Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: Fly from Midtown Manhattan.
- 0:02Speaker 2: Here comes the Mark Simone.
- 0:04Speaker 3: Show on seven R.
- 0:09Speaker 4: Hey, another beautiful day to day. It's gonna be even
- 0:13Speaker 4: warmer today. We got a lot to get to. We'll
- 0:15Speaker 4: get to this, no King's stuff. We'll get to creepy,
- 0:19Speaker 4: dirty Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel. Excuse me, I apologize to
- 0:23Speaker 4: Jimmy Fallen. Nice guy, Jimmy Kimmel, disgusting, creepy guy. We'll
- 0:27Speaker 4: get to him. We'll get to Mom Donnie. We'll get
- 0:30Speaker 4: to Iran. We'll get to Cole Allen. We'll get to that.
- 0:35Speaker 4: Speaking of creepy, we'll get to that Doctor Fauci. Looks
- 0:39Speaker 4: like the walls of justice are closing in on him.
- 0:43Speaker 4: So the funniest thing was yesterday King Charles comes to Washington.
- 0:49Speaker 4: He meets the President at the White House. You saw
- 0:53Speaker 4: the pictures of them meeting. It was quite nice. The
- 0:56Speaker 4: first Lady, Milania Trump, then takes them on a tour
- 1:00Speaker 4: of the beehive at the White House. She's built this
- 1:03Speaker 4: beehive so they can produce their own honey, and the
- 1:07Speaker 4: beehives very cute. It looks like the White House. She
- 1:09Speaker 4: built it to look like the White house. They give
- 1:12Speaker 4: Prince Charles, King Charles, King Charles a tour of the beehive,
- 1:17Speaker 4: and people wonder, what does the king actually do? This
- 1:20Speaker 4: is what you do. Somebody leads you around, shows you
- 1:23Speaker 4: this beehive, and you have to pretend like you're interested,
- 1:26Speaker 4: like you find this fascinating, and you got to go, ah, oh,
- 1:30Speaker 4: I'm act excited about this now. Then this was the
- 1:34Speaker 4: funniest thing I ever saw. Then they all go to
- 1:38Speaker 4: the King and Camilla. Is she the queen? Yeah, she's
- 1:41Speaker 4: the queen. The King and Queen go to the British
- 1:45Speaker 4: embassy for a big Washington DC party, And it was
- 1:50Speaker 4: the silliest thing I've ever seen. It was Nancy Pelosi
- 1:54Speaker 4: and all the Democrats and Schumer, all the Democrats are
- 1:57Speaker 4: there greeting and slobbering all over King Charles. What happened
- 2:01Speaker 4: to that no king stuff? I guess you got over
- 2:05Speaker 4: that no kings thing. Here's an actual king. They're at
- 2:08Speaker 4: the reception. They went way out of their way to
- 2:11Speaker 4: be there to hug him, to shake his hand, to
- 2:13Speaker 4: tell them, how wonderfully what happened to your no king's stuff?
- 2:17Speaker 4: Here's an actual king, the real deal. Now he's coming
- 2:22Speaker 4: to Well, actually today he's going to address Congress. There'll
- 2:28Speaker 4: be a speech to Congress, and watch the Democrats. They'll
- 2:30Speaker 4: be nodding at what happened to you know, Kings Thing.
- 2:33Speaker 4: You're supposed to walk out, you're not supposed to be
- 2:36Speaker 4: there for this king. And then tonight is a big
- 2:39Speaker 4: state dinner at the White House, and you'll see all
- 2:44Speaker 4: the Democrats, all the top Democrats will be there for
- 2:46Speaker 4: the state dinner for the what happened to you know,
- 2:48Speaker 4: kings Thing and King Charles. You remember when he invited
- 2:54Speaker 4: President Trump over to England for a similar state dinner.
- 2:58Speaker 4: Remember the room that was in the It was in
- 3:00Speaker 4: this room in the Palace that looks so ornate, so grand.
- 3:05Speaker 4: It was the most impressive room ever. Now he's going
- 3:10Speaker 4: to come to a state dinner in this little tiny
- 3:12Speaker 4: East room in the White House that holds about twelve
- 3:14Speaker 4: people and isn't much of anything. This is why you
- 3:17Speaker 4: need the ballroom. You got to have the ballroom. It's
- 3:19Speaker 4: got to look and these world leaders when they come
- 3:22Speaker 4: here can't believe the chintzy little room they got at
- 3:26Speaker 4: the White House to have an affair in. And if
- 3:28Speaker 4: it's bigger, they got to go outside on a tent.
- 3:30Speaker 4: These world leaders all live in these incredible palaces, so
- 3:34Speaker 4: it's embarrassing. That's why you need a ballroom here, besides
- 3:37Speaker 4: the other reasons, the security reasons. Then tomorrow Wednesday, the
- 3:43Speaker 4: King comes to New York, where Mam Donnie will greet
- 3:48Speaker 4: him and Mam Donnie will be all over him. He's
- 3:51Speaker 4: going to take him to a nine to eleven sort
- 3:53Speaker 4: of an event. Mam Donnie will be so gracious and
- 3:57Speaker 4: wonderful with the King. What happened to you? Knowing thing?
- 4:03Speaker 4: Wasn't Mom Donnie one of those no kings people. He's
- 4:05Speaker 4: going to be all over, slobbering all over this king.
- 4:07Speaker 4: So you know, that's the reason we we have the
- 4:12Speaker 4: fourth of July. It's the two hundred and fiftieth birthday
- 4:15Speaker 4: of America. That's why we wanted to get rid of
- 4:18Speaker 4: the king. So we we revolted against the king and
- 4:22Speaker 4: broke away from the King. Actually there is a no
- 4:24Speaker 4: King's Day, It's called the fourth of July. So hey,
- 4:28Speaker 4: the other thing going on is Jimmy Kimmel. So everybody
- 4:32Speaker 4: feels that ABC has to fire the guy. First of all,
- 4:36Speaker 4: he's got just a few months left on the contract.
