- 0:00Hello. Welcome to he's hot but
- 0:01something's off with me, just Joey T if you are watching the
- 0:05video podcast which is available on Spotify and my YouTube
- 0:09channel just Joey tea. You notice for in very different
- 0:12surroundings actually have that mint green wall behind me was
- 0:16actually a wall that I painted about a year ago.
- 0:19I don't want to feature wall for this one bedroom but today we
- 0:23are coming to you, not live but we're coming to you from a hotel
- 0:28room in New New York City, actually correction.
- 0:32I'm not in New York City technically in Queens.
- 0:36So I'm here for New York City Pride, which is just a few days
- 0:43from now from when I'm recording this and I decided to pick a
- 0:48hotel, not in Manhattan for money reasons, so I'm still on
- 0:54my career break. So I'm really watching the
- 0:56pennies and the dollars quite Leave.
- 1:01I have a lot of credit cards to give me a lot of points SOI
- 1:04decided we should use as many of the points as possible for as
- 1:09many of the trips that I want to take one on this career break
- 1:12kind of make sense. But I've got all these Hotel
- 1:14points, Airline points credit card Point sitting there, I
- 1:17don't usually use them that much for very complicated Reasons.
- 1:20I'm not going to go into today but this year I've been burning
- 1:24a lot of those points. So went onto the website, I you
- 1:29stay With the Marriott chain of hotels because that's where all
- 1:32my hotel points are went on their website.
- 1:35Look for hotels are available around this time for NYC pride
- 1:41and obviously stuff that's in Manhattan.
- 1:45Proper is pretty expensive. So I was looking in a wider area
- 1:50and I know that just across whatever that bit of water, that
- 1:55separates Manhattan from Queens. I really don't know the
- 1:58geography of the area. Yep, but it's just basically one
- 2:05or two train rides on one of the lines between RAM and queens and
- 2:11Manhattan. So it seemed like, oh, it's not
- 2:14technically in Manhattan tickling Queens but this hotel
- 2:17that I'm staying in now that I booked seemed pretty close.
- 2:20So I was like and it's way cheaper.
- 2:22It was like half the amount of points that was needed.
- 2:25If I were to stay in like Chelsea or Hell's Kitchen, which
- 2:29is the error that I usually stay in when I used to visit New York
- 2:32before but those are all work trips or work pay for those.
- 2:34So it was like all good. So I was like why not?
- 2:38I think a really useful thing we have available today is Google
- 2:42Street View so you can check out what a neighborhood looks like
- 2:46just you know in the light of day so I got to New York at
- 2:51night and just copped in a boober from LaGuardia Airport.
- 2:57I was only 20 minute ride And I wasn't really paying attention
- 3:02to like, what area I was in. I was just on my phone, the
- 3:04entire time car arrived. Drop me off.
- 3:07I was outside the hotel. I just like, walk didn't.
- 3:09I didn't really notice the next morning I was going to head out
- 3:16and I was going to go into the city to get food, pick up some
- 3:21toiletries or whatever because I did notice that in the area
- 3:25where this hotel is. There's not really anything
- 3:28around here. It's Not.
- 3:30There's not like a CVS, there's no Walgreens, there's not a
- 3:34supermarket. There's not really stuff around
- 3:37here, which I was like, whatever.
- 3:39I didn't really think that much about it.
- 3:41The next morning in broad daylight, I walked out of this
- 3:43hotel, I took like two steps onto the sidewalk and I was like
- 3:49this is not like a great neighborhood so signs that
- 3:52you're not staying in a great neighborhood, your hotel is not
- 3:54a great neighborhood. Is when their cars that are
- 3:57clearly Out Of Reach. Hair just parked on the side of
- 4:02the road. There's just one hatchback, this
- 4:04white hatchback, that was propped up on a jack, on a side
- 4:10of this row, like literally right outside the hotel and its
- 4:14got like both the front wheels, missing and hooded open the
- 4:19first time I saw that, which was like the first morning I left
- 4:22the hotel. I thought, oh, they broke down.
