- 0:05Speaker 1: Let's go from a championship backfield to your morning drive.
- 0:09Speaker 2: Ham'sday. Hester and Hester got it five out a five.
- 0:13Speaker 1: Your locks in to Off the Bench control the Live
- 0:20Speaker 1: from the Mercedes Benz of Baton Rouge Studio. Here's Jacob
- 0:24Speaker 1: Hester and Matt Flynn.
- 0:37Speaker 2: Yo Yo done, Team Walcome in o TV Monday Morning
- 0:44Speaker 2: one oh four five ESPN, Baton Rouge, Jake Alandra Taty
- 0:49Speaker 2: here with you. Turns out the new flashy tripod has
- 0:53Speaker 2: got a walky leg on it. You gotta go get
- 0:57Speaker 2: the old one out of the attic. We gotta go
- 0:59Speaker 2: climb up there, get the dust off of it and
- 1:02Speaker 2: just say, you know what, sometimes old is better than news.
- 1:06Speaker 2: So it is US three. Flynn is on business with
- 1:10Speaker 2: My High and it's kind of a big one, kind
- 1:11Speaker 2: of a big boy. So good luck to Flynn and
- 1:14Speaker 2: My High. He'll be back on tomorrow. We didn't get
- 1:17Speaker 2: a chance to go to practice though on Saturday, so
- 1:20Speaker 2: that was a lot of fun. We brought He brought
- 1:23Speaker 2: Huck and I brought Memphis and so we had some
- 1:25Speaker 2: some junior OTB reporters out there as well, so we'll
- 1:29Speaker 2: certainly break that down. But like we do every single Monday,
- 1:32Speaker 2: we got to see how the weekend went around the
- 1:34Speaker 2: room a Landra, Did you end up not doing anything
- 1:37Speaker 2: like you said?
- 1:38Speaker 3: So?
- 1:38Speaker 4: I didn't do anything on Saturday. I did work out
- 1:43Speaker 4: a little bit, but nothing too crazy. And then on
- 1:46Speaker 4: Sunday I deep cleaned my house. I'm in a real
- 1:49Speaker 4: good mood today, like my house is clean. Yeah, I
- 1:53Speaker 4: went to the gym this morning, right, except Okay, so
- 1:56Speaker 4: I went to go pick up my coffee at Starbucks.
- 1:58Speaker 2: Right yeah.
- 2:00Speaker 3: He was like, see you tomorrow, and I was like, oh,
- 2:02Speaker 3: I gotta find a new Starbucks. No, I can't be
- 2:04Speaker 3: a rag.
- 2:05Speaker 2: You can't be the sea tomorrow.
- 2:06Speaker 3: See you tomorrow. Like that just feels so excessive as long.
- 2:11Speaker 2: As you use the app and you're not like t
- 2:13Speaker 2: Bob and literally get coffee every single day without using
- 2:16Speaker 2: this tool that if you scan it, No, I probably
- 2:19Speaker 2: have free coffee for a year, right, No.
- 2:21Speaker 4: I use the app one hundred percent so that I
- 2:23Speaker 4: could get that free coffee.
- 2:25Speaker 2: As you should have.
- 2:26Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 2:26Speaker 2: I don't still don't know what Bob he's doing. But
- 2:28Speaker 2: the biggest like I'm stealing from my rewards program.
- 2:33Speaker 5: The rewards out of it. He makes funny. He would
- 2:35Speaker 5: call a loss and be like, guys, I'm gonna be late.
- 2:37Speaker 5: The person in front of me took twenty minutes, like
- 2:39Speaker 5: order on the app ahead of time, walk in, pick
- 2:41Speaker 5: it up, and leave. He don't want to use the rewards.
- 2:44Speaker 5: Don't use that's true.
- 2:46Speaker 3: You don't have to use the rule, like you don't
- 2:48Speaker 3: have to get a free drink.
- 2:49Speaker 2: If you don't, you can stack them up, right, you
- 2:51Speaker 2: can stack them up and you can get cool stuff
- 2:53Speaker 2: like uh, you know, new cups and bags and coffee itself,
- 2:58Speaker 2: like round coffee. No. That man, that man every single
- 3:03Speaker 2: day for five years that we worked together had a
- 3:07Speaker 2: coffee from Starbucks and never once to use that one time.
- 3:13Speaker 3: I do love that. Something about it being this tripod
- 3:17Speaker 3: feels so right.
- 3:18Speaker 2: Yeah, it does. You the yo.
- 3:23Speaker 5: This morning, some are saying better than I'm.
- 3:25Speaker 4: Here into I was like, okay, I'm the first waterfall
- 3:29Speaker 4: of it.
- 3:30Speaker 3: I gotta be ready.
- 3:31Speaker 2: It's true. You gotta be is important. Really big steps,
- 3:35Speaker 2: a big step.
- 3:36Speaker 4: But it's been like doing ad lib yos the last
- 3:39Speaker 4: few years.
- 3:40Speaker 2: Hey, yo, yo, it's not how this works the whole
- 3:46Speaker 2: point to get everybody involved before we get you know,
- 3:49Speaker 2: like kind of initially.
- 3:50Speaker 4: Started right, and then we made fun of him for
- 3:52Speaker 4: the sports thing, remember like where he would be like.
- 3:55Speaker 3: Sports and then he's like you, oh you.
- 3:57Speaker 4: Didn't let that time and we're like, well, you can't
- 3:58Speaker 4: do it. He hasn't done it.
- 4:01Speaker 2: You can't do it every day. It's not funny. You
- 4:05Speaker 2: gotta do it like once a week and then oh
- 4:07Speaker 2: we'll snicker, right it because we forgot about it. Okay,
- 4:10Speaker 2: he's learning. Yeah, he's learning slowly, but he's learning. Uh yeah,
- 4:15Speaker 2: he is. Uh really though. It's a big, one, big
- 4:18Speaker 2: meeting from my high. Uh So, hopefully all goes well
- 4:20Speaker 2: and he will be back tomorrow. He's probably listening and
- 4:24Speaker 2: he's probably fom up the wazoo. Can't help himself. Yeah,
- 4:29Speaker 2: drop drop a yo in the chat if you're up
- 4:31Speaker 2: there and you're listening with an AirPod and uh te
- 4:34Speaker 2: how was the weekend? How was the grass mowing? I
- 4:37Speaker 2: know you did it. I don't know, but I know what.
- 4:43Speaker 2: It's a.
- 4:44Speaker 5: It's a it's a it's either today or tomorrow that's happening.
- 4:48Speaker 5: I don't need Joe worrying you had to go to
- 4:50Speaker 5: Victoria's tend your high school reunion on Saturday. And we're
- 4:54Speaker 5: leaving and she needs like a little bit of gas.
- 4:56Speaker 5: I'm like, a, let's get guts on the way home.
- 4:58Speaker 5: I get out and she's like, oh, it's my car.
- 5:00Speaker 5: You want my card. I was like, I can get you. Yeah,
- 5:02Speaker 5: it's not a big of a deal. Get out. I
- 5:05Speaker 5: opened my wallet, left my card at the event, so
- 5:08Speaker 5: then I was like, okay, I'm gonna need Luckily, like
- 5:11Speaker 5: her best friend was still there and she's like, hey,
- 5:14Speaker 5: Taylor left his card because it was a weird thing
- 5:16Speaker 5: at the bar where they're like we keep your card
- 5:18Speaker 5: till the end of the night, which I hate. I
- 5:21Speaker 5: feel like not that many people do that anymore, but
- 5:24Speaker 5: they did it, and I just I walked off and
- 5:26Speaker 5: I walked off and left it, and like we're leaving
- 5:29Speaker 5: that night, Victoria goes I feel like we're forgetting something.
- 5:31Speaker 5: I was like, you got your purse on your phone.
- 5:33Speaker 5: She's like yeah, it's like, well we're good. Walked right out.
- 5:35Speaker 5: So I didn't have a debit card like all weekend.
- 5:37Speaker 5: I got it like yesterday afternoon.
- 5:39Speaker 3: Yeah, well they got like tap to pay now everywhere.