- 4:39Speaker 4: It's not even a contract, it's an extension of the
- 4:42Speaker 4: old contract. Second, the show loses money. It's expected to
- 4:49Speaker 4: lose about forty million this year. The show is a
- 4:51Speaker 4: total failure. It has a tiny audience. It's going to
- 4:55Speaker 4: lose forty million a year. Get rid of the thing.
- 4:59Speaker 4: You remember the They didn't like what Roseanne was tweeting
- 5:03Speaker 4: when she made her come back. She was tweeting a
- 5:05Speaker 4: pro Trump stuff. They said they didn't like her, and
- 5:08Speaker 4: ABC fired her even though her sitcom, which she had
- 5:11Speaker 4: brought back, was a big hit and was making twenty
- 5:14Speaker 4: million a year for the network. It was a hit,
- 5:16Speaker 4: making twenty million. This is a total ratings disaster, losing
- 5:20Speaker 4: forty million, and they haven't fired him. The guy made
- 5:23Speaker 4: a disgusting joke. Now. It was just before the assassination attempt.
- 5:28Speaker 4: He made a joke about Milania looks like an expectant widow.
- 5:32Speaker 4: In other words, your husband's going to be dead pretty soon.
- 5:34Speaker 4: Now that's an assassination joke. Although he claims not, He
- 5:40Speaker 4: repeated the joke again last night, claims it was a
- 5:43Speaker 4: joke about age.
- 5:44Speaker 2: I said, our first lady, Malani is here.
- 5:46Speaker 4: Look at her.
- 5:46Speaker 2: So beautiful missus Trump, you will have a glow like
- 5:49Speaker 2: an expectant widow.
- 5:51Speaker 4: Which.
- 5:54Speaker 2: Obviously was a joke about their age difference and the
- 5:58Speaker 2: look of joy we see on her face every time
- 6:00Speaker 2: they're together.
- 6:01Speaker 4: It was a very light roast joke about.
- 6:03Speaker 2: The fact that he's almost eighty and she's younger than
- 6:05Speaker 2: I am. It was not, by any stretch of the definition,
- 6:09Speaker 2: a call to assassination.
- 6:12Speaker 4: Yeah, it was her birth it was her birthday yesterday.
- 6:16Speaker 4: She's I think fifty seven, So that's a twenty two
- 6:20Speaker 4: year age difference. It's not that bad. It's not like
- 6:26Speaker 4: you know, an eighty year old with a twenty six
- 6:28Speaker 4: year old. I mean, it's not that big an age difference,
- 6:30Speaker 4: it seems. I guess you could claim that was what
- 6:34Speaker 4: he was. He could claim that's the point of the joke.
- 6:37Speaker 4: But I don't know if anybody's buying it. Will he
- 6:40Speaker 4: get fired? I don't know. This is up to Disney.
- 6:44Speaker 4: There's a new chairman of Disney, now we'll see. I mean,
- 6:48Speaker 4: I would take him off the air just because who
- 6:49Speaker 4: needs this, who needs this aggravation? And if they don't
- 6:53Speaker 4: fire him, you will only encourage him to do more
- 6:55Speaker 4: creepy disgusting jokes. And the problem there is you start
- 6:59Speaker 4: to lose a Philly's. And once you start losing the affiliates,
- 7:02Speaker 4: they got to take it off the air. The other thing,
- 7:04Speaker 4: and they know this is when they take them off
- 7:06Speaker 4: the air and put on a game show or something,
- 7:09Speaker 4: it will get triple the ratings. Literally, remember that time
- 7:13Speaker 4: they suspended them for a week. They put on reruns
- 7:16Speaker 4: of Password and it got triple the ratings. And it
- 7:20Speaker 4: costs nothing. You don't have to have a band, you
- 7:22Speaker 4: don't have to have a studio audience, you don't have
- 7:24Speaker 4: to have a theater and ushers. You just run reruns
- 7:27Speaker 4: and get triple the ratings. So the mentalist from the
- 7:30Speaker 4: White House cours bondings dinner Oz. It's not Oz, it's O's.
- 7:36Speaker 4: It looks like OZ to me, but it's Oh's Oh's Pearlman.
- 7:40Speaker 4: They begged them to come on Jimmy Kimmel's show and
- 7:43Speaker 4: he refused. He will not do it. Good for him.
- 7:47Speaker 4: And again, if the guy is such a mentalist, how
- 7:50Speaker 4: come he had no idea what was going to happen
- 7:54Speaker 4: Saturday night. In fact, you see him up on the
- 7:56Speaker 4: dais bothering President Trump showing him some card trick or
- 7:59Speaker 4: some and some little trick, and Melani is pretending to
- 8:03Speaker 4: be interested in the president is rolling his eyes. But
- 8:07Speaker 4: this is like one second before the gunshots. If this
- 8:11Speaker 4: guy is such a mentalist, he doesn't know that in
- 8:14Speaker 4: one second there's going to be four gunshots. I don't know.
- 8:18Speaker 4: George Clooney getting a little flat. George Clooney weighed in
- 8:21Speaker 4: on the Jimmy Gimmel joke and defending it. What a surprise.
- 8:29Speaker 4: A lot of people making fun of him on Twitter,
- 8:32Speaker 4: saying things like, whenever there's an attempt at assassination on
- 8:35Speaker 4: the president, you really need George Clooney to weigh in
- 8:38Speaker 4: on it. But now, as far as the assassin, it's
- 8:43Speaker 4: Cole Allen, not to be confused with Cale Allen, who's
- 8:48Speaker 4: the longtime editor of the New York Post, but Cole Allen.
- 8:52Speaker 4: But as soon as you fire those shots, you immediately
- 8:54Speaker 4: get referred to by all three names. So it's Cole
- 8:58Speaker 4: Thomas Allen as in Lee Harvey Oswald, is in James
- 9:02Speaker 4: Earl Ray assassin's three names. And he was in court
- 9:08Speaker 4: yesterday for the first time. At the hearing, he was
- 9:11Speaker 4: quite defiant. He answered the judges question confidently, very loudly too.
