- 0:01Speaker 1: You're listening to Bill Handle on demand from kf I
- 0:04Speaker 1: AM six forty.
- 0:12Speaker 2: Is Neil Savedra mentioned in the Epstein Files. Oh there
- 0:18Speaker 2: is Jeff Epstein talking about someone with a bald head
- 0:22Speaker 2: and the goatee.
- 0:23Speaker 3: And whoa you just called Jeffrey Epstein? Jeff, Yes, whoa JS.
- 0:30Speaker 2: No, we go back among those of us that were
- 0:32Speaker 2: fairly close. He is Jeffy baby. And now handle on
- 0:37Speaker 2: the news, ladies and gentlemen. Here's Bill Handle. Good morning everybody,
- 0:46Speaker 2: Bill Handle. Warning crew, it is a Tuesday, Taco Tuesday,
- 0:51Speaker 2: February the third, and here we go yet another day
- 0:56Speaker 2: and a lot of fun that we when we speak
- 1:01Speaker 2: between the breaks before the show starts. But first let
- 1:04Speaker 2: me say hello. Will I'm gonna say hello to you
- 1:06Speaker 2: because I can see you now. You're first up. Good morning.
- 1:10Speaker 3: Hello.
- 1:11Speaker 2: You have a on your T shirt the ZANDAM. That
- 1:15Speaker 2: is a haul in America cruise ship. It is. And
- 1:18Speaker 2: you know what, coincidentally, and I didn't plan this, this
- 1:20Speaker 2: is national go take a cruise day. Oh, not knowing that.
- 1:25Speaker 2: And I have, by the way, my first, my very
- 1:27Speaker 2: first cruise I ever took was on a haul in
- 1:29Speaker 2: America ship. Yeah, and so I'm sorry. Yeah, I mean
- 1:37Speaker 2: they're pretty good. And this is the way it works.
- 1:40Speaker 2: I mean, there's no racism aboard these ships. Right, it's
- 1:43Speaker 2: a Zandam or the Hall of America is Dutch, so
- 1:46Speaker 2: the officers are all Dutch, the entertainment is all American,
- 1:51Speaker 2: and the manual labor is all Indonesian. Okay, Filipinos, right,
- 1:58Speaker 2: anything in the Filipino the office, well, I don't think
- 2:02Speaker 2: there's any Filipino ship or ship line out there, but
- 2:07Speaker 2: French lines. Officers are all French. The entertainment is always
- 2:12Speaker 2: American because Americans cruise more than anybody else. And then
- 2:15Speaker 2: the staff, the clean up staff, the cooks, etc. Are
- 2:18Speaker 2: all insert name of major ethnic group that is in
- 2:21Speaker 2: that country. The striations are I mean, it is so
- 2:27Speaker 2: clear cut. It's like you know you make those jello
- 2:30Speaker 2: moles where you have different colors of jello. Where green
- 2:34Speaker 2: that's the seventies? Yes, different. Yes, that is what cruise
- 2:39Speaker 2: ships personnel are like, or how they're dispersed among the ships.
- 2:45Speaker 3: Would you ever do one of those around the world
- 2:47Speaker 3: or you know, I was thinking about that.
- 2:49Speaker 2: I would say, I mean they're pretty pricey. I mean
- 2:51Speaker 2: they run the cheapest you can do them is probably
- 2:53Speaker 2: sixty sixty seventy thousand dollars. But you're on the ship
- 2:57Speaker 2: ninety days or one hundred or one hundred and five days.
- 3:00Speaker 2: That's a long time to be on the ship. And
- 3:03Speaker 2: unless you're willing to spend a couple of one hundred
- 3:05Speaker 2: thousand dollars, Uh, you know that's it gets pretty cramped
- 3:10Speaker 2: for a very long time. Now. It's a it's a
- 3:13Speaker 2: uh definitely is a bucket list where some people will
- 3:17Speaker 2: say when I retire, I'm going to take a chunk
- 3:20Speaker 2: out of my retirement and I'm going and uh, there's
- 3:24Speaker 2: some people do there's I was on a trip. I
- 3:26Speaker 2: was on a ship I remember which one. Maybe it
- 3:28Speaker 2: was a Regent ship where uh, there was a couple
- 3:32Speaker 2: from Beverly Hills that lived on the ship, lived on
- 3:36Speaker 2: it and it was actually cheaper to live on the
- 3:39Speaker 2: ship than to live at home.
- 3:41Speaker 1: That's what That's what I'm hearing is that, Yeah, but.
- 3:43Speaker 2: It's a one but it's a one room. It is
- 3:45Speaker 2: a room. It's a well yeah, but you're living in
- 3:50Speaker 2: one room in a city.
- 3:52Speaker 1: Not when I'm partying, do get a little tired?
