- 0:00Speaker 1: Hey, what's going on? It's Romeo. We made it through
- 0:01Speaker 1: Thursday and we talked to Michael Bean from the Marriage
- 0:04Speaker 1: and Family Center about relationships. We also talked a little NFL.
- 0:07Speaker 1: We talked about the Kern County Fair and that fair
- 0:11Speaker 1: food we have to have. And then a little bit
- 0:13Speaker 1: about your birthday. So let's see what happened.
- 0:16Speaker 2: Hey Rome.
- 0:16Speaker 1: So I went to my friend's house yesterday to pick
- 0:18Speaker 1: up something, pick up something for him while he was
- 0:21Speaker 1: at work. He told me just knock on the door.
- 0:24Speaker 1: My wife knows you're coming. So I end up going
- 0:27Speaker 1: over and his wife answers the door in her bra
- 0:30Speaker 1: and in a thong. I thought it was weird. Should
- 0:34Speaker 1: I tell him or just let it be? Um, you know,
- 0:39Speaker 1: I would tell him. Yeah, I would tell him. I mean,
- 0:42Speaker 1: who knows what he's, uh, Who knows what's going on there?
- 0:45Speaker 1: Why wouldn't you tell him? I mean, why wouldn't you
- 0:48Speaker 1: tell him? Unless you were, unless you were, what? Yeah,
- 0:53Speaker 1: why wouldn't you tell him? I mean, that should be
- 0:57Speaker 1: the first thing you do. Bro, I went over to
- 0:59Speaker 1: your house. Your wife answered in a bra and a thong.
- 1:01Speaker 1: I thought you, and that's how you tell him, exactly
- 1:03Speaker 1: like that. You go, bro, I went over to your house.
- 1:07Speaker 1: I thought your wife knew I was coming. She answered
- 1:10Speaker 1: the door in a bra and a thong. And then he'll,
- 1:13Speaker 1: he'll say, well, that's how she always, you know, he'll
- 1:15Speaker 1: come back. Oh yeah. She does that all the time or, Oh,
- 1:18Speaker 1: you know, Oh my God.
- 1:19Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:19Speaker 1: What the hell is that all about? You know? No,
- 1:21Speaker 1: you got to tell me, you got to tell him
- 1:22Speaker 1: like you out of concern, like what the hell bro?
- 1:25Speaker 1: Like you were the victim in that situation. You know
- 1:27Speaker 1: what I'm saying? Um, you were embarrassed about it. That's
- 1:32Speaker 1: how you handle that. Okay. Just so, but yeah, you
- 1:35Speaker 1: don't know what she's doing. She might be, uh, She
- 1:41Speaker 1: might have been waiting for Sancho. Who knows what's going on?
- 1:44Speaker 1: You want to help your buddy out. If he's your boy,
- 1:46Speaker 1: you want to let him know what's going on with
- 1:48Speaker 1: his wife so he's not getting done dirty if that's
- 1:50Speaker 1: what's happening. Come on, man. You got to do that. So, yeah.
- 1:56Speaker 1: I remember one time I was driving through, speaking of
- 1:58Speaker 1: women who walk, women love to walk around naked for
- 2:00Speaker 1: some reason, and just desperate housewife stuff. I was driving
- 2:06Speaker 1: through Old Stockdale one night, and I pull up to
- 2:09Speaker 1: the stop sign, the house to the right, had this
- 2:11Speaker 1: huge bay window in their, in their living, in their
- 2:17Speaker 1: dining room. And then you could see through the, from
- 2:19Speaker 1: the dining room, you could see through the doorwell to
- 2:21Speaker 1: the kitchen. And this woman was just standing there, butt naked,
- 2:24Speaker 1: scooping ice cream, just butt naked. You could see it
- 2:27Speaker 1: all clear as day. I was like, okay. So she
- 2:32Speaker 1: knows what, she knew what she was doing there. There's
- 2:34Speaker 1: something going on there. It's not, that wasn't an accident.
- 2:38Speaker 1: Women don't accidentally open their door naked. They don't accidentally
- 2:41Speaker 1: leave the curtains open or they don't accidentally stand in
- 2:44Speaker 1: front of a window naked. They know exactly what they're
- 2:47Speaker 1: doing and why they're doing it. So you should absolutely
- 2:50Speaker 1: tell your coworker what happened. R-D-4-2-5-4-7-7. So a guy texted me,
- 2:57Speaker 1: said his coworker, I guess, had asked him to go
- 2:59Speaker 1: by his house and pick something up for him. And
- 3:02Speaker 1: buddies are coworkers. And the wife was at home. knew
- 3:07Speaker 1: he was coming, opened the door in bra and thong underwear.
- 3:11Speaker 1: Bra and panties, right? He doesn't know if he should
- 3:14Speaker 1: tell his friend or not. His co-worker, right? I would tell.
- 3:19Speaker 1: I would tell him just because who knows what she's doing.
- 3:22Speaker 1: That sounds like a dirty girl right there, like she's
- 3:25Speaker 1: doing some dirt. R-D-4-2-5-4-7-7. What's going on? Hey, what's up, bro?
- 3:30Speaker 4: Hey, Ruben. What up, man?
- 3:32Speaker 5: You know, the problem with that guy, you know, hasn't
- 3:34Speaker 5: told his buddy nothing. The problem is with these unsecure
- 3:37Speaker 5: men in Bakersfield, Rome, he's probably worried about losing his buddy.
- 3:43Speaker 1: Okay, maybe.
- 3:44Speaker 3: You know how these fools are, Rome?
- 3:47Speaker 4: Maybe.
- 3:48Speaker 1: Maybe, maybe, maybe. I don't know.
- 3:50Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 3:51Speaker 4: Maybe.
- 3:52Speaker 3: Yeah, but I mean... But, yeah, I mean, I would run.
- 3:55Speaker 3: I would say something like, damn, bro, your old lady.
- 3:57Speaker 6: Came out pretty much butt naked.
- 3:59Speaker 3: You know what I mean?
- 4:00Speaker 1: Yeah, I know what you mean. I would say something, too,
- 4:03Speaker 1: just out of concern for him. But maybe you're right.
- 4:05Speaker 1: Maybe that is something he is concerned about, losing his buddy.
- 4:10Speaker 4: Maybe.
- 4:12Speaker 1: I don't know. That's a good question.
- 4:13Speaker 3: They're really good friends. They hang out a lot. And
- 4:15Speaker 3: he's probably thinking, oh, man.
- 4:17Speaker 1: Well, she has an ulterior motive. For whatever, she has
- 4:20Speaker 1: an ulterior motive. Because women don't do that. Women do
- 4:22Speaker 1: that on purpose. They know what they're doing.
- 4:25Speaker 3: They know what they're doing. They weren't born yesterday. They
- 4:27Speaker 3: know exactly what they're doing.
- 4:29Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 4:30Speaker 2: All right, Ruben.
- 4:31Speaker 1: I guess we'll see what happens. Hopefully he responds. Hopefully
- 4:33Speaker 1: he tells us what happened. Hopefully he does tell his buddy.
- 4:36Speaker 1: Because these women know exactly what they're doing. Women don't accidentally...
- 4:39Speaker 1: walk around the house naked or they don't accidentally, you know,
- 4:43Speaker 1: open the door naked. They don't, they don't do that.
- 4:46Speaker 1: So she either is a cheater already, or she was
- 4:50Speaker 1: trying to seduce him in some manner or something.
- 4:55Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 4:56Speaker 1: A guy texted me and said that his coworker asked
- 4:58Speaker 1: him to go by the house, his house and grab some,
- 5:01Speaker 1: pick something up for him. The coworker says, yes, my
- 5:05Speaker 1: wife knows you're coming. Um, So she'll be there. Well,
- 5:10Speaker 1: the guy said when he answered the door, the wife
- 5:13Speaker 1: was standing there in a bra and a thong. And
- 5:17Speaker 1: he doesn't know if he should tell his buddy or
- 5:18Speaker 1: his co-worker. Yeah, you should tell him.
- 5:20Speaker 4: 100%.
- 5:20Speaker 1: Come on, you know what's going on.
- 5:22Speaker 3: You know what?
- 5:23Speaker 7: I think Ruben's absolutely right. And, you know, it's hard
- 5:27Speaker 7: for me to do this.
- 5:29Speaker 3: But, yeah, yeah, I thought that, too.
- 5:33Speaker 7: I thought that, too. He said, well, how do I
- 5:34Speaker 7: tell him, man? I don't want, you know, he's been
- 5:36Speaker 7: my friend a long time. So that would be the reason.
- 5:39Speaker 3: So I'm agreeing with you, Ruben.
- 5:40Speaker 7: Now can you mow my lawn?
- 5:42Speaker 3: Later, brother.
- 5:42Speaker 4: Later.
- 5:48Speaker 1: I mean, I get what you're saying, but this is
- 5:51Speaker 1: how you tell her. I'm going to tell you exactly
- 5:53Speaker 1: how you tell your buddy, okay? You go and say, bro,
- 5:56Speaker 1: I thought you told me your wife knew I was coming.
- 6:00Speaker 1: It was so embarrassing for me. I thought your wife
- 6:02Speaker 1: knew I was coming, right? And when he says, why? Yeah,
- 6:04Speaker 1: she knew. You just go, because she was in her
- 6:07Speaker 1: bra and panties when she opened the door. I mean,
- 6:11Speaker 1: it was crazy. What happened, bro? And you make it
- 6:15Speaker 1: look like you're the one that's embarrassed. That way it's
- 6:18Speaker 1: nothing on you. I mean, something's going on there. There's
- 6:23Speaker 1: something going on with his wife. If she's going to
- 6:24Speaker 1: do that, she knows she's doing it. If she's going
- 6:28Speaker 1: to do it, she knows why, you know? And I'll
- 6:31Speaker 1: tell you a funny story about that. While I was,
- 6:33Speaker 1: I was on a golf course one time and I
- 6:36Speaker 1: hit this golf ball into, and it was a private
- 6:40Speaker 1: golf course and I hit the golf ball into somebody's backyard. Okay.
- 6:44Speaker 1: So I go up there to, uh, to get my golf,
- 6:48Speaker 1: to see if by some chance it didn't go in
- 6:51Speaker 1: the backyard, just to check, right? So when I get
- 6:53Speaker 1: up there, there's this woman. It's probably about 11 a.m.
- 6:57Speaker 1: There's this woman standing there at the fence where I
- 7:01Speaker 1: hit the ball in, and you could tell she's naked
- 7:04Speaker 1: in just a robe. And it was half open. You
- 7:10Speaker 1: know how the robe wasn't tied tight, tight, tight? You
- 7:12Speaker 1: know how these women wear robes when they want you
- 7:14Speaker 1: to see stuff. And she had a drink in her hand.
- 7:17Speaker 1: And she rolls up and she was an older lady.
- 7:20Speaker 1: And she goes, I go, oh, I think I hit
- 7:22Speaker 1: my ball in the backyard. She goes, oh, don't worry
- 7:25Speaker 1: about it, sweetie. It happens all the time here. I
- 7:27Speaker 1: don't know if this is yours, but there's a bunch
- 7:29Speaker 1: of them right here. And she proceeds to hand me
- 7:31Speaker 1: about 20 block balls. But you can see through her robe,
- 7:36Speaker 1: you can see everything. Okay. And it's not closed all
- 7:39Speaker 1: the way. I thought, wow, okay. So then after the
- 7:44Speaker 1: nine holes, I go by the clubhouse. I was like, dude,
- 7:46Speaker 1: this is crazy. What's going on here with this? She goes, yeah,
- 7:50Speaker 1: she's an older lady. Her husband passed away a few
- 7:53Speaker 1: years ago. So she just hangs out. And she's probably
- 7:58Speaker 1: desperate for a little bit of attention. She knows what
- 8:00Speaker 1: she's doing. She's not crazy. And she was a good-looking woman.
- 8:02Speaker 1: She was an older woman, lost her husband. She just
- 8:05Speaker 1: wanted the attention. So, I mean, don't get me wrong.
- 8:11Speaker 1: You know. But women know what they're doing. So whatever's
- 8:15Speaker 1: going on, you need to tell your co-worker, your buddy, whoever.
- 8:19Speaker 1: You need to tell him so he knows because you
- 8:21Speaker 1: don't want, she's doing something dirty behind his back. Go
- 8:24Speaker 1: right now. What's going on?
- 8:25Speaker 4: Man, Roman, why are you always playing the women for?
- 8:29Speaker 4: How do you not know maybe his buddy went ahead
- 8:33Speaker 4: and him and his wife are swingers? You know, and
- 8:41Speaker 4: maybe because, I mean, it seems like they've been over
- 8:43Speaker 4: like what you're saying. It seems like they've been over.
- 8:46Speaker 4: He's been over their house a few times, you know,
- 8:49Speaker 4: to go pick up something. Because isn't that weird? Like
- 8:51Speaker 4: you're like not the first time to pick up something.
- 8:54Speaker 1: So you're saying it's not the first time.
- 8:57Speaker 4: So what I'm saying is, it's suspicious that he would
- 9:00Speaker 4: send his buddy over his house during the day to
- 9:04Speaker 4: pick up something. Why is that suspicious?
- 9:07Speaker 1: Wait, wait, wait.
- 9:08Speaker 4: Why is that suspicious? Hold on, Romeo. Hold on. And
- 9:11Speaker 4: then he tells him, oh, my wife knows you're coming.
- 9:14Speaker 4: So to me, that seems like a setup for a
- 9:17Speaker 4: swinger situation, you know? Well, okay. So if he doesn't
- 9:23Speaker 4: say anything, it's either he did something... Or, like, the
- 9:27Speaker 4: other guy said he doesn't want to lose his buddy.
- 9:29Speaker 4: But I'm guessing the husband is, like, WTF. You know, like,
- 9:34Speaker 4: either he did or he didn't, like, pick up on
- 9:36Speaker 4: the swinger action or something. Okay.
- 9:38Speaker 3: I don't know about.
