- 0:14Speaker 1: goal line. He throws it into the end zone. Touchdown.
- 0:17Speaker 1: Say Hawks, it's Michael Bumpas with a diving catch in
- 0:21Speaker 1: the end zone. Our ten yard touchdown reception for Puppas
- 0:25Speaker 1: and the kid out of Washington State has found himself
- 0:28Speaker 1: a place on this team. Powered by Seahawks dot Com.
- 0:33Speaker 1: Welcome to Hawk Talk Recap edition. I'm in Michael Bumpas
- 0:36Speaker 1: with NASA Chobe. The Seahawks fall to the Packers seventeen
- 0:39Speaker 1: to zero at lambeau Field. Lots of reason to be
- 0:43Speaker 1: hopeful going into this game. D esk Ridge was going
- 0:45Speaker 1: to be back. Most importantly, Russell Wilson was back under center.
- 0:50Speaker 1: Just not able to get it done. Let's break it
- 0:52Speaker 1: down and figure out what happened. See what happened at
- 0:54Speaker 1: first work? What had happened was on Hawk Talk Michael
- 1:01Speaker 1: Bumpus man the Seahawks going into the game or oh
- 1:04Speaker 1: and nine at Lambo Field since nineteen ninety nine. The
- 1:07Speaker 1: road teams in this series really struggled to win on
- 1:10Speaker 1: the road, obviously, going oh and nine in the last
- 1:12Speaker 1: nine meetings. And you know, I woke up while on
- 1:14Speaker 1: Sunday and I was stealing good I was telling you
- 1:16Speaker 1: when I walked in, I was feeling that sense of optimism.
- 1:19Speaker 1: It was snowing in Green Bay. The atmosphere was there.
- 1:22Speaker 1: We had guys coming back. Russell Wilson was making his
- 1:24Speaker 1: triumphant return. You mentioned, d Escrits was coming back. Everything
- 1:28Speaker 1: kind of felt like the Seahawks were even get that
- 1:30Speaker 1: boost that they needed. Unfortunately, not how it happened. Seahawks
- 1:34Speaker 1: fall to the Packers seventeen to zero, making the record
- 1:37Speaker 1: at Green Bay now oh and ten. If we never
- 1:40Speaker 1: have to go back there, it'll be too soon. It's
- 1:44Speaker 1: just been a house of horse for Seahawks fans and
- 1:46Speaker 1: everyone involved in I think a couple there's a couple
- 1:49Speaker 1: of really big storylines. When we talked about what happened yesterday.
- 1:52Speaker 1: First off, it was Russell making his highly anticipated return
- 1:55Speaker 1: under center. Now things didn't go the way he'd hoped for,
- 1:59Speaker 1: the way Sehawk fans so fur the way the coaching
- 2:00Speaker 1: staff hope for. And this game kind of really turned
- 2:03Speaker 1: into defensive battle that I don't think any of us
- 2:05Speaker 1: saw coming. I told you on our preview podcast set,
- 2:09Speaker 1: if we held the Packers to under twenty eight points,
- 2:11Speaker 1: I think we'd have a really good chat at the game. Now,
- 2:14Speaker 1: if you would have told me that the Packers will
- 2:15Speaker 1: only score seventeen points, bump, I would have told you
- 2:18Speaker 1: that they would have blown them out or at least
- 2:20Speaker 1: wanted by double figures. Man, what'd you see from Russell
- 2:23Speaker 1: Wilson yesterday? He was twenty to forty four, one hundred
- 2:26Speaker 1: and sixty one yards. He had two interceptions, unfortunately both
- 2:29Speaker 1: of those occurred in the end zone. Was also sacked
- 2:31Speaker 1: three times and had a rating of thirty nine point seven.
- 2:34Speaker 1: So there's a lot of factors going on here. It
- 2:36Speaker 1: was cold, obviously, Russell had come back from a finger
- 2:40Speaker 1: surgery in record time, came back in four weeks after
- 2:44Speaker 1: having a pin in there. It was cold trying to
- 2:46Speaker 1: grip the football and then also not practicing for as
- 2:48Speaker 1: long as he had. What'd you see from him? And
- 2:51Speaker 1: how would you evaluate his performance? And I saw he
- 2:54Speaker 1: looked at times he looked really good at times. He
- 2:57Speaker 1: took the football, he ran, he will make the throw
- 2:59Speaker 1: another time to seem like his rhythm was off just
- 3:02Speaker 1: a little bit. You can tell he just hasn't really
- 3:04Speaker 1: been in the game. There's a time again, a flow
- 3:06Speaker 1: that happens when you play any sport, especially football. There's
- 3:08Speaker 1: a lot of chemistry. You're playing with ten of the guys.
