- 22:17Speaker 2: Well, we go ahead. We talked about you know, you
- 22:21Speaker 2: getting into this. We talked about the past, so now
- 22:24Speaker 2: kind of your future that you're doing is also respecting
- 22:28Speaker 2: the past because you've now started a Hall of fame.
- 22:31Speaker 2: So yes, what how how did this come about? You know,
- 22:35Speaker 2: your's first inaugural class consisted of Adorable Danny Ray and
- 22:39Speaker 2: the Urban Death Squad Spider Crawley and Johnny Blast What
- 22:43Speaker 2: is this significance of these three being your inaugural inductees
- 22:47Speaker 2: and why did you go with them?
- 22:49Speaker 6: Uh?
- 22:50Speaker 5: Well, uha for for a real shoot, the way we're
- 22:54Speaker 5: doing it is we didn't want to just do one
- 22:56Speaker 5: to do one because and I'm not trying to pull
- 22:59Speaker 5: back any type of curve and hear anything, but there's
- 23:02Speaker 5: some people that do a Hall of Fames just to
- 23:07Speaker 5: sell some tickets. I mean it's kind of bull crap
- 23:11Speaker 5: in a sense, like they're just picking names. It's people
- 23:15Speaker 5: that's never even worked for them before, h you know,
- 23:18Speaker 5: and it's just it's weird to me. So I didn't
- 23:20Speaker 5: want to like just jump into doing it for no reason.
- 23:24Speaker 5: But after a while, I mean eight years, you know,
- 23:29Speaker 5: so we we got around to just like it got
- 23:35Speaker 5: to the point to where it meant something and it
- 23:37Speaker 5: wasn't just a It wasn't just just to do a thing,
- 23:40Speaker 5: you know what I mean? To me and pro wrestling,
- 23:42Speaker 5: like there's not like a legit reason to do it.
- 23:45Speaker 5: It's like why are you doing it? You know what
- 23:47Speaker 5: I mean? So for me, it was also going to
- 23:53Speaker 5: be it's people that's worked for real shoot, but it's
- 23:55Speaker 5: also people that they've put an impact not on just wrestling,
- 24:01Speaker 5: but like West Virginia Wrestling. To me, Danny Ray gave
- 24:06Speaker 5: me my first booking out of this area, like hearts
- 24:12Speaker 5: West Virginia, so to that will forever be grateful. And
- 24:18Speaker 5: then the amount of people that he's touched in the
- 24:22Speaker 5: sense of helps train the people. The person that he's
- 24:27Speaker 5: trained has trained people, like his name is on a
- 24:31Speaker 5: lot of people in West Virginia, a lot of people
- 24:34Speaker 5: in West Virginia, and not even that, it's the quality
- 24:38Speaker 5: of people in West Virginia to the Chance Profit. And
- 24:42Speaker 5: then Chance Profit, there's also all the people the Chance
- 24:46Speaker 5: has trained, and then there's you know, he's worked with
- 24:49Speaker 5: the likes of TJ. Phillips and Jason Kincaid and you know,
- 24:54Speaker 5: like he's the reason order for why I met Riggy
- 24:56Speaker 5: Morton for the first time. So like, you know, in
- 24:58Speaker 5: that sense, I'll forever be grateful to him, and he's
- 25:02Speaker 5: worked for us before. So I figured, you know, if
- 25:05Speaker 5: it's there, if this was to have any credibility, uh,
- 25:09Speaker 5: you know, he would be a definitely somebody that should
- 25:12Speaker 5: be in it. And I have the utmost respect for him,
- 25:16Speaker 5: So I couldn't see anybody else going in in that sense.
- 25:22Speaker 5: And then Urban Death Squad I wanted to put a
- 25:28Speaker 5: tag team in but h and they've and they've worked
- 25:32Speaker 5: for us and we're our tag team champions. But uh,
- 25:37Speaker 5: I got to work with and know Johnny Blast a
- 25:41Speaker 5: whole lot more than I did Spider Crowley. But I
- 25:44Speaker 5: also know that if you're talking tag team wrestling in
- 25:48Speaker 5: West Virginia, you can't not bring up Urban Deak Squad.
- 25:52Speaker 5: So definitely had a good fit there. But seeing like
- 25:58Speaker 5: in singles action, Johnny Blast was actually our first champion
- 26:03Speaker 5: for real shoot wrestling. He won it in a tournament.
- 26:07Speaker 5: So him being our first champion and him being a
- 26:11Speaker 5: tag champion for us and him and for him working
- 26:14Speaker 5: for us as long as he did, and him being
- 26:17Speaker 5: retired now, I figured there was no better tag team
- 26:22Speaker 5: are also individual that would fit into our Hall of
- 26:26Speaker 5: Fame than our very first champion and tag Kam champion,
- 26:32Speaker 5: Johnny Blast and Spider Crowley.
