- 0:00But upper bump Bang Bang or management fantasy hockey
- 0:03podcast. Woo woo, I felt a little accent
- 0:08there, Jackie. I don't know, I, I felt
- 0:10something happened that was totally out of my control and I
- 0:13was like, what did I just, what sounds did I just.
- 0:16Make it just rolls off the tongue, but not in a comfortable
- 0:20way, you know? I was as surprised as you are.
- 0:26Speaking wait. Speaking of roll off the tongue,
- 0:28how do you feel about Tootsie Rolls?
- 0:31Yay or nail? I don't think I've thought about
- 0:33Tootsie rolls in I had a decade. I watched Hey, like ranking of
- 0:40like a tier based ranking of candy the other day and that
- 0:44person had put like Tootsie rolls pretty high because
- 0:46they're very unique in terms of like what they're what they're
- 0:49doing and they stay in their own lane.
- 0:50You know, it's just like not trying to compete with anything
- 0:52or just like to see roles and you like us or you don't.
- 0:54I kind of appreciate that, I guess.
- 0:56Yeah, they're not my favorite, I would say.
- 0:58I wonder, I mean, if you were putting this in the same
- 1:02category as like Kit Kat or Coffee Crisp or parties?
- 1:06What's 8 like? Steer like cats You.
- 1:07Know that they don't? Yeah, they are.
- 1:09The cats are just to let you know.
- 1:10They don't have Smarties in the States or they are different.
- 1:14That's that's messed up. That's $8 nine dollar sign right
- 1:18there like that. Just yeah, that's worth not
- 1:20having. Like Ruffles all dressed.
- 1:23That's yeah, that's also a big one.
- 1:25I mean, to be fair, the the states have a lot of things that
- 1:31we don't have like. OK, who wants your finger
- 1:35anyways? You know, like apparently I've
- 1:39heard. My friend got this like spicy
- 1:43honey thing to put on pizza from Trader Joe's.
- 1:46OK, You had honey on pizza, like right.
- 1:48Like there's yeah, but there's like this spicy honey thing.
- 1:50It's actually life like pizza. Yes.
- 1:55It's just insane though. Like the one from Trader Joe's
- 1:58is nuts. Like they just have like a few
- 1:59things. I like all the fast food places
- 2:01like. Yeah, let's not get into fast
- 2:03food cause that'll be a whole conversation, but maybe in the
- 2:04office we do some pure tier rankings or something.
- 2:06That could be some fun. That's a good idea.
- 2:08Yeah, we should do that. We have a lot of stuff to say is
- 2:12the hockey. We're a pretty big food
- 2:14enthusiast, yes. So I just do do need everybody
- 2:17to know that steer chocolate is Kit Kat or caramel and steer
- 2:23candy is Sour Patch Kids at the number one spot for me.
- 2:25That's just. So is the only good answer.
- 2:28Yeah, yeah, fair enough. OK, today our Week 23 Hot topics

- 3:07the finals. Fighting yes, that's what I
- 3:10meant to say sorry anyways, but it's a hectic time in fantasy
- 3:13hockey really down to the wire in many leagues.
- 3:15So keep keep at it. You're never out and join the
- 3:19discord community interact with us in the community over there.
- 3:21So great place to be my full time.
- 3:24Job is is answering questions and then discord right now it's
- 3:27like it's like night and day everybody's everybody's
- 3:31obviously feeling the pressure and the desperation it's like
- 3:33teams that have been yeah you know one lost the whole year
- 3:36coming down to the finals and gonna lose against a team that
- 3:39shouldn't be there type of thing so it's it's rough we feel we
- 3:42feel the pressure and you know everything that comes with that
- 3:46Josh feels so much that he's actually leaving Montreal to
- 3:50drive back to to where he lives near I always forget the exact
- 3:54city but thing near Philly I guess near he's best buds with
- 3:58Matthew Michkov now so it's. Yeah, that's it.
- 4:03That's it. OK, so let's start off with our
- 4:06hot topics for this week. Do you wanna?
- 4:09Do you wanna list them? Off we got 3 hot topics today
- 4:12and honestly, guys were like near the end of the season it's
- 4:15like so hard to find things that are gonna have any longevity to
- 4:18them, right? So we're going to talk about
- 4:20like some specific instances here, but front Dell of Chicago,
- 4:25he has been a hot topic in himself because I mean, I picked
- 4:30them up in the semis and he started two games.
- 4:34He had two points. And then the main thing with him
- 4:37though is that like first of all, I heard that in his draft
- 4:39class he was like the most athletic and in shape person.
- 4:43Like he had the highest ranked VO2 Max.
- 4:48Yeah like about dreaming of. The juxtaposition is insane, but
- 4:52he's just been like nuts and his playing time is like increased
- 4:55significantly. Every game he plays.
- 4:57He's playing with Connor Bedard. He's also on line 1.
- 5:00Like it really feels like he's kind of like a end of season
- 5:03darling here. So if you can make use of him in
- 5:05your in your finals, like he's he's a name there, but it's just
- 5:08mainly what do we how do we feel about him?
- 5:10How do we feel about Chicago and looking forward to the next year
- 5:13or two? Like, is he going to be, you
- 5:15know, the missing piece for, you know, maybe Bedard's partner in
- 5:19crime that we've kind of been searching for the last few
- 5:21years? I anticipate that's going to be
- 5:24the case, but it's gonna come in waves.
- 5:26So like for instance, I'm going to league that's a keeper league
- 5:31and one of the teams is kind of like out of the playoffs,
- 5:33already has them. I was like, oh, like can I go
- 5:35pick them up? So, you know, it's really like
- 5:38one of those things that if you're banking on next year, I
- 5:40have no idea how it's going to go.
- 5:42But I do anticipate that looking how good they were this year
- 5:47when Bedard playing, which were they were a fringe playoff team
- 5:50while he was healthy and then unfortunately had that injury
- 5:52and then, you know, everything, yeah, everything went to.
- 5:55A dollar $10 fee. After Exactly, exactly exactly.
- 6:00That's our shortened version of this version.
- 6:04Anyway, all this to say, we like I only can really focus on this
- 6:10year and there's many instances of, you know, good players from,
- 6:14you know, European leagues or rookies or whatever it is coming
- 6:17in and and shaking things up. I think that Chicago is just
- 6:20kind of playing to get the most out of their their talent right
- 6:23now. And Frondel is gonna be front
- 6:24and centre there. I expect them to be line one
- 6:26with Bedard and power play one for.
- 6:28The rest of the year, I mean week 24, they don't have the
- 6:31exceptional schedule. They only have five games.
