- 0:47Speaker 1: Welcome to the Ball Alert Show. My name is Ferrari Simmers,
- 0:49Speaker 1: go by the name you know bt he wanting to building.
- 0:53Speaker 4: Thank y'all for having me, the guy that's been taking
- 0:56Speaker 4: social media by storm man boy, the storm is taking you.
- 1:00Speaker 2: You just manure taking me yeah, I'm here. I'm here
- 1:03Speaker 2: to I'm here to end the storm for sure, to
- 1:06Speaker 2: end the storm.
- 1:06Speaker 1: We've been in the storm for too long, for sure,
- 1:08Speaker 1: that's how I feel.
- 1:10Speaker 2: And we got we've been in the storm for so
- 1:12Speaker 2: long that we feel like that's where we belong life
- 1:15Speaker 2: about being in the storm.
- 1:16Speaker 1: May look at the weather outside today, that.
- 1:18Speaker 2: Belonging agrees well, But as black people, we feel like
- 1:21Speaker 2: now the storm, that's that's the struggle.
- 1:23Speaker 1: That's what we belong in, and we gotta love it
- 1:25Speaker 1: and we gotta glorify.
- 1:26Speaker 4: No, we don't, man, So I'm going to include you
- 1:29Speaker 4: in the conversation. The clip still didn't go viral. We
- 1:33Speaker 4: were talking just amongst each other, and I said, good
- 1:37Speaker 4: content never goes viral. We were talking about I did
- 1:40Speaker 4: a I looked at the camera and I said, shout
- 1:42Speaker 4: out to all the people in great relationships. Shout out
- 1:44Speaker 4: to the men and women who communicate effectively. I shout
- 1:47Speaker 4: out to all the co parents who communicate effectively. And
- 1:50Speaker 4: I said, share this post like and guess what.
- 1:53Speaker 1: It didn't go nowhere.
- 1:54Speaker 4: You want to know why because it's not triggering. It's
- 1:56Speaker 4: not going to trigger the person. It's boring it's simplest,
- 2:00Speaker 4: it's good, it's healthy, it's healthy. They don't want to
- 2:04Speaker 4: hear or see that, my boy. They want to see conflict, yep.
- 2:07Speaker 4: They want to see opposition, yep.
- 2:09Speaker 1: They want to see why you don't go to the
- 2:11Speaker 1: strip club?
- 2:12Speaker 2: Correct, And they want to make it seem like I'm wrong,
- 2:15Speaker 2: for bro, Ain't nobody gonna convince me that, first of all,
- 2:21Speaker 2: you believe in God.
- 2:21Speaker 1: Of course you believe in God. Sure, yeah, okay.
- 2:24Speaker 2: Ain't nobody gonna convince me that God is pleased with
- 2:28Speaker 2: an industry where women get paid to take their clothes
- 2:32Speaker 2: off and get naked, and to where we've incentivize them
- 2:35Speaker 2: to say.
- 2:36Speaker 1: Hey, we'll give you a job, but you got to
- 2:39Speaker 1: get naked for this job.
- 2:40Speaker 2: So all the things that the Bible speaks against, like promiscurity,
- 2:43Speaker 2: like lust, like trying to be as pure as possible.
- 2:46Speaker 2: So this goes against all of that stuff, right, But
- 2:50Speaker 2: this is supposed to be okay with us because we
- 2:52Speaker 2: say no, that's part of our culture. Man, Ain't nobody
- 2:55Speaker 2: gonna convince me that that's okay?
- 2:57Speaker 1: Let alone. This brother said it off camera. He said, man,
- 3:00Speaker 1: I was in New Orleans loving the food.
- 3:02Speaker 2: The only thing is I was with the wife and
- 3:04Speaker 2: the kids, and when we walk down the strip, he
- 3:05Speaker 2: talked about Bourbon Street up man, I see people hitting
- 3:08Speaker 2: the crack.
- 3:08Speaker 1: Pipe and all that. He didn't want his kids exposed
- 3:11Speaker 1: to that.
- 3:11Speaker 2: So when you try to take this strip club culture
- 3:14Speaker 2: that we know first of all is wrong, but second
- 3:16Speaker 2: of all, it's for adults.
- 3:18Speaker 1: If anything right, it's legal. But then when you try
- 3:20Speaker 1: to take that and co brand.
- 3:21Speaker 2: That with an NBA game where kids are gonna be at,
- 3:26Speaker 2: I know that anybody in their right mind is like, hey,
- 3:28Speaker 2: you got to call a spade a spade. That's going
- 3:30Speaker 2: a little too far, y'all trying to co brand this
- 3:32Speaker 2: with an NBA game to where seven year olds or
- 3:35Speaker 2: like Miami.
- 3:36Speaker 1: What's Magic City? What are those hoodies saying? Can you
- 3:39Speaker 1: explain Magic City to me?
- 3:40Speaker 2: That's not the time and the place for that type
- 3:42Speaker 2: of stuff, and for me to speak out against it,
- 3:45Speaker 2: and people act like I'm doing something wrong to the
- 3:48Speaker 2: point where they're making distracks, people making threats.
- 3:50Speaker 1: People serious. You'll never make me feel wrong about speaking
- 3:55Speaker 1: of fools right well, now, I.
- 3:57Speaker 4: Will definitely admit my ignorance to that. Until I watched
- 4:00Speaker 4: you in Banks interview, and I said, Okay, you got
- 4:03Speaker 4: a point, and that makes sense. And I said, yeah,
- 4:05Speaker 4: because me as an adult, I worked in that vicinity
- 4:09Speaker 4: for a very long time. It's not my preference to
- 4:12Speaker 4: go there now. And that's my personal preference that I
- 4:17Speaker 4: don't even go. I barely go because I'm married. Now.
- 4:21Speaker 4: This is probably gonna clip up too, but I'm just saying,
- 4:24Speaker 4: like I don't have the I don't want to you
- 4:28Speaker 4: you don't have the desire to go. I don't want
- 4:31Speaker 4: to be there because I'm happy with the person I with,
- 4:34Speaker 4: So I don't want to see anything.
