- 0:04Speaker 1: NFL Power Rankings is a production of the NFL in
- 0:07Speaker 1: partnership with iHeartRadio.
- 0:13Speaker 2: All right, let the real games begin.
- 0:15Speaker 3: We are after Thanksgiving, we are heading into week thirteen.
- 0:20Speaker 2: Here, welcome to another edition.
- 0:21Speaker 3: I hope you had a great holiday of NFL Power Rankings,
- 0:25Speaker 3: presented by Energizer from our studio here in Los Angeles.
- 0:29Speaker 3: My name is Andrew Siciliano. On the other side of
- 0:31Speaker 3: the screen, the man who does the rankings. Rankings you
- 0:33Speaker 3: can see right now by scanning the QR code on
- 0:36Speaker 3: said screen. Between us in the land of Victors today,
- 0:41Speaker 3: one day after the Bears vanquished the Minnesota Vikings. Eric
- 0:47Speaker 3: at home, How is the parade this morning?
- 0:51Speaker 2: Pretty amazing?
- 0:52Speaker 4: Bears fans still debating about justin fields, but happy to
- 0:55Speaker 4: get a victory.
- 0:56Speaker 2: Hey, look, I can't. I'm happy for that.
- 0:58Speaker 3: Evraflus finally getting a division victory, an NFC North victory
- 1:03Speaker 3: in his second season there in Chicago. They want questions
- 1:08Speaker 3: and answers. There were no answers last night for the Bears.
- 1:11Speaker 3: I digress. The Bears are not on our first board
- 1:14Speaker 3: that we're putting.
- 1:15Speaker 2: On the screen.
- 1:15Speaker 3: And there are your new Power Rankings with the Philadelphia
- 1:18Speaker 3: Eagles still at number one, the Ravens at number two,
- 1:23Speaker 3: followed by the forty nine Ers, the Chiefs, that Dallas
- 1:25Speaker 3: Cowboys into the top five, and number five the Dolphins
- 1:30Speaker 3: don't go anywhere. After a whole hum victory over Tim
- 1:33Speaker 3: Boyle and the Jets on Black Friday, the Jaguars go up,
- 1:37Speaker 3: the Lions plummet. We'll get to them at a second.
- 1:41Speaker 3: The Lions go from three down to eight. But there
- 1:44Speaker 3: really is no surprise who is number one, Eric, because
- 1:49Speaker 3: there is clearly one team that is better than the other,
- 1:53Speaker 3: and that is the Philadelphia Eagles, who, again against a
- 1:57Speaker 3: quality opponent, rallied from down double digits to win.
- 2:03Speaker 4: Yeah, most teams panic in that situation, Andrew. I mean,
- 2:06Speaker 4: the Eagles have them right where they want them, it seems.
- 2:08Speaker 4: But I would love to have a debate about this
- 2:10Speaker 4: Eagles team if they were seven and three, you know,
- 2:12Speaker 4: we could kind of stack their credentials against some of
- 2:15Speaker 4: the other top teams something like that. That might be
- 2:17Speaker 4: a different discussion. But they always win. Right the Jets game, notwithstanding,
- 2:21Speaker 4: they have found a way, a formula whatever you want
- 2:23Speaker 4: to call it, to be out gained to be trailing
- 2:26Speaker 4: it a halftime, trailing in the fourth quarter doesn't matter.
- 2:29Speaker 4: They find a way. Jalen Hurts the big reason why.
- 2:32Speaker 4: If aj Brown isn't there, DeVante Smith steps up. Swift
- 2:36Speaker 4: has been an outstanding pickup for them too, for you know,
- 2:39Speaker 4: quarters on the dollar, they got them pretty cheap. So
- 2:42Speaker 4: it goes back to the team building aspect. Building on
- 2:45Speaker 4: what they did last year, they might be a better
- 2:47Speaker 4: team in terms of finishing off games this year. They've
- 2:50Speaker 4: been that good at it.
- 2:52Speaker 3: Yeah, quarters are the dollar more like changed than they
- 2:55Speaker 3: found underneath the couch. I mean they gave way like
- 2:59Speaker 3: a mid round pick in twenty five, I mean something
- 3:02Speaker 3: way down the road.
- 3:03Speaker 2: They gave up nothing for DeAndre Swift.
- 3:05Speaker 3: There's great video during that game as well, and let's
- 3:08Speaker 3: give credit to Jake Elliott for the fifty nine yard
- 3:10Speaker 3: field goal to send it overtime where Brandon Graham is
- 3:13Speaker 3: heard yelling at Dion Dawkins and the Bills O line. Hey, guys,
- 3:18Speaker 3: we have Jalen Hurts. You're going to lose. We have
- 3:22Speaker 3: this guy named Jalen Hurts and we're going to win.
- 3:26Speaker 2: And it almost feels that way.
- 3:27Speaker 1: Eric.
- 3:28Speaker 2: I mean, I don't know that his numbers are.
