- 1:09Speaker 4: Let's get into the five o'clock hour because we got
- 1:12Speaker 4: to hear from Bucky McMillan, A and m playing Oklahoma tomorrow,
- 1:16Speaker 4: and this is following up the hectic, absolutely insane ending
- 1:21Speaker 4: against Auburn earlier this week, which I mean, that's one
- 1:27Speaker 4: of the wild endings of college basketball across the sports
- 1:29Speaker 4: so far this season. I mean, it was heartbreak and
- 1:34Speaker 4: then oh my god, let's go like such a total
- 1:39Speaker 4: one eighty on emotions, which I mean, of course, if
- 1:42Speaker 4: you're listening, I'm sure you already know what happened. And
- 1:44Speaker 4: you saw this Auburn hits that what we thought was
- 1:47Speaker 4: a buzzer beater and then they go back and look
- 1:48Speaker 4: at it and it's nope. And I love after the game,
- 1:52Speaker 4: and I think you have this audio cute up that
- 1:54Speaker 4: we could play here in just a minute after the game.
- 1:56Speaker 4: Bucky McMillan was on the plane and he did this
- 1:59Speaker 4: video that he shot for the Aggie social media, and
- 2:02Speaker 4: you can just listen for yourself.
- 2:05Speaker 5: Howdy acts coming home from the planes of Auburn with
- 2:08Speaker 5: a big win.
- 2:09Speaker 6: Back to college station. We play Oklahoma two thirty on Saturday.
- 2:14Speaker 6: We got to have you there.
- 2:15Speaker 4: We got a pack read two thirty.
- 2:17Speaker 6: Don't be a millisecond late. You're a millisecond late. You know,
- 2:20Speaker 6: I don't count what are we gonna do Saturday two thirty.
- 2:26Speaker 4: Yeah, pac read tomorrow. I love that dude. I love
- 2:29Speaker 4: Bucky Man. That dude is awesome. He's just so much
- 2:31Speaker 4: fulling No, I love that, And I what he has
- 2:35Speaker 4: done with this team, Uh, first year with basically an
- 2:40Speaker 4: entire ROS roster turnover like it is. We we knew
- 2:45Speaker 4: there were gonna be some speed bumps along the way.
- 2:46Speaker 4: But you have a team right now that is twelve
- 2:48Speaker 4: and three, I believe, undefeated in SEC play. I mean,
- 2:52Speaker 4: you really cannot ask for more right now. Uh, March
- 2:56Speaker 4: madness is not out of the question. I mean we're
- 2:57Speaker 4: not gonna jump that far ahead, don't get me wrong.
- 2:59Speaker 4: But where he has this team at right now, I
- 3:01Speaker 4: mean it's totally still within the realm of possibility. So Oklahoma,
- 3:06Speaker 4: here at Reed Arena at two thirty pm tomorrow, be
- 3:08Speaker 4: there a pack read. We have Buckey, who did a
- 3:10Speaker 4: press conference just a couple of hours ago previewing this game.
- 3:13Speaker 4: We're going to tune into that and listen right now.
- 3:18Speaker 7: Pop'sman on kind of a roll of lamp. I know
- 3:22Speaker 7: you expect some things like that.
- 3:26Speaker 8: From him, or you would have brought him in anyway.
- 3:29Speaker 8: What do you credit for this recent service.
- 3:33Speaker 6: Of offense him.
- 3:34Speaker 5: Well, of first, I think he's gotten not just healthy,
- 3:37Speaker 5: but he you don't practice for your.
- 3:41Speaker 6: And you have to sit out.
- 3:43Speaker 5: Basketball is such a skilled game that like his skills
- 3:45Speaker 5: just weren't caught up to where they were. And then
- 3:49Speaker 5: when he's not able to practice, he obviously can't be
- 3:53Speaker 5: able to play the game speed, you know what I mean,
- 3:55Speaker 5: because he won't even be able to play practice speed.
- 3:59Speaker 5: Then when he got back healthy, I think he had
- 4:01Speaker 5: to be reminded of how hard you have to practice
- 4:04Speaker 5: to be able to do it in a game, and
- 4:06Speaker 5: that's hard to do, you know, to trust your body
- 4:08Speaker 5: after injury. So I think him getting healthy, but then
- 4:12Speaker 5: him committing to practicing hard every day has allowed the
- 4:15Speaker 5: games to be easy to him and be able to
- 4:18Speaker 5: play at at the pace and the speed that you
- 4:21Speaker 5: got to play with it in the game and not
- 4:23Speaker 5: wear down.
- 4:24Speaker 9: He's mentioned to us how he's tried to really embrace
- 4:28Speaker 9: that bench player goal these last few weeks.
- 4:30Speaker 4: Just have you seen that, maybe.
- 4:32Speaker 9: Just from a mental standpoint, help his play on the
- 4:35Speaker 9: court as well.
- 4:36Speaker 5: Yeah, you know, I've never been big on starters or
- 4:38Speaker 5: non starters because it really doesn't really matter, you know.
- 4:41Speaker 6: That's more.
- 4:42Speaker 5: I mean, if you look at all teams I've coached,
- 4:46Speaker 5: a lot of times, it started unplay the most minutes,
- 4:49Speaker 5: or is it in the top five minutes. So you know,
- 4:52Speaker 5: really what comes down to your value in a game
- 4:55Speaker 5: or through a season is just the minutes you play.
- 4:58Speaker 5: So I mean, he's certainly playing the way he did
- 5:02Speaker 5: last game had played a lot of minutes because his
- 5:04Speaker 5: value was really high on both sides of the ball, you know,
- 5:07Speaker 5: I mean that you got to be able to play
- 5:09Speaker 5: both sides of the ball to impact winning. And you know,
- 5:12Speaker 5: even though his offense as good as defense, and his
- 5:14Speaker 5: tenacity and the ability to make winning plays, you know matters,
- 5:19Speaker 5: and his ability to get to this point has come
- 5:22Speaker 5: a long way. So you know, we is he good
- 5:25Speaker 5: enough to be one of those top five guys when
- 5:26Speaker 5: he's playing well that starts a game if you started
- 5:29Speaker 5: your best vite players. Sure, But at the end of
- 5:32Speaker 5: the day, we just I just don't look at it
- 5:34Speaker 5: that way. I don't think starting is even relevant to anything.
- 5:37Speaker 10: At thirty three to six run and even the run
- 5:40Speaker 10: at the beginning of it, how much do you feel
- 5:42Speaker 10: like that is kind of proof of concept of the
- 5:44Speaker 10: system that you want, because it kind of seemed like
- 5:46Speaker 10: that was maybe the a good game film of what
- 5:50Speaker 10: bunch the ball is.
- 5:51Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean, I think the biggest deal is we
- 5:53Speaker 5: were just played hard and relentless the whole time. I
- 5:56Speaker 5: even told the guys when we were down, I just
- 5:58Speaker 5: loved how we were playing.
- 5:59Speaker 6: It wasn't playoff a second off.
- 6:01Speaker 5: We were, you know, battling for every rebound, every denial
- 6:06Speaker 5: in the press, running the floor, attacking. So you know,
- 6:10Speaker 5: if you do that, you're able to have those big
- 6:12Speaker 5: runs at some point in the game. I mean, we
- 6:14Speaker 5: obviously came out second half cold shooting, and we finally
- 6:16Speaker 5: heated up and we got it rolling. So I think
- 6:20Speaker 5: that doesn't happen though. It's not just in that moment.
- 6:22Speaker 5: It was the whole game. We were relentless and our effort.
- 6:26Speaker 8: Look, you're fifteen games in and I think ten of
- 6:29Speaker 8: the last eleven in your opinion, how close you all
- 6:33Speaker 8: are playing at your peak efficiency or peak ability?
- 6:38Speaker 6: It's hard to know, Like you really don't know.
- 6:42Speaker 5: I do know that that that we're playing good right now,
- 6:45Speaker 5: like we were.
- 6:46Speaker 6: The only loss we have was sm in overtime.
- 6:49Speaker 5: We've overcome, you know, obviously in Baco's injury too, and
- 6:52Speaker 5: figuring out how who can step up in his absence.
- 6:55Speaker 5: And I thought that Ali dB was playing really well
- 6:57Speaker 5: in that role. But and you know, the way we
- 7:01Speaker 5: are now still not good enough to get to where
- 7:02Speaker 5: we want to go. So we've got to keep going,
- 7:04Speaker 5: you know what I mean. And every team's going to improve.
- 7:08Speaker 5: We've improved, I think, probably more than any team in
- 7:10Speaker 5: the league from the start till now. If you just
- 7:13Speaker 5: saw us in the Oklahoma State game early in the season,
- 7:16Speaker 5: you say, if we weren't where we.
- 7:17Speaker 6: Are now, we've improved a ton.
- 7:18Speaker 5: But you know, we want to try and say, think
- 7:20Speaker 5: can we keep going and improve just as much a
- 7:22Speaker 5: second half of the season.
- 7:24Speaker 6: You know, I know this.
- 7:25Speaker 5: We're a true team now, Like you can tell these
- 7:28Speaker 5: players out there, they're playing for each other, they're playing
- 7:30Speaker 5: for Texas A and M. I know we have an
- 7:34Speaker 5: identity to our team.
- 7:36Speaker 6: We are.
