- 1:11SPEAKER_00: Hello.
- 1:12SPEAKER_01: I'm so excited you're here.
- 1:13SPEAKER_01: Me too.
- 1:14SPEAKER_01: I'm so excited you're here.
- 1:16SPEAKER_01: For everyone who doesn't know you, how did you get into style, creative direction?
- 1:20SPEAKER_01: Like, were you always this?
- 1:22SPEAKER_01: Like, when we you came here today, I'm like, of course, she's dressed like an absolute icon.
- 1:26SPEAKER_01: I would expect nothing less.
- 1:27SPEAKER_01: Were you like this as a little girl, just playing dress up and doing all these things?
- 1:30SPEAKER_01: Or like, how did this develop for you?
- 1:33SPEAKER_00: Absolutely.
- 1:34SPEAKER_00: The interesting part though is I wasn't ever really doing this in my work.
- 1:39SPEAKER_00: So as a little girl, rewind back to when I was eight years old.
- 1:44SPEAKER_00: I just was so creative.
- 1:46SPEAKER_00: I feel like my mind always thought differently than everybody in the school.
- 1:50SPEAKER_00: And I would love to dress up.
- 1:53SPEAKER_00: I don't know if you've ever done this or anyone listening, but I would dress up, take photos with like those Polaroids.
- 1:59SPEAKER_00: Like I would literally put up a backdrop, like a sheet, my sheet from my bed, my bed, um, my bedroom.
- 2:06SPEAKER_00: And I would snap photos in different outfits and I would put on hats and different articles of clothing.
- 2:12SPEAKER_00: And it was my way of expressing myself.
- 2:15SPEAKER_00: And I never really realized that until looking back in hindsight, but always.
- 2:19SPEAKER_00: And I dimmed down my style a lot.
- 2:22SPEAKER_00: Um, come college.
- 2:23SPEAKER_00: I was an athlete, and it was like, even if you wore jeans, it was overdressed.
- 2:28SPEAKER_00: So I think that throughout the years, I kind of lost that spark in my style until I really founded BXB.
- 2:37SPEAKER_01: So, how did you find that style back?
- 2:39SPEAKER_01: Like, rewind us and tell us a story of like, so you were in college, you were an athlete.
- 2:44SPEAKER_01: Were you then in corporate?
- 2:45SPEAKER_01: Did you go into something creative?
- 2:47SPEAKER_01: Like, what is the path of Britney that's kind of brought you to all the way to BXB?
- 2:52SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 2:53SPEAKER_00: Um, I, when I was a college athlete, I was at a division one school.
- 2:58SPEAKER_00: And I will never forget my coach said, you know, Brittany, you'd be really good in sales, and you should just do what everyone else is doing, and you know, you're gonna kill it in that.
- 3:09SPEAKER_00: And I actually, that was the first time I had a body visceral response.
- 3:14SPEAKER_00: My whole body was like, that is the opposite of me.
- 3:18SPEAKER_00: And I looked around and I'm like, how do we all look the same?
- 3:21SPEAKER_00: We all act the same.
- 3:23SPEAKER_00: This is not me.
- 3:24SPEAKER_00: And I was really in my strategic self.
- 3:28SPEAKER_00: My dad was a big athlete and I was daddy's little athlete.
- 3:31SPEAKER_00: And I became very athletic, but there was this always really feminine, spunky, creative, artistic side of me that when my coach said that, I said, I have to go.
- 3:42SPEAKER_00: Like I have to leave.
- 3:43SPEAKER_00: And I actually left that school and I went to art school in San Francisco.
- 3:48SPEAKER_01: Wow.
- 3:48SPEAKER_00: And at the time, oh, I'm getting chills.
- 3:50SPEAKER_00: I didn't know what I wanted to do, but I knew that I was meant for something creative.
- 3:56SPEAKER_00: And I kept following nudge after nudge after nudge.
- 3:59SPEAKER_00: And I would find these own creative passions that led me into an internship at Yoga Journal magazine.
- 4:07SPEAKER_00: And I fell in love with events, I fell in love with experiential branding.
- 4:11SPEAKER_00: And from there, I still, though, went into performance.
- 4:16SPEAKER_00: Like all my jobs, I became very successful very fast.
- 4:21SPEAKER_00: I was an event director for two separate companies.
- 4:24SPEAKER_00: But as I grew a little bit older, it's like that second company was a fashion market.
- 4:29SPEAKER_00: And I would do it on the side of my full-time job.
- 4:32SPEAKER_00: And I would sit there and I'd like curate all of the designers and these big markets for 5,000 people, the top fashion markets in the country.
- 4:40SPEAKER_00: And it was like my side thing.
- 4:43SPEAKER_00: And so slowly and slowly I started unraveling this version of me until I realized like this is no longer a side thing.
- 4:51SPEAKER_00: This isn't me in the closet.
- 4:53SPEAKER_00: This is me fully as BXB, Brittany Barcellos.
- 4:57SPEAKER_00: And when we moved here to Denver, Colorado, that's when I left my jobs and went full, full throttle into entrepreneurship.
- 5:05SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 5:06SPEAKER_00: How long ago was that when you guys moved here?
- 5:08SPEAKER_00: We moved here in 2019, right before the pandemic.
- 5:11SPEAKER_00: Oh wow.
- 5:11SPEAKER_00: So it's been a it's been a few years then.
- 5:13SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I would say that BXB, the company I have today, was not that though.
- 5:17SPEAKER_00: Like I again kind of went into, okay, what's everyone else doing?
- 5:21SPEAKER_00: How do I make this business thing work?
- 5:23SPEAKER_00: And it worked, but what always was underneath it, what really was working, was my magnetism, my expression, bringing out other women's expression.
- 5:33SPEAKER_00: And the more and more I listened to that spark, you know, that version of me that left Division I athletics and went to art school, the more successful I became in my company.
- 5:44SPEAKER_01: Can you walk us through the importance of expression?
- 5:49SPEAKER_01: Like not just for your journey, but what you see in women and why we're underexpressed, why majority of women perhaps are looking outside of them and like kind of what you see in terms of women's expression and how we can increase that to become more not only self-expressed, but authentic in our self-expression.
- 6:07SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 6:08SPEAKER_00: At the core, it's really knowing who you are and daring to be who you are, no matter where you are.
- 6:14SPEAKER_00: And I think that so often as women, we kind of morph into the environments we're placed in.
- 6:21SPEAKER_00: So even Denver, it's like if I were to go downtown in this, I would get some stairs because people be wearing Patagonia.
- 6:29SPEAKER_00: And it's like, how daring am I to be all of me wherever I go?
- 6:34SPEAKER_00: And that I think if if you could get to the root of that, and sometimes that is an exploration.
- 6:40SPEAKER_00: That's why I love style, because style is an exploration of expression.
- 6:45SPEAKER_00: You don't always know what your style is.
- 6:47SPEAKER_00: You have to go on that journey to find who you are to uncover the expression.
- 6:53SPEAKER_00: And then once it clicks, it's a tangible, lived experience of who you are on the inside.
- 6:59SPEAKER_00: And then that can amplify who you are out into the world and almost amplify your own permission to be who you are.
- 7:08SPEAKER_01: So if someone's like, I have no idea what my style is.
- 7:12SPEAKER_01: Like I, if you're maybe there's someone like me, I see something on Pinterest or I see someone post an outfit and I'm like, I would just add that to cart.
- 7:18SPEAKER_01: She's already done it for me.
- 7:20SPEAKER_01: What advice would you give to someone who's trying to find their own personal style that isn't just buying the outfit they see the influencer buying on Instagram?
- 7:31SPEAKER_00: I mean, you gotta go through the BXB process, but breaking it down, what we do with clients is I almost am I extracting parts of someone that they don't necessarily see yet, but it's always found in breadcrumbs.
