- 0:27SPEAKER_04: It's caddy taker.
- 0:30SPEAKER_04: I'm ready.
- 0:32SPEAKER_04: I love that.
- 0:33SPEAKER_04: Thanks so much for having me.
- 0:35SPEAKER_04: That was great.
- 0:35SPEAKER_04: I am so excited about this movie.
- 0:37SPEAKER_01: Yeah?
- 0:38SPEAKER_04: I've told you about that.
- 0:39SPEAKER_04: I've said that about twelve times already.
- 0:41SPEAKER_01: Also, this is I we were talking about this.
- 0:43SPEAKER_01: You were saying like are any people like have any people come up with like unexpected movies?
- 0:47SPEAKER_01: This is unexpected for you.
- 0:49SPEAKER_04: Oh, well, tell me why.
- 0:50SPEAKER_04: I don't know.
- 0:50SPEAKER_01: It's not a movie that I thought.
- 0:52SPEAKER_01: I wouldn't have expected you to go with a kids' movie for some reason.
- 0:54SPEAKER_04: Oh yeah, no, but now you see like what would you have expected me to go for?
- 0:58SPEAKER_04: Like a clueless or something?
- 1:00SPEAKER_01: Mmm.
- 1:02SPEAKER_01: I mean, it feels obvious, but like maybe like a musical.
- 1:05SPEAKER_04: A musical?
- 1:07SPEAKER_04: To be fair, when you were saying the thing is, is that like I actually think I have quite a bad taste in films.
- 1:12SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 1:13SPEAKER_04: Like I love Gladiator, is like my favourite film.
- 1:16SPEAKER_01: Okay, but that's pretty well loved.
- 1:17SPEAKER_04: It is well loved, but it in like quite a toxic way.
- 1:20SPEAKER_04: Do you know it's a toxic bro film?
- 1:22SPEAKER_01: Yeah, but that's not you.
- 1:23SPEAKER_04: But I'm not toxic bro, but but I love it for toxic bro reasons.
- 1:26SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:26SPEAKER_04: And like I really can't emphasize that enough.
- 1:28SPEAKER_04: Like I I really love it for all the wrong things.
- 1:31SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 1:31SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 1:32SPEAKER_04: And I yeah, it's like top, top, top up there.
- 1:35SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 1:35SPEAKER_04: Which is kind of so I don't know if I can be trusted.
- 1:38SPEAKER_01: What did you think of the second one?
- 1:41SPEAKER_04: That was it was so bad.
- 1:43SPEAKER_04: I actually felt like I can I also just caveat this with often, you know, you get taken onto like comedy podcasts and you're talk, you have to talk about like comedy.
- 1:52SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:53SPEAKER_04: And I've got nothing to say.
- 1:55SPEAKER_04: But on the way here, I was like, I actually have so many opinions about things I've watched.
- 2:00SPEAKER_04: Because I love going to the movies.
- 2:01SPEAKER_04: It's my favorite thing in the world.
- 2:02SPEAKER_04: I prefer actually, I'm afraid to say, to going to comedy shows.
- 2:05SPEAKER_01: I mean, yeah, it's a nice, it's a nice way to relax after doing comedy.
- 2:08SPEAKER_04: Yeah, and you can sit in a dark room and then just like disassociate for ages.
- 2:12SPEAKER_04: Yeah, literally.
- 2:13SPEAKER_04: What I've apparently been looking for for my time.
- 2:16SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 2:16SPEAKER_04: But I I feel as well.
- 2:18SPEAKER_04: I have so I feel, you know, when you have like such a strong reaction to movie, that movie I actually saw in iMac, which is embarrassing, yeah, Gladiator 2.
- 2:26SPEAKER_04: And I was so I'm about to say something more, even more toxic right now.
- 2:30SPEAKER_04: Okay, so clip it up.
- 2:32SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 2:32SPEAKER_04: I think, and we had a huge debate about this with my housemates because we were trying to understand what went wrong there.
- 2:37SPEAKER_04: I mean, Ridley is clearly too old.
- 2:40SPEAKER_04: He is making crazy choices.
- 2:42SPEAKER_04: He is, yeah.
- 2:42SPEAKER_04: He was making crazy choices.
- 2:43SPEAKER_04: They they also, as a purist of the first film, there are so many things that they that they just kind of forgot.
- 2:50SPEAKER_04: Right.
- 2:51SPEAKER_04: Like they it just I I could go on for days, but I will put it on my letterbox.
- 2:55SPEAKER_04: Of like all of the kind of weirdness that that was meant to carry on from the first film and then like the kid and all of it doesn't make any sense anyway.
- 3:03SPEAKER_04: But the the also we were trying to figure out like what Paul Mescal's problem, like, was why was he miscast in it?
- 3:09SPEAKER_04: I don't know what your view is.
- 3:11SPEAKER_01: I've not seen it, but all I've heard is how miscast he is.
- 3:14SPEAKER_04: So miscast.
- 3:15SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 3:15SPEAKER_04: And I think it's because I'm afraid to say that he isn't quite like not masculine enough, but in in like that again, that like very toxic Russell Crowe way.
- 3:27SPEAKER_04: Yeah, there are actually very few guys that are which is probably a good thing.
- 3:30SPEAKER_04: It is a good thing.
- 3:32SPEAKER_04: There are very few like male actors that are like that anymore.
- 3:35SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I think that are this real, quite sort of like men or be men, which is a good thing, but for those kind of roles, you he was sort of like soft boy, soft boy gladiator.
- 3:48SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it doesn't fit.
- 3:49SPEAKER_01: It doesn't fit.
- 3:50SPEAKER_01: But also, do you know why he was cast?
- 3:52SPEAKER_04: No.
- 3:53SPEAKER_01: So Ridley Scott saw him in normal people and decided, oh yeah, this is the guy.
- 3:57SPEAKER_04: I mean, that's then a Ridley issue.
- 3:59SPEAKER_04: It's Ridley Scott's issue.
- 4:01SPEAKER_04: That's crazy.
- 4:02SPEAKER_01: And then later on, Ridley Scott was like, apparently, like apparently Ridley Scott didn't cast him in his next was originally cast him in his next movie, but then took him out of it because he was so angry with how the performance in Gladiator 2.
- 4:15SPEAKER_01: And it's like, well, no, that was your fault.
- 4:17SPEAKER_04: I've seen him bitch about it, which I actually feel bad for Paul Mess, because I'm like, can you imagine like Ridley is is miscast you and this then turning on you being this guy tanked my movie?
- 4:26SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 4:26SPEAKER_04: I do feel bad for him with that.
- 4:27SPEAKER_04: But it's I've seen him bitch about it and been like, Yeah, that guy, which is so unfair.
- 4:33SPEAKER_04: It is.
- 4:34SPEAKER_00: He's also a very good actor, so it's like I have no doubt.
- 4:37SPEAKER_00: He's so miscast.
- 4:38SPEAKER_00: Yeah, he's just miscast in it.
- 4:39SPEAKER_04: And I was it was bad though.
- 4:41SPEAKER_04: He was bad in it.
- 4:41SPEAKER_04: I'm so sorry to say he was bad.
- 4:43SPEAKER_04: And also like, God, there was one point where he did like a sort of like rousing speech and everyone in the IMAX was laughing.
- 4:50SPEAKER_04: Oh no.
- 4:51SPEAKER_04: It was properly, people were properly losing it.
- 4:54SPEAKER_01: He doesn't seem like a leader.
- 4:56SPEAKER_04: Sorry to say it.
- 4:57SPEAKER_04: Well he's not a toxic man.
- 4:58SPEAKER_04: No, I think well he might be toxic, but maybe but not in the Russell Crowe way.
- 5:02SPEAKER_01: I mean it could be if the running away stuff.
- 5:05SPEAKER_04: Yeah, to be fair, then maybe he actually is quite toxic, but he in a very different way.
- 5:10SPEAKER_04: But not in like a kind of lead-me into battle way.
- 5:12SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 5:13SPEAKER_04: But he, yeah, that was a crap film.
- 5:15SPEAKER_04: I love the first one.
- 5:16SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 5:17SPEAKER_04: I think it's actually sorry to say, perfect movie.
- 5:19SPEAKER_01: It's a great movie.
- 5:20SPEAKER_01: It's a perfect movie.
- 5:22SPEAKER_01: I I have not seen it in a long time, but it was that movie like came out.
- 5:26SPEAKER_01: It's we it's weird because it came out at the time of like DVD when it was first started.
- 5:31SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 5:31SPEAKER_01: And it was the DVD they gave away with everything.
- 5:33SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 5:34SPEAKER_01: So that was the movie that every single person owns.
- 5:36SPEAKER_04: Everyone has it.
- 5:37SPEAKER_04: And everyone, I just I think when I watched it, I was in like, I was so young, I was like in year three.
- 5:42SPEAKER_04: Oh.
- 5:43SPEAKER_01: Which is way too young.
- 5:44SPEAKER_01: Way too young.
- 5:44SPEAKER_04: I know, way too young.
- 5:45SPEAKER_04: And it was really like violent.
- 5:46SPEAKER_04: And I think at that point it just imprinted on me in a way that I could never move on from.
- 5:50SPEAKER_04: Because I was like, this is amazing.
- 5:51SPEAKER_01: I think I was like 11, maybe.
- 5:53SPEAKER_01: Sad.
- 5:54SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 5:55SPEAKER_01: I was like still too young, but like just about, not in a kind of traumatic way.
- 6:00SPEAKER_01: I'd already seen The Exorcist at that point.
- 6:02SPEAKER_04: Oh wow.
- 6:02SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 6:03SPEAKER_04: God, that would have stayed with me.
- 6:04SPEAKER_01: That did stay with me.
- 6:05SPEAKER_04: Do you have movies that you're like you now have weird feelings about because you watched them when you were too young?
- 6:10SPEAKER_01: Um, yeah, the Exorcist is the one the one that stays with me.
- 6:15SPEAKER_01: Hellraiser.
- 6:17SPEAKER_07: Really?
- 6:17SPEAKER_01: Hellraiser.
- 6:18SPEAKER_07: Wow.
- 6:19SPEAKER_01: I got weird terror, like it just terrifies me.
- 6:22SPEAKER_01: Even like to this day, I think about it.
- 6:23SPEAKER_01: I'm like, that's so creepy.
- 6:24SPEAKER_04: It's weird.
- 6:25SPEAKER_04: But it also these things are scary.
- 6:26SPEAKER_04: Like, I remember I've been re-watching, which speaks to an unemployment that I would rather not care to admit.
- 6:32SPEAKER_04: Um, I've been re-watching Heroes.
- 6:33SPEAKER_04: Did you ever watch that?
- 6:34SPEAKER_04: Uh the first series.
- 6:35SPEAKER_04: Yeah, first first then it got really crap.
- 6:37SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 6:38SPEAKER_04: I'm still in the first series.
- 6:39SPEAKER_04: And I will say the signs are there that it was gonna get bad.
- 6:43SPEAKER_04: But it was, I was just like, I I kind of wanted to re-watch it.
- 6:46SPEAKER_04: And it is scary.
- 6:47SPEAKER_04: And I watched that when I was like in, yeah, it's kind of it's really gory.
- 6:50SPEAKER_04: Oh, and really like because I remember being so freaked out by it when I watched it.
- 6:55SPEAKER_04: I was so young, and I I was like so haunted by it.
- 6:58SPEAKER_04: And and I rewatched it, and I was like, this is quite scary, actually.
- 7:02SPEAKER_01: I think I was old enough for it not that.
- 7:03SPEAKER_04: And it really haunted me.
- 7:04SPEAKER_04: It really and then all the actors in it then forever like hung.
- 7:07SPEAKER_04: Luckily, they've actually, God bless, not been in a lot.
- 7:09SPEAKER_01: But every time I saw them again, I was like, Yeah, that's there was a point, like when they were in that, they were in everything, and then like nothing since really.
- 7:18SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I know.
- 7:18SPEAKER_04: We never saw Peter Petrelli again.
- 7:20SPEAKER_04: Where's he gone?
- 7:21SPEAKER_01: I don't even know who that is.
- 7:23SPEAKER_04: Yeah, we don't even know who that is.
- 7:25SPEAKER_04: I only know that because I'm apparently living in 2008.
- 7:29SPEAKER_01: I was so I was in I was in sixth form, and I remember this.
- 7:33SPEAKER_01: I remember like uh Heroes and Lost being the two things that Heroes Lost, Desperate Housewives were the th what the show.
- 7:43SPEAKER_06: Those are the sort of three different your three different friendship groups.
- 7:48SPEAKER_00: Desperate housewives.
- 7:49SPEAKER_00: Weirdly, it was the same friendship groups.
- 7:50SPEAKER_04: It's the same guy.
- 7:53SPEAKER_04: I never watched Lost, but I know people really ride hard for it.
- 7:57SPEAKER_01: Yeah, they do.
- 7:57SPEAKER_01: I really watch.
- 7:58SPEAKER_04: You think?
- 7:59SPEAKER_01: Yeah, because it really fell off.
- 8:00SPEAKER_04: It fell off.
- 8:00SPEAKER_04: I know that it got it got crazy.
- 8:02SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 8:02SPEAKER_04: I have never seen it, but I did.
- 8:05SPEAKER_04: There's like there's just certain shows that you just like never once you've once you missed the boat, yeah.
- 8:09SPEAKER_04: You're never.
- 8:10SPEAKER_01: This is the thing.
- 8:11SPEAKER_01: There's there there is no point going back to heroes if you've never seen it.
- 8:13SPEAKER_01: There's no point going back to it.
- 8:14SPEAKER_04: There's no point going back to heroes if you have seen it.
- 8:15SPEAKER_04: But yeah, here I am.
- 8:17SPEAKER_04: Like, I'm still going back.
- 8:20SPEAKER_04: I think there's something so comforting about watching something that you've already seen.
- 8:23SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 8:24SPEAKER_04: Also rewatching Gossip Girl.
- 8:25SPEAKER_01: Oh, okay.
- 8:26SPEAKER_04: But speaks to a impression.
- 8:30SPEAKER_01: I went back to the OC.
- 8:33SPEAKER_04: Now that's a show that I watched when I was way too young.
- 8:36SPEAKER_04: What a show.
- 8:38SPEAKER_04: I loved that.
- 8:39SPEAKER_04: That was great.
- 8:39SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I was a teenager and it was like perfect, perfect timing.
- 8:42SPEAKER_04: Perfect show.
- 8:43SPEAKER_04: It was it's also like the first show that I think did that like because it was quite intense.
- 8:49SPEAKER_01: It was very intense.
- 8:50SPEAKER_01: It was very intense.
- 8:51SPEAKER_04: Like people were getting shot all the time.
- 8:53SPEAKER_04: And I also remember like and like a lot of the issues are very heavy.
- 8:57SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 8:58SPEAKER_04: It's kind of like arrested if if arrested development was a drama.
- 9:02SPEAKER_04: Is it not?
- 9:02SPEAKER_01: Like I mean, it's the same area.
- 9:04SPEAKER_04: Yeah, it's it's it's if arrested development was a serious drama, that's yeah, that's the OC.
- 9:09SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 9:09SPEAKER_04: And and I remember like we had like friends in the OC.
- 9:15SPEAKER_04: And I remember we went to go visit them.
- 9:17SPEAKER_04: And me and my sister were like, oh my god, we're gonna live it.
- 9:21SPEAKER_04: We're gonna live it.
- 9:22SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 9:24SPEAKER_04: No, of course.
- 9:25SPEAKER_04: But it was really um yeah, it's really gone into my brain that show.
- 9:28SPEAKER_04: The like the and what you say as well, that iconic.
- 9:32SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 9:32SPEAKER_04: I mean, we'll never we'll never get past that.
- 9:36SPEAKER_04: The fact that people don't know it's from the OC as well.
- 9:37SPEAKER_01: I know that's how do they not know it's from the OC?
- 9:40SPEAKER_04: It's like you could never get past it.
- 9:42SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it was like one of the one of the early days of sketch going viral on the internet.
- 9:47SPEAKER_04: Yeah, it was yeah.
- 9:48SPEAKER_04: And you I what I love about that sketch as well is that you can imagine Andy Sandberg watching the OC when he was younger.
- 9:53SPEAKER_04: Oh yeah.
- 9:54SPEAKER_04: This is the craziest scene I have ever because I remember watching that scene and thinking I was like so upset when I watched that scene.
- 10:00SPEAKER_04: I was like, I can't believe Trey is dead.
- 10:02SPEAKER_04: I can't believe Marissa's killed Trey.
- 10:04SPEAKER_04: It was crazy.
- 10:05SPEAKER_04: And there's actually a gossip girl scene that I believe, and I have always believed has similar potential.
- 10:11SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 10:11SPEAKER_04: Which is um a scene where do you have you watched gossip girl?
- 10:16SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I've seen like bits and pieces.
- 10:17SPEAKER_01: I've never like actually watched a full episode.
- 10:18SPEAKER_04: You don't need to, it's crap.
- 10:20SPEAKER_04: But in a great way.
- 10:27SPEAKER_04: And then the kid gets the kid the kid kind of gets accused of doing coke, and then he goes, um he he basically like takes the fall for his dad.
- 10:36SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 10:36SPEAKER_04: And the song that they choose to play is that like that Mika song where it's like, is this the way you left me?
- 10:43SPEAKER_04: I'm not pretty sad.
- 10:44SPEAKER_04: And it's like he's like the mum is like holding up a bag of Coke, and then Nate's like, it's mine, and then they play that, it's so good, and it has it has the same absurd, it's really great.
- 10:58SPEAKER_06: Oh, yeah.
- 10:58SPEAKER_06: It's such a good scene.
- 10:59SPEAKER_06: I love it.
- 11:00SPEAKER_06: And I like I I rewatched it recently, and I was like, this is so funny.
- 11:04SPEAKER_05: It's great.
- 11:07SPEAKER_01: Everything about that show was just something that I was just like, this is not for me.
- 11:11SPEAKER_01: This is not a show for me.
- 11:12SPEAKER_00: This is not for show.
- 11:13SPEAKER_00: This is not for me.
- 11:14SPEAKER_04: I don't know who it was for though, because I mean, I I started watching it when I lived in Slovakia because it was the only thing that the girls in my class watched.
- 11:20SPEAKER_04: So I was like, I need to relate to them in some way.
- 11:23SPEAKER_04: They watched that and Vampire Diaries, so I was like, right.
- 11:26SPEAKER_04: And I was like doing it more as a sort of social experiment than I was because I liked it.
- 11:30SPEAKER_04: But it was um yeah, it was tough out there.
- 11:33SPEAKER_04: I know.
- 11:34SPEAKER_01: Having to watch two known bad shows.
- 11:38SPEAKER_04: Known bad shows back to back in Slovakia.
- 11:40SPEAKER_04: Yeah, that was the most two years of my life.
- 11:43SPEAKER_01: How old were you at this point?
- 11:44SPEAKER_04: Uh 15.
- 11:46SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 11:46SPEAKER_04: Oh 14, 15, 16 was a real.
- 11:49SPEAKER_04: We were watching a lot of TV.
- 11:50SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 11:51SPEAKER_04: I was watch I watched everything.
- 11:52SPEAKER_04: Anything that came out in that period of time, I watched it.
- 11:55SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 11:55SPEAKER_01: If I was there, I watched it.
- 11:57SPEAKER_01: This is this was me with movies.
- 11:58SPEAKER_01: Like anything that came out, I would watch.
- 12:00SPEAKER_01: And I would go back and watch all the old ones.
- 12:02SPEAKER_01: This is how I like got into everything.
- 12:04SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I was gonna say, so you're so you're not you're not a TV show head.
- 12:07SPEAKER_01: I am a little bit.
- 12:08SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 12:08SPEAKER_01: A little bit.
- 12:09SPEAKER_01: I know enough about each thing.
- 12:11SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I know enough about them.
- 12:12SPEAKER_01: I just haven't seen everything that's out there.
- 12:15SPEAKER_01: Yeah, that's out there for TV shows.
- 12:16SPEAKER_01: It's too much.
- 12:17SPEAKER_04: I know, it's too much.
- 12:18SPEAKER_01: Because it because the commitment is so much longer than a reasonable.
- 12:20SPEAKER_04: It's huge.
- 12:20SPEAKER_04: I I did a lot of legwork when I was a teenager, so luckily I've seen quite a lot of shows in a way that I could have had a hobby or a skill, and I could maybe be in a much different position as an adult.
- 12:32SPEAKER_04: But instead I watched all of the rest of Element like 90s.
- 12:35SPEAKER_01: Oh, yeah, I watched I watched the rest of Element constantly.
- 12:38unknown: Yeah.
- 12:39SPEAKER_06: It was that two seasons of it, so I was studying for myself.
- 12:41SPEAKER_01: This is the thing.
- 12:42SPEAKER_01: I realised how much comedy I watched back then.
- 12:44SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 12:44SPEAKER_01: Oh, of course, of course I got it.
- 12:46SPEAKER_01: Of course I love comedy.