- 3:55Speaker 2: I mean it's the same. Yeah, I mean, the same
- 3:58Speaker 2: menu goes around and around, right, enough of that. Amy,
- 4:02Speaker 2: Good morning, Hi Bill, Hi there, and good morning, good morning,
- 4:07Speaker 2: and Cono there you are, good morning. And there's a
- 4:11Speaker 2: lovely Neil still with still with his background of Amy
- 4:17Speaker 2: with shadow and boxer or whatever.
- 4:21Speaker 3: That lovely picture of Amy. I thought it'd be nice
- 4:24Speaker 3: to have over my shoulder.
- 4:26Speaker 2: Yep, all right, you guys ready to do it. We've
- 4:28Speaker 2: got a how unusual do we have a fair amount
- 4:31Speaker 2: talk about? Oh? You bet you? It's time for handle
- 4:35Speaker 2: on the news and of course, oh my goodness with Amy,
- 4:39Speaker 2: Neil and me, and what a shocker is it about
- 4:42Speaker 2: Donald Trump? It is? Okay, So yesterday, Donald Trump is
- 4:54Speaker 2: in the middle of an interview with former FBI director
- 4:57Speaker 2: Dan Bongino, who left resigned as posts in December and
- 5:01Speaker 2: return to his podcast career. So he's being interviewed. Trump
- 5:05Speaker 2: is being interviewed by Bongino or Bongino and things Bongino
- 5:09Speaker 2: and out of the blue. And of course he's fixated
- 5:13Speaker 2: with the twenty twenty election that has not stopped. I mean,
- 5:16Speaker 2: it's like the most important thing in life to him.
- 5:18Speaker 2: And he called on Republicans to take over and nationalize
- 5:23Speaker 2: the voting, put it into Republican hands, take it away
- 5:26Speaker 2: from the states, and certainly take it away from the Democrats,
- 5:28Speaker 2: where only the Republicans will determine how the voting goes
- 5:33Speaker 2: during the twenty twenty six mid terms. And you know,
- 5:39Speaker 2: he told Bongino, it's amazing the Republicans aren't tougher on.
- 5:43Speaker 2: And he's talking about the alleged voting inaccuracies, non citizen
- 5:48Speaker 2: voting that improperly influenced election outcomes. Because all illegal migrants
- 5:55Speaker 2: are Democrats. There's no such saying as an illegal migrant
- 5:57Speaker 2: who is a Republican, of course, and he only wants
- 6:00Speaker 2: those states. He only wants those states that went to
- 6:03Speaker 2: Joe Biden. The rest of them don't need the Republican help.
- 6:07Speaker 2: Haven't We had.
- 6:08Speaker 3: Studies that have shown that any of that kind of
- 6:12Speaker 3: interference is minuscule.
- 6:13Speaker 2: Absolutely, there is no widespread fraud at all at all.
- 6:17Speaker 3: There isn't any competing studies that have said no, it's
- 6:22Speaker 3: all the studies have come bined and said, I'm not
- 6:25Speaker 3: a big fan of not showing your ID at the voting.
- 6:29Speaker 2: Oh me neither. I think it's it turns out that
- 6:31Speaker 2: all reports are saying you know what, widespread fraud does
- 6:35Speaker 2: not take place in any case. So here's the problem.
- 6:40Speaker 2: Any other president saying this, of course we would all
- 6:43Speaker 2: reel and go, oh my god, how crazy it is.
- 6:46Speaker 2: The problem with Donald Trump is there is I think
- 6:49Speaker 2: a good chance that he will issue an executive order
- 6:53Speaker 2: saying that states now no longer control their elections. It
- 6:58Speaker 2: is now in the hands of Congress, which, by the way,
- 7:04Speaker 2: of course the Constitution. But let me also tell you
- 7:06Speaker 2: what he's done. He, by executive order has said that
- 7:10Speaker 2: birthrights citizenship doesn't exist anymore. And that is a straight
- 7:15Speaker 2: out in the Fourteenth Amendment. People that are born in
- 7:18Speaker 2: the United States are citizens. Thank you.
- 7:23Speaker 3: You can.
- 7:23Speaker 2: It's not constitutional, but the Supreme Court is listening to
- 7:28Speaker 2: it did bring it up to hear it, which I
- 7:29Speaker 2: don't understand. So let's say issues an executive order that
- 7:33Speaker 2: says Congress shall take over all elections, and only Republicans,
- 7:38Speaker 2: by the way, can do this. Democrats are not allowed
- 7:42Speaker 2: to take over elections. Only Republicans can do it because
- 7:46Speaker 2: because Congress is in the Republican what he's actually saying
- 7:49Speaker 2: is since Republicans control. This is all anticipation in the
- 7:53Speaker 2: midterm of which he and others are thinking it may
- 7:56Speaker 2: be a wipeout. If there were today, the Republicans would
- 8:01Speaker 2: get nailed because of the cost of living, because of immigration,
- 8:07Speaker 2: because of everything that Trump promised to do he is
- 8:11Speaker 2: not doing, and everything he promised not to do he
- 8:13Speaker 2: is doing so well, it's going to go no place.