- 9:17Speaker 4: It's very loud confident. They hit him with all sorts
- 9:21Speaker 4: of charges. They're gonna hit him with more charges. They
- 9:25Speaker 4: started with transportation of a firearm across state lines. He
- 9:29Speaker 4: took the train from California. Instead of a five hour flight,
- 9:32Speaker 4: he took all like a five day train, right. Another
- 9:34Speaker 4: reason for that is there's no TSA. When you take
- 9:37Speaker 4: a train, they don't check your luggage. If you're gonna
- 9:40Speaker 4: smuggle a gun or a bunch of guns, you got
- 9:43Speaker 4: to take the train. So that's the reason for that.
- 9:47Speaker 4: He's going to get charged with that. He's gonna get
- 9:50Speaker 4: charged with that's a felony right there. Taking the firearms
- 9:53Speaker 4: across state lines, discharging a gun, they'll be all sorts
- 9:56Speaker 4: of charges. They'll charge them with attempted assassination of the president. Now,
- 10:05Speaker 4: the problem is Alan Dershowitz, the Great Attorney, argues that
- 10:11Speaker 4: you can go into court and argue that the crime
- 10:13Speaker 4: you're being accused of would be impossible to commit. And
- 10:17Speaker 4: he thinks that would be what the lawyer would do
- 10:19Speaker 4: in this case, that there was so much security that
- 10:22Speaker 4: you could get through the first layer and you could
- 10:24Speaker 4: shoot somebody in the second layer, a secret serviceman. But
- 10:27Speaker 4: there's too many layers. You could never actually get to
- 10:29Speaker 4: the ballroom. So you can argue the crime of assassination
- 10:34Speaker 4: was impossible, and the Dershowitz points out there have been
- 10:38Speaker 4: cases and in some states, if you can prove it's impossible,
- 10:41Speaker 4: the charge gets dropped. Dershowitz said he even had a
- 10:44Speaker 4: case once where he argued that it was impossible to
- 10:46Speaker 4: do it and got the charge dropped. But no matter what,
- 10:51Speaker 4: he shot the secret service agent with intent to murder him,
- 10:54Speaker 4: so they got him on that. Now, though, always tell you,
- 11:00Speaker 4: you know, you always hear, well, if you're charge of
- 11:02Speaker 4: presidential assassination, you'll never get out of jail. That's not true.
- 11:06Speaker 4: There's a lot of presidential assassins walking around free right now.
- 11:10Speaker 4: John Hinckley is not long is he walking around free?
- 11:14Speaker 4: He's like a singer with a guitar appearing in clubs.
- 11:17Speaker 4: The two Gerald Ford assassins are out walking around squeaky
- 11:23Speaker 4: from who's the other one? The other one at three names,
- 11:27Speaker 4: Sarah Jane Moore. Sarah Jane Moore was the other one.
- 11:29Speaker 4: So there there's three presidential assassins that are out and
- 11:33Speaker 4: about walking walking around. So we'll see his next court
- 11:39Speaker 4: appearance is about bail. That'll be on Thursday. Gets a
- 11:42Speaker 4: bail hearing on Thursday. I can't see anyway on earth
- 11:46Speaker 4: he gets bail. That's hard to even even picture. So
- 11:52Speaker 4: now the thing is, will they tone down the rhetoric. No,
- 11:56Speaker 4: because they can't even acknowledge the problem. Democrats can't even
- 12:00Speaker 4: admit to it. But here's the guy who founded the
- 12:04Speaker 4: Lincoln Project. Remember the guy that founded the awful, stupid,
- 12:08Speaker 4: anti American, creepy, weird Lincoln Project. This is the founder.
- 12:11Speaker 4: Listen to the kind of things he was saying about Trump.
- 12:13Speaker 3: We know that Donald Trump is an existential threat through
- 12:16Speaker 3: our democracy and our nation and.
- 12:19Speaker 4: We have to stop him. Yeah, and then you got
- 12:22Speaker 4: I played to the montage yesterday talking about go punch
- 12:25Speaker 4: him in the face. Hakeem Jeffrey said, we have to
- 12:28Speaker 4: go to full all out warfare. Warfare means shooting, means guns.
- 12:32Speaker 4: That's what warfare means. Jeffries will not admit to that.
- 12:37Speaker 5: We embrace the fact that everybody should take the temperature down.
- 12:40Speaker 5: We're just not going to be lectures by extremists on
- 12:43Speaker 5: the other side of the aisle who are looking directly
- 12:46Speaker 5: at the camera and then.
- 12:47Speaker 4: Lying, yeah, it's funny though, how they I mean, they're
- 12:51Speaker 4: all distorted, And you're an extremist, you mega people. You're
- 12:56Speaker 4: an extremist because you want secure border, you want lower
- 12:59Speaker 4: tax is, you want no men in the women's locker room.
- 13:05Speaker 4: You're an extremist. So these Democrats in their own head,
- 13:09Speaker 4: they have no idea that they're the most extreme radicals
- 13:12Speaker 4: ever with their rhetoric. Hakeem Jeffrey is a perfect example.
- 13:16Speaker 5: As it relates to anything that has been said, certainly
- 13:19Speaker 5: as it relates to the comment related to maximum warfare everywhere,
- 13:26Speaker 5: all the time in connection with the redistricting battle that
- 13:30Speaker 5: Republicans launched. I stand by it. You can continue to
- 13:35Speaker 5: criticize me for it. I don't give a damn about
- 13:38Speaker 5: your criticism.
- 13:43Speaker 4: That's why the midterms are important. You realize this guy
- 13:45Speaker 4: could be Speaker of the House. Speaker of the House.
