- 0:02Hey, hey, hey, hello, hello and welcome to Terry Messenger's
- 0:08Genius Zone. And you know, as I say, every
- 0:12single week, this is the place in the space where you are going
- 0:18to shift the needle in your life because every week we bring on a
- 0:24superstar. We bring on a coach, healer and
- 0:28leader to impart their wisdom, to talk about their authentic
- 0:34story. And with no further ado, today
- 0:37I'm going to bring forward a wonderful woman.
- 0:42She is really self invented. She completely created herself
- 0:49from the ground up through, you know, lots of experience in
- 0:54sales, going through many, many elements of career paths and she
- 1:01became the founder of Reroute the script.
- 1:06Now this incredible woman, she understands that people want
- 1:13success, but they quite often undermine themself.
- 1:18So this is going to be a great podcast if you are ready to
- 1:24leave your mark on the world because she believes your mark
- 1:29is your movement, your mission. And she understands very well
- 1:34that limiting beliefs can absolutely capture your life and
- 1:41keep you stuck and paralyzed. And you don't have to stay that
- 1:45way anymore. So if you're ready to rise, if
- 1:49you are ready to speak your truth, if you are ready to stay
- 1:53to the end and experience a incredible sequence where she's
- 2:00going to help you reroute the script, then you're going to
- 2:05want to get yourself relaxed. Your favorite drink, sit back,
- 2:08relax. And with no further ado, I
- 2:12introduce Kelly Parker. How are you, Kelly?
- 2:15I'm wonderful, so glad to be here.
- 2:19Fantastic. And where are you?
- 2:21I am in Kentucky, USA. Beautiful, beautiful.
- 2:27So we are all on the other side of the world from each other.
- 2:31And it just goes to show that it doesn't matter whether we're in
- 2:34Rome, Paris, London, KY, Australia, New Zealand, we are
- 2:39all the same. We are all human, We all have
- 2:44limiting beliefs and we all really get down on ourselves.
- 2:50But you know, for you, you have invented yourself here and you
- 2:56had a massive download transmission on your signature
- 3:01program of rerouting the script. Now firstly, I think we'd better
- 3:07speak in plain terms for our listeners.
- 3:11What exactly does rerouting the script mean?
- 3:17The script that I'm referring to is our limiting beliefs
- 3:21basically, or the well, all the beliefs that we developed as a
- 3:26child and a lot of them are limiting.
- 3:29Not all of them, but I'm focusing on the limiting
- 3:33beliefs. But we have to 1st find out what
- 3:36they are, where they came from and see how they've affected our
- 3:41lives all the way to today. And you can see that pattern
- 3:47once you once you see them first and experience them back when
- 3:53they happen. And then you can know and be
- 3:57aware of what they are. And then that's the.
- 3:59That's the starting point of re routing them in truth.
- 4:04Wow. So that's going to be something
- 4:06that we are going to get to do at the end.
- 4:09So that's exciting and I cannot wait to experience that.
- 4:14And when I experience it, everyone that listens into the
- 4:17show is going to experience it too.
- 4:20So obviously you, you are right because they say that, you know,
- 4:25all our beliefs are set up between the ages of zero and
- 4:29seven and they can be good, bad, happy and sad.
- 4:33However, as you have very wisely pointed out, it's where we come
- 4:38stuck, really. And when things are not working,
- 4:43and it's even getting to that point because some people don't
- 4:47even realize that. Hang on a minute, it's just a
- 4:51belief. Yep, this is not true.
- 4:53Yep, this is. This is not truth, you know,
- 4:58because it's just something that I am telling myself.
- 5:02And they often say that fear means false evidence appearing
- 5:07real. So you know what happened for
- 5:11you. Tell us a little bit about your
- 5:12story. You, you talked about going from
- 5:16career path to career path and how you would start out very
- 5:23excited and it was almost like you had shining object syndrome.
- 5:29You would kind of find that energy falling flat and then you
- 5:35move on. And I think this is a big trap
- 5:37that a lot of people fall in. They go for the next shiny
- 5:41object syndrome and then they kind of find that that wears out
- 5:46and then they move to the next. What did you actually discover?
- 5:51What was it that you actually discovered was the reason for
- 5:56that? Because a lot of people do it.
- 5:59And you know what was the reason?
- 6:03I'm sorry, I'm laughing. It's just, that's just exactly
- 6:06what I did. I was always, I guess I was
- 6:11always looking for something to help me be successful.