- 26:34Speaker 2: So this was a legitimate tournament and not like a
- 26:37Speaker 2: tournament that happened down in Rio.
- 26:41Speaker 5: Oh yeah, tournament, Uh it was. It was a holiday
- 26:47Speaker 5: Grand Prix. It was our first show first year. The
- 26:55Speaker 5: first three or four shows we did, we did without
- 26:58Speaker 5: like a champion. We just used some belts from other
- 27:00Speaker 5: companies and got their champion some exposure, and then we decided, hey,
- 27:06Speaker 5: we're gonna keep doing this, so it's time to get
- 27:11Speaker 5: some belts. So in January we did a tournament for
- 27:16Speaker 5: our main belt, we did a ladder match for our
- 27:19Speaker 5: mid card belt, and then we did a tag tournament
- 27:23Speaker 5: in February for our tag belts.
- 27:26Speaker 4: All right, this Saturday, June twenty first RSW Grand Slam,
- 27:31Speaker 4: we'll be at the Gomart Ballpark in Charleston.
- 27:33Speaker 1: Bell time as seven o'clock.
- 27:34Speaker 4: Front row is twenty five dollars, while general admission it's
- 27:37Speaker 4: fifteen dollars. You can get your tickets at the box
- 27:40Speaker 4: office at the ballpark or online at Dirty Birdsbaseball dot com.
- 27:45Speaker 1: That was book booker and owner Tim Crossed.
- 27:47Speaker 4: Tim, thank you so much for coming on to the show.
- 27:50Speaker 5: Thanks you for having me. I really appreciate all the
- 27:52Speaker 5: work you guys do. It helps us out a lot,
- 27:55Speaker 5: and it doesn't go unnoticed from me. I can't speak
- 27:59Speaker 5: for everybody, but I noticed all the work you do,
- 28:03Speaker 5: and I think.
- 28:03Speaker 4: You and now let's shift gears to one. This day
- 28:07Speaker 4: in wrestling history. June fifteenth, nineteen ninety eight, Monday Night
- 28:22Speaker 4: Raw was held in San Antonio, Texas. In the main
- 28:26Speaker 4: event of the show, Steve Austin and The Undertaker fought
- 28:29Speaker 4: to a no contest against Cain and Mankind in the
- 28:33Speaker 4: first ever tag team Hell in a Sale match. June fifteenth,
- 28:39Speaker 4: two thousand and four, on a taping of WWE SmackDown
- 28:42Speaker 4: in Chicago, Illinois, the Dudley Boys, Bubbare and Devon defeated
- 28:46Speaker 4: Charlie Haas and Rico to become the WWE SmackDown Tag
- 28:50Speaker 4: Team Champions. Later on the same show, Ray Mysterio defeated
- 28:54Speaker 4: Chava Guerrero.
- 28:55Speaker 1: Senior, not Junior, but Senior classic yes, Chavo class to.
- 29:00Speaker 4: Win the WWE Cruiserweight Championship. And finally, June fifteenth, twenty sixteen,
- 29:07Speaker 4: the taping of the TNA Impact Final Deletion Match between
- 29:13Speaker 4: Matt Hardy and Jeff Hardy took place at the Hardy
- 29:16Speaker 4: Compound in Cameron, North Carolina, with the match airing on
- 29:20Speaker 4: July fifth. That was pretty much the start of the
- 29:26Speaker 4: cinematic cinematic match.
- 29:27Speaker 7: It wasn't the like first ever, but it basically helped
- 29:32Speaker 7: influence pandemic stuff.
- 29:33Speaker 4: It did, which is it's kind of crazy to think
- 29:36Speaker 4: about that that is four years removed from the pandemic. Yeah,
- 29:40Speaker 4: because when the pandemic came around, that's kind of yeah,
- 29:42Speaker 4: that was the inspiration everybody went with, was the final deletion.
- 29:45Speaker 4: And yeah. So anyway, we are going to take a
- 29:48Speaker 4: quick break and when we come back, we're going to
- 29:50Speaker 4: talk some wrestling news and a couple other things.
- 29:54Speaker 3: Stay tenner, It's time for the grill Out. Here's Hollywood's
- 30:09Speaker 3: death pat.
- 30:13Speaker 4: Welcome back, ladies and gentlemen to the Grill Outs. I'm
- 30:15Speaker 4: your host, Hollywood, Jeff Petty, and we've had a tag, Yeah,
- 30:22Speaker 4: Jason tag Josh and our current reigning and defending Grill
- 30:25Speaker 4: Predictions Champion. Yes he is. He is our current reigning
- 30:30Speaker 4: indefending Grill Out Predictions Champion. Many times are seven seven
- 30:37Speaker 4: seven times lucky seven. Yeah, it's listen.