- 9:39Speaker 4: You, but, like, as I get older, I start finding
- 9:42Speaker 4: out that people are just, like, really freaky and, like, ugh.
- 9:45Speaker 1: Oh, I know a lot of swingers. Oh, I know
- 9:47Speaker 1: a lot of swingers. No, I don't disagree with you.
- 9:49Speaker 1: Bakersfield's got a big swinging community if you guys ever
- 9:51Speaker 1: want to get involved in it.
- 9:52Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 9:53Speaker 4: I just think people are, I mean, that's good for them,
- 9:56Speaker 4: but I mean, just put that same energy into your relationship,
- 9:59Speaker 4: I guess.
- 9:59Speaker 3: Sure.
- 10:00Speaker 4: In this awkward situation sure I get it because you
- 10:03Speaker 4: know if he does something with the wife then he's
- 10:05Speaker 4: in the wrong but I mean they're in the wrong
- 10:09Speaker 4: because he already told his wife my buddy's coming over
- 10:12Speaker 4: which is kind of so you.
- 10:13Speaker 1: Think so in your what you think is they the
- 10:16Speaker 1: husband and wife know what's going on they knew she
- 10:18Speaker 1: was okay All right, fair enough.
- 10:21Speaker 4: Yep, and then they're putting this poor guy in an
- 10:23Speaker 4: awkward situation. Maybe he's married, maybe he's not, you know,
- 10:26Speaker 4: in this situation.
- 10:27Speaker 2: Okay, all right.
- 10:28Speaker 1: Thanks for calling.
- 10:30Speaker 4: I appreciate it. That's what I'm saying. You know, it
- 10:32Speaker 4: sounds suspicious. You know, you can't just blame the wife.
- 10:34Speaker 4: You've got to blame the husband, too.
- 10:35Speaker 1: Okay, all right.
- 10:36Speaker 4: Pimping her out like that.
- 10:38Speaker 1: Pimping her. All right, thanks for calling.
- 10:41Speaker 7: Later.
- 10:43Speaker 4: I mean, maybe.
- 10:45Speaker 1: Another guy sent me kind of a similar text message.
- 10:47Speaker 1: He says, hey, Rome, let me tell you right now,
- 10:50Speaker 1: I'm not trying to brag, but I live on the
- 10:53Speaker 1: golf course in Seven Oaks. I make a lot of money.
- 10:57Speaker 1: My wife is a little younger than me, and she
- 10:59Speaker 1: is really, really hot. She walks around all day in
- 11:03Speaker 1: her lingerie, in her teddies, in her bra and panties.
- 11:07Speaker 1: She'll go out by the pool. She'll go do housework
- 11:12Speaker 1: in that type of stuff. Cause it's comfortable for her.
- 11:15Speaker 1: And yes, Rome, you can see a lot. My neighbors
- 11:18Speaker 1: have said something. The people at the golf course have
- 11:21Speaker 1: actually called me and asked if they know, because golfers
- 11:25Speaker 1: have complained about golfers and complained. It's probably women that
- 11:29Speaker 1: complained about your wife, your hot wife walking around half
- 11:32Speaker 1: naked all day, right in her backyard. Um, Rome, I
- 11:35Speaker 1: know my wife does that. I don't think she's cheating
- 11:39Speaker 1: on me, but I know she likes the attention of,
- 11:42Speaker 1: I knew who I married. So Rome, you better, you
- 11:46Speaker 1: better take a look at the big picture. Maybe the
- 11:50Speaker 1: husband does know. Ah, fair enough. That's two. Maybe, maybe
- 11:57Speaker 1: you're right. Already 14, five, four, seven and seven. By
- 12:00Speaker 1: the way, I think I've seen your wife at seven Oaks.
- 12:02Speaker 1: You guys live on that corner house, right on the
- 12:04Speaker 1: tee box. I think I've seen her by the pool.
- 12:06Speaker 1: All right, so a guy sent me a text message.
- 12:09Speaker 1: I got to find it.
- 12:10Speaker 7: I lost it.
- 12:10Speaker 1: But basically, it says this. He was a co-worker of his.
- 12:15Speaker 1: I'm going to try to find it. A co-worker of
- 12:19Speaker 1: his asked him to stop by his house to pick
- 12:22Speaker 1: something up, right? And he says, he told his wife.
- 12:26Speaker 1: Here we go. Went by our friend's house. Hey, Rome.
- 12:28Speaker 1: So I went by our friend's house yesterday to pick
- 12:30Speaker 1: up something for him. Oh, while he was at work.
- 12:33Speaker 1: So it was a friend's house, not a co-worker. He
- 12:35Speaker 1: told me, just knock on the door. My wife knows
- 12:37Speaker 1: you're coming. So I end up going over and his
- 12:40Speaker 1: wife answers the door in her bra and in a thong.
- 12:44Speaker 1: I thought it was weird. Should I tell him or
- 12:46Speaker 1: just let it be? No, you should absolutely tell him
- 12:49Speaker 1: because that is weird. Something is going on. She's either
- 12:52Speaker 1: desperate for attention, which he knows about, or she was
- 12:55Speaker 1: trying to seduce you, or she's just a straight cheater.
- 12:58Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 12:58Speaker 1: Hey, Rome. So I went, where is it?
- 13:01Speaker 2: Hold on.
- 13:01Speaker 1: Let me see what. Let's see. It's not that he
- 13:04Speaker 1: doesn't want to tell his friend. It's that the wife
- 13:06Speaker 1: can switch it up and say that he's lying. And
- 13:11Speaker 1: who is the man going to believe, the wife or friend? Well,
- 13:16Speaker 1: I mean, it's a good point. It's a good point.
- 13:20Speaker 1: He should have took a photo. Bro, maybe that's all
- 13:23Speaker 1: she owns. That's pretty much. Rome, it's Ruben. Damn, bro.
- 13:29Speaker 1: Google Ghillie wants to hire me back. Last time he
- 13:32Speaker 1: fired me because I told him his wife was hooking
- 13:35Speaker 1: me up with burritos for lunch. That's why I'm saying, Rome,
- 13:38Speaker 1: something you can't say anything might lose a buddy. I
- 13:42Speaker 1: don't know. I mean, I don't know. Who cares? You
- 13:47Speaker 1: can always make new friends. You guys are always concerned about...
- 13:51Speaker 1: This is a real problem with a lot of you.
- 13:54Speaker 1: And I don't know if you're just a bunch of
- 13:56Speaker 1: insecure jackasses. or insecure idiots in Bakersfield. But you're always
- 14:03Speaker 1: worried about losing a friend over something that you didn't do.
- 14:07Speaker 1: Why would you want a friend? If you're going to
- 14:08Speaker 1: lose a friend over this situation, you go and you
- 14:12Speaker 1: tell your friend, hey, your wife opened the door in
- 14:15Speaker 1: bra and panties. And if you lose him, what does
- 14:21Speaker 1: that really say about your friendship? Why do you want
- 14:23Speaker 1: that friend? I don't understand how insecure. You can always
- 14:28Speaker 1: go make more friends, better friends. You can always go
- 14:30Speaker 1: find a new one. That's why I don't understand this.
- 14:32Speaker 1: We have these conversations all the time. Well, I don't
- 14:35Speaker 1: want to do this. I might lose him as a
- 14:36Speaker 1: friend or I might lose my wife. Well, do you
- 14:39Speaker 1: really want somebody that dirty in your life? If somebody's
- 14:42Speaker 1: going to do that, if you're going to lose a
- 14:44Speaker 1: friend over something that you didn't do, is that friend
- 14:50Speaker 1: really worth having in your life? I mean, how insecure
- 14:53Speaker 1: are you? To be honest with you, for any of
- 14:56Speaker 1: you that say that, well, what if you lose a...
- 14:58Speaker 1: I could give a damn. If I lose a friend
- 15:01Speaker 1: that's not a good friend, then why... Is it really
- 15:05Speaker 1: a friend? Is that how you judge your life? By
- 15:07Speaker 1: how many people are fake-ass friends? Or how many... Would
- 15:11Speaker 1: you rather have one good friend around you or 30
- 15:14Speaker 1: fake-ass friends? What makes you feel better? That's the problem
- 15:18Speaker 1: with this conversation when it comes to you. Every time
- 15:21Speaker 1: we have... Well, I can't tell him because I might
- 15:23Speaker 1: lose him as a friend. Well, who cares then? If
- 15:25Speaker 1: you lose him as a friend, he wasn't a friend
- 15:26Speaker 1: to begin with. All right, 8-4-2-5-4-7-7. Rome, I don't believe
- 15:33Speaker 1: him one bit. What's his address so I can check
- 15:36Speaker 1: it out when I'm playing some golf? Oh. Look, I'm
- 15:43Speaker 1: going to be honest with you, and you guys don't
- 15:45Speaker 1: realize that There are a lot of men out there,
- 15:49Speaker 1: especially men, rich men. I'm assuming he lives in Seven
- 15:53Speaker 1: Oaks on the golf course. He got some real money.
- 15:56Speaker 1: But there are a lot of men out there that
- 15:58Speaker 1: are proud of the fact that they have a hot wife,
- 16:02Speaker 1: a sexy wife, and have no problem with them showing
- 16:06Speaker 1: everything off. Because those women want attention. And these egotistical
- 16:12Speaker 1: men They want credit for having a woman who looks
- 16:20Speaker 1: that good. So they want her to show it all
- 16:23Speaker 1: off so they get credit for having her. That's real,
- 16:29Speaker 1: by the way. You know, just because you don't want
- 16:33Speaker 1: your wife out there half naked, letting everybody see what
- 16:36Speaker 1: she's working with. There are a lot of guys out
- 16:38Speaker 1: there that they're narcissistic. And they get pleasure from other
- 16:44Speaker 1: men looking at their wives. All right, 8-4-2-5-4, 7-7. What
- 16:51Speaker 1: else you got here? Yep, that's the house, Rome. She fine.
- 16:56Speaker 1: Men love that shot. Managers are okay with how hot
- 17:03Speaker 1: their wives are. Girlfriends are simple. Even my wife. My wife, Soda, wow,
- 17:09Speaker 1: she hot. What? Okay. There you go. 112.1, the rhythm
- 17:14Speaker 1: of the valleys, Romeo. All right. Oh, would you send
- 17:16Speaker 1: me here? Would you text me here?
- 17:18Speaker 4: Hey, Rome.
- 17:19Speaker 1: Hey, I'd be telling him today. Hopefully he don't think
- 17:23Speaker 1: I want to sleep with his wife. Exactly. Well, you
- 17:26Speaker 1: would have to tell him immediately. Right?
- 17:30Speaker 4: I mean.
- 17:31Speaker 1: That would make the most... Women know how... Even if
- 17:36Speaker 1: she didn't know he was coming over, right? The friend
- 17:39Speaker 1: wasn't stopping by. And she still answered the door in
- 17:42Speaker 1: bra and panties? What woman does that? Unless there's some
- 17:46Speaker 1: ulterior motive. I mean, what... I don't know what the
- 17:48Speaker 1: ulterior motive is, but yeah, what woman does that unless
- 17:51Speaker 1: there's an ulterior motive? Monday night... No, Thursday night football.
- 17:55Speaker 1: Thursday night football. Who plays tonight? Atlanta and Green Bay.
- 18:00Speaker 1: Atlanta's 0-2, Green Bay's 1-1. How is Jordan Love doing?
- 18:07Speaker 1: Is he playing well? I haven't been paying attention to
- 18:11Speaker 1: what's going on with much football other than the Chiefs
- 18:19Speaker 1: and the local teams, the Raiders, the Chiefs, the Niners,
- 18:22Speaker 1: the Cowboys, all the teams that matter. I don't know
- 18:26Speaker 1: if the goal, I don't know that Green Bay really
- 18:27Speaker 1: matters as much in Bakersfield other than the fact that
- 18:30Speaker 1: Jordan Love is the quarterback and he's from Liberty. But,
- 18:36Speaker 1: and he's apparently just a great guy. So, but I
- 18:40Speaker 1: haven't been paying attention. Has he been playing? Well, I
- 18:41Speaker 1: know they're one and one. They lost their first game,
- 18:44Speaker 1: won their second game, but it doesn't seem like, we're
- 18:51Speaker 1: starting the third week. and I've been having some conversations
- 18:55Speaker 1: with guys about football and it doesn't seem, people just
- 19:01Speaker 1: don't seem as interested. Um, all the, all the Niner
- 19:07Speaker 1: bandwagons are interested, but is, uh, had there really been
- 19:11Speaker 1: any good games, like good matchups, like not good games,
- 19:15Speaker 1: but good matchups. I did hear the stupidest thing this
- 19:18Speaker 1: morning though. Um, I guess some idiot on ESPN or
- 19:23Speaker 1: some dumbass on ESPN said that the Chargers were going
- 19:26Speaker 1: to beat the bills this weekend. There's no way the
- 19:30Speaker 1: Chargers are going to go 0-3. I could see them
- 19:32Speaker 1: beating the bills this weekend. I mean, dude, how do
- 19:35Speaker 1: you get that job? How do you get NFL analysts
- 19:38Speaker 1: where you can just say whatever ridiculous statement you want to,
- 19:43Speaker 1: and if it happens, oh, look how right you were,
- 19:45Speaker 1: and if it doesn't happen, it doesn't matter. That's the
- 19:49Speaker 1: only job I know where you can be wrong every
- 19:51Speaker 1: day and still be a genius. Gosh, how do you
- 19:54Speaker 1: get that job? Packers and Falcons play tonight, Thursday night football,
- 19:58Speaker 1: and I'm sure a lot of you guys will be
- 19:59Speaker 1: at the fair watching it instead of watching it. I
- 20:01Speaker 1: don't think it's even worth watching.
- 20:03Speaker 7: Is it?
- 20:03Speaker 1: Atlanta's 0-2, Packers are 1-1. Hey, Rome, it's a Packers world.
