Congratulations. speaker-1: good job, man. It might be like an event type event coordinator or like food coordinator or something. I don't know. speaker-0: It's something to do with food, food and hospitality or something like that. She did agree to come on the show when we get the video. So she's gonna come in and tell us all about it. So congratulations, Carly. How was your weekend? speaker-1: It was so far magical. I got a chance to just relax, enjoy the weather, do a bit of kayaking, and again, still no beavers, which is pretty cool. I'm a little bit worried now though. I'm like, do they go extinct or what I don't know what's going on, man? Yes, yeah. speaker-0: Join their summer somewhere else, man. The water's too low. speaker-1: Yeah, it is it is really low. speaker-0: There's not too much well, hopefully we're supposed to be getting some pretty decent amount of rain today, so hopefully. It's not gonna put a dent in it, but at least get some water going. Actually draining right now. Is it? Yeah. speaker-1: yeah, it is. Good stuff. Drinking some beers, enjoying the you know, enjoying my weather of the time. Actually I was on the lake today, so like with that type of no sun and nice breeze was actually just really relaxing, dude. I was almost ready to just fall asleep out in the middle of the lake. And speaker-0: Nice. speaker-1: we got some more people listening to our podcast, which is cool, man. And you dropped some more episodes you know, ideas at work and put out some more stickers and people are listening, man. It's cool. speaker-0: Good. Good. I spent my weekend. My nephew dropped in on a surprise visit. yeah. He was supposed to be gone until next year, but he found out I guess he was supposed to be getting deployed somewhere and they cancelled it. And now he's up for a another spot. Yeah. I'm not gonna put too many details out there 'cause I don't know if it's class right or not. Being a United States military police officer, I know that it's all secret clearance stuff, so He was like, hey, can I come up for a weekend? How's it? Yeah, come on up. So him his girlfriend came up and they just left today. and did some work on the the set, man. We're grinding, we're almost there. speaker-1: We're get you almost g got you it cost you some flesh and blood today too though, man. It's like gee. speaker-0: Yeah, I had a grinder get away from me and kinda tear up my arm a little bit, but it'd be alright. Chicks dig scars. So speaker-1: I'll tell you one thing, the barbecue that you threw too, man, was like it was great. People, if if you would have seen like the stuff that Seamus got for the barbecue, was like steaks, chicken, salads, pasta salad, macaroni salad, shrimps the size of freaking bananas. I was go, I was Herbie was extremely happy. speaker-0: Yeah, yeah. He wanted to we were talking and I haven't had anybody over this year. Yeah. got that beautiful ass pool in my backyard and everything. So I just kinda told him, I like, Yeah, why don't you tell your dad to come over? So his dad, his dad's I don't know if they're married or if they're just together. Yeah. But his girlfriend, And then Kevin and his girlfriend and I invited you. Yeah. And then that guy Matt was there. Yeah. Kevin's best friend. So yeah, we all got to sit around and drink some beer, eat some good food. And it was nice just to get out and get away from everything for a minute. speaker-1: It so good I ate that goddamn steak with my hands. I mean, there was knives and forks, and I was just like grabbed it by the bone, like speaker-0: Yeah, my nephew's like that's I was like because he was worried that the steaks weren't gonna be done right and I was just like, Yeah, I think they're done right. He's like they must have been because Herbie didn't even use a fork and he just picked that thing up and just ate it. I feel bad. speaker-1: 'Cause like if you think about it, like everyone's at the table like using knives and forks, it's like that that you know, the the shaking stuff, it's like I was just like, fuck that, just grab that speaker-0: Well that's what I told him. I said, you know, it was it's kind of logistically it was better off because like you said that it's a patio table. So it's I said if he'd have started eating potato salad, macaroni salad with his hands, then I would have said speaker-1: Seemed like yo man just really good potato sal. But it was nice, man. It was just like nice, nice weather and it was nice to be able to relax and just add a nice food coma afterwards, man. So it was just good to see everybody. speaker-0: You know what else was good this weekend too? I got to do what preseason football is here, brother. I got to watch the bur I mean, that game was absolutely I a lot of people say I I'm a huge football guy. Yeah. So I don't just watch for, you know, Jalen's not playing or I'm not gonna watch. Yeah. I just watch because I love football. Yeah. But it was it was a tough one to watch yesterday, man, against the Ravens. But it was good, man. It was good to s actually see live football being played. Yeah. And especially when it's your team. yeah. So but like I said, I watched as much as I could, like every preseason game. speaker-1: Like now it's the if it's not your team, do you do you still like to watch football or is it speaker-0: yeah, that's what was just saying. Because I I watch college football too. So it's it's good to see where all these kids know where they got drafted. And everybody knows where the first and second round guys go. But I I'll tell you where a fifth round guy from Detroit's at or you know, that kind of deal. So I watch football just in general. I watch a UFL, Canadian football, arena football. Yeah. Like I watch it all. speaker-1: I used to like I used to go to the World League games back in the day too, man. speaker-0: That would have been cool. I never got a chance to do that. I did go to an XFL, the New York, New Jersey Hitmans game. speaker-1: I still have their hat. speaker-0: Yeah, have some of their stuff around here. They were actually corny my brother for a like when the league first started, 'cause my brother was really good in high school. Yeah. he ended up falling in love, getting married, joined the army and the rest is history. Yeah. he probably could have gone to college and played ball. But he has no regrets. But when he was home, like after he got out, you know, he law enforce state law enforcement too. I guess when they were putting it together, they somebody sent him a letter for like an open tryout kind of deal and stuff. speaker-1: That's cool. speaker-0: I think I don't know if he went to try out or whatever, but they gave us like all kinds of free merchandise and shit. So I still have some of it. That's cool. So but yeah, I I got to go to one of those games. I went to, you know, the Philadelphia Soul, they used to give out free tickets and shit. We've gone to a couple of those. But yeah, man, nothing beats football, especially NFL football. Yeah, it's a lot of time of year, man. So and I know this is a podcast divide it. yeah. Because you're a Giants fan? Yeah. I did see your boy get lit up. speaker-1: I know, dude. He wasn't even freaking Tracy. I don't know what the hell he was doing trying to block, dude. Yeah. Like speaker-0: That's a Dart took one right to the chest. speaker-1: right away, dude. I was like, what the hell? Tracy could not even frickin' block. And it's the same guy that fumbled when I was in Munich to watch the game in overtime. We lost and they kicked the field goal. I was like, I was like, Tracy, what the fuck? And it was just like after he missed that freaking block, he just he just like waved his arms like like some some crappy attempt to frickin' block, man. So hopefully, you know, they made him walk home from the stadium. speaker-0: But I usually for some reason that always happens. Like every five years, like that it happens to the Giants. That one year, that preseason game where Eli got lit up and he was bleeding all over the place. I was like, holy smoke. speaker-1: Yeah. I think that was against the nine or something. Jacobs actually ran accidentally ran into him and split his head. speaker-0: Mm-hmm. But it was good to see that kid shake it off. Yeah. And throw a touchdown pass in the back of the end zone to Malachi Fields, that kid from Notre Dame. Yeah, that was a nice I got a feeling they're gonna be at least five hundred