- 5:42Speaker 4: So yeah, it's that big of an issue now, I
- 5:46Speaker 4: mean where it's at and you have to get it.
- 5:49Speaker 2: So like for for a while a couple of years ago,
- 5:51Speaker 2: I don't know why, but like I lost, like I
- 5:55Speaker 2: lost my card something whatever, and so like because you
- 5:58Speaker 2: can do it on your phone, that's what I did,
- 6:00Speaker 2: Like I was Apple Pay, tap to pay, like whatever,
- 6:03Speaker 2: and just continue to do it that way. And you know,
- 6:06Speaker 2: I travel a ton from December to February for college
- 6:10Speaker 2: football and it didn't matter because like hotels still had
- 6:12Speaker 2: to tap to pay and so like incidentals boom, you
- 6:14Speaker 2: could do that. And I went to One and Out
- 6:17Speaker 2: in LA and they didn't And the amount of paperwork
- 6:21Speaker 2: and like back channels I had to do just to
- 6:24Speaker 2: pay for like incidentals to be able to get into this.
- 6:27Speaker 2: It was the year TCU and Georgia played for the
- 6:29Speaker 2: national championship. I'm like, of all cities like I've been
- 6:33Speaker 2: to like Gainesville, Florida, Starkville, Mississippi, I have been to
- 6:38Speaker 2: College Station and this has worked in Los Angeles, It's
- 6:41Speaker 2: not gonna work. Yeah, and it got me so now
- 6:45Speaker 2: I got to Now I gotta carry a card because
- 6:47Speaker 2: of it yeah, I thought it was hip. I thought
- 6:49Speaker 2: it was cool a little bit. Yeah, just get the
- 6:52Speaker 2: phone out.
- 6:53Speaker 4: You know what I don't like though, at Whole Foods.
- 6:56Speaker 4: I'll never do this that you can just in your hand.
- 7:01Speaker 3: Did you see that?
- 7:02Speaker 5: What building?
- 7:04Speaker 3: I know, I don't like.
- 7:05Speaker 4: That either, But that's more like a bluetooth on your phone.
- 7:09Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, because you have to have your phone.
- 7:11Speaker 4: With you if you wave your hand or Amazon, well
- 7:14Speaker 4: it is Amazon a Whole Foods that they use.
- 7:16Speaker 3: So it's like if you just wave your hand, here
- 7:19Speaker 3: we go.
- 7:19Speaker 4: Here's Flynn in the chat, Yo in the chat.
- 7:24Speaker 1: Right.
- 7:25Speaker 4: But yeah, you can just put your hand over the
- 7:29Speaker 4: scanner and it pays for your groceries that I know.
- 7:34Speaker 5: It would have helped me over the weekend.
- 7:36Speaker 2: It's like it's like mark the stuff. I'm good with it.
- 7:40Speaker 3: I don't even understand.
- 7:41Speaker 4: I don't understand how your hand Like I think you
- 7:45Speaker 4: have to have an Amazon account, but I still don't
- 7:47Speaker 4: get it, Like it doesn't.
- 7:48Speaker 5: Register an Amazon account. They just sneak in and they
- 7:51Speaker 5: chip you in your sleep.
- 7:53Speaker 2: No doubt, there's no there's no way teabops hand will
- 7:55Speaker 2: be picked up on that.
- 7:56Speaker 5: Scan which again I'm waiting.
- 7:57Speaker 2: No chance, which.
- 7:58Speaker 5: Again I'm good with because if it helps me and
- 8:00Speaker 5: it's more convenient, you can chip me in my sleep,
- 8:02Speaker 5: that's fine.
- 8:03Speaker 2: No, after Flynn said, yeah, we got a lot of
- 8:08Speaker 2: wrestling dog wrestling in the chat there. Hey, I'm hip,
- 8:12Speaker 2: I'm cool. I watched it with my boys, you did.
- 8:15Speaker 2: My fifteen year old and my thirteen year old. They
- 8:19Speaker 2: were watching it, and it's like, hey, we'll turn it
- 8:21Speaker 2: on in the living room if y'all like, will stay
- 8:24Speaker 2: out here, hang out with mom and dad, you know,
- 8:26Speaker 2: be present, play with Harlow, do the whole deal. Yeah,
- 8:28Speaker 2: and which they're typically good about. But you know, teen boys,
- 8:32Speaker 2: they like to go play n C Double A and
- 8:33Speaker 2: be on their phones back in the room. And so
- 8:36Speaker 2: they're out and Brock Lesner comes out after John Cena
- 8:42Speaker 2: beats what is Dusty rhodess Son's name, Tody Rhoads, and
- 8:49Speaker 2: they like make this noise that I've never heard them
- 8:51Speaker 2: make before. And of course Harlow was like kind of
- 8:53Speaker 2: napping in the back. She's they wake her up, like
- 8:57Speaker 2: everybody in the house with very excited.
- 8:58Speaker 3: Yes, they like Lesner came.
- 9:00Speaker 2: Out, Yeah, not even like they like Bride, but like
- 9:02Speaker 2: it was like nobody saw it coming or something. So
- 9:05Speaker 2: I definitely know all about it from last night because
- 9:07Speaker 2: the noise they made when brock Lesner came out. It
- 9:10Speaker 2: woke up Harlow.
- 9:10Speaker 5: He's still a big deal, man. I mean, look, people
- 9:12Speaker 5: in the chat are talking about it.
- 9:14Speaker 2: I know, I know. I didn't know it was such
- 9:15Speaker 2: a I didn't know that it was such a thing
- 9:18Speaker 2: still until my my boys started watching it again. It's
- 9:22Speaker 2: like it's on Netflix like every Monday, yeah, Monday night.
- 9:26Speaker 2: It is like a big like a big big deal.
- 9:27Speaker 2: Like the pay per views are on Peacock now, well
- 9:30Speaker 2: it used to be pay per views. Now it's on Peacock.
- 9:33Speaker 2: But I had no idea.
- 9:35Speaker 4: Wait, so you don't have to pay to watch like
- 9:36Speaker 4: WrestleMania or like the money in the Baber.
- 9:39Speaker 5: The big ones.
- 9:40Speaker 2: You do this one like Summer Slam on Peacock. That's crazy, Yeah,
- 9:44Speaker 2: which I guess you still pay for Peacock. That's what
- 9:47Speaker 2: I told the boys.
- 9:48Speaker 5: We used to have to, like I watch the credit
- 9:52Speaker 5: Card on the TV.
- 9:55Speaker 2: Forty five or something. You got to beg your parents
- 9:58Speaker 2: like hey can I or WrestleMania or like my uncle
- 10:02Speaker 2: shout out Sammy like he'd get it and like we'd
- 10:06Speaker 2: all go over there watch Survivor series or whatever it was.
- 10:08Speaker 2: And then the next one crazy my dad would get
- 10:11Speaker 2: and everybody, all the cousins will come over to our
- 10:13Speaker 2: house now just right there on peakle.
- 10:15Speaker 5: And then we were an elementary USA network. They would
- 10:18Speaker 5: rerun they would rerun it the day after. Yeah, home
- 10:22Speaker 5: the day after and be like oh, and it was
- 10:24Speaker 5: cool because like none of us had seen it, so
- 10:25Speaker 5: it's all technically live us.
- 10:27Speaker 2: Yeah, it so easy. Oh you want to watch this
- 10:33Speaker 2: movie on demand, just go type it into the TV.
- 10:36Speaker 2: You don't have to get the TV guide and see
- 10:39Speaker 2: what day of the month it's coming on. And you
- 10:41Speaker 2: better hope that you're home at seven when it starts.
- 10:43Speaker 5: Get a TVO.
- 10:45Speaker 2: This is before like t BO was like incredible because
- 10:49Speaker 2: you could actually kind of go back and paul stuff
- 10:51Speaker 2: all right before we take a break. Uh, we're on air.
- 10:54Speaker 2: We got everything going. When Elandra and I walked in
- 10:57Speaker 2: this morning, you were on the phone. And if somebody's
- 11:00Speaker 2: on the phone talking that loud at six fifty five
- 11:03Speaker 2: in the morning, it's never good.