- 8:16Speaker 2: But look at this. Normally we would talk about the
- 8:20Speaker 2: protests in Minneapolis, right, So he comes up with this
- 8:23Speaker 2: and all of a sudden this becomes a lead story.
- 8:26Speaker 2: And does he what a job he does of deflecting
- 8:29Speaker 2: because a lot of people are arguing that's all he's doing,
- 8:32Speaker 2: is just deflecting. Hey, look over here. Nothing on my
- 8:34Speaker 2: sleeve is sleight of hand. Don't look at my left hand.
- 8:36Speaker 2: Look what my right hand is doing.
- 8:38Speaker 1: I thought he didn't want us to look at his hands.
- 8:41Speaker 2: Well, it's yeah. If he supplants his hand with someone
- 8:46Speaker 2: else's hand, takes it out of your pocket and now
- 8:50Speaker 2: let's just move on.
- 8:54Speaker 4: The medical examiner has ruled Alex Pretty's death in Minneapolis
- 9:00Speaker 4: was a homicide. Of course, Alex Predi was the guy
- 9:04Speaker 4: shot by Department of Homeland Security agents in Minnesota, and
- 9:11Speaker 4: the homicide ruling typically triggers an investigation into the death
- 9:14Speaker 4: that will aim to determine whether the killing was justified
- 9:17Speaker 4: or not.
- 9:18Speaker 2: Yeah, now there's a homicide just means a killing of
- 9:20Speaker 2: a person by another.
- 9:21Speaker 3: It's almost it's a weird actually it's actually written story.
- 9:26Speaker 2: Actually it well, actually it isn't because I'll tell you why.
- 9:31Speaker 2: One of the defense arguments, and this was made in
- 9:33Speaker 2: the Derek Chauvin case, is that George Floyd did not
- 9:38Speaker 2: die of exphyxiation. What he died of complications from his
- 9:43Speaker 2: medical condition, and that was really the cause of death.
- 9:47Speaker 2: I get that in that about that here is not yet,
- 9:51Speaker 2: not yet, they're waiting for the autopsy. You and they're
- 9:54Speaker 2: going to say, oh, it wasn't there bullets that shot him,
- 9:56Speaker 2: the twelve bullets that went through his heart. It was right,
- 9:59Speaker 2: it was the pre existing conditions that he had. That's
- 10:03Speaker 2: what did it. So I can see that. But there's
- 10:05Speaker 2: going to course the autopsy says, oh, yeah, he was
- 10:07Speaker 2: shot fifteen times.
- 10:08Speaker 3: Most people don't know what that word means and they think, oh,
- 10:12Speaker 3: see it was murder.
- 10:13Speaker 2: Now, yeah, murder is murder. Yeah, But you can have
- 10:16Speaker 2: a homicide justifiable for example, self defense totally justifiable, and
- 10:21Speaker 2: it's still the killing of a person by another, All right.
- 10:24Speaker 3: This is a no brainer. It seems that effective. Immediately
- 10:30Speaker 3: we are told by Gnome that all of the ICE
- 10:34Speaker 3: agents and the federal agents in Minneapolis will be wearing body.
- 10:40Speaker 1: Cameras on them when they're out in.
- 10:42Speaker 2: The field there.
- 10:43Speaker 3: This will go and expand nationwide as well. But they're
- 10:50Speaker 3: going to rapidly acquire these and deploy the body cams.
- 10:53Speaker 3: And the true believers on the left and the right
- 10:55Speaker 3: won't care, but maybe some people in the middle will
- 11:00Speaker 3: appreciate the information.
- 11:01Speaker 2: Well, this is how you see the administration back backing
- 11:05Speaker 2: down on huge mistakes that are made. Christinoman will no
- 11:10Speaker 2: longer say that that Good and Prettie were terrorists, domestic terrorists,
- 11:15Speaker 2: and we're there to massacre officers ICE officers, and we're
- 11:20Speaker 2: there to do as much damage as it can in
- 11:22Speaker 2: the United States. That's off the table now. It never
- 11:25Speaker 2: came back and said we were wrong, or g I misspoke,
- 11:28Speaker 2: or maybe that was the just crazy stuff. So instead
- 11:32Speaker 2: what they're doing is, okay, we're going to take we'll
- 11:34Speaker 2: do batty cams. And then you hear from the White
- 11:36Speaker 2: House we're going to take ICE officers off the streets,
- 11:41Speaker 2: and you're going to see them backing down because they've
- 11:45Speaker 2: gone so over the top with this and this, and
- 11:48Speaker 2: the government the shutdown is based on. This is based
- 11:51Speaker 2: on what immigration authorities are doing, and you're going to
- 11:55Speaker 2: see a change. But you're never going to hear them
- 11:57Speaker 2: admit any wrongdoing ever. And you're right, the MAGA supporters
- 12:01Speaker 2: doesn't even matter. And I was thinking that if literally
- 12:06Speaker 2: a group of ICE agents were to shoot point blank
- 12:10Speaker 2: into a crowd and they said, well, I thought someone
- 12:13Speaker 2: was reaching for a gun on his waist and therefore
- 12:17Speaker 2: self defense, they would still say absolutely and in.