this year, man. speaker-1: At least man, I can't go through this like four and fifty seven lost season again, man. Even my buddies from over the UK, they're just like you know, they're all freaking disappointed. speaker-0: Defensively they'll be they'll be our defensively they weren't too bad last year. Well at Harbaugh they'd be better, but I mean now you have Yeah Who's the kid that got hurt? Wide receiver. speaker-1: They got Odell. the the dude Malachi from Notre Dame. And we also got Odell Becca back as the Malik Malik Neighbors. speaker-0: No, who's the other kid? Yeah, he's gonna be back, Scataboo. He played the other day. Yeah. You got Dart. You got I don't think he might not even make the team OBJ, but like if even if you put him in the slot with Malachi Fields and now you Scattaboo. I don't know who your tight end is. You guys are gonna have a decent speaker-1: So make the team on principle though, dude, 'cause some of those guys just gonna be like, pfft, get rid of speaker-0: Well, as you people can tell, today's episode is gonna be about the NFL. Yeah. speaker-1: Yeah. speaker-0: Why we like the teams that we do, who our favorite players were, and some of our favorite memories. it's like I said, man, I love football. Like I said, I could tell you Malachi Fields, Malik Neighbors, and I don't even like that team. Yeah. I get a feeling that the NFC East is gonna be a problem this year. speaker-1: We hope so 'cause you it used to be like that back in the day when we grew up as kids. You know, the the NFC East was like a huge strong ass division, man. speaker-0: Well let me ask you this, since you you know, you wouldn't bring up childhood, how did you get into I mean, obviously you're from the Bronx, but how did you become a Giants fan instead of a Jets fan or? speaker-1: basically it's by area really. pretty much the the first sport I really got started getting into as a kid was Yankees. So I used to watch it my grandfather and like I had an older cousin that was that liked to play baseball and I think like maybe like when I like around ten, 'cause like, you know, when I was younger and stuff, it was more like I like T V and all that stuff. I wasn't really into watching sports, but I watched a lot of stuff on, you know, regular T V and of course meeting the Bronx, you know, the Yankees were on, it was on the radio. I used to remember like, you know, I think I got more into sports coming into Jersey. Because like a lot of times we used to drive through the Bronx to get to Jersey. And I remember like, you know, we'd stop and get the old Hess trucks at the Hess stations. Mm-hmm. That used to be speaker-0: I just found a buttload of them, dude. yeah, dude. We got everyone from like nineteen seventy seven up until like two thousand nineteen. speaker-1: Those things are worth something, man. And you they used to have like the Hess Cups, they used to like the Hess Magnets. And they also have like the Hess with the it would actually like a little poster of like all the teams in the NFL. So of course, like, you know, like as a kid my favorite color was blue. So I always rooted for the Giants, but I didn't really get a chance to really, really watch too much until I got like maybe Hamilton area. Like when I when I came to Jersey. Okay. So it was just like Yankees, Giants, and you know, of course it was my favorite color was blue. You know, it was kinda weird that everyone's like, well, yeah, yeah, you must be from New York, so you must like that team. The Jets I didn't really like 'cause I'm yeah, I didn't like green. You know, and like that I thought their logo was kinda stupid, but I did like the Hess trucks themselves, so pretty much helped me. Like as a kid not really knowing anything about football, that that's how I got a chance to get into the Giants and then speaker-0: Well I'm assuming you're a Rangers and a Knicks fan too then, right? speaker-1: Knicks fan definitely. Rangers are okay. I wasn't really like huge into hockey until later on, like maybe early elementary school. And it was my first I I'm a Devils fan. Yeah. speaker-0: okay. speaker-1: And also like the Vancouver Canucks, but like I like the I like their jerseys, their logos back in the day and I liked a lot of the players. speaker-0: Well, who was your favorite who's like the first player you remember liking growing up as a kid? As a like anybody, it could be a giant or speaker-1: Dave Winfield, Ricky Henderson. Psst. I speaker-0: It's a football box. speaker-1: guess I know, but I'm sorry, Bob I that was that was the f that was the first one. But as as for football though, definitely Lawrence Taylor. Lawrence Taylor and Mark Bavaro were like my favorites. speaker-0: Okay. Yeah, they were good but when you liked Like in the eighty with Parcells and eighty like he took over what, eighty three? Yeah. And they really they won the Super Bowl three years later. Yeah. So they probably could have won it in eighty five if the Bears weren't so goddamn good. speaker-1: Yeah, they were really good too, man. And that but we we won in eighty six though. So that was awesome. So and then what like ninety one? Ninety one? Yeah, ninety one. speaker-0: It's it's like I said, I love football so much it was you know, Phil Sims, the running back was Gat was it Morris? What his name? Joe Morris and then McConkey. Who was the other wide receiver? Steve Baker. Brevaro. Yeah. I'm I mean I could just Steve Diossi. speaker-1: Yeah, Joe Morris. Yeah, Phil McConkey. Steven Baker. we also had Yeah Mark Bavarz is Bardoats. His son actually used to play for us too, man. He was he was like the snapper and stuff for us too. speaker-0: Yeah, defensively had Harry one of the best linebacking groups of all time. Yeah, Harry Carson, Reasons, Carl Banks, Lawrence Taylor. speaker-1: I met Carl Banks too when I was in London. It was really cool. But yeah, all those people, man, I was just like, it was fun. Cause like you like for that for speaker-0: I hated him. speaker-1: Well I think it got more into like when I got to high school 'cause that's when everyone was more into sports and everyone had like definitive teams. So I of course, me being a Giants fan, I was the outsider for like my high school because everyone else was Eagle fans and stuff, you know what I mean? speaker-0: Well not only that, but during what years did you go to high school? speaker-1: God. I think like eighty eight I graduated in ninety two. speaker-0: Right around like somewhere eighty nine, ninety is when like football and fashion started to collide a little bit. Yeah. And 'cause back in the day you would like wear an Eagle shirt. Yeah. Or like an Eagles jacket. But then that's when starter and the pullovers kicked off, the Zubas, them fucking zebra striped pants and shit. guys like Jim McMahon in eighty five really took fashion to a new level with all the Adidas stuff. Yeah. Yeah, the triple fat goose jackets. jerseys started becoming really prevalent instead of like just buying one off the rack, you can go get custom made. Yeah. And that's when, like you said, everybody. You knew who was being you know, I knew who your favorite team was because you rocking some cool giants. Or a half speaker-1: you know, it was just yeah, yeah, there was always like some stu you're right though. I that's a good point that like a lot of the fashion and everything like skyrocketed in there in early eighties, like early nineties. speaker-0: Well, I remember I used to collect football cards and in ninety one. Yeah. At the NFL did a a group c it was called Pro Line. Yeah. And it wasn't people on the football field, it was them wearing different kinds of clothes or styles And I was just like, Man, look at this Yeah. So yeah. And like I said, when all that stuff came out, I was like, I gotta have it. I gotta rep. Even though I well in ninety by then we were actually defensively, we were amazing. yeah. I was an Eagles fan. I was born and raised as an Eagles fan, I grew up in northeast Philly for a minute. Right. my brother, all my neighbors, you know, it's it's a Philly thing over there. like I said, my dad really didn't give a shit about sports like that. He was more of an auto sports guy, NASCAR, drag racing, so, you know, me and my mom, my brother always watched the games together. Or, you know, my grandfather would come over. And the first Eagle I remember really, really liking gonna have to go with probably like Seth Joyner. Yeah. Like like everybody like Reggie White or Jerome Brown. I yeah, I get it. Like Reggie was there in eighty four, eighty five. Yeah. But everybody liked Reggie. And I was in one of those guys that just picks somebody. I always like Seth Joyner, Wes Hopkins. I just I just kinda always just liked yeah. speaker-1: Join it was tough, man. speaker-0: I always like defensive football anyway. Yeah. Offense is for pretty boys and speaker-1: That's that's the one thing that was good for our division back in the day, man. Like you if you scored seventeen points, that's it. 