- 6:33So you kind of would hope for like at least 6, but I still
- 6:37think if you're in a really deeply like our, our league of
- 6:40record is very deep. Like he was the one of the only
- 6:42guys that was available on waivers at the time when I
- 6:44picked him up that, you know, had some like line 1P1 exposure.
- 6:47So I, I like him for the, for the exposure and his third game
- 6:51that he played in the lineup, he played over 20 minutes and he
- 6:55played the most minutes out of any forward on the team, which
- 6:58is crazy for a guy that just got brought up right.
- 7:00So I just think that he has a huge engine and he can play big
- 7:04minutes. He's playing minutes with the
- 7:05best players on this team. And so there's a lot to look
- 7:08forward to. So if you're in a really, really
- 7:09deep league, I think he's a name that you can definitely keep an
- 7:12eye on. And going into next year, I'm
- 7:13like really excited about what he can do.
- 7:15I just wonder if he's gonna be like they're gonna put him more
- 7:17at centre or playing on the wing because I think 1-2 punch in the
- 7:20middle of like Bedard and Nazar is going really well.
- 7:24You're one of us 3C or potential, you know, winger
- 7:28partner for Bedard. I think that is the most likely
- 7:31case and I think next year will be interesting to see where he
- 7:33goes in drafts. I think it's going to be a
- 7:35winger partner for sure. That's that's my that's my
- 7:38guess. I mean it they will change at
- 7:39some point, but the majority of of the year and the reason he's
- 7:42there, I think is to to have it. I remember there was like, you
- 7:44know, they do those like NHL simulations.
- 7:47Yeah, kind of like how their career is gonna shake out.
- 7:50Apparently. Frondel hide.
- 7:53Like aside from Schaefer, by far the most elite trajectory of the
- 7:572025 draft class. So he I mean, according to this
- 8:01video game is gonna be sick. But otherwise, yeah, I actually
- 8:08I think it could be really good. And the last thing I'll add to
- 8:10this is that he came from the Swedish league.
- 8:13He didn't all come from playing in, like, you know, the Junior
- 8:17Hockey League with Shell or the Cure.
- 8:18Anything that means that he's been playing against actual, you
- 8:22know, grown men come this year. Yeah.
- 8:25And it's one thing to dominate among your age group.
- 8:29It's another thing to be able to do well among a group of people
- 8:34who are similar in age and everything to the NHL.
- 8:37The NHL, the Swedish Hockey League is not like the NHL.
- 8:39It's not as strong, but it is still one of the most
- 8:42competitive leagues in the world.
- 8:43And he had 28 points in 43 games, meaning I think he's
- 8:47ready to play at this level and for the duration of the for the
- 8:52rest of the season, I do think he's going to do well.
- 8:55Yep, I agree. Alright, another another I would
- 9:00say surprise that we need to talk about is Dylan Garand of
- 9:04the New York Rangers. Now listen, it's only been a few
- 9:06games that he's played, but he's honestly looked exceptional on a
- 9:10New York Rangers team that is honestly like really bad right
- 9:14now. I mean, they're obviously not
- 9:15trying to win games the end of the season, but you know, Igor
- 9:18is ahead of him and I'm not saying that he's the new starter
- 9:21or whatever, but like grandmas look nice and some coaches asked
- 9:24for you know what to cook. Like the reporters asked what
- 9:28they feel about them and they do you think he deserves like, you
- 9:29know, more stars going into this end of the season, right, Like
- 9:31just kind of find out what you have like, is he the potential
- 9:34backup next season? Like we don't really know like
- 9:36quick as injured right now, but next year, like what does it
- 9:38look like? And I'm very interested to see
- 9:41what kind of happens here. Like I didn't know much about
- 9:43them going into this. I just know that he's played two
- 9:46games and like the last game that he played against Chicago
- 9:48was exceptional. So how do you kind of feel about
- 9:51it? I feel we don't really have the
- 9:52most knowledge on, you know, his prospect profile and what the
- 9:56general expectations are, but I'm excited from what I've seen
- 9:58so far. Yeah.
- 10:00So the reason I think that this is a hot topic is, is like a few
- 10:05a few things external to just go around performance, which, by
- 10:08the way, has been fantastic. I mean, he's played only two
- 10:10games, but he had a 946 and a 964.
- 10:14So that's tremendous. Yeah.
- 10:16And the Rangers do have a good schedule over the next two weeks
- 10:21of fantasy, AKA 2 1/2 weeks of real hockey.
- 10:25I don't anticipate that this is going to be a frontal like
- 10:29situation going into next year. I have any interest.
- 10:32So I'll just kind of say that. But for the rest of the year, I
- 10:35mean why overwork Igor who is their guy and he's paid as the
- 10:40guy and even though they were an $8 sign dollar sign poop storm
- 10:45this whole year, the Rangers like they they are depending on
- 10:49him to be their goalie of the future.
- 10:52This episode really Thursday, they have a back-to-back on
- 10:55Saturday. Sunday versus the Red Wings and
- 10:59the Capitals. Well, obviously we're expecting
- 11:01him to get one of those games, but I would not be surprised if
- 11:03we see him get, you know, the odd game here that's not a
- 11:06back-to-back just because, you know, give it more playing time,
- 11:09see what happens. And, you know, you don't need to
- 11:11work ego into the ground right now either, right, with how the
- 11:14season is going, so. Yeah, no, it's possible that
- 11:17like I mean best, best case scenario scenario gets 50% of
- 11:20the starts. Otherwise, I'd say he gets like
- 11:23on A4 game week. I think he's going to get I
- 11:26think he could get too, honestly.
- 11:28It's possible. It's possible.
- 11:30I was. That's going to shake.
- 11:31Out. I mean, I think The thing is in
- 11:33week in week 24, they have two games in the first week and then
- 11:37the week after they only have two games as well.
- 11:40So they have the worst playoff schedule for Week 24, right?
- 11:4421 to 23. Was week 20 to 23, was sick like
- 11:48they had four games in every one of those weeks.
- 11:49So I wonder if he ends up splitting those games, like 4
- 11:53games, maybe just two of them. I'd be curious to see.
- 11:55But do you feel very comfortable starting in a spot start at this
- 11:58point? Like I feel like the sample size
- 12:00suggests, yes. Yeah, I mean it, it is 2 games,
- 12:03but it's, it's like the spot starts are are difficult to to
- 12:08find. I mean, if you listen to the the
- 12:11waivers episode that came out on Sunday, you know, the the spot
- 12:15starts that were suggested or Fowler, she loves and who.