- 11:05Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 11:06Speaker 5: So Friday we had the issue where it couldn't drag
- 11:09Speaker 5: anything over. Well, guys, it's the same thing this morning. Now,
- 11:14Speaker 5: it wasn't the same for the midday and the afternoon show.
- 11:17Speaker 5: We had a temporary fix.
- 11:18Speaker 1: On the.
- 11:20Speaker 5: Guys, believe it or not.
- 11:22Speaker 2: No way, I'm.
- 11:24Speaker 5: Pig for most of this crowday because if it happens over,
- 11:28Speaker 5: Because if it happens over, there has been nobody knows
- 11:31Speaker 5: until I get here, and I'm like, hey, the hell?
- 11:34Speaker 2: So that's yeah. I think maybe we should start sending
- 11:36Speaker 2: somebody in here for like, I got a life check
- 11:38Speaker 2: on Sunday.
- 11:39Speaker 5: Out pretty quick, do it.
- 11:42Speaker 3: I'm here Sundays anyway.
- 11:44Speaker 2: I don't think you need to do any more than
- 11:45Speaker 2: you already do. I was calling somebody outside of this
- 11:49Speaker 2: room who wants to come in here.
- 11:50Speaker 5: We got to work around. And I know what you're saying.
- 11:52Speaker 5: This was a workaround we had on Friday. Yeah, I
- 11:54Speaker 5: didn't think about it on Friday broke midshow, I didn't
- 11:58Speaker 5: think about it. We're gonna use the livery it's back
- 12:00Speaker 5: here video call.
- 12:03Speaker 2: Look, I'm a meathead. I just sit up here and talked.
- 12:07Speaker 2: I don't know what in the world. Okay, got it ready?
- 12:10Speaker 2: There it goes is right behind it, and let's go ahead.
- 12:12Speaker 2: We'll go to break when we come back. I think
- 12:14Speaker 2: Tata went to practice. I went to practice. Flynn, who's
- 12:18Speaker 2: not here, went to practice, and so, uh, it was
- 12:21Speaker 2: fun to get our eyes on the LSU Tigers. I
- 12:24Speaker 2: was very excited for some of the things that I saw,
- 12:27Speaker 2: and we'll kind of recap everything when we come back
- 12:29Speaker 2: to really get this thing started. Here on OTB off
- 12:33Speaker 2: the bench, all right, go to pelicanroof dot com. Pelicanroof

- 13:54Speaker 1: like only champions can.
- 13:58Speaker 6: All right, welcome back in OTB one oh four five
- 14:08Speaker 6: ESPN ban Roue here on this Monday morning, before we
- 14:13Speaker 6: break down LSU training camp, let's go ahead and get
- 14:16Speaker 6: this thing started.
- 14:18Speaker 1: It's time to get glowing courtesy of go Flow iv SPA,
- 14:22Speaker 1: where hydration vitamins and a summer ready glow are always
- 14:25Speaker 1: on tap now for starters, all.
- 14:29Speaker 2: Right, go to goflowiv dot com. That's for go Flow
- 14:32Speaker 2: iv spa health and wellness membership packages right there on

- 14:46Speaker 2: all the information on the website. But if you just
- 14:48Speaker 2: want to pick up the phone, give them a call.
- 14:50Speaker 2: That is two two five nine five three eight one
- 14:52Speaker 2: five zero kind of have a conversation with them. I mean,
- 14:56Speaker 2: they are going to get you hydrated for this summer heat.
- 14:59Speaker 2: You can proactive, reactive. I mean they kind of deal
- 15:02Speaker 2: obviously with both their open Monday through Thursday nine thirty
- 15:06Speaker 2: to six pm, Friday through Sunday nine thirty am to
- 15:09Speaker 2: four thirty pm. And again that is go flow iv
- 15:14Speaker 2: dot com. All right, Tay, I'll throw it to you
- 15:17Speaker 2: before I kind of give some thoughts. You were at
- 15:19Speaker 2: practice the full time on Saturday. I was also there
- 15:23Speaker 2: on Saturday. So let's see if you know, see if
- 15:26Speaker 2: some of the things that we saw actually line up.
- 15:29Speaker 5: First thing, when I highlights the secondary, because they were
- 15:32Speaker 5: awful last year in fall practice, like you you could
- 15:35Speaker 5: kind of.
- 15:35Speaker 2: See it cut off.
- 15:36Speaker 5: You could come see it coming a little bit last year.
- 15:38Speaker 5: Like we had talked about their flaws, Yeah, coming into
- 15:40Speaker 5: the year last year, and that was the big concern.
- 15:42Speaker 5: I think the secondary looks really good, Like there's guys
- 15:45Speaker 5: battling for spots, like Stamps and Delane have kind of
- 15:48Speaker 5: been the top two for the most part, but like
- 15:50Speaker 5: Keen Jackson got in there and made place. DJ Pickett
- 15:53Speaker 5: looks the part already. The safety rotation which I love
- 15:57Speaker 5: that Hawse and Cooley both got the start.
- 16:00Speaker 2: It was a little bit bigger than I thought he
- 16:01Speaker 2: was off tape. No, no, oh Cooley.
- 16:04Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 16:04Speaker 2: I mean I'm not saying he's a giant, like he's
- 16:06Speaker 2: probably two eight two ten. On tape, he looked like
- 16:09Speaker 2: he was like one ninety five, yeah, somewhere around there.
- 16:12Speaker 2: Like I kind of went up and he made a play,
- 16:14Speaker 2: and I'm like, say zero Cooley and I forget what
- 16:18Speaker 2: staff Moanro was talking like, yeah, I was like, okay,
- 16:20Speaker 2: I did not have him playing that role and playing
- 16:23Speaker 2: that side. So he flashed him as well.
- 16:25Speaker 5: Yeah he's big. If this offensive line can be average,
- 16:31Speaker 5: Caden Durham has a chance to be all sec. I
- 16:33Speaker 5: think he looks phenomenal out there. I mean, also, what
- 16:37Speaker 5: you notice is seven on seven, eleven on eleven, Caden
- 16:41Speaker 5: Durham's getting the ball very often. Like I think eleven
- 16:45Speaker 5: on eleven each period we saw he got the ball
- 16:48Speaker 5: first play and then first two plays and seven to
- 16:50Speaker 5: seven they threw it to him out at the backfield
- 16:52Speaker 5: like they love going to Caden Durham. And then people
- 16:55Speaker 5: are gonna be surprised how versatile Bower Sharp is Yeah,
- 16:58Speaker 5: people talk about trade Desgreen. You know he's gonna move inside,
- 17:00Speaker 5: He's gonna move outside. I saw Bower Sharp lined up
- 17:03Speaker 5: at tight end with his hand in the dirt. I
- 17:04Speaker 5: saw him line up at slot receiver, and I saw
- 17:06Speaker 5: him line up at running back with Caden Durham. They
- 17:09Speaker 5: were on either side of Garrett Nosemier. That guy's gonna
- 17:11Speaker 5: play a lot of footballs as well.
- 17:13Speaker 2: Yeah. I was having a conversation with the strength staff
- 17:15Speaker 2: and they said, probably the biggest surprise, in a positive way,
- 17:20Speaker 2: of all the new people, be at high school or
- 17:22Speaker 2: be it people that came in through the portal, Bower
- 17:24Speaker 2: Sharp certainly is that guy didn't didn't quite know all
- 17:29Speaker 2: the things that he could do. And so we actually
- 17:32Speaker 2: kind of line up because the defensive backs was something
- 17:35Speaker 2: that I was like, Okay, this is this is better.
- 17:37Speaker 2: This looks much better than it did a year ago.
- 17:40Speaker 2: I mean, since you already went for they were terrible
- 17:42Speaker 2: last year. The law and the transfers looked the part.
- 17:47Speaker 2: They look like veteran players. Now pick it to somebody.
- 17:51Speaker 2: I don't know if it's right out of the gates.