- 30:40Speaker 1: At least you can get a defense in.
- 30:42Speaker 7: That's right.
- 30:43Speaker 4: I can't save my life. Yeah. N w A has
- 30:48Speaker 4: finally announced where they're weekly programming. Power will beginning Tuesday,
- 30:55Speaker 4: July twenty ninth, the National Wrestling Alliance Weeklies program Power.
- 31:00Speaker 4: We'll begin streaming on for free on the Roku channel
- 31:03Speaker 4: at eight pm Eastern time in the United States. Canada
- 31:06Speaker 4: and Mexico, putting it head to head against WWE's NXT,
- 31:10Speaker 4: which airs in the US on the CW Good look, Yeah.
- 31:15Speaker 1: I mean it's I didn't. I don't know where Power.
- 31:19Speaker 4: Could have landed. Yeah, I like, yeah, I really don't
- 31:23Speaker 4: know where. I don't.
- 31:24Speaker 7: I don't see them on like an actual TV channel.
- 31:26Speaker 7: New offense to them, but.
- 31:28Speaker 4: No, I mean, like there's a I've okay, I'm a
- 31:31Speaker 4: poor person. I have Roku TV. There is actual channels
- 31:36Speaker 4: when they're like Comedy Central, Okay, like there's Yeah, there's
- 31:40Speaker 4: actually a channel on Roku TV for anybody that is
- 31:43Speaker 4: interested that is dedicated exclusively to TNA.
- 31:47Speaker 7: Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 31:48Speaker 4: Yeah, I think it was. I think they I don't
- 31:50Speaker 4: know what they call it now. They probably call it
- 31:52Speaker 4: the TNA Channel because it was the Impact Channel. But yeah,
- 31:56Speaker 4: they play a lot of like old TNA matches, like
- 31:59Speaker 4: old NWATNA, some Impact stuff, some current stuff. They're just
- 32:04Speaker 4: kind of all over the place with that. There also
- 32:07Speaker 4: used to be a channel was called the Pro Wrestling Channel,
- 32:10Speaker 4: but it's not on there anymore. Yeah, but Power is
- 32:14Speaker 4: going to go back on to Roku. Yeah, so that
- 32:17Speaker 4: means they're gonna there will be two destinations on Roku
- 32:20Speaker 4: for professional wrestling. Also one thing that we did not
- 32:24Speaker 4: get a chance to talk about last week WWE King
- 32:27Speaker 4: and Queen of the Rings back this past week on
- 32:31Speaker 4: Raw and SmackDown, the King and Queen of the Ring
- 32:33Speaker 4: tournaments began with the first round matches for each consisting
- 32:37Speaker 4: of four Fatal four way matches. The winners of those
- 32:42Speaker 4: will face off in the semi finals and then the
- 32:44Speaker 4: finals will be at Night of Champions on June twenty eighth.
- 32:47Speaker 4: Like last year, the winners will receive a World Championship
- 32:51Speaker 4: match for their respective brands at SummerSlam. Thus far, Sammy's
- 32:56Speaker 4: A and Randy Ort and Cody Rhoads have advanced to
- 32:58Speaker 4: the semi finals for the King of the Ring, while
- 33:01Speaker 4: Roxanne Perez, Jade Cargill and Alexa Bliss have advanced in
- 33:05Speaker 4: the Queen of the Ring. The remaining two first round
- 33:08Speaker 4: matches will take place on this week's row. The men's
- 33:10Speaker 4: Fatal four way will be between Bronson Reed, russev Seamus
- 33:15Speaker 4: and Jay Usso, while the women's will be between Ivy Now,
- 33:19Speaker 4: Roquel Rodriguez, Stephanie Vaiker and a returning Oscar. All four
- 33:24Speaker 4: semi final matches will then take place on this week's SmackDown,
- 33:28Speaker 4: with Sammy Zin facing Randy Orton, while Roxane Perez will
- 33:31Speaker 4: face Jade Cargill, with Cody Rhoads and Alexa Bliss facing
- 33:35Speaker 4: the respective winners from the Fatal four Ways on Role.
- 33:41Speaker 7: So I don't mind how they did this tournament. What
- 33:43Speaker 7: I think they should have done better is had a
- 33:45Speaker 7: raw bracket and a SmackDown bracket, because how this is
- 33:48Speaker 7: set up this year, there could be two Raw finalists
- 33:51Speaker 7: facing each other. Mm, so eh, yeah, I get that.
