- Roc: What's up everyone? Welcome back to JerseySwap. It's Rock and Dub And man, did we have a weekend of football? Today's episode, we're gonna do a little recap of week three of the NFL, talk about some of our college games from Saturday, and then we're gonna dive into tonight's matchup between the Eagles and the Bears. But man, we had some good ball this weekend though. C-Dub: We sure did. We sure did. I had some bad takes. I had some okay ones. Hey, and you know what? I never I never told you I'm giving out financial advice. I told you my t my takes that I like, and I'm gonna own up, I'm gonna be a man, and I'll discuss that, and I'm I think we got some good analysis for the games come games from this weekend, so let's do it. Roc: Yeah. Yeah. All right. Let's we can start with our little college minute from Saturday. Dub, how them badgers, man? Yeah, so this Saturday I was feeling myself I I thought I was getting surgical, thought I was getting sharp, which I was, honestly. I was getting into some weird matchups, some odd matchups, not the not the top twenty five ones most of the time. I was I might have been doing some FCS college football, not even FBS, you know. But I had some hideous, hideous bad beats on my end. I went fourteen for sixteen on bets this Saturday and w ended up walking away with zero dollars one. didn't win a single dime. I had two parlays and one leg missed on each of them. What are those legs, you ask? Penn State moneyline when they blew a seventeen point lead at home against an unranked Wisconsin Badgers football team and Old Miss Moneyline. Old Miss was underdogs C-Dub: Some ro Roc: it was part of my part of my dog my dog's after dark parlay, so I'm not as upset about that. But as a Penn State Nittany Lions football fan, that one's That one hurts. That's a double dip dagger into the back. A loss and they were the final leg of my parlay. So I had some brutal beats and I'm I was in shambles Saturday night. Like I was very, very, very unwell. C-Dub: If only Rock looked at the JSP Instagram account and saw my take. I honestly did not think they would win outright. I thought they would cover. But as the resident Penn State fan that you are, does Franklin lose that game? Roc: Honestly no, it wasn't even big enough. It wasn't even big enough to lose. The whole rep is C-Dub: It was not even close! Roc: the whole rep is that Franklin can't win the big ones. Wiscons that was Wisconsin's first win against a ranked opponent on the road since like two thousand and like fourteen or something like that. C-Dub: Yes. No, and my take was Franklin would never lose to a ten point dog at home. Never. Roc: It's ridiculous. It it's when they got a seventeen point lead. Seventeen point lead. And you blow it. Like I and maybe this is on me, I'll jinx myself, whatever. I was getting ahead of myself. I was texting Dub throughout the weekend and my last two legs of my long parlay was the over in the Alabama game and then the over in the Miami game. And I was texting Christian like, Yo, all I need is these last two legs, the over in this game and the over in that game, and and I'm set. 'Cause Penn State was up seventeen zero and I was like, I all I have all I need is their money line. Not like I needed their spread, not like I needed anything. I got ahead of myself. It's probably gonna be the last time I do that. But a as a fan C-Dub: Hey, that's what we do. Roc: too, it just it hurt. It hurt. C-Dub: And I'm gonna be hand up. I so Penn State gets that early touchdown, and then they have that pick six. I was at a I was at a bar with my girlfriend. And you know what? Beside the point, how are games just on peacock? Like like the bar couldn't Roc: Diana makes n no sense. C-Dub: even get the game. I'm watching it on a phone at the bar. And then Roc: That's brutal. C-Dub: now hand up I turned off the game after that pick six. I thought my play was cooked. I was so confident my play Roc: Well Doug, do you remember what I told you? C-Dub: was cooked. Yes. I It was it was madness. It was I turned it off. I went to go watch the Chris Hansen movie. Primetime, great, great film if you if Roc: Mm-hmm. C-Dub: you want to go see that one. Really good film. But I look like I'm not a big phone movie guy, but I went to go, I'm there's a little lull in the movie. I'm gonna go check check the game, and it's like it's like a fucking ballgame. And I am shocked. Roc: Yeah. I'm I'm I'm spam texting Christian. I'm like, my gosh, they're gonna blow this game. They're gonna blow this game. Penn C-Dub: You were. Roc: State sucks. Penn State sucks. But I like hyped for for Chris because I was like, yo, they're gonna cover the ten point ten point nine and a half spread, whatever it was. C-Dub: Yeah. Roc: And we're gonna both we're gonna both do our jobs. It's gonna be Penn State wins outright, but they only win by three or four. Wisconsin covers C-Dub: Yeah. Ugh. Roc: and I just got I I was I was I was not well. Not well, man. C-Dub: Yeah, yeah. Great college minute there. Great college minute. Roc: that was yeah, that was all I had for college minute, honestly. I got I mean we could we could have dived into it, but there was a it was a six slate. There's so many ranked matchups. Florida looks legit. Florida looks legit. C-Dub: So many good games. Tennessee, Texas. Roc: Tennessee Texas came down to the onside kick at the end of the game. Crazy. C-Dub: That was a dog fight. Did you see that the SEC ref said that that shouldn't have been like a recovery or something? Roc: I guess that there's no rule saying like 'cause I don't know if you saw but the Tennessee kicker drop kicked it. He didn't he didn't C-Dub: Yeah. Roc: do the onset kick off the off the T or whatever. But the the rule is that you're supposed to kick it from the thirty five and he technically was at the thirty four when he dropped it. Like he was one yard behind cause he was walking up and like did like a little punt kinda. So technically it wasn't supposed to be allowed, but they they didn't see it until like after the game. So that game was sick. Florida Dominated old miss, just BTA in that game. Georgia looks like a well oiled machine. Took down Oklahoma. What else was there? C-Dub: We talked about Wisconsin not Wisconsin, Michigan. That was one of those Roc: Wisconsin game. Michigan, Iowa was sick. C-Dub: and I'm gonna be honest, my favorite thing to see on Instagram is when we're like, wow, we're your team Super Bowl. You Roc: Yeah. C-Dub: have to be the most upset fan base to ever comment. Roc: Yeah, I know. C-Dub: Like, it's so funny. And then I would go under and just like all the ones that said you're a baby. Like they were like to Iowa, like, this is your Super Bowl. Like, dude, they just beat a ranked they beat like a better ranked team on a buzzer beater. What are you supposed to do? What are you supposed to say? Roc: In Mich In In Michigan. Yeah, in Michigan. On yeah, like who cares? Let enjoy it. Like the US D. Oregon game is good. yeah. C-Dub: And then all the LSU fans. Then the USC the the L the LSU fan the USC fans. That was quite something. The LSU fans were also like the Super Bowl to the about Ole Miss. But you got beat. You got beat. Roc: Almost yeah. Yeah. C-Dub: It's it's really funny. But that I watched the Oregon USC game. That was a great game. I mean, dude, d Roc: Demorholy. C-Dub: that that was that's one of those where online it's like you see like late slide all this, all that, but that was egregious. Roc: That was crazy. And the guy was celebrating after you guys suspended the game. C-Dub: Yeah, y I mean, rightfully so, just optics wise. That's just Ugh. You never want to see that. Ryola stepped up. I w Roc: Like he yeah. He was completely C-Dub: like I'm be honest, early on I I cashed out when I had plus money, but I had a play where I had Oregon, LSU, and Miami to make the playoffs. And then Roc: Mm. C-Dub: after Oregon lost that one game to was it Oklahoma State? Roc: Yeah. C-Dub: They lost that game I cashed out with plus money. And then so I've been I've been hate watching Oregon after that. Roc: Yeah. C-Dub: But after after that hit, I actually flipped what 180 to cheering forum because I wanted to see Ryol what's his name? Ryola, right? I wanted him to just ball out and he balled out. He bawled out. Dude that in like a half. It was awesome. Roc: Dylan Raoella, yeah. Mahomes two point Yeah, he did. He had like two two eighty nine and two tutties coming in. I know, coming in just for the second half pretty much. But Dante Moore might be done at Oregon. Like that might have been his last snap, honestly. C-Dub: Yeah, that might have been. I mean why why would he play another one? Roc: He was cold turkey and yeah, you you're already gonna be like a top five pick. Why why even go risk it? C-Dub: Don't yeah. No point. Roc: Yeah, good games all day. The Mississippi State Missouri game was sick at the end of the night. I mean, I had money on Mississipp State. Camario Taylor's a stud. He C-Dub: yeah. Roc: my gosh. Throws throws the ball. Ugh. He's he's I he's unbelievable. And they were they were one of my dogs in my parlay, so that game was sick. But yeah, some good ball the entire day. C-Dub: And that was our college six minutes. Roc: Yeah. Talk six minutes. Nothing wrong with it. With went from a minute to us just talking about bad beats, you know Let's dive into this late a little bit. C-Dub: Good ass games. Good games. Roc: so we talked about last episode. we did a little preview for the Falcons, Packers, and Falcons thirty five, Packers 14. C-Dub: Hand up, Penix is a one point five point guy. Hand up. and that's a bad beat on my end. I had some notes on this game from the beginning. They had that opening drive. I'm like, I might be sharp here. Van Ness was a dog, he was getting to him, and then then all hell broke loose. And then Bijan broke went off. And then I was just I was just sad. But it was a g great game other than that. I mean, great game for the Falcons. I mean it's it's good to see a team that's has so many weapons just get unlocked by one guy. Roc: No, yeah, the game was a lot more entertaining than I thought it was going to be. Like we we talked about it last episode. We we thought that the Packers were gonna get right game and it was gonna be kind of a kind of a snoozer, but we liked some player props that can get us some coin and maybe we were intrigued about seeing how Penix looked. But man, what a difference quarterback play makes. it's it might not even be the one and a half guys, just the fact that it wasn't strand or rush. Like C-Dub: Yeah. Roc: in Penix Penix played well. I said he he looked good after a sole start. He started C-Dub: He did. Roc: one for five with the pick and it was a little worried some. I was like, ooh, maybe he's maybe he's not that good, but I mean it's just shaking off the rust. Finally got playmakers the ball. Fed Bijan, fed Drake London. C-Dub: Yeah. It just yeah. It just shows how important a good quarterback is to open up a run game. Roc: Yeah. C-Dub: And I'll talk about it later, and I'm still waiting on some guys to like get their game their run game opened up, but just just to be a have a threat to throw it down the field a little bit with some of your weapons, it just opened up Bijan so much. And he was able to feast. Like we know he can. Roc: Going back to last year, I'm pretty sure in seven out of the eight games that Penix played for the Falcons, I'm pretty sure London Drake London's went for over like a hundred fifty in seven out of eight of games. He just feeds Drake London. He loves him. And the Falcons last year they didn't take any snaps under center. Last night or Thursday night, Penix took thirty five snaps under center, which is all he had last last year in twenty twenty five in one game. So you see like Stefanski's putting him under center and it opened up the run game. Bijan twenty nine carries for just under two hundred yards, two tutties, like with the NFC South being the NFC South and not a great division. This just makes it more entertaining and a little bit more fun if if Penix is a guy and I mean they're they're fun watch. C-Dub: No for sure. we both like Stefansky. He might not be he might not have been a bad person in the past life. As I said earlier. He might he might actually have something here. so yeah, I mean that was good. Packers Roc: Yep. C-Dub: might stink. Roc: I yeah, I said Packers are a total mess. They're their O line C-Dub: Yeah. Roc: their O line might be like the the worst in the league. Jordan Love was just getting pressured. C-Dub: They made Ulbrick they made Ulbrick look like the one of the greatest defensive minds of this generation. Roc: It's it's been like that every single week. Like I thought, okay, maybe just slow start, week one, week two, whatever. Get right game, week three. No, I think they're they're just bad. Their O line is a real issue. They're really missing Josh Josh Jacobs and Micah Parsons, obviously. But this they're just a they're a bad team. Like, not good at all. And I I think LaFleur's officially on the hot seat. If they go out and the N N F C North is a tough disf tough d division, if They go under five hundred and miss the playoffs totally, which is very, very reasonable to say with the way they looked and how the Lions, Bears, and Vikings have looked. I could a hundred percent see them canning him. And it they're they're a total mess. C-Dub: Yeah, no, they are. And we've talked about it. Like I think LaFleur's one of those guys he will get picked up quick, but it's just something wrong Roc: Yeah. C-Dub: with that team. Some th some gear is out of place. Something's not clicking. Roc: Yeah. Yeah. C-Dub: Let's go to Chargers Bills. Roc: Chargers Bills again. Bills twenty four. Chargers sixteen. I said Bill's got an ugly win. C-Dub: They did. They did. I had some notes on this game. I think Chargers have officially entered Bad Vibes team. Roc: Yeah. C-Dub: They've and I get scared for Herbert whenever the ball is in his hands. Like I'm cr I'm cringing watching him whenever he has the ball because you know someone's bearing down his neck, you know he's about to get smacked up, or it's just gonna be a duck. I think he's in his own head. Roc: Mm-hmm. Yeah. was out there just Yeah. Don't know if you if you saw the clips, Brady was out there just like absolutely trashing Herbert the entire game, saying he's throwing meatball subs left and right. He was he was on him. He was on him. Brady's bag. Brady Brady Brady's been in his bag the last two weeks, talking about Dak throwing C-Dub: That was a great call. That I l I I love Brady, dude. I love Brady. It's so fun hearing him. Roc: Dak throwing piss missiles and Herbert throwing meatball subs across the middle. It's it's like C-Dub: Yeah. Roc: He's his bag. But yeah, so Bill's got an ugly win. They had five turnovers, three fumbles, two interceptions. I mean, they didn't need Allen to be super superman to win, which is nice. That's C-Dub: Yeah. Roc: that's a that's a a plus in a in a game where they walk away with a win and it didn't look great. James Cook balled out, had a hundred and fifty rushing yards, but he was dropping the ball left and right. They they had to clean that up. But C-Dub: Yeah. Roc: when you can walk away from an ugly win w in a with a two score with a two score win, I I'll take it if I'm a Bills fan. C-Dub: Yeah, and it's one of those things where I mean as a Bills fan you kinda have to be I don't know if the word's