- 6:17You know, I wanted to be successful and shiny objects,
- 6:21you know, I like to shop. And so it's like, oh, I like
- 6:24this. Oh gosh, I got to have this.
- 6:26I don't want, I got to do it right now because I might miss
- 6:29out on it later. I was always fearful of missing
- 6:31out too. So I would see some opportunity.
- 6:38And of course, people are usually recruiting you, trying
- 6:42to get you to join them. And you know, you're going to do
- 6:46you're going to be able to do this.
- 6:47It only cost this. These products are great.
- 6:50You can win this trip. The company's the best there is,
- 6:53you know, and so it was so exciting at the beginning, like
- 6:57how can you not do this? And and then, you know, you're
- 7:03excited and you get take off and you're doing pretty good and
- 7:06they're cheering you on and helping you.
- 7:09And then it gets less and less and it starts to fizzle and
- 7:12fizzle out that initial excitement.
- 7:17And I've come to realize that it fizzles because it's not my
- 7:24fire, my true passion. That's lighten me up.
- 7:29I'm using other people's, I'm borrowing theirs, I'm feeding
- 7:34off of theirs. And once you realize it's not in
- 7:39alignment with what my purpose is, even if we don't know what
- 7:45it is at the time, that's what's happening and it it fizzle.
- 7:49You can't sustain that excitement and that passion
- 7:53because it's not yours. So you can't sustain it for
- 7:56somebody else. And I've realized now, I didn't
- 8:00then I didn't know what was going on and I had other
- 8:04reasons, you know, all these other reasons that my
- 8:07inadequacies and all that, my shortcomings, but, and possibly
- 8:12part of it could have been some of those things, but the
- 8:14majority, the main reason is because it wasn't my purpose.
- 8:20It wasn't fueling my flame, my spark that I had at the
- 8:25beginning and it got a little bigger, you know, but then it
- 8:28fizzles back down and I didn't have that internal passion to
- 8:34keep that going. And it's a totally different
- 8:39whenever it's rooted in your purpose, your purpose.
- 8:44We all have 1. And I was mistakenly borrowing
- 8:48other people's over the years and trying to just use theirs to
- 8:52get ahead and to be successful. And it lies within us.
- 8:57That's huge. I mean, that is absolutely huge.
- 9:00I am sure there's going to be some great big, massive pennies
- 9:04dropping right now because sometimes people don't even
- 9:09realize. Why is it that I keep doing
- 9:12that? I, I, I'll go to one thing and
- 9:14then I'll go to the other. And I'm always excited when I
- 9:16start and then next thing you know, it fizzles out and I go to
- 9:21the next. And really what you have
- 9:24discovered in it's, it's about purpose.
- 9:27Yes, and and it's so funny because at times you know the
- 9:31people around you, you know, my my children, you know, and
- 9:35friends and family. It it got to the point where I
- 9:41would see the next one and I said, Oh, I'm doing this.
- 9:43And then it would be something would be said like, oh goodness,
- 9:48what is she doing now? What are you doing now, mom?
- 9:51What's, what's it this time? And so whenever and then when
- 9:55you hear that, that is also just knocking against your confidence
- 10:01too. There's they don't believe in
- 10:03you. They don't think you're going to
- 10:05do it because you never have. So it's feeding the those
- 10:10negative thoughts you already had and it's adding to them.
- 10:13So you really go into it a little less empowered to do it,
- 10:20a little less belief on your own part.
- 10:22Even though you say this is the one, there's always that.
- 10:26And then you've got the fear of going out there like, OK, they
- 10:29heard me talk about this two years ago.
- 10:31Now I'm going to go out there and talk about this.
- 10:34They're going to not believe me. They're not going to trust me
- 10:37because that she pops from this to that.
- 10:40There it is just a whole mass of of just the hints that you take
- 10:47and internal ways. Yes, and this is what I took
- 10:51from you that I was able to learn from you backstage.
- 10:56And firstly that is that for people.
- 11:00I mean, I have never been an employable person anyway, so I
- 11:05wasn't easily roped into, you know, network marketing or, you
- 11:10know, different things. But I was always a very, very
- 11:13good sales person. But, you know, there is
- 11:17something to be said about living somebody else's mission
- 11:22and living your own. And that is exactly what your
- 11:27point here is. And So what I have literally
- 11:31learned from you is #1 identify what it is that is your mission,
- 11:40what lights you up and notice, you know, what it is usually
- 11:45that you could do for hours and what aligns with your values
- 11:51and, and pay attention to your natural gifts as well.
