- 0:18Speaker 1: Baton Rouge Studio.
- 0:19Speaker 3: It's off the.
- 0:20Speaker 4: Bench, all right, welcome back in our number three of
- 0:44Speaker 4: O t B. And it is Tuesday. It is nine am.
- 0:49Speaker 4: So you know what that means. We're gonna catch up
- 0:52Speaker 4: with our guy Nick Underhill, New Orleans Dot Football.
- 0:56Speaker 2: Nicholas. How are we doing, sir, gentlemen?
- 0:59Speaker 5: How you doing? I'm doing good.
- 1:00Speaker 4: I guess I should have asked is it Nicholas, because
- 1:02Speaker 4: my dad he's just Joey, not Joseph. His dad was
- 1:05Speaker 4: Tommy Joe, not Thomas Joseph. His brother was Sammy and
- 1:09Speaker 4: not Samuel. So I guess I just assume. But is
- 1:11Speaker 4: it Nicholas?
- 1:13Speaker 3: It is?
- 1:13Speaker 5: Yeah? No, No, nothing weird there. Yeah, Nicholas works.
- 1:16Speaker 4: Yeah, you hear that dad Nick Underhill called you weird.
- 1:23Speaker 4: Oh hey, I found out some information yesterday. I'm actually
- 1:27Speaker 4: for serious X. I'm gonna be hosting the Saints training
- 1:30Speaker 4: camp practice on July the thirtieth, and so you and
- 1:34Speaker 4: I can have all the sweat their training camp in
- 1:38Speaker 4: Metai together.
- 1:40Speaker 5: All right, Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, I'm looking forward to that.
- 1:42Speaker 6: Man.
- 1:42Speaker 5: Yeah, it's like thank god Calvin moved the practices up
- 1:46Speaker 5: to like nine and nine thirty in the morning because
- 1:47Speaker 5: Mini camp at OTA's where like noon and like that's
- 1:51Speaker 5: just some like northern er you know, western stuff. Like
- 1:55Speaker 5: you get down here, it's way too hot for that
- 1:56Speaker 5: time of day. But it's still gonna be brutal and
- 1:58Speaker 5: we'll still be sweating, but you know, just a little
- 2:00Speaker 5: bit less.
- 2:01Speaker 2: Yeah. Look in serious XM.
- 2:02Speaker 4: If you want to send me out to the Irvine
- 2:05Speaker 4: practices as well starting August to sixth, we can make
- 2:07Speaker 4: that happen. So just putting that out there. But I mean,
- 2:11Speaker 4: training camp is truly right around the corner. I mean
- 2:14Speaker 4: we are what two weeks away, really less than two
- 2:17Speaker 4: weeks away outside of the quarterback physician battle. The first
- 2:21Speaker 4: thing when you get out the notepad and you flip
- 2:23Speaker 4: it open, what is the like first note you want
- 2:27Speaker 4: to take because you've been waiting to see it.
- 2:30Speaker 5: Well, I mean the first one I want to take
- 2:32Speaker 5: is definitely I want to see Trevor Penning guard. We
- 2:34Speaker 5: aren't going to see that the first couple of days
- 2:35Speaker 5: because they aren't like really padded practices. But that is
- 2:38Speaker 5: kind of the other the headline thing to me. And
- 2:40Speaker 5: then you know, Covin Banks two, we haven't actually seen
- 2:42Speaker 5: him block somebody, and I think that's kind of the
- 2:44Speaker 5: future of the team. The investments all on the line.
- 2:48Speaker 5: PFF did their like offensive line rankings yesterday. They had
- 2:51Speaker 5: the Saints twenty at that. I think that's that's maybe
- 2:53Speaker 5: short changing them a little bit, but if they cash
- 2:56Speaker 5: in on their potential, it should be a really a
- 2:58Speaker 5: really good group. So that's at the top list. And
- 3:00Speaker 5: then my second bollet point, it's just what's happening at
- 3:04Speaker 5: corner because I think that's imperative too, just in terms
- 3:06Speaker 5: of the team building going forward. If Kool as good,
- 3:11Speaker 5: if Alante is you know, Alante is a fascinating story
- 3:15Speaker 5: right now because I think he has like a similating
- 3:18Speaker 5: skill set, but it hasn't quite materialized in the type
- 3:22Speaker 5: of production consistently that you want. And I think that's
- 3:25Speaker 5: a little bit beyond his control, just and that they've
- 3:28Speaker 5: moved him around so much. But he's in a contract here,
- 3:31Speaker 5: and you know, if he doesn't get like the you know,
- 3:34Speaker 5: Pete Werner week three of training camp deal and he
- 3:38Speaker 5: bets on himself this year and he gets through that.
- 3:41Speaker 5: He's someone that I could see having like a great
- 3:44Speaker 5: season in just cashing out and going somewhere else. And
- 3:48Speaker 5: you know, it's also one of those things where if
- 3:50Speaker 5: you pay him, it's a little bit of a gamble
- 3:51Speaker 5: right now too, So you know that that's a huge
- 3:54Speaker 5: story to me going into camp. Him and Raschichiat, I
- 3:57Speaker 5: think are both kind of candidates to get try to
- 4:00Speaker 5: get paid now. And honestly, if I was the agent
- 4:03Speaker 5: of either player, I tell him to go through the season,
- 4:05Speaker 5: Like I don't think you know, she he could get hurt,
- 4:07Speaker 5: and I think he still gets paid whatever he's worth
- 4:09Speaker 5: today right now. But if he goes through a season
- 4:13Speaker 5: and he's healthy and he plays all seventeen games, and
- 4:16Speaker 5: he also just switched ages to Drew Rosenow, so we
- 4:19Speaker 5: kind of know probably what he's thinking. You go through
- 4:23Speaker 5: it and you have a good season, like you're getting megabucks.
- 4:25Speaker 5: But like, I think those are kind of the real
- 4:27Speaker 5: big things going into the training camp right now.
- 4:30Speaker 3: Yeah, and you said it like OTA's and mini camp
- 4:34Speaker 3: are one thing you get to see a little bit.
- 4:36Speaker 3: You get to diagnose a little bit. There's some notes
- 4:38Speaker 3: you can write down, but training camp, once you get
- 4:40Speaker 3: the pads on to start hitting and getting physical, that's
- 4:43Speaker 3: when you can really see how players are going to react,
- 4:45Speaker 3: how what players could potentially be, what the team could
- 4:48Speaker 3: potentially be like, and kind of to that, especially when
- 4:52Speaker 3: you get to see somebody else with some pads on.
- 4:55Speaker 3: Do you know if the Saints have any plans or
- 5:00Speaker 3: they've already scheduled some joint practices with any other teams?
- 5:03Speaker 5: Zero they aren't doing any of this year, which which
- 5:05Speaker 5: is a little bit of a surprise to me. I
- 5:07Speaker 5: thought for sure they'd do something with the Chargers out
- 5:10Speaker 5: there or somebody else, Like there's a ton of teams
- 5:12Speaker 5: out there in California, and they did not set anything up, which,
- 5:17Speaker 5: you know, I think that's kind of disappointing. It's usually
- 5:20Speaker 5: the best work to me, Like you get to go
- 5:22Speaker 5: through and say, hey, look we're gonna run forty red
- 5:24Speaker 5: zone plays and have that perfected by the end of
- 5:27Speaker 5: Thursday's practice, and then on you know, Friday, we're gonna
- 5:29Speaker 5: work these situations. It's usually better work than the games.