excited, but you have to feel a little okay a little okay that your defense kinda stood up when it needed to. But again, this ch the Chargers might just be bad. The Chargers offense might just be bad. I don't know how much confidence you t you like a Bills fan would take in their defense, but at the same time they didn't need a big performance out of anyone on their offense that are are those superstars. Roc: Well, I don't get it. If LA can't win a game by forcing five turnovers, then I will will they be able to win a game at all this year. There's no there there's no excuse for i if your defense forces five turnovers in a game, you should win that game a hundred times out of a hundred. C-Dub: Hundred times. Roc: And to lose by two score or to lose by two scores, it's like or eight points, whatever. It's come on. C-Dub: Yeah, no, no, I get what you're saying. Yeah, it's it's it's embarrassing. It's embarrassing for a team that we had such high hopes for. Roc: Yeah. I I'm I'm good off that game. That C-Dub: Yeah. Yeah, I'm good too. Yeah, keep it moving. That was ugly. Roc: next game Browns twenty one, Panthers eighteen. C-Dub: Yeah, I have a take on this. I think the Browns are better than we thought. And I'm not sure if the Panthers are bad. That's kind of my what I took away from this. What what about you? Do you think the Panthers are bad Roc: I think the Panthers are like a very, very average team. They well C-Dub: Yeah. Roc: win I I don't think they're a team where you when I talked about it last week with the Saints or c heading in this week with the Saints. When they're favored, it's like, ooh, the br the Panthers are favorites. I I don't really like that. But if the line was flipped and they're like a three point dog against the Browns, I would have like, okay, like I I like the Panthers in that game. They're just not like One of those teams where I can confidently be like, I think the Panthers as favorites are gonna go out there and win a game. But I think they're a frisky, like middle of the pack. They're they're just a very middle of the pack team. C-Dub: Yeah. I agree with that. And I also begged the question last episode, is Deshaun Watson good? Roc: dude. C-Dub: 'Cause I think I think he's good. Right Roc: He C-Dub: now, when I'm looking at the quarterback play that's been in the league so far, I think he's a top half quarterback. Roc: I I talked about it last time. He just hasn't played much football the last five years. Like he had the suspension, then he had the shoulder injury, then he had the Achilles injury, then he hurt his Achilles again. Like he just hasn't played much football. And so now I think he's getting into a little bit of a groove. And the first half it wasn't anything great. Like the the game C-Dub: Yeah. Roc: was kind of slow. But the fourth quarter, he was showing shades of Houston Deshaun. C-Dub: He was, and that last drive was a master class. I mean Yeah. Yeah. And he ended up six Roc: Six for nine, seventy seven yards and a tutty, eight play, fifty five yard game winning drive in that fourth quarter. He was moving around. C-Dub: Yeah, he ended up sixteen for thirty, two passing touchdowns, forty five rush yards. Roc: Yeah. C-Dub: with the Browns defense that's pretty good. I think if he can do that every game, they're gonna be in they're gonna be competitive. Roc: Yeah. The the Browns defense heading into the year, I I thought that their defense was good enough to where they wouldn't be like the worst team in the league, regardless of how the quarterback C-Dub: Yeah, no, I agree. Roc: play or how their offense was. And we're getting they're getting good quarterback play now, so they're winning games. Is it sustainable? Like we'll see, hopefully. 'Cause I think it's fun when the Browns are good and when the AFC North is all they're all two and one right now in that division and it it's a fun division when everyone's fighting each other. But C-Dub: Yeah. Yeah. I'm st the one thing I am waiting on still from the Panthers is the Tet takeover game. Roc: Yeah. C-Dub: it's been a slow start for I mean, I still think he's their number one guy, but I mean he hasn't been. Coker's also been really good. But Roc: Mm-hmm. C-Dub: I just I'm just not sure. I mean, after coming off a pretty good freshman year, I thought he'd be a little bit better in the beginning. Roc: I my last note on this game is yeah, it's only week three. Like I don't want to overreact, but I I think I'm all in on Todd Munkin. I love him. At the did you hear his postgame speech C-Dub: Yeah. Roc: after the game? Dude, he's like gotta be one of the the best like players coaches in the league. He doesn't care what he says. He says everything with his chest out. He he lets his nuts hang and he talks his talk. He use C-Dub: He does talk as talk. Roc: he got Scrutinized for naming Deshaun the starter. After week one, the media again hammering him and he doubled down on it. He goes, Deshaun's our guy. He's just getting in, just getting out there, just getting in the groove of things. You gotta trust in it. And last week, after him going right at Mike Tomlin saying Brown's gonna brown this week, the media tried cutting him short with his postgame press conference, and he goes, I'm gonna stop you right there. How about the quarterback play? How about this team? I I think I'm all in on Todd Munkin. C-Dub: Yeah, no, he's a I mean, player's coach, that's a great word for him. I I think Deshaun's back and I think it's just good that like I mean, the Browns won and the the fans were cheering for him. Now you can talk about his off the field stuff, you can talk about all that. Roc: Yeah. C-Dub: I mean, it's good to see a guy who who nutted up and said, Hey, I shouldn't go against my own fan base and then goes out and just proves himself why he should be a starter in this league. I don't think there's fifteen quarterbacks better than him. Right now. I think it'd be tough I think it'd be tough to name fifteen that are better than him and I'll fight you on that. We don't have to do it right now, but Roc: Yeah. C-Dub: I'm just saying I think I think he might be a top like top half quarterback. Roc: I I'd have to I'd have to sit and think, but I I I wouldn't mind talking about that on Thursday's episode. Honestly. I C-Dub: I think we should. I think maybe we dive into that. the Browns were one of my dogs, one of my first dogs that I picked and they did they won outright. They win this game as underdogs again. I mean not by the huge point spread, but I think they're pretty good. Not pretty good. I think they're I think in a division that is wide open, and we'll talk about that division later, they they've got a shot to make some waves. Roc: Yeah, but good for them. Good game. Fun game. C-Dub: Yeah. Good for that. yeah. Roc: next game Lions thirty one, Jets twenty four. C-Dub: What was the halftime score of this game, Rocco? Do you know? Roc: I wanna say it was fourteen to ten. Was it seven ten or ten seven? Really. C-Dub: It was seven ten. It was seven to ten. Ten s yeah, however you want to math it out. It was it was that that low scoring game. And I think Rocky Gendas this is bad beat of the week. Roc: Yeah, I had a bad beat for my my live dog of the week. It was Jets plus seven and it ended up being a push, which sucks. But I mean, we'll take a push over a loss, but C-Dub: Yeah. hell yeah. Roc: I don't know if you guys were watching that game, that final drive I had really I really had hope for the Jets. They were moving the ball. Their offense was C-Dub: They were. Roc: fun. Gino was balling out. And Garrett Wilson and Kenny Sadiq were were just they were unguardable the entire game. C-Dub: Yeah. Roc: And that final drive, I'm like, okay, maybe there's some hope. They get they scored a touchdown prior, got the two point conversion, tied it up. Detroit went down in like five plays, Gibbs, touchdown. And now I'm like, Okay, seven point game, minute and a half left. C-Dub: Yeah. Roc: Come on, Gino. And they're moving it. He gets smoked on a blitz. Fumbles the game, but it's nothing really he could do about that. Just it just kind of sucks. It it was a fun game. C-Dub: think it kinda all game too. I don't have the stats on me. but I his line didn't hold up too well in the second half. Roc: Yeah. C-Dub: he they got to him. he played pretty per a pretty perfect game. His QBR was really good. Roc: He he had three hundred three hundred and twenty one yards, three tutties. He played really well. C-Dub: Yeah, I mean you can't ask them to play any better. And I think the Roc: Yeah. C-Dub: Lions offense is just good. I mean and that begs the question that I I wrote down. This might be a little silly. Is Jameer Gibbs too good? Roc: Bro, I I just said Gibbs is unbelievable. C-Dub: Is he too good? Roc: He it's it's crazy. The Lions' offense the last three years has been a top three, top five in the league. And Gibbs has been incredible. And that was with Montgomery as his handcuff, and they were sharing reps. I didn't think he could actually get much better than what he was already doing his first three years in the league. They get rid of Monty and he What a hundred rushing yards, sixty receiving yards, three tutties yesterday. He just every single week it's him and Bijan going stat for stat in who's the best running back in the league. It's it's actually C-Dub: Yeah. Roc: crazy. He's so good and golf you'll just force feed him. The the whole offense runs through him, whether it's whether it's in the run game or the pass game. C-Dub: Yeah. Roc: And it it it's fun to watch. I I said this game was was sick. A lot of offense. Aga again, the Lions offense has never been their issue. They're gonna score thirty points every single week, pretty much. You can you can pencil that in. The it just depends on how their defense plays and how their secondary holds up. Because their secondary's so thin and it's gonna be can you keep them can you keep the opposing team under thirty points, pretty much? C-Dub: Yeah. And I mean, this I think this is more overarching NFL kind of take here. But I think when you look at the best running backs in the league, they are it's what's the best safety valve for a quarterback when a play's breaking down. we pick CMC, B. John Gibbs. I mean there's other guys out there that do the same thing. Like Brees Hall does it sometimes, even though he got hurt. Shout out Bet Protect. Shout out Bet Protect. Roc: Yeah. C-Dub: but I I mean I think the running back position's evolving to a point where it's when all else fails, where c it's like the quarterbacks the quarterback knows the back is run, I can always go here. And it will be positive Roc: Yeah. C-Dub: yardage. Roc: It it used to be running back used to be the position where you're never gonna get paid and pretty much you're gonna get drafted, they're gonna use you like crazy the first three or four years, and then when your rookie rookie contract is up, they're gonna let you walk, they're not gonna pay you, and then they're gonna go and draft another guy. But then you see the revolution of CMC, Saquon, Jonathan Taylor, these guys that can go out and do both, run hard nose up the middle, and also be explosive in the pass game. So when you're out there, you're more than just a running back now. And you can see that the last few years, Gibbs, Bijan, Jeremiah Love, Genty this year's more of a receiving back than he was in college. In college, he was just ground and pound. That's the new way of the NFL. And all these guys are getting paid now. And it's it's fun to see 'cause it it is a very important position. It takes so much stress off your quarterback and so much stress off your offensive line instead of having to pass block the entire game and have defensive Defensive ends just pin their ears back and go right at you. If you can ground and pine because offensive linemen love to run block. They just want it they want to just run a defensive end over. C-Dub: Yeah. Roc: it last thing was Jets offense was really fun, but they lost Brees Hall and Garrett Wilson. At the end of the week, both week to week, Brees Hall with a quad, Garrett Wilson with a concussion. So depending on how they play next week I wonder what that line's looking like right now if both of them are are gone. C-Dub: Yeah, I haven't even looked. Yeah. Who they got next? Roc: I have no idea, honestly. Yeah. C-Dub: Hey, let's keep it let's just keep it moving. Let's just keep it moving. We're missing our stat guy, Buck. We're missing our stat guy. Guy guy that should be Roc: Yeah, he's supposed to make his debut debut tonight and he couldn't couldn't make it. No worries, we keep it pushing but Yeah, yeah. C-Dub: But hey, hey, hey, maybe next pod. Who knows? Who knows? Next game, Texans Colts, right? Roc: Yep. Texans Colts, Colts nineteen, Texans seventeen. C-Dub: Yep. I got I got something real quick. Texans D gets the ball at their own forty first drive first pla first drive for the for the Colts. They they get a big stop. They get the ball back. I forgot what it was, pick, something, fumble, whatever the hell you want to call it. Texans got zero points off it. I knew they were losing the game after that. You could have you could have you could have told me that CJ strap play out his mind. I knew they were losing if that's if that's if that is what that first drive's gonna amount to. Honestly, I just said if you know CJ Schott's playing out of his mind, he's never gonna play out of his mind. He got zero points when they're on the opponent's forty. It's it's sad. It's sad it's sad to watch such a promising team, such a team that was touted as one of the premier teams of the A in the AFC, just turn into this. Roc: It's crazy. I I I said it last episode, it's a loser go loser goes home game and both teams being 0-2. I said Colts found a way, they mucked it up, found a win found a way to win. Houston just has zero run game, in my opinion. Again, all running backs under thirty yards rushing. I think Montgomery finished with like thirty three or something like that. C-Dub: Yeah. Roc: Your your job is supposed to control the game, slow it down. Your defense is gonna do their part. Just all you need to do is f find the end zone twice and your defense will probably help you out, like will get you a win. And they just they they have no run game. And this is and three starts back to back years. Last year they made the playoffs and won a playoff game, so there's still hope if you're a Houston fan. But it's just it's it's grim right now. It's C-Dub: It's so grim. Yeah. The their D had I wrote it down, they had two fumble recoveries in a pick. And you and you you lose the game. Roc: There's no there's no yin and yang. No yin and yang from the offense and defense. C-Dub: That's a great way to put it. Roc: There's zero. It sucks. And if I'm C-Dub: It does. Roc: if I'm Will Anderson or Daniel Hunter or one of those DBs back there, Stingley, any of them, I'm pissed, man. They're playing their balls off each and every single week. And it's like the offense can't muster up anything. And it's been like this for three years straight. Three years straight. Houston's defense has been top five in the league. And it's like, just get a little bit of help, a little bit of support. And they just they can't do it. But C-Dub: None. None. I mean, that's a team that I would hate to be a fan of because you have s you have one side that historically isn't that fun to watch like a defense, like you don't