- 4:27In some catastrophic way, they blew their tires and their
- 4:30engine is shot or something. That car is still there, the
- 4:34Hood is still up and both front tires are still like off of the
- 4:38car. And I've been here for, I don't
- 4:42know, 48 hours now, I've walked past that car like five times
- 4:46six times and 48 hours and it's still there and it's not doing
- 4:50anything and near where that car is are other cars.
- 4:56That are very, very dusty and you can kind of tell some bits
- 5:00are falling off of those cars. So, that's your first sign that,
- 5:05you know, tell is not in a great neighborhood.
- 5:08The other thing I noticed is their kids, I hear kids playing
- 5:13on the street until like 10:00 p.m. and I was going to record
- 5:18this during the day, because it's nice to record a video for
- 5:22the video version of the podcast.
- 5:24We recording video in like a random room.
- 5:27It's nice to record in front of a window.
- 5:29You get all the natural light is very flattering, but I'm
- 5:34actually recording this at 11:30 at night because it's so noisy
- 5:39during the day and there's an air conditioning unit in the
- 5:43window, which is great. It's this actually a new hotel.
- 5:46Just why I picked this one. I thought, oh it's not like the
- 5:49most fancy hotel but it's a new hotel.
- 5:52So at least things are like new and modern right, which it is.
- 5:56There's a giant air conditioning unit that's in the window and
- 6:01it's it's probably more a scene in this room ever needs.
- 6:05It cools down very, very quickly, but the thing is sound
- 6:08travels through that window AC unit, that just how they work
- 6:14and I can hear everything on the street.
- 6:16When I'm sleeping, I don't hear anything.
- 6:17Also put in your earplugs, but I'm like, why are kids playing
- 6:20on the street like past dusk? It's like 10.
- 6:26Npm and I hear kids like screaming, yelling, whatever
- 6:29outside. Also during the day, there are
- 6:32like people that are just racing mopeds up and down the adjacent
- 6:37Street for some reason. In a way to, I don't understand.
- 6:44Yeah, so it's not like the nicest neighborhood, and I'm
- 6:50saving money. Like, the hotel was safe.
- 6:51Let me put this, the hotel is saved, is not like dangerous.
- 6:54Once I'm in the hotel, I don't feel like there's anything
- 6:58wrong. I don't necessarily feel my life
- 7:01is in danger when I go to and from the hotel.
- 7:04The other thing is this will tell us very close to the subway
- 7:08line, when the subway lines that it takes you right into the
- 7:12city. Is literally Two stops away and
- 7:14then your arm like Lexington is 63rd Avril wherever it is.
- 7:18So yeah. Anyway, so that was interesting.
- 7:23I'll make sure not to cheap out so much on the whole to, I
- 7:27guess, I guess I got spoiled before because every other time
- 7:29I've been in New York had literally been a work trip.
- 7:32Most of the companies I work with they have some sort of
- 7:35office in Manhattan. So usually when you travel for
- 7:40work they'll say you get a cat How much and expand on the
- 7:44hotel, how much you can spend on the airfare.
- 7:47If you are able to pick your own hotel at all, some companies
- 7:50will just say you have to pick from these hotels.
- 7:52Some other companies. Just let you book whatever as
- 7:53long as it's in the price cap and I've usually staid and like
- 7:57Manhattan Proper, right? It's not been a problem, but
- 8:00yeah, it's nice. I've got a kitchen and actually,
- 8:02famous of the kitchen of my hotel room, which is nice.
- 8:05Got a microwave. I've been buying meals at Whole
- 8:08Foods. One of my favorite things, when
- 8:10I travel to different Other cities at least in the u.s. is
- 8:16being really close to a whole food.
- 8:19Now, do you should stop Whole Foods for groceries at home?
- 8:22Anyways, but Whole Foods, they have a hot bar section which are
- 8:27really, really liked number one. The second thing is they've got
- 8:30some really good microwavable meal options.
- 8:33So that's what I've been eating for like half my meals right
- 8:37now. So tonight for dinner, I just
- 8:40went to the hot bar at one of the Whole Foods in You just get
- 8:44a box you fill with how much stuff you want, and it's a
- 8:47little expensive. You go to the checkout and they
- 8:50way how heavy this boxes like how much food you have in this
- 8:53box? Mine was one point eight pounds.