- 7:36Speaker 5: You know, when you turn on the game, you know
- 7:38Speaker 5: what you're going to expect. You're going to see some
- 7:39Speaker 5: scrappers and some warriors out there. We're not going to
- 7:42Speaker 5: win every single game, right, just just an SEC gauntlet.
- 7:46Speaker 5: I mean, you're gonna have some tough ones that can
- 7:48Speaker 5: go against you, but you know, we just got to
- 7:51Speaker 5: stay true to who we are because that's going to
- 7:53Speaker 5: give us the best chance of having the long term
- 7:54Speaker 5: success that we want this season and all the seasons
- 7:57Speaker 5: to come.
- 7:58Speaker 4: You know.
- 7:59Speaker 11: Okay, coming into SEC play, obviously talked about it just
- 8:02Speaker 11: now it's a countlet to come out of these two
- 8:04Speaker 11: games with two close wins. How much of that is
- 8:07Speaker 11: buildable and how much do you just say, like, hey,
- 8:09Speaker 11: each game is its own kind of you kind of
- 8:11Speaker 11: make it and take it at one game at a time.
- 8:13Speaker 11: Where can you really build off for these two results here.
- 8:15Speaker 5: Well, you can build off playing better and better, you know,
- 8:18Speaker 5: Like that's what you build off of, is the momentum
- 8:20Speaker 5: of playing well. Even if we didn't win the LSU
- 8:23Speaker 5: game or if we didn't win the last game and
- 8:26Speaker 5: we're still playing well, that means more than winning, it
- 8:29Speaker 5: really does.
- 8:29Speaker 6: I know people are like, what do you mean, Like
- 8:31Speaker 6: playing well.
- 8:32Speaker 5: Means the most because that's going to give you the
- 8:33Speaker 5: best chance to have success. And so we just got
- 8:37Speaker 5: to we got to stay with that mindset and we
- 8:38Speaker 5: can't forget why why we win, Like we it's not
- 8:42Speaker 5: like we have thirteen guys on the team that are
- 8:45Speaker 5: going to be first round draft picks next year.
- 8:46Speaker 6: That's not what this team is.
- 8:49Speaker 5: We win because we're a true team that plays exceptionally hard,
- 8:53Speaker 5: plays together, and is talented. I'm not, you know, don't
- 8:57Speaker 5: we do have talent, But like we win because we
- 9:00Speaker 5: scrap and we fight, and you know, I showed our
- 9:02Speaker 5: guys all the winning plays and the effort plays from
- 9:05Speaker 5: the last game, and if there was one of those
- 9:07Speaker 5: not made, we don't win the game in the same
- 9:10Speaker 5: in the LSU game.
- 9:11Speaker 6: That's just how this league is. That the margins are
- 9:13Speaker 6: very tight.
- 9:14Speaker 5: If we ever get away and we think we've arrived
- 9:17Speaker 5: and we're going to not be have that pedal all
- 9:20Speaker 5: the way down to the to the floor, we won't
- 9:23Speaker 5: have success. You know, we're making up for a lot
- 9:26Speaker 5: without Harvard playing and the togetherness and unselfishness and the
- 9:30Speaker 5: tenacity that we're playing with.
- 9:32Speaker 6: There's a look in.
- 9:32Speaker 5: Our guys eyes right now that like we're in here,
- 9:35Speaker 5: you know, and you know you're gonna have to deal
- 9:38Speaker 5: with us, and that's got to obviously continue through the
- 9:41Speaker 5: hids and the lows.
- 9:43Speaker 6: How much did that win mean for you?
- 9:45Speaker 12: Not only just going back to the state of Alabama,
- 9:48Speaker 12: but the way that that game was won, the culture
- 9:51Speaker 12: that you're building, and then also just the way it
- 9:53Speaker 12: ended in the final second. All the emotion that was
- 9:56Speaker 12: going through you in that game.
- 9:57Speaker 5: Yeah, you know, I mean they've got a lot of
- 9:59Speaker 5: you know up in Alabama. My uh my mom and dad,
- 10:03Speaker 5: they went to the University of Alabama. So the Alabama
- 10:05Speaker 5: Auburndale is hilarious. You know, a lot of emotions in
- 10:09Speaker 5: that and uh, you know, for my dad and mom
- 10:12Speaker 5: to be at that game, you know, uh that was
- 10:15Speaker 5: great for them to their son rolling.
- 10:17Speaker 6: There to the jungle and get a win.
- 10:19Speaker 13: You know.
- 10:21Speaker 6: But uh so, now it was fun. It was a
- 10:23Speaker 6: lot of fun.
- 10:24Speaker 2: You know.
- 10:24Speaker 5: I do like the coaches the Pearls. They've been good,
- 10:27Speaker 5: good to my players in high school that went to
- 10:30Speaker 5: school there. And you know, they've they've had a tough
- 10:33Speaker 5: schedule they played. You know, their records not indicative of
- 10:35Speaker 5: who they are. They've got one of the toughest schedules
- 10:37Speaker 5: in the country. And you know, but it was great
- 10:40Speaker 5: to get an SEC win, that's for sure. You know,
- 10:43Speaker 5: the end of the game was intriguing. But I want
- 10:46Speaker 5: to be absolutely clear. Like, you know, I was on
- 10:50Speaker 5: the radio earlier today with some people from the SEC
- 10:53Speaker 5: and it was, you know, just to rehashes for the
- 10:55Speaker 5: aggies because you know, they're like, what the heck was going?
- 10:58Speaker 6: What happened in the game, you know what I'm saying.
- 11:00Speaker 5: And so you know, we're playing in the game and
- 11:02Speaker 5: there's you know, we're going to the free throw line
- 11:05Speaker 5: late in the game and we're gonna try to make
- 11:06Speaker 5: two three. We're up by two with two seconds left
- 11:09Speaker 5: in the game. We're gonna make two free throws to
- 11:11Speaker 5: get the game to four points. The game's over with. Well,
- 11:14Speaker 5: we missed the first one, so now it's a two
- 11:16Speaker 5: point game. They call their last time out in the game.
- 11:20Speaker 5: So now we're sitting there and it's like, okay, if
- 11:23Speaker 5: we miss this free throw, all right, you know they're
- 11:26Speaker 5: gonna have to take an eighty foot heave as long
- 11:28Speaker 5: as we hit the rim on the free throw, and
- 11:30Speaker 5: you know we want to do that. We had four
- 11:33Speaker 5: players with four fouls on them, so you know, our
- 11:35Speaker 5: chances of missing this free throw then making an eighty
- 11:38Speaker 5: foot heave are pretty low compared to them getting some
- 11:41Speaker 5: type of full court throw in so anyway between the
- 11:44Speaker 5: first second free throw. The point four seconds was mistakenly
- 11:46Speaker 5: added to the clock, wouldn't have changed our decision, but
- 11:49Speaker 5: we wanted to miss the free throw, so we shoot
- 11:52Speaker 5: the free throw missed. There's an inverted whistle, right, they
- 11:57Speaker 5: took it, did what we wanted to throw? Throw it,
- 12:00Speaker 5: not eighty foot pass. Eighty foot shot that comes up
- 12:03Speaker 5: will short.
- 12:04Speaker 6: Game's over. We're ready to celebrate. We won the game.
- 12:07Speaker 6: Let's go.
- 12:08Speaker 5: But then inverted whistle says, no, hold up, there's gonna
- 12:11Speaker 5: be a sideline out of bounds, and so I'm just thinking,
- 12:15Speaker 5: you know, y'all remember the whole Americans versus the Russians.
- 12:18Speaker 6: You know you remember it? Yeah, yeah, you remember it.
- 12:23Speaker 6: And so we're sitting there, like, hold up, now a sideline.
- 12:26Speaker 6: We just won.
- 12:27Speaker 5: We're gonna have to go win for a second time here,
- 12:29Speaker 5: and we remember how that story ended.
- 12:32Speaker 6: So you know, they take it.
- 12:33Speaker 5: They get a sideline out of bounds with point six
- 12:36Speaker 5: seconds left, like this is the you know, the only
- 12:38Speaker 5: way that this game isn't over is if there's some
- 12:40Speaker 5: type of whistle. So they get a sideline out of
- 12:43Speaker 5: bounds with point six seconds left, you know, they throw
- 12:46Speaker 5: it in and Keishaw Murphy is a player coach against
- 12:48Speaker 5: in high school.
- 12:49Speaker 6: He catches it.
- 12:50Speaker 5: You know, we know, if you know basketball, how hard
- 12:52Speaker 5: it is to get a shot off from that distance
- 12:55Speaker 5: to load up.
- 12:55Speaker 6: It's almost impossible.
- 12:56Speaker 5: In point six seconds and you know the sec actually
- 13:00Speaker 5: when they broke it down as quick as Keishawn did it,
- 13:03Speaker 5: they broke it down.
- 13:04Speaker 6: It was actually point seven eight seconds when he shot it.
- 13:07Speaker 5: When they broke it down too point seven eight seconds
- 13:09Speaker 5: to actually get it off from the time it touched
- 13:10Speaker 5: his finger to the time he shot it. Clock it
- 13:12Speaker 5: started a little bit late. You're not gonna get every
- 13:14Speaker 5: millisecond right anyway, So takes it goes in. You know,
- 13:19Speaker 5: the reps call it good. But the way that it
- 13:22Speaker 5: plays out, every buzzer beating shot goes to the replay
- 13:27Speaker 5: official and it has to prove that it's the softest fingertips.
