- 0:23What a glorious day we find ourselves living today, my friends.
- 0:28I know you feel it.
- 0:29I know you're happy about it.
- 0:31I know you're just as happy about it as I am.
- 0:35Do you think the the hierarchy in Harvard is happy about it?
- 0:40Do you think they mean Harvard just they just cannot get out of the crosshairs?
- 0:48And you would think, though, that they would perhaps I don't know, learn their lesson, maybe that they would just stop being an arm of the Marxist Marxist regime.
- 1:06Ah, I mean, they're the oldest and the greatest, right?
- 1:11That's what we refer to them as.
- 1:13They are the oldest academic institution in the country that but yet they've been overrun.
- 1:19The great Harvard has been overrun.
- 1:21We've got a couple pieces we're going to get into today.
- 1:24But first, first, you know what today is.
- 1:29Today is an anniversary.
- 1:36In our mid-decade redistricting, redistricting battles that are taking place for our very eyes.
- 1:46Normally, we don't see these types of redistricting taking place mid-decade.
- 1:53We see them coming out of the census, but it's it's unfolding right now.
- 1:59State legislators are drawing up new maps.
- 2:04It happened because of Texas.
- 2:05Texas drew up a new map because they wanted to favor the Republicans.
- 2:10And so then California, they said, Well, if you're gonna do that, but we're gonna do the same, or we're gonna favor the Democrats, and then Illinois, and then so now we we've we've got this battle taking place, and it's you know, a lot of these cases have have gone to the to the courts, but it's because of today in 1812, when L Bridge Jerry, the governor of Massachusetts decided to redraw the map to favor his party, and and that's where we get our name gerrymandering because of L Bridge Jerry.
- 2:46Uh you know, the the map kind of looked like a salamander type thing, and so they renamed it Jerrymandering.
- 2:55That means that's just a play on words, and it stuck gerrymandering is now what we call it.
- 3:00So much fun, just just a little bit of history.
- 3:02That was today.
- 3:03That was today in 1812.
- 3:06I think we'll probably do a piece on that, maybe dive into more detail, more history of it on Substack, because we are this year celebrating the founding fathers, and Elbridge Jerry was a signer of the declaration.
- 3:23Were you aware of that?
- 3:24Did you know that the governor of Massachusetts in 1812 was a signer of the Declaration of Independence?
- 3:32Elbridge, he's he's actually one of our favorites around here.
- 3:37And yeah, we're gonna take some time uh and highlight him a little bit.
- 3:42We haven't got to the Massachusetts men yet.
- 3:44We haven't got to the signers from Massachusetts.
- 3:48Let's see, last week, Friday, last Friday we visited Maryland, and the Friday before that, we were, I think, Delaware.
- 3:58The Friday before that we did North Carolina, and the Friday before that, we did, which would have been our first Friday.
- 4:09We kind of laid out the the picture.
- 4:12We kind of talked about the battle for independence that that we just never hear of.
- 4:18And it was really the battle that that began in the debates, the battle that took place in Carpenter's Hall, now Independence Hall.
- 4:28We don't we don't hear those stories.
- 4:31We don't know the stories of the men who showed up to the that first general congress, as it's called, or the or the first continental congress, as sometimes it's called, it kind of goes by both names, and we are unaware that some of them showed up and they wanted to separate from Great Britain at the get-go, and others, the majority of them said no, we we don't want to separate, we want to stay under British rule.
- 5:04We just want to convince the British to treat us differently, to stop treating us like I mean, back in the 80s, we would refer to it as redheaded stepkids, and I don't know where that where that phrase comes from or why that simile.
- 5:19You're being treated like a red-headed stepchild.
- 5:22I mean, I don't know.
- 5:24It's it was just a thing.
- 5:25That's it was as it was a thing.
- 5:27I mean, I can't, I can't explain why.
- 5:31Uh I guess it means you're treated like a lesser then because you have red hair and you're a stepchild.
- 5:37I don't know.
- 5:38I don't know.
- 5:39But the there was a faction that that met for that general Congress that just they didn't want to be treated poorly, they wanted to stay in the family, they wanted to be treated like citizens, they wanted to be treated like actual children.
- 5:56And so we had this debate, and they were referred to at one group was referred to as moderates, and the other group was referred to as violence, uh, as in the violent ones, V-I-O-L-E-N-T, as opposed to ENCE, the violent ones and the moderate ones.
- 6:16And uh the the story, really that ultimate overall arching story is intriguing, and it's even more intriguing when you dive into the different men and and which side of the aisle they fell on.
- 6:31And it's it's really a picture of it's a picture of compromise.