- 20:09Speaker 1: Of course they matter. Love is playing okay. We just
- 20:12Speaker 1: need the line to do better to protect him. Yeah,
- 20:17Speaker 1: like I said, I don't know much about the Packers
- 20:20Speaker 1: this year. I haven't really paid much attention. I do
- 20:24Speaker 1: like to see Bakersfield athletes or Bakersfield people win. I
- 20:28Speaker 1: do like to see them succeed. I would love to
- 20:30Speaker 1: see Jordan Love succeed. Looks like he's kind of regressed
- 20:33Speaker 1: over the last couple of years, though, right? He was
- 20:35Speaker 1: looking pretty phenomenal, right? He was looking pretty good, like
- 20:38Speaker 1: he was on the come-up. I don't know how they've
- 20:40Speaker 1: been doing lately, though, but okay. Good morning, Alton. What's
- 20:42Speaker 1: going on?
- 20:44Speaker 6: Hello, Milius.
- 20:44Speaker 8: So you're telling me a radio host is not similar
- 20:47Speaker 8: to a sports anchor?
- 20:50Speaker 7: No.
- 20:51Speaker 1: I'm not stupid. I don't just make stuff up. Everything
- 20:56Speaker 1: I say is common sense, factual, and I'm accountable for
- 21:00Speaker 1: it all.
- 21:02Speaker 8: Man, because some of the stuff you say, you know,
- 21:05Speaker 8: I question. And you got one of those jobs that
- 21:07Speaker 8: a lot of us out here breaking our backs would
- 21:09Speaker 8: love to sit down and just talk crap all day.
- 21:12Speaker 1: Well, you're assuming I'm just I'm so good at what
- 21:14Speaker 1: I do and so intelligent. You in your head, I'm
- 21:17Speaker 1: just talking crap. No, I'm speaking facts and common sense.
- 21:23Speaker 1: I just I'm so good at I'm so good at it.
- 21:25Speaker 1: You you it makes you wonder. You just think I'm
- 21:29Speaker 1: just coming off the top of my head, making stuff up.
- 21:33Speaker 2: Okay, I'm not starting to suffer.
- 21:35Speaker 3: I just thought there was a similarity.
- 21:36Speaker 8: I get that same kind of sports anchor from you sometimes.
- 21:39Speaker 1: Not even close. You're just not as smart as me,
- 21:43Speaker 1: Raider Dave, so you can't comprehend the level that I'm
- 21:46Speaker 1: working with by doing this show.
- 21:49Speaker 6: Hey, I signed up for.
- 21:51Speaker 2: community college.
- 21:52Speaker 8: So I'm on my way.
- 21:53Speaker 9: Okay.
- 21:53Speaker 8: Give me four more years.
- 21:56Speaker 7: Okay.
- 21:57Speaker 1: If you spend four years in community college, Dave, we
- 22:00Speaker 1: need to have a talk. I mean, I'm look, I'm
- 22:11Speaker 1: playing chess. You guys are all playing checkers. Okay. Let's
- 22:13Speaker 1: be honest about it.
- 22:15Speaker 7: Um, all right.
- 22:16Speaker 1: Hey, four, two, five, four, seven, seven. Um, Hey, Hey, Rome,
- 22:23Speaker 1: good teams have problems. Let's see here. Good teams have
- 22:28Speaker 1: problems playing lower-tier teams for whatever reason. Look like the
- 22:32Speaker 1: Saints beat the Ravens, then almost beat the Eagles. The
- 22:36Speaker 1: Chargers might beat the Bills. I just like the Chargers,
- 22:41Speaker 1: but I'm just saying there's no way. I mean, Josh
- 22:45Speaker 1: Allen is like Dak Prescott. They're best regular season quarterbacks.
- 22:52Speaker 1: Best regular season quarterbacks out there, man. Two of the best.
- 22:58Speaker 1: They suck when it's on the line, the playoffs and
- 23:01Speaker 1: the championship, but hey, there's no way. The Chargers look pathetic.
- 23:06Speaker 1: And the Bills look like they're just... The Bills actually
- 23:10Speaker 1: look like they're a Super Bowl contender right now. The
- 23:13Speaker 1: Chargers look sad and pathetic. Nobody knows what they're doing.
- 23:18Speaker 1: But the Saints... The Saints didn't play the Eagles, did they?
- 23:24Speaker 1: The Saints played Detroit and the Ravens. The first two
- 23:27Speaker 1: games were Detroit. The Saints beat the Ravens, and then
- 23:31Speaker 1: they almost beat the Lions, not the Eagles, right? I
- 23:35Speaker 1: don't know. I don't know what the Saints are. I mean,
- 23:39Speaker 1: there's a husband and wife that come out to Monday
- 23:41Speaker 1: Night Football, and they're Saints fans, Saint Girl and her husband.
- 23:44Speaker 1: And they don't know anything about the Saints. They play
- 23:47Speaker 1: the Raiders this weekend, though. So I guess we'll see.
- 23:51Speaker 1: What's what? I mean, you're right. Any team can beat
- 23:53Speaker 1: any team, but no, the Chargers, there's no way in hell.
- 23:58Speaker 1: To say that, to make that statement is just stupid
- 24:01Speaker 1: at this point. If you know anything about football, and
- 24:06Speaker 1: that is your job to analyze and break down football,
- 24:11Speaker 1: for anybody to say that they think the Chargers have
- 24:14Speaker 1: the ability to beat the Bills on Sunday, you're an
- 24:19Speaker 1: absolute moron. And you're just trying to say something to
- 24:23Speaker 1: cause controversy. You're an absolute moron. Now, if it happens,
- 24:27Speaker 1: I get it. If it happens, you go, oh, any
- 24:29Speaker 1: given Sunday, absolutely. Because they're still professionals. But nobody in
- 24:35Speaker 1: their right mind. You're an absolute moron if you believe
- 24:38Speaker 1: the Chargers have a shot of beating the Bills based
- 24:41Speaker 1: on what we've seen in the last two weeks. Okay?
- 24:46Speaker 1: And All Herbert has done is regressed in his career.
- 24:50Speaker 1: All right. What did you send me here? Hey, Rome,
- 24:52Speaker 1: who you got tonight? I'll take the Packers. I think
- 24:55Speaker 1: the Packers will beat the Falcons. Packers should beat the Falcons. Hey, Rome,
- 25:01Speaker 1: your job is equivalent to a meteorologist. You can be
- 25:05Speaker 1: wrong every day and still have a job. That is
- 25:09Speaker 1: not true, by the way. I'm never wrong, first of all.
- 25:15Speaker 1: So that's absolutely incorrect. But if I was wrong every day,
- 25:18Speaker 1: nobody would listen. I mean, that's just bottom line. The
- 25:22Speaker 1: reason everybody listens is because I am right. Actually, the
- 25:25Speaker 1: reason everybody listens is because I use common sense when
- 25:27Speaker 1: I talk. Not like you morons. Yo, Ro, man, these
- 25:30Speaker 1: talking heads on ESPN are really making fans delusional and
- 25:34Speaker 1: got them thinking like them. Talking heads or ex-players with
- 25:39Speaker 1: just opinions like you and everyone else who watches sports.
- 25:43Speaker 1: You're right, Romeo. So tell them to get off the... Narcotics.
- 25:52Speaker 1: That is talking heads.
- 25:54Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 25:55Speaker 1: I mean, you know, there's very few people that... Excuse me.
- 26:01Speaker 1: There are very few analysts out there that really know
- 26:04Speaker 1: what they're talking about. You know? And their opinions... The
- 26:08Speaker 1: fun thing about football, I was having this conversation, by
- 26:10Speaker 1: the way, because Raider Dave was talking about, you know,
- 26:17Speaker 1: that's what I do. Big Boy said, Scarface, even when
- 26:23Speaker 1: you're wrong, you're right. Even when I'm wrong, I'm right.
- 26:29Speaker 1: Here's the thing about football. Or about any sporting event.
- 26:33Speaker 1: You and your buddies, you get together and you talk
- 26:35Speaker 1: about it, right? You guys all, everybody's in armchair, you know, whatever,
- 26:38Speaker 1: armchair coach. And you sit around, you talk about it.
- 26:41Speaker 1: That's all we do on this show is talk about it.
- 26:42Speaker 1: We don't know what the hell we're talking about. We
- 26:44Speaker 1: could be wrong. And then you say you're wrong. But
- 26:48Speaker 1: if my job was to actually talk football, I wouldn't
- 26:54Speaker 1: make damn sure I was as accurate as I could
- 26:57Speaker 1: be and hold myself accountable. That's the problem. There's no
- 27:04Speaker 1: accountability for these idiots on ESPN or Fox or whoever
- 27:07Speaker 1: who say stupid things. There's no accountability for them. So
- 27:12Speaker 1: like I said, whatever the hell they want. And you
- 27:14Speaker 1: idiots keep listening to them going, oh, man, yeah, you're right.
- 27:18Speaker 1: You look especially like this Charger thing. You know, this
- 27:22Speaker 1: this idiot said the Chargers could win. I could see
- 27:25Speaker 1: you could see the Chargers winning against the Bills. Based
- 27:29Speaker 1: on everything we've seen in the last two weeks, there's
- 27:31Speaker 1: no way in hell the Chargers are going to beat
- 27:33Speaker 1: the Bills. They'll probably get beat 49-0. Now, if they win, okay,
- 27:40Speaker 1: something happened. Okay, they're still professional athletes. You can't discount that, okay?
- 27:45Speaker 1: But based on what you've seen as of today, that's
- 27:50Speaker 1: the problem with a lot of you idiots out there
- 27:56Speaker 1: is you don't realize the world changes. What is today
- 28:00Speaker 1: may not be tomorrow. The Bills may be going to
- 28:04Speaker 1: the Super Bowl today. That's how they look. They're going
- 28:09Speaker 1: to the Super Bowl. If Josh Allen gets hurt on Sunday,
- 28:15Speaker 1: then everything changes. But you idiots don't live your life
- 28:20Speaker 1: like that. Based on every new day, There's no way
- 28:28Speaker 1: in hell the Bills are going to lose to the Chargers.
- 28:32Speaker 1: No way. Something might happen tomorrow. Something might happen on
- 28:37Speaker 1: Saturday that changes the whole dynamic of everything. But you idiots,
- 28:42Speaker 1: especially football fans, you morons who watch football and swear
- 28:47Speaker 1: you're just so diehard and dedicated to the point of
- 28:50Speaker 1: delusional delusion. That's why I win, because I don't live
- 28:59Speaker 1: my life like that. I'm not delusional. I may have
- 29:05Speaker 1: to go home a different way today because they might
- 29:07Speaker 1: be doing road work on the way I usually go.
- 29:11Speaker 1: So it may take me a little longer. You idiots
- 29:14Speaker 1: don't see life like that. Let me get to your
- 29:16Speaker 1: text messages real quick. Where are they? Here, Rome, correction.
- 29:21Speaker 1: What up, Rome? Master Debater here. I think Raiders have
- 29:26Speaker 1: a chance at the Super Bowl. I'm ready to debate.
- 29:32Speaker 1: That's just stupid. I mean, that's not even a debate.
- 29:40Speaker 1: They are not going to the Super Bowl. I mean,
- 29:48Speaker 1: this is how stupid you Raider fans are, okay? Your
- 29:51Speaker 1: quarterback is the most fraudulent quarterback in the NFL. Exactly
- 29:57Speaker 1: what he's done for four other teams or three other teams.
- 30:01Speaker 1: Won a few preseason games. Won a couple of regular
- 30:04Speaker 1: season games. Got hundreds of millions of dollars and has
- 30:08Speaker 1: won nothing. Oh, wait, he won one playoff game. And
- 30:14Speaker 1: he's only been to four. So, yeah, you guys. Debate's over. A-Rome,
- 30:24Speaker 1: does Buffalo look better than KC right now?
- 30:26Speaker 3: Yes.
- 30:27Speaker 1: Buffalo looks better than casey right now so but the
- 30:32Speaker 1: only problem with that is casey does have buffalo's number
- 30:35Speaker 1: they've been bare i think i think uh josh allen
- 30:37Speaker 1: is scared of patrick mahomes um but that's because of
- 30:42Speaker 1: the past he got uh patrick mahomes uh you know
- 30:47Speaker 1: because of what's happened how mahomes is embarrassed The Bills
- 30:51Speaker 1: in the past, I think that affects them when they play. But, no,
- 30:55Speaker 1: I think the Bills look better than KC right now.
- 30:57Speaker 1: I mean, KC, they really haven't played anybody. I mean,
- 31:00Speaker 1: they beat, who'd they beat? KC really, I mean, they
- 31:04Speaker 1: beat the Chargers, but we thought the Chargers were going
- 31:07Speaker 1: to be better than they were, or than they are.
- 31:10Speaker 1: They suck. So, KC, I mean, who did they beat
- 31:14Speaker 1: last week? I can't remember now. Oh, the Colts. So, no,
- 31:18Speaker 1: the Bills look better, I think. But we'll see what happens.
- 31:22Speaker 8: Hey, Romeo, there you are. You're assuming that the Raiders
- 31:25Speaker 8: aren't going to go to the Super Bowl.
- 31:29Speaker 1: No, I'm not. I'm basing it on facts and common
- 31:31Speaker 1: sense of what Kirk Cousins has done and what the
- 31:35Speaker 1: Raiders organization has done in the last 30 years.
- 31:39Speaker 3: This is always that first time.
- 31:42Speaker 1: You're right. But at this point, this is where you
- 31:46Speaker 1: guys are all stupid and why I always win. is
- 31:48Speaker 1: because based on my knowledge of what's happening right now,
- 31:52Speaker 1: Kirk Cousins has accomplished nothing except fraudulently steal money from
- 31:57Speaker 1: football teams. He's not a winner. He's won a few
- 32:01Speaker 1: regular season games. He's been in the league for 12 years. No,
- 32:06Speaker 1: 14 years. He's been to four playoff games.
- 32:12Speaker 6: All right.
