- 4:03But that's exactly what we're talking to and we're talking about on this week's
- 4:06show. Here tonight to shed some light on women barbers is Blue Rain.
- 4:12Welcome Blue Hey, miss Diamond, Hey, how are you? I'm great,
- 4:23Thanks for having me here. All right, all right, all right,
- 4:26So we got a show tonight because we're gonna be talking all about the
- 4:29stuff that people are wondering about. But I'm gonna get right to it.
- 4:32Question why do women become barbers? I can't speak for all female barbers,
- 4:42but I became a barber because I was tired of the stigmatism that females can't
- 4:49cut men's hail. We can. I do, and I have two boys,
- 4:57and I was tired of paying the barber because you know, during COVID
- 5:03everything went out, all prices went out, and the influx of the cost
- 5:10of getting them hair cuts. I'm like, I could do that myself,
- 5:15you know, and I've been doing hair for ten plus years. So I
- 5:17was like, let me, let me get in on this. It's barbara,
- 5:23it's being a barber a gender neutral term or is there a female term
- 5:27for barbers? Bit well, all the saying, you know, it's not
- 5:33I wouldn't say it's not who we are, you know, the title,
- 5:39but it's what we do. We cut hair. We all cut hair.
- 5:43So I think that some maybe want to be called a barbera stylists, you
- 5:49know, fake king, fake queen. We all barbers at the end of
- 5:54the day. Okay, Now, so the word barber's unisex. I see
- 5:59some Barbara's use scissors while others use raises. Is there any connection between the
- 6:03scissors plan the raises or is it just an old fashioned word for hair stylus.
- 6:10Hold on, one thing is if you attend a barber school, they
- 6:15will tell you they're not don't use the term scissors. Scissors cuts paper,
- 6:20shears cut hairs. And you know, for the longest time, I'm like,
- 6:27I need I need a pass scissors, I need a pis scissors.
- 6:30These right here on my trusty, trusty gold shs and I've had these for
- 6:35the longest time. You know, you're not cutting paper like this. You're
- 6:40cutting paper like this. You know, you cutting hair like this. And
- 6:47it's a quiet feel to actually have to hold shears like this because you know
- 6:56you need that motion. But it comes, it becomes second nature. Should
- 7:00and just go with it. I thought it was a difference, but I
- 7:05know that you're also a hair stylist, and I've seen you hold them in
- 7:09that way, But I just thought it was what beauticians or cosmetologists do by
- 7:15holding the scissors that that object the object that way. Look, I'm a
- 7:21person that's not a hair stylust. Back in my day, we just did
- 7:25braiding up the air and that was it and we ain't have all of that
- 7:27extra stuff that was going on now. But I do notice that they do
- 7:30that, and I see that they're moving quick, and they're just like like
- 7:33like somebody would get you nice, They're just moving really quick. I never
- 7:38understood how they was able to hold the sideways and just be clipping away.
- 7:42And I guess that's right, because you know, scissors do cut paper,
- 7:46So I guess that's really accurate with what you're saying. So now when women
- 7:51go to get their hair style, they say they're going to the hairdresser or
- 7:55stylus and then say they're going to the barber. What's the difference between a
- 7:59BA barbera and a hairstops Okay, I also had to learn the difference because
- 8:03I'm like, I could do what they do. The difference in a barber
- 8:07and a hairstylist or cosmetologist. A barber has to have a license to use
- 8:15a straight razor on the skin, meaning shaves cosmetologists do not. Cosmetologists cannot
- 8:24legally use a straight razor on a person's skin or face, so that would
- 8:28be the legal h departure of a cosmetologist and a barber. Barbers like myself
- 8:39are able to use a straight razor on the skin, So you can do
- 8:43both. Because you do both, let me ask you this. I'm gonna
- 8:46sneak this one in there can a cosmetologist can do what a barber does,
- 8:52but a barber can't do what a cosmetologist does, except you can't use a
- 8:56razor as a cosmetology. Just right, it's kind of backwards. A barber's
- 9:01can do everything a cosmetologists can do, but the only thing a cosmetologists can't
- 9:07do is used the razors. So it's kind of flipped and everybody's like,
- 9:11oh, you know, I can do every Yes, you can, but
- 9:16legally your license can be revoked if cosmetologists it's seen using a straight razor on
- 9:24it. They can use a straight raisor to cut hair, but they cannot
- 9:28use it on a person's face or skin. Oh okay, Now this is
- 9:33something that's been on my mind for quite some time. What is the origin
- 9:37of the word barber? While a barber is called barbers when they cut here,
- 9:41shouldn't it be hand dressers instead of barbers? Barber comes from I believe.