- 6:37It's a picture of two sides coming together for one common cause, and I don't know that that we see it spelled out that way.
- 6:47And so that's that's really the the route we've been taking.
- 6:51And I absolutely love exploring the stories of the lives of these men and why they did what they did.
- 7:03Many of them did not vote for independence, but yet they still signed the document, pledging their lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honor, because it was the will of the people.
- 7:13And they said, all right, I didn't vote for it, but if it's the will of the people, I'm going to get behind it.
- 7:19It was really a different attitude.
- 7:22And I don't know that that attitude could ever be reclaimed.
- 7:26I mean, I'm sure it could be, but it's an attitude that we've lost in our in our debates today.
- 7:36There isn't there isn't this unifying, let's get behind the country sort of attitude.
- 7:43And the reason we don't have that is because one party in particular has been infiltrated by uh by a mindset that is heavily anti-American, and the infiltration of that party.
- 8:02It's it's it's the it's the Democrat Party, the infiltration of the Democrat Party in terms of having an anti-American mindset has really been happening for a long time.
- 8:15Years, decades.
- 8:18You could even argue centuries, maybe even since its beginning.
- 8:24I don't know about its beginning, but shortly thereafter, this party has been infiltrated.
- 8:32And so it's it's just a different attitude, and and it's a different mindset.
- 8:35But I said all that to say this: that on Fridays here on America Out Loud, we're taking some time to explore the men to explore who they were, to explore what they thought, what they believed, why they did what they did, and I love it.
- 8:50We were going to history class every Friday.
- 8:52I enjoy it.
- 8:53It's one of my favorite days of the week this Friday.
- 8:57I think we're gonna hit Pennsylvania this Friday.
- 8:59I've been looking forward to Pennsylvania because I'm so intrigued by what's happening in Pennsylvania at this time.
- 9:06They are housing, they are hosting, they are welcoming the general Congress, but yet the delegates aren't aren't on board.
- 9:18And we're gonna get to the we're gonna get to the whys and the hows and and kind of explore Pennsylvania in more detail.
- 9:25And then also on Substack, we're taking some time, and we're going to we're we're diving into even more detail than what we're doing here on the show.
- 9:37So if you've not subscribed to the Dean's list on Substack, for example, last Saturday, or I'm sorry, last last Friday, a week ago, we talked about the men from uh I want to say North North, you know, no Maryland.
- 10:00All right.
- 10:00Last weekend we talked about the men from Maryland.
- 10:05And we kind of revisited that on the Saturday Substack.
- 10:11Well, on Wednesday's Substack today, actually, today's Wednesday, right?
- 10:15So in today's Substack, what has come out is a little bit of more specific detail on Francis Hopkinson, one of the signers.
- 10:28And in terms of just some things that he uh, some things he did, some some things that things he's he stood for, some things that he um no, no, I'm sorry, this is New Jersey.
- 10:45This would have been uh on Friday we went to New Jersey and Francis Hopkins and I didn't really talk a lot about him on the show.
- 10:54I just I kind of mentioned him briefly.
- 10:56But in today's Substack, we've got a whole piece on Francis Hopkinson and how important he was to the movement, how important his wit and wisdom was to the movement.
- 11:08And this is you know, he was uh satirical, he was uh sarcastic, he was humorous, he was smart, he was funny, he was witty, and he displayed a lot of that in his writings, and it was important, it was important to the time, it was important to the people.
- 11:28So that's today, and uh what we're just having some fun with it, and uh we're gonna keep having fun with it.
- 11:35We're gonna keep exploring the lives of these men.
- 11:38So listen, I hope that you will join me on Substack.
- 11:42It's free.
- 11:42You can subscribe for for for free.
- 11:45I mean, you can you know there's there's there's a paid side also, the the free side gets posts every Wednesday, the paid side gets the Wednesday post plus uh a deep dive weekend edition, and um, you know, there's some other things, there's some uh historical exclusive videos that will be coming out on the paid side that that we're looking forward to and and planning out and preparing.
- 12:09So listen, if you want to join us over there, we would love, love, love to have you.
- 12:15It would be uh, it would be our our honor to host you on Substack.
- 12:22You know, and and I guess I'll say this.
- 12:24Speaking of 250 years, speaking of exploring who these men were, the signers of the Declaration of Independence.
- 12:33And speaking of hosting, hosting a party.
- 12:36If you haven't made plans yet for how you're going to celebrate 250 years this summer, why don't you join us in Nashville, Tennessee, July 2nd, July 3rd, July 4th?
- 12:48There's early bird pricing happening even right now until March 1st.
- 12:52You can get in on the early bird pricing.
- 12:55I suggest you do it in a hurry, though, because these tickets are going to sell out.