- 32:13Speaker 1: Okay, so the odds on him getting the Super Bowl are,
- 32:17Speaker 1: Are so small, they're irrelevant.
- 32:22Speaker 8: I understand that.
- 32:23Speaker 1: So that's why I always say, that's why I'm right,
- 32:26Speaker 1: Raider Dave. Because I have common sense and facts.
- 32:31Speaker 8: But it almost sounds like the way they're predicting this
- 32:35Speaker 8: El Nino is going to be a big storm. Nobody
- 32:37Speaker 8: knows if it's going to rain or not. So you
- 32:41Speaker 8: sound just like the weatherman.
- 32:42Speaker 1: No, I don't. I know exactly what I'm talking about.
- 32:44Speaker 1: You guys are just so delusional and dumb. You don't
- 32:47Speaker 1: understand that I'm working on a higher level than you.
- 32:51Speaker 8: Well, I can't wait till we prove you wrong. Cause
- 32:53Speaker 8: we're going, we're going this year, Romeo.
- 32:55Speaker 6: It's our year.
- 32:56Speaker 1: Okay. Well, it'll probably be, it'll probably be the, you know,
- 33:05Speaker 1: the Cowboys and the Raiders in the Superbowl. because that's
- 33:09Speaker 1: what's i can't even say that with a straight face
- 33:13Speaker 1: sorry michael bean is here from the marriage and family
- 33:15Speaker 1: center good morning michael good morning all right uh marriage
- 33:21Speaker 1: family center 661-327-5100 that's how you get a hold of
- 33:25Speaker 1: them answer a couple questions and you'll get through um
- 33:28Speaker 1: how's everything going michael.
- 33:32Speaker 6: I mean, I cannot complain. I just can't. You're just
- 33:35Speaker 6: swimming along nicely. How about for you? How are things
- 33:38Speaker 6: going for you?
- 33:39Speaker 1: Oh, I have headaches all day. Listeners are the dumbest
- 33:42Speaker 1: people on the planet. Sometimes the dumb ones only call me.
- 33:47Speaker 1: The smart ones don't call me as much as the
- 33:49Speaker 1: dumb ones. Oh, dear. All right, let's get into relationships, Michael.
- 33:59Speaker 1: One of the biggest questions. anybody would ask is do relationships,
- 34:03Speaker 1: should they be hard work? Should they be easy? Are we,
- 34:07Speaker 1: should we just be so compatible that life is like,
- 34:11Speaker 1: you know, lollipops and rainbows riding on a unicorn and
- 34:14Speaker 1: nothing should ever go wrong or happen. Everything should just
- 34:17Speaker 1: be perfect.
- 34:20Speaker 6: Yeah. And sometimes that's when, when people step out of
- 34:23Speaker 6: a relationship, they'll go, man, it's just getting to be
- 34:26Speaker 6: too much work. So I guess there's a, I guess
- 34:31Speaker 6: there's a point at which you're sort of fighting against
- 34:36Speaker 6: something that's just really not working, and you're trying to
- 34:39Speaker 6: fit a square peg into a round hole, and you're
- 34:43Speaker 6: just not going to work it out. But I don't know.
- 34:48Speaker 6: Then there's the fact that it's not going to be
- 34:52Speaker 6: the honeymoon phase forever, and you get into that part
- 34:55Speaker 6: of a relationship where you do have to put conscious
- 34:58Speaker 6: effort into it. So there's a balance there.
- 35:00Speaker 1: Now, let me, Michael, when we look at these, this
- 35:03Speaker 1: is going to be a little contradictory to, you know,
- 35:06Speaker 1: what you do, which is helping people become better in
- 35:09Speaker 1: their relationships. With the millions and millions of people in
- 35:12Speaker 1: this world, why is it that we believe this one
- 35:17Speaker 1: person is the only person for us? And then we
- 35:23Speaker 1: go through some trials and tribulations in our relationship, and
- 35:26Speaker 1: we're going, oh, my God, this sucks.
- 35:28Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 35:30Speaker 1: So I, like I said, it's a little contradictory to
- 35:34Speaker 1: your job of, well, why don't I just want people
- 35:37Speaker 1: to jump around to different relationships? Because your job is
- 35:40Speaker 1: to help people become better in relationships. So why do
- 35:46Speaker 1: we feel the need to be in such, like it's
- 35:49Speaker 1: a success? Well, it is a success to be in
- 35:51Speaker 1: a long-term relationship. But why do we feel the need
- 35:54Speaker 1: to be in one?
- 35:56Speaker 6: Well, yeah, we are a species that just we couple up.
- 36:00Speaker 6: That's kind of how we do it. We form these
- 36:02Speaker 6: family groups and kind of take care of our kids together.
- 36:06Speaker 6: And we work together on projects that we couldn't do
- 36:09Speaker 6: by ourselves. This is just this is sort of who
- 36:12Speaker 6: we evolved to be are these coupling groups. Um, and again,
- 36:18Speaker 6: we've talked about these phases of relationships a lot of times,
- 36:20Speaker 6: but it bears repeating, you know, in the beginning phase, uh,
- 36:23Speaker 6: you've got all that attraction going, you've got all those
- 36:25Speaker 6: hormones flowing and everything comes real easy. It's like, you know,
- 36:29Speaker 6: somebody with a normal appetite, you don't have to tell them, uh,
- 36:33Speaker 6: Eating should be enjoyable because you just want to. It's
- 36:37Speaker 6: just this natural desire. It's fulfilling, and that's the way
- 36:41Speaker 6: a relationship is in the honeymoon phase. When that starts
- 36:44Speaker 6: to fade, you move into this role-testing kind of a
- 36:48Speaker 6: phase where you're kind of trying to figure out, okay,
- 36:50Speaker 6: how do I fit in here? Can I– Can I
- 36:53Speaker 6: get a word in edgewise? What's the power kind of
- 36:57Speaker 6: balance looking like? How are we going to kind of
- 36:59Speaker 6: live our lives without all of those hormones kind of flowing?
- 37:03Speaker 6: And it's very often during that phase that people who
- 37:06Speaker 6: don't settle down, people who do go from, like you
- 37:09Speaker 6: were saying, one relationship to another, That they kind of
- 37:12Speaker 6: burn out and they're kind of feeling like, I guess
- 37:14Speaker 6: maybe we're not in love. I'm not feeling it anymore
- 37:17Speaker 6: or it's having to be too much work right now.
- 37:20Speaker 6: I'm looking for lasting love, they convince themselves. Or maybe
- 37:24Speaker 6: they honestly believe that if it was the right relationship,
- 37:27Speaker 6: those kind of feelings would last. And they just don't.
- 37:30Speaker 6: When you work through that middle phase, that role-testing phase,
- 37:33Speaker 6: then you go into this sort of committed love phase
- 37:36Speaker 6: where you have moments of that passion, but kind of
- 37:40Speaker 6: the baseline is just, hey, we're okay together. We are
- 37:44Speaker 6: like roommates, but we're like roommates that get along really well,
- 37:46Speaker 6: and things just click. And then we have that great
- 37:49Speaker 6: weekend together, and we go out, and it's memorable, and
- 37:51Speaker 6: we take pictures. uh that's kind of what i think
- 37:56Speaker 6: that's sort of like uh as the movie title says
- 38:00Speaker 6: as good as it gets hold hold on.
- 38:02Speaker 1: To that thought about passion in the honeymoon phase versus
- 38:06Speaker 1: the next step hold on to that thought michael bean
- 38:08Speaker 1: is here uh marriage and family center so michael bean
- 38:11Speaker 1: is here for the marriage and family center 661-327-5100 good
- 38:13Speaker 1: morning michael.
- 38:17Speaker 6: Good morning.
- 38:18Speaker 1: Okay, I want to talk about this idea, when you
- 38:21Speaker 1: said this about passion, the passion you have for somebody
- 38:24Speaker 1: when you first meet them, the honeymoon phase, you can't
- 38:27Speaker 1: stop looking into each other's eyes, having sex, whatever all
- 38:30Speaker 1: that consists of, right? Being around them. Why is it
- 38:35Speaker 1: we can't, it seems like to me personally, as a
- 38:39Speaker 1: person that gets to know you more and more and
- 38:42Speaker 1: better and better, why doesn't that passion grow Because you
- 38:48Speaker 1: should feel more comfortable with them. You should feel more
- 38:50Speaker 1: comfortable talking to them. You should feel more comfortable doing
- 38:54Speaker 1: things that, you know, you want to do with each other.
- 38:58Speaker 1: But it doesn't. It seems like we tend to get
- 39:03Speaker 1: less and things get in the way. And, like, I'll
- 39:07Speaker 1: give you an example, Michael. Like, you and I have
- 39:09Speaker 1: known each other a long time. And we talk on
- 39:12Speaker 1: the phone a lot. You used to come into the studio.
- 39:15Speaker 1: Now we do it over the phone.
- 39:16Speaker 4: Right.
- 39:18Speaker 1: We talk to each other way differently now, way more
- 39:22Speaker 1: comfortably now than we did 10 years ago. You know,
- 39:26Speaker 1: we joke way more differently now than we did 10
- 39:28Speaker 1: years ago. And it seems to me, and we're just friends.
- 39:34Speaker 1: So how is it that a couple who love each
- 39:36Speaker 1: other can't progress with their passions?
- 39:42Speaker 6: Yeah, well, I would hope that you and I sort
- 39:46Speaker 6: of see each other as, hey, this is a positive
- 39:49Speaker 6: thing in our lives. Yeah. We look forward to these interactions.
- 39:52Speaker 4: Absolutely.
- 39:52Speaker 6: And so one of the things that happens, I mean,
- 39:55Speaker 6: like I talked about, the honeymoon phase has to wear
- 39:58Speaker 6: off because if it doesn't, you just can't devote that
- 40:01Speaker 6: much energy. You devote all that energy in the beginning.
- 40:04Speaker 6: You make this bond with each other. But then work
- 40:07Speaker 6: comes along. Kids come along. Life comes along.
- 40:10Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 40:10Speaker 6: And you can't, it's just literally, you can't afford it.
- 40:14Speaker 6: Like energy-wise, money-wise, time-wise, you just can't afford that kind
- 40:19Speaker 6: of investment to continue forever. So it's sort of natural
- 40:22Speaker 6: that some of that needs to back off so that
- 40:24Speaker 6: other things can kind of come in. But the problem
- 40:27Speaker 6: happens when attitude shifts start to happen. You know, you
- 40:31Speaker 6: and I, we see each other as this positive thing.
- 40:34Speaker 6: But sometimes when you're with somebody, you get these bad attitudes.
- 40:37Speaker 6: You start feeling like, oh, this person's a liability to me. Or, oh,
- 40:43Speaker 6: this person's not giving me what I deserve. Whatever that
- 40:47Speaker 6: shift is that goes from, hey, I'm looking forward to
- 40:50Speaker 6: seeing this person. Hey, we really hang out and we
- 40:51Speaker 6: have a nice time when we're together. When that shift
- 40:54Speaker 6: starts happening and you start feeling like I just have
- 40:57Speaker 6: to watch what I say around them or– because whenever
- 41:01Speaker 6: we try to discuss something or agree on something, come
- 41:04Speaker 6: up with some plan, we end up arguing and it's
- 41:07Speaker 6: ugly because we have these really bad habits of interaction
- 41:10Speaker 6: probably from our childhood or watching how our parents interacted
- 41:14Speaker 6: or just– we just got into these really bad defensive
- 41:18Speaker 6: habits with each other. And now it is like walking
- 41:21Speaker 6: on eggshells. Now it is– maybe I'll just delay going.
- 41:25Speaker 8: Home a little bit longer.
- 41:26Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 41:27Speaker 1: That can happen.
- 41:29Speaker 2: And when it.
- 41:30Speaker 6: Does, yeah, that's when you need intervention. You've got to
- 41:33Speaker 6: turn things around so that you have stuff to look
- 41:36Speaker 6: forward to again, so that you take down that negativity.
- 41:40Speaker 6: You've got to stop the wrecking ball. There are several
- 41:45Speaker 6: things that send a wrecking ball through your relationship, and
- 41:49Speaker 6: you can't build anything in a zone where this wrecking.
- 41:52Speaker 7: Ball comes shooting through every now and then.
- 41:54Speaker 6: It just bashes everything apart.
- 41:56Speaker 1: Do you have a... Well, think about this, Michael. At
- 42:00Speaker 1: what point do we look for help versus just go,
- 42:04Speaker 1: this is my life now? Hold on a second, okay?
- 42:07Speaker 1: Michael Bean is here from the Marriage and Family Center.
- 42:09Speaker 1: So Michael Bean is here from the Marriage and Family Center.
- 42:13Speaker 1: That's 661-327-5100. Michael, this idea of we getting this after
- 42:20Speaker 1: the honeymoon phase, we kind of just don't have the
- 42:23Speaker 1: energy to be as involved in the relationships As we
- 42:28Speaker 1: were to get the relationship.
- 42:30Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 42:32Speaker 1: And when you talk about needs not being met, or
- 42:34Speaker 1: you talk about feeling like this person's weighing you down,
- 42:38Speaker 1: or all of these bad habits have come into our relationship,
- 42:41Speaker 1: for whatever reason, jobs, kids, mortgages, whatever the case may be,
- 42:48Speaker 1: at what point do we look at ourselves and go,
- 42:50Speaker 1: you know what? I got to fix this.
- 42:54Speaker 3: Or.
- 42:56Speaker 1: On the other hand, this is just my life now,
- 42:58Speaker 1: so I'm going to accept it. I think society really
- 43:02Speaker 1: does tell you that you're just supposed to accept this,
- 43:09Speaker 1: as opposed to, I can fix this. Yeah.
- 43:15Speaker 6: Yeah, for a lot of people, that whole, you know,
- 43:18Speaker 6: death until death do us part thing is just not
- 43:22Speaker 6: a very good thing for a happy life. It's just
- 43:26Speaker 6: for a lot of people, they get into a relationship
- 43:28Speaker 6: that they really shouldn't have gotten into in the first place.