- 3:11Speaker 1: You gotta be on the same page. And I saw
- 3:13Speaker 1: a guy late in the game who made two really
- 3:15Speaker 1: bad mistakes. He forced the ball to DK didn't work out,
- 3:17Speaker 1: forced the ball late to Tyle to Lockett, had two
- 3:20Speaker 1: safeties over the top, just didn't work out. So I
- 3:23Speaker 1: I just saw a guy who hadn't practiced for a while.
- 3:25Speaker 1: And I think we saw that with Aaron Rodgers too.
- 3:28Speaker 1: We also saw a guy who had practice for a while.
- 3:30Speaker 1: He was only out ten days. Russell was out for
- 3:31Speaker 1: a month. So I saw a guy who was competing.
- 3:34Speaker 1: I saw a guy who was trying to lead his
- 3:36Speaker 1: team to victory but just couldn't get it done. And
- 3:39Speaker 1: I think as the season goes along, especially after this week,
- 3:42Speaker 1: we'll see Rust get healthy. He's gonna fix a lot
- 3:44Speaker 1: of these things. But man, it's so hard to play
- 3:47Speaker 1: this game, especially football, without practice. It's not like basketball. Basketball,
- 3:51Speaker 1: you can show up and kind of find your game,
- 3:53Speaker 1: but football is such a precise sport. It's tough. Man,
- 3:57Speaker 1: So feel bad for the Hawks. I feel bad for
- 4:00Speaker 1: Russ but I think they will bounce back from this. Well,
- 4:03Speaker 1: you meant you hit the nail on the head right there.
- 4:04Speaker 1: Football is a much different game, especially at that position.
- 4:07Speaker 1: There's a reason why those thirty two guys that get
- 4:09Speaker 1: the opportunity to do it in this league get paid
- 4:11Speaker 1: the way that they do because it is the toughest
- 4:13Speaker 1: position in sports. I don't care what anyone says. So
- 4:16Speaker 1: coming back without any practice time, I think if it
- 4:18Speaker 1: was a different position, it would still take some adjustment time.
- 4:21Speaker 1: But if you're returning as a corner or as a safety,
- 4:23Speaker 1: as long as your mentals are right, maybe you get
- 4:25Speaker 1: a couple of hits, You get the pads warm, loosed up.
- 4:27Speaker 1: I think it's easier to get into a flow of
- 4:29Speaker 1: a football game other than playing quarterback. Now, what do
- 4:33Speaker 1: you think of the offense as a whole outside of
- 4:36Speaker 1: Russell Wilson? Right, they struggled. Of course, stay didn't scorning points.
- 4:40Speaker 1: They punted on their first four drives in the end
- 4:41Speaker 1: of half, then they went punt interception punt interception downs
- 4:45Speaker 1: in the second half. Why do you think they weren't
- 4:47Speaker 1: able to get really in a flow offensively? And what
- 4:51Speaker 1: do you think about the run game all that stuff? Man?
- 4:54Speaker 1: I think the run game was all right, wasn't what
- 4:56Speaker 1: it needed to be. Is not what we've become accustomed
- 4:58Speaker 1: to seeing the last couple of years. Alice Collins only
- 5:02Speaker 1: had forty yards. But the offense, it just didn't seem
- 5:04Speaker 1: to really get into a flow. Nothing seemed to click. Really.
- 5:07Speaker 1: I was excited seeing the tight ends get more involved.
