- 0:48She's a happy girl.
- 1:03Sometimes it feels as if no one sees all of the good that you do.
- 1:07Sometimes you just feel like giving up. But rest assured, God sees all you do
- 1:12and will reward you far more than you can imagine for the good deeds that you do.
- 1:18Join us in this broadcast of Woman at the Well Ministries. as Kim leads us through
- 1:23the scriptures, finding words of encouragement for those in the midst of a labor of love. Hello.
- 1:30You know, we would be lying, I think, if we said that every hard task that God
- 1:35calls us to, we go openly and say, thank you, Lord, for it.
- 1:41That may be how we're supposed to be. And I hope I haven't disillusioned any
- 1:45of you by thinking that's how
- 1:47I am with everything because I've been called of God to teach his word.
- 1:50But the reality of it is, is that our sinful nature has a hard time sometimes
- 1:57with what God calls us to do.
- 1:59What is also true is that our nature wants to know the end, sometimes even before the beginning.
- 2:10But certainly, as we get just a little way on the journey, we'd like to see the end.
- 2:17And we're geared to want to be loved
- 2:20and we're geared to want people to
- 2:23appreciate us and some of us more than others are really geared that way and
- 2:29sometimes we find ourselves day in and day out doing what we think is a menial
- 2:35task doing what we sometimes think isn't noticed and.
- 2:42Yet, we have to keep doing it. And sometimes we just get so tired,
- 2:48down in the troughs of what he's called us to do, that we just start to wonder, what's the use?
- 2:58Many of the people that I'm speaking to right now, maybe you're caring for a sick loved one.
- 3:05Maybe you're having to carry the burden of a friend or a family member who's
- 3:11made incredible bad decisions.
- 3:14Maybe you find yourself in the midst of other people's problems as the shining
- 3:21light of God's love and mercy.
- 3:25And you've been doing it so long, perhaps without even any recognition or noticeability,
- 3:32that you forgot who you are.
- 3:37You are the child of the Most High God. He never sleeps, and he never slumbers.
- 3:43And he has said, you are the light of the world. You just so happen to be in
- 3:48a world maybe you don't want to be in.
- 3:51But rest assured, you're exactly where you're supposed to be if you're in the center of God's will.
- 3:58And that's where the blessings flow.
- 4:00And he hears, and he understands.
- 4:04I'd like, if you would please, to turn with me to Ephesians chapter 6, verses 7 and 8.
- 4:12And the word of God says this, With goodwill,
- 4:17doing service as to the Lord, and not to men, knowing that whatsoever good thing
- 4:25any man doeth, the same shall he receive of the Lord, whether he be bond or free.
- 4:32He says servants be obedient to them that your masters i want to just take a
- 4:38portion of that verse servants be obedient.
- 4:43We are servants of the Most High God. And he says that all things work together
- 4:48for the good to them that love the Lord, to them that are called according to his purpose.
- 4:52He never said that you would never have trouble.
- 4:57What he said was, cast your care upon me, for I care for you.
- 5:02He never said that you wouldn't be in a battle.
- 5:07What he told David was, the battle's not yours.
- 5:10It belongs to me. He never said that you wouldn't have to hunker down and be protected by him.
- 5:19He never said that you would not have troubles and trials.
- 5:26You see, Abraham had trouble.
- 5:30Noah had to hunker down in an ark, and it was the ark of safety,
- 5:34the ark of God's provision.
- 5:38Abraham had to trust God to send the lamb But he was willing to give his own son,
- 5:45Because he trusted in God You see, the paths of a righteous man Are directed by the Lord Friends,
- 5:54he never promised That you wouldn't have a problem What he said was I'll never
- 6:01leave you nor forsake you So whatever task he has set before you right now,
- 6:10friends, it's an assignment from God, handpicked.
- 6:17Filtered through his nail-scarred hands, especially created and delegated to you.
- 6:26You have the honor of being his light in that situation.
- 6:33And aren't you glad to know that he's not depending on you in your own strength
- 6:38and on your own mind and your own help to do it?
- 6:43He said you can do all
- 6:46things through whose strength my strength
- 6:49i want you if you would please just to turn over just a few
- 6:52pages to philippians chapter 4 and
- 6:56i want you to read the words in verse 13 he says i can do all things through
- 7:01christ which strengtheneth me it's an enabling grace it's christ's power it's
- 7:08christ's strength promised to you he wouldn't promise all of that.
- 7:12He wouldn't give all of that if you weren't ever going to need to use it.
- 7:17But you know what? We want all that stuff, but we don't ever want to have to use it.
- 7:22Just doesn't work that way.
- 7:25God loves you, and he has his eye upon you, and he cares about you,
- 7:34and he's given you some words of encouragement.
- 7:38If you would, please, in Galatians 6, 9, it's back a little bit.
- 7:43He says this, and let us not be weary in well-doing, for in due season we shall reap if we faint not.
