- 0:01Matthew chapter 8. Let us pray.
- 0:05Heavenly Father, we thank you for another time to come and
- 0:08learn about you, Lord, just to sit at your feet, Lord, to dine
- 0:12and Sup with you. Thank you God, for healing us.
- 0:15Thank you God, for giving us purpose.
- 0:17Thank you God, for all the many blessings, Lord, that we've
- 0:21already experienced today, for the breath in our lungs, for the
- 0:24ability to think and to reason, God, and to to feel, Lord, and
- 0:30to sense that you are in the room.
- 0:32And Lord Holy Spirit, I pray you'll fill us today, fill us
- 0:38overflowing. God, help us to understand these
- 0:40words. Give us discernment from on
- 0:43high. I pray for healing from on high.
- 0:46God, I pray in the name of Jesus that you'll rebuke the devourer
- 0:49from off of our families and off of our lives and off of our
- 0:52houses, off of our cars, God, off of our workplaces.
- 0:56I pray in the name of Jesus for peace, God, peace and our
- 1:01bodies, peace over our minds, God, I pray peace over our
- 1:05hearts, Lord, I pray peace over this nation.
- 1:09Father, I pray that you, Lord, will come and have your will and
- 1:13have your way. And it is all about King Jesus
- 1:17and it'll always be about King Jesus.
- 1:19The Spirit and the Bride say, come, we are crying out, Father
- 1:24ABBA, we're crying out. Come, Lord, come.
- 1:28Yes, Lord Jesus, we await your second coming.
- 1:33We await you to make everything right.
- 1:37And we are trusting. We are believing that this is
- 1:40not the end. We are trusting and we are
- 1:42believing that you and your words are true.
- 1:46We have faith, God, faith to move mountains, faith the size
- 1:52of a mustard seed. And our faith is in Jesus
- 1:55Christ. Our faith is in the only one who
- 2:01can make every wrong thing right.
- 2:04So we exalt that name over our circumstances.
- 2:08We exalt that name over our emotions.
- 2:10We exalt that name over our circumstances.
- 2:14We exalt that name over everything that poses itself as
- 2:20reality. God, we tap into the power
- 2:25source. Lord, we increase our faith.
- 2:28Today, in the name of Jesus, I pray, Amen.
- 2:33Let's start in verse one. When he was come down from the
- 2:39mountain, great multitudes followed him.
- 2:42So if you've been following along for the last few chapters,
- 2:46you'll know that this was after the Sermon on the Mount and that
- 2:50is the mount that is referenced here in chapter 8.
- 2:53Go back and listen to those chapters.
- 2:55Go back and read those chapters. Go back and study and meditate
- 2:58on those chapters. There's a great deal of of what
- 3:02is expected of you believer. It is contained in those three
- 3:08chapters. And here Jesus is going to put
- 3:11the stamp on his divinity. He's going to put the stamp on
- 3:17his righteous royalty. He's going to put the stamp that
- 3:22he is God Incarnate. And here you're going to see in
- 3:25the next couple chapters how Jesus Christ is showing the
- 3:31world that he is the Son of God. He is the Son of Man. 2 And
- 3:39behold, there came a leper and worshipped him, saying, Lord, if
- 3:46you're willing, you can make me clean.
- 3:52Notice here that this leper was breaking all the laws.
- 3:57He was supposed to stay 25 feet away, 150 feet away, depending
- 4:04on how the wind blew. He was supposed to stay far away
- 4:09from society as possible. And he's supposed to cry out
- 4:13unclean, unclean. And look how he approaches King
- 4:17Jesus. Look how he bows down and he
- 4:20worships him and he knows who he's dealing with.
- 4:25He knows that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and he can make
- 4:32him clean. And that is a picture for you
- 4:34and I. We were once this leper.
- 4:37We were once unclean, full of sin.
- 4:41We were once separated from the goodness of God.
- 4:45And it is through this humble worship that we come to know who
- 4:51it is that we're worshiping the King of kings and the Lord of
- 4:55Lords, The only one that can make us clean, the only one that
- 4:59can wash away our sins and make us white as snow.
- 5:05Three. And Jesus put forth his hand,
- 5:07and he touched him, saying, I will be clean.
- 5:14And immediately his leprosy was cleansed.
- 5:18Imagine that Jesus defiled himself here.
- 5:23Jesus touched a leper. This went against every Jewish
- 5:30ritual law that was given through Moses.