'Cause the other score the other teams maybe scoring seven or three or six. speaker-0: If you won 10 and 6 in that division, it was before 17 games. If you went 10 and 6, you made the wild card because you were division champs because it was just so my god, it was so tough. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, for what, the beginning of the 90s? The first everybody in the East beat the Bills and their four Super Bowl losses besides us, besides the Eagles. Yeah. You guys did it, the Redskins did it, and the Cowboys did it twice. Yeah. So For those four or five years, everybody who won the Super Bowl came out of the NFC East. Yeah. speaker-1: They blew out a team that was actually you know, the Bills were just blowing everybody out. Like every year, like forty four to ten and they were just like just murdering Red Gun offense speaker-0: Because they had that they had yeah, the no-huddle offense and nobody could figure out, but Belichick did when he was the defensive coordinator in the with the Giants. Yep. That keep them off the field. Run the ball, run the clock, and keep their offense off the field. So and he put that blueprint together and nobody speaker-1: Still has like one of the longest NFL touchdown drives by Otis Anderson. speaker-0: Yeah. But like I said, it was just the NFC East was just so goddamn speaker-1: That's when we even had the Cardinals in our s in our freaking speaker-0: My God, I hate listen, let me tell you something about the Arizona Cardinals or the Phoenix Cardinals or at one point the St. Louis Cardinals. Every time we went to Arizona, we would whoop their ass. The Eagles would go in there and beat them 42-0, 35-3. But every time at the end of the year where we needed that game to get in the playoffs, Jake Plummer. speaker-1: Yeah. speaker-0: If he had the ball with two minutes left, I would just get up and walk out. And we could be up by ten. And people are like, Where are you going? I'm like, we lost this shit. They're like, We're up by ten with two minutes left. I'm like, we're gonna lose this game. We cannot beat the Cardinals in Philadelphia. I don't know what and he would be the quarterback when we played him in Arizona. We would fucking murder that. Yeah. Not in Philly though. Not in Philly. speaker-1: Actually totally for speaker-0: Even Boomer Sire, like Boomer Saiya when he was there for a minute. Yeah. He would just come to Philly and just whoop. I'm like, what is it about the Cardinals in Philadelphia? speaker-1: Well 'cause you know what I think like with that type of stuff, especially with those quarterbacks, that those defenses were were tough and tight. And like they had a quick release type of you know, offense. speaker-0: They had that that halfback, Larry Senters, man. that was one tough some bitch you could catch. Him and that big ass wide receiver that David Paul. Big ass dude, man. speaker-1: Boston. speaker-0: He was like AJ Brown and Terrell Owens before they even existed. That guy was a big ass dude. Yeah. But yeah, they were always a tough team, man. speaker-1: I think like a lot of that stuff actually exploded 'cause one it was always on T V and two, like you're right, you know, fashion came out a lot more and then not only that, video games were on there so you can actually watch football, play football with your friends, and then only that play football on the frickin' video games and so you know, so it's like it just caught us right at that right age, you know? speaker-0: Yeah. So like in the eighties is like I said, I was born in seventy seven. So by like eighty four, eighty-five, I really got into it. Yeah. And that was Randall's rookie rookie year. Reggie was there. They were kinda putting things together. eighty-six, you know, buddy Ryan was hired from Chicago after they won the Super Bowl. And that era of fo that speaker-1: That forty six defense. speaker-0: era of Eagles football was probably my and still my favorite to this day just because of speaker-1: Well not only that well but it's a gangrene defense too. speaker-0: Yeah, Bunny Ronnie just But it's like I said, I'm a huge defensive guy. I'm a huge, you know, I want to see snop bubbles, put it right in the middle of their chest, you know, make them think twice before coming around the middle. This is my house. You ain't coming in here putting up no points. Guys like Dick Buckis, Ray Lewis, you know, those dudes, those are the guys I Ronnie Lott, those are the guys I always vibed with. speaker-1: Ronnie Lott would actually literally knock himself out and you out and get back on the speaker-0: He ripped a finger off hitting somebody. He got it stuck in their faceman. He hit him so violently he got his finger stuck in the faceman, then yanked it back out and ripped half his finger off. speaker-1: I think like some of those the those games back in the day you literally would see like just blood everywhere, man. speaker-0: like said, I was such a geek growing up as a kid. NFL films had all them old videotapes and stuff like that. And they'd be in the Kmart bargain bin and I would buy it. And like watching guys like Deacon Jones. yeah. Who and I quote when they asked him what is he hate like, what do you love about football? He goes, What I love about football is I hate everything on Sundays. I hate the American F I hate my mother. I hate Darsey. I hate everybody. I I Quarterbacks I can't stand. He was like, I love leveling a quarterback. He was just like, dude, if I could, I would put a quarterback in a potato sack and beat it with a baseball bat. He was like, Man, I can't. And then guys like Mike Curtis, the little ass dude from Indianapolis, the linebacker who come up and whack you, or Pat Fisher, who epic, epic battles with Harold Carmichael, because he was only like five foot eight. Harold Carmichael was like six foot eight. Like there was like a foot difference. And those guys just go back and forth. So yeah, man, I just love watching those as a kid. But Buddy like Buddy Ball to me was just absolutely insane. I mean, when he was the coach, it was like Veterans Stadium was a Roman Coliseum. And like when you were walking through those parking lots a kid, man, you were like, Holy shit, man, this looks like a fucking scene from Escape from New York. Yeah. There was shit burning, people chanting stuff and blah blah blah. There'd be a fight in a corner and stuff and people just like rah speaker-1: Ocean of people, dude. It's fantastic. that's that's another great aspect that I love about going to football games is the tailgate. That's it's a huge thing. speaker-0: I'm talking like in the late eighties during buddy. Like if you were you had to wear Eagles Green down there. if you were wearing opposing team shit, man, you were getting shit thrown at you And it was kinda ridiculous. Like I would never I never taken part in any of that or but man, it was like I said, Veterans Stadium was a tough place to play. And then They fired him for Rich Co and now we'll start talking about the nineties. yeah. But like Rich Codight came in and it all just went to shit. And free agency started. Reggie he won his lawsuit with the NFL and free agency started and those guys, you know, Seth left and Clyde Simmons left and Jerome had passed away and Reggie left and like and then up until ninety-eight, like that whole nineties era Eagles football just kind of sucked. Besides that fourth and one where we stopped Dallas. Twenty speaker-1: Yeah. You guys went through a lot of coaches and stuff. that's right, yeah. speaker-0: Yeah. speaker-1: Yeah, I remember that. speaker-0: So speaker-1: That's that's that's another thing that used to get us hyped up about that too, because not only you get to watch football, but NFL films did such a great job with like, you know, the NFL specials on TV and it give you like the old history