- 5:33Speaker 5: I always feel like it's more informative than those preseason games.
- 5:36Speaker 5: I was a little bit surprised to see that one
- 5:38Speaker 5: play out like that. I can't remember the last time
- 5:41Speaker 5: the Saints went through a camp without joint practices. I
- 5:44Speaker 5: don't know if that's a kinple of more athos or
- 5:47Speaker 5: if it's just like a matter of like, hey, like
- 5:49Speaker 5: I need to, you know, build my program and focus
- 5:51Speaker 5: on what we're doing this year and then kind of
- 5:53Speaker 5: look somewhere else. But I was surprised by that.
- 5:56Speaker 3: And we always get like the best like training camp
- 5:58Speaker 3: fights in those too. So now, oh yeah, so Mike
- 6:02Speaker 3: had what is the best training camp fight you've ever seen?
- 6:06Speaker 3: Who does it? Was there a memorable one that stuck out?
- 6:08Speaker 3: Like these two monsters were just going at it?
- 6:11Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean easily easily it was one guy is
- 6:14Speaker 5: because he was fighting every single day that the first
- 6:17Speaker 5: year tryvor Penning was here. It was it was insane.
- 6:19Speaker 5: It was like it was like they what a training
- 6:22Speaker 5: camp and he's he's just like he's throwing punches at people.
- 6:25Speaker 5: It was wild and it just kept happening like day
- 6:27Speaker 5: after day after day, Like Sean Payton had to tell
- 6:31Speaker 5: him to chill out, like it was it was a
- 6:33Speaker 5: lot like he was definitely the guy that that that
- 6:36Speaker 5: comes to mind. Uh you know early on those you know,
- 6:39Speaker 5: I like a lot of the uh you know, the
- 6:41Speaker 5: the receiver cornerback battles like those usually build up over
- 6:45Speaker 5: time where it's like a lot of talking and then
- 6:47Speaker 5: like it pops off. But like like Penning was like
- 6:49Speaker 5: a like a nineties heavyweight fight, like just going after
- 6:53Speaker 5: people and you know when the big big guys go
- 6:55Speaker 5: at it, like it there's a little more, there's a
- 6:57Speaker 5: little more to it. So uh was definitely I mean
- 7:03Speaker 5: he can throw, yeah, like no doubt about it. Yeah, No,
- 7:05Speaker 5: he's not somebody. He's not somebody you want coming at you.
- 7:08Speaker 5: And like I don't think he's afraid to throw like
- 7:11Speaker 5: a you know, a fist of a helmet if he
- 7:13Speaker 5: needs to either, which isn't always smart, but like he's
- 7:16Speaker 5: really about it, you know, like some guys like they
- 7:18Speaker 5: get in those situations and like the arms are like
- 7:21Speaker 5: you know the wind mill punches like Unting kind of
- 7:24Speaker 5: looked like he had scrapped before.
- 7:26Speaker 4: Hey well, I mean, honestly, I'm going to turn this
- 7:29Speaker 4: conversation into a football question. Like him moving to guard,
- 7:34Speaker 4: having that mentality where he can be a little bit
- 7:36Speaker 4: more reckless because you're protected on both sides. Like that,
- 7:40Speaker 4: to me, if he's ever going to be a successful,
- 7:44Speaker 4: dependable NFL player, it is going to be at the
- 7:47Speaker 4: guard position. And I'm not saying that it's easy, but
- 7:50Speaker 4: I think what he does and his mentality that just
- 7:52Speaker 4: fits him better because now he can be more aggressive.
- 7:56Speaker 4: Now he can maybe take more chances. Now he doesn't
- 7:58Speaker 4: have to be perfect. Now it's not all about the technique.
- 8:01Speaker 4: And you're on an island by yourself, and so if
- 8:05Speaker 4: we're going to get any kind of good version of
- 8:07Speaker 4: Trevor Pinning, it feels like it's going to be inside.
- 8:11Speaker 5: You just kind of swunk me a little bit, Like
- 8:12Speaker 5: just with that transition, I didn't know where it was going,
- 8:15Speaker 5: but it made a lot of sense to me, Like
- 8:19Speaker 5: I'm the biggest Penning dowterer, Like you know, I I
- 8:22Speaker 5: gotta see it, But I don't disagree with you, like
- 8:24Speaker 5: this is think or swim like this this is the
- 8:27Speaker 5: last stop on the bus to bus spills, Like he
- 8:30Speaker 5: has to make this work because I don't think you're
- 8:32Speaker 5: going back to the outside, Like it's if you have
- 8:35Speaker 5: a chance to cash it on any potential of that
- 8:37Speaker 5: stap in here. And I do love the idea of
- 8:40Speaker 5: him at guard in the run game. You know, I
- 8:43Speaker 5: think he can get out there. I think he can
- 8:44Speaker 5: pull like this. This is a you know, a three
- 8:47Speaker 5: hundred and thirty pounds, three hundred and fifty pound behemoth
- 8:49Speaker 5: that can like legitimately run and you know that stands
- 8:53Speaker 5: out and I think, you know, polling and doing stuff
- 8:55Speaker 5: there like that, that's gonna that's gonna play to it.
- 8:59Speaker 5: It's this eat of which things happen that that kind
- 9:02Speaker 5: of worries me a little bit. But you know, on
- 9:04Speaker 5: the flip side, I think I would rather try to
- 9:06Speaker 5: have him dealing with that as opposed to being out
- 9:09Speaker 5: on the island. And you know, if you do lose,
- 9:12Speaker 5: like there's no bumpers, at least he's got some bumpers. Now,
- 9:15Speaker 5: you know that isn't gonna protect him every time. But yeah,
- 9:19Speaker 5: I mean theoretically like possibly, Uh, I've never liked it
- 9:24Speaker 5: for him, you know, Matt, you probably speak to this
- 9:26Speaker 5: better than me, like, like, does it does it help
- 9:29Speaker 5: having a taller quarterback in there with like a six
- 9:31Speaker 5: foot seven guy a guard like Shuck being prototype like
- 9:34Speaker 5: does that maybe lend a like a possible foot better
- 9:37Speaker 5: than the six foot tall rattler or you know, ja
- 9:40Speaker 5: kyner back there.
- 9:41Speaker 3: I mean, I think the like the quarterback hype disparancy
- 9:46Speaker 3: probably is overvalued a little bit, a little bit, I
- 9:50Speaker 3: mean Drew Brees. And there's been short quarterbacks that have
- 9:52Speaker 3: shorter quarterbacks I'm not gonna say short, but shorter quarterbacks
- 9:55Speaker 3: that have like dispelled any of those type of rooms
- 9:57Speaker 3: that used to be. Everyone's gotta be six five so
- 9:58Speaker 3: you can see over the line, but with bocking schemes
- 10:02Speaker 3: like these days and splits and things like that, you
- 10:04Speaker 3: can kind of overshadow those things. And quarterbacks work on
- 10:06Speaker 3: this stuff, so yes, there is something to it. But
- 10:10Speaker 3: even me at six two and a half or like
- 10:13Speaker 3: a lot of quarterbacks there, guy, all right, but.
