Transcript
- 0:01Speaker 1: You're listening to Hawk Talk with former Seahawks wide receiver
- 0:04Speaker 1: Michael Bumpus. Playfake, go to roll right, jumps it off
- 0:07Speaker 1: into the right flass to Michael Bumpets, who bounces off
- 0:09Speaker 1: a one tackler gets inside the forty down of the
- 0:12Speaker 1: thirty five yard line. Powered by Seahawks dot Com, Matt
- 0:15Speaker 1: pump fake's looking at the goal line. He throws it
- 0:17Speaker 1: into the end zone. Touchdown Seahawks. It's Michael Bumpers with
- 0:21Speaker 1: a diving kitch in the end zone. Ten yard touchdown
- 0:25Speaker 1: reception for Bumpets, and the kid out of Washington State
- 0:28Speaker 1: has found himself a place on this team. Now here's
- 0:31Speaker 1: your host, Nasa Chuby. Tinker's gonna snap at Dixon's gonna
- 0:36Speaker 1: spot it and from thirty two? Can Myers win this one?
- 0:41Speaker 1: In overtime for the Seahawks. There's the snap there to spot,
- 0:44Speaker 1: the kick is away, and the kick is gone. The
- 0:47Speaker 1: Seahawks win the game, the final regular season game over
- 0:52Speaker 1: the year, they winning it at home against the Rams,
- 0:57Speaker 1: and now the playoff chances still lived for the Seahawks.
- 1:02Speaker 1: The final score Seattle nineteen go Ram sixteen. A hard
- 1:07Speaker 1: fuk battle and Jason Myers wins it for the field
- 1:11Speaker 1: goal in overtime. Welcome into another edition of Hawk Talk.
- 1:15Speaker 1: The Seahawks are in the postseason. The football gods were
- 1:18Speaker 1: looking down on us, and it was so beautiful. Jason
- 1:20Speaker 1: Meyers got a chance at redemption, gets the Seahawks into
- 1:24Speaker 1: the playoffs after they beat the Rams nineteen to sixteen overtime,
- 1:26Speaker 1: and the Seahawks got the help they needed from the
- 1:28Speaker 1: Detroit Lions. Thank you Dan Campbell and everybody in Detroit
- 1:32Speaker 1: forgetting the Seahawks in the playoffs. But it's about that time.
- 1:35Speaker 1: Let's go through what happened on Sunday, what had happened.
- 1:38Speaker 1: See what had happened at first left what had happened
- 1:42Speaker 1: was unhawk knocking. Man. So when we're doing our postgame
- 1:47Speaker 1: show last night, we were obviously the game was going on,
- 1:50Speaker 1: we knew we had won. Detroit was playing. They were
- 1:52Speaker 1: down early in that game, trying to fight back. And
- 1:54Speaker 1: we get off the air and there's still a half
- 1:55Speaker 1: hour ago. Everyone's kind of going their separate ways. We're
- 1:58Speaker 1: all texting each other. How'd you enjoy the last thirty
- 2:00Speaker 1: minutes of that Packers Lions game? Oh man, it was awesome.
- 2:04Speaker 1: You know. I went to the spot and met up
- 2:05Speaker 1: with with some friends and stuff, and all Seahawks fans
- 2:08Speaker 1: were Lions fans. I actually met some people from Detroit
- 2:12Speaker 1: who were watching the game, and they were it was
- 2:15Speaker 1: bitter sweet. They're like, yeah, we're not playing for anything,
- 2:18Speaker 1: but at least we can help you guys out. But
- 2:20Speaker 1: it was intense. Man. It was like I was watching
- 2:21Speaker 1: the seaholl game honestly, like, I'm rooting for the Lions.
