- 0:00Speaker 1: Good morning, Tatum. You're on the air. How are you?
- 0:02Speaker 2: I'm good. How are you?
- 0:04Speaker 3: I understand you have like a weird rule that you
- 0:06Speaker 3: want to share with us growing up.
- 0:08Speaker 2: I do. So my parents had this really weird, weird
- 0:12Speaker 2: rule that nobody in our family was ever allowed to
- 0:14Speaker 2: sleep in the guest room, like ever. And I thought
- 0:18Speaker 2: that was super normal until I started having sleepovers at
- 0:20Speaker 2: other people's houses. And I realized people actually use their
- 0:23Speaker 2: guest rooms and they, In our house, my parents said
- 0:27Speaker 2: that room was just for like emergencies only, which apparently
- 0:30Speaker 2: meant if someone died or got divorced or was between homes.
- 0:34Speaker 2: And the craziest part was we weren't even allowed to
- 0:36Speaker 2: go in there without permission. My mom would keep, yeah,
- 0:39Speaker 2: she'd keep this bed perfectly made, curtains closed. And it
- 0:42Speaker 2: was kind of giving like a horror movie, not gonna lie.
- 0:46Speaker 2: And I finally asked her why we couldn't use it.
- 0:48Speaker 2: And she goes, because then it'll stop being a guest room.
- 0:53Speaker 2: And I was like, but mom, we are the guests.
- 0:56Speaker 4: We live here.
- 0:58Speaker 1: That's so funny.
- 0:59Speaker 5: That reminds me of like growing up, I had a
- 1:01Speaker 5: friend who came over and he's like, is there any
- 1:03Speaker 5: rooms I can't go in?
- 1:05Speaker 6: And we were like, no.
- 1:06Speaker 5: And then me and my friends went over to his
- 1:08Speaker 5: house and his mom literally had like, I think it
- 1:11Speaker 5: was a living room.
- 1:12Speaker 2: Right.
- 1:12Speaker 5: And it was like literally blocked off with like those
- 1:15Speaker 5: red stanchion thingies, like.
- 1:16Speaker 1: A museum, like a museum.
- 1:18Speaker 7: Right.
- 1:19Speaker 1: Did they live at Graceland?
- 1:21Speaker 7: No.
- 1:22Speaker 3: Nope, it was just in Ahwatukee.
- 1:23Speaker 1: You know what's funny? Wait, wait, wait.
- 1:26Speaker 3: Like old books and stuff? I don't know.
- 1:27Speaker 8: Maybe she had antiques.
- 1:28Speaker 9: I don't know.
- 1:29Speaker 3: Your friend asking, are there any rooms I can't go
- 1:31Speaker 3: in is so weird.
- 1:32Speaker 7: So weird.
- 1:33Speaker 1: So weird. I'd be like, wow.
- 1:34Speaker 9: I know.
- 1:34Speaker 8: That makes sense.
- 1:35Speaker 5: Well, I thought it was weird until going to his
- 1:37Speaker 5: house and realizing they do have a room you're not
- 1:39Speaker 5: allowed in.
- 1:39Speaker 6: And it probably was, like, he probably, poor guy was
- 1:41Speaker 6: probably traumatized.
- 1:42Speaker 8: He definitely did not want to walk into a room
- 1:44Speaker 8: he wasn't supposed to.
- 1:44Speaker 6: I'm sorry. I'm sure his mom... had lit him up
- 1:48Speaker 6: once or twice. Like, what's that about?
- 1:50Speaker 8: That makes total sense to me.
- 1:51Speaker 10: Okay, my childhood home in beautiful Florissant, Missouri was 1,300
- 1:55Speaker 10: square feet. So we never were allowed to go into
- 1:58Speaker 10: the living room unless... There were church people over. They
- 2:02Speaker 10: could go in there, and on Christmas Day, we would
- 2:04Speaker 10: go in there. Otherwise, it was off-limits, off-limits to us.
- 2:08Speaker 10: So we hung out in the kitchen, me and my brother.
- 2:11Speaker 10: That's where we hung out because the rooms were too small.