- 17:54Speaker 2: I don't know if it's in Clemson South Carolina, but
- 17:57Speaker 2: at some point he has the look of some's going
- 18:00Speaker 2: to be hard to take off the field as a
- 18:02Speaker 2: true freshman. I don't know when that happens. I don't
- 18:06Speaker 2: know how he evolves as a player and if it's
- 18:08Speaker 2: later in the season. But he was in there against
- 18:12Speaker 2: the ones, I mean multiple multiple times. Now, he wasn't
- 18:15Speaker 2: running with the ones, you know specifically every single time out,
- 18:18Speaker 2: but he was rotating in against the one offense. And
- 18:21Speaker 2: so that's somebody that looks like so far, he is
- 18:23Speaker 2: living up to all the billing we had out of
- 18:25Speaker 2: high school. But my biggest takeaway of the entire practice
- 18:31Speaker 2: that I saw from inside run to eleven on eleven
- 18:36Speaker 2: to whatever drill it was, is Kaden Durham is going
- 18:39Speaker 2: to be an all SEC running back. Ye I don't
- 18:42Speaker 2: know if his first team, I don't know if it's
- 18:43Speaker 2: the second team. And the only reason average, the only
- 18:46Speaker 2: reason it's going to be second team is because he
- 18:48Speaker 2: might not get the rushes that somebody else gets. Because
- 18:52Speaker 2: even last year, we're talking about somebody that had seven
- 18:55Speaker 2: hundred and fifty yards on the ground, averaged five and
- 18:58Speaker 2: a half yards per carry, and remember he had a
- 19:00Speaker 2: foot toe injury basically the final eight games, and he
- 19:06Speaker 2: was never fully healthy. I cannot tell you how many
- 19:08Speaker 2: times after a game we'd be getting on the team
- 19:11Speaker 2: plane and the coaches would be like, man, that run
- 19:14Speaker 2: that Cayden had if he was healthy, he hits his
- 19:17Speaker 2: head on the goalpost, like he would have finished that
- 19:19Speaker 2: in the end zone, right, I forget you know which
- 19:22Speaker 2: game it was, But he had a couple where he
- 19:24Speaker 2: broke out and look they were like sixty yard runs,
- 19:26Speaker 2: but he'd get caught before he got to the end zone.
- 19:29Speaker 2: And like he is just gritting his way through this
- 19:31Speaker 2: foot injury. And so being a true freshman, knowing you
- 19:35Speaker 2: have elite speed and you are fully healthy, that should
- 19:38Speaker 2: get LSU fans excited. And not only the seven hundred
- 19:41Speaker 2: and fifty yards on the ground, but he also added
- 19:44Speaker 2: twenty seven catches. That's a pretty big number that probably
- 19:47Speaker 2: puts him I think firmly it would put him in
- 19:51Speaker 2: top ten catches by a running back in a season.
- 19:55Speaker 2: Like it's kind of that category, like it's right there,
- 19:57Speaker 2: probably only on the verge of that, and and that's
- 20:01Speaker 2: got to be something that continues to go up as well.
- 20:04Speaker 2: Now it's training camp, so we didn't see a ton
- 20:08Speaker 2: and it was what day three or four, we didn't
- 20:10Speaker 2: see a ton of like blitzes and him having to
- 20:12Speaker 2: pick up guys off the edge or pick up a safety,
- 20:15Speaker 2: you know, coming on the backside of a blitz. That's
- 20:18Speaker 2: where he had to go up. In my opinion, that's
- 20:21Speaker 2: where you're gonna miss Josh Williams, because Josh Williams was
- 20:24Speaker 2: he was mister fixer, right, he was the guy that
- 20:27Speaker 2: would come and whatever the problem was, he would fix it. Now,
- 20:30Speaker 2: the ceiling might not be where Cadence was, but you
- 20:32Speaker 2: knew Josh was gonna be really good in pass protection
- 20:34Speaker 2: as well. That's got to go up because LSU's gonna
- 20:37Speaker 2: throw the football and you're gonna throw the football a lot,
- 20:40Speaker 2: and that look, you can't in today's college football, really
- 20:43Speaker 2: any level of football. You can't have a running back
- 20:46Speaker 2: that's only a two down back. He's got to be
- 20:48Speaker 2: a three down back, certainly with the way he can
- 20:49Speaker 2: catch the football. And so I want to see that.
- 20:53Speaker 2: And if he has that, if he's gone up a
- 20:55Speaker 2: couple steps in that, then I will I think I'm
- 20:57Speaker 2: already standing fully behind my all sees he like he'll
- 21:01Speaker 2: be a he'll be a first team guy if he
- 21:04Speaker 2: has thirty six catches, is really good in pass protection,
- 21:09Speaker 2: and doesn't have to come off the field, He's going
- 21:12Speaker 2: to be a thousand yard rusher of healthy. Oh yeah,
- 21:14Speaker 2: and that's gonna happen.
- 21:15Speaker 5: Like I'm good with him having twenty carries a game,
- 21:18Speaker 5: Caleb Jackson coming in and spelling him for maybe eight
- 21:21Speaker 5: Harlem Berry, maybe you know six or seven, Like I
- 21:24Speaker 5: want Kaden Durham to do the bulk of the work.
- 21:27Speaker 5: Last thing I noticed, anytime a player like Aaron Anderson
- 21:32Speaker 5: misses practice, it should stand out. It didn't. And that's
- 21:35Speaker 5: not a knock on Aaron Anderson. It's because the rest
- 21:38Speaker 5: of the receiver room's really good. Like I had heard
- 21:40Speaker 5: a couple of people, you know, cause like the first
- 21:42Speaker 5: couple of days of practice we weren't able to go
- 21:44Speaker 5: because it was like nine am Saturday. Was my first
- 21:46Speaker 5: time out there.
- 21:47Speaker 2: Yeah, I had heard so.
- 21:48Speaker 5: Many people say, oh, Dustin Hill, Dustin Hill, Dustin Hill.
- 21:50Speaker 5: And I'm like, okay. Every year, just like in the NFL,
- 21:53Speaker 5: there's a guy that people fall in love with. Dustin Hill.
- 21:55Speaker 5: Looks like he's gonna actually play and play a lot
- 21:57Speaker 5: of football. Nick Anderson looks like he's almost full healthy,
- 22:00Speaker 5: like Chris Hilden's out there catching balls like Kyle lark
- 22:03Speaker 5: and Anderson, Kyle Parker, Kyle.
- 22:05Speaker 2: Parker in the run game. And look, I know that's
- 22:08Speaker 2: not something that people want to hear a lot about
- 22:10Speaker 2: a receiver in the run game. They're asking their receivers
- 22:14Speaker 2: to do more on the edge. I don't know if
- 22:15Speaker 2: you noticed that. And again it's one practice. They got
- 22:18Speaker 2: some runs up where they're asking their receivers to do
- 22:21Speaker 2: their part, and Kyle Parker was a dog out there
- 22:25Speaker 2: on the edge. Now again, you've got ten receivers that
- 22:29Speaker 2: feel like they can go out there and find time.
- 22:31Speaker 2: And I don't know how that's going to work itself out,
- 22:33Speaker 2: but that feels like something that they're looking for is
- 22:36Speaker 2: receivers they can also do their part on the edges.
- 22:39Speaker 5: Well, Kelly's opening press conference that I had to go
- 22:42Speaker 5: to on Wednesday unsolicited mention Kyle Parker by name when
- 22:46Speaker 5: I asked about the receivers. Like anytime a coacher does
- 22:49Speaker 5: that when not being specifically asked about a player, that's
- 22:51Speaker 5: something I take notes.
- 22:52Speaker 2: I'll say this too. I had an offensive coach did
- 22:54Speaker 2: the same thing after practice. Well, yeah, he was really.
- 22:57Speaker 5: Good the first three or four games of the year,
- 22:59Speaker 5: maybe called the deep ball into UCLA and was kind
- 23:02Speaker 5: of hurt. The rest of the year, he looks good.
- 23:04Speaker 5: But Juwan Johnson is a guy that like he got
- 23:08Speaker 5: carries in the backfield, a ton of them on Saturday.
- 23:12Speaker 5: Like I left Saturday practice being like, Okay, if the
- 23:15Speaker 5: season started today, Jawan Johnson's your number two running back.