- 12:47SPEAKER_01: Of course.
- 12:47SPEAKER_04: But it's weird because when I first started doing comedy, I I remember being like, oh, that's kind of random because I thought I wanted to do theatre.
- 12:53SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 12:53SPEAKER_04: And then I was like, but I've been watching comedy my entire life.
- 12:57SPEAKER_04: Like that's so much more than any of my friends.
- 13:00SPEAKER_04: I was always watching American comedy.
- 13:02SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 13:02SPEAKER_04: And like, and like that was my main thing with my friends was that we were relating over the fact that we'd like managed to, we were watching like The Office US or whatever, and like loving it when we were like 15.
- 13:13SPEAKER_04: And I remember discovering all of these shows and thinking that they were amazing.
- 13:17SPEAKER_04: And now being an adult, you just don't know it at that point, though, do you?
- 13:21SPEAKER_04: You just think it's but yeah.
- 13:22SPEAKER_04: And like even watching SNL, like I watched SNL so much when I was younger.
- 13:26SPEAKER_01: I used to torrent it.
- 13:27SPEAKER_01: Yeah, literally.
- 13:28SPEAKER_01: Like what was it?
- 13:29unknown: What was it?
- 13:30SPEAKER_01: As like a 14-year-old torrent torrenting SNL.
- 13:34SPEAKER_04: Torrenting?
- 13:35SPEAKER_04: I torrented so much American crap.
- 13:37SPEAKER_04: So much like, yeah, American, American comedy sitcoms.
- 13:41SPEAKER_04: It's a real I went through a real phase.
- 13:43SPEAKER_04: But it is weird that, isn't it?
- 13:44SPEAKER_04: Then you then you realize that it was always it was always that.
- 13:47SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 13:48SPEAKER_01: And it's also like, so what I found was that one of my so like weirdly, I went I then went to New York on a study abroad program in 2000.
- 14:00SPEAKER_01: So for my second year of uni.
- 14:01SPEAKER_05: Oh yeah.
- 14:03SPEAKER_01: Saw a friend do UCB comedy.
- 14:06SPEAKER_01: Which is the improv comedy theatre there run by Amy Polar.
- 14:10SPEAKER_01: And I was like, oh, this is great.
- 14:11SPEAKER_01: Didn't think about it for like maybe five years.
- 14:14SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 14:15SPEAKER_01: And then I was just like, why have I not thought about all I do is watch this stuff.
- 14:19SPEAKER_01: Why would I not go and do this?
- 14:20SPEAKER_04: Yeah, literally.
- 14:21SPEAKER_04: But it's weird as well, because I think sometimes with American stuff, it feels so separate.
- 14:26SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 14:26SPEAKER_04: And it feels so different.
- 14:27SPEAKER_04: I think it's less different now because there's more improv and character and weird stuff in London.
- 14:31SPEAKER_04: But I think at the time it felt like it was very English stuff was very like live at the Apollo.
- 14:35SPEAKER_04: Yes.
- 14:35SPEAKER_04: Or it was like sketch stuff.
- 14:37SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 14:38SPEAKER_04: It's like that felt so English.
- 14:40SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 14:41SPEAKER_04: Whereas also, to be fair, there was quite a lot of character stuff.
- 14:43SPEAKER_04: Like there was like Catherine Tate.
- 14:45SPEAKER_01: Yeah, there was Catherine Tate and I never associated that with which I didn't think about it.
- 14:49SPEAKER_01: No, I was just like, oh it's Catherine Tate.
- 14:51SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I just thought I didn't really think about sketch in that way.
- 14:54SPEAKER_04: Was there stuff you you more American or English?
- 14:57SPEAKER_01: More American.
- 14:58SPEAKER_01: I was way more into the American comedy back then.
- 15:00SPEAKER_04: Me too.
- 15:01SPEAKER_01: And then like I've gone back and watched like English stuff, but I've never I've never like fully got into like the English sketch comedy.
- 15:08SPEAKER_04: Yeah, me too.
- 15:10SPEAKER_04: I think it feels very because I didn't grow up here.
- 15:13SPEAKER_04: I think it felt more access like the American stuff felt more accessible.
- 15:16SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I don't know what it was for.
- 15:17SPEAKER_04: I don't know, yeah, I don't know.
- 15:18SPEAKER_04: Yeah, because you grew up here.
- 15:19SPEAKER_04: Yeah, yeah.
- 15:20SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 15:20SPEAKER_01: I literally grew up in London.
- 15:22SPEAKER_01: It makes no sense.
- 15:24SPEAKER_04: I don't yeah, I don't know what it was.
- 15:25SPEAKER_01: I had access to all sketches.
- 15:26SPEAKER_04: Yeah, you could watch all of it quite a lot easier than you could the American one.
- 15:30SPEAKER_04: That's so funny.
- 15:30SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I don't know what it is.
- 15:32SPEAKER_04: I think also like it felt quite.
- 15:34SPEAKER_04: I mean, there's so many classic sketch shows that I watch though.
- 15:37SPEAKER_04: Like the old stuff I watched with my dad, I really, really like associate those.
- 15:41SPEAKER_04: Like the Monty Pythons, like watching all of that stuff I associate with watching my dad with my dad.
- 15:46SPEAKER_04: But then like the stuff that was coming out, like I never watched Little Britain or anything like that.
- 15:50SPEAKER_04: It was never like my I did, and I didn't like it.
- 15:52SPEAKER_04: No, I found it ruining it.
- 15:53SPEAKER_01: My friends all loved it, and I was like, I don't get why this is funny.
- 15:56SPEAKER_01: I didn't get it.
- 15:57SPEAKER_01: And then then like years later, I'm like, oh, I I feel vindicated.
- 16:00SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I'm proud to say I didn't get it at the time, but I think it was more because like I didn't live in England and I thought I was like, this is weird English stuff.
- 16:08SPEAKER_04: I don't get it.
- 16:09SPEAKER_01: I never got into the Mighty Boosh.
- 16:10SPEAKER_04: I never got I did like the Mighty Boosh, actually.
- 16:12SPEAKER_01: I feel like if I went back and watched it now, but I at the time I was just like, I don't get it.
- 16:18SPEAKER_04: I didn't I I'm afraid to say at the time I didn't I didn't feel I didn't know that it was all so weird, kind of like in the little Britain way.
- 16:24SPEAKER_04: But it was I remember loving, I remember loving the Mighty Boosh because I think it was so weird.
- 16:29SPEAKER_04: I was like, Yeah, this is a crazy, it's crazy that they've I mean also the Mighty Boosh just so speaks to like the lack of comedy commissioning that exists now.
- 16:37SPEAKER_04: Oh yeah.
- 16:37SPEAKER_04: The fact that those two guys were were not only given a show, like they started on radio, yeah, yeah, but also the fact that they were given like it's a set, like it's a it's a built set.
- 16:49SPEAKER_04: It's crazy.
- 16:50SPEAKER_04: I like re-watching it, I was thinking about how whenever I have like meetings, they're always like, Oh, this is gonna be too expensive, and oh, will it work?
- 16:56SPEAKER_04: And it's like but they but that they were like that, they had no problems with in 2004, 2000.
- 17:02SPEAKER_04: They were like, this'll work, this is great.
- 17:04SPEAKER_04: It was that's it's such a huge swing.
- 17:07SPEAKER_04: And I mean it did have like a kind of cult following, but not in a huge way.
- 17:11SPEAKER_04: Like it was, yeah, I don't know, it's just kind of depressing because you're like, oh no, wish that they still made stuff like that.
- 17:15SPEAKER_01: That would be it'll be great now, yeah.
- 17:17SPEAKER_04: Great, so great.
- 17:19SPEAKER_04: All of the freaks have their shows, but a laugh.
- 17:22SPEAKER_01: There's so many people in the comp like in in the scene now that we know that would be like, oh yeah, this is perfect for every that would be so perfect for so many people.
- 17:29SPEAKER_01: To be in, yeah.
- 17:31SPEAKER_04: This is the thing as well.
- 17:31SPEAKER_04: Like, I think when you watch stuff, I was thinking about this the other day.
- 17:34SPEAKER_04: I was watching a new show that had come out, and so many of the side characters in it were like such famous, well-established people.
- 17:40SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 17:41SPEAKER_04: And I was like, but all of those characters should be played by freaks or like, you know, up and coming people.
- 17:47SPEAKER_04: But because of the way that the industry is, they're like sometimes the side characters are more famous than the main people in it.
- 17:53SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 17:53SPEAKER_04: And it's like, what are we doing?
- 17:56SPEAKER_04: Like, where do those where do people get their first break then?
- 17:58SPEAKER_04: It's so, it's so sad.
- 18:00SPEAKER_04: But I don't know.
- 18:01SPEAKER_01: I saw a thing about people complaining about Richard Curtis's new th uh Oh, I've not seen it.
- 18:06SPEAKER_01: He's got a new radio show on Radio 4.
- 18:08SPEAKER_04: Oh, I did see that, yeah, that yeah.
- 18:11SPEAKER_01: Why?
- 18:12SPEAKER_01: What and it's just all of people, it's all people of like his level of fame in it and everything.
- 18:17SPEAKER_01: And it's like, why are you commissioning that when there's so many people you could he doesn't need it.
- 18:22SPEAKER_04: I'm really interested to know what will happen when sadly those famous people do eventually like get to the point where they can't perform anymore.
- 18:29SPEAKER_04: What are the commissioners gonna do?
- 18:31SPEAKER_04: Because they clearly don't want to take a risk on anyone, but soon those people will not be able to be employed.
- 18:35SPEAKER_04: So what are they gonna do?
- 18:36SPEAKER_04: They are gonna have to employ us at some point.
- 18:39SPEAKER_04: They are gonna have to do it.
- 18:40SPEAKER_04: Yeah, unless they find some kind of loophole where they like ab a voyage all of the people that they love, and then everyone's gonna endlessly aboyaged and so.
- 18:49SPEAKER_01: Oh, it's gonna be an AI version of everyone.
- 18:51SPEAKER_01: Probably.
- 18:52SPEAKER_04: Great, I know, can't wait.
- 18:54SPEAKER_04: Right.
- 18:58SPEAKER_06: Depressing.
- 19:00SPEAKER_06: It's fine, it's fine, it's all good.
- 19:01SPEAKER_06: It's all good.
- 19:02SPEAKER_06: Movies, movies, it's good.
- 19:03SPEAKER_01: Well, um that this is actually one uh I was just thinking of it when you were talking earlier about your letterbox.
- 19:08SPEAKER_01: What is your letterbox top four if you have one?
- 19:11SPEAKER_04: Okay, it changes, but again, I can't be trusted, and I have a terrible taste.
- 19:15SPEAKER_01: I just wanna know I want to get a gauge for your taste.
- 19:17SPEAKER_04: I think, okay, if I'm true to myself, like I know that there are better movies that I technically love.
- 19:25SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 19:25SPEAKER_04: And I like as I've watched them when I'm older, but these are movies that just like had an impact.
- 19:29SPEAKER_01: That's what the four needs to be though.
- 19:31SPEAKER_04: Gladiator, because famously I love it.
- 19:33SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 19:33SPEAKER_04: The Prince of Egypt is I think also a perfect film.
- 19:38SPEAKER_01: It's a great movie.
- 19:39SPEAKER_04: I'm not religious in any capacity, but I it had such an impact on me as a child that I like my parents were like concerned how much I loved it.
- 19:50SPEAKER_04: It was really weird.
- 19:51SPEAKER_04: And I was like really attached to the old testament stuff.
- 19:54SPEAKER_04: Yeah, really weird.
- 19:55SPEAKER_04: Wow.
- 19:55SPEAKER_04: I don't know what that's about, but it's a go.
- 19:59SPEAKER_04: And then I really like Dead Poets Society.
- 20:02SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 20:02SPEAKER_04: It's one of my favourites.
- 20:07SPEAKER_07: And honestly, like I probably should take something that's like cool.
- 20:11SPEAKER_07: No, no, no.
- 20:12SPEAKER_07: Something.
- 20:14SPEAKER_07: I don't know.
- 20:16SPEAKER_07: What are you all for?
- 20:17SPEAKER_01: Give me your four and you not have a letterbox top four then.
- 20:20SPEAKER_01: No, no, no, no.
- 20:21SPEAKER_01: Oh right.
- 20:21SPEAKER_04: No, no, no, I don't I don't I do have a letterbox, but I don't I've not I've not yet committed to my branding yet.
- 20:29SPEAKER_01: Um It's hard.
- 20:33SPEAKER_01: So I I do have it.
- 20:34SPEAKER_04: What there's also nothing like oh, do you know what I love actually?
- 20:38SPEAKER_04: Maybe four is singing in the rain.
- 20:40SPEAKER_02: Oh, great.
- 20:41SPEAKER_04: I love singing in the rain.
- 20:43SPEAKER_04: And I feel like that sort of in some way makes up the disaster of the other three.
- 20:49SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 20:50SPEAKER_04: I think also the thing is this like Databox 4 is like are they movies that have shaped you or are they movies that have like are they like your I think these are like technically amazing movies.
- 21:01SPEAKER_01: Because that's a sort of different I I will say I tried not to do that and I feel like I have done that though.
- 21:06SPEAKER_04: What have we got?
- 21:08SPEAKER_01: So it's do the right thing.
- 21:10SPEAKER_04: Oh, I don't know that.
- 21:11SPEAKER_04: What is that?
- 21:11SPEAKER_01: It's this Spike Lee movie from the 80s.
- 21:13SPEAKER_04: Oh, see, this is already we're already it's cool, already it's even I've I've not heard of it.
- 21:19SPEAKER_01: It's it's so good.
- 21:20SPEAKER_01: It's all set across one day in in like this hottest day of summer in Brooklyn.
- 21:24SPEAKER_01: Oh nice.
- 21:25SPEAKER_01: And it's to do with like uh race and all of this stuff and like the and gentrification.
- 21:32SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 21:33SPEAKER_01: And put it in the 80s, and it's like so timely now.
- 21:36SPEAKER_04: Oh wow.
- 21:36SPEAKER_01: Really good.
- 21:37SPEAKER_04: That's so cool.
- 21:37SPEAKER_04: I'll put it on my list.
- 21:39SPEAKER_01: Um Lost in Translation, which oh again, another like but it's it's also like very Yeah, it's great.
- 21:46SPEAKER_04: It is quite fun, bro.
- 21:47SPEAKER_04: It is quite film, bro, but not in a bad way.
- 21:48SPEAKER_01: No.
- 21:49SPEAKER_01: Not in a bad way.
- 21:50SPEAKER_01: Inside Lewin Davis.
- 21:52SPEAKER_01: Oh, that's random.
- 21:53SPEAKER_01: Have you seen it?
- 21:54SPEAKER_04: I've never seen it, but I know I've heard of it.
- 21:55SPEAKER_01: I think you would enjoy it.
- 21:56SPEAKER_04: Oh, interesting.
- 21:56SPEAKER_04: Okay, it's on my list.
- 21:58SPEAKER_01: And then catch me if you can.
- 21:59SPEAKER_04: Great.
- 22:00SPEAKER_04: Movie, yeah, great movie.
- 22:01SPEAKER_04: Oh, Leo film.
- 22:02SPEAKER_04: Leo is like another one that I just I do unfortunately love.
- 22:06SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 22:06SPEAKER_04: I still love him.
- 22:07SPEAKER_04: I still love him.
- 22:08SPEAKER_04: Interesting.
- 22:09SPEAKER_01: And then I did have there was one point where I had Groundhog Day on there.
- 22:12SPEAKER_04: I love Groundhog Day, actually.
- 22:14SPEAKER_04: That's a great movie.
- 22:15SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 22:15SPEAKER_01: Groundhog Day is a perfect script to me.
- 22:18SPEAKER_04: Yeah, it's a perfectly paced film.
- 22:20SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 22:21SPEAKER_04: I think my Letterboxd 4, I would say doesn't really reflect myself.
- 22:24SPEAKER_04: It like reflects my child maybe my childhood a little bit.
- 22:28SPEAKER_04: Whereas like I think now, I think it's hard to put modern movies in your Letterboxd 4 because even if I've seen it.
- 22:34SPEAKER_04: I don't want to put a modern one.
- 22:35SPEAKER_04: I know.
- 22:36SPEAKER_04: Because I don't, I mean, have you seen something recently in the cinema?
- 22:40SPEAKER_01: Um I haven't seen much in the cinema.
- 22:43SPEAKER_01: Really?
- 22:43SPEAKER_01: You're not you're not a cinema head?
- 22:44SPEAKER_01: No, I am.
- 22:45SPEAKER_01: You should have time.
- 22:46SPEAKER_01: You've got you've got a baby.
- 22:46SPEAKER_01: Yeah, you've got a baby.
- 22:48SPEAKER_01: We get to see something like once every maybe three months at the moment.
- 22:52SPEAKER_01: So the last movie the last the last two that I saw in the cinema were The Odyssey.
- 22:58SPEAKER_01: Oh, that was great.
- 22:59SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 23:00SPEAKER_01: That was great.
- 23:00SPEAKER_01: Obsession.
- 23:01SPEAKER_04: I have not seen it, but I heard it was good.
- 23:03SPEAKER_04: So good.
- 23:03SPEAKER_04: I heard it was good.
- 23:04SPEAKER_04: I like it.
- 23:05SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 23:06SPEAKER_01: We have to really take a chance.
- 23:07SPEAKER_01: We have to really go, like, okay, what is what it's actually gonna be good?
- 23:11unknown: Yeah.
- 23:11SPEAKER_06: You can't be taking chances on like on something that's got like a 3.4.
- 23:15SPEAKER_06: You can't be doing that.
- 23:16SPEAKER_06: That's so fair.
- 23:16SPEAKER_06: But in a way, that's good because it's expensive out there.
- 23:19SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 23:19SPEAKER_00: We're going to a lot of barbicon parent and baby screenings.
- 23:22SPEAKER_04: Oh, that's so cute.
- 23:24SPEAKER_00: So we saw the Odyssey, but like a three-hour movie.
- 23:26SPEAKER_01: With babies.
- 23:27SPEAKER_04: So people must have been going in and out with that baby.
- 23:30SPEAKER_01: I was not in the movie for the first hour.
- 23:33SPEAKER_01: I was outside trying to get her to sleep for the first hour of the movie.
- 23:37SPEAKER_06: And you still loved it then.
- 23:38SPEAKER_01: And my partner texts me, she's like, Oh, you're missing a great part.
- 23:41SPEAKER_01: And I'm like, thanks.
- 23:41SPEAKER_01: Great, yeah, amazing, fantastic.
- 23:44SPEAKER_01: Amazing.
- 23:44SPEAKER_04: Oh my god.
- 23:45SPEAKER_04: I mean, in theory, it's like an amazing idea.
- 23:48SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 23:48SPEAKER_04: But I there's also like a specific kind of torture to it.
- 23:51SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 23:52SPEAKER_04: Because you know that you are missing.
- 23:54SPEAKER_04: There's nothing like going to the toilet in the middle of a movie and knowing that you're probably going to miss the most important bit in it.
- 23:58SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 23:59SPEAKER_04: I always try and gauge.
- 24:00SPEAKER_04: I'm like, I wonder if things are going to get interesting now.
- 24:02SPEAKER_01: It's always the time where I leave.
- 24:03SPEAKER_01: So we saw, so we also saw the drama.
- 24:09SPEAKER_01: Parent and baby screen.
- 24:10SPEAKER_01: That was weirdly, the first one we took her to.
- 24:12SPEAKER_01: So it's the first movie she's ever seen is the drama.
- 24:14SPEAKER_05: The drama.
- 24:16SPEAKER_01: Which is crazy.
- 24:17SPEAKER_05: Age 24 kind of Zendea.
- 24:21SPEAKER_00: She's seen the drama, the invite, and the Odyssey.
- 24:25SPEAKER_04: Wow, she loves epics.
- 24:27SPEAKER_04: I like I liked the drama.
- 24:28SPEAKER_00: It's great.
- 24:29SPEAKER_04: I thought it was great.
- 24:30SPEAKER_04: I thought they were really good together in it.
- 24:32SPEAKER_04: I really enjoyed it.
- 24:33SPEAKER_04: I thought it was a great film.
- 24:34SPEAKER_01: But what a dark thing to take her to.
- 24:36SPEAKER_04: Oh, yeah, to be fair.
- 24:36SPEAKER_04: Yeah, it is dark.
- 24:37SPEAKER_04: It is dark.
- 24:38SPEAKER_04: Luckily, she has no idea.
- 24:40SPEAKER_04: No.
- 24:40SPEAKER_04: She's got no idea.
- 24:41SPEAKER_01: And I was like, I was so ner not nervous, but I was like a little bit weary going in because I was like, is it gonna be screaming the entire time?
- 24:49SPEAKER_01: But it was actually fine.
- 24:50SPEAKER_01: But they've all been fine.
- 24:52SPEAKER_04: They all love Zendaya.
- 24:54SPEAKER_04: They love Zenda at Arpat.
