- 0:00Speaker 1: This is Kiss Breakfast.
- 0:02Speaker 2: All right, let's go to Nat and get her here
- 0:04Speaker 2: to Celeb News. What do you got?
- 0:05Speaker 3: Apparently, the NFL are considering two major acts for the
- 0:09Speaker 3: 2027 Super Bowl halftime show. Now, we know that this
- 0:13Speaker 3: will be announced in the next week or two because
- 0:15Speaker 3: they always announce in late September. Last year it was
- 0:18Speaker 3: announced on September 28th, the year before September 8th, September 24th.
- 0:22Speaker 3: So it's coming around. And apparently the two that they're
- 0:24Speaker 3: considering at the top of their list are Harry Styles
- 0:28Speaker 3: and Justin Bieber.
- 0:29Speaker 2: Go Bieber.
- 0:30Speaker 3: Did you know, though, that Jay-Z is the one who
- 0:32Speaker 3: has the final say on the halftime performer because his company,
- 0:36Speaker 3: Rock Nation, are the NFL's live music entertainment strategists. So
- 0:41Speaker 3: when it comes down to making that final decision and
- 0:43Speaker 3: who they think is should, you know, have the performance,
- 0:46Speaker 3: it will be kind of his call.
- 0:48Speaker 2: So if he doesn't like you, it might not be you.
- 0:50Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, it's worth mentioning as well, by the way,
- 0:52Speaker 3: the NFL doesn't pay these people. If anything, in a
- 0:54Speaker 3: lot of cases.
- 0:55Speaker 1: Their performance is free.
- 0:56Speaker 3: Well, if anything, in a lot of cases, they actually
- 0:58Speaker 3: put their own money in to make sure the performance
- 0:59Speaker 3: is really good. But it's all done to boost their
- 1:02Speaker 3: streaming or if they've got a tour coming up to
- 1:04Speaker 3: boost ticket sales. But it's also just seen by them
- 1:06Speaker 3: as a privilege to be able to do it because
- 1:09Speaker 3: the stadium, or sorry, the stage that they're performing on
- 1:12Speaker 3: is so big.
- 1:13Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:14Speaker 1: I like Bieber's songs better, but I think I'm with Nat. Like,
- 1:17Speaker 1: I think Harry's a better performer.
- 1:19Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:19Speaker 1: He'll put on a better show. Right.
- 1:21Speaker 2: Oh, yeah. Bieber, what did he do? Was it Coach
- 1:23Speaker 2: Shellery just sat there on his laptop?
- 1:24Speaker 3: Coach Shellery just sat on his laptop.
- 1:25Speaker 4: Like, his whole.
- 1:26Speaker 3: His whole image now is being really nonchalant and just
- 1:29Speaker 3: kind of like doing the least, whereas Harry does the most.
- 1:32Speaker 3: He's wearing feathers. He's wearing sparkles. So despite me also
- 1:35Speaker 3: preferring Bieber's music, I think Harry's a better performer.
- 1:38Speaker 2: You're going Harry.
- 1:39Speaker 3: And he's going up from last year we had Bad Bunny,
- 1:41Speaker 3: don't forget. So we're backing up Bad Bunny. Before that, Kendrick, Usher, Rihanna,
- 1:46Speaker 3: and my personal favourite the year before, 2022, they had Dr. Dre,
- 1:49Speaker 3: Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Blige, Kendrick Lamar. They just
- 1:52Speaker 3: had like a number of performers.
- 1:53Speaker 2: That was amazing.
- 1:54Speaker 3: That one was top tier for me.
- 1:56Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:56Speaker 3: So we'll find out shortly. In other news, Dave Franco,
- 1:59Speaker 3: you know, James Franco's little brother, he was in Bad Neighbors.
- 2:03Speaker 3: He was in 21 Jump Street.
- 2:05Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 2:05Speaker 3: He's the latest episode on the Armchair Expert podcast. And
- 2:08Speaker 3: he was explaining why, like you, Mikey, he's someone who
- 2:11Speaker 3: chooses to stay off social media.
- 2:13Speaker 2: Let's have a listen.
- 2:15Speaker 4: No shame to anyone else. Like, I get the advantage
- 2:18Speaker 4: of it. I get why it's so addictive. I get
- 2:20Speaker 4: all the stuff. But for me, it just scares me.
- 2:23Speaker 4: It's just like, I just don't want to put myself
- 2:27Speaker 4: out there to a bunch of strangers who inevitably will
- 2:31Speaker 4: tear me down every single day.
