Auckland University expands rural medical programme
Fifth-year medical students are placed in rural areas for a year, working in hospitals and alongside GPs general practitioners. Taupo will become the programme's fifth long placement site, joining Hawera, Hauraki/Thames, Te Kuiti and Wellsford. The academic lead for the programme, Dr Hannah Lawn spoke to Ingrid Hipkiss.