- 2:24Speaker 1: On third and long, they have a crazy like fleet
- 2:28Speaker 1: flicker type play where they convert and making what third
- 2:31Speaker 1: and two or something like that. Then on fourth down,
- 2:34Speaker 1: Jared Goff is going forward. I'm like, I was emotionally
- 2:36Speaker 1: invested in that game. Oh yeah, to say the least,
- 2:39Speaker 1: I was losing my mind that went home and had
- 2:41Speaker 1: my daughter at home, and I couldn't scream and yell
- 2:43Speaker 1: like I wanted to because we just tried to put
- 2:45Speaker 1: it down for bedtime. But it was a lot of
- 2:47Speaker 1: silent cheers. And I couldn't believe the stones on Dan
- 2:49Speaker 1: Campbell to run some of those plays. I get it. Yeah,
- 2:52Speaker 1: they didn't have the playoffs to play for us, so
- 2:54Speaker 1: maybe they had to play a little looser, but you
- 2:55Speaker 1: call a hook and ladder type play in that situation,
- 2:58Speaker 1: and then Jared Goff on all those fourth downs, I mean,
- 3:00Speaker 1: big ups the lines because thank you, Ray Roberts, whoever
- 3:03Speaker 1: you called, whatever you had to do down in Detroit
- 3:05Speaker 1: to get them to win at lambeau Field when they
- 3:07Speaker 1: were three of their last like nineteen or something like that.
- 3:09Speaker 1: Since the year two thousand and so, big ups to
- 3:12Speaker 1: Detroit got the Seahawks in the playoffs. But Bump it
- 3:15Speaker 1: started before that because the Seahawks, you know, had to
- 3:18Speaker 1: take care of business at home against the Rams in
- 3:20Speaker 1: this year. You know, some of those type of games
- 3:23Speaker 1: have been tough, and it's always tough against the Rams.
- 3:24Speaker 1: This is the first time the Seahawks have swept the
- 3:26Speaker 1: Rams since twenty thirteen, so it's been a long time.
- 3:29Speaker 1: And this game started completely opposite of the Jets game.
- 3:33Speaker 1: Jets game starts off six yard run by k nine Boom.
- 3:36Speaker 1: Three plays later Kobe Parkinson touchdown. This week, completely different
- 3:39Speaker 1: first play from Scrimmon Gino Smith intercepted by Jalen Ramsey,
- 3:43Speaker 1: Deepenhawks territory. The Seahawks defense would hold and the Rams
- 3:46Speaker 1: would settle for a field goal, making three nothing early bump.
- 3:49Speaker 1: But really disastrous start from the Seahawks on offense for sure, Yeah, disastrous.
- 3:54Speaker 1: G know those that pig defense holds up. So it
- 3:56Speaker 1: started off bad, but then the defense kind of kept
- 3:58Speaker 1: them in the game. You mentioned they go down three zero,
- 4:02Speaker 1: but then the Hawks to goal eleven plays fifty six yards,
- 4:04Speaker 1: but they will set a four field goal. He had
- 4:06Speaker 1: a false start from Geno. He was lined up as
- 4:09Speaker 1: a receiver during that wildcap formation with DJ Dallas standing
- 4:13Speaker 1: there at quarterback. I was excited when I saw that.
- 4:15Speaker 1: I go, just don't throw the football like they did
- 4:17Speaker 1: against the nine week two. DJ just run that thing.
- 4:21Speaker 1: And then after a Rams punt, they would exchange field goals,
- 4:26Speaker 1: making a score six to six, and it was just
- 4:28Speaker 1: a dog five man it was. You knew it was
- 4:29Speaker 1: gonna be a close one, but just the way the
- 4:31Speaker 1: game started it reassured you that your thoughts were accurate.
- 4:36Speaker 1: It's gonna be a tight game. Yeah. I mean every
- 4:38Speaker 1: time it is out with the Rams and something about it,
- 4:41Speaker 1: I don't know what it is. Sean McVay always has
- 4:43Speaker 1: those guys ready to play in divisional game. We saw
- 4:45Speaker 1: it with Detroit and Green Bay. Teams are gonna play
- 4:47Speaker 1: hard even if there's nothing on the line in The
- 4:49Speaker 1: Rams absolutely did that. After that, you know, six six,
- 4:52Speaker 1: The next three drives were punts before the Rams finally
- 4:55Speaker 1: getting the ends one themselves on a nine play eighty
- 4:57Speaker 1: seven yeard drive ending with a two two at le
- 5:00Speaker 1: in your touchdown run that made the score thirteen to
- 5:02Speaker 1: six and a a half and we went into halftime. You're like,
- 5:04Speaker 1: the Seahawks are felt like they were dominating the football game.
