A 1944 P-38 fighter, flown by WWII hero Richard Bong, soared over his hometown of Superior, Wisconsin, in a rare and emotional flyover—marking the first such event in 15 years. Piloted by Steve Hinton from a California museum, this one-of-eight flyable planes brings history to life, while the Richard I. Bong Veterans Museum works to preserve his legacy both locally and abroad through “Mission Marge” in Papua New Guinea, where his crashed plane was found.