- 33:56Speaker 7: I feel like the final should definitively be a role
- 33:58Speaker 7: versus SmackDown.
- 33:59Speaker 4: Yeah. But also they've really correct me if I'm wrong.
- 34:03Speaker 4: They have not been very hard line with the with
- 34:07Speaker 4: the different brands, have they.
- 34:10Speaker 7: It's been a bit loose. Now where John Cena is.
- 34:12Speaker 7: You know John cen He's popping open bo shows every
- 34:15Speaker 7: now and then. Yeah, But for the most part, unless
- 34:19Speaker 7: it's like a main event guy, they for the most
- 34:21Speaker 7: part keep it suding.
- 34:22Speaker 4: Pretty firm on who's on who on who is on
- 34:24Speaker 4: whose show?
- 34:25Speaker 7: Yeah, but like last year's King Queen of the Ring,
- 34:27Speaker 7: they actually did do smack raw brackets smacking brackets who
- 34:30Speaker 7: the final was ravers a SmackDown. Yeah, but like this,
- 34:32Speaker 7: it's like, Okay, if we get to the final and
- 34:34Speaker 7: it's two raw guys, we know we're guaranteed seeing a
- 34:36Speaker 7: World Heavyweight Championship match summers with that.
- 34:39Speaker 1: Yeah, it's it.
- 34:40Speaker 4: It then becomes two telegraphed Yeah.
- 34:44Speaker 1: So no, I get that.
- 34:45Speaker 4: That's kind of like when they will not exactly like,
- 34:48Speaker 4: but it gives the same vibe of when uh New
- 34:53Speaker 4: Japan's G One tournament went from two brackets to four
- 34:57Speaker 4: brackets for really no good reas other than we want
- 35:02Speaker 4: to do that. I'm sure there was a good reason
- 35:04Speaker 4: behind it, but I don't have that answer. Yeah, but yeah,
- 35:07Speaker 4: that's kind of the vibe I get from that.
- 35:10Speaker 7: The only thing I can think of is maybe he
- 35:13Speaker 7: trips purposely set it up that way. That way he
- 35:15Speaker 7: can open up the other championship match for another story.
- 35:18Speaker 4: But I don't know, maybe, or I don't know, maybe
- 35:22Speaker 4: maybe it has something to do with John Cena. Yeah,
- 35:25Speaker 4: speaking of John Cena, Wabboo Doo on this past week's
- 35:30Speaker 4: episode of ww WEE Raw Seeing Punk confronted John Cena
- 35:34Speaker 4: and challenged him to a match for the undisputed WWE Championship.
- 35:38Speaker 4: Sina accepted, but only if the match happened at Night
- 35:41Speaker 4: of champions in Saudi Arabia, a country for which Punk
- 35:45Speaker 4: has been very critical of in the past. Punk agreed
- 35:49Speaker 4: and the match was made official. I cannot say exactly
- 35:52Speaker 4: what Punk said about Saudi Arabia on the air. Yeah,
- 35:56Speaker 4: for a variety of reasons. Yeah, but let's just say
- 36:00Speaker 4: that in the past he has been rather vocal against
- 36:03Speaker 4: WWE doing shows in Saudi Arabia. Yeah, so much so
- 36:07Speaker 4: that he has tweeted at certain superstars who have wrestled
- 36:11Speaker 4: in Saudi Arabia.
- 36:14Speaker 7: And john has trolled them.
- 36:15Speaker 4: Yes, Johnson is trolling them right now.
- 36:17Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 36:17Speaker 1: There was on SmackDown this past Friday night.
- 36:20Speaker 4: He was basically talking about how Johnson was talking about
- 36:23Speaker 4: how he had to use quote like punk sociopathic tendencies
- 36:29Speaker 4: or something against himself to prove to people that he's
- 36:32Speaker 4: a hypocrite. Yeah, and then like it but didn't like
- 36:36Speaker 4: you get to the point, it's like, are you guys
- 36:38Speaker 4: saying that the Saudi shows are bad and that there's
- 36:42Speaker 4: that there's something morally wrong with some of them? Yeah,
- 36:46Speaker 4: you know, like, where are you going with this, Like,
- 36:49Speaker 4: come on, guys, I mean, I don't. I don't. I'm
- 36:54Speaker 4: not a huge I've never been a huge fan of
- 36:56Speaker 4: the Saudi shows.
- 36:57Speaker 7: Yeah, I will say they're not as bad as like
- 37:00Speaker 7: the first couple, because they actually do mean something now
- 37:03Speaker 7: compared to the original ones.
- 37:04Speaker 4: But still, yeah, I mean there's also but there's also
- 37:08Speaker 4: the underlying thing with them.