- 13:49Speaker 4: Can you imagine you'll have an impeachment twice a day
- 13:52Speaker 4: to impeachment? Today will be going on with this guy,
- 13:55Speaker 4: so very very important. So I'm Donnie will greet the
- 13:58Speaker 4: King tomorrow?
- 14:00Speaker 6: Is this?
- 14:01Speaker 4: Yeah, here's mom, Donnie.
- 14:02Speaker 3: What we saw at the Press Correspondence Center is one
- 14:05Speaker 3: part of a very troubling reality across this country, which
- 14:09Speaker 3: is how political violence has become part of our politics.
- 14:12Speaker 3: And it is something that we are taking into consideration
- 14:16Speaker 3: whenever we are planning anything in our city. And I'm
- 14:18Speaker 3: fully confident in our city and in our police department
- 14:21Speaker 3: to keep New Yorker safe over the course of that.
- 14:23Speaker 4: Now, he really didn't say anything, but it's a good
- 14:26Speaker 4: trick if you might want to practice this, if you
- 14:28Speaker 4: got to go to a job interview or you're trying
- 14:30Speaker 4: to impress somebody. He had nothing to say. Just talk
- 14:33Speaker 4: a little faster like this. And if you can talk
- 14:35Speaker 4: like him and talk very fast, it makes you sound
- 14:36Speaker 4: much smarter than you actually are, because somebody listening to
- 14:38Speaker 4: you say, well, must be very smart. How could he
- 14:40Speaker 4: talk that fast and think that fast? And even though
- 14:42Speaker 4: you didn't say anything, you said absolutely nothing of any interest.
- 14:45Speaker 4: You're talking so fast. Try it. It works. Anyway, We've
- 14:49Speaker 4: got a lot to get to today. We'll take some calls.
- 14:52Speaker 4: Next eight hundred three two one zero seven to ten
- 14:56Speaker 4: is the number eight hundred three two one zero SI.
- 15:01Speaker 4: Now back to the Mark Simone Show on.
- 15:03Speaker 6: W r.
- 15:06Speaker 4: Hey, let's take some calls. Let's go to uh Mara
- 15:09Speaker 4: in Nevada, Mara, How you doing?
- 15:12Speaker 1: Mark?
- 15:12Speaker 4: So good?
- 15:13Speaker 7: I'm talking to you child, Vincent. Mark Trump is not
- 15:17Speaker 7: good at this. He's not a good dictator. Cause if
- 15:20Speaker 7: he was, the keyotine would be dusted up and shopping
- 15:24Speaker 7: and heads would be lopped off. Rest less than right.
- 15:27Speaker 7: He is not a good dictator. The first ones would
- 15:30Speaker 7: be Congress. Everyone called.
- 15:33Speaker 4: That's a good point you got to remember, though. I
- 15:35Speaker 4: think if you cut off the head of Hakim Jeffries,
- 15:38Speaker 4: I don't think it'd affect him that much. There's not
- 15:41Speaker 4: much between the ears up there. Let's go to uh
- 15:43Speaker 4: Rich in Myrtle Beach Rich. How you doing?
- 15:47Speaker 6: Mean?
- 15:47Speaker 1: Thanks?
- 15:47Speaker 2: Mark.
- 15:47Speaker 8: I tried call the Disney. I tried calling the WABC
- 15:50Speaker 8: to complain about Kimmel. You can't leave any messages. The
- 15:54Speaker 8: boxes are all full. They must be getting thousands of them.
- 15:56Speaker 8: But you know, if they had any guts to go
- 15:58Speaker 8: ahead and do it and just send the mess.
- 16:00Speaker 4: Maybe he had to break it to you. It's now
- 16:02Speaker 4: twenty twenty six. I don't think he can call anybody anywhere.
- 16:05Speaker 4: You got an email, you can't call.
- 16:07Speaker 8: Now you can call him because they have a dedicated
- 16:09Speaker 8: phone line.
- 16:10Speaker 4: You know, but there's nobody checks it, nobody listens to it.
- 16:13Speaker 6: You know.
- 16:14Speaker 4: Here at iHeart, which is we're massive here, We're like
- 16:17Speaker 4: ten floors of this big skyscraper. We don't even have
- 16:20Speaker 4: a receptionist. You don't need it anywhere. Nobody calls here anymore.
- 16:26Speaker 4: Everything that's everything's email.
- 16:29Speaker 8: But I hope he's gone here putty soon and I
- 16:30Speaker 8: would actually send a message to the rest of him.
- 16:33Speaker 8: But I don't think Disney or ABC has the backbone
- 16:36Speaker 8: to do it. I mean, they're going to wait him out.
- 16:38Speaker 8: He's got a couple of months left and that'll be it.
- 16:40Speaker 8: But you know what, they really should step up and
- 16:42Speaker 8: grow up. PI.
- 16:43Speaker 4: Yeah, I agree. Well, see there's a new chairman of Disney,
- 16:46Speaker 4: taken over from Bob Iger. We'll see what he does.
- 16:48Speaker 4: Let's go to Mike and Florida. Mike, how you doing,
- 16:52Speaker 4: Good morning, Mark, that's Mike.
- 16:54Speaker 9: I've always said I'd be okay with these jokes if
- 16:57Speaker 9: the door swang both ways, you know, I mean years
- 17:00Speaker 9: of Obama, four years of Biden and all these genius
- 17:03Speaker 9: comedians couldn't find one single thing to joke about with
- 17:06Speaker 9: those two guys for just as for instance, you know,
- 17:10Speaker 9: and it speaks to your point about toning down the rhetoric.
- 17:13Speaker 9: You're the only one who are going to turn down
- 17:15Speaker 9: the rhetoric like it can be the conservatives or the
- 17:17Speaker 9: right or Republicans. The Democrats are fought to glib. They
- 17:21Speaker 9: know how to play that. There's much more savvy. They
- 17:24Speaker 9: know how to use the language. You watch a Keem Jeffries.