- 10:16Speaker 2: We're not middle school anymore.
- 10:17Speaker 3: Give me it's really a quarter But like I bump
- 10:21Speaker 3: it up to a half a right, uh, to twenty eight.
- 10:26Speaker 3: Even at that, it's like you're still not seeing over
- 10:28Speaker 3: six six guys. So whether I'm six two or five ten,
- 10:31Speaker 3: you're still not seeing over somebody that's you know, three
- 10:33Speaker 3: four five inches taller than you.
- 10:35Speaker 5: So I mean six two and a half is technically
- 10:38Speaker 5: six to three.
- 10:38Speaker 3: You knows you round up?
- 10:40Speaker 2: Yeah, absolutely do six two and a half. I can't
- 10:43Speaker 2: believe you threw that in there.
- 10:45Speaker 3: Well, why you're all in what five?
- 10:49Speaker 4: And I was five eleven at the combine? And I
- 10:51Speaker 4: tell people in five ten because I don't think I'm
- 10:53Speaker 4: five eleven anymore. I go down, we're you five ten
- 10:56Speaker 4: and a half.
- 10:56Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 10:57Speaker 4: Maybe I don't tell people five ten and a half
- 10:59Speaker 4: if six two and a half.
- 11:01Speaker 5: Sorry, sorry, go ahead, No, I mean that makes sense.
- 11:06Speaker 5: I mean yeah, I just I didn't know because like
- 11:07Speaker 5: NBIA six times and that's always been something that kind
- 11:09Speaker 5: of you know, but yeah, you're you're right, like youre
- 11:11Speaker 5: always look through those those lanes and everything like that. So, uh,
- 11:14Speaker 5: that makes sense.
- 11:17Speaker 3: On this team? Like, is there anybody who on this
- 11:21Speaker 3: team is from a business side of things? Is up
- 11:24Speaker 3: for potentially big contract, big contract extension? Like if you
- 11:29Speaker 3: look through the roster, like, who are those guys if
- 11:31Speaker 3: there's you know, one of them, if there's five of them,
- 11:33Speaker 3: six and whatever it is, who are those guys you're
- 11:34Speaker 3: looking at that the Saints need to lock this, lock
- 11:37Speaker 3: them up, get them an extension, pay big Bucks.
- 11:39Speaker 5: For Yeah, it's it's kind of interesting because, like I
- 11:43Speaker 5: think their free agents next year kind of bring them.
- 11:45Speaker 7: Right up to like where the mentality is of the
- 11:49Speaker 7: team building, Like the expiring contract to like Tason Mill
- 11:52Speaker 7: to Mario, Davis, uh Foster, Cam Jordan, Tyron, Matthew Alante,
- 11:57Speaker 7: Taylor and Penning or kind of the headliners. Colin Saunders
- 12:01Speaker 7: I think is on there too, but like it there's
- 12:04Speaker 7: kind of like a split there, and it just kind
- 12:06Speaker 7: of really depends on what direction they're going with the
- 12:09Speaker 7: team and if you really are leaning into the rebuild
- 12:13Speaker 7: and trying to get younger and better and all this stuff,
- 12:15Speaker 7: like does it make sense to bring back Tays them
- 12:18Speaker 7: and to Mario and Cam and Tyron And you know,
- 12:21Speaker 7: it's just kind of you know, I think there's probably
- 12:23Speaker 7: a cost preposition on some of that stuff. Like you're
- 12:26Speaker 7: probably very willing to pay for the leadership of guys
- 12:29Speaker 7: like Tyron and Cam in the Mario, but like the
- 12:32Speaker 7: significant investment is a tough sell and I don't think
- 12:36Speaker 7: Tyron or Kim would would you know, would need it
- 12:38Speaker 7: at this point in their career. They don't right now.
- 12:40Speaker 7: But like a guy like to Mario if I'm to
- 12:43Speaker 7: Mario like I'm probably trying to get out of here,
- 12:46Speaker 7: I don't know, like.
- 12:47Speaker 5: I could probably go get paid and actually helped like
- 12:49Speaker 5: a team that's trying to win a super Bowl. I
- 12:51Speaker 5: feel like he's still at that point in his career.
- 12:53Speaker 5: And if you're you're the Saints, like are you paying
- 12:56Speaker 5: someone to stick around? Like, you know, I think you
- 12:58Speaker 5: kind of got to see what happens this year. But
- 13:02Speaker 5: you know, I lean more into the you know, like
- 13:04Speaker 5: why are you paying guys that aren't going to be
- 13:06Speaker 5: part of this, you know, two three years from now,
- 13:08Speaker 5: like significant money, you know, one year deals to Cam
- 13:12Speaker 5: and Tyron kind of the way they did it would
- 13:13Speaker 5: still makes some sense to me, you know, at a
- 13:15Speaker 5: very low cost. But the guys I'm trying to pay
- 13:18Speaker 5: or Lantain cheat and I probably got s shea heat
- 13:20Speaker 5: at the top of that list. Like, I feel way
- 13:21Speaker 5: more comfortable paying him than anyone else. And if you're
- 13:24Speaker 5: going at it with like a you know, a younger quarterback,
- 13:28Speaker 5: you know, I'm willing to make that bet right now
- 13:31Speaker 5: on him to kind of you know, save a little bit.
- 13:33Speaker 5: You know, I do think there's some risk there. I
- 13:35Speaker 5: don't think he's the most polisheder outrunner. Yet that's something
- 13:38Speaker 5: that's kind of been an ongoing process. And you know,
- 13:41Speaker 5: the injuries last year I think set him back. You know,
- 13:43Speaker 5: he was kind of showing good improvement under Keith Williams
- 13:46Speaker 5: and and you know he got hurt. Maybe you know,
- 13:49Speaker 5: if that keeps developing and he keeps being this like,
- 13:51Speaker 5: you know, big play guy, Like I think he could
- 13:54Speaker 5: like really really break the market if he hits it
- 13:57Speaker 5: and stays healthy. But those are the guys like that.
- 13:59Speaker 5: It's it's a fascinating time right now. And you know,
- 14:03Speaker 5: the team building philosophy. I think it's kind of just
- 14:05Speaker 5: that it is with the mentality of the franchise too.
- 14:08Speaker 5: Like they're very, very loyal to their guys and like
- 14:12Speaker 5: they're the type of team that wants to keep like
- 14:14Speaker 5: a The Mario around forever. But like you know, there
- 14:17Speaker 5: are legitimate questions. And it's not like I think he's
- 14:20Speaker 5: a great player. I think the Mario's probably a guy
- 14:23Speaker 5: that should be like scratching the Hall of Fame with
- 14:26Speaker 5: his resume. Like I just don't know if he got
- 14:28Speaker 5: like the All Pros and Pro Bowls to kind of
- 14:29Speaker 5: put it together. But he should have. Like, I think
- 14:31Speaker 5: he's that type of talent. I think he's still a
- 14:33Speaker 5: really really good player, but like doesn't make sense going forward.