- 4:36Speaker 1: This needs to go viral.
- 4:38Speaker 4: It's not gonna go viral.
- 4:40Speaker 1: This needs to go viral.
- 4:41Speaker 5: I said that last time.
- 4:43Speaker 1: It's it's not gonna go because I'm.
- 4:45Speaker 4: Saying I'm happy with some of that with so I
- 4:47Speaker 4: don't want to be around that. I actually, this will
- 4:49Speaker 4: sound crazy.
- 4:50Speaker 5: I went viral.
- 4:51Speaker 4: I actually did go viral about this, but it was
- 4:53Speaker 4: viral in the negative way. I said, I hang around
- 4:55Speaker 4: a lot of my married friends. I don't really socialize
- 4:59Speaker 4: with a lot of myself with friends like I used to.
- 5:01Speaker 4: We don't really have nothing in common. All the comments
- 5:03Speaker 4: were going crazy, Bro, they was killing me. Oh, so
- 5:06Speaker 4: you're trying to tell me you don't hang out with you.
- 5:08Speaker 4: I didn't say that. I hang out with my single friends,
- 5:10Speaker 4: just not for a long time. Yeah, man, I'm gonna
- 5:12Speaker 4: hang out with my married friends. We got something in common.
- 5:14Speaker 6: And I said, from what I see, and that's normal
- 5:17Speaker 6: to hang out with people that you have stuff in common.
- 5:19Speaker 6: Win because sometimes you all grow certain friends.
- 5:21Speaker 4: BT was in my wedding, my boy Jay rocking. There
- 5:24Speaker 4: is in my wedding. They're not married. I don't hang
- 5:28Speaker 4: out with them all the time. That doesn't mean I
- 5:30Speaker 4: don't like you and I don't rock with you. Found
- 5:33Speaker 4: but if you get married, guess what, you're gonna be
- 5:36Speaker 4: at the house all the time.
- 5:37Speaker 5: That's just what it is.
- 5:39Speaker 1: But that's just my preference, sir. If you don't like
- 5:41Speaker 1: my preference, it's cool.
- 5:43Speaker 6: Man.
- 5:43Speaker 1: People want to make you feel guilty for having it, but.
- 5:45Speaker 4: I didn't feel guilty. And then my wife was in
- 5:47Speaker 4: the comments, and then it looked like she was kind
- 5:49Speaker 4: of like consumed what I was like, Babe, just don't
- 5:51Speaker 4: worry about it. But I just hate sometimes how the
- 5:55Speaker 4: voice of the many that will say on it with
- 5:59Speaker 4: the ignorance a lot of people don't accept their ignorance
- 6:03Speaker 4: because that word is a bad connotation. Yep, me personally,
- 6:07Speaker 4: I accept my ignorance because I want to become a
- 6:09Speaker 4: better person every day that I wake up. That's me
- 6:12Speaker 4: personally as a person, that is my spirit as a person.
- 6:16Speaker 4: I want to be a better person every day. But
- 6:18Speaker 4: I do know that my flaws are I curse really bad,
- 6:22Speaker 4: and I'm working on that. I do things like go
- 6:24Speaker 4: to therapy and I'm working like my wife is very spiritual, right,
- 6:28Speaker 4: and we got a lot of personal things that we
- 6:29Speaker 4: work on as a relationship and as a marriage. But
- 6:33Speaker 4: I still believe in and stand on what I say.
- 6:37Speaker 4: But I ain't gonna lie. I as a DJ and
- 6:41Speaker 4: as a host, was in that culture, the strip clubs,
- 6:46Speaker 4: And until I really sat down and watched you a
- 6:48Speaker 4: Banks interview, I said, okay, d one as a point.
- 6:51Speaker 2: Wow, That's why I don't mind having these sit downs
- 6:54Speaker 2: with you all, because I understand that communication leads to unification.
- 6:59Speaker 2: There's some people don't want to communicate for the sake
- 7:01Speaker 2: of unifying. Nowadays, people are just looking for a conflict
- 7:05Speaker 2: that you go conflict, So some people want to communicate
- 7:09Speaker 2: only to enhance the level of conflict that exists. And
- 7:12Speaker 2: I have discernment that allows me to see that, and
- 7:14Speaker 2: it's like, okay.
- 7:15Speaker 4: It triggers something in the brain. I think when you
- 7:18Speaker 4: are sparring with somebody in a negative way, because an
- 7:22Speaker 4: uplifting conversation doesn't do that to me. I mean, it
- 7:25Speaker 4: does the opposite to me. So a negative banter bothers me,
- 7:30Speaker 4: a positive banter makes me feel great. It seems like
- 7:34Speaker 4: on social media the negative stuff is.
- 7:37Speaker 6: Well when the people on social media just ignorant. And
- 7:40Speaker 6: I learned that a long time. But they wouldn't say
- 7:42Speaker 6: that to you in person. They wouldn't even talk to
- 7:44Speaker 6: you in person social media would even talk to.
- 7:47Speaker 4: A person that type what they type. Would not say
- 7:51Speaker 4: that to you if they were right in front of you.
- 7:53Speaker 1: Most people wouldn't.
- 7:54Speaker 2: There's some people who would, because very small because they
- 7:57Speaker 2: are like, hey, I want to go viral. Some people
- 8:00Speaker 2: wake up on a daily basis and say I want
- 8:03Speaker 2: to go viral because they feel as if going viral
- 8:06Speaker 2: will get them closer to feeling like they're doing something
- 8:09Speaker 2: positive with their life. Some people literally have no identity,
- 8:13Speaker 2: they have no purpose that they're connected to. So all
- 8:15Speaker 2: they look at is like, well, it seems as if
- 8:18Speaker 2: negativity and controversy goes viral online, So let me try
- 8:21Speaker 2: to put myself in that mix. And then if I
- 8:23Speaker 2: go viral, maybe I'll feel different because on a daily basis,
- 8:26Speaker 2: I don't wake up and feel great about myself. So
- 8:29Speaker 2: for me, I hate that it comes across like oh,
- 8:32Speaker 2: d one, you're calling out things. It's like, my goal
- 8:36Speaker 2: is to call in everyone, right, My goal is to
- 8:38Speaker 2: call us in and to say, Ferrari, you are working
- 8:42Speaker 2: in the strip club, DJing in the strip club.
