- 0:01Thirteen ten Wiba and Ask the Experts, joined this morning by a mere con
- 0:07sales manager with next Door and Window. Ameir, how you doing this morning?
- 0:11I'm doing well, Sean. How are you today? I'm doing really
- 0:13good. It's great to finally talk with you. You and I have been
- 0:16kind of talking behind the scenes for the last last week or so and really
- 0:20exciting stuff to talk about with next Door and Window before we got to get
- 0:25into you know, things like consultations and you know, some of the great
- 0:30experiences you've had educating homeowners. Let's just really quickly talk about next Door and
- 0:35Window, a little bit about a little bit about the company, and of
- 0:38course a little bit about you as well, Amere. Yeah, thank you,
- 0:41Sean. We're a family owned business. We've been servicing Chicago Land for
- 0:45over twenty one years. One of the things that we pride ourselves on is
- 0:49customer service. We have made sure that we are very customer focused and we
- 0:55install very good quality windows and doors, and we provide service is for clients
- 1:00here in Chicagoland. We pride ourselves also on the fact that we have our
- 1:06own customer service department that serves you not only for one or two year labor
- 1:11warranty periods, but much longer than that, almost as long as you live
- 1:14in the home. I have been with NEXT eight plus years, and we
- 1:19promote from within, We train, teach, learn, It's all about the
- 1:25people that makes the business. So I have been in this window and door
- 1:30industry for twelve plus years, but with NEXT, and I found that the
- 1:38ethics of the organization, the way we operate our business, how we conduct
- 1:42ourselves, has set us apart from many other organizations that I have seen and
- 1:49personally worked for in this industry. It's really neat to hear. And you
- 1:53know, you and I were talking before we came on the air this morning
- 1:57just about your experience, and you mentioned, of course promotions and opportunities within
- 2:02and having that family atmosphere is such a big thing. And for folks who
- 2:07don't know you guys are of course next door and Window a lot of folks
- 2:10may be familiar with if you've ever listened or traveled through the Chicago area,
- 2:15been familiar seeing your signs, heard some maybe seen a commercial or two.
- 2:19You guys are in Madison now, aren't you, amir? Yes exactly,
- 2:22So, we obviously worked tirelessly to create a certain business here and a reputation,
- 2:30and one of our valued partners in our project here is Marvin Windows and
- 2:36Doors and Marvin Infinity Windows and Doors specifically, and they saw the way we
- 2:42were bringing this quality product and service to our clients here in Chicago, and
- 2:49they realized that people in Madison also deserve the same level of customer service,
- 2:53same level of project that we have been successfully doing it here, so the
- 3:00us to bring our services to the Madison market, and a couple of years
- 3:05ago, that's exactly what we did. We don't We're a humble company.
- 3:09We don't make a big show off, uh you know, grandeur or anything.
- 3:15All we do is come into your homes and I'll offer you the exact
- 3:17same quality of products and services that has been tried and tested and proven to
- 3:23be successful in homeowners' homes here in Chicagoland. Fantastic talking this morning with a
- 3:30mere Economyre comes to us from next Door and Window that a website, next
- 3:36door and Window dot com. That's next door a n D window dot Com
- 3:40tell phone number right here in Madison six oh eight three zero two thirty six
- 3:45thirty two thirty six thirty. I'm gonna have to edit that part out same
- 3:49number here in Madison six oh eight three zero two thirty six thirty six.
- 3:53That's three zero two thirty six thirty six. Let's talk a little bit about
- 3:58the approach and one of the things that the impressed me. Obviously we'll get
- 4:00into the we'll get into those Marvin fiberglass windows and what makes them so so
- 4:04fantastic, But one of the things that really impresses me is that human interaction
- 4:10is the approach that you take at next door and window. It's really a
- 4:14consultation for homeowners. Isn't it a mirror? Absolutely? Sean so uh.
- 4:17You know, there's a big stigma around in home projects and in home sales
- 4:24right over the years, there's a lot of experts who have come up with
- 4:29different models to go to a client's home and do a sale off a project.