- 5:07Speaker 1: You just didn't see it on the scoreboard. So the
- 5:09Speaker 1: Seahawks get a force the Rams punt on the first
- 5:11Speaker 1: possession they take over the ball. They would put together
- 5:14Speaker 1: their best drive of the day to that point, five
- 5:16Speaker 1: plays eighty eight yards, ending with a Tyler Lockett thirty
- 5:19Speaker 1: six yard touchdown that tied the score up at thirteen. Yep. Well,
- 5:23Speaker 1: then the Hawks put together another nice drive. They stalled
- 5:26Speaker 1: on the one yard land though after going sixteen plays. Man,
- 5:29Speaker 1: I think the longest drive this year was seventeen plays
- 5:31Speaker 1: for these guys, So sixteen plays eighty two yards they
- 5:34Speaker 1: would have to settle for a field goal tie in
- 5:36Speaker 1: the game at sixteen. Then the Hawks force a punt.
- 5:40Speaker 1: They get the ball back with a chance to win
- 5:42Speaker 1: the game. Gino gets outside the pockety scrambles, gets to
- 5:46Speaker 1: the sideline. Jalen Ramsey Loris showed them gotta lay hit
- 5:49Speaker 1: right there. That tacked on fifteen more yards, setting up
- 5:52Speaker 1: a chance to win the game. Jason Myers kicking towards
- 5:56Speaker 1: the north end zone. As soon as I put all
- 5:58Speaker 1: that together, I'm thinking, Yeah, this ain't gonna be a
- 6:00Speaker 1: little chip shot. That's the north end zone. North endzon.
- 6:03Speaker 1: No play, No, it doesn't. And the wind started to
- 6:05Speaker 1: kind of pick up. It was wet, nasty game. It
- 6:07Speaker 1: hits off the upright and you're thinking, oh my goodness,
- 6:10Speaker 1: that forced overtime, and then you think, okay, Seahawks win
- 6:13Speaker 1: the toss. Chan on some T Jack energy r I P.
- 6:16Speaker 1: T Jack used to always win all them coin tosses.
- 6:19Speaker 1: And the Seahawks do nothing with their first possession. They
- 6:21Speaker 1: go three and out punt the football, and then their
- 6:25Speaker 1: defense is on the field and you're thinking, you know,
- 6:26Speaker 1: next score wins, So even a field goal, you're hoping
- 6:29Speaker 1: the defense could stand up strong, and they absolutely did that.
- 6:31Speaker 1: When Quandre Diggs comes up with a huge interception getting
- 6:34Speaker 1: the ball back from the Seahawks, we're gonna break that
- 6:36Speaker 1: play down in the film room. But that was a
- 6:38Speaker 1: huge play, season saving play by Quandre Diggs, honestly, because
- 6:41Speaker 1: it looked like Van Jefferson was open on that play.
- 6:43Speaker 1: He makes an unbelievable interception, setting the Seahawks giving him
- 6:46Speaker 1: the ball back. Yeah. I was actually in the Verizon
- 6:50Speaker 1: lounge that's in the south end zone looking through the
- 6:52Speaker 1: glass and saw go down. I saw Mayfield fire that thing.
- 6:56Speaker 1: I'm like, oh my goodness, and I to see Diggs
- 6:58Speaker 1: flying out of nowhere, intercepts and catches the football and
- 7:01Speaker 1: then points to Bobby right afterwards. Bobby's right there on
- 7:03Speaker 1: the sideline. Little gamesmanship there. Gino gets the football, they
- 7:07Speaker 1: go down the field, they start to march and they
- 7:10Speaker 1: set you know, and there were a couple of runs
- 7:11Speaker 1: by ken Walker during that drive too that really set
- 7:15Speaker 1: this guy's up for success. You get Myers within range,
- 7:18Speaker 1: he puts it on the foot home over time when
- 7:21Speaker 1: went back to the north end zone, and it made
- 7:25Speaker 1: things right, you know, absolutely, You're right. Ken Walker at
- 7:27Speaker 1: a nice twenty yard run that really set it up
- 7:28Speaker 1: and made it and made it a chip shot. And
- 7:30Speaker 1: then they got the ball on the other Hatch, and
- 7:32Speaker 1: I think that was a better suited for Jason Myers,
- 7:33Speaker 1: and Myers has I felt bad for him because he
- 7:36Speaker 1: has been amazing this season. He had best year of
- 7:38Speaker 1: his career, you know, and he was nailed, So I
- 7:41Speaker 1: had no doubt that he was going to make that