- 12:21Speaker 3: All balance, if someone was to let's say, say come
- 12:25Speaker 3: at me, come at me, and then drive over them
- 12:28Speaker 3: with a car. Right, so they were going to get milk.
- 12:32Speaker 2: For their fans. Yes, that's correct, that's correct. The only
- 12:35Speaker 2: problem is is that the MAGA supporters have their guy
- 12:37Speaker 2: in power to chee okay, yeah, and absolutely right, sir.
- 12:44Speaker 4: The clock is ticking to find Savannah's mom, and we've
- 12:48Speaker 4: got some new information about that. Of course, we're talking
- 12:50Speaker 4: about today co anchor Savannah Guthrie's mom, who has been
- 12:55Speaker 4: missing since Saturday night. Apparently that was the last time
- 12:59Speaker 4: she was seen at her house in Arizona. And now
- 13:03Speaker 4: we're hearing from the Pima County Sheriff that blood was
- 13:06Speaker 4: found in the home. Earlier, they said that it appears
- 13:11Speaker 4: the mother had been taken from her.
- 13:15Speaker 2: Home, probably on Saturday night dead.
- 13:19Speaker 1: Oh well, that's horrible, it's true.
- 13:24Speaker 2: Oh yeah, that part is no one knows. I mean,
- 13:27Speaker 2: that one is really weird.
- 13:29Speaker 3: If they were for money, you'd think something would have
- 13:31Speaker 3: been said by now, like if call would have been
- 13:34Speaker 3: made saying, hey, give us money or whatever.
- 13:36Speaker 2: Yeah, they're play and the sheriff's office is completely perplexed
- 13:40Speaker 2: as to why. And it's a crime scene, which means
- 13:44Speaker 2: that I had to find blood, and there was those
- 13:46Speaker 2: signs of a struggle. We know that, and that she
- 13:48Speaker 2: is on medication that she needs daily otherwise, see it's
- 13:52Speaker 2: life threatening. I'm assuming it's diabetes medication, Sincerlin. And so
- 13:57Speaker 2: I woke up this morning, My God, NBC the Today Show,
- 14:02Speaker 2: and then of course I made the joke that both
- 14:04Speaker 2: Amy and Neil said, I am not allowed to make
- 14:12Speaker 2: cono you're laughing, because I don't know if you were
- 14:15Speaker 2: going in the same direction I was along.
- 14:18Speaker 3: Oh, okay, walking, we're walking alrighty did it? Okay, billery
- 14:27Speaker 3: are speaking of backing down, are reversing? I love editorializing
- 14:35Speaker 3: in stories. It's written. It's a remarkable reversal for the former.
- 14:41Speaker 2: As opposed to just a reversal.
- 14:43Speaker 1: Yeah, it's just a reversal, people, it's a reversal.
- 14:46Speaker 3: Okay. They looked, they looked at all the information. They said, listen,
- 14:49Speaker 3: we're gonna have to do this. So the former president
- 14:51Speaker 3: and Secretary of State last month, we know they were defying.
- 14:55Speaker 3: The committee issued subpoenas well. A spokesperson for Bill Clinton
- 14:58Speaker 3: said in a statement on social media. Of course the
- 15:02Speaker 3: former first couple looks forward, just setting a precedent.
- 15:07Speaker 2: Yeah, because they were looking at it. They were looking
- 15:10Speaker 2: at a contempt citation, and they were going to get it.
- 15:13Speaker 4: They were going to vote on it tomorrow, I think.
- 15:15Speaker 2: And they and it would have gone it would it
- 15:17Speaker 2: would have gone it?
- 15:18Speaker 3: What Wait, what's the meaning of it?
- 15:21Speaker 1: Contempt?
- 15:22Speaker 2: They contemp you because it Oh yeah, yeah, what is
- 15:26Speaker 2: the meaning of is is? Yes? Yes? Depends on what
- 15:31Speaker 2: is it? Nobody else? Oh, there have been tons of
- 15:35Speaker 2: people are being called. They're just a way way at
- 15:38Speaker 2: the top of the heap. In terms, there are so
- 15:40Speaker 2: many political Oh yeah, there is a big one. It's
- 15:46Speaker 2: one too, Yeah, it's a huge one. And here is
- 15:48Speaker 2: what happens. All these committees are chaired by Republicans, every
- 15:51Speaker 2: one of them, because that's just the way government works.