- 4:34And what we realized we kind of stepped back and we looked at it
- 4:40from a consumer standpoint. I mean, I'm a homeowner, I'm a consumer
- 4:43myself, and if I have a problem in my home, I would expect
- 4:47an expert to come in and solve my problem, but not necessarily pushed me
- 4:54to make a decision and whatnot. So over the years, this is this
- 4:59is one one of our main objectives was to change the way we approach a
- 5:05window and door replacement project in a client's home. So we've made it simple
- 5:11really, you know, forget the ten steps, seven steps, closing tools,
- 5:15closing methods. We don't do any of that. Our philosophy is we
- 5:18go to a client's home. We found find out what their problems are.
- 5:24We inspect their problems, and I would like to elaborate that step for just
- 5:29a little bit. In order to actually be able to identify exactly what the
- 5:34problems are and how to alleviate them, we need to do a lot of
- 5:38training. So in our organization we are absolutely learning focused. Every one of
- 5:45our experts that go to your home go through extensive training on construction, windows,
- 5:50materials, product, not sales training. This is more knowledge, actual
- 5:58knowledge of homes, actual knowledge of energy efficiency ratings and et cetera, et
- 6:03cetera. So once we have identified the problems, we suggest we plan solutions
- 6:09for the homeowners. We suggest and present our solutions and if that solution makes
- 6:15sense for the homeowner, we would love to work for them. It's pretty
- 6:19love to do this project for them. That's our philosophy. It's pretty amazing
- 6:23to amir as we're talking about of the mir kan of next Door and Window,
- 6:27the website Nextdoor and Window dot com. That's next Door a n D
- 6:30Window dot Com. There's tell for a number right here in Madison, six
- 6:33oh eight three zero two thirty six thirty six. That's six oh eight three
- 6:38zero two thirty six thirty six for next Door and windows and UH and window
- 6:43and UH and a mirror. One of the things that I find amazing as
- 6:46you were just kind of talking to me about you being a homeowner as well,
- 6:48I'm also a homeowner. I think for a lot of us. You
- 6:50know, when we buy our home, whether we're the first owner or we've
- 6:54were a long list of previous owners of that home, it never comes with
- 6:59like a like a like there's a little bit of information about it, but
- 7:01there's not a ton of information on a home. Every home is special.
- 7:04Every home is unique. It's got its unique story, it's unique. Past
- 7:08that consultation and having that conversation and just presenting to the homeowners what your assessment
- 7:13and what those needs are. That's so reassuring to hear that type of philosophy.
- 7:16And that type of approach absolutely right. I mean when it comes to
- 7:21if you you know, look at architecture and the construction and the history of
- 7:29homes during throughout different eras homes were built ever so slightly differently, right,
- 7:35and then different areas of different cities and towns have different types of homes,
- 7:41you know, masonry homes, cinder block homes, framed houses, some of
- 7:46them have different types of window solutions and door solutions. And understanding all those
- 7:53different intricacies, there is not there is no one approach and one method to
- 8:00all of it. Right, the very common thing that happens to homeowners myself
- 8:03included. Right, I'm a window, door and construction specialist. Except I'll
- 8:09give you a perfect example. My water heater goes out. Right, I'm
- 8:13not a water heater specialist. I haven't done the research. I have not
- 8:16done trained myself to know everything about water heaters and how the plumbing needs to
- 8:22be, where the pipes need to be, what are the tolerance is required?
- 8:24I don't know that. So I'm hoping when I call a company for
- 8:28a water heater, he comes in and she comes in, they're able to
- 8:33give me that expert knowledge and that's exactly what we do here. It's not
- 8:37all the same solution for it's not one size fits all situation. It is
- 8:41always customized, it is always curtailed to your home. And what we will
- 8:48do for you is we will teach you. We will quite literally educate you
- 8:54on what you're looking at, what the issues are, and here are the
- 9:00recommended proper solutions to your issues. That is a really really for a homeowner.
- 9:05You get you get that learning experience, that opportunity to actually sit down
- 9:09with an expert, sit down with the pro That's one of the fantastic things
- 9:11about working with a Mirror and the team at next Door and Window, the
- 9:15website next door and Window dot com. Tell for number six oh eight three
- 9:20zero two thirty six thirty six. That's six oh eight three zero two thirty
- 9:24six thirty six. You mentioned earlier Marvin Infinity windows and doors. Let's talk
- 9:28about those Marvin fiberglass windows and doors and what makes them so special compared to
- 9:33some of the other products that are available out there. Fantastic course, thank
- 9:37you Sean for that opportunity. When it comes to windows and doors, effectively,
- 9:43there are five different types of materials that were made with one of them
- 9:46is commercial grade made out of aluminum, and aluminum is not a very good
- 9:50material for residential windows and doors because it's a very highly conductive material and in
- 9:56areas like Chicago, Madison and stuff, we get very low temperatures in the
- 10:01cold months. So regardless of that, then you have wood windows. Right.