- 9:48I don't know if it's Roman, Latin, Greek because it digs deep
- 9:52when you when you get into the the barber and book. But the term
- 9:58barb bay, I think it comes from. One of those origins is that
- 10:03it comes from the hair, meaning the beard barbee. So that's where the
- 10:09origin comes from. The barber's But the actual barber started out being surgeons.
- 10:16They weren't just cutting hair. They were actually I know, it's something that
- 10:22kind of throws everybody off, like how do they you know, cutting somebody
- 10:26open to, you know, cutting hair? But that's where I was about
- 10:31to ask, Yeah, I was gonna ask you the same question. How
- 10:35how was the correlation between a surgeon and a barber? But I don't know.
- 10:41I'm almost afraid to ask our barber pole. Everybody is used to seeing
- 10:48the red, white and blue, you know, that swirling outside of it.
- 10:52Used to be the old fashioned barber shops, but it's become a staple
- 10:56and all traditional barber shops would have a red white and blue pole. The
- 11:01red represents the blood. Back in the day, they used to do what's
- 11:07called blood letting, and they thought that by releasing toxic blood they would cure
- 11:11on the person. So that's where the red in the barber pole comes from.
- 11:16The blue was for the veins in the person because they would cut the
- 11:22vein open to let out the blood. And so I guess that's where the
- 11:26correlation between the surgeon and the barber comes from. Oh okay, I'm learning
- 11:31something here tonight. Look out now, I might you sitting in the classes.
- 11:35So why it swirls because everybody's like, well, why why didn't you
- 11:39just put red, white and blue, you know, like our American flag.
- 11:41The swirl is because they used to use the white is the bandage and
- 11:46they used to use that to wrap the person up after they let out their
- 11:50blood and they used to hang them out the dry and the wind would swirl
- 11:54them. So that's where we get the swirl from. So and you know,
- 11:58they would keep spinning. And that cap, the cap the two chrome
- 12:07pieces was the domes that they would use to hold the blood. The blood
- 12:11will be let out they hold onto the staff and the blood will be let
- 12:13out into those cups what they were domes back then. So yeah, I
- 12:22wonder how many barbers actually know. Well, I guess we could be a
- 12:28barber. You should know that, you should understand it. Then then what's
- 12:31the term for someone who shaves customers in a barbershop? The term that person
- 12:37shaves there? Barbara, Oh, well, the book tells us that they
- 12:43are tonsorial artists. Tonsorial will be like I said, I don't know if
- 12:50it's it will be the Romans how they used to have that. I guess
- 12:54they would call a chrome dome. Now they wouldn't have hair in the middle
- 12:58at the top of the dome. They would just have hair around the sides
- 13:01and edges. And that was called the taunts tour. So you everybody that's
- 13:07a barber knows this right here our holy grail. The book is about this
- 13:13thick This is my book, and it it when I say it's more about
- 13:18the history and and the origin of barbering. This book right here is definitely
- 13:24as thick as my mama's Bible. And this is our holy grail when it
- 13:28comes to being a barber. Is there any any growth prospect for a woman
- 13:35barber as far as as far as her growing in the business, like becoming
- 13:43a master barber or something like that. Do you see many women that are
- 13:46master barbers or is there another turn for it? No, that's exactly what
- 13:52it is. It's growing. It's it's not well known that females are master
- 13:58barbers, but we'll take over, so you know, watch out, guys,
- 14:01are you coming? But yeah, the female barbers are. Uh,
- 14:07it's definitely. You see more female barber's shop owners that actually all owner operators.
- 14:15So it's it wasn't a very wild, widespread known thing that you know,
- 14:22females cutting men's hair because we weren't allowed to. You know, we
- 14:26were only allowed to do female's head because what do we know about how a
- 14:31man wants his head cut? But it's a growing it's a growing thing now
- 14:37well with it growing about how much money can they make being a barber.
- 14:41I'm not trying to get into your pockets, but I just want to know,
- 14:43you know, I know muticians they're making that money. They're definitely making
- 14:48that money. And I know some barbers they think, yeah, I guess
- 14:50they're comfortable. You know. I'm not downgrading anybody as a barbered beautician or
- 14:54anything. I'm just saying it's their money to be made being a barber.