- 11:56So as as you knew kind of progressed, what I learned from
- 12:01you is that your gift has come out through your adversity.
- 12:08So your, you know, this is my favorite saying at the moment.
- 12:12Your adversity became your university, literally.
- 12:17Oh, I love it. Yes, it did.
- 12:20It did totally. Yeah.
- 12:23And I wasn't even planning on that.
- 12:24You know, it's so funny how it works because, you know, I
- 12:28figured these things out and I know I stumbled upon it, and
- 12:31then I'm like this, this is profound.
- 12:38People need to know how to do this because it's life changing,
- 12:43you know, and so it, I think, you know, now that I can see how
- 12:47people develop their own methods and frameworks of business and
- 12:51all, but I never dreamed I would have my own even, you know, I
- 12:56just knew I wanted my own business, but to have my own
- 12:59method and signature method, you know, I'm like, so it's just
- 13:03like I'm going, you know, it's just keeps stacking and it's
- 13:07exciting, but I, you don't realize it until you are aware.
- 13:14You've got to be able to find out why.
- 13:18Why are you getting held back? Yeah.
- 13:20And I'm, I'm going to really bring out, you know, some of the
- 13:25gold that you have discussed with me because obviously we
- 13:30want to give our listeners, you know, the greatest value.
- 13:33That's always my promise that we will give very, very good value.
- 13:37So firstly, Kelly, you, the number one thing that you're
- 13:43very passionate about is obviously apart from knowing
- 13:47thyself and getting to know who you are, is to identify your
- 13:53limiting beliefs and thoughts of fears and what's keeping you
- 13:58stuck. What is one of the best ways for
- 14:04a person to come to know what their limiting beliefs are?
- 14:11I I've always heard of limiting beliefs.
- 14:15You know, you hear about them, they say we've all got them.
- 14:18They started back around, you know, 7 or younger.
- 14:21And I'm thinking, OK, I've got limiting beliefs.
- 14:25OK, we all do. I don't have much confidence,
- 14:28you know, Why am I insecure? We hear about it, but it's very
- 14:33surface level. And I stumbled upon a way to
- 14:44really identify them, I mean, and feel them over again.
- 14:50You can actually feel your emotions from third grade, you
- 14:57know, and so we need to go back to then we need to go back to
- 15:03when were they were really showing up in a childhood for us
- 15:09to experience it. And then we can compare and see
- 15:14how they're same exact things happening now.
- 15:19And then it's almost like, wow, here we go.
- 15:22This is, you know, so that's how we have to really focus and dig
- 15:30deep and visualize and put us there to what they were actually
- 15:36coming about. Yeah, I mean, what happened?
- 15:39You talked about the way you were thinking about yourself,
- 15:45and it wasn't, it wasn't that fancy, you know.
- 15:50You know, you thought you weren't good enough.
- 15:53You want to go through some of those, you know, thought
- 15:57processes you were actually telling yourself before we teach
- 16:02everyone how to turn them around?
- 16:04Yeah. Yeah, I was back in school and I
- 16:11was always a bigger girl. I was never the cute little
- 16:14petite things that made cheerleader.
- 16:16Even though I wanted to be 1 so bad, you know, I wanted to be
- 16:22cute. I never thought I was pretty.
- 16:24I had buck teeth and you know, so I never felt pretty.
- 16:29And then I always compared myself with the little cute
- 16:32petite ones. I wanted to be the teacher pet.
- 16:36I wanted to be needed. I wanted her.
- 16:39You know, I would be inside grading papers for the teacher
- 16:42versus being outside and playing.
- 16:44Because outside on the playground, if we were picking
- 16:48teams for kickball or whatever, I was always last.
- 16:52I wasn't athletic. I was always last.
- 16:55I was always last in all of the physical fitness things, you
- 16:59know, that we had to do. I'm, as you know, the big long
- 17:03mile run. I was last, you know, I just
- 17:07couldn't succeed at anything. I felt like I never could be the
- 17:10winner of anything. I tried out for cheerleader
- 17:13twice. Didn't make it either time.
- 17:15Crushed my soul. And then I would, you know, show
- 17:20it in ways like talking about the one girl that did make it.
- 17:26There's no way that she's better than me.
- 17:29She's pigeon toed even. Look at her.
- 17:31You know, I would find ways, you know, I would have a crush on a
- 17:35little boy, you know, and he would talk to me and I would
- 17:38feel like I would just blooming flower.