- 15:54Speaker 2: And when a Democrat Congress comes in, all the House
- 15:57Speaker 2: committees will be chaired by Democrats. Uh. Again, that's the
- 16:01Speaker 2: way it works.
- 16:02Speaker 3: And documents they have them in Uh oh yeah, but
- 16:05Speaker 3: you know these what ends up happening with these committee
- 16:08Speaker 3: hearings they have they're quote investigative committees.
- 16:11Speaker 2: That's what they are defined as. There's nothing investigative about
- 16:14Speaker 2: any of these. It's simply making getting in front of
- 16:18Speaker 2: the camera and doing your spiel.
- 16:20Speaker 3: Lets Obama had this, Biden had this. If there was anything,
- 16:25Speaker 3: that would have been the perfect thing to come out
- 16:27Speaker 3: with and say, listen, look at this picture. This is
- 16:30Speaker 3: not the person you want. Yeah, it's I mean, really,
- 16:34Speaker 3: if there was the all I've seen is ai stuff
- 16:39Speaker 3: the uh you know, which is the which is out there,
- 16:41Speaker 3: which makes it a little more complicated.
- 16:43Speaker 2: I'll tell you one thing. You've seen this President Obama
- 16:45Speaker 2: and Biden. Philosophically, there's no issue there on opposite sides
- 16:49Speaker 2: it's just that Obama and Biden wouldn't order Congress to
- 16:55Speaker 2: do uh what No, Trump is ordering. And so what
- 16:58Speaker 2: happens is there make life miserable for Clinton? What are
- 17:02Speaker 2: they going to get out of Clinton appearing in front
- 17:05Speaker 2: of the committee that has the information has already come out.
- 17:09Speaker 2: Yes I knew him, Yes I knew him. Here are
- 17:12Speaker 2: your pictures? Well they've already been made public. Explain this
- 17:14Speaker 2: because I don't remember us twenty two years ago. Yes,
- 17:17Speaker 2: I think it was at a party. How's that for investigation?
- 17:20Speaker 2: And it really is about the Republicans saying you, the
- 17:24Speaker 2: Democrats are horrible, terrible, the worst presidency in history. And
- 17:29Speaker 2: excuse me, that's the Republicans and then the Democrats when
- 17:31Speaker 2: they do their questioning, it's under the great leadership of
- 17:35Speaker 2: President Bill Clinton. Look how great we did as a country.
- 17:37Speaker 3: That's both pigs exactly. Either side is going to come
- 17:41Speaker 3: out Clinton.
- 17:42Speaker 2: The only way, Yeah, the only way you can make
- 17:44Speaker 2: these truly investigative committees is to do it in secret.
- 17:48Speaker 2: And the investigators are investigators that are assigned to those committees,
- 17:53Speaker 2: that are hired by those committees. That's real investigation. As
- 17:57Speaker 2: Amy said, this is just grandstanding.
- 18:00Speaker 3: I was just going to use the excuse that the
- 18:01Speaker 3: alibi that he was at a Diddy party that night,
- 18:04Speaker 3: And that's very funny, all right.
- 18:06Speaker 4: California is about to cash in on Super Bowl sixty.
- 18:10Speaker 4: This year's Super Bowl is just the first in some
- 18:13Speaker 4: big sporting events that's expected to generate more than eighteen
- 18:16Speaker 4: billion dollars for the state of California. Of course, super
- 18:20Speaker 4: bowls first of them. This Sunday I expected to bring
- 18:24Speaker 4: in about five hundred million dollars for the Bay Area.
- 18:27Speaker 4: The game's being played in Santa Clara, but a lot
- 18:30Speaker 4: of the events are happening in San Francisco. The championship
- 18:34Speaker 4: game also expected to support five thousand jobs and bring
- 18:37Speaker 4: ninety thousand visitors to the Bay Area this weekend.
- 18:40Speaker 2: Yeah, and keep in mind, our president is a Patriots fan,
- 18:45Speaker 2: So if Seahawks win, it's a rig game. There's no
- 18:49Speaker 2: such thing as an honest game. Okay, Amy, you give
- 18:54Speaker 2: me the look because I'm always making these jibes. At
- 18:58Speaker 2: do you talk.
- 18:59Speaker 4: About you know what I want to not do President
- 19:01Speaker 4: Trump all day every day.
- 19:03Speaker 2: I know, you just inject stuff stuff like crazy, you know,
- 19:07Speaker 2: I just you know, I think it's going to change
- 19:09Speaker 2: when a Democrat comes in. Yeah, it is going to
- 19:12Speaker 2: change because it won't be as much to make fun of.