- 13:30Speaker 6: It's not a challenge. That's not how it works. Every
- 13:33Speaker 6: buzzer beer has proved.
- 13:34Speaker 5: That's office that there's separation between the hand and the
- 13:37Speaker 5: ball when it releases his finger. And the only clock
- 13:41Speaker 5: that matters is a clock above the backboards. Like we know,
- 13:46Speaker 5: every coach and that's every coach knows should know that
- 13:48Speaker 5: that it's the clock above the backboards. The only thing
- 13:51Speaker 5: that matters is the only one synchronized to the true
- 13:55Speaker 5: of the clock. And so when they reviewed it, balls
- 13:58Speaker 5: on his hands right there, even at point six seconds left,
- 14:03Speaker 5: you know, and they declare, hey, basket's good. I mean,
- 14:06Speaker 5: basket's no good. Our guys are celebrating, our guys are
- 14:11Speaker 5: going crazy, and I'm not having to get out here
- 14:14Speaker 5: for they tell they got a third throw in because
- 14:16Speaker 5: we have to win this game a.
- 14:16Speaker 6: Third time down here in the jungle. We're not getting
- 14:19Speaker 6: out of here.
- 14:19Speaker 5: Love and so uh. Anyway, that's how it transpired. But
- 14:25Speaker 5: you know, it was it was a it was a
- 14:27Speaker 5: great it was a great atmosphere. But some things that
- 14:29Speaker 5: you know, because of the it wasn't a controversial It
- 14:32Speaker 5: may have been controversy down there in Auburn, but it
- 14:35Speaker 5: wasn't a controversial win. Felt like we won it twice.
- 14:38Speaker 5: So it was a dang shore, a great win by
- 14:42Speaker 5: our guys to go ahead and get it done. But
- 14:45Speaker 5: something because of the way that everything good and down,
- 14:48Speaker 5: something that wasn't talked about enough is the great victory
- 14:53Speaker 5: it was on the road because in six years and
- 14:57Speaker 5: six seasons.
- 14:57Speaker 6: Auburn's only lost six games in that arena, you know.
- 15:01Speaker 5: And so that was just a great win for our
- 15:03Speaker 5: guys and a and a great uh win for the AGI.
- 15:06Speaker 6: So I know everyone, you know, I.
- 15:08Speaker 5: Say that just for for all our Aggi's here to wonder, hey,
- 15:11Speaker 5: what how did this all transpire?
- 15:12Speaker 6: What are the rules?
- 15:13Speaker 5: And you know, I've been asked why didn't SEC just
- 15:15Speaker 5: make a statement? Well, the SEC, when I talked to them,
- 15:18Speaker 5: and this is they said they don't make any statement
- 15:20Speaker 5: when the call is correct. They don't make a statement
- 15:23Speaker 5: when the call is correct. There's no need. So that's
- 15:25Speaker 5: why I no statements needed correct call. And uh, it
- 15:30Speaker 5: was just to see our guys, you know, persevere through
- 15:33Speaker 5: that and you know again, I felt like we were
- 15:37Speaker 5: gonna get to celebrate twice and glad we got out
- 15:39Speaker 5: of their lives.
- 15:39Speaker 6: You know, when you.
- 15:40Speaker 14: Talk about that end the game situation, the putting the
- 15:44Speaker 14: extra time on the clock and all of these things
- 15:47Speaker 14: happening in fast time, was the communication between you and
- 15:49Speaker 14: the rest like cleared?
- 15:51Speaker 6: It was this suffice or yeah, yeah, so this is
- 15:53Speaker 6: no deal with it. I'm just telling you what the
- 15:54Speaker 6: SEC has told me. After you know they're not.
- 15:57Speaker 5: They have been great that the SEC has been great
- 15:59Speaker 5: to work with because it was one of those situations
- 16:03Speaker 5: when they got when they had those integurts when they
- 16:05Speaker 5: got the ball on the side.
- 16:06Speaker 6: Like I'm furious about this, and then Auver it's mad.
- 16:10Speaker 6: What are they mad at? I'm you know what I'm saying.
- 16:12Speaker 5: And you know, I didn't know they had to the
- 16:13Speaker 5: point four to the clock. That's what was weird about.
- 16:15Speaker 5: I didn't recognize that type of the game went from
- 16:17Speaker 5: two to two four between the free throws because you
- 16:20Speaker 5: usually that.
- 16:21Speaker 6: You know, it doesn't happen, you know what I'm saying,
- 16:23Speaker 6: And so.
- 16:25Speaker 5: What the fact I found that out after the game,
- 16:27Speaker 5: that would not have changed our strategy to miss the
- 16:29Speaker 5: free throw when they had no timeout, and the strategy
- 16:33Speaker 5: obviously worked because they throw a heave that doesn't come
- 16:36Speaker 5: close to the basket.
- 16:38Speaker 6: But no, no, we didn't. I didn't even know about
- 16:39Speaker 6: it tapter the game. I'll tell something really funny though.
- 16:41Speaker 6: This is so funny. Before the game, with about a
- 16:44Speaker 6: minute left, its clocks ticking down. We're in warm ups, okay,
- 16:47Speaker 6: and I bring the head reff over there.
- 16:49Speaker 5: The clock's ticking down. I said, hey, man, that scoreboard
- 16:53Speaker 5: is wrong. The tenth of the second clock is not
- 16:55Speaker 5: working right. This is so funny because look at it
- 16:57Speaker 5: compared to that it was there. They have a side
- 17:00Speaker 5: coreboard that every the fans don't know. But that's it's irrelevant.
- 17:03Speaker 5: I said, I'll just worry that one of our guys
- 17:05Speaker 5: may look up there and see it. The tenth of
- 17:07Speaker 5: the second thing was wrong, like it was going down wrong,
- 17:10Speaker 5: like basically when it's supposed to go to like one
- 17:12Speaker 5: point nine seconds showing like one minute nine seconds. So
- 17:14Speaker 5: their tenth of the second mark was actually on the
- 17:16Speaker 5: second mark. So it's not flipping fast enough. So I
- 17:19Speaker 5: bring him over there before the game. I'm pointing to it,
- 17:22Speaker 5: and he says, yeah, but Bucky, you know, the only
- 17:23Speaker 5: clock clock that matters is the one on the goal.
- 17:25Speaker 6: I said, yeah, no, I'm just saying it's wrong, you know.
- 17:28Speaker 5: And it came down to it the end of the
- 17:29Speaker 5: game that you know that we were going to the
- 17:32Speaker 5: tenth of the second on that one, you know, And
- 17:34Speaker 5: so it was just funny how it worked out.
- 17:37Speaker 9: So one one clarification that you mentioned the point seven
- 17:41Speaker 9: eight seconds, So yeah, did that come from your follow up?
- 17:44Speaker 9: Conversation with the league office, and how did they determine
- 17:47Speaker 9: that it was actually zero point seven eight seconds when
- 17:50Speaker 9: the ball came off Murphy's hand.
- 17:51Speaker 5: Yeah, so basically there if the clock, you know, if
- 17:55Speaker 5: you just had a superman on the clock and could
- 17:58Speaker 5: get it exactly right from the time it touched his
- 18:01Speaker 5: fingers to the time that it got that they it
- 18:03Speaker 5: got would have got off it was actually point seven
- 18:06Speaker 5: eight seconds. But even at point six seconds in the game,
- 18:10Speaker 5: at point six it's still in his hands when the
- 18:12Speaker 5: shot of the clock only back for the only one
- 18:14Speaker 5: that matters is showing zero.
- 18:17Speaker 6: And this is not a challenge.
- 18:19Speaker 5: This is how the rules work that every buzzer beater
- 18:21Speaker 5: has to be confirmed right there. So, you know, like
- 18:24Speaker 5: I said, it was, I couldn't believe we're in that spot.
- 18:27Speaker 5: They already won the game, I felt, but it was
- 18:29Speaker 5: good to win it a second time.
- 18:31Speaker 6: Did you reach out?
- 18:32Speaker 10: Did you reach out to the conference officer they reach
- 18:34Speaker 10: out to you about that?
- 18:36Speaker 5: Yeah, no, I'll reach out, just just clarifying, Hey, everything
- 18:40Speaker 5: that went down, because you know, I felt that there
- 18:42Speaker 5: was a couple of things that you know, I need
- 18:44Speaker 5: to clarification. Why was four tenths added to the clock.
- 18:47Speaker 5: Why was there the whistle happened when after our strategy?
- 18:51Speaker 6: You know, so what you've got. I really respect the
- 18:54Speaker 6: SEC because.
- 18:55Speaker 5: Even though all the late game calls under two and
- 18:58Speaker 5: a half seconds went against us, it felt like, and
- 19:02Speaker 5: they acknowledge them, things could have been different.
- 19:05Speaker 6: The certainly the last one that went against us, at.
- 19:08Speaker 5: Least that got corrected to the obvious situation that the
- 19:13Speaker 5: ball wasn't oftentimes, So that was good.
- 19:15Speaker 6: In all the games you've coached, where does that one rank? Mmmm?