- 12:59Seating is limited.
- 13:01Uh join us in Nashville and be a part of just uh of just celebrating something beautiful.
- 13:08Uh be a part of taking in some world-class entertainment, some world class first in class voices speaking about beautiful things, the things that are going to help us uh keep our country moving in a positive direction for another 250 years.
- 13:29I mean, that's the focus of the conference, that's the objective.
- 13:33We're also celebrating 10 years of America out loud.
- 13:36Ah, it's just gonna be such a good time.
- 13:38All right, go to the go to the site, America Outloud.news, discover what you need to do to get registered, get your hotel room, get yourself there.
- 13:47It's going to be a great time.
- 13:50All right, I started this segment, but really, you know, wanting to dive into Harvard.
- 13:56Harvard is, as I said before I got on that little rabbit trail.
- 14:02Harvard is our oldest institution of academia.
- 14:06It's our greatest.
- 14:08But yet, it has come under.
- 14:13Um, what's the word I'm looking for?
- 14:15I want to say it's come under assault, but it it's really more than assault.
- 14:20It was it was a complete takeover.
- 14:21It was a coup.
- 14:22It was a coup that took over our oldest and greatest academic institution.
- 14:29And over the years, over the decades and centuries, Harvard, and we've watched it unfold really in the last, well, in my lifetime.
- 14:41We've watched it almost shift to become very well.
- 14:48If I said anti-American, you think that's too strong.
- 14:51We've watched it become anti-American.
- 14:53You think that that's too strong of language?
- 14:56I mean, I think it's consistent.
- 14:58I don't know that it's, I don't think it's too strong.
- 15:01I think it would be a consistent statement.
- 15:04Uh, and that's something that Secretary of War Pete Heggseth has not only alluded to, but almost just came right out and said it February 6th, just a couple days ago.
- 15:16He announced that the Pentagon is going to cut all academic ties with Harvard.
- 15:21And his words, he said, because the institution no longer meets the needs of the war department or the military service.
- 15:28And then when he went into detail then to what those needs are, he said the Pentagon is discontinuing graduate level professional military education, fellowships, and certificate programs with Harvard beginning next fall.
- 15:47The 2026-2027 academic school year for all active duty service members.
- 15:54Well, what does that mean?
- 15:56What is that uh what does that look like?
- 16:00He said the policy will apply to service members enrolling in future courses, but military personnel already enrolled at Harvard will still be allowed to finish their courses um that they've already enrolled in.
- 16:14So this is a reference to any any future courses that they're stopping.
- 16:19Those that are in them, they're gonna finish them.
- 16:21And then Heg Seth says, We're done.
- 16:24That's it.
- 16:25Our partnership, our relationship with Harvard is going to come to a screeching halt.
- 16:32He said, for too long, this department has sent our best and brightest officers to Harvard, hoping the university would better understand and appreciate our warrior class.
- 16:43Instead, he said, too many of our officers came back looking too much like Harvard, heads full of globalist and radical ideologies that do not improve our fighting ranks.
- 16:58So what does that tell you about Harvard?
- 17:03In Hegseth's opinion, Harvard has become more of a globally minded institution than an American-minded institution.
- 17:13And this is almost the fight that we find ourselves in.
- 17:17Either you're, at least here within our country, either you're pro-America, or you're pro-globalist.
- 17:26Either you're for the country, either you're America first, or you're the globe first.
- 17:31You're a globetrotter, as it were.
- 17:35These are the battle lines, and and we're watching these battle lines unfold.
- 17:39We you know, it's kind of like this this Olympic skier the other day.
- 17:44I'm not gonna say his name.
- 17:45He just ticks me off.
- 17:47You know, where he he's on the global stage.
- 17:52And he's ripping on America on the global stage, and the globalists love that.
- 17:57They just they love it, they're all about it.
- 17:59That's what they want to hear, it's what they want to see.
- 18:02They want to see Americans ripping on America on a globalist platform.
- 18:10I mean, is there anything more global than the Olympics?
- 18:14I mean, that's a global platform, and it's a global platform that is widespread.
- 18:21Everybody is watching the Olympics.
- 18:24It's not just a political thing, it's an athletic event.
- 18:28Everybody's tuned in.
- 18:30I don't know about everybody here in America, especially after that little charade.
- 18:36I don't know that we're interested in it.
- 18:38I mean, yes, we are.
- 18:40We we still love the athletes.
- 18:42We still support the athletes, but not that guy, not that guy who said, I'm not here for America, I'm here for my friends and family.
- 18:49That's why I'm here.
- 18:51These are the battle lines.
