I guess we should talk about next week we have the entire

turbo boost event that's going to be starting that starts May

13th in NA and in EU the next day on May 14th.

Now this event is basically the mid season.

OK, we're taking the the caps off.

So no more caps on your on your Crest.

You'll be able to get as many of those as you want.

But on top of that, we're getting well, they call them

puzzling cartel chips, but they're basically the dinars

that we've got in past seasons. Now they are a little bit

different than past seasons because they are they've got a
2:45
lot of different rules and restrictions than they had

before. People who have had the dinars

in the past, it was you would you would earn these things and

you would go to a vendor and you'd buy whatever weapon or

trinket or piece that you wanted.

And in the last iteration that was season 4 of dragon fight,

you would buy it and then you would be able to upgrade it all

the way up to Max level. So even if you bought it and it

was like veteran or LFR level, you could get it up to mythic

level. This time there is a lot more

restriction. You buy them and you have to buy
3:24
them at at a track. So you can get heroic raid gear,

you can get mythic plus dungeon gear, and you can get mythic
3:38
raid gear, but you need specific things.

Now. Originally it was just raid

stuff that you could get out of this.

So you would you would need to, you wouldn't be able to get
3:51
anything out of the mythic plus pool.

They've added in the mythic plus pool.

But the restrictions that I'm talking about is unless you do

all dungeons at 12 or higher, you can't get the highest level,

the mythic track, mythic plus dungeon trinkets and so forth,

right? And if you want to get the

highest level of the raid trinkets and such, you have to

beat the boss that it drops off on mythic difficulty.

Now this has caused some people to be upset about it because

it's a much bigger restriction than it used to be.

I know a lot of people, they look at this raid, they look at

where the best stuff is coming from, and it's from the last
4:44
couple of bosses, like the Eye of Kazan, the best in slot, the
4:51
House of Cards. Those are all from like last 2-3
4:55
bosses and so beating those on mythic difficulty is no small
5:01
feat. You compare that again to the
5:06
mythic side that got added in and you're looking at like
5:10
beating all dungeons at 12 and higher in time to get your
5:13
resilience. That also is is something that
5:18
not everybody is going to be jumping to.

So a lot of people are upset about these additional
5:25
restrictions, but. Good.

It feels like it's more meant as bad luck protection and not as a

catch up mechanic like the, which is I think a valid thing

to do, especially since I, I feel like, I mean, I haven't
5:39
really been tuned into mythic plus, but I feel like people

have been saying it's not the hardest mythic season.

And so I think it, it makes sense to not if, if people are
5:48
feeling like they're already getting gear pretty easily to
5:50
not also have catch up mechanics on top of that.

But I can understand if you're like, oh, the DNRS are coming

out, That's a great catch up mechanic since it historically

has been, it kind of feels like the rug's being pulled out from
5:59
under your feet if you don't get the catch up mechanic you

thought you were getting. Yeah.

And so the, the reason that this is so restricted is because it's

coming in mid season. It's not coming in season 4

where who cares? It just is affecting that with

that tear. And as soon as you start

levelling up, you're going to get past this stuff anyways,

right? Like if we get like, let's say

you're an LFR Raider for the the most extreme version, you're an

LFR Raider and now you get a mythic trinket.

That means that that slot is locked out for not only this

tier, which two cares, we're very late into the tier, but all

of next here as well unless they also put in this system.

And so that's why they're being far more restrictive of it.

Like the thought is that if you're killing mythic bosses or

doing plus twelves this season, you're likely to be around that

level again the following the following season.

And I think you've said it exactly right thing.

This is a bad luck sort of thing where it's like, oh, you know, I

haven't been getting that that the boss or like we've been
7:21
really pushing through this this tier and we've hit this sort of

wall. So I just need a couple of items

that haven't dropped for myself or for the team to like, give us

an extra power to push through your current progression.

And so I think this works in that way, but people are really

fighting it because they expect it to be like the original

denier system. And it's also not, I feel like

it's, it's different that we're doing a quest right where you

get the chips after you kill a certain number of bosses every

week versus historically it's been a drop off of a boss.

I mean, which I can do the six to one half dozen, the other

like it, it kind of comes out in the wash, but I they definitely

are playing with it, which I think is fun.

I like that they're experimenting.

I don't like I get the bad luck protection, especially when

there are certain things that like every single person on your
8:21
raid team is probably rolling. I do sort of feel like if my

raid team has killed a boss, that's not the loot that I'm

most likely to need. So it feels a little bit like a

nothing burger kind of, but I mean, I, I'm, I'm an AOTC

Raider, so I also am not like overly concerned about like, Oh

my God, I don't have the maxed out gear at every moment.

So like I'm kind of, this is just fun for gear to me.

I'm not overly fussed. Yeah.

So like there's a number of things for it.

If you are like, again, you're right, it's more bad luck

production. If you already got the gear, you
8:59
already got the boss on farm, this isn't really going to to

help you that much. But if you are, if you only beat

the boss once and and your team's sort of like going like,

oh geez, maybe we do a lockout and there's a bunch of people

who could use the gear from that boss, but you're struggling

against it and you're just like pushing through to the next

boss. Well, week 1 you get the three,

the three chips upon doing the quest and hey, we can like, I

can buy that thing because I've killed that boss and yes, we
9:30
only killed it once, but at least I can now get get that
9:33
item. So that that helps like teams

that are in that sort of situation that are doing the
9:37
extent and they're sort of like stuck in between trying to to
9:40
figure it out. I think that if you are somebody

who who is setting up your alt spec or your second gear gear

spec where it's like, OK, this is good for this one and this is

good for another one. But like it hasn't dropped
9:58
enough that I've gotten everything from the this boss

that helps too. It also helps concentrate teams

where they're like, OK, well, only Kirk gets an upgrade from

this one one boss. So yeah, that's not the most

efficient use of our time. And now Kirk isn't so out to

lunch because he can spend his puzzling cartel chips to get
10:25
that item and then nobody needs needs that boss.