- 17:43But then he might say, would you go over there and ask so and so
- 17:50a cute little girl if she likes me and sure, you know, I would
- 17:57say, OK. And even though it just crushed
- 18:01me, you know, I would go do it for him because I wanted them to
- 18:06be happy. I wanted to please them.
- 18:08I wanted, you know, not I don't want anybody to feel any type of
- 18:13conflict or whatever. I wanted to please everybody,
- 18:17but I wanted to be included. I mean, it was just like I was
- 18:23dying to be included and the validation that I made it from
- 18:27everybody else. But you do understand and I and
- 18:31I feel that this is really the turning point in your career is
- 18:38that you understand so very, very well that everybody is
- 18:43worthy. However, it's also coming back
- 18:46to that. Great challenge, that adversity
- 18:51and how you felt that has brought you to being this
- 18:56incredible mentor, this incredible coach, and, you know,
- 19:02a person who has a mission and a vision to grow people and really
- 19:09help them to show up. Because, you know, one of the
- 19:13things you also mentioned backstage is so many people are
- 19:17afraid to show. Show up.
- 19:19Yeah. So many people are afraid to use
- 19:22their voice. And, you know, and then you talk
- 19:26about authenticity. And it's great that you have
- 19:33been able to really create that power through your genius zone
- 19:37because that's what this show's about.
- 19:39Yeah. It's about that pain.
- 19:42Turning to power. Anthony Watkins, he became this
- 19:48great iconic transformation person because he had such a
- 19:54depraved life, because, you know, sometimes he wouldn't even
- 19:58be able to celebrate Christmas. Oprah Winfrey, she had her major
- 20:05adversities as well. And you know, because you know
- 20:10what it's like to be in that position.
- 20:13You came to learn, but it's quite incredible how you had
- 20:16that moment when just suddenly you were able to go back into
- 20:22your mind's eye and go on a journey and see that little
- 20:27girl. Yeah.
- 20:29What happened when you saw that little girl?
- 20:31What did you discover? First of all, I felt very sad
- 20:38for her. My heart broke for her at her
- 20:41desperation of wanting to belong.
- 20:45I just wanted to belong and be wanted.
- 20:49And I can still feel that desperation that she had.
- 20:56It's, it just kind of, it's sad because I think I've used that
- 21:03as a shell of a confidence that I have portrayed because I've
- 21:10always looked confident on the outside and I've not been too
- 21:16shy about doing things. But to reveal myself to be
- 21:21vulnerable and to say that because we think if we're
- 21:27vulnerable, we're weak. And it's the total opposite.
- 21:31I mean, it is the total opposite and being vulnerable is a
- 21:37strength. I mean, it's a stream.
- 21:43And I also realize that I've got a story that could connect with
- 21:51so many women, especially that I guarantee you there's so many
- 21:58women listening right now that experienced what I experienced.
- 22:04I just know it. And it's not something that we
- 22:09find out some things that we don't really like.
- 22:11It makes this a little sad, you know?
- 22:14And it gave me a it, it just stuck a little spear at my
- 22:25backside to say, this is your mission, this is your story,
- 22:32this is your impact because you can help other women get past it
- 22:40as well. This is it.
- 22:43And so it just gives me a reason to get up in the morning.
- 22:46You know, I get up excited now. And it's, it's life changing.
- 22:52It really is. And so many of us, I mean, I'm
- 22:5556. I was 56 before I discovered
- 22:59truly what's been holding me back.
- 23:03Wow. So it just goes to show that,
- 23:07you know it is never too late. You look amazing for your age,
- 23:11by the way. How important, how important is
- 23:15it to embrace your story? Because obviously when you're
- 23:19talking to other people who are really wanting to make an impact
- 23:23on the world and you're helping them to move forward, I would
- 23:28say from what you are saying that being vulnerable, being
- 23:34such a superpower in their business and what they're doing
- 23:39and with their success, that obviously means that they need
- 23:44to accept their story. Do you feel that accepting and
- 23:48facing the truth and releasing the shame and and and actually
- 23:56dealing with it head on actually freeze them so that they can
- 24:01actually be free to move forward?
- 24:04I do. I think that some of us may take
- 24:09a little longer though, depending on what you uncover.
- 24:14You know, because some things are more painful than you might
- 24:18think and it might take you just a little bit to accept it
- 24:26because sometimes it's not that easy to accept.