- 19:15Speaker 2: You know, there's for you knew something You're not gonna
- 19:19Speaker 2: make my other than the way he looks and his liberalism.
- 19:23Speaker 2: I don't think you're going to see anything close to
- 19:25Speaker 2: what's going on ever again. We'll never see this again.
- 19:28Speaker 1: He's a genuine idiot, Newsome.
- 19:32Speaker 2: I know he's not an idiot.
- 19:34Speaker 1: No, no, genuine idiot.
- 19:36Speaker 2: I don't think have you ever sat down and talked
- 19:37Speaker 2: to him. I haven't. I don't know if he's a
- 19:40Speaker 2: genuine idiot. We hang out.
- 19:42Speaker 3: We go to the French laundry all the time. During Yeah,
- 19:45Speaker 3: during COVID. Yeah, here's Bill handle. Oh my god, I
- 19:48Speaker 3: think I have a rash?
- 19:49Speaker 2: Is that okay? Looks moving on?
- 19:51Speaker 3: Speaking of Orange, nice segue, all right. The California teams
- 20:00Speaker 3: care about your children, and they want to protect them
- 20:05Speaker 3: by saying no to cars that don't have somebody in
- 20:07Speaker 3: them that they can charge to become Teamsters. So the
- 20:12Speaker 3: Teamsters Union of California is asking the state to suspend
- 20:15Speaker 3: Weimo's operating license in the state indefinitely because a kid
- 20:22Speaker 3: got hit last.
- 20:23Speaker 1: Month in Santa Monica.
- 20:25Speaker 2: A kid jumped out from between cars and the Waymouth
- 20:29Speaker 2: Carr was right there and the kid was slightly injured.
- 20:32Speaker 2: And so they want to the operating license that wamo's
- 20:37Speaker 2: self driving cars are now illegal. That would have been
- 20:40Speaker 2: the same thing. Airplanes to this day would not be
- 20:42Speaker 2: able to fly, you know that because there were some
- 20:44Speaker 2: early crashes. Cars in general will not be able to
- 20:48Speaker 2: be driven. I just want to let you know. Helicopters
- 20:51Speaker 2: would never be flown. They by the way, even horses,
- 20:56Speaker 2: horse and buggies used to run over people.
- 20:59Speaker 3: But it isn't this so transparent because as the union
- 21:04Speaker 3: wants it, Yeah, you can't.
- 21:05Speaker 2: Get a union.
- 21:05Speaker 1: You can't get a car to join a union. Well,
- 21:08Speaker 1: it's a car.
- 21:09Speaker 4: And the other thing I think is kind of interesting
- 21:11Speaker 4: about this because we were talking about this because I
- 21:13Speaker 4: have been skeptical of the driverless vehicles, but this one
- 21:18Speaker 4: slammed on its brakes when a child darted out from
- 21:21Speaker 4: between cars. What are the like what's the likelihood that
- 21:24Speaker 4: a person would have seen it and reacted to it?
- 21:27Speaker 2: Not as quick not as quickly, not as quickly. The
- 21:31Speaker 2: brakes happen much quicker, They are much safer if you
- 21:35Speaker 2: look at the number of miles that Waimo has driven
- 21:37Speaker 2: and the accidents that these cars have gotten into per
- 21:40Speaker 2: capita is a fraction of what the number of cars
- 21:45Speaker 2: that got into accidents with the human drivers or even
- 21:49Speaker 2: unhuman drivers non human drivers. So that's just stupid, all right.
- 21:54Speaker 4: As news, astronauts are going to need to wait a
- 21:59Speaker 4: little while longer to reach for the stars. NASA says
- 22:03Speaker 4: it is delaying its Artemis two mission that aims to
- 22:08Speaker 4: send a crew of four around the Moon. They were
- 22:13Speaker 4: doing what they call a wet dress rehearsal at Kennedy
- 22:15Speaker 4: Space Center yesterday. They had to delay it once because
- 22:18Speaker 4: of the weather. But then they were doing this dress rehearsal,
- 22:20Speaker 4: basically a run through before the launch that was scheduled
- 22:23Speaker 4: for February eighth, engineers detected a leaking hydrogen at the
- 22:29Speaker 4: base of the Space Launch System rocket, and so they
- 22:34Speaker 4: stopped the test and pushed back the next possible launch
- 22:38Speaker 4: window into March.
- 22:40Speaker 2: Do you notice the crew when they were interviewed, and
- 22:43Speaker 2: they're all brilliant people. I mean they're the credentials are
- 22:46Speaker 2: of course there. But it's one white guy, one black guy,
- 22:50Speaker 2: one woman, I think one Hispanic of the four if
- 22:53Speaker 2: I'm not mistaken. So no, the dwarf that was the
- 22:58Speaker 2: next one. The hunchback Dwarf was number five. But unfortunately
- 23:03Speaker 2: the gay hunchback Dwarf was gonna be five, but they
- 23:07Speaker 2: ran out of space in the capsule.