- 12:18So I think there's a world in which, you know, if Goran is
- 12:22confirmed for one of the games, he could be in that
- 12:24conversation. For like Saturday, Sunday,
- 12:27back-to-back. Yeah, there you go.
- 12:29There you go. So that's yeah, we'll, we'll
- 12:31see. We'll see how it shakes out.
- 12:34OK, let's move on. This is a big hot topic.
- 12:38Yeah, this one will spend a bit of time on.
- 12:40It's going to be fun. Yeah, I'm calling it the Battle
- 12:42of the East and the West because we have, like, sincere playoff
- 12:46battles, you know, still in the mix right now.
- 12:49I mean, we're roughly halfway through Week 23, and teams are
- 12:55still trying to fight to make the playoffs.
- 12:57So they were recording this slightly before and I mean off
- 13:02the off your gut instinct, who do you think out of the East is
- 13:06not making the playoffs? 2 teams are not gonna make it
- 13:09right now. OK, so so not making the
- 13:12playoffs like are we talking like OK, so.
- 13:16Teams that Rangers conversation are yeah, yeah.
- 13:19Montreal is still technically in the conversation.
- 13:22Columbus and Pittsburgh are still technically in the
- 13:24conversation. Boston, the Islanders, Ottawa
- 13:27and Detroit, so these are two of those teams are not making the
- 13:31playoffs. So, so Philly, like we're we're.
- 13:34I'm confident saying Philly is not making the playoffs.
- 13:37Alright, thank you. Come on.
- 13:40No, no, no, I I agree. Just love Mitch comma so much.
- 13:43Yeah, that's it. That's it.
- 13:45We're all Georges hate towards Michael.
- 13:46I I gotta balance it out somehow.
- 13:49So, yeah, I think that I think of the teams that are not gonna
- 13:54make the playoffs, you're saying that that it's two of them,
- 13:58Yeah. Two of them.
- 13:59Of those six I listed, two of them are not making the
- 14:02playoffs. So which 2 is that gonna be?
- 14:05This may be such a brutal take, but I I I think it's going to be
- 14:12Ottawa and Pittsburgh. Do you think Pittsburgh not
- 14:15making the playoffs? Yeah, that'd be devastating.
- 14:17Reason, though, I only because of the injuries.
- 14:20Yeah, like it's like they're not keeping Crosby out or walking
- 14:26out if they if they have a choice.
- 14:30And honestly, I don't really trust their goaltending at this
- 14:33stage. And I think that the team
- 14:34success really depends on those two players.
- 14:37So I. I mean, I hold down the Fort in
- 14:40the past when those guys were missing games earlier this
- 14:43season. So I don't think it's a complete
- 14:46like long shot, but definitely harder.
- 14:48Yeah, hey, like, and by the way, I want Pittsburgh to make it.
- 14:51I really, really do. This is The Last Dance Part 2,
- 14:54as as we alluded to on a previous episode, but
- 14:59realistically, Carolina, Buffalo, Tampa Bay are absolute
- 15:02locks. So at this point was over 90%
- 15:05chance they make the playoffs. Yeah, three of the eight playoff
- 15:09teams are are like, you know, a lock and then I think it could
- 15:13go the other way. I I think Boston, Boston's just
- 15:19been too good too, and so are the and the Islanders.
- 15:22I really like their acquisitions actually.
- 15:24I think they're a very solid team now with a great goalie.
- 15:26So yeah, I think if I had to guess, uh, Pittsburgh,
- 15:32Pittsburgh is gonna be at the short end of the stick.
- 15:34And who did I say? Pittsburgh?
- 15:35Ottawa, Yeah. OK, I think I'm going.
- 15:39I'm going the Islanders and I'm going Detroit.
- 15:43Really. Yeah, I mean, this is just a gut
- 15:45feeling, obviously, that we could be very wrong, but I think
- 15:48the Islanders just like they're relying too much on Sorokin and
- 15:51I think the rest of the team is kind of slowed down a little
- 15:53bit. Like we've seen them still have
- 15:54good quality games, but I think they're the team that's kind of
- 15:56just like trying to scrape by to make it in Detroit.
- 15:59Detroit, I think it's still a great team.
- 16:01Like honestly, I'm, I feel bad putting them out there, but I
- 16:04think for sure the haves are making it.
- 16:05I think for sure Columbus is making it.
- 16:07I think I've just been too hot near the end of the season and I
- 16:10Ottawa has also been on fire to right.
- 16:13So like but out of any of the teams, like if you were like, of
- 16:16course this team like choked and miss the playoffs is Ottawa
- 16:19right so. That's what that's kind of the
- 16:20vibe like. And they have been good.
- 16:22Like I said, I'm conflicted to say that I think they're gonna
- 16:24be the ones that are gonna miss. But I think Detroit, Detroit
- 16:27really feels like, I mean, they all feel like they have a chip
- 16:31on their shoulder that they're playing for something.
- 16:32But Detroit, like the whole thing with the Eiserman stuff
- 16:36and. You didn't enough moves to, you
- 16:39know, fight for a playoff battle when the teams around them did
- 16:41make moves. And I think this is the, this is
- 16:43the area of the season where that's where kind of bites you
- 16:46in the $8 sign, dollar sign. Yeah, that's it, That's it.
- 16:50So in conclusion, you believe it's going to be Buffalo, Tampa
- 16:54and Montreal as the three from the Atlantic.
- 16:57So that's gonna and then you think it's going to be Carolina,
- 17:01Pittsburgh, Columbus from the Metropolitan and then the two
- 17:05wild card, you think it's going to be Boston and Ottawa.
- 17:10Yeah, maybe not in that order. And I feel bad about saying
- 17:13yeah, yeah, not necessarily in that order, but I think those
- 17:15are the teams that will end up making it in.
- 17:17Obviously, a lot of this could go gravely wrong.
- 17:21Worst case scenarios that happens Mr. Playoffs and I'd be
- 17:23devastated but. That I don't think is going to
- 17:25happen. Like, I think that they're
- 17:26they're really. I really want this week to make
- 17:28the playoffs too, like I've been wanting to make of Carlson and
- 17:33Rachel, like this whole season so.
- 17:35Yeah, I'm like conflicted because I've had, I've had the
- 17:40Hagel Cutera V stock this year and it's just been so, so great.
- 17:44So I feel like they're kind of like by default my sort of non
- 17:47Habs team. That I'm yeah, I was one of the
- 17:49favorites of the whole thing, so.
- 17:51Yeah, I know. But at the same time, just for
- 17:53the story of it all, like if Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh can win,
- 17:56that would be like I would love to see.