- 8:44Speaker 1: Brother.
- 8:45Speaker 2: Think about it like this, the same convo I had
- 8:48Speaker 2: with Bank. It's like, what if I would have just
- 8:49Speaker 2: had to have that one on one with you and
- 8:51Speaker 2: if you would have been like ded? A light bulb
- 8:54Speaker 2: just went off in my head because of what we
- 8:55Speaker 2: talked about. Now I see your perspective and I understand it.
- 9:00Speaker 2: Maybe we do need to grow and evolve past what
- 9:03Speaker 2: became normal for us for so long. That is the
- 9:06Speaker 2: difficult part is people don't want to grow. They just
- 9:09Speaker 2: want to be entertained by a show. And when you
- 9:12Speaker 2: think about what.
- 9:12Speaker 4: That means people, right, yeah, yeah, I agree.
- 9:16Speaker 2: Yeah, So if people don't want to grow, but they
- 9:19Speaker 2: want to be entertained by a show. They lets you know,
- 9:22Speaker 2: I may be wasting my time if I communicate with
- 9:24Speaker 2: certain people. Yeah, and so for me, part of this
- 9:28Speaker 2: is to try to identify, like where is the soil
- 9:31Speaker 2: at that's actually fertile, to where if I plant seeds
- 9:34Speaker 2: on this soil. If I have these type of conversations,
- 9:37Speaker 2: me feeling like something edifying is gonna come from this,
- 9:40Speaker 2: the audience that's watching this feeling like dang, people might
- 9:44Speaker 2: actually sit back and say, hmm, because of what they
- 9:46Speaker 2: talked about, I'm gonna move differently moving forward. That's the goal, bro.
- 9:51Speaker 1: This ain't about just going viral.
- 9:52Speaker 2: I'm already successful, by the grace of God. I'm already
- 9:55Speaker 2: in a position where people say, you're trying to chase clout.
- 9:58Speaker 2: Let me tell you about clout. They try to use
- 10:00Speaker 2: the word clout because they feel like it has a
- 10:03Speaker 2: negative connotation. So if somebody calls you a clout chaser,
- 10:06Speaker 2: it's like, oh, yeah, he's not doing this for the
- 10:09Speaker 2: same reason everybody else is doing it.
- 10:11Speaker 1: We're all doing this for attention.
- 10:13Speaker 2: If not, turn the cameras off, turn the microphones off,
- 10:17Speaker 2: let's just talk as men. We're all on the Internet
- 10:21Speaker 2: recording ourselves, hitting upload on Instagram and on YouTube, clipping
- 10:25Speaker 2: stuff up for attention. But what are you seeking to
- 10:28Speaker 2: do with that attention and what is the goal of
- 10:31Speaker 2: that attention that you're seeking? You feel me the goal
- 10:34Speaker 2: of the attention that I'm seeking on a daily basis
- 10:37Speaker 2: from the fifteen albums I put out in my music career,
- 10:40Speaker 2: just drop My fifteenth one called The Shift. The goal
- 10:43Speaker 2: of my music, the goal of my content online is
- 10:45Speaker 2: to bring people closer to the Lord, to allow people
- 10:49Speaker 2: to see we could do it our way or we
- 10:50Speaker 2: could do it God's way. And from the beginning of
- 10:53Speaker 2: time it's been like, hey, we got our own flesh
- 10:55Speaker 2: and our own temptations, and if we go down that road,
- 10:58Speaker 2: we could be successful, we could make money, but we're
- 11:01Speaker 2: gonna miss out on the actual purpose that we were
- 11:04Speaker 2: created for. You can't accomplish your life's purpose without being
- 11:08Speaker 2: connected to your creator. So being successful ain't the end
- 11:12Speaker 2: goal for me. It's like, no, the devil could make
- 11:14Speaker 2: you successful, But my goal is, let's connect with God.
- 11:18Speaker 2: Let's understand what version of us God would like to see,
- 11:21Speaker 2: and let's do our best to fight against temptation to
- 11:25Speaker 2: fight against our flaws and the ways that the world
- 11:28Speaker 2: wants us to go, and let's become the version of
- 11:30Speaker 2: ourselves that God meant for us to be.
- 11:32Speaker 1: That's my goal, bro.
- 11:34Speaker 2: So yes, I want attention around that type of message, absolutely,
- 11:39Speaker 2: But when people make it seem like, oh, you just
- 11:40Speaker 2: chasing clout, that's why you're calling this out.
- 11:42Speaker 1: No, Bro, I didn't have to be a rapper.
- 11:45Speaker 4: Dog.
- 11:46Speaker 2: I graduated college. I was a successful middle school teacher
- 11:49Speaker 2: coaching basketball. I became a rapper because I'm like, man.
- 11:53Speaker 4: I do remember seeing the early versions. Yes, bro, you
- 11:56Speaker 4: being a teacher, Yes, Bro, I remember that.
- 11:58Speaker 2: I was like, wait, our culture makes you feel wrong
- 12:01Speaker 2: for doing the right thing and makes you feel.
- 12:03Speaker 1: Right for doing the wrong thing. That ain't hip hop.
- 12:06Speaker 2: That's hipocritical hop. That's the most backward stuff in the world.
- 12:10Speaker 2: So I'm like, we need some voices that's gonna be
- 12:13Speaker 2: able to restore the dignity to this art farm that
- 12:15Speaker 2: we say we love so much and to the black community.
- 12:18Speaker 2: How can you say you love black people but you're
- 12:21Speaker 2: champion the things that celebrate the genocide of black people,
- 12:24Speaker 2: murdering ourselves, doing drugs, selling dope, disrespecting women, and we
- 12:29Speaker 2: champion these things. And you claim you love black people,
- 12:32Speaker 2: you might as well call yourself an uncle town. You
- 12:34Speaker 2: might as well call yourself a white supremacist even though
- 12:37Speaker 2: you got brown skin.