- 7:47SPEAKER_00: So for example, if you were to send me your Pinterest board, it's like there's gotta be a theme.
- 7:52SPEAKER_00: So walk me through what would be on your Pinterest board.
- 7:56SPEAKER_01: I mean what I'm wearing right now, I feel like I'm very minimalist.
- 7:58SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 7:59SPEAKER_01: It's very elegant, chic, structured.
- 8:01SPEAKER_01: Like I like tailored look.
- 8:03SPEAKER_01: I just like well fit.
- 8:04SPEAKER_01: I mean, not everyone likes well-fit in clothing, but you know what I mean?
- 8:06SPEAKER_01: It's minimal, structured, elevated basics.
- 8:09SPEAKER_01: I would say I don't wear much color.
- 8:11SPEAKER_01: It's like black neutrals, jeans.
- 8:13SPEAKER_01: I like very much like a capsule wardrobe, so everything's easy to put together.
- 8:17SPEAKER_01: If I had to try to like put together your outfit, and that's that's too much for me.
- 8:21SPEAKER_01: I just want to be able to like mix and match.
- 8:23SPEAKER_01: That's what I would say.
- 8:24SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 8:24SPEAKER_00: And and that probably says so much of who you like, just by you saying that, if everyone listening, you probably already know so much about Live because to me, it's like it's functional, it's sleek, it's there's this polished look to you, but that's who you are.
- 8:39SPEAKER_00: When you showed up right now, your personality is that, right?
- 8:43SPEAKER_00: So for people that are just starting to uncover their signature style, it's really uncovering who they are and then finding pieces that complement that.
- 8:52SPEAKER_00: So on your Pinterest, if there's blacks and neutrals and everything's structured and tailored and well fit, then I'm already thinking about, okay, who is she as a woman?
- 9:02SPEAKER_00: And then we go, you know, the styling's the easy part.
- 9:04SPEAKER_00: It's really the uncovering.
- 9:06SPEAKER_00: And I would say one more example is my style.
- 9:09SPEAKER_00: I actually last year was sleek, minimal, black, um, almost like I was stepping into my creative director identity.
- 9:18SPEAKER_00: It wasn't until this year that I was like, I think I'm a much bigger version of myself than my style is representing.
- 9:24SPEAKER_00: And I would see like Emily in Paris and all of these shows and this inspiration.
- 9:30SPEAKER_00: You have to step outside into the world.
- 9:32SPEAKER_00: Like you can't be online on pit, whatever, like TikTok, looking at influences.
- 9:38SPEAKER_00: It's like you get inspired by the world.
- 9:41SPEAKER_00: And I would get inspired by art and colors and textures.
- 9:45SPEAKER_00: And that inspired my new capsule, which is more maximalist.
- 9:49SPEAKER_00: And there's there's something about themes, tonalities, like colors, prints.
- 9:56SPEAKER_00: Um, even when you go to like the best art shows or the fashion shows, there's always themes that you can start pulling out that say a lot about not only your style, but who you are and what you're ready to express next.
- 10:08SPEAKER_01: What do you find happens when a woman fully like expresses herself and like dresses as that identity she's stepping into?
- 10:16SPEAKER_01: Like, what do you find shifts for her in her, whether it's personal life, whether her business, what kind of what happens?
- 10:22SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 10:23SPEAKER_00: You know, I always love using examples of like watching women unfold in real time.
- 10:29SPEAKER_00: And I would say we've done so many try-ons and try-ons we bring the whole capsule, right?
- 10:35SPEAKER_00: Like three suitcases full of clothes.
- 10:37SPEAKER_00: And a lot of the times during that process, there's things that that aren't necessarily a match that people think are, right?
- 10:44SPEAKER_00: So they might send the Pinterest board with the blazer suit.
- 10:47SPEAKER_00: But then as we're unraveling her during this experience, there's a there's a different version of her on the horizon.
- 10:54SPEAKER_00: There's these different colors or textures that she wasn't expecting that then showcase more of who she is.
- 11:01SPEAKER_00: And then when she puts the outfit on, when she let's use like even Bridget, James Ling, for an example.
- 11:09SPEAKER_00: We did a capsule for her last year.
- 11:11SPEAKER_00: And there were so many pieces that every time she put it on, she would come a little bit more alive.
- 11:16SPEAKER_00: And then you could see in her videos, even during the try-on, but then the media experience after, every time she'd put that article of clothing on that really matched not who she was, who she was becoming next.
- 11:28SPEAKER_00: It's like her whole energy would shift.
- 11:30SPEAKER_00: She'd stand a little taller.
- 11:32SPEAKER_00: There was a bigger, brighter form of her expression that would reveal itself.
- 11:36SPEAKER_00: And that undoubtedly changes your business because you know, with nervous system work, the more aligned you are to who you are stepping into, that identity, the biggest version of you, and you have this like live tangible expression on your body, you're gonna show up differently.
- 11:53SPEAKER_00: You're going to attract higher caliber women or just people that are a match for who you really are.
- 12:00SPEAKER_00: And then I've seen businesses go for, like, you know, we did a try-on experience for another client.
- 12:04SPEAKER_00: She had a multi-million dollar launch after.
- 12:07SPEAKER_00: And she could say it's the strategy, but we know deep down it's that energy, it's that lived experience of being that version of her and letting her be seen in the world.
- 12:18SPEAKER_01: Well, you feel completely different when you put on an outfit that's like, this is me.
- 12:23SPEAKER_01: You're just, yes, you are, it's like a snap.
- 12:26SPEAKER_01: You automatically, it's like you can have an identity shift just by getting dressed in the morning.
- 12:30SPEAKER_01: Exactly.
- 12:31SPEAKER_00: Like you want to go have a million-dollar launch, like put down your notebook, put away the computer, get dressed in the future version of you, strut around the town.
- 12:41SPEAKER_00: And I guarantee you're gonna be so much more magnetic to the type of saleswoman and launch that you're actually desiring.
- 12:49SPEAKER_01: And I also think you think different thoughts.
- 12:53SPEAKER_01: Like you, you will have different downloads, you will have different ideas from the clothes that you're wearing.
- 12:58SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 12:58SPEAKER_01: Oh, yeah.
- 12:59SPEAKER_01: 100%.
- 13:00SPEAKER_00: If I like, you know, I always like to wear layers and bring options because I actually, it's almost like you play, it's a co-creation, right?
- 13:09SPEAKER_00: You put on the outfit and you feel a certain way.
- 13:12SPEAKER_00: If I were to take off this fuchsia skirt and just wear, you know, let's say the blacks, I would probably show up in a different energy.
- 13:19SPEAKER_00: Both are me, but it's almost like a playground of your own expression.
- 13:24SPEAKER_00: So whatever type of identity you want to bring forward, you can also use style as a catalyst to bringing that forward more.
- 13:32SPEAKER_00: If I want to be brighter, bigger, it's like I'm gonna pair these checkered pants with this fichia.
- 13:38SPEAKER_00: And then I'm also gonna like take out this boa, which just by putting it on, I feel even more fabulous.
- 13:44SPEAKER_00: And now I'm like in this celebrity persona.
- 13:47SPEAKER_00: So you could actually use style to to catapult you into these different archetypes.
- 13:53SPEAKER_01: So funny you bring up the boa because one thing in the that style guide that you made that we were talking about before we started recording, when you saw the feathers, I was like, feathers.
- 14:02SPEAKER_01: Like I like a little touch of feathers.
- 14:04SPEAKER_01: I may not have a full boa, but I was like, oh, I like a little feather on the shoe or a little feather trim on like a sweater or some like silk pajamas.
- 14:11SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 14:12SPEAKER_01: That's like a little, a little thing.