- 8:57I remember. And it was $24 which is granted
- 9:01not cheap. However, the advantage of that
- 9:04is, it's like a buffet you get to pick exactly what you want to
- 9:07eat. And there's nothing that you
- 9:09don't, and you also don't need to tip, which is awesome.
- 9:11So ahead of doing that. That I knew this room would have
- 9:15a little kitchenette with the microwave, so, and also a
- 9:19fridge. So, the first day I went to
- 9:22City, I went and picked up some of these, like, breaded to heat
- 9:26up Meals from Whole Foods. They're not the ones that are
- 9:29frozen, because a lot of hotels, they don't have freezers, but
- 9:32have like a fridge. So, in like the first section,
- 9:35they've got like Whole Foods branded microwavable meals that
- 9:40you keep in the refrigerator, but it's not frozen.
- 9:42You don't keep in the fridge. And remember when I first moved
- 9:45to LA and I was just living in Airbnb, I still shopping for a
- 9:51condo and I did have move into the place, obviously, because I
- 9:56haven't bought it yet. I rented this little Studio
- 9:59Airbnb in LA, and there was a full kitchen, but in like a
- 10:05short-term rental type of a place like that, I just didn't
- 10:09feel like getting groceries and cooking.
- 10:13Cooking. So for like two months straight,
- 10:16I was basically eating off of Frozen microwavable meals.
- 10:20Are these Whole Foods microwavable meals that I found?
- 10:25You know, when I first moved to LA and I was like, this is
- 10:27actually really delicious. So I went and picked up a bunch
- 10:30of those picked up some cereal, which is, if you're watching the
- 10:34video podcast, if this is Whole Foods, fruit and nut muesli,
- 10:39which is what I usually eat when I'm at home.
- 10:43Actually, and I was like, okay, I'm going to get some of these
- 10:46bizarre eating these. I haven't eaten these app.
- 10:48I want you to have this box, probably before I even check out
- 10:51of the hotel. So, yeah, it's funny when I
- 10:57travel, I think other people do this too.
- 11:01When I'm traveling, especially if I go to a country where they
- 11:04don't speak English, I need the security and comfort of going to
- 11:12a A basement that I am very familiar with because I'm
- 11:16already in a familiar place especially by, don't speak the
- 11:20language there. And I'm not that familiar with
- 11:22the culture that already makes me kind of answer.
- 11:26That gives me some anxiety already.
- 11:28So to go to like a McDonald's, which I know a lot of people
- 11:33over like, oh gross, why would you go to a McDonald's?
- 11:35If you're in like terrorists or if you're in Tokyo or like
- 11:40whatever kind of stuff, right? It really As for me, I'm not a
- 11:45foodie. And I don't really want to
- 11:50necessarily try to look o food in most places that I visit.
- 11:55There are exceptions though. One time, I went to Tokyo for a
- 11:58whole week this way back in college stuff.
- 12:00So it's many years ago went to Tokyo with some friends of mine
- 12:06and we were there for a week and we made it a thing to try.
- 12:09A different type of Japanese food for every single meal.
- 12:13Oh, and it was like, one of the most delicious weeks I've
- 12:18experienced ever in my life. Granted, if I went to Tokyo by
- 12:23myself for a week, would that have happened?
- 12:26Probably not for all those factors that I listed before but
- 12:29I was like with a group of people so I weakened it as like
- 12:32a group activity, but why would New York anyways?
- 12:37I've been trying to experiment and find out what are the Ask
- 12:43casual food chains that are in the area.
- 12:47So, in LA, or the West Coast, for example, one of my favorite
- 12:51fast-casual chains is Tender Greens.
- 12:54So prefer to Google that up, as it's not everywhere, but Tender
- 12:58Greens, it's fast, casual American, basically.
- 13:02And you can get steak or chicken or tuna, or salmon and get up
- 13:07on, like, a plate with like a side like a salad, or vegetables
- 13:12or Mash. Potatoes or whatever is so it's
- 13:15you know, fast casual Western and that's a type of food that
- 13:21for me is a good mix between it's affordable.