- 2:13Speaker 10: But that room was totally off-limits. I get your friend.
- 2:15Speaker 10: I totally get it.
- 2:16Speaker 8: Because you just wanted to keep it nice?
- 2:18Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 2:18Speaker 10: It was just nice and whatever they had nice on the–
- 2:22Speaker 10: You know, the carpet was perfect. The couch you couldn't
- 2:24Speaker 10: sit on. So there was no reason for us to
- 2:26Speaker 10: go in there because there was nothing in there we
- 2:28Speaker 10: wanted to hang out and play with anyway.
- 2:30Speaker 3: But we weren't allowed in the living room at all.
- 2:32Speaker 3: Let's get into weird rules growing up. 877-937-1047. When I
- 2:36Speaker 3: was a kid and my dad was working in his office,
- 2:39Speaker 3: whenever I walked in to say something to him, he
- 2:41Speaker 3: always made me say the alphabet in Greek. And then
- 2:44Speaker 3: I had to do it backwards in reverse. I think
- 2:50Speaker 3: that's an Indiana Jones movie.
- 2:52Speaker 1: Well, you're right. That is Indiana Jones.
- 2:54Speaker 6: My bad.
- 2:54Speaker 1: I was about to say.
- 2:57Speaker 8: You lost me there.
- 2:58Speaker 6: Already then?
- 3:01Speaker 9: Okay.
- 3:01Speaker 3: That way I was able to read hydroglyphics growing up
- 3:04Speaker 3: and I could save the arc.
- 3:06Speaker 6: Okay, now I'm seeing. Now I'm getting it.
- 3:09Speaker 10: You guys got a whole deep lore you guys don't
- 3:11Speaker 10: even know about.
- 3:12Speaker 3: Tatum, thanks for calling in. Thanks for listening. And thanks
- 3:14Speaker 3: for giving us a segment to get into. We want
- 3:15Speaker 3: to get into weird rules.
- 3:17Speaker 1: Hillary, you got a weird rule?
- 3:19Speaker 12: Yeah, I do. My family has this rule. Where if
- 3:23Speaker 12: I had a, you know, like growing up and stuff,
- 3:26Speaker 12: like when I was in high school, my family had
- 3:27Speaker 12: this rule where if I had a boyfriend sleep over,
- 3:30Speaker 12: he had to sleep on the floor and my bedroom
- 3:32Speaker 12: door had to stay open. I thought this was like normal.
- 3:35Speaker 12: So when I went to college, I started dating this
- 3:38Speaker 12: guy and I made him sleep on the floor the.
- 3:41Speaker 13: First time he stayed over.
- 3:43Speaker 11: He looked at me like I was crazy.
- 3:45Speaker 9: And he's like.
- 3:47Speaker 14: Wait, I'm sorry.
- 3:48Speaker 12: You want me to sleep where? And I was like,
- 3:50Speaker 12: the floor, obviously. That's where boyfriends sleep when they stay over.
- 3:54Speaker 2: But then I.
- 3:56Speaker 12: Realized I don't have to follow my parents' little house
- 3:59Speaker 12: rules when I'm an adult. I finally realized that.
- 4:04Speaker 2: Yeah, we're actually still friends.
- 4:07Speaker 12: We're not dating anymore, but he still brings it up.
- 4:10Speaker 12: He was so gagged about it, but he did it anyway,
- 4:14Speaker 12: and That's kind of like why we started dating. We
- 4:17Speaker 12: dated for a while before.
- 4:18Speaker 3: So when you were in high school, your parents let
- 4:20Speaker 3: you have a guy sleep over?
- 4:21Speaker 8: That's what I was going to say. That's crazy.
- 4:23Speaker 1: No way.
- 4:24Speaker 11: Yeah, yeah.
- 4:26Speaker 12: They were like, yeah, but the bedroom door has to
- 4:28Speaker 12: stay open.
- 4:28Speaker 10: Still.
- 4:28Speaker 7: Sleep over, though.
- 4:32Speaker 12: Truly, I was such a good kid that it didn't
- 4:34Speaker 12: even matter. Like, I was not going to be sleeping with.
- 4:37Speaker 7: My boyfriend in high school.