- 24:31Like I had to accept my desperation.
- 24:34You know, I was a good girl. I made good.
- 24:37I was out, you know, I took up a little bit of space.
- 24:40I didn't want to cause problems. I was the good girl and and made
- 24:45the good grades and did what my parents wanted.
- 24:47I wanted to, you know, make everybody happy, but I've never
- 24:52thought about myself really. I did what it was kind of
- 24:57supposed to do. You know, I did what I was
- 25:00supposed to do. And I think that once that we
- 25:03can realize it's our story and it's a story that we should, I
- 25:12don't want to say glamorize or anything, but to, to take hold
- 25:17of it, own it. Embrace it.
- 25:20Yeah, embrace it. Embrace it.
- 25:22And. Use it to help others.
- 25:26I mean, I think that, yeah, our adversity could be the medicine
- 25:29that other people need, and our struggles and our overcoming can
- 25:36be what they need to hear. I mean, what you say to somebody
- 25:42could be the turning point in their life and that that's a
- 25:47responsibility. I feel like it's my obligation,
- 25:50you know, to make a difference that is.
- 25:53So I look at it as which I love that obligation, but I do, I
- 25:58look at it as I'm responsible for everybody I come in contact
- 26:02with and I'm going to use whatever it takes.
- 26:05And if it needs to be my vulnerability and my struggles
- 26:09and my shortcomings and my insecurities and my failings and
- 26:13all, I'm going to use it because it's in my arsenal.
- 26:17I can use it. Yes, yes.
- 26:19So obviously, really understanding your limiting
- 26:25beliefs and understanding also that you can recognize the root
- 26:32cause. So like Kelly has just said, by
- 26:35actually understanding that a lot of these limiting beliefs
- 26:39are coming from, you know, a story that you heard that you
- 26:44told yourself a long time ago. But then once you recognize the
- 26:48root cause of it, then you move on to the next part.
- 26:53And that part is, as Kelly said, it's not about glamorizing it,
- 26:57but it's about accepting, embracing it.
- 27:01And there's something very, very powerful in being able to do
- 27:06that. Now, last but not least.
- 27:09And this is where the whole foundation of your, you know,
- 27:14your wonderful program comes from, you know, rewriting the
- 27:18script. Now, because I'm a trainer of
- 27:22NLP, in the world of NLP, where I'm teaching people acquisition
- 27:28and it's very powerful and it's built all around these elements.
- 27:32We talk about recoding, rewriting, and you talk about
- 27:37rerouting. And in my mind, I'm kind of
- 27:42gathering this vision, and I would ask you to please correct
- 27:47me, but this is how I see it. I'm imagining my client going
- 27:52right back to when they were a child and when they were in that
- 27:58place in space where they were devastated that they, you know,
- 28:02lost out on something. They, you know, were bullied or
- 28:06they were made to feel insecure or unloved from a parent and
- 28:12whatever that is, going back and obviously identifying it,
- 28:17recognizing it and then re actually going down and up,
- 28:25rooting it and lifting it from the very root.
- 28:29And what happens when you pull something from the roots?
- 28:34It's kind of releasing all the other stuff, like all the leaves
- 28:40and the other parts that are around it.
- 28:43But that's how I'm seeing it. And then we talk about re, you
- 28:49know, rewriting it. So then what are we going to put
- 28:53in in its place? So let's talk about what you did
- 29:00and how you journaled and perhaps you can just cover what
- 29:06I just said about uprooting and you call it rerouting and
- 29:11perhaps define the difference. Yeah, well, we have to uproot it
- 29:17before we can reroute it. So that's the first step is
- 29:22uprooting it, digging it, outgoing deep, digging all the
- 29:26way down to the tips of those roots and finding out where it
- 29:29came from, where it started. And right now, those roots are
- 29:34rooted in a foundation of beliefs, not necessarily truths.
- 29:42So it might be based on something that was said.
- 29:48Maybe it was based on never seeing your parent, you know,
- 29:56maybe they worked all the time. Maybe it was a lot of yelling in
- 30:00the house and you felt like they're always arguing.
- 30:04I think it's me, you know, they would rather argue than talk to
- 30:08me. You know, There's so many
- 30:10things. I was always made fun of a lot
- 30:15on the because I was always, like I said, a bigger girl.
- 30:19I was like, I wasn't obese, but I was taller and chunkier.
- 30:23You know, I was just, I was not, you know, I was overweight.