- 5:34This went against every bit of it.
- 5:36But Jesus Christ was not scared to touch him, and he put on him
- 5:43the cleanliness that comes from Jesus Christ, and He did that
- 5:48for you, and He did that for me, Friends, He's not afraid of your
- 5:53sin. He's not afraid of your
- 5:55defilement. He's not afraid of your dirt.
- 5:58He's not afraid of your addictions.
- 6:00He's not afraid of your past. He's not afraid of you.
- 6:07He is willing. And he stretches forth his hand,
- 6:11and he touches you, friend, and he cures you, and he heals you.
- 6:15And he takes away that reprobate mind.
- 6:18He takes away that addiction to pornography.
- 6:20He takes away your murderous acts.
- 6:25He takes away your fits of rage. He takes away your insecurities.
- 6:30He takes away all the times you tear other people down just to
- 6:34build yourself up within your own mind.
- 6:37He takes away your childhood trauma.
- 6:40He takes away all of the past, all of the things that people
- 6:44have done to you to hurt you. He stretches forth his hand and
- 6:48he cleanses you and He makes you a new creation.
- 6:52That's my story, friends, and it can be yours.
- 6:57I pray in the name of Jesus that if anyone is in Christ, they're
- 7:01a new creation. The old things have passed away.
- 7:03Behold, the new has come, and this leper is going to
- 7:06experience a new lease on life. This leper is going to
- 7:10experience cleansing and wholeness and cleanness and
- 7:15purity. And you and I, we can experience
- 7:18that through the blood of the lamb, Friends says immediately
- 7:27He was cleansed. That is what happens with you
- 7:31and with me, friends. It is immediate.
- 7:35He takes away our sins, but then we go through the process which
- 7:40is sanctification, which is becoming more and more like
- 7:43Jesus Christ every day, which is verse 4.
- 7:47And he said unto him, see that you tell no man, but go your way
- 7:52and show yourself to the priest, and offer the gift that Moses
- 7:57commanded for a testimony unto them.
- 8:01Verse 4 is a is a loaded verse. Verse 4.
- 8:07We could camp out for a good while.
- 8:09On verse 4. Notice how it says that it is a
- 8:13testimony unto them. This was not something that they
- 8:17encountered ever. Once you became a leper, there
- 8:22was no cure and all other than the miraculous Moses, when he
- 8:29prescribed what the ceremonial duties for a priest were to do
- 8:34If someone was cleansed from leprosy.
- 8:38Once he prescribed that, it never really got performed
- 8:43because no one who contracted leprosy was ever healed.
- 8:49So here Jesus is saying, go as a testimony unto them, Show
- 8:54yourself to be clean. And they would have known this
- 8:56man to have leprosy prior, and they would have seen him
- 9:00spotless and clean. And what a word for you and what
- 9:03a word for me, and what a word for this wicked and perverse
- 9:07generation when God heals us from on high, when he cleanses
- 9:12us, when we become that new creation.
- 9:15And we go out and they say, isn't this the man that used to
- 9:19do all these things? How is it that he's in his right
- 9:22mind? And that is what Jesus does for
- 9:25us, friends, you know, when we meet Saints and we meet people
- 9:31who have a wonderful life and a wonderful testimony and they
- 9:36have the peace of God ruling and reigning in their hearts, it
- 9:41doesn't take much of A sit down and conversation with those
- 9:47people to find out where they came from and what their life
- 9:52was like prior. And that is the beauty of the
- 9:55gospel of Jesus Christ. It cleanses us from all
- 9:59unrighteousness. It puts us in heavenly places
- 10:03with him, and we get to see the world the way that God does.
- 10:08And there was once a time where we were wretched.
- 10:10There was once a time that we were blind and deaf and God
- 10:15pulled us up out of the muck and the mire.
- 10:18God snatched us from the fire, and he put a new robe on us, and
- 10:23he put a ring on us, and he made us sons and daughters of the
- 10:27Most High King, and we will rule and reign with him forevermore,
- 10:32and we will be there with him forevermore, praise God.
- 10:36Hallelujah. 5 And when Jesus entered into Capernaum, there
- 10:42came unto him a centurion begging him.
- 10:46So a little side note, the centurion, he would have been a
- 10:48man over 100 soldiers. He was a Gentile, He was not a
- 10:53Jew. And here he comes to Jesus
- 10:57Christ as Jesus enters into his hometown and he falls on his
- 11:02knees and he's begging him. He says, Lord, my servant lies
- 11:08at home sick of the palsy, grievously tormented.