- 4:39Speaker 13: My parents knew it.
- 4:40Speaker 6: I had a friend who used to always have sleepovers with, like,
- 4:43Speaker 6: her guy friends, and I would go and spend the night,
- 4:45Speaker 6: and I would get so nervous that my mom and
- 4:47Speaker 6: dad would find out that I was having sleepovers with
- 4:49Speaker 6: boys that I would always come up with some fake
- 4:51Speaker 6: excuse that I needed my mom.
- 4:53Speaker 8: To come pick me up. I was not about to
- 4:54Speaker 8: get reamed for her.
- 4:56Speaker 9: No.
- 4:56Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 4:57Speaker 8: That would be scary.
- 4:59Speaker 6: Also, kind of weird, there's like six boys here and
- 5:02Speaker 6: we're like in the eighth grade.
- 5:03Speaker 9: This is odd.
- 5:05Speaker 11: Oh my God, I would never.
- 5:06Speaker 15: I would go home.
- 5:07Speaker 6: Yeah, girl, I did.
- 5:09Speaker 3: Trust.
- 5:11Speaker 1: Hillary, thanks for listening. Have a great day.
- 5:13Speaker 15: Thank you.
- 5:14Speaker 3: My friend Mike, I remember, this is kind of a
- 5:17Speaker 3: weird rule, but when he got in trouble, I remember
- 5:20Speaker 3: his parents, the way he got punished was that they
- 5:23Speaker 3: put him in a room And he had to sit
- 5:25Speaker 3: on a chair in the middle of the room and
- 5:27Speaker 3: his feet weren't allowed to.
- 5:28Speaker 1: Touch the ground. and they would look under the door
- 5:31Speaker 1: if his feet touched the ground, and they would, like,
- 5:33Speaker 1: spank him. Oh, my gosh. I know. I was told
- 5:37Speaker 1: that one time, and I had, like, nightmares. Yeah. Why
- 5:39Speaker 1: would your parents be like that?
- 5:40Speaker 6: Oh, my gosh. I've totally had to do wall sits
- 5:42Speaker 6: as a punishment, but never got, like, whooped for it
- 5:44Speaker 6: if I didn't.
- 5:45Speaker 8: Like, pass.
- 5:46Speaker 10: That's different than your feet can't touch the ground and
- 5:48Speaker 10: they're spying on you.
- 5:49Speaker 8: Under the door.
- 5:50Speaker 1: That is a weird rule.
- 5:50Speaker 7: I know.
- 5:51Speaker 1: Weird rules and weird punishment, too.
- 5:54Speaker 7: Yeah. Anyway, 877-937-1047.
- 6:07Speaker 1: Weird rules. You're growing up.
- 6:09Speaker 3: You have these rules that you find out later when
- 6:12Speaker 3: you're an adult.
- 6:13Speaker 1: Hey, that's weird. Selena.
- 6:17Speaker 9: Yes.
- 6:17Speaker 11: Hello.
- 6:18Speaker 16: Good morning.
- 6:18Speaker 1: Good morning. What's a weird rule you had growing up?
- 6:21Speaker 13: So, my mother always worked in the medical field when
- 6:24Speaker 13: we were younger. And so, any time that we would start, like,
- 6:28Speaker 13: you know, just a cough, she would always just tell us,
- 6:32Speaker 13: suppress it.
- 6:33Speaker 1: So.
- 6:34Speaker 13: Every time we would start to cough, she would just,
- 6:36Speaker 13: you know, always just tell us to suppress it. And
- 6:38Speaker 13: we were like, you know, little kids, like, how do
- 6:42Speaker 13: you suppress your cough? But honestly, it worked. I mean,
- 6:46Speaker 13: we never had those crazy barking coughs that you hear
- 6:49Speaker 13: some of the kids with. So I tried it with
- 6:52Speaker 13: my family, and they looked at me like I was crazy.
- 6:54Speaker 14: My husband was like.
- 6:56Speaker 13: suppress it he's like i'm gonna explode what do you
- 6:59Speaker 13: mean suppress it.