- 43:31Speaker 6: And so that kind of an attitude of you're supposed
- 43:34Speaker 6: to just endure it, not necessarily great for a lot
- 43:37Speaker 6: of people that got into the wrong relationship.
- 43:40Speaker 9: And.
- 43:43Speaker 6: Getting into another relationship and having the same relationship happen
- 43:47Speaker 6: again is also not a good strategy. So just leaving
- 43:51Speaker 6: this one because it's not working. See, that's how we feel.
- 43:54Speaker 6: We end up feeling like I either have to endure
- 43:57Speaker 6: this or leave it. It feels like those are the
- 44:01Speaker 6: only two options. I just have to wake up tomorrow
- 44:04Speaker 6: and feel just as crummy and just not want to
- 44:07Speaker 6: go home and not want to talk to this person
- 44:09Speaker 6: that I'm supposed to be sharing my life with. Or
- 44:12Speaker 6: I've got to go find another relationship. It feels like
- 44:15Speaker 6: those are the only two options, and they aren't. You've
- 44:20Speaker 6: probably heard that.
- 44:25Speaker 1: Oh, what was it?
- 44:26Speaker 9: Oh, yeah.
- 44:27Speaker 6: Cheaper to Keeper.
- 44:28Speaker 1: Yeah, Cheaper to Keeper.
- 44:29Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 44:30Speaker 6: And so like some people, they just feel like, well,
- 44:33Speaker 6: I got to just like, I've got to swallow my
- 44:35Speaker 6: pride and, you know, just put up with whatever's going on. Well, OK,
- 44:40Speaker 6: it's true. Literally true. It is cheaper. It is really
- 44:44Speaker 6: expensive to have. Now we're going to go through all
- 44:46Speaker 6: the legal expenses and everything else and then set up
- 44:49Speaker 6: two separate households. And now I got to buy my
- 44:51Speaker 6: own can opener and my own house that we used
- 44:56Speaker 6: to share. It is just a ton cheaper to keep her.
- 45:00Speaker 6: And so don't stop there. And therefore.
- 45:05Speaker 6: Let me ask you this. Romeo, what is the difference
- 45:08Speaker 6: between a clunker and a classic car?
- 45:12Speaker 1: One's been fixed up and one hasn't?
- 45:14Speaker 6: Exactly. TLC.
- 45:16Speaker 1: Yep. That's a good point, Michael. One I worked on
- 45:23Speaker 1: to get it clean and new and nice, and the
- 45:26Speaker 1: other one I just left. I didn't do what I
- 45:28Speaker 1: need to.
- 45:29Speaker 6: Oh, that's great.
- 45:30Speaker 9: Exactly.
- 45:30Speaker 6: If you are in a clunker relationship, it doesn't mean
- 45:33Speaker 6: you need a different car. It means you've got to
- 45:35Speaker 6: fix it up and you've got to make it nice.
- 45:37Speaker 6: You've got to make it something you're proud of and
- 45:39Speaker 6: that you're looking forward to riding in and having a
- 45:42Speaker 6: nice time with. That's the thing.
- 45:44Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 45:46Speaker 6: If you're in a clunker, you're right. Life is miserable,
- 45:49Speaker 6: but it doesn't.
- 45:50Speaker 3: Have to be a clunker.
- 45:51Speaker 6: The difference between a clunker and a classic car is TLC.
- 45:55Speaker 1: The work that you put into it. Michael Bean is
- 45:57Speaker 1: here for the Marriage and Family Center. So Michael Bean
- 45:59Speaker 1: is here for the Marriage and Family Center. Good morning, Michael.
- 46:05Speaker 1: Good morning.
- 46:07Speaker 4: 661-327-5100.
- 46:08Speaker 1: Michael, I want to explain this in the best possible
- 46:10Speaker 1: way I can. And you just jump in and help
- 46:14Speaker 1: me whenever you need me. People need to take accountability
- 46:18Speaker 1: for their own actions in their relationships. Now, I know
- 46:22Speaker 1: you had said when we were not on the radio
- 46:25Speaker 1: that I say it's not just your partner's fault. It's
- 46:29Speaker 1: your fault, too. But if we don't always blame our partner.
- 46:34Speaker 1: then it makes it tough for you to come in
- 46:35Speaker 1: and go, well, wait a second. You need to see
- 46:38Speaker 1: that you have some accountability also. Is that kind of
- 46:41Speaker 1: how you phrased it?
- 46:43Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 46:44Speaker 6: I think when you're in a relationship that's not working
- 46:46Speaker 6: out for you, it doesn't feel like that. It truly doesn't.
- 46:52Speaker 6: You look at all of the positive things that you're
- 46:55Speaker 6: trying to do to make things work. And you see those,
- 46:58Speaker 6: and then what you get back sometimes, it just feels
- 47:00Speaker 6: like a bunch of crap you get back. And it
- 47:03Speaker 6: just feels– it does. It feels completely unfair. It feels like,
- 47:07Speaker 6: why am I the one doing all the work here,
- 47:09Speaker 6: even trying? And I've got to be honest. There are
- 47:11Speaker 6: people who are hearing this and are going, man, I'm
- 47:14Speaker 6: glad somebody knows what it's like to be in an
- 47:16Speaker 6: unhappy relationship. And they hear you say that, well, you've
- 47:19Speaker 6: got to take accountability for your own actions. And they
- 47:23Speaker 6: are giving you both middle fingers. They just really are.
- 47:26Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 47:26Speaker 6: They just feel like you don't understand what I'm going through.
- 47:31Speaker 1: As a professional who's done this for years, Michael, when
- 47:36Speaker 1: you see a relationship that you've just explained, is it
- 47:39Speaker 1: obvious to you? Can you look at it and go, okay,
- 47:42Speaker 1: this is what is really happening there?
- 47:46Speaker 6: I mean, I get surprised all the time. Everybody has
- 47:51Speaker 6: a unique kind of a different dance that they're doing
- 47:54Speaker 6: that isn't working. The thing, the commonality is that they're
- 47:57Speaker 6: stepping all over each other's toes and it hurts and
- 48:00Speaker 6: they want to quit dancing. But the ways that they
- 48:03Speaker 6: go about kind of doing that are unique to them
- 48:06Speaker 6: or unique to their upbringing. And I'm always fascinated. You
- 48:11Speaker 6: would probably look at some of the stuff that I
- 48:13Speaker 6: see happening, and you would be like, people are stupid.
- 48:19Speaker 6: But I look at that same thing, and I was
- 48:21Speaker 6: just like, look at how fascinating that is. You know what?
- 48:24Speaker 6: Every time she does this, he does this other thing.
- 48:27Speaker 6: And every time he does this, she does that thing.
- 48:29Speaker 6: And look at how they're sort of dancing, and it's
- 48:31Speaker 6: just not working out for them at all. And you
- 48:33Speaker 6: would just be scratching your head saying, well, then why
- 48:35Speaker 6: don't they quit it?
- 48:36Speaker 1: Right. I guess because we've talked for so many years,
- 48:42Speaker 1: when I play out these scenarios in my head, they
- 48:45Speaker 1: seem so obvious. They seem so simple to fix. Now, obviously,
- 48:50Speaker 1: I don't have any emotional ties to these people that
- 48:53Speaker 1: are in their own relationship. So for me, it's easy
- 48:56Speaker 1: to sit there and go, you know what, that's just stupid.
- 48:58Speaker 1: If you just did this and he did that or
- 49:00Speaker 1: vice versa, you guys would be so much better off.
- 49:03Speaker 1: So I guess, but I've been talking to you for decades.
- 49:06Speaker 1: Ten years. So I just see it differently than people
- 49:10Speaker 1: who are actually in the fight and have their own
- 49:12Speaker 1: emotions and their own issues within their relationships.
- 49:15Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 49:16Speaker 6: Well, when the guy gets like twisted around in the
- 49:19Speaker 6: middle of an intersection. and the car is, like, facing
- 49:21Speaker 6: into the wrong lane, you know, and everybody's just sort
- 49:25Speaker 6: of like... sighing at them we can all see what
- 49:31Speaker 6: they need to do from their point of view they're
- 49:34Speaker 6: kind of stuck until they get it sorted out and
- 49:37Speaker 6: get their wheels pointed the right direction for all of
- 49:40Speaker 6: us looking at it it's easy for us to kind
- 49:42Speaker 6: of go well you shouldn't have done xyz and now
- 49:44Speaker 6: you gotta do abc to get yourself out of it
- 49:47Speaker 6: but that person that's in the middle of it they're
- 49:49Speaker 6: just frustrated they're embarrassed they are just like i just
- 49:53Speaker 6: do not want.
- 49:54Speaker 1: To be here at all Okay, so I had to
- 49:56Speaker 1: talk to Michael, being from the Marriage and Family Center,
- 50:01Speaker 1: so I'll get back to all your football texts here
- 50:02Speaker 1: in just a minute. What did you send me here? Hey, Rome,
- 50:06Speaker 1: I think the honeymoon stage only lasts for so long
- 50:09Speaker 1: because you're trying to impress someone. You try to impress
- 50:11Speaker 1: them with the way you look, the way you move,
- 50:13Speaker 1: the way you act. You try and maybe learn a
- 50:16Speaker 1: new skill to show off or show off the skills
- 50:20Speaker 1: you already have. The years go by. You get lazy.
- 50:24Speaker 1: You get sloppy. You get comfortable. You don't care if
- 50:29Speaker 1: you get fat. You might develop a new bad habit.
- 50:32Speaker 1: And in those years, they eventually do something to piss
- 50:35Speaker 1: you off. They show their true colors years later after
- 50:40Speaker 1: you've already been super committed to or built a relationship
- 50:44Speaker 1: or a family together, not too many people keep that
- 50:47Speaker 1: fire burning forever. I truly blame it on getting too
- 50:51Speaker 1: comfortable and lazy and not taking care of yourself because,
- 50:55Speaker 1: in my opinion, if your partner stays looking good, that's
- 50:59Speaker 1: something that is important. Even if you're not super financially
- 51:03Speaker 1: successful or didn't financially grow, looking good is usually why
- 51:07Speaker 1: you fall for them in the first place.
- 51:11Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 51:13Speaker 1: I think the way you look has a lot to
- 51:17Speaker 1: do with the fire and the passion of a long-term relationship.
- 51:22Speaker 1: But I think it's not just you or it's not
- 51:26Speaker 1: just your partner. I think people feel better when they
- 51:32Speaker 1: look better. You feel better when you dress better. You
- 51:43Speaker 1: feel better when you're in better shape. When you feel
- 51:48Speaker 1: like you look good, yourself, not your partner, but your
- 51:53Speaker 1: partner can stay hot and you find that attractive. But
- 51:57Speaker 1: when you stay, quote unquote, hot or in shape, you
- 52:02Speaker 1: feel better about yourself. You have a little more pride
- 52:04Speaker 1: in yourself. You're not embarrassed of yourself. So it works well.
- 52:11Speaker 1: Like you say, it works. You fall for somebody a
- 52:15Speaker 1: lot of times because of the way they look. And
- 52:18Speaker 1: when they're hot and in great shape, you're hot and
- 52:20Speaker 1: you're in great shape. And then you let yourself go.
- 52:25Speaker 1: Not only are you not attracted to your partner, but
- 52:27Speaker 1: you also don't feel good about yourself. And it has
- 52:29Speaker 1: nothing to do with your partner. So I agree. But
- 52:33Speaker 1: you also have to look at yourself, not just your partner.
- 52:36Speaker 1: Let me get back to these texts. We were talking
- 52:38Speaker 1: about football earlier today. And let me get back to
- 52:42Speaker 1: these text messages. Romeo, what is it? What did you
- 52:50Speaker 1: send me? Hey, Buffalo is good until January, Rome. Well,
- 52:56Speaker 1: I just think Casey can't beat. I just think Buffalo
- 52:59Speaker 1: is afraid of Casey. I think Josh Allen has, you know,
- 53:03Speaker 1: he's just worried every time. He just got ghosts in
- 53:05Speaker 1: his head, man. You know, he's playing against ghosts. Rome,
- 53:09Speaker 1: KC played Denver, not the, oh, sorry, yeah. KC played Denver,
- 53:13Speaker 1: not the Chargers. The Chargers lost to the Cardinals and
- 53:16Speaker 1: then the Raiders. Okay, thanks for, yeah, I did say that.
- 53:18Speaker 1: I thought I made a mistake. Rome, Bills can beat
- 53:22Speaker 1: the Chiefs in the regular season, but the Chiefs own
- 53:24Speaker 1: them in postseason. But we will see if it's any
- 53:28Speaker 1: different this year. I mean, the bottom line is this.
- 53:32Speaker 1: When it comes to what's happened over the last 10 years,
- 53:35Speaker 1: Patrick Mahomes has just owned the NFL for, what, the
- 53:39Speaker 1: last eight years, nine years? This is his 10th year
- 53:41Speaker 1: in the league, so for the last 10 years, he's
- 53:43Speaker 1: owned the NFL. That's a good run, you know? I
- 53:48Speaker 1: think Tom Brady, he did it in two 10-year spurts, right? So, yeah,
- 53:52Speaker 1: it's a good run. I mean, things can obviously change, but,
- 53:55Speaker 1: you know. Hey, what up, Rome? Master debater here. Sorry
- 53:59Speaker 1: for the last guy. I said I was a debater
- 54:02Speaker 1: and not a delulu. Oh, delusional. My apologies. On behalf
- 54:07Speaker 1: of Less advantage like Raider Dave. Yeah, Raider Dave's a dumbass.
- 54:13Speaker 1: He tries, though. You got to give him credit for
- 54:14Speaker 1: trying to be smarter than he thinks he is. Hey, see, Romeo,
- 54:18Speaker 1: Raider fans can't get nothing nice because they start acting
- 54:21Speaker 1: up two wins and they're going to go into the
- 54:24Speaker 1: Super Bowl. What's sad about it, though, is it's two
- 54:28Speaker 1: wins against two of the worst teams in the NFL.