- 23:18Speaker 5: And you know when the two's were out there in
- 23:20Speaker 5: seven on seven he rotated in with with Michael van
- 23:23Speaker 5: Buren at quarterback. He didn't have the red jersey on,
- 23:25Speaker 5: but yeah, he lined up out wide, he lined up
- 23:28Speaker 5: there's a plan for you.
- 23:29Speaker 2: He lined up at.
- 23:30Speaker 5: Running back like he's gonna play.
- 23:31Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't think there's any question it. I'm be honest, Like,
- 23:35Speaker 2: backup running back is a little bit of a worry
- 23:37Speaker 2: for me because you have two true freshmen. Now, I
- 23:43Speaker 2: I can't sit up here and act like I don't
- 23:45Speaker 2: always say it, because I do. Like, if you can
- 23:46Speaker 2: transition from high school to college fast, it's going to
- 23:49Speaker 2: be at running back. But still that might take four
- 23:52Speaker 2: five games, Like doesn't matter how good you are, Like,
- 23:56Speaker 2: think about all this stud running back like Leonard Fournetes
- 23:58Speaker 2: freshman year, was a grown man. But it took him
- 24:00Speaker 2: like three or four games. Because you've always been able
- 24:04Speaker 2: to get the football and hit a home run like
- 24:06Speaker 2: your head's on the goalpost. You got to learn how
- 24:09Speaker 2: to read it a little bit right. It's faster. You
- 24:11Speaker 2: got to take a seven yard run and not always
- 24:13Speaker 2: look for the seventy yard run. And Leonard did that
- 24:15Speaker 2: incredibly fast. But are these backs like J. T. Lindsay's
- 24:19Speaker 2: long man. His frame is going to be able to
- 24:22Speaker 2: add a ton more to it, Maybe not this year,
- 24:25Speaker 2: but certainly next year. And those young guys are going
- 24:27Speaker 2: to play. Caleb Jackson's got to be effective for this team.
- 24:32Speaker 2: He just has to be. There's no question about it.
- 24:35Speaker 2: Like as much as I think Cayden Dorman can be Superman,
- 24:39Speaker 2: He's going to need a breather. He's gonna there's gonna
- 24:42Speaker 2: be a time in a big game where he hits
- 24:44Speaker 2: a long run and he taps the top of his helmet,
- 24:46Speaker 2: ask him to come out and when Caleb Jackson rolls
- 24:49Speaker 2: out there, they have to get production. He is one
- 24:53Speaker 2: of the most important players I think on this football team.
- 24:56Speaker 2: Certainly non starters because of what they have to have
- 25:00Speaker 2: him do, not what they would like for him to do.
- 25:02Speaker 2: They have to have him be successful when he's out there.
- 25:06Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean, at least just like you don't. You
- 25:08Speaker 5: don't have that short yardage back. And I understand Josh
- 25:12Speaker 5: Williams wasn't built like a short yardage back, but he
- 25:14Speaker 5: was damn good.
- 25:16Speaker 2: He came back.
- 25:16Speaker 5: He was by by sixty year. Yeah, but he was
- 25:20Speaker 5: really good at it. Like kid En Durham could maybe
- 25:22Speaker 5: be that guy. But look, we talked about Jawan Johnson.
- 25:25Speaker 5: He's not really a short yardage guy. He's more of
- 25:28Speaker 5: a finesse guy. Kind of the same thing with Harlan
- 25:30Speaker 5: Berry and JT.
- 25:31Speaker 2: Lindsay.
- 25:31Speaker 5: There's gonna be a role for Caleb Jackson at least
- 25:33Speaker 5: in short yardaget at least early.
- 25:35Speaker 2: In the year.
- 25:35Speaker 5: Happen to be because you talked about it like it
- 25:37Speaker 5: might be easy to adjust as at a running back
- 25:40Speaker 5: as freshman. But they physically look like freshmen right now,
- 25:43Speaker 5: like they're they're a little on the lighter side. I
- 25:45Speaker 5: think they need to gain a little bit, so Calyb's
- 25:47Speaker 5: gonna have to play early.
- 25:48Speaker 2: That's all I was saying. With with j T. You
- 25:51Speaker 2: can tell, like, so he just got here. I believe
- 25:53Speaker 2: in the summer he wasn't an earlier. You can tell,
- 25:56Speaker 2: like you can look at him and say, oh, that
- 25:58Speaker 2: guy can add fifteen pounds to frame with ease and
- 26:01Speaker 2: not lose anything. But he's not gonna do it right now,
- 26:05Speaker 2: Like that's gonna take some time. Like Caleb Jackson is
- 26:09Speaker 2: going to be as important as any non starter on
- 26:13Speaker 2: this team offense or defense, because he's going to have
- 26:18Speaker 2: to give you something, like there has to be something there.
- 26:22Speaker 2: It doesn't matter what year you look at for LSU,
- 26:26Speaker 2: Like the most historic seasons that LSU's ever had, they've
- 26:31Speaker 2: had a bell cow, but they've also had players underneath
- 26:36Speaker 2: that bell coal that helped them win national championships. I mean,
- 26:41Speaker 2: you can look at it in three like there's five
- 26:45Speaker 2: backs and seven. There's five backs and eleven when they
- 26:48Speaker 2: got there and didn't win it, but does a damn
- 26:50Speaker 2: good football team there was five backs. Clyde's kind of
- 26:53Speaker 2: the outlier now because Clyd's kind of in the similar
- 26:56Speaker 2: situation that Barry finds himself in, or sorry, Durham finds
- 27:00Speaker 2: himself in. Because Barry, it's kind of like Emory and
- 27:02Speaker 2: you had TDP. He was a young player as well,
- 27:05Speaker 2: and but for the most part, and still those guys
- 27:08Speaker 2: made plays that year in nineteen, you're going to have
- 27:12Speaker 2: to have somebody step up, and it's got to be
- 27:14Speaker 2: Caleb Jackson because you've got two true freshmen behind him,
- 27:18Speaker 2: So certainly going to be somebody we continue to watch,
- 27:21Speaker 2: and he's going to have to continue to develop, continue
- 27:25Speaker 2: He looks apart and we know he's got a skill set,
- 27:28Speaker 2: but he's got to put all that together to help
- 27:30Speaker 2: LSU move the football. All right, let's talk a little recruiting.
- 27:34Speaker 2: LSU had another big week and another big commit and
- 27:37Speaker 2: we'll do that when we come back here on OTB
- 27:40Speaker 2: off the bench, all right, Good to All Star toylet
- 27:45Speaker 2: baton rouge dot com. Like I know that summertime, it's
- 27:51Speaker 2: basically over, a lot of people go back to school
- 27:54Speaker 2: this week, and I'm sorry for that. I'm sorry that
- 27:57Speaker 2: that moment has come right somber vacation and being toes
- 28:01Speaker 2: in the sand. All that's gonna end. But it does
- 28:03Speaker 2: not mean that you still can't rent a Toyota from
- 28:06Speaker 2: All Star because you're gonna have a trip. Maybe it's
- 28:09Speaker 2: a trip to go watch the Tigers player. Maybe you
- 28:11Speaker 2: want to go watch the Saints play a road game
- 28:13Speaker 2: like whatever it might or maybe I mean, maybe you're
- 28:16Speaker 2: a high school football parent and you're playing, you know,
- 28:19Speaker 2: up in North Louisiana, and you're like, we need something
- 28:21Speaker 2: a little bit bigger. We got to drive up three
- 28:23Speaker 2: half four hours. Go rent a Toyota. Everything is available,
- 28:28Speaker 2: So if you need something bigger, they've got you. But
- 28:29Speaker 2: always remember you're buying new, if you're leasing, if you're renting,
- 28:33Speaker 2: everything they offer is always available in all three processes.
- 28:37Speaker 2: Go to the website today to reserve your vehicle.
- 28:39Speaker 1: All Star Toyota, ft roos thatcom, Tiger's turntalkre's this is
- 29:01Speaker 1: off the bench.