- 11:15Perhaps his servant had become a paralytic, and he was in such
- 11:19pain. 7 And Jesus said unto him, I am willing to come and heal
- 11:25him. We should always assume that
- 11:29Jesus is willing to heal. We should always assume that He
- 11:37is willing. When we stretch out our hands
- 11:40and we lay hands and we pray over somebody, we should be
- 11:47assumptuous that Jesus is willing.
- 11:52It is only by Him revealing to us that whatever infirmity that
- 11:58we are suffering is going to bring Him the most amount of
- 12:02glory. Should we not ask for that
- 12:08anymore? If you remember, 3 times Paul
- 12:11begged of the Lord, and three times the Lord said that in his
- 12:18weakness he is made strong. And so we should ask for healing
- 12:24from on high. We should be persistent in that
- 12:27healing until the Lord reveals to us that it is His will for
- 12:32that infirmity to remain. Hey, the centurion answered and
- 12:40said, Lord, I'm not worthy that you should come under my roof,
- 12:44but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed.
- 12:48So this centurion, he understood the power of Jesus Christ.
- 12:52He understood how all Jesus had to do is speak a word.
- 12:57He spoke everything into existence.
- 13:00He spoke the planets and the universe, everything that teams
- 13:04in the ocean and flies above us in the heavens.
- 13:08Everything he spoke and it came to be.
- 13:14And so therefore all He has to do is speak the Word, and the
- 13:19healing comes from on. High Praise God. 9 For I am a
- 13:25man under authority, and I have soldiers under me.
- 13:29And I say to this man, go, and he goes, and I say to another,
- 13:32come, and he comes, and to my servant do this.
- 13:35And he does it, This centurion. He understands hierarchy, he
- 13:39understands the brigade system, he understands how the army
- 13:45works, and God is the God of the Angel armies.
- 13:50And so this centurion understands that all Jesus has
- 13:54to do as the Son of God is to speak the word, and it shall be
- 13:58done. We need to believe that,
- 14:00friends. 10 When Jesus heard it, he marveled, and he said, that
- 14:06followed. Truly I say unto you, I have not
- 14:09found such great faith. No, not in Israel.
- 14:13So what a cut down, what a what a sly remark towards the Jews
- 14:20that Jesus would say such a fond thing of a Gentile.
- 14:25And it is a foreshadowing of you and me being brought into the
- 14:30fold. Friends, His plan from the
- 14:33beginning was for the whole world and the Jews.
- 14:37They had thought that there would never be a Gentile to
- 14:40enter into heaven, and they had thought that there would never
- 14:43be a Jew to go to hell. And here with this one
- 14:46statement, Jesus tears down all their presuppositions.
- 14:50Friends, all their preconceived ideas of how heaven and hell
- 14:55work. Here Jesus Christ, the Son of
- 14:59God, tells us that you will be grafted in Gentile 11 And I say
- 15:08unto you, that many shall come from the east and the West, and
- 15:12shall sit down with Abraham and Isaac and Jacob in the Kingdom
- 15:16of heaven. Praise God.
- 15:18Hallelujah shows you here that heaven will be relational.
- 15:21We will know each other, friends.
- 15:23It is not a place that we go to float around on clouds and sing
- 15:27hymns. Heaven is relational, and there
- 15:31are two things that we can start now that we will be doing for
- 15:36all of eternity #1 worship. Worship Him like the leopard
- 15:41did, Friends. Worship Him knowing how far
- 15:45you've come from. Worship Him knowing that He's
- 15:47the only one who has made you clean.
- 15:49Worship Him knowing that it is the blood of the Lamb that
- 15:53cleanses us from all iniquities and unrighteousness.
- 15:56Worship Him and #2 relationships.
- 16:05We can start those relationships now that we will have for all of
- 16:09eternity. And when we've been there 10,000
- 16:14years, bright, shining as the sun, we have no less days to
- 16:19sing His praise than when we first begun.
- 16:22Praise God. Hallelujah.
- 16:25We will know each other and He shows us that we will be
- 16:28sitting. It will be a restful place.
- 16:30We will see Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in the Kingdom of heaven.