- 14:14SPEAKER_01: So I love that you even mentioned the feathers because I think even small enhancements to the outfit can elevate it.
- 14:20SPEAKER_01: It doesn't have to be, oh, a big color, a big boa.
- 14:23SPEAKER_01: It can be a little sparkle or a little bit of feather or a little something you like a silk scarf.
- 14:29SPEAKER_01: I also now love scarves.
- 14:30SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 14:31SPEAKER_01: And just a little skill scarf.
- 14:32SPEAKER_01: Like it can be little things like that too.
- 14:35SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 14:35SPEAKER_00: Well, and two things.
- 14:37SPEAKER_00: The scarf thing is like that, that was an identity anchor.
- 14:40SPEAKER_00: Like with Bridget's brand, I gifted her a scarf during a try-on, and it actually became like a brand anchor.
- 14:46SPEAKER_00: And now everybody in the Freedom Queen world wears scarves.
- 14:50SPEAKER_00: And but it came from this identity, like pulling out who is the Freedom Queen within Bridget, you know?
- 14:57SPEAKER_00: And this is what I love about identity work.
- 14:59SPEAKER_00: And then to your other point, when you think about a capsule, capsule wardrobe, for anyone who doesn't know, is like your everyday, right?
- 15:07SPEAKER_00: The functionality, functionality, like you're talking about, the mix and the matching.
- 15:12SPEAKER_00: Well, think about a luxury brand.
- 15:15SPEAKER_00: They have an elevated like couture, and then they have like an everyday, and then they have a street wear, and there's all these different fashion lines, but there's this through line.
- 15:26SPEAKER_00: So for you, it's like you're elevated, something you would wear on stage would still be you, the sleek, the black, the structured, and then that element of feather would be that way to elevate your look on stage.
- 15:41SPEAKER_00: And then this would be like your podcast look.
- 15:43SPEAKER_00: So there's so many different layers to signature style, and you have to look at it as like, even if you're not maximalist like me today, there's always a way to push that creative edge in your style.
- 15:55SPEAKER_00: And most of the time when women work with BXB, they're looking to push that edge because they're speakers, they're getting on stages, they're writing best-selling books.
- 16:04SPEAKER_00: And so to understand the different layers is also unlocking a new level of you and your expression and influence.
- 16:13SPEAKER_01: So, do you also get dressed like this like every day?
- 16:16SPEAKER_01: Do you suggest like you, your clients, you should always get dressed in whatever version or whatever facet of you is coming through?
- 16:22SPEAKER_01: It might be a more softer version that day or whatever facet of your personality that you're doing.
- 16:27SPEAKER_01: But do you always recommend to avoid like the really old sweatpants and sweatshirt and actually put on something for the day?
- 16:33SPEAKER_01: Like, do you resonate with that advice that says, oh, you should always get dressed, you should always do this, or not?
- 16:40SPEAKER_00: I'd love to.
- 16:41SPEAKER_00: I'm just gonna be really real with you.
- 16:42SPEAKER_00: I was in pajamas like 20 minutes before this, and pretty I'm a new mom and love that excuse for me.
- 16:50SPEAKER_00: I just like comfort is also really important to me.
- 16:54SPEAKER_00: But what I will say is like, if I know it's a CEO day, like even just an elevated sweatsuit, even just a matching sweatsuit has me showing up in more of that CEO energy.
- 17:05SPEAKER_00: If I'm selling, if I'm um going into launching or content or giving back to my people, I'll dress up because it's going to bring out my magnetism.
- 17:16SPEAKER_00: So there's different layers of us that don't always need the big outfit.
- 17:21SPEAKER_00: It just to me, if you could get in the habit of dressing up as the biggest version of you and going out into the town and experiencing yourself in a new way, even just once a week, once a month, it's going to change the game for you.
- 17:37SPEAKER_00: And then even looking in your closet, what I do suggest for anyone who works with me or who's looking to unlock their expression is you style is all about letting the pieces find you.
- 17:49SPEAKER_00: So most of the people listening might be looking in their closet and they're like, ugh, this is so 2025 of me.
- 17:56SPEAKER_00: Like, this is not me.
- 17:58SPEAKER_00: Women who are listening, you evolve so quickly.
- 18:01SPEAKER_00: You're always reinventing yourself.
- 18:03SPEAKER_00: This style is new.
- 18:05SPEAKER_00: But and I know that like next month is probably gonna be something different.
- 18:08SPEAKER_00: And if you could go into your closet as is and just find even just some pieces, maybe you have nothing that resonates with who you're becoming, but you do have one accessory that gives you some kind of spark.
- 18:23SPEAKER_00: Put that accessory on and then start mixing and matching with it.
- 18:27SPEAKER_00: See what you can add to it.
- 18:29SPEAKER_00: Maybe go online, find another piece that complements that.
- 18:32SPEAKER_00: And that's how I always suggest clients to dress in the morning if they are looking to use style as the catalyst for their day.
- 18:41SPEAKER_01: It's so funny you said that because I actually was going to talk about that next.
- 18:45SPEAKER_01: And I last week I went to my closet after like a big identity shift, and I was like, I hate everything.
- 18:51SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 18:51SPEAKER_01: Like, I can wear this black long sleeve shirt, a black t-shirt, maybe a blazer.
- 18:56SPEAKER_01: I'm like, I literally hate everything.
- 18:58SPEAKER_01: It all feels old.
- 19:00SPEAKER_01: So I know we talked about like elevating your style on purpose, but there's so many times I've walked into my wardrobe and I'm like, I hate it all.
- 19:06SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 19:07SPEAKER_01: It's all old.
- 19:07SPEAKER_01: It just feels like literally overnight, I have outgrown 90% of my wardrobe.
- 19:12SPEAKER_01: And I'm like, okay, we're gonna wear the same outfit for the things that do fit right now.
- 19:17SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 19:17SPEAKER_01: Like and fit that identity.
- 19:19SPEAKER_01: But yeah, it's crazy how your identity can shift and suddenly all those, there's nothing wrong with them.
- 19:24SPEAKER_01: Like they fit, they're nice, but they're it hasn't matched there's no congruence anymore.
- 19:29SPEAKER_00: Yes, yeah, and it's not a point of activation.
- 19:32SPEAKER_00: So are we looking for congruency or are we looking for activation?
- 19:36SPEAKER_00: And activation does require a new version of you, a new version of your style.
- 19:41SPEAKER_00: And that's a constant.
- 19:43SPEAKER_01: I just love that you said activation because I feel like I like everything to be in activation.
- 19:47SPEAKER_01: Like I want my coffee to activate me, I want my matcha to activate me.
- 19:51SPEAKER_01: I don't want just some boring whatever.
- 19:52SPEAKER_01: So, of course, I want the clothes to be a little activation.
- 19:56SPEAKER_01: We want, like, even, I'm sure our body products we use, like whatever we want, we want it to be an activation.
- 20:01SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 20:01SPEAKER_01: And so if you feel like your clothes are like dampering your energy, that's gonna dull your magnetism.
- 20:06SPEAKER_01: That's gonna dull your energy because you're like, it just doesn't feel good.
- 20:10SPEAKER_00: Exactly.
- 20:11SPEAKER_00: And that's why style isn't just um style.
- 20:16SPEAKER_00: It's actually the most time-collapsing identity activation you could ever do for yourself.
- 20:22SPEAKER_00: I have seen it time and time again.
- 20:24SPEAKER_00: You want to be activated in a next identity, go put something on that's gonna activate you.
- 20:30SPEAKER_00: That is the quickest, like that.
- 20:31SPEAKER_00: You do nervous system work.
- 20:33SPEAKER_00: Like you understand how those shifts can happen from a body level.
- 20:37SPEAKER_00: That's what style does for you if you style yourself to be at that point of activation.