- 19:21Speaker 5: Well, you know, you know, it's fun because there's like
- 19:26Speaker 5: it's great when we go on the road and get
- 19:29Speaker 5: a w and there's that much you know, there's that
- 19:33Speaker 5: great of an atmosphere, right, Like I love that. There's
- 19:37Speaker 5: nothing better than having, you know, to be escorted off
- 19:40Speaker 5: the court with security, you know what I'm saying. Like
- 19:43Speaker 5: I live for that, you know, like and to have
- 19:46Speaker 5: everyone yelling and throwing stuff at you and just you know,
- 19:49Speaker 5: just going off, you know, because you did something relevant.
- 19:53Speaker 5: I remember a quote that someone once told me, and
- 19:57Speaker 5: it was like that it was like, haters only get
- 19:59Speaker 5: loud when you do things that matter, you know, haters
- 20:03Speaker 5: only get loud when you do things that matter. And
- 20:05Speaker 5: if you realize that that with success comes the haters,
- 20:12Speaker 5: the only thing you can hope for is to acquire more. Right,
- 20:16Speaker 5: And so when we get there hating on us going
- 20:18Speaker 5: off that court, it's because you know, hey, they could
- 20:21Speaker 5: have been upset with the game, but we did something
- 20:24Speaker 5: that was that mattered.
- 20:26Speaker 6: We won in that building. We won in that building,
- 20:30Speaker 6: and that.
- 20:30Speaker 5: Was only the six times someone has done that in
- 20:32Speaker 5: six years. So that was a great win for us.
- 20:34Speaker 5: And that's what I remember about.
- 20:35Speaker 6: It real quick. What some challenges for Oklahoma?
- 20:39Speaker 4: The team you're gonna face, smart.
- 20:41Speaker 6: Great basketball team right now. They're playing well.
- 20:45Speaker 5: They didn't play their best in the last game, but
- 20:47Speaker 5: they got great guard play. It's a tough, tough matchup
- 20:51Speaker 5: be anybody's game, just like the last two games. So
- 20:55Speaker 5: we got to remember what we are. What I would
- 20:57Speaker 5: say for our fans, we got to get everybody here
- 21:00Speaker 5: or these margins are so small they are dang sure,
- 21:05Speaker 5: can't assume you're gonna win because you're at home. These
- 21:07Speaker 5: are This is anybody's game, and so we need everybody
- 21:11Speaker 5: here fighting with us, and I expect a great game.
- 21:15Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 21:15Speaker 4: So that was Bucky McMillan ahead of the basketball game
- 21:18Speaker 4: tomorrow two thirty pm. Oklahoma coming to town, pack Reed Arena.
- 21:23Speaker 4: That one should be a lot of fun. Now, while
- 21:25Speaker 4: we were hearing from Bucky McMillan, we had a couple
- 21:29Speaker 4: faces join us here in the studio. Y'all want to
- 21:31Speaker 4: say hello, Hello.
- 21:33Speaker 2: Hey, Now we got to turn on those Yeah, it's
- 21:34Speaker 2: this microphone on he that is now hello, testing one too,
- 21:38Speaker 2: Testing one two. Yeah.
- 21:39Speaker 4: So if you're not familiar with voices, that is the
- 21:42Speaker 4: voice of Will.
- 21:43Speaker 2: Everybody that our three people that listen to this show
- 21:46Speaker 2: should be completely aware of who my voice is.
- 21:48Speaker 4: Yes, and we had a voice in there too.
- 21:51Speaker 2: We had great plans today to introduce Riley on board,
- 21:56Speaker 2: and something happened before the show. Riley took a nosedive
- 22:02Speaker 2: in the parking lot and yeah, and fortunately the X
- 22:06Speaker 2: rays came back negative. But we've been at the er
- 22:09Speaker 2: for the next little bit. But hey, props to Riley.
- 22:11Speaker 2: She has rubbed some dirt on it and come back
- 22:13Speaker 2: into the game.
- 22:15Speaker 6: Right.
- 22:15Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 22:15Speaker 4: And I like freaked out too because I was in
- 22:17Speaker 4: the studio doing my show and then my phone goes
- 22:19Speaker 4: off and I get this text. Apparently Riley just fell
- 22:21Speaker 4: in the parking lot. She thinks she may have broken
- 22:23Speaker 4: her ankle. I am five minutes out. We'll update. I'm like, what, yeah,
- 22:28Speaker 4: is she here? Does she need help?
- 22:29Speaker 6: Play here?
- 22:30Speaker 2: Yeah? Yeah? And like, actually, so get this. I Riley
- 22:33Speaker 2: called me. I was leaving the house coming up here
- 22:36Speaker 2: for a show. Riley calls and she says, I think
- 22:39Speaker 2: I broke my ankle. I was like, well, okay, because
- 22:42Speaker 2: you know, being the experienced girl dad that I am,
- 22:45Speaker 2: I can deal with this, right. So I said, what
- 22:48Speaker 2: do you need? I'm en route and she's like, well,
- 22:50Speaker 2: I've got a friend that's supposed to come pick me up,
- 22:53Speaker 2: but he's still at work. And I'm like, okay, tell
- 22:56Speaker 2: him to stop. I got this. So I said, do
- 23:00Speaker 2: you want me to text Ryan so he can come
- 23:02Speaker 2: down and check on you? And her response was no,
- 23:05Speaker 2: I don't want to bother him.
- 23:07Speaker 4: Well, I I appreciate that, but I'm glad that you
- 23:10Speaker 4: texted me anyway.
- 23:11Speaker 2: Yeah, I went ahead and made the executive decision to
- 23:14Speaker 2: have somebody come and check on her because I thought
- 23:16Speaker 2: she might still be laid out in the parking lot.
- 23:18Speaker 4: No, that's what I was worried about. I was like,
- 23:20Speaker 4: you said, that I was pictured like, oh my am
- 23:21Speaker 4: I gonna see her like sitting on the curb.
- 23:23Speaker 15: Like no, I hopped my way to the car and
- 23:25Speaker 15: sat in the backseat and just lit like propped my
- 23:27Speaker 15: leg up.
- 23:29Speaker 16: I'm just surprised because all the people I would think
- 23:31Speaker 16: that would hurt falling in the parking lot if you will.
- 23:33Speaker 2: Yeah, sure, the doc I can't get out. Hey, thanks, guys,
- 23:39Speaker 2: appreciate that.
- 23:41Speaker 5: No.
- 23:41Speaker 2: So, she we're at the the doc is in there
- 23:44Speaker 2: and they're like, what is your pain level? And she
- 23:46Speaker 2: says it's at a six, which I'm like, okay, props, right,
- 23:49Speaker 2: that's that's pretty solid. Uh. And then Scott Delusia from
- 23:53Speaker 2: The Infomaniacs, which Riley is one of our co hosts
- 23:57Speaker 2: on the Info maniacs Now. Scott was like, is she
- 23:59Speaker 2: gonna be able to be in next week? I was like, yeah,
- 24:02Speaker 2: I think so, And he said, is she going to
- 24:03Speaker 2: be on drugs? I was like, well, it's never a
- 24:07Speaker 2: problem for me when I'm on the show, joking of course,
- 24:11Speaker 2: I'm stone cold sober when I'm on the radio. But
- 24:13Speaker 2: at any rate, I said, she's not going to have
- 24:16Speaker 2: any pain meds. I think she's going to be fine,
- 24:18Speaker 2: and I said she just listed it as a six.
- 24:21Speaker 2: I was like, that's like what we say when we
- 24:23Speaker 2: get up in the morning. I'm at a six right
- 24:25Speaker 2: on the pain scale, So yeah, you're dealing with just
- 24:28Speaker 2: did it too. Like I stood up to walk out
- 24:30Speaker 2: of the room in the er and I was like, yeah,
- 24:32Speaker 2: I'm at a six. Everything. This front's coming through. My
- 24:36Speaker 2: knees hurt, my shoulder hurts, yeah everything. Yeah. So but no,
- 24:40Speaker 2: I did not fall in the parking. Well.
- 24:42Speaker 4: I appreciate you stepping up and taking care of her,
- 24:45Speaker 4: and I thank you for coming in and running the
- 24:47Speaker 4: board because I was clueless. I didn't know how to
- 24:48Speaker 4: run this or run that computer in year, I'm used
- 24:50Speaker 4: to running the candy stuff over there, and it's different
- 24:52Speaker 4: in here.
- 24:53Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 24:53Speaker 15: So I've been playing Bangers, but yeah I made him
- 24:56Speaker 15: turn it up today so I could hear it.
- 24:58Speaker 4: Yeah that's true. Like normally I turned it down because
- 25:00Speaker 4: rob if I'm blasting too loud through the walls and
- 25:02Speaker 4: you know, kind of gets on his nerves. But she's like, no,
- 25:04Speaker 4: turn it up to hear more what you're playing in there.
- 25:06Speaker 2: Oh you're talking about on your candy Yeah, okay, Yeah,
- 25:09Speaker 2: this was earlier today, say, because were at the er
- 25:11Speaker 2: up here, because you know I play when I'm in
- 25:13Speaker 2: here and I'm on the board, you know, spinning the
- 25:16Speaker 2: ones and twos, I played nothing but the bangers. Oh yeah,
- 25:19Speaker 2: I'm not denying that either, even even though you may not,
- 25:21Speaker 2: I understand that you did not know who Dwight Yoakum
- 25:24Speaker 2: was earlier in the show. Yeah, we're going to slapping
- 25:28Speaker 2: me back and forth, backhanded, buddy, I'm telling you, yeah.