- 15:00Most definitely, the hair is always changing, you know, being in within
- 15:07this era and social media, there's always something changing and oh I have to
- 15:13get that cut that that rapp had at that concert or that music video.
- 15:18So and then the thing with men actually wanting to have longer hair now or
- 15:24hair out, and you know, joining in with our barber brothers and sisters
- 15:31who are a part of the lgbt QI a community, there's a broad range
- 15:37of how they want their hair styled. So a lot of them, you
- 15:41know, we cross paths with how they want their hair styled and who they
- 15:45want to style there. So it's it's a changing thing all the time.
- 15:52Aspiring authors magazine said there's a lot of money in it. So hey,
- 15:56you're saying it and and and magazine is saying, so I believe it.
- 16:00So what is the eligibility to apply for for barber course or barber school?
- 16:07Okay, one, you can pay out of pocket. They do accept checks.
- 16:11Make sure your account is straight so they concept that check. But they
- 16:15do accept checks. And there's there's some institutions that are are cash only,
- 16:23so you can you can only go through paying for it out of pocket.
- 16:27So how how old do you have to be to be to go to the
- 16:32school. You have to be uh seventeen with a high school diploma. If
- 16:38you are not, they require you to take a test when you get there,
- 16:44or to have your parents if you're under the age of eighteen, have
- 16:47your parents signed you in? But there's a test. Heard about the test?
- 16:51I think they call it the tape tests. Yes, that's doing your
- 16:56research. Yeah, I've done a little homework. I've done a little work
- 16:59before I came on. I ain't want to look like a complete person that
- 17:02didn't know anything. So Latania saying what a regular haircut's going for now,
- 17:07it depends on what you consider a regular haircut, because no haircut is regular
- 17:11nowadays. I would say my own prices. I can't. I can't speak
- 17:15for another barber's price. But starting off, a child's haircut will start at
- 17:21twenty five, and that's a regular or Caesar hair I know, I know.
- 17:26This is why I decided to start cutting in. We'll start between twenty
- 17:30five the thirty dollars, depending on exactly what they wanted done my son.
- 17:34Yeah. Off, this magazine is saying it twenty to thirty dollars. So
- 17:40I finished barbar in school. Now what do I become an apprentice in my
- 17:44license or in my a certified barber? Okay, so I recently just finished
- 17:51barber in school. About a month ago. I finished barbar in school.
- 17:53I am now a certified barber. So, you know, congrats, congrats
- 18:00Barbara, I have passed. What we have to take is what's called State
- 18:07Board and it's the generic way of taking our state board license. Your exam.
- 18:11It's two parts. One this theory, which is a part I just
- 18:15recently passed. You know, I freaked out about it a little bit,
- 18:19but I just recently passed my theory exam. That is the bookwork that's our
- 18:25holy grail that we studied for and I passed that part. And then it's
- 18:29the practical part, which is where we have to express our skills to a
- 18:34proctor and they want to know the nitty gritty and everything you learned for those
- 18:41twelve hundred hours. Yeah, it's twelve hundred hours to get your license.
- 18:47Well, it be certified. Patrise says first that wow, long hair on
- 18:52men, And she said, let me get on this. Can we say
- 18:56another income? So that's like another income for but then some I guess it
- 19:00could be their main income, their primary A lot of them, a lot
- 19:06of the there weren't a lot of females, I'll say in my barber in
- 19:11class, but they are all more now and that is a lot of their
- 19:15second incomes, a lot of their second incomes because a lot of them are
- 19:22you know, they work in their own businesses. I know a lot of
- 19:26other business owners. One has a hat company. Instructors my instructor. In
- 19:32fact, I was actually his class meet and I went back after I had
- 19:37my baby. I went back and I was like, you know, I'm
- 19:41going in the class, well, who's my instructor. And I'm like,
- 19:47hey, who's our instructor? And he was like, I like you to
- 19:49have a seat. And I was like, you can't tell me what to
- 19:52do. He was like, yes, I get me. He put his
- 19:53barber you know they instructor jacket and I was like, oh my goodness.