- 3:29Speaker 3: As gaudy as Dak Prescott and his three hundred yard
- 3:33Speaker 3: streak that we've seen of late, but they have Jalen
- 3:36Speaker 3: Hurts and you just feel like, yeah, oh yeah, they're good,
- 3:38Speaker 3: They're fine.
- 3:40Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 3:40Speaker 4: I mean the rushing touchdowns obviously the last couple of weeks,
- 3:43Speaker 4: you know, more than he has passing. I mean there
- 3:46Speaker 4: are times when he's when he's taken sacks. His passing
- 3:48Speaker 4: numbers aren't all that amazing. Brown's been a little bit
- 3:51Speaker 4: off the last two games, so you know, teams are
- 3:54Speaker 4: controlling them in some aspects, but when the chips are down,
- 3:57Speaker 4: when they absolutely have it, have to have it rather.
- 4:00Speaker 4: You know that that touchdown passes a key as buying time,
- 4:02Speaker 4: buying time floating to his left, just drifting it in.
- 4:06Speaker 4: Those are the kind of plays you just really almost
- 4:08Speaker 4: can't stop at this point.
- 4:09Speaker 3: Despite the fact that Josh Allen showed some of that magic.
- 4:11Speaker 3: He's caught on Mike NFL films as well, yelling I'm
- 4:14Speaker 3: bleeping back on the sideline like he felt good, it
- 4:16Speaker 3: felt right until it didn't. He misses Gabe Davis, and
- 4:20Speaker 3: you know the rest from there. Number two of the
- 4:22Speaker 3: Ravens a whole home win on Sunday night. They hang
- 4:24Speaker 3: on and they get Justin Herbert and the Chargers off
- 4:27Speaker 3: the field at the end is seemingly everyone has been
- 4:28Speaker 3: able to do. And then sitting there at number three,
- 4:31Speaker 3: the forty nine Ers, and here we have it, once again,
- 4:34Speaker 3: the game of the year in Philadelphia, once again, the
- 4:38Speaker 3: game of the year, of the week, your rematch of
- 4:42Speaker 3: the NFC Championship game.
- 4:44Speaker 2: Eric, Where do we go?
- 4:45Speaker 3: I mean, there's fifty storylines here between the Niners and Vases, all.
- 4:49Speaker 4: Right, I mean, I guess obviously the rematch angle is
- 4:52Speaker 4: gonna be played up. But my question is can the
- 4:54Speaker 4: Eagles withstand another emotional setting, another high caliber opponent. I mean,
- 4:58Speaker 4: obviously the six day span where they beat the Chiefs,
- 5:02Speaker 4: they beat the Bills before that, prior to the buy,
- 5:05Speaker 4: they beat the Cowboys. I mean, it's just like one
- 5:07Speaker 4: hammer blow after the next. They've withstood them. You know,
- 5:10Speaker 4: they've taken all comers at this point. But another really
- 5:14Speaker 4: tough team now, obviously, you know you can make of
- 5:16Speaker 4: the debate. Forty nine Ers might be the more complete team.
- 5:19Speaker 4: They did have the three game losing streak. We'll see
- 5:21Speaker 4: how it all stecks up. This will settle a lot
- 5:23Speaker 4: of debates for us. I think at this point, and
- 5:25Speaker 4: if the Eagles can pull this off, Andrew, you know
- 5:27Speaker 4: who's stopping him at this point.
- 5:30Speaker 3: I don't think anybody is. There's a scenario, by the way,
- 5:33Speaker 3: that if the Bills had beaten the Eagles, let's say
- 5:35Speaker 3: they had won that game in overtime more in regulation,
- 5:37Speaker 3: than the Niners could potentially move up to number one
- 5:40Speaker 3: by beating the Eagles. That's not going to happen. I
- 5:42Speaker 3: mean number one in the NFC, not number one of
- 5:44Speaker 3: the power rankings. But Eric, will you right now on
- 5:47Speaker 3: the Tuesday, as we record this, heading into week thirteen,
- 5:49Speaker 3: commit to the Niners being number one next week if
- 5:53Speaker 3: they win Sunday.
- 5:55Speaker 4: It feels pretty likely at this point, right, I mean,
- 5:58Speaker 4: no offense to Baltimore, they're on by I mean they
- 6:00Speaker 4: might just get lapped in this situation. If that happens,
- 6:03Speaker 4: you know, it's it's the more likely than not scenario.
- 6:06Speaker 4: It takes something pretty crazy, I think in that circumstance
- 6:10Speaker 4: for it to not happen.