- 7:54That task that you think is being unnoticed, God's watching,
- 8:00and he's looking at how you do it, and he's giving you the grace to get through it.
- 8:06And aren't you so glad that his grace is sufficient?
- 8:11And he's giving you the strength to endure.
- 8:15When it's all said and done and he's brought you through it and you're on the
- 8:19other side, you know what?
- 8:22You're going to wonder how in the world did I ever do that.
- 8:27And the truth of the matter is, is that you didn't do that. But you did it through him.
- 8:34Now, we're not wanting to advocate that you do everything because you think
- 8:38you're getting something back for him. Because that's not how it works.
- 8:42But we do do things because we love him.
- 8:47And he loves us so he rewards us when we do those very things and as a result of that.
- 8:56God allows us to honor
- 9:01him while we reap the blessings of
- 9:04him being with us oh how we love
- 9:07him and oh how he loves us and
- 9:11i want you to see that in second thessalonians 3 13 if you'll just turn there
- 9:16for me he repeats the same thing that he said in galatians 6 9 he knew how we
- 9:22were geared he knew how we were created he knew the kind of problems that we
- 9:27were going to have but even so.
- 9:31He still chose us and he says to us to keep us on the track he says again be not weary in well-doing,
- 9:43do all you're doing in his
- 9:46strength as we go back to ephesians chapter
- 9:496 and verse 7 he says
- 9:53with good will doing service as
- 9:57to the lord and not to men when we
- 10:00get our heart in such a
- 10:03place that we realize that we
- 10:06can be his hands extended his arms
- 10:09reaching out his feet that go we can be jesus in skin did you get that we can
- 10:21be the earthly manifestation of the loving gracious god.
- 10:28And when we begin to see that, in the book of Acts, it said that Jesus went
- 10:32around doing that which was good.
- 10:35He went around doing miracles all the time.
- 10:40He loved us. He never stopped.
- 10:44When he was weary, he went to the other side of the lake.
- 10:50And what did he do? He prayed.
- 10:54God is good. And God is gracious.
- 10:58He doesn't want to abuse us. We could work from the time the sun come up to
- 11:03the time the sun went down and it came back up again every day of our lives
- 11:07and not even scratch the surface to repay what he's done for us.
- 11:11That's not what he's asking.
- 11:13What he's asking is that we trust in him.
- 11:16We obey him. We love him and that we make ourselves ready to be available to
- 11:22give his love and his grace and his mercy to others.
- 11:25But when it becomes a hardship for us, our heart is in the wrong place And we
- 11:31need to tune it up by giving it to God God is so good And he's so gracious,
- 11:40But we just sometimes get tired Maybe the task that you're being caught on to
- 11:45do Keeps you from getting adequate sleep.
- 11:49Maybe it causes you not to be able to eat
- 11:52quite right and all of those things
- 11:54in the flesh will bring you down but you
- 11:58see god knew what it took to perform the task so he has readily available for
- 12:04you all that you need in order to accomplish it but sometimes we're spinning
- 12:12our wheels in our own light doing all the things that.
- 12:18Our own strength. All about me, me, me, me. Nobody cares. I don't even get a thank you.
- 12:25How much longer am I going to have to do this?
- 12:28Friends, where's the love of God in that?
- 12:31It is an honor to serve. And rest assured, he's watching and he's looking.
- 12:38And in Romans 14, 12, he says, so then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.
- 12:43And he said that blesses us and that we get trophies for our works.
- 12:48And on that day of judgment, all of our works will be tried.
- 12:53And only those things that we've done for Christ are going to last.
- 12:58Those are the only things that are going to matter.
- 13:02And then when it all goes away, my friends,
- 13:07you're going to see as he was watching that
- 13:11he was keeping score and you're going to see
- 13:13that you just can't out give god because in verse 8 he says knowing that whatsoever
- 13:22good thing any man doeth the same shall he receive of the lord he rewards you
- 13:30for your faithfulness and aren't you glad he's faithful.
- 13:34He rewards you for all
- 13:37the things he calls you to do and
- 13:40enables you to do it what a deal is that the god of the universe cares for you
- 13:47i would like for you if you would please to turn to isaiah chapter 43 and verse
- 13:532 when thou passest through the waters i will be with thee and through.
- 14:06Verse 3, For I am the Lord thy God, the Holy One of Israel, thy Savior.
- 14:17You hear that? He didn't say anything about there not being any water.
- 14:23He didn't say anything about the rivers not raging in your life.
- 14:26He didn't say anything about there not being any fire.
- 14:31What he said was, when you go through these things, you're going to pass through,
- 14:37and they're not going to overtake you, and you're not even going to be cinched.
- 14:43Don't you remember Meshach, Shadrach and Abednego in the fiery furnace.
- 14:49And they throw him in the furnace. They said, whoa, did we not throw three men into the furnace?
- 14:53And they said, yes, but I see the fourth man, like unto the son of God, walking in the fire.
- 15:00There were four men in the fire. And when it pulled the little boys out, they didn't even stink.