- 5:09Speaker 1: Jerald Ever, we'll talk about him later. He was a
- 5:11Speaker 1: playmaker for US. Eight catches on eight targets will distly
- 5:14Speaker 1: got involved. But when you're relying on the tight ends
- 5:17Speaker 1: to get you going, and at the expense of DK
- 5:21Speaker 1: and Tyler Locket, you're not gonna be really explosive unless
- 5:23Speaker 1: you have a George Kittle or Travis Kelsey. Those aren't
- 5:28Speaker 1: the type of tight ends that the Seahawks have. So
- 5:30Speaker 1: it was tough, man, I think. And Waldron is never
- 5:34Speaker 1: gonna say this, and Russell Wilson's never gonna say it,
- 5:37Speaker 1: but that finger affected how they called the game and
- 5:39Speaker 1: how the game was played. It just did. You could
- 5:41Speaker 1: see it. It limited some things. So um, yeah, man,
- 5:44Speaker 1: I saw an offense who's trying to figure out who
- 5:46Speaker 1: they are. Who they are with Russell Russell Wilson. Now
- 5:49Speaker 1: I think with Gino, Waldron kind of figured it out. Okay,
- 5:52Speaker 1: what is he good at? What can he do? How
- 5:54Speaker 1: can I have him manage this game? And now you
- 5:56Speaker 1: kind of gotta turn the page and say, all right,
- 5:59Speaker 1: we got number three back, we got we got our
- 6:01Speaker 1: leader bag. How aggressive are we gonna be? Are we
- 6:03Speaker 1: gonna throw the ball down the field? Are we gonna
- 6:05Speaker 1: try some some new things? Saw a screen that I've
- 6:08Speaker 1: never seen before wasn't successful. Saw ds gridge on a
- 6:11Speaker 1: fly sweep wasn't successful. The deep ball wasn't successful. The
- 6:14Speaker 1: only thing that was really good where the underneath stuff
- 6:17Speaker 1: getting into the tight ends. It's unfortunate because you know
- 6:21Speaker 1: the team has talent, but it takes chemistry and practice
- 6:24Speaker 1: to get things going. Yeah, Bump, And I think where
- 6:27Speaker 1: the game really turned was the Seahawks third the second
- 6:30Speaker 1: drive in the second half. It's the one where Russell's
- 6:32Speaker 1: intercepted by Kevin King in the end zone. If you
- 6:35Speaker 1: go through that drive, that's the only drive in the
- 6:37Speaker 1: game where they really got things going. They drive started
- 6:39Speaker 1: on the thirty eight yard line, and the Seahawks actually
- 6:41Speaker 1: had pretty decent starting field position for most of the
- 6:44Speaker 1: football game. And they have a couple of nice plays
- 6:47Speaker 1: mixing up Alex Collins had some nice runs. Russell found
- 6:50Speaker 1: Collins and DK and a couple of nice things. But
- 6:53Speaker 1: here's where the game turned. It was first in ten
- 6:55Speaker 1: from the Green Bay twelve. At that moment, the score
- 6:59Speaker 1: was three to nothing Packers. You were thinking the Seahawks
- 7:01Speaker 1: are final way to get in the end zone. Unfortunately
- 7:03Speaker 1: happens on first and ten. Russell Wilson didn't complete to
- 7:06Speaker 1: Freddie Swain. Then on second down Travis Homer kind of
- 7:10Speaker 1: goes back to him late, Travis drops it. Then third
- 7:13Speaker 1: down is the interception. And that's where the game really turned.
- 7:16Speaker 1: And while we're talking about the interception, someone's gotta explain
- 7:19Speaker 1: to me some stuff bump, because I'm not saying this
- 7:23Speaker 1: and hear me when I say this. The Seahawks did
- 7:25Speaker 1: not lose because of the officials, but it was a
- 7:29Speaker 1: rough day. So somebody needs to explain to me how
- 7:31Speaker 1: Kevin King, how that's an interception. I know the rules
- 7:34Speaker 1: kind of change about surviving to the ground, but they
- 7:37Speaker 1: didn't even review it. It didn't even to me. Didn't
- 7:40Speaker 1: look like he had possession of the football. Okay, that's
- 7:42Speaker 1: a huge play. Then you have to Darryl Taylor when
- 7:44Speaker 1: he jumps on a fumble. Packer fans are gonna be
- 7:47Speaker 1: telling us, Okay, what about the film Mary, Okay, whatever,
- 7:49Speaker 1: dual possession tie goes to the runner, except the difference
- 7:52Speaker 1: was I thought Taylor had it, then Rogers jumped in late,
- 7:56Speaker 1: and then it was dual possession. I think Daryl Taylor
- 7:59Speaker 1: had it first. And then to start the game off,
- 8:02Speaker 1: Russell Wilson on that first down spot and the fact
- 8:05Speaker 1: that they Ray was the first one, and Catty he's like, oh,
- 8:07Speaker 1: I think they're gonna spot this short because you have
- 8:08Speaker 1: one officials saying it's a first down the Seahawks did.
- 8:11Speaker 1: It's the first and ten and they're going up to the
- 8:12Speaker 1: the line of scrimmage thing where they're gonna run on
- 8:14Speaker 1: first and ten and at the last second they're like, oh,
- 8:16Speaker 1: it's fourth and one. So everyone's like, oh, why didn't
- 8:18Speaker 1: you go for it? But that affects the play calling.
- 8:19Speaker 1: You were thinking it was a different situation, and so
- 8:22Speaker 1: she has said it punting away. So it's disappointing us. Again,
- 8:24Speaker 1: not the reason why they lost the game, but it
- 8:26Speaker 1: definitely didn't help the Seahawks. But the nice thing bump.