- 13:26It's quick and it's got enough protein and veggies, which is
- 13:31what I usually try to eat it, my diet anyways, but it's also a
- 13:35type of food in a type of restaurant where it is.
- 13:38Not weird for you to eat there. Yourself for which, for me is
- 13:42like The most important criteria, right?
- 13:45It's so weird to go into like a regular sit-down restaurant.
- 13:50I just get a table for yourself, but not always feel like even
- 13:54the tech leaders are nothing wrong with that, but it's like
- 13:58you go in there. Like, first of all, no one
- 14:01working in that restaurant, expects you to get a table for
- 14:04one and just eat by yourself. If it's a slightly more casual
- 14:08type of restaurant where they have like a bar depending on
- 14:12type of restaurant Cuisine, it is is when you're eating those
- 14:14bar. Yeah, you're probably just
- 14:15eating for one that's fine. But like in a lot of restaurants
- 14:18like proper sit-down restaurants, it's feels very
- 14:21weird to get a table for one. I remember one time I took a
- 14:27road trip from Vancouver where I used to live my parents, and I
- 14:31was in college, and I wanted to take a vacation in LA, and I
- 14:36wanted to do a road trip. So, I drove all the way down
- 14:38over, two days from Vancouver, in Canada, down to Los Angeles.
- 14:42And I stayed at The W Hotel basava.
- 14:45It was like fucking nice fancy or whatever.
- 14:48And for one of the meals that decided to eat at the restaurant
- 14:52that was in the hotel and regular Western American Cuisine
- 14:59and order. Like one thing was very busy at
- 15:02the restaurant. When the most of the tables are
- 15:03empty, I think it was like late afternoon, early evening or
- 15:06something. I'm just like a weekday and got
- 15:09a table for one and I had some food.
- 15:12I remember the Waiter asking me, do you like one like a magazine
- 15:19to read or something like that? Because I guess.
- 15:24It was weird for him. That I just wonder like a meal
- 15:27to eat. I think, in the hotel, you have
- 15:29a hotel restaurant. That's like the one restaurant
- 15:31in your hotel. Obviously, getting people that
- 15:33are visiting, and a lot of times people, travel solar for
- 15:36whatever reason. You know, if you're on like a
- 15:37business trip, you're likely gonna be traveling.
- 15:40So a lot up, this is Travelers, they're just solo travel, like
- 15:44they're not traveling in like a group or whatever.
- 15:46And when I travel, I SLI travel solo.
- 15:49I don't usually fly with people. I'm not used to staying with
- 15:51people. I mean I might be going to a
- 15:53party. Now no meet friends at a party
- 15:56or whatever but I'm not actually staying at flying with them so
- 16:00it's weird that in a hotel restaurant where you know you're
- 16:04going to get a bunch of Travelers and a good number.
- 16:07They're going to be so low that like you don't cater to them
- 16:11more like you as a waiter with can also Define as shocking that
- 16:14someone is eating Solo in that restaurant.
- 16:17Yeah so I visit New York every so often so I've been trying to
- 16:24find places where, yeah, it's where I can eat by myself and
- 16:29have feel weird. It's the kind of food that I
- 16:31like to eat and it's like relatively fast and I don't need
- 16:35to like spend a whole bunch of time.
- 16:37They're eating the food because I'm probably there.
- 16:40I'm not traveling to New York, just to eat.
- 16:42I'm traveling to like do other things.
- 16:44So, yeah, so every time I come to New York, I've been trying to
- 16:48like fine New chains and kind of new fast casual places.
- 16:53By the way, Google Maps has been useless.
- 16:57Never been never has Google been so uses it helping me find a
- 17:03place or like something to do other than the out in the world
- 17:08except it's going to type fast. Casual it just gives me fast
- 17:11food. It doesn't understand the
- 17:13definition of like fast-casual, where it's not.
- 17:17It is that in between between Fast food like a Burger King,
- 17:22and let's sit down restaurant. Google Maps doesn't understand
- 17:26that and the Google search doesn't understand that.
- 17:28So, I've been like, I've had to try very hard to find some of
- 17:33these restaurants. But I found my few which is,
- 17:36which is pretty good getting around New York as one of my
- 17:40favorite things because I don't like public transit but I like
- 17:44the train that that's the you like in the subway for example
- 17:48trains. Subway's skytrains.