- 15:06No ashes, no smoke. We smell worse than that when we go out to eat for dinner.
- 15:12These guys were in the fiery furnace. The fourth man was in the fire.
- 15:16And all he's telling us in Isaiah 43, 2 is this.
- 15:20Listen, in this world, you're going to have trouble. Told us that the New Testament
- 15:25gave us that in a parable.
- 15:27And he says, but I'm never going to leave you nor forsake you.
- 15:32Hey, I'm going to strengthen you if you do it in my strength.
- 15:37And I'm going to supply all of your needs if you follow my way.
- 15:41And just listen, follow me
- 15:45I will take you through friends God
- 15:50is good he says don't be weary in
- 15:53well doing you see he said when you pass through the water this too shall pass
- 15:59he said you won't be burned because he said I am the Lord thy God the Holy One
- 16:09of Israel thy Savior you are.
- 16:14Trust in me. The Bible says that anything done without faith is a sin.
- 16:19He says that he's a rewarder of them that diligently seek him,
- 16:24but without faith it is impossible to please him.
- 16:27Friends, in the very place that you are right now, he is there. He's already there.
- 16:33And he's praying for you, we're told in John chapter 17. And he knows the things
- 16:39you have need of before you even ask, we are told.
- 16:43But he says cast your care on me let me
- 16:47supply what you need yes you are here
- 16:50and maybe you don't want to be there but this is
- 16:53best for you and this is what i've chosen for you because maybe somebody needs
- 16:57to see your light of me in that situation and i won't let you be harmed i won't
- 17:04let anything happen to you i won't let anything take you down because i am the lord thy God.
- 17:10I am your Savior.
- 17:13Trust me and believe.
- 17:17Mark chapter 9 and verse 23, he says, if thou canst believe,
- 17:20all things are possible to him that believeth.
- 17:25You may not understand why you have the sickness that you have right now.
- 17:31And you may not understand why people who are just sinful,
- 17:35derelict heathen people seem to be prospering and
- 17:39you seem to be struggling oh but friends there is a truth that god knows best
- 17:47there is a truth that you will pass through and he will see you through there's
- 17:52a truth that he'll never leave you there's a truth that you can cheer up for
- 17:56your redemption draweth nigh,
- 17:58and joy cometh in the morning, and God is faithful.
- 18:05Don't get to choose the things that cross your path, but you do get to choose the path you walk.
- 18:16You can walk alone with no hope and in darkness,
- 18:20or you can walk in the light of Jesus Christ with his grace and his mercy and
- 18:26his love and his provision to see you through, to pass you through the waters,
- 18:31to make sure the raging rivers of life don't overtake you, to walk you through
- 18:37the fire and never be burned.
- 18:40Because in Deuteronomy, he said, choose you this day.
- 18:44Will you do yes for God or no for Satan?
- 18:50Joshua said, choose you this day whom he will serve as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.
- 18:55Oh, my friends, sometimes life is tough.
- 19:00And sometimes you can get discouraged. And what a trick of the devil that is.
- 19:04And friends will let you down and family will let you down.
- 19:08And burdens will just roll. But burdens are lifted at Calvary.
- 19:13And the grace of God is sufficient.
- 19:17If you would, please, as we end our lesson, turn to Hebrews chapter 4.
- 19:22And when the things of life get on you and life seems so tough and the devil's
- 19:29beating on you, I want you to remember, you can say, get thee behind me,
- 19:31Satan. You resist the devil and the devil will flee.
- 19:34You start talking about Jesus and praising his name and the devil doesn't want
- 19:38to be there. He has no time for that junk. That's what he calls it.
- 19:42It's not junk. It's the only thing that'll last. It's the only thing that works.
- 19:47In Hebrews chapter 4, beginning in verse 14, he says, Seeing then that we have
- 19:51a great high priest that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God,
- 19:56let us hold fast our profession.
- 19:58For we have not a high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our
- 20:02infirmities, that was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.
- 20:07Let us therefore come boldly. You hear that?
- 20:11Let us come boldly. I can come in like a
- 20:13bull in a china shop and just come straight to the
- 20:16throne of God and I can have the confidence and the belief that he will hear.
- 20:20Me because the invitation is open because Jesus spread his arms and he invited
- 20:24me through him to come to the throne of God and to ask for help when I have
- 20:29need and to believe with all of my heart that help is on the way.
- 20:36That we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
- 20:42Whatever you're doing, Just keep doing it if it's the will of God.
- 20:47Even if the rest of the world doesn't think it makes sense. Even if the rest
- 20:50of the world thinks you're nuts.
- 20:52Even if you can't see any glory in it at all. Because let me tell you,
- 20:56you've got a front row seat for an amazing blessing.
- 20:59You're going to see the hand of God display himself like you've never seen it
- 21:03before. And you don't want to miss it with your head buried down.
- 21:06You look up for your redemption draweth nigh.
- 21:14Thank you.