- 54:32Speaker 1: It's not even... If one of the wins was at
- 54:35Speaker 1: least against a legitimate team... We might be able to
- 54:38Speaker 1: have a conversation. Hey, Rome, Headbutt Raider here. Please don't
- 54:43Speaker 1: put me in the category of these other Raider fans
- 54:45Speaker 1: like Raider Dave. As a Raider fan, we should just
- 54:47Speaker 1: be happy with we're doing better than last year. Understand talent-wise,
- 54:53Speaker 1: we're just not there yet, but definitely going in the
- 54:57Speaker 1: right direction. On another note, if we beat the Saints
- 55:00Speaker 1: this weekend, oh, I'm going to call and tell you
- 55:03Speaker 1: Raiders are Super Bowl bound. Are the Saints good? I
- 55:08Speaker 1: don't know. To me, the Saints are just another mediocre
- 55:11Speaker 1: team on the level of the Chargers or the Dolphins. Hey, Rome,
- 55:17Speaker 1: you've been breaking hearts of Raider fans since 2003. Hey, Rome,
- 55:27Speaker 1: would you make a good song for the Raider fans
- 55:29Speaker 1: if they make the playoffs?
- 55:30Speaker 4: No.
- 55:30Speaker 1: No. The Raiders are sorry. They're always going to be
- 55:35Speaker 1: sorry until they... I don't even know what would make
- 55:38Speaker 1: the Raiders better, to be honest with you. I have
- 55:41Speaker 1: no idea because... Yeah, I don't know. They just need
- 55:45Speaker 1: to get... You know what the Raiders need? And this is...
- 55:47Speaker 1: The Raiders need to update their ownership. You know? You know,
- 55:51Speaker 1: they're just... They live in the past. Al Davis is dead.
- 55:55Speaker 1: Al Davis had a great run. If Al Davis was
- 55:57Speaker 1: alive today, the Raiders would still suck. Because... It doesn't
- 56:03Speaker 1: work anymore, man. You got to update. You got to
- 56:05Speaker 1: move forward. And the Raiders don't. The Cowboys don't either.
- 56:08Speaker 1: That's why Jerry Jones sucks. Hey, Rome, AUF and Chiefs fan,
- 56:14Speaker 1: Mahomes is the Bills' daddy. Bills can't get over that hump. Yeah,
- 56:19Speaker 1: he got some, yeah. Yeah, Mahomes, I think the Chiefs
- 56:24Speaker 1: are in the Bills' head. Well, now they got the
- 56:26Speaker 1: new coach, though, right? Or do they not? I don't remember. Yo, Rome,
- 56:31Speaker 1: Jerry Jones is like Trump. Um, okay. I don't know
- 56:35Speaker 1: what that means. Good morning. Now what's going on?
- 56:37Speaker 7: What's going on Rome?
- 56:38Speaker 3: Chilly gilly.
- 56:40Speaker 10: Not a whole lot. Hey, you know, one thing I
- 56:42Speaker 10: wanted to talk to you about the other day was
- 56:45Speaker 10: the toughness of the quarterback position, because here you had
- 56:50Speaker 10: Jackson dart, you know, totally messing up his knee and
- 56:54Speaker 10: he walks off the field and And me and you,
- 56:58Speaker 10: both as USD fans, Caleb William is a bitch.
- 57:04Speaker 3: You know, we known that when he was at USD.
- 57:07Speaker 3: He had a pulled hamstring. Bring the cord! Bring the cord!
- 57:15Speaker 1: Oh, we were having that conversation on Monday Night Football
- 57:17Speaker 1: with some guys. Were you really? Yeah. They were laughing.
- 57:22Speaker 1: There were some Rams fans laughing. Did you see him crying?
- 57:24Speaker 1: I said, well, yeah, but you don't know. I said,
- 57:27Speaker 1: he's a professional athlete, though. You and I pull a hamstring.
- 57:29Speaker 1: We ain't going out for a month, but he's a
- 57:31Speaker 1: professional athlete. He should be there.
- 57:34Speaker 4: Yeah, I don't know.
- 57:35Speaker 7: Yeah, exactly.
- 57:36Speaker 10: There hasn't been, listen, and I know it's going to
- 57:39Speaker 10: sound like I'm biased, but I'm going to tell you
- 57:41Speaker 10: one thing. Big Ben was one tough son of a gun, man.
- 57:45Speaker 10: They don't make him like that no more.
- 57:47Speaker 3: Because he went out there with a broken foot. He
- 57:51Speaker 3: went when he had a busted up knee.
- 57:53Speaker 10: And, you know, Mason Rudolph was... you know, in the
- 57:58Speaker 10: bed and they had to bring him in and we
- 58:00Speaker 10: ended up winning the game. You know, I mean, he
- 58:02Speaker 10: was just one tough son.
- 58:04Speaker 1: Of a gun.
- 58:06Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 58:06Speaker 10: Anyway, I just wanted to talk to you about Caleb Williams.
- 58:09Speaker 10: Cause we are both USC fans. And I said, he
- 58:11Speaker 10: was over there too.
- 58:14Speaker 3: All right. Later brother.
- 58:15Speaker 1: I mean, I don't know. You can't judge how somebody
- 58:19Speaker 1: is going to handle pain. So I get it. Um,
- 58:23Speaker 1: I get it, but I don't know. Good morning, how's
- 58:27Speaker 1: it going on?
- 58:28Speaker 3: Hey, what's up, Rome?
- 58:29Speaker 1: Hey, Roman, what up, man?
- 58:30Speaker 3: Man, I got this buddy I ran into, and I'm
- 58:32Speaker 3: going to put his, you know, I never put names
- 58:34Speaker 3: out there, but I got to on this one, Rome.
- 58:35Speaker 3: So my boy, Manuel, I ran into him, and he
- 58:39Speaker 3: walks up first, and he says, it's our year, bro,
- 58:41Speaker 3: it's our year. And he's a Raider fan, you know,
- 58:42Speaker 3: I'm a Cowboy fan. It's our year, we're going, bro,
- 58:45Speaker 3: we're going to Super Bowl. Both our teams are going
- 58:47Speaker 3: to go, dude, are you seriously? Bro, he got so
- 58:51Speaker 3: upset with me, Rome, because he said, you're not a
- 58:53Speaker 3: real fan because you don't even believe in your own team.
- 58:55Speaker 3: I said, I'm just not a dumbass.
- 58:57Speaker 1: Well, yeah, there is some legitimacy to that.
- 59:00Speaker 3: I said, you know I keep it real. I said,
- 59:02Speaker 3: our team ain't gonna do anything and it's just like
- 59:04Speaker 3: you just said rome i i said cowboys ain't gonna
- 59:07Speaker 3: do nothing until a couple years after the owner.
- 59:09Speaker 1: Dies yeah he's holding them back.
- 59:12Speaker 5: Something do something i didn't even say super bowl yet
- 59:15Speaker 5: you know what i mean i'm saying something better.
- 59:17Speaker 3: But he he asked he asked the croak.
- 59:18Speaker 5: Bro let go because it's just the old school way
- 59:21Speaker 5: ain't working anymore for them it's.
- 59:23Speaker 1: Not it's not And a lot of these coaches are
- 59:25Speaker 1: learning that as well.
- 59:26Speaker 3: I'm sorry, bro, but, you know, if you can't do
- 59:28Speaker 3: me a favor, bro, send him out a Raiders. I'm
- 59:30Speaker 3: one of the old school ones, bro.
- 59:33Speaker 1: Okay.
- 59:34Speaker 4: All right.
- 59:34Speaker 1: I will.
- 59:35Speaker 3: That's just a special dedication to you.
- 59:36Speaker 1: Well, all right. All right. Well, the thing about it
- 59:40Speaker 1: is this. The thing is, happy people in happy homes
- 59:47Speaker 1: don't overreact and act ignorant like Raider fans do. You
- 59:52Speaker 1: know what I'm saying? And I know Raider fans that
- 59:55Speaker 1: are very happy. They have great lives, great jobs, good kids,
- 59:59Speaker 1: good wives. And they don't even act like that. They're
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: not running around going, we're 2-0, we're going to the
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: Super Bowl. It's just unhappy people have to find something
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: to make them feel better. For Raider fans, it's 2-0
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: against two of the worst teams in the NFL. Hey.
- 1:00:15Speaker 9: Hey.
- 1:00:16Speaker 1: You got to let them have it. You got to
- 1:00:18Speaker 1: let them have it because this might be the happiest
- 1:00:21Speaker 1: they're ever going to be in their life. My buddy,
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: my boy. Oh, this kid. He's been talking about fair
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: food for a week. I think he's going tomorrow. I
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: think is what he said. He said he's going to
- 1:00:38Speaker 1: go eat at the fair like a fat kid. But, yeah,
- 1:00:42Speaker 1: he's going to get some funnel cake. He's going to
- 1:00:44Speaker 1: get him some– corn dogs, the fair started. So it's
- 1:00:51Speaker 1: time fair food. I, you know, I gotta be honest
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: with you. I have not. Um, I think I went
- 1:00:57Speaker 1: to the fair last year, maybe the year before. Also,
- 1:00:59Speaker 1: I don't go to the fair as much anymore when I,
- 1:01:01Speaker 1: since I don't have to work out there anymore, but, um,
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: I couldn't tell you the last time. I think the
- 1:01:07Speaker 1: last time I had something from the fair wasn't even
- 1:01:10Speaker 1: from the fair in, uh, the current County fair. I
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: think it was from the fair, uh, from the mid
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: state fair. And it might've been about four or five
- 1:01:17Speaker 1: years ago. I had a corn. It might've been longer
- 1:01:19Speaker 1: than that. What's going on?
- 1:01:21Speaker 6: Hey, Rome.
- 1:01:22Speaker 3: Um, I was just calling to see if you got
- 1:01:24Speaker 3: any Disney on nightstick is my daughter's birthday is coming up, brother.
- 1:01:27Speaker 7: Nope.
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: I don't have any right now.
- 1:01:29Speaker 4: Alrighty.
- 1:01:30Speaker 1: Thank you. All right, man.
- 1:01:31Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 1:01:31Speaker 1: You can't, uh, you know, I'm not hooking up. Nobody's,
- 1:01:35Speaker 1: I'm not hooking up birthdays no more. All right. You
- 1:01:37Speaker 1: got to come. You got to take care of your
- 1:01:40Speaker 1: own birthdays. Okay. I'm sorry, but you got to take
- 1:01:42Speaker 1: care of your own birthdays. Um, But back to the fair. So, yeah,
- 1:01:48Speaker 1: it's been a long time, man. I bet I haven't had,
- 1:01:51Speaker 1: I bet it's been about five or six years that
- 1:01:55Speaker 1: I've eaten at the fair. I mean, not for any
- 1:01:58Speaker 1: other reason than I just, well, maybe I can't afford it.
- 1:02:01Speaker 1: But I don't even know what's out there anymore. I mean, traditionally,
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: it's just the corn dog, right? You go out to
- 1:02:08Speaker 1: the fair for a corn dog. I don't know if
- 1:02:10Speaker 1: my boy, I got a friend who used to go
- 1:02:12Speaker 1: out there every day for lunch. while the fair was
- 1:02:16Speaker 1: in town. I don't know if he still does that.
- 1:02:19Speaker 1: But what is your favorite food at the fair now?
- 1:02:23Speaker 1: I mean, it was the.
- 1:02:27Speaker 1: Gosh, I can't even picture the... I can't even picture.
- 1:02:30Speaker 1: What does the Kern County Fair have? Have you guys
- 1:02:33Speaker 1: been out? Who went out yesterday? And what is your
- 1:02:35Speaker 1: favorite food? I think the last time.
- 1:02:37Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:02:39Speaker 1: Yeah. I can't even think right now. R-8-4-2-5-4-7-7. I know
- 1:02:44Speaker 1: the beer's always good at the fair. I do like
- 1:02:46Speaker 1: the beer at the fair. Is it the fireman? I
- 1:02:49Speaker 1: can't remember last year where I went. The fireman's? Maybe
- 1:02:52Speaker 1: it was the fireman's place out there by the animals.
- 1:02:59Speaker 1: The beer was good. I didn't have anything to eat, though.
- 1:03:02Speaker 1: Already 4-2-5-4, 7-7. So what's your go-to? What do you
- 1:03:08Speaker 1: got to get? Some of you will go out to
- 1:03:09Speaker 1: the fair just for the food, like my boy Arnold.
- 1:03:13Speaker 1: He's going to go out just for the food.
- 1:03:14Speaker 2: Well, Arnold, man, since you put me on the spot,
- 1:03:16Speaker 2: I got a call.
- 1:03:19Speaker 5: Well?
- 1:03:21Speaker 2: Well, to start, it's going to be a corn dog,
- 1:03:23Speaker 2: then it's going to be flash fries, and it's going
- 1:03:26Speaker 2: to be probably a polo sausage, and then a funnel cake.
- 1:03:31Speaker 2: And then probably come back around for some deep fried
- 1:03:33Speaker 2: Twinkies and then a cinnamon roll from the spot down
- 1:03:37Speaker 2: in Pismo. And then, you know, whatever else tickles my fancy, man,
- 1:03:40Speaker 2: you know. That's why I've been working out hard this
- 1:03:42Speaker 2: week so I can, you know, get to that point.
- 1:03:45Speaker 3: So it won't hit me as much.
- 1:03:47Speaker 1: How do you believe? Did you say a fried Twinkie?
- 1:03:51Speaker 2: Yeah, a deep fried Twinkie.
- 1:03:52Speaker 1: Oh, hell no.
- 1:03:54Speaker 3: Come on, man.
- 1:03:55Speaker 2: It's the fare. The grease is just different at the fare.
- 1:03:59Speaker 2: Maybe it's like from 20 years ago, but it just,
- 1:04:02Speaker 2: it don't taste like.