- 17:51Those are the only types of Transportation public
- 17:53transportation that I like, I hate the bus, I can to the bus.
- 17:56I would not take a bus. Like it could be free to take a
- 18:00bus somewhere, or you can pay $50 to hop in an Uber even if
- 18:06the Uber wasn't faster. And I'll to still take that we
- 18:08were I just don't really like taking like a public transit
- 18:12bus, it's really not my jam. Shuttles are like a little
- 18:18different. So whenever a flight out of LAX,
- 18:19X I park in the economy parking have to take a shuttle to get
- 18:24from the parking to the terminal that seems okay but for me to
- 18:29take like a regular bus bus, like not high school anymore.
- 18:33So I don't I don't like I really don't like the advice but I like
- 18:36taking the train and I love that New York has like a great subway
- 18:39system that pretty much gets you anywhere that you want to go.
- 18:44The only thing is maybe I haven't been in New York for a
- 18:47while now is how Often people don't caii for the subway to
- 18:53ride it. So, I've taken a somebody like
- 18:58five or six times so far, I've been mostly just walking from
- 19:02place to place. I'll take the train from here in
- 19:04Queens. Take it two or three stops into
- 19:06Manhattan. And I'll get off, and I'll just
- 19:09walk to different places on foot today.
- 19:11I walked about six miles, it was to the point where my phone was
- 19:16100% charge completely charge. So we're my earbuds.
- 19:19When I left the hotel at like 1:00 p.m. and four hours later,
- 19:26I like 5:00, they were both on 15%.
- 19:30Like, I've never gone from what 100% to like low battery on my
- 19:34phone and my earbuds at the same time.
- 19:37Number one, and number two, I've never dreamed that much of my
- 19:40battery on either one of those things and like four hours.
- 19:42Like I've been, yeah, well, I was not going to a hotel, that's
- 19:46probably why. But I was just like, walking the
- 19:48whole time today, Day. But anyways, yeah, every time I
- 19:53got into a subway station and take the train or like, I was
- 19:55leaving the subway station to get it back on the street.
- 19:58Every time without fail, I've seen someone like jumped, the
- 20:01turnstile, they just hop over, or I saw one lady like duck
- 20:05under and then, there's also the other trick where people just go
- 20:09in through like the emergency exit.
- 20:11That's by the turnstiles. I can't believe so many people
- 20:14just like Do that? I don't know.
- 20:17It's it like a New York thing like maybe I just it's always
- 20:21been like that and I haven't been in New York and like a
- 20:24while. So like I don't notice it that
- 20:26much or something and like these people they don't care who sees.
- 20:30So I was coming out of a subway station and someone just came in
- 20:35through like the emergency exit, like the wrong way, like, going
- 20:38back in and the guide the booth was like right there.
- 20:42So I guess they're like, I'm like there in the booth.
- 20:45Like what can they do? Right?
- 20:46Yeah. Just the amount of people that
- 20:47don't pay the fare. I don't even know how much the
- 20:49fair is but like I guess, well it is what it is, I guess.
- 20:54So I mentioned the last podcast I decided at the last minute to
- 20:58come to New York early. I was supposed to originally
- 21:02come in New York Wednesday Thursday the week before Pride
- 21:08weekend itself and stay for about 5 days and leave the
- 21:11Monday. I ended up coming In Sunday, a
- 21:15full week before, probably we can and as I am recording, it is
- 21:19Tuesday night. I found that it's been nice to
- 21:24have that change of scenery and then kind of get my head kind of
- 21:29out of the mental state that it was in and that was kind of one
- 21:33of the main reasons. I'm at the point where if I have
- 21:37the motivation to do something or if I think something is a
- 21:40good idea, I'm competing. I'm convincing myself.
- 21:43Of to just like not question it and do it as long as it's not
- 21:49something that's very obviously. Nonsense course stupid to do.
- 21:53So when I had the thought to just, you know what, I want to
- 21:57leave La early, I want to get out of La for longer.