- 14:37Speaker 5: It's a fascinating time right now.
- 14:40Speaker 3: All right, Nick, we're going to finish this off. We'll
- 14:43Speaker 3: give you a little rapid fire. See where Nick Underhill
- 14:47Speaker 3: New Orleans, not football, New Orleans, not football. See where
- 14:49Speaker 3: his mindset is going into the season on some specific
- 14:53Speaker 3: people and their targets and their stats for the seasons.
- 14:56Speaker 3: Are you ready for a little rapid fire, Yeah, let's
- 14:58Speaker 3: do it, all right. Alvin Kamara rushing yards over under
- 15:01Speaker 3: nine hundred and fifty yards.
- 15:04Speaker 5: I'm taking the under on that for sure.
- 15:06Speaker 2: For sure, I don't have that.
- 15:09Speaker 5: It's never hit a thousand, you know. I think there's
- 15:11Speaker 5: I think there's better depth at that position, and I
- 15:15Speaker 5: don't want to see him getting two hundred and twenty carries.
- 15:19Speaker 3: Very good, So let's go to his total yard all
- 15:21Speaker 3: purpose yards at fifteen hundred.
- 15:26Speaker 5: Oh that's tough. That's a good line, man. I'm gonna
- 15:28Speaker 5: take a I'm gonna take a slight under, just like
- 15:31Speaker 5: a barely barely under it. If you had said it
- 15:35Speaker 5: at like fourteen to fifty, I would you would have
- 15:37Speaker 5: talked me into the over.
- 15:38Speaker 3: So I think he was like fourteen, like forty seven
- 15:40Speaker 3: last year. So I being that we finally have like
- 15:43Speaker 3: an offensive minded coach, I kind of bumped up everybody's
- 15:46Speaker 3: kind of averages a little bit, just to give you
- 15:48Speaker 3: a little heads up there. I think he was close
- 15:50Speaker 3: to the nine hundred rushing last year. I think. So anyways,
- 15:53Speaker 3: all right, let's move on Rashid Shaheed over under nine
- 15:56Speaker 3: hundred yards receiving.
- 15:58Speaker 5: I'm gonna take the under. I mean, like the total
- 16:00Speaker 5: passing yards I think is probably what was Caleb at
- 16:03Speaker 5: last year. Kill was like thirty four hundred or something
- 16:05Speaker 5: like that, thirty six, Like, yeah, I think you're under
- 16:07Speaker 5: four thousand. So like I would, I'm gonna probably like
- 16:11Speaker 5: cut off your next one. But like I would, I'm
- 16:13Speaker 5: probably gonna take the unner on both a like Rashid
- 16:16Speaker 5: and the Lave just because I don't know that the
- 16:18Speaker 5: volume is going to be there.
- 16:20Speaker 3: It's interesting because we were looking at the stats with
- 16:23Speaker 3: both of them had injuries last year, but they had
- 16:25Speaker 3: big numbers in the games that they did play, Like
- 16:27Speaker 3: Alave had seven hundred and something playing and what six
- 16:30Speaker 3: like less than half eight games something like that. So yeah,
- 16:34Speaker 3: I guess that'll bring me to the next one. I
- 16:36Speaker 3: put Chris Alave based on the numbers he was showing.
- 16:39Speaker 3: I even kind of like went down on his average
- 16:41Speaker 3: per game at twelve hundred yards over under.
- 16:45Speaker 5: I think he's gonna have like a season that it
- 16:46Speaker 5: was like a twelve hundred yards season on film, Like
- 16:49Speaker 5: you're gonna be blown away by some of the stuff
- 16:50Speaker 5: he does. But like I don't. I don't know that
- 16:53Speaker 5: anyone's getting that high. Like shuck would have to be
- 16:56Speaker 5: shuck or rattler, but no QB controversy here, like like
- 16:59Speaker 5: one was gonna have to be really really good to
- 17:01Speaker 5: get to that, to get to that point.
- 17:03Speaker 3: Okay, let's go with the mister, Brandon Cooks. I'm gump
- 17:07Speaker 3: since you based on your aswers, I'm going down a
- 17:09Speaker 3: little bit. Receiving yards over under three hundred and fifty yards.
- 17:13Speaker 5: I'll take the over. Yeah, I think I'll take the over.
- 17:17Speaker 5: He gets it.
- 17:20Speaker 3: What was that We're gonna see some bow and arrows
- 17:21Speaker 3: this year?
- 17:24Speaker 5: I think a few. And look, I like the way
- 17:26Speaker 5: he's carrying himself to Sox season. He just set up
- 17:28Speaker 5: a throwing session at Nike Headquarters, and Beaverton got like
- 17:32Speaker 5: the whole team out there. You know, I think he's
- 17:35Speaker 5: building comfort. He worked out with Rattler wasn't there because
- 17:39Speaker 5: he was doing his his youth camp in South Carolina,
- 17:41Speaker 5: but he made a trip down the Arizona to work
- 17:43Speaker 5: with him. Like, I think he's really doing a lot
- 17:45Speaker 5: to like ingratiate himself, and I think like the chemistry
- 17:48Speaker 5: with the quarterbacks. I'll take the over on three.
- 17:50Speaker 3: Fifty Okay, last three here, rapid fire or rapid fire
- 17:54Speaker 3: total TD pass over under thirty three. I'll go under
- 18:00Speaker 3: total sacks defensive this are only defensive one here defense
- 18:04Speaker 3: snkes total sacks over under thirty nine.
- 18:08Speaker 5: Oh man, I don't. I don't like the D line.
- 18:14Speaker 5: I'm going under.
- 18:15Speaker 3: Okay, that's very average of the pack. Yeah, it's very
- 18:19Speaker 3: total wins here we go over under five and a half.
- 18:25Speaker 5: Yeah, I've been saying five, So I'm under.
- 18:29Speaker 3: You hate the Saints, all right, me and Hester is
- 18:35Speaker 3: trying so hard to be fans. You're really making it tough.
- 18:39Speaker 1: Nick.
- 18:40Speaker 5: I think it's gonna be a fun five though, like.
- 18:43Speaker 3: All fun that he went under on everybody.
- 18:48Speaker 2: Fun five over on Brandon.
- 18:50Speaker 3: Cooks Brandon Cook. Lets go.
- 18:53Speaker 5: Yeah, maybe you know a little babe with a better
- 18:56Speaker 5: attitude next week.
- 18:59Speaker 4: We all so, Nick, he knows the Saints as well
- 19:02Speaker 4: as anybody. I'll leave that there, Nick Underhill. New Orleans
- 19:05Speaker 4: dot Football is the website. If you want to try
- 19:08Speaker 4: to know the Saints as well as Nick and the team,
- 19:10Speaker 4: do over at New Orleans Stuff Football.
- 19:11Speaker 2: Sign up for the site today. Nick.
- 19:14Speaker 4: We appreciate it as always, and I look forward to
- 19:17Speaker 4: seeing you down in training camp here in a couple
- 19:19Speaker 4: of weeks.
- 19:20Speaker 3: Yeah. TV's guys, I feel great about it.
- 19:27Speaker 2: Yeah, no, good, No, good for me?