usually brag about that, but that's something you'd hold your as a Texans fan you'd hold your hat on. You can hang your hat every time that that defense is gonna ball out, and they ball out, and then you just have to watch abysmal offensive play. Roc: Big win for the Colts. Shout out Sauce Gardner. First win in America in damn near se damn near C-Dub: Shout out. Roc: seven damn near seven hundred days. So shout out sauce. He's back in the in the win column. And it was kind of a big win for Steichen in the GM. It's C-Dub: It is. Yeah. Roc: th th there is a little bit of hot seat talk and depending on how the rest of this year goes, but it was a big win to get him back on track. C-Dub: Yeah, no for sure. For sure. Roc: Next game, dominant game, Jaguars thirty five, Patriots six. I I didn't even see much of this game, honestly, 'cause I was at I was at the Giants game and C-Dub: I was I had it on red zone and Roc: I just had Jags dominated. C-Dub: Yeah, the Jags played to the level we know that they can be. it's I think it's time to have a conversation. Like I think there's a lot of broken teams out there. And are the pats broken? Roc: Yeah. I I I said paths falling apart, question mark. That that was one of my notes. Are they like C-Dub: Yeah. Yeah. It's Roc: i and is is Drake May good? What's like I still think he's good, obviously. I like like no doubt just it C-Dub: I You have to you have to say that, but damn. Roc: and it's tough to it's tough to compare it to last year 'cause last year was such just such one of those like stars aligning years where he's going into year what was it, year two? year two or three, whatever it was, and C-Dub: Yeah. Roc: he balls out, finishes second in MVP, they get to the Super Bowl, come up just short, getting killed by Seattle, but coming up just short in the Super Bowl, and it's like, yes, he's good, but then this year he just looks like it's a total one eighty. And he had two interceptions, a bl a blood fumble today. I yesterday, I guess. He did one phantom throw that he had, the ball slips out of his hand and after the game he was like C-Dub: god. Yeah. Roc: There is blood on the ball. I I just don't know what's going on with him. And I was just like, is Drake Meg good? C-Dub: I didn't even see that. It was a blood fumble. I thought you said butt fumble there. I'm like, what did I miss? Roc: And no, like no blood f no, literally a yeah. He had a he had a phantom throw, went to go back, throw ball just slipped right out of his hand. He was getting memed about it the C-Dub: Yeah. Roc: entire entire slate and then after the game he like, Yeah, there's blood on the ball, it slipped out of my hands and everyone's like, What? But I don't know. C-Dub: Yeah no. Rocco, can you do something with me right here? Roc: Yeah. C-Dub: I want you to put the tinfoil hat on with me. Tinfoil Roc: I got you. C-Dub: hat. Was Racini feeding them information about other teams? Roc: That it's not a crazy take. That's not a crazy take. C-Dub: Like ha I don't know. I think there's there's two ways you can look at that. Rossini was feeding shit or this is Roc: Or C-Dub: I don't know some greater power saying this is karma for adultery. Roc: It's just yeah, it's night and day, man. And I I get I C-Dub: I they're cursed! I don't know! Roc: get the schedule I get the schedule merchants, don't get me wrong, like they had the easiest schedule in the history of the NFL last year. I get that. But C-Dub: They still beat I mean, and I get granted they beat a team without Bonex, a a Broncos team. And Roc: Indeed, C-Dub: they beat Houston. Yeah, I mean, Roc: It's like C-Dub: Houston who last year was pretty dominant going down the stretch. Even I mean, the offense was was better and they I g granted they had more weapons. But still it's like what's going on? Roc: I don't know. And I saw a report or like a not a report, but on my feed, 'cause last year when Drake may in the playoffs he didn't perform well, like to his compared to his regular season. And it was everyone was saying that he hurt his shoulder. He had like he was dealing with a shoulder injury. He took like an extra week off of practice before the Super Bowl last year because of his shoulder. And you you would think you would have the whole offseason if it was messed up to get that get that fixed. If you need surgery, get surgery, you're gonna have the offs whole offseason, whatever. He didn't get any surgery at all in this offseason. Nothing treat no treatment on it. And there's still questions about people are asking him after the game about his shoulder and he's not fully like denying it, but he's not fully saying that it's there. He's saying something but saying nothing at the exact same time. Like he's trying to make ex It's C-Dub: What do you say when you play like ass though? What do you say when you play like ass? Roc: but is he hurt? They I I cause the injury last year was legit. It it was real as it was reported and everything. But you have a whole six months, five months to get that figured out and get it fixed. And why is there still questions about it? And he's not denying it. He's not saying like, my shoulders he never came down and said my shoulders a hundred percent. He just says, You know, I had that shoulder injury last year and I I'm playing right now. That's all he's saying. So he's not saying nothing, but he's not saying something. But they need AJ Brown to C-Dub: So that game Roc: get back badly, to heal up quickly, 'cause they they need something. They're they have the bills this this week coming up, and if they get down to a one and three start, doesn't look too too hopeful. C-Dub: Yeah. mark this down for me. I'd have to take Mac Collins yards next week. Roc: Yeah, gotcha. C-Dub: Dude's a beast. Dude's a beast. That's all I got. That's all I got in game. Roc: Alright. C-Dub: Next game, Chiefs fins. Injuries suck. Roc: yeah, I say Chiefs twenty four, Dolphins ten. A went down with ACL injury and it's just out for the year. Injuries suck, man. Like truly. C-Dub: They do. They do. I know from going four Dolphins to three. I knew the only others I kn really know are w Malik, Dolchich, and then Ali Roc: Willis. C-Dub: Gordon. Roc: Yeah. It it sucks. C-Dub: That's all I got. Roc: He's literally the only bright spot. I just said kind of a boring game. Casey started off fast. Kinda let the the Finns hang around for a little bit in those middle quarters. And the third quarter is only fourteen ten. It was never like, C-Dub: Yeah. Yeah. Roc: like the Chiefs are gonna lose this game, but you look up at the scoreboard and it's like, how's it only a four point game? And then they closed it out C-Dub: Yeah, I Roc: and ended up w ended up winning by fourteen. Like it was just kind of a boring game. C-Dub: Yeah, and Kelsey looks so good. Roc: Low r lower surgeon. I mean, got married this off season, he's got a little pep in his step. He he's feeling good. C-Dub: He is. I mean, I have a question here, which is mental hospital take. Should the Bills throw the regular season game against the Chiefs? Roc: I mean every single year they w they they beat them. Every single year, regular season, kill the Chiefs. Come January, come I can't even say February. I don't know if the Bills ever even sniff February. But come January, C-Dub: Ha ha ha ha. Roc: it's just same thing, Mahomes. Mahomes, who's Josh Allen's daddy? Mahomes. C-Dub: Yeah. Roc: Even when Josh Allen goes on balls, I I mean it's not it's not the craziest thing. Rest up, take the C-Dub: No. Roc: L in the regular season and hopefully hopefully the football gods are on your side. Come C-Dub: They split! They split every time. I if I'm a Bills Roc: Come come January. It's crazy. C-Dub: fan, I want them to no okay, that's a crazy take. But like they split every Roc: That's Chris. C-Dub: time. That's all I'm saying though. Like if the Bills lose against the Chiefs, that's not the worst thing they could do. Cause the Chiefs seem inevitable Roc: It's crazy. C-Dub: right now. They seem like they always have been. And I mean I just it's crazy seeing them just performing at this level after Mahomes injury last year. Roc: And they're yeah, they're back like like they never missed the beat. C-Dub: Yep. They're back. Fully back. Roc: Next game, Giants twelve, Titans seven. C-Dub: Rocco. Correspondent. Correspondent. How was it? Roc: Yeah. Yeah, we we had boots on ground at that game. I was I was there and I'll tell ya, been to multiple, multiple, multiple Giants games in my life, and that was only my second victory I was able to see in person. So, you know, I I I was hype about that, but it actually was an electric finish. When Jayvon Holland picked off a ward at the goal line with the last thirty seconds of the game on the final drive, I've actually I haven't heard that place. So loud. Everyone was jumping after the game. They're playing Empire State of Mind. It's like the place was the it was bumping. I just said electric finish. It and it was an ugly, ugly football game. Don't get me wrong. We had the the North Nor'eastern hit Met Life pretty hard. You had some rain, you had some wins, and it was it was just an ugly get by it game. Do whatever you have to do to win. And the Giants did that. Jameis didn't perform great. Honestly, aesthetically, it was very, very tough to watch. I can't lie. But I I I said I was gonna give him the benefit of the doubt with the weather. But it sucks the side by side comparison of him and Cam Ward just throwing the football in those conditions. Like Jameis couldn't even throw the ball yesterday. He was like shot putting it. Like he was just pushing the ball, missing guys left and right. And like I'm not saying Cam Ward is good, but they were at least throwing he was at least throwing the ball. Like that fourth quarter, C-Dub: Yeah. Yeah. Roc: he found he he found his step and I don't know if he got a little bit more comfortable, but he was actually dishing it out left and right, finding Wandell, finding Carnell Tate. And so I I I don't think the weather should be an excuse for Jameis. It it just C-Dub: Yeah, no, that's that's kinda my thought there. Yeah, with Jameis. it's one of those where I mean, we're gonna talk about the big news eventually. Roc: Yeah. C-Dub: But it's one of those where like you didn't have to ask Jameis to do a lot there and you squeak out a dub. I'm gonna chalk that up to the weather mostly. I mean, grant granted you d you did say Cam Moore did find a s did find find a rhythm. Roc: It it really just because I I said I love Jameis. I want to give him the benefit of the doubt and that that weather sucked. Like, don't get it twisted. But like C-Dub: yeah. Roc: Cam Cam Ward was having having his day with it. He was fine. So it's just it it sucks that he just looked that bad. And then does does life ever get better as a Giants fan? C-Dub: No. The answer is no. I think the Giants are the team that was that their their their front office or something is most likely to consult with the Dark and Ruinous Powers, Epi. We seem like Roc: Mm. C-Dub: we just sac we're sacrificing our best players. And I know the MetLife narrative, but players get hurt Roc: But like C-Dub: but players get hurt all the time. It's just our stars. It's just our stars. Roc: It sucks and it stars. It's it's not like it's a third string inside linebacker. It's Brian C-Dub: And that happens to other teams. Roc: it's Brian Burns. Sixteen and a half sacks last year. Pro bowler, an all pro all pro player. Like it it's like come on, man. It like it really sucks. And it's an ACL out for the year. It I I I I I want to have hope for this team, but When you ha you have your studs go down, it's like, what are you supposed to do? And where's your C-Dub: Yeah. Yeah. Roc: head in like mental head space supposed to be at? It's like I I it just sucks. That's all I could chalk it up to. And C-Dub: It does suck. It does suck. Roc: all these injuries, I I I truthfully, I was talking to my uncle about it at the game. I I have a theory. C-Dub: It on me. Lay it on me. Roc: The E the Eli Manning Hall of Fame curse theory. Eli Manning, say what you want. C-Dub: Elaborate, elaborate on this one. Roc: Say say what you want. You could call him mid if you're not a Giants fan, which it's not a crazy take to say, but guess what? That brother has two Super Bowls, two Super Bowl MVPs against the GOAT Tom Brady. He was top ten in yards and touchdowns when he retired, and he never missed a start. Okay? I think the football gods are cursing the Giants until the NFL lets him into the Hall of Fame. The fact that all right, maybe Eli Manning might maybe he might not shouldn't have been a first ballot Hall of Famer, but go through the list of all of two-time, multiple-time Super Bowl MVPs that didn't get in first ballot. Okay? Didn't get in first year. Happens. Second year. Nothing. Didn't get in. What happens these last two years? Malik Neighbors. ACL. Chalked. Gone. Scataboo. Leg chalked. Gone. Dart. Knee chalked. Gone. Brian Burns. Knee chalked. Gone. The football gods are cursing the Giants until they let in the beloved Eli Manning. The son of a football family. The football family of the NFL, of the NFL history. The Manning family. The Manning C-Dub: Yeah, yeah. Roc: family. It's not like it's the Manning family and the the kid with a bum. The guy was a bum, didn't play. He was a Super Bowl MVP twice. Iron Man didn't miss a start in his career until he got benched for Geno by whoever was the coach at the time. I forget but if it was Pat Schirmer or if it was Ben McAdoo, I I I don't remember. Okay. C-Dub: I I feel like a curse like that should help us. It should it should it shouldn't be a bad thing for a Giants fan to wait for our wait for a great quarterback to get in. Roc: No, the the the football gods are cursing our team until the NFL does something about it. Until the Yes. Yes. The the voters. The the Hall of Fame the Hall of Fame voters. Who whatever it does. It's C-Dub: So it's the NFL's fault. So we should be mad at the NFL. Okay. I'm I no I'm with ya. I'm with ya. I'm not to get mad. Let's p let's pick someone. Let's pick a scapegoat. Roc: like it's just like come on man. C-Dub: Come on, man. Roc: That's all I that's all I can chalk up to that's all I can chunk up to for these issues because it's ridiculous. It makes zero sense. It makes zero sense. C-Dub: I love that theory. I love that. Roc: Workers. C-Dub: I love that. Roc: dog. C-Dub: Arvell Reese Demon. Defense, as I said, they nut it up in the end. Cap it ugly. Still no pass rush, but kept it ugly. Kept it ugly. Roc: Still no pass rush though. Zero sacks. Still no pass rush. Yes, get home. Get get a pass rush. You got four f four four first C-Dub: Get home. I agree. I agree. I agree. Roc: round picks on that D line. Come on. C-Dub: I agree. Naj Najee Harris, sneaky good, number two back. I mean it I think Roc: Got him going. C-Dub: I think the the more the bigger question is Tracy was pretty good last year. What do you do with him? What do you do with that? Roc: Like I like Tracy. Personally I do. But C-Dub: I do too. That's why I'm saying it. That's why I'm saying it. And he got so much bad PR for that one missed miss miss blocking assignment. Dark gets blown up. And yeah. Roc: He was in the Harbaugh's dog pound. He he he's in yeah. He's in the doghouse with Harbs because he missed the blocking assignment and you get your franchise quarterback who already has injury history, get you get him smoked. Blindside. So