- 37:10Speaker 7: But I get that's more so the country than the
- 37:12Speaker 7: show itself.
- 37:13Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, exactly like the shows themselves. Yes, you're right,
- 37:16Speaker 1: the shows themselves have been they have.
- 37:19Speaker 4: Improved, Yeah, because at first it was basically just like
- 37:22Speaker 4: a glorified house show, yeah is all it was, with
- 37:25Speaker 4: the greatest royal rumble and whatnot. And then as the
- 37:29Speaker 4: years went on, they've they have gotten it to where
- 37:32Speaker 4: they actually mean something, and now they this is what
- 37:34Speaker 4: is this the second year they've had might have champions
- 37:37Speaker 4: in Saudi Yeah.
- 37:38Speaker 7: The first one was in twenty three.
- 37:40Speaker 4: Okay, all right, so I thought it. This was the
- 37:42Speaker 4: second one.
- 37:43Speaker 7: So interestingly, the King and Queen the Ring tournaments have
- 37:46Speaker 7: all been in Saudi Arabia past three, including this one.
- 37:49Speaker 4: Okay, so like that all the finals have been in
- 37:52Speaker 4: Saudi Arabia.
- 37:54Speaker 7: That's interesting speaking of that, like kind of going on
- 37:57Speaker 7: the whole Saudi thing. They have improved with the women
- 38:00Speaker 7: because originally they were just like in T shirts and
- 38:02Speaker 7: a black bodysuit. But now they have like a bodysuit
- 38:04Speaker 7: that actually looks like ring gear.
- 38:06Speaker 4: Yeah yeah, instead of going out looking like uh, they
- 38:10Speaker 4: just have like a you know, the the green like
- 38:14Speaker 4: people use it for like green screen and stuff. Oh yeah,
- 38:16Speaker 4: the body.
- 38:17Speaker 1: Yeah, the bodysuits with like.
- 38:18Speaker 4: The green screen and all that. That's kind of what
- 38:20Speaker 4: it looked like. Yeah. Yeah, now they have improved a
- 38:23Speaker 4: little bit on that. Yeah. But uh but yeah, and
- 38:27Speaker 4: also like they yeah, they have like gradually gotten better
- 38:33Speaker 4: content wise, because I mean those first couple were, yeah,
- 38:37Speaker 4: we're a little on the rough side. I remember when
- 38:39Speaker 4: they first started and I was like, okay, don't I
- 38:41Speaker 4: don't know how I feel about this. Yeah I did
- 38:44Speaker 4: watch the first couple begrudgingly, but yeah I did. I
- 38:49Speaker 4: was like, and it's whatever had Acy Bono on there.
- 38:55Speaker 4: So yeah. But also like speaking of John Sena who
- 39:01Speaker 4: was attacked by Ron Killings.
- 39:03Speaker 7: Yeah, they're gonna face on smack Down this week.
- 39:05Speaker 4: They are Yeah, okay, crazy crazy idea? What if?
- 39:11Speaker 1: What if?
- 39:14Speaker 4: John Cena drops de Belot, the Truth Book oft Trips,
- 39:17Speaker 4: do it you cower?
- 39:19Speaker 1: We want truth?
- 39:21Speaker 7: Well this one on smack On is a non title match.
- 39:23Speaker 4: Well maybe later, yeah, I know. That was one of
- 39:27Speaker 4: the crazy ideas that was being thrown around, was like,
- 39:30Speaker 4: you know what, we don't want a John Cena Hill
- 39:33Speaker 4: turn anymore. We don't want the John Cena championship run.
- 39:36Speaker 4: We want a Ron Killings championship run. It would make
- 39:38Speaker 4: him a Grand Slam, it would Okay, he's a former
- 39:41Speaker 4: world champion anyway, Yeah, why not make him a three
- 39:44Speaker 4: time world champion? Yeah? Yeah, like, come on, Trips, what
- 39:49Speaker 4: are you?
- 39:49Speaker 7: What are you doing twenty four, seven, seven, eleven, thirteen, fourteen,
- 39:54Speaker 7: European Interstate whatever.
- 39:57Speaker 4: Fifty four times twenty four having champion? Yeah, Ron Killings
- 40:03Speaker 4: cut his hair as well. Yeah that it did.
- 40:08Speaker 1: Okay, I'm not gonna lie.
- 40:09Speaker 4: It did age him a little bit, but he did.
- 40:11Speaker 4: And I sent you in, Uh, Jason, I think they.
- 40:15Speaker 4: I think it was on Busted Open Radio where he
- 40:18Speaker 4: he cut like a promo on I can't remember who
- 40:21Speaker 4: it was on. Me cut a promo on somebody and
- 40:22Speaker 4: it's like it's definitely not PG. We can't play it here.