- 20:45SPEAKER_01: That actually brings up something I wanted to talk about with you in terms of we're building all this big activation.
- 20:51SPEAKER_01: It's more than just getting dressed in the morning, it's more than just choosing the outfit maybe you always choose.
- 20:57SPEAKER_01: And you speak about not just creating, I love this when you spoke about this.
- 21:01SPEAKER_01: It's not just a brand, but you're creating like a micoangelo world.
- 21:04SPEAKER_01: And I was like, oh yeah, this is why I love Brittany.
- 21:08SPEAKER_01: Because it's not just like it's not just what you wear in the morning, it's not just a brand.
- 21:13SPEAKER_01: It's like you're creating a world that's an art and expression.
- 21:16SPEAKER_01: Can you, for everyone listening, explain the difference between a brand and a Michoangelo world?
- 21:23SPEAKER_00: Okay, so I'm really big on subconscious influence.
- 21:27SPEAKER_00: And subconscious influence to me is everything that's being felt under the noise.
- 21:32SPEAKER_00: So while so many people, let's say in the coaching industry specifically, might be focusing on messaging, marketing, positioning, perception, I never focused on any of that.
- 21:44SPEAKER_00: I mean, you've seen my page.
- 21:46SPEAKER_00: And yet I still attract seven, eight, nine figure women that come and pay me multi, you know, six figures over the long haul.
- 21:55SPEAKER_00: Why?
- 21:56SPEAKER_00: Because I understand that that what's underneath the brand.
- 22:00SPEAKER_00: The world is actually, you're like, yes, is actually what's speaking to people.
- 22:06SPEAKER_00: And that's the highest level of sophistication, the highest level of buying frequency.
- 22:11SPEAKER_00: And so that's the one thing I focus on.
- 22:14SPEAKER_00: And then with my clients, this subconscious influence and this world building is in art form, right?
- 22:21SPEAKER_00: It's like you think about the top luxury brands, Gucci, Prada, they don't sell marketing.
- 22:28SPEAKER_00: They don't sell through tactics.
- 22:29SPEAKER_00: They sell through identity activation.
- 22:32SPEAKER_00: They sell through status.
- 22:34SPEAKER_00: And if you could tap into a bigger way of looking at your brand, like it's really not a brand.
- 22:40SPEAKER_00: It's an entire felt experience.
- 22:42SPEAKER_00: It's a universe, every single touch point that's so subliminal.
- 22:47SPEAKER_00: But if you could focus on that, that's what builds a Michelangelo world.
- 22:53SPEAKER_00: I could go on for days, but I'll pause.
- 22:56SPEAKER_01: But it's so true because I mean, obviously, I know this subconscious is everything.
- 23:01SPEAKER_01: Before the words, people already see your brand.
- 23:04SPEAKER_01: Before they even read the words that you're saying, they already have an impression.
- 23:08SPEAKER_01: So when you are very intentional about all those details and like the creative direction you put behind it, it's not just let me slap some words on an Instagram slide to hope it does something.
- 23:19SPEAKER_01: It's like, what am I creating?
- 23:21SPEAKER_01: What am I cultivating?
- 23:22SPEAKER_01: What feeling do I want my brand and company to do?
- 23:25SPEAKER_01: How do I want people to experience?
- 23:27SPEAKER_01: Like, my fiance thinks I'm insane because the level of vision I have when I want to do things, he's like, you want to shoot basically a perfume commercial.
- 23:34SPEAKER_01: And I'm like, but like, yes.
- 23:37SPEAKER_01: He's like, this is like a$50,000 thing.
- 23:38SPEAKER_01: I'm like, all right, we won't maybe go that far yet, but I have this vision.
- 23:42SPEAKER_01: And so we did we do this thing called Live Miss every year.
- 23:45SPEAKER_01: Wow.
- 23:45SPEAKER_01: In December around my birthday.
- 23:47SPEAKER_01: Uh my birthday's December 19th.
- 23:49SPEAKER_01: So for Christmas, Live Miss, we do live miss, kind of like a Christmas special.
- 23:54SPEAKER_01: And I like, I went and I shoot a whole campaign in this old luxury hotel.
- 23:58SPEAKER_01: I bought a beautiful dress.
- 24:00SPEAKER_01: Like he's really good at film and photography.
- 24:02SPEAKER_01: So he shot the whole thing.
- 24:03SPEAKER_01: I had, you know, this.
- 24:04SPEAKER_01: Like I was knocking on the door.
- 24:06SPEAKER_01: Like I wanted the announcement of like Live Miss is here to be this full experience.
- 24:12SPEAKER_01: Not because I wanted like, oh, I think I need to.
- 24:14SPEAKER_01: It's like this is the highest expression of me.
- 24:17SPEAKER_01: And I just sent him an idea yesterday for something I want to do in April.
- 24:20SPEAKER_01: He's like, You're insane.
- 24:21SPEAKER_01: I'm like, but this is the vision.
- 24:22SPEAKER_01: Like, I want you to have an experience when you come into a program or a thing into a brand.
- 24:27SPEAKER_01: Like, it's not just a photo.
- 24:29SPEAKER_01: It's like, oh, there's something behind this.
- 24:31SPEAKER_01: There's this depth and there's this intention.
- 24:33SPEAKER_01: And I'm sure when you work with clients, when you're building that, it feels so much more.
- 24:40unknown: Yeah.
- 24:41unknown: Yeah.
- 24:41SPEAKER_01: And I know people are like, you don't need, you know, branding.
- 24:44SPEAKER_01: Like, and it can be whatever it is authentic to you, don't get me wrong.
- 24:48SPEAKER_01: But I do think it's so important.
- 24:50SPEAKER_01: If you're here to build like a big brand, a big legacy, like there is that level of intention that's important behind it.
- 24:57SPEAKER_00: Oh, wow.
- 24:58SPEAKER_00: I mean, you are speaking my language.
- 25:01SPEAKER_00: I'm sure anyone who's listening, who's building a big brand, understands that there's so much more that is underneath the surface.
- 25:10SPEAKER_00: And what you're talking about, these big campaigns, what I'm hearing and picking up on intuitively, it's it's the fullest expression of you.
- 25:19SPEAKER_00: It's you and your artistry.
- 25:21SPEAKER_00: And when you, anyone who's listening can step into that, your artistry and your evolution paired with innovation and creativity will not only make you so much more money, obviously, big brands, big business, it will literally wake you up inside.
- 25:38SPEAKER_00: It will take you and the fullest version of you and put you out into the world so that you can experience freedom and creativity and innovation always are the catalyst for that.
- 25:50SPEAKER_00: And that's actually why I do what I do.
- 25:52SPEAKER_00: I don't really care.
- 25:53SPEAKER_00: I love the tangibles, I love the assets, but I'm not gonna go into the strategy around it because to me, it's like, how can we wake up the truest version of you and have this insane campaign that reflects that so that now your page and your brand becomes a living, breathing piece of art.
- 26:12SPEAKER_01: And there's so much fun behind it too.
- 26:14SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 26:15SPEAKER_01: I feel like you feel so much more alive.
- 26:16SPEAKER_01: And I you're I know you're gonna say yes, but I'm just gonna like say the question to have you continue the thread.
- 26:21SPEAKER_01: But I find that people are way too caught up in like the strategy of like, I need this funnel system, I need this messaging.
- 26:29SPEAKER_01: And yes, we all need to like be able to articulate.
- 26:32SPEAKER_01: But chances are most people can articulate what they do, but then they get in their head overthinking and worrying about that.
- 26:38SPEAKER_01: And then it drains the life force out of them and their business.
- 26:41SPEAKER_01: They stop having fun and just creating art and expressing.
- 26:45SPEAKER_01: And think about it when you look at a kid, when they're just using their imagination, they're expressing, that's the most magnetic energy.