- 6:11Speaker 3: Yeah, that is the right answer, because if you weren't
- 6:14Speaker 3: ready to commit to that, you would probably have to
- 6:18Speaker 3: take your phone number and your address out of the
- 6:21Speaker 3: phone book. If phone books are still a thing, Let's
- 6:24Speaker 3: get to the Chiefs. Something tells me, and the Chiefs
- 6:27Speaker 3: are number four. Look, they went to Vegas and they
- 6:29Speaker 3: fell behind fourteen to nothing, and then they did the job,
- 6:32Speaker 3: but they actually scored in the second half. Why do
- 6:34Speaker 3: I think they're going to have a tough time Sunday
- 6:36Speaker 3: night at Lambeau.
- 6:38Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean, this is a Packers team that's hot.
- 6:40Speaker 4: Obviously they they've improved their offense as well, and one
- 6:44Speaker 4: game doesn't assume that the Chiefs have fixed their problems.
- 6:47Speaker 4: I love the fact that you know, they had one sack,
- 6:50Speaker 4: they didn't really turn the ball over, one drop pass.
- 6:53Speaker 4: They got a lot more out of sky Moore and
- 6:56Speaker 4: or she Rice than they have in recent games. I mean,
- 6:58Speaker 4: it's been a good turn after what we saw the
- 7:01Speaker 4: other night against the Eagles with all the drop passes.
- 7:04Speaker 4: But Green Bay team playing with confidence. I mean, obviously
- 7:08Speaker 4: you know they can win at Lambeau. They had a
- 7:09Speaker 4: huge comeback against the Saints early in the year, So yeah,
- 7:12Speaker 4: I mean it's absolutely a possibility for a KC team
- 7:15Speaker 4: that looks very good. But I don't think we can
- 7:18Speaker 4: say that all their issues have been fixed.
- 7:20Speaker 3: You know what's amazing, and we could use this for
- 7:23Speaker 3: any of the thirty two teams pretty much in the
- 7:25Speaker 3: power rankings. Is what a difference a week makes. Like
- 7:28Speaker 3: a week ago, Oh my god, the Chiefs are vulnerable.
- 7:31Speaker 3: They have nothing offensively around Patrick Mahomes. No one on
- 7:34Speaker 3: this team can catch a pass. This team isn't good
- 7:37Speaker 3: enough to Ah yeah, they're fine.
- 7:40Speaker 2: It happens.
- 7:41Speaker 4: It's the one week car wash. Every single week I
- 7:43Speaker 4: say to myself, well, I can't talk about that last week,
- 7:46Speaker 4: Well I end up having to do it again. I mean,
- 7:48Speaker 4: you never know. I mean, but you're right, one big win,
- 7:51Speaker 4: one big loss can completely change the narrative for the team,
- 7:54Speaker 4: and I think this season has spelled it out more
- 7:55Speaker 4: than any recent one I can remember.
- 7:57Speaker 3: And listen, I'm not criticizing the media. It's what we
- 7:59Speaker 3: as fans feel as well. One week you're feeling, hey,
- 8:03Speaker 3: I should start looking up to Vegas. My team may
- 8:06Speaker 3: make the super Bowl. And the next week, I mean,
- 8:09Speaker 3: you're staring at your food all week, You're barely talking
- 8:13Speaker 3: to your family and like I hate my life.
- 8:16Speaker 2: And oh hey we want to get on Sunday. Hey,
- 8:18Speaker 2: now we're going to flip back to what we were
- 8:20Speaker 2: like two weeks ago. Maybe I'm just only talking about myself.
- 8:22Speaker 2: I truly do love my family. Moving on the Dallas Cowboys.
- 8:27Speaker 3: The Dallas Cowboys are now in your top five after
- 8:30Speaker 3: and I'm going to say this with a little bit
- 8:32Speaker 3: of sarcasm, beat up on a bad commander's team and
- 8:36Speaker 3: ran up the score on a defense that traded away
- 8:41Speaker 3: it's best two players and then fire their decordinator the
- 8:44Speaker 3: next day.
- 8:45Speaker 4: Come on, hey, listen, Sometimes those coaching changes have a
- 8:49Speaker 4: positive effect on a team that didn't happen last Thursday. Okay,
- 8:52Speaker 4: fair to point out, but I think this Dallas team,
- 8:55Speaker 4: if you look at it, especially with Dak's done over
- 8:57Speaker 4: the last you know, six pack of games or so,
- 8:58Speaker 4: it might be the best stretch of his career. So, yes,
- 9:01Speaker 4: this is a one week vote, and I had them
- 9:03Speaker 4: leap frog the Miami Dolphins, who you know, I thought
- 9:06Speaker 4: played okay the following day, but the score may have
- 9:09Speaker 4: been a little bit misleading there, and I just felt
- 9:11Speaker 4: like Dallas was a more dominant performance and had a
- 9:14Speaker 4: bigger body of work in recent games. So it's a
- 9:17Speaker 4: cumulative effect, but there's also a one week effect. Too
- 9:20Speaker 4: that I thought they outplayed the Commanders more than the
- 9:24Speaker 4: Dolphins outplayed the Jets.
- 9:25Speaker 2: Yeah. No, I totally get that.