- 16:3512 But the children of the Kingdom shall be cast out into
- 16:42outer darkness, and there shall be weeping and gnashing of
- 16:45teeth. So he's showing the Jews that
- 16:48they, if they cannot trust in the lineage of Abraham to get
- 16:53them into heaven, that if they continue in their idolatry, if
- 16:59they continue in their disbelief, they will be
- 17:03vanished. They will send themselves to
- 17:05hell. They will send themselves to
- 17:08where there is weeping and gnashing of teeth and the worm
- 17:11never dies and is the unquenchable fire, and there
- 17:14will be torment there. And it is nowhere that anybody
- 17:18would ever want to go here. Jesus is showing the Jews that
- 17:24the Gentiles are running ahead of them. 13 And Jesus said unto
- 17:30the centurion, Go your way, as you have believed, so be it done
- 17:34unto you. And his servant was healed in
- 17:37the self same hour. Imagine that.
- 17:40Imagine going and imagine asking when did you start feeling
- 17:44better? When did you get up and leap
- 17:46like the gazelle? And they would have said it this
- 17:48time, and he would have thought back and said, wow, praise God,
- 17:51Hallelujah. That was the exact time that
- 17:54Jesus Christ, the Messiah, the anointed, 1 Jesus of Nazareth,
- 18:01That was the moment he said, go your way, for your servant has
- 18:04been healed. All Jesus has to do is say a
- 18:08word in healing from on high. Instantaneous healing,
- 18:12miraculous healing from on high. Praise God, Hallelujah. 14 And
- 18:19when Jesus was coming to Peter's house, he saw his wife's mother
- 18:23laid and sick of a fever. So here we can see that Peter
- 18:29had a wife, Peter was married. What a thought, what a thought
- 18:34of Peter leaving everything to follow the Lord.
- 18:38And here Jesus is bringing him back into Capernaum and he's
- 18:44bringing him back in and staying at Peter's house.
- 18:48And here Peter's mother-in-law sick. 15 He touched her hand,
- 18:55and the fever left her, and she arose and ministered unto them.
- 18:59Praise the Lord, that is our response when the Lord heals us
- 19:03as we get up and we serve him. 16 When the evening was come,
- 19:10they brought unto him many that were possessed with devils, and
- 19:14he cast out the spirits with his word, and he healed all that
- 19:20were sick. Jesus is willing to heal, to
- 19:27cast out the demonic, to cast out infirmities.
- 19:31Jesus is willing call upon that name today, friends, and be
- 19:36healed. It is the name of Jesus.
- 19:40It is the name above every name that breaks the chains, that
- 19:44drives out the darkness. It is the name Jesus Christ.
- 19:48Bring that name upon your lips today.
- 19:51All who call on the name of the Lord shall be saved. 17 that it
- 19:59might be fulfilled, which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet
- 20:02saying himself took our infirmities and bore our
- 20:08sickness. So as the healing power left out
- 20:11of Jesus, even though he was all God, he was all man, and it
- 20:18depleted and wiped him out. And here Isaiah prophesied that
- 20:23he's. Bearing all of our infirmities
- 20:25and our sickness. So this is perhaps one of the
- 20:30reasons that it says that Jesus often withdrew to desolate
- 20:37places. He went to go and be filled with
- 20:41the presence of God and to be refueled and to be completely
- 20:49filled back up because of healing power was leaving.
- 20:55And yes, He is all God and He is omnipotent and all the power of
- 21:0010,000 Suns surge from him. And for him to identify with our
- 21:10manhood, with our infirmities and sicknesses.
- 21:16He understood what it was to be depleted. 18 Now when Jesus saw
- 21:26great multitudes about him, he gave commandment to depart unto
- 21:32the other side. So Jesus here he sees all the
- 21:36people pressing in, and they're bringing all their sick and all
- 21:40their demon possessed, and he's bringing them all the ones who
- 21:44are paralytic, and he's bringing them all the ones who are not
- 21:51well. And he is seeing them pressing
- 21:55in and it says that he healed all of them.
- 21:57But as the crowds continued on, he said, let's depart from here.
- 22:0219 A certain scribe came and said unto him, Master, I will
- 22:09follow you wherever you go. I'm sure that he meant well.
- 22:13I'm sure that he thought to himself, I have special skill
- 22:17set that I can offer to you. 20 Jesus said unto him, Foxes have
- 22:26holes and birds of the air have nests, but the Son of man has
- 22:31nowhere to lay his head. So here you can see that Jesus
- 22:35is being honest with him. Jesus is saying, if you are
- 22:39thinking that following after me is resulting in these massive
- 22:43crowds and we can gather some kind of financial gain from this
- 22:50following, I want you to know that the work that I have to do
- 22:57is 1 where we will be driven from town to town, and we will
- 23:02not even know where we're going to sleep.