- 24:55SPEAKER_04: So they're not gonna say that.
- 24:55SPEAKER_01: The babies, you just like kind of you either tune out the babies or you just kind of oh, they're like quiet.
- 25:00SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 25:01SPEAKER_01: It's really weird.
- 25:02SPEAKER_01: Oh the the good thing about the Odyssey was it's all on like a reduced volume as well, so they don't like scare the babies.
- 25:09SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 25:09SPEAKER_01: Because the Odyssey's so loud it was like reduced that it was like a normal level.
- 25:12SPEAKER_04: Ah, that's so interesting.
- 25:14SPEAKER_04: I was I was thinking of like I was doing like a that, you know, when you think about like ideas for like content or whatever, I was thinking like it'd be so funny to do something about all of the different like especially in those sort of like cool East London cinemas, all of the different types of screenings that they do.
- 25:29SPEAKER_04: Because I remember going to one where they had like a sort of like special for like a sleepover with the teenagers, and then there's like something for like mums and dogs, and then there's like kids and babies, and it's like all of these very specific It's very specific.
- 25:40SPEAKER_04: Increasingly specific groups of people who it's like all for like cyclists, and it's like everyone comes in like her, and it it's it's sort of very sweet, but increasingly I'm like that's a very niche market.
- 25:51SPEAKER_00: That's that's a really good skin.
- 25:52SPEAKER_04: That you're showing only to like and and I that's really funny, but only for old people or something.
- 25:58SPEAKER_00: Only for old people.
- 25:59SPEAKER_00: It's at four people.
- 26:01SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I I do love a like themed screening.
- 26:04SPEAKER_04: I remember one time, it's one of my favourite cinema experiences I've ever had.
- 26:08SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 26:08SPEAKER_04: I went to see Bridesmaids, great film.
- 26:09SPEAKER_04: Right.
- 26:10SPEAKER_04: Perfect film as well, I think.
- 26:11SPEAKER_01: Another perfect film.
- 26:12SPEAKER_01: Only Bridesmaids could go.
- 26:13SPEAKER_04: Yeah, yeah, literally.
- 26:14SPEAKER_04: And she um with my par my mum was like, Oh, there's a special ladies' night.
- 26:19SPEAKER_04: It's what they used to do it in Holland, where it was actually quite a good deal.
- 26:22SPEAKER_04: You'd never get this anymore because it was you'd got actually free things.
- 26:25SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 26:26SPEAKER_04: Where I don't usually for Holland because usually you don't really get free things there.
- 26:30SPEAKER_04: But at that time they did, and they did like a kind of this woman would like introduce the night.
- 26:34SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 26:34SPEAKER_04: They would do kind of like this sort of kind of like a cruise ship energy kind of giveaway thing at the beginning where they'd be like throwing things into the crowd.
- 26:43SPEAKER_04: You got like free drinks, free champagne.
- 26:44SPEAKER_04: There was like a little, a little like kind of canapase moment.
- 26:48SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 26:48SPEAKER_04: It was wild, and it was kind of like a massive hendo, and it was all for bridesmaids, and it was kind of electric.
- 26:55SPEAKER_04: It was one of the best experiences ever.
- 26:56SPEAKER_04: And then afterwards, there was a kind of like a holding part, like a party at the end.
- 27:01SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 27:01SPEAKER_04: And it you you ended up having this really strange, like bonding experience with the people in the cinema where you were like, we already went through something there.
- 27:09SPEAKER_04: Yeah, it was so good.
- 27:10SPEAKER_04: I've I want like more of that.
- 27:12SPEAKER_01: Have you done more of that?
- 27:13SPEAKER_01: Have you been to the Rocky Horror one?
- 27:14SPEAKER_04: Never, I've never seen Rocky Horror.
- 27:16SPEAKER_01: That's never seen it.
- 27:17SPEAKER_01: If you go and see it, that's how you gotta do it.
- 27:20SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 27:20SPEAKER_04: I think I need to that's the way to do it.
- 27:23SPEAKER_01: You've got to go in.
- 27:23SPEAKER_01: It's so fun.
- 27:24SPEAKER_04: Are you a Rocky Horror head?
- 27:26SPEAKER_01: Not Rocky Horror Horror Head, but I've been to see it twice at like a screening like that.
- 27:30SPEAKER_01: And it's so fun.
- 27:32SPEAKER_04: I've heard it's great.
- 27:32SPEAKER_04: I mean, we're doing for Halloween.
- 27:34SPEAKER_04: My housemates want to do a screening, and I've never seen it, so I don't even know what to wear.
- 27:37SPEAKER_04: I've got no idea.
- 27:38SPEAKER_04: I've I know so many different things you could wear.
- 27:40SPEAKER_04: But he's like, This could be crazy.
- 27:42SPEAKER_04: I could get it really wrong though, as well.
- 27:43SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 27:43SPEAKER_04: I've I've seen, I've known people that have gone to see like the room.
- 27:46SPEAKER_01: The room I've done I've seen the room screening.
- 27:48SPEAKER_01: I've seen it with him.
- 27:49SPEAKER_04: God, what was that like?
- 27:50SPEAKER_01: Insane.
- 27:51SPEAKER_01: God, absolutely insane.
- 27:53SPEAKER_01: He's so strange.
- 27:54SPEAKER_01: He's a strange guy.
- 27:55SPEAKER_01: He's such a strange person.
- 27:57SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I've seen it, I've seen it.
- 27:58SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 27:59SPEAKER_04: I've seen him.
- 28:00SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 28:00SPEAKER_04: I've seen the film that they made about him.
- 28:02SPEAKER_04: I mean, you know, everyone goes through a phase where like they're just they just really want to know more.
- 28:05SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 28:06SPEAKER_04: And it's it's kind of like a never-ending.
- 28:08SPEAKER_02: I read the book.
- 28:08SPEAKER_04: Yeah, you can't, because you can't ever get answered.
- 28:11SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 28:11SPEAKER_04: But there's all sorts of theories about the fact that he's like a gangster.
- 28:13SPEAKER_01: Oh, I think so.
- 28:14SPEAKER_01: There's some dodgy thing there.
- 28:15SPEAKER_04: Do you think having seen him in the flesh that there's something not right?
- 28:20SPEAKER_01: Not right.
- 28:20SPEAKER_01: There's something not right.
- 28:21SPEAKER_01: There's there's the weird, there is the weird thing about how he got it financed of like, do you know this?
- 28:26SPEAKER_04: No, I don't know.
- 28:27SPEAKER_01: So there's like some there's some like elderly woman that financed it for him, and they're all just like, how does he know her?
- 28:34SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 28:34SPEAKER_01: And some like random woman that had like loads of money that financed it for him.
- 28:40SPEAKER_01: Interesting.
- 28:40SPEAKER_01: It's like, what was he doing with her?
- 28:42SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 28:43SPEAKER_01: What was going on there?
- 28:44SPEAKER_04: What's going on there?
- 28:45SPEAKER_01: And it was like, was he, was he like a sugar baby to her?
- 28:49SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 28:50SPEAKER_04: God.
- 28:50SPEAKER_04: And also, like, I mean, it's it's comforting to know that those people may still exist, that there are possible benefactors out there.
- 29:00SPEAKER_04: But yeah, to benefactor, to be the benefactor of that movie, yeah.
- 29:04SPEAKER_01: A patron of the arts to the room.
- 29:06SPEAKER_01: It cost four million.
- 29:08SPEAKER_01: Because they filmed it on digital and on film.
- 29:12SPEAKER_07: On film?
- 29:13SPEAKER_07: They filmed it on film.
- 29:14SPEAKER_01: So there's two cameras, one on top of each other.
- 29:17SPEAKER_07: Oh my god.
- 29:18SPEAKER_01: And that's so there's like a digital version and a film version out there somewhere.
- 29:23SPEAKER_01: I don't know which one they used.
- 29:24SPEAKER_04: God, I've not seen that movie now.
- 29:25SPEAKER_04: I remember it being an insane experience.
- 29:27SPEAKER_01: It's so crazy.
- 29:28SPEAKER_04: What was it like watching it in what did people like really get like a bit hysterical?
- 29:33SPEAKER_01: Oh, yeah.
- 29:33SPEAKER_01: So like everyone brings plastic spoons and throws them.
- 29:37SPEAKER_01: And like everyone's yelling lines out.
- 29:39SPEAKER_01: It's really fun.
- 29:40SPEAKER_04: It's kind of sick.
- 29:40SPEAKER_04: I I honestly do love it.
- 29:42SPEAKER_01: It's like a cult.
- 29:42SPEAKER_04: It's kind of great.
- 29:44SPEAKER_04: I also think you you so it's so rare in modern in the modern world that you get experiences like that.
- 29:48SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 29:49SPEAKER_04: That when you do, there's something kind of beautiful about it.
- 29:51SPEAKER_04: I do love that.
- 29:52SPEAKER_01: That's why so it's very similar to the Bridesmaids experience of like everyone kind of connected.
- 29:56SPEAKER_01: Is it?
- 29:57SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 29:58SPEAKER_04: I love it.
- 29:59SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 29:59SPEAKER_01: That's that's at the Prince Charles cinema that's where they do that.
- 30:02SPEAKER_04: Maybe I need to go to the room screening.
- 30:04SPEAKER_04: I went to see Amelie at the Prince Charles recently.
- 30:06SPEAKER_01: Oh, nice.
- 30:07SPEAKER_01: That was really nice.
- 30:07SPEAKER_01: Is that just a normal screening of it?
- 30:08SPEAKER_04: It was a normal screening, but it was very, it was obviously full of like lots of cute people who like loved the movie.
- 30:15SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 30:16SPEAKER_04: It was really like it was like an in an afternoon.
- 30:19SPEAKER_04: Oh, nice.
- 30:19SPEAKER_04: On like a weekday.
- 30:21SPEAKER_04: Which is so full of loads of unemployed artists.
- 30:24SPEAKER_01: I haven't been there in a while.
- 30:26SPEAKER_04: It's so cute.
- 30:27SPEAKER_04: I love it there.
- 30:27SPEAKER_04: I think it's a good one.
- 30:28SPEAKER_04: I really hope they I need to get some more like autumnal screenings in.
- 30:31SPEAKER_01: Oh yeah.
- 30:31SPEAKER_04: I'm thinking like Lord of the Rings.
- 30:33SPEAKER_01: They do Lord of the Rings, they did the marathon there.
- 30:35SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 30:35SPEAKER_01: And I'm thinking the overnight one, which I'm I'm always like, that's a bit I don't know if I want to do an all overnight.
- 30:40SPEAKER_04: I think it's time.
- 30:41SPEAKER_04: I've done I did the Harry Potter Marathon when it came out.
- 30:44SPEAKER_04: No.
- 30:44SPEAKER_04: I did all of the films.
- 30:45SPEAKER_01: At the Prince Charles?
- 30:46SPEAKER_04: No, it was in Holland again.
- 30:48SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 30:48SPEAKER_04: And I did them all.
- 30:50SPEAKER_04: That's and it was absolutely crazy.
- 30:52SPEAKER_04: Yeah, because those are long as well.
- 30:54SPEAKER_04: Cinemas actually in Holland went so hard in in hindsight.
- 30:56SPEAKER_04: They really did so like they went crazy for events.
- 30:58SPEAKER_01: How long was that then?
- 30:59SPEAKER_01: Like for how long were you there for?
- 31:00SPEAKER_01: Like 15 hours?
- 31:02SPEAKER_04: Yeah, yeah, like a day, like two days, day and a half.
- 31:04SPEAKER_04: It was crazy.
- 31:05SPEAKER_04: No.
- 31:06SPEAKER_04: And but then you were get you it was sort of like it kind of felt like a prison experiment because you were given like walk times and like hydration breaks.
- 31:15SPEAKER_04: And you you were sort of then walked out by like the staff of this.
- 31:19SPEAKER_04: It was so and and by the end, by sort of midway through it, there's le it's less of a like, wow, this is so fun.
- 31:25SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 31:26SPEAKER_04: The novelty's gone.
- 31:27SPEAKER_04: And you are then just like you collectively think, like, what the hell are we doing?
- 31:31SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 31:32SPEAKER_01: But you're also like, I've gone so far that I can't leave.
- 31:34SPEAKER_04: I can't, I'm not gonna leave now.
- 31:35SPEAKER_04: I'm not gonna be the weakest person here.
- 31:37SPEAKER_04: I'm gonna keep going.
- 31:38SPEAKER_04: But also like you've seen all the movies a million times, like why we it was so it was so crazy.
- 31:43SPEAKER_04: I don't know why.
- 31:43SPEAKER_04: I but at the end of it, you did feel like this weird, this weird pride.
- 31:46SPEAKER_06: Yeah, which is crazy as well, because you're like, what am I proud of here?
- 31:49SPEAKER_06: The fact that I've just watched loads of films back to back for my achieved.
- 31:54SPEAKER_05: So dumb.
- 31:55SPEAKER_07: But yeah.
- 31:55SPEAKER_07: Um good experiences.
- 31:57SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 31:58SPEAKER_01: I I they do a lot of they can they've got coming up now all the Christmas ones on the lineup.
- 32:03SPEAKER_01: That's tempting.
- 32:05SPEAKER_04: What would you want to go see in the cinema?
- 32:07SPEAKER_04: I get it's wonderful life.
- 32:10SPEAKER_01: Um I really want to see Home Alone in the cinema.
- 32:12SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I love it.
- 32:13SPEAKER_04: I've seen Home Alone with the orchestra, which was kind of crazy because they do it in the Royal Albert Hall, and which feels like going to the Royal Albert Hall to watch Home Alone.
- 32:22SPEAKER_04: So crazy.
- 32:22SPEAKER_04: That's we've done it for all both of the movies.
- 32:25SPEAKER_04: We've seen both films in the Royal Albert Hall, and it feels like so grand to like you have this amazing orchestra, you know, singers, and there's one I've seen it with the Lord of the Rings, and I've seen it with Gladiator, unsurprisingly.
- 32:40SPEAKER_04: Yeah, and both that makes sense.
- 32:41SPEAKER_04: That makes sense.
- 32:42SPEAKER_04: Those are like big epic movies, whereas like it's so crazy to see like some of those scenes.
- 32:47SPEAKER_01: But I guess like I guess like the sound, the the orchestra for well the like the the soundtrack for Home Alone and one and two is really good.
- 32:55SPEAKER_04: It's amazing.
- 32:56SPEAKER_04: John John Williams.
- 32:57SPEAKER_04: Yeah, wait, no, not John Williams.
- 32:58SPEAKER_04: John Williams is the No, it is John Williams.
- 33:00SPEAKER_04: John Williams, oh John Williams, yeah.
- 33:01SPEAKER_04: Oh yeah, it's John Hughes is the writer.
- 33:03SPEAKER_01: John Hughes is the John Williams is the John Hughes is the writer.
- 33:06SPEAKER_01: Christopher Columbus is the director.
- 33:08SPEAKER_04: Yeah, sorry, sorry, it's a John and a John and a Chris.
- 33:10SPEAKER_01: Chris Columbus, sorry, not Christopher Columbus, who is this is a very good confusion.
- 33:14SPEAKER_04: I love those movies.
- 33:15SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 33:16SPEAKER_04: It's so but it's so great.
- 33:17SPEAKER_04: It's cra it's crazy how grand it feels.
- 33:19SPEAKER_04: At the end when he goes to hug the bird woman, yeah, and it's like you gotta draw out and you're like, we're watching this in the Royal Albert, it's insane.
- 33:27SPEAKER_00: That's really funny.
- 33:29SPEAKER_06: That's great.
- 33:30SPEAKER_06: I would hard recommend.
- 33:32SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I would definitely I would actually do that.
- 33:33SPEAKER_04: It was great.
- 33:34SPEAKER_01: I want to see that like they were doing a lot of the um the Studio Ghibli ones.
- 33:39SPEAKER_04: They were, I mean, that would be amazing.
- 33:40SPEAKER_04: And that was tempting.
- 33:41SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 33:41SPEAKER_01: That's really amazing.
- 33:43SPEAKER_04: I think also like there's something really funny about watching that kind of thing at Christmas because everyone has their own like relationship with that movie.
- 33:52SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 33:52SPEAKER_04: So there was a lot of people who were like quoting things, which was quite funny.
- 33:56SPEAKER_06: And I really like it.
- 33:57SPEAKER_06: It was so so sweet.
- 33:58SPEAKER_06: It was really cute.
- 34:00SPEAKER_01: Um just thinking about the other one that I'd want to go see there was um would be The Muppets Christmas Carol.
- 34:06SPEAKER_07: You see Muppets?
- 34:08SPEAKER_07: Isn't I don't get it.
- 34:12SPEAKER_04: A controversial opinion.
- 34:13SPEAKER_01: That is controversial.
- 34:14SPEAKER_04: I don't get it.
- 34:15SPEAKER_04: And and I think it's maybe because it's like never really crossed my desk as a Charlotte.
- 34:18SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 34:18SPEAKER_01: So like no Muppets, no Sesame Street, no.
- 34:21SPEAKER_04: No, Deaf Sesame Street scared me.
- 34:24SPEAKER_04: I don't like any puppets though.
- 34:25SPEAKER_01: Nothing puppets.
- 34:26SPEAKER_04: Nothing puppets.
- 34:27SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 34:27SPEAKER_04: I don't like puppets, and I don't sorry, Lochland one.
- 34:30SPEAKER_04: No, I love Lockland.
- 34:31SPEAKER_04: But I was literally about to say that.
- 34:34SPEAKER_04: I love I love current puppets.
- 34:37SPEAKER_04: But I like at now at that age, I was like, I find it so disturbing.
- 34:40SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 34:41SPEAKER_04: It just freaks me out.
- 34:42unknown: Interesting.
- 34:42SPEAKER_04: Yeah, yeah, Muppet Christmas Carol.
- 34:43SPEAKER_04: I don't I don't like it.
- 34:45SPEAKER_04: I don't like it.
- 34:45SPEAKER_04: I remember watching it in in school once being like, I don't it's like the first thing my daughter is starting to get into now.
- 34:52SPEAKER_04: Oh, puppets!
- 34:53SPEAKER_01: So like so, so Sesame Street a little bit, but then not so much puppets, but she's so into telly tubbies.
- 35:01SPEAKER_04: Oh, I wonder what it is about telly tubbies at the time.
- 35:03SPEAKER_04: I think it's the colours.
- 35:03SPEAKER_04: I do think it's just the colours.
- 35:04SPEAKER_01: They're just like and they're like gobbling about.
- 35:07SPEAKER_01: Like she'll be so focused on them and like watching and clapping along.
- 35:10SPEAKER_01: Then they then they get the little TV thing on and it goes to like the real children, and she just like tunes out and walks away.
- 35:15SPEAKER_01: She doesn't care about it.
- 35:17SPEAKER_01: Yeah, she just does not care, and then they're just like, okay, we'll skip back to that, we'll skip ahead.
- 35:20SPEAKER_01: But she loves like the big Yeah starts laughing.
- 35:23SPEAKER_04: Oh it's so cute, but it's so are there certain shows that you're worried she's gonna like Coco Melon?
- 35:32SPEAKER_04: You're then gonna have to do it.
- 35:33SPEAKER_01: No, we're not we're just avoiding like we just it's just it's quite easy to avoid a lot at the moment.
- 35:38SPEAKER_04: She'll find it on the iPad.
- 35:40SPEAKER_01: This is why you don't give them iPads.
- 35:42SPEAKER_04: Yeah, you don't want to she's gonna find Peppa Pig.
- 35:44SPEAKER_01: She's like Peppa Pig uh is an absolute no.
- 35:47SPEAKER_04: You find Peppa Pig annoying?
- 35:48SPEAKER_01: It's not just annoying, it's like really bad for them.
- 35:50SPEAKER_04: Is it?
- 35:50SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 35:50SPEAKER_04: Why?
- 35:51SPEAKER_01: It's something to do with like the way they speak, the language they use.
- 35:54SPEAKER_01: It's really bad for them.
- 35:55SPEAKER_04: Wait, Peppa Pig is bad for the kids.
- 35:57SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 35:57SPEAKER_04: Is that like a known fact?
- 35:59SPEAKER_01: If when you start following all the kids' accounts, really all the kids like training accounts, like when you start learning about oh, you're like Pepper Pig is actually really bad for their own.
- 36:08SPEAKER_01: Well, because they speak like crazy.
- 36:09SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 36:10SPEAKER_01: Really?
- 36:10SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 36:10SPEAKER_01: That's really funny.
- 36:11SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 36:12SPEAKER_01: You see, like the you know those the like eight S tier A tiers, like those rankings.
- 36:16SPEAKER_04: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 36:17SPEAKER_01: They'll do it for all the kids' shows and they're like.
- 36:19SPEAKER_01: It's like a D to an F.
- 36:21SPEAKER_01: It's really bad for them.
- 36:23SPEAKER_01: Coco Melon is like the worst.
- 36:25SPEAKER_04: Coco Melon is bad for kids.