about stuff or certain teams on receivers. They speaker-0: Well that's speaker-1: even have remember they used to have like the little the VHSs of the NFL follies and stuff like that? speaker-0: I have NFL I have NFL rock still. One it was speaker-1: Yeah, that stuff is great. speaker-0: like an hour and twenty minutes of just nothing but music with the NFL in the background stuff. It was fucking amazing. speaker-1: Like what is it, the sports like a sports illustrator would like the the big the NFL phone and the the football phone and all speaker-0: I saw the I've the Kelly Green Eagles one somewhere here. Got that one out speaker-1: That's cool. So there was music videos. It was just like it was just saturated. So even if you didn't really like football, you it was it was Yeah, it was everywhere. And speaker-0: It was in your face. speaker-1: so were those Zubra zebra, Zuba pants. speaker-0: Like everybody knew how to do the icky shuffle. Yeah. And people were like, I don't even know who this dude is, but I'm doing it. But yeah, in the early nineties, we were pretty good, and then it all kind of fell apart. You guys had won the Super Bowl in 91. Yeah. like I said, and that's when you guys everybody was beating Buffalo. I think you guys won it what 1990, 91 was the Redskins, 92 and 93 were the Cowboys. And then the Cowboys beat Pittsburgh to Netshare or something like that. So I mean like our division was just speaker-1: Dallas was on a run for a while, man. And that's when the triple fat gooses for Dallas Cowboy fans was like rampant in speaker-0: I'll tell you what, man, during the nineties, if in my school, it was not but cowboy and Chicago Bull stuff. speaker-1: Right? That it was all front runner bullshit, man. I'm like, I hate people like that. speaker-0: I'm walking around wearing a Clarence Weatherspoon Sixers jersey People speaker-1: Yeah. speaker-0: are like, Who the fuck is that? speaker-1: That's why I think it wa I think it was easier for me to stick to my guns 'cause like my team is everyone's like talking shit about the team. But it was also always hard for me to find memorabilia for my teams in South Jersey. So I really like, you know, used to cling into it. So when I finally got to a Giants game, it was actually after After the Super Bowl. And actually we played the Eagles. Jim McMahon was the quarterback. We hit him. He had another concussion and Kemp came in and we still lost the game. But I was like, son of a bitch. But it was it was a great day though. And I think when I got in there, I got out into the stadium, the original Giants Stadium, it was like when I saw the field, man, it was like the brightest green and like the brightest red and blue, and it said Giants in the end zone, dude. I was like, my god. Of course I have my triple goose jacket, Giants jacket and my freaking hat. This is like the ones where like, you know, they had like a bunch of like the big pockets and stuff and like the the the collar you can unzip it and there was speaker-0: The hood with the helmet. speaker-1: like I still got that thing man. speaker-0: Yeah, I used to I remember the first time I walked into Veteran Stadium, I was just like, man, this looks great, but why does it smell like hot dog water and piss? speaker-1: Or just you know, takes for granted the American tailgate. 'Cause having like friends that are from you know, over overseas, there's like an American tailgate is nothing. Like it's so much better compared to what they do in Europe 'cause they that you know, they really have areas to tailgate. speaker-0: Well they're just so used to the soccer aspect of it where they all meet at the pub and they get fucking loaded and then they walk to the stadium. Yeah. Like there's no tailgating and stuff. speaker-1: potions and people barbecuing 'cause like when I first got to London I was like, all right man, we're gonna go and you know, we'll go to like a local butcher shop, we'll get some sausages and they're like, dude, we don't do that here. I'm like, what? Like, what do you mean no tailgates? You know, but yeah, that's like tailgating is like a huge, huge thing for me, man. I love it. speaker-0: Yeah, it's pretty cool. It's like I said, I haven't been to an Eagles game and I couldn't remember. 'cause I mean with technology nowadays and high def and all that shit and I just watch it on the couch. Yeah. But when we used to go down there, we you know, like I said, set up a table. And if we didn't feel like cooking, Wawa does like the catering thing. You used to do the two foot hoagies, they don't do that anymore. But we grab one of those or something like that and everybody just sit around, drink a couple of beers before we go on the game. I mean but Well you have to do that now because what is it like fifteen dollars for a beer? Yeah. It's kinda ridiculous. speaker-1: Plus they stopped doing it like, you know, they stopped serving it like at halftime. speaker-0: Yeah. speaker-1: So it's like, you know, which a in a way is kinda good. Sometimes you just see people come speaker-0: I'll you what an Eagles game. I was gonna say, because if it's a we went down there, one of the last times I went was a Monday night game against the Cowboys. And that game kicked off at eight o'clock and they were opening up the parking lot like 10 in the morning. yeah. And why people were in line waiting, they got there at six in the morning. So all the RVs are lined up on Patterson Avenue and they've been drinking since six in the morning. So those guys have been drinking for like 14 hours straight. speaker-1: Yeah, yeah. That's why it's like, my God, man. It's just it's it's a whole event too, dude. That that that's the one thing I I I love about the tailgates because there's so much like logistic wise that you have to go out and get all this stuff. And you know, you get like either a grill, like even like the, you know, your favorite sports team. They have like, you know, the tents, the tables, your freaking coolers, the freaking like everything, man. It's just it's just great. Yeah. Just like oceans and oceans. I mean, it's thousands and thousands of people. Yeah. speaker-0: One year we got season tickets in one year. We bought them off a a buddy of mine who had a business that they usually use them for clients and stuff, but he was like, I'm not gonna do that this year. So you guys want to buy them some me? And Bobby bought them. Yeah. So I went out and bought like a piece of shit, RV, and like we tailgated every Eagles game and stuff. And it was cool. But it got to the point where Bobby would invite a friend or two and I would invite a friend or two. And then the next time they told one of their friends about so by the end of the year there was like a hundred and fifty people at our t and like in my cause I had the direct T V set up and I had like three or four TVs inside so you can check the games out and all. there was like a hundred and eighty to two hundred people. Like Dawkins came back that year. that's right, yeah. With Denver. And that was that's when I was like, I'm not doing this shit anymore. Because like I said, I had like two hundred people around my R V and I didn't know and Bobby's like, Well, I know this guy, I knew this is and I'm like, Yeah, but I can't get my fucking R V, dude. So yeah, I was kinda done with it after that. speaker-1: Yeah, plus not only that you wanted to be there to see like a Dawkins run out in the field too. speaker-0: yeah, yeah. Well I got to see I I there was nothing stopping that. That's probably one of my that's probably my favorite eagle of all time. But yeah, I was just kinda done. But the next couple of years I started going like a single game here and there and stuff. I found out that there's a section for law enforcement. Yeah. Whether you're from Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware and stuff like that, and you don't have to pay for parking. Really? Show your badge and stuff. And everybody in that section. I thought I was like, all right, this is gonna be calmer. Cause you you have people from the prosecutor Philadelphia prosecutors off Philadelphia cops, Pennsylvania State Police and Jersey State Police, like New Jersey cops. I was like, man, this is gonna be nice. A bunch of cops have man there or bigger meatheads than the motherfuckers. I'm like Yeah. So I was speaker-1: Man. speaker-0: just kinda like but I mean I would always park over there