- 40:27Speaker 4: But Ron Killings A lot of people write him off
- 40:30Speaker 4: as a comedy act because of his our Truth gimmick.
- 40:35Speaker 4: But let's be honest, Ron Killings can kill it on
- 40:38Speaker 4: the mic when he wants to. Yeah, and two and
- 40:42Speaker 4: and and I did put this up on Facebook about him,
- 40:45Speaker 4: the range that people don't realize that he has. Are
- 40:49Speaker 4: going to be surprised by this, and I think they.
- 40:51Speaker 4: I think it's already showing how surprised some of them
- 40:53Speaker 4: are by him because most of them know him as
- 40:56Speaker 4: our Truth, the goofy guy who says goofy, funny thing
- 41:00Speaker 4: and everything, which is one thing. But go back and
- 41:03Speaker 4: listen to some of those old TNA promos that he did.
- 41:07Speaker 4: They were top, top tier. Just cinema Wow.
- 41:14Speaker 1: Speaking of cinema.
- 41:16Speaker 4: New Netflix series Tuesday Night Titans now nightime.
- 41:21Speaker 5: Now.
- 41:21Speaker 1: We don't have a definitive date.
- 41:23Speaker 4: For this, so we don't have a confirmed date for
- 41:25Speaker 4: the show, but it will be called Tuesday Night Titans.
- 41:28Speaker 4: According to Deadline dot Com, which has a synopsis that
- 41:31Speaker 4: goes as follows quote. Set in the spectacle driven world
- 41:35Speaker 4: of professional wrestling, Tuesday Night Titans follows a tenacious writer
- 41:40Speaker 4: who risked his career in the big leagues to recruit
- 41:43Speaker 4: her a strange childhood best friend, a jabber wrestler on
- 41:47Speaker 4: the indies, to join the same behemoth company that they
- 41:51Speaker 4: idolized in their youth. Their destinies become entangled as they
- 41:55Speaker 4: battle personal demons, ruthless colleagues, and their complicated history in
- 42:00Speaker 4: an industry where k fabe wrestling staged reality isn't confined
- 42:04Speaker 4: to the ring, but bleeds into every aspect of their lives.
- 42:08Speaker 4: End quote. Of course, the name Tuesday Night Titans was
- 42:11Speaker 4: a weekly television show for the WWF at the time
- 42:15Speaker 4: during the eighties, so it was it was like their
- 42:18Speaker 4: weekly television show. Pretty much.
- 42:22Speaker 1: That sounds that sounds really interesting.
- 42:27Speaker 4: Yeah, like to take it from the aspect, and now,
- 42:29Speaker 4: obviously I believe that the way that this synopsis goes,
- 42:34Speaker 4: this is going to be a company that sort of
- 42:36Speaker 4: it sounds very wwees. They're probably not going to say
- 42:40Speaker 4: that is WWE. But she's a writer, she's you know,
- 42:45Speaker 4: they're going to this behemoth company that they idolized as children.
- 42:49Speaker 4: What behemoths wrestling company is they're outside of that's not WWE.
- 42:53Speaker 4: That doesn't involve like writers and stuff like.
- 42:56Speaker 1: That I think.
- 43:00Speaker 4: I don't know. I don't know anything else past this.
- 43:04Speaker 4: I know one of the producers.
- 43:06Speaker 1: Though I don't know.
- 43:07Speaker 4: I don't have his name wrote down. One of the
- 43:09Speaker 4: producers is a former writer for Monday Night Raw. So
- 43:14Speaker 4: there is already that connection back to WWE. Plus, WWE
- 43:18Speaker 4: already has the working relationship with Netflix. I'm sure they
- 43:22Speaker 4: own the name Tuesday Night Titans, so maybe there was something.
- 43:28Speaker 7: Well, you can use in media, you can use whichever
- 43:31Speaker 7: names as long as it's Yeah, I don't know, because
- 43:34Speaker 7: there's different media has exact same names.
- 43:36Speaker 4: There's true, it's true, but.
- 43:37Speaker 7: There's multiple movies that have like that name or whatever,
- 43:40Speaker 7: but they're different movies.
- 43:41Speaker 4: Yeah, but what I'm saying is like they're they they
- 43:45Speaker 4: may own that. Now there might be some working relationship
- 43:48Speaker 4: where they're like, okay, certainly because I think WWE. I
- 43:52Speaker 4: think Netflix is doing a couple other shows for WWE.
- 43:55Speaker 7: I tell you what they need to do renew heels
- 43:57Speaker 7: for a third season.
- 43:59Speaker 4: I agree.
- 44:00Speaker 7: Yeah, have you watched it?