- 25:31Speaker 4: But so glad that it's nothing more serious than what
- 25:34Speaker 4: it is for you. And I'm glad that y'all were
- 25:36Speaker 4: able to get back up here. We do have more
- 25:37Speaker 4: sports to talk, believe it or not. We have a
- 25:40Speaker 4: whole NFL segment lined down to you about this yesterday.

- 25:44Speaker 4: everything made.
- 25:45Speaker 15: My bracket, but I have it with me at soulstairs.
- 25:47Speaker 2: You left your yeah just down, yeah, bubble down, yeah,
- 25:53Speaker 2: the other one you can play along with my bracket.
- 25:55Speaker 2: I'll put it between us here and I'm gonna try
- 25:57Speaker 2: to get you some headphones. But these are the ones
- 25:58Speaker 2: you tried to use the other day that fell apart
- 26:00Speaker 2: on you. So we'll figure out.
- 26:02Speaker 4: Yeah, we got some in you. Anyways, will I have
- 26:05Speaker 4: been so battered? Here, take this clock from me and
- 26:07Speaker 4: tell me commercials we're about to go into because I'm horrible.
- 26:10Speaker 2: Oh, I don't know where we are.
- 26:12Speaker 4: We're going into the five five break.
- 26:15Speaker 2: Okay, So what am I supposed to tell you?
- 26:17Speaker 4: What do you normally tell me when you're behind the board.
- 26:20Speaker 2: Well, we've got the NFL, We're going to talk to
- 26:22Speaker 2: Steelers and the Texans. We'll do our bracket predictions. All
- 26:27Speaker 2: of that is coming up here next on the zone.

- 31:14Speaker 4: raining cats and dogs out there right now. Yeah, it's ugly,
- 31:17Speaker 4: and I didn't bring an umbrella.
- 31:18Speaker 2: Well, I brought my rainjack. I've been talking my rain
- 31:20Speaker 2: jacket all day waiting for this, and I'm Mark, you know,
- 31:23Speaker 2: So between the morning show over on the Infomniacs, then
- 31:27Speaker 2: coming back to the Friday afternoon feel Good edition of
- 31:29Speaker 2: the Chip Howard Show, I'm sometimes I get a coma,
- 31:32Speaker 2: you know, or something, I get a little nap. And
- 31:34Speaker 2: so when I woke up from my little nap today,
- 31:37Speaker 2: I was expecting the front to push through and it
- 31:39Speaker 2: to be cool. And I looked at the temperature. I
- 31:42Speaker 2: was like, no, it is. It is not not quite yet,
- 31:44Speaker 2: not quite yet, but that'll that'll happen through the weekend.
- 31:47Speaker 2: So hey, real, glad we're back here, Glad to welcome
- 31:49Speaker 2: Riley on board. We had all kinds of great plans
- 31:52Speaker 2: to introduce Riley to the show here and what we
- 31:55Speaker 2: do on the field good Friday edition, and she wrecked
- 31:57Speaker 2: them all by taking a note time on them. But
- 32:01Speaker 2: that's all right. That sort of thing happens. So we're
- 32:04Speaker 2: going to talk NFL, right here, and we've got a
- 32:06Speaker 2: bracket that we're going to go into. And Ryan, I'll
- 32:08Speaker 2: let you decide do you want to go into the
- 32:09Speaker 2: bracket first, or you want to talk about NFL in
- 32:12Speaker 2: general first.
- 32:14Speaker 4: Where are we at right now, five thirty two. I mean,
- 32:16Speaker 4: there's a number of things you can hit on. There's
- 32:18Speaker 4: a lot of head coaches that have been fired this week,
- 32:20Speaker 4: like a lot of them.
- 32:21Speaker 2: Yeah, didn't Pete Carroll get fired?
- 32:23Speaker 4: He did get fired. He is one of the couple
- 32:25Speaker 4: big names, Mike.
- 32:28Speaker 2: He's the Raiders coach, right, Yes, that was Pete.
- 32:31Speaker 4: Yeah, Pete Carroll was the Raiders coach got fired.
- 32:33Speaker 2: And aren't they in the playoffs?
- 32:34Speaker 4: The Raiders are not in the playoffs. The Raiders were awful. Okay,
- 32:38Speaker 4: Mike McDaniel's the latest one to get fired. He will
- 32:40Speaker 4: good Dolphins coach.
- 32:41Speaker 2: He is out.
- 32:42Speaker 4: Probably the most shocking one of the week was Harbaugh
- 32:44Speaker 4: being fired out of Baltimore.
- 32:45Speaker 2: Yeah, I think it was just time with Harbaugh. It
- 32:48Speaker 2: you know, they weren't They weren't great this year. I
- 32:52Speaker 2: think he is. Certainly his body of work is one
- 32:55Speaker 2: that should be respected. What do you put in eighteen
- 32:58Speaker 2: years with them?
- 32:58Speaker 4: He won't be without a job.
- 33:00Speaker 2: No, No, somebody's gonna pick him up and it's going
- 33:02Speaker 2: to be a good fresh start. I think for both parties.
- 33:05Speaker 2: A little change of scenery for Hobbarr Harbaugh rather and
- 33:10Speaker 2: getting the opportunity, I guess to uh to try out
- 33:14Speaker 2: something else in Baltimore. But he's done an amazing job there.
- 33:17Speaker 2: There was a stat that I saw on the social
- 33:20Speaker 2: media's the other day. You know, I'm on some of
- 33:22Speaker 2: the social media's. I'm not on the Tiki taki, but
- 33:25Speaker 2: this video was the interview was talking to a number
- 33:29Speaker 2: of different head coaches in the NFL, and the question
- 33:32Speaker 2: was what NFL head coach has more rushing yards than
- 33:36Speaker 2: Bo Jackson. I saw the answer the action is Harbaugh. Okay,
- 33:45Speaker 2: that's the answer there. Yeah, it's a quarterback. He had
- 33:47Speaker 2: more rushing and Bo Jackson was incredible, just did not
- 33:50Speaker 2: have a long career and Harbaugh did. But yeah, I
- 33:53Speaker 2: think I think that's a good move for both of them.
- 33:55Speaker 2: So we got Pete Carroll, We've got Jim Harbaugh. Who
- 33:57Speaker 2: else in there?
- 34:00Speaker 4: Those are the the notable names I mentioned. Mike McDaniel's,
- 34:02Speaker 4: you got Jonathan Gannon is out at Arizona Raheem Morse
- 34:05Speaker 4: is out at Atlanta. Kevin Stefanski was out in Cleveland.
- 34:08Speaker 2: I never got McDaniels. I mean, he to me just
- 34:12Speaker 2: was a little too quirky and a little too different.
- 34:15Speaker 2: And I don't know exactly what went wrong in Miami.
- 34:18Speaker 2: I feel horrible for Devin h Chan or ah Chane
- 34:21Speaker 2: or a Chan in college. So I called him a
- 34:24Speaker 2: you know, his college coach called him a Chane. I'm
- 34:26Speaker 2: gonna call him a chan. Yeah, So at any rate,
- 34:29Speaker 2: I feel bad about him getting wasted essentially on another team.
- 34:33Speaker 17: Uh.
- 34:34Speaker 2: But yeah, I don't know what happened in Miami. I
- 34:37Speaker 2: just don't know. I mean, aside from the fact of
- 34:38Speaker 2: concussion prone quarterback. Yeah.
- 34:40Speaker 4: Well, let's talk about the teams that are actually in
- 34:43Speaker 4: the playoffs.
- 34:43Speaker 2: Okay, the teams that matters. I have to talk about
- 34:45Speaker 2: the Cowboys.
- 34:46Speaker 4: No, No, I have a whole bracken in front of
- 34:48Speaker 4: me that I at this time did phil fill out
- 34:51Speaker 4: before the show, not like I did with the college one.
- 34:53Speaker 2: Let's put a good five minutes into my bread.
- 34:54Speaker 4: Probably still gonna get blown up after the first weekend.
- 34:57Speaker 4: But you know that's the fun of it, isn't it.
- 34:58Speaker 4: So I guess which which game do you want to
- 35:00Speaker 4: start with?
- 35:01Speaker 2: We'll start with the AFC wild Card game. They're Los
- 35:03Speaker 2: Angeles Chargers in New England Patriots.
- 35:06Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 35:06Speaker 4: I like New England in this one, me too.
- 35:08Speaker 2: Yeah. I did not pick New England then, really Okay, No,
- 35:11Speaker 2: I took the Chargers on that one.
- 35:13Speaker 4: Okay, I'm not going to fault you for that because
- 35:16Speaker 4: there's really no dominant team I think on this side
- 35:18Speaker 4: of the bracket there's not a year.
- 35:20Speaker 2: So, and props to New England for you know, coming
- 35:23Speaker 2: back from the Ashes like the Phoenix. You know, there's
- 35:26Speaker 2: very direspectable, So props to them, and I wouldn't be
- 35:29Speaker 2: disappointed if they won. But I just picked the Chargers
- 35:32Speaker 2: on that one because they're favored by and a half.
- 35:34Speaker 5: Uh.
- 35:35Speaker 2: And so in the Buffalo Jacksonville game, who do you
- 35:37Speaker 2: got there?
- 35:38Speaker 4: I took Buffalo over Jacksonville.
- 35:40Speaker 15: Picked Buffalo.