- 18:54You're either pro-America or you're you're pro-globalism.
- 18:59You're you're your MAGA.
- 19:01Make America great again.
- 19:02You're America first.
- 19:04You're in line with with the Trump agenda and the Trump policies.
- 19:08You're in line with a strong border.
- 19:10You're in line with protecting our our citizens and keeping our city streets safe.
- 19:16You're in line with defending the homeland.
- 19:19Or you're in line with, well, let's all be a citizen of the globe.
- 19:23Let's let's open the border, and let everybody pour in.
- 19:26We don't need a constitution.
- 19:30This is where we find ourselves.
- 19:32And this is what Hegseth is saying that Harvard has chosen which side of this line they're on.
- 19:40And he's saying, look, our officers are coming back looking like globalists and and radical, uh, full of radical ideologies.
- 19:49And they're not improving our fighting ranks because that's not they're not America first.
- 19:54They're they're they don't have this concept or this idea of being of being pro-America, and that's a problem.
- 20:01And Harvard, they've got to know this.
- 20:05And they've got to, you know, they're doing it on purpose.
- 20:08This isn't something that Harvard is saying, oh, we didn't, we didn't realize this was happening.
- 20:13We better change.
- 20:13We love America.
- 20:15That's not the response that Harvard is giving.
- 20:19You know, when Trump said, hey, we we're gonna withhold this funding unless you start, you know, being more in line with the direction we're gonna go.
- 20:28Harvard didn't get in line.
- 20:30I mean, other Ivy League schools got in line, whether uh in reality or in word or deed only, I don't know.
- 20:38But Harvard didn't.
- 20:39Harvard filed a lawsuit.
- 20:41Harvard fired off a lawsuit.
- 20:43They they doubled down.
- 20:46They they know where they stand on this.
- 20:49They get it, they understand which side of the of the of the argument they're on, and they're on that side on purpose.
- 20:55And and Hegseth, good for him.
- 20:58He's making a stand.
- 20:59It's a pro-America stand, ultimately.
- 21:02It's a stand for the country.
- 21:03And and we we love Heg Seth for doing it.
- 21:07We absolutely love Pete Heggseth for getting on on board this train.
- 21:11All right, I'm looking at the clock.
- 21:13We're up against it.
- 21:14Let's wrap up segment number one.
- 21:16I want to dive more into uh Hegseth's comments on the other side of this break.

- 25:14All right, back to Hegeth here, because he's saying important things.
- 25:19And I want to make sure that we're catching it.
- 25:22You know, ultimately he's saying our oldest and greatest institution has sided with the globalists.
- 25:32They're not siding with America here.
- 25:35They're siding with the globalists.
- 25:37He said Harvard is no longer a welcoming institution for military personnel.
- 25:42Citing the academics partnership with the Chinese Communist Party.
- 25:55How is that a thing?
- 25:56How are we letting this happen?
- 25:57And where are these partnerships unfolding?
- 25:59Well, Hegeth tells us.
- 26:01He says on campus research programs.
- 26:04And a campus culture, he said that enables attacks on Jewish students and promotes discrimination based on race and violation with Supreme Court decisions.
- 26:15All right, campus research programs.
- 26:18Were you aware that Harvard had aligned itself with the CCP on campus research programs?
- 26:26Do you know what this is akin to?
- 26:29This would be like in the 80s in the early 80s.
- 26:33Harvard aligning itself with the uh the USSR on campus research programs, aligning itself with the Soviets.
- 26:44There's nothing different here.
- 26:46Communism, my friends, is communism.
- 26:49And the CCP is the new KGB.
- 26:54I mean, they're they're the new Russia here.
- 26:59They are the communist leaders of the globe.
- 27:03And they want nothing more but to end American dominance.
- 27:10And we've got Harvard.
- 27:12Uh joining him in research programs.
- 27:16I just I don't, I don't, I don't get it.
- 27:19In a separate post on X.
- 27:22Hegseth said Harvard was promoting woke ideology, which goes against the war department's values.
- 27:30The the the Pentagon and military services, he said, will also evaluate similar relationships with other Ivy League schools and civilian universities in the coming weeks.
- 27:43He is on a mission here to end all ties with these universities that are that they've chosen a side.
- 28:01He said the goal is to determine whether or not they actually deliver cost effective strategic education for future senior leaders when compared to say public universities and our military graduate programs.
- 28:24Why not just funnel our our officers there?
- 28:27Why do we?
- 28:42Okay.
- 28:43But we can't be sending them to universities that refuse to not be woke and not engage in this and this type of I don't know, ideology and this type of belief that um that the globe is better than America.
- 29:06So kudos here to Heg Seth.
