- 0:00Speaker 1: How about to be good That Woodbine is a really
- 0:02Speaker 1: cool place. All right.
- 0:07Speaker 2: So yes, now the movie is called Weapons, and we
- 0:14Speaker 2: don't know why, really do We don't quite yet. I'm
- 0:18Speaker 2: guessing that somehow the kids are weapons.
- 0:20Speaker 1: That was kind of my guess too.
- 0:22Speaker 2: But now the guy who made this movie just made
- 0:25Speaker 2: this the movie Barbarian tell us about You saw it,
- 0:30Speaker 2: oh man, so disturbing. You rent an airbnb, yeah, and
- 0:37Speaker 2: you find out that there's a creepy old person living.
- 0:41Speaker 1: In the basement, okay, and I will never rent.
- 0:47Speaker 2: An Airbnb again, and that there are tunnels under the airbnb.
- 0:52Speaker 1: Huh, oh man, I'll tell.
- 0:54Speaker 2: You it scared the hell out of movie.
- 0:56Speaker 1: You know, the chances are only like fifty to fifty
- 0:57Speaker 1: that that would happen.
- 0:58Speaker 2: Yeah, But the guy, the guy who made that, when
- 1:01Speaker 2: that movie was a hit, they came to him and said, here,
- 1:04Speaker 2: make movies, please, And here he is, so that he's
- 1:07Speaker 2: got the first one. It's called Weapons. Now this explains
- 1:10Speaker 2: the plot, okay of the movie, and it's scary as hell.
- 1:15Speaker 3: Okay, this is a true story that happened in my town.
- 1:20Speaker 3: So this one Wednesday is like a normal day for
- 1:23Speaker 3: the whole school but today was different. Every other class
- 1:31Speaker 3: had all their kids, but Missus Gandy's room was totally empty.
- 1:39Speaker 3: And do you know why Why Because the night before,
- 1:43Speaker 3: at two seventeen in the morning, every kid woke up,
- 1:49Speaker 3: got out of bed, walked downstairs and into the dark
- 1:57Speaker 3: and they never came.
- 2:00Speaker 1: Wow. Yeah, based on a true story. Why just hurt classroom?
- 2:08Speaker 2: Why only hurts.
- 2:11Speaker 4: Are children?
- 2:13Speaker 3: We have a lot of emotional parents here.
- 2:16Speaker 1: I think it's best if you keep some test that's
- 2:17Speaker 1: from this place.
- 2:19Speaker 2: That's Missus Gandy. Julia Garner, the Silver Surfer from the
- 2:22Speaker 2: Fantastic Four movie. And yeah, there's these creepy shots of kids,
- 2:34Speaker 2: you know, running down the street in the middle of
- 2:36Speaker 2: the night with their arms out like they're like they're flying,
- 2:40Speaker 2: you know, but they.
- 2:40Speaker 4: Look like shadows or yeah, but they're shadowy and and
- 2:43Speaker 4: nobody really knows what's going on.
- 2:45Speaker 1: Where did you go?
- 2:54Speaker 3: Yeah, this is where the story really starts.
- 2:58Speaker 2: Oh yeah, this will this will be interesting. Was going
- 3:03Speaker 2: to be theaters August in theaters. Yes, it's it's I
- 3:09Speaker 2: don't know if I can see it. Like I said,
- 3:10Speaker 2: you should watch Barbarian. If you can make it through Barbarian,
- 3:14Speaker 2: you might make it through this one all right. Okay,
- 3:19Speaker 2: so this whole Minecraft movie mayhem situation in the theaters,
- 3:24Speaker 2: crazy amount of money, yes, I mean the movie has
- 3:27Speaker 2: made a lot of money. Yeah, But then of course
- 3:29Speaker 2: there's the audience participation aspect.
- 3:31Speaker 1: Of the whole thing.
- 3:32Speaker 2: Right. Well, Warner Brothers is trying to figure out how
- 3:36Speaker 2: to you know, put a face on that that's acceptable,
- 3:41Speaker 2: reasonably acceptable, and they can't. They're just secretly liking all
- 3:46Speaker 2: of the money that they're getting, so they've decided to cash.
- 3:50Speaker 1: In on it.
- 3:50Speaker 2: Okay, Warner Brothers is announcing block Party Edition screenings of
- 3:57Speaker 2: the Minecraft Movie. So basically on May second, tomorrow, check
- 4:04Speaker 2: your theaters, okay, because the and look for block Party
- 4:09Speaker 2: Edition because that's the one where you're encouraged to sing along, encouraged.
- 4:17Speaker 2: So it's like a it really is like it rock
- 4:19Speaker 2: really is. They're they're like, they're encouraging you go to
- 4:22Speaker 2: these screenings if you want to partici So this is.
- 4:25Speaker 5: A smart thing to do. Then then kid people can
- 4:29Speaker 5: go and do that if they want.
- 4:30Speaker 1: Yeah, although I've seen some of the mess in some
- 4:34Speaker 1: of the some of the mess in the theaters.