- 36:26SPEAKER_01: Coco Melon is so bad for kids.
- 36:28SPEAKER_04: Why?
- 36:28SPEAKER_01: Because it's so like stim overstimulating.
- 36:30SPEAKER_04: Oh yeah.
- 36:30SPEAKER_04: I mean, it is it's horrible.
- 36:32SPEAKER_04: It is overstimulating for adults as well.
- 36:34SPEAKER_01: So the best one, apparently the best ones are Blueie and Miss Rachel.
- 36:41SPEAKER_04: People love Miss Rachel.
- 36:42SPEAKER_04: I baby sat kids before who love Miss Rachel.
- 36:44SPEAKER_04: And it's kind of scary.
- 36:46SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 36:46SPEAKER_04: Because she's kind of no offense.
- 36:48SPEAKER_04: She's kind of scary.
- 36:49SPEAKER_04: But they they like all kids love it.
- 36:51SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 36:51SPEAKER_04: Regardless of gender.
- 36:52SPEAKER_04: Yeah, yeah.
- 36:53SPEAKER_04: Regardless of where they're, they all love it.
- 36:54SPEAKER_01: My daughter likes the songs.
- 36:56SPEAKER_04: Something about that that sh she must be.
- 36:58SPEAKER_01: There's something in it.
- 37:00SPEAKER_04: So scary.
- 37:01SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 37:01SPEAKER_04: But okay, good.
- 37:02SPEAKER_04: So you that's so funny that Coco Melon and take it like that.
- 37:05SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 37:07SPEAKER_04: I'd be scared about my kids finding it.
- 37:10SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 37:10SPEAKER_04: I wouldn't want that.
- 37:12SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 37:12SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 37:13SPEAKER_06: You just gotta start moving them on to the sort of like the good stuff.
- 37:16SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I can't wait to start showing her all all the stuff that's like.
- 37:18SPEAKER_01: All your favourite movies.
- 37:20SPEAKER_01: I can't wait.
- 37:20SPEAKER_04: I love that.
- 37:21SPEAKER_04: What do you think is like your like a kid's film that you're like, oh can't wait.
- 37:26SPEAKER_01: Oh I think like My Neighbour Totoro.
- 37:31SPEAKER_04: Oh yeah.
- 37:32SPEAKER_01: Can't wait.
- 37:33SPEAKER_01: I think that's gonna be a great one.
- 37:34SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I love that.
- 37:36SPEAKER_01: I love that.
- 37:37SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 37:37SPEAKER_01: There's so many, but they're also like it's gonna be a while.
- 37:40SPEAKER_01: It's gonna be years before I can show them all.
- 37:43SPEAKER_01: Even some of the kids' films.
- 37:44SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 37:44SPEAKER_04: You're gonna have to wait until you start getting into the sort of the Shreks.
- 37:48SPEAKER_01: Shrek will be a while.
- 37:49SPEAKER_01: Shrek's gonna be like, not until she's like five or six.
- 37:52SPEAKER_04: Yeah, damn.
- 37:52SPEAKER_04: So we're gonna be we're gonna be stuck at Bluey for a bit.
- 37:55SPEAKER_01: It's gonna be, yeah, it's gonna be blue.
- 37:56SPEAKER_04: You're gonna have to learn to love Bluey.
- 37:58SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 38:00SPEAKER_01: That's why Totaro is gonna be like an early one, because it's like that's that's easy enough that she can watch that.
- 38:05SPEAKER_04: Oh, it's so cute.
- 38:06SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 38:06SPEAKER_04: I don't know what I was watching as a kid.
- 38:09SPEAKER_01: At that age, I have no idea.
- 38:10SPEAKER_04: Like I I said I was watching The Prince of Egypt on repeat.
- 38:13SPEAKER_01: That's funny.
- 38:13SPEAKER_01: That's really funny.
- 38:14SPEAKER_04: I just really loved it.
- 38:15SPEAKER_04: I really loved it.
- 38:16SPEAKER_04: And I I I loved the songs.
- 38:18SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 38:19SPEAKER_04: I loved the like I I loved like the dark.
- 38:22SPEAKER_01: The songs are so good.
- 38:24SPEAKER_04: The doc the songs are amazing.
- 38:25SPEAKER_01: That's probably the best part of the movie.
- 38:26SPEAKER_04: Apparently there was well what they talked about on this thing with Shrek.
- 38:29SPEAKER_04: Apparently they were making Oh yeah, do you want to sorry we did because it wasn't on the pod.
- 38:32SPEAKER_01: You want to like.
- 38:39SPEAKER_04: And they were talking about how Shrek was made by made at the same time as they were making the Prince of Egypt.
- 38:44SPEAKER_04: And apparently, like when people were working on Shrek, they were there was like a sort of a thing where because it was going so badly, nobody knew what it was.
- 38:56SPEAKER_01: Also, Dreamworks didn't exist.
- 38:57SPEAKER_04: Dreamworks, like they were still figuring it out.
- 38:59SPEAKER_04: They would to the they really needed these movies to like do well.
- 39:02SPEAKER_04: And the Prince of Egypt had this like amazing cast attached.
- 39:06SPEAKER_04: It was like obviously beautiful, obviously gonna be a win.
- 39:08SPEAKER_04: And then Shrek was like this hellhole.
- 39:10SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 39:10SPEAKER_04: And apparently, like people used to be like animators would be sent to Shrek if they like fucked up.
- 39:15SPEAKER_04: So it would be like a kind of punishment.
- 39:17SPEAKER_04: So if you if you were like, oh, you fucked up on the Prince of Egypt, you'd be sent down to Shrek.
- 39:23SPEAKER_02: Wow.
- 39:24SPEAKER_04: And you'd have to deal with it down there.
- 39:25SPEAKER_04: And nobody wanted to be on it.
- 39:26SPEAKER_04: It was like one of those projects where everyone was like, I don't want to be associated with this thing.
- 39:30SPEAKER_04: Like I'm really scared of it.
- 39:32SPEAKER_04: I'm scared of what we were making.
- 39:33SPEAKER_04: And apparently there was lots of like animators who were, you know, how like when you talk to people who were like, oh, they they founded AI and now they're scared of it.
- 39:41SPEAKER_06: Apparently, it was like the same thing with Shrek.
- 39:44SPEAKER_04: Where they were like, We created this monster and now we're like afraid of it.
- 39:47SPEAKER_04: Like they would the animators were like scared of it.
- 39:50SPEAKER_04: Because they didn't know it was like different kind of animation.
- 39:53SPEAKER_04: And so there was all of this like we don't know what we've and and sometimes they'd animate stuff that would go crazy, and like the arms would like they'd be like really scared of the creation, which I think is so funny.
- 40:03SPEAKER_01: This must have been during the Chris Farley point.
- 40:05SPEAKER_01: So for anyone who doesn't know, Chris Farley was originally Shrek, and then he passed away before it was finished.
- 40:12SPEAKER_01: So they he finished he recorded 90% of the dialogue.
- 40:16SPEAKER_01: But I will throw up a picture of what Shrek looked like, and it's it's crazy.
- 40:21SPEAKER_01: So creepy.
- 40:22SPEAKER_01: It's crazy.
- 40:23SPEAKER_01: It's insane.
- 40:24SPEAKER_04: Real Shrek.
- 40:25SPEAKER_04: And apparently they showed it to kids, and the kids screamed.
- 40:28SPEAKER_04: They were like terrified.
- 40:29SPEAKER_04: And also another fact which I thought was crazy is that like Shrek debuted at Cannes.
- 40:34SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 40:35SPEAKER_01: Which is wild.
- 40:36SPEAKER_00: Have you seen the pictures of it?
- 40:37SPEAKER_04: What yeah, wild.
- 40:38SPEAKER_00: It's so funny.
- 40:39SPEAKER_00: Wild.
- 40:40SPEAKER_00: It's so funny.
- 40:40SPEAKER_04: It's kind of amazing that it's that it was as successful as it was, but it's such a good, like a really great story on something that nobody had any faith in.
- 40:50SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 40:50SPEAKER_04: Everyone thought that it was an insane thing.
- 40:52SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 40:52SPEAKER_04: And then it became like.
- 40:54SPEAKER_04: And apparently also there was a huge thing with the the soundtrack where they had.
- 40:58SPEAKER_04: I think it was what is it is it accidentally it wasn't accidentally in love because that was a lot of time.
- 41:03SPEAKER_04: That's in the second one.
- 41:03SPEAKER_04: There's there was a movie that was put there was a song that was put in the movie.
- 41:07SPEAKER_04: What would it have been?
- 41:08SPEAKER_04: What's like an icon?
- 41:09SPEAKER_01: All-star, probably.
- 41:10SPEAKER_04: It was all-star.
- 41:11SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 41:11SPEAKER_01: Because it's what you got used into everything.
- 41:12SPEAKER_04: And they really wanted all-star.
- 41:14SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 41:14SPEAKER_04: And they didn't want to be associated with it.
- 41:16SPEAKER_04: And there was half of this episode is a is basically about the the the length that they went to get the all-star right.
- 41:25SPEAKER_04: And they wouldn't, they just didn't want to be associated with this movie.
- 41:27SPEAKER_04: They were like, it's going to be weird, it's going to be a flop.
- 41:30SPEAKER_04: It was a huge thing.
- 41:31SPEAKER_04: And then I can't remember how they finally got it, but it was like they needed to be massively.
- 41:36SPEAKER_04: I think they they were like paid crazy amounts to try and get this.
- 41:39SPEAKER_04: That's really funny.
- 41:40SPEAKER_01: Because the same year, literally the same year, they did the you know the movie Rat Race?
- 41:45SPEAKER_04: Yeah, it was in that.
- 41:46SPEAKER_01: It's in that.
- 41:47SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 41:47SPEAKER_01: And not only is it in that, they're in that with it.
- 41:49SPEAKER_01: Which performing.
- 41:50SPEAKER_04: I mean, considering that they were like, we'll do rat race, we won't do Shrek crazy.
- 41:54SPEAKER_01: Like you who read the script for Rat Race and went, Yeah, this is great, but Shrek, no.
- 41:58SPEAKER_04: So interesting.
- 41:59SPEAKER_04: So it's so interesting.
- 42:01SPEAKER_04: But yeah, people were like afraid to work on Shrek.
- 42:04SPEAKER_01: That's really funny.
- 42:05SPEAKER_06: And to be fair, when you see the picture, you're like, I would be scared that I made that.
- 42:08SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 42:09SPEAKER_06: I'd be frightened.
- 42:10SPEAKER_06: Sort of like an Oppenheimer situation.
- 42:13SPEAKER_01: What have I created?
- 42:14SPEAKER_05: Yeah, literally.
- 42:17SPEAKER_01: That's so funny.
- 42:19SPEAKER_04: So funny.
- 42:19SPEAKER_04: It's great.
- 42:20SPEAKER_01: And now it's like one of the biggest movies of all time.
- 42:22SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 42:22SPEAKER_04: Although it has come into a sort of disturbing sort of world now.
- 42:27SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 42:27SPEAKER_04: It's kind of started disturbing, went great, and now it's really disturbing again.
- 42:31SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I mean how they look now in the new one.
- 42:34SPEAKER_04: It's not good.
- 42:35SPEAKER_01: People are like, as soon as they as soon as that came up with the trade-up, people were like, What's this?
- 42:38SPEAKER_01: What's what have they done to Shrek?
- 42:40SPEAKER_04: Yeah, Shrek looked weird as hell.
- 42:41SPEAKER_04: They said they Yasify Shrek.
- 42:42SPEAKER_04: They've Yasify Shrek, they're giving him a Yassified daughter, and also like, I think we just need to stop it.
- 42:47SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 42:47SPEAKER_04: I think we're dumb.
- 42:48SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 42:48SPEAKER_01: We're dumb.
- 42:49SPEAKER_01: You should have stopped.
- 42:50SPEAKER_01: Well.
- 42:50SPEAKER_01: Sort of shop that's the first two are amazing.
- 42:52SPEAKER_01: I could put in boots.
- 42:54SPEAKER_06: I personally love the third one.
- 42:56SPEAKER_06: Which is also an insane take.
- 42:58SPEAKER_06: I love the third girl.
- 42:59SPEAKER_06: I don't know why, but there's something about it I find it quite charming.
- 43:01SPEAKER_01: The third is not well, then there's the fourth, which is just the fourth is a trade round.
- 43:05SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
- 43:06SPEAKER_04: The third one, I kind of like Justin Timberlake in it.
- 43:08SPEAKER_01: It's kind of as a hot dog.
- 43:10SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I like I love his character.
- 43:12SPEAKER_04: I think it's so charming.
- 43:14SPEAKER_04: And I like that Prince Charming kind of turns into the evil I love uh yeah, there's something about that second, the third film that I have like holding a candle out.
- 43:22SPEAKER_01: I mean, fair enough.
- 43:25SPEAKER_01: I think coming off of the second one, which is incredible.
- 43:28SPEAKER_04: Yeah, the second one's amazing.
- 43:29SPEAKER_01: Like going into the third one, you know.
- 43:30SPEAKER_04: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 43:31SPEAKER_04: The second one's great.
- 43:31SPEAKER_00: So it really takes, it really feels like a dip.
- 43:34SPEAKER_04: I know.
- 43:34SPEAKER_04: I really hoped my show was gonna be a Shrek 2, but I think it was more of a Shrek 3, unfortunately.
- 43:38SPEAKER_04: Oh no.
- 43:39SPEAKER_04: I know.
- 43:39SPEAKER_04: I've skipped ahead.
- 43:42unknown: Shrek three.
- 43:44SPEAKER_01: Well, that means you can go back for a Shrek 2.
- 43:47SPEAKER_06: That's so true.
- 43:48SPEAKER_06: That's so true.
- 43:48SPEAKER_06: The third one's gonna be amazing.
- 43:49SPEAKER_06: Don't just hold watch this space.
- 43:51SPEAKER_06: The third one's gonna be amazing.
- 43:53SPEAKER_00: But also, you shouldn't be saying that given that you're still doing the second one.
- 43:59SPEAKER_04: Yeah, wait, what Maybe we're just still in development.
- 44:01SPEAKER_04: Your workshop.
- 44:02SPEAKER_04: We're still workshopping.
- 44:03SPEAKER_04: My animators are very scared.
- 44:05SPEAKER_04: We're all very scared of what we've created.
- 44:08SPEAKER_04: I'm workshopping, yeah.
- 44:09SPEAKER_00: I'm workshopping.
- 44:10SPEAKER_00: Also, it's not like you got bad reviews for the show.
- 44:11SPEAKER_04: No, it was well reviewed.
- 44:13SPEAKER_04: It went really well, but it wasn't good.
- 44:14SPEAKER_04: No, it wasn't.
- 44:15SPEAKER_04: It was good.
- 44:16SPEAKER_04: It was just not.
- 44:16SPEAKER_04: I would say that it felt like it was a good show, in that it felt like a fanfic version of the first show.
- 44:23SPEAKER_04: Right.
- 44:23SPEAKER_04: It felt like someone else had written it, and it did feel as though it was like a kind of fan fiction spin-off.
- 44:29SPEAKER_04: It sort of felt like someone on Tumblr had been like, what if this character did this?
- 44:34SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 44:34SPEAKER_04: And it was very, it felt unauthorized.
- 44:36SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 44:37SPEAKER_00: But that's also fun to lean into.
- 44:38SPEAKER_06: Yeah, I really let into that.
- 44:40SPEAKER_06: And people were like, okay, it really fits with the it fits with the vibe of it.
- 44:44SPEAKER_06: Yeah, that's true.
- 44:45SPEAKER_06: It really went in directions that nobody thought it was gonna go.
- 44:49SPEAKER_00: I need to see it still.
- 44:51SPEAKER_04: Hopefully by the time it makes it to the next London run, it will be less um feel less like animated Shrek.
- 44:58SPEAKER_04: Early animated Shrek.
- 45:02SPEAKER_01: We can only hope.
- 45:03SPEAKER_01: I feel like you've got to get early animated Shrek into it.
- 45:05SPEAKER_05: Into it somehow, yeah.
- 45:06SPEAKER_05: It's a kindred vibe.
- 45:10SPEAKER_00: Um well speaking of Shrek, it also leads us to this movie, which come on to talk about, which famously Eddie Murphy's in this movie.
- 45:19SPEAKER_04: It's an Eddie Link.
- 45:20SPEAKER_01: It's an Eddie Link.
- 45:21SPEAKER_04: It's an Eddie, it I would say it's an Eddie best of.
- 45:24SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 45:24SPEAKER_04: It's Daddy Daycare.
- 45:26SPEAKER_01: Daddy Daycare.
- 45:27SPEAKER_04: I I'm not gonna say anything about it until you tell me.
- 45:29SPEAKER_04: Because I need to know what I'm working with.
- 45:31SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 45:31SPEAKER_01: Do you know what the r the rating is for it?
- 45:33SPEAKER_04: Is it really bad?
- 45:34SPEAKER_04: Is that actually 28%?
- 45:39SPEAKER_01: Is that quite that's really low?
- 45:40SPEAKER_01: That's really low.
- 45:41SPEAKER_04: Do you know what?
- 45:42SPEAKER_04: I think I thank God I'm here because justice for that movie, I think that movie is absolutely hilarious.
- 45:48SPEAKER_04: I quote that movie maybe more than any other thing.
- 45:51SPEAKER_04: I quote that movie weekly.
- 45:53SPEAKER_01: That's really interesting because I I could not pick a quote out from this movie.
- 45:56SPEAKER_04: I I quote that movie all the time.
- 45:59SPEAKER_04: I find it such I I think it's such a charming film.
- 46:02SPEAKER_01: It's charming for sure.
- 46:03SPEAKER_01: It's definitely it is charming for sure.
- 46:05SPEAKER_01: Like I will say, so for anyone if you're listening to this having not seen the movie, which is a a very strange thing to do, but like maybe they're just the fan of Daddy Akha.
- 46:14SPEAKER_01: Maybe a fan of Daddy Aker.
- 46:16SPEAKER_01: Um it's the premise of it is that Eddie Murphy gets fired from his job, him and his friend Jeff Garland get fired from their job, and they need to earn some money, and they're also looking after they're also looking after their kids.
- 46:30SPEAKER_01: And so what do they decide to do?
- 46:31SPEAKER_01: They decide to start a daddy daycare.
- 46:33SPEAKER_06: Perfect, perfect film, perfect, perfect no notes.
- 46:37SPEAKER_01: That's the that's pretty much like 90% of the movie.
- 46:40SPEAKER_04: And all the kids are amazing.
- 46:41SPEAKER_04: Young Dakota fanning in it.
- 46:42SPEAKER_01: L fanning.
- 46:43SPEAKER_04: L fanning, sorry, yeah, young L.
- 46:45SPEAKER_04: There's someone else who's young someone in that.
- 46:48SPEAKER_01: So one of the the guy that the kid that does the plays the flash, that's always wearing the flash costume.
- 46:53SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 46:54SPEAKER_01: He went on to play um the young version of Spock in Star Trek.
- 47:00SPEAKER_04: Really?
- 47:01SPEAKER_04: Oh my god, it was kind of written in the stars.
- 47:03SPEAKER_01: Because they also apparently they took the well, not apparently, but they were talking about Star Trek all the time in this movie.
- 47:07SPEAKER_04: Yeah, they were.
- 47:08SPEAKER_04: It's a big Star Trek vibe.
- 47:09SPEAKER_04: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 47:10SPEAKER_04: I can't believe it's got such a low rating.
- 47:12SPEAKER_01: So it's 28% from the critics, 49% from the audience.
- 47:17SPEAKER_01: Still very low.
- 47:18SPEAKER_01: That's still bad.
- 47:19SPEAKER_01: That's still what people say.
- 47:21SPEAKER_01: So what are the big criticisms?
- 47:23SPEAKER_01: The big criticisms.
- 47:25SPEAKER_01: Uh, even allowing for genre limitations, this is a very bad movie.
- 47:30SPEAKER_01: It makes kindergarten cop and bringing up baby sparkling comparison.
- 47:33SPEAKER_01: Whoa.
- 47:34SPEAKER_01: Eddie Murphy and Slapstick Potty Humor Comedy.
- 47:37SPEAKER_01: Uh what else?
- 47:40SPEAKER_01: Steve Zahn and Angelica Houston apart.
- 47:43SPEAKER_01: This is erosive candy for the Murphy diehard.
- 47:47SPEAKER_01: Whoa.
- 47:48SPEAKER_01: Doesn't go much further than the concept.
- 47:50SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 47:51SPEAKER_04: What what could you possibly need more of than than Eddie Murphy and another guy looking after loads of kids?
- 47:58SPEAKER_04: It's literally.
- 47:59SPEAKER_00: I love Eddie Murphy and another guy.
- 48:00SPEAKER_04: And another guy.
- 48:01SPEAKER_04: Like it's That is really what it is, though.
- 48:03SPEAKER_04: It's so good.
- 48:04SPEAKER_04: I like it's it and you know what?