- 12:39Speaker 1: Straight up. That's how I feel though. And people act like, oh,
- 12:42Speaker 1: you're so controversial. How in the world is me saying
- 12:46Speaker 1: this controversial? Brother? What we talking about?
- 12:49Speaker 6: Because it's not many of you, That's why it sounds contrable.
- 12:52Speaker 4: And what you have is what very few people have.
- 12:56Speaker 4: You have the gift of galvanizing people. You can get
- 13:00Speaker 4: people to believe. Most people don't have that in them.
- 13:06Speaker 1: What called me? What you want?
- 13:07Speaker 2: Bro? Just call me a man of God at the
- 13:09Speaker 2: end of it. You just call me a man of God.
- 13:11Speaker 2: Because at the end of the day, Bro, I know
- 13:15Speaker 2: for a fact that I got to make a choice.
- 13:18Speaker 2: Do I want to be popular with the people or
- 13:20Speaker 2: do I want God to say I approve of the
- 13:23Speaker 2: life that you lived while you were.
- 13:25Speaker 1: Down there on earth. I don't know how long I
- 13:26Speaker 1: got here, man, for sure. With that being said, it's
- 13:28Speaker 1: eight billion people in this world about to be ten
- 13:31Speaker 1: in a couple of years. That give me a headache to.
- 13:32Speaker 2: Think about how they impress all them. You feel me,
- 13:35Speaker 2: They moved the gold post. This the definition of real.
- 13:38Speaker 2: This the definition of successful. This is the definite.
- 13:41Speaker 1: Man. That's a headache to try to impress all of y'all, Sona, I'm.
- 13:45Speaker 2: Gonna please some of y'all along the way, but trust
- 13:47Speaker 2: and believe that it's while I was more focused on
- 13:50Speaker 2: what to do to please God.
- 13:51Speaker 1: And it's just that simple.
- 13:52Speaker 2: And I think that's a life worthy of living, and
- 13:55Speaker 2: that's a path worthy of emulating for people.
- 13:57Speaker 1: You feel me.
- 13:58Speaker 6: Now, everybody's not gonna like a lot of things that
- 14:00Speaker 6: people say in general. What I do want to ask
- 14:02Speaker 6: you is, what's you and JD's issue?
- 14:07Speaker 1: You and Jermaine Dupree?
- 14:08Speaker 4: What like?
- 14:09Speaker 1: What borderline beef do y'all got? Man?
- 14:12Speaker 2: Tell JD high lambing man. My cell phone number is
- 14:15Speaker 2: sitting in his DM right now. I have nothing against
- 14:17Speaker 2: that man.
- 14:18Speaker 1: I love JD.
- 14:19Speaker 3: Man.
- 14:19Speaker 1: He's he's super talented. You know what I'm saying. Nice guy.
- 14:24Speaker 1: I love him.
- 14:26Speaker 2: He has an issue with me publicly speaking out and
- 14:31Speaker 2: opposing things that he publicly promotes.
- 14:34Speaker 1: That's what it is.
- 14:35Speaker 2: And he took it personal when he saw me do
- 14:37Speaker 2: that for the first time. I see him doing it,
- 14:39Speaker 2: and I'm giving you the answer. Right, this ain't meant
- 14:42Speaker 2: to be no viral clip, So it's gonna be a
- 14:44Speaker 2: little long winded. He's doing a national press tour to
- 14:48Speaker 2: promote the Magic City documentary that he played a role in.
- 14:51Speaker 2: He executive produced it, or he played some prominent role
- 14:54Speaker 2: in it. When I see this and I see one
- 14:56Speaker 2: of the interviews he did and he's bragging on he
- 15:00Speaker 2: spent ten thousand dollars in the strip club every week
- 15:04Speaker 2: for the last twenty years, you know what I mean.
- 15:05Speaker 1: I do the math on that, and I'm like, so you.
- 15:08Speaker 2: Spent this many million in the strip club and you're
- 15:10Speaker 2: proud of that, you know what I'm saying. And I'm
- 15:12Speaker 2: seeing that, and I know how stuff goes bro when
- 15:15Speaker 2: it's coming from a legend and when it's being pushed
- 15:18Speaker 2: in a way that's like, that's cool. There are young,
- 15:21Speaker 2: impressionable minds that think like that's the standard of what
- 15:25Speaker 2: being a real to look like.
- 15:26Speaker 1: You know what I mean, That's the standard of.
- 15:27Speaker 2: What coolness and success really looks like. And I'm just like,
- 15:32Speaker 2: that's the problem is we set a standard that's based
- 15:35Speaker 2: on making money but having a low moral compass. And
- 15:41Speaker 2: that's what we call black excellence. That's what that's what
- 15:45Speaker 2: we content with in our community. Loan as you making money,
- 15:48Speaker 2: it don't matter what the moral compass is. It don't
- 15:51Speaker 2: matter which foolish messages you're promoting.
- 15:54Speaker 1: We're content with that.
- 15:55Speaker 2: So I spoke out against that, and I'm like, Yo,
- 15:57Speaker 2: this is a shame because you know what, if you
- 15:59Speaker 2: can push you publicly, I can oppose it publicly.
- 16:02Speaker 1: That's all. He had a problem. He had He had
- 16:06Speaker 1: a he had a problem with that.
- 16:08Speaker 2: As soon as I posted something publicly opposing what he
- 16:11Speaker 2: was pushing, jumped in my DM. Right, I'm taking y'all,
- 16:14Speaker 2: giving y'all to play by play. He jumps in my DM, man,
- 16:17Speaker 2: I support your message. Da da da You know, like, oh,
- 16:21Speaker 2: you just coming to the same thing, making it seem
- 16:23Speaker 2: like I'm just chasing cloud and all this type of stuff.