- 7:42Speaker 1: second one. And the Seahawks are in the playoffs after
- 7:45Speaker 1: we obviously we figure out what happened on Sunday Night football,
- 7:47Speaker 1: and the Seahawks have not missed the playoffs and consecutive
- 7:50Speaker 1: seasons under Pete Carroll, the tenth time they've made it
- 7:53Speaker 1: to the postseason. What Pete and John have done has
- 7:56Speaker 1: been amazing and honestly, bump this ghasting me probably in
- 8:00Speaker 1: my opinion, other than winning the Super Bowl, their best job,
- 8:03Speaker 1: given what the way they went through this offseason, the
- 8:05Speaker 1: players on the team, all the rookies are playing, has
- 8:07Speaker 1: to be their best job. And if they don't win
- 8:09Speaker 1: Executive of the Year to Coach of the Year, which
- 8:11Speaker 1: we're probably gonna get screwed over in it's a travesty
- 8:13Speaker 1: because the job they did this year is phenomenal. Yeah, man,
- 8:17Speaker 1: when it comes to losing the franchise quarterback riding with Gino,
- 8:21Speaker 1: when people are asking other quarterbacks to come in Drew
- 8:25Speaker 1: Lock over there. I did a film breakdown with Shane
- 8:28Speaker 1: Waldon and he loved some Drew Lock. But they ride
- 8:30Speaker 1: with Gino playing a whole bunch of rookies. It was
- 8:33Speaker 1: this show just the culture really matters in the organization
- 8:36Speaker 1: because you were able to get these young guys to
- 8:38Speaker 1: perform at a high level. And let's not forget then
- 8:40Speaker 1: you bring in Bruce Irvin Well I feel like elevated
- 8:43Speaker 1: the play of this defense. It was just overall a
- 8:46Speaker 1: great year. This year was going to be a success
- 8:48Speaker 1: even if they didn't make the playoffs, just because of
- 8:50Speaker 1: all the things they accomplished, but them making the playoffs
- 8:52Speaker 1: and doing it the way they did, icing on the cake.
- 8:56Speaker 1: Now it's about making some noise in this playoffs. Oh yeah,
- 8:59Speaker 1: once you're in dance. You just seen your ticket to
- 9:01Speaker 1: the dance. Once you get in, who knows what could happen.
- 9:03Speaker 1: We'll break down everything to know about the San Francisco
- 9:05Speaker 1: forty nine ers later this week, but let's getting the playmakers.
- 9:12Speaker 1: Playmakers starting off what we usually do, and that's Geno Smith.
- 9:22Speaker 1: But I'll be up front, he did not have his
- 9:24Speaker 1: best football game he said a postgame and I think
- 9:26Speaker 1: a couple different interviews that he might have played. He thought,
- 9:28Speaker 1: in his opinion, his worst game of the year, nineteen
- 9:30Speaker 1: of thirty one, two hundred thirteen yards, one touchdown, two interceptions.
- 9:34Speaker 1: But here's the thing about Gino, he still got the
- 9:36Speaker 1: job done when he died the most. Almost had two
- 9:39Speaker 1: essentially two game winning drives because he set up the
- 9:43Speaker 1: game initial game winner Jason Meyers. He missed that field goal,
- 9:45Speaker 1: takes him down the field again and overtime, so when
- 9:47Speaker 1: it counted, Geno Smith still did with his thing. And
- 9:50Speaker 1: due to setting a ton of records franchise, this is
- 9:53Speaker 1: sound crazy. Geno Smith's season has been this year set
- 9:56Speaker 1: the single season franchise record in attempts at five seventy two,
- 10:00Speaker 1: completions at three ninety nine and yards four thousand, two
- 10:03Speaker 1: hundred and eighty two, and completion percentage at sixty nine
- 10:06Speaker 1: point seven to six percent. He had, you know, arguably
- 10:10Speaker 1: the best quarterbacking season in the history of this franchise.
- 10:13Speaker 1: That includes Russell Wilson, Dave Craig, Matt Hasselback, Jim Zorn,
- 10:17Speaker 1: a lot of really good football players. He also became
- 10:20Speaker 1: a third qb in franchise history who throw thirty touchdowns
- 10:22Speaker 1: in a season, joining Russell Wilson, Dave greg So, Gino,
- 10:26Speaker 1: I mean, he didn't end it the best way statistically.