- 30:27But, and I think when I experienced the the making fun
- 30:33of it was the bullying. Today, bullying is at a whole
- 30:36nother level. But nevertheless, it felt the
- 30:39same to me back then because that was all I had to measure it
- 30:44against. That was bullying.
- 30:46So we have to uproot that because it's all based and it's
- 30:50the, what it's planted in, what it's sitting in is just your
- 30:57environment. It's the, you know, your
- 30:59culture, your environment and the beliefs that have come from
- 31:03being around that environment. That's the foundation you're in
- 31:06and it has to come out of there. We've got to uproot that and
- 31:09dig, like I said, dig deep. Once we once we uproot that, we
- 31:15can now focus on truth. We're going to look at who you
- 31:20are, what you have, and then we're going to plan it and
- 31:24reroute it back in truth because belief and truth are different.
- 31:30They can be the same, but they not necessarily.
- 31:35So we want to just make sure that what we're going to reroute
- 31:38it in truth and those will be our new beliefs based on truth.
- 31:43Because a lot of times that our worth, worthiness is based out
- 31:48of something that's not true, just not true.
- 31:54You know, I don't have any skills.
- 31:56That's not true. I'm not qualified.
- 32:00That's not true. And I'm going to prove to you
- 32:04that that is not true. And not qualified in what right
- 32:09this is happening. People generalize, they, they
- 32:13put a blanket over themselves. But like you, you're pointing
- 32:19out when you're really getting to the to the crux of it.
- 32:24And they're having that realization, Hang on a minute.
- 32:28You know, what am I saying to myself here?
- 32:31And it's come to me that our listeners are going to be, you
- 32:38know, in that space and place where they're fearing showing
- 32:43up. That's what I'm getting as a
- 32:45download. And maybe this is going to serve
- 32:51some people out there that are going to be listening to this.
- 32:55And whether it is when it drops or whether it's six months time
- 33:01from now or even 6 years time from now, I'm really
- 33:07understanding that your audience is that person out there that
- 33:14wants to show up, but they've got a lot of fear around it.
- 33:18They're procrastinating and also they're shrinking themselves and
- 33:22they're not expressing themselves because they're
- 33:27afraid to speak their truth. They see being authentic as a
- 33:34weakness rather than a strength. So if we can, if we can set the
- 33:39scene for that, and let's just say I'm representing every
- 33:46person out there that would love to experience this.
- 33:52I'm gonna ask you now, like what we have promised to our
- 33:55listeners? Let's go through this exciting
- 33:59sequence. Yes, let's do we're we don't
- 34:02need to play small anymore. All right, so I want you first
- 34:07of all to just try to clear your mind completely.
- 34:11And I want you to go back to the time and I would like for you to
- 34:16go back to a time early grade school age probably.
- 34:20And you can go back to sitting in your classroom.
- 34:24You can go back to being on the playground, sitting at your
- 34:28dining room table at home, sitting in your bedroom.
- 34:33Can I just say something? I've already had something flash
- 34:36up. That's really weird because I
- 34:37wasn't going to do that. Suddenly I was in my Grade 3
- 34:42classroom with Mrs. Ford and she used to call me a daydreamer.
- 34:48Then I had this Just flash of being this little girl walking
- 34:53out of the class and everybody taunting me, calling me
- 34:56Daydreamer. Anyway, I just thought I would
- 34:58say that I had to say that that good.
- 35:01Because that's what I want people to experience.
- 35:03Just a certain when you're sitting there and you're looking
- 35:06around that classroom and you see your teacher and you see
- 35:09your classmates and something like that pops up.
- 35:14A memory. It's a memory that pops up and
- 35:19somebody says to you, you know, you're a daydreamer.
- 35:24Well. What does that mean?
- 35:26That you don't concentrate, You can't focus?
- 35:29You're not participating, You aren't doing what you're
- 35:34supposed to be doing. You're not a good student.
- 35:38You're Kevin Martin Luther King was a dreamer.
- 35:41You know, some of the biggest. But we don't know that the.
- 35:45Leaders in the world were dreamers.
- 35:48And so, and then people like rude kids, you know, kids can be
- 35:52brutal, just take off on it and add to the flow.
- 35:57And but that's exactly what I want people to experience, to go
- 36:00back and to pick up something. Because when I did it, if I went
- 36:04out on the playground, then I would have another memory.