- 29:10Speaker 2: All right, Welcome back in OTB one O four to five, ESPN,
- 29:14Speaker 2: Baton Rouge talk a little LSU football, LSU recruiting. Bryce
- 29:19Speaker 2: Kuon is going to join us to do so over
- 29:22Speaker 2: there now at on three Sports. Bryce, We appreciate the time, man,
- 29:25Speaker 2: congrats on the new gig.
- 29:27Speaker 7: Yeah, man, no better time to start. Right in the
- 29:31Speaker 7: midst of the beginning of fall camp, and obviously with
- 29:34Speaker 7: what the recruiting run LSU's been on. It's been quite
- 29:37Speaker 7: the run there too, So no better time to start
- 29:39Speaker 7: than right now.
- 29:41Speaker 2: They are absolutely on a heater. And it feels like
- 29:44Speaker 2: every time that we talk LSU recruiting this cycle, it's like,
- 29:47Speaker 2: all right, well, where did we leave off? Like who's
- 29:50Speaker 2: the last guy that they got that we talked about?
- 29:52Speaker 2: And you try to like kind of play catch up
- 29:54Speaker 2: a little bit, so for our listeners, like, what has
- 29:56Speaker 2: the last ten days or so been like for LSU
- 29:59Speaker 2: on the train?
- 30:01Speaker 7: Yeah, I mean I think you kind of hit the
- 30:02Speaker 7: nail on the head. And just in terms of if
- 30:04Speaker 7: you're a fan, you're a subscriber to one of the
- 30:06Speaker 7: many message boards on this beat, it's like, you know,
- 30:09Speaker 7: did you turn your head and you miss the commitment
- 30:11Speaker 7: or you turn your head and you miss kind of
- 30:13Speaker 7: the latest tidbit or nuggets. So it's really has been
- 30:15Speaker 7: a whirlwind, and you know, you kind of go back
- 30:17Speaker 7: to I guess Darius McKinley, which feels like it was
- 30:21Speaker 7: you know, five, six, seven days ago. It was just
- 30:23Speaker 7: a couple of days ago. Obviously had of a Kadian
- 30:26Speaker 7: over there, brother of Don McKinley, and a guy that
- 30:30Speaker 7: you know made his decision and really and truthfully, you know,
- 30:33Speaker 7: I didn't, I didn't. Nobody wanted to spoil it for him,
- 30:35Speaker 7: But this was a race that LSU was really kind
- 30:38Speaker 7: of leading the whole way. I mean, you go back
- 30:40Speaker 7: to the race for Dom and how LSU flips him
- 30:43Speaker 7: on New Year's a couple of week years ago, and
- 30:46Speaker 7: you know, just Darius and what he brings to the table.
- 30:48Speaker 7: That with the way that family feels about the LSU staff,
- 30:51Speaker 7: even you know, into transition from from Bo Davis to
- 30:54Speaker 7: to Kyle Williams, man, it's just just continued to stay silent.
- 30:57Speaker 7: So Darius McKinley obviously going to Hu's LSU was there,
- 31:01Speaker 7: and he's been on sow campus so many times, just
- 31:04Speaker 7: on family Day when the families allowed to practice. It's
- 31:07Speaker 7: it's the amount of unofficial visits he's taken, probably rivals
- 31:10Speaker 7: a guy like Lamar Brown, you know, who's right there
- 31:13Speaker 7: on campus. So that was a big pick up. And
- 31:17Speaker 7: then obviously Menust Geralds I mean good Grier, I mean Jacob,
- 31:21Speaker 7: I mean, I'm a guy that's from the state of Georgia.
- 31:23Speaker 7: Originally I watched Gerald's play up at Colin until multiple
- 31:27Speaker 7: troops for making the move, you know, down to Louisiana
- 31:30Speaker 7: and would you get a guy who and maybe I'm
- 31:33Speaker 7: a little biased here, but when you get a guy
- 31:35Speaker 7: here is from Louisiana, understands the culture, understands what LSU's about,
- 31:40Speaker 7: the relationship between his dad and Frank Wilson, and he
- 31:44Speaker 7: still gets to go play some really really great high
- 31:47Speaker 7: school balls six, A, seven, eight all over there in
- 31:50Speaker 7: the state of Georgia, which is really really good at
- 31:52Speaker 7: that level. I mean, it's just that's the kind of
- 31:55Speaker 7: development piece you look at and you say, Okay, he's
- 31:57Speaker 7: doing it against guys that are going to play D one,
- 32:00Speaker 7: and we know he's going to be able to make
- 32:01Speaker 7: the transition as long as the head's on straight. And
- 32:03Speaker 7: that was something they just had to bet in terms of,
- 32:06Speaker 7: you know, making sure that he understood that this wasn't,
- 32:09Speaker 7: you know, another six day high school football game. This
- 32:11Speaker 7: is this is the big Boy League. And so, you know,
- 32:14Speaker 7: LSU did a great job, I can say in terms
- 32:16Speaker 7: of making sure everything was right in this recruitment. This
- 32:19Speaker 7: was kind of an organ lean for a while, but
- 32:22Speaker 7: we had kept telling our subscribers, you know, hey, don't
- 32:25Speaker 7: count him out here. That relationship with his dad and
- 32:27Speaker 7: Frank Wilson who recruited him to Whole Miss and then
- 32:29Speaker 7: obviously with what he had going on in terms of
- 32:32Speaker 7: the amount of times he's been on campus, it just
- 32:35Speaker 7: never felt like LSU was out of it. And I
- 32:37Speaker 7: guess for Tiger fans it feels pretty good because if
- 32:39Speaker 7: we're telling you LSU's not out of it oftentimes and
- 32:41Speaker 7: not Austin Thomas and the crew are getting it done
- 32:43Speaker 7: and able to kind of, you know, put the nail
- 32:46Speaker 7: in the coffin with a lot of these recruitments.
- 32:48Speaker 2: Yeah, and it really does bright seem like it's a
- 32:50Speaker 2: point of emphasis to shore up the defensive line and
- 32:54Speaker 2: kind of get it back to we all used to
- 32:56Speaker 2: know the LSU defensive line. That's not to say that
- 32:59Speaker 2: they haven't had in the past, but I mean you
- 33:01Speaker 2: would look up and there would be four pros in
- 33:04Speaker 2: front of you, and I know, like I like I
- 33:05Speaker 2: can speak on on our team, like our best player
- 33:08Speaker 2: on our championship team was a defensive tackle. It was
- 33:11Speaker 2: Glenn Dorsey. And it does feel like Kyle Williams now
- 33:14Speaker 2: coming in as a defensive line coach, he's got kind
- 33:17Speaker 2: of a prototype that he's looking at, like some of
- 33:20Speaker 2: these guys. They're not your three hundred and fifty pound
- 33:23Speaker 2: defensive tackles, like you have some of that, but it
- 33:25Speaker 2: looks like it's like the two hundred and seventy two
- 33:27Speaker 2: hundred and eighty five pound defensive tackles, and they really
- 33:30Speaker 2: kind of got, you know, a certain body type that
- 33:33Speaker 2: they're looking for at that position.
- 33:35Speaker 7: Yeah, i'd agree. And even being at a a you know,
- 33:37Speaker 7: fall practice on you're seeing type of drills to Kyle
- 33:41Speaker 7: Williams is running these guys through and they want to
- 33:43Speaker 7: be athletics stein Stett, I mean, yeah, you still have
- 33:47Speaker 7: to have, you know, your big run stuffers. You got
- 33:49Speaker 7: to have guys that can you know, take on a
- 33:50Speaker 7: double team and not be moved off the line. But
- 33:53Speaker 7: you got to have guys that are disruptors of this league,
- 33:55Speaker 7: right and you have to have guys that understand how
- 33:58Speaker 7: to use and utilize their hands. Have you know this
- 34:01Speaker 7: this ability to shed a block and then make a
- 34:03Speaker 7: play in the bankfield. They're not just you know, stalling
- 34:05Speaker 7: the offensive line. They're pushing them back and making some plays.