- 10:28Speaker 1: I was really hoping he'd get to seventy percent on
- 10:31Speaker 1: the season completion percentage. Would have been the thirteenth quarterback
- 10:34Speaker 1: all time to do that. But there's not enough words
- 10:37Speaker 1: to say about Geno Smith. What he's meant to this
- 10:39Speaker 1: team and to have the season he did with where
- 10:41Speaker 1: the odds or where people thought he was at just unbelievable. Man,
- 10:44Speaker 1: So shout out Geno Smith and having one of the
- 10:47Speaker 1: best seasons in sehak history. Yeah, extremely impressive what Gino did. Man,
- 10:52Speaker 1: I didn't think he had this in him, but yeah,
- 10:55Speaker 1: through the hater's wrong, don't right back, all right, Gotta
- 10:58Speaker 1: go to Ken Walker, Man, he had twenty nine cares
- 11:00Speaker 1: on hundred and fourteen yards. Walker joined Kurt Warner as
- 11:02Speaker 1: the second rookie and franchise history to rush four thousand yards.
- 11:06Speaker 1: He put together three straight one hundred yard rushing performances
- 11:10Speaker 1: and this is what you need when you think about it.
- 11:12Speaker 1: He really only played in like fourteen games. He did
- 11:14Speaker 1: this because he wasn't a starter. He wasn't getting a
- 11:16Speaker 1: lot of rest for shot Pinning was the guy, and
- 11:18Speaker 1: he is thrown into the starting position and had a
- 11:21Speaker 1: great year. Again, we talk about awards, this guy should get,
- 11:23Speaker 1: probably get Offensive Rookie of the Year. But you know,
- 11:26Speaker 1: how how the league do us? You never know, they
- 11:29Speaker 1: might give somebody else for sure. I mean he yeah,
- 11:33Speaker 1: maybe Garrett Wilson, I don't know. Ken Watson in the
- 11:35Speaker 1: playoffs leads the league and rookies and touchdowns, I don't know,
- 11:38Speaker 1: but keep it rolling. Tyler Lockett, he had a great game.
- 11:41Speaker 1: Two four reception in fifty four yards, one touchdown, that
- 11:44Speaker 1: amazing thirty six yard touchdown. Great ball by genus man.
- 11:47Speaker 1: Lockett always comes down with it, never worried about it.
- 11:49Speaker 1: If he's gonna get his feet and bounce. He became
- 11:51Speaker 1: the second player in franchise history to accord four straight
- 11:54Speaker 1: when thousand yards seasons, joining Hall of Famer Steve Largen.
- 11:59Speaker 1: Tyre lockeyman, consistent and day in day out, doesn't matter
- 12:03Speaker 1: about his hands, his ankles, need whatever. Tyler shows up
- 12:05Speaker 1: almost every single week and gets the job done. Yeah,
- 12:08Speaker 1: and it was a big touchdown he had. Man that
- 12:10Speaker 1: really set the tone and gave the Seahawks that extra
- 12:13Speaker 1: push to make him believe that they can get it done.
- 12:15Speaker 1: Bruce Irvin had himself a day. Three tackles, one and
- 12:17Speaker 1: a half sacks, one TfL, two quarterback hits. He made
- 12:21Speaker 1: plays early. He set the tone. I think the week
- 12:23Speaker 1: before he on he played in like eleven snaps or
- 12:25Speaker 1: something like that. They say, look, you rest up, because
- 12:27Speaker 1: we're gonna need you at the end of the season.
- 12:29Speaker 1: He did exactly that. And then we talked about this
- 12:31Speaker 1: guy already, Quandre Diggs. Four tackles, one pass defended, one
- 12:35Speaker 1: interception that saved the season. He ends the season with
- 12:40Speaker 1: four interceptions, the only player in the NFL to have
- 12:43Speaker 1: at least three interceptions the last six seasons. Man, Now,
- 12:47Speaker 1: when he got into the Pro Bowl, we were a
- 12:48Speaker 1: bit surprised, but it seemed like ever since he down
- 12:51Speaker 1: into the Pro Bowl, he's kind of stepped it up
- 12:53Speaker 1: a little bit. Again. He's the veteran guy. He understands
- 12:56Speaker 1: as you get lad into the season, you gotta keep
- 12:58Speaker 1: elevating exactly what he did. Yeah, Quandre, Honestly, he probably
- 13:01Speaker 1: should have eight intersections this season. I think he mentioned
- 13:04Speaker 1: that we used to putty him a couple of weeks ago,
- 13:06Speaker 1: and I think that might have skewed some of the
- 13:08Speaker 1: numbers when it came to Pro Bowl voting. But the
- 13:10Speaker 1: thing about this league is when players and coaches also
- 13:13Speaker 1: they all recognize Dyale, respect Quandre, and they respect his
- 13:15Speaker 1: game and they know what he contributes to the field.