- 8:29Speaker 1: We'll get in this a little bit more, but the
- 8:31Speaker 1: defense bump. The defense was on point yesterday. I'd love
- 8:34Speaker 1: to see it. Defense was really on point, man. The
- 8:38Speaker 1: secondary played well. You hold Aaron Rodgers to no throwing
- 8:41Speaker 1: touchdowns and one interception last month. The defense has been
- 8:46Speaker 1: playing well. I mean they give up seven points, thirteen points,
- 8:49Speaker 1: twenty three points, and now seventeen. What else can you
- 8:53Speaker 1: ask for. It's just time for everything to start click.
- 8:56Speaker 1: And I can't wait till that happens. I hope that
- 8:57Speaker 1: happens pretty soon because time is running out. These guys,
- 9:00Speaker 1: the three and six still in the playoff picture, but
- 9:03Speaker 1: it's getting tougher and tougher. But I'm happy for the
- 9:05Speaker 1: defense because that was the not going into the season.
- 9:08Speaker 1: Can the defense keep up with the offense right now?
- 9:10Speaker 1: Can this offense keep up with the defense is the question.
- 9:13Speaker 1: And you're still waiting for guys to get healthy. Number
- 9:15Speaker 1: thirty two. Chris Carson has to get healthy and get
- 9:17Speaker 1: back in there. I would assume that changes things. Russell
- 9:20Speaker 1: still has to get healthy. I'm convinced he's nine one
- 9:21Speaker 1: hundred percent. I give him eighty five ninety percent, better
- 9:25Speaker 1: than most at eighty five and ninety. But there's nothing
- 9:26Speaker 1: like a Russell does one hundred percent and then special teams.
- 9:29Speaker 1: I mean, I think Michael Dixon still continues to do
- 9:31Speaker 1: a great job pinning them back a couple of times
- 9:33Speaker 1: inside the ten last night. Honestly complete ten sport. You
- 9:36Speaker 1: got three units that need to perform at a high
- 9:38Speaker 1: level to get this thing going. Right now, I say
- 9:41Speaker 1: one and a half units are playing good right now. Yeah, yeah,
- 9:44Speaker 1: And unfortunately, I think that's kind of been the Seahawks
- 9:46Speaker 1: issue all season, is it's been hard for them to
- 9:48Speaker 1: put it all together. There's great moments from the offense
- 9:51Speaker 1: earlier in the season, there's been great moments from the defense.
- 9:54Speaker 1: As of late. There's been good halfs here and there
- 9:56Speaker 1: from each side of the football. But it's just trying
- 9:58Speaker 1: to find a way to put all three phases of
- 10:00Speaker 1: the game together at one time. And the Seahawks gotta
- 10:04Speaker 1: go now. Man they're three and six. This is weird,
- 10:06Speaker 1: unfamiliar territory. When I'm seeing the Seahawks at the bottom
- 10:09Speaker 1: of the division, when I'm seeing him in the bottom
- 10:11Speaker 1: of the playoff picture, but they still out a shot.
- 10:14Speaker 1: That's a crazy thing right now with how the league
- 10:16Speaker 1: is going is they're not buried, they're not out of it,
- 10:18Speaker 1: but things need to start changing soon. But getting back
- 10:22Speaker 1: to the Green Bay game, we'll talk about the playmakers. Playmakers,
- 10:37Speaker 1: all right, let's talk about these playmakers. Before this game started,
- 10:40Speaker 1: I asked the football guys to get the tight ends
- 10:43Speaker 1: more involved in this game, and that's exactly what happened.
- 10:45Speaker 1: Jared ever had eight receptions for sixty three yards on
- 10:48Speaker 1: eight targets. Coming into this game. He had fourteen receptions
- 10:51Speaker 1: on the whole season, so he was a point of emphasis.
- 10:54Speaker 1: Got him involved going across the field on shallows, quick passes.
- 10:57Speaker 1: Might like it because Joeld Evert is your most versable
- 10:59Speaker 1: time in I think he's a decent blocker, he's a
- 11:01Speaker 1: good route runner, and he's good with the ball in
- 11:04Speaker 1: his hands. Why not open up the playbook and get
- 11:06Speaker 1: these guys going. Like I said, it's gonna take more
- 11:08Speaker 1: than this one position group to ah to take this
- 11:13Speaker 1: offense to the next level. This was a group that
- 11:15Speaker 1: we wanted to see get going. Jodevan had a good day. Yeah,
- 11:19Speaker 1: sure that. Will Disley had a nice reception too. And
- 11:21Speaker 1: you mentioned it, you hit the nail on the head.
- 11:23Speaker 1: It was a nice prediction. You're right on that. I
- 11:25Speaker 1: wish it would have not come at the expense of
- 11:27Speaker 1: some of the other position groups playing well, right, but no,
- 11:30Speaker 1: it's it's something to build off of and something to
- 11:33Speaker 1: feel good about in terms of the tight end room.