and I know a couple guys that are always down there. Yeah. but yeah, I haven't been in years, man. So I it's like I said I enjoy watching it at home. yeah. Because I'm such a nerd. Yeah. Like I love watching the formations and then like most of the time I could okay, they're you know, this is what they're gonna do. They're running trips or you know, now they're gonna do a play action pass or yeah. So but yeah. And I'll tell you what, man, for years you didn't have to deal with this. For years I had to listen to you guys and Eagles never win a Super Bowl. Or they they do that thing with the plastic on the cigarette pack and they take it off and they're like, What's that? The Eagles, Eagles showed the Super Bowl case. Yeah. And I thought speaker-1: Yeah. speaker-0: Andy Reid, for all them years, I was like, man, he's finally gonna get us through it. And then we became the Buffalo Bills in the early two thousands and just couldn't couldn't fucking get to the Super Bowl. And then when we got there, we just speaker-1: Yeah. speaker-0: for years I had to deal with that. And I never thought I'll never forget this. I was in Las Vegas, the beginning of the 2016 to 2017 season when we finally won it. Yeah. And I was talking to a buddy of mine. We were in the military together, and I looked over and there was a sports book right there. And the Eagles were like, that's when Doug Peterson came out and said, I think this team's better than the team in Green Bay I was on that won the Super Bowl. And everybody's like, what the fuck? And even I said that like, what is this guy smoking? Crack? So we were sitting there, I think I forget what their odds were, dude, but I was like, I got a hundred bucks, man. I should probably just put it on. I've never been like the first time in Vegas, I've never bet. It was before betting was prevalent in Jersey. I was like, Man, I should put like a hundred bucks. And my buddy was like, dude, the Uber's And was like, Yeah, I'll get it before I leave. I never did. Them fuckers won the Super Bowl that year. Bastards. speaker-1: I think you guys made a deal with the devil, man, because every time ever since you guys won that, the whole world got weird, man. It's like COVID. speaker-0: You guys had no listen, besides besides speaker-1: Yeah. speaker-0: you guys beating them all the time, the rest of the world was like, Fuck the Patriots. yeah. We hate the Eagles, but fuck the Patriots and kill them. speaker-1: Yeah, because they were that team that just like was winning all the time. And they they were actually doing it kind of smart too, because like Brady, if you really notice, Bra Brady didn't really not too many in those Super Bowls would go to a like a touchdown winning drive. He would do the drive, but then like Vinateri was actually like the all-time MVP man because that dude kick a field goal, kick it from the frickin' parking lot, and hit it, and you know, win the Super Bowl. Well speaker-0: Yeah, it's like I said, I could not speaker-1: he managed to get speaker-0: Especially after he beat us in four. yeah. And I think they cheated. I think they checked out our videos and all that stuff. But yeah, the world be careful what you wish for. Yeah. And when we won that first championship, man, it was I called my mom. We were both in tears. my grandfather was at the house, my mom, 'cause I watched it with my buddies, which was probably don't get me wrong, I love those guys, but I probably should have watched it with my mom and my grandpa. Yeah, we were all in tears. a couple of us got in cars and we went down to Broad Street in Philadelphia. And it was awesome, man. It was that was that was the one day that there was no race, gender, color, religion. Yeah, as long as you know, cats speaker-1: Green. speaker-0: and dogs were out in the street, like hugging and stuff, and bloods crips, and you know, cops and criminals. It was crazy. speaker-1: Crackheads hugging dip business. speaker-0: Yeah, well we went to the parade, man. I think and this is a true statement today. And I know everybody's you guys do snowballs at Santa Claus and some kid ate a mound of horse manure or something like that at the parade or yeah, yeah. Jesus. But I mean, out of the four million, they said I I think it was estimated like three point eight to four million people were at that first parade in twenty seventeen. Yeah. Only like eight people got arrested. Now That's saying something for the city of Philadelphia. Like speaker-1: I was still thinking maybe even the cops were partying too much, they just didn't care. Murders speaker-0: Well it's like I said, we were speaker-1: and shit. They're like, well speaker-0: We got down there on the bowl. I got down there at like five thirty in the morning and we had like front row. Right on Broad Street. And everybody there was just so like the parade didn't start till one o'clock. So we were there for like six, seven hours just waiting. Yeah. And people were cool, nobody was pushing, shoving, If a little kid wanted to get up on somebody's shoulders and another guy was getting blocked, it was just like, hey man, it's cool. Don't worry about it. It was it was just such a weird good feeling in Philadelphia. Because I had been down there for the the Phillies in 08. Yeah. and that was cool too. I don't think baseball fans don't get nuts like that. But like Eagles fans, I was just like, man, this is this could go bad. Yeah. And it didn't. Like it was just an amaz I don't know about the I didn't go to the second one. Because once I've been to one, it's I'm good. but yeah it was a great feeling man to finally be in the and I walked and told everybody, Yeah, we in the club now. Y'all fucked up. Y'all let us in the building. So Yeah. And I never thought in a million years we'd rip another one off that quick. speaker-1: God damn it. For me, the whole universe collapsed. I was like, Jesus Christ. But I actually I remember the one year actually when the Giants beat Buffalo, I actually hosted a Super Bowl party at my house for it was during high school. And it was like my girlfriend and all my buddies are all Eagle fans, dude. And they all got dropped off in my house. We watched in my room, and it was just like they were talking so much shit, and then freaking finally won, and then I was so happy, but then they're like, All right, we need a ride home. So I was like, my dad had to like put everywhere. in the back of the truck and drop them all off. I'm like, you guys don't even have a freaking ride. But I didn't care. I was so happy with that stuff. And that's when I can actually, you know, wear my My Giants stuff without, you know, really anyone really you can't like after you win and you wear your stuff and they knew that you've been a longtime fan, they they don't really say much. They just they just stay quiet. So like d during that year it was like the Giants and Forty Niners were going at it, especially if you know, during the regular season game, which was still probably one of the best games I ever seen was like even though we lost it was the seven to three game where like Ronnie Lott and Phil Simmons got ready to do some knuckle dusting. And my buddy in high school was a huge Niners fan. So we would just go back and forth every morning. 