- 9:27Speaker 3: Part of me, though, it wants to ask Ron Rivera,
- 9:30Speaker 3: did you just did you just tell Jack Derio enjoyed
- 9:33Speaker 3: the last month off? Like I know, we're all getting fired.
- 9:35Speaker 3: You can go home now it's Thanksgiving? Do you really
- 9:36Speaker 3: need to like, just oh the family right somewhere? Go
- 9:40Speaker 3: spend it with some family. So the Cowboys move up too,
- 9:42Speaker 3: with EH went over an team, but they you know,
- 9:45Speaker 3: they look good and a lot of people watch. It
- 9:47Speaker 3: was Thanksgiving the Jaguars, Eric and I realized there's only
- 9:50Speaker 3: so much movement in the top ten. Here they are
- 9:53Speaker 3: our future champions, presented by FanDuel, and it looks as
- 9:56Speaker 3: if now they're in the driver's seat in the AFC South.
- 9:59Speaker 2: They're minus one thousand.
- 10:02Speaker 3: To win the division, but they go up only with
- 10:05Speaker 3: that impressive road win against a playoff team only one spot.
- 10:09Speaker 2: Eric, do you not like Trevor Lawrence's hair? Is it
- 10:12Speaker 2: something like that? Yeah?
- 10:14Speaker 4: I don't like his hair. I even told him that
- 10:16Speaker 4: in a video one time we did together. But that's okay,
- 10:18Speaker 4: you know, that's fine. There was a little bit of
- 10:20Speaker 4: a car crash. It was a little bit of a
- 10:22Speaker 4: pile up ahead of them on the highway. There was
- 10:24Speaker 4: only so many spaces they could move up. But yes,
- 10:27Speaker 4: one of the more impressive games of the season. Obviously
- 10:29Speaker 4: things got right in London outside of the San fran game.
- 10:32Speaker 4: They've been pretty darn good since then. But you know,
- 10:35Speaker 4: again a second impressive performance after getting blasted at home
- 10:39Speaker 4: by the forty nine ers. That to me says that
- 10:41Speaker 4: they're growing. They're developing some tough skin there. And Trevor Lawrence,
- 10:44Speaker 4: I didn't think he got off to the greatest start
- 10:46Speaker 4: this season, but as time has gone on, I think
- 10:48Speaker 4: he's grown with his confidence, making some plays with his legs,
- 10:52Speaker 4: you know, huge third down conversions and or penalties. Basically,
- 10:56Speaker 4: he went out there and saw Tavere Thomas and said
- 10:58Speaker 4: that's the guy I'm going to go after time and
- 11:00Speaker 4: time again on Sunday, and to me, in his third year,
- 11:03Speaker 4: that's a also a sign of growth. You take the
- 11:06Speaker 4: what you go through in the week, the game plan,
- 11:08Speaker 4: and you put a to action on Sunday. They did
- 11:10Speaker 4: it repeatedly and it's great to see Lawrence and Calvin
- 11:13Speaker 4: Ridley really forming that combination we thought they would early
- 11:16Speaker 4: in the year.
- 11:17Speaker 2: Two things.
- 11:17Speaker 3: Number one that Picky through to Derek Stingley should have
- 11:19Speaker 3: been holding Evan Ingram was hooked. They should have been
- 11:22Speaker 3: as well lining up their slot right. The other thing is, well,
- 11:25Speaker 3: I love what Trevor Lawrence said after the game. Hey,
- 11:27Speaker 3: are you excited about this rivalry? You would CJ Shroud
- 11:30Speaker 3: twice a year? He said, no, I honestly wish all
- 11:33Speaker 3: the teams in our division were bad so it would
- 11:35Speaker 3: be easier for us.
- 11:36Speaker 2: And he said it.
- 11:36Speaker 3: I kind of talk a cheek, but he meant it,
- 11:38Speaker 3: and I give him smart credit for his open honesty.
- 11:42Speaker 3: Let's get to the Lions. In our final minuted here
- 11:44Speaker 3: of our first segment of the NFL Power Rankings Show
- 11:47Speaker 3: presented by Energizer, they plummet. I mean they fell five
- 11:51Speaker 3: spots down to number eight from number three because they
- 11:55Speaker 3: keep turning the ball over.
- 11:56Speaker 2: What a mess.
- 11:58Speaker 4: Yeah, I kind of regret now not moving them down
- 12:01Speaker 4: from three last week. I mean they held on for victory,
- 12:04Speaker 4: had the great I'm back and I think everybody was
- 12:06Speaker 4: sitting on the edge of their Thanksgiving seats on Thursday,
- 12:08Speaker 4: I think, and the same thing would happen. It was
- 12:10Speaker 4: never quite there. They did score late, but that defense
- 12:13Speaker 4: has really kind of taking a step back here, and
- 12:16Speaker 4: you know, outside of Aiden Hutchinson, they don't seem to
- 12:18Speaker 4: have a lot of big playmakers right now. Jack Campbell
- 12:21Speaker 4: is overloaded as a rookie. The secondary has been picked
- 12:25Speaker 4: apart a little bit. You know, no takeaways on Thursday
- 12:28Speaker 4: for the first game since Week two. That's sort of
- 12:30Speaker 4: been a part of their equation at least won every
- 12:33Speaker 4: other game. So you know, Bears and Packers last two
- 12:36Speaker 4: games have moved the ball against them, and you just
- 12:38Speaker 4: say to yourself, this is not the time to also
- 12:41Speaker 4: be having offensive line problems and Jared Goff turnover problems.