- 4:36Speaker 2: Well, see, I used to feel bad for the for
- 4:38Speaker 2: the poor people who had to clean up after all
- 4:40Speaker 2: all of our Rocky Horror Picture shows. Speaking of Rocky Horror,
- 4:46Speaker 2: Disney which now owns, isn't that strange to say? Disney
- 4:50Speaker 2: now owns the Rocky Horror Picture Show. They oversaw a
- 4:55Speaker 2: ten month process to clean up the print and give
- 5:00Speaker 2: it a four K remaster on Blu Ray. Now, I'm
- 5:04Speaker 2: not sure do you want to see that movie?
- 5:06Speaker 1: Really?
- 5:06Speaker 2: Clearly, I'm not. I'm quite sure you want to do that.
- 5:12Speaker 2: Let's see, and remember I told you about the Sergeant
- 5:15Speaker 2: Rock movie. It's a DC character who's who's you know,
- 5:19Speaker 2: he's he's just a soldiers.
- 5:20Speaker 1: No powers.
- 5:22Speaker 2: And they were talking to let's see, it was Scottish actor,
- 5:27Speaker 2: good looking.
- 5:28Speaker 1: Penguin, good looking penguin.
- 5:31Speaker 2: Yeah, the penguin Colin fer We're talking to Colin Farrell
- 5:34Speaker 2: about playing him.
- 5:35Speaker 1: I believe he's Welsh, Welsh, thank.
- 5:37Speaker 2: You, but he I guess he said no, or they said, well,
- 5:41Speaker 2: maybe this isn't working out so well, so they're shelving
- 5:43Speaker 2: it all. So you're not going to get the Sergeant
- 5:45Speaker 2: Rock movie. You are, however, getting another Miami Wevice movie.
- 5:51Speaker 5: But when you say they're shelving that, that That's why
- 5:53Speaker 5: Carrie never jumps on anything until it's actually happening, because
- 5:57Speaker 5: a lot of things get talked about that don't.
- 6:00Speaker 2: They were ready to go forward on this, but apparently
- 6:02Speaker 2: there's some scheduling situations with a bunch of other stuff,
- 6:04Speaker 2: and James Gunn doesn't want to do Sergeant Rock quite yet,
- 6:08Speaker 2: so that's probably part of it. But you are going
- 6:10Speaker 2: to get another Miami Vice movie. But the good news
- 6:12Speaker 2: is that you've got Joseph Kaczinski is going to direct it.
- 6:16Speaker 2: He's the John Wick guy, so it might be interested,
- 6:21Speaker 2: might be interesting. And Nightmaker or night Crawler filmmaker Danny
- 6:25Speaker 2: Gilroy is penning the script from an earlier draft by
- 6:29Speaker 2: Top Gun Maverick scribe Eric Warren Singer. All right, so
- 6:33Speaker 2: you are getting a Miami Vice thing and finally this.
- 6:37Speaker 2: John Lithgow was surprised by the backlash over joining the
- 6:42Speaker 2: Harry Potter series.
- 6:44Speaker 4: My guess is.
- 6:44Speaker 5: John doesn't spend a lot of time on social media.
- 6:47Speaker 1: I don't think he knew, because I really think.
- 6:49Speaker 2: He genuinely was not aware of Here's what he said.
- 6:54Speaker 2: He received a text from a friend who had sent
- 6:56Speaker 2: him a link to an article titled an open Letter
- 6:58Speaker 2: to John Lithgow, please walk away from Harry Potter. Before
- 7:03Speaker 2: he had signed on for the role, he received another
- 7:06Speaker 2: text from another very good friend who is the mother
- 7:08Speaker 2: of a trans child, and said, please don't do Harry Potter.
- 7:13Speaker 1: This is because JK Rowlings.
- 7:17Speaker 2: Reason is so vehement. Ask if he expected the criticism,
- 7:22Speaker 2: Lithga replied, no, absolutely not. Of course, it was a
- 7:26Speaker 2: big decision because it's probably the last major role I'll
- 7:28Speaker 2: ever play. It's an eight star commitment. So I was
- 7:31Speaker 2: just thinking about mortality and that was very good winding
- 7:34Speaker 2: down role. I mean, no one was upset when I
- 7:38Speaker 2: played role Doll. That's how out of touch the poor
- 7:42Speaker 2: guy is. So yeah, he couldn't figure out why people
- 7:46Speaker 2: might be upset.
- 7:47Speaker 1: Well, and he played a trans person himself in world.
- 7:50Speaker 1: According to that, that's the thing.
- 7:51Speaker 2: I don't think JK knows that, otherwise she may not
- 7:53Speaker 2: have let him be Dumbledore in this new thing. All right,
- 7:57Speaker 2: there you go. It's Irish, not Scott.
- 8:01Speaker 1: That's what you're saying about.
- 8:03Speaker 4: Colin Farrell's Yeah, it's an interesting observation in the text.
- 8:07Speaker 4: If Disney owns Rocky Horror, that may mean Frank Conforter
- 8:11Speaker 4: is a Disney Princess. Yes, I think it might.
- 8:14Speaker 2: I think you need to ask. Frank, I'm not going
- 8:16Speaker 2: to even guess