'Cause you when you're hanging out in high school, it's like where like speaker-0: No, no doubt. speaker-1: school starts, everyone, you know, the buses are coming in, everyone's hanging out in the hallways and all that crap. And it was just it was just nice to be able to rub it in his face for a little bit. speaker-0: Well, like I said, I'm kinda glad. It was great watch like I said, buddy ball was great. That was gr good Eagles football. Yeah. if Gruden would have stayed 'cause he was the offensive coordinator, yeah, I think we'd have ripped off and Randall wouldn't have got hurt that year. I think they would have probably pushed for a Super Bowl. Yeah. And then I said, you know, the nineties were a mess until Andy got here and then going through the whole Andy Reid thing, almost getting there, and then getting there and just still not winning and stuff. And when we finally won it, like I was forty years old. Yeah. And after all that bullshit I watched and dealt with and all the, you know, the Giants fans giving me shit and then all them jerk off cowboy fans in the nineties who lived like right in my neighborhood. Like speaker-1: Yeah, like where did you come from? speaker-0: if anything, be a Giants fan. But Like listening to all that shit was fine. It was so worth it, you know, when they finally won it that I was kinda glad that maybe we it we it did take that long to get it. It sucks that a lot of people had passed away and didn't get a chance to see it. But I was lucky 'cause my mom got to see it before she went. My grandfather got to see it. I mean, he got to see it in nineteen sixty NFL championship. I mean the Super Bowl is different. He got to see it before he went. a couple of my friends who have passed since got to see it. So yeah, it was It's like I said, man, I just fucking love everything about football. I used to love as a kid, like one of the first days of practice, when you first get your pads and stuff like that, and you walk out there and like just that that summer heat and you smell that fresh cut glass. And when you put that helmet on, you smell that helmet and all that shit. And you're just like, Yeah, man. speaker-1: Like putting on your battle armor and stuff, dude. speaker-0: Yeah. Just sucks. I wasn't all that great at it. No, I was I was okay. I mean I I knew I was never going pro or any of that stuff or going to college, but I was better at hockey than I was yeah at football just because of my size. Yeah. So I wasn't fast enough to be a defensive back and I wasn't big enough to be a linebacker or a defensive lineman. So but yeah, it was fun to play and all that stuff. And so I said, man, there's nothing better than just football. Especially And then you got them Thanksgiving Day games. yeah. Now they're doing the Christmas Day games and all that stuff. I don't I don't agree with taking people away from their families on Christmas, but Thanksgiving games are always the best, man. speaker-1: Ever everyone's home just you know, with the six six six legged turkeys and stuff. speaker-0: The turduckens. Yeah. We used to love that on Madden too. speaker-1: Breaking out the hell is the other thing? Like just like all the parties and just even like for for us like back in the day when either our teams weren't doing well or wasn't even in the Super Bowl. There was always a s there's always a Super Bowl party. So like you can actually sit back and enjoy a game and not really be too much invested, you know, for the support of your team. But you still had a good time to be able to like do like the whole thing, like, you know, almost like either you ta tailgate it, you're pounding beers, you're getting all comfortable, you're watching football and just wanna see it like basically like it gets to the point where you're like, I don't really care who wins, I just wanna see a good game. speaker-0: Yeah, that's what like last year was so blah. Even a commercial sucked. Yeah. speaker-1: I think that for the past like maybe like a like I would say at least a solid two two or three years commercials weren't been that great. Like the whole thing hasn't been that great. speaker-0: Well this year we got lucky because they pushed it to Valentine's Day, which is Sunday, and the next day's President's Day, so everybody should be off of work this year. speaker-1: Except Herbie, probably. speaker-0: Yeah. First responders and what do they call them? necessary personnel or whatever. Yeah. But essential personnel. speaker-1: Yeah. speaker-0: my god. Damn, Seamus hasn't been that long. I used to be essential personnel. speaker-1: Just stay the hell home and don't have to go to frickin' hospital. speaker-0: But yeah, I think you guys are gonna be better this year. speaker-1: I hope so man, 'cause I'm you know, even like well actually, you know what speaking about that, what what's some of your favorite memories or f like either favorite travel memories for a game or speaker-0: Going to Green Bay was cool. Yeah. I I took Bobby with me. speaker-1: What was their tailgates and stadium like? speaker-0: The whole fucking town. Like, I don't know if you know about Green Bay, dude. Green Bay is like if you took a pro football team and put it in the middle of Vincent Town. Yeah. there's only like a hundred thousand people there. And on game day, ninety thousand of them have to game. yeah. The other ten grand are working the game. Yeah. Or EMS or gas that attendance. yeah. the whole town is one big tailgate. Their parking lot backs up to a row of homes that like their backyard's right butts right up to the it's it's absolutely amazing. me being a big football nerd, I went to do the tour and I Bobby was like, I don't know. I was like, just go, dude. And they actually took us up underneath 'cause Lambeau Field has been built over a couple of times. Yeah. But like they took us underneath to like the original stadium, like the original locker rooms, all that stuff. that's cool. And it used to be a brick walkway. That used to go to the field. They since concreted it, but just like the brickyard in Indianapolis, they left like five rows of the original bricks there. Yeah. That people still walk over. And like I s as a tour guy was talking, they were taking you up to the field to show you how the Packers come out. And back in the day, both locker rooms would empty out up into that. So like I had just stopped and this one lady came over and she's like, Are you all right, sir? And I was just like, Do you know how many people have walked over these bricks? Yeah. And like she kinda looked, I'm like, dude, Walter I let's just go with the Bears. Yeah. Dick Buckis, Walter Payton, you know Mike Singletary, Gail Sayers, the Vikings. Yeah. The purple people eaters walked over there. Herschel Walker when he played for Walter. Yeah, Tarkinton. Yeah. You know, Robert Smith. You know, those gu and Detroit Barry Sanders went up through. Yeah, I mean like and that's just in this Megatron. Yeah. And you're and she just kinda looked at me, she's just like, Well, you really like football, don't you? I said, You have no idea. I said, Now let's talk about the Packers. She had Nitsky, Boyd, Bart Starr, Brett Favre, like Sterling Sharp, like Lombardy. Lombardi. Yeah. I'm like speaker-1: Sweet. speaker-0: And like it took me a minute. I was just kinda like I almost like, you know Yeah. speaker-1: Yeah. speaker-0: So I was and that's the kind of guy I am. It was great and if they always said, you know, the Hall of Fame is yeah, NFL Heaven, well That's the case in Green Bay is a cathedral. Yeah. So that whole trip was just absolutely me. The people were so nice. Yeah. everybody walks to the game in Green Bay, nobody drives. Yeah. Like it's it's such a great feeling. So if you get a chance, if the Giants ever play there, yeah, get there before October. Yeah. yeah. Because the Eagles played that year in September. So I was like, yes, I'm not going there to freeze my ass off. So the weather was still nice. If you get a chance, man, go. Yeah. I tell everybody to go, man. It's incredible. Yeah. So what about you? speaker-1: For me, like the European trips were a lot of fun for me, man. Because like not only that, I've I finally like got to be I was at the taping of the Eli Manning show. So I was in there. I got his autograph, got like a lot of people's autographs, Victor Cruz, frickin' Carl Banks. We were part of the show. We got like the gift back. We won the game. It was just like a great trip. I met my my buddies over there from from England, are huge Giant fans, and it was just it was just a really great time. And you know, even after the game, the victory thing, we went to the pubs and we're like Singing songs. We're singing like Oasis. It was just like hundreds of people in bars just like partying and then singing and swaying. It just like a great, great freaking time, man. It was just like with with all my buddies. And it was just like it was it was a really I don't know, just like a like an awesome atmosphere. You know what I mean? Cause not only that you're getting to do it like in a different place. You're going to another country, man. So like, you know, the the bar that we went to was like dr right down the street from Trafalgar Square. We got to see Big Ben. like all that stuff, man. It was just Yeah, you know, the European games, my tailgating with my friends, because I was actually able to get to, you know, do more tailgating after a while. you know, building you know, my buddy started the fan club that we go to. We go to the Piccolo Inn to watch the game. so we've been doing