- 23:08Speaker 3: Today we're putting in space the mighty people of Benetton.
- 23:13Speaker 1: Yes, all right, Benison going on sale soon.
- 23:18Speaker 3: On Catalina Island, they got a plan to restore Catalina
- 23:21Speaker 3: Island's ecosystem with the very controversial killing of roughly two
- 23:26Speaker 3: thousand non native deer. This helps actually this helps condor
- 23:32Speaker 3: recovery as well. The whole thing is they submitted this
- 23:36Speaker 3: by a private nonprofit Catalina Island Conservancy, was approved, and
- 23:40Speaker 3: they're gonna do it on the ground because everybody freaked
- 23:42Speaker 3: out they were doing it from a helicopter.
- 23:45Speaker 1: And then they're gonna, you know, redo.
- 23:47Speaker 3: The soil and do all these other.
- 23:50Speaker 2: Yeah, it's gonna come back to it's gonna come back
- 23:52Speaker 2: to its original ecosystem because he's mule deer like eat
- 23:56Speaker 2: everything in sight. So that makes sense. Of course, there
- 23:59Speaker 2: are people, oh my god, the deer. How could you
- 24:01Speaker 2: kill the deer? All right, now, take a break, come
- 24:03Speaker 2: back and guns. That's the what you can do with guns,
- 24:06Speaker 2: bow and arrows. You can do with a lot of stuff.
- 24:08Speaker 2: Poison you can do it with a joke.
- 24:10Speaker 4: Oh, don't poison them.
- 24:11Speaker 2: Or you can throw some kid in a little some
- 24:14Speaker 2: toddler and hope they choke on the toddler.
- 24:16Speaker 1: Okay, they're putting a bunch of way mos on the
- 24:19Speaker 1: there we go, all.
- 24:20Speaker 4: Right, take them all out right. Eddie Bauer is going bust.
- 24:24Speaker 4: Eddie Bauer, which opened its first store in Seattle in
- 24:27Speaker 4: nineteen twenty and currently owns and operates more than two
- 24:32Speaker 4: hundred stores in North America, is planning to close those
- 24:35Speaker 4: stores and filing for bankruptcy. E commerce operations apparently will continue.
- 24:43Speaker 3: I liked their luggage, Oh it, okay, they have some
- 24:46Speaker 3: great stuff.
- 24:47Speaker 2: And now because times have changed, they didn't switch quickly
- 24:51Speaker 2: enough to items that are people are more in demand of,
- 24:55Speaker 2: and that is couches and potatoes. And if they had
- 25:00Speaker 2: limited themselves to those two, the store would have been
- 25:02Speaker 2: in great shape.
- 25:03Speaker 1: Oh boy, all right.
- 25:05Speaker 3: So last March, almost coming up on a year, by
- 25:08Speaker 3: the way, I had the honor of standing next to
- 25:10Speaker 3: this wacky bastard get married in Italy and one of
- 25:14Speaker 3: the places we went by is the Trevy Fountain, and
- 25:17Speaker 3: every tourist goes over there and they throw in coins
- 25:20Speaker 3: and make wishes and all that stuff, right, gorgeous, gorgeous. Well,
- 25:24Speaker 3: now there's a two dollars charge to toss a coin
- 25:26Speaker 3: in the Trevy Fountain, and all I can think about
- 25:29Speaker 3: was why don't they just take the coins out?
- 25:32Speaker 2: They do? Oh, you're talking about the people that throw
- 25:34Speaker 2: them in, Oh, because every night the city takes them
- 25:37Speaker 2: out and give them the charity. It's you throw the
- 25:39Speaker 2: coin over your shoulder and good luck. And that was
- 25:41Speaker 2: what from what fifties filmed. I don't remember which one,
- 25:44Speaker 2: but in any case, there's so many people. I didn't
- 25:47Speaker 2: go there. You went there, and it's bumper to bumper.
- 25:50Speaker 2: I mean literally, coins are tossed, are hitting people in
- 25:53Speaker 2: the eye. You know how they have kiosks around where
- 25:55Speaker 2: they sell fruit and little bits of food. Ophthalmologists have
- 26:00Speaker 2: set up a little sands tiosks all the way around
- 26:03Speaker 2: Trevie's falka.
- 26:04Speaker 1: Look, yeah that's a quarter.
- 26:06Speaker 3: Yeah, but two bucks just just to toss coins in.
- 26:11Speaker 2: Yeah, And it's ridiculous. It's so crowded just make any
- 26:14Speaker 2: sense at all. It's a weird one, huh.