- 17:28Speaker 9: You know he's not saying anything, but boy, he's delivering
- 17:31Speaker 9: it like a you know, like I'll lead punching you know,
- 17:33Speaker 9: a punching bag.
- 17:35Speaker 4: He's a nasty looking guy. Well, a good point, Mike,
- 17:37Speaker 4: excellent point that you know. Kimmel Is first comment about
- 17:41Speaker 4: what he said was well, it's just a it's an
- 17:43Speaker 4: old roast joke. Yeah, they did do jokes like that
- 17:46Speaker 4: at roast about you look like an future widow making
- 17:49Speaker 4: fun of the guys. It's it's an old roastter But
- 17:51Speaker 4: the thing about the roast, and it was the way
- 17:54Speaker 4: you always did every roast. You'd go down the line
- 17:56Speaker 4: and do a jokes about everybody. You didn't just pick
- 17:58Speaker 4: one guy and just do him. And you got a
- 18:01Speaker 4: good point there, Mike. It'd be different if you were
- 18:03Speaker 4: attacking both sides. For instance, nobody promoted Eric Swalwell more
- 18:08Speaker 4: than Jimmy Kimmel on his show, and the same thing
- 18:12Speaker 4: with the Stephen Colbert and Jimmy fallon Well. Now, once
- 18:16Speaker 4: the Swellwell scandal breaks, these two since that happened a
- 18:20Speaker 4: couple weeks so haven't said a word, haven't made a
- 18:22Speaker 4: single joke about him. You're right, it's just one sided.
- 18:25Speaker 4: It's ridiculous. Go to Pat in Scarsdale, Pat, how you doing? Hey?
- 18:29Speaker 6: Mark, thanks for taking my call.
- 18:30Speaker 8: Actually, two thoughts come to my mind.
- 18:33Speaker 4: First, when I listened to Mike Goodman Michael Goodman, I've
- 18:37Speaker 4: never heard him called Mike Goodman Michael. It doesn't seem
- 18:41Speaker 4: to have that spunk in his voice.
- 18:42Speaker 8: Is his health a little under the weather?
- 18:45Speaker 4: H I y had a couple of health problems, but
- 18:46Speaker 4: he's much much better in recovering. Stop picking an oh guy,
- 18:49Speaker 4: he's uh yeah, he's still a little raspy, little throat
- 18:52Speaker 4: thing going on, but it's much better. Sounds much better. Now,
- 18:56Speaker 4: Let's go to Jim in Long Island. Jim, how you doing?
- 19:00Speaker 1: I Mark, I want to speak about Maya mon DOMMI
- 19:04Speaker 1: you play a clip about him bringing down the temperature.
- 19:08Speaker 1: He singled out a rich man, but it's hogged on
- 19:12Speaker 1: his back, gave his name, his location, where he is,
- 19:16Speaker 1: and then some crazy street animal nine.
- 19:19Speaker 4: What are you're saying, he's a hypocrite? No, I can't
- 19:22Speaker 4: picture that the mom, Donnie, I know, No, never a hypocrite.
- 19:26Speaker 4: Good point. Yeah, it's the hypocrisy democrats are famous for.
- 19:33Speaker 4: He does things that are so outrageous, but you have
- 19:36Speaker 4: the most biased fake news protecting him. He actually singled
- 19:41Speaker 4: out targeted an individual happened to be a wealthy guy.
- 19:44Speaker 4: Ken Griffin filmed a video outside of his apartment, pointing
- 19:48Speaker 4: out his apartment in his address, saying, hey, right there,
- 19:50Speaker 4: this is where he lives. You imagine a mayor doing
- 19:53Speaker 4: that to a private citizen. Imagine somebody him. Let's as
- 19:57Speaker 4: they went to his father and mother and father's house
- 20:00Speaker 4: and did the video and pointed, here's where they live,
- 20:03Speaker 4: here's their address. You can't do that to people. Absolutely disgusting. Now,
- 20:07Speaker 4: Ken Griffin very very wealthy guy's worth about fifty billion,
- 20:12Speaker 4: major player in New York. He was about to build
- 20:15Speaker 4: a six billion dollars skyscraper Park Avenue in fifty second,
- 20:21Speaker 4: it would create six thousand construction jobs. Over the next
- 20:24Speaker 4: five years, it would create fifteen thousand permanent jobs. Now
- 20:28Speaker 4: he's saying, you know what, I might not build this.
- 20:31Speaker 4: I might have to put move it out of New York.
- 20:33Speaker 4: I can't deal with this, Mayor. That's the problem. When
- 20:36Speaker 4: you're mayor and a guy's going to do a project
- 20:38Speaker 4: like that, you're supposed to call them and you're supposed
- 20:41Speaker 4: to say, I'd love to meet with you, let me
- 20:43Speaker 4: see how I can help you. We're so grateful you're
- 20:46Speaker 4: going to create these jobs, put this building here, help
- 20:49Speaker 4: our economy. What can we do to help? That's what
- 20:51Speaker 4: you're supposed to do. Let's go to Chris in West Hampton. Chris,
- 20:54Speaker 4: how you doing?
- 20:55Speaker 6: Good morning?
- 20:56Speaker 8: What I'm not being a panic and I have a question.
- 20:59Speaker 9: Have you heard anything about the merger between iHeart and Serious?
- 21:03Speaker 4: Of course I work here.
- 21:05Speaker 8: Well, okay, so it's true.
- 21:06Speaker 4: Well I mean, well, nothing's true. Well, because nothing's true yet.
- 21:10Speaker 4: There a couple of people have tried to bring the
- 21:13Speaker 4: Serious to merge with iHeart and that I guess they're
- 21:18Speaker 4: talking about it. It possible talks about merging iHeart and
- 21:23Speaker 4: Serious At this point it's just talk. iHeart is the
- 21:27Speaker 4: biggest audio company in the world.
- 21:31Speaker 8: Right, that's what I mean.