- 34:08Speaker 7: And you know, I think maybe the prototype of what
- 34:11Speaker 7: we're seeing currently on that D line is a guy
- 34:14Speaker 7: like a mod bro who put on too much weight
- 34:16Speaker 7: to even play defensive tackle. And now you're looking at
- 34:19Speaker 7: who they're recruiting in that kind of well to say
- 34:21Speaker 7: two seventy to two ninety range, Well they're looking at Okay,
- 34:24Speaker 7: how are they utilizing bros. The guy who can move
- 34:27Speaker 7: side to side? You know when he played along that
- 34:29Speaker 7: entire defensive line and rustling a couple of years ago
- 34:31Speaker 7: and that's what he was known for, and even playing
- 34:33Speaker 7: on the edge a little bit. So yeah, I just
- 34:35Speaker 7: think where they're moving in terms of how they want
- 34:38Speaker 7: to recruit this defensive line. Maybe you know, old school
- 34:41Speaker 7: fans are saying, hey, where's the big three hundred and
- 34:43Speaker 7: thirty pounder, right, I mean one those guys don't grow
- 34:46Speaker 7: on trees, and you got to make sure they can
- 34:47Speaker 7: move a little bit too. And the guy got like
- 34:49Speaker 7: Saverir Mitchell, who's you know, kid can be that for them.
- 34:52Speaker 7: But just in terms of how they're recruiting men you
- 34:54Speaker 7: look along that defensive line, I mean, uh, it's it
- 34:57Speaker 7: has the potential to be one of the better ones
- 34:59Speaker 7: when you go back to the recruiting rankings, just based
- 35:02Speaker 7: off of that potential, it's gonna be the chance to
- 35:04Speaker 7: be one of the better ones in LSU recruiting history.
- 35:08Speaker 2: Talking recruiting with Bryce Koon here on OTB and you
- 35:12Speaker 2: mentioned Lamar Brown there and we all know, I mean,
- 35:15Speaker 2: how highly touted he is. And it's so obviously like
- 35:17Speaker 2: him coming and committing and all that's like it's going
- 35:20Speaker 2: to be a big get. But even more importantly, like
- 35:23Speaker 2: from him being from U High being on campus then't
- 35:26Speaker 2: look full disclosure, our listener, that's where my kids go.
- 35:29Speaker 2: Our listeners know that way, talk about it all the
- 35:31Speaker 2: time and like that that look, that's even one of
- 35:33Speaker 2: my worries all the times, like, man, are they really
- 35:34Speaker 2: gonna want to go, you know, to school at LSU.
- 35:37Speaker 2: I sure hope, so that they've been on campus their
- 35:39Speaker 2: entire lives, Like it's always a concern. But so like
- 35:42Speaker 2: to get him from where he was at school and
- 35:44Speaker 2: now you've kind of got this little nice pipeline you've created.
- 35:47Speaker 2: But like last year you get Moses, now you get Brown,
- 35:50Speaker 2: and a guy that's here in the city can kind
- 35:53Speaker 2: of be that lead recruiter. So as much as like
- 35:55Speaker 2: on the field certainly helps, Like what Lamar Brown seems
- 35:58Speaker 2: like he's doing off the field for this class is
- 36:00Speaker 2: also helping as much or you know, maybe it seems
- 36:03Speaker 2: like right now because he's already locked in you know more.
- 36:07Speaker 7: Yeah, And I mean I've kind of taken a step
- 36:09Speaker 7: further here with you. The leader that Lamar Brown is
- 36:12Speaker 7: in the recruiting room is goes well beyond just the
- 36:15Speaker 7: tweet that he put out you know yesterday, right. I mean,
- 36:18Speaker 7: this is a guy who you know, has done the
- 36:20Speaker 7: camp circuit, has built relationships, you know, in terms of
- 36:24Speaker 7: whether it was on the under under camp circuit or
- 36:25Speaker 7: wherever it was. I mean, he's building those relationships in
- 36:29Speaker 7: terms of saying, hey, you know, come play with us.
- 36:32Speaker 7: You know, Richard Anderson was a guy who I think
- 36:35Speaker 7: is going to be an absolute monster out of vnic Car.
- 36:37Speaker 7: I mean that guy you talk about he's big and
- 36:39Speaker 7: can move that That's exactly what he is. You know,
- 36:41Speaker 7: he and Lamar are super tight. I've talked with Richard
- 36:43Speaker 7: multiple times about that and just in terms of they
- 36:46Speaker 7: want to build it. Deuce Gerald is the guy that
- 36:48Speaker 7: every single time Duce came to campus, whether it was
- 36:51Speaker 7: official or unofficial, Lamar Brown was around. And so you know,
- 36:54Speaker 7: I always say that that the love from Texas A
- 36:57Speaker 7: and them and even some of the appreciation that was real,
- 36:59Speaker 7: that was never fake. And I think they did a
- 37:02Speaker 7: great job of recruiting him. But else she was always
- 37:04Speaker 7: going to be hard to beat. And you know, here's
- 37:06Speaker 7: the last part of it that you were kind of
- 37:07Speaker 7: hinting at here. I mean, you know there's a safety
- 37:11Speaker 7: over there at Catholic that's looking to head up north,
- 37:13Speaker 7: and you're already trying to see in some of the
- 37:15Speaker 7: push with you know, a move Lsu made in terms
- 37:18Speaker 7: of bringing you know, a staffer from Ohio State down,
- 37:21Speaker 7: and you know, the big question is can you do
- 37:23Speaker 7: enough to flip Blaine Bradford right and Lamar Brown? If
- 37:27Speaker 7: I have to have a guy, a player, or a
- 37:29Speaker 7: recruit helping me in that room, Lamar is one of those.
- 37:33Speaker 7: He and Blaine have a good relationship, and you know,
- 37:36Speaker 7: I don't know if it's something that else she's going
- 37:38Speaker 7: to be able to do. Ohio States had a pretty
- 37:40Speaker 7: good track record developing some safeties and they got a
- 37:42Speaker 7: pretty dangle one good one up there right now that
- 37:45Speaker 7: they're trying to pattern Blaine afterwards. But it's just one
- 37:48Speaker 7: of those things. Man, We're having guys like that who
- 37:50Speaker 7: are vocal leaders and build offensive relationships helps you so much,
- 37:54Speaker 7: and it often goes I guess unseen because we just think, oh,
- 37:57Speaker 7: well they had more money here, they had this. No,
- 38:00Speaker 7: those relationships still do matter and they still play it
- 38:02Speaker 7: for a pivotal role.
- 38:04Speaker 2: All right, Bryce, last one before we let you go,
- 38:07Speaker 2: and we certainly appreciate the time. What's next, Like what's
- 38:10Speaker 2: next for LSU? What are some names to be out
- 38:14Speaker 2: looking forward to see where they're going to end up?
- 38:17Speaker 2: And you know, kind of the next couple of guys
- 38:20Speaker 2: at LSU fans need to really kind of hone in on.
- 38:24Speaker 7: Yep, I'm gonna tell you Green County, Mississippi Ride receiver
- 38:27Speaker 7: Chase Matthews is announcing on August eighth. Talked with him yesterday.
- 38:31Speaker 7: You can check out that full interview over at the
- 38:34Speaker 7: Bingle Tiger. But just kind of a synopsis. Cortet Tankton
- 38:37Speaker 7: has really done a great job here. This is the
- 38:40Speaker 7: kind of a race right now for me, just talking
- 38:42Speaker 7: with some people on both sides and in both programs.
- 38:44Speaker 7: Really it's Auburn and LSU. Derek Nicks over there on
- 38:48Speaker 7: Auburn's staff, he's a Mississippi guy. I believe he's in
- 38:51Speaker 7: the Southern miss Hall of Fame there as well in
- 38:53Speaker 7: terms of his playing career. So he's got really good
- 38:56Speaker 7: roots in that state. Auburn's done a good job here man.
- 39:00Speaker 7: LSU's really pushing and kind of putting a hard selling him,
- 39:04Speaker 7: and his mom is a is a pivotal piece of this,
- 39:07Speaker 7: and so his mom has played a big role in
- 39:09Speaker 7: his recruitment. She's gone on all the visits. She loved LSU.