- 29:09Kudos to Hegseth for saying, hey, we're we're moving forward, and we are moving forward with a pro-America stance, unlike any administration that is, you know, ever been in existence.
- 29:25And now in the meantime, in addition to Trump, I'm sorry, in addition to Heg Seth saying, look, we're pulling our officers out of Harvard, they're too woke.
- 29:34Trump announced a few days earlier that he's seeking a billion dollars in damages from Harvard.
- 29:42I mean, holy smokes, what is going on at Harvard?
- 29:48I just he uh his administration labeled Harvard strongly anti Semitic.
- 29:55He said, We are now seeking one billion dollars in damages.
- 30:00And want nothing further to do with Harvard in the future.
- 30:04And this is what he wrote on Truth Social.
- 30:07We're seeking a billion dollars in damages.
- 30:10And we want nothing further to do into the future with Harvard University.
- 30:14That's the uh that's the direct quote.
- 30:17We're severing all ties with Harvard.
- 30:20Uh now we know last year he attempted to freeze billions of dollars in federal funding from Harvard.
- 30:27This came on the heels of an investigation into DEI initiatives, as well as claims of anti-Semitism.
- 30:36The White House said last April that Harvard had failed to protect its students from harassment and violence on campus.
- 30:45Here's what Trump wrote.
- 30:47He said, Harvard has been for a long time behaving very badly.
- 30:52They wanted to do a convoluted job training concept, but it was turned down in that it was wholly inadequate and would not have been, in our opinion, successful.
- 31:04It was merely a way of Harvard getting out of a large cash settlement of more than 500 million dollars, a number that should be much higher for the serious and heinous illegalities that they have committed.
- 31:18Trump also accused Harvard of feeding a lot of nonsense to the New York Times, but then he did not provide further details as to what that nonsense was.
- 31:31Um I'm looking at this piece here out of the Epoch Times.
- 31:38Epoch says they reached out to Harvard for a comment, but Harvard did not reply at the time of publication.
- 31:48Of course, we know that Jewish students at Harvard uh heavily reported incidents of harassment following October 7th, 2023.
- 32:00Uh, the uh the the Hamas-led attacks against Israel.
- 32:07Uh a student sued the school.
- 32:09Uh they they sued its former president Claudine Gay, who resigned after a horribly pathetic congressional testimony.
- 32:20Um that uh you know, Congress held hearings on uh anti-Semitism on college campuses and her testimony was just horrific.
- 32:30Um she resigned shortly thereafter.
- 32:34A lot of the uh a lot of the the presidents at that point began to resign.
- 32:41The leadership, it would seem at these vaunted academic universities was coming unraveled.
- 32:50Um, those who were still in charge and the governing boards, that this is where this stuff lies.
- 32:58It lies at the governing boards, it's at their feet.
- 33:02Uh the the current president of Harvard, Alan Garber, uh rejected a list of conditions outlined by federal anti-Semitism task force.
- 33:13This is when you know Trump said, Hey, we we want you to look, let's work this out.
- 33:19You know, we're we'll keep the money flowing to you.
- 33:23But there's a checklist here that we want you to agree to that we want you to come on board with.
- 33:30And Garber said no, and we're not going to come on board this checklist, and instead, we're going to file a lawsuit because this is akin to you taking over our institution and our right to free speech and blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
- 33:45Whatever.
- 33:46This was last April.
- 33:48Um, so he filed a lawsuit uh seeking to restore the almost 2.2 billion dollars in grants that the Trump team had said they were going to withhold.
- 34:04It's a lot of money.
- 34:06It's a lot of money.
- 34:07And Garber's, ah, we we need that money.
- 34:09We need that.
- 34:10We need that 2.2 billion.
- 34:11I mean, I get it.
- 34:122.2 billion.
- 34:15Uh later, a federal judge reversed the funding freeze, ruling that the government violated the First Amendment, Harvard's first amendment through its efforts to combat anti-Semitism.
- 34:30The uh the Department of Justice has since appealed that decision.
- 34:36And Trump also issued a proclamation in June of 25 seeking to end Harvard's visa program for international students, prompting the university to file another legal challenge.
- 34:52And several other Ivy League schools, including Columbia, Brown.
- 34:59Um, you know, they were also, you know, part of this list where you know Trump gave them a list and said, hey, you guys are, you know, we want you to to comply.
- 35:08And they have reached agreements with with the Trump team.
- 35:12They've accepted certain government demands, and they've said, yeah, we we will comply with these things.
- 35:18Uh and in addition to that, Columbia agreed to pay more than 220 million to the government, and Brown said it will pay 50 million to support local workforce development.