- 7:00Speaker 10: So she's saying as a medical professional if you hold
- 7:03Speaker 10: back the cough you don't actually get the real cough.
- 7:07Speaker 16: Well yeah so she would just explain that like if
- 7:10Speaker 16: you yeah don't give into that cough then it won't
- 7:13Speaker 16: get worse because you know you cough and then it
- 7:15Speaker 16: like takes you know the tick all the way but
- 7:17Speaker 16: then you're coughing.
- 7:18Speaker 3: Again it's the power of the mind i guess is
- 7:20Speaker 3: what your mom's actually.
- 7:21Speaker 13: Doing Yeah, it kind of was. I mean, we really
- 7:25Speaker 13: never got like those horrible chest colds and coughs.
- 7:28Speaker 16: And honestly, like my family thinks I'm crazy, but they
- 7:33Speaker 16: never did either.
- 7:34Speaker 1: So it was. Suppress it. It sounds like you're doing
- 7:36Speaker 1: a commercial for Bop It. Bop It. Suppress it. Thanks, Selena. Micah,
- 7:42Speaker 1: good morning. What's a weird rule you had growing up? Micah. Yeah,
- 7:48Speaker 1: you're on the air.
- 7:48Speaker 15: Hi, good morning. Um, my mom, she was a single
- 7:52Speaker 15: parent and she worked a lot and I had two
- 7:55Speaker 15: younger brothers, the three of us, and we fought about
- 7:58Speaker 15: literally everything, everything. But what we thought about the most
- 8:01Speaker 15: was sitting up front in the front seat of the
- 8:03Speaker 15: car and what went on the TV. So she decided
- 8:07Speaker 15: to assign us specific days of the week. So for example,
- 8:13Speaker 15: my day was Monday and Thursday and those were the
- 8:17Speaker 15: days that I got to choose what went on TV
- 8:19Speaker 15: and one of the days I got to sit shotgun. Um,
- 8:22Speaker 15: but it's funny and it did, um, it kind of
- 8:25Speaker 15: like stopped the fighting for sure, but it also kind
- 8:28Speaker 15: of turned us into con artists, um, amongst ourselves. Cause
- 8:32Speaker 15: I would use it during the week to like get
- 8:34Speaker 15: my brothers to do stuff for me. Um, my brother
- 8:38Speaker 15: was a big WWE wrestling fan and that's what was
- 8:41Speaker 15: on Monday and Thursdays. So I would kind of use
- 8:44Speaker 15: it to my advantage.
- 8:46Speaker 1: I get it.
- 8:46Speaker 8: That's awesome.
- 8:47Speaker 1: Well, thank you, Micah. Are any of you guys watching
- 8:50Speaker 1: Lanterns on HBO?
- 8:51Speaker 6: No, but I've heard some good stuff about it.
- 8:53Speaker 1: Did you watch the most recent episode that came out yesterday?
- 8:55Speaker 8: Oh, then I've only seen two so far.
- 8:57Speaker 1: There's three now. Okay.
- 8:58Speaker 3: And yesterday, it's the backstory of Jon Stewart, who's going
- 9:01Speaker 3: to be the next Green Lantern.
- 9:03Speaker 1: Hey, boy, that dude is good looking. He is. Remember
- 9:05Speaker 1: that movie Rebel Ridge, Peyton? You see Rebel Ridge?
- 9:07Speaker 8: That's what he's from.
- 9:08Speaker 1: Yeah, he's the guy from Rebel Ridge.
- 9:08Speaker 6: He's Mufasa, Aaron Pierre. He dated Tiana Taylor.
- 9:11Speaker 1: He's freaking fantastic.
- 9:12Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 9:13Speaker 1: He's so tough in the show. You sold me with that.
- 9:16Speaker 8: I can watch it now.
- 9:17Speaker 1: It's his backstory. And when he's a kid.
- 9:20Speaker 3: He already knows he's going to be the Green Lantern,
- 9:22Speaker 3: so he's trained to be the Green Lantern. And the
- 9:24Speaker 3: family has these rules. He's got two brothers, and they're
- 9:27Speaker 3: teaching him to be fearless. And so they just drop
- 9:30Speaker 3: him off downtown in the middle of the night at
- 9:32Speaker 3: five years old. The dad shoots an apple off his head.
