  SPEAKER_00: Looking forward to hanging with you for just a few minutes this morning.

  SPEAKER_00: But uh want to kind of keep in the vein we were in the last couple of times, and that's this whole idea of um God's able to make all things work together for good to those who love God and are called according to his purpose.

  SPEAKER_00: Meaning um God doesn't make all things, I don't think, and all things aren't necessarily good, but God is able to make them work for good.

  SPEAKER_00: And uh so what I've done with that is played with, and I honestly I do this if you've ever heard me teach or been to me for counseling.

  SPEAKER_00: I do this in every situation.

  SPEAKER_00: I ask you to ask, where uh some of you have been playing this back to me lately, where's the gold buried in this hill?

  SPEAKER_00: In other words, the hill is an opportunity or a challenge or a moment of discomfort.

  SPEAKER_00: And um the question is, there's gold buried in them there, hills.

  SPEAKER_00: In other words, God has something for you always, always.

  SPEAKER_00: You're never going to go through anything that there isn't an opportunity to take advantage of.

  SPEAKER_00: Now, doesn't mean they're all fun, doesn't mean they're all doesn't mean you know, you're like on top of the mountain all the time, but uh it means there's value and purpose and and progress.

  SPEAKER_00: What a word, man, progress buried in there.

  SPEAKER_00: Um, you know, we've been looking at the whole, you know, use it in the context of this COVID-19 uh uniqueness, obviously the the tragedy of uh how it's taxed our systems and and people, and so many families are dealing with uh death and and just disadvantage and finances and all.

  SPEAKER_00: But again, God's able to make all things work together for good.

  SPEAKER_00: Doesn't mean God did it, doesn't mean it's necessarily good that it's happening, but there's good in there.

  SPEAKER_00: So what I want to ask you is playing off what we did last week.

  SPEAKER_00: We were looking in Philippians 3, and uh I asked, I brought up the concept of finding the edge.

  SPEAKER_00: Excuse me, finding your edge.

  SPEAKER_00: What do I mean by your edge?

  SPEAKER_00: I mean, here's here's where I am, here's the territory, if you will, that I have acquired.

  SPEAKER_00: Here's the the the character that I walk in, the the the the sense of God's love, the the the whoa.

  SPEAKER_00: Sorry about that, guys.

  SPEAKER_00: I dropped you.

  SPEAKER_00: The uh you my case here.

  SPEAKER_00: The uh the confidence and competence that we walk in with God.

  SPEAKER_00: I bet that was kind of weird for you.

  SPEAKER_00: Um it was weird for me.

  SPEAKER_00: In other words, what territory have you already claimed and comfortably uh manage?

  SPEAKER_00: And what I'm talking about is find the edge of that and go get more.

  SPEAKER_00: Go, go, go get more of your promised land, as I like to call it, and scripture likes to call it.

  SPEAKER_00: Uh so let's just jump in here.

  SPEAKER_00: Here's what I wrote in the in the description for today.

  SPEAKER_00: Find the edge.

  SPEAKER_00: Where is God inviting you into an adventure of growth and expansion?

  SPEAKER_00: In what area of your life, your heart, your soul, your relationships, is God saying, Chipper, and obviously your name, not mine, Chipper, I've got something really special for you, but you have to come and get it.

  SPEAKER_00: Where is God saying, I have more blank, whatever for you, but you're you're kind of maturing, you're growing, and you've got to learn how to come get it.

  SPEAKER_00: You've got to learn how to want it and take steps, small ones usually, to put yourself in a position to move toward it, apprehend it, and make it a working part of your life.

  SPEAKER_00: And guys, think about what I just said.

  SPEAKER_00: You gotta want it.

  SPEAKER_00: You gotta probably make some small adjustments.

  SPEAKER_00: You gotta say yes to some things you haven't been saying yes to, you've got to say no to some things you haven't been saying no to, to move toward it, apprehend it, and make it a working part of your life.

  SPEAKER_00: That's what growth is, man.

  SPEAKER_00: So God's gift to us is the opportunity to grow.

  SPEAKER_00: And uh this came out of a book I read years ago.

  SPEAKER_00: Uh oh gosh, I can't remember his name, but the one about the lion in the snow, uh, whatever.

  SPEAKER_00: Some of you know what I mean.

  SPEAKER_00: So God's gift to us is opportunity, and our response is what we do with that opportunity.

  SPEAKER_00: Do we ignore it, pursue it, or whatever?

  SPEAKER_00: Now, never do I want to incite uh shame, condemnation, more reasons for us to feel bad about ourselves.

  SPEAKER_00: But uh, and that's kind of why I want to go where I want to go this morning.

  SPEAKER_00: So we read last week from Philippians 3, not that I've already obtained it or have already become perfect.

  SPEAKER_00: I love this section of scripture because there's so much cool stuff here.

  SPEAKER_00: In other words, he's acknowledging I I haven't gotten a hold of it all yet, and I'm not full, I'm not complete, I'm finished, I'm not finished, I'm not, I haven't accomplished and and and reached my full potential, but I press on so that we talked about that last week, so that I may blank.

  SPEAKER_00: You need to have a so that.

  SPEAKER_00: Uh I, you know, I I want to know God.

  SPEAKER_00: I want to I want to be loved by God, I want to love God, and I want his love to flow through me to other people.

  SPEAKER_00: And uh I want to see Jesus, I want to see Jesus represented well in the earth.

  SPEAKER_00: And um and that makes me do different things, it makes me manage my life differently, it makes me use my marriage differently, it makes me, and just so that didn't sound weird, uh, to see all the opportunities my marriage has given me to grow.