- 48:06SPEAKER_04: It holds up.
- 48:08SPEAKER_04: It holds up.
- 48:08SPEAKER_04: I watched it recently and it's I still think it's like it's such a great movie.
- 48:11SPEAKER_01: So tell me tell me your history with it.
- 48:13SPEAKER_01: What's when when did when did you first see it?
- 48:14SPEAKER_04: I watched it ages ago when I was younger.
- 48:16SPEAKER_04: I've I mean I've seen I've been.
- 48:17SPEAKER_01: Do you remember how old you were?
- 48:18SPEAKER_04: I must have You must have been a kid.
- 48:20SPEAKER_04: A kid.
- 48:21SPEAKER_04: I've had I have had, I remember quite specifically having it on DVD.
- 48:25SPEAKER_04: I remember like watching it when I was a young because I've been quoting that movie for as long as I can I remember being sentient.
- 48:34SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 48:34SPEAKER_04: Which is huge.
- 48:35SPEAKER_04: It's it's it's formed like a real big backbone in my Daddy Daycare and Weirdly S Club Seven, LA 7.
- 48:42SPEAKER_04: Like S Club 7's LA 7 series.
- 48:44SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 48:44SPEAKER_04: For me and my sister are like really important.
- 48:48SPEAKER_01: I remember that so clearly.
- 48:49SPEAKER_01: I have such vivid memories of that.
- 48:51SPEAKER_01: That and Miami 7 as well.
- 48:53SPEAKER_04: I've seen LA7 more times than anything else.
- 48:56SPEAKER_01: Really?
- 48:56SPEAKER_01: Weirdly.
- 48:57SPEAKER_01: How do you even I know it's on like we watched me and my sister used to watch it on video all the time.
- 49:01SPEAKER_04: We had it on video.
- 49:02SPEAKER_04: Oh, we had daddy daycare on video.
- 49:04SPEAKER_04: I do remember that.
- 49:05SPEAKER_04: Both of those things were on video, and I do I also remember watching both of them are like real vocal stim things for me.
- 49:13SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 49:13SPEAKER_04: Like we'll there's stuff will come up all the time and it's daddy daycare quote.
- 49:16SPEAKER_01: So wait, what give me some daddy daycare quotes then?
- 49:18SPEAKER_01: Because I can't even, I could not pull it out.
- 49:19SPEAKER_04: But now if you don't know it, it's like it's it's like I can't pull anything.
- 49:22SPEAKER_04: It's like so embarrassing to quote.
- 49:24unknown: Right.
- 49:25SPEAKER_04: Like there's a kid called Crispin in it, and he does this like great bit where he's like he's like he like Crispin hits him.
- 49:35SPEAKER_04: He's gonna see you tomorrow, Crispin.
- 49:37unknown: Tomorrow.
- 49:38SPEAKER_04: And in my show, in my first show, there is a kid called Crispin.
- 49:42SPEAKER_04: And it's a shout out to Daddy Taker, of course.
- 49:44SPEAKER_04: So that's how much I care about this movie.
- 49:46SPEAKER_04: Yeah, exclusive that there's I just think that's it's all great.
- 49:49SPEAKER_04: I love this film.
- 49:51SPEAKER_04: Mainly also because it's it's so like of the time.
- 49:55SPEAKER_01: It is.
- 49:56SPEAKER_04: It's so it's millennium, it's millennial hope core.
- 50:00SPEAKER_01: It is, yeah.
- 50:00SPEAKER_04: It's such hope core.
- 50:01SPEAKER_01: It is because also like he can they have an absolutely giant house.
- 50:06SPEAKER_04: They have a giant house, and he's unemployed.
- 50:08SPEAKER_04: Oh, she's a lawyer to be fair.
- 50:09SPEAKER_01: Yeah, she's a lawyer, but they're like, oh, we can't afford and like one of us, we both have to work to afford this.
- 50:15SPEAKER_01: So like he's like, Oh, I just I I just got fired, and he's so casual about it.
- 50:19SPEAKER_01: It's so great, yeah.
- 50:19SPEAKER_01: He's so casual about it.
- 50:20SPEAKER_01: He's like, Hell yeah, I got fired yesterday.
- 50:22SPEAKER_01: You didn't say this.
- 50:24SPEAKER_04: Also, their like advertising job is so of the time as well, because they're like selling cocoa pops or like they're trying to create like a new cereal, yeah.
- 50:35SPEAKER_04: But healthy, and the healthy cereal and the way they're doing it, is putting a guy in a big broccoli outfit, yeah, which is the equivalent now of like putting an influencer in.
- 50:46SPEAKER_04: Do you know what I mean?
- 50:46SPEAKER_04: It's like it's so innocent, it's so there's no TikTok, there's no nothing.
- 50:51SPEAKER_04: It's just a guy in a broccoli suit.
- 50:52SPEAKER_04: Remember when that that's how you sold cereal?
- 50:54SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 50:55SPEAKER_04: It doesn't work in the film, but it you know, there's something kind of beautiful about it.
- 50:58SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it did work at the time.
- 51:00SPEAKER_04: It's great.
- 51:01SPEAKER_04: I mean, where's that gone?
- 51:02SPEAKER_04: I also like I love the this great soundtrack, I will say as well.
- 51:07SPEAKER_01: I was gonna say this.
- 51:07SPEAKER_04: Great soundtrack.
- 51:08SPEAKER_01: I did not remember the soundtrack being this good.
- 51:10SPEAKER_04: There's a really great bit where the little kid has these, I really vividly remember he has these little Spongebob SquarePants slippers.
- 51:18SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 51:18SPEAKER_04: Walking on Sunshine plays as he like montages down the stairs in these like little SpongeBob square slippers.
- 51:24SPEAKER_04: And I that is very obvious time.
- 51:25SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 51:26SPEAKER_04: And I remember thinking, like, God, that kid.
- 51:27SPEAKER_01: This is early days of Spongebob as well.
- 51:29SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 51:29SPEAKER_04: SpongeBob SquarePants slippers?
- 51:31SPEAKER_04: I remember thinking that was electric.
- 51:33SPEAKER_04: I can't believe it.
- 51:35SPEAKER_04: So that was one of my favorite films.
- 51:37SPEAKER_04: One of my favorite bits.
- 51:37SPEAKER_01: Did you ever get Spongebob slippers then?
- 51:39SPEAKER_04: I was thinking, I was like, how where can I find these like novelty goods?
- 51:43SPEAKER_04: I thought it was amazing.
- 51:44SPEAKER_04: And then I also remember what else happens in the movie that's like really stayed with me.
- 51:48SPEAKER_04: I think there's like a bit where the there's like a guy who comes in who's like the kind of like health inspector.
- 51:55SPEAKER_04: He's like a returning character.
- 51:56SPEAKER_04: Yeah, yeah.
- 51:57SPEAKER_04: And he at one point is left alone doing like a puppet show with the kids.
- 52:00SPEAKER_04: And I always think like that is how it feels to do my comedy.
- 52:06SPEAKER_04: Doing that guy holding those two dolls playing out his life in front of a bunch of kids.
- 52:11SPEAKER_01: And also that's traumatizing view because of puppets.
- 52:14SPEAKER_04: Puppet, thank you.
- 52:14SPEAKER_04: It's puppet.
- 52:15SPEAKER_04: That is how it feels to do character comedy right now.
- 52:17SPEAKER_06: Like that guy was speaking to me in a way that I didn't even realise at the time.
- 52:21SPEAKER_04: I can't quite understand why people hate it so much.
- 52:24SPEAKER_01: I I'm surprised people hate it so much.
- 52:26SPEAKER_04: Are you coming from did you hate it?
- 52:27SPEAKER_01: No, no, I didn't hate it.
- 52:28SPEAKER_01: You thought it was fine.
- 52:29SPEAKER_01: It was fine.
- 52:30SPEAKER_01: Like, I'm also like coming into it in a very different perspective now.
- 52:34SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 52:34SPEAKER_01: Having seen it like, so I would have seen it when it came out.
- 52:37SPEAKER_01: Not thought much, I didn't think much of it.
- 52:39SPEAKER_01: I was also like, so I would have been 14.
- 52:42SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 52:42SPEAKER_04: Well, yeah, 14.
- 52:44SPEAKER_04: Yeah, it wasn't 14.
- 52:44SPEAKER_04: It was good.
- 52:45SPEAKER_04: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 52:45SPEAKER_01: I was a big, I'm a huge Eddie Murphy fan.
- 52:48SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 52:48SPEAKER_01: And so like he was.
- 52:49SPEAKER_01: I think this is the point where I started getting into comedy.
- 52:52SPEAKER_06: Yes, you were like, okay.
- 52:53SPEAKER_01: So like Eddie Murphy was.
- 52:54SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna watch my guy.
- 52:55SPEAKER_06: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 52:56SPEAKER_06: He was the guy.
- 52:57SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 52:58SPEAKER_01: And so I'd watch everything of his.
- 53:00SPEAKER_01: And I was like, this is fine, but yeah, it's not for me.
- 53:03SPEAKER_04: I think it's so good.
- 53:05SPEAKER_04: The fact that we're not attacking grown-ups, but we're we're attacking this.
- 53:10SPEAKER_01: I know grown-ups is is universally universally.
- 53:13SPEAKER_04: Has anyone ever come on this podcast to defend grown-ups?
- 53:16SPEAKER_01: Grown ups two.
- 53:17SPEAKER_01: No, who?
- 53:18SPEAKER_01: Um, it's someone who's not in comedy.
- 53:21SPEAKER_04: Oh, they came on and they came on to defend it.
- 53:23SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 53:23SPEAKER_04: Did they do a good job?
- 53:24SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
- 53:25SPEAKER_01: It was this was years and years ago.
- 53:27SPEAKER_01: Shit.
- 53:27SPEAKER_01: Many years ago.
- 53:28SPEAKER_04: What's the worst film that someone's defended?
- 53:31SPEAKER_01: Oh.
- 53:32SPEAKER_01: Um.
- 53:32SPEAKER_01: That's so far.
- 53:33SPEAKER_01: That's so hard.
- 53:36SPEAKER_01: Martin Urbano defended Jack and Jill.
- 53:39SPEAKER_01: I was just thinking about it because of grown-ups.
- 53:41SPEAKER_06: Yeah, that's tough.
- 53:42SPEAKER_06: That's really tough.
- 53:43SPEAKER_06: That film is crap.
- 53:45SPEAKER_06: Have you ever seen The Cobbler?
- 53:47SPEAKER_01: No, but we were talking about it.
- 53:48SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 53:49SPEAKER_01: The cobbler is crap.
- 53:50SPEAKER_01: Yeah, but it in a cobbler is one of the best films.
- 53:53SPEAKER_04: The cobbler is a bit of a um room.
- 53:56SPEAKER_01: Yeah, that's what I've heard.
- 53:57SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 53:57SPEAKER_04: You could do, they could for sure do cobbler screenings at the Prince Charles.
- 54:01SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 54:01SPEAKER_04: And they should.
- 54:03SPEAKER_01: I've heard it's very, very bad.
- 54:04SPEAKER_01: It's so bad.
- 54:05SPEAKER_01: Who's ever really picked like those like truly, truly atrocious like bad films like The Room or anything like that?
- 54:14SPEAKER_04: Well, because there's there's something about I mean, I have a a policy.
- 54:18SPEAKER_04: My family love crap films.
- 54:19SPEAKER_04: And I would say that actually Daddy Care is like a still a good film in comparison to what I'm saying when I say crap films is what we do, and especially around Christmas, is that we go on Amazon, yeah, we type in keywords like uh usually it's like um war, like American soldier, like horse, something like something that'll get us into like crap American stuff.
- 54:43SPEAKER_04: You basically go more like this, more like this, more like this.
- 54:46SPEAKER_04: You start on Purple Hearts and you go more like this, more like this, more like this for about 15 clicks.
- 54:50SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 54:51SPEAKER_04: Then you start getting to something which I can only describe as like a it's a free treasure trove of some of the best films I have ever seen in my life, including, but not limited to Titanic 2.
- 55:05SPEAKER_01: Oh, I talked to Lorna Roytrine about this.
- 55:08SPEAKER_04: Titanic 2 is She told me about this.
- 55:12SPEAKER_01: I'd not seen it.
- 55:12SPEAKER_01: She told me about this.
- 55:13SPEAKER_01: It's mad.
- 55:14SPEAKER_04: What's so good about Titanic 2 is there's also about three extras in it.
- 55:18SPEAKER_04: So you see the same person rolling back and forth on the ship at multiple times.
- 55:24SPEAKER_04: It's so funny.
- 55:25SPEAKER_04: And also, it's made by a production company called Asylum Pictures.
- 55:30SPEAKER_04: Oh no.
- 55:30SPEAKER_04: Of course.
- 55:31SPEAKER_04: And Asylum Pictures are also responsible for a film where I I can't remember what it's called, but it's it's a film where they go, they're on a modern plane.
- 55:39SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 55:41SPEAKER_04: And something happens where they end up something like that, they get struck by lightning or something, and they end up getting flying over 1940s Germany.
- 55:51SPEAKER_04: And they end up in like Nazi 1940s Germany.
- 55:54SPEAKER_04: What?
- 55:55SPEAKER_04: And it is and they can't deal with it.
- 55:57SPEAKER_04: And they're like trying to stop the war.
- 55:58SPEAKER_04: But they're just basically like, imagine like a it's a bunch of like So they're in a modern plane.
- 56:03SPEAKER_04: A modern plane.
- 56:04SPEAKER_04: It's so it's crazy.
- 56:07SPEAKER_04: It's so crazy.
- 56:08SPEAKER_04: But they're not like there are so many movies in this realm that like I just like.
- 56:12SPEAKER_04: Have you ever heard of the after films?
- 56:14SPEAKER_01: No, I don't think so.
- 56:15SPEAKER_04: Someone will one day come onto this podcast and defend what is not just a movie, is an epic franchise.
- 56:22SPEAKER_00: What is this?
- 56:22SPEAKER_04: Okay, so what this also leads you to, the Amazon Prime of it all, is it leads you to Wattpad.
- 56:27SPEAKER_04: Have you ever heard of Wattpad?
- 56:28SPEAKER_04: Oh, of course I've heard of Whatpad.
- 56:29SPEAKER_04: Wattpad, yeah.
- 56:29SPEAKER_04: Wattpad movies, I'd say the afterfilms are like some of their most successful film.
- 56:33SPEAKER_03: Okay.
- 56:33SPEAKER_06: This is like the equivalent of someone talking about like a comedian's comedians, comedian.
- 56:37SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 56:37SPEAKER_06: This isn't me talking about like my my your favorite film is film of film.
- 56:41SPEAKER_04: But Wattpad put loads of money into what was essentially like a Harry Styles Tumblr fan film.
- 56:47SPEAKER_01: I know this one, yeah.
- 56:48SPEAKER_04: And starring Hero Tiffin Fines, who is your sort of he's uh Ray Fine's nephew, and he's your classic, like, yeah, um I'm actually um really excited for this next movie.
- 57:03SPEAKER_04: But he basically went to like a really posh school inland, of course.
- 57:06SPEAKER_04: Yeah, yeah.
- 57:06SPEAKER_04: Um and he's like, Yeah, yeah, yeah, I'm playing this uh character that um yeah, really like he's such a car.
- 57:13SPEAKER_04: I would recommend, hard recommend watching his interviews.
- 57:16SPEAKER_04: They are electric.
- 57:17SPEAKER_04: And he is in all of these afterfilms, there's like eight of these movies.
- 57:22SPEAKER_04: There's eight.
- 57:22SPEAKER_04: There's loads of them, there's loads of them, and they're all Harris Dow's fanfiction.
- 57:25SPEAKER_04: They're all like quite a graphic, I will say.
- 57:27SPEAKER_01: I thought it was I thought it was one movie.
- 57:28SPEAKER_04: There's loads of them.
- 57:29SPEAKER_04: There's after, there's after all that, there's like after all time.
- 57:32SPEAKER_04: They're all like called after something.
- 57:34SPEAKER_04: After we met, after we fall.
- 57:35SPEAKER_04: No.
- 57:36SPEAKER_04: It's great.
- 57:36SPEAKER_04: And all of it is like the same story, basically, again and again.
- 57:39SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
- 57:40SPEAKER_04: It gets crazy, like he's shooting people.
- 57:42SPEAKER_04: It's so, so good.
- 57:45SPEAKER_04: So just when it comes to crap movies, I'm just I'm all about, I'm all about getting on that Amazon Prime.
- 57:51SPEAKER_01: Have you seen the um like the knockoff of like the like the superhero ones?
- 57:58SPEAKER_01: No.
- 57:58SPEAKER_01: Or the or like transform knockoff transformers.
- 58:01SPEAKER_01: Oh my god, no.
- 58:01SPEAKER_04: This could be a whole new genre for me.
- 58:03SPEAKER_01: So uh Finney Christie told me about this.
- 58:06SPEAKER_01: Oh.
- 58:06SPEAKER_06: He's like, you go to Poundland, they're like a- You see, this is this is the equivalent of you go to Amazon Prime more like this, more like this.
- 58:11SPEAKER_01: It's like you go to Poundland and it's like this one studio that will quickly make a movie.
- 58:16SPEAKER_06: Oh great.
- 58:17SPEAKER_06: It's a silent picture.
- 58:18SPEAKER_01: So like to put uh to put out alongside it at the same time.
- 58:22SPEAKER_01: So people go to it and they buy it thinking it's that movie.
- 58:25SPEAKER_04: Oh, it's kind of genius.
- 58:27SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it's genius, but they're so bad.
- 58:28SPEAKER_01: It's crap movies.
- 58:29SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it's like knock off Iron Man, Knock Off Uh Transformers, Knock Off Uh Do they have like different names?
- 58:36SPEAKER_04: They're they're they're called like Iron Bro or something?
- 58:38SPEAKER_01: Literally, it's stuff like that.
- 58:40SPEAKER_04: Perfect.
- 58:40SPEAKER_04: That's perfect.
- 58:42SPEAKER_04: I always think about the actors in those movies.
- 58:44SPEAKER_06: These aren't these aren't actors.
- 58:47unknown: Okay.
- 58:48SPEAKER_06: These are don't give them that word.
- 58:49SPEAKER_01: These aren't this is called Metal Man.
- 58:51SPEAKER_06: Perfect.
- 58:52SPEAKER_01: Or Iron Hero.
- 58:53SPEAKER_06: Yeah, perfect.
- 58:54SPEAKER_06: Perfect, festival member.
- 58:56SPEAKER_06: Has he seen them, Finley?
- 58:57SPEAKER_01: He has, yeah, yeah.
- 58:58SPEAKER_01: He he's that's what he said.
- 58:59SPEAKER_01: He used to watch them.
- 59:00SPEAKER_01: He used to like him and his like flatmates used to just get by the.
- 59:03SPEAKER_04: Oh, this could be a new pastime for us.
- 59:06SPEAKER_01: It's like this is this is the next direction for you.
- 59:08SPEAKER_04: Oh, yeah, this looks great.
- 59:11SPEAKER_04: This is giving Titanic 2.
- 59:13SPEAKER_01: Yeah, this is it's that level.
- 59:14SPEAKER_01: It's Titanic 2 level.
- 59:16SPEAKER_01: Um it's a point, it's like the to the level where it's like the the graphics are like placed over the pe over the people, and it's just like a static like 2D thing over the person of like an explosion.
- 59:33SPEAKER_04: Do you know the thing is though, is that like I sometimes I think I often enjoy those movies more than like there's something I I watched a movie at Christmas because also there's obviously famously all the crap Christmas one.
- 59:45SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 59:45SPEAKER_04: I'll never forget.
- 59:46SPEAKER_04: But there was one that came out out recently called The Night Before Christmas, spelt night, as it was.
- 59:50SPEAKER_04: Oh, I heard about Lucia.
- 59:52SPEAKER_01: Was this Vanessa Hudgens?
- 59:54SPEAKER_04: I think it was Vanessa and she fell in love with a man who was a medieval knight who had been spirited away to like a modern Midwest, you know, and and she fell in love with him, but he like didn't understand how anything worked because he was a knight.
- 1:00:11SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:00:12SPEAKER_04: And it was such a great one.
- 1:00:16SPEAKER_04: And she was all like it was because they also I love that they kind of try and like uh shoehorn a like real meaning into it.
- 1:00:23SPEAKER_04: And then she was like trying to she had some kind of sob story.
- 1:00:27SPEAKER_04: She was dying, someone was dying, something awful was happening, and he like saved the day as a medieval knight.
- 1:00:35SPEAKER_04: And it was perfect.
- 1:00:36SPEAKER_04: Perfect film.
- 1:00:36SPEAKER_04: That's so I'm gonna have to watch that again.
- 1:00:38SPEAKER_01: It was it's it's all the it's the hallmark.
- 1:00:41SPEAKER_01: Well, then it's not hallmark now with that with that.
- 1:00:43SPEAKER_01: But yeah, it's the equivalent of the hallmark.