- 9:36Speaker 1: That I saw. No, but they're giving you the.
- 9:37Speaker 3: History of how that happened. And they're just teaching him
- 9:40Speaker 3: to be fearless. And it's so brutal. You talk about
- 9:43Speaker 3: family rules. Like those rules for this kid were just brutal.
- 9:46Speaker 3: And then he goes in the military. But it's a
- 9:48Speaker 3: really good show. Really good show.
- 9:49Speaker 1: Kate, you got a weird rule. Morning, Kate.
- 9:54Speaker 8: Hi.
- 9:54Speaker 11: Good morning.
- 9:55Speaker 1: Morning.
- 9:57Speaker 11: Yes, I had a weird family rule when we ever.
- 10:00Speaker 11: got Christmas gifts or any birthday gifts. We weren't actually
- 10:05Speaker 11: allowed to open things like Bratz dolls and Barbies and
- 10:09Speaker 11: things like that because they would be collectible one day.
- 10:14Speaker 7: Wow.
- 10:14Speaker 1: Did you play?
- 10:15Speaker 9: It's funny.
- 10:16Speaker 5: Peyton and I, we were just talking about this the
- 10:18Speaker 5: other day with, like, the holiday Barbies.
- 10:20Speaker 7: Yes.
- 10:20Speaker 8: We couldn't wait.
- 10:21Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 10:21Speaker 5: It could have been worth millions. So now you probably
- 10:23Speaker 5: have a nice stash of collectibles.
- 10:27Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 10:27Speaker 11: I actually have, like, six different dolls still in the
- 10:29Speaker 11: boxes just sitting up in the closet.
- 10:32Speaker 8: But what did you play with? Just sticks from the yard? What?
- 10:37Speaker 11: Certain ones we would be able to. So they had those,
- 10:40Speaker 11: you know, the cheaper ones, you know, the bags with, like,
- 10:44Speaker 11: collapse in we were able to play with those ones
- 10:48Speaker 11: and like yeah the basic ones.
- 10:49Speaker 6: The ones you're talking about are like they're in these
- 10:51Speaker 6: big beautiful boxes or they're they're limited edition like i
- 10:54Speaker 6: still have my justin bieber barbie doll packed away somewhere
- 10:56Speaker 6: because i thought it was going to make me a
- 10:58Speaker 6: ton of money it's not by the.
- 10:59Speaker 11: Way yeah i have one that actually is like in
- 11:03Speaker 11: a guitar shaped case like it was a brass.
- 11:05Speaker 8: Doll with a guitar that's cool i love that yeah
- 11:08Speaker 8: thanks kate thanks for listening.
- 11:11Speaker 1: Levy what's a weird rule you have.
- 11:14Speaker 14: So growing up, if I were sick or if I
- 11:19Speaker 14: had an appointment or if there was anything that ailed
- 11:22Speaker 14: me or kept me from school, I couldn't have any
- 11:27Speaker 14: fun after, you know, like if school was over and
- 11:31Speaker 14: my appointment was over and I had to go home,
- 11:34Speaker 14: like no TV, no having fun, no going outside because
- 11:38Speaker 14: I missed school.
- 11:38Speaker 1: Oh, that makes sense.
- 11:40Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 11:41Speaker 8: I think that's a good rule. You should be able
- 11:42Speaker 8: to watch TV if you're sick, though. Oh, you should
- 11:43Speaker 8: be able to watch TV for sure.
- 11:44Speaker 10: That's the glory of being home during the day.
- 11:47Speaker 8: You get to watch all the shows.
- 11:48Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 11:48Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 11:49Speaker 14: I believe that, too. But, like, that was just a
- 11:51Speaker 14: weird rule that my mom had. It was just no fun.
- 11:55Speaker 7: If you didn't get to go to school.
- 11:57Speaker 1: She didn't want you to fake it.
- 11:59Speaker 7: Right.
- 11:59Speaker 1: Exactly.