- 17:58Pittsburgh would just be so fun. It would be.
- 18:00It would be. So, yeah, I really hope they
- 18:02don't miss it. I just like, how can they keep
- 18:03weathering the storm? And if they do, I think they're
- 18:06gonna be such a force in the playoffs.
- 18:08So yeah, what about the West? The West is West.
- 18:12Almost just as close to be honest.
- 18:14Well, the Central's a lock. Complete, complete lock that
- 18:17those top three teams I think are are good.
- 18:19One of those top three teams is gonna make sound like a final.
- 18:22That's what I. Think I know Edmonton this year?
- 18:25You never know. Yeah, No, I don't think it's
- 18:27Edmonton. I don't think it's Vegas.
- 18:28I don't think it's like that's who the top guys are in the
- 18:31Pacific. I think that the Central is just
- 18:33so those three teams are so dominant, Colorado, Dallas and
- 18:38Minnesota. So I think that's staying the
- 18:40way it is. I guess you could list off the
- 18:42ones in. Contention, yeah.
- 18:43The ones in contention I would say are Edmonton, Vegas, Utah,
- 18:48Nashville, Los Angeles Kings and Seattle I think are the only
- 18:54teams. And now depending how the games
- 18:57go between what like when we recorded this and when, when the
- 19:00episode comes out, it'll be like it might be a few games
- 19:03different. But I think in general, these
- 19:05are teams are still trying to fight for it.
- 19:07Now. I think the biggest thing is
- 19:08like Vegas, you would have assumed that I've been a lock
- 19:10for a while. Edmonton too, but like they have
- 19:12not been in good form. So they're they kind of made
- 19:15this possible race. Like the teams behind them are
- 19:18only like 2 or two to four points behind.
- 19:20So kind of feels like the the window is open there.
- 19:24But yeah, to me, I don't think actually the playoff team, like
- 19:27I think they're still winning games and it's crazy.
- 19:29We've been saying it all year, but I think at this point we saw
- 19:31them, we saw them sell some pieces.
- 19:33So it's kind of just like I, I just don't think that this is a
- 19:38team that even though they held on to all the veterans, I just
- 19:41don't think it's it's in the cards for them this year.
- 19:43I just don't think that's their plan whether it happens or not.
- 19:46I think it happens. But I think LA is a team that
- 19:47has been on the bubble that is starting to try to figure it
- 19:50out. And Seattle is the other team I
- 19:53think has just, I think they don't have it in them, but you
- 19:56never know. To me, Utah is like one of the
- 19:57stronger teams going into the end of the season, even though
- 20:00they do have a harder matchups. Yeah.
- 20:02So if I had to bet right now, who I don't think is making the
- 20:05players, I think it's Seattle. I think Nashville or not making
- 20:07the playoffs. Seattle and Nashville are not.
- 20:11Yeah, so you think LA? Is I think Ellie and I think LA
- 20:15takes Nashville spot and I think Seattle stays out out of it.
- 20:18Yeah, I actually agree there. I think that's exactly how it's
- 20:23gonna shake out. So we're on the same page for
- 20:25the West. To be honest, there's not much
- 20:27more to add. I think the reason that I had a,
- 20:31I think it's top of the Pacific this year.
- 20:33So there's that. But I think that what LA did in
- 20:38acquiring an error in acquiring lot and like all the moves that
- 20:41they made and they fired Hillary like they were really, really
- 20:44trying. And it just feels like feels
- 20:47like they're they're too good of an actual team to not make it.
- 20:50And even though Kemper had a horrible year, they're still
- 20:56that the team in front of them, like if you look at this roster
- 20:58like this, looking very, very solid.
- 21:00And they should be a playoff team.
- 21:02They should. So I think LA is gonna take
- 21:04Nashville spot. So in conclusion, in no
- 21:07particular order, I'll just kind of like list off the way we see
- 21:10this. The East I see as Buffalo, Taba,
- 21:14Montreal, Carolina, Columbus, Boston, NY and Detroit does 8
- 21:22teams right. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 21:26Yeah, yeah. So that's exactly it.
- 21:31So and then you see it as Buffalo, Tampa, Montreal,
- 21:35Carolina, Pittsburgh, Columbus, Boston and Ottawa.
- 21:42Ottawa, right? Yeah, Yeah.
- 21:44So I essentially the only difference there.
- 21:46I have the Islanders, I have the Islanders and the Red Wings over
- 21:53the Penguins and the Senators, right?
- 21:58Yes, that's the difference, how it's split.
- 22:01And then in the in the West, we believe both of us that it's
- 22:04going to be Colorado, Dallas, Minnesota, Anaheim, Edmonton,
- 22:08Vegas, Utah and LA. Yeah, I think we're on the same
- 22:12page for the West, right? So that's fun, yeah.
- 22:15And maybe, maybe we're just both be wrong.
- 22:17Who knows? Yeah, exactly, exactly.
- 22:20Well, see how it shakes out. It's gonna be fun to listen to
- 22:21this and see how it goes. Let us know in the Discord or in
- 22:24the comments on YouTube or Spotify, Apple, wherever you're
- 22:27listening, what you think and how it's gonna shake out and why
- 22:30we're right or wrong. Yes.
- 22:33All right, let's get into some mail back questions.
- 22:37We narrowed it down to 8 questions, all from the Discord.
- 22:40So if you want to ask a question, you wanna hear it on
- 22:42the podcast, we always make a post in the Discord a few days
- 22:46before we record. So that's the place to be if you
- 22:49want to ask your question. And I guess let's go get right
- 22:53into it. Some of these will be really
- 22:55fun. Brian from the Discord asked, do
- 22:58you guys find larger category leagues like 12 to 14 people
- 23:01harder than 10 men cast leagues? He says he personally thinks
- 23:05that 10 men's leagues should be hard because most of the teams
- 23:09in the league are bound to have like great teams.
- 23:11Since it's quote UN quote more shallower where you know, 12
- 23:15team leagues, it's harder to pick because you know, the
- 23:18players are more ambiguous on like who's going to be good and
- 23:20who's a drop and whatnot. Yeah.
- 23:22So I think that there's two components of that question and
- 23:25it's a really good one. If you're in a 10 man league,
- 23:27each team is pretty solid. So right, right there.
- 23:30I think the likelihood of people dropping off and not paying
- 23:33attention or whatever is going to be less likely because I
- 23:37think it's gonna be like the Atlantic Division this year,
- 23:39super tight. And you have no idea like up
- 23:43until the very end as to who's going to make it because you
- 23:47could already have like, like each team is inherently going to
- 23:50be better than a 14 team league. And then the second component
- 23:54has to do with the the amount of players on your waivers, right,
- 24:01Like in our waivers show that we do every week we go under 40% of
- 24:04them to kind of own to kind of cater to those leagues.