- 1:00:45SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it's now they're all on Netflix.
- 1:00:47SPEAKER_04: They're such good films.
- 1:00:48SPEAKER_04: I love, I love it.
- 1:00:50SPEAKER_04: And I also think like in a world of like AI slot, yeah, that is a like I'm okay.
- 1:00:56SPEAKER_04: If we're going in that direction, give me more of that.
- 1:00:59SPEAKER_04: Yeah, don't like AI good stuff.
- 1:01:01SPEAKER_04: Give me AI crap.
- 1:01:03SPEAKER_04: Like I want to see AI, I want to see AI being used for that kind of stuff, like for lifetime movies.
- 1:01:08SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:01:09SPEAKER_04: Don't AI my like big budget Hollywood films.
- 1:01:11SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:01:12SPEAKER_04: Leave that there.
- 1:01:13SPEAKER_04: I want AI, I want Vanessa Hudgens on like an AI dragon.
- 1:01:18SPEAKER_04: Like, I really I want I want that kind of level of of stuff.
- 1:01:21SPEAKER_04: I will pay good money for a development AI that will do that for me.
- 1:01:28SPEAKER_00: That would be so funny.
- 1:01:29SPEAKER_04: I'd love it.
- 1:01:30SPEAKER_04: That's exactly what I want AI to be used for.
- 1:01:33SPEAKER_04: Not stealing our jobs, but in but improving our lifetime movies.
- 1:01:39SPEAKER_01: Um, one of the things you said to me uh before we went before we started this is you're like, I want to know all the trivia about this movie.
- 1:01:45SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:01:45SPEAKER_01: And then I was saying to you there's not really a whole lot of like interesting trivia about this movie.
- 1:01:49SPEAKER_04: Is it she but like it's crazy to me that it doesn't have more of a cultural impact?
- 1:01:53SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:01:54SPEAKER_01: It's like I'm trying to find anything that's like remotely.
- 1:02:00SPEAKER_01: Eddie Murphy and Steve Zahn were both in Doctor Doolittle 2.
- 1:02:03SPEAKER_04: Is that it?
- 1:02:04SPEAKER_04: Steve Zahn is in it.
- 1:02:06SPEAKER_04: Yeah, he is.
- 1:02:06SPEAKER_04: Do you know what the I associate?
- 1:02:07SPEAKER_04: Daddy Daycare is kind of like um cheaper by the dozen, too.
- 1:02:10SPEAKER_01: I was I was gonna say this.
- 1:02:11SPEAKER_01: I guess you get the mixed up.
- 1:02:13SPEAKER_04: Yeah, but it's a similar also a great movie.
- 1:02:16SPEAKER_04: Has that got a bad review?
- 1:02:18SPEAKER_04: That's it.
- 1:02:18SPEAKER_04: Cheaper by the dozen.
- 1:02:19SPEAKER_01: Cheaper by the well, I don't think it's as low as this.
- 1:02:21SPEAKER_04: Has anyone ever brought that one in?
- 1:02:22SPEAKER_01: No.
- 1:02:23SPEAKER_04: That's a great movie.
- 1:02:25SPEAKER_04: I haven't seen that in ages.
- 1:02:27SPEAKER_04: I remember The Kid with the Frog.
- 1:02:29SPEAKER_01: 25%.
- 1:02:30SPEAKER_01: So it's lower than this.
- 1:02:32SPEAKER_01: Lower than this, surprisingly.
- 1:02:34SPEAKER_01: Cheer why the doesn't might be the better movie, I think.
- 1:02:36SPEAKER_04: Starring Hillary Duff.
- 1:02:38SPEAKER_01: Starring Hillary Duff, yeah.
- 1:02:39SPEAKER_04: And the guy who then went on to be in what was that?
- 1:02:44SPEAKER_04: That TV show about like people with superpowers.
- 1:02:48SPEAKER_01: You mean you mean um the b smallville?
- 1:02:52SPEAKER_04: Yes.
- 1:02:52SPEAKER_01: Uh he was on the in that before this.
- 1:02:54SPEAKER_01: Oh, was he?
- 1:02:54SPEAKER_04: Oh my god, that's crazy that's a crazy left hand for him.
- 1:02:56SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:02:57SPEAKER_04: Yeah, this is Martin.
- 1:02:59SPEAKER_01: Steve Martin.
- 1:03:00SPEAKER_04: Steve Martin is the dad.
- 1:03:01SPEAKER_04: Uh what like a stacked cast.
- 1:03:04SPEAKER_01: This is a stacked cast.
- 1:03:05SPEAKER_04: The girl that then went on to become the love interest in like step up three or something, is is the si there's one of the sisters.
- 1:03:11SPEAKER_03: Really?
- 1:03:12SPEAKER_04: Yeah, there's a huge amount of trivia in that.
- 1:03:14SPEAKER_04: And in fact, have you ever played the game where you have to like if you like movies where you have to get from one actor to another?
- 1:03:20SPEAKER_04: Yes.
- 1:03:20SPEAKER_04: Cheaper by the dozen is a key movie for that.
- 1:03:24SPEAKER_04: Yeah, that's a very good one.
- 1:03:25SPEAKER_04: It's a great movie.
- 1:03:26SPEAKER_04: It's so it's a it's a kind of a monuments men.
- 1:03:28SPEAKER_04: Monuments men, terrible movie, but monuments men is unbelievable for that game.
- 1:03:33SPEAKER_01: I've never thought about monuments men as being a good choice for that, but they used to.
- 1:03:36SPEAKER_04: I think about monuments men all the time because of that.
- 1:03:38SPEAKER_04: Because of that, that particular because you're never gonna get those people in that film.
- 1:03:42SPEAKER_01: I only think of Monuments Men because of the weird Grave.
- 1:03:44SPEAKER_04: Of the Grave Mountain interview when they were all outsleep.
- 1:03:48SPEAKER_01: And then Paloma Fame is just there.
- 1:03:49SPEAKER_04: Yeah, it's really weird.
- 1:03:51SPEAKER_04: No, Monuments Men is incredible for that.
- 1:03:54SPEAKER_04: It's such an important, it's such an important film for that game.
- 1:03:58SPEAKER_04: I think like I go through Monuments Men every time I play that game.
- 1:04:01SPEAKER_00: I love it.
- 1:04:02SPEAKER_00: Monuments meant to cheaper by the dozen too.
- 1:04:04SPEAKER_06: Yeah, did you prefer a dozen to like New York Minute to New York Minute?
- 1:04:08SPEAKER_06: Great film.
- 1:04:08SPEAKER_01: I got a fact about New York Minute.
- 1:04:10SPEAKER_01: Great film.
- 1:04:11SPEAKER_01: I saw New York Minute, so I did work experience for Warner Brothers when I was uh 15, 16 years old.
- 1:04:20SPEAKER_01: Um, because my aunt at the time worked there.
- 1:04:23SPEAKER_01: Um but I worked for like I was in like the law area, so it wasn't interesting.
- 1:04:26SPEAKER_01: Oh.
- 1:04:27SPEAKER_01: Except for the fact that they let me to do two screenings.
- 1:04:30SPEAKER_01: They let me see two screenings of movies.
- 1:04:32SPEAKER_01: One was New York Minute.
- 1:04:34SPEAKER_04: Oh my god.
- 1:04:35SPEAKER_01: The other was Um Cinderella story.
- 1:04:38SPEAKER_04: Oh both fantastic films.
- 1:04:41SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 1:04:41SPEAKER_04: Oh my god, fantastic film.
- 1:04:43SPEAKER_04: What do you think about it?
- 1:04:44SPEAKER_04: You've not seen it since.
- 1:04:45SPEAKER_01: I've not seen it since, no.
- 1:04:46SPEAKER_01: God, I love that.
- 1:04:47SPEAKER_01: I love I really like Cinderella's story and didn't remember liking New York Minute.
- 1:04:51SPEAKER_04: New York Minute and all of their work.
- 1:04:54SPEAKER_01: Mary Kate and Ashley.
- 1:04:55SPEAKER_01: Their other work is very different to New York Minute.
- 1:04:58SPEAKER_04: New York Minute is the only one that is a real film.
- 1:05:00SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 1:05:00SPEAKER_04: I'd argue.
- 1:05:01SPEAKER_01: I mean, I think it is the only one that's a real film.
- 1:05:03SPEAKER_04: There are so many films.
- 1:05:04SPEAKER_04: When I say like I watched LA 7, I also watched all of the the Mary Kate and Ashley films were really important to me.
- 1:05:11SPEAKER_04: That was a big, a big part of my education.
- 1:05:14SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:05:14SPEAKER_04: Like there's a film where they're in the witness protection program.
- 1:05:17SPEAKER_04: Have you seen that?
- 1:05:18SPEAKER_04: That's a great movie.
- 1:05:20SPEAKER_04: Where they just keep having to move around because they're in the and it's never like established.
- 1:05:24SPEAKER_04: I can't remember why they're in the witness protection program.
- 1:05:26SPEAKER_04: But it's what like there's also when they're like in the Bahamas and they're like Yeah, yeah.
- 1:05:31SPEAKER_04: They're like kind of like embroiled in like a gang or something.
- 1:05:35SPEAKER_04: That's in that's a great, great movie.
- 1:05:38SPEAKER_00: Have you seen the re the the Christmas one that's like got the really problematic scene in it?
- 1:05:42SPEAKER_06: Yeah, oh yeah, gorgeous.
- 1:05:43SPEAKER_06: That's crazy.
- 1:05:44SPEAKER_01: They're like there's like there's a guy playing jazz music and then they go and throw fried chicken in his in his.
- 1:05:50SPEAKER_04: Yeah, it's crazy.
- 1:05:52SPEAKER_04: Yeah, that's a bad one.
- 1:05:53SPEAKER_04: There's a really good one when they're little called Um It Takes Two.
- 1:05:57SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 1:05:58SPEAKER_04: That's a great film, which is I believe.
- 1:06:00SPEAKER_01: Be one of the bigger ones.
- 1:06:01SPEAKER_04: Pre pre-parent trap.
- 1:06:03SPEAKER_04: But it's basically a parent trap.
- 1:06:05SPEAKER_04: If you haven't seen that movie, if you're still listening, that is a great movie.
- 1:06:10SPEAKER_01: There is an old parent trap, so there is an old yeah, that's true.
- 1:06:13SPEAKER_04: But it it's so funny in It Takes Two is actually such a good movie.
- 1:06:16SPEAKER_01: It's 95, so it is pre-parent trap.
- 1:06:18SPEAKER_01: I love it.
- 1:06:19SPEAKER_01: Three years pre-pre-parent trap.
- 1:06:20SPEAKER_04: I love that film.
- 1:06:22SPEAKER_01: Wow.
- 1:06:22SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 1:06:23SPEAKER_04: Interesting.
- 1:06:23SPEAKER_04: That's a great film.
- 1:06:24SPEAKER_04: When I say that I've got like an in-depth knowledge of these kind of movies, I've seen that film so often.
- 1:06:30SPEAKER_04: That yeah.
- 1:06:31SPEAKER_01: Okay, now it's starting to make way more sense about why you picked Addy Daker.
- 1:06:34SPEAKER_04: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:06:35SPEAKER_04: It's like kind of like early 2000s.
- 1:06:37SPEAKER_04: It's like naughty's not chick flicks, naughty's like, not even kids' films.
- 1:06:42SPEAKER_04: They're like off, off-brand franchise films.
- 1:06:49SPEAKER_04: For like, they're like, they're like franchise vehicles for famous people.
- 1:06:53SPEAKER_04: I've seen all of those.
- 1:06:54SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 1:06:55SPEAKER_04: There's also a great Mary Knight film called Winning London, where they're in the Model United Nations.
- 1:07:00SPEAKER_04: That is, and it's basically filmed like a camcorder.
- 1:07:03SPEAKER_04: The quality of the film is so bad.
- 1:07:05SPEAKER_04: It's all like mockumentary style.
- 1:07:07SPEAKER_01: Oh no.
- 1:07:07SPEAKER_04: And they're in Model United Nations.
- 1:07:09SPEAKER_01: I remember the poster.
- 1:07:09SPEAKER_01: I don't remember.
- 1:07:10SPEAKER_01: I don't remember.
- 1:07:10SPEAKER_01: Model United Nations.
- 1:07:12SPEAKER_04: And then she falls in love with an English boy, of course.
- 1:07:15SPEAKER_04: And they're representing England, of course.
- 1:07:17SPEAKER_04: So they have to go around doing loads of English things.
- 1:07:19SPEAKER_04: It's great.
- 1:07:20SPEAKER_04: They go to the globe.
- 1:07:21SPEAKER_04: It's perfect.
- 1:07:22SPEAKER_01: Perfect film.
- 1:07:23SPEAKER_01: There was something about those American movies back then, the American Kids movie kids sort of like preteen movies where they always went to like a European country in the in the world.
- 1:07:31SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:07:32SPEAKER_04: Like in um Lizzie McGuire, they love it.
- 1:07:35SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 1:07:35SPEAKER_04: But then unfortunately, even though I'm not American and I lived in Europe, it still for some reason made me think about these countries in that way too, which is crazy.
- 1:07:44SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 1:07:44SPEAKER_04: Because when I went to Italy, I was like, all I wanted to do in Rome was to like go up the step the steps and do what she did in that movie, which is so stupid.
- 1:07:52SPEAKER_04: Yeah, those films have really captured my imagination.
- 1:07:55SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:07:56SPEAKER_01: There's something there's something so strange about that time that doesn't exist, like it does not exist now where you don't get that feel.
- 1:08:01SPEAKER_04: It's hope core.
- 1:08:02SPEAKER_01: It is, it's hope core.
- 1:08:03SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:08:04SPEAKER_01: Again, like this this movie is hope core.
- 1:08:06SPEAKER_04: It's such hope.
- 1:08:07SPEAKER_04: It's also like there's something about those movies that I found really like, oh, I don't know.
- 1:08:13SPEAKER_04: I just thought that they were always getting in like adventures.
- 1:08:16SPEAKER_04: Also, to be fair, a lot of those movies are like a lot of like girly movie.
- 1:08:21SPEAKER_04: They're like girls getting into like scrapes and scraps that would like never happen normally.
- 1:08:25SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 1:08:26SPEAKER_04: And I always like really love, I always really loved watching that kind of film.
- 1:08:30unknown: Yeah.
- 1:08:31SPEAKER_04: Yeah, that makes a lot more sense as to where that's like the majority of my the film education has come from watching the the the sort of discography of Mary Kay and Ashley.
- 1:08:41SPEAKER_04: Excellent, amazing.
- 1:08:43SPEAKER_04: But really like hard recommend winning London.
- 1:08:45SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 1:08:46SPEAKER_04: It's really bad.
- 1:08:47SPEAKER_04: There's a great bit where they they're in like because that was also the the the the like peak montage.
- 1:08:52SPEAKER_04: Yes.
- 1:08:53unknown: Yeah.
- 1:08:54SPEAKER_01: Set to like a like a Brit pop soundtrack.
- 1:08:57SPEAKER_04: Like Brit pop.
- 1:08:57SPEAKER_04: It was like can't get enough.
- 1:08:58SPEAKER_04: It was like just can't get enough.
- 1:09:00SPEAKER_04: And they were doing, they were doing it was a montage where they were trying to decide how best to represent England at the model United Nations.
- 1:09:10SPEAKER_04: And it was such like that was the montage.
- 1:09:13SPEAKER_04: And I never asked any questions about it at that age.
- 1:09:15SPEAKER_04: I was like, that makes perfect sense.
- 1:09:16SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:09:17SPEAKER_01: I was just thinking about it, like when we were talking just talking about this.
- 1:09:19SPEAKER_01: I think the closest thing now to all of that, and I think it's like a it's like the grown-up version of it, is Ted Lasso.
- 1:09:27SPEAKER_01: I think that's the closest.
- 1:09:28SPEAKER_04: Oh no, don't do that to us.
- 1:09:30SPEAKER_04: Don't do that to me.
- 1:09:31SPEAKER_04: I hate Ted Lasso.
- 1:09:33SPEAKER_01: But what I'm saying is it's hope core.
- 1:09:35SPEAKER_04: Yeah, but it's hope core in a world that has no hope, which is like kind of more depressing.
- 1:09:39SPEAKER_04: I hate Ted Lasso.
- 1:09:40SPEAKER_04: I saw someone talk about it online and they were like, it is, it's so saccharine.
- 1:09:44SPEAKER_01: It is.
- 1:09:45SPEAKER_04: And I've really, I was like, yeah.
- 1:09:47SPEAKER_01: It is.
- 1:09:47SPEAKER_01: I can't.
- 1:09:48SPEAKER_04: I I've I lose respect for people that like it.
- 1:09:50SPEAKER_04: Sorry.
- 1:09:51SPEAKER_04: Sorry to say it.
- 1:09:51SPEAKER_04: And that's coming from me, and you've heard my letterbooks.
- 1:09:54SPEAKER_04: Like, that's coming from me.
- 1:09:55SPEAKER_04: I that must be bad.
- 1:09:57SPEAKER_04: I think also because it's uh it's so it's everyone that this is what this guy said as well.
- 1:10:02SPEAKER_04: It's like everyone's happy by the end of every episode.
- 1:10:04SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:10:05SPEAKER_04: We've gone past that.
- 1:10:06SPEAKER_04: That doesn't exist anymore.
- 1:10:08SPEAKER_04: There's no happy ending.
- 1:10:09SPEAKER_01: It doesn't fit with the world today.
- 1:10:11SPEAKER_04: It doesn't fit.
- 1:10:12SPEAKER_04: And also, like, why is he in England?
- 1:10:15SPEAKER_04: Why is he in England?
- 1:10:16SPEAKER_04: I mean, there is a purpose to it, but like No, I know, but I'm just, it's still like it just doesn't the yeah, the Premier League of it all.
- 1:10:23SPEAKER_04: It just I can't, I can't get it.
- 1:10:25SPEAKER_06: I can't do it.
- 1:10:26SPEAKER_04: I remember my like one of my relatives said that they loved Ted Lasso, and I was like, I just I have to leave this conversation now.
- 1:10:33SPEAKER_04: They were re-watching Ted Lasso.
- 1:10:35SPEAKER_01: Re-watch re-watching?
- 1:10:38SPEAKER_04: It's one thing to watch it.
- 1:10:40SPEAKER_04: It's a cry for help to re-watch it.
- 1:10:42SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:10:42SPEAKER_01: We watched it.
- 1:10:43SPEAKER_01: It's one thing to watch it.
- 1:10:44SPEAKER_01: It's one thing to carry on watching.
- 1:10:45SPEAKER_01: Yeah, what have you missed?
- 1:10:46SPEAKER_01: And then mad.
- 1:10:49SPEAKER_04: The fact that there's maybe hidden things in it.
- 1:10:51SPEAKER_01: No, there's not.
- 1:10:52SPEAKER_01: There's no hidden things.
- 1:10:53SPEAKER_01: You're not going to hidden things.
- 1:10:55SPEAKER_04: Exactly.
- 1:10:57SPEAKER_01: There's nothing hidden in that show.
- 1:10:59SPEAKER_04: Exactly.
- 1:11:00SPEAKER_04: The idea of being like, well, maybe there's something I miss.
- 1:11:02SPEAKER_01: You didn't miss anything.
- 1:11:03SPEAKER_04: You didn't miss anything.
- 1:11:05SPEAKER_04: Don't worry.
- 1:11:06SPEAKER_01: I do find it like.
- 1:11:08SPEAKER_01: There is a thing where like someone who's not in the comedy world will tell you they like some kind of comedy, and you and it does make you go, I'm not gonna name anything, but like there are things where you're like, oh no.
- 1:11:20SPEAKER_04: Oh, there's loads of stuff.
- 1:11:21SPEAKER_04: And I think, guys, come on.
- 1:11:24SPEAKER_04: You've gotta be and I say this to my parents as well.
- 1:11:27SPEAKER_04: Sometimes I go home and they're watching something.
- 1:11:28SPEAKER_04: I'm like, guys, come on, we can do better than this.
- 1:11:32SPEAKER_04: I know we can do better than this.
- 1:11:34SPEAKER_04: But then I get accused of being negative and being like, which I get.
- 1:11:38SPEAKER_04: Because the thing is, like, you'll get to the end of an episode, and I'm like, guys, we're clearly not watching another one of this.
- 1:11:42SPEAKER_04: This was obviously terrible.
- 1:11:43SPEAKER_04: And they're like, oh, well, maybe it was fine.
- 1:11:45SPEAKER_04: And I'm like, what are we doing here?
- 1:11:47SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 1:11:48SPEAKER_04: But and I'd much rather spend my time watching Titanic 4 rather than watching Where it's not where people know it's bad.
- 1:11:55SPEAKER_04: It's yeah, like at least we're going into it knowing that this is I can't be watching another like crap Apple TV attempt.
- 1:12:00SPEAKER_04: Although to be fair, Apple TV is that like at least the offenders are it's one of the better ones for it.