- 16:26Speaker 1: And I'm explaining to him, brother, before I was one
- 16:29Speaker 1: of y'all, Before I was a rap, a rapper, you
- 16:32Speaker 1: know what I'm saying. I'm a man of God.
- 16:35Speaker 4: Bro.
- 16:35Speaker 1: I was a middle school teacher. I am here to
- 16:37Speaker 1: make this world a better place.
- 16:39Speaker 2: I am using rap, I am using this industry and
- 16:42Speaker 2: this platform to push out a message that I know
- 16:44Speaker 2: God will.
- 16:44Speaker 1: Be pleased with.
- 16:45Speaker 2: Do you really think God is pleased with this type
- 16:48Speaker 2: of behavior from us? I get left on scene right
- 16:51Speaker 2: at that point. Then it's like, yo, by the way,
- 16:54Speaker 2: here's my cell phone number. High at me any time, bro,
- 16:57Speaker 2: Like for real. I get left on scene, and as
- 17:00Speaker 2: fate would have it, I'm talking to somebody about this convo.
- 17:03Speaker 2: They was like, oh, jd oh, he gonna be at
- 17:05Speaker 2: this event that's going on tomorrow night. You know what
- 17:07Speaker 2: I'm saying, You want to go see him? I'm like, bet,
- 17:10Speaker 2: And I'm not the dude that's pulling up on something. Yeah,
- 17:13Speaker 2: let's go pull up on him and type of energy.
- 17:14Speaker 2: I don't have a bone of that in my body.
- 17:17Speaker 2: I'm like yes, because then I could see the brother
- 17:19Speaker 2: and he could see like, oh, d One is moving
- 17:21Speaker 2: out of love. Man, d One don't have no malicious intentions.
- 17:25Speaker 2: So I went showed enough he's at the event. I
- 17:27Speaker 2: seeing we both standing on stage, I go dap him off.
- 17:30Speaker 1: I put my arm around him.
- 17:31Speaker 2: I talked to him in his ear, you know, the
- 17:33Speaker 2: music was loud, just letting him know like it ain't
- 17:35Speaker 2: nothing malicious that I'm meaning when I say this stuff,
- 17:38Speaker 2: and it was cool, and it was cool after that,
- 17:42Speaker 2: it was cool until it wasn't cool.
- 17:44Speaker 1: Then it's like, here we go the Magic City stuff.
- 17:49Speaker 2: I speak my mind on the Magic City stuff, right,
- 17:52Speaker 2: I'm opposed to Magic City night at a Atlanta Hawk's gang,
- 17:56Speaker 2: I speak my mind on that. There's different people in
- 17:58Speaker 2: the city. They know who they are who feel played
- 18:01Speaker 2: by my opinion on that, so they make distracks about me.
- 18:06Speaker 2: Dis tracks lead to making threads. They gonna kill me
- 18:09Speaker 2: with their Draco's and they gonna shoot me up and
- 18:11Speaker 2: da da da crashing out over a strip club. You
- 18:14Speaker 2: hear me, And as this is happening, JD, you liking
- 18:19Speaker 2: these posts? Well, man talking about taking my life? Oh
- 18:22Speaker 2: you liking that post?
- 18:23Speaker 1: Do you want it? Just a like you shouldn't take
- 18:25Speaker 1: it serious. This man talking about killing me and you
- 18:27Speaker 1: liking that post?
- 18:28Speaker 5: And you a legend.
- 18:29Speaker 2: And I know how important it is to me when
- 18:31Speaker 2: a Jada Kiss likes my post of me rapping, or
- 18:34Speaker 2: when many fresh or somebody likes my post. That feel
- 18:37Speaker 2: good to you as an artist, because that's a co
- 18:39Speaker 2: sign from a big dog.
- 18:41Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying.
- 18:42Speaker 2: I see that, I'm like, here you go again with
- 18:45Speaker 2: this old passive aggressive co signing some stuff that that
- 18:50Speaker 2: that that's implying negativity towards me. But in this instance
- 18:54Speaker 2: it gets it gets extra serious. So I see that
- 18:58Speaker 2: and I'm like, yeah, I don't feel that, and so
- 19:00Speaker 2: I speak out on that, and I guess he felt like, oh,
- 19:02Speaker 2: here go d one calling me out again.
- 19:04Speaker 1: Brother, don't don't.
- 19:06Speaker 2: Don't be the person who initiates something. But then when
- 19:11Speaker 2: I respond to what's been initiated, you sitting there like, WHOA,
- 19:14Speaker 2: I ain't do nothing. You know. I play basketball my
- 19:17Speaker 2: whole life, brother, I know what it is when I
- 19:19Speaker 2: elbow somebody and then when they come and push me back,
- 19:21Speaker 2: and I look at the.
- 19:22Speaker 1: Ref like, Ralph, you saw that push. You saw that push?
- 19:25Speaker 2: No, we saw that elbow first. The camera's gonna you
- 19:28Speaker 2: know what I'm saying. So that's all that is, bro,
- 19:31Speaker 2: And it's just like left call the spade a spade.
- 19:33Speaker 4: Man.
- 19:33Speaker 1: I don't, brother, I don't have no problem with JD
- 19:36Speaker 1: in real life.
- 19:37Speaker 2: It's just that people have a problem with me being
- 19:40Speaker 2: in the same industry as them and having a different
- 19:43Speaker 2: viewpoint from them when it comes to what they're trying
- 19:46Speaker 2: to push versus what I'm pushing. Sometimes those things are
- 19:48Speaker 2: gonna clash, and we can peacefully coexist with that. I
- 19:52Speaker 2: got songs with people who push messages that I am
- 19:56Speaker 2: opposed to. Oftentimes. That doesn't mean we can't work together,
- 19:59Speaker 2: find I'm a ground. That doesn't mean that we can't
- 20:01Speaker 2: agree to disagree in certain instances. But it don't have
- 20:05Speaker 2: to be this stuff to where all of a sudden
- 20:07Speaker 2: it's like I'm your, I'm your, your your app or
- 20:11Speaker 2: something like that. I seen him post something underneath Ray
- 20:13Speaker 2: Daniel's post saying, tell his niggas keep my name out
- 20:17Speaker 2: of his mouth because I made a joke. Brother, I
- 20:19Speaker 2: made a joke. I said, yeah, we should shut all
- 20:21Speaker 2: the strip clubs down. I'm serious about that, right. I
- 20:24Speaker 2: got a new song that's out today, Cause shoot.