- 13:17Speaker 1: So I love to see that from Quandre and then
- 13:19Speaker 1: some of the other young guys, Boy Mofe, Darryl Taylor.
- 13:22Speaker 1: Boy A had most productive game in the season and
- 13:24Speaker 1: talking to light the world on fire in the statue.
- 13:27Speaker 1: Three tackles, one sack, one QB hit, but he was active.
- 13:30Speaker 1: There's plenty of times I saw him setting the edge,
- 13:32Speaker 1: doing great job and run support, you know, things like
- 13:34Speaker 1: them that nature getting after the quarterbacks. So I'd love
- 13:36Speaker 1: to see that from boy and Darryl Taylor. He had
- 13:38Speaker 1: another sack, finished the year nine and a half sacks
- 13:41Speaker 1: in a year we I thought he was going to
- 13:43Speaker 1: have crazy double digits. I thought he'd have at least
- 13:46Speaker 1: twelve plus, and despite less playing time and despite it
- 13:49Speaker 1: taking him while to you know, really start to make
- 13:52Speaker 1: any noise, he still had nine and a half sacks.
- 13:54Speaker 1: So that just shows you if he can tap into
- 13:56Speaker 1: his real potential. He could be something pretty special. Bum
- 14:00Speaker 1: take us through the receiver round up another another week.
- 14:03Speaker 1: Not a lot of big numbers, Yeah, not a lot
- 14:08Speaker 1: of big numbers, but enough to get the w tire
- 14:10Speaker 1: Lockett four catches for fifty four yards, one touchdown, Kobe
- 14:14Speaker 1: Parkinson at two for forty seven, but a big reception
- 14:17Speaker 1: for thirty two yards. It felt like he had more
- 14:19Speaker 1: than that. Honestly, Decay had three for forty. You could
- 14:22Speaker 1: say Ramsey won this matchup. DK won the first round.
- 14:25Speaker 1: Ramsey got this one. Derek Young happy to see this
- 14:27Speaker 1: young man out there. Not only did he make plays
- 14:29Speaker 1: receiving the rock two for twenty four, he's on special
- 14:32Speaker 1: teams making plays as well. Kay Johnson got in there.
- 14:35Speaker 1: He had two for twenty one, no offan another four
- 14:38Speaker 1: receptions for twenty yards can walk on one for ten
- 14:40Speaker 1: and then DJ Dallas had a reception as well. So,
- 14:43Speaker 1: like you said, not a lot of huge numbers, but
- 14:47Speaker 1: the distribution was on point and timely plays were made. Yeah.
- 14:51Speaker 1: DJ Dallas, he mentioned that one he had one catch
- 14:53Speaker 1: minus three crazy one handed grab but he got hit
- 14:56Speaker 1: right in the thigh or right in the hip. I
- 14:58Speaker 1: know he's probably saw feeling that today, but let's flip
- 15:01Speaker 1: it over to the coaches corner. We talked about it.
- 15:03Speaker 1: What saved the year for the Seahawks. Defensively, Quandre Diggs
- 15:07Speaker 1: intercepts Baker Mayfield in overtime, second and fifteen acres in
- 15:14Speaker 1: the backfield. Mayfield from his home twenty one under center playface.
- 15:20Speaker 1: Mayfield's looking weft, gonna let it fly. You've got a man.
- 15:23Speaker 1: Van Jefferson credited picked up, picks up step time about
- 15:28Speaker 1: full side. Finally, Baker Mayfield throws off one, digs, came
- 15:35Speaker 1: from the middle of the field, raced all the lay
- 15:38Speaker 1: to the far side, had picked it off, his fourth
- 15:41Speaker 1: interception of the season. The Seahawks have had life, man.