- 19:30Speaker 3: Right great? Yeah? Oh, it's everything's fine, guys, everything's Saints fans,
- 19:34Speaker 3: it's fine.
- 19:35Speaker 2: It is crazy that Alvin Kamara doesn't have a thousand
- 19:37Speaker 2: yard season.
- 19:38Speaker 3: It is wild.
- 19:39Speaker 4: But he's had like he's had some crazy like eight
- 19:41Speaker 4: to fifty rushing, seven to fifty receiving.
- 19:43Speaker 3: Yeah, I think he had eight, like sixty one year receiving.
- 19:46Speaker 3: But he's always averaging around like thirteen to fifteen purpose yards.
- 19:52Speaker 8: Outside of last year, he's always kind of had a
- 19:55Speaker 8: split backfield, like it was Ingram, it was Latavius Murray.
- 20:00Speaker 8: Like last year was kind of the only year where
- 20:03Speaker 8: he was like the everydawn guy.
- 20:05Speaker 3: Right here, I got it looked up here.
- 20:08Speaker 2: Let's see, I'm trying to look at some guys that
- 20:13Speaker 2: like I play with.
- 20:14Speaker 4: I'm trying to think if if they had one thousand yards.
- 20:18Speaker 3: In twenty seventeen, he had eight hundred and twenty six
- 20:20Speaker 3: yards receiving. So since let's say seventeen, I'm sorry, seventeen,
- 20:25Speaker 3: he had fifteen hundred and fifty four all purpose eighteen
- 20:27Speaker 3: fifty ninety two, nineteen, thirteen thirty twenty sixteen eighty eight,
- 20:31Speaker 3: twenty twenty one, thirteen thirty seven. Last year he had
- 20:34Speaker 3: fourteen hundred and ninety three all purpose yards.
- 20:36Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean, he's been a hell of a player.
- 20:38Speaker 4: So like when I say that, it's surprising because he has.
- 20:41Speaker 3: Been so last year nine hundred and fifty rushing yards
- 20:45Speaker 3: when I set the over under at nine fifteen fifty
- 20:48Speaker 3: and he went he went under. Well, it's just surprising.
- 20:50Speaker 4: Because he did say what he thinks he has a
- 20:52Speaker 4: better compliment of backs with him.
- 20:54Speaker 3: Sure, and yeah, I get that too, but this is
- 20:58Speaker 3: the first time in a while that we've had all
- 21:00Speaker 3: offensive minded coach like this like we have had. Yeah,
- 21:04Speaker 3: so since the Sean Payton era. This is the first
- 21:06Speaker 3: time like a coach that is focused on offense. They're
- 21:09Speaker 3: bringing that, so it's is exciting. I would expect all
- 21:12Speaker 3: the numbers from these people to go up, even with
- 21:15Speaker 3: young quarterbacks quarterback battles. I think they will get put
- 21:18Speaker 3: in the right position. I think you'll have some individual
- 21:21Speaker 3: stats that are going to pop off a little bit
- 21:24Speaker 3: and be better than what people think. All right, we'll
- 21:28Speaker 3: take a break.
- 21:28Speaker 4: Look it's okay Nick, you know rapid fire and Nick underhill.
- 21:31Speaker 4: Sometimes that doesn't work out, but great answers as always
- 21:34Speaker 4: from Nick more OTB. When we come back here one
- 21:37Speaker 4: O four five ESPN Ben.

- 23:20Speaker 3: From this behave.
- 23:23Speaker 2: It's just a.
- 23:25Speaker 7: Way.
- 23:34Speaker 3: How'd you break you over there?
- 23:38Speaker 4: Good Sunday King Caleb Williams not too bad.
- 23:44Speaker 3: Break and so how do you think Caleb is gonna
- 23:47Speaker 3: do the ship?
- 23:48Speaker 2: I don't care because I'm gonna get rid of all
- 23:50Speaker 2: those cars before. Try while I was hot.
- 23:55Speaker 4: Like if I was going to hold onto one of
- 23:57Speaker 4: the quarterbacks from last year, I would go, can you
- 24:01Speaker 4: turn the tour?
- 24:02Speaker 3: Down they were racing for King of the Mountain points.
- 24:05Speaker 2: Like, certainly Jayden.
- 24:08Speaker 3: There's one quarterback I'm definitely hanging on to right now,
- 24:11Speaker 3: Jayden or Spencer Rally. Well, I'm hanging on with Spencer.
- 24:14Speaker 3: Well Jayden, Yeah, No, Jayden like he's hot Joe Milton.
- 24:18Speaker 3: So for him to get hotter, he's gonna have to
- 24:20Speaker 3: have like Patrick Mahomes like type.
- 24:22Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 24:23Speaker 4: Arc So it's right now in the card game, and
- 24:26Speaker 4: correct me if I'm wrong. You know it as well
- 24:28Speaker 4: as I do, even better. It is kind of like
- 24:31Speaker 4: Caleb still holds a lot of weight, but it is
- 24:34Speaker 4: Jayden right underneath that Caleb, and then you have writerneath
- 24:38Speaker 4: that bow Nicks.
- 24:39Speaker 8: Yeah, bow Knicks's that's the wonderful was your love? I Mean,
- 24:42Speaker 8: I don't know as much about cards, but like, the
- 24:44Speaker 8: dude's got weapons this year. You didn't have any last year.
- 24:47Speaker 8: So my thing is, I think Caleb is gonna have
- 24:49Speaker 8: a pretty good year.
- 24:50Speaker 3: Is he gonna throw for four thousand?
- 24:51Speaker 2: Who you're holding on to?
- 24:53Speaker 3: No, I'm not. I don't have as many him. I'm
- 24:54Speaker 3: holding on to Pinnix okay, because he's like of the
- 24:58Speaker 3: six rookie quarterbacks last year, ye, kind of at the
- 25:01Speaker 3: more bottom of that, I think is but I thought
- 25:04Speaker 3: even more than J. J.
- 25:05Speaker 2: McCarthy.
- 25:06Speaker 3: I even asked you before that draft, the twenty twenty
- 25:10Speaker 3: four draft, I said, who's your favorite quarterback outside of JD?
- 25:12Speaker 3: And you said Pennix. So I've always really been a
- 25:15Speaker 3: fan of Penis and I think just him getting the reins,
- 25:19Speaker 3: getting the full confidence of a staff, and you know,
- 25:21Speaker 3: he's got a pretty good team around, I think he's
- 25:22Speaker 3: going to be pretty good. I know that's not great
- 25:24Speaker 3: for Saints fans, but I would expect him to be
- 25:28Speaker 3: really good. But you do it. But you look at
- 25:30Speaker 3: Caleb Williams like a guy that they they drafted, another
- 25:35Speaker 3: receiver they brought in it like they have so much talent,
- 25:38Speaker 3: Like the Bears are set up better than they have
- 25:40Speaker 3: been for a long time, and like Kayleb, Williams didn't
- 25:44Speaker 3: just like get less talented over the last year. He
- 25:47Speaker 3: had flashes and certainly it's like but I think Bears
- 25:50Speaker 3: fans and NFL fans are kind of looking at this
- 25:52Speaker 3: as like year one for him. Now, Like ye, that
- 25:55Speaker 3: was a train wreck with their last age. It was
- 25:58Speaker 3: like you want to talk about like just like a
- 26:01Speaker 3: that has no shot at commanding the room, that guy.