- 11:35Speaker 1: Now on the other side of the ball, we've talked
- 11:36Speaker 1: about this for weeks now. I think at the end
- 11:38Speaker 1: of the podcast last week saying I want to see
- 11:41Speaker 1: that Jamal Adams game, that signature Jamal Adams game. And
- 11:44Speaker 1: I think we got that on Sunday. He had thirteen tackles,
- 11:48Speaker 1: one tackle for loss, He had an interception, he had
- 11:50Speaker 1: two quarterback hits. Jamal Adams played well, man. That is
- 11:53Speaker 1: the Jamal Adams who gave up two first round picks
- 11:55Speaker 1: for That is the Jamal Adams that when he came
- 11:58Speaker 1: to Seattle that you expected to see. Yes, he didn't
- 12:01Speaker 1: get the sacks, but he was effective. He was chasing
- 12:03Speaker 1: Aaron Rodgers down, hurried a couple of plays, got the
- 12:05Speaker 1: hands on the football, picked him off in the end zone,
- 12:07Speaker 1: and I love to see it. Everyone gets on that
- 12:09Speaker 1: man because he drops the balls this year and he
- 12:11Speaker 1: only has three career interceptions. But the man's making plays.
- 12:15Speaker 1: So I love to see it and they need it.
- 12:16Speaker 1: And when he's playing well, when Jamal Adam or excuse me,
- 12:19Speaker 1: Quandary Digs is playing all that can be one of
- 12:21Speaker 1: the best safety tannems in the National Football week. So
- 12:24Speaker 1: I love what I saw from Jamal Adams yesterday. Jamal
- 12:27Speaker 1: gotta pick and did the discount double check. I'm which man,
- 12:31Speaker 1: first time getting a pick and a see Hawk jersey
- 12:33Speaker 1: only his third of his career, not something that he does.
- 12:36Speaker 1: But if he can get that into his game, man,
- 12:38Speaker 1: how dangerous can this man be? Another performer, Jordan Brooks,
- 12:41Speaker 1: had thirteen tackles, ten solo, one tackle for loss. I mean,
- 12:45Speaker 1: this guy is getting better every single week. Eventually, Bobby
- 12:48Speaker 1: Wagner's gonna pass the torch to this young man and say, look,
- 12:51Speaker 1: this is now. You're a linebacker unit your defense. You
- 12:54Speaker 1: are the general. But right now he gets to learn
- 12:56Speaker 1: under Bobby Wagner. We hear him talk after the game.
- 12:59Speaker 1: He talked about how he has a great communication with Bobby,
- 13:01Speaker 1: how he's always learning, you know, not just on the field,
- 13:04Speaker 1: but off the field as well. I mean, Bobby's been
- 13:07Speaker 1: a great professional. We'll talk about a milestone that he reached,
- 13:10Speaker 1: but it's nice to see a young player following him
- 13:14Speaker 1: Bobby's footsteps and really developing every single week. I like
- 13:17Speaker 1: where he's headed, Oh, no question about it. Jordan Brooks,
- 13:20Speaker 1: fifty six is out there making plays. I love seeing
- 13:22Speaker 1: him in pass coverage. I think that's something that he's
- 13:24Speaker 1: continually getting better at. I think diagnosing screen passes is
- 13:28Speaker 1: something that's the next step for him and the rest
- 13:31Speaker 1: of that linebacking unit. But great to see Jordan Brooks.
- 13:33Speaker 1: And you mentioned Bobby Wider. You know, he had eight
- 13:36Speaker 1: tackles yesterday and that feels like the quietest game of
- 13:40Speaker 1: his career, and that just shows you the standard that
- 13:44Speaker 1: he plays the game with and where how high the
- 13:47Speaker 1: bar has been set. I mean, to have ten straight
- 13:50Speaker 1: seasons with a hundred tackles, that's unbelievable. Man, He's got
- 13:54Speaker 1: a thousand tackles and he's still going. That's just consistency.
- 13:57Speaker 1: I know you're a middle linebacker, you're supposed to get
- 13:59Speaker 1: all the tackles whatnot. But I just love to see
- 14:01Speaker 1: the consistency that he plays this game with and sending
- 14:05Speaker 1: a great example for guys like Jordan Brooks and other
- 14:07Speaker 1: young rookies. As eventually he's going to pass the torch
- 14:10Speaker 1: with some of these guys. So it's great that he's
- 14:11Speaker 1: setting that example Bump. But overall, when you talk about playmakers,
- 14:16Speaker 1: the offense and scorning points, so we're not gonna spend
- 14:18Speaker 1: a lot of time there. It kind of was what
- 14:19Speaker 1: it was, but continue to praise. It's the defense as
- 14:22Speaker 1: a whole. We mentioned a second ago seventeen points despite
- 14:25Speaker 1: being on the field Bump for thirty nine minutes. The
- 14:28Speaker 1: Packers almost dumped him up in time possession. Yeah, that's tough, man.