I it it C-Dub: Yeah. But again, that's preseason. I think with the backs that we have he is number three. But based on his play last year Roc: But he's more of a receiving back than C-Dub: based on his play last year, I mean I I thought he'd have more of a dominant role on this team. I'm granted, but Najee proved why he's a two, and I'm okay with that. But I mean it's just we have that asset back there that's now just sitting on the bench. Roc: I I love Najee and I'm glad they finally got him going. That they finally got in the rock because he when he was at Bama, when he was on the Steelers those few years, he he he was a beast his first four years. He's had some C-Dub: Truly. Truly. Roc: he's had some injuries. I I get it. Achilles, eye, everything. He's had some injuries and maybe lost that, but he looks good. He looks like he's the best shape of C-Dub: Yeah. Roc: his life since the Steelers days, 'cause he did get a little overweight towards the end of the Steelers before he went to the Chargers. And So I'm glad they got him going, him and Scatback, ground and pound, yin and yang it, ham and egg it. And hopefully Tracy gets more of a role because he is our best receiving back. In college, he was a wide receiver. C-Dub: Yeah. Roc: He he was a transition player. He was a wide receiver the first three years of college and then transitioned to running back his last year, got drafted as a running back. So he's obviously our best receiving back and there's gotta be gotta be a spot to use him. At some point and I'm just gonna trust the the coaching staff and down the line, hopefully when we get into more important games, he'll be utilized. But yeah. C-Dub: Yeah. Do we want to talk about the news from today now? Now that we're on the Giants? Save us to the end. Okay, perfect with me. Let's move on. Let's move on. Roc: I I think I think we save it. For the yeah, the last part. Yeah. Okay. C-Dub: Bengals Steelers. Roc: Yeah, Steelers thirty, Bengals twenty seven, dub, I'm gonna let you take the floor. Yeah, I'll let you take the floor. Yeah. C-Dub: Hand up. Hand up. I am an idiot. I am an idiot. Hand up. we got our vintage Rodgers game. I wish I was a prop there, you know. We got right when it Roc: Right on cue. Right on right on queue. C-Dub: right after I said it, Jalen Warren, 176 total offensive yards. What and then Darnell Washington is one one of guys I would not want to do an Oklahoma drill against if he had ten yards to start Roc: Dude. C-Dub: running the ball in front of me. Roc: The physics the physics don't even make sense. Don't even make sense. Like dude. C-Dub: Dude, not at all. The way he moves. He's a gazelle. He's a gazelle. Roc: He's he's like six eight six eight three fifty. He's literally just an offensive tackle that can catch and move. It's C-Dub: Terrifying Terrifying Roc: it's unbelievable. C-Dub: It is, it is. Steelers, they came out, they look like a completely different team. They DK looks serviceable. run game great. Roc: My my my note on that game for the Steelers offense because the first two weeks, Rogers was still throwing that thing. He was still tossing that pill around. The receivers just couldn't catch the ball. So they decided this Sunday to finally catch the rock. And look what happens. They go put up thirty points and they get a big time divisional win against Cincinnati. So if if your receivers start catching the ball, this is what their offense can look like. And Rogers C-Dub: yeah. Roc: like Rogers like post game he's like, Yeah, McCarthy said just let it rip, let it rip. So Hopefully this is more to comfort the Pittsburgh and more C-Dub: Yeah. Roc: what we what we see from the Steelers because yes, he's older now. He's what, forty one, forty two, whatever Rogers is. The game's so much more fun when he's just slinging it and he's not being so C-Dub: Yeah, he's he does his thing. Roc: cautious. Like these last three years, he's just been like thinking dump and afraid to throw interceptions because of whatever reason. He doesn't want to get hit or he doesn't trust his wide receivers. Just start just start airing it out. Rogers, you said it's your last year. What do you have to lose? You're in my in C-Dub: At this point. Roc: my opinion, at peak. At peak, Rogers, you're the best to ever throw the football. F best C-Dub: I Roc: to ever throw the football. You're purely the best thrower. You C-Dub: Hard to debate that. Roc: have nothing to lose. who cares? Go out there in C-Dub: Yeah. Roc: this final final year and just d start start airing it out. C-Dub: Yeah, now I mean I guess we'll go to the other side more on the Bengals. Roc: Yeah. C-Dub: if you told me that Joe Burr would have two hundred eighty two passing yards, Chase, nine receptions, ninety eight yards, a touchdown, T, six receptions, ninety yards, a touchdown, I would I would say it was a blowout. And now I'm wondering how do you lose that? Roc: Well, I think we might have gone ahead of ourselves on Bengals defense talk. And 'cause C-Dub: we sure did. We we sure did. Roc: it looks like the Buccaneers, they're just a bad organization. They're a bad football team this year. So that week one game, that we we got ahead of ourselves on that. And Texans are Texans on offense. Like realistically, they're so if you gave me that stat line from the Joe Burrow's career. the last six years and you told me that Burrow went for damn near three hundred, three touchdowns, Chase ten for a hundred and touchdown, T five eighty in a touchdown. I wouldn't even say it's crazy that they lose because the the d the Bengals defense is still the bank it's still the Bengals defense, I guess, at the end of the day. We thought that maybe this this year's different yeah, no. C-Dub: Is I'm just saying that 'cause we talked him up. We talked him up. Roc: That's what I'm saying. We thought maybe this year it was different. They made moves and they looked good. And I think Dex Dexter Lawrence had two sacks. Yesterday. So like he's he's doing his thing, X giant, like whatever. But man, Bengals defense is still the Bengals defense right now. And maybe they go make a move. I I don't know. C-Dub: From now on, I will respect the AFC North. And I Roc: Yeah. C-Dub: will not speak in absolutes about any of their teams. I wrote that down for me to say on the pod just to I would like to apologize for all the Steelers fans out there that took offense to what I said. Shout out Vinny. Shout out Vinny. Yeah, I know I did. I did. I did. Roc: Dub dub caused some heat from from the Yanzards, yeah. From the Yanzers. They they it cost some heat. But it's at the end of the day, Vegas knows there's a reason why the line was three and a half and C-Dub: Yeah, and now all those teams are two and one. And that might be the most fun division to watch in football. I am so excited for this division. Roc: Yeah. I I love it. I love it. I know this week we get Steelers Browns. I think it's Thursday night. So I I'm actually looking really forward C-Dub: I looked at that line. I looked at that line I I think it's Steelers favored by three points, I think. I will not give a take on the spread on that Roc: Yeah, I know what you're thinking. C-Dub: Sorry, I users That's all I got on that one. Roc: all right, last game from the one o'clocks. Commanders thirty-three, Seahawks thirty-one. What? What C-Dub: Wow. Wow. Roc: How? C-Dub: The thing is, I wanna start off with the Seahawks here. Sam Darnold, the TDs were amazing. First pick wasn't his fault. Second one was pretty bad at the end of the game. But like my one thing, my takeaway here watching that game is I just it it always amazes me how some of these teams, like, they're down a little bit and they do their last drive, and it just looks so easy. Roc: Mm-hmm. C-Dub: It looks so easy getting JSON the ball. Like Sam Darnold throwing the pillar round. I mean, it's crazy when it's so easy, but again they lost. to a team that everyone had r had written off. Roc: So I have my hand up 'cause I again I was at the Giants game, so I didn't get to watch. I actually didn't see like any plays from this game live. Like during halftime I was trying to look at highlights and everything. And C-Dub: And I wanna say last drive is in the drive that they scored the touchdown to go ahead, not when Sam threw the Stevie. That's what I'm saying. I I like the the drive Roc: Okay. All right. So I was gonna say Darnold Darnold C-Dub: before where they got ahead, that's what I'm referencing. Roc: Well, I I was curious because again, no Jaden Daniels. And when I saw that the end score was that the commanders were on top, I was like, How in the world? Like ac like truly, how in the world is that possible? Like it makes zero sense. C-Dub: Yeah. Yeah. Roc: And I was like, All right, Darn overturned I was like, Maybe he was a little rusty, maybe he didn't play that well. And I go and I look at the stat sheet and I'm like, Did the stats lie? He had three eighty and four touchdowns. He C-Dub: He did. Roc: had two picks. I he had a pick six, so I was like, Okay. C-Dub: the last last drive. the one drive before where JSN just gets in so quick. Yeah, Roc: Mm. C-Dub: no, it was it was a crazy game. Roc: I I think Seattle just just downplayed Washington. They Seattle's obviously been on a heater since last year. They were I think they won their last I wanna say it was fifteen straight games or sixteen straight games. Like they're close on on history. Like history was like I C-Dub: Yeah. Roc: think the Packers Packers won twenty two straight the year that they won the Super Bowl and then the year after they started off the year like thirteen or fourteen and all, fifteen and all. And so the the Seahawks were halfway there. I think they were at thirteen straight. So they probably just downplayed Washington, thinking all the starting quarterbacks out. They're d they're gonna come out with no juice. And they they played hard for Mariota. Got C-Dub: It did. Roc: got the win. I mean, didn't didn't fold their season fully because Daniels looks like he's gonna come back in three weeks, three to four weeks. They're at one and two now. NFC East, I guess anything's up up for grabs, depending on how the Eagles do tonight. I I C-Dub: Not really. Yeah. Roc: They might have just saved their season right there, as crazy as says as it sounds, 'cause it's only week three, but getting the win against Super Bowl champs, it's that's a big deal. And C-Dub: it's a huge deal. Got a blind resume for you, Rocco. Roc: yeah. C-Dub: QB one, one hundred and eighty three yards, nineteen of thirty one, three passing touchdowns, zero interceptions. Quarterback two, one hundred seventy four yards, sixteen of twenty six, zero touchdowns, two interceptions. Who's QB From this game. Roc: B one? C-Dub: one guy from another game this year. Another game this week, I mean. Roc: was it? okay. Ma Mariota probably is is the first one. C-Dub: Yes. Roc: QB QB one and QB two picks. Was no. C-Dub: Zero touchdowns. Zero touchdown pa passing touchdowns. Roc: Josh Allen. C-Dub: Josh Allen. If I am the commanders Hindsight twenty twenty. I mean, you got a serviceable bac serviceable backup. I know Jane's going week to week. I mean, do you tell him to get the damn surgery? Roc: I C-Dub: I know we're at this point where it's not even a question at this point. If you He's he's going b he's week to week and he's rehabbing Roc: Yeah. C-Dub: that back. But at this point, Mario do Mariota looked poised, he was moving around, getting scary Terry activated. I mean Roc: It's it's also Daniels isn't what twenty-four years old. Get the surgery now so it doesn't just keep on popping out every four weeks. Yeah. C-Dub: And it's a terrible watch. It's a terrible watch. Roc: And then Fox just shows the replay in slow-mo of his elbow just absolutely being just popped out. C-Dub: And I wanna and I wanna puke. Roc: Yeah, and it's like why just just get the surgery. All right. If you gotta throw the year, then you you throw the year, I guess. But you were reluctant to do it last year, and your season wasn't anything, it was a nothing season. You tried coming back, they didn't let you, but you didn't want to get surgery, didn't do it in the offseason. shocker, week two, the exact same thing happens. Don't be dumb. Just get the surgery and and actually heal up and be good to go by next year. C-Dub: the only reason I'm saying this is because Mariota played like a vintage Mariota. A Heisman vintage w yeah, he played a great game. Yeah, I would have been the exact opposite. And that's how football goes, and I'm an idiot. I said it earlier, I'm an idiot. It sure is. It sure Roc: A good game, yeah. If he went out there and put up a dud, it would have been a totally different story. But hey, that's how it's a week to it's a week to week league, man. It's a week to week league. C-Dub: is. it's stupid to let your quarterback who has this one injury pop up again and again when he's still so young on a rookie contract to try and force hims force his way back in there on a season where you're not really chalking much up to it. Roc: Yeah. I I do have one more note on this game and then just a little shout out. so obviously we JSN we already talked about he he's ridiculous. He had ten for a hundred and twenty eight and two tutties. You wanna know what he's on pace for? Granted, we're only through three weeks. C-Dub: Tell me. Tell me. Roc: JSN's pace for a twenty twenty six season, a hundred and fifty three receptions would be the most in the NFL. Two thousand two hundred and ninety five receiving yards would be the most in the NFL. And thirty-four touchdowns receiving would be the most in the NFL. What? And he's doing that with the he's doing C-Dub: Dude dude, you don't have to tell me I have my two fantasy teams. You don't gotta tell me. Roc: that with the first two weeks with Drew Locke as the backup. Like w like I obviously we're only in th through three weeks, but how after last year offensive play of the year and putting up those unbelievable numbers, he follows it back up this year with even better numbers. It's C-Dub: Yeah. Roc: It's incredible to watch and he's so smooth. I I just wanted I wanted to throw that out there. And since we talked about it earlier and we're we're getting off this game, we're in the big twenty twenty six and we had Mariota and Jameis Winston starting this week. Big shout out. Big shout out C-Dub: Chao! Roc: to them. I mean, and you think about it. Twelve C-Dub: Ugh, good to see unks doing unk things. Roc: twelve years deep in the league and they're still kicking it. I mean, you you gotta love that. C-Dub: Love it. You do. Two wins. Two wins. Roc: Moving on to the four o'clock games. C-Dub: Yeah. Roc: We had the forty niners thirty-six, Cardinals thirty, and dub. Do you hear that? C-Dub: Dogs dogs ate. I just hear the dog the dogs aren't even barking. They're just they're fed. They're well fed. The Cardinals, they continue Roc: All right, I love that. Take the floor. C-Dub: to be a fun watch. and I I I and created my dog hit, but I'm at the point now where I I want Marvin Harrison to be good. we're getting to the point where I think it's very tough with who they have with with Wilson and McBride. Those are two mouths that you feed and you consistently feed because you know they're gonna give you a good return. I think it's just tough for him to fit in here, and I'm not sure if it's he's bad. But but I mean McBride gets damn near ten receptions a game. And Wilson will break off a