- 19:57Like yeah, So it's a secondary to a lot of people. But Barbara
- 20:03and I mean, if your price, if your clientele is is that you
- 20:07have plenty of clientele, more than fifteen clients, then yeah, it can
- 20:12be a primary source of income for those who want to be a barber but
- 20:18they can't afford it. Are their free barber in schools? I wouldn't say
- 20:22it's free, but they do have financial aid and that has been a big
- 20:26help to a lot of my barber and brothers and sisters that have gone through
- 20:30the program with me. Financial aid it's definitely there, and it's well,
- 20:36it welcomes, you know, to those and there are scholarships, There are
- 20:41grants that are out there and available for plenty of people. Just shoot for
- 20:47it, you know, ask questions, call, do your research. And
- 20:52Google has helped a lot of people when it comes to the financing of attendance
- 20:56school. Well, we're gonna cut to a commercial right now. We're gonna
- 21:02come back and we're gonna talk to Blue about a little bit more chopping it
- 21:04up and watering. Turn off the nags they can do tonight. I'm nothing.
- 21:37I'm imagine again. Let's take a shower shower together. I don't watch
- 21:52your pod. You watch my God neighbor, so my oil day saying turn
- 22:14off the come girl. I wanna give you a special treat. You're so
- 22:26sweet, churnel. We are back talking to Blue about women barbers and getting
- 22:38some tips on many things about being a barber and barber and question that I
- 22:45want to know. Well, there's a statement I want to make. There's
- 22:48times when I go into the barber shop with with my grandson or my son
- 22:52and the barber asked me what did they want. I'm standing there like,
- 22:56you know, just take something off here and take some off these have no
- 23:00idea what I'm talking about, or give me something like what he got.
- 23:03And I'm always pointing to somebody in there that it looks nice, or they
- 23:07have these big pictures on the wall and I'm saying, give me a number.
- 23:11I have no idea. How do we talk to the barber? What
- 23:14is the lingo? Is their lingo for talking to barber's. Now going into
- 23:18the beauty Paul, it is different. I can say, you know,
- 23:21give me this, give me that relax of person curl. I know that.
- 23:26But when it's time to go in there, I don't hate going into
- 23:29the barber's, but I am so confused. I can say, just give
- 23:32my ball head and then it'll be ball ball and I'm like, I know
- 23:40if I'm like, yeah, that looks good, Jesus, you don't want
- 23:44to go just give me a ball because you look it's not so I'm not
- 23:48too concerned. But how do I speak the lingo of my barber when I'm
- 23:52telling them how I want their hair to be cut x X? The barber,
- 23:57yeah, bubber alight. Since Barbara, one that's well experienced, shouldn't
- 24:03know. You know that you don't want to give your six year old a
- 24:07ball head and you know they they'll ask you, you know, do you
- 24:12want it this low? How short? Do you want it? They'll they'll
- 24:18teach you to lingo and try to stick with that one barber. You don't
- 24:22want to be bouncing from Barbara to Barbara. I've seen that done. And
- 24:25that's when you know, you hear somebody say, oh, they pushed my
- 24:27lineback and they talk about their hairline. He pushed my lineback because you've bounced
- 24:33from Barbara to barber. So the barbers will teach you, and you know
- 24:37they'll educate that. We're taught to educate our customers. As you know,
- 24:41we get to know them to pretty soon you can just go into your barber
- 24:45and you know they like you know, you know what I like, and
- 24:48they'll know because my son knows you know he wants that crispy shape up in
- 24:53a line, and he'll show you where he wants a line. So so
- 25:00what's the common request in the barbershop? What is the what is the thing
- 25:03that most people are coming in there for? Number one thing now is the
- 25:10fades are in right now, fades. And I've done enough to know that
- 25:15I don't want to do fades, So the fade is definitely in right now.
- 25:22Yea. As a woman, Barbara, what do you think is the
- 25:25most important fact that when choosing a barber, go with you know, talk
- 25:34talk to him. Go with somebody that's I'm not talking about myself, because
- 25:40even though I've just recently became a barber, I've been doing half it,
- 25:45like I said, ten place years. But don't go with the one that
- 25:48you know just recently got out. And I'm not talking about jail. I'm
- 25:52talking about school. Don't go with them exec execy their portfolio. Nook.
- 25:57Now I'm gonna cut you up there. There's brothers and some sisters that just
- 26:02came out of being away at college, I'll say, being away, and
- 26:07they can cut some hair because they do here in there and and I think
- 26:10they have some classes in there, So don't don't push them to the side
- 26:14because they're coming out and they're pretty swift with the the blades, i'll call
- 26:17them, so you guys have your own lingo. I'll call them my freshman
- 26:19self. The blades. They're they're pretty good. Yeah, pretty good.
- 26:23I've I've I've been in class actually, but they know how to cut.