- 11:59Speaker 14: I think that it was just more along the lines, like, if, okay,
- 12:02Speaker 14: if you don't go to school, then you can't have
- 12:04Speaker 14: fun after school.
- 12:05Speaker 7: Right, right.
- 12:06Speaker 1: Thanks, Levy. Debracy, what do you got? What's a weird rule? Hello.
- 12:13Speaker 3: Hi.
- 12:14Speaker 1: Hi. What's your weird rule?
- 12:17Speaker 4: So when I would decide, say on a Tuesday, that
- 12:22Speaker 4: I was going to hang out with my friends until
- 12:25Speaker 4: the streetlights came on and have fun, the next day I.
- 12:29Speaker 12: Couldn't have fun.
- 12:31Speaker 17: So it was every other time.
- 12:34Speaker 1: Wild.
- 12:35Speaker 12: And it was the weirdest thing.
- 12:36Speaker 4: I have kids now and I tried to implement that.
- 12:40Speaker 4: And my kids definitely called me out and was like,
- 12:42Speaker 4: what is that?
- 12:45Speaker 10: It didn't occur to you until they started pushing back
- 12:48Speaker 10: that you can have fun every day?
- 12:51Speaker 15: Yeah, and I'm like, wait, hold on.
- 12:52Speaker 17: I need to stop.
- 12:53Speaker 9: No.
- 12:54Speaker 4: So, yeah, it was definitely a learning curve for me
- 12:57Speaker 4: because I thought that was normal.
- 12:58Speaker 17: So if I have fun today, there's no having fun tomorrow.
- 13:01Speaker 4: It's a full day of no talking, no going anywhere.
- 13:05Speaker 6: That makes me want to go to my grandma's house.
- 13:07Speaker 1: That's weird. That is probably one of the weirdest rules
- 13:10Speaker 1: I've ever heard.
- 13:11Speaker 5: So you would never get like a three-day pass to Disneyland.
- 13:14Speaker 1: No way. Three days in a row would not be
- 13:16Speaker 1: an option.
- 13:16Speaker 8: Just jam too tight with fun.
- 13:18Speaker 3: You'd go to Disneyland one day and the second day
- 13:20Speaker 3: you'd get stuck in traffic and make your stay in traffic.
- 13:22Speaker 1: Bad day. Thank you. Jared, you got a weird rule?
- 13:29Speaker 7: So I don't have a weird rule, but my buddy,
- 13:33Speaker 7: they had a white room in there. It was like
- 13:35Speaker 7: a living room.
- 13:36Speaker 1: It was a white room.
- 13:36Speaker 7: Nobody was allowed to go in there. Well, anyway, I
- 13:40Speaker 7: worked for an appliance company and they ordered a new
- 13:43Speaker 7: washer and dryer. And so me and my other buddy,
- 13:46Speaker 7: we went to install it. And when we tried to
- 13:50Speaker 7: install the new washer and dryer, we flooded that room.
- 13:55Speaker 8: The white room got flooded.
- 13:57Speaker 1: And what's the weird rule?
- 13:58Speaker 9: That?
- 13:58Speaker 1: The white rule? That no one's allowed in there?
- 14:02Speaker 7: The weird rule is nobody was allowed in that white room.
- 14:05Speaker 1: Ever.
- 14:06Speaker 7: You couldn't go in there.
- 14:07Speaker 1: So what did they do in there? It was perfect.
- 14:08Speaker 1: What do you do in a white room? I don't know.
- 14:11Speaker 7: It wasn't my house.
- 14:12Speaker 5: You'd probably just look at it. So when you flooded it,
- 14:15Speaker 5: did you try to go in there to fix it?
- 14:16Speaker 5: And they were like, don't go in there.
- 14:18Speaker 1: Don't fix the white room.
- 14:21Speaker 7: No, it was just flooded. And so we're calling the
- 14:24Speaker 7: plumbers and everybody else trying to get over there to
- 14:28Speaker 7: fix the pipe. But the white room was absolutely destroyed.
- 14:33Speaker 1: All right. Thanks, Jared. Dee, you got a weird rule?
- 14:40Speaker 13: Yeah, I have a couple of them, actually.