- 24:06But in many 10 man leagues, I believe that you can have like
- 24:1150% and under solid formidable players to choose from.
- 24:17So I think that that it's harder to rationalize picking up a guy
- 24:21who's lower percentage owned in a league like that.
- 24:25So in a way it makes it harder, you know what I'm saying?
- 24:27So I would say there's a world in which I can agree that a 10
- 24:30man league is harder. One, because it's gonna stay
- 24:32competitive for longer, and two, because your waivers are more
- 24:35plentiful and it means that finding the diamond in the rough
- 24:41is not as consequential because there's other guys that you have
- 24:45that you could pick. I mean, for that reason, I feel
- 24:48like I think for sure 100% twelve and 14 men's leagues are
- 24:51harder because with elsewhere without deep, they are your
- 24:56decisions have more consequences and the shallower your league
- 24:59is, I think the more the luck factor is high because, you
- 25:03know, picking between, you know, the 50th best player and the
- 25:0751st best player is like way less consequential than picking
- 25:11between like the 120th best player and like the 121st best
- 25:14player. Like the the difference is going
- 25:16to be more grave with the deeper it is.
- 25:19And I think your rewards managers that are better at
- 25:22planning for the future and evaluating talent or what's good
- 25:26on your team, Whereas like is it, do I feel like really
- 25:30rewarded if I picked like Mark Scheifele over Dylan Larkin type
- 25:33of thing? Like both are excellent players
- 25:36On a scale of 1 to 100, like maybe 1 was a 95 year old was
- 25:39like a 92. Like, yeah, you did the right
- 25:41decision, but it doesn't feel like rewarding because both were
- 25:44just like such good options, right?
- 25:45If there's no wrong answer. So that's kind of how I see it.
- 25:48I just feel because the teams are so stacked, it reduces the
- 25:53competitiveness and it increases the luck factor.
- 25:55Obviously all these other components come into play where
- 25:57like, you know, planning for schedule off nights and and all
- 26:00that. But in terms of like building a
- 26:04good squad and like finding those diamonds in the rough on
- 26:07waivers and like, I think that's the rewarding.
- 26:09That's how you can tell, like when you're a good fantasy
- 26:12manager and it makes the league more competitive in that way,
- 26:14like the best teams, you'll know where the best teams.
- 26:16Are so I think that OK, so we're kind of saying the same thing
- 26:21but with a different conclusion. So you're saying that because
- 26:24you it's separate, it's harder in a way to find the diamonds in
- 26:29the rough to build the team, especially like through, you
- 26:31know, like kind of scouring the waiver wire for and seeing the
- 26:35potential. Like that's harder.
- 26:37But I think that it's easier in a way because you can dedicate
- 26:41at that time listening to bank management fantasy hockey
- 26:44podcast and you know, looking at your waivers and by doing so,
- 26:49you will be rewarded, whereas you could.
- 26:51That's what I'm saying this is the difference is that you could
- 26:54spend that time in a 10 man league and still may not be
- 26:56rewarded. That's why I think it's harder.
- 26:59It's harder to win because the luck factor is higher, so I
- 27:01think the. Competitiveness is lower, that's
- 27:04what I'm saying. You know what I mean?
- 27:05But you wanted more competitiveness to be high.
- 27:07You want look to be low because then it rewards like it means
- 27:09like your actions actually have you know the consequences like
- 27:13your reward for making good actions, not just like reward
- 27:16for just like playing the league and having it go either way type
- 27:18of thing you. Know by and by the way I do
- 27:20prefer like 12 to 14 man yeah man teams you know what I mean
- 27:23but the reason that me you and Josh are always very competitive
- 27:26in our leagues is because we spend that time to like go above
- 27:30and beyond and by doing so we we gain a competitive advantage
- 27:36whereas in the 10 man league by by doing that that's why I
- 27:39concluded it was quote harder is because it doesn't necessarily
- 27:42reward you no, you know what I mean so it's fun it's a it's a
- 27:46fun question with a lot of philosophy that could go into it
- 27:49actually. Alright next question.
- 27:53Both show me Peugeot and also Joshua Furon kind of like echoed
- 27:57a similar sentiment on is, is hoarding any specific position
- 28:03to try to incite trades a valuable strategy?
- 28:07One of them they playing the where they only start 1 goalie
- 28:10and some guy was like hoarding like 7 or 8 goalies because he
- 28:13was just using them as trade to try to get people to trade with
- 28:15them. And somebody else is like, you
- 28:17know, they have, you know, 4 defensemen spots and people are
- 28:20like drafting only the high level defensemen to start their
- 28:22draft so they can try to trade them away for like, you know,
- 28:26yeah. How do you think it's a viable
- 28:28strategy? How do you feel about that?
- 28:30So OK, fantasy hockey is a binary outcome when it's all
- 28:36said and done. It doesn't mean you can't have
- 28:38fun if you don't win, but at the end of the day, you either win
- 28:41or you lose. So what happens is that this guy
- 28:46hoarding 7 or 8 goalies is not going to win his weeks because
- 28:50he's in a position where he's trying to like trade these guys
- 28:56in order to get better at other positions.
- 28:57This has happened in our league, we've seen this.
- 28:59And then what happens is like they ask for those goalies is
- 29:03ridiculous. But realistically, you know that
- 29:06this guy hoarding the goalies is probably at the bottom of your
- 29:08league. No, he's good.
- 29:10Exactly. Has no leverage and he's in
- 29:12desperation mode. So I don't think that this is a
- 29:15good strategy at all. I would never do it.
- 29:18I like to try to build a balanced team and sort of see
- 29:20how it goes. Maybe there's a category I
- 29:22sacrifice or whatever, but usually I just try to build my
- 29:25team to be competitive in every single way and then kind of work
- 29:29from there and see how it goes on.
- 29:30If you just decided to do that, frankly, I mean you, you as the
- 29:35non goalie hoarder are never in bad enough of a position that
- 29:39you're going to need to give up what he's requesting.
- 29:42He's not gonna get it in return. So right away that guy is out of
- 29:46it. And that means that that's just
- 29:47one less manager to compete with.
- 29:49Echoed a similar sentiment in the discord when I answered one
- 29:52of their questions. But it's basically like the
- 29:54people that try to hoard positions to trade them never
- 29:56end up succeeding and it's to their own detriment.
- 29:58Maybe they're just trying to, you know, some people just want
- 30:00to watch the world burn type of thing.