- 21:32Speaker 4: They're more serious for they really don't. But I think
- 21:36Speaker 4: the idea is it just you can scale even you know,
- 21:40Speaker 4: that's a big thing in business. Now, try to see
- 21:41Speaker 4: how much you can scale up, so you could probably
- 21:44Speaker 4: scale the company up even more. See one of the
- 21:46Speaker 4: problems you have when you're the biggest audio company in
- 21:48Speaker 4: the world, biggest podcast, biggest, When you're number one, it
- 21:51Speaker 4: gets really tough to grow it anymore. So that's when
- 21:54Speaker 4: you do mergers. You see that all the time with
- 21:57Speaker 4: a business it's absolutely number one, totally dominant. But when
- 22:00Speaker 4: you're the business for the shareholder, you're supposed to grow
- 22:03Speaker 4: it every year, so it gets tough. The bigger you are,
- 22:06Speaker 4: the tougher it is to grow the thing. So it's
- 22:08Speaker 4: just talks at this point. We'll keep you posted if
- 22:11Speaker 4: we know anything. Bob Pittman, great chairman, brilliant guy of iHeart,
- 22:16Speaker 4: yesterday put out a whole long memo about don't believe
- 22:20Speaker 4: all the press reports, but it's just in the talking stages.
- 22:25Speaker 4: But this is in his memo. This is pretty interesting.
- 22:30Speaker 4: iHeart is the most listened to Audio Provider in every
- 22:33Speaker 4: single age group in the US, the number one broadcast
- 22:36Speaker 4: radio company in America. Iheart's, the number one podcast company
- 22:40Speaker 4: in America, the number one digital radio service, and the
- 22:44Speaker 4: iHeart app is the most listen to, number one app
- 22:48Speaker 4: in the world. Iheart's number one in live music events,
- 22:53Speaker 4: has the number one biggest social footprint of any audio company.
- 22:59Speaker 4: You can go on and on with the other interesting
- 23:01Speaker 4: thing and people might not realize this. More people listen
- 23:05Speaker 4: to the radio now than ten years ago, and more
- 23:09Speaker 4: people listen to the radio now more than twenty years ago.
- 23:12Speaker 4: Radio listening has actually grown. Hey, when we come back,
- 23:15Speaker 4: we'll talk to Ed Rollins, the Dean himself. Now he
- 23:19Speaker 4: was there with Reagan in the White House when that
- 23:21Speaker 4: assassination attempt happened, and we'll talk to him about what
- 23:26Speaker 4: they went through there in the mid terms, and a
- 23:28Speaker 4: whole lot more coming up on seven to ten WR.
- 23:32Speaker 4: Here's more marks alone on seven ten WR. Well, let's
- 23:37Speaker 4: talk to the Dean himself, Ed Rollins. Nobody has been
- 23:41Speaker 4: in more White Houses, run more campaigns, is running some
- 23:44Speaker 4: of the most successful campaigns ever, and it's great to
- 23:47Speaker 4: have him back with us. Ed rollins, How you doing
- 23:50Speaker 4: doing well?
- 23:50Speaker 6: Thank you morning. Thank goodness, nothing happens to the president
- 23:53Speaker 6: or in the White House staff and senior cabinet disaster.
- 23:59Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 23:59Speaker 4: Now you were there with Ronald Reagan in his White House.
- 24:02Speaker 4: Do you remember what a bad assassination attempt? How did
- 24:04Speaker 4: that change things?
- 24:06Speaker 6: Well, it was thirty days in and it was very dramatic.
- 24:09Speaker 6: H and you know the president was wounded a lot
- 24:13Speaker 6: worse than the public knew. You know, he was in
- 24:15Speaker 6: a rush to get back to the White House. But
- 24:19Speaker 6: you remember several weeks later he got up and he
- 24:21Speaker 6: addressed the Congress and asked for his legislative program and
- 24:26Speaker 6: done it all passed, and I certainly had an impact
- 24:28Speaker 6: on it. So, but you know, there's there's too much
- 24:32Speaker 6: hostility out there, and obviously that these big events attract
- 24:37Speaker 6: some bad people. Yeah, but thank thank goodness, but no
- 24:40Speaker 6: one but hurt.
- 24:42Speaker 4: Yeah. You know, every time we see an assassination attempt,
- 24:45Speaker 4: we realize how bad the security was. Obviously with Kennedy
- 24:48Speaker 4: and then the idea of Reagan they would just walk
- 24:50Speaker 4: him outside in front of all those people.
- 24:53Speaker 6: Well, it's it's it's it's a learning process. You know,
- 24:55Speaker 6: you have to be in a mindset secreturs does this
- 24:59Speaker 6: good obviously can do I think obviously the outdoor thing,
- 25:03Speaker 6: the Butler event, there were lots of mistakes, but this
- 25:05Speaker 6: one the other night, they function well. The event, it's
- 25:08Speaker 6: itself being held in the hotel it has been for many,
- 25:11Speaker 6: many years. It's a zoo. You've done them. There's twenty
- 25:15Speaker 6: five hundred people. It's uh, you know, there's a lot
- 25:17Speaker 6: of wondering around a lot of a lot. And I
- 25:19Speaker 6: think we were very lucky that that the attempt was
- 25:22Speaker 6: done by an amateur who obviously didn't to succeed. But
- 25:26Speaker 6: the fact that people out there want to take shots
- 25:28Speaker 6: that presidents theres are bad, bad scenes gone on as presidence.
- 25:32Speaker 4: But you know, yeah, I guess you're right. We just
- 25:35Speaker 4: don't realize things like we've all been to this White
- 25:37Speaker 4: House correspondence dinner a million times. Never occurred to anybody.
- 25:40Speaker 4: How can you have it in a hotel that's open
- 25:42Speaker 4: with a thousand strangers standing right upstairs. It's going to
- 25:45Speaker 4: have to move that right somewhere else from now on.