- 44:01Speaker 4: I have not, do it. It's on Showtime right, No,
- 44:04Speaker 4: it's on Netflix.
- 44:05Speaker 1: Netflix.
- 44:06Speaker 7: Oh see it was on No Stars.
- 44:10Speaker 1: Okay, yeah, that's what it was.
- 44:11Speaker 7: On and then Netflix got it in there. They have
- 44:14Speaker 7: the first two seasons on there. Okay, it got canceled
- 44:16Speaker 7: on Stars, so oh okay, it's like I'm on Netflix.
- 44:19Speaker 7: Read it.
- 44:20Speaker 4: Yeah. When I uh I mentioned this the other day
- 44:24Speaker 4: to someone and they were talking about what was Ivy.
- 44:26Speaker 4: I was mentioning it to Ivy and she was like,
- 44:29Speaker 4: it's crazy how big wrestling is.
- 44:31Speaker 7: Yeah, I mean it is it.
- 44:32Speaker 4: It's Wrestling's all over the place. Professional wrestling is anything
- 44:36Speaker 4: and everything that you want to make it. I mean,
- 44:39Speaker 4: we just had the interview with Tim Crawls in the
- 44:42Speaker 4: previous segment Jason and I did, and he did. He
- 44:45Speaker 4: talked a little bit in there about how like with
- 44:47Speaker 4: Real Shoot Wrestling, they're not just they're not a wrestling company,
- 44:51Speaker 4: They're a wrestling experience. Yea, and that's really what you
- 44:54Speaker 4: get when you go to a wrestling show. Support local wrestling. Yeah,
- 44:58Speaker 4: like for real support it, go for it.
- 45:01Speaker 7: That's right.
- 45:02Speaker 4: Yes. Finally, last name before we get to the main events.
- 45:07Speaker 4: AW Unified Championship. On the special Summer Blockbuster episode of
- 45:12Speaker 4: AW Dynamite this past week, it was revealed that the
- 45:16Speaker 4: winner takes all match between Continental Champion Kazusko Kata and
- 45:20Speaker 4: International champion Kiney Omega at all In on July twelfth,
- 45:24Speaker 4: will in fact be a unification match to unify the
- 45:27Speaker 4: two titles as the AW Unified Championship. According to Fightful,
- 45:31Speaker 4: a tob plans to book this as a top championship
- 45:34Speaker 4: on par with the AW World Championship and not as
- 45:39Speaker 4: a mid card title. Also, despite the Continental Championship being retired,
- 45:44Speaker 4: the Mental Classic will still continue, although it has not
- 45:47Speaker 4: been clarified on what the tournament winner will receive. The
- 45:51Speaker 4: belt design is inspired by both the Continental and International belt,
- 45:55Speaker 4: and it has unique outer side plates. The left one
- 45:58Speaker 4: shows Omega performing the One Winged, while they write one
- 46:01Speaker 4: shows Okada performing the rain Maker. According to The Wrestling Observer,
- 46:06Speaker 4: Tony conplaints to keep the Omega and Okada sideplights to
- 46:09Speaker 4: commemorate the International and Continental titles and the legacy that
- 46:13Speaker 4: Omega and Okada brought to the unification match. All right,
- 46:17Speaker 4: ballot expert, what do you think of it?
- 46:20Speaker 7: Terrible name?
- 46:21Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm not a big fan of the name.
- 46:22Speaker 7: Like you could use the unified in there, but like
- 46:25Speaker 7: what is it?
- 46:28Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 46:28Speaker 7: Because like okay, they did the unification with the tag title.
- 46:31Speaker 7: The trios titles a while back to AW and roh
- 46:33Speaker 7: ones and they actually call it the Unified World Trios Championship,
- 46:36Speaker 7: So okay, you knew what it was. This is just
- 46:38Speaker 7: unified Championship unified.
- 46:40Speaker 4: Of what that's true?
- 46:42Speaker 7: Like if it was for example, you know when MJF
- 46:46Speaker 7: was the world champion and cimpunk there was the real
- 46:49Speaker 7: world champion, I assumed they were going to lead to
- 46:51Speaker 7: unification match there. If they had called that the AW
- 46:54Speaker 7: Unified Championship, that would have been fine. You would have
- 46:56Speaker 7: known what that was. Yeah, but this is like, what
- 47:00Speaker 7: is it that's true? Like, let's say a year or
- 47:02Speaker 7: two from now, they keep this name. How do you
- 47:05Speaker 7: explain that to someone of what exactly this is in
- 47:08Speaker 7: the right rankings that's true?
- 47:11Speaker 1: Which I'm I'm not surprised.
- 47:13Speaker 4: That they did not go with intercontinental even though it
- 47:16Speaker 4: was it was right there.