- 1:04:03Speaker 6: You know, any other place.
- 1:04:05Speaker 1: He said they got different grease at the fare.
- 1:04:08Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 1:04:08Speaker 2: I don't know if it's like peanut.
- 1:04:10Speaker 4: Oil or whatever it is, man.
- 1:04:12Speaker 2: Maybe it's just the lard that my grandma used to
- 1:04:14Speaker 2: use and.
- 1:04:15Speaker 4: Just scoop it out.
- 1:04:15Speaker 9: Damn.
- 1:04:21Speaker 2: It just goes different. I mean, that's why we were
- 1:04:24Speaker 2: going hard this week. I'm trying to convince you to go,
- 1:04:26Speaker 2: but you won't take the bait, sir.
- 1:04:27Speaker 1: No, I will not eat fair food.
- 1:04:30Speaker 3: Come on, but you'll get.
- 1:04:31Speaker 2: On a fair ride, but you won't eat the food.
- 1:04:32Speaker 1: I'll get on a fair ride, but I won't eat
- 1:04:34Speaker 1: the food. But I don't look like you, man. You're
- 1:04:36Speaker 1: 6'2 with a six-pack. I'm 5'9 with a fat, with
- 1:04:40Speaker 1: a beer gut. I can't be eating fair food.
- 1:04:42Speaker 2: I'll look like you by the time I leave here.
- 1:04:44Speaker 1: How about that? Get out of here.
- 1:04:47Speaker 3: Later. Damn, Rome, I got to agree with Arnold, bro.
- 1:04:52Speaker 5: I've been working hard, Rome. You know, I coach for
- 1:04:55Speaker 5: that club team now, and they put me in a
- 1:04:57Speaker 5: 3X Nike, you know, dry fit jersey, so I had
- 1:05:00Speaker 5: to lose weight to, you know, fit in my shirt.
- 1:05:02Speaker 5: So I've been working hard, Rome, but I tell you what,
- 1:05:04Speaker 5: my birthday's on Monday. We going to the fair. Well,
- 1:05:07Speaker 5: first I'm going to do some masala for lunch, but
- 1:05:09Speaker 5: then we going to the fair, and I told the kids,
- 1:05:12Speaker 5: I'm going to tear it up. I'm going to get walking, get.
- 1:05:13Speaker 3: Me a corn dog, you know what I mean?
- 1:05:16Speaker 5: Maybe get me a funnel cake to walk around for
- 1:05:18Speaker 5: a little sweet taste. And at the end of the night,
- 1:05:20Speaker 5: I'll probably go hit that, where they have the feta fries,
- 1:05:23Speaker 5: the Italian food.
- 1:05:24Speaker 3: You know what I mean? Try some of their stuff.
- 1:05:27Speaker 5: Feta fries?
- 1:05:28Speaker 1: Feta fries.
- 1:05:29Speaker 5: Yeah, there's some feta fries, but they're like Greek fries.
- 1:05:32Speaker 1: I never heard of that, but okay.
- 1:05:34Speaker 3: Oh, man, Rome, it's that little Greek place right there.
- 1:05:36Speaker 1: Sure.
- 1:05:37Speaker 3: You got to try them. I didn't want to try them,
- 1:05:39Speaker 3: but the people walk by, and they look good, and
- 1:05:40Speaker 3: they smell good. I'll tell you what, I've been hooked
- 1:05:42Speaker 3: for the last four years.
- 1:05:44Speaker 1: I'm almost positive I will not go to the fair
- 1:05:46Speaker 1: this year.
- 1:05:47Speaker 3: So, I.
- 1:05:48Speaker 1: I'll have to take your word for it, Ruben.
- 1:05:50Speaker 3: Well, we're going to hit it on Monday for my birthday,
- 1:05:52Speaker 3: you know what I mean? So I told the kids,
- 1:05:55Speaker 3: they're like, Dad, you mean you don't want to barbecue us?
- 1:05:57Speaker 3: And I want to go tear it up at the carnival.
- 1:05:58Speaker 3: All right, Ruben. Like I said, we cook you some
- 1:06:05Speaker 3: masala or something during lunch. I'm thinking about doing some
- 1:06:08Speaker 3: tripas on the disco.
- 1:06:11Speaker 1: That sounds good.
- 1:06:12Speaker 3: Just for lunch, because it's my birthday, I got to
- 1:06:14Speaker 3: at least get started at home, you know what I mean?
- 1:06:16Speaker 1: All right, Ruben.
- 1:06:17Speaker 3: Yeah, tell Arnold he want to come join me. Let's
- 1:06:20Speaker 3: do it, bro. But that fried Twinkie, dude, that's like
- 1:06:23Speaker 3: a sponge and oil, bro. I can't go there.
- 1:06:25Speaker 1: By the time Arnold leaves the fair, he's going to
- 1:06:27Speaker 1: look like a fried Twinkie.
- 1:06:31Speaker 8: Romeo, I like going for the barbecue and the funnel cakes.
- 1:06:36Speaker 1: What barbecue?
- 1:06:37Speaker 8: They got some pulled pork right there.
- 1:06:39Speaker 3: It's over by the.
- 1:06:42Speaker 8: Petting where the animals are at. We have a nice
- 1:06:46Speaker 8: little barbecue place where they sell a lot of pulled
- 1:06:48Speaker 8: pork and different stuff. But I have a question, Romeo.
- 1:06:52Speaker 8: You know how we were talking about backpacks and ice chips?
- 1:06:56Speaker 7: Mm-hmm.
- 1:06:57Speaker 3: Am I cheap?
- 1:06:58Speaker 8: Since I'm going to be there like six times, am
- 1:07:01Speaker 8: I cheap for eating before I go so I don't
- 1:07:03Speaker 8: have to buy nothing?
- 1:07:06Speaker 1: At the fair?
- 1:07:07Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:07:07Speaker 8: Can I pregame and go buy me some cheap food
- 1:07:10Speaker 8: so I don't have to buy no expensive food?
- 1:07:11Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:07:12Speaker 1: Why would that be wrong?
- 1:07:14Speaker 8: I just wasn't sure if you frowned upon that.
- 1:07:16Speaker 3: Or you were okay with it.
- 1:07:17Speaker 1: Well, the fair is not just for the food. There
- 1:07:19Speaker 1: are people that go for just for the food because
- 1:07:22Speaker 1: they want something that only the problem with the fair
- 1:07:25Speaker 1: is this. And it's not a problem. It's there are
- 1:07:28Speaker 1: certain things you can only get when the fair is
- 1:07:31Speaker 1: in town. So you have to go get what you
- 1:07:34Speaker 1: get when the fair's in town. But if you're not
- 1:07:36Speaker 1: a fair food guy, it doesn't matter. Eat before you go.
- 1:07:42Speaker 1: You're cheap when you make your kids eat before they
- 1:07:45Speaker 1: go because kids do want fair food. That's when you're cheap.
- 1:07:49Speaker 8: No, no, I'm not worried about that. It's just I'm
- 1:07:52Speaker 8: not an out-in-public, Lizzie, corndogs-eating type of person because everybody's
- 1:07:57Speaker 8: taking pictures and stuff. So I'll probably pregame and eat
- 1:08:00Speaker 8: before I go there. All right, all right.
- 1:08:03Speaker 2: Yeah, all right.
- 1:08:04Speaker 1: I don't care about all that. I mean, if you're
- 1:08:06Speaker 1: not a fair guy, like if you're not, like when
- 1:08:10Speaker 1: I go to the fair, I don't eat the fair food.
- 1:08:12Speaker 1: Not because it's not good. It's just, you know, I
- 1:08:15Speaker 1: can't afford to eat that food. Not financially, but calorie-wise,
- 1:08:19Speaker 1: I can't afford to eat that food in my life.
- 1:08:21Speaker 1: You know? Some people can. Some people don't care. R-A-4-2-5-4-7-7. Yo, Rome.
- 1:08:28Speaker 1: I go for that pickled tongue sandwich from the Basque place.
- 1:08:35Speaker 1: That does not sound good. I had some tongue tacos before. Oh,
- 1:08:39Speaker 1: that does not sound great. Rome, when I was pregnant,
- 1:08:41Speaker 1: I would kill for a turkey leg. What? I mean,
- 1:08:47Speaker 1: there's just some things you can only get at the
- 1:08:51Speaker 1: fair when the fair gets here, okay? So I understand that.
- 1:08:55Speaker 1: My boy Arnold's just going out there to just indulge, overindulge.
- 1:09:00Speaker 1: He's going wild out at the fair food. What do
- 1:09:04Speaker 1: you got here? Hey, Rome, it's Niner Nick. 49er fans
- 1:09:07Speaker 1: already acting like they won the Super Bowl. Play that
- 1:09:10Speaker 1: damn bandwagon song. 49ers fans are idiots. They're all a
- 1:09:15Speaker 1: bunch of bandwagoners. You can't listen to them. Hey, Rome,
- 1:09:18Speaker 1: you giving away some fair tickets? I got some fair
- 1:09:20Speaker 1: tickets I could give away, I guess. Rome, we go
- 1:09:24Speaker 1: for the goat show. My daughter shows goats. We'll be
- 1:09:28Speaker 1: there starting today to the end of the fair every day.
- 1:09:32Speaker 1: It is kind of fun going and seeing the animals.
- 1:09:34Speaker 1: That's kind of fun. All right, 8-4-2-5-4-7-7. What did you
- 1:09:37Speaker 1: send me here? Hey, Rome, one thing I have to say. Oh, no,
- 1:09:44Speaker 1: that's something else. Hold on. And, Romeo, don't forget to
- 1:09:48Speaker 1: remind people that you can take your own drinks and
- 1:09:52Speaker 1: food into the fair. Gatorades, Capri Suns, water bottles, as
- 1:09:57Speaker 1: long as it's all closed and you can take it in.
- 1:10:00Speaker 1: I always take my kids snacks and stuff and we'll
- 1:10:04Speaker 1: eat a meal there. But while we're waiting in line,
- 1:10:12Speaker 1: the kids have chips, Uncrustables, etc. People seem to forget
- 1:10:17Speaker 1: you can take your own stuff, especially if you have kids.
- 1:10:21Speaker 1: The bracelets and the amenities alone are expensive to save
- 1:10:24Speaker 1: where you can. Oh, I didn't know that. I didn't
- 1:10:27Speaker 1: even know that. Yo, Rome, Raider Dave has to eat
- 1:10:30Speaker 1: before he gets there because they don't accept EBT at
- 1:10:33Speaker 1: the fair.
- 1:10:34Speaker 7: Nice.
- 1:10:36Speaker 1: Rome, I go to the fair for the kettle corn
- 1:10:38Speaker 1: and turkey leg and bucket of fries and lamb sandwiches.
- 1:10:43Speaker 1: Raider Rob.
- 1:10:45Speaker 5: All right.
- 1:10:46Speaker 1: Fair's going on.
- 1:10:46Speaker 6: Hello?
- 1:10:48Speaker 9: Hello.
- 1:10:49Speaker 4: Yeah, turn your radio down.
- 1:10:55Speaker 9: All right.
- 1:10:56Speaker 1: Yeah, what you want?
- 1:10:58Speaker 3: Well, so now you got some fair tickets or what?
- 1:11:00Speaker 1: No, you can't even call without turning the radio down.
- 1:11:03Speaker 1: Come on, man. You got to know the rules before
- 1:11:05Speaker 1: you call.
- 1:11:06Speaker 8: I don't know the rules. I'm at work right now,
- 1:11:09Speaker 8: so I get it in when I can.
- 1:11:10Speaker 1: And you can't cuss on the radio, man. What's wrong
- 1:11:15Speaker 1: with you? Hey, what's your name, man?
- 1:11:20Speaker 10: Eric.
- 1:11:20Speaker 9: Eric?
- 1:11:22Speaker 1: Yes sir yeah give me some fair tickets hold on
- 1:11:24Speaker 1: here let me see man you broke every rule in
- 1:11:27Speaker 1: the book when you called and i'm still gonna give
- 1:11:29Speaker 1: you some fair tickets.
- 1:11:30Speaker 10: Oh yeah i appreciate it oh man.
- 1:11:35Speaker 1: All right um what is today today's thursday right all
- 1:11:38Speaker 1: right eight four two five four seven seven let me
- 1:11:41Speaker 1: get these text messages real quick um Hey, good morning, Rome.
- 1:11:46Speaker 1: I'm here listening to you waiting on them Disney on
- 1:11:48Speaker 1: Ice tickets for my 10-year-old daughter, trying to surprise her
- 1:11:51Speaker 1: after school. Let me see what we got here. Hey, Rome,
- 1:11:55Speaker 1: this is Seagaloo. I love to go to the fair,
- 1:11:58Speaker 1: get those churros for me and the kids, go to
- 1:12:02Speaker 1: the petting zoo area. It's so much fun. I mean,
- 1:12:04Speaker 1: the fair can be fun. You ain't lying. Hey, Rome,
- 1:12:07Speaker 1: I have to say my income tax return all last year.
- 1:12:10Speaker 10: Wait.
- 1:12:12Speaker 1: I have to save my income tax return all year
- 1:12:16Speaker 1: just to take my wife and my three kids to
- 1:12:18Speaker 1: the fair. Every year, everything goes up. It's like the
- 1:12:21Speaker 1: same price like going to Disneyland. I was thinking about
- 1:12:24Speaker 1: a little bit of that, man. Ruben, nobody cares if
- 1:12:28Speaker 1: it's his birthday or if he's going to fit a
- 1:12:31Speaker 1: foot-long corn dog in his mouth. Go cut some grass.
- 1:12:36Speaker 1: I do got to say this, and I agree with
- 1:12:38Speaker 1: you on saying this. if you a grown man, your
- 1:12:41Speaker 1: birthdays don't count, you know, and, and, and if your
- 1:12:46Speaker 1: birthday is, doesn't fall on 21, 18, 16, 18, up
- 1:12:54Speaker 1: until 18, all your birthdays count, after that, it's 21,
- 1:12:59Speaker 1: it's 40, it's 50, and that's probably it, okay, stop
- 1:13:04Speaker 1: acting like your birthday matter, like you 37, and your
- 1:13:07Speaker 1: birthday matters. Don't nobody care. Stop acting like your birthday
- 1:13:10Speaker 1: is a special event, okay? It is not.