- 35:41Speaker 2: Okay, both of y'all picked Buffalo, and so did I. Okay,
- 35:44Speaker 2: So in the AFC Divisional game there, then we're going
- 35:47Speaker 2: to say that it's going to be the Chargers and
- 35:49Speaker 2: the Bills.
- 35:50Speaker 8: Uh.
- 35:50Speaker 2: In that game Houston and yeah, okay.
- 35:54Speaker 4: It really depends on seedings. Because that's how the NFL works.
- 35:57Speaker 2: So all right, so Houston in Pittsburgh.
- 36:01Speaker 4: I took Houston here. I like that defense. It was
- 36:03Speaker 4: not an emotional choice for you, Ryan, No, this was
- 36:05Speaker 4: actually I think Houston will win because I Aaron Rodgers
- 36:09Speaker 4: can't run, he's not a mobile, he's old. I think
- 36:11Speaker 4: that defense is going to feast on him.
- 36:13Speaker 2: I think so as well. I don't think that Pittsburgh's
- 36:15Speaker 2: offensive line can hold up to them the defense of Houston.
- 36:21Speaker 2: Here's the only thing that gives me pause about that
- 36:24Speaker 2: is that Houston has won what nine straight? Yeah, you
- 36:28Speaker 2: know they're due.
- 36:29Speaker 4: Yeah, they're due, They're due. But I don't think it's
- 36:31Speaker 4: going to be this week.
- 36:32Speaker 2: Yeah. I don't think so either. So everybody in the
- 36:35Speaker 2: room here has picked Houston. Huh yeah. All right, So
- 36:38Speaker 2: that game will be Denver against Houston in the AFC.
- 36:41Speaker 4: Divisions, and this is what we're going to get kind
- 36:43Speaker 4: of different now because you have Denver in Houston. My
- 36:45Speaker 4: bracket is going to be set up for Houston going
- 36:48Speaker 4: to New England and Buffalo going to Denver.
- 36:50Speaker 2: Okay, well I don't know that. I mean, this is
- 36:53Speaker 2: what this came from. Prize picks man.
- 36:55Speaker 4: You said you have the Chargers winning, right, So I have.
- 36:58Speaker 2: The Chargers winning.
- 37:00Speaker 4: Okay, So even in your scenario, the Chargers would go
- 37:03Speaker 4: to Denver.
- 37:04Speaker 2: Okay.
- 37:05Speaker 4: The way the NFL playoffs work is that the lowest
- 37:08Speaker 4: seed that advances goes to play the highest seed in
- 37:10Speaker 4: the next round. The graphics a bit misleading. It's just
- 37:14Speaker 4: the nature of how the NFL playoffs work.
- 37:16Speaker 2: Well, you see, I should have paid attention to the NFL.
- 37:19Speaker 4: I should.
- 37:19Speaker 2: That's okay.
- 37:20Speaker 4: I followed the bracket like a no's that's fine. I
- 37:23Speaker 4: can guide you through this. If you picked the Chargers,
- 37:25Speaker 4: then the Chargers would go to play Denver. And then
- 37:28Speaker 4: you said you picked Buffalo and Houston.
- 37:30Speaker 2: So Buffalo and Houston would face off. What a classic
- 37:32Speaker 2: matchup that is?
- 37:33Speaker 4: That game would be played in Houston if it happened.
- 37:36Speaker 2: Good, because we all have seen. Actually, wasn't it Buffalo
- 37:40Speaker 2: that beat Houston on the Yeah it was Frank Reich.
- 37:44Speaker 2: Buffalo beat Houston on a comeback, defeating Warren Moon.
- 37:47Speaker 4: That's the Oilers. I know the history of that one.
- 37:51Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 37:52Speaker 4: Anyways, sas things are a bit different, I guess I'll
- 37:55Speaker 4: start with my divisional Houston and New England. That's actually
- 37:57Speaker 4: where I would have Houston, and I would pick Newland.
- 38:01Speaker 4: Houston has gone to New England in the playoffs and
- 38:03Speaker 4: it's never ended well.
- 38:04Speaker 2: Right, but they're going to host them, which I think
- 38:06Speaker 2: is great.
- 38:07Speaker 4: If if if it's New England, they'll be on the road.
- 38:09Speaker 4: If it's Buffalo, then they would be at home. It's
- 38:11Speaker 4: a whole complicated thing, but it's that's how would work.
- 38:14Speaker 2: Make this a whole lot simpler.
- 38:15Speaker 4: And then I would pick Buffalo over Denver.
- 38:17Speaker 15: Okay, I've got Buffalo going all the way to the end.
- 38:20Speaker 4: I have Buffalo going to the super Bowl. Really yeah,
- 38:23Speaker 4: we'll speed this up a little bit because we're already
- 38:25Speaker 4: at five thirty eight. Okay, I have Buffalo facing New
- 38:29Speaker 4: England in the AFC Championship and then going to the
- 38:31Speaker 4: super Bowl.
- 38:32Speaker 2: Okay, in my Super Bowl, I have got Houston in Seattle.
- 38:36Speaker 4: Okay, I have Okay, I have Buffalo in Seattle, and
- 38:39Speaker 4: I guess to quickly go through the NFC side, then
- 38:41Speaker 4: I would I would take Green Bay over Chicago, Philadelphia
- 38:44Speaker 4: over San Francisco, and the Rams over Carolina.
- 38:47Speaker 6: Uh.
- 38:48Speaker 4: Then I would take the Seahawks over the Packers and
- 38:52Speaker 4: the Rams over the Eagles. That would set up the
- 38:55Speaker 4: Rams and Seahawks where I would take the Seahawks to
- 38:57Speaker 4: play Buffalo in the Super Bowl.
- 38:58Speaker 2: Yeah, I could, I could see.
- 39:00Speaker 4: My main thing with Buffalo is that Josh Allen has
- 39:02Speaker 4: always had Lamar Jackson or Patrick Mahomes, mainly Patrick Mahomes
- 39:06Speaker 4: in his way. In the playoffs. He does not have
- 39:07Speaker 4: either one of them in his way. So I think
- 39:10Speaker 4: I think this is going to be the year for
- 39:11Speaker 4: him because I just don't trust that Texans offense enough
- 39:14Speaker 4: to put them past New England.
- 39:16Speaker 2: Yeah, but they've been a miracle worker this year.
- 39:18Speaker 10: Man.
- 39:18Speaker 4: The defense is great, and I'm not saying they can't
- 39:21Speaker 4: do it, but I don't expect them to do it.
- 39:22Speaker 2: Ryan defense wins championship, Yes it does.
- 39:26Speaker 4: But you have to score points.
- 39:27Speaker 2: Till it's original material for me, by the way, yeah,
- 39:29Speaker 2: sure enough. All right, So that's the way you got that.
- 39:33Speaker 15: I've got Green Bay in Buffalo in the Super Bowl.
- 39:36Speaker 2: Green Bay and Buffalo in the Super Bowl.
- 39:37Speaker 15: My brother is a green Bay fan, so it is
- 39:39Speaker 15: my mom, so I got to go.
- 39:40Speaker 4: With green Green Bay's been to the playoffs, so they've
- 39:42Speaker 4: got some of that experience there. So that's not a
- 39:44Speaker 4: bad pick.
- 39:44Speaker 2: It's not a bad pick.
- 39:45Speaker 15: I watched him win it when Aaron Rodgers was still
- 39:47Speaker 15: there a very long time ago.
- 39:49Speaker 4: And he's still playing football.
- 39:51Speaker 2: Yeah, amazing. How Aaron Rodgers came into the league in
- 39:54Speaker 2: what year?
- 39:55Speaker 4: God, I'd have to look that up, but it's it's
- 39:57Speaker 4: he's been playing for a while now.
- 39:59Speaker 2: Yeah, So I just I want to make the point here.
- 40:02Speaker 2: If it was two thousand and four, then Riley was
- 40:04Speaker 2: four years old when Aaron Rodgers started playing football sick
- 40:08Speaker 2: in the NFL.
- 40:09Speaker 4: Yeah, she's close. He was drafted in five so she's
- 40:12Speaker 4: very close.
- 40:13Speaker 2: Pretty close there.
- 40:14Speaker 4: And then before we go to the next break, I
- 40:16Speaker 4: also want to give Riley some of her flowers because
- 40:18Speaker 4: we actually had a text come in from Brad from
- 40:21Speaker 4: Royal Oaks who said, this young lady is a trooper
- 40:23Speaker 4: for still making the show.
- 40:24Speaker 2: Let me tell you what, right, but you're it, come
- 40:26Speaker 2: back in the game.
- 40:27Speaker 4: You have got the respect of our listener.
- 40:29Speaker 2: Respect respect. All right, So we're going to go get
- 40:32Speaker 2: into what do we got here? The what kind of report?
- 40:34Speaker 4: We don't have a Cowboys report because they're not playing, okay, so.
- 40:38Speaker 15: We just desive coordinator though.
- 40:40Speaker 2: Yeah, well they had to sacrifice somebody.
- 40:43Speaker 4: Did you see, by the way, on that note, Jerry
- 40:45Speaker 4: Jones said he wants to be the owner that wins
- 40:47Speaker 4: the most Super Bowls? Yes, I mean did he have
- 40:50Speaker 4: to catch Robert?
- 40:51Speaker 13: Yeah?
- 40:51Speaker 4: Yeah, so he's never selling that team.