- 20:26Speaker 1: Them shut the strip clubs down, all of them.
- 20:30Speaker 2: You want them to shut You want them to shut
- 20:32Speaker 2: all the slave quarters down, all the plantations, all of them.
- 20:35Speaker 1: We can't just keep some of the safe slave plantations.
- 20:38Speaker 1: That's how I feel.
- 20:39Speaker 2: You had some slaves who after a while they mind
- 20:42Speaker 2: got walked to their where to where they was like.
- 20:44Speaker 1: I love being here. Massa love me, master, give me food, Master,
- 20:49Speaker 1: give me a place to sleep.
- 20:51Speaker 2: So when somebody coming along like say, y'all, I'm telling you,
- 20:54Speaker 2: it's more to life than being a slave, they might
- 20:56Speaker 2: be like, some ma of these women love being in here. Brother,
- 20:59Speaker 2: let's go, let's for a million dollars cash up right
- 21:01Speaker 2: now and go to every first grade classroom in Atlanta
- 21:04Speaker 2: and ask them, young ladies what they want to be
- 21:06Speaker 2: when they grow up.
- 21:07Speaker 1: None of them a gonna say I want to be
- 21:08Speaker 1: a stripper, none of them.
- 21:12Speaker 2: Eventually they get to a place where they're financially desperate
- 21:15Speaker 2: or to where their self confidence is low, and they
- 21:18Speaker 2: look around them and say, well, what are people being
- 21:20Speaker 2: celebrated for. Oh, this girl lit and it seemed like
- 21:23Speaker 2: they love her for her titties, for her body, year man,
- 21:26Speaker 2: and how good she could work. God just so happened
- 21:29Speaker 2: to give me some breast and some booty. And I
- 21:31Speaker 2: know how to work too. Maybe that makes sense. And
- 21:34Speaker 2: they look like they make fast money because I see
- 21:36Speaker 2: documentaries come out about it, and I hear the rappers
- 21:38Speaker 2: praise these type of women. So when I see this
- 21:41Speaker 2: and when I know that this is what's going on,
- 21:43Speaker 2: it's just like, Yeah, Bro, I feel like we should
- 21:46Speaker 2: shut them down. And on Ray DOWNI you'll show shout
- 21:48Speaker 2: out to Ray Downe's big shout out to Ray. I
- 21:50Speaker 2: made a joke and I said, man, let's shut all
- 21:53Speaker 2: the strip clubs down because Jermaine dupri can give all
- 21:56Speaker 2: the former strippers a job because he always bragged on
- 21:59Speaker 2: how much he's spend in the strip club. So just
- 22:01Speaker 2: spend that same money giving these strippers a job now
- 22:04Speaker 2: to not have the strip that's all I said. That's lighthearted.
- 22:07Speaker 1: So I got mad. You never had Magic City Wings.
- 22:10Speaker 1: Here you go talk about you talk about you going
- 22:15Speaker 1: to the strip club for the wings. How that sound?
- 22:18Speaker 1: How that sound?
- 22:19Speaker 4: How that sound?
- 22:20Speaker 1: Bro?
- 22:21Speaker 4: Ignorant? I mean I have done that?
- 22:24Speaker 5: Yeah, hey yeah, hey why as black people?
- 22:30Speaker 2: You're right, I don't see nobody in this room that's
- 22:32Speaker 2: not black, even behind that Curt look at him, talk
- 22:33Speaker 2: about the wings, the wings?
- 22:35Speaker 1: Say it right?
- 22:35Speaker 5: Hey?
- 22:36Speaker 1: No he no, he with you?
- 22:40Speaker 2: This is all I want to ask, why are we
- 22:41Speaker 2: so afraid to call out negativity in the black community.
- 22:45Speaker 1: We're all afraid to call out negativity. Why.
- 22:48Speaker 4: I also think we're conditioned to not see certain things
- 22:51Speaker 4: as negative as negative? So, for example, the connotation in
- 22:55Speaker 4: my head for a strip club and the culture wasn't
- 22:58Speaker 4: negative for me, because you like.
- 23:01Speaker 2: Making money off of it, Yeah, and because you looked
- 23:03Speaker 2: at it as empower into the women.
- 23:05Speaker 4: I didn't look at it as empowering. It looked like
- 23:07Speaker 4: I looked at it as normal.
- 23:09Speaker 1: Normal.
- 23:09Speaker 4: That was like a normal thing to do growing up.
- 23:13Speaker 6: It's like being in the hood, Like you think the
- 23:15Speaker 6: hood is normal until you become an adult and you said.
- 23:19Speaker 1: Normal.
- 23:20Speaker 2: You know.
- 23:20Speaker 4: I grew up in South Florida, so very multicultural, until
- 23:24Speaker 4: I came to Atlanta and saw black people that had money.
- 23:29Speaker 4: I never saw that before growing up.
- 23:30Speaker 3: Bro.
- 23:31Speaker 4: Matter of fact, I met my wife and she lived
- 23:34Speaker 4: in a nice, all black neighborhood. Never saw that before
- 23:37Speaker 4: in my life. The first time I moved into an
- 23:40Speaker 4: all black neighborhood where everybody had money was when I
- 23:42Speaker 4: met her. We lived together, and it still bothered me
- 23:45Speaker 4: for a very long time because I kept saying, Wow,
- 23:47Speaker 4: everybody in here is cool. Like the neighborhood I live
- 23:50Speaker 4: in now, we have a group chat and everyone's black.