- 14:32Speaker 1: You're on the field for that long, you have to
- 14:33Speaker 1: get tired. That's when mistakes start to happen. But that's
- 14:37Speaker 1: defense hung in there man. Trey Brown had a great
- 14:39Speaker 1: pass breakup and fourth in two. DJ Reid had two
- 14:42Speaker 1: passes defended. We talked about Jamal Rashime Green had a sack.
- 14:47Speaker 1: They held this team to seventeen points, three points going
- 14:51Speaker 1: into the fourth quarter, gave up one touchdown and then
- 14:54Speaker 1: a late touchdown when the game was pretty much over.
- 14:56Speaker 1: I'm just gonna go ahead and get him ten a right, Yes,
- 14:58Speaker 1: has seventeen, but they gave a really ten points, and
- 15:01Speaker 1: you you hold any NFL team to seventeen points, you
- 15:05Speaker 1: got a really good chance to win the ball game. Unfortunately,
- 15:07Speaker 1: the offenses couldn't get gone. Yeah, I think, um, it's
- 15:11Speaker 1: crazy to think how two years in a row you
- 15:13Speaker 1: can start this season as badly as they did, um
- 15:17Speaker 1: and come back and be as good as they are now.
- 15:20Speaker 1: And like I said, we mentioned it last podcast, Bump,
- 15:23Speaker 1: I think they got They got an a minus on
- 15:25Speaker 1: that mid term they got. They got an a minus
- 15:30Speaker 1: and they're gonna need as the rest of the way
- 15:31Speaker 1: if they're gonna figure out a way to get into
- 15:33Speaker 1: the playoff picture and try to rectify the second half
- 15:37Speaker 1: of the season and go on a run. All right,
- 15:39Speaker 1: let's get over to that wide receiver Roundump and Bump.
- 15:41Speaker 1: It did not look like we're typically used to seeing.
- 15:44Speaker 1: We're used to seeing Tyler Lockett ten receptions on eleven targets,
- 15:48Speaker 1: DK metcalf three touchdowns what have You didn't look that
- 15:51Speaker 1: way on Sunday Bump, No, it didn't look like that.
- 15:54Speaker 1: M Tyler, Lockett and DK Metc had had sixteen targets
- 15:57Speaker 1: between the two of them, eight a piece, five receptions.
- 16:01Speaker 1: Dka have three, Tyler had two, DK three for twenty six,
- 16:05Speaker 1: Tyler two for twenty three. You're not gonna win ball
- 16:07Speaker 1: games like that. But Gerald Everett let the charge with
- 16:09Speaker 1: eight targets, eight receptions six to three yards. Travis Homer
- 16:13Speaker 1: had three for twenty three. Will Disley had two for
- 16:15Speaker 1: twenty two, Alex Collins one for eight, and then Penny Hard,
- 16:19Speaker 1: Freddie Swain and Askridge. Excuse me, Penny Hard. Freddie Swain
- 16:22Speaker 1: had a couple of targets a piece, no receptions. Eskers
- 16:25Speaker 1: had one target for minus four and that was on
- 16:28Speaker 1: a jet suite. They call that a reception because the
- 16:31Speaker 1: quarterback tosses it up. It's more like a handoff to me.
- 16:34Speaker 1: But ye had not a great day for the wide receivers,
- 16:37Speaker 1: good day for the tight ends. But they got to
- 16:40Speaker 1: find a way to incorporate the two positions. Yeah, I'm
- 16:42Speaker 1: hoping we never see a box score like that for
- 16:45Speaker 1: the rest of the season. But yes, sir, all right, Now,
- 16:48Speaker 1: let's break down a play. Jamal Adams intercepts Aaron Rodgers
- 16:52Speaker 1: and ends on here's the coach corner. Roger steps up
- 16:55Speaker 1: in the pocket, looks, gets hit, steps out of a
- 16:57Speaker 1: possible sack. Bobby hits him Paul in the end zone
- 17:00Speaker 1: and it's picked off. Adams picks it off. It's intended
- 17:05Speaker 1: in the end zone for Traguara. Rogers has hit. Just
- 17:08Speaker 1: as he throws the ball by Wagner, it's intercepted. The
- 17:11Speaker 1: Seahawks kill the drive by the Packers and take over.