- 1:12:05SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:12:07SPEAKER_04: There's some bad there's some bad things about Ted Lasso is up there, unfortunately.
- 1:12:12SPEAKER_04: Oh please.
- 1:12:15SPEAKER_01: Oh it's it's a hard watch.
- 1:12:19SPEAKER_04: It's a hard watch.
- 1:12:20SPEAKER_04: I do it's so funny talking about those early 2000s movies, because that makes so much sense that they like I forget that I watch those films so often.
- 1:12:27SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:12:28SPEAKER_04: York Minute I watched a lot.
- 1:12:30SPEAKER_04: That was up there.
- 1:12:31SPEAKER_01: Interesting.
- 1:12:32SPEAKER_01: I don't remember much about that movie other than It's amazing.
- 1:12:36SPEAKER_01: The Osborne are in it.
- 1:12:37SPEAKER_04: The Osborne's are in it quite prominently.
- 1:12:39SPEAKER_04: She's prominently.
- 1:12:41SPEAKER_04: Yeah, he's he's in it quite a lot.
- 1:12:42SPEAKER_04: They she's got a band and she has to get her Simple Planner in it.
- 1:12:46SPEAKER_04: Yes, that's the whole like the whole thing is about Simple Plan, and she has to get her demo track to some to like the manager of Simple Plan.
- 1:12:55SPEAKER_04: And then the other girl is trying the other one's trying to get into Oxford, which is great.
- 1:13:00SPEAKER_04: And she has to do a talk just to try and do a speech to try and get into Oxford, and then they go to New York City, and there's all of these crazy things that happen to them, they get stuck in the the sewer, they get a dog at one point, they enter, they go into the plaza.
- 1:13:15SPEAKER_04: There's all of them.
- 1:13:16SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I've got no memory of any of that.
- 1:13:18SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it's a great film.
- 1:13:19SPEAKER_01: But again, it was like those is like 22 years ago.
- 1:13:23SPEAKER_04: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:13:24SPEAKER_04: Oh my god.
- 1:13:25SPEAKER_04: 22 years ago.
- 1:13:26SPEAKER_01: 22 years ago that I would have seen it.
- 1:13:29SPEAKER_01: That's crazy.
- 1:13:31SPEAKER_01: That is actually date that film.
- 1:13:33SPEAKER_01: Wow.
- 1:13:33SPEAKER_05: Wow.
- 1:13:37SPEAKER_05: Don't think about it.
- 1:13:38SPEAKER_05: Don't think about it.
- 1:13:39SPEAKER_05: Don't think about it.
- 1:13:41SPEAKER_05: Don't think about it.
- 1:13:42SPEAKER_00: And I was doing work experience 22 years ago.
- 1:13:45SPEAKER_00: What were they doing?
- 1:13:46SPEAKER_00: What were they doing?
- 1:13:47SPEAKER_00: Why were they giving why was I doing work experience 22 years ago?
- 1:13:50SPEAKER_04: God, don't think about it.
- 1:13:51SPEAKER_04: That was so depressing.
- 1:13:52SPEAKER_04: Oh my god.
- 1:13:54SPEAKER_04: That's crazy.
- 1:13:55SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:13:56unknown: Wow.
- 1:13:56SPEAKER_04: And I still have not seen anything yet that's that has passed away.
- 1:14:00SPEAKER_04: I also had this is another thing that was part of the spin-off.
- 1:14:04SPEAKER_04: There was an amazing PlayStation 2 game that was called Mary Kate and Ashley Sweet 16.
- 1:14:09SPEAKER_01: Oh, I thought you were gonna talk about Daddy Daycare.
- 1:14:11SPEAKER_01: No, no, no.
- 1:14:12SPEAKER_04: We've moved on from Daddy Day Kate.
- 1:14:13SPEAKER_04: I do, which I do love.
- 1:14:15SPEAKER_04: But the the Mary Kate and Ashley Sweet 16 game was uh if anyone's ever played it, I'd love to know.
- 1:14:23SPEAKER_04: But I was absolutely addicted to it.
- 1:14:25SPEAKER_04: It was amazing.
- 1:14:26SPEAKER_04: It's like the graphics, I will say graphics don't do it justice.
- 1:14:30SPEAKER_04: They were in like little convertible cars, and you'd go around and you'd make cupcakes and you'd do like fashion shows and stuff, and you had to do like sort of little tasks with the friends.
- 1:14:41SPEAKER_01: You went like license to drive.
- 1:14:44SPEAKER_04: License to drive.
- 1:14:45SPEAKER_04: Yeah, they were getting their they were getting their license.
- 1:14:47SPEAKER_04: Oh wow.
- 1:14:48SPEAKER_04: Isn't it great?
- 1:14:50SPEAKER_04: Isn't it great?
- 1:14:50SPEAKER_04: It's so good.
- 1:14:52SPEAKER_04: Oh yes.
- 1:14:52SPEAKER_04: So they you do all of these like crazy tasks where they were yeah, they were on canoes.
- 1:14:57SPEAKER_04: It's so good.
- 1:14:58SPEAKER_01: It looks like those early Wii games where you where with the Nintendo Wii games with the um like you were on an island and you had to do all that's what it looks like.
- 1:15:08SPEAKER_04: I don't remember them looking that fucked.
- 1:15:11SPEAKER_01: This is the thing.
- 1:15:12SPEAKER_04: They look really, really crazy, actually.
- 1:15:16SPEAKER_04: They look so it looked so much more disturbing than I remember.
- 1:15:18SPEAKER_01: Very misleading on the on the box.
- 1:15:20SPEAKER_04: Wait, this is actually not how I remember their face.
- 1:15:22SPEAKER_04: Like, yeah, that they look crazy as hell.
- 1:15:25SPEAKER_01: Wait, what did you play it on?
- 1:15:26SPEAKER_04: We played on it's a pay PlayStation 2.
- 1:15:28SPEAKER_01: PlayStation 2.
- 1:15:29SPEAKER_04: Yeah, and they you were like, yeah, that's the one.
- 1:15:32SPEAKER_04: And you had like little you'd go in in their little cars and you'd do like fashion parades and stuff.
- 1:15:38SPEAKER_01: So what it used to be was that like this might be different versions of it because they used to, because obviously there's a PSP version, there was a game Game Boy Advance version.
- 1:15:48SPEAKER_04: So what I fear that they maybe did look that fucked, and maybe I've just chosen not to remember it.
- 1:15:52SPEAKER_04: That what yeah, I feel like maybe they I definitely remember them looking like that.
- 1:15:55SPEAKER_04: And the weirdest thing about this game was that my dad actually got really addicted to one of the games in it, like to the point where then we had to stop playing the PS2.
- 1:16:03SPEAKER_04: It was like it was shut away.
- 1:16:04SPEAKER_04: He got really addicted to like there was a sort of like kamikaze-esque game where you had to like try and get across the freeway.
- 1:16:10SPEAKER_04: And his friend came around one time, they like came to visit, yeah, and they would they didn't move for like nine hours.
- 1:16:16SPEAKER_04: They're playing Mary Kate and Ashley Sweet 16, trying to get their these like little pink convertible cars across the freeway, and it was almost impossible.
- 1:16:23SPEAKER_04: It was like such a difficult game.
- 1:16:24SPEAKER_01: That's a that's a normal game they just like put into the Yeah, yeah.
- 1:16:27SPEAKER_04: But the context of it was there was then these like basically but it's Mary Kate and Ashley's book.
- 1:16:31SPEAKER_04: Hey guys, let's go to the mall.
- 1:16:33SPEAKER_04: And my I could hear every time they my dad and his friend restarted the game, I could hear them go fuck fuck are they trying to get Mary Kate Ashley across to the freeway X.
- 1:16:41SPEAKER_06: It was so funny.
- 1:16:42SPEAKER_04: They got crazy addicted.
- 1:16:43SPEAKER_04: I can't even imagine that now.
- 1:16:45SPEAKER_04: Confiscated it.
- 1:16:46unknown: You more confiscated it.
- 1:16:47SPEAKER_04: Confiscated it.
- 1:16:47SPEAKER_04: We never moved on to PlayStation.
- 1:16:48SPEAKER_04: Not because of you, because of that because the PlayStation 2 was then we we never moved on to PlayStation 3 or Xbox.
- 1:16:54SPEAKER_04: We weren't allowed.
- 1:16:55SPEAKER_04: Because that game almost ruined us.
- 1:16:57SPEAKER_01: I don't remember this game at all.
- 1:16:59SPEAKER_04: I don't think anyone remembers that game, unfortunately.
- 1:17:02SPEAKER_04: But it was a huge part of my childhood.
- 1:17:05SPEAKER_01: They do look awful.
- 1:17:06SPEAKER_04: Don't they look crazy?
- 1:17:07SPEAKER_04: The graphics are so fucked.
- 1:17:09SPEAKER_01: The gra yeah, well, of the t of the time they were probably like somewhat decent, but also I I feel like they didn't probably didn't put a whole lot of money into it.
- 1:17:18SPEAKER_04: Into no, I don't think so, but it was such a great game.
- 1:17:24SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 1:17:24SPEAKER_04: You had to like race all yeah, there were there was all sorts of like friendship drama.
- 1:17:28SPEAKER_04: It was yeah, it was great.
- 1:17:32SPEAKER_01: Very much like the Barbie games of that time.
- 1:17:34SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I think it was I'm I'm like I don't know how we got our hands on it.
- 1:17:38SPEAKER_04: That's like another thing.
- 1:17:39SPEAKER_04: It's like how did we get our how did we get hold of that game at that time?
- 1:17:44SPEAKER_04: Where did we get that from?
- 1:17:46SPEAKER_01: This was a thing I was talking that I've heard some people talking about recently, but they were like they were like, you know what doesn't exist anymore is like m like games of the movie or the TV.
- 1:17:57SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 1:17:57SPEAKER_04: Well there was a great Harry Potter game on the play.
- 1:17:59SPEAKER_04: Oh, do you remember the one on the that was so good?
- 1:18:02SPEAKER_04: That was an amazing game.
- 1:18:03SPEAKER_04: The one where you went and got jelly beans.
- 1:18:05SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:18:05SPEAKER_04: That was such a good game.
- 1:18:07SPEAKER_04: And I they should have made I like I I mean, obviously, now it would be controversial, but that game was great.
- 1:18:13SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 1:18:13SPEAKER_04: That was the jelly bean, whatever we were doing.
- 1:18:16SPEAKER_04: That was really fun, though.
- 1:18:17SPEAKER_04: That was a great game.
- 1:18:18SPEAKER_01: But then, like that one that one makes sense to me, but they would do games that made absolutely no sense back then.
- 1:18:23SPEAKER_01: It'll be like any movie that it comes comes out to be a game.
- 1:18:25SPEAKER_01: There'll be a game.
- 1:18:26SPEAKER_01: I feel like there would have been a daddy daycare game at the time.
- 1:18:28SPEAKER_04: There probably was a daddy daycare game.
- 1:18:29SPEAKER_04: Those, yeah, definitely some kind of like Eddie movie, Eddie, Eddie Murphy game.
- 1:18:39SPEAKER_01: No single official title game.
- 1:18:42SPEAKER_01: So several games share similar patterns.
- 1:18:45SPEAKER_01: Oh it's quite a good idea to have a game where you have to there's one called Dream Daddy, a dad dating simulator.
- 1:18:51SPEAKER_06: That's a different kind of game, though.
- 1:18:53SPEAKER_06: That's a different kind of game.
- 1:18:55SPEAKER_01: Dream Daddy.
- 1:18:56SPEAKER_01: Okay, here's the here's the closest thing to it.
- 1:18:59SPEAKER_01: The DVD had a puzzle game on it where you could use the remote to match up puzzle pieces all the time right now.
- 1:19:06SPEAKER_04: See, that's also lost art that we've lost is the DVD menu stuff.
- 1:19:10SPEAKER_01: Yeah, which was so that was perfect at that time.
- 1:19:12SPEAKER_04: Some of that stuff was great.
- 1:19:14SPEAKER_04: Some of that stuff was better than the film.
- 1:19:15SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 1:19:16SPEAKER_04: It was we were all up in that.
- 1:19:18SPEAKER_04: I really, yeah, I really remember the games.
- 1:19:21SPEAKER_04: There was some crazy games that came out.
- 1:19:23SPEAKER_02: There were.
- 1:19:24SPEAKER_04: There was like really weird, there's also a really weird Sims game for this for the there was like a DS Sims game where you all you did was sort of walk around this town and like all you could really do was either paraglide or play racquetball.
- 1:19:39SPEAKER_04: There's only two options.
- 1:19:40SPEAKER_04: That's terrible.
- 1:19:41SPEAKER_04: Both options, the least relatable.
- 1:19:44SPEAKER_04: I was gonna say I would not want to do electro activity you could ever think.
- 1:19:47SPEAKER_04: That's all that was all it was.
- 1:19:48SPEAKER_04: It was so it was such a crazy game.
- 1:19:50SPEAKER_01: It was like, I want to get the the Sims game where you can play Racketball.
- 1:19:52SPEAKER_04: Yeah, it was cra.
- 1:19:54SPEAKER_06: It was crazy.
- 1:19:55SPEAKER_04: It was so and I remember being like, There's gotta be more to this.
- 1:19:58SPEAKER_04: There's got to be more to this game.
- 1:20:00SPEAKER_04: But the it never it never showed itself.
- 1:20:02SPEAKER_01: It's very much like of like uh when when game started migrating to like the phones and then they're getting back to the uh then they had nothing good in it.
- 1:20:10SPEAKER_04: They they lost me completely.
- 1:20:13SPEAKER_04: I remember there was a there was a game where you were just like jumping with a unicorn for ages, and that kept me going for like I would say like maybe four years.
- 1:20:24SPEAKER_04: You just had to on your phone.
- 1:20:25SPEAKER_04: No, it was on the PC.
- 1:20:26SPEAKER_04: On the PC.
- 1:20:27SPEAKER_04: On the PC.
- 1:20:28SPEAKER_04: It was a unicorn you just had to jump over things, and sometimes the things would be slightly higher, sometimes the things would be slightly lower, and all you'd do is go like that.
- 1:20:35SPEAKER_04: And I was I was loving it.
- 1:20:36SPEAKER_04: I loved it.
- 1:20:37SPEAKER_04: It was absolutely amazing.
- 1:20:38SPEAKER_01: The one that I remember a PC game that I cannot rem I cannot believe that I used to play.
- 1:20:44SPEAKER_01: It was it was a Simpsons game.
- 1:20:46SPEAKER_02: Yes.
- 1:20:46SPEAKER_01: And I say I say game, yeah.
- 1:20:48SPEAKER_01: What you would do was you could um go around the town like like a Google map, and you would just go into each place.
- 1:20:59SPEAKER_01: Just go into places.
- 1:20:59SPEAKER_01: That was that was it.
- 1:21:01SPEAKER_01: You could just see that, like it was like you could just see them.
- 1:21:03SPEAKER_01: You couldn't do anything.
- 1:21:04SPEAKER_05: You couldn't interact with any of them.
- 1:21:05SPEAKER_01: No, you couldn't you could just see them.
- 1:21:08SPEAKER_01: And I played that constantly as a child.
- 1:21:11SPEAKER_04: That's so funny.
- 1:21:11SPEAKER_04: There's something about the like what's like I liked about the club penguin of it all, isn't it?
- 1:21:14SPEAKER_04: Where you just like you just want to go into places.
- 1:21:17SPEAKER_04: I remember thinking that was like really fun to just like go in and like just sit there, you sort of stand, then leave again.
- 1:21:22SPEAKER_04: Like that was a really there was like a South Park game like that as well, where you just got like you just went into different places, and that was kind of it.
- 1:21:29SPEAKER_01: It's so low stakes, it's so like it's so low stakes.
- 1:21:33SPEAKER_04: I remember I really remember those games.
- 1:21:35SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:21:36SPEAKER_04: So wow.
- 1:21:37SPEAKER_04: I know it's all coming back.
- 1:21:38SPEAKER_04: I kind of can't believe it's 22 years ago.
- 1:21:41SPEAKER_01: That's 22 years ago this is 23 years ago.
- 1:21:44SPEAKER_01: No, this is 20 no, sorry, this is 20 years twenty-three years ago.
- 1:21:51SPEAKER_07: What have I done in that time?
- 1:21:53SPEAKER_07: Don't think about it.
- 1:21:55SPEAKER_07: Don't think about it.
- 1:21:58SPEAKER_01: Okay, this is the this is probably the only interesting piece of trivia.
- 1:22:01SPEAKER_01: The cast includes two Oscar winners, Regina King and Angelica Houston, and two Oscar nominees, Eddie Murphy and El Fanning.
- 1:22:09SPEAKER_04: Wow.
- 1:22:10SPEAKER_01: El Fanning, yeah, El Fanning is a new El a new um nominee.
- 1:22:15SPEAKER_04: It's it is just such a like I just don't understand what anyone's criticism of that movie would be.
- 1:22:22SPEAKER_04: Like what's the w where are the notes?
- 1:22:25SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 1:22:25SPEAKER_04: There's no notes for me.
- 1:22:28SPEAKER_01: It also grossed so much money on its body.
- 1:22:30SPEAKER_04: Of course, because it's like about load they've especially got loads of like child actors underpaid them.
- 1:22:35SPEAKER_01: It costs 60 million, which I'm guessing half went to any movie.
- 1:22:38SPEAKER_06: Yeah, fair, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:22:40SPEAKER_06: Gosh.
- 1:22:40SPEAKER_01: And then it it grossed 164 million.
- 1:22:42SPEAKER_06: That's crazy.
- 1:22:44SPEAKER_04: But he's so good in that movie.
- 1:22:46SPEAKER_01: So, okay, so when I was re-watching it.
- 1:22:48SPEAKER_01: You think he's bad?
- 1:22:49SPEAKER_01: I was re-watching it this morning.
- 1:22:51SPEAKER_04: Oh my god.
- 1:22:52SPEAKER_01: And because I hadn't seen it in years.
- 1:22:53SPEAKER_04: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:22:54SPEAKER_01: I had no like I don't I did not remember, I could not remember much about it.
- 1:22:57SPEAKER_01: But I was like, when it first starts, I was like, oh, he's on autopilot in this movie.
- 1:23:02SPEAKER_01: You think he's a bit crap?
- 1:23:03SPEAKER_01: At the beginning, very, very beginning, for like the first few minutes.
- 1:23:06SPEAKER_01: And then then he starts to get into it.
- 1:23:07SPEAKER_01: I'm like, okay, now I'm now he's trying.
- 1:23:11SPEAKER_04: Yeah, to be fair, maybe Eddie was just like he was just there for the paycheck.
- 1:23:15SPEAKER_01: I mean, he probably was.
- 1:23:16SPEAKER_01: This was his real kids era.
- 1:23:17SPEAKER_01: Yeah, he was making a lot of kids' movies.
- 1:23:20SPEAKER_04: God, that's so depressing.
- 1:23:21SPEAKER_04: I do think if you're that I mean, if you're that good that you can just walk in, do a kind of like hot, like half-assed job.
- 1:23:31SPEAKER_06: Yeah, and already that's enough.
- 1:23:32SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:23:33SPEAKER_06: Is huge.
- 1:23:34SPEAKER_01: So it's like around this time he did Doctor Doolittle, he did uh Daddy Day, he did um Shrek movies.
- 1:23:43SPEAKER_04: That's crazy to me that he didn't fully, because I always think that he's amazing in that film.
- 1:23:47SPEAKER_01: No, no, what I'm saying is like the beginning, I thought he was but he's actually he actually does like get into it.
- 1:23:52SPEAKER_04: What's so crazy to about Eddie Murphy in this film is that like apart from Donkey, like that is for me his premier role.
- 1:24:01SPEAKER_01: Really?
- 1:24:01SPEAKER_04: Like, I don't really I can't I don't really have a good sense of other things he's in.
- 1:24:06SPEAKER_01: Oh, see, I'm such a fan of Eddie.
- 1:24:08SPEAKER_04: Like, I have I've not re- I don't know Eddie Murphy is in loads of stuff.
- 1:24:14SPEAKER_04: But for me, that was like his kind of main thing, which is I would I think he'd probably hate to hear that.
- 1:24:21SPEAKER_06: That's like what I remember.
- 1:24:23SPEAKER_01: I don't know if anyone's ever probably said that to him.
- 1:24:25SPEAKER_06: Yes, I like really loved you in Daddy Daycare.
- 1:24:29SPEAKER_01: This is peak you for me.
- 1:24:31SPEAKER_06: Yeah, this is the best you've ever been, is in Daddy Daycare.
- 1:24:34SPEAKER_04: I just think it's such a great film.
- 1:24:36SPEAKER_01: It's really fun.
- 1:24:37SPEAKER_04: It was like way more fun than the little kid is so cute.
- 1:24:40SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:24:41SPEAKER_01: He's such a good actor.
- 1:24:42SPEAKER_01: Yeah, he's great.