- 12:45Speaker 4: They've all kind of consolidated over the last week or so.
- 12:48Speaker 4: And you know, this team that was everyone's darling not
- 12:51Speaker 4: too long ago has now got some missions, got a face.
- 12:54Speaker 3: Yep, And they go on the road this week to
- 12:56Speaker 3: face a banged up and desperate New Orleans team. We've
- 13:00Speaker 3: revealed the top eight coming up next. Where are the
- 13:03Speaker 3: Steelers now that they show at least a semblance of
- 13:06Speaker 3: a professional football offense. We will tell you how.
- 13:09Speaker 2: About up Power rankings With thirteen.
- 13:19Speaker 3: The countdown continues on the NFL Power Rankings Show, presented
- 13:22Speaker 3: to you by Energizer. The Pittsburgh Steelers are up four
- 13:27Speaker 3: to nine after beating Jake Browning and the Bengals. Browns
- 13:30Speaker 3: go down one to ten, followed by the Texans, the Bills,
- 13:34Speaker 3: the Colts, the Seahawks at fourteen will call that the
- 13:37Speaker 3: playoff line, and then the Broncos and the Vikings at
- 13:40Speaker 3: fifteen and sixteen. Eric at Home of course, puts together
- 13:43Speaker 3: all these power rankings the Team of the Week presented
- 13:45Speaker 3: by two Cruis Bank Eric.
- 13:47Speaker 2: The pitts Erg Steelers.
- 13:50Speaker 3: They fire Matt Canada, they let Mike Sullivan call the plays,
- 13:54Speaker 3: and what do you know, they eke out a victory
- 13:56Speaker 3: against Jake Browning and the Bengals.
- 13:59Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 14:00Speaker 4: After rewatching that game, two things stood out. First of all,
- 14:02Speaker 4: the first play of the game, Canny Pickkett Thros to
- 14:04Speaker 4: Pat Fryarmuth down the seam. I almost, you know, had
- 14:07Speaker 4: a heart attack watching it. I hadn't seen that route
- 14:09Speaker 4: run all season long. I mean, that was the biggest
- 14:12Speaker 4: development right there. Just sent a message right away, We're
- 14:15Speaker 4: gonna throw the ball differently than we have before. Everything
- 14:17Speaker 4: to the perimeter, everything short. Instead, they get a huge
- 14:21Speaker 4: game out of Friarmuth, you returned last week, had been
- 14:23Speaker 4: out for a long time quietly, you know, a big
- 14:26Speaker 4: part of that offense, even if he hadn't got off
- 14:28Speaker 4: to a great start this season. So Sullivan, Pickett Friarmuth.
- 14:32Speaker 2: That helped.
- 14:33Speaker 4: Who knows what happens with the Deontay Johnson drama. You
- 14:36Speaker 4: know they dealt with the picking stuff earlier in the year.
- 14:39Speaker 4: But Mike Tomlin good coaching, right, negative point differential this season,
- 14:43Speaker 4: three wins over five hundred compared to that to the
- 14:45Speaker 4: Chargers positive points minus three in the in the wind department.
- 14:49Speaker 4: So I just think they they found a good way
- 14:51Speaker 4: to win games. And again their yardage just our advantage,
- 14:55Speaker 4: I should say, suggested to me that they they outplayed
- 14:58Speaker 4: the Bengals by a significant amount.
- 15:01Speaker 2: No, and I'm with you here.
- 15:02Speaker 3: And they are ahead of the Browns where they lost
- 15:04Speaker 3: to the week before. Cleveland's at ten, Houston's at eleven.
- 15:07Speaker 3: And then you have the Buffalo Bills sitting here at
- 15:11Speaker 3: number twelve. Buffalo is heading into a buy. They are
- 15:15Speaker 3: six and six at number twelve. That kind of tells
- 15:20Speaker 3: me you still think they're a playoff team potentially, even
- 15:25Speaker 3: though they sit here in the ten spot to open
- 15:28Speaker 3: up the week in the AFC.
- 15:31Speaker 4: It's funny, you know, they play the Eagles on Sunday,
- 15:33Speaker 4: and we talked in the open about how impressive there
- 15:35Speaker 4: the Eagles are at winning games, and you could argue
- 15:38Speaker 4: that the Bills are just as impressive at not winning games.