- 30:02You know, like they'll they'll hold all these goalies to try to
- 30:05like make everybody else's lives worse, but they'll just sit in
- 30:08last place and just enjoy it. I guess.
- 30:10I have no idea. But that strategy never works
- 30:12out because, you know, you're just ruining the supply and
- 30:15demand balance and people, you're assuming people will be
- 30:17willing to pay because they're desperate, but they're just like
- 30:20the the value ends up being so off off balance that it just
- 30:24never makes sense to make those trades.
- 30:25And they know that if you want to succeed, you have to drop
- 30:27these guys. It makes no sense, right?
- 30:29So I'd rather just wait for you to drop the guys and pick them
- 30:31up instead of giving up value to try to, you know, get them off
- 30:33your roster. Right.
- 30:34So it's like, OK, then the other guys, like, well, out of spite,
- 30:37I'm just gonna hold them. But like, OK, I'll just like,
- 30:40stream goalies on back to backs or whatever.
- 30:42And you sit there and last place hoarding all these guys you
- 30:45can't fit in your lineup. So yeah, it never works out.
- 30:48You never, never be that guy. And I never try to indulge in
- 30:50that guy either. Right?
- 30:51Like, we see it in fantasy football, too.
- 30:52Some people do the same thing with quarterbacks.
- 30:54You're only starting one day or like four or five quarterbacks.
- 30:56Like, Oh yeah, people are gonna try to get good quarterbacks
- 30:58from you. I'll just stream the position
- 31:00and make do, right? So same thing for hockey.
- 31:03But I guess I'm the only thing I'll add is that you can do that
- 31:06with a category as opposed to with a position that that can
- 31:10work. You could be a dominant faceoff
- 31:12wins team and like go into the year winning every league,
- 31:15everything basically, sorry, winning every week.
- 31:20And then what happens is that then you can kind of trade
- 31:22accordingly. And you know, you trade away one
- 31:24of your top faceoff wins teams to a team that needs it to be
- 31:28competitive also, but still maintain that category.
- 31:30That's a little bit different. Would you agree?
- 31:33Yeah, it is different. I still obviously like that,
- 31:36just requires more context throughout the season.
- 31:38But nonetheless, like when you're trying to hold a position
- 31:41to try to take it away from others, that just never works.
- 31:43Yeah, I know. Yeah, absolutely.
- 31:46All right, Jordan on discord asked if y'all had to build an
- 31:50all time starting lineup for Stanley Cup playoff run, who
- 31:53would it be? Said y'all can put position
- 31:55restrictions on this if you want to make it harder than it
- 31:57already is. Like skill, physicality, clutch,
- 31:59defensive ability, all factors in, not just most skills.
- 32:05So how about like we're not gonna make a whole starting
- 32:09lineup, but how about we just do or I guess starting starting
- 32:12lineup. So like 3 forwards, 2
- 32:13defensemen, 1 goalie and we can do it together pulling a Stanley
- 32:18Cup playoff run like all time. Maybe we just do recent years.
- 32:21So we're not like going all the way.
- 32:23Like I, I think Gretzky, I think you know, yeah, yeah, just like
- 32:26the last like 10 years ish. Yeah, very, very general.
- 32:31OK, well, well, OK, classic Homer answer.
- 32:34But that 2021 playoffs like what Carrie Price was able to do to
- 32:37like single handedly win, you know, three of the four series
- 32:40was nuts. So 21 Terry Price in the lineup.
- 32:42I mean, to me it was him or Vasilevsky just because of the
- 32:45dominant run we've seen in the playoffs from him.
- 32:47Yeah, exactly. McDavid, any given year, I think
- 32:52he has to be there. Even without the Cup, like you
- 32:55just feel like you gotta put him there, like just what he's done
- 32:57in the last like two or three years is enough to just have me
- 33:01be like, I need him on my team when it's clutch time.
- 33:04Yeah, so so they're they're hanging out over there that
- 33:08that's pretty good. I mean, I guess like this is a
- 33:11deep cut, like it can't count, but like Alec Martinez scoring
- 33:14that really clutch goal over LA and that's not counting.
- 33:18That doesn't count. OK, that's fair.
- 33:20OK, so we got those too, right? You gotta.
- 33:24You have to. You have to put there.
- 33:27You definitely pooch left wing over.
- 33:30But I will say Cooch, Cooch when they won the Stanley Cup, that's
- 33:33that's like a big kind of a big caveat.
- 33:35Sam Bennett from last year, No, he's gone.
- 33:39Are you kidding? You're not over me, David.
- 33:42No, but it's it's 3. Forwards, OK.
- 33:45I mean, I'm trying to make a line out here, you know?
- 33:47Sam Bennett, like had fifteen goals in 23 games in the
- 33:51playoffs last year. That was in, I don't know if you
- 33:53remember how crazy was absolutely automatic.
- 33:57He was completely, completely automatic.
- 34:00I have to put him there. I'm sorry, I feel.
- 34:02Some better than top three. OK, listen.
- 34:04I know that sounds nuts, but like it doesn't like honestly,
- 34:08OK, I don't wanna overload it with like the obvious McKinnon
- 34:12McDavid dry side. I feel like that's just like,
- 34:14you know what I mean? But I so like, so I'm gonna put
- 34:18I'm gonna put Bennett there. I feel like that's like.
- 34:20For the sake of not spending one hour on this topic, I'll agree
- 34:22with you, but let's go defenseman.
- 34:25Yeah, defenseman. That's a good one.
- 34:29Rasmus Dahlin, this coming year, I feel like he's just ready to
- 34:35just to just go hard. Would you say like just for like
- 34:39the tenure of light production, would you put Victor had been
- 34:42there even though this year is like the reverse of that?
- 34:46I, I have trouble doing that, to be honest, really.
- 34:49I, I have trouble putting like, yeah, I just, I feel like, I
- 34:53mean, I guess like, it does make sense, but I don't know.
- 34:56Eric Carlson's been huge in the playoffs for, in the past two
- 35:00times he was in the playoffs. I mean, we're dealing with 10
- 35:03years ago, the centres. He got 18 points in 19 games
- 35:06when they made their Stanley Cup run.
- 35:08And then with San Jose, when they made theirs, it was 16
- 35:11points in 19 games. So, I mean, they're always very
- 35:15productive. And maybe this isn't the he
- 35:18carries Pittsburgh to another Stanley Cup final.
- 35:20Who knows? Oh, we gotta put Crosby.
- 35:22Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yes, I got over 7 minutes.