- 1:24:43SPEAKER_01: His son is like also like he's not from what I was looking at.
- 1:24:47SPEAKER_01: He's not an actor.
- 1:24:48SPEAKER_01: He's not really an actor.
- 1:24:50SPEAKER_01: Um he's also really young.
- 1:24:52SPEAKER_04: He's a little, yeah, he's so cute.
- 1:24:55SPEAKER_01: Oh he does does beer parts and stuff now.
- 1:25:00SPEAKER_01: But he also hasn't been in anything since 2017.
- 1:25:02SPEAKER_01: Yeah, he's not really he's not acting.
- 1:25:04SPEAKER_07: No, damn.
- 1:25:06SPEAKER_07: He's just vibing.
- 1:25:08SPEAKER_07: He was probably cast because he was so cute.
- 1:25:10SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:25:10SPEAKER_01: He was really cute.
- 1:25:11SPEAKER_04: I love it.
- 1:25:12SPEAKER_04: It's such a good movie.
- 1:25:14SPEAKER_04: There's a really great bit where they all go to the park.
- 1:25:16SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 1:25:17SPEAKER_04: I love that bit.
- 1:25:18SPEAKER_01: There's so many good bits in it.
- 1:25:19SPEAKER_01: It's really fun, but like it's the only the only thing I will say, it just gets a bit repetitive.
- 1:25:23SPEAKER_06: Like it's just very much like Yeah, they basically is that they're like bad at it.
- 1:25:27SPEAKER_06: Kids go crazy, they figure it out, they're bad at it, kids go crazy.
- 1:25:31SPEAKER_06: And that's yeah, that that is true.
- 1:25:32SPEAKER_01: That's basically like and then the other thing that I will the only yeah, my only other criticism is that it's like but this is also because of it's it's of the time, is that how much they're like, oh, dads don't know how to do anything.
- 1:25:43SPEAKER_06: Like, and this is the Yeah, that's actually so true as a dad, not just that.
- 1:25:47SPEAKER_06: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:25:48SPEAKER_01: Hang on.
- 1:25:49SPEAKER_06: Yeah, that is actually so true.
- 1:25:50SPEAKER_01: It's gendered.
- 1:25:51SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and then Jeff Garland really pissed me off when he's like, Um, I can't change it, I can't change a diaper, I can't do it.
- 1:25:57SPEAKER_01: I can't like Oh my god, girl.
- 1:26:00SPEAKER_06: It is to be fair, it is actually quite a task.
- 1:26:04SPEAKER_06: To be fair, of like that, yeah, that like idea that the kids should stay home with the women is very much pressed in that film.
- 1:26:12SPEAKER_06: And the fact that like men are hopeless at looking after kids, which is like yeah, the it's of its time.
- 1:26:19SPEAKER_01: Again, it's of it's of its time.
- 1:26:20SPEAKER_01: It's of its time very much changed, like the very the perception of things is very different now.
- 1:26:24SPEAKER_04: Also, I feel like being a dad is kind of swish now.
- 1:26:27unknown: What do you mean?
- 1:26:28SPEAKER_04: Well, is it like that?
- 1:26:29SPEAKER_04: I I feel like being a I I came across this like being a dad in like Scandinavia is like very, it's like very cool.
- 1:26:35SPEAKER_01: Oh, very cool, right?
- 1:26:36SPEAKER_04: It's very cool, yeah.
- 1:26:37SPEAKER_04: Like, but like there's all sorts of like culturally in in like Sweden and stuff, there's like all the sort of a thing of there being like dads with their kids because they they also get paternity leave.
- 1:26:48SPEAKER_04: Oh there's like a whole thing there of like you often see dads meeting up with their their other dads and their kids.
- 1:26:53SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 1:26:54SPEAKER_04: And it's all it's just see, it's kind of seen as this sort of like quite cool hit vibe, which I'm sort of I kind of kind of into.
- 1:27:01SPEAKER_01: My dad, my my dad, my uh my Instagram algorithm is is a lot of at the moment, it comes up with a lot of like um cool dad fashion.
- 1:27:10SPEAKER_04: Oh I love it.
- 1:27:12SPEAKER_01: How to style with your kid.
- 1:27:14SPEAKER_01: What's your what's what of what have they taught you so far?
- 1:27:17SPEAKER_01: I'm not learning anything.
- 1:27:18SPEAKER_01: You're not a dad fashion.
- 1:27:20SPEAKER_04: It's also that it goes to the point where you're like, Am I using my kid as like a trinket?
- 1:27:23SPEAKER_01: That's what it feels like, that's what it looks like with those videos.
- 1:27:26SPEAKER_01: I'm like, oh, I'm it starts to get a bit like this is a bit much.
- 1:27:32SPEAKER_01: Sometimes you'll get ideas, you're like, oh, those those shoes look nice, but yeah, beyond that, you're like, I'm not gonna style dad maxing.
- 1:27:38SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it's very much dad maxing.
- 1:27:40SPEAKER_01: Dad maxing.
- 1:27:40SPEAKER_04: Do you think you're dadbaxing right now?
- 1:27:42SPEAKER_01: No.
- 1:27:43SPEAKER_01: No.
- 1:27:43SPEAKER_06: You don't have your kid with YouTube phones, it's not very dad maxing.
- 1:27:46SPEAKER_01: And this is the most I've talked about her on the pod so far.
- 1:27:49SPEAKER_01: Oh.
- 1:27:50SPEAKER_04: We have to dad take it.
- 1:27:52SPEAKER_01: Yeah, because that's what I mean.
- 1:27:52SPEAKER_01: Is it's the one that makes sense.
- 1:27:54SPEAKER_04: So true that it is a bit gendered, isn't it?
- 1:27:56SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:27:57SPEAKER_01: Yikes.
- 1:27:57SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:27:58SPEAKER_01: Yikes.
- 1:27:59SPEAKER_01: Having said that, it's It's still a very fun movie.
- 1:28:01SPEAKER_04: It's such yeah, it is a fun movie.
- 1:28:02SPEAKER_04: And also, like in in some ways, it's an argument that the men do can look after the kids.
- 1:28:08SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:28:09SPEAKER_07: You could argue.
- 1:28:11SPEAKER_07: Okay.
- 1:28:12SPEAKER_07: So actually, maybe it's quite quite forward-thinking.
- 1:28:14SPEAKER_01: When they get the especially when they get the guy that doesn't have a kid.
- 1:28:18SPEAKER_06: Yeah, that's true.
- 1:28:19SPEAKER_04: That was just quite actually ahead of its time.
- 1:28:23SPEAKER_04: Wait, that's yeah, they get the guy who's into Star Trek.
- 1:28:25SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:28:25SPEAKER_04: Kind of weird non-DBS guy who speaks going on.
- 1:28:29SPEAKER_04: This is the other thing, exactly.
- 1:28:30SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 1:28:30SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:28:31SPEAKER_01: He goes, uh I set up a daddy daycare.
- 1:28:33SPEAKER_01: I got uh I I um put in the paperwork yesterday.
- 1:28:36SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 1:28:36SPEAKER_01: That's not how that works.
- 1:28:38SPEAKER_04: That's not how that works.
- 1:28:39SPEAKER_01: This would take a very long time to set up.
- 1:28:42SPEAKER_04: Yeah, and they end it and they have like a whole school.
- 1:28:46SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I forgot about that bit.
- 1:28:47SPEAKER_01: Also, there's the whole stuff with Angelica Houston, who's like I feel like they really forget about that for a long part of the movie.
- 1:28:52SPEAKER_04: The mum.
- 1:28:53SPEAKER_01: The no, the um the rival school.
- 1:28:56SPEAKER_04: The rival school! That's a great bit.
- 1:28:59SPEAKER_01: It's great, but they do they do start it and then it makes like they set it up as like a a a big problem, but then it's like they forget about it for so long.
- 1:29:06SPEAKER_04: Yeah, that's true.
- 1:29:07SPEAKER_04: The pacing is bad.
- 1:29:08SPEAKER_04: Oh my god, the rival school's great.
- 1:29:10SPEAKER_04: It is, yeah, where they go and they're like all learning pig Latin.
- 1:29:12SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I remember thinking that that was such a great, a great bit.
- 1:29:15SPEAKER_04: They free them from the horrible school.
- 1:29:17SPEAKER_04: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:29:18SPEAKER_01: It's so funny because like we so we had to like look at and start looking at nurseries before she was even born.
- 1:29:25SPEAKER_01: Because this is how this is how intense it is.
- 1:29:26SPEAKER_04: Oh, just start applying.
- 1:29:28SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:29:28SPEAKER_01: So we were going through what essentially what they were going through.
- 1:29:32SPEAKER_01: And it is literally, it's that experience of like It's a nightmare.
- 1:29:37SPEAKER_01: It it it's that experience of like, it's either those awful ones or it's like the really fancy one like hers.
- 1:29:43SPEAKER_01: We found one, and it's still even with like so in England, um, if you're both in employment, you get 30 hours you can get 30 hours paid for by the government.
- 1:29:53SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 1:29:54SPEAKER_01: Still insanely expensive to go to those places.
- 1:29:58SPEAKER_01: It's crazy.
- 1:29:58SPEAKER_01: But and then but then but then you put in a deposit down a year before like six months before they're born, and it's like, what are you doing?
- 1:30:05SPEAKER_04: Is that what you have to do?
- 1:30:06SPEAKER_01: It's like basically like that.
- 1:30:07SPEAKER_01: Oh my god.
- 1:30:08SPEAKER_01: It's like, what are you doing?
- 1:30:09SPEAKER_04: God, that's so crazy.
- 1:30:12SPEAKER_04: That's crazy.
- 1:30:13SPEAKER_01: And then and then then then they don't she's not even started there.
- 1:30:17SPEAKER_04: You need a daddy daycare.
- 1:30:19SPEAKER_04: This is what it you need to start your own daddy daycare.
- 1:30:21SPEAKER_04: Maybe hey, look, there's lots of room in here.
- 1:30:24SPEAKER_01: This is probably one of the worst places to do it.
- 1:30:26SPEAKER_04: I think it's time to start daddy daycare in here.
- 1:30:28SPEAKER_01: She's been in here before.
- 1:30:29SPEAKER_04: Don't tell them upstairs, but I think actually I think you need to start.
- 1:30:33SPEAKER_01: She loves upstairs.
- 1:30:34unknown: Oh, thank you.
- 1:30:36unknown: She loves that.
- 1:30:37SPEAKER_06: I think you need to start content creating daddy daycare.
- 1:30:40SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:30:40SPEAKER_06: I think that's what I think that's that's what we're gonna do.
- 1:30:42SPEAKER_06: I'm gonna dad max daddy dad max and content max.
- 1:30:45SPEAKER_01: That's so funny.
- 1:30:46SPEAKER_01: Uh do you have anything else you want to talk about with Daddy Daycare before we move on?
- 1:30:49SPEAKER_04: I don't think so.
- 1:30:50SPEAKER_01: Do you have a uh reverse of this, which is a well-reviewed movie that you actually think is a bad movie?
- 1:30:56SPEAKER_04: Oh, do you know what I really hate and everything about it?
- 1:31:00SPEAKER_04: Iron Man.
- 1:31:01SPEAKER_01: There you go.
- 1:31:03SPEAKER_01: There we go.
- 1:31:03SPEAKER_01: Because that's people love Iron Man.
- 1:31:04SPEAKER_04: My issue with Iron Man is that he isn't actually a hero or augmented in any way.
- 1:31:10SPEAKER_04: And I personally believe, and the problem with the Avengers, people don't like this take, I will say, is that there are there are like a the some of the Avengers are like gods.
- 1:31:22SPEAKER_04: Like, and one of them is just like quite good at fighting.
- 1:31:25SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 1:31:26SPEAKER_04: Like they're competitive, and one of them has an arrow.
- 1:31:29SPEAKER_04: Like one of them's like some of them are superhuman.
- 1:31:33SPEAKER_04: I think that if you are a sorry, if you are a hero, like a superhero, you should be in some ways like a a cha like a sort of ultra human.
- 1:31:43SPEAKER_04: I think you can't just be like quite good at fighting.
- 1:31:46SPEAKER_07: So like Black Widow is just a fighter.
- 1:31:49SPEAKER_07: Yeah, just an assassin.
- 1:31:50SPEAKER_01: This is kind of the thing about because I think they kind of did this because of who they could get at the time.
- 1:31:58SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:31:58SPEAKER_01: In in with the rights.
- 1:32:00SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:32:00SPEAKER_01: Because if you look at this, the founding early members of in the comics are Iron Man, Thor, Hulk, yeah, Ant Man, Wasp and Captain America.
- 1:32:10SPEAKER_04: But Iron Man is just a guy with a suit.
- 1:32:13SPEAKER_01: But he's got high tech.
- 1:32:15SPEAKER_04: But he isn't the tech.
- 1:32:16SPEAKER_04: And my issue with Iron Man is that anyone could wear that suit.
- 1:32:20SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:32:21SPEAKER_01: That's true.
- 1:32:22SPEAKER_04: And anyone does, loads of people are in that suit throughout the franchise.
- 1:32:24SPEAKER_04: There's every man and his dog is in that suit at one point.
- 1:32:27SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 1:32:27SPEAKER_04: So I think also Tony Stark is is he's got a lot of a lot of confidence, a lot of ego, considering that he is just a man.
- 1:32:37SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:32:38SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:32:39SPEAKER_04: Well, he's nothing without his suit.
- 1:32:41SPEAKER_01: It's very much.
- 1:32:43SPEAKER_04: I mean, it's kind of similar, but it's very much the Elon Musk of he is so Iron Man is so the Elon Musk of he is the Elon Musk of the Marvel movie.
- 1:32:53SPEAKER_04: And he's so like once yeah, like once he's untethered, like there's nothing that he can't do anything.
- 1:32:59SPEAKER_02: No.
- 1:32:59SPEAKER_04: Like there is a man who is a little he's like a literal spider.
- 1:33:04SPEAKER_04: Like Tony Stark is is like good at coding.
- 1:33:06SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:33:07SPEAKER_04: That's completely like that.
- 1:33:08SPEAKER_04: And he gets just as much screen time as a man who turns into the hull.
- 1:33:13SPEAKER_04: I think that's crazy.
- 1:33:16SPEAKER_04: He gets so much screen.
- 1:33:17SPEAKER_04: He's got a whole franchise.
- 1:33:18SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 1:33:18SPEAKER_04: All he does is like he he has built something that make is like a machine.
- 1:33:24SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:33:25SPEAKER_04: That's crazy.
- 1:33:26SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:33:27SPEAKER_01: Well, now he's gone.
- 1:33:28SPEAKER_01: Now he's gone.
- 1:33:29SPEAKER_01: Although he's coming back.
- 1:33:30SPEAKER_04: I can't bear the new film coming out.
- 1:33:32SPEAKER_04: Please.
- 1:33:32SPEAKER_01: I don't know what they're doing there.
- 1:33:33SPEAKER_04: Please, please, please.
- 1:33:34SPEAKER_04: I also endgame.
- 1:33:36SPEAKER_04: We did it.
- 1:33:37SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:33:38SPEAKER_04: It's in the title.
- 1:33:39SPEAKER_04: That's what I mean.
- 1:33:39SPEAKER_04: Endgame.
- 1:33:40SPEAKER_04: That's that's endgame, guys.
- 1:33:41SPEAKER_04: You can't be doing more after that.
- 1:33:43SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:33:44SPEAKER_01: And then you go and watch.
- 1:33:45SPEAKER_01: Also, then the fact is, then you go and watch the Spider-Ver movies, and you're like, that's how that's so much better.
- 1:33:53SPEAKER_04: Yeah, to be fair, the Into the Spider movie, that's a great film.
- 1:33:56SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:33:56SPEAKER_04: The cartoon one is amazing.
- 1:33:57SPEAKER_01: That's what I mean.
- 1:33:58SPEAKER_04: And also like a way to do like to do superhero stuff that feels really like fresh and modern.
- 1:34:04SPEAKER_04: Taking it, like I loved that movie.
- 1:34:06SPEAKER_04: I thought it was great.
- 1:34:08SPEAKER_04: The marvel of it all.
- 1:34:10SPEAKER_04: Also, like if you then haven't seen like the Doctor Strange or whatever, like there's people coming into the mix and being like, I've got no idea what I've got no idea who you are.
- 1:34:18SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 1:34:18SPEAKER_04: Someone's like Chris Pratt's suddenly there.
- 1:34:20SPEAKER_04: It's like, I've got no, I don't care.
- 1:34:22SPEAKER_04: I don't care.
- 1:34:22SPEAKER_04: And it's so complicated.
- 1:34:23SPEAKER_04: And everyone who who's in the cinema is like, oh my god, it's yeah.
- 1:34:28SPEAKER_04: God, Tom Hardy is like venom.
- 1:34:31SPEAKER_04: Oh, please.
- 1:34:32SPEAKER_04: It's just too, it's too much.
- 1:34:34SPEAKER_00: And then you get shoehorned into them into the Marvel universe.
- 1:34:37SPEAKER_04: I used to go out with someone who loved Marvel, and I think that's also I was just like, and it there was always a like, you just have to see them all.
- 1:34:44SPEAKER_04: I'm like, I don't, and I think that like the fact that I have to see them all to understand what's going on is like I gave I stopped after Endgame.
- 1:34:51SPEAKER_01: And then after that, I was like, okay, I I've done it.
- 1:34:54SPEAKER_01: Like you said, it's it's done, it's over.
- 1:34:56SPEAKER_04: It's over.
- 1:34:56SPEAKER_04: It has to be over.
- 1:34:57SPEAKER_04: I'm happy to for Spider-Man to continue.
- 1:35:00SPEAKER_04: I'm happy for their own franchises to continue, but I think it's too much.
- 1:35:06SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 1:35:07SPEAKER_04: It's too much.
- 1:35:07SPEAKER_04: That's would be my Iron Man and all of the Marvel films.
- 1:35:11SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I think that's fair.
- 1:35:14SPEAKER_01: I also get it.
- 1:35:15SPEAKER_01: Like Iron Man was never a big one for me.
- 1:35:18SPEAKER_01: I never really understood that like the appeal.
- 1:35:21SPEAKER_01: He's just a kind of arsehole.
- 1:35:24SPEAKER_04: And and has like a computer.
- 1:35:26SPEAKER_04: He's Elon Musk.
- 1:35:27SPEAKER_04: That is true.
- 1:35:28SPEAKER_04: That's it.
- 1:35:29SPEAKER_01: That's how I've gotten described.
- 1:35:30SPEAKER_01: It's not my take of it.
- 1:35:30SPEAKER_01: Oh, right.
- 1:35:31SPEAKER_04: No, but that is genuinely it.
- 1:35:32SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 1:35:32SPEAKER_04: He's it's just yeah, no, no.
- 1:35:38SPEAKER_01: Yeah, fair enough.
- 1:35:40SPEAKER_01: But yeah, thank you so much for coming back.
- 1:35:42SPEAKER_01: Thank you so much for having me.
- 1:35:43SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:35:43SPEAKER_04: Um I feel like I've gone down memory lane.
- 1:35:45SPEAKER_01: Yeah, we've real, like real nostalgia for the project.
- 1:35:47SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:35:49SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:35:50SPEAKER_01: Um, how can people find you online?
- 1:35:53SPEAKER_01: And do you have anything you want to promote at the moment?
- 1:35:56SPEAKER_04: I am online at crazy minute on Instagram, and honestly, I got nothing to promote.
- 1:36:02SPEAKER_04: I'm doing my tour next year, but I'm just vibing.
- 1:36:04SPEAKER_01: Um, I saw, was it today or yesterday you put something up about you got like an you you're gonna announce it soon or yeah, yeah.
- 1:36:12SPEAKER_04: But that's TBC dates.
- 1:36:14SPEAKER_04: Oh, okay.
- 1:36:14SPEAKER_04: But it's gonna be I'm gonna do like a sort of fun London run and then probably like January, February is where we're looking.
- 1:36:21SPEAKER_01: Um Do you know where you're gonna be in London?
- 1:36:23SPEAKER_04: Probably a Soho Theatre, hopefully, if they if we get the dates down.
- 1:36:27SPEAKER_04: And then uh yeah, like lots of lovely faces around the UK, which would be great.
- 1:36:32SPEAKER_04: Yeah, but apart from that, I'm just like kind of vibing.
- 1:36:36SPEAKER_01: You're making a lot of great sketches.
- 1:36:37SPEAKER_04: I'm making I'm just kind of content creating.
- 1:36:39SPEAKER_04: I'm content maxing right now.
- 1:36:40SPEAKER_04: Me and Kathy.
- 1:36:41SPEAKER_04: Yeah, me and me and me and Kathy are going hard online.
- 1:36:44SPEAKER_01: Really fun.
- 1:36:47SPEAKER_06: That's it.
- 1:36:48SPEAKER_01: Yeah, great.
- 1:36:49SPEAKER_01: Well, thank you so much for coming back.
- 1:36:50SPEAKER_01: Thank you so much.