- 26:30They are very good at cutting, but they don't have the theological part of
- 26:36it. And that's because they didn't study that book, the holy grail of
- 26:40knowing you know, sanitation and the cleanliness that goes behind it, the chemicals
- 26:45that they cannot mix, you know, the degrees and steps of sanitation and
- 26:52disaffecting and cleaning, you know, sanitation versus cleaning, cleaning something and and
- 26:57having that. So I would go with somebody that's been in a barber shop
- 27:03for more than two years because they've a barber. Did you hear does your
- 27:08hair? How do you think the barber? You know, he just did
- 27:11something really nice for me? How do you think the barber? Okay,
- 27:15so we would say the biggest thing you could give us is a tip.
- 27:21But me, cash is always good, you know, it's accepted worldwide.
- 27:26But a referral. A referral is always the greatest compliment and tip you can
- 27:33give to your barbers. I don't know how many people have said and come
- 27:37back to me at my school and said, oh, I want Blue to
- 27:41cut me, and it it kind of, you know, pull my heart
- 27:44strings a little bit. And I'm like, they asked for me by name,
- 27:48and they're like, yeah, we want it's want with the blue hair.
- 27:51And I'm like, oh, yes, like that, that's a client
- 27:53in the bag, you know, because if they felt good enough about their
- 27:57cut to tell somebody else to go to you, then that's two clients,
- 28:03not just one. So and then they'll keep going on. And that's how
- 28:06you can build your repertoire with having clients come in. Author Author's magazine says
- 28:14tips and referrals, so I guess always referrals. It is. How do
- 28:18you stay up with the how do you keep up with the latest styles and
- 28:22trends. Oh, I'm I'm researching everything. I'm on the blogs, I'm
- 28:30watching I try not to watch the Ratchet TV, but I'll watch it and
- 28:36you know who's doing what and where and how they stout. Like the met
- 28:40Galla that was a huge thing with not just offense. I was watching who
- 28:45was coming in with their hair pieces and how the cuts were coming in,
- 28:48and that's why I said, fades are definitely back, Like, that's that's
- 28:53what's going on, kiddn't play, wasn't the only one is rocking the pace?
- 28:56They definitely come back. So this is saying that the customer is always
- 29:02right. So you give your you give your client what they ask for,
- 29:07but they're dissatisfied with your service. How do you handle it? Okay,
- 29:11the customer is always right because you gave them what they act for. What
- 29:18should be done is you give them what they need, and it's you suggest.
- 29:22That's how you. Yeah suggest, You suggest what they should have.
- 29:26What do you think will be more appealing to their face shape, their head
- 29:30shape, and you show them. You educate the customer because a lot of
- 29:34people come in and say, can you give me this, and they're showing
- 29:37you a picture and you know the person's head is long and blond or something
- 29:44like maybe your head's currently and course and it's short. So I can't give
- 29:49you this, but I can give you this, and this is how you
- 29:52know I'm I'm telling you this is this is what's going to work for you
- 29:56and you suggest it, so then that time they come, they'll they'll I
- 30:03think they'll be of it. What would you do if a if a client
- 30:07came in and had an allergic reaction to the dyet that you used in the
- 30:11hair. Oh, that's happened. First things first is no client should be
- 30:18serviced with the color as soon as they as a walk in or anything else.
- 30:22We have what's called a client record card and they fill those out and
- 30:26we do what's called a patch test where we placed the product the color that
- 30:32they desired behind the air or in the in the elbow, and we tell
- 30:34them to come back with them forty eight hours. Within those forty eight hours,
- 30:38if they have of allergic reaction, any rash or itchiness or blisters or
- 30:45anything, then we tell them that we can't use this product on you,
- 30:49and you refer them to their physician for that allergic reaction. For a physician
- 30:56would be able to tell them, you know what products because a lot of
- 31:00a lot of the medals and stuff in the dies and some people could be
- 31:03allergic to it. So we just you tell them and we tell them at
- 31:07this time, we can't perform that color service on you. You need to
- 31:11get in contact with your physician. So how would you address a client who
- 31:15wants a hear style you believe would not suit them that, you know,
- 31:18cause I don't think everybody can wear and be hear style everybody else. Some
- 31:22people want to look like you know, they want to hear looking like Beyonce,
- 31:26or they may want to hear looking like somebody else and they're just not
- 31:30gonna work for them. What do you do in that case? Well,
- 31:37I have well now in the new age. We couldn't do it back back
- 31:41when I was younger and getting my head style. We have this thing called
- 31:45AI now and we can take a picture of the client and show them what
- 31:49they would look like with that hairstyle and none and a half times out of
- 31:55ten they'd be like, oh no, can I get something else? So
- 32:00we now we can show them all. If that isn't because everybody doesn't have
- 32:04that type of software, you can suggest something else and you educate. It's
- 32:09always about educating the client and letting them know you know what desired look would
- 32:15be best for them with their face shape and head shape. Okay, well,
- 32:21at least that's being honest, because some will some people will just go
- 32:24in there and say this is what they want and walk out with what they
- 32:29want and they look look like something else. So let's talk. Do you,
- 32:37he addresses in barbers secretly judge people? Do you don't judge people when
- 32:42they you know, coming in and or even leaving? Do you don't judge
- 32:45the coming Tell me it's just the two of us. From that, I
- 32:49got a feeling that I know what the answer is going to be. But
- 32:51before you answer that question, Latanya says, how often do clients claim they
- 32:54aren't satisfied just to get out of paint? Oh that's a good one.