- 39:12Speaker 7: So that's what I'm watching On August eighth, he'll be
- 39:16Speaker 7: making that decision and then the end of the month,
- 39:17Speaker 7: just kind of another one. Darius Gray, the big offensive
- 39:20Speaker 7: lineman that you know from up there kind of in
- 39:23Speaker 7: the Maryland area. I mean, this is a kid start
- 39:26Speaker 7: of the Virginia area. It's one of those things where
- 39:29Speaker 7: he loves Brad days and a lot of questions is
- 39:32Speaker 7: would he be willing to, you know, move that far
- 39:36Speaker 7: away and just talking with him. The amount of times
- 39:38Speaker 7: he's been to campus, the amount of times that Brad
- 39:40Speaker 7: Davis has reached out. I mean, look, you don't have
- 39:43Speaker 7: to be a diehard LSU fandom to look up what
- 39:45Speaker 7: Davis has done in terms of recruiting good talent that
- 39:48Speaker 7: maybe he's not even sincessarily in the LSU region. I mean,
- 39:51Speaker 7: he's got a national reach with how he recruits, so
- 39:55Speaker 7: great is the guy that I believe announcements on August
- 39:57Speaker 7: of twenty second Right now, I would probably put it
- 40:01Speaker 7: as a South Carolina LSU race, which might you know,
- 40:03Speaker 7: peak some of the interests of LSU fans saying South
- 40:06Speaker 7: Carolina really the game talk with him, man, it's his
- 40:10Speaker 7: longest standing relationship. It's one that started very early on
- 40:13Speaker 7: in his high school career Tennessee Ohio State or in
- 40:17Speaker 7: that race too. But you know, the Tigers have a
- 40:19Speaker 7: really good chance. It's really snagged, you know, some really
- 40:22Speaker 7: good players before the season officially starts. And that's what
- 40:26Speaker 7: you want, right before these kids really get to the
- 40:28Speaker 7: meet and statas of their senior year, get that commitment,
- 40:31Speaker 7: maybe get them for one last visit so they can
- 40:33Speaker 7: experience that game day atmosphere and know that's something that
- 40:35Speaker 7: Gray is excited to do, regardless of where he commenced
- 40:39Speaker 7: on the twenty second. So, man, it's there's some potential
- 40:42Speaker 7: for some spils fireworks before LSU kicks off against Clemson.
- 40:46Speaker 2: Are there? He is Bryce Coon good enough to join
- 40:48Speaker 2: us at Bryce underscore Coon is to handle on social media.
- 40:51Speaker 2: Game a follow there at Bengal Tiger on three also
- 40:55Speaker 2: always throwing up LSU articles. Give them a follow as well. Bryce.
- 40:58Speaker 2: We appreciate the time man, look forward to our next conversation.
- 41:02Speaker 2: Thanks though, all right, we will step away and when
- 41:06Speaker 2: we come back to end our number one, Taylor's top three.
- 41:10Speaker 2: I like that alliteration there. It was Taylor's top five.
- 41:13Speaker 2: I think Taylor's top three sounds better. We can talk
- 41:16Speaker 2: about it during the break alliteration triple t. I don't know,
- 41:20Speaker 2: we'll figure it out. Taylor's going to give you a
- 41:21Speaker 2: list when we come back here on O TV. Off

- 42:44Speaker 1: and Rouge's go to for all things Louisiana sports.
- 42:50Speaker 2: All right, welcome back in OTV. It's time now for
- 42:53Speaker 2: Taylor's Top three or we'll see how he's acting. Tata's
- 42:57Speaker 2: Top three.
- 43:00Speaker 5: Number three for me, it's Lushu's a big recruiting weekend.
- 43:03Speaker 5: I mean we just talked about it with with Bryce Coon.
- 43:06Speaker 5: You get Deucey Gerald's on board, you get McKinley, Darius McKinley,
- 43:10Speaker 5: that is on board as well. The Tigers aren't done.
- 43:13Speaker 5: There's a lot of top prospects that are gonna be
- 43:15Speaker 5: in the mix with the time BN. I think LSU
- 43:17Speaker 5: has done a great job. Like we were talking transfer
- 43:19Speaker 5: port a little bit earlier. LSU could start eighteen transfer
- 43:22Speaker 5: players potentially on this year's team, like whether it's high school,
- 43:25Speaker 5: whether it's transfer. I think Kelly has done an excellent job.
- 43:30Speaker 5: Number two for me, we're actually top two. We're gonna
- 43:32Speaker 5: be baseball, big, big stitch out over here. Julio Rodriguez,
- 43:38Speaker 5: I should say he homered over the weekend as the
- 43:41Speaker 5: Rangers beat As the Mariners beat the Rangers. He became
- 43:45Speaker 5: the first player in Major League history to have twenty
- 43:47Speaker 5: home runs and twenty stolen bases in each of his
- 43:51Speaker 5: first four seasons. Our guy made history over the weekend.
- 43:55Speaker 5: And then Number one for me, it's it's Bristol Motor Speedway.
- 43:58Speaker 5: We were talking about it, Darren, like the NASCAR sounds
- 44:02Speaker 5: the game like you were talking. Game one actually got postponed,
- 44:05Speaker 5: which would have been a really big pictures duel. But
- 44:09Speaker 5: the sounds of that the NASCAR like ninety one thousand
- 44:13Speaker 5: people in that stadium, right, yes, that is that is
- 44:16Speaker 5: the biggest ever for a Major League baseball game. It
- 44:19Speaker 5: was phenomenal. Like you saw Tennessee do this against Virginia
- 44:23Speaker 5: Tech a few years ago. They were at I think
- 44:27Speaker 5: they were at Talladego where they played that game, and
- 44:30Speaker 5: it was awesome. They played the football game. The baseball
- 44:33Speaker 5: game in Bristol was excellent. Like that's that. That's number
- 44:36Speaker 5: one over the weekend by a long shot.
- 44:39Speaker 2: Where would y'all like to see a baseball game be played?
- 44:43Speaker 2: Because they've actually branched out, we've had to field of dreams.
- 44:46Speaker 4: I want them to bring that back, Okay, I want
- 44:50Speaker 4: them to do that at least once a year.
- 44:52Speaker 2: Yeah, I agree. That was awesome.
- 44:53Speaker 3: It's awesome.
- 44:54Speaker 2: Yeah. I mean even like you know the memes that
- 44:56Speaker 2: came out with Kevin Costner looking around stuff, it was
- 44:58Speaker 2: still really really cool. Yeah, because baseball needs some juice, right,
- 45:03Speaker 2: they need something.
- 45:04Speaker 3: Just let them start doing steroids again.
- 45:06Speaker 5: The conversation over the weekend, I heard a lot of
- 45:09Speaker 5: people bring up does this help baseball more? Nascar? And more?
- 45:13Speaker 5: I say it helps baseball more because like NASCAR is
- 45:15Speaker 5: such a niche market like, sure, but those fans are hardcore. Yeah,
- 45:21Speaker 5: those NASCAR fans are going to go to that baseball
- 45:23Speaker 5: game for sure. Like we talked about the sites, that
- 45:25Speaker 5: sounds it sounded like you were adding NASCAR race. I
- 45:27Speaker 5: think this is huge for baseball.
- 45:28Speaker 2: Yeah, and you know, it's really smart having the Braids there.
- 45:31Speaker 2: I would say of the NASCAR community, the Braids are
- 45:35Speaker 2: probably the team that people root for the most. And
- 45:38Speaker 2: so well done. It was very, very cool. Hopefully baseball
- 45:42Speaker 2: does some more of that. Hey, the Braids actually won
- 45:44Speaker 2: a game on Sunday. It lost I think ten straight
- 45:47Speaker 2: on Sunday, So there you go. There's that as well.
- 45:49Speaker 2: All right, hello, somebody big fave kicks off our number
- 45:54Speaker 2: two when we come back on OTB off the bench,
- 45:58Speaker 2: although he did say can you call me it?
- 45:59Speaker 7: Eight?
- 45:59Speaker 2: Oh big fade? What you're doing for five minutes? What
- 46:04Speaker 2: you got going on at serving cheesecake? What we got