- 15:40Speaker 4: Right They dominate their opponents at times and ring up
- 15:44Speaker 4: five hundred plus yards on Sunday, controlled the ball for
- 15:47Speaker 4: forty plus minutes. Allen was great. They had some spectacular
- 15:51Speaker 4: moments in the game, and yet they couldn't finish it off.
- 15:53Speaker 4: Little place here and there, a missfield goal, ten first
- 15:56Speaker 4: half penalties, whatever you want to pull out. You know,
- 15:59Speaker 4: obviously the end of the half execution they're in regulation
- 16:03Speaker 4: right not you know, choosing to ice the kicker, waste
- 16:06Speaker 4: the time out on that and then go straight to
- 16:08Speaker 4: overtime with twenty seconds in a timeout. So you know,
- 16:12Speaker 4: we mentioned the Gabe Davis play too. There's just so
- 16:14Speaker 4: many little things that add up to them not winning games.
- 16:17Speaker 4: But when they're on, they're dangerous. So that's what kind
- 16:21Speaker 4: of keeps them in that kind of low teen range
- 16:23Speaker 4: right now.
- 16:24Speaker 3: Okay, I said it on Monday night on NFL Game
- 16:26Speaker 3: Day Final with White after the Bears beat the Vikings.
- 16:29Speaker 3: I think in the AFC it comes down to which
- 16:31Speaker 3: quarterback is healthy at the end of the year.
- 16:33Speaker 2: Just get in with a healthy quarterback.
- 16:34Speaker 3: And if the Bills somehow get in, then yeah, you
- 16:37Speaker 3: open the door for some Josh Allen magic in the postseason.
- 16:40Speaker 3: Magic that we saw a lot of on Sunday in
- 16:43Speaker 3: the RAN in Philadelphia, but in the end, not enough
- 16:46Speaker 3: and Jalen Hurts had more. So you have the Bills
- 16:50Speaker 3: at twelve. You have the colt sitting here at thirteen.
- 16:53Speaker 3: They have a better record than the Bills. They are
- 16:57Speaker 3: six and five. They're at Tennessee this week, or rather
- 17:00Speaker 3: they're home for Tennessee. They're up three. They're in the
- 17:03Speaker 3: playoffs right now.
- 17:05Speaker 4: Yep, they're in that last spot. And look, I mean,
- 17:09Speaker 4: you know, we'll see what happens with Jonathan Taylor. He's
- 17:11Speaker 4: dealing with the thumb injury in Rappaport reported that on Tuesday.
- 17:15Speaker 4: And you know, but they have Zach Moss too, and
- 17:17Speaker 4: both those guys sort of punished that defense on Sunday
- 17:21Speaker 4: for the better part of four quarters. Gardner Minshew, he's
- 17:25Speaker 4: still a wild card, right he had the I would
- 17:28Speaker 4: say poor interception and some other plays that could have
- 17:32Speaker 4: ended negatively. But you have a defense that takes the
- 17:34Speaker 4: ball away. That's ten turnovers and five games. Now, that's
- 17:37Speaker 4: kind of a formula for them. Even if they give
- 17:39Speaker 4: up some yards, they steal a possession or two almost
- 17:42Speaker 4: every time out. So that plus the run game and
- 17:45Speaker 4: an occasional sort of splash play from the passing game
- 17:48Speaker 4: Michael Pittman and other strong outing, it's been a pretty
- 17:51Speaker 4: decent formula. Since that three game losing streak, they've gotten
- 17:54Speaker 4: back on track and they don't have the firepower of
- 17:57Speaker 4: the Bills, but they're an interesting team all of a sudden.
- 17:59Speaker 3: Shane Stikeen deserves a lot of credit here. He deserves
- 18:01Speaker 3: a lot of votes as well for Coach of the
- 18:04Speaker 3: Year in a rookie effort. There without Anthony Richardson, with
- 18:07Speaker 3: Jonathan Taylor missing all that time as well and everything
- 18:09Speaker 3: that surrounded that injury at the start of the season,
- 18:12Speaker 3: they're not there yet. But right now they are fighting
- 18:14Speaker 3: for a playoff spot, and they're head of Seattle at
- 18:16Speaker 3: fourteen and ahead of Denver at fifteen. Let's make some
- 18:19Speaker 3: power moves because that's what the Broncos are doing. Power
- 18:22Speaker 3: Moves are presented by Energizer. Go back to the end
- 18:25Speaker 3: of September, Eric, after the Broncos gave up seventy and
- 18:29Speaker 3: ten touchdowns. Let's play that drinking game. Every time you
- 18:31Speaker 3: mentioned seventy points, you got to take a shot here,
- 18:34Speaker 3: of course, a shot of water, you know, for for fun,
- 18:36Speaker 3: recreational please two hands for you know, you know, don't
- 18:40Speaker 3: give it to kids here. I don't even know I'm
- 18:41Speaker 3: talking him talking circles. They were thirty one after week four, Eric,
- 18:46Speaker 3: They've won five.