- 23:54Speaker 4: If a car comes down in the neighborhood, that don't
- 23:56Speaker 4: nobody know. And this is something that I grew up
- 23:59Speaker 4: thinking what is normal? So just to come back to
- 24:03Speaker 4: a strip club and making fast money. Growing up, I
- 24:07Speaker 4: saw that as normal, almost like growing up you think
- 24:10Speaker 4: the police are not your friends. It's almost the same
- 24:14Speaker 4: thing because we're the minority. Right when you leave Atlanta,
- 24:19Speaker 4: New Orleans, DC, Jackson, Mississippi, the world is Houston, Wakanda, Bro.
- 24:26Speaker 4: Matter of fact, we are not normal to a lot
- 24:29Speaker 4: of people when we leave these little areas where we're
- 24:32Speaker 4: affluent in. Again, I didn't grow up in Atlanta, but
- 24:36Speaker 4: my wife did, so she didn't. She didn't understand growing
- 24:40Speaker 4: up in Florida. Florida is very racist, bro, even right
- 24:43Speaker 4: now in twenty twenty six. And keep in mind, as
- 24:46Speaker 4: soon as you leave Atlanta, it's very racist.
- 24:49Speaker 1: So in Georgia.
- 24:50Speaker 4: In Georgia, yeah, towns you can't go to in Georgia.
- 24:55Speaker 4: So and the crazy thing is, I don't want to
- 24:58Speaker 4: keep it too long because we got a gift for you.
- 25:00Speaker 4: But to answer your question, strip clubs the culture that's normal.
- 25:07Speaker 4: That was normal to me until I watched you in
- 25:10Speaker 4: Big Bank. I'm forty three. Wow, I'm forty three, and
- 25:15Speaker 4: I thought everything was normal until you and Bank sat
- 25:18Speaker 4: down and I saw your perspective. But I'm ignorant enough
- 25:21Speaker 4: to admit that. You admit that, but yes, okay, but
- 25:26Speaker 4: I also know most people got other things going on.
- 25:30Speaker 4: That's the last thing in their mind because think about it,
- 25:34Speaker 4: they can't even afford to go to the strip club
- 25:37Speaker 4: because you got to have the bank roll to get
- 25:40Speaker 4: in there. Because I know the culture because I've been
- 25:42Speaker 4: part of it. No person doesn't even go to the
- 25:46Speaker 4: strip club.
- 25:47Speaker 1: It's more so an industry thing.
- 25:48Speaker 4: And a fantasy. So someone if it has to be
- 25:51Speaker 4: someone's if you see a normal person the strip clubs
- 25:53Speaker 4: their birthday, it's somebody themselfing that got a divorce, It's
- 25:57Speaker 4: somebody that got cheated on Nigga wan with their friends
- 26:00Speaker 4: that have a good time. It's some corporate guys that
- 26:03Speaker 4: was like, oh, Atlanta, Atlanta, Atlanta, I need to see
- 26:05Speaker 4: some big, boody black girls. Never seen that before. I'm white,
- 26:10Speaker 4: I've never seen that before. So if you're in Atlanta
- 26:12Speaker 4: and Houston, it's a little different. But that's what I'm saying.
- 26:14Speaker 4: It is so ingrained in our brains. It's normal. And
- 26:18Speaker 4: this clip ain't gonna go viral either, even though I
- 26:20Speaker 4: broke it down.
- 26:21Speaker 1: Yeah, perfectly.
- 26:22Speaker 4: Yeah, because the truth doesn't go far. Yeah, the truth
- 26:27Speaker 4: doesn't go hard.
- 26:28Speaker 2: I feel like I don't feel defeated by feeling like
- 26:32Speaker 2: the truth can't go far.
- 26:34Speaker 1: I think it's harder for the truth to go far.
- 26:36Speaker 4: Because you have to continue to consistently push it, like you.
- 26:40Speaker 6: Gotta or you gotta have the saxophone background. So maybe
- 26:44Speaker 6: that's what we'll do with this clip.
- 26:47Speaker 1: Clip go viral. Clip what you said, and we gonna
- 26:51Speaker 1: put the saxophone in the background, and we gonna see.
- 26:54Speaker 2: If that works them clips go viral. So when I
- 26:56Speaker 2: was a college student, I went to l s U
- 26:57Speaker 2: and Baton Rouge, Louisiana. I interned that Max Now in
- 27:00Speaker 2: four point one the radio station. Right, so we talking,
- 27:03Speaker 2: we talking around the town. Wipe me Down came out.
- 27:05Speaker 2: I remember I was under DJ super Mic my man
- 27:07Speaker 2: DJ Bosi. DJ Bosi just text me all my way
- 27:10Speaker 2: here today. Right for people who think d One just
- 27:13Speaker 2: clout chasing and all this stuff. Bro this you could
- 27:15Speaker 2: tell a boy my hair how long ago that was, right,
- 27:18Speaker 2: Like like look at look at these pictures. He said,
- 27:20Speaker 2: he just found them in the closet at work today. Right,
- 27:22Speaker 2: That's when I used to have my I used to
- 27:25Speaker 2: have my press kid that I would go to work with.
- 27:27Speaker 1: I had a demo CD, I had those lot a
- 27:29Speaker 1: black and white picture. No, it was a black and
- 27:32Speaker 1: white shirt. No, I'm talking about the picture as hell.
- 27:36Speaker 1: That's what I'm saying.
- 27:37Speaker 5: But what I'm saying it's right.
- 27:40Speaker 2: But next to it that that shirt that I got
- 27:42Speaker 2: on that says d one, a new voice, a new movement, right, bro.
- 27:46Speaker 2: I've been on this since then when I had a
- 27:48Speaker 2: bush fade, you know what I mean, Like for people
- 27:50Speaker 2: who can't see before all this, before my head was
- 27:52Speaker 2: down to my waistline, I've been on this, bro. So
- 27:55Speaker 2: for people who make it seem like, man, this dude
- 27:57Speaker 2: just coming along and just trying to go viral right
- 28:00Speaker 2: quick or just chasing clout right quick, I never thought that, Yeah.
- 28:03Speaker 1: Yeah, I never. I never thought that. When you clips,
- 28:05Speaker 1: I always.