- 17:15Speaker 1: The first interception for Adams this season. Yeah, this is
- 17:19Speaker 1: what just what pressure looks like. This is what happens
- 17:21Speaker 1: when you make a quarterback have to step up and
- 17:24Speaker 1: slide to the right and make a poor decision. This
- 17:28Speaker 1: is probably one of the worst decisions I've seen Aaron
- 17:30Speaker 1: Rodgers making his career. I mean, we saw three poor
- 17:33Speaker 1: decisions by two Hall of Fame quarterbacks that results that
- 17:36Speaker 1: in turnovers. And I know Rabel said Bobby Wagner got
- 17:39Speaker 1: his hands on Aaron Rodgers was actually Rashie Green. I
- 17:43Speaker 1: think that was Babino's key Hawk to watch machine. Green
- 17:46Speaker 1: had a decent game pretty much. Aaron Rodgers is moving
- 17:49Speaker 1: in the pocket, he has to step up, slide to
- 17:52Speaker 1: the right. Al Woods makes him step up again. Then
- 17:54Speaker 1: Rashie Green gets his hands on him and pushes him down.
- 17:58Speaker 1: I don't know what Rodgers is looking at because it
- 18:00Speaker 1: seems like Jamal Adams is in perfect position. He pretty
- 18:02Speaker 1: much has the receiver on the baseline if you want
- 18:05Speaker 1: to call it the back end of the end zone,
- 18:07Speaker 1: just making sure it was tight. End eighty one just
- 18:10Speaker 1: backed up and we still played his game three flags
- 18:13Speaker 1: up back in the day. I'm sure they call it
- 18:15Speaker 1: something else here in the Northwest, but that's what it
- 18:17Speaker 1: looks like. Aaron Rodgers just tosses it up. Jamal Adams
- 18:21Speaker 1: is in great position and he does a good job
- 18:23Speaker 1: catching it with his hands. He goes up with his
- 18:25Speaker 1: hands and gets the football, doesn't let it drop on him. Yeah, no,
- 18:29Speaker 1: it's great. I think we call flyers up here in
- 18:31Speaker 1: the Northwest. But no, you mentioned Jamal Adams high point
- 18:34Speaker 1: in the ball. It's a great finish to the play.
- 18:35Speaker 1: But You're right about Aaron Rodgers, and it makes me
- 18:37Speaker 1: think I'm wondering if he was initially going to try
- 18:40Speaker 1: to throw this out of the back of the end zone,
- 18:42Speaker 1: but the pressure got there too fast and he couldn't
- 18:44Speaker 1: have it. He didn't have enough mustard to get out
- 18:46Speaker 1: of the back and the end zone. Because it's good
- 18:48Speaker 1: and you mentioned what pressure looks like. It starts with
- 18:50Speaker 1: Alton Robinson. He was close about four or five times,
- 18:54Speaker 1: couldn't hold on, but he starts the pressure, initially gets
- 18:56Speaker 1: hands on Rodgers. Then al Woods flashes kind of in,
- 19:00Speaker 1: makes some step from the pocket again and the rashid
- 19:02Speaker 1: and Green finishes it off and throws Rogers into the
- 19:04Speaker 1: ground hard back. Look at the replay, he was in
- 19:07Speaker 1: the turf. And then because Jamal's it's a he's a
- 19:11Speaker 1: deep he's a deep safety. He's playing center field, and
- 19:13Speaker 1: he starts the play on the goal line, so he
- 19:16Speaker 1: didn't even have to pedal much. He's kind of shoveling
- 19:18Speaker 1: his feet reading the quarterback, makes a great play, gets
- 19:20Speaker 1: his hands on the football, and you love to see it.
- 19:22Speaker 1: That's something you can build off of. I equate it
- 19:25Speaker 1: to you know people, I don't think Jamal Adams thinks
- 19:28Speaker 1: this way, So I'm not projecting on him, but I'll
- 19:30Speaker 1: project on myself. I didn't have great hands bump. That's
- 19:33Speaker 1: why I played dB. Okay, and when you drop a
- 19:36Speaker 1: couple of interceptions, you start thinking about it. You start
- 19:39Speaker 1: so now the ball instead of just being like the
- 19:41Speaker 1: balls in the air, okay, your mentality should be that's
- 19:43Speaker 1: my ball anytime it's in the air. Period. It's hard.