- 35:28It's close, but Are you sure? I mean, yeah, Crosby's Crosby,
- 35:34but. OK, fun longer gold than what's
- 35:38that invented did last year or whatever and so. 20/17/2018 he
- 35:41got 21 points and 12 games. Yeah, OK, Yeah, OK.
- 35:45So Crosby's fine. I wanna put picture head man.
- 35:48I feel like Victor Hedman is just like even if he's not like
- 35:50the best power play quarterback, let's say, for example, has on
- 35:54the ice in terms of like being a good defenseman as well in the
- 35:57leadership. I know this year is like
- 35:59completely falling off the rails, but like, we're talking
- 36:01previous, Yeah. And maybe Eric Carlson to your
- 36:06point, but I mean, we're we're missing so many names.
- 36:09We're not gonna spend so much time on this.
- 36:10But I think that's a good, good lineup.
- 36:13Yeah, I I think what what is the final like Sam Bennett is a
- 36:17healthy. Scratch, yes, I bet it will be
- 36:19the healthy scratch and Mckinnon's in also a healthy
- 36:22scratch. But for me it's like Crosby,
- 36:25McDavid, Kucherov, let's say Eric Carlson and Victor Hammer
- 36:29with Kerry Price. 1120 twenty one.
- 36:32Sorry, not 2001. Or or or or all the players we
- 36:37mentioned. Just none of them.
- 36:39And just Patrick Maroon. It worked out.
- 36:42The helicopter pad Maroon was unstoppable for that season over
- 36:48carrier price. Yeah, Pat Maroon and Bennington,
- 36:50just them too, could take on the entire.
- 36:52World Alright, well we unfortunately have to move on to
- 36:56the next question, but Joshua Furon also asked how different
- 37:02are the teams you drafted from the teams you have now?
- 37:05Like did 80% of your roster survive?
- 37:06Did like the bottom few picks turned into streamers that
- 37:10trades massively shake up the team?
- 37:11Like he said, going into the playoffs he had 10 of 16 of his
- 37:14players in one league and eight of 16 of the players in the
- 37:16other. So almost half of his players
- 37:18swapped between like the draft and like the end of the season.
- 37:21OK, let me like, let me actually count.
- 37:24I'm curious because I feel like the top team in our league.
- 37:28I was about to say I was like if you if your team is not at least
- 37:3150% different then it means you're not dedicating enough
- 37:33time to fantasy yet. The top team in our league made
- 37:35what? Like let me debate one.
- 37:38Through trade in the beginning of the season that they might
- 37:41still end up winning the league, who knows?
- 37:44Who I'm talking about, I'm talking about the guy who ended.
- 37:47Up in first place. Yeah, the guy who ended up in
- 37:49first place barely made any moves and he's done.
- 37:51He made one move tremendously well, and I think he regrets it
- 37:55kind of. I don't know, I got this.
- 37:59All this is there they go like I think you're your team if you're
- 38:02a dedicated manager, should be about like 50% different.
- 38:05Who is still on my team. I have, yeah, not a lot.
- 38:12It's definitely less than we have less.
- 38:14Than 20% we have 20 lineup spots plus some IRS.
- 38:19Let me count how many people that were not on my team when I
- 38:22drafted. Yeah, yeah.
- 38:25I have seven of the 20 players. That's that's nothing.
- 38:29That's like. Ten of my players were not on my
- 38:32roster when I drafted. That's the trades or pickups,
- 38:35yeah. I have 35% of my squad from the
- 38:39beginning and one of them is Jason Zucker, who I dropped and
- 38:42then picked up again. Do you?
- 38:43Still on the team when you drafted so that doesn't count.
- 38:46What do you mean? Like you drafted him, right?
- 38:48I did drop it, yeah. And then I dropped them and then
- 38:50I picked them up. So yeah, seven of the 20.
- 38:52Players yeah, that's almost half as well.
- 38:54Like it's and that that's a good thing, right?
- 38:56Like that means you're making it far into the playoffs.
- 38:58Like if you if you look at the standings in your leagues, I've
- 39:01done this analysis before, but there's a strong correlation
- 39:04between the amount of moves you make and the success you have.
- 39:07And like if you look at the playoff teams and you look at
- 39:08the non playoff teams, the playoff teams tend to have like
- 39:12significantly more, you know, waiver moves throughout the
- 39:14season than the bottom half. And it's just because the more
- 39:17active you are, the more you're keeping up with trends, the more
- 39:19you're making those tough decisions.
- 39:20This guy is out of form because inform that we make the swap and
- 39:23that's why you build a better better fantasy teams.
- 39:26Absolutely. Yeah, next question Camino
- 39:30asked. This was directed to Josh.
- 39:32So Josh, if you will please answer this question.
- 39:35He alludes to his spreadsheet a lot.
- 39:37How do you incorporate the anticipated category stats
- 39:39within your Excel? Is it automated or manual update
- 39:41or do you take the last season average or just plug it in for
- 39:43the whole year? He says he wants to up mine from
- 39:46this year and that's the next step.
- 39:48So I have, I have my own model as well.
- 39:51I refer to it not as often as Josh does to his, but I know
- 39:56Josh pulls season average stats in Sicily.
- 40:00So he's just always looking at that.
- 40:02I have more of a manual approach.
- 40:03I, I try to like mimic the stats of the players that are, you
- 40:06know, informed. So like if the last 14 days is
- 40:10more representative of a players like, you know, anticipated
- 40:13value for my week no matchup, then I'll use that as opposed to
- 40:16like the season stats because, you know, deployments change and
- 40:18something not relevant anymore. So I usually have a manual
- 40:21approach of like last 14 days, last 30 days, season average and
- 40:25I consistently update that and then, you know, I do the
- 40:28averages. Times, you know, the amount of
- 40:30games to play in the week and it gives me like a rough estimate
- 40:31of like what I should expect from my team going into this
- 40:34following mix matchup. And I plan accordingly.
- 40:37And also I will say that early in the season, I tend to use
- 40:44previous season data to populate my model at the start of like
- 40:48the first like 2-3 weeks, let's say, until things start
- 40:51averaging out and you have a good enough sample size of like
- 40:53what this new season looks like. So that's what I would do.
- 40:57Maybe in the offseason we make a little tool on like, you know,
- 41:02put our models and like maybe we make it a Patreon tier or
- 41:04something like an offer it. If you guys want to use our
- 41:07models and like you know, up your fantasy level, that can be
- 41:11something that we offer if people are really interested.
- 41:14Yeah, Yeah, I, I guess the like the only thing I'll add to that
- 41:18is that the, the situational circumstances are huge in in
- 41:21this factor, right. I mean, after I picked up Chikov
- 41:26Travon, Columbus was totally different.