- 28:06Speaker 4: Paid attention to the way you articulated yourself. And now
- 28:09Speaker 4: again I feel like, even though it was some things
- 28:11Speaker 4: I saw that was right, I didn't agree with, but
- 28:13Speaker 4: it was some things that I was like, oh yeah,
- 28:15Speaker 4: he's definitely on point. But again, my epiphany happened when
- 28:19Speaker 4: you it's spoke out the big bank because even Big
- 28:22Speaker 4: Bank had to say he did.
- 28:23Speaker 1: You're right, he did, and that meant a lot. I'm
- 28:25Speaker 1: so glad that clip went viral and you I.
- 28:27Speaker 4: Don't even know if you understand how important Big Bank.
- 28:29Speaker 1: Is to Atlanta. I didn't understand before that interview. I
- 28:32Speaker 1: did not understand.
- 28:33Speaker 4: But even having a conversation with him, you know, that
- 28:36Speaker 4: was that was great.
- 28:37Speaker 1: That's what made me watch Wow.
- 28:38Speaker 4: And I had saw you a few times prior, so
- 28:41Speaker 4: just to I just want I just want to shake
- 28:43Speaker 4: your hand. You know what I'm saying. I appreciate your message.
- 28:46Speaker 5: Now we have a.
- 28:47Speaker 4: Surprise for you, or watches one time or watches.
- 28:52Speaker 2: You feel you're serious and sin't got no watch on
- 28:55Speaker 2: my Wris right now. But I'm left handed, so what
- 28:57Speaker 2: that means right hand?
- 28:58Speaker 5: Right back?
- 29:01Speaker 2: Let's go, man, we can size it for you to
- 29:03Speaker 2: just that sug of righteous you heard man already, right,
- 29:06Speaker 2: I ain't only need no links took out, sir, Yes,
- 29:08Speaker 2: sir Man Man, thank you Bro, that's Roy.
- 29:11Speaker 4: Yeah, that's generation now.
- 29:14Speaker 1: Okay, oh man, this is a beautiful man. Guess you
- 29:19Speaker 1: know with a gift. You know what I'm saying. Yeah, Yeah,
- 29:22Speaker 1: I'm gonna tell y'all.
- 29:23Speaker 2: My only thing about gifts is sometimes it make it
- 29:25Speaker 2: seem like, all right, we might not see you no more.
- 29:27Speaker 1: So we're gonna give you this now, just to let
- 29:29Speaker 1: you know we love you.
- 29:30Speaker 4: Bro.
- 29:30Speaker 2: We need to keep it, We need we need to
- 29:32Speaker 2: keep we need to keep in touch, bro, because because listen,
- 29:36Speaker 2: this is bigger than just a conversation.
- 29:38Speaker 1: This is bigger than just a viral moment. This is
- 29:40Speaker 1: about trying to shift the culture.
- 29:41Speaker 2: The name of my new album is called The Shift
- 29:43Speaker 2: because I recognize that the shift is here, Bro, It's here,
- 29:47Speaker 2: and it's not gonna be easy because we're going against
- 29:49Speaker 2: forty years of things being done one way.
- 29:52Speaker 1: Longer than that man, longer than that ye, longer than that.
- 29:55Speaker 2: We're going against, Broke, We're going against It's almost like
- 29:58Speaker 2: trying to take a shif there it in a totally
- 30:01Speaker 2: different direction that doesn't happen overnight.
- 30:03Speaker 4: You know what I would like to do, If it's cool,
- 30:06Speaker 4: we can do this again, live with the audience. That's
- 30:10Speaker 4: fine that we can do so we can, But I
- 30:15Speaker 4: want the audience to be a couple of the guys
- 30:18Speaker 4: that need.
- 30:19Speaker 1: To be an audience that need to be in the audience.
- 30:21Speaker 4: Like we could close set it but have some of
- 30:26Speaker 4: the who's who's in the Jamaine Duprix.
- 30:28Speaker 2: We need him in the audience, like, Bro, like I'm
- 30:34Speaker 2: not Yeah, I'm not out to people like that. Yeah,
- 30:38Speaker 2: I'm not out to embarrass you. I'm not out to
- 30:41Speaker 2: like nobody. I'm not out to do that. Bro, there's
- 30:43Speaker 2: certain y'all to be surprised. Bro, in my d M
- 30:46Speaker 2: how many raps. I'm not surprised when they feel like
- 30:48Speaker 2: it ain't no cameras on right now, Like okay, and
- 30:50Speaker 2: nobody watching this man let me hit d one up
- 30:52Speaker 2: and asking for some advice, right, I'm not share with
- 30:55Speaker 2: him that I'm trying to change. I'm just struggling to
- 30:58Speaker 2: grow because I ain't. Never got paid for nothing other
- 31:00Speaker 2: than the wretched ratchet virgine ma.
- 31:04Speaker 4: Bro, I get it, we all have been, but I
- 31:07Speaker 4: feel like as a I can't speak for the woman,
- 31:11Speaker 4: but I can't speak as a When I was a
- 31:13Speaker 4: young man, I never I didn't care about nothing for real, Bro,
- 31:16Speaker 4: but myself, I was very selfish. I was a liar.
- 31:18Speaker 4: I was doing all types of stuff, Bro, I was
- 31:20Speaker 4: all over the place. I didn't start articulating my thoughts
- 31:24Speaker 4: and who I was and how people view me until
- 31:26Speaker 4: I maybe north of thirty five. So if we can
- 31:29Speaker 4: start touching these young men a lot sooner. That's why
- 31:33Speaker 4: for me, when I do my work, I do a
- 31:35Speaker 4: lot of my work in elementary schools because you'll get
- 31:37Speaker 4: you'll get the child, and you'll get the parents. The

- 32:23Speaker 1: care for the camera.
- 32:27Speaker 4: That's why when I go to the elementary schools, I
- 32:29Speaker 4: communicate with the kids, because you'll get the kids and
- 32:32Speaker 4: you'll get the parents. Man, because these guys.
- 32:36Speaker 1: Speaking to kids.