- 26:52SPEAKER_01: But they've gotten so structured and rigid and overthinking of what's the thing that they need to do or get right, or they maybe start copying someone else's expression and art because they think it needs to be like that.
- 27:04SPEAKER_01: And then they lose themselves, they lose their energy, their spark.
- 27:07SPEAKER_01: And eventually income will reflect that because you're not alive.
- 27:10SPEAKER_01: I know you're gonna say yes, but I'm basically just priming you to like continue my tangent.
- 27:15SPEAKER_00: We could talk.
- 27:16SPEAKER_00: I'm like, how much time do we have?
- 27:18SPEAKER_00: This is the best conversation of my whole life.
- 27:20SPEAKER_00: My inner girl is like, oh my gosh, I found like I we and anyone who's listening, I know that there's that spark in you, right?
- 27:28SPEAKER_00: I know that it's there.
- 27:29SPEAKER_00: And it goes back to that question we said in the beginning.
- 27:32SPEAKER_00: Who are you willing to be who you really are?
- 27:36SPEAKER_00: Can you dare to live on your edge of expression?
- 27:39SPEAKER_00: Because that is when you come alive.
- 27:41SPEAKER_00: And in my personal story, since we're going there, is like I was this version of me.
- 27:47SPEAKER_00: And and anyone who really is, it's it's really easy for the world to want to dilute you, right?
- 27:53SPEAKER_00: When I was young, I would a lot of women would make comments about my style or me being too much.
- 27:59SPEAKER_00: I had a very, very big influential energy.
- 28:01SPEAKER_00: And it was, it was almost like if you just stay this small, then we could exist around you.
- 28:09SPEAKER_00: And that was one of the turning points in my own expression is, you know, when I left that college, a lot of who I was was being diluted because I was in a box that I never really belonged in.
- 28:22SPEAKER_00: And I was dying inside, true, like quite literally, you know, my expression, my style, who I wanted to be.
- 28:30SPEAKER_00: And I even, you know, I had to go to counseling, I got diagnosed with ADHD.
- 28:35SPEAKER_00: And it like furthered that pattern in my body.
- 28:38SPEAKER_00: Like, you're a problem.
- 28:39SPEAKER_00: You're the problem.
- 28:40SPEAKER_00: You need to go now, prove yourself and figure out how to be successful so that the world can approve of you.
- 28:46SPEAKER_00: And I did that for so many years that now I am so who I am, I don't even recognize that.
- 28:55SPEAKER_00: Like people always say I unlock the truth of who they are just by being around me.
- 29:00SPEAKER_00: I know I'm the biggest permission slip before I open my mouth.
- 29:04SPEAKER_00: I know that's where the power is.
- 29:06SPEAKER_00: And honestly, I know I'm on this planet to help activate that in others because you're right, with messaging, marketing tactics, listen, I've never been good at that.
- 29:16SPEAKER_00: And every time I tried, I would actually like my success, like you said, would start dropping.
- 29:22SPEAKER_00: And so every time you're in that place of maybe you are kind of looking outside of you or comparing or um focusing on messaging, marketing tactics, just ask yourself, am I daring to be the biggest version of myself?
- 29:36SPEAKER_00: And do I trust myself enough to let that be the leading factor to my success?
- 29:41SPEAKER_01: Well, the trust is huge.
- 29:42SPEAKER_01: I mean, I won't go on our nervous system changing, but I find that sometimes women can kind of know or have an inkling of what they would rather be doing, but they don't trust themselves in it.
- 29:52SPEAKER_01: So they revert back to like, no, no, like surely that wouldn't be enough.
- 29:57SPEAKER_01: Surely, just my authentic, easiest expression of me, there must be more.
- 30:02SPEAKER_01: It must be more difficult.
- 30:03SPEAKER_01: I must need to struggle.
- 30:05SPEAKER_01: No, no, that'd be too easy.
- 30:06SPEAKER_01: Don't you think if it was that easy, I would just do that.
- 30:09SPEAKER_01: But it's it's because they don't trust themselves.
- 30:11SPEAKER_01: And it actually, like, oh no, and you just let it be that full authentic expression.
- 30:16SPEAKER_01: There's this life force energy that comes alive, and then it is easier because it's just you.
- 30:21SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 30:22SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 30:22SPEAKER_00: I mean, I was in that, I was stuck in that two months ago.
- 30:26SPEAKER_00: And Bridget, one of my mentors, brought me back.
- 30:29SPEAKER_00: She's like, you really like you have real influence.
- 30:32SPEAKER_00: Like the structures and the frameworks are for women who are still trying to find that.
- 30:38SPEAKER_00: But if you have that, if you really feel that you are that in your body, then that's what you lead with.
- 30:44SPEAKER_00: Everything else can follow.
- 30:45SPEAKER_00: But that's the hard part because you're right.
- 30:47SPEAKER_00: There is no roadmap to who you are.
- 30:50SPEAKER_00: There is no following other people's footprints.
- 30:52SPEAKER_00: You have to find your own frequency and really trust that that is, you know, the way.
- 30:59SPEAKER_01: Now, I know you've worked on a lot of big campaigns like magazines, Times Square, a lot of, you know, stages.
- 31:07SPEAKER_01: Can you walk us through what creative direction on that level kind of looks like and like what how that differs from maybe your day-to-day?
- 31:16SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 31:16SPEAKER_00: So, you know, style is like one facet to the work that I do.
- 31:21SPEAKER_00: And I have an entire in-house team.
- 31:23SPEAKER_00: I have my styling director, my media team, and I'm almost like architecting the vision with the client.
- 31:30SPEAKER_00: And so anytime we step into someone's world, we look at three different keys.
- 31:35SPEAKER_00: We look at the woman, the influence.
- 31:38SPEAKER_00: How do we really activate this bigger version of her?
- 31:41SPEAKER_00: And we do that through style and through some other facets.
- 31:44SPEAKER_00: And then we look at her world and how are we building the world almost as if a luxury brand, where you don't really need words to explain it.
- 31:53SPEAKER_00: You're you're deepening those touch points.
- 31:55SPEAKER_00: And I often find that doing that through like a media campaign as well as events, most high-level brands have some sort of lived experiences with their clients.
- 32:05SPEAKER_00: If we can touch on these subconscious touch points in the brand and really define what the brand is, it's just starting with the simple question of what identity are you reinforcing or activating in the woman you desire to serve?
- 32:22SPEAKER_00: Like what is that identity?
- 32:24SPEAKER_00: Is it someone who is more creative?
- 32:26SPEAKER_00: Is it a successful woman?
- 32:28SPEAKER_00: Is it someone who's free and expressive?
- 32:30SPEAKER_00: And once you really understand the identity of the version your buyer desires to become, you can create touch points that activate that identity.
- 32:39SPEAKER_00: I'm all about identity activation, experiences, Freedom Queen Live, Living Brave Live.
- 32:43SPEAKER_00: It's like, what activations are we producing that's going to help that woman become somebody, become the star of the show, become that version of their identity.
- 32:54SPEAKER_00: And then we do that, you know, through the events, through the campaigns, through the styling.
- 32:59SPEAKER_00: And then lastly, I would say campaigns and a lot of media productions we do.
- 33:04SPEAKER_00: I have my team on the East Coast right now doing one for one of our clients.
- 33:10SPEAKER_00: And to me, it's about, again, that lived experience.
- 33:15SPEAKER_00: You put the outfit on, you try on this piece of clothing, you go and produce an amazing campaign with it.
- 33:22SPEAKER_00: That's gonna activate this new version of you and your brand world.
- 33:27SPEAKER_00: And our only job is to keep unraveling her.
- 33:31SPEAKER_00: Like go out, find out, do the campaign, let that land, put it out into the world and reinforce this bigger identity for you and your clients.