few if you get him to rock. So I mean, I don't know if it's he's that bad. I don't bet him because of those guys. Roc: Well, here's my take on it, 'cause yes, he came in the league, top five pick, like was supposed to be the best receiver since Megatron, like started at Ohio State, don't get wrong. And he looks like he's just disinterested right now, but I think the media's blowing it up a little bit more than we should be. Michael Flore, their new head coach in Arizona, was the offensive coordinator in LA with the Rams, and he's talked about it. When you have that many mouths to feed, the way he runs his offense is each guy has a specific job. And he's not worried about Marvin Harrison. He's just doing his job. And Jacoby Brissett's number one, Michael Wilson. Trey McBride, number one, actually number one option, Trey McBride, number two, Wilson. Then you got Jeremiah Love. Like he compared it to Devontae Adams last year. Like you have Puka, who's obviously number one. He's gonna get fed. Then you have all seven of the tight ends that the Rams have that they just throw the ball around to. Then you have Kyron Williams, Blake Corham running the rock back there. And you have Devontae Adams who they used pretty much last year as a goal line threat and touchdown merchant. That's just his role in this offense. And it sucks. And it yeah, when there's nobody and it C-Dub: And and now he's feasting. And now he's feasting when there's no other one with p with Puka out. Roc: and it it sucks for Marvin Harrison because he did come in the league with all these high expectations and Everyone's just like, what happened to him? What happened to him? I I really don't think it's anything to what happened to him. It's just the system that he's in. And yeah, it sucks for fantasy owners for him. And maybe it sucks C-Dub: Does. Yeah. Roc: for like his stat line and his career like accolades. But I I think it might be just blown a little out of proportion by the media and by fans like our ourselves saying like what's what's wrong with him. Like I there's C-Dub: Yeah, no for sure. Yeah. Roc: crazy takes that People are like, the Cardinals should start fielding trade offers for him. Like what team would go and get him? C-Dub: Yeah, no that's wild. Roc: It's way too early to give up on him right now, especially when he's doing his job by what the head coach wants. Like the the head coach wants him to be doing this and he's doing his job. So I I don't see any reason to why people would go that far on the end of the spectrum C-Dub: Yeah. Roc: saying trade him. C-Dub: Mm. I agree. I agree. And some other notes, the Niners, I mean, they're electric. Brock Purdy, electric. I feel like Kittle can play forever. Roc: It's crazy. He looks so good. C-Dub: He looks so good. It's like it's like Kelsey. It's like these older tight ends. They just they get they it's these guys that know where to sit. Where to sit in a zone, get Roc: Eight months removed. C-Dub: open, and just eat up yards. Roc: Eight months removed from an Achilles injury. Back in the day, they not even back in the day, five years ago, that used to be like a 16 month injury. You'd be out for a year and a half, especially in C-Dub: Yep. Yep. Roc: a in a game like like football. And he comes back in eight months. It looks like he's better than he's been the last three years. Like he looks healthy, he looks good, he looks fresh. And yeah, I said Niners did their job, but they got banged up along the way. They lost Mike Evans, Trent Williams, and Dre Gl Greenlaw all in this game. C-Dub: Yeah. Roc: And that's the Niners question each and every year, can they stay healthy? Bosa didn't even play at a calf injury. So those three that went out in the game, I think they're like week to week. So I don't think it was anything crazy. Evans was a rib injury, Trent Trent was a stinger, and Greenlaw was a quad. Bosa is a calf. That's you don't want to mess around with that 'cause calf goes into Achilles. But I I hope they stay healthy because they're they're such a good team. C-Dub: Yeah. I do too. Yeah. we need to figure out a a a way to stop stingers. Roc: Yeah, the Saquon one last week. This one it's I mean, C-Dub: What what are we Roc: maybe you start rocking the little neck pad that they used to rock the fullback rocks back in the day. C-Dub: I don't know. I don't know. I don't know what it is. You don't hear that much much, but it's been two two straight weeks of someone going out with stingers. Roc: Yeah. you C-Dub: Strange. Roc: you you marked on it, but Purdy looks like an MVP right now. C-Dub: He does. I have a fun comparison. I think I don't know when I wrote this. It might have been late last night. It might have been just like a fever dream. Jacoby Brissett to Geno Smith is Drake made of Brock Purdy. Roc: Google said that Geno Smith is Drake p Drake made a black black pretty a I love it. C-Dub: I I I just came up with that. I feel like Jacoby Brissett and Geno Smith are two guys. Similar playstyle. Can i can put some air under it. More game managers. And they do they do damn good job at that. I think then you go Drake made a Brock Purdy. Brock Purdy's a monster and they have similar playstyles, Roc: Purdy's like i he gets he gets bro. C-Dub: but I think Drake made you want to play like Brock. Roc: It it's like people will say, well, he's in Kyle Shanahan's offense. Any quarterback can be good in that offense. But Purdy's actually fun to watch. Like, he gets this like C-Dub: He's so fun man. He's a monster. Roc: he gets written off because he's what? Mr. what's the last pick in the draft? Mr. C-Dub: Irrelevant. Irrelevant. Roc: Irrelevant, a little bit smaller, white dude, whatever. Comes out of Iowa State. Like he's electric to play, he's moving around, he's dropping his arm angle. C-Dub: That is awesome! Roc: He's he's he making plays. He had three hundred yards, four touchdowns yesterday. He leads the league, tied leads the league in touchdown passes. And C-Dub: Yeah. Roc: he he he's a fun watch. He's not a system quarterback. He's not a system quarterback. C-Dub: It's a great watch. Not at all. Not at all. I I completely agree. Roc: Alright, next we got the Vikings twenty three, Buccaneers sixteen, and I just said, ugly game, Buccaneers are just a bad team. C-Dub: They are a bad team. And I think I'm gonna hang my hat on this take that I had. I don't think they have a one receiver. Ibuka had Roc: Yeah, you said it you said it. C-Dub: Abuka five for sixty two. I mean, we had a lot more hope on this team in him and Baker having that c having a a connection or something. Chris Godwin played pretty well, but he didn't do better than Abuka. I mean, I it's just it's a bad vibes team. It's a bad vibes team. And the crazy part was, like Their defense, I don't think, played pr they they played pretty well, but they had that one pick Roc: Yeah. C-Dub: six in the beginning. And it's like in my in my head, it's like I I I kept like my head had a different score than the screen because that pick six was so quick. Roc: Mm-hmm. C-Dub: And I think that kind of changes the whole vibe of the game. They couldn't get Bucky going because they had to start going air raid. It's one of those things where I think it's just they're shooting themselves in the foot team because they're a bad vibes team. It's just bad vibes all around. Roc: Yeah. C-Dub: They're just they're just not a fun watch any through any any section of the game. Roc: Just everything from the end of last year coming into this year, when you didn't want to pay Baker, you didn't want to pay Vitavea, and you didn't fire Todd Bowles. Now like Karma's Karma's kicking you in the ass, honestly. You your franchise guy, a franchise quarterback who has been balling out the last three years, you said, nah, we're good. We don't want to pay him. Vita Vea, who's been your best player overall on your team since he got undrafted, nah, we good. We're not gonna pay him. And Todd Bulls being kept in that position after ha he's been the head coach for five years now and he has a under five hundred record and he's won that division like twice. He's not a good coach, like at all. So it C-Dub: Yeah. Not at all. Terrible. Roc: it's it's just you it's coming to light right now and all I had on that game was Vikings D, big plays with a difference maker in this game, and Jed has went C-Dub: Yeah. They got to bake at all times. Roc: Jettas went down with an ankle, didn't come back. Hopefully it's nothing crazy. C-Dub: Madison though. Whew. Guy can ball. Guy can ball. Roc: Yeah. And Baker Baker dislocated his thumb. He's gonna be out probably three three plus weeks. So C-Dub: Yeah, I will say I did say that Vik that the Bucks are a bad vibes team. They're also a one one team of always having a lardass on the on the nose and just that that Simmons guy just having the biggest body that you could possibly have in a human being just on the line. And I love it about Roc: Yeah. C-Dub: the Bucks. That's one consistent thing they have. There's an absolute tank of a man. Just taken Roc: Get the big fellows out there. C-Dub: up the middle of the of the run. I love that. I mean Again, I don't have much else on this game. I mean it was a stinker to watch. I didn't know who the backup was they brought in for the Bucks, the Daniels guy. Roc: Yeah. I that's a I know Ja Jalen Daniels, Kansas, stud at Kansas, not stud, but electric. He's a fun player. He'll actually be fun. C-Dub: Dude He threw it He he got it down to the down to around the end zone on that Helmara I'll give him that's all I wrote about him. Roc: Dude, he he I thought they were gonna do like a little quick pass and then get out of bounds and then take a helmetary shot. They're nah, let's just throw the ball from the thirty yard line. I threw it seventy yards and to the like the two yard line almost in the end zone. Yeah. No, he C-Dub: It landed on the five. It was insane. Yeah. Roc: he's fun. Is he good? we don't know, but he he's definitely he'll definitely he'll definitely be electric to watch. Like it'll be fun. all right. C-Dub: begs the question. Yeah, no that's all I got in this game. Roc: Next game, Raiders, thirty five, Saints twenty seven. The Raiders. C-Dub: The Ratus. I think that was a really good that was one of the games where we had two gr two good QBs playing against each other. That were both in a rhythm. Roc: Yeah. I said I said just Raiders are they're a good team, period. I think they're just a good team. I C-Dub: Yeah. I had serious conversation time. Yeah. Roc: I I said how good? The tough part of their schedule is coming up right now. They're and it will show us it'll either make or break. They're either gonna show us that okay, they're actually a good team in the NFL and you know, they they can go out there any given Sunday and get a win, or they're gonna fold like a cheap lawn chair. They play the Chiefs. Then the Bills, then the Jets, sneaky, then the Pats, then the Rams, C-Dub: Ha ha. Roc: then the Niners. Chiefs, C-Dub: Yeah. Roc: Bills, Jets, Pets, Rams, Niners. That's like that's a low key a gauntlet of a of a stretch there for them. So C-Dub: Yeah. Roc: I said they're a good team. How good? Their schedule will show us. C-Dub: It will get proven. Yeah. what do I got here? Yeah. I think I think are th I think kind of going off that, are the Raiders good? Looking back, they played just two bad teams their first two games. And then they beat the Saints, which I would consider to be a better team. So I Roc: Yeah. C-Dub: mean I guess as you said, the schedule will prove it. Roc: yeah. And sh shout out Kirk Coach. Another three touchdown C-Dub: Oof. Roc: game. He's had three TDs in all three games. Leading the league in touchdowns with Purdy. So shout out to him. He's still kicking it. Kupjak, C-Dub: yeah. Roc: new coach, he's showing that he's, you know, he knows what he's doing. And Bauer's return, he didn't skip a beat. Ten for a hundred sixteen in a tutty. He's a dog. C-Dub: Dog. Roc: So, I mean, I I think the Raiders are a good team, and I I said Shuck and Olave connection is just really damn good. It's a really damn good connection. C-Dub: Yeah. Yeah. And you kind of mentioned it with the Raiders playing the Chiefs next. Chiefs? I looked at that spread, 'cause I'm a sicko. Chiefs minus five and a half. Dogs are barking. Dogs aren't barking. We'll have a decision, but dogs are barking there. Dogs are barking. Roc: Really. Really. C-Dub: Yeah. Dogs are barking. That's all I got. Roc: yeah, next next game. I I I called it on last episode. Personally I think this was the game of the week. Ravens thirty C-Dub: And it was. Roc: four, Cowboy Cowboys thirty one. This this was the game of the game of the week. This is just a fun watch. C-Dub: This was a game where I almost almost felt bad for the Cowboys, but that was an awesome ending. Roc: What I I I was telling I I texted my family group chat this and as a Giants fan and obviously Giants are rivals with the Cowboys NFC East divisional rival. I I love the Cowboys. Their offense is so much fun to watch and I can always rely on them to somehow just lose the game. So I can enjoy C-Dub: Yeah. Roc: watching them without actually having to be like, my gosh, they're gonna win. Like they're gonna win. somehow, some way, their defense or their coaching, their decision making, somehow, some way, they're just gonna end up losing the game. But I get to watch Dak throw for 300 yards, CD get 150 and a touchdown, pickens go for a hundred and try and kick someone in the face. Like they're just a fun team. And it makes it better that they they C-Dub: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, no, it was another one of those games where I wrote down their top three and I'm like, How do they lose that? with Pickens, Lamb, and Dak. Roc: D I I said they're obviously their defense and poor decision making. They C-Dub: Their defense, but like they had that fore and out early on in the game and I'm like, Is the impossible happening? Are we witnessing it with my with our own two eyes? And then it went back to the status quo. Roc: It was the decision making, the final drive of the game for them, they got the ball with a minute and thirty seconds left to the final drive. And for some reason, they just seemed like 'cause at the time it was it was thirty one to twenty twenty-eight, the Ravens. It it seemed like they were playing like they were only down by two or they were only down by one, and they were fine with taking a field goal in regulation. Like they drew just banking on overtime. They had the ball at the twenty nine yard line. The Ravens, the opposing 29-yard line, 10 yards away from the red zone, with a minute and nine seconds left. They had a few chunk plays, got down the field, had the ball within the 30 with a minute and nine seconds left. The very next play, they snapped the ball and there was 28 seconds left on the clock. They let a whole 45-50 seconds go. And that next snap was the ball was only on the 22-yard line. It's not like they got down to the five yard line and there was twenty eight seconds left. They were still just outside the red zone and they just let the clock milk and tick and tick and tick. And then the the next play they throw it up to Pickens, throw it up to CD, whoever it was and they they Pickens I think, and they got the pass interference call on the Ravens. They get the ball down to the two yard line, 23 seconds left, and then they just don't score. Dak throws the ball away on