- 26:05Speaker 3: But now they bring in an offensive specialist who's done,
- 26:07Speaker 3: like he turned Jared Goff's career completely around into MVP
- 26:11Speaker 3: candidate status. Yeah, and it turns the Lions, I mean
- 26:15Speaker 3: helped turn the lines around. Of course they can't. Let's
- 26:18Speaker 3: don't forget about the ULTI yeah, I'm just gonna say,
- 26:20Speaker 3: like from an offensive standpoint, but getting creative being like
- 26:24Speaker 3: we talked about earlier in the show, a combination of
- 26:27Speaker 3: shotgun and creativity under the center, and it helps so
- 26:32Speaker 3: much spread the ball around. I would expect Caleb Williams
- 26:36Speaker 3: to have a pretty breakout second year, that would be
- 26:39Speaker 3: my prediction. So yeah, I would maybe hold, but like,
- 26:41Speaker 3: you still got a lot of hype. So like in
- 26:43Speaker 3: the card game, you can sell the hype or you
- 26:46Speaker 3: can wait and really cash out if it like turns out.
- 26:50Speaker 3: But I think most people want to probably sell the hype.
- 26:54Speaker 3: Like right now, I'm hold on the Pinks because I
- 26:55Speaker 3: think like you, I think Pennix comes out and he
- 26:58Speaker 3: has a good stretch of the season where he's looking
- 27:01Speaker 3: really good, and then at that point, like yeah, so
- 27:03Speaker 3: then you push, you push, you push again. That's why
- 27:05Speaker 3: I do Spencer. I think spl Spencer has a good
- 27:07Speaker 3: shot at at least being the starter at the beginning
- 27:09Speaker 3: of the season. Yeah, I think Saints fans should hope
- 27:12Speaker 3: that Spencer Rattler is the starter of the entire season,
- 27:16Speaker 3: because at that point you either know, all right, I
- 27:18Speaker 3: got a franchise guy, or I got a guy that
- 27:20Speaker 3: started the entire season is really good. Now we have
- 27:23Speaker 3: good trade value potentially with him if you do think
- 27:25Speaker 3: Shuck is your next guy. And I always want a
- 27:28Speaker 3: rookie quarterback, Maybe not always, there's some there's some exceptions
- 27:32Speaker 3: to the rule Jade Daniels. Of course. The most recent
- 27:35Speaker 3: exception of that rule Bo Nixon exception. But like you,
- 27:38Speaker 3: for the most part, it's better for a quarterback to sit.
- 27:42Speaker 3: Of course, it'd be better if you was like sitting
- 27:43Speaker 3: behind it like a ten yured Veig.
- 27:45Speaker 4: May set up for a little bit last year. Pennicks
- 27:47Speaker 4: out for a little bit last year.
- 27:49Speaker 3: Absolutely. JJ McCarthy another one that I would expect, like
- 27:52Speaker 3: he's got a lot of pieces around him that are
- 27:54Speaker 3: really good. He's set up for success. So these guys
- 27:57Speaker 3: that you had six quarterbacks go in the first round
- 28:00Speaker 3: last year, and that means like a lot of them
- 28:04Speaker 3: went to pretty good teams. Yeah, so you got a
- 28:07Speaker 3: guy JJ McCarthy with the Vikings. Of course they're great,
- 28:09Speaker 3: they're a threat in the North. Falcons have good talent
- 28:12Speaker 3: around him. At least the Broncos showed some signs they
- 28:15Speaker 3: got pieces in place this year. So I mean, I
- 28:18Speaker 3: would explain that this is going to go down as
- 28:20Speaker 3: probably one of the better quarterback draft classes. And I
- 28:23Speaker 3: talked about last year, not this year.
- 28:26Speaker 4: So it is why So like you know, kind of
- 28:28Speaker 4: going back to the card game, it's like those six quarterbacks,
- 28:32Speaker 4: they didn't change like cards had come back, but they
- 28:34Speaker 4: like kind of changed a lot in the football card game,
- 28:37Speaker 4: right because people are always chasing those six teams. It's
- 28:40Speaker 4: like I want one of those six teams and sure
- 28:43Speaker 4: like you'll be okay, like if you get the Giants.
- 28:45Speaker 2: Or the Jags, like you get my leak, or if
- 28:47Speaker 2: you get.
- 28:47Speaker 4: The Cardinals you get Marvin Harrison, Jags, you get Chargers
- 28:51Speaker 4: with Lab mcconckey, Like it's like okay, like cool, pretty good,
- 28:54Speaker 4: But you're chasing those six quarterbacks and like in the
- 28:56Speaker 4: card game, like now it's like they hadn't even gotten
- 29:00Speaker 4: the cards out. Really they're just still still.
- 29:04Speaker 3: Buy the card packs now that have Jayde Daniels as
- 29:06Speaker 3: a rook So like that's that's the thing. Do you
- 29:08Speaker 3: hold Jayde value Jayden Daniels cards as like if you're
- 29:12Speaker 3: if you're in it for the business side of things,
- 29:14Speaker 3: because his value is so sky high right now, so
- 29:17Speaker 3: like he has to take the next, like big big
- 29:19Speaker 3: step for it to go even higher. That's why I like,
- 29:23Speaker 3: you see Patrick Mahomes are still valuable even if they're
- 29:25Speaker 3: not rookies, right.
- 29:28Speaker 8: Mad does Caleb throw for four thousand yards? Bears have
- 29:30Speaker 8: never had the first one.
- 29:32Speaker 3: I think Caleb Williams will throw for four thousand ards.
- 29:35Speaker 3: I'm not saying this season, but he will for this
- 29:38Speaker 3: He'll be the first one. I think. I think he's
- 29:40Speaker 3: going to surprise people. I don't know if it actually
- 29:43Speaker 3: I don't even know if it's going to be a surprise.
- 29:45Speaker 3: I think he's gonna I think he's gonna make believers
- 29:48Speaker 3: out of a lot of doubters because I think he's
- 29:50Speaker 3: still talented. I think Jayden Daniels of course, is going
- 29:52Speaker 3: to have the better career and is the better quarterback
- 29:54Speaker 3: and will be the better quarterback of those two if
- 29:56Speaker 3: we're trying to make comparisons, But Caleb Williams got Draft
- 30:00Speaker 3: one for a reason because he's talented. I don't think
- 30:02Speaker 3: he is a bad dude or a bad teammate. I
- 30:06Speaker 3: think he was in a position that organizationally lacked a
- 30:10Speaker 3: lot of leadership, and that happens with a lot of
- 30:12Speaker 3: different organizations. So hopefully they got a guy, and all
- 30:15Speaker 3: signs point to yes, that they do have a guy
- 30:18Speaker 3: that can command the room and run a team and
- 30:21Speaker 3: put the pieces in place to be successful, to take
- 30:23Speaker 3: advantage of the weapons that they do have.