- 26:19Speaker 4: A snake has silenced a rising star Ifu Nanya Nuanjana.
- 26:26Speaker 4: I think I said it right. Was on season three
- 26:29Speaker 4: of The Voice in Nigeria, not here in the US.
- 26:31Speaker 4: But she's twenty six years old and she died at
- 26:35Speaker 4: a hospital in Nigeria after she got bit by a
- 26:38Speaker 4: venomous snake while she was sleeping, and apparently she was bitten.
- 26:44Speaker 4: They got her to the hospital, but they had one
- 26:47Speaker 4: dose of anti venom and apparently not the second one,
- 26:50Speaker 4: and so she could not breathe and she died.
- 26:54Speaker 2: Yeah, the hospitals and they they did have the anti venom,
- 26:58Speaker 2: but I guess they didn't get it to her close enough. Now,
- 27:00Speaker 2: when I read this story, I'm trying my damnedest to
- 27:03Speaker 2: find something funny about this, and I can't think of
- 27:09Speaker 2: a funny retort here being bitten in bed by a
- 27:13Speaker 2: cobra you were on the Voice. I still can't put
- 27:17Speaker 2: it together. Okay, that's okay, vill No, No, it's very
- 27:21Speaker 2: unusual for me. I'm going what's wrong with me? I
- 27:24Speaker 2: have to put myself on probation from not coming up
- 27:26Speaker 2: with something funny on this.
- 27:27Speaker 1: She was a Harry Potter fan. House of slip.
- 27:30Speaker 2: That's good. Okay, that's better. Okay, not bad.
- 27:33Speaker 3: It's pretty rough, man, you know, no kidding. We don't
- 27:36Speaker 3: die of stuff like that here, No, because we don't
- 27:38Speaker 3: have cobras. Say yes, all right, So Rams did their
- 27:45Speaker 3: some big business. They re signed coach Sean McVay and
- 27:50Speaker 3: the general manager Less Sneid.
- 27:53Speaker 1: Mcveigh's forty.
- 27:54Speaker 3: Sneid is fifty five and they're in the final year,
- 27:56Speaker 3: or at least entering the final years of their contract.
- 27:59Speaker 2: So can't even imagine what Sean McVay is going to
- 28:02Speaker 2: be paid on this next contract. Ten million a year,
- 28:06Speaker 2: fifteen million a year. Kno, you keep up with this stuff.
- 28:08Speaker 2: Any idea what Sean McVay is getting paid If you
- 28:10Speaker 2: had to guess, I would think around ten a year. Yeah,
- 28:14Speaker 2: it's not a bad living, all right.
- 28:18Speaker 1: Do we have time yarning show money?
- 28:21Speaker 2: But uh yeah yeah, right, okay, one last one, let's
- 28:24Speaker 2: do it.
- 28:25Speaker 4: The ice house is out at the Olympics, so US
- 28:29Speaker 4: Figure Skating, USA Hockey and US Speed Skating have a
- 28:33Speaker 4: place where like it's a hospitality space that they were
- 28:36Speaker 4: planning to have at in Milan, where the Olympics are
- 28:39Speaker 4: about to get underway, and they called it the Ice House. Well,
- 28:42Speaker 4: because of the immigration operations and protests, they've changed the
- 28:49Speaker 4: name of it, so it's the Winter House.
- 28:51Speaker 3: Now. Oh oh, they're not alone. They're not alone. I
- 28:54Speaker 3: mean when the house in Pasadena is yeah, is going
- 28:56Speaker 3: to be.
- 28:56Speaker 2: And if you go to Costco, you know they have
- 28:58Speaker 2: those at the front of the store. They have those
- 29:01Speaker 2: huge freezer containers that have ice in them. Now instead
- 29:05Speaker 2: of the saying not, instead of saying ice, just says
- 29:07Speaker 2: frozen water. I mean, they are just getting away from
- 29:11Speaker 2: all of that.
- 29:11Speaker 3: Everyone's ordering. Can I have my soda with some hard water?
- 29:15Speaker 1: Please?
- 29:15Speaker 2: Thanks?
- 29:16Speaker 1: Tried, Yeah, chunks of hard water.
- 29:18Speaker 2: All right, We're done, guys. That's it for the morning
- 29:22Speaker 2: news or at least news hour coming up. Mayor Bess
- 29:27Speaker 2: she is having two two State of the City speeches addresses,
- 29:33Speaker 2: not just one. And boy, am I impressed with her? No, no,
- 29:36Speaker 2: she's impressed with her. Let me restate that this is
- 29:40Speaker 2: KFI AM six. You've been listening to the Bill Handle Show.
- 29:45Speaker 2: Catch my Show Monday through Friday six am to nine am,
- 29:48Speaker 2: and anytime on demand on the iHeartRadio app.
