A church can easily grow its giving numbers while completely failing to foster surrender to Christ. Writing a check or contributing to a program is not automatically an offering to God just because it moves through church channels; it becomes one only when rooted in faith, genuine joy, and self-consecration. Furthermore, declaring "It’s God’s money" creates accountability at both ends of the plate—institutions receiving funds are held to the exact same standard as members giving them.