- 35:31So you've got Brown, you've got Columbia, and they've said, hey, look, we want to um we want to be on board.
- 35:39Okay, we want to be in compliance with what the federal government wants us to do here.
- 35:48And on the flip side of that, you've got Harvard, and Harvard's like, no, we're not, we're not gonna be in compliance.
- 35:55We're not gonna do anything.
- 35:56We're we're gonna we're gonna we're gonna double down.
- 36:00We're Harvard for crying out loud.
- 36:02It's what we do.
- 36:02We we we double down.
- 36:05So, I mean, in this doubling down, you've got Heg Seth pulling out the officer program, and then you've got Trump announcing, hey, we're we're going after these guys.
- 36:16We are what what's the amount again?
- 36:191 billion dollars in damages.
- 36:21We're gonna sue Harvard for a billion dollars in damages.
- 36:25Now, I don't know what that suit looks like.
- 36:28I don't know.
- 36:29Um it appears that that Trump has been, as of late in these lawsuits that he's been engaging in, he's been successful.
- 36:40I mean, you know, but personally, uh on a personal note for in terms of Trump's perspective.
- 36:49He's had these media companies paying him millions of dollars.
- 36:54I mean, ABC.
- 36:56Um, I don't think they're the latest.
- 36:58I mean, he's going after, I don't know, I don't even know what the list looks like.
- 37:03He's been successful, though.
- 37:04And we're we'll see.
- 37:05We're gonna see how this how this thing unfolds in terms of what um of what this billion-dollar lawsuit looks like, and in terms of what it means for Harvard, you know, we'll see.
- 37:22In the meantime, however, this whole thing began because of DEI.
- 37:29Diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- 37:31This horrible ideology that had infected academia, infected it with a disease that is debilitating to people individually, and it's debilitating to the country as a whole.
- 37:47And so Trump came in and he said, Look, we're gonna put an end to this.
- 37:51We are going to stop diversity, equity, and inclusion because it's awful.
- 37:56It's it's not American.
- 37:59It doesn't speak to the the time-tested time, I guess time tested as the best way to describe it, the time-tested values that are at the foundation of our country.
- 38:14They're at the foundation of the Declaration of Independence, which we're celebrating here this year.
- 38:19They're at they're at the heart of everything.
- 38:22And Trump said we we've got to get in there, and we've got to get rid of it.
- 38:27So, in light of that, a lot of states, according to this piece here by our friend at the Epoch Times, Aaron Gifford, Gifford gets it done.
- 38:38His headline here is some states eyeing more extensive anti-DEI measures and higher education.
- 38:44And he's he's specifically uh referring to Arizona.
- 38:50He says in Arizona, the Freedom from Indoctrination Act is expected to go to a public referendum.
- 38:57This is according to the to the Goldwater Institute.
- 39:00So there's some things happening here on the state level that uh we are going to continue going after diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- 39:12We have to.
- 39:13If if we don't continue going after this behemoth, then uh we will have maybe won some battles, but if we don't continue going after it, we we will lose the war.
- 39:29Because this is at the root of the destruction of higher education.
- 39:35I'll say it this way DEI is at the root of destruction of education, period.
- 39:40And it's not just DEI.
- 39:42DEI is one infection, but critical theory in and of itself is is another.
- 39:50And tied into all this is gender ideology.
- 39:53That's that's the glue that's keeping it together.
- 39:56And that, by the way, that is is coming undone.
- 40:00You know, before I before I get into this Gifford piece, um, there was something here that uh the Epoch Times put out that I want to, it was another um, and it was just uh ironic.
- 40:19I kind of found it.
- 40:21Oh, yeah, here it is.
- 40:22The piece is entitled Second Major Medical Group walks back support for child gender surgeries.
- 40:30You want to know what the group is?
- 40:32Okay, the the first group, by the way, um was uh some type of surgeon surgeon.
- 40:39Oh, it was the American Society of Plastic Surgeons.
- 40:44Uh, in in the in the absence of clear evidence, the American Society of Plastic Surgeons stated surgical interventions in minors should be generally deferred to adulthood.
- 40:56Uh, the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, this was on February 3rd, said it recommends surgeons not to carry out gender-related surgeries, such as the removal of breasts or genitals until the patient is at least 19.
- 41:11Uh and so then the second group is the American Medical Association.
- 41:19The American Medical Association told the Epoch Times also that evidence for gender-affirming surgical intervention in minors is insufficient for us to make a definitive statement.
- 41:32Uh so this this whole this whole thing, this whole ideology is coming unraveled at uh at and on the medical side.
- 41:42And the only reason, though, and here's the here's the the humorous thing.
- 41:47I mean, it's not humorous.