- 22:01Let's maybe just go to New York a few days earlier than planned
- 22:05when I had that thought. I just like, didn't question.
- 22:08I just started looking into it. I was like, doesn't seem like an
- 22:11obviously stupid idea. It's not more expensive cost few
- 22:15more points for a few extra nights at the hotel.
- 22:17But yeah so I just got it done because one of the things I've
- 22:22been struggling with this entire year and even since last year
- 22:27honestly it's just lack the motivation to do things.
- 22:30I touched on it a little bit it's very first episode of the
- 22:33podcast and on this career break and that's related.
- 22:38I was seeing a therapist for a while last year that's related.
- 22:42Yeah, it's like I just don't know.
- 22:45So the motivation to do a lot of things that's kind of sort of
- 22:48gone. I'm not depressed for, but I was
- 22:52thinking a little bit, like, do I have like some sort of low
- 22:55form of decree depression or something as far as I can tell?
- 22:58I don't, but things that I used to enjoy doing and I don't enjoy
- 23:04them so much anymore. Everything seems like a chore
- 23:07and I can't tell if There's something going on or I'm just
- 23:12got like really, really, really lazy.
- 23:15But yeah, it's been nice. I would say, at least for like
- 23:18the last couple of days to be out of Allah, not be on my couch
- 23:22watching TV coming to the hotel and watching TV instantly.
- 23:27First thing I do when it comes to the hotel rooms like put our
- 23:30HGTV of the foot network is what I've been watching in the hotel
- 23:33room. But yeah, during the day though
- 23:37the last couple of days when I'm here, yeah, I just Out of the
- 23:40house just went into my hand, just explore different places.
- 23:43Like I said, I was trying to find different like fast casual
- 23:46restaurants today, I went and hiked the entire High Line Park.
- 23:52Highland Park is, don't kill me. If I get this wrong I'm just I'm
- 23:56not Google. I'm just doing this off of
- 23:57memory but Haile Park is basically a old railroad that
- 24:02was elevated off the street now turned into a park because like
- 24:07the chain doesn't run on those rails anymore.
- 24:10Something like that but it's actually really cute.
- 24:13So Ashley went from one end, the Northern end of High Line Park
- 24:19walked all the way down to where the Meatpacking District is.
- 24:22And I walked back in the tend to like just walking all over
- 24:28Manhattan for other things too. Like free food or find coffee,
- 24:32or just do whatever. Yeah.
- 24:34So it's been nice to just be out and about and Just kind of sort
- 24:40of, not worried about job hunting or chores or bills or
- 24:46anything like that. And like just be out, you know,
- 24:50which is kind of hard for me to do.
- 24:52If that's why I don't leave the house that often, when I'm in
- 24:56Los Angeles, that sounds horrible.
- 24:58But I do go to the gym all the time and this week, I'm not
- 25:00going to the gym because like, I'm just on a break.
- 25:03I'm on like proper vacation trip.
- 25:04So it's like, I'm not even going to the gym.
- 25:06I'm getting exercising with the walking, but, yeah, when I'm at
- 25:09home, It's very easy to just to not leave the house unless I
- 25:14have to the gym is one of the few things that gets me out of
- 25:17the house right now. But yeah, it's been a lot of
- 25:20time thinking about what I want to do with life and it's not a
- 25:25question I've ever really had to think about before.
- 25:29So yeah it's baby steps but I think what I needed and what's
- 25:35been good for me so far, it's just to have that change of
- 25:37scenery and being a new group as stuff.
- 25:39Ali that change of scenery that I really, really needed.
- 25:45Yeah, and I'm just gonna go with the flow, we have Pride weekend
- 25:49coming up in New York, which is why I'm here.
- 25:52So we'll see how the parties turn out and I'll give you all
- 25:56an update on New York Pride weekend on the next episode.
- 26:02Now as always, I like to wrap up the episode with a little talk,
- 26:06about RuPaul's Drag Race, some Stars season 18 we're up to
- 26:11episode 7. The only thing I really wanted
- 26:17to talk about honestly is the amount of crying.