So I think it helps in that way for the progression of

individual gear and for for team set up as well.

And so just to give the audience the the details of this week 1,

you're going to get a quest. When you complete that quest,

you're going to get three of the puzzling Cartel chips.

You then get one chip per week in the subsequent weeks until

you get a maximum of nine and you need three of them to

purchase something. So you're looking at next week

when this goes live and you do the quest, that's one purchase

there. Then on week 4 after you build
11:09
up to get another three, that's going to be another one.

And then the last one is going to be on week 7.

So we're already saying like, OK, this is something that's

going to be like, hey, I'm going to be purchasing stuff over the

course of the next seven weeks, right.

And so that's that's sort of the the current timeline for this.

And I also think that if you are somebody who is, I'd say you're

in a team like Euroslex or AOTC and you also push through Mythic

plus. I would say that heroic Mugsy

and the last couple of bosses versus a 12 are very similar.

I would say that mythic is actually I had a higher

difficulty than the current keystone dungeons.

Mythic rating is higher than mythic plus, if I had to put it

another way. So there there's a reason that

that you might be like, OK, well, let me go do that 12 push

and try and get get my resilience of all doing all

twelves. And then you can get some really

good trinkets that could push you through and get your and

help your team get to AOTC. So there's there's reasons

there, see. I don't think it's ever a bad

thing to do bad luck protection in general, right and to give

opportunities, especially in the middle of the season when if

team, you know, our team is is a little we had a little bit of a

wall on dally Wicks. We're hoping to get them down

this week, but you know, when the walls start to feel bad

because people are kind of starting to lose interest.

And that's yeah, like I, I think it's valid to be like, all

right, now is the time. Let's make it a little bit

easier for people to keep going. Let's give them a little extra

gear. Let's just allow things to keep

moving smoothly so that people aren't feeling frustrated

because frustration in mid tier is when you start to get people

dropping and and you know, quitting and taking breaks and

stepping back. Yeah, now that covers the rating

that covers the the Mythic Plus, but there's additional stuff

that's going to be coming with this as well.

Professions are getting a new item that boosts the level of

items by 6. So if you are somebody who's got

some crafted gear next week, you'll be able to push that even

higher. That means that a heroic track,

instead of being 6, is going to be 8, and a mythic track is also

going to have 8 levels of upgrade, which means crafted

gear could be the highest item level with these augmentation

matrixes. And with PvP gear, they're not

leaving that out. There's not suddenly that the

item level of PvP gear is just going to be too low.

They're going to add in another again, turbo boost, adding in

those six levels. So when you have like something

that is let's say conquest gear I think is the highest at 678,

you can now add on that six item levels.

That's going to be put into this and that's going to put PvP

going all the way up to 684 item level.

with Illyria and Locust Walker in Legion and you head into the

Shadow Lands to meet the brokers and gain access to Tazewash and

you meet up with Fenari and it it's sort of exploring that

faction. I find it really strange that

they are, I don't like, I can't even say conflating because they

are flat out putting the brokers and the ethereals in the same

bucket. And I didn't know that they were

connected. I thought they were, they were

similar, but I didn't know they were fully connected.

So there's that one. There is a Zalitath storyline

where you learn more about the Black Empire and Xalatas

dealings with, with or against the the Black Empire and her

encounter with the old gods and everything that's already being

But I've always been very jealous of everyone who's

getting all the fun new classic lore that I'm too scared to do

because classic is hard. And so this would also be a way

if they do want to make you like give you opportunities to

experience storylines in a different way in classic, to

also bring the critical information or even to put

critical information in classic without worrying about like all

of the retail players, you know, throwing a whole fit.

They don't get it because they could get it within lore

blocking. And there's also a lot of lore

in World of Warcraft. Like this is something I think

I've said a few times. I have not even all of the World

of Warcraft books, and there's a lot of them.

So I think having opportunities for new players to kind of get

the important bits and and learn sort of, oh, here's the big

stuff you missed if you weren't playing here or if you have

forgotten over the last two decades what happened here, like

the the nitty gritty, a way to kind of reintroduce that and,

and make it interesting and make it exciting again.

Yeah, I, I think that's very true that like, we've got all of

this lore over the course of 20 years of World of Warcraft.

And so a good way of being like, hey, this is what's relevant to

like the current end game. Let's make sure that people can

and the audience a bit of clarification, Season of

discovery, they've added in little bits of like, oh, that

And this is much the same where there is some of this stuff that

So now you can go in as your warrior and play the role of of

But there's also new questing that is current questing

So we're going back to the Arathi Islands.

There was the free expansion short story where Thrall and

Jana had to deal with some stuff in in their Athey Highlands and

now that's relevant. It's bringing Farren to her

ancestral homeland and that interaction.

And that's great because Farren disappeared off the map after we

finished leveling and I'm glad to see her back.

The story differs if your Alliance or Horde.

So again, I'm really looking to play through this not just once,

but twice. I'd love to see the difference

leading towards the future, but maybe now a lot of people have