a third and goal. They had a false start the very next play that puts them back. Dak throws the ball away with 10 seconds left on a third and goal when Pickens was open. He was just like throwing the throwing the ball away to save time when he had plenty of time and he had Pickens open in the corner in the end zone. So I don't know. It seemed like they were just playing for overtime. And then kicking the ball into the end zone on the kickoff and not making the Ravens return it and wasting zero time on the clock just makes no sense. I I get that they they had two. Aubrey kicked two. Earlier in the game, out of bounds on the kickoff, and the Ravens started the ball with the forty yard line. But in this situation, there's seven seconds left. Just squib it. If it goes out of bounds, the difference is they start with the ball at the forty yard line compared to starting with the ball at the thirty five yard line. It's a five yard difference. And you probably take off some some time on the clock. It just Yeah. C-Dub: You take off clock. Yeah, I know that's what I was about to say. You take off clock. Roc: I don't know. It was just poor coaching, poor decision making all around. C-Dub: Recurrent segment, jail time, Derrick Henry. Roc: Yeah, it's brutal. C-Dub: I had his yards. He ended up with eighty nine, his line was ninety one and a half. And Iraco, do you remember when they were on the goal line, the Ravens? Do you remember that? Roc: Yeah. Yeah. C-Dub: He g he lost, I think, about six yards in that one exchange Roc: Yeah. C-Dub: there. And they ended up settling. And that really that really hurt. That that one was one where I'm like, okay, they're g he's gonna get it back, and he never did. So that's my jail time segment. But I mean, Ravens Roc: That sucks. That sucks. C-Dub: great team win. They look good. against I mean, against a Cowboys team where I I'm I still it's it's tough to have a verdict on how good they are with their defense playing the way it is. Roc: They're just they're a good offensive team. They that's all it is. Are are C-Dub: That's all you gotta say. Yeah. Roc: they a good all around team? I I don't know, but they're a good offensive team. And yeah, that was the game of the week in my opinion. I I C-Dub: for sure. Roc: I'm good to move on to Sunday night football because that game was sick. C-Dub: I say we talk about something first though. A Roc: okay, yeah, yeah. C-Dub: new a new quarterback has entered the chat. Rocco, you can take it away. I know you have more opinions than I do. Roc: Okay, so we got the news today around I want to say what eleven eleven thirty this morning that C-Dub: Yeah. Roc: the New York football giants they went and made a move. We got ourselves a quarterback, we made a trade for JJ McCarthy. We gave up a fifth round pick, sent that to Minnesota, and got young JJ McCarthy. And In my opinion, I I had a lot to get off my chest. I it was I just thought it was such a lame and underwhelming move by the Giants, personally. I I have rationalized it a little bit more as the time has gone on. I I I was a I was adulting. But obviously I already talked about it. I wanted Joe Milton so badly. Yes, he's a fun player, but i I have these notes that for Joe Milton as why. If you're gonna go make a move and get a young guy. Go get Joe Milton to where it doesn't cost you any assets. It's zero. He's on the practice squad. All you have to do is sign him. So you could have gotten him for free. Yes, a fifth round pick. People are gonna be like, it's a fifth round pick. It's still a fifth round pick, it's still a draft asset. You can find a diamond in the rough with that pick. So if you're gonna go get a younger guy, why wouldn't you sign Joe Milton? He's free. He's an absolute freak who just has so much potential. And can actually like r r raise the play of players around him. Like he has just the physical traits and the athleticism in the big arm that he can raise the play of Malik Neighbors, of Darn or Darnell Mooney, of Isaiah Likely. And then he's such a threat because he's probably a better athlete than Jackson Dart was. He's faster, bigger. That makes the run game for Scattabu better. And you see after after week one, everyone was like, After the Giants played again, Dallas defense, which wasn't good. You saw after week one, everyone was like, the Giants' offensive line looks really good. Going and drafting Maui Noah with the 10th pick, really good job. Like this Giants' offensive line is going to be legit. But one, it was Dallas defense, and they can't stop blooding those. And two, Dart, his athleticism and mobility makes up for so many holes in. That offensive line. You can see Will Jameis was playing. He just doesn't move around as much and he's getting sacked. He's getting hit. And it makes our offensive line a lot look a lot worse than it is. And everyone's like, the line sucks now. The line sucks now. You need a guy that's athletic to go and get that. So that was my two cents of Joe Milton. But as I rationalized about the actual JJ McCarthy trade, my ca I'll start with my cons first. All right. Yeah. C-Dub: Can I get something in real quick? And I don't know if you're gonna say this. But in my honest opinion, I think it was the safest move that Joe Shon Joe Shane could have done. And I it pains me to say it because it is boring, but it's one of those moves where you you take a fifth. And as a fan like me, I'm a guy where like, okay, it's a fifth. I don't I don't have the ball knowledge to really pick a diamond in the rough out. Hold. Hold. It's one where You give him a chance. He was a top ten pick. It's it's one where if he doesn't work out, it's an it's an okay you tried. You tried to give him another chance. And no one's gonna be mad at that front office. Now if you go out and get a Joe Milton, granted I know it's less assets, but if he's bet but but if he but Roc: Nothing is no assets. No assets. C-Dub: I don't think he has the caliber and the pedigree that JJ McCarthy has being such a high draft pick, to where it's I think the fan base could rile up more and it would put Shane on the hot seat more. If he did play poorly and he got in. Roc: I think Joe Millen way more potential than JJ McCarthy. I think JJ McCarthy just has a has a four. C-Dub: No, and I'm not saying he doesn't. I'm just saying it's I'm just saying it's safer. It's safer to take the guy who's taken so highly and touted so heavily with without giving up too much assets Roc: But use a reach. C-Dub: to give him a shot. He might have been a reach, but when you go when w Roc: He was. C-Dub: he was dr but when you look at where he was drafted, how can you be mad at that front office for getting him? Roc: Is it not C-Dub: It goes back to if he's good or not, but at the same time he was drafted so highly. It's one of those things where it's like you can't blame him at the end of the day. Roc: Then if if you're going off that logic, I would have rather have gone out and get got Anthony Richardson. JJ McCarthy was taking 10th overall. Anthony Richardson was taking fourth overall. Anthony Richardson 6'5 and ran runs a 4 3 and can throw the ball 75 yards. JJ McCarthy is 6'1, 200 pounds, and can move, but can throw the ball maybe what? 50 yards. Yeah, not not like the other guys. Not like Joe Melton, not like Anthony Richardson. C-Dub: He can move He can move I agree, but I agree Roc: But all right. That's I I I C-Dub: You can still talk about the horrorball shit too. And we didn't even get into that. The horrorball connection. But keep keep going. Your turn. Your turn. I I I cede the floor to you. Roc: I I I digress. All right. So yeah, I so I have my my pros and cons list about the JJ McCarthy trade because I I did re revalidise, let some steam off, but I'm starting my cons. So you went out and got a guy who just hasn't played well in the NFL and showed it. He's shown it. He just hasn't played well in the NFL. All right. That's just number one. You C-Dub: Yeah, yeah, no, I agree. I agree. Roc: got it you went out and got a guy that doesn't have any elite traits to be an NFL quarterback, correct? C-Dub: Yeah. Now keep going. Roc: In my opinion, he he doesn't have any elite traits. He he's just a floor kind of player. Like he doesn't do anything that your eyes are gonna pop. He he he doesn't have any elite traits. Joe Mill and Anthony Richardson at least have some elite traits, dark elite traits. Okay. And you go and get a quarterback that it's not like he's a an Iron Man. He's been in the league for three years now and he's had he's had a season ending sur surgery, injury before it even started and got hurt. Both both of the two years that he started, or before his rookie year that he was going to be starting, out for the entire season. And then the the first year that he actually starts, he gets banged up and misses time. So it's not like you're getting a guy that's reliable and it's gonna be playing every single game. We already have that issue with Dart. Dart's been in the blue tent more than he's been on the field. So you go out and you trade for a guy that has the exact same issues. It's not like you're getting somebody that's gonna play 17 games. That was another issue. And last for the cons list. He had the best wide receiver in the NFL in Justin Jefferson, and he made him look like a jag. Do you know what a jag is? Just a guy, dub. He made him look like just a guy. We had people asking about wash Justin Jefferson conversations. You don't make a stud like that just a guy. Justin Jefferson. But listen, listen. Yes. C-Dub: Do you think I don't have these fears too? Do you think I don't? Do you think I don't? I do have these fears. I'm gonna go to bed tonight and be scared. But I am choosing to Roc: Yeah. C-Dub: be positive in these moments. I'm choosing that. Roc: But listen. All right. So you made the best wide receiver in the NFL, just the guy. Then you had Addison and you have Hawkinson and you have Aaron Jones. You have a good group, a a top three wide receiver core, in my opinion, and weapons in the NFL, and the best defense on top of it, with Brian Flores, the b one of the best defensive schemes that sicko, best defense in the league, and you couldn't win there, and you get benched for Carson Wentz and Max Brosner and Kyler Murray. Like that something's not adding up. So those are my cons. But C-Dub: I can't wait to hear these pros, if those are your cons. I can't wait. Roc: Okay. Alright, but I did I I did a adult. I adulted a little bit and I did rationalize and I was like, all right, you know what, let's let's look on it. 'Cause the season's not over with by any means, and I'm fully gonna hop on the nine bandwagon. Trust me, I have to because I'm a Giants fan. C-Dub: We we have to! Roc: So my pros, all right. At the end of the day, he is still young, twenty three years old, and he is a former top ten pick. So there is life to that, like you alluded to earlier. Yes, there is life to it. First round pick. He has plenty of time. To improve. You never know, change the scenery. Anything can happen. He could be the next Darnold, the next Baker, the next DJ. Like that's what we're realistically, that's what we're banking on at the end of the day. When you're going to get a guy like that, you're just changing the scenery and hoping that he can just grow as a player and that his first stop was like just the worst worst possible spot for him. And he just wasn't something just wasn't clicking. So hopefully he's he's a Darnold or he's a Baker. That's a that's a pro. C-Dub: To mention that Kevin O'Connell is also co the c the QB whisperer. But keep going. But keep going. I'm not gonna mention that, but keep going. Keep going to pros. I like this. Roc: Yeah, yeah, yeah. I yeah. Okay. He won't be asked to do much, realistically. The Giants will want to lean on the run game and control the game. They're they're gonna want to lean on Scattabu, lean on Najee Harris, and they're not gonna ask him to do much, which he he has no issue in doing that. That's what he did at Michigan. All he did at Michigan was turn around, hand the ball off twenty seven times a game, make two or three throws here and trust on his defense and trust in his run game and his offensive line. So it's not like we're gonna be asking him to go out there and throw 50 times a game and put up gaudy numbers. His game is similar to darts. Another pro he can move. He can move around. I'm not I'm not saying that he can't. A lot better than Jameis, which we we need. Like I said, our offensive line isn't isn't the best. And having an athletic quarterback, a mobile quarterback, makes up for a lot of the holes in the offensive line. So he is he is pretty athletic, pretty mobile, which I I like and I'm excited to see. And I hate this cliche, but I mean he is a winner in college. Like he he was a like a winner. And he is a smart guy. Like he's not dumb. Like people around the league say he is a smart guy. And Harbaugh obviously loves him. Jim Harbaugh, I'm talking about, he talks so highly of him. He was like, he should be the first overall pick in the Caleb Williams draft. Like, he absolutely loves him. So obviously his brother John's gonna go out and get him. And Yeah, trust in the new coaching staff. I'm gonna I'm gonna trust in it, regardless of how I think I'm gonna trust in the hardballs. And getting him. Now, with all these dart injuries, I said I had this take before that the Giants should be drafting quarterbacks in the later rounds from now on, because Dart's been in the tent for every single game of the season. And if you can go get a guy in the fifth or sixth round of every draft to just have that replacement for when he goes down and that is suitable, that is a good fallback plan. That's like what good organizations do. So getting him right now makes it so you don't have to go waste a fourth, fifth, sixth round pick in the next year to draft to the year after that draft. So it is C-Dub: No, for sure. For sure. Roc: a good backup plan. So that's that those are my takes on it. I just had to get a lot off my chest 'cause I I had some ups and downs throughout the day when thinking about it. C-Dub: No, and you did. You did. And again, what I said, I was thinking I was thinking about that that front office and about all those theories that were out there. This is the one pick where I think you go out and you get this guy. If it goes bad, you gotta just hit the cap. I mean, it's one of those where I think it's the one quarterback where if this ends poorly, Joe Shon Joe Shane and all those guys can keep their jobs. If it doesn't work out. And then you have Dark coming back anyway, so this could all just be a blip on the radar. Roc: Yeah. It's fair. Sorry about that debrief with the JJ McCarthy trade. I I had to get a lot off my chest and though I didn't really let you talk that much dub, but I just I had a lot of notes on it and C-Dub: No, it's one of those things where you say a lot of really good cons, but I'm gonna choose to live in this blissful ignorance until proven otherwise. Roc: Yeah, I'm fully a part of the the nine train now. Trust me. I I want him. I I hope I'm wrong with all the cons and all my pros were they come to light and we get the next Darnold or Baker and he can lead us into the end of the season actually into some meaning some meaningful football games. So hopefully I I'm in the wrong on that. But the ender of Sunday night, Sunday night football, we had the Broncos, Rams, Broncos 30, Rams 