- 18:47Speaker 2: In a row.
- 18:49Speaker 4: I regret nothing, Andrew, that was where they were at
- 18:51Speaker 4: the time. This is not a good football team. I
- 18:53Speaker 4: remember I watched this team and thought, boy, I expected
- 18:56Speaker 4: more from a Sean Payton coach team. And yet you know,
- 18:59Speaker 4: we saw the seventy point outing, everyone calling for Vance
- 19:02Speaker 4: Joseph's head. He has turned that unit around completely. The
- 19:06Speaker 4: fact that they have fifteen turnovers force fifteen takeaways in
- 19:09Speaker 4: the last four games tells me that they are doing
- 19:13Speaker 4: an outstanding job and have corrected whatever ills there were
- 19:16Speaker 4: in September. So that, plus Russell Wilson great ball security
- 19:21Speaker 4: using his Legs More, he's got that great connection with Sutton.
- 19:24Speaker 4: The other receivers there have kind of developed two. You know,
- 19:27Speaker 4: if Javonte Williams is healthy for the playoffs, they're another
- 19:30Speaker 4: frightening team if they get in for that matter. But still,
- 19:32Speaker 4: I mean, the way they've climbed back into this thing
- 19:34Speaker 4: has been shocking but impressive.
- 19:37Speaker 3: It is shocking there at six and five, and that's good.
- 19:41Speaker 3: That's the same record the coltsav sitting there as the
- 19:43Speaker 3: seventh seed. Right now, there is a log jam at
- 19:46Speaker 3: six and five Indianapolis, Houston and Denver, and then Buffalo
- 19:49Speaker 3: right behind them at six and six.
- 19:52Speaker 2: Give Sean Payton all the credit in the world.
- 19:53Speaker 3: And I have no idea how I got the team
- 19:55Speaker 3: you up on the Broncos there, other than the fact
- 19:58Speaker 3: that they were batterly and they were number thirty one
- 20:00Speaker 3: through four weeks. Now they are good and they are
- 20:03Speaker 3: fighting for a playoff spot as we turned the calendar
- 20:05Speaker 3: to December. So two are the Vikings. As we sit
- 20:08Speaker 3: here right now, Minnesota, Eric is the seven seed heading
- 20:12Speaker 3: into the by after losing to the Bears. But as
- 20:15Speaker 3: we sit here right now with Justin Jefferson coming back
- 20:17Speaker 3: after the bye. Kevin O'Connell is not committing to Josh
- 20:21Speaker 3: Dobbs after the four interceptions on Monday night.
- 20:26Speaker 4: Yeah, you know. I had a friend in the league
- 20:28Speaker 4: text me at halftime and said, when do they pull
- 20:30Speaker 4: them from Nick Mallins, And I, you know, I thought, boy,
- 20:32Speaker 4: I don't think they're going to do that. But now,
- 20:34Speaker 4: all of a sudden, after four interceptions, arguably three of
- 20:37Speaker 4: them were his fault, I would say, you know, you
- 20:40Speaker 4: have to at least consider it. Mullins has been in
- 20:42Speaker 4: the system for you know, multiple seasons, now parts of
- 20:45Speaker 4: multiple seasons. Josh Dobb's been there less than a month.
- 20:48Speaker 4: Whatever he did in those first couple of games, you know,
- 20:51Speaker 4: should count for something. But when you see a performance
- 20:54Speaker 4: like this against the defense that hasn't dominated right the
- 20:57Speaker 4: Bears have been if but not great, it opens the door.
- 21:01Speaker 4: It absolutely does, especially with your star receiver coming back
- 21:04Speaker 4: y it does.
- 21:05Speaker 3: And I love Josh Dobbs. I've said this repeatedly. It
- 21:08Speaker 3: is the story of the year. If you believe in
- 21:13Speaker 3: quarterback win loss record. He is now two to nine
- 21:17Speaker 3: this year. A lot of that obviously, the Arizona Cardinals,
- 21:20Speaker 3: they're not a good football team. It's something to consider
- 21:23Speaker 3: here with Jefferson coming back after the.
- 21:25Speaker 2: Bike all right?
- 21:25Speaker 3: Coming up on the NFL Power Ranking Show presented by Energizer,
- 21:30Speaker 3: Where are the Packers?
- 21:32Speaker 2: Because they're playing good football these days? Coming up.
- 21:43Speaker 3: NFL Power Ranking Show presented by Energizer.
- 21:46Speaker 2: The Saints are seventeen, they're down two.
- 21:48Speaker 3: Packers are up for Falcons are up for Bengals or
- 21:51Speaker 3: number twenty, followed by the Chargers, the rams La back
- 21:54Speaker 3: to back, the Raiders, and the Tampa Bay Bucket Airs.