- 14:41Speaker 7: All right.
- 14:42Speaker 9: I had two girls being a single mom. And along
- 14:46Speaker 9: the lines of them fighting all the time, like the
- 14:49Speaker 9: previous caller talked about, what I did with them, because
- 14:52Speaker 9: they always want a shotgun, is one of the kids'
- 14:57Speaker 9: birthday was on the 18th, and one of the kids'
- 14:59Speaker 9: birthday was on the 19th. So I told them it
- 15:02Speaker 9: was odd and even. So if it was an even day,
- 15:06Speaker 9: then the even person, the 18th, so she was even
- 15:08Speaker 9: day and odd day. So that was one of them.
- 15:10Speaker 8: Complicated, but okay, get it.
- 15:13Speaker 12: Well, it was just odd and even.
- 15:14Speaker 9: It was easier back then.
- 15:15Speaker 12: It's like, what day is it?
- 15:17Speaker 13: Okay, it's the 5th.
- 15:18Speaker 9: So then, you know, Miranda, which was the odd day. Anyways,
- 15:23Speaker 9: the second rule was for Christmas Day, Christmas morning, they
- 15:28Speaker 9: were not allowed to come downstairs to open presents until
- 15:33Speaker 9: Elvis Presley's CD started playing. Then they could come down.
- 15:39Speaker 10: They were really good at it.
- 15:40Speaker 15: They stayed upstairs.
- 15:42Speaker 13: Until they heard that song.
- 15:45Speaker 8: A little blue Christmas without you.
- 15:47Speaker 9: Exactly.
- 15:50Speaker 2: So that's good.
- 15:51Speaker 9: They know when they hear that song.
- 15:52Speaker 6: Oh, my God, that song.
- 15:54Speaker 1: Thanks, Dee.
- 15:55Speaker 3: By the way, we're going to play Minute to Win It.
- 15:58Speaker 3: We need a contestant.
- 16:00Speaker 2: 877-937-1047.
- 16:01Speaker 3: You're playing for $ 1, 000 at Pat Hickey's Money. I got
- 16:03Speaker 3: a text from a friend of mine in San Diego
- 16:05Speaker 3: last night. He said, Get ready. Big storm coming your
- 16:09Speaker 3: way tonight is what he said, right? Friday, we were
- 16:12Speaker 3: doing a show. Rich goes, big storm coming this weekend.
- 16:15Speaker 3: And I was like, where do you see that?
- 16:16Speaker 1: You go on TV.
- 16:17Speaker 3: I go, my phone says there's no big storm.
- 16:19Speaker 1: Rich goes, big storm coming. You guys remember that?
- 16:21Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 16:22Speaker 1: No storm came to me. No storm. My friend said
- 16:24Speaker 1: it last night. No storm. Then I looked on my
- 16:26Speaker 1: phone and it said the storm's coming today.
- 16:29Speaker 8: We had storms last night.
- 16:31Speaker 1: But was it bad, bad, bad? It was big.
- 16:33Speaker 6: It was pretty big.
- 16:33Speaker 8: Blew over trash. I got trees down all over my neighborhood.
- 16:36Speaker 1: Get out of here.
- 16:37Speaker 3: I haven't seen on TV anything about a storm.
- 16:40Speaker 8: It's probably flooded in a lot of places.
- 16:42Speaker 10: It's the trees that always come down that don't look like...
- 16:44Speaker 10: I don't know what's up with those green trees. It's
- 16:46Speaker 10: like the twig ones. Yeah, they don't stay up very well.
- 16:49Speaker 6: I actually got caught in that rainstorm. I walked outside
- 16:51Speaker 6: for like... Maybe a minute, and I walked back in,
- 16:53Speaker 6: and I was drenched. I had to change my pajamas
- 16:55Speaker 6: and everything.
- 16:55Speaker 5: And then you had the flash flood at the Grand Canyon,
- 16:57Speaker 5: which killed someone, right? And now they've got 15 people
- 16:59Speaker 5: more missing, 60 were taken.
- 17:01Speaker 3: To the hospital.
- 17:01Speaker 12: How does that happen?