- 19:45Speaker 1: You're either ball hawker you're not. So once you start
- 19:48Speaker 1: dropping balls, you start second guessing yourself in the balls
- 19:50Speaker 1: in the air instead of just go up there and
- 19:51Speaker 1: getting it. So what I love to see here. That
- 19:53Speaker 1: builds confidence. You up there snatch a football. Now you
- 19:56Speaker 1: start thinking every time the ball is in the air,
- 19:58Speaker 1: it's mine. And if Jamal Adams like you, I can
- 20:00Speaker 1: start getting interceptions. Oh boy, it's gonna be good for
- 20:03Speaker 1: this defense. Let's go Jamal adding the interceptions to your
- 20:07Speaker 1: game and you are the complete safety in the league.
- 20:11Speaker 1: All right, man, Well, another week, another loss, no victory
- 20:15Speaker 1: formation for us. The clock just ran out. A knee
- 20:21Speaker 1: taken by Huntley. They're just gonna let the clock wind down, Peach,
- 20:24Speaker 1: not even gonna bother taking that last time out? All right,
- 20:30Speaker 1: clock ran out. Man. Russell Wilson made his way back
- 20:32Speaker 1: on the field, but it wasn't enough against the green
- 20:34Speaker 1: Bay Packers. We knew going into this game it was
- 20:36Speaker 1: going to be tough. Nineteen ninety nine was the last
- 20:38Speaker 1: time this team won in Green Bay. They're now old
- 20:40Speaker 1: for their last ten in green Bay. Something about lambeau
- 20:44Speaker 1: Field just doesn't work for the Seattle Seahawks. Russell was
- 20:48Speaker 1: heard offense played well, excuse me, defense played well. Offense
- 20:51Speaker 1: couldn't get going, just struggles all the way around. Man,
- 20:54Speaker 1: But I expect Russell bounce back, of course. I mean
- 20:58Speaker 1: what he went through to get back to to be
- 21:00Speaker 1: able to play in the football game was remarkable on itself.
- 21:03Speaker 1: So it was almost unfair to expect him to play
- 21:06Speaker 1: at the level that we expect him to play at
- 21:08Speaker 1: right off the jump. But he's just so special. We
- 21:11Speaker 1: just kind of assumed that it's gonna happen when he's
- 21:13Speaker 1: on the field. He's gonna be Russ. So he's gonna
- 21:15Speaker 1: get healthy, he's gonna bounce back, he'll be better Defensively.
- 21:18Speaker 1: We mentioned it. It was the best performance of the
- 21:20Speaker 1: year in my opinion, given the opponent. You know, it
- 21:23Speaker 1: was okay, it was great against the Jags. It was
- 21:25Speaker 1: great against the Steelers, who were down with some guys
- 21:27Speaker 1: it was great against the Saints. Who are you know,
- 21:29Speaker 1: we're also down some guys, but you were facing the Packers,
- 21:32Speaker 1: one of the best teams in National Football League, one
- 21:34Speaker 1: of the best teams in the NFC, one of the
- 21:35Speaker 1: best offenses with Rogers and Lazard and DeVante Adams and
- 21:41Speaker 1: the guys to have over there, So great job defensively.
- 21:44Speaker 1: They seem to keep building on it. And next week, Bump,
- 21:46Speaker 1: the Cardinals come to town. The Seahawks need to win
- 21:49Speaker 1: in the worst way. I've been saying this from the jump.
- 21:52Speaker 1: I'm a little less confident that I was a couple
- 21:54Speaker 1: of weeks ago that I think in nine and eight
- 21:56Speaker 1: team will make the playoffs. But for the Seahoffs to
- 21:58Speaker 1: get to nine and eight, they gotta go. They gotta
- 22:01Speaker 1: go six and two the rest of the way, which
- 22:04Speaker 1: means you're gonna have to get one against the Cardinals
- 22:06Speaker 1: and maybe the Rams as well. So it's gonna be tough.
- 22:09Speaker 1: And the Cardinals are five and o on the road,
- 22:11Speaker 1: So this is a big one coming up here. Bump,
- 22:14Speaker 1: all right, the table is set. NAS told you what
- 22:18Speaker 1: these guys gotta do. A nine when team could sneak
- 22:23Speaker 1: into the playoffs, but it all starts this week as
- 22:26Speaker 1: a ARIZOLAA Cardinals come into town. All Right, it's been real.
- 22:30Speaker 1: Hawk Talk Recap edition. The Seahawks fall to the Packers
- 22:33Speaker 1: seventeen to zero at lambeau Field. Russell Wilson is back.
- 22:37Speaker 1: We hope he has another great week to prepare and
- 22:39Speaker 1: get healthy. We'll check the status of Chris Carson. Defense
- 22:42Speaker 1: is playing well. Offense time to catch up and do
- 22:44Speaker 1: what you do. It's been real. I'm Michael Bump because
- 22:47Speaker 1: he's NASA Shelby. We'll talk to you soon.