that for frickin' years. got to be on T V when we got interviewed after we beat the Patriots the first time. was on the courier post. On the front page. That was cool. Yeah. It was just like a lot of great memories, man. I even like the one time like me and my buddy J B high school, I went into my old car and we went to a preseason Giants Jets game, dude, and we just brought like a case of beer and a big bucket of freaking KFC fried chicken, dude. And it was just like it w it was great though, man. And just like seeing but like another memory is fun to go to my J my buddy J B's house when we got to see Lawrence Taylor and Phil Sims get their numbers retired and it was just you know, a lot of these great memories and just fun parties, man. Yeah? speaker-0: Was at the fourth and 26th game. Yeah, that was party body food. That was one I was telling you about when my buddy walked up to the security guard. She was Let's go first. And he was she was Give me a high five. He's like, Fuck that, bitch. Give me your tongue. And like sucked face with this 350-pound black security hard lady. And I was Yeah, like the whole crowd went nuts. We were like, I was so rocked walking in. Golly, but I'll tell you what, man. When Freddie Mitchell caught that ball fourth and 27, I had never heard. A whole stadium that quiet. He caught it and land it and everybody's like. And when the ref put his hand up first down, we were like, Yeah. And I was like, we're gonna win this game. Cause we were losing a whole game. Yeah. and that was a playoff game. So that was that was a pretty cool moment, man. But like you said, there's so many great memories I have. Like I said, watching the Super Bowl, my buddies, guys that You know, we watched every game together and all that stuff and to finally watch it with them and win. And guys were crying and shit. speaker-1: It's emotional, man. speaker-0: Yeah. So I mean, it's like I said, it's long hard road, but we finally got it after speaker-1: Yeah man. speaker-0: after a while. So let's do this. Let's give me your it doesn't have to be a top five, but give me five of your favorite. It could let's do Giants and Eagles. No, speaker-1: favorite like games between giants and speaker-0: no. Just players. Players that you watched as a kid. Like d five of your favorite Giants. speaker-1: Definitely Lawrence Taylor, Mark Bavaro, David Meggett. sorry. I could just like speaker-0: Well we all know who Lawrence Taylor is a Mark Moore, he's a tight end. Meggett played speaker-1: maybe it was a running back and also punt returner. let me see. speaker-0: I mean I know who he is, but some of our four listeners might not know. speaker-1: Especially giant stuff to like, who cares? They might fast forward through that section of Herbie's talking about. speaker-0: To love mad newscom, that little meggot. speaker-1: who else? Phil Sims, I really liked him. Eli Manning, and I still still to this day, Jeremy Shockey, man. That dude just like and Victor Cruz. Jeremy speaker-0: He's the epitome of cool. speaker-1: Shockey is just like, my god, dude. speaker-0: I read an article on in Sports Illustrated when he was coming out of college. I I first of all I hate him 'cause he went to Miami. I'm a huge Florida State guy. Yeah. but he was just like, I wanted to get to the NFL so bad. He was like, I'd come home drunk. He was like, I he's like, I went to classes, but I just did enough to play football. He was like, I would come home drunk, like at three o'clock in the morning from the clubs and blah blah blah. It just do three hundred push ups 'cause I wanted to get into football that bad. And I was like, who the hell does three hundred push ups after been drinking all night? speaker-1: Yeah. speaker-0: And then like, I don't know if you remember this, his first preseason game. He caught that pass and turned upfield and trucked that dude. Yeah. And I thought to myself, shit man, this guy's gonna be a problem for the Eagles, man. But but like speaker-1: I'm so hyped up with Seahorn too. I gotta say honorable mention definitely Jason Seahorn. I'm sorry, go ahead. speaker-0: I only like him because of Andy Harmon. Fuck Jason Seahorn. I respect no matter what the uniform is, if you can ball, I respect it. yeah, definitely. That guy could play. my favorite Eagle of all time's gotta be Brian Dawkins, obviously. huge Dalk fan. obviously Reggie. Let's see. Eric Allen, amazing corner, doesn't get enough. Well, he just made a Hall of Fame, so I guess he does get his his dude now. God, there's so many of them I love. I loved Wes Hopkins. Because that guy would just murder Seth Joyner. and then in the modern game, man, I that kid and the Kobe Dean, I I was so mad when they let him go. I mean we just couldn't afford him. Nakoby Dean could play. He was a he was a good linebacker. I guess I mean there were so many of speaker-1: one I actually respected on your squad was Jeremy Trotter. 'Cause that guy was just like speaker-0: Yeah, Trot was a monster too. His kid can play. Yeah. That kid is he's like six foot, like two thirty five. He can be a star lining backer in any other so I get a feeling he's gonna be a starter for us next year when we like zap ball and go. I'm sure. speaker-1: I don't like for the same thing with me, man. There's so many other like giant players I love, like Brandon Jacobs, fucking my god, Carl Banks, Pepper Johnson, Detta, Matt Barr. speaker-0: I love watching He wasn't the best quarterback in the league. I'm not saying that, but watching Randall Cunningham play was absolutely like everybody was speaker-1: He would speaker-0: like, Michael Vick was better. Listen, Randall Cunningham was doing shit way before Mike and doing it at a better Yeah. Like when your boy Carl Banks hit him. Yeah. And he like kicked his legs out and he just put his hand down, stood right back up, and and he had that sidearm gumby ass throw. Remember that play in Buffalo. speaker-1: I gotta give it to him, yeah. speaker-0: Where Bruce Smith had him dead to rights and he scrambled around the end zone and then threw that fifty yard bomb to Fred Barnett for a ninety one yard turn. Not to mention the punt in Giant Stadium went ninety one yards. Yeah. But that was the win. That tunnel boy. speaker-1: That's a I I still miss that stadium. The new stadium I'm just like I I'm just like w it just looks like a big speaker-0: Lincoln Financial Field's nice, but man, if if they would have just put natural grass in Veteran Stadium, I'd I would have loved it. There speaker-1: So what a rock speaker-0: is a different feeling. And for all you young cats who've never been to Veteran Stadium, not only was it just like the most aggressive stadium. Like we eat our own in that bitch. But it was perfectly it was a cookie cutter stadium. It was perfectly round and all that sound just got trapped in there. Like Lincoln Financial Field like wide open on their corners and stuff. speaker-1: I don't know why you guys do that. speaker-0: Veteran Stadium was just, golly, it was so goddamn loud. There was times you couldn't even feel your heartbeat. Like you're just like, God damn, it's loud. speaker-1: Like I could be wrong, but I think Denver Denver Stadium is kinda similar to to the you know, to the new L Lincoln, Lincoln financial field. Like speaker-0: Yeah, Mile High and Vesco field. Yeah, they do that It's almost like a high school field kind of deal. There's bleachers on that side, bleachers on this side, bleachers in the middle but then the court. Slowly but surely they're starting to enclose it because they're adding new seats. Yeah. But it's still not It's like I say it the Veterans Stadium held that noise so well. It was just unbelievable. I don't know. RFK Stadium did the same thing for Washington. Old Giant Stadium did it. Three rivers, Synergy Field in Cincinnati. Like they all, them cookie cutter stadiums, man. speaker-1: miss I do, I miss the old Giant Stadium because actually that was like if you got it at the nosebleed section, it almost looked like if you even sat in your chair and you like leaned over a little bit like you were gonna fall off. And d I used to love that though, man. speaker-0: Veteran Stadium, if you were up at the 700 level of the last row, you had a better chance of seeing people in the windows of the goddamn plane landing in Philadelphia on approach than you did see in the field. speaker-1: Yeah. I remember it was a net was the