- 26:25And the amount of Dramatics that Alexis Michelle displays on the
- 26:32show because when they were picking parts like Drag race
- 26:38fans will understand, you know, when a queen gets a little too
- 26:44emotional for being safe from elimination on a particular
- 26:49week, but now, you know, we're getting emotions.
- 26:53When you don't get the part that you want it before the main
- 27:00challenge, even occurs the thing.
- 27:02That bugs me so much about this is what On the one hand, it's
- 27:07good TV, I guess, but for me, it's just annoying.
- 27:09Like, not like a love to Hate Everything.
- 27:12Like, I just don't like it because they say, improv
- 27:16challenge this week and all the Queen's were discussing who
- 27:21wants what parts. Okay.
- 27:24There's going to be some queens that are going to get the elbows
- 27:27out a little bit and say, I want this part and their little
- 27:30stronger for it but like, hey, it's a competition, you know?
- 27:33Like, you're not here to make friends.
- 27:36I feel like you don't need to throw other people under the bus
- 27:39explicitly. But you know if there's a part
- 27:41you want you should probably just say, hey I want this part
- 27:44right and no one wants it. Great as yours if someone else
- 27:48wants it. Okay, you guys figure it out
- 27:50which is like candy and Alexis are trying to do the two things
- 27:55about that. That bug me specifically was
- 27:58when they were figuring it out. And Alexis said well, these two
- 28:04parts are pretty Similar. So why do you just take the
- 28:07other part? And Candy.
- 28:11What candy said was like exactly what I was thinking.
- 28:14Let's candy set was those two parts are so slim.
- 28:17Right? You take the other part because
- 28:19you think they're similar, I don't think there's similar,
- 28:22which from like a logical point of view makes like perfect
- 28:26logical. Sets it felt a little bit, like,
- 28:29Alexis was trying to be like, well, you shouldn't have what
- 28:36you want and like, you should take this other part, which I
- 28:39think is, Similar enough for you but not for me like it's a
- 28:42little like, I don't know. Hypocritical is the right word,
- 28:46but I just didn't like it. I didn't like it.
- 28:49But literally what candy said was what I was thinking.
- 28:51Like Alexis if you think those two parts are so similar, why
- 28:55don't you take that other part that you think is so similar to
- 28:57the part that we both want? Because I don't think those
- 29:00parts of that similar but you do so you take the other part And
- 29:04then the thing is Alexis, then finally agrees.
- 29:09Okay, I'll take the other part and if volunteer to do that, I
- 29:15mean, obviously candy was fighting for the part that he
- 29:17wanted T, but like I said, okay, I'll take this all apart and it
- 29:22starts crying. So in the confessionals and
- 29:26stuff, I know Alexis said he's like very sensitive.
- 29:29Very emotional. Yes, fine.
- 29:31But at that moment basically, it was also like can set is like
- 29:38The Dramatics like it's Yes, I get.
- 29:43It's a pressure cooker. I don't have sympathy bad.
- 29:46Hey it's a very difficult environment that everyone is in
- 29:51but Lex has also alluded to this a little in the confessional
- 29:55swalot. If you can't take the pressure
- 29:58maybe you shouldn't be here. So at least she has enough
- 30:01self-awareness to like kind of sort of be getting that hint.
- 30:06I don't know. We've seen girls that have been
- 30:09too emotional for me. Safe from being eliminated.
- 30:13Like bitch you're picking apart like in you're crying over that.
- 30:18I just don't get it. I know this is good TV I just
- 30:23don't want to see that. So for me it's like I it's not
- 30:29enjoyable you just is for me is annoying to watch it as a
- 30:31viewer. Someone that is so sensitive and
- 30:38cries at things like That because for me, it's like I
- 30:44don't get the sense, you have, what it takes to be in this
- 30:48competition. Number one, the number two is
- 30:51four All-Stars, you've done this once.
- 30:54So I felt like, you know, you should have some idea what to
- 31:00expect. It's kind of the same note that
- 31:01I had with Heidi, for example and Heidi kind of may be
- 31:05thinking o in the All-Stars are winter season, they no one left.
- 31:11EFT, no one left the competition.
- 31:14And I think it was wishful. Thinking if Heidi ever thought
- 31:17that that was the case for every All-Star season going forward.