- 41:49I don't mean to make light of it because there's nothing funny about it, but the only reason these guys are doing this, these organizations are doing this, it's because of this lawsuit, this $2 million lawsuit that just came out of New York, where this girl now 25 had a massectomy when she was 16.
- 42:07And she's saying I was I was depressed, I was all these things, and you changed my life forever, and I'm a minor.
- 42:16And her mom came out and said, Yeah, I and I signed off because they told me if I didn't, my daughter would be dead.
- 42:23She'd commit suicide.
- 42:24And so we had to go this route.
- 42:26Evil, absolutely evil.
- 42:32And and it's only because of this lawsuit.
- 42:35It's only because a jury made up of actual citizens who understand, who see what's going on here.
- 42:44They get it, they see it.
- 42:46They realize this way of thinking, this ideology that uh we're not sure about biological truth.
- 42:56This ideology that instead of helping these kids work through confusion and work through trying troubling times in their lives, we're gonna we're gonna tell them a lie, and that they're actually the other gender, they're trapped in the wrong body, God made a mistake.
- 43:14And she was awarded over, I think over two million dollars.
- 43:18And now we've got the the medical associations here in America coming unraveled and coming undone and just getting nervous because it's all about money to them.
- 43:29It's not about anything else but money.
- 43:31That's it.
- 43:32And so the I guess my point here is that the gender ideology portion of DEI is coming on unraveled on the medical front.
- 43:43And that's only the beginning.
- 43:46It'll come unraveled on every other front that there is to make it come unraveled on.
- 43:53And um and so here we but we've got to we've got to keep the pedal to the metal.
- 43:58We've got to keep the fight focused on the the ultimate destruction of DEI.
- 44:05If we do that, if we do that, then we will have some success.
- 44:11Will we have success?
- 44:13You know, ultimate uh academic success taking over education.
- 44:18In my opinion, in my humble opinion, our best bet at reclaiming education in this country is to is to reclaim it.
- 44:28It's to reclaim education.
- 44:31It's for everyday citizens to start educating their own kids.
- 44:37And whether you do that through uh homeschooling at your kitchen table, whether you do that through a co-op or you meet with other people, whether you do that through you starting a co-op or you starting a hybrid, or you starting a five-day program, or you you know, getting with a group of community members who are like-minded who could start a uh a homeschool co-op one day or a two, three-day hybrid, or a full-on five-day school.
- 45:06It this is it's up to us, and it's our time, by the way.
- 45:11We have a window of opportunity here.
- 45:13We have an opportunity to do this.
- 45:16That to me is our our best bet.
- 45:19That's our best approach.
- 45:21That's the best way to reclaim education in America.
- 45:26And I know it's that's a scary thing.
- 45:28It's a scary decision to to go after that.
- 45:31But you know what?
- 45:32We can do it.
- 45:33I believe we can do it.
- 45:35All right, my friends, we're up against the clock here.
- 45:37We'll pick up more from this Gifford article on the other side of this break.
- 45:41You're listening to the dean's list on America Out Loud Talk Radio.

- 46:36That's the miracle of sprouting.
- 46:38And I want to share that with you.

- 47:08Well, did you see Google quietly updated its AI principles removing its pledge not to use AI for weapons or surveillance?
- 47:18A promise they agreed to in 2018.
- 47:20Well, the American people have seen Google's track record.
- 47:23Prompt in the question, is Google an untrustworthy player in the AI race.
- 47:33Now is our time, my fellows.
- 47:37America outmaw.
- 47:49So in the same way that Hegstep has announced, hey, we're we're we're pulling out of it.
- 47:58We're pulling out of uh Harvard.
- 48:02Uh there are colleges and universities that are doing the same with their DEI programs.
- 48:09So for example, according to Aaron Gifford here in this piece, the women's and gender studies major at Texas AM will be phased out within three years.
- 48:21We're done.
- 48:22We're done with women and gender studies.
- 48:25Uh six courses across various majors were canceled before classes even resumed for the spring semester this year, the university announced.
- 48:37Uh administrators said in a January 30 statement that the instruction in question does not support the requirement under the university system's new policy for academic integrity.
- 48:50Because really, what do you, you know, women and and and gender studies?
- 48:54What are you gonna do with that except to be a leftist woke professor teaching others to be woke?
- 49:03I get it.
- 49:04That should not align with uh with new policies for academic integrity.
- 49:12In the past two months, 5400 course syllabi were reviewed.
- 49:17Faculty members and department heads work diligently to remove race or gender ideology references and courses that are unrelated to those topics.
- 49:28That's a big deal.
- 49:30Uh here's the quote from Tommy Williams, interim university president.