- 10:05Woodwindows have been around for over one hundred years. Really, except wood
- 10:09windows do require a tremendous amount of maintenance. Now, don't get me wrong.
- 10:15If you maintain wood windows by keeping them stained and painted and protected from
- 10:20the elements, you could make it last thirty forty years, but it does
- 10:26require a tremendous amount of time commitment to that. On the other end of
- 10:28the spectrum, in the late seventies or so, vinyl windows were invented.
- 10:33Vinyl windows were supposed to be that alternative to wood windows. There would be
- 10:37a material that would work without maintenance. That's all there is to it.
- 10:43But the idea behind the vinyl, as we have found out over the years,
- 10:48is the plastic based product does not have physical longevity. While the material
- 10:54will last a long time as a window unit, the material expands in contracts
- 11:01so much to temperature changes that you lose operational longevity of the window. Gaps
- 11:09started opening up and the whole material and the whole window gets warped with age
- 11:15as early as seven eight years nowadays, unfortunately, and this is all data
- 11:18that is available on reviews on the web. So there are some companies that
- 11:24have tried some composite solutions to this to make it less malleable, less more
- 11:31stable, more stronger. Marvin, you know again, one hundred plus year
- 11:35old company, when they were trying to come up with an alternative to their
- 11:39legendary high quality wood window like the Signature series, they did not want to
- 11:45go to a material that would not work for the whole country. This was
- 11:50the key that was one of their directives that we want to make an alternative
- 11:54window that is as good as our top of the line heavy duty wood window,
- 11:58not a cheaper alternative. See, when it comes to developing anything,
- 12:05it's very critical to understand what is the objective. Are you just trying to
- 12:09sell more windows or are you actually trying to come up with something that is
- 12:13just as good as the other one but solves the other purpose of being maintenance
- 12:22free as well. So fiberglass as a material is completely Thermo set. It
- 12:26is eight times stronger than its vinyl counterpart. And when I say stronger,
- 12:31I'm only talking about flexual strength, as in flexing. Windows and doors do
- 12:37not necessarily require a lot of impact strength. People are not going to hammer
- 12:43your door frame. If they want to break in, they're going to break
- 12:46the glass. It's all about the structural integrity of the window. If it
- 12:54stays nice and square and true for a longer period of time, that's when
- 12:58you will enjoy a good operating window for a longer period of time. That's
- 13:05all there is to it. Fixing windows and replacing windows more than once in
- 13:11the in a homeowner's ownership cycle is just a waste of money. Those are
- 13:16These are structural replacements and repairs that you should not necessarily have to do more
- 13:22than once in your ownership cycle of a home. That's what Marvin Infinity provides,
- 13:28a window that is engineered and designed to last quite literally decades because the
- 13:35material is so strong. Now a lot of people say it's going to last
- 13:39forty years, fifty years. Well, we at next own window always like
- 13:45to speak in facts. This Marvin's fiberglass was introduced in nineteen ninety five,
- 13:52the Marvin Infinity product was introduced in two thousand and one, and to date
- 13:58we have millions of units on a field installed and we are not seeing catastrophic
- 14:05failures of this unit. That is amazing. And you talk about this is
- 14:07so that's twenty three years wow. And you talk about being a homeowner,
- 14:11and you know, you think about windows. You mentioned, you know what
- 14:13it was great at a time, it was fantastic, but a ton of
- 14:16work. Having windows that are gonna last, They're gonna look beautiful, not
- 14:20gonna require maintenance or any work from you. And again eight times stronger than
- 14:24Vinyl. Marvin fiberglass windows of course installed by next Door and Window. Today
- 14:31is the day if you've got questions. Maybe you've got questions about how your
- 14:33house is performing. Are those windows living up to their potential? How about
- 14:37your entryway or other doors in your house? Great day to day pick up