26, and this was an instant classic dub. C-Dub: We did say that the the Cowboys Ravens was game of the week. This is could be game of the year. Roc: Th this game was so dope, in my opinion. C-Dub: It was so good. It was so good. Take it away, Rocka. I know you have a lot of stuff stuff to say. You were texting me a lot. Roc: Yeah, dude, first off I just said great game. Bo Nicks like just doesn't decide to wake up until the second half, I guess. It it's like that every single week and it's been like that the last three years. Like it's crazy. C-Dub: Yeah, no, that's that's the bonex experience. You go into a game knowing it's gonna be going down wire to wire, but at halftime you're wondering if their offensive coordinator is gonna still have a job coming out of the tunnel. Roc: It's crazy 'cause I I I I like Bonex. I'm a Bonex fan. Like I love him. I think he's I think he's I C-Dub: I'm a believer. I'm a believer too! Roc: I think he's a good good quarterback. And I think the Broncos are like a real like a real Super Bowl contender team. Like I had them my preseason in the Super Bowl this year. So I I love this Broncos team. Their defense is legit. They're they're D line, their backers and their secondary are all beasts. So I I I love C-Dub: Every level. Roc: this team. If they can get it going in the first half, just a little bit in the first half, then They're forced to be reckoned with every single week. C-Dub: Yeah. Roc: And they just they don't wake up until their backs are against the wall. It C-Dub: That's my thing. It's a it's that's a team where do you game plan for that? Do you game plan for expecting your team to just not wake up in the first half? Because they didn't even have a run game. And they got RJ Harvey who I think's pretty good. Like they got guys that can move rock. Dobbins too. RJ Harvey, D.K. Dobbins. Roc: Cobbins. It's it's crazy. It's crazy because the first half and like the first drive obviously is supposed to be the scripted place. Like the offense, like your offensive C-Dub: It is. Roc: coordinator, your head coach, they're putting in the game plan for the week for that first quarter, for that first drive. And it should be crisp. Like it should be like ran clean. Like the like the thing I've watched with the Colts each and every week, their their first drives every week for the Colts are always good. Like for some reason I feel like it's always Daniel Jones going like Five for six, six for seven, Jonathan Taylor running the rock hard and their scoring on that first drive. The Broncos don't do that, and they just look awkward and uncomfortable that first half, the first drive on on the scripted plays. I think maybe they just have to chalk the script and just let Bo Nicks play loose and play free and play how he C-Dub: Yeah. Roc: plays. Because he plays better in the second half and fourth quarter when They're down sixteen when they're down two scores and the pressure's on him and it's like, All right, you have to go and make a play ball. That's when he like shows up. So maybe they just like throw the whole script in the garbage and just let him play like that off rip. I I was thinking about that last game 'cause it it just doesn't really make any sense how every single week they start off slow and then they pick it up in the second half. C-Dub: Yeah, no for sure. And it wasn't like the Rams defense was was doing anything crazy in that first half either, I Roc: No. C-Dub: thought, just from what I was watching. I mean they weren't I mean they got to him a few times, but it wasn't like they were like rewriting the whole entire the rule book on how to play a defense. I also think a lot of Rams players played really well. I mean, granted this game went down to the wire. I mean Kyron Williams was able to run against that defense, that was really impressive from him. Roc: Beast. C-Dub: Devontae Adams, need I say more. Like Tyler Higby, need I say more? I I would I had a bet, I didn't put it out there on Terrence Ferguson. Tough to see him go down. I think he's gonna be one of those those marquee tight ends. And I'm not sure if the Rams are gonna be able to keep all those guys that they have in the in the tight end room. I think he might go somewhere Roc: Whole eight of them. C-Dub: he might go somewhere and be a one guy. like a Trey McBride kind of style. I love how he plays. I love when he was in Oregon. I mean so I mean, but again, I mean it's just bow ball in the second half. It's you could always chalk it up to that. Roc: And on the last episode I did pick the Broncos to win this game. And shout out to my take. My key to this keys keys to this game came to tuition, man. You all you gotta do you gotta pressure Stafford. You get him off his spot. He still played incredible, but once you get him to move, he is thirty seven, thirty eight years old. Once you get him to move and you make him a little uncomfortable, he has some costly mistakes, the pick six, obviously. And C-Dub: Yeah. yeah. Roc: you just gotta get him off his spot. And that's what the Broncos were doing. Their defensive liners getting pressure on him. All night and the game really flipped in that third quarter. It was sixteen to at halftime and the Rams got outscored sixteen to zero in that third quarter. Broncos two touchdowns, two two point conversions completely flipped the game and fourth quarter was anyone's ball game. But C-Dub: It really was. It was anyone's ballgame, though for sure. Roc: Obviously we we can't we can't miss the question questionable officiating that C-Dub: That's what I that's what I was just about to say. I mean, I think that PI at the end, that was really weak. And it just sucks that a game like that has to end. I don't think it takes away from the overall like how good the game was. It's just Roc: Same. C-Dub: tough to see a game go. Roc: It it does it does suck when you have a great game like that and the that way and you got flopping making its way to the NFL now. But it it's just like what, two thousand eighteen, the no call with the Rams and Saints. Sean Payton, Sean Payton C-Dub: Yeah. And at the same time, like Roc: and Sean McVeigh. Sean Payton, Sean McVeigh. And guess what? Sean Payton and Sean McVeigh again. How the turn tables have turned in the no call. That's C-Dub: No really. It's one of those where like if I'm a Broncos fan, I will find a million reasons why that was a PI. And that's fair. Roc: Yeah, but then if I'm a Rams Rams fan, I'm literally only blaming that game, that loss on how they called that a pass interference instead of a game winning interception. And that's football fandom at its finest. At its finest. C-Dub: And that is com that is completely fair to do. How can you blame It it really is. Yeah, no, great game. Great game. Game of the year. I mean, they really turned it up in the end. I was surprised I'm surprised that Waddle didn't get more involved. But Roc: Yeah. C-Dub: at the same time, Cortland Sutton was that guy last year and is still that guy. He played a great game. So Yeah. Roc: Pat Bryant, pretty good player. C-Dub: Pat Bryant's good player. They have they have they have they have names. They have names. I just he should be a one guy. And I mean I the only reason I'm saying that's 'cause I I I fucking bet him and he didn't hit. Yeah, Roc: Got on yeah. Yeah. C-Dub: so that sucked. So all good. All good there on that. Roc: That that's all we had from Sunday night football, but hey, JSP country, we got ourselves a visitor. He finally decided to show up. I mean, he's just late on everything. It's complete BS. We talked about it earlier in the episode. We were we were hoping to see him make his debut tonight. He was officially employed back in Jersey swap, and we welcome Aaron Buckley to the stage. Aaron: Thank you, thank you. Is is it coming through our right now? Is it coming through our right? Yeah, they C-Dub: The buckle. Better late than never. You sound good. You sound good. Aaron: never hurt the AirPods. I tried to get too fancy. I'm gonna have to figure that out before next week. It's on me. C-Dub: Hi, no, all good. All good. Aaron: the only thing I wanted to add to that Sunday night game was who was the receiver that was thrown to there on the PI? He literally admitted to it today that he flopped. Roc: Is it not Pat Bryant? Yeah. Yeah, I think. I don't think it was Troy Flancan. C-Dub: Was that Fran was I was it Pat Bryant? Or was it Troy Franklin? Aaron: Was it Pat Bryant? Yeah. He literally did he not say today that he like I don't know. Whoever it was I saw a tweet that he literally admitted to it today. Which I mean like it's not any C-Dub: Okay. Roc: Yeah, I mean I mean you you Aaron: penalty to him. It's it it's good. I mean, yeah, why not? It I mean it's C-Dub: Got called. Roc: You saw you saw Bo Nicks at like in real time. He was laughing. Like he was grinning and smiling and like laughing that they called that a pass interference. He's like, Holy shit, like they actually just called that a pass interference. He was dying laughing on the field. Aaron: I I wanna come out with a bang though. I don't know if dubbed it jail time this week yet, but I have a jail time. No, C-Dub: I did one but I want you. I want you. Aaron: I I have one of the biggest jail times of the whole season. IX this fired me up. Can we give a jail time to that Jaguars ball boy? Are you dead serious? Did you guys see that? No, I'm genuinely serious. He should be fired today. Roc: my gosh, yeah, that was brutal. Yeah. I thought it was AI. I swear I I swear I thought it C-Dub: Hmm Roc: I thought I thought it was AI. I'm being deadass. I I C-Dub: Ha ha ha Aaron: No, like Roc: Like what? I I I th I thought that somebody like made that and was just clip farming 'cause like w he was his first career pick. Like what? Aaron: And the best part is he takes a ball. Josh Hines Allen goes up to him and he was like, I'm not giving it to you. And then and then Roc: Yeah, he's like, Don't touch me, don't touch me. Aaron: someone on the like the it looks like the Jags staff came down. He wa he they were like wrestling for it. Like they were like full Roc: Yeah. Aaron: on wrestling, walking off the sideline. That guy deserves to be in NFL jail. The Jags ball C-Dub: I love that take. Roc: Yeah, he sucks. Aaron: boy. C-Dub: Love that take, Buck. Love it. Need that take. Roc: Fuck, you have any insights on the the Bills Chargers game? We already talked about it, but you were at the game, so we just want to hear a little bit about what you had. Aaron: Yeah. So I I I have a stat of the week, but I'm gonna save it for a sec. I it's it's an incredible stat. yeah, it was hideous. Those jerseys are hideous. play was hideous. It was it was C-Dub: It's a bad jersey game. Didn't talk about it. Bad. Aaron: so like Allen's had bad games, no doubt. He was not good against the Broncos last year in the playoff game, but he was weird. There was a lot of weird plays. there was like one play where It was like third and goal from the eight and he had a wide open running lane. And it would have been close him and a defender, but and he tried squeezing it to DJ more. Like it was just like there was like three of those plays that were just really weird where I like, dude, what are you doing today? but it was weird. I think it showed more about the Chargers than it honestly did the Bills. They're brutal. And then that's C-Dub: Yeah. Aaron: gonna lead me right into my stat. Right for this one. I saw this a as I walked out, mind blown. Since twenty thirteen, teams with five plus turnovers and a negative four turnover margin are three eighty one and one. The three wins Bills over Chargers yesterday, Jags over Chargers 22, Broncos over Chargers 2015. Roc: Dude. C-Dub: Wow. I that's a that's a stat right there. Aaron: So so my point my point my point with this stat my point with this stat is we love to talk about like the Browns, the Jets, the kind of the laughing stocks. Like s kinda gotta add the charger sometimes. Roc: I charge is gonna charger. I forget what year it was. They had the number one overall offense and number one overall defense and they missed the playoffs. Aaron: I th I believe it was twenty ten, yeah. Mm-hmm. Roc: And they missed the playoffs. How's that possible? Aaron: Like how how does this ad exist? Roc: Yeah. I I C-Dub: It's a crazy stat. Roc: we we talked about earlier and I I said the same thing. I was like if you can't get a win by forcing five turnovers, are you gonna get a win at all this year? And it it was Aaron: No, like actually. Roc: pathetic. C-Dub: And especially a game where you make ju where Josh Allen looks human for once. You don't capitalize on that. Roc: Human. Yeah. Aaron: Mm-hmm. The the the only other two of the things I wanna touch on, I wanna see if you guys know this. Do you know who is leading the league for deploy right now? He's on the Bills defense. Roc: Leading the league for depoy. Aaron: Day's on the Bills defense right now. I don't know if anyone's aware. It's it's it's gone under the radar. If they if they had a crowned depoy after week three Roc: Well how we're in we week week three, brother. Don't say if you say C-Dub: My my bad for not knowing that one. Roc: if you say Bradley Chubb, please don't say Bradley Chubb. Okay. I was gonna say he Aaron: Heck no. Bradley Chow's been atrocious. No, Greg Russo. I don't know if you guys saw the stat. first player in NFL history to have two sacks in the first three games of the season. It's only been done three times in history in three consecutive games, but he's the first player in NFL history to have two sacks in each of the first three games to start a season. He's also leads the league in QB hits, tied for the league in QB hurries, tied for the lead in force fumbles, and leads the league in tackles for loss. Roc: Dog. Aaron: Just an early an early C-Dub: I wouldn't have known that. Aaron: week three. He's on pace for thirty four stacks that that will absolutely not happen. C-Dub: We just did the on pace for JSN. So let's keep going with that on pace shit. I love it. Roc: Yeah, he did the on page with J son. Aaron: No, it I Roc: I can we make that a graphic, please? Aaron: heard that on a podcast today. I actually started laughing. C-Dub: We need Aaron: What? C-Dub: that we need that on the graphic. Aaron: No, I I heard that on a podcast today and I and I literally thought in my head he will go five games without a sack, but it that was hilarious when I heard that out loud. But no, he it's something with this new Jim Leonard defense and standing up and he's played on the other side of veterans, b between Joey Bosa, Leonard Floyd, Von Miller. He fortunately for him, Bradley Chubb plays on like the opposite side. So He's finally playing on his side, and I think he's standing up, and it's it's really weird that in like year six now, Gregor Sowe's in, like he's finally looks like a competent defensive end. Sorry, that's random. Only other thing I want to touch on is I think week one is the biggest liar of the whole NFL season. Roc: yeah. C-Dub: Terrible. Aaron: But but we're three weeks in, and I swear there's never been more lying through three weeks. Like C-Dub: I got got by the Steelers. I had to put my hand on the on the MacBook Bible. Say I'm an idiot. I had to. Aaron: Like everything this week that everyone thought from last week was wrong and different. The Saints laid like the Saints lose. Everyone talked about the Panthers and Bryce Roc: Ra the Raiders are good, like C-Dub: Yeah. Aaron: Young. They laid an egg. I have I have three teams on here. No one predicted this for the year. Chargers 0 3. How about the Texans 0-3? And how about the damn Raiders? 