- 36:08Something else would come up. Like I said, I would be picked
- 36:12last or somebody would want to just really, you know, Bing me
- 36:17when you're playing keep away or something, you know, whatever
- 36:20that one dodgeball thing. There were so many things and so
- 36:25that particular that one particular instance, though,
- 36:29made an impact on your life. That one thing that's just one
- 36:34of thousands and that could be interpreted in so many ways, but
- 36:42it but once it happens, then the next time another instance of
- 36:50similarity happens, it just it'll reinforce that and it'll
- 36:54reinforce that that you're a daydreamer.
- 36:57You are. Compound effect isn't.
- 37:00It and then it gets to where you're like, you're a dreamer,
- 37:04like what you are thinking about is not attainable.
- 37:09What you are dreaming about. Keep on dreaming, honey.
- 37:14Just like when people want to, you know, go to be a movie star,
- 37:18you know, all these things. I want to be a pro basketball
- 37:21player. It'll never happen.
- 37:22We are totally knocked down because our dreams are not
- 37:28reality. And it it affects us, We want to
- 37:35make sure now, a lot of the times a lot of things come from
- 37:39our parents and our grandparents and our siblings and our
- 37:42teachers and everywhere. And a lot of times, I'm not
- 37:46saying this is true for everything, but a lot of times
- 37:49these are not I'll intended at the time.
- 37:55A lot of times a teacher may be saying that thinking that she's
- 38:00helping you to set. In.
- 38:02Reality, she may have done it out of what she knew, what her
- 38:09limiting beliefs were through her lens of life, and she was
- 38:14doing it out of the goodness of her her heart to help you not do
- 38:20that because you're going to be disappointed, you know, and a
- 38:24lot of times our parents do the same thing to protect us.
- 38:28Because everybody comes from and this is an NLP presupposition,
- 38:33the highest intention and. You know they.
- 38:38Do the best with the resources they have at the time.
- 38:42So as I am seeing that little girl, what do I?
- 38:46What's the next step? I want you to think about how it
- 38:53made you feel then and what do you think it did in a in your
- 38:59adult life? Like, can you see that thought
- 39:04that, you know, I'm a daydreamer, My dreams are too
- 39:07big. I don't do what you know, I'm
- 39:12not doing what I'm supposed to be doing.
- 39:15I waste time. I know, I know, I know how it.
- 39:20It was really an energetic feeling that came from that seed
- 39:26of limiting belief, thought, and the energy behind it was
- 39:31definitely intimidation. I felt intimidated.
- 39:37So I feel that yes, I can see how that little girl did emerge.
- 39:45You know, obviously before I did a lot of inner work and, and she
- 39:50still pops up from time to time to show a little face and you
- 39:56know, but I can see that and that's like little Terry.
- 40:02So then what? What do I do with that then?
- 40:07It's so funny, I love the word intimidation because I'm easily
- 40:10intimidated too just because of other, you know, same things.
- 40:16But once you've, you realize that, that if you still see it
- 40:21popping up because you, you saw it before you did your, you
- 40:24know, work on yourself, you know, you can see it that you
- 40:27were easily intimidated by certain things.
- 40:29People could intimidate you. You know, I'm easily intimidate.
- 40:34Some people aren't. I'm easily intimidated.
- 40:36So maybe you were easily intimidated until you started
- 40:39realizing, you know, and worked on yourself to better yourself.
- 40:43But if it comes back up, you know, and she pops her head ugly
- 40:47head back up, making you feel intimidated for wanting
- 40:51something, first of all, just catch that thought, catch it
- 40:55really fast. Be that's why you have to be
- 40:59aware 1st that it's there, that it came from there.
- 41:04And now you think, oh, I'm getting intimidated.
- 41:06Somebody I know we got to catch it, catch that thought very
- 41:13fast. So you got to be quick handed
- 41:16and then just drop it, catch the thought, drop that thought and
- 41:23re root it. In truth, I'm not intimidated.
- 41:27This does not intimidate me. I'm not easily intimidated.
- 41:33And then you're going to. Look and then look at the proof
- 41:36in your life where you haven't been intimidated.
- 41:39You. Know go back and find actual
- 41:42proof where Look what I did here and look what I did here.
- 41:47People didn't believe me either and look what I did here.
- 41:50That's the truth, that where you want to reroute that.
- 41:56I love that and the truth. You're catching it.
- 41:59You catch it first. Drop it and then.
- 42:02You you identify it and then you drop it and then you reroute it.
- 42:10In truth, because there's lots of places.
- 42:12Yes, in truth. Because.