- 21:58Speaker 3: Eric head home, how about the Green Bay Packers? They
- 22:01Speaker 3: are up for? What if I told you I thought
- 22:04Speaker 3: they might beat the Chiefs on Sunday night. I think
- 22:07Speaker 3: there's a chance.
- 22:09Speaker 4: It's going to be a competitive game. I think, right
- 22:11Speaker 4: at least if the Packers carry over what they've done,
- 22:13Speaker 4: and then Jordan Loves played great, Matt Lafleur looks like
- 22:16Speaker 4: he's having fun again calling plays, and those young receivers
- 22:19Speaker 4: have started to step up, and you know, with Aaron
- 22:21Speaker 4: Jones out you have to and with the defense that look,
- 22:24Speaker 4: if they don't get those takeaways against the Lions, maybe
- 22:27Speaker 4: they lose. That is a little concerning against the Casey offense.
- 22:30Speaker 4: That's at least seemingly getting right right now. But yeah,
- 22:33Speaker 4: can't count them out Green Bays in the thick of it.
- 22:35Speaker 3: All of a sudden, the Falcons, if the playoffs were
- 22:38Speaker 3: to start right now at five and six.
- 22:40Speaker 2: Would host the Cowboys. I mean, that's the craziest bonkers,
- 22:44Speaker 2: isn't it.
- 22:45Speaker 4: Every Falcons game feels exactly the same to me. Right,
- 22:48Speaker 4: they use the run game, they get something out of it.
- 22:50Speaker 4: Desmond Rudder makes a mistake, but then he brings them back,
- 22:53Speaker 4: and that was what played out on Sunday, and look
- 22:56Speaker 4: they win by two scores. Impressive. You beat the team
- 22:59Speaker 4: that was ahead of you in the division. Now you're
- 23:01Speaker 4: up on them. You know it's probably going to go
- 23:04Speaker 4: this way on the stretch, but it does concern you
- 23:06Speaker 4: that they kind of had to get those two turnovers
- 23:09Speaker 4: in the red zone in order to win. I mean,
- 23:11Speaker 4: the Saints were going down scoring both times. One is
- 23:14Speaker 4: a pick six, the other way one leads to another touchdown.
- 23:17Speaker 4: So you know, Atlanta finds a way to do it,
- 23:20Speaker 4: even if it doesn't sort of win us over every
- 23:22Speaker 4: single week style wise.
- 23:24Speaker 3: I mean, the Falcons again are a division leader at
- 23:26Speaker 3: five and six. Somebody has to win the NFC South
- 23:29Speaker 3: at five and six, and they are the nineteen nineteenth team.
- 23:34Speaker 2: On your list.
- 23:34Speaker 3: And then we have the Rams who are up to
- 23:36Speaker 3: and we're talking playoffs and I'm not kidding here in La.
- 23:39Speaker 2: They have a fascinating game this week at home against
- 23:41Speaker 2: the Browns.
- 23:43Speaker 4: Yeah, and boy, the way that Rams offensive line played
- 23:46Speaker 4: the other day against the Cardinals, still granted, but you
- 23:49Speaker 4: know that all of a sudden is a really good
- 23:50Speaker 4: matchup against the Browns team that suddenly isn't defending the
- 23:54Speaker 4: run quite like they used to. Maybe again, this is
- 23:56Speaker 4: only a one or a two week trend, but we'll
- 23:58Speaker 4: see how it plays out. I mean, you know, Cooper
- 24:01Speaker 4: cups playing banged up, Hiron Williams comes back from injury
- 24:04Speaker 4: to perform extremely well. They all of a sudden, He's
- 24:07Speaker 4: sort of a lynchpin in their plans. And maybe they're
- 24:10Speaker 4: one of those sort of sneaky teams like the Colts,
- 24:12Speaker 4: that gets in and surprises people. You never know.
- 24:14Speaker 3: They are five and six, and a win over the
- 24:16Speaker 3: Browns would be huge, getting them six and six and
- 24:18Speaker 3: very much in the NFC conversation. The rest of the rankings,
- 24:22Speaker 3: the Bears, the Titans, the Jets, and Giants, the Commanders
- 24:26Speaker 3: at twenty nine, the Cardinals at thirty. You have the
- 24:30Speaker 3: Patriots barely ahead of the Panthers. Here Carolina fired, Frank Reich,
- 24:36Speaker 3: Carolina is thirty two. I think you summed it up
- 24:39Speaker 3: the best when you wrote this thing up on NFL
- 24:41Speaker 3: dot Com, as you do every week here, that the
- 24:44Speaker 3: gap between one the Eagles and thirty two the Carolina
- 24:48Speaker 3: Panthers couldn't be any bigger. It's like you're looking across
- 24:52Speaker 3: the Grand Canyon at home. Great job, as always, sir.
- 24:55Speaker 3: Enjoy Week thirteen. Enjoy your NFC Championship Game rematch, Rarick
- 25:00Speaker 3: at Home and Andrew Siciliato, So long, everybody.