- 30:26Speaker 4: You know why, I think, and I know we gotta
- 30:27Speaker 4: take a break, but you know why, I think Jayden
- 30:29Speaker 4: was way more successful in my opinion than Caleb. Jaden
- 30:33Speaker 4: is so comfortable in chaos, right, I think there's like,
- 30:37Speaker 4: obviously he's got traits that are like superhuman with his
- 30:39Speaker 4: speed and running ability and deep through all that. Sure,
- 30:43Speaker 4: but his ability to be in a chaotic situation and
- 30:46Speaker 4: look cool, calm and collected, where Caleb's like, oh I
- 30:48Speaker 4: gotta get out here, Oh I got to go make
- 30:50Speaker 4: the crazy you know, running to my right, throw back
- 30:53Speaker 4: across my body to the left, I'm panicking a little bit.
- 30:57Speaker 2: Jayden didn't have that, and that's what I think.
- 30:59Speaker 4: That's why he was so successful so early, is because
- 31:02Speaker 4: he allowed himself to play through the offense and not
- 31:04Speaker 4: try to do too much, just based off his.
- 31:06Speaker 3: Ability and that Jaden processes information so fast and a
- 31:10Speaker 3: lot of that has to do with this training and
- 31:11Speaker 3: that virtual reality that's become like popularized, and they've done
- 31:14Speaker 3: stories about it now with Jayden. But that is something
- 31:17Speaker 3: as a quarterback that you can learn with experience. I
- 31:21Speaker 3: know he played a lot in college. I'm talking about
- 31:24Speaker 3: Kayleb Williams, but when things turn chaotic, that is something
- 31:28Speaker 3: that you can improve as a quarter wall. We talked
- 31:30Speaker 3: about running backs earlier. It's kind of hard to teach
- 31:32Speaker 3: a running back how to read a block and instinctually
- 31:35Speaker 3: read stuff. As a quarterback, the game can slow down
- 31:38Speaker 3: for you if you're comfortable within the system and you've

- 33:19Speaker 1: U football like only champions can.
- 33:29Speaker 2: God time don't all right?
- 33:32Speaker 4: Welcome back again, O TV one four five ESPN, Ben Rouge.
- 33:35Speaker 4: I'll throw it now to our guy Tata for Little
- 33:38Speaker 4: l s U Football news.
- 33:41Speaker 8: Yeah, so yesterday it was announced that this was last night,
- 33:44Speaker 8: l s U is hiring Ole Miss coordinator of recruiting strategy.
- 33:48Speaker 8: Like I would just call it recruiting strategy coordinator, but
- 33:52Speaker 8: that is neither here nor there. He's going to be
- 33:54Speaker 8: l s U Football's assistant general manager under Austin Thomas.
- 33:58Speaker 3: A lot of ties to the program.
- 34:00Speaker 8: Austin Thomas actually got him hired when he was at
- 34:03Speaker 8: Old Miss. Now he's back under Austin Thomas. He's been
- 34:05Speaker 8: there since twenty twenty two. He's a Mississippi native like
- 34:09Speaker 8: he's He's got big ties to Oxford.
- 34:11Speaker 3: So this is a big time gift for LSU.
- 34:14Speaker 4: One thing they've been doing at Old Miss that they
- 34:17Speaker 4: haven't done in the past is hitting and recruiting in
- 34:21Speaker 4: high school and the portal. Certainly the portal, but I
- 34:24Speaker 4: mean they're not going to be a top five recruiting class.
- 34:28Speaker 2: Just not gonna happen.
- 34:28Speaker 4: But remember we used to do the show Flynn and
- 34:30Speaker 4: like we'll be talking to night like they thirty.
- 34:32Speaker 2: Fifth, thirty eighth and recruiting. Now they're starting to creep
- 34:35Speaker 2: their way up.
- 34:37Speaker 4: And this is somebody that has incredibly strong Mississippi ties
- 34:41Speaker 4: and you're able to get him from Ole miss to LSU.
- 34:44Speaker 4: Our guy, Dick Dixon aka Richard Dixon, he says he
- 34:48Speaker 4: actually knows him. They're from Ocean Springs and played high
- 34:53Speaker 4: school ball together.
- 34:54Speaker 2: How about that? And if he's good enough for Dick Dixon,
- 34:57Speaker 2: by god, he's.
- 34:57Speaker 3: Good good enough for us, and he should be good
- 34:59Speaker 3: enough for you.
- 35:00Speaker 1: You.
- 35:00Speaker 3: I like out in this world of the the n
- 35:03Speaker 3: I L the new like College is getting general man
- 35:06Speaker 3: like the light speed quickness that we have moved through
- 35:09Speaker 3: this and College is having to just create titles for people.
- 35:13Speaker 3: What was that title again, Coordinator of Coordinator of recruiting strategy. Yep,
- 35:18Speaker 3: that big one.
- 35:19Speaker 2: I'm waiting for the title Knower of ball.
- 35:22Speaker 3: M hmm. That's us. That's going to be a Landra.
- 35:25Speaker 3: That's gonna be I mean.
- 35:29Speaker 4: Although I did line up one of the receivers who
- 35:31Speaker 4: I was thinking I was putting off the ball yeah,
- 35:34Speaker 4: instead of putting him behind the ball, I'll put him
- 35:36Speaker 4: ahead of the ball because I'm you know, just hold
- 35:39Speaker 4: on this lexic.
- 35:40Speaker 9: Just eleven personnel that ball.
- 35:43Speaker 3: We did the guy right there.
- 35:45Speaker 9: Yeah, he's not supposed to be well, I.
- 35:47Speaker 4: Mean not supposed to be that far out, So it
- 35:48Speaker 4: doesn't matter. That doesn't change of the personnel or the format.
- 35:51Speaker 10: Let me guess there's eleven people on the field, Well,
- 35:54Speaker 10: there's eleven people.
- 35:55Speaker 4: That has nothing to do with eleven personnel. So numbers
- 35:57Speaker 4: are talking about how many tight ends and running back
- 36:00Speaker 4: in the game.
- 36:00Speaker 3: Okay, So our goal here at OTB this football season
- 36:03Speaker 3: and then the lead up to educate, like to turn over
- 36:06Speaker 3: all our listeners and more educated ball nerves. I think
- 36:09Speaker 3: one thing is like I think LSU fans in general
- 36:12Speaker 3: have a really good sense and knowledge of football in general,
- 36:15Speaker 3: of the good, bad, the ugly. But we're going to
- 36:17Speaker 3: take the next deep dive. So we talked about this
- 36:20Speaker 3: is real basic stuff. We talked about how people verbalize
- 36:26Speaker 3: personnels on offense and so will you hear it a lot?
- 36:28Speaker 3: You hear you know, thirty one twelve twenty one personnel
- 36:31Speaker 3: whatever it is. So we just started out with what
- 36:32Speaker 3: we talk eleven and twelve personnel. So basically, you have,
- 36:36Speaker 3: besides the lineman and the quarterback, you have five skill
- 36:39Speaker 3: positions between wide receivers, tight ends, and running backs. So
- 36:44Speaker 3: that tells you the first number, Okay, the first number
- 36:48Speaker 3: is how many back running back types, so running backs
- 36:51Speaker 3: or fullbacks would be the first number, and then the
- 36:53Speaker 3: second number would be tight ends. How many tight ends
- 36:57Speaker 3: are in the game. And then there's not a third number,
- 36:59Speaker 3: it's just the remainder of the five total people that
- 37:02Speaker 3: are receivers. So eleven personnel, if the it tells you
- 37:06Speaker 3: how many running backs and how many tight ends? Yeah,
- 37:09Speaker 3: so how many tight ends? How many running backs and
- 37:12Speaker 3: tight ends are there in eleven personnel?