- 42:18We all have evidence of the of the opposite of what we're
- 42:21throwing away. There's so much evidence to show
- 42:24you, even if it's something that is like I'm not equipped or I'm
- 42:29not qualified. Look what you did right here in
- 42:32this span of whatever years of raising your children.
- 42:35You are very, very equipped to handle this.
- 42:41There is. Yes.
- 42:44We have a lot of evidence in our lives we don't realize and I'll
- 42:47I can point that out and show you once I know your story.
- 42:51This right here is where the truth is it is not in this.
- 42:55Ditch it. I love it.
- 42:57So just to bring conscious competency to our listeners, you
- 43:03are obviously looking at whatever it is that's going on
- 43:06your world at the moment. And it may be in that sense of I
- 43:10don't want to show up or I'm not good enough.
- 43:12You've got to be able to trace it back.
- 43:15It's like detective work. Yep.
- 43:17Then allow yourself like I saw my inner child.
- 43:22Yes, grab it. Yeah.
- 43:24And then drop. It drop it.
- 43:27And then reroute it. Now this is the part I like
- 43:30next, 'cause I'm, I'm just gonna open this part up.
- 43:34And that is that we reroute it by understanding that that's no
- 43:40longer true for me. Now.
- 43:41That's in the past. So today I'm actually empowered.
- 43:46I'm not that little girl anymore.
- 43:48And then anchor. So go back and ask yourself all
- 43:54the times that you have done a really great job and this is
- 43:58what I love. And I'm just bringing the
- 44:00conscious competency around what you just said.
- 44:03So bring up perhaps three memories or more, I always say
- 44:08around your confidence, around your courage, around your
- 44:13empowerment, and anchor them in. And then what's the next step?
- 44:20Then go tell somebody else get. Invited.
- 44:26Go tell and share because the more you do, the more that
- 44:31you're going to get revealed. Revelations every day, every
- 44:36time I do a podcast, more things are revealed to me.
- 44:39The more I talk about it, the more it empowers me because I
- 44:44can see it more clear every day. So whenever you are re routing
- 44:52that in your truth, because there's evidence in your life,
- 44:55so much evidence to plan it in some truth, it will change you.
- 45:00First of all, it will empower you and it will light something
- 45:06up in you. That's where we're going to draw
- 45:10your purpose from. That's where that magic is going
- 45:15to happen. Now.
- 45:17That's whenever we need to decide what is your purpose?
- 45:20We've got to figure it out. We're going to make it work and
- 45:22we're going to impact your world with it and be successful and
- 45:28you could have a business that is life changing for others.
- 45:32Whatever it is, whatever it is, that's the way it's going to
- 45:38come about. That's where you're going to
- 45:40find your sweet spot right there.
- 45:44Now, did you hear that what Kelly has just said?
- 45:49Well, do you know that you can make this your reality?
- 45:53You can go to our show nights and you can find Kelly so that
- 45:58you can go through this, but she's going to give you that
- 46:01bespoke ability to really tap into your empowered self.
- 46:08You'll be able to unleash your authentic version, understand
- 46:13that your story is your glory, and create your success through
- 46:20being able to acknowledge and own your life.
- 46:27Kelly, I just wanna thank you so, so much.
- 46:30But I do have one last question. And it just would not be.
- 46:34And time has just gone so far. We're already after 45 minutes,
- 46:39but I, you know, I, it just would not be right if I didn't
- 46:43ask you this question when we get off the call.
- 46:45If we got off the call and you left this out.
- 46:48Now, maybe it's something you've already said and you would like
- 46:51to reinforce it or it's something that you would love to
- 46:56say to this person out there that is in this position.
- 47:01You know, what would you say? Last words?
- 47:03What would you tell them? I would first tell you, you have
- 47:09value. Every person listening to this
- 47:13has value. You have a story that matters.
- 47:17Whether you think it does or not, it does.
- 47:22And you have a story that others need to hear.
- 47:25And I think that you do too, because you might not realize
- 47:30what your real story is. And I think that that is part of
- 47:34the beauty of doing this whole process is learning and
- 47:39understanding your story, realizing it's powerful and that
- 47:46you have value. Every person listening has
- 47:50something somebody else needs. And that's, that's our mission
- 47:55is to to go find those people and change your world, make your
- 48:01mark. Kelly Parker, thank you so much
- 48:05for coming on this show and teaching us how to really turn
- 48:10your story into your glory. Thank you so much, it's been
- 48:13wonderful.