- 49:35He said, Strong oversight and standards protect academic integrity and restore public trust, guaranteeing that a degree from Texas AM means something to our students and the people who will hire them.
- 49:51Um of course he noted additionally that enrollment in the women's and gender studies program has continued to decline.
- 50:01Right along wokeism, right alongside uh what wokeism actually declining across the board from the standpoint that we have fewer young people identifying as the other gender.
- 50:17And now we have two medical associations pulling out of any blessing that they would give towards gender surgery.
- 50:33A review of legislation and campus reports indicate that in the months ahead, various states and some higher education institutions may go a step further under their own accord, by the way, and attempt to weed out political bias and academic instruction.
- 50:52Of course, we know that Trump's already pushed for an end to DEI practices across higher education.
- 50:59Um, through a series of executive orders, he he's he's done this.
- 51:07Uh Texas, Florida, and several other red states now have laws prohibiting DEI practices in conjunction with Trump's executive orders.
- 51:18In addition, Iowa, Kansas, North Carolina, Missouri, these four states have pending legislation related to the removal of DEI or critical race theory from their public colleges and universities.
- 51:32According to the National Conference of State Legislatures, Alabama staved off legal challenges to its law restricting divisive concepts in both K 12 and higher ed.
- 51:47Mississippi passed a similar law, but it was blocked for us by a federal judge, probably a leftist appointee.
- 51:54Tennessee's higher education freedom of expression and transparency act passed in 2023.
- 52:02It also has a divisive concepts clause.
- 52:06Colleges and universities are expected to investigate complaints from students or employees who report violations.
- 52:14The Goldwater Institute's Freedom from Indoctrination Act.
- 52:21This is a model legislation that the Goldwater Institute put out.
- 52:27Previously was adopted by Idaho lawmakers and North Carolina's university system board of governors.
- 52:35It prevents schools from mandating that students take courses promoting ideological activism as a graduation requirement.
- 52:44Well, why should that be a requirement to graduate?
- 52:48You better know how you got to take this course on ideological activism.
- 52:54No, sorry.
- 52:55Uh-uh.
- 52:58Although institutions are still allowing to offer such courses to willing participants, they're not making it a graduation requirement.
- 53:08Florida passed a similar law, prohibiting its public colleges and universities from requiring students to complete a sociology course.
- 53:19And Wyoming lawmakers were poised to adopt Goldwater's model legislation last year, but it was amended during the committee process, and Governor Mark Gordon vetoed it.
- 53:32We should probably check uh Wyoming, make sure everybody's okay in Wyoming.
- 53:36Well, this is the state of Cheney, though, isn't it?
- 53:39All right.
- 53:40Okay, good point.
- 53:41That's fair.
- 53:44Um in Louisiana, the proposed law was introduced last year, but didn't emerge from committees.
- 53:51Arizona governor Katie Hobbes vetoed the legislation and her state.
- 53:57But the same proposal is expected to go to a public referendum by 2027, if not this election year, according to Timothy Manella.
- 54:07He's the Goldwater Institute's higher education director.
- 54:12Manila told the Epoch Times that I don't believe universities can reform themselves internally.
- 54:17Public universities are supposed to be accountable to the public.
- 54:21We want these institutions to focus on education, not indoctrination.
- 54:28Of course, he's 100% correct.
- 54:31At the most local level, multiple schools decided to make changes based on input from administrators, faculty, or students.
- 54:40This includes dropping cultural diversity courses as general education requirements at some public universities in Texas, Arizona, and Iowa.
- 54:58A new general education requirement for two courses on race, power, privilege, and colonialism has been postponed until 2029.
- 55:08Not for reasons relating to restricting DEI, however, but for quote protecting faculty, staff, students, and Bates as an institution from federal attention and targeting, according to the college's news newspaper.
- 55:23So they're kind of hoping here that probably once Trump leaves office, they can kind of go back into their indoctrinating ways.
- 55:32And I think this is important that we that we pay attention to this.
- 55:38We know that there's going to be universities doing this, that they're just going to try to ride out the storm.
- 55:44And they are going to pick up indoctrination right where they left off, probably.
- 55:55But nonetheless, this this piece by by Gifford is encouraging.
- 55:59It's encouraging to note that some of these universities are doing it on their own.
- 56:06And the more the better.
- 56:08And we're not going to get 100% on this.
- 56:10We're not going to get 100% turnout, especially in leftist states like Maine.
- 56:15And other states that are led and spearheaded by Marxists.
- 56:20It's just not going to happen.
- 56:21But nonetheless, we'll take it in baby steps at the higher education level.
- 56:27We will.