3-0. Roc: Yeah. Yeah. Aaron: Like, there's so E I I actually called I'm I'm gonna call out the Moor Mile here. I I I gave I g no, I actually I I was mad at the Steelers last week. It was so dreadful. I waited till Tuesday. I Roc: It's pathetic. Aaron: gave him a whole day. I called him on Tuesday and I said I said you're not even gonna be able to say hello in this phone call because I got one sentence for you. When is enough enough? How long can you put up with this? Dreadful, miserable football that will squeak into the playoffs to get annihilated round one. I said, like what that's like I'd rather be competing for the first overall pick than that. And he totally agreed. And I'm sitting I'm sitting at the game and I keep looking up and I'm like, How are they still up a touchdown on the Bengals? Still up a touchdown. Still up a touchdown. I walk out of the same and I go, they beat the Bengals. So now so now I I I mean I obviously wasn't on last week's episode, so I was like, I look like an idiot. the whole world looks like an idiot. The Saints lose. The Panthers look like Jesus. The Super Bowl chance just lost to Marcus Mariota. the Raiders are three Roc: Crazy. Aaron: and I I was like usually usually C-Dub: How about how about the Browns? Aaron: the Browns have a winning record. Like usually C-Dub: yeah. Aaron: after week one it all quickly gets like thought out, but like I was more confused after yesterday than I was after week one, I think. Like what's happening? C-Dub: This has me fired Roc: Any given Sunday. C-Dub: up. This has me fired up. I'm doing I'm I don't know what segment this is gonna be. We're gonna call it something. Team, I think, won't wait the playoffs. I'm picking the Browns right now after that talk. I I'm going Aaron: Ha ha Roc: Love it. Love it. C-Dub: Browns. I'm going Browns Browns Browns to make the offs. Roc: Love it. C-Dub: I and 'cause 'cause it's it is so weird, but I think there's some things that there's some opinions I have that are so bad that I wanna get out there. I think this isn't one of them. I think this isn't one of them. 'Cause it is a we it's been a weird season. With week three and everything. I I that's all I gotta say. I I don't have anything else to elaborate on. And I'm gonna get roasted for this, but I'm gonna do it. I'm gonna do it. Roc: Stand on it. C-Dub: I am. I am. Now let's skip ahead. Do you guys want talk about the game tonight? Aaron: Mm-hmm. Roc: Should we save that for after the game or no? Because I mean this is coming out after the game. Like the talk. You know what I'm saying? All right, yeah. C-Dub: I'm gonna save it. I mean I'm gonna get back on. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, let's do it. Aaron: I'm good. I'm good with that. C-Dub: We'll we'll reconvene. All right. See ya boys. Roc: Good. All right, we can talk. And now into the Monday night finisher. Bears twenty seven, Eagles seven. And fellas, we got ourselves a case keenham master class in the big two thousand twenty six. C-Dub: Minraco, you just said this earlier. It was we were talking about Jameis and Mariota. How about that? Roc: The year of onks. This is the year of onks, boys. C-Dub: it's it's good to see. I mean, it's good to see him get emotional after Roc: Yeah she C-Dub: the game. Like he ba but he balled, like he deserved that. Roc: He looked so healthy. He was C-Dub: Yeah. Roc: slinging he was slinging rock tonight. And and honestly, I I was talking about it during the game. Eagles were one second away. They barely got the ball off before halftime, being shut out. C-Dub: Yeah. Roc: They're they're not a good team. We said it before in that like somehow they always figure out a way to just like win games, even though it looks ugly and it looks like not good, or we think they're a not a good team and end up with thirteen wins on the season. They're they're not good right now. And they're I I don't I don't I don't have any fear right now as a NFC East Giants fan. I I like C-Dub: I wouldn't either. Roc: our spot. C-Dub: I mean I think I mean you look at their first two, they played Titans, that was they won twenty four twenty. Commanders they won twenty four twenty two. I mean granted the Commanders just pulled one out of their ass with a Mariota master class, but not pulled out of their ass, they actually they dominated, but it was it was one that you didn't see coming. But I mean I still th those are two those could be two stinkers down the line. I mean, maybe the commies can keep keep some momentum here with Mariota leading the way, but I'm not sh I'm not sure if they're good. I think you're right, Rock. Roc: I I just I their offensive line isn't as dominant as it was obviously the Saquon two thousand two thousand yard season. They could run the ball eight yards a clip every single time that they wanted to. Saquon would have weeks where he's going for one thirty, one forty five, two touchdowns, a two hundred yard game here or there. I don't remember the last time Saquon's eclipsed a hundred receipt or hundred rushing yards in a game. And that that offensive line is just not as dominant as it used to be. Obviously Jason Kelsey retires. Landon Dickerson's hurt. Malata's a little bit older now. It's putting a lot more pressure on Jalen Hurts and he's not he we we said before he is a winner and he's always available. So like you can't like knock him for that, but he's not, in my opinion, one of the elite guys to where he can lift the team by himself with the holes that they have and deficiencies that they have. I think he needs to be supported like a good supporting cast around him and right now that he doesn't have that. C-Dub: I all the only bright spot is all he's got Devontae Smith. Roc: Yeah. C-Dub: I mean Saquon Saquon Saquon, he's he's gonna he's gonna have those games. He just hasn't been on recently. But Devontae Smith I think I mean I think he's a true one. I don't know what you guys think. I mean the way he's been playing recently. I mean he got he a couple targets there. He had s he had one insane catch in the first half. I forgot w when it came, I didn't write it down. But I mean I think that's the only bright spot on this team. I mean their defense So many penalties. They were playing they were playing so off ball. They let Case Keenum do whatever they want. And then all those crossing routes where he's throwing lollipops in the air and just put someone's butt naked. I just don't know what you do. Roc: It it is crazy. C-Dub: And then not even not to mention, like, the Bears defense has been bad. Roc: Bad. Aaron: Not good. C-Dub: And they as you said, as you alluded to, like, this Eagles team was one like ref call away from getting shut out. Aaron: ro the role of a backup quarterback is not to save your season if your quarterback is done for the year, but to make you survive a few weeks. Case Keen Yeah, Roc: Go go five hundred or above. C-Dub: So we said, yeah. Aaron: Case Case Keenum did that tonight. Now let me hit you with two things. Saquon hasn't had a hundred yard rushing game since December twentieth of last year. Roc: All right, so yeah. Aaron: And secondly, can anyone name me? It's but not gonna be hard 'cause we just watched it. The Bears leading receiver tonight. Roc: Was it Luther? C-Dub: Luther. Was it Aaron: No. Roc: it was what's his name? Number fourteen. Cleve Raymond from Aaron: Khalif Raymond. Ninety. Roc: Yeah. C-Dub: just looking at I was just looking at Rome had a good game too though. That that's just for that's just for a fant my my fantasy team. I mean he was on my bench, I didn't really care Aaron: He did. Yeah, no. yeah, no, Luther Burn was really good. Roc: Yeah, drive touchdown. C-Dub: too much, but I I was keeping a finger on the pulse with him. Aaron: Luther Byrne was targeted eleven times. Holy crap. Roc: Yeah. Aaron: Yeah, I mean C-Dub: Yeah. Aaron: talk talk about just putting up seven targets, six catches, ninety and a tutty from Khalif. Who knew? C-Dub: Yeah. I mean he got free that one t that one time for that w one touchdown. Aaron: He did, he has wide open. C-Dub: That was insane. That was that was butt naked. Aaron: Yeah, he was wide open. Roc: It was a pretty entertaining Monday night football game. Maybe it's just cause I'm a Giants fan and from my perspective I love seeing when Philly loses. But it w it was a lot more entertaining than I thought it was going to be going into it. When you when you're on your third string quarterback, you expect it to kinda get dog walked and kinda just be one of those boring dominant games. But it was complete opposite. Bears punched him in the mouth and just kept going. Aaron: It C-Dub: They did. Aaron: it was it's funny, not until the very end did I ever count the Eagles out though. It was kinda weird. I like they just do this so often though. It it was it was more of like the like the third to last drive they had where it was like Hertz took a sack, ran for a negative year Roc: It was the fourth and twenty five and then he just threw it out bounds. Yeah. Aaron: It was yeah, it was like the one even before that. Then I like, Okay, finally but like it was weird that I was just like, Well, the Eagles will just find a way though, right back in this game. It'll be hideous but like but they actually didn't. Yes, and C-Dub: They win by like two po they win like two points. Aaron: it's just like a hideous Eagles win 'cause that's just all they do under Siriani, it feels like over the last like season and a half, kinda since they won the Super Bowl. but they didn't obviously that tonight. But I just have I had that feeling though the whole time, but so yeah. C-Dub: One thing that pissed me off, I don't know what you guys think about this, is like when Ben Johnson went for it on fourth. When they're on the goal Aaron: Hm, yeah. C-Dub: line there. It pissed me off. I wanted that I wanted like as much as much as I hate the Eagles, I'm like, fuck this guy. You guys his his balls are too big. I want them to lose. Ugh. Roc: I I love it 'cause he he has he has big balls and he stands on it and he always goes for it. And he'll get he'll get the backlash for when he does Aaron: I mean can we Roc: it. What last year in the playoff game against the Rams, didn't he go for it every single time? C-Dub: Yeah. Roc: And they only converted what once or twice? Even when he was on the Lions too, going for it every single time, even in their own territory. And he gets the backlash for it, but he's he stands with his chest puffed out and he he goes for it. I I I mess with it. C-Dub: And at the same time, this Aaron: No quite. C-Dub: isn't a game where it bites you in the ass. But may Roc: Yeah, this isn't. C-Dub: it may come along. And then we're gonna have the same conversation all over again. But I mean live by it, die by it. There are it's it's it's one of those where you talk about it if it goes wrong and you don't talk about it if it goes right. Aaron: I mean yeah, that's the Dan Campbell way. Learn from the goat. Roc: Dan Campbell, C-Dub: Yeah. Roc: man cambell. C-Dub: And I know that this this podcast has some strong feelings on Dan the Man. But I mean it just it annoyed me in the beginning. I got over it quick 'cause I hate the Eagles. But that was something that stood out to me. Roc: That that's all I had from this game, honestly. It was it was just one of those like just dominant but boring games where it was fun because it was Case Keenum and because we got to watch the Eagles lose. Aaron: Quick quick question for you guys both being Giants fans. Maybe you went over this, but I I just got a quick question to get us out of here. what number is nine taking? Because I don't know if you guys know, zero through twenty is all taken. Roc: Yeah. I'd assume he's Aaron: Like is Roc: probably gonna go like I don't even know. Aaron: Like is he gonna pay someone for their number? Can you do that though in season? Or is that only like an off season thing? C-Dub: Will I'm willing to start a GoFundMe to get him nine. I want to find a way to get him nine. Let's Roc: I C-Dub: let's circumvent s I let's circumvent some rule. I wan I want him I still want to Aaron: No, I want see see Roc: I say it likely. C-Dub: be able to say nine is the ultra ego. And on the back of his jersey be nine. Aaron: I see I kinda want him to get a new number and like him but then him saying an interview would be so good. Yes, and yes. If like he knows it's a meme and just like gets a new number like an idiot. C-Dub: Like his new alter ego is that new number? It'd be pretty good. Only on a win though. Only on a win. Roc: trying to think. I I'm going Aaron: Like what no? Roc: with a I'm going with like a weird feeling. He's gonna be like number like fourteen or something like that. Aaron: Who is fourteen? Can you get that number? Roc: No, I I don't know. I've I I know it's not a receiver, you tell you that, or at least the receiver that plays. C-Dub: you know, Aaron, you're you're gonna have to listen back. Rock had some Rock was f fumin' on it, so Aaron: I know, I'm excited to hear that part. C-Dub: you gotta look into it. Yeah. Roc: Yeah, I vented a little bit, but hopefully hopefully it wasn't too bad. Aaron: I I will say, d during like the middle of this past week, I said, You have nothing to lose now with the season. For me, my number one was Anthony Richardson, but I think my two was JJ McCarthy. I think Anthony Richardson would just been a little more fun of like you got you got was that your number one? Roc: I my my number my number one was Joe C-Dub: Don't get rock going. No rock get activated, get activated. Roc: Mill my number one was my number one was Joe Mill and my number two was Anthony Richardson. Aaron: Yeah. I did hear the Joe Millon, but I don't know, Anthony Richardson. But I think this is this is in that same category. If you got nothing to lose, why not try J J McCarthy? Roc: Same same category of if you got nothing to lose, it's just the athleticism, the arm talent and the size are just minimal compared to Joel Milton and Anthony Richardson. Yeah. Yep. Aaron: That he was was he the tenth pick? Was he the tenth pick? And he was the third string and his Yeah. I mean yeah, I mean it's not good but C-Dub: It's fun saying to it's fun saying you got a top ten pick though. It's fun saying that. It's fun saying, we just got a top ten pick for a f a Roc: That is fun. I mean C-Dub: fifth rounder. Roc: to be fair, we just had a Heisman winning number one overall pick playing the game this week. Jebbo Aaron: Yeah. True. C-Dub: True. Roc: wins. C-Dub: True, we did. We did. JSP legends. Aaron: JSP legend too. Got got a few game balls, I would say. For not doing much, but C-Dub: I think I Roc: More than enough. C-Dub: think that's our white whale for this podcast. Aaron: Yeah. Roc: Yeah. If we can get Jamist. C-Dub: Jebowins. Roc: But I think that's gonna do it for us for tonight for the pod. Hopefully, C-Dub: Yeah, yeah. I'm finna go horizontal. Roc: yeah, hopefully you guys made it through. It's probably gonna be pretty, pretty long, pretty good episode to always, you know, talking ball, shooting the shit with the fellas, and we'll see you guys all on Thursday morning with some previews of week four in college ball, baby. C-Dub: Sounds good. Peace. Roc: See you later, Swap Nation. Aaron: See ya.