- 2:33Speaker 2: Yeah. Look, I am on social media, right? Where's my bell?
- 2:38Speaker 2: It's there. Don't give it to him. You ring it.
- 2:40Speaker 4: Why?
- 2:41Speaker 2: I was just going to say, you can look me
- 2:43Speaker 2: up on Insta, Mikey Radio.
- 2:44Speaker 1: I'm on there. Ring the bell. Death brick.
- 2:47Speaker 2: But what I do is I just post and then
- 2:49Speaker 2: I don't interact. So I am on socials. I'm like him.
- 2:53Speaker 2: I'm guessing he's not even on it. I just don't
- 2:54Speaker 2: look at anything like Nat's engagement, Nat's baby thing. I
- 2:59Speaker 2: missed all that. I actually posted.
- 3:01Speaker 1: I actually think that's worse then because you are missing
- 3:03Speaker 1: all your friends things and people know that you're on it,
- 3:05Speaker 1: but you're not congratulating them or anything like that.
- 3:07Speaker 2: No, but I just don't scroll because I feel the
- 3:09Speaker 2: scrolling is what's bad for your mental health. I did
- 3:11Speaker 2: actually miss something. I had a friend, a close friend,
- 3:14Speaker 2: and one of her relatives passed away and there was
- 3:16Speaker 2: a post about it and I didn't know. You missed it, yeah. Yeah,
- 3:19Speaker 2: my mate told me. But yeah, that's what I find unhealthy,
- 3:21Speaker 2: the endless scrolling. But if you don't have.
- 3:24Speaker 3: A problem with it, then I feel as if, like,
- 3:27Speaker 3: clearly it affects him, clearly it affects you, it doesn't
- 3:29Speaker 3: affect me, so therefore I'm fine being on it. We
- 3:31Speaker 3: don't need to preach that people shouldn't be on it.
- 3:34Speaker 3: If you've got a healthy relationship with it, I think
- 3:36Speaker 3: it's fine. Like, clearly you do, Amy.
- 3:38Speaker 1: I have a healthier relationship with it now. Back when
- 3:41Speaker 1: I was a stay-at-home mum... Instagram became like an online
- 3:44Speaker 1: mother's group community for me and it was so good
- 3:47Speaker 1: and so helpful and we all kind of had each
- 3:49Speaker 1: other's backs and I spoke really vulnerably about, you know,
- 3:52Speaker 1: tough times, good, bad, all the ugly stuff. But what
- 3:55Speaker 1: I realised is as you grow and your followers grow,
- 3:58Speaker 1: there's going to be people that hate you and the
- 4:02Speaker 1: hate followers are... really nasty. And then there are a
- 4:06Speaker 1: few people and 98% of the women on my platform
- 4:09Speaker 1: are so lovely and so beautiful, but there are people
- 4:12Speaker 1: who would just, you can't appease everyone, right? Not everyone's
- 4:15Speaker 1: going to like who you are and what you do
- 4:16Speaker 1: and what you put out there as a person, but
- 4:18Speaker 1: they're so nasty and they'll pick apart because ultimately they
- 4:22Speaker 1: can form opinions off the back of a photo and
- 4:26Speaker 1: they pick apart your appearance. They used to pick apart
- 4:28Speaker 1: my husband's appearance. They would say horrible things about my
- 4:31Speaker 1: kids and So it just comes part and parcel.
- 4:35Speaker 4: It's the trolls, yeah?
- 4:36Speaker 1: Yeah, it's part of the territory.
- 4:38Speaker 2: What are you like with the scrolling though? Are you
- 4:40Speaker 2: constantly looking?
- 4:41Speaker 1: I don't spend a lot of time on my phone anymore.
- 4:43Speaker 2: You actively put it away and stuff?
- 4:46Speaker 1: Yeah, well, I'll post or I'll accept a kiss collab
- 4:49Speaker 1: or whatever and then I tend to put it down.
- 4:51Speaker 1: I've got like my DMs and I will reply to
- 4:55Speaker 1: my friends and the people who I know well enough.
- 4:58Speaker 1: I don't spend enough time. I'm sure there's horrendous messages
- 5:01Speaker 1: in there still, but I don't see them because I
- 5:02Speaker 1: don't spend enough time on it.
- 5:03Speaker 2: Yeah. You've got a healthy relationship.
- 5:05Speaker 4: Yeah.