- 31:21Because for me, it was pretty clear that that was a all
- 31:24winners specific thing that they were doing.
- 31:26That was not likely going to repeat it for every future
- 31:30All-Star season. It wasn't going to be for all
- 31:32winners. Just the regular All-Star
- 31:34season. Even before the first episode
- 31:37aired, I knew it was likely to be reverted to the old all
- 31:41songs. For my we're Queens will have to
- 31:43vote each other out. So I feel like for candy to have
- 31:48thought that no one was going to leave.
- 31:51I don't think that's realistic just to be completely honest me
- 31:53as a viewer. I can already tell you like
- 31:57bitches are going to go. So I don't know how where she
- 32:00got that from, but I am not a fan of her patreon so I don't
- 32:03know what the real T is, but she locked up.
- 32:06Behind a pay wall. But the thing is for LS is
- 32:09Michelle to be there and be, I don't know crying that much.
- 32:15It's the producer spike in her water or something.
- 32:18Are they? Like they put in cut, onions,
- 32:22under her face out of the camera shot or something.
- 32:25I don't know what it is. It's it's too much.
- 32:28It's too much. It just feels like to me like
- 32:30you're not You're not strong enough to take the pressure, you
- 32:36know, you should have known better because it's like when
- 32:39you come back for All Stars you've been kind of through the
- 32:41ringer once and it's not something you want to do then
- 32:44like yeah that's as nice as I can make it but I just want to
- 32:49say like just beat it. I kind of want to Alexa to just
- 32:53eliminated this week because just for that because I just
- 32:58don't like how cheese behave. So are the season with like kind
- 33:05of sort of throwing Darren under the bus, like throwing a
- 33:08teammate under the bus, stealing the Thunder from like the very
- 33:12first episode from like Monica, like Monica was like a on the
- 33:16chopping block and you're the one that gets all emotional and
- 33:20like taking a ticket in the attention away and to like the
- 33:25flip-flopping last week when there's the drama between candy
- 33:29and Heidi and Jimbo to be fair, And she was like, hold on to the
- 33:34spot but like you know, the flip-flop was, take the cameras,
- 33:37don't lie, and then you can't even figure out what the other
- 33:43queens. What part you're all going to do
- 33:46without crying? It's like that's like the
- 33:50easiest part of the challenge to do is to pick the parts of like,
- 33:54you have to do that dressing and that improv and acting like
- 33:59that. That's, that's the real
- 34:00challenge. The real challenge is not to
- 34:02pick up. All right, so like and you can't
- 34:04even do that without crying. I don't know.
- 34:07Let all of this stuff together. Makes me not like, Alexis
- 34:10Michelle on the season. So it's some sort of drama, like
- 34:17I said, you know, it's the producers like it because it's
- 34:20some sort of entertainment value.
- 34:22And this is why most people watch reality TV because hey
- 34:26there needs to be some sort of drama, right?
- 34:28That's why you watch any TV show, right?
- 34:30Even if she TV the HGTV shows, I watch I can tell oh the couple
- 34:35didn't know that there's 100 your house was going to have you
- 34:39know, let pipes or something. It's like obviously the
- 34:42producers and all the people knew that there's some problem
- 34:45of the house but they have to it's a diff putting on a TV show
- 34:48to have to, you know, put in some drama in there.
- 34:50So I get that. But for me it's like I just
- 34:55don't like me personally. I think a lot of people like
- 34:59that type of drama but this On a crying combined, with throwing a
- 35:05teammate under the bus combined with like the things that she's
- 35:10saying all of that makes me just not like her very much.
- 35:15And yeah, you know it's she's not necessary going to be a
- 35:17queen that I'm going to be lining up to buy ticket to see
- 35:22you know like all the Queen's are very talented.
- 35:24Right. Definitely and I mentioned this
- 35:27before their producers there that are like nudging people to
- 35:32like Possibly react one way or say certain things right?
- 35:36But I don't know. This is not the type of
- 35:41Television that I personally like to see.
- 35:44Let's leave it at that before I get way more worked up and with
- 35:49that we have another episode of this podcast complete.
- 35:54So one thing I want to say is I mentioned this before if you