- 33:41SPEAKER_01: I like that you touched on like the touch points because I guarantee there's probably from the outside person's perspective, so many intentional little touch points that you're creating that when people have an experience that you've like helped, whether it's like an event and all that, they don't realize the amount of like detail that you've probably thought of and put into every little thing for them, it's just one seamless like event slash experience.
- 34:09SPEAKER_01: But from the back, you're like, no, this was a little intentional, this little thing was intentional.
- 34:14SPEAKER_01: This, like it was, it's also intentional.
- 34:17SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 34:17SPEAKER_01: I feel like intention must be a big word for you.
- 34:20SPEAKER_00: Yes, because if it's not intentional, it's just a pretty picture.
- 34:24SPEAKER_00: If it's not intentional, it's just a cool backdrop.
- 34:26SPEAKER_00: So the intention behind what you produce is the difference between someone transforming in your world or not.
- 34:35SPEAKER_00: I'm chills.
- 34:36SPEAKER_00: I'll pause.
- 34:38SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 34:38SPEAKER_00: So, you know, one example of let's use experiences, for example.
- 34:43SPEAKER_00: I've, you know, I come from the event space and I always looked at them as identity activations, as brands on legs.
- 34:50SPEAKER_00: It's like when someone walks into your experience, they not only are experiencing the brand, they're experiencing themselves within the brand.
- 34:59SPEAKER_00: It's like you step in, let's let's use you, for example.
- 35:02SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna like imagine that we're gonna do an experience for you in downtown Denver.
- 35:07SPEAKER_00: I am like, we're picking the sleekest hotel.
- 35:09SPEAKER_00: It's gonna have blacks, it's gonna be so polished.
- 35:14SPEAKER_00: And yet there's this like elevation and groundedness, because I can already tell by your energy and your brand that if it's not rooted, then you're not gonna get that nervous system recalibration when you step inside your world.
- 35:27SPEAKER_00: So we would make sure that it felt really rooted and grounded.
- 35:31SPEAKER_00: And then some touch points.
- 35:32SPEAKER_00: It's like, what are you wearing?
- 35:34SPEAKER_00: Is it activating the lived identity of your brand?
- 35:37SPEAKER_00: So if you stand for nervous system, rooted wealth identity, it's like, how are you a walking billboard embodiment of that?
- 35:46SPEAKER_00: And that's why we we like to use style.
- 35:48SPEAKER_00: So we would put probably a little feather cuff on that black turtleneck, but keep you so sleek.
- 35:54SPEAKER_00: It's like you're more is not more for your brand.
- 35:57SPEAKER_00: Less is more because nervous system is one of those rooted felt experiences.
- 36:02SPEAKER_00: We don't want to overload that with noise.
- 36:05SPEAKER_00: And then the experience itself, how are we actually providing that experience?
- 36:09SPEAKER_00: Maybe instead of like, I don't know, photo backdrop, there's like a lounge and it's a recalibration lounge.
- 36:17SPEAKER_00: And people step inside and they have these deep connections like we're doing now on the podcast, but it's very intentional.
- 36:23SPEAKER_00: And there's maybe like prompts or cards that really help people root into connection or nervous system.
- 36:29SPEAKER_00: And I don't know much about your brand, but it's like, how are we stepping away from just photo backdrops, t-shirts, journals, and stepping into how is every single product, every single activation, experience, touch point reinforcing the identity you desire women to have when they step inside your world?
- 36:51SPEAKER_01: And I'm sure you would say that is the case for both online, but all in events.
- 36:56SPEAKER_01: Obviously, events in person so important because the person is physically there, but I'm sure also just online in general is also important in terms of all everything you just said.
- 37:06SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah.
- 37:06SPEAKER_00: And this is where I this is why I love campaigns.
- 37:08SPEAKER_00: And this is why I call them campaigns and not like shoots, because come on now.
- 37:13SPEAKER_00: Like shoots again, lack that intentionality.
- 37:16SPEAKER_00: You can go do an amazing shoot.
- 37:18SPEAKER_00: It's when you combine style, concept, ideation, and execution with that through line in your brand that really brings that identity to life.
- 37:28SPEAKER_00: So even the horse shoot campaign with Bridget James.
- 37:31SPEAKER_00: Obsessed.
- 37:32SPEAKER_00: Like I was just like, oh my God.
- 37:34SPEAKER_00: That's the best example.
- 37:35SPEAKER_00: And she was really the visionary of it, right?
- 37:38SPEAKER_00: Like she came and she's like, I just see a horse, right?
- 37:41SPEAKER_00: So our job is like, okay, how do we pull this out?
- 37:44SPEAKER_00: Weave those through lines to execution.
- 37:47SPEAKER_00: But okay, why are you drooling over that?
- 37:50SPEAKER_00: Like what made it so impactful?
- 37:52SPEAKER_01: I think also I love the aesthetic.
- 37:54SPEAKER_01: Like for me, the aesthetic matters.
- 37:57SPEAKER_01: My kind of vibe.
- 37:58SPEAKER_01: So it it pulls out, I guess for me, what I like, but it's like that higher version of what I like.
- 38:05SPEAKER_01: So it's always gonna pull me up.
- 38:07SPEAKER_01: Versus, I think if it was like lots of different colors and bright, and it just wouldn't be me.
- 38:12SPEAKER_01: So for me, I was like, oh, I wouldn't resonate as much.
- 38:14SPEAKER_01: So I think that's why, because it had this elegance, it had this power.
- 38:19SPEAKER_01: It was not like rapid transitions or anything.
- 38:23SPEAKER_01: It was this soft, grounded, like slow power.
- 38:26SPEAKER_01: I was like, oh, yeah, which reflects me.
- 38:29SPEAKER_01: So that's why it resonated.
- 38:30SPEAKER_01: But even Freedom Women Live, like I'm like, this is a show.
- 38:33SPEAKER_01: I had never been to a conference before, so I don't really have anything to compare it to.
- 38:37SPEAKER_01: Wow.
- 38:37SPEAKER_01: But I was like, this is incredible.
- 38:40SPEAKER_01: Like this is this is not just like we're gonna sit here and talk business all day.
- 38:45SPEAKER_01: Like, I felt like I was taken on a journey.
- 38:48SPEAKER_01: Like I was, it was like a three-day movie.
- 38:51SPEAKER_01: To me, you must, you're just nodding your head and you're gonna think this.
- 38:54SPEAKER_01: But like when you watch a really good movie, there's a through line, but it takes you on this emotional journey, right?
- 38:59SPEAKER_01: You start off, you open, it gets you excited, and then something happens.
- 39:03SPEAKER_01: And then that's what it felt like.
- 39:05SPEAKER_01: It felt like a whole journey, a whole experience, a whole like blown away.
- 39:10SPEAKER_01: But I'm sure you do this with all the things, but from outside perspective, me, that's why I thought both the campaign-wise online with a horse and even the live event, I was just like, this is this was an experience.
- 39:21SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 39:22SPEAKER_01: And it was amazing.
- 39:23SPEAKER_00: Yes.
- 39:24SPEAKER_00: What did it what kind of identity did that activate on the other side?
- 39:29SPEAKER_01: I mean, I could go, I changed my whole business.
- 39:33SPEAKER_01: Like everything was just like because I felt like I was taken on that journey.
- 39:37SPEAKER_01: I feel like if you just put people in a room, you put some nice lights, some good music, people aren't going to transfer.
- 39:43SPEAKER_01: Like you were saying.
- 39:44SPEAKER_01: I'm basically just confirming what you were saying.
- 39:46SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 39:46SPEAKER_01: I felt like because I was taken on this, like emotional, even with the singer.