- 25:48Speaker 6: Well, I think they do, and I you know, I
- 25:51Speaker 6: don't think it's the selling point for the the new
- 25:56Speaker 6: convention center that the resid wants the way use with
- 25:59Speaker 6: the You know, I think the key thing here is
- 26:04Speaker 6: the closest thing. We're both focused on this election. When
- 26:06Speaker 6: he gets through this is with the king and what
- 26:09Speaker 6: have you. He's got to get focused on the election.
- 26:12Speaker 6: Right now, we're not in good shape in the House
- 26:14Speaker 6: and certainly they sent us down play and he's got
- 26:17Speaker 6: to focus it the best. The dantagy he has, he's
- 26:21Speaker 6: raised a ton of money and super packs and what
- 26:24Speaker 6: have you. We won't be outspent, and we certainly have
- 26:27Speaker 6: twenty five or thirty seats we have to defend. But
- 26:30Speaker 6: that's that's the key. Then they've got the same number.
- 26:34Speaker 6: We've just got to get in there and make sure
- 26:36Speaker 6: we win. These faces.
- 26:37Speaker 4: So when Democrats yell no, kings, he's a dictator, he's
- 26:40Speaker 4: a Nazi, he's a criminal, he's a does that really
- 26:42Speaker 4: work on independent photos? Does that really persuade him?
- 26:46Speaker 6: No? No, it doesn't. You know, at the end of
- 26:48Speaker 6: the day, it energizes their base and they've had gigantic turnoffs,
- 26:52Speaker 6: which often happens in the midterms. The critical thing here
- 26:56Speaker 6: is the message has to be that we hear you,
- 27:00Speaker 6: what's going on with the country. We need to get
- 27:01Speaker 6: these oil prices down. We need to get overall prices down.
- 27:05Speaker 6: And you know, hanging with us, we'll get it done.
- 27:08Speaker 6: But you can't be fighting among the Congress. You can't
- 27:10Speaker 6: be having you know, they can't be going home every
- 27:12Speaker 6: other week for a period of time. They kind of
- 27:15Speaker 6: got to be there and work and get the things
- 27:17Speaker 6: done the president wants. The president needs to sit down
- 27:20Speaker 6: with the leadership and say, all right, what are the
- 27:21Speaker 6: four or five things we got to get done by November.
- 27:24Speaker 6: What we're gonna run on and get it, get a
- 27:26Speaker 6: consistent message to the consistent strategy, and go out and
- 27:29Speaker 6: spend millions dollars they have on those things and target
- 27:33Speaker 6: those traces carefully. And there's going to be some members
- 27:36Speaker 6: who can't get redeemed. They're going to lose and you've
- 27:39Speaker 6: got to write them off. And those that are marginal,
- 27:41Speaker 6: you've got to make sure they win.
- 27:43Speaker 4: Yeah, Now, Ed Rollins, you worked around the greatest people
- 27:46Speaker 4: in Congress. They used to be Statesman Tip O'Neil and
- 27:49Speaker 4: Bob Dole and these these great figures. Now you have
- 27:53Speaker 4: to see these low iq Hakeem Jeffreys types. What happened?
- 27:58Speaker 6: What change I'll play that story. I've been around the
- 28:02Speaker 6: game for fifty years. I ran a congressional committee. The
- 28:04Speaker 6: people who say to me, why don't you run for Congress,
- 28:06Speaker 6: I said, I wouldn't run for Congress, and you'd pay
- 28:07Speaker 6: me two million dollars a year committed and to go
- 28:09Speaker 6: to work. It's a tough, hard job. And I think
- 28:13Speaker 6: to a certain extent, a lot of the giants in
- 28:15Speaker 6: the past have decided that's not why they want to
- 28:17Speaker 6: spend a year of their time. Who who would want
- 28:20Speaker 6: to basically be a congressman today and go up there
- 28:22Speaker 6: and fight every day and and you know, you don't
- 28:25Speaker 6: have the power that you once had, you don't have
- 28:27Speaker 6: the excitement, You're not very important back in the district.
- 28:31Speaker 6: So I think the key thing here is you got
- 28:33Speaker 6: to recruit good candidates. And that's getting pretty close to
- 28:36Speaker 6: the finish line here. And you've got to basically make
- 28:38Speaker 6: sure that the standings or something and the things you
- 28:41Speaker 6: got to stand for is what the people are most
- 28:42Speaker 6: concerned about. That's the high price of oil and foods
- 28:46Speaker 6: and what have you. Those those kind of been issues
- 28:48Speaker 6: and who can do it better? And if I was
- 28:50Speaker 6: running his campaigns because I'm not. I get every single
- 28:53Speaker 6: one of these Democrat potential chairman or chairman, and I
- 28:55Speaker 6: would run against them. I'd run against the leadership of
- 28:58Speaker 6: the Democrats. I'd say, do you want these guys to
- 29:00Speaker 6: basically guide you one of these tough times or do
- 29:02Speaker 6: you want the team that can step up?
- 29:05Speaker 4: Yeah? Now, ros let me ask you this is a
- 29:07Speaker 4: good question. You worked with the greats, the Reagans, and
- 29:10Speaker 4: you know those types, and they were very formal politicians,
- 29:14Speaker 4: and they would speak formally, and it would never you
- 29:17Speaker 4: would never think that a president would just call somebody
- 29:20Speaker 4: names or just talk like he's in a locker room
- 29:22Speaker 4: or but it's a very real way to talk. It's
- 29:27Speaker 4: pretty effective. But is this what's caused all the trouble
- 29:29Speaker 4: with the news fake news going crazy that he's so boorant?
- 29:33Speaker 8: Think?
- 29:33Speaker 6: So, yeah, I mean to me, I would ignore the
- 29:37Speaker 6: news media. They're going to do what they're going to
- 29:39Speaker 6: do and you're not going to change them any And
- 29:41Speaker 6: at the end of the day, if you're going to
- 29:43Speaker 6: call somebody out to do it in private, you know,
- 29:46Speaker 6: presidents will send his team up, which I was a
- 29:48Speaker 6: political character, I'd you up and I'd say to someone
- 29:51Speaker 6: you know, you want a bad amount, the President are
- 29:53Speaker 6: going to come after you. We're going to basically not
- 29:54Speaker 6: get any fundraisers. We're going to basically look at all
- 29:57Speaker 6: the congressional appropriations you have and if you're not going
- 30:00Speaker 6: to be part of the team, you're not gonna get
- 30:01Speaker 6: any of the resources.