- 40:53Speaker 2: No, and we're pretty certain that he's bionic, so we
- 40:56Speaker 2: don't know how long he's going to live.
- 40:58Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 40:58Speaker 2: Yeah, anyways, he wants that. All right, when we're coming back,
- 41:01Speaker 2: it's Cops and Odds. Man, it is America's favorite radio segment.

- 43:53Speaker 2: Riley had an er trip after a trip in the

- 44:04Speaker 2: Cops and Odds. So Ryan, you want me to lead
- 44:07Speaker 2: off on this one, Yeah, you can if you want.
- 44:09Speaker 2: You know my love for Disney right, sure, yeah, I
- 44:12Speaker 2: hate the place at any rate. This happened at the
- 44:15Speaker 2: Indiana Jones Adventure attraction in Disneyland Park in Anti, California,
- 44:21Speaker 2: on the end of the month. There, Tuesday, October thirtieth,
- 44:24Speaker 2: a group of four to six people reportedly attempt to
- 44:27Speaker 2: cut in line in front of other guests in the
- 44:29Speaker 2: standby line. When a father and the other group confronted
- 44:32Speaker 2: them about the behavior, a verbal argument escalated into fisticuffs.
- 44:37Speaker 2: We've got a regular old Donnybrook going on right here
- 44:40Speaker 2: at Disney, right, Witness accounts said. The victim's family state
- 44:43Speaker 2: the father was sucker punched and then repeatedly struck by
- 44:47Speaker 2: a male guest from the group that cut in line.
- 44:49Speaker 2: So the dad was like, hey, hey, guys, let's not
- 44:53Speaker 2: do that. You can't cut in line, and then he
- 44:56Speaker 2: just got waylaid man. That's not cool. Well now suffered
- 45:00Speaker 2: a deep cut above his right eyebrow and significant tissue
- 45:04Speaker 2: or a bruise around the eye as well. He required
- 45:07Speaker 2: four stitches and his clothing was soaked in blood. He
- 45:11Speaker 2: reportedly chose not to fight back. His wife stated on
- 45:14Speaker 2: social media that he remained disciplined to avoid being blacklisted
- 45:18Speaker 2: by Disney or having his family kicked out of the park.
- 45:21Speaker 2: I can see that I would not be able to
- 45:23Speaker 2: do it now. I actually came very very close to
- 45:26Speaker 2: a fistfight at Disney one time. There was a bunch
- 45:29Speaker 2: of Neanderthals, some guys that were hairy, and a whole
- 45:32Speaker 2: hairy family and they could scratch their ankles without bending over.
- 45:35Speaker 2: They were from like Appalachia or something like that, and
- 45:39Speaker 2: they we were sitting outside waiting for the fireworks to start,
- 45:43Speaker 2: had a nice little spot that we'd picked out I'd
- 45:45Speaker 2: been sitting on for a long period of time to reserve,
- 45:48Speaker 2: and this giant, hairy, hairy Neanderthal Appalachian family got in
- 45:53Speaker 2: front of us and stood the entire time, and when
- 45:56Speaker 2: I asked them to move, one of the hairy neander
- 46:00Speaker 2: all daughters in the group threatened to go get a
- 46:03Speaker 2: Disney person, and I was like okay, and the dad
- 46:06Speaker 2: was kind of bowing up on me. I really wanted
- 46:07Speaker 2: to take his knee out at that point in time,
- 46:09Speaker 2: but I didn't. I just like this, I remained calm
- 46:13Speaker 2: and to not get kicked out of the park, although
- 46:15Speaker 2: it would have been cathartic because at that point in time,
- 46:18Speaker 2: I had had enough of Disney. So at any rate,
- 46:20Speaker 2: Anaheim Police investigating the assault. We'll see what happens in
- 46:23Speaker 2: this case.
- 46:25Speaker 4: Yeah, well that was California there, and why don't we
- 46:28Speaker 4: go to Florida.
- 46:29Speaker 2: Let's go to Florida.
- 46:29Speaker 4: As Florida something going on there. This happened at a
- 46:32Speaker 4: construction site. It's quite the interesting history, I must say.
- 46:36Speaker 4: Polk County, Florida, thirty nine year old man was arrested
- 46:39Speaker 4: at a construction site after he was found trespassing near
- 46:43Speaker 4: a vehicle that resided in the unauthorized area. So when
- 46:47Speaker 4: this man was approached by police, he began to dress
- 46:49Speaker 4: in red lace lingerie before then removing the items. After
- 46:54Speaker 4: deputies ordered him to stop moving. He was searched, which
- 46:57Speaker 4: revealed a concealed firearm that was hidden neath prosthetic silicone
- 47:01Speaker 4: breasts that he was wearing. The man claimed he was
- 47:05Speaker 4: traveling to a costume party, but refused to provide location
- 47:08Speaker 4: details or answer further questions. The sheriff commented saying, quote,
- 47:14Speaker 4: a lace bra, a g string, and a hidden gun. Folks,
- 47:17Speaker 4: you cannot make this up.
- 47:19Speaker 9: Uh.
- 47:19Speaker 4: Nonetheless, he called the incident highly unusual. The man faces
- 47:22Speaker 4: charges including armed trespassing with a firearm, loitering and prowling,
- 47:27Speaker 4: and resisting an officer without violence.
- 47:29Speaker 2: Lots of lots of unpack here. The first thing to
- 47:31Speaker 2: unpack is the look on Riley's face. Yeah.
- 47:36Speaker 4: Yeah, that's Florida. They don't ask, it's just what goes
- 47:39Speaker 4: on down there.
- 47:40Speaker 2: The rest of this unpack is, I've had some creative
- 47:44Speaker 2: methods of concealing firearms on my person, right because you know,
- 47:47Speaker 2: with different you know, ways to dress, you have to
- 47:50Speaker 2: use different methods of carrying. Never have I thought to
- 47:53Speaker 2: tuck one in my bra all right?
- 47:55Speaker 4: Just yeah, I would have. I would have bet that
- 47:58Speaker 4: you had never thought.
- 47:58Speaker 2: Yeah that's Florida, Forest, Riley. Let's see what you got
- 48:02Speaker 2: for us and comps and odds.
- 48:04Speaker 15: I'm taking us to West Virginia. Where the great escape
- 48:07Speaker 15: The Dawson Dog.
- 48:09Speaker 2: The Dawson Dog.
- 48:10Speaker 15: Yes, he arrived at the Huntington Wayne Animal Shelter and
- 48:15Speaker 15: he was a brindle colored rescue dog named Dawson, and
- 48:18Speaker 15: he was missing. When a checked security footage, they were
- 48:20Speaker 15: shocked to see what they saw. The shelters shook shared
- 48:23Speaker 15: footage of the escape to prove that it wasn't a prank.
- 48:26Speaker 15: For Ai, Dawson used a combination of intelligence. Sorry, it's
- 48:31Speaker 15: making me laugh.
- 48:32Speaker 2: Yeah, and I just handed Riley this this story, so
- 48:34Speaker 2: that's that's.
- 48:35Speaker 15: It's a honest reaction. He used his pulls to manipulate
- 48:39Speaker 15: the latch with his locked kenneled door. He walked to
- 48:42Speaker 15: the shelter's front door, used his mouth and tongue to
- 48:45Speaker 15: turn the dead bolt. Once unlocked, he pushed the door
- 48:49Speaker 15: open and walked out into the night.
- 48:51Speaker 4: That is one smart dog.
- 48:53Speaker 2: This dog could run. This dog could run for political office.
- 48:57Speaker 4: Office.
- 48:58Speaker 2: Huh.
- 48:58Speaker 4: Yeah, that's incredible that he did that.
- 49:02Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, we're talking about smart dogs all the time,
- 49:04Speaker 2: but that is you could never keep that dog locked
- 49:07Speaker 2: up anyway.
- 49:08Speaker 4: That's like a Hoodini dog or something. That's what Mike
- 49:10Speaker 4: Bredman referred to it.
- 49:11Speaker 2: As that's fantastic. Let's stick with some animals, shall we.
- 49:14Speaker 2: An escape monkey causes chaos inside a Tennessee music store.
- 49:18Speaker 2: Cinnamon capuchin monkey got loose and ran through the Trade
- 49:22Speaker 2: Center music store in Morristown, Tennessee, early Sunday morning, causing
- 49:26Speaker 2: damage to the instruments and the shop. Apparently a little
- 49:29Speaker 2: monkey wanted to jam a little bit. Animal control initially
- 49:32Speaker 2: tried and failed to catch him inside the store. Later
- 49:35Speaker 2: that evening, Morristown police captured the monkey at a different location.
- 49:39Speaker 2: Authorities believe the monkey may have been stolen from a
- 49:42Speaker 2: farm in Alabama and sold to someone in Tennessee. I
- 49:45Speaker 2: did not know.
- 49:46Speaker 9: Wow.
- 49:46Speaker 2: I mean, I've seen a lot of interesting livestock in
- 49:49Speaker 2: those parts of the world, but I've never been to
- 49:51Speaker 2: a monkey farm. I don't know that I want to.
- 49:54Speaker 2: Monkey damaged items like guitars and other musical equipment during
- 49:57Speaker 2: its romp through the store. After the capture, the store
- 49:59Speaker 2: cleaned up and returned to business as usual.