- 23:05Jesus was being real with this man. 21 And another of his
- 23:10disciples said unto him, Lord, suffer me first to go and bury
- 23:15my father. So here you can see these
- 23:18titles, these messianic titles that are being given to Jesus
- 23:23Christ. He's being called Lord, He's
- 23:26being called the Son of Man. He calls himself the Son of Man.
- 23:30He's identifying himself with our humanity.
- 23:38He's identifying himself with us when he says the Son of Man.
- 23:41He's beckoning us back to Daniel.
- 23:44He's beckoning us back to the Messiah.
- 23:47He's beckoning us back to Christ.
- 23:50He's beckoning us back to the promises of the Old Testament
- 23:54being fulfilled in his life. Here, friends, 400 years after
- 23:59the close of the Old Testament, here Matthew is pinning down all
- 24:04these events for you and for me to read. 2000 years later, we're
- 24:11still talking about it. He is the Son of Man, He is the
- 24:15Lord, He is the Son of David, He is our Messiah, and we should
- 24:20not wait for another. And here this disciple is
- 24:25saying, let me go and wait out my father until he dies, and
- 24:31then I'll bury him. Then I'll come find you.
- 24:33And what does Jesus have to say? Jesus said to him, Follow me and
- 24:38let the dead bury their dead. Wow, what a statement of Christ.
- 24:44Christ here is telling this disciple.
- 24:46He's saying that if you are not chosen before the foundations of
- 24:52the earth, you are dead in your trespasses.
- 24:55And if you were to die without the Holy Spirit indwelling you,
- 24:59if you were to die without acknowledging Jesus Christ as
- 25:03Lord, you are dead now and you will be twice dead then.
- 25:08And for us, we were once dead, but Jesus Christ dawned on the
- 25:15scene and we looked over the hill and we grabbed a hold of
- 25:18the hem of His garment. We received our healing from on
- 25:21high, and we are following after Him.
- 25:24We've put our hands to the plow. We've locked eyes with Him, and
- 25:27we are following after Him hard. Wherever He goes.
- 25:31Praise the Lord, let's not sit on our blessed assurance.
- 25:35Let's be found. Let's get into game, friends.
- 25:37Let's make sure we're telling everyone about Jesus Christ.
- 25:41Go and follow Him. He's worthy of all of your
- 25:45adoration. Let the dead bury the dead. 23
- 25:52And when he had entered into a ship, his disciples followed
- 25:56him. And behold, there arose a great
- 25:59Tempest in the sea, in so much that the ship was covered with
- 26:04the waves, but he was asleep. Jesus Christ asleep in the boat,
- 26:15all of the disciples there in the boat with them, and here
- 26:21comes this Tempest. And perhaps the enemy was trying
- 26:26to capsize the boat, get rid of the Son of God, get rid of all
- 26:32the disciples that were going to go out into the ends of the
- 26:35earth and be martyred for the faith and to push the seed down
- 26:39in the ground. That would result in your
- 26:41salvation and my salvation and thousands upon thousands of
- 26:45people's salvation. And it always births from this
- 26:49moment. And here we can see the wind in
- 26:52the waves and they're trying to come over the boat.
- 26:56And what is Jesus's posture? He's asleep, friends.
- 27:03He's trusting in God Almighty. He knows the beginning from the
- 27:08end. He's the alpha and the Omega.
- 27:11He already knows what is to come.
- 27:14He already knows what he's going to do.
- 27:17And he is desirous to increase the faith of his disciples.
- 27:21And he does the same thing for you and he does the same thing
- 27:25for me. Friends, there's so many times
- 27:27the wind and the waves and the cares and the tares of this
- 27:30world are coming up and they feel like they're going to
- 27:33capsize us. The pressure is so much, but
- 27:36he's producing diamonds friends. He's unearthing the vein of
- 27:41gold, friends. He's producing the Pearl.
- 27:44Friends, in your life, it is desirous for you to increase
- 27:49your faith. Lift up that shield of faith
- 27:52today, friends. Increase it.