- 15:47Speaker 1: I was just a hustle play from Diggs. Man when
- 15:50Speaker 1: you break this thing down, he has to hustle over
- 15:53Speaker 1: to the side of Terek willing Te Willen has a
- 15:55Speaker 1: curl that's ran in front of him. He has to
- 15:57Speaker 1: respect him, so he gives it the necessary attention. Looks
- 16:00Speaker 1: like he has a deep third. Quandre sees number twelve.
- 16:04Speaker 1: I believe that it is Van Jefferson. He hits the
- 16:06Speaker 1: corner and digs just I mean, this is like a drill,
- 16:11Speaker 1: you know, when you warm it before game drills, you
- 16:14Speaker 1: turn around, you run towards the post. This is the drill.
- 16:17Speaker 1: This is exactly what happened, man, And then he makes
- 16:20Speaker 1: the play and he makes it harder than it has
- 16:22Speaker 1: to be, I think, right, because if you go up
- 16:24Speaker 1: and attack the ball with two hands, you're you're more
- 16:27Speaker 1: liable to catch it. He kind of catches it over
- 16:29Speaker 1: the shoulder, which makes it look prettier though. I'll give
- 16:31Speaker 1: him that man style points for that, But that's just
- 16:34Speaker 1: him having that free range, you know, being that that
- 16:37Speaker 1: safety out there, having a room and make these plays.
- 16:40Speaker 1: And then as soon as he catches the football, he
- 16:42Speaker 1: points at his boy Bobby, who's right there, and people
- 16:45Speaker 1: are giving him a little bit of grief for not
- 16:47Speaker 1: getting that film. But I also ask these people to
- 16:50Speaker 1: make one of the biggest plays in the season and
- 16:52Speaker 1: let me know how you respond with her emotions and stuff.
- 16:55Speaker 1: But overall, man, this is a good play in a
- 16:57Speaker 1: deep third saw the corner breaks to the corner, makes
- 17:01Speaker 1: a heck of a play. Man Diggs looking like a
- 17:03Speaker 1: pro bowler. Yeah, I mean, that's how you draw it up.
- 17:06Speaker 1: That's teach tape. From a free safety standpoint, you're playing
- 17:08Speaker 1: that center field at well goes in motion, you only
- 17:11Speaker 1: have a tight end backside looks like Higbee stays in
- 17:14Speaker 1: and blocks, so you have one deep threat. And I
- 17:16Speaker 1: think Dick talked about a postgame he said, I saw
- 17:19Speaker 1: the ball in the air and he's like, oh my goodness.
- 17:21Speaker 1: He couldn't say what he was thinking in his head.
- 17:23Speaker 1: They called it an old blank read when you realize like, oh,
- 17:25Speaker 1: someone's running down the middle of the field. But he
- 17:27Speaker 1: flips his hip the second and you said, that's like
- 17:30Speaker 1: a drill. That's exactly what you thought of anyone's been
- 17:32Speaker 1: a dB before the coach laisy back forth, pedal, pedal, pedal, boom,
- 17:36Speaker 1: opens his shoulder, then you either speed turn or get
- 17:39Speaker 1: to the corner. And that's what he did. And you're right,
- 17:41Speaker 1: and I think he kind of catches it the way
- 17:44Speaker 1: he did because he kind of came flat right at
- 17:46Speaker 1: the end because that ball is a little bit underthrown
- 17:48Speaker 1: and that's just I mean, that's a hell of a play.
- 17:50Speaker 1: And it's crazy because Diggs has had three balls were
- 17:53Speaker 1: thrown right to him and felt like this year that
- 17:55Speaker 1: he couldn't come down with and he makes one of
- 17:57Speaker 1: the most difficult in the most high stressed situation of
- 18:00Speaker 1: the play. So shout out to Quandre Diggs. The little
- 18:03Speaker 1: man is getting after it. Love it. He calls everyone
- 18:05Speaker 1: else a little man. That's why I call him little man.
- 18:06Speaker 1: There he called me a little Manut be careful, man.
- 18:09Speaker 1: They'll be talking about like that every time he sees me,
- 18:11Speaker 1: going hey, little man, and I'm like, okay, Quandre, put
- 18:14Speaker 1: my business out there. But the Seahawks get it done,
- 18:18Speaker 1: going to the playoffs. I can't believe that we're here.