- 50:03Speaker 4: All right, let's see where we're going now, We're going
- 50:06Speaker 4: to Thailand.
- 50:07Speaker 2: Oh, this could be worse than Florida.
- 50:10Speaker 4: Yeah, well, this is certainly a creative way to try
- 50:12Speaker 4: and get away with stealing something. So what we had
- 50:16Speaker 4: happened was a fortune teller in Thailand got arrested on
- 50:20Speaker 4: New Year's Day, and what he did is that he
- 50:22Speaker 4: predicted a woman would lose something valuable, then proceeded to
- 50:26Speaker 4: steal her phone.
- 50:27Speaker 2: Okay, so the victim night, well he was right, he nailed.
- 50:32Speaker 4: It, Yes, he did. The victim was nineteen years old,
- 50:34Speaker 4: saw the guy outside a temple and agreed to pay
- 50:36Speaker 4: for a reading. He apparently used tarot cards. The fortune
- 50:41Speaker 4: teller told her he saw bad luck ahead and that
- 50:44Speaker 4: she'd lose a valuable item in the near future. He
- 50:46Speaker 4: said he could prevent it for an extra fee, but
- 50:49Speaker 4: she wouldn't pay it. So she then realized her iPhone
- 50:52Speaker 4: was missing later that day, went back and accused him
- 50:55Speaker 4: of stealing it. He denied it and claimed he's just
- 50:57Speaker 4: really good at his job and that the prediction came true.
- 51:00Speaker 4: He even described what the quote unquote thief looked like.
- 51:03Speaker 4: Other people stepped into help, then dug through a box
- 51:06Speaker 4: the guy had and found the phone. She called the police.
- 51:09Speaker 4: There's no word yet on the charges he's facing them.
- 51:11Speaker 2: That's awesome.
- 51:12Speaker 4: He was right, though, Oh yeah, I was.
- 51:14Speaker 2: Yeah. So here's one that happened earlier today, a woman
- 51:18Speaker 2: leaving her workplace stumbled in the parking lot and fell
- 51:22Speaker 2: down and busted her ankle. No, wait a minute, that's
- 51:24Speaker 2: a different story.
- 51:25Speaker 4: Hey wow, I think whymes.
- 51:30Speaker 2: Not all of these are crimes. This one, however, certainly was.
- 51:34Speaker 2: We go to my home state, the third world country
- 51:38Speaker 2: of Louisiana, all right, oh boy, yes, this article describes
- 51:43Speaker 2: a bizarre incident. In November of last year, deputies were
- 51:46Speaker 2: called to a home in the Lynnville community near Mary
- 51:49Speaker 2: in Louisiana. This is in north central or northeast Arkansas,
- 51:53Speaker 2: not far from my family farm. They were called for
- 51:57Speaker 2: a trespassing complaint. A neighbor reported that a woman was
- 52:00Speaker 2: on their property after being told to stay away. When
- 52:03Speaker 2: deputies arrived, they found Aarin Sudden, forty one years old,
- 52:07Speaker 2: swimming nude in the neighbor's private pond. When ordered to
- 52:11Speaker 2: get out of the water, Sudden refused, telling the officers
- 52:14Speaker 2: she was trying to be a mermaid. After eventually exiting
- 52:19Speaker 2: the pond, they got I don't have video on this.
- 52:23Speaker 2: Deputies provided her with a blanket and tried to get
- 52:25Speaker 2: her into a home to warm up. However, Sudden sudden suddenly,
- 52:29Speaker 2: Cha charged at the officers. They were attacked by a mermaid.
- 52:33Speaker 2: I guess. Deputies used a taser to try to subdue her,
- 52:36Speaker 2: but she continued to fight back by kicking and punching
- 52:39Speaker 2: while on the ground. You know that if you get
- 52:42Speaker 2: tased and you're still going those are some good drugs. Yes,
- 52:47Speaker 2: there are some good drugs right there. Because of the
- 52:49Speaker 2: physical nature of the arrest and then at the time
- 52:52Speaker 2: spin in the water, she was initially taken to the
- 52:54Speaker 2: hospital for treatment rather than straight to jail. A warrant
- 52:57Speaker 2: was issued after her hospital release herself in on Tuesday
- 53:02Speaker 2: of this week. She faces a long list of charges,
- 53:05Speaker 2: including battery of a police officer, two counts, resisting an
- 53:08Speaker 2: officer with forced three counts, public intimidation, two counts, criminal trespassed,
- 53:14Speaker 2: and disturbing the peace. You know, you've got to have
- 53:18Speaker 2: some serious, serious bravery or stupidity to swim in water
- 53:23Speaker 2: in Louisiana.
- 53:24Speaker 4: Yeah, any water, much less saligators.
- 53:28Speaker 2: There's you just came to that realization all Riley just
- 53:31Speaker 2: suddenly wait, wait a minute, there's alligators.
- 53:33Speaker 15: Oh no, I didn't realize. I know that's they're They're
- 53:36Speaker 15: in Florida. I'm getting in the water or allegation.
- 53:39Speaker 2: No, no, you don't want to do that. Even if
- 53:41Speaker 2: you're a mermaid, I think you might want to stay
- 53:43Speaker 2: away from that sort of thing. Right with what you
- 53:45Speaker 2: got man, We're back to Florida with this one.
- 53:48Speaker 4: We have a mailman that is facing some charges. A
- 53:50Speaker 4: forty one year old mailman from Pensacola. This happened on
- 53:54Speaker 4: December twenty seventh when he saw what he believed to
- 53:57Speaker 4: be a porch pirate. So his response was to try
- 54:02Speaker 4: and run over this porch pirate with his mail truck.
- 54:06Speaker 4: The only problem was this porch pirate was actually a
- 54:09Speaker 4: ten year old child. Oh god, so that obviously didn't
- 54:14Speaker 4: go well. The police say he tried to hit the
- 54:15Speaker 4: kid with his mail truck to get the package back,
- 54:17Speaker 4: but luckily the boy was able to bail at the
- 54:20Speaker 4: last second. He ended up at the hospital with an
- 54:23Speaker 4: ankle injury. That sounds familiar. Look you got it, you
- 54:26Speaker 4: gotta be a This scooter ended up The boy was
- 54:29Speaker 4: on a scooter and that ended up underneath the truck. Okay,
- 54:33Speaker 4: so the worst part is the kid actually was not
- 54:35Speaker 4: stealing the package at all. He just dropped it off
- 54:38Speaker 4: at the wrong address. The boy was being nice in
- 54:40Speaker 4: bringing it to the neighbor.
- 54:41Speaker 2: I appreciate the fact that the mailman was looking trying
- 54:45Speaker 2: to look out for people, but he made a couple
- 54:47Speaker 2: of mistakes. Never take the law into your own hands,
- 54:50Speaker 2: number one, unless you have no other choice. And then
- 54:53Speaker 2: number two, you've got to be a heck of a
- 54:56Speaker 2: driver to hit a ten year old. They're quick, man.
- 54:58Speaker 4: I mean he was on a scooter.
- 55:00Speaker 2: So good job, you know, trying to get him. But
- 55:03Speaker 2: now that's crazy, dude. You don't run over you know.
- 55:06Speaker 2: Never mind, never mind. So many Florida. We're talking about
- 55:10Speaker 2: Florida here, all right, Riley, what you got?
- 55:12Speaker 15: So I'm taking all to New Jersey, Well Jersey. I
- 55:16Speaker 15: actually want to live there one day.
- 55:17Speaker 2: You want to live there?
- 55:18Speaker 9: There?
- 55:19Speaker 15: Or Philadelphia where the giant sports markets are. I want
- 55:22Speaker 15: to I like hockey, you know, I want to go
- 55:23Speaker 15: up there for hockey.
- 55:24Speaker 2: Okay, all right, there's lots to explain there, but continue.
- 55:27Speaker 15: Two vintage Mandolins were stolen from Lark Creek Music, a
- 55:31Speaker 15: guitar shop in t Neck, New Jersey. Surveillance video showed
- 55:36Speaker 15: a man slipping the instruments into his jacket and walking
- 55:39Speaker 15: out with them. So I had to look up how
- 55:40Speaker 15: big these instruments were, because I was like, hmmm, they're
- 55:43Speaker 15: actually not that big. They're only like maybe two feet.
- 55:46Speaker 2: They're bigger than a ukulele, a little bit bigger than
- 55:49Speaker 2: a ukulele. It's not something that you stick in your jacket.
- 55:51Speaker 2: So well.
- 55:53Speaker 15: A few days later, the same man quietly returned the
- 55:56Speaker 15: instruments back to the shop. He left them with a
- 55:58Speaker 15: handwritten apology note in said, sorry, I've been drunk. Merry Christmas.
- 56:03Speaker 15: I am a good man.
- 56:04Speaker 2: Okay.
- 56:05Speaker 15: We even touched chocolates into the instruments.
- 56:08Speaker 2: Okay, nice, just in time for Christmas. All right, time
- 56:11Speaker 2: for us to get on gone man, Riley, great job today,
- 56:18Speaker 2: Ryan Daniel, thank you so much for picking up the
- 56:20Speaker 2: slack while I was out there taking care of my
- 56:22Speaker 2: work child. All right, we will see all next Friday, Riley,
- 56:26Speaker 2: and I will see you on Monday morning, God willing,
- 56:28Speaker 2: if she doesn't fall down again on the infomaniac shall