- 39:51SPEAKER_01: Oh my gosh, like the song she sang at the end, you say I'd never heard before.
- 39:57SPEAKER_01: That song has changed my life.
- 39:58SPEAKER_01: Wow.
- 39:59SPEAKER_01: Just hearing that song, and I I felt like it captured, and then like you guys did a beautiful job of tying it up with a bow and like sealing it at the end.
- 40:08SPEAKER_01: Like, I just felt like I went on this whole journey.
- 40:11SPEAKER_01: It was, it was just incredible.
- 40:12SPEAKER_01: So, like, kudos to you, like you and you guys, and the whole thing because it was from the outside, amazing.
- 40:18SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and it changed everything for you.
- 40:20SPEAKER_00: Everything.
- 40:20SPEAKER_00: I mean, Bridget is such a genius and such an artist.
- 40:24SPEAKER_00: And and what I love is like when we co-create with women, they have to have that vision.
- 40:29SPEAKER_00: They have to have that lived aura and that essence inside of them.
- 40:33SPEAKER_00: And then we just amplify it, right?
- 40:35SPEAKER_00: We put, we put structure or through lines into it.
- 40:38SPEAKER_00: But like Bridget is like all right, she's so clear on like, I know I want women to be seen in a bigger way.
- 40:45SPEAKER_00: I want them to feel like they're the star of this show.
- 40:48SPEAKER_00: And so though that's just what we built off of.
- 40:51SPEAKER_00: But kudos really to her because the vision someone like that has and can carry through the brand is felt.
- 41:00SPEAKER_00: And then just like you said, you didn't need to like have a one-on-one in the back room.
- 41:05SPEAKER_00: You felt the experience, you were taken on a journey that transformed you without needing words at all.
- 41:11SPEAKER_01: I love that you said without needing words at all.
- 41:14SPEAKER_01: I mean, there was one question that I on the day one that I felt like that was it.
- 41:19SPEAKER_01: But after that, it was, it wasn't even the words.
- 41:23SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 41:23SPEAKER_01: It was everything else.
- 41:25SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 41:26SPEAKER_01: And this is what even going back to the messaging we were talking about, people are also caught up in the words and the messaging as like some of those powerful things, especially women, I think, and like women selling to other women, we're very, we're not just buying logic, we're not just buying numbers, we're not just buying words, we're buying experience, we're buying how something feels.
- 41:45SPEAKER_01: We are emotional buyers.
- 41:46SPEAKER_01: So if you're not putting that behind your brand, well, then it's going to fall flat even with the perfect words or the perfect funnel or whatever it is that you're using.
- 41:56SPEAKER_00: Exactly.
- 41:57SPEAKER_00: And I think too, women that are already successful, they already nailed messaging and marketing and funnels.
- 42:03SPEAKER_00: They're bored and their audience is bored.
- 42:06SPEAKER_00: And now when you've already gotten to a certain level of success, you know, when we work with women that are seven-figure businesses going to eight, eight going to nine, it's no longer about the tactics.
- 42:16SPEAKER_00: Like it has nothing to do with that.
- 42:18SPEAKER_00: And they they have that lived knowing.
- 42:20SPEAKER_00: And so the only place to go is the nonlinear, is the intangibles.
- 42:25SPEAKER_00: And this is what scares so many people that are still married to the tactics because it's like, what am I gonna get out of this?
- 42:31SPEAKER_00: And the ones that really commit to this nonlinear felt experience and activating that in themselves, and then in their world, not the other way around.
- 42:41SPEAKER_00: You don't start with the world because again, that's linear.
- 42:43SPEAKER_00: It's like, okay, let me reverse engineer.
- 42:45SPEAKER_00: No, you go on the journey, you activate a bigger version of yourself, and then the world reveals itself.
- 42:51SPEAKER_00: The world deepens, the world becomes precise.
- 42:54SPEAKER_00: There's more precision there.
- 42:56SPEAKER_00: And that's what really takes brands to the next level.
- 42:59SPEAKER_01: I'm just nodding along because I feel like, yeah, we jam.
- 43:02SPEAKER_01: We're like, yes, I found I found a person.
- 43:04SPEAKER_01: So we jam.
- 43:05SPEAKER_01: You spoke a lot about vision and having like a big vision that kind of anchors you through.
- 43:11SPEAKER_01: I'm just gonna assume a big part of having that big vision is being your own muse.
- 43:16SPEAKER_01: And I know you used to talk about being a muse.
- 43:18SPEAKER_01: Can you speak about the role of being your own muse and being a muse for your vision and how that kind of all goes together?
- 43:25SPEAKER_01: Oh my gosh.
- 43:26SPEAKER_00: I am gonna geek out right now.
- 43:28SPEAKER_00: Do I have everyone's permission?
- 43:30SPEAKER_00: Because we could go on a whole journey with the muse.
- 43:32SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna give some examples.
- 43:34SPEAKER_00: So when you think about, let's just use luxury brands again.
- 43:40SPEAKER_00: There's never one person that we're looking towards.
- 43:44SPEAKER_00: It's an identity that's reinforced by a muse.
- 43:48SPEAKER_00: And a muse is a mythical character.
- 43:51SPEAKER_00: It's like a lived, embodied archetype.
- 43:54SPEAKER_00: It it's a it's an elevated, I'm I'm thinking of like fairy tales.
- 44:00SPEAKER_00: Is a character.
- 44:01SPEAKER_00: And what I see with Muse is if you could look at yourself as the character of your brand and almost allow yourself to play in that mythical land.
- 44:11SPEAKER_00: So, like me showing up today, this is this is the muse.
- 44:16SPEAKER_00: This is me in my muse energy.
- 44:18SPEAKER_00: Now, me at home in the sofa, I'm still this version, but this is an elevated frequency of me.
- 44:24SPEAKER_00: That's the muse.
- 44:25SPEAKER_00: So you have to look at yourself, let's say you're the center of the brand as the muse.
- 44:30SPEAKER_00: And you have to elevate this version.
- 44:33SPEAKER_00: Like, what is the biggest version of you?
- 44:35SPEAKER_00: Me, I'm downtown, I'm strutting in this outfit.
- 44:39SPEAKER_00: I'm the most magnetic, most connected, embodied version of me.
- 44:43SPEAKER_00: And I, you know, it's the Emily in Paris for me is to give you a visual.
- 44:47SPEAKER_00: And yet, I also know it's a character.
- 44:51SPEAKER_00: It's not necessarily, it doesn't have to, there's a little bit of a separation, but it's always my point of activation.
- 44:57SPEAKER_00: Because when I step into the muse, I become that bigger version of me and I play into her.
- 45:02SPEAKER_00: But then what that does for the brand is if your brand has this muse, this archetype, this mythical creature, then people can start buying into that identity.
- 45:11SPEAKER_00: They can start tapping into this bigger frequency, and you're just the representation of that.
- 45:16SPEAKER_00: But it's all aligned with the brand and the world that you're building.
- 45:19SPEAKER_00: It's all intentional.
- 45:21SPEAKER_00: I dress like this because it's the biggest version of me.
- 45:24SPEAKER_00: And yet the biggest version of me drives the direction of the biggest version of my brand world forward.
- 45:30SPEAKER_00: Does that make sense?
- 45:31SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah.
- 45:31SPEAKER_00: I'm just nodding.
- 45:32SPEAKER_00: I'm like, I love all.
- 45:33SPEAKER_00: But like you get to play into that.
- 45:35SPEAKER_00: Like so many people are like, okay, they don't, they don't let them that be the mythical creature.
- 45:41SPEAKER_00: The biggest campaigns, there's not, you don't see someone's face really.
- 45:45SPEAKER_00: You like you said you you wanted to do or you did a perfume campaign.
- 45:48SPEAKER_00: It's like you see the woman like mysteriously running to the hotel lobby.