- 18:20Speaker 1: You know, I did say that I thought we'd be
- 18:22Speaker 1: in the playoffs. You know, I'm very I'm optimistic though,
- 18:24Speaker 1: bump so like I was speaking myself into believing it,
- 18:28Speaker 1: and I really thought we were going two h or
- 18:30Speaker 1: six and three and then things got a little shaky
- 18:32Speaker 1: towards the end. But the Seahawks get in the playoffs,
- 18:35Speaker 1: and like we said, I hope we have a couple
- 18:37Speaker 1: more of these as the season continues. But let's get
- 18:39Speaker 1: into victory formation. Here comes the Seahawk offense onto the
- 18:45Speaker 1: field and the Vikings defense crunching out there knowing that
- 18:49Speaker 1: one meal down and the Seahawks are gonna wind the
- 18:53Speaker 1: clock down and women's one. It's the victory formation on
- 18:56Speaker 1: Hawk Talk. Wasn't pretty, but the Hawks are back in
- 18:59Speaker 1: the playoffs after a tough, greedy win over their division rivals,
- 19:03Speaker 1: spoiling Bobby Wagner's home coming, and the Seahawks are back
- 19:06Speaker 1: in the playoffs, like we said, for the tenth time
- 19:09Speaker 1: in thirteen season with Pete Carroll and John Snyder. And
- 19:11Speaker 1: that's an unbelievable run, you know, especially in the year
- 19:14Speaker 1: where everyone doubted them, everyone said that they didn't know
- 19:16Speaker 1: what they're doing. And it's painfully obvious that y'all don't
- 19:20Speaker 1: know what you're doing, what you're talking about, and if
- 19:22Speaker 1: you're listening to the pregame. So this week we got
- 19:25Speaker 1: receipts you're gonna be hearing from us. Okay, oh man, Yeah,
- 19:30Speaker 1: Kim Walker got it done. Two third straight game going
- 19:32Speaker 1: over one hundred yards, and you saw rookies making plays everywhere.
- 19:36Speaker 1: Man Boy Maffi had a sag, Kobe Bryant had a sag.
- 19:39Speaker 1: Tarik was just being the avatar he is all over
- 19:42Speaker 1: the place. And the defense held the rams of four
- 19:45Speaker 1: for fourteen on third downs in just two hundred and
- 19:48Speaker 1: sixty nine total yards. That's what you want to see.
- 19:51Speaker 1: You didn't want the Rams are all of a sudden
- 19:54Speaker 1: become an offensive juggernaiut right, you haven't been that all year.
- 19:57Speaker 1: Be who you are. The defense made sure that, oh,
- 19:59Speaker 1: no question about it. Love to see that. The defense
- 20:01Speaker 1: has made a lot of improvements the last months. So
- 20:03Speaker 1: they're playing great and Gino Smith man getting it done
- 20:06Speaker 1: when it counts, you know, game on the line, when
- 20:08Speaker 1: it's winning time. Gino Smith has showed who he is
- 20:10Speaker 1: despite having a couple of throats through which he could
- 20:12Speaker 1: have back. And man, I just allude to the second
- 20:15Speaker 1: ago you trade Ross, Bobby's gone. Everyone laughs at the
- 20:19Speaker 1: QB situation. Worst team in the league, not gonna win
- 20:21Speaker 1: three games, and I I love I know they're not
- 20:25Speaker 1: the type of people, but I know Pete and John
- 20:27Speaker 1: are being like Man, we tried to tell him, We've
- 20:29Speaker 1: been doing this a long time. We know what we're doing.
- 20:32Speaker 1: People just don't don't understand. And I'm excited, bum because
- 20:34Speaker 1: of the Seawks are playing with house money right now.
- 20:37Speaker 1: They're playing with house money and go to San fran
- 20:38Speaker 1: do what you can do. Come on, it wasn't a rebuild. Nah,
- 20:42Speaker 1: it was not a rebuild. They said, look, we re
- 20:44Speaker 1: loove him. We might not have everything we need at
- 20:47Speaker 1: this point, but we got enough to go out there
- 20:49Speaker 1: and fight. That's exactly what they did this season. I'm
- 20:51Speaker 1: exceeded expectations. And now we go to San fran Baby,
- 20:55Speaker 1: book that flight and Nas, let's go. It's already buck
- 20:57Speaker 1: locked and loaded. Let's go get it done in San Francisco.
- 21:00Speaker 1: Go and quick. A little side note, Bump, I looked