- 41:27Than General exactly, yeah. And that that's like also like
- 41:30an intra team deployment situation that it could really
- 41:34change. Some guy goes from line 4 power
- 41:36play 2 to line one power play one with like it really does
- 41:41change. So even if you do use the models
- 41:43like, don't follow them religiously.
- 41:47Do this as a last question, uh, guy 81 in the discord asked are
- 41:52you guys making or joining any fantasy pools for the playoffs?
- 41:56If so, what format are you playing in?
- 41:58He created a format with his friends where he chooses four
- 42:00teams in the east and the West. And then we pick a player from
- 42:02each team we pick and after it's like 1 points I think he said.
- 42:07And after it's one point, a win, 2 points, a goal, one point and
- 42:11assist. And then he just said he's
- 42:13curious to hear what we do. We do, we do one pool every
- 42:16year. Jake usually runs.
- 42:18It's really a good system. So all the back stories that I
- 42:21wanted to implement something, and this is during COVID where
- 42:24it's like, you know, the hockey season abruptly ended and then
- 42:28they bring it back for the bubble.
- 42:29And it was the whole thing. And like, I was like, hey, we
- 42:31gotta do something. Because, you know, the fantasy
- 42:34season can't just end like that. And I know we always want more
- 42:37hockey, more fantasy. Hockey.
- 42:39So what happened was as I suggested we do something where
- 42:42it was like you actually pick a draft of players and it's sort
- 42:46of the same thing as like a snake draft as you would do
- 42:49where you pick players from teams, obviously only the
- 42:51playoff teams. And then as the rounds go on,
- 42:54you know you'd get eliminated. So these success was really
- 42:57depending on also the team success.
- 42:59But then I someone suggested what we do instead is like kind
- 43:03of a blind draft of sorts, not even dropped, just a selection
- 43:07where let's say just for this example, I could pick my team,
- 43:10could have McKinnon, McDavid, etc.
- 43:12And Kevin could have his same players.
- 43:15You have 10 forwards, 4 defensemen and two goalies.
- 43:17And then by the time the playoffs start, everyone's team
- 43:20is revealed and you see how it's going.
- 43:21Now, the issue I thought was, well, everyone's gonna have a
- 43:25similar team, They're just gonna pick the top players.
- 43:27But we've had years and years of this where there's been like 20
- 43:32ish teams in the league, you know, ranging between let's say
- 43:3515 and 25. And it's never been the one team
- 43:40exactly replicated the next. So it was actually really cool.
- 43:43I mean, I guess like if you're dealing with like 100 teams or
- 43:46whatever, like, yeah, maybe. There's going to be some
- 43:48overlap. Yeah, but there's always
- 43:51overlap, like everyone always has to McDavid and Dryside all.
- 43:53But it's really the way that you kind of separated is last year
- 43:59I'm pretty sure the winner was the only one who had Sam Bennett
- 44:01on his team as an example. So it's really cool because it's
- 44:05contingent on the team success and also the players success.
- 44:10Like you don't want to go too many teams because if you go,
- 44:13you know, just the best player from every team, then someone
- 44:15who has, let's say last year Florida who went deeper than
- 44:20Tampa Bay, if you just picked Kucherov and Barkov, it wouldn't
- 44:25have done as well as picking, let's say Barkov and Bennett.
- 44:27So it's a really cool mix. That's what we do.
- 44:29And then there's also just the brackets that you can get on.
- 44:32Hill Yep, I love making a bracket.
- 44:34We will 100% run a banger management back bracket bracket
- 44:38challenge. That'll be really fun.
- 44:40Yeah, maybe we give a prize to the winner or something like a
- 44:43free entry into the banger management league next year or
- 44:46something like that. But I, I think that the system
- 44:49that we have is really fun because it's different from like
- 44:51the regular fantasy we play through the whole season.
- 44:53So like Jackie said, you're basically just picking guys and
- 44:56you want to want to like, you don't want to spread yourself
- 44:57too thin. Like if you just pick the best
- 44:58players on every team, maybe you'll have a really good round
- 45:01one. But then after that, as people
- 45:02start getting eliminated, you're really diluting the amount of
- 45:04points you're going to be able to get later in the later in the
- 45:07playoffs. So we kind of wanted like and
- 45:09told it into like maybe three to five teams on the teams you
- 45:11think will make it the furthest and pick the best players on
- 45:13those teams. And then listen, not everybody
- 45:15thinks the same teams are gonna make it all the way in, right?
- 45:18And maybe you one team has Sam Bennett and somebody else has
- 45:23over Hague like last we've seen in recent years type of thing,
- 45:25right. And the difference between one
- 45:27of those is maybe the difference maker on who makes it further
- 45:29right. So it's very.
- 45:30Fun. And I've also seen where people
- 45:32try to pick like one team from the East, one team from the West
- 45:35and load up 5050 on those teams and.
- 45:37Then just hope they both teams make it like a final.
- 45:40And like, let's say it's like you pick Carolina and Colorado,
- 45:43but you don't pick McDavid. McDavid goes to the semis, loses
- 45:46the. Colorado goes to the finals.
- 45:47Like 3 Series of. McDavid is probably gonna do
- 45:51like 2 series of. David could be better than the
- 45:55seventh player. You're picking on the team that
- 45:57makes the finals, you know? Yeah, like I am very confident
- 46:00that if McDavid goes 3 Series in the playoffs, he's gonna
- 46:03outscore Chaudry in four. Yeah, you know what I mean?
- 46:06So it's like people really have to kind of there's like a whole
- 46:09system and I don't haven't found the right answer yet.
- 46:11Yeah, you know, I've. Never made it.
- 46:13Made it. Yeah, there.
- 46:15People have used AI to try to come up with their teams and
- 46:18they they don't win, so AI has not.
- 46:19Outsmart ever. I would never let a I pick my
- 46:22fantasy team that's. For sure.
- 46:23Exactly. So like AI is not like, you
- 46:26know, more sophisticated than the human approach to this.
- 46:30So all this to say, yeah, it's really fun.
- 46:33We'll see what we end up doing. But the bracket challenge that
- 46:36I'm really excited about because I feel like I do not do well at
- 46:41that. This is not my Forte, but it's
- 46:44always fun. It's always fun to see why.
- 46:48And Josh always makes his bracket.
- 46:50Every year he just does one bracket.
- 46:51He puts the Habs as the Stanley Cup champion, so.
- 46:53Yeah. One one year he'll be right, and
- 46:57that year it'll be pretty fun. That's it, that's it.