army and navy game. Remember I speaker-0: A section collapsed, yeah. speaker-1: was like, holy that thing was just falling apart, dude. I like speaker-0: Dude, my uncle said opening day for the I think the Eagles opened that up in seventy one, seventy two. Yeah. They were still pouring concrete. speaker-1: Yeah. speaker-0: The stadium wasn't done. They were still pouring concrete outside shit. Really? Hey. That thing was a mess. speaker-1: have you been on the Jumbotron like a at the stadium? Nah. I neither. I always wanted to be I've been out the Jumbotron for a devils game and speaker-0: I love one one thing I do miss about games, whether it's baseball, like there's always that couple. As soon as they hit some the guy turns and he whips out the ring. I love it because I'm just like three, two, and you hear people, don't do it! speaker-1: Dude is like, you don't be messed up too if you all go through all that and the girl's like, nah, I'm good, bro. Just like you as a friend. speaker-0: You see you see guys being like you hear your whole sex like don't fuck. speaker-1: Yeah, don't do it bro. You're not going to these games anymore, man. Once you get married, man, you're selling your season tickets, bro. You're not coming to these games anymore, man. speaker-0: That's one thing I'll give Eagles fans, man. They are hysterical. The one speaker-1: Yeah. speaker-0: year I forget what game was, every halftime had the Frisbee Dogs. I love the Frisbee Dogs. It's have you ever seen the Frisbee Dogs? They had I I guess it's a Philly exclusive then. They had this like these people come out with like these dogs. Yeah. And they would just throw frisbees and these frisbees are going like 60, 70 yards, and these dogs would haul ass cross field, jump in the air, and catch them. Yeah. Nobody watches the halftime show. Nobody gives a shit. I love dogs. Yeah. I'm not saying nobody cares about it, but yeah, it's a halftime show in an NFL game. Everybody's taking a pee or getting beer. So one year I was sitting there and they had like The little kids, like the football. Like the mites on ice but it was kids playing football. Yeah. And this drunk dude was just like, What the fuck? Where are the fucking Frisbee dogs? Fuck speaker-1: Yeah. speaker-0: these kids, we're the Frisbee dogs. We want the Frisbee dog speaker-1: Yeah. speaker-0: I was crying, bro. Billing kids. We want the Frisbee dog. Then there was this group of dudes and they might still be doing it. We parked where the I don't know what they call it now, it's the Wells Fargo Center. Yeah. The Core State Spectrum, whatever the it's called now. We parked three rows in front of that on the bridge side. Uh-huh. And there was always these dudes. What the hell's the Apache song by speaker-1: Jump on it. speaker-0: Every time they had it on their rotation where it'd play one like every half hour. Yeah. And they had this huge boom box and shit. And like so you'd be sitting there tailgate 'cause we all that year I had season tickets, you park in the same spot. So and every half hour that's all going on and that whole tailgate got out in the middle of the goddamn roadway. Like the aisles and shit and they they all start doing like the Indian dance and so and they were just like speaker-1: That's cool. speaker-0: And then they would play 'cause they had this big ass T V out there too. They would just randomly play porn. Yeah. speaker-1: That's dope. That's awesome though. speaker-0: So shout out to those guys if they're deal is still doing it, but we used to call them the Apache crowd. So speaker-1: That's cool. speaker-0: yeah, I'm just glad football's back, man. speaker-1: Yeah, there is. There's a you know, there's memories or good memories to be had too, man. I d I just can't wait to get back into it too, man. Like hang out with my buddy. speaker-0: it's like I said, it's gonna be good for it's it's gonna get better for you now you guys got hardball and a little bit of talent on that team. speaker-1: You we got that our fan club and stuff like that, or South Jersey Wrecking Crew or the Giants Den at the Piccolo. speaker-0: Yeah you fucking speaker-1: Doing that forever, man. I was surprised too, but we've been doing that forever, so and it's got got a lot of good friends out of it. Mm mm. And speaker-0: Hopefully we can go to video. I know Tommy said he wants to come in. We have a buddy that works for NFL Films. He said he wants to come in and do one of these episodes with us. We'll talk about NFL films and all that stuff. But we'll wait to go to video for that. speaker-1: Yeah, so like any listeners, if you guys have any favorite teams or you know, like gave speaker-0: we're definitely getting email on this shit. speaker-1: us some mailbox stuff. I actually really speaking of the mailbox, I remember like going to the world league games like the New York New Jersey Knights. one of the best fun things I used to love about that was they had the quarterback cam. So like you can actually see like, you the the What the quarterback's looked about. And then like if he got sacked or whatever. I used to love I hope they like if something like that would be if they brought that in the NFL, that'd be frickin' cool. speaker-0: They have it every once in a while. speaker-1: Yeah, but just like the sea. speaker-0: They they use they use a lot of that now and I'm gonna speed this up 'cause we are deep into this. all them binders over there where it says the Eagles Academy, for years the Eagles had this thing like a coaching academy. I was going to it once a year. and this was back when Christ. I think the last one was twenty sixteen. They had like the like the cameras you have on sunglasses and shit now. They had on the quarterback stings. So when a quarterback coaches like They would be in the meeting room and the quarterback was like, I didn't see it and they would bring it up on the camera for what he was seeing and and the coach be like, How the fuck can you not see that dude? Like you're looking right out. So don't tell me you didn't see it. Yeah. So So yeah, so Yeah, it's speaker-1: Yo. speaker-0: it's pretty wild. So And then of course they have all that shit that they hooked you during training camp where in your shoulder pads it measures your heart rate. Yeah. You know, your breathing per second when you're running, like how fast you do run during a sprint And then When I was there the last time, like on the in the weight room, like on the squat racks and stuff like that, there was cameras there. So when you did a squat, you could actually watch yourself on like there was like a little monitor there. Yeah. And it would tell you like a green check if you were doing it right or an X if you were doing it wrong. Right. So after you were done, you would hit play and it would actually tell you this rep was perfect, but this is where you screwed up on this one. And like show you I was like, dude, this sh speaker-1: That's crazy. speaker-0: crazy. Each player and Chuck Kelly started this and the Eagles actually kept it. They did blood work on them. So when they showed up for training camp, they knew if you were short on magnesium or zinc, your smoothie was you know, pretty much custom to you. Yeah. And every player had their own custom smoothies It was crazy. So speaker-1: That's cool. speaker-0: but yeah, man, I just love football. We need to wrap this up though. speaker-1: No, no, it's okay. And if I eat speaker-0: Love talking ball. I could talk ball all day. Originally this podcast I wanted to be about football. Yeah. So but I mean there's so many of those anyway, so speaker-1: Tailgate food and stuff like that. Like what what's like your three like major like tailgate foods? speaker-0: We should save that for another episode. Yeah. Yeah. All right. We'll do that at the start of the season. We'll do like a yeah. Like our menu card. Yeah. Maybe we'll have Tommy on. That's when we'll do that. Yeah, that'd be cool. All right, speaker-1: Cool man. speaker-0: everybody, if you like what you heard, like, rate, and subscribe. I mean, if you're an Eagles and Giants fan you like what we heard, the rest of you all feel speaker-1: Yeah. speaker-0: Like, rate and subscribe and you know, pass the word, You got anything else, buddy? speaker-1: Man, just thanks for listening to everybody. Let's drink some more beers and Seamus is awesome. Thanks, baby. speaker-0: And go birds. Alright everybody