- 17:02Speaker 10: Where does that water come from? I had a big
- 17:03Speaker 10: storm Saturday night, too. Friday night, I did not, but Saturday.
- 17:07Speaker 1: My neighborhood has that Green Lantern shield.
- 17:10Speaker 5: It is unpredictable, though, because it was like each night,
- 17:12Speaker 5: Friday night, it was coming. Saturday night, like my son's
- 17:15Speaker 5: baseball practice got canceled because it was possibly going to
- 17:17Speaker 5: get rained out, and then it didn't storm until last night.
- 17:21Speaker 5: It's like I used to never know with that weather.
- 17:23Speaker 3: But what happened to the Grand Canyon? Like, where does
- 17:24Speaker 3: that water come from? How does it all of a
- 17:26Speaker 3: sudden just start coming from somewhere?
- 17:27Speaker 10: Well, when it rains super, super fast, you know, it's
- 17:29Speaker 10: like a flash flood. It doesn't have any, the ground
- 17:32Speaker 10: can't absorb it all. So it just rolls really quick
- 17:34Speaker 10: and it got real bad in the Grand Canyon.
- 17:36Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 17:36Speaker 5: I think like all the, all the overnight stays at
- 17:39Speaker 5: the Grand Canyon are closed indefinitely right now.
- 17:41Speaker 8: A lot of trails got wiped out too.
- 17:43Speaker 1: You guys hold on. Tiffany's or Hannah's been holding forever. Hi, Hannah.
- 17:47Speaker 17: Hi.
- 17:47Speaker 1: Sorry you've been holding for so long. That's okay.
- 17:51Speaker 2: What were you calling for?
- 17:53Speaker 17: In the Springfield Branson area. And I guess you guys
- 17:57Speaker 17: are on a different segment today.
- 17:59Speaker 1: Go ahead.
- 18:04Speaker 10: Sorry.
- 18:04Speaker 17: I heard that you guys were asking about like crazy
- 18:07Speaker 17: reasons why you've broken up with somebody out here.
- 18:11Speaker 1: Okay.
- 18:12Speaker 17: And one of the reasons that I broke up with
- 18:15Speaker 17: somebody super duper big red flag was he asked me
- 18:18Speaker 17: to marry him. about three months into our relationship.
- 18:21Speaker 6: They're like, I barely know you.
- 18:24Speaker 2: Is that, is that that soon?
- 18:28Speaker 10: Three months?
- 18:29Speaker 7: Really?
- 18:29Speaker 6: If you're together every day, but that's, I mean, that's quick.
- 18:34Speaker 6: How do you really, do you really know someone after
- 18:36Speaker 6: 90 days?
- 18:37Speaker 1: So did you say yes? Alcoholic? I did because Netflix documentary.
- 18:41Speaker 1: She said yes.
- 18:42Speaker 8: Because why?
- 18:49Speaker 17: I said yes because I didn't have anywhere else to live.
- 18:53Speaker 9: Oh.
- 18:54Speaker 17: And I wasn't going to live with somebody after telling
- 18:58Speaker 17: them no, that I'm not going to marry them.
- 19:01Speaker 1: So where were you living when he asked you out?
- 19:06Speaker 17: I was living with him because I had recently broken
- 19:10Speaker 17: up from a previous relationship, and I was living with
- 19:12Speaker 17: a girlfriend who ended up getting pregnant, and she was
- 19:15Speaker 17: moving in with her family, and I have no family
- 19:18Speaker 17: out here.
- 19:18Speaker 11: Wow.
- 19:19Speaker 17: I had nowhere to go.
- 19:20Speaker 1: Are you still with him?
- 19:23Speaker 10: No.
- 19:23Speaker 7: Oh, God, no.
- 19:24Speaker 8: That didn't work out.
- 19:26Speaker 7: No.
- 19:27Speaker 17: No, he was pretty psycho.
- 19:30Speaker 1: Well, thanks for sharing that, Hannah. Thanks for holding. Sorry
- 19:32Speaker 1: I had to hold so long.
- 19:34Speaker 17: No problem at all. You guys have a great day.
- 19:35Speaker 1: Thanks for listening.