- 30:03Speaker 4: Yeah. But the most outrageous, the most outrageous, Yeah, the
- 30:08Speaker 4: most outrageous things. President Trump has said the worst things
- 30:11Speaker 4: you ever said in public. You will testify that every
- 30:14Speaker 4: other president said the same exact stuff, only they would
- 30:17Speaker 4: do it in private. Once you got.
- 30:18Speaker 6: They're doing in private, they do it in private. And
- 30:21Speaker 6: I think that's the key thing. He and you know,
- 30:24Speaker 6: he doesn't sleep well whatever. He's up at two o'clock
- 30:28Speaker 6: in the morning writing thinking. You know, I'm a little
- 30:32Speaker 6: bit older than him, and his stamina is amazing to me.
- 30:38Speaker 6: But the punch A lot of times there's times he stroked,
- 30:43Speaker 6: you know, a punch, and you take care of your
- 30:45Speaker 6: own and you know, you got you got a bunch
- 30:47Speaker 6: of people speaking for themselves. And I think that I
- 30:49Speaker 6: think the Congress itself, the leadership of the Congress itself
- 30:53Speaker 6: is basically by going home, by not doing a job
- 30:57Speaker 6: has given Democrats more of openings.
- 30:59Speaker 4: Of the shoul Yeah, hey so, Ed Rollins. There's a
- 31:02Speaker 4: lot of young Democrats they've been indoctrinated in these universities
- 31:06Speaker 4: that become communists, socialists. There's so many of them. They've
- 31:09Speaker 4: gone so far to the left. It's forcing Chuck Schumer,
- 31:12Speaker 4: Nancy Pelosi to all act like they're that kooky left wing.
- 31:16Speaker 4: How that's never going to change, is it?
- 31:17Speaker 6: How are you going to get back to north It's
- 31:19Speaker 6: not going to change. You know, it will become more
- 31:23Speaker 6: of a personality. You're driven, uh, than than we are philosophy,
- 31:27Speaker 6: I mean everything. The Democrats have to have something. What
- 31:30Speaker 6: they have right now is they have a president and
- 31:32Speaker 6: his partner is basically not addressing the issues these sour
- 31:36Speaker 6: as the country's concerned. You look at the polls, and
- 31:38Speaker 6: you've got to address those issues. I say, here's what
- 31:41Speaker 6: we're going to do. We're going to basically the next
- 31:42Speaker 6: ninety days, one hundred and twenty days, we're going to
- 31:45Speaker 6: focus on you. Everything's going to do with You're going
- 31:47Speaker 6: to get these gas prices there, I think these food
- 31:49Speaker 6: prices down. We'll got to help farmers. And everybody's saying
- 31:53Speaker 6: the same script as opposed to everybody popping off. And
- 31:56Speaker 6: you know, it's a combination of the new media's, combination
- 31:59Speaker 6: of all of the cable television. You know, you have
- 32:02Speaker 6: people on your show all the time that basically say
- 32:04Speaker 6: different things, and you need to have a singular message here,
- 32:07Speaker 6: and the messages we can get it fixed, they can't.
- 32:10Speaker 4: Yeah, So if the war in Iran is settled in
- 32:14Speaker 4: a month or two or three and gas prices are
- 32:16Speaker 4: way down, everything's doing, to what chance do the Republicans
- 32:21Speaker 4: have in the midterms.
- 32:23Speaker 6: I'd say the House is going to be it can
- 32:26Speaker 6: be close. The Senate should be our still with all
- 32:31Speaker 6: of this, all of those three or four races that
- 32:34Speaker 6: are as that shouldn't be in play, but they are.
- 32:36Speaker 6: But the key thing here is the president basically has
- 32:38Speaker 6: to bite his tone a little bit, and if he doesn't,
- 32:41Speaker 6: if he loses the House, the sun and he's gonna
- 32:43Speaker 6: have a lot pad the last two years. So he
- 32:45Speaker 6: just has to be very disciplined, and the White House
- 32:47Speaker 6: has to be disciplined, the cabin has to be disciplined,
- 32:50Speaker 6: and nobody should be saying anything to side on the script.
- 32:53Speaker 4: Yeah, you know, I know that's the tradition. But it's
- 32:57Speaker 4: twenty twenty six. Can we get rid of the script? Said?
- 33:00Speaker 4: Everybody just say what they really think.
- 33:04Speaker 6: I think that's part of the part of the problem.
- 33:09Speaker 6: He does be any good to spend eight every million
- 33:11Speaker 6: dollars on advertising if everybody has a different message.
- 33:14Speaker 4: Yeah, that's true. All right, well, Ed Rollins, you're the expert,
- 33:18Speaker 4: the dean himself, Ed Rollins, great stuff, Thanks for being
- 33:21Speaker 4: with us. We'll do it again soon, all right. Take care,
- 33:28Speaker 4: I know what he means. You gotta you know. You
- 33:31Speaker 4: can't say these outrageous things. You can't talk like that
- 33:33Speaker 4: in the public. But it all started ten years ago,
- 33:37Speaker 4: eleven years ago when Donald Trump came down that escalator.
- 33:40Speaker 4: And thank god he did all that, because where would
- 33:44Speaker 4: we have been without Donald Trump? What would we been
- 33:46Speaker 4: talking about for the last eleven years? Do you realize
- 33:49Speaker 4: what this guy does? It has done for our ratings,
- 33:51Speaker 4: for everything. Had he just been a regular politician when
- 33:57Speaker 4: he's accused of the worst stuff in the world, if