- 47:17Speaker 7: So I found out apparently WW trademark Intercontinental Championship. Really yeah,
- 47:23Speaker 7: back in twenty twenty, you know, see, I.
- 47:27Speaker 4: Wonder how that plays out internationally.
- 47:30Speaker 7: Well, that may have been why Japan retired THEIRS.
- 47:34Speaker 4: That's what I was getting ready to say, because that's
- 47:35Speaker 4: around the time that they did change they retired their
- 47:39Speaker 4: intercontinental champions.
- 47:41Speaker 7: Yeah, they did the following year.
- 47:43Speaker 4: So yeah, that's when they had no, wait a minute,
- 47:49Speaker 4: hold on, I thought it was twenty twenty.
- 47:52Speaker 7: They might have done the unification match itself in twenty twenty,
- 47:56Speaker 7: but they did the actual retirement of twenty one, okay,
- 48:00Speaker 7: where they actually merged it with the heavyweight to create
- 48:02Speaker 7: the World Heavyweight.
- 48:03Speaker 4: Yeah, okay, yeah, because they because that was around the time.
- 48:07Speaker 1: Omega was leaving.
- 48:11Speaker 4: And he had the belt, dropped the heavyweight title to uh,
- 48:17Speaker 4: he dropped the heavyweight title to tana Hashi Tana hash
- 48:21Speaker 4: She dropped the belt to Nito. Nito's in dropped it
- 48:25Speaker 4: to Codo Aubushi. I think, yeah, I think that's right.
- 48:31Speaker 4: No no, no, no, no, no, no, no, I'm wrong on that.
- 48:34Speaker 4: Uh it was, yeah, I think it was in twenty twenty,
- 48:37Speaker 4: and then when Coda won it in twenty twenty one,
- 48:40Speaker 4: that's when they retired it and came out with the
- 48:42Speaker 4: world title. That's what it was. So yeah, that may
- 48:46Speaker 4: that may play into it. I didn't know that they
- 48:48Speaker 4: they trademarked that.
- 48:49Speaker 7: I didn't know until someone had posted about it. Oh wow,
- 48:52Speaker 7: I saw a random comment, Poppa. They should have called
- 48:54Speaker 7: it the Imperial Championship. That's a really good name. That wow.
- 49:00Speaker 1: That is yeah wow.
- 49:02Speaker 7: Yeah, that would have worked out really well.
- 49:04Speaker 4: I think the Union, like if they still want to
- 49:06Speaker 4: keep the unified name, like maybe call it the Unified
- 49:09Speaker 4: Imperial Championship. Yeah, then after a while just dropped unified.
- 49:13Speaker 4: Just keep it on there for a little bit to
- 49:15Speaker 4: kind of show that they're unified.
- 49:16Speaker 2: They drop it eventually.
- 49:17Speaker 4: Yeah that man, that that sounds like a really good.
- 49:22Speaker 1: You heard it here first, folks.
- 49:24Speaker 7: I don't remember who commented that, but.
- 49:26Speaker 1: Yeah, good on them.
- 49:27Speaker 4: Yeah, good on them. That is a that's a fantastic.
- 49:31Speaker 7: Could have also went continational, have been weird, but yeah whatever.
- 49:34Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, listen, I've heard worse.
- 49:37Speaker 2: Yeah, global.
- 49:41Speaker 4: Call it. I'm sorry, the IAGP Global Championship is It's lame.
- 49:46Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 49:46Speaker 4: They should have never got rid of the US heavyweight title.
- 49:50Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 49:51Speaker 4: If anything, they should have renamed it or something.
- 49:54Speaker 1: I don't know. The belt was beautiful.
- 49:56Speaker 4: It didn't They did not give it time to have
- 49:58Speaker 4: a long lineage and it just Yeah. But also I
- 50:01Speaker 4: still disagree with them getting rid of the heavyweight title. Yeah,
- 50:04Speaker 4: just because of the lineage should have had.
- 50:05Speaker 7: But they should have just renamed it.
- 50:07Speaker 4: They should they should have kept the lineage going. Yeah,
- 50:09Speaker 4: if they wanted to rename it, fine, Now it's a
- 50:12Speaker 4: world title. Now it's considered a world title, but it
- 50:14Speaker 4: keeps the lineage of the heavyweight title. Yeah, because I
- 50:17Speaker 4: mean that's kind of how it was treated anyway. Yeah,
- 50:20Speaker 4: like you know, anyway.
- 50:22Speaker 1: Let's shift gears to the main event.
- 50:25Speaker 2: It looks like all the talking has been done.
- 50:28Speaker 3: It's time for the main event.
- 50:31Speaker 1: Welcome to the main event.