- 1:13:14Speaker 5: Hey, good morning, Romeo.
- 1:13:15Speaker 3: What up, man?
- 1:13:16Speaker 10: Man, I'm so excited for my birthday on Monday.
- 1:13:20Speaker 6: I'm going to make some carne asada.
- 1:13:24Speaker 3: I think I might go to the fair, too.
- 1:13:29Speaker 1: Oh, you guys, get out of here. Good morning, y'all.
- 1:13:32Speaker 1: What's going on? Good morning, y'all. What's going on?
- 1:13:35Speaker 3: Morning, Romeo.
- 1:13:36Speaker 4: What up, man?
- 1:13:37Speaker 9: Is there a cue to call for the fare tickets? Like,
- 1:13:39Speaker 9: do we got to hear Ruben munching on the corndog?
- 1:13:46Speaker 9: Raider Dave eating that pool park sandwich?
- 1:13:48Speaker 1: I just gave away some fare tickets. Let me see
- 1:13:51Speaker 1: if I got any more. Hold on a second. I
- 1:13:54Speaker 1: might have some more fare tickets. Oh, I do got
- 1:13:55Speaker 1: some more fare tickets. All right, man.
- 1:13:57Speaker 4: What's your name?
- 1:13:57Speaker 1: Hold on a second.
- 1:13:58Speaker 3: Thank you, Rome.
- 1:13:59Speaker 2: All right.
- 1:13:59Speaker 5: Hold on.
- 1:14:00Speaker 6: 425477.
- 1:14:00Speaker 1: What you got here? What did you send me?
- 1:14:07Speaker 4: Hey, Rome.
- 1:14:09Speaker 1: We go to the fair annually and have wanted to
- 1:14:11Speaker 1: try chili verde baked potatoes. And the line is always
- 1:14:15Speaker 1: ridiculously long, so we'll be trying again this year. If
- 1:14:18Speaker 1: you want a great chili verde baked potato, man, you
- 1:14:20Speaker 1: need to go to Torres Catering out in Lowe's. Man,
- 1:14:23Speaker 1: those boys put it down. They put it down.
- 1:14:27Speaker 5: Hey, Rome, all these EBT fans hating on me because
- 1:14:30Speaker 5: I get to go to the fair and eat at
- 1:14:31Speaker 5: the fair.
- 1:14:31Speaker 3: And they can't go. Man, I tell them quit being suckers.
- 1:14:34Speaker 3: Quit hating, fool. You got to straight. That's what you,
- 1:14:37Speaker 3: you know, people, they don't, you know, they call and
- 1:14:39Speaker 3: they say this and that, Rome. That's the true definition
- 1:14:42Speaker 3: of straight haters.
- 1:14:44Speaker 5: Well, I mean, don't be mad because I'm going to
- 1:14:46Speaker 5: take Monday off and I'm going to start cooking early
- 1:14:48Speaker 5: in the morning and do stuff. Don't hate, bro, because
- 1:14:51Speaker 5: you can't afford the carne asada either anymore. Matter of fact, Rome,
- 1:14:55Speaker 5: I'm going to send you a picture of Ranchera to
- 1:14:57Speaker 5: make him.
- 1:14:57Speaker 1: Even more madder because he.
- 1:14:59Speaker 3: Can't afford it. He's an EZT fan. Stop what they're hating.
- 1:15:03Speaker 1: All right.
- 1:15:04Speaker 5: Rome, haters are sucker types, and that's the straight category
- 1:15:07Speaker 5: they all fall in.
- 1:15:09Speaker 6: All right, man.
- 1:15:10Speaker 3: Hey, Rome.
- 1:15:11Speaker 5: And then he.
- 1:15:13Speaker 3: Still wants free tickets. That was a Raider fan, fool.
- 1:15:17Speaker 3: That was a Raider fan. Oh, thank you, Rome.
- 1:15:22Speaker 4: All right.
- 1:15:22Speaker 2: Get out of here, Rome.
- 1:15:23Speaker 1: All right. Yeah, I just don't think a grown man
- 1:15:27Speaker 1: should celebrate his birthday. If you want to have an
- 1:15:29Speaker 1: excuse to go out, and I'll just talk about birthdays.
- 1:15:32Speaker 1: If you want to have an excuse to go out,
- 1:15:33Speaker 1: you use your birthday. Why not just go out? Why
- 1:15:37Speaker 1: you got to have an excuse, a reason? I don't
- 1:15:39Speaker 1: need a reason to go out. In fact, Big Boy
- 1:15:41Speaker 1: just sent me, what Big Boy just sent me? He
- 1:15:43Speaker 1: just sent me, what did Big Boy say? Big Boy says, shoot,
- 1:15:47Speaker 1: I'm going to go, I'll be at the fair tonight.
- 1:15:48Speaker 1: I'll be eating my lobster fries and beer. Poor Reuben,
- 1:15:52Speaker 1: I didn't get to hear what happened. Damn, they all
- 1:15:55Speaker 1: over Big Reuben. But I heard lobster, I'm going to
- 1:15:58Speaker 1: go to Ritmo tonight. My birthday is, I don't even
- 1:16:01Speaker 1: know when my birthday is, but I'm going to go
- 1:16:03Speaker 1: to Ripmo tonight and have me a ribeye and some
- 1:16:06Speaker 1: lobster mac. Since big boy's bringing up lobster, dang, I
- 1:16:11Speaker 1: don't need no reason. It's just Thursday. Oh, the game's on.
- 1:16:16Speaker 1: I'm going to go out. You guys who need a
- 1:16:18Speaker 1: reason to do something, you fools need to just stop, okay?
- 1:16:21Speaker 1: Stop acting like your birthday's a special occasion. Hey, you
- 1:16:24Speaker 1: have a cheese fan. Tomorrow's my pug's Frankie's birthday. Hook
- 1:16:27Speaker 1: it up for Disney on Ice.
- 1:16:28Speaker 7: Stop.
- 1:16:30Speaker 1: Exactly. Hey, good morning, Rome. I know older fools at
- 1:16:35Speaker 1: work that take the day off because of their birthday.
- 1:16:37Speaker 1: I mean, I will say this. If they're doing it
- 1:16:41Speaker 1: because they just don't want to work, then I kind
- 1:16:44Speaker 1: of get it. But your birthday is not a special occasion.
- 1:16:49Speaker 1: There's about eight times in your life that your birthday
- 1:16:52Speaker 1: is a special occasion, okay? Maybe less than that, maybe four.
- 1:16:55Speaker 1: But your birthday is not a special day.
- 1:16:58Speaker 6: All right?
- 1:16:58Speaker 1: All right, 8-4-2-5-4, 7-7. Hey, Romeo, why are people so
- 1:17:04Speaker 1: mean to each other when it comes to your listeners
- 1:17:06Speaker 1: calling in? Why are they hating on Ruben? He's just
- 1:17:08Speaker 1: celebrating his birthday. There's nothing wrong with that. People need
- 1:17:11Speaker 1: to be nicer. Look, here's the deal about the show.
- 1:17:16Speaker 1: And you're probably one of the people who just listens
- 1:17:18Speaker 1: to the show, which is great, and I really appreciate it.
- 1:17:21Speaker 1: But if you're going to actively participate in the show,
- 1:17:26Speaker 1: you're no longer a listener. You're a part of the show.
- 1:17:31Speaker 1: You're a participant. You're an unpaid employee of Hot 94.1
- 1:17:38Speaker 1: and Romeo in the Morning. Okay? So you got to
- 1:17:41Speaker 1: take the heat. It just is what it is. Good morning, Al.
- 1:17:44Speaker 1: What's going on?
- 1:17:45Speaker 3: Hey, what's up, Romeo?
- 1:17:46Speaker 2: Hey, my birthday is tomorrow, so I guess I'm going
- 1:17:49Speaker 2: to take the day off, bro.
- 1:17:51Speaker 1: Okay.
- 1:17:53Speaker 3: Hey, nah, bro.
- 1:17:54Speaker 8: Hey, I'm some real bro on the real note.
- 1:17:58Speaker 4: I actually go, I would like to, I even go
- 1:18:00Speaker 4: to the gym for all my birthdays, no matter what.
- 1:18:03Speaker 1: Well, because your birthday is not special. Once you turn 18,
- 1:18:06Speaker 1: your birthday is not special anymore.
- 1:18:10Speaker 8: Unless you're 50 and you're a freak.
- 1:18:15Speaker 1: 50 and a freak, okay. All right, I can't. I
- 1:18:18Speaker 1: don't know where he's going with that. Good morning, how's
- 1:18:20Speaker 1: it going on?
- 1:18:21Speaker 3: Hey, good morning, Romeo.
- 1:18:22Speaker 7: I heard it's everybody's birthday on Monday.
- 1:18:24Speaker 8: So I just wanted to give a big shout out.
- 1:18:28Speaker 9: For my birthday, I hope the Cowboys win the Super Bowl.
- 1:18:32Speaker 3: And I just want to give a big yee-haw. That's why.
- 1:18:37Speaker 3: Let's go for my birthday on Monday.
- 1:18:43Speaker 1: All right. All right.
- 1:18:44Speaker 4: All right.
- 1:18:45Speaker 1: All right. Let's see here. Where we at?
- 1:18:49Speaker 4: Hey, Romeo.
- 1:18:50Speaker 1: Since you're giving out tickets to everyone, can you give
- 1:18:52Speaker 1: me at least one pair of tickets to help a
- 1:18:55Speaker 1: girl out? What do you want tickets to? Damn, Rome,
- 1:19:00Speaker 1: looks like somebody ain't going to get their grass cut
- 1:19:03Speaker 1: or hedges trimmed until Tuesday yet. Oh, there isn't an
- 1:19:09Speaker 1: irrigation leak because, dang, he's cooking ranchetta. Oh, Ruben, where
- 1:19:19Speaker 1: are we at here? Hey, Rome, I take a whole
- 1:19:21Speaker 1: week off of my birthday. I don't really do anything.
- 1:19:24Speaker 1: Just don't want to work. I mean, that's different, but...
- 1:19:27Speaker 1: If you really believe, I mean, I can understand you saying,
- 1:19:31Speaker 1: you know what, I don't want to work all week,
- 1:19:32Speaker 1: so I'm going to take the week off for my birthday.
- 1:19:33Speaker 1: But use that as an excuse. But if you really
- 1:19:36Speaker 1: believe a birthday is a special occasion, they're not. Up
- 1:19:41Speaker 1: until 18, every birthday counts because you're a kid. Okay?
- 1:19:46Speaker 1: 21 counts. Maybe 40. Maybe 50. But that's about it.
- 1:19:51Speaker 1: After that, maybe 100. That's probably it. Okay?
- 1:19:54Speaker 4: Okay.
- 1:19:55Speaker 1: Hey, Rome, especially if you're an adult man. I mean,
- 1:19:59Speaker 1: I understand women celebrating. They're a little more emotional. They're
- 1:20:04Speaker 1: a little more, you know, in their feelings about stuff.
- 1:20:07Speaker 1: I get it. But you're a grown man. An adult
- 1:20:11Speaker 1: man should not be celebrating his birthday. Or he could
- 1:20:13Speaker 1: celebrate it, but don't use it as some special occasion
- 1:20:17Speaker 1: excuse to go do something. It is not that serious. Hey, Rome,
- 1:20:22Speaker 1: how much attention does Ruben need to keep calling to
- 1:20:25Speaker 1: justify everything he says? My birthday, my birthday, my birthday,
- 1:20:31Speaker 1: my birthday. Oh, man. Let's give away some Disney on
- 1:20:41Speaker 1: Ice tickets. Let's see here. Hey, let's... Let's give away
- 1:20:49Speaker 1: some Disney on Ice tickets. Caller 29 right now. Good morning, man.
- 1:20:55Speaker 1: What's going on?
- 1:20:57Speaker 4: Yeah, what up, man?
- 1:20:57Speaker 1: You're Caller 29. Congratulations. What's your name, man?
- 1:21:02Speaker 3: Michael.
- 1:21:03Speaker 9: All right, Michael.
- 1:21:03Speaker 1: I'm going to get you a four-pack of tickets. This
- 1:21:05Speaker 1: will be on ice. Hype up your hero or hype
- 1:21:08Speaker 1: your hero. Let's see here. It's going on the 9th
- 1:21:10Speaker 1: through the 11th. Or find your hero, the 9th through 11th.
- 1:21:12Speaker 4: Dignity Health, okay?
- 1:21:12Speaker 1: All right. 8, 14, 5, 4, 7, and 7. What
- 1:21:13Speaker 1: do you got here?
- 1:21:13Speaker 6: Hey, Rome.
- 1:21:14Speaker 4: It's 16.
- 1:21:14Speaker 1: Oh, for birthdays. It's 16, 18, 21, 30, 50, 90, 100.
- 1:21:15Speaker 1: Those are the ones you celebrate.
- 1:21:16Speaker 6: Okay.
- 1:21:29Speaker 1: Yo, Rome, have a great Thursday. I will. Hey, Rome,
- 1:21:35Speaker 1: it's Headbutt Raider here. I got Ruben a Raider hat
- 1:21:38Speaker 1: for his birthday. It says Raider fan, number one fan.
- 1:21:41Speaker 1: I would say I want to be invited to the cookout,
- 1:21:43Speaker 1: but cowboys can't barbecue. All right. On that note, I
- 1:21:50Speaker 1: guess I better go. I'm going to get out of
- 1:21:52Speaker 1: here and go celebrate my birthday. Romeo in the morning.
- 1:21:55Speaker 8: Every morning.
- 1:21:55Speaker 4: 94.1.