  SPEAKER_00: And um so he goes on to say, so that I may lay hold of that for which also I was laid hold of by Christ Jesus.

  SPEAKER_00: Brethren, people, sisters, I don't regard myself as laying hold of it all yet, but one thing I do.

  SPEAKER_00: One thing I do, one thing I do.

  SPEAKER_00: Here's the thing, guys.

  SPEAKER_00: Pick one.

  SPEAKER_00: Just pick one.

  SPEAKER_00: What do you mean?

  SPEAKER_00: I'm talking to you about finding a growth opportunity in the midst of this challenge.

  SPEAKER_00: Don't find ten.

  SPEAKER_00: Don't don't make a list of 15 things you need to change.

  SPEAKER_00: Don't, you know, don't get with five friends and ask them each to give you 10 things you need to work on.

  SPEAKER_00: Find one.

  SPEAKER_00: Now, it doesn't mean you can't have a couple more sub-projects, but find one that you say to yourself, I'm gonna marshal my attention, my focus, my prayer, my just simply being with God on asking the simple question, God, what are you trying to say to me?

  SPEAKER_00: What are you doing to me in this one area, and how can I make the most progress in this area at this time?

  SPEAKER_00: So I want to give you a suggestion.

  SPEAKER_00: And this kind of undercuts what I said a minute ago.

  SPEAKER_00: A lot of times when we start thinking about what we need to work on in our life, it opens the door for um not conviction, which is uh a strong commitment to the rightness of something, but condemnation.

  SPEAKER_00: In other words, all we see is what's wrong and how how dumb we are, and how could you get in this situation, and why are you why have you been here so long?

  SPEAKER_00: And if you weren't such a loser, you'd be past this by now.

  SPEAKER_00: The best way I do it to undercut that is start with what I would consider to be the one thing every one of us should get straight, settled, foundationally established before anything else.

  SPEAKER_00: And I'm gonna read it from Ephesians 3, 1 through 14, or 14 through 19.

  SPEAKER_00: For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name, that he would grant to you.

  SPEAKER_00: I want him, I'm praying this for you as I read this.

  SPEAKER_00: I'm praying this for you, that he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with power through his spirit in your inner man.

  SPEAKER_00: Here's what I want you to think about.

  SPEAKER_00: What growth opportunities hidden in this for me?

  SPEAKER_00: Start on the inside, not the outside.

  SPEAKER_00: Oh, I could expand my business.

  SPEAKER_00: I can, you know what?

  SPEAKER_00: That's that's great, but don't start there.

  SPEAKER_00: Don't start there.

  SPEAKER_00: God, what internal adjustment would you love to make that would help place me, position me, prepare me, posture me for the fullness of life you want for me?

  SPEAKER_00: So let me read on because it gets to what I really want to get to.

  SPEAKER_00: So that Christ may dwell in your hearts.

  SPEAKER_00: Remember, I'm praying for you.

  SPEAKER_00: So that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith, and that you being rooted and grounded in love.

  SPEAKER_00: Rooted and grounded in love.

  SPEAKER_00: Wow.

  SPEAKER_00: Rooted is nourishment, grounded is stability.

  SPEAKER_00: Rooted is nourishment.

  SPEAKER_00: It is stability also, but rooted and grounded.

  SPEAKER_00: Why did he use those two words?

  SPEAKER_00: Rooted means you you like here's what I want you to learn to do.

  SPEAKER_00: I want you to learn to be loved first.

  SPEAKER_00: Be loved first.

  SPEAKER_00: Oh, well, I need to work on this and this, and I'm such a disappointment here.

  SPEAKER_00: Stop.

  SPEAKER_00: Stop.

  SPEAKER_00: God loves you right now, just the way you are.

  SPEAKER_00: I promise you, he does.

  SPEAKER_00: And from there, you're rooted.

  SPEAKER_00: What does that mean?

  SPEAKER_00: You have roots that are going down deeper into the soil of his love, drawing the nutrients you need to then go face the challenges of life.

  SPEAKER_00: That you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend.

  SPEAKER_00: Here's the deal, guys.

  SPEAKER_00: It's incomprehensible without God's revelatory help that you may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the breath length, height, and depth, and to know the love of Christ, which surpasses knowledge.

  SPEAKER_00: I want you to get zapped, soaked, splashed, dunked, dipped in the in the in the love of God to the place that it it blows your circuits.

  SPEAKER_00: It surpasses your capacity to put it into words.

  SPEAKER_00: To know the love of Christ, which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled up to all the fullness of God.

  SPEAKER_00: Now, for time's sake, we can't get into it far, but I'm gonna say this to you.

  SPEAKER_00: I want to I want to talk to you next week about how you could start doing that and stay in this theme we're on.

  SPEAKER_00: But here's the thing, guys, find the edge and learning to what I call R, receive and rest in the Father's love, not a bad place to start.

  SPEAKER_00: This one thing I do.

  SPEAKER_00: Let me just give you one hint.

  SPEAKER_00: What if every day, first thing you do is sit somewhere, don't even open your Bible yet, get your coffee, you gotta have your coffee, and and just say, God, I want to learn how to let your love come.

  SPEAKER_00: I want to learn how to let it in.

  SPEAKER_00: I want to learn how to receive it, believe it, trust it, enjoy it.

  SPEAKER_00: And then throughout the day, you revisit that moment.

  SPEAKER_00: So we'll talk more about it, but let's find our edge and uh let's use this for the advancement of God's work in our life and his kingdom in the earth.