- 45:54SPEAKER_00: Can you see the details?
- 45:55SPEAKER_00: How can we do this?
- 45:56SPEAKER_01: Can we I want to run it to the piece right now?
- 45:58SPEAKER_01: He's like, and what you want me to have this rig and I'm just following you?
- 46:01SPEAKER_01: Like, yeah.
- 46:02SPEAKER_00: It's like, and you're like, just show a smidge of my face.
- 46:05SPEAKER_00: Not all, because it's like it's a mystery and dramatic.
- 46:09SPEAKER_00: Because why?
- 46:10SPEAKER_00: Because what are you looking to activate in people with that?
- 46:13SPEAKER_00: Is it you, live, the leader of this thing, or is it this muse?
- 46:17SPEAKER_00: It's this mystery, it's this like movie, this this thing that activates someone.
- 46:22SPEAKER_00: And that's not always you forward-facing, it's like that mythical creature that represents an identity.
- 46:31SPEAKER_00: Yeah, 100%.
- 46:33SPEAKER_01: I have one, I think, final question to kind of bring this all together with the muse and the vision and the identity.
- 46:40SPEAKER_01: And maybe you've noticed too, is I've noticed women, especially lately, not giving themselves permission to evolve, right?
- 46:48SPEAKER_01: Not giving themselves permission to evolve their identity, evolve visually in their style, in their campaigns and what they're doing.
- 46:55SPEAKER_01: Can you just like speak to that and like what you want to say on evolving and really giving yourself permission to evolve visually?
- 47:02SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 47:04SPEAKER_00: If you're not allowing yourself to evolve specifically visually, there's probably something inside of you that feels like it's not safe to be that version of you.
- 47:15SPEAKER_00: You still feel like that is the version of you, but there's not that permission to really become who you really are here to be and born to be.
- 47:25SPEAKER_00: The bigger you go, the bigger it gets.
- 47:27SPEAKER_00: So, like these big campaigns, this bigger identity, if you don't allow yourself to evolve into that version, this is so dramatic.
- 47:36SPEAKER_00: You will die inside.
- 47:37SPEAKER_00: Oh, you will.
- 47:38SPEAKER_00: You literally will.
- 47:39SPEAKER_00: And I've done it and I've seen women do it, and I've done it every time I'm on the edge of the next evolution of me.
- 47:46SPEAKER_00: Because we always, it's like that nervous system work.
- 47:50SPEAKER_00: It's okay, I've expanded.
- 47:52SPEAKER_00: Oh God, let me retract into the version of me that I've been or that I know.
- 47:57SPEAKER_00: And my only like wish for you is that you just push that edge of expression and you go to the evolution because you won't know who the version of you is on the other side.
- 48:08SPEAKER_00: But that version of you will wake you up and it will bring you alive and it will always be the answer to who you're desiring to become in the business and the brand.
- 48:17SPEAKER_00: But you have to go on that journey.
- 48:20SPEAKER_01: I love that because I do think so time so many times when you don't allow yourself to evolve, especially visually, whether that's the style, the colors, I mean, even the fonts, everything.
- 48:30SPEAKER_01: And I know people are like, oh, Instagram doesn't matter.
- 48:32SPEAKER_01: But if you were to go to like your Instagram right now, is this the highest expression?
- 48:36SPEAKER_01: Like you know it is in terms of what it looks like, but they become so attached to the old, and then there's this mismatch, this incongruency because they're kind of afraid to like let go of that and and to give themselves that permission and to evolve into maybe it's something completely different.
- 48:54SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 48:55SPEAKER_01: Because that's also, I find it's when it's going to be very different.
- 48:58SPEAKER_01: It's not just a font change.
- 49:00SPEAKER_01: It's like, oh, this is now who I am.
- 49:03SPEAKER_01: This is now who I am.
- 49:05SPEAKER_01: And it's like, well, will they accept this new version of me?
- 49:08SPEAKER_01: Will they will I be rejected?
- 49:10SPEAKER_01: How will old clients or how will like my current people react if I turn this way or turn that way?
- 49:16SPEAKER_01: It's it's huge.
- 49:18SPEAKER_01: But like you said, if not, then you're just gonna suffocate and die and then not feel fulfilled in your life and not serve anyone.
- 49:25SPEAKER_00: The diluted version of you serves no one.
- 49:28SPEAKER_00: The biggest version of you will transform and shift culture, it will move the planet forward.
- 49:34SPEAKER_00: Like I'm so big on being the biggest version of you always and pushing that edge and stepping into that own unknown.
- 49:41SPEAKER_00: And when you're on that edge and you're right in the middle, we go back to the very beginning of this podcast.
- 49:47SPEAKER_00: Are you willing and daring to be the fullest version of who you are?
- 49:52SPEAKER_00: And that requires you to let go of the noise and who thinks this or might think this, because when you're being the truth of who you are fully, all of that dissipates and the world responds accordingly.
- 50:05SPEAKER_01: I feel like that's the perfect place to end off.
- 50:07SPEAKER_01: Ditto.
- 50:08SPEAKER_01: And everyone listening is now going to go be the biggest versions.
- 50:12SPEAKER_01: They're gonna remember this episode.
- 50:13SPEAKER_01: They're like, I'm gonna go be the biggest version.
- 50:15SPEAKER_01: I want everyone listening to go out and do at least one thing that is representative of that biggest version.
- 50:20SPEAKER_01: Like Brittany was saying, whether that's something in your closet, an accessory, maybe you are gonna go book a new campaign.
- 50:26SPEAKER_01: Maybe you're just gonna reinvent the all the visuals, all the branding, whatever it is, but at least one thing that's like, this is my biggest expression.
- 50:34SPEAKER_01: And maybe start asking yourself that on like a daily or weekly basis of like, is this my highest expression?
- 50:39SPEAKER_01: Is this the basic expression of me that there is?
- 50:42SPEAKER_01: Can we go bigger here?
- 50:43SPEAKER_01: Can we go bigger there?
- 50:44SPEAKER_01: And really start to find all of those gaps.
- 50:47SPEAKER_01: And I'm sure this is something you're not even gonna ask yourself once, but this is something you're gonna continue to ask yourself day, like, like I said, weekly, monthly, quarterly, yearly of like, who do you want to evolve into next?
- 50:58SPEAKER_01: And I'm I'm just gonna close this off.
- 51:00SPEAKER_01: To me, that gets to be so beautiful.
- 51:02SPEAKER_01: It gets to be this like wonderful discovery of like, oh, who do I want to evolve into next?
- 51:07SPEAKER_01: What do I want?
- 51:08SPEAKER_01: Oh, this is the expression of me.
- 51:09SPEAKER_01: No, now we're doing this.
- 51:11SPEAKER_01: And it's just gonna bring so much life for us.
- 51:14SPEAKER_01: So, Brittany, thank you for you.
- 51:16SPEAKER_01: Thank you for bringing this conversation forward.
- 51:18SPEAKER_01: Thank you for your work, what you're doing for women for the world.
- 51:21SPEAKER_01: And I'm looking forward to seeing all of the creative campaigns that you're gonna be doing this year.
- 51:26SPEAKER_00: Wow, thank you.
- 51:27SPEAKER_00: This has been the best conversation of my life.
- 51:30SPEAKER_01: I love you.
- 51:31SPEAKER_01: Seriously.
- 51:32SPEAKER_01: Thank you guys so much for watching.
- 51:34SPEAKER_01: Don't forget to give this a thumbs up and leave a rating and review on Apple and Spotify.
- 51:39SPEAKER_01: We will also leave all of Britney's information down below because you're gonna want to go follow this legend.
- 51:44SPEAKER_01: And I will see you in the next episode.
- 51:46SPEAKER_01: Bye.