- 33:00Okay, I'm gonna say this. A client can't get out of paying me
- 33:05because I require a deposit. So I require a deposit, and that's before
- 33:12the depositor is required upon booking. So in order to get your time slot,
- 33:16and I know that at three o'clock, you know, we'll say miss
- 33:21Letanian is coming in to see me at three o'clock, I'm gonna need my
- 33:24you know, percentage of whatever service you're receiving, because that guarantees that you're
- 33:30gonna come in and I'll be available. I'm not gonna have anybody sitting in
- 33:32my chair. I'm not gonna have you waiting because the majority of the time,
- 33:36that's why we take ten years in the shop or a salon, because
- 33:40you're waiting for my two thirty to be done when your slot was at three
- 33:45o'clock. So they do that often, very often. Oh, you didn't
- 33:51do this right. This is not the color I wanted. You messed up
- 33:54my line right here. And it happens quite often. And I say that
- 34:00that deposit is everything. Get your deposit because it ensures that you know,
- 34:07you get your money. They don't want to pay the up to have you
- 34:09make sure that that deposit covers your time because at that point, it's about
- 34:15my time I'm spending when I could have had somebody come in at your time
- 34:21that's paid and knows exactly what they want and it's okay with the service that
- 34:25they've requested. Okay, so let's get back to that other question. Do
- 34:31you judge people? I wasn't gonna forget. I just want you to address
- 34:37the times question. Do you judge? Yes and no? I say yes.
- 34:45I say yes because if somebody's coming in and they have had a length
- 34:51of eve, unless you want to weave, I can't make you look like
- 34:54Beyonce in twenty minutes that you in my chair, or you know you want
- 34:59that cut like Drake Hass, but your hair, you know, look like
- 35:02little Wayne. We I'm going to judge, like why did that person one
- 35:07day? You know that's not gonna look right? Who did he see?
- 35:09Who told him that was gonna look good? And we judge, But never
- 35:14to the client though, you know, it's the barbershop. Never never,
- 35:19never, never to the client. Let's you want to lose the client,
- 35:22you'll talk about us behind our backs. In other words, you'll talk about
- 35:24us behind your back. We'll say behind the chair. You're not jud you're
- 35:28not talking to them. Well, actually going not behind their back, it's
- 35:35in front of our chair. After the client is gone, they're not coming
- 35:38back in. You know, we're sitting in our chairs at the end of
- 35:42the day. We didn't sit on our feet for eight plus hours. And
- 35:45it's like, oh my goodness, see you see that say that had earlier
- 35:49he knows he shouldn't have got that high top fade. Did you listen?
- 35:52You know, so just the barbershop chatter. It's not nothing derogatory or offensive
- 36:00to the client, but we gave them what they wanted. You know,
- 36:05it's always the triangle will say, and it's good. I thank you so
- 36:12much for giving us tips and letting me know a little bit of the lingo
- 36:15and what to expect when I go in there to take my grandson and mine.
- 36:17Well, you know what, I don't even have to take my grandson
- 36:21and my son into the barber any into the barbershop anymore because I have a
- 36:23female barber in my family, So now I can get my barber, personal
- 36:30barber to cut their hair. So I want to thank you, my guests
- 36:32blue barbering. A barber is a person whose occupation is to cut, dress,
- 36:39groom, and style your hair. A barber's place of work is known

- 37:00choosing your barber. The barber's portfolio is where it's at, so it shouldn't
- 37:05matter whether your barber is male or female. Focus on the barber's experience and