- 37:14Speaker 9: One one running back?
- 37:17Speaker 3: How many receivers would that.
- 37:18Speaker 2: Be if you had three?
- 37:20Speaker 3: Maybe three? Yeah, exactly? What about twelve personnel?
- 37:23Speaker 9: How many it would be two running backs and two
- 37:25Speaker 9: tight ends that.
- 37:26Speaker 2: Would be Yeah, so it'd be one twelve.
- 37:30Speaker 3: Okay, I thought I was going to personnel. The first
- 37:32Speaker 3: one's running back.
- 37:33Speaker 9: So one running back, one running.
- 37:35Speaker 3: Back or two tight tight ends? And how many receivers
- 37:37Speaker 3: two receivers, So let's switch it twenty one personnel.
- 37:41Speaker 10: It'd be two running backs, one tight end, two receivers.
- 37:45Speaker 3: Very very good, let's go fall all, No, how about this?
- 37:49Speaker 3: What about what about ten personnel?
- 37:52Speaker 9: One running back, no tight ends?
- 37:55Speaker 3: How many four receivers there? It is?
- 37:58Speaker 2: You know, more than got it? A lot of people.
- 38:00Speaker 3: Let's go ball knower.
- 38:01Speaker 2: Oh yeah, well done, so you can.
- 38:03Speaker 9: So you could do any number personnel, any.
- 38:05Speaker 3: Number five you can do. Yeah, zero five personnel.
- 38:08Speaker 9: Okay, there was, But eleven and twelve are the most common.
- 38:13Speaker 3: Eleven twelve back in the days one one okay, yeah,
- 38:17Speaker 3: I would say eleven eleven's big and eleven ten is huge.
- 38:21Speaker 3: I mean, four wide is a big thing.
- 38:24Speaker 2: There's a lot of zero personnel.
- 38:26Speaker 3: Zero personnel would be five wide, right, a.
- 38:28Speaker 9: Lot of ten personnel like hello receivers, right, empty zero,
- 38:34Speaker 9: So you just throw hello receivers out there?
- 38:36Speaker 3: Five five, five wide, five line on QB.
- 38:40Speaker 4: Like a pony personnel A twenty personnel and two backs.
- 38:44Speaker 2: No titans.
- 38:44Speaker 3: So you got you got spotters on the other team
- 38:47Speaker 3: that are watching personnels run back and forth, and they're
- 38:50Speaker 3: changing their defensive personnel, right, and so we talked about
- 38:52Speaker 3: it the other day. Yeah, base defense is four defensive backs.
- 38:57Speaker 3: Yeah right, yeah, yeah, yeah, nick would be five, okay,
- 39:01Speaker 3: time would be six DB's okay, and quarter personnel is seven.
- 39:08Speaker 3: So pretty much four defensive linements seven DB's. That's what
- 39:12Speaker 3: the team is. Like. You don't see it a lot.
- 39:13Speaker 3: That's the team that's running prefen. You can do it
- 39:15Speaker 3: in preview. Yeah, so you got spotders. So they watched
- 39:19Speaker 3: the offense run back and forth. They know who's in
- 39:20Speaker 3: the game, they know it's eleven personnel, and then they
- 39:22Speaker 3: see a tight end run in the game, They're like, okay,
- 39:25Speaker 3: it's twelve personnel with twelve car and they'll run up.
- 39:29Speaker 3: They'll be like base defense, base defense, and they'll run
- 39:31Speaker 3: a linebacker out there for the nickel.
- 39:32Speaker 10: So this feels obvious. But on here, I'm gonna guess this.
- 39:35Speaker 10: You wrote O O C O O T E lineman, lineman, center, lineman, lineman, tackle, edge,
- 39:44Speaker 10: tight end, tight end. Oh the tight ends right here.
- 39:46Speaker 10: Oh it's like linean, lineman, center, lineman, linmon and the
- 39:49Speaker 10: tight end on.
- 39:50Speaker 2: The ball always have to be But I just that's.
- 39:52Speaker 9: Just how you did it, Okay.
- 39:53Speaker 2: Yeah, I didn't even like worry about like seven.
- 39:57Speaker 3: It has to be seven on the line of scrimmage.
- 39:59Speaker 2: That's why I said, I messed up and put they
- 40:00Speaker 2: got too far up.
- 40:01Speaker 4: Yeah, it has to be seven people on the line
- 40:03Speaker 4: of scrimmage, even when you're playing Arkansas in two thousand
- 40:06Speaker 4: and seven and you hit a sixty five.
- 40:07Speaker 3: Yard rail even then, especially then details matter of fellas,
- 40:14Speaker 3: Yeah they do. They definitely right there. You got ball.
- 40:18Speaker 4: But uh, different people have different ways to draw the center.
- 40:21Speaker 4: Some people put it a square and then the other
- 40:24Speaker 4: linemen are circles.
- 40:26Speaker 2: I've seen people put a que which makes sense. People
- 40:29Speaker 2: do it. I put a C.
- 40:32Speaker 3: With a squiggly.
- 40:33Speaker 2: Some people put an X. I put a C R
- 40:36Speaker 2: a square.
- 40:36Speaker 8: Typically, I think I've seen it's always square circle circ Yeah,
- 40:41Speaker 8: square with a little squiggling.
- 40:42Speaker 3: The squiggly supposed to be like if you draw it up,
- 40:44Speaker 3: it's a square with a little circle in the middle,
- 40:46Speaker 3: which is the football. So that's but it's just like
- 40:49Speaker 3: you draw a square and just quickly like squiggle little squiggly. Yeah.
- 40:53Speaker 3: But yeah, if the tight end is on the ball
- 40:55Speaker 3: to one side, you got one receiver to that side,
- 40:57Speaker 3: receiver off.
- 40:58Speaker 2: Yeah, the receiver.
- 40:58Speaker 3: It's all line scrimmers the tight end.
- 41:00Speaker 9: There's too many out there.
- 41:01Speaker 2: Line seven on the line on the other side, you'll
- 41:03Speaker 2: have a receiver on the ball. Yeah, so that makes
- 41:05Speaker 2: your seven.
- 41:06Speaker 3: You can't you can have more than seven, but anybody
- 41:09Speaker 3: past that seventh person cannot route. So if the tight
- 41:12Speaker 3: ends on the line of scrimmage and the receiver to
- 41:14Speaker 3: that side is on the line of scrimmage, only one
- 41:17Speaker 3: of them can go out for a pass.
- 41:18Speaker 9: Okay, that makes sense.
- 41:21Speaker 2: All right, there we go. We go a little football
- 41:24Speaker 2: one oh one here.
- 41:25Speaker 4: Wait, just wait till Gulf Coast gives us that interactive whiteboard.
- 41:29Speaker 2: We are.