- 27:54Lift it up higher over your head, over your circumstances,
- 27:58over your emotions and feelings. Lift your shield of faith up
- 28:02higher, friends higher. It might be heavy, but lift it
- 28:06up even higher, friends, and extinguish the flaming darts of
- 28:12the enemy. He was asleep. 25 The disciples
- 28:16came to him, and they woke him, saying, Lord, save us, we
- 28:20perish. This is what it looks like when
- 28:29we cry out to the Lord and say, Save us, for we are perishing.
- 28:33And what does the Lord say to us?
- 28:36And he says to them, Why are you fearful of your little faith?
- 28:42And he arose and he rebuked the winds in the sea, and there was
- 28:44a great calm. Yes, he can do that.
- 28:48Yes, when we cry out to him, for sure He can calm everything
- 28:52around us. But He desires for us to walk in
- 28:56our bridal identity. He desires for us to know the
- 28:59power that we have from on high. He desires to know our sonship.
- 29:04He desires to know that we are called daughters and sons of the
- 29:08Most High King. He desires for us to have
- 29:10dominion over our households, dominion over this land,
- 29:15dominion over this nation, dominion over this globe.
- 29:20Friends, that is your calling today.
- 29:22He gives you the dominion and you need to walk in it and quit
- 29:26squandering it to the enemy. Quit looking at the lustful
- 29:29pleasures of the eyes. Quit making it all about mammon
- 29:32and money and position and power and follow after the Lord Jesus
- 29:37Christ and walk in your identity with the dominion.
- 29:42That is what He gives to you, Friends.
- 29:48Tap into the power source, Plug in friends and walk as someone
- 29:55who is more than a conqueror. You put your foot on the head of
- 30:02the serpent and you crush his head in the name of Jesus
- 30:07Christ. It is that name, Friends 27 And
- 30:11the men marveled, saying, What manner of man is this, that even
- 30:16the winds and the sea obey him? They hadn't quite figured it out
- 30:20yet. They have not the indwelling of
- 30:22the Holy Spirit, which you do, friend.
- 30:24You have the Holy Spirit if you're a born again, blood
- 30:27bought believer. They have yet to receive this on
- 30:33the day of Pentecost, and so they are still marveling and
- 30:39wondering at what manner of man is this.
- 30:42He is the Son of God. 28 And when he had come to the other
- 30:47side into the country of Garrett Jesanese, there met him too,
- 30:54possessed with devils coming out of the tombs exceeding fierce,
- 31:00so that no man might pass by that way.
- 31:03So here we're getting to see Jesus entering into the tombs
- 31:09he's entering in, and perhaps This is why he was asleep in the
- 31:12boat. He was getting ready for the
- 31:15battle, He was getting ready for what was about to happen.
- 31:20And here we're going to see how Jesus deals with the demoniacs.
- 31:2829 And behold, they cried out saying, what have we to do with
- 31:33the Son? Jesus, thou son of God, are you
- 31:37come here to torment us before the time?
- 31:40There's so many interesting points here, starting in verse
- 31:4428 and here you can see into the demonic.
- 31:49You can see how they're able to possess humanity.
- 31:54They're looking for vessels, they're able to possess beasts,
- 31:59they're able to go into the pigs here, and they're also
- 32:05referencing before the time. So there is coming a time where
- 32:09all of the demons will be dealt with.
- 32:12And here we are getting to see these devils coming out of
- 32:18tombs. We can see that they're
- 32:20exceedingly fierce. We can see that no one can pass
- 32:24by. We can see that they're crying
- 32:26out. They acknowledge Jesus as the
- 32:29Christ. They acknowledge him as the Son
- 32:32of God. And even their disciples missed
- 32:35it. But the demons do not miss it.
- 32:38They know who Jesus is. 30 And there was a good way off from
- 32:46them, a herd of many swine feeding. 31 And so the devils
- 32:50begged him, saying, If you cast us out, suffer us to go away
- 32:57into the herd of swine. 32 And he said unto them, Go.
- 33:01And when they were come out, they went into the herd of
- 33:05swine. And behold, the whole herd of
- 33:08swine ran violently down a steep place into the sea and perished
- 33:14in the waters. So you could see what the end
- 33:17goal for the demoniacs were, that they were there to steal,
- 33:22kill, and destroy. They were going to kill them
- 33:26just as they killed the pigs. And perhaps they went in and
- 33:31caused such a financial ruin for these farmers that they knew the
- 33:37demons knew that it would make Jesus look bad, and so the
- 33:41people would run him off. 33 And they, and they that kept them,
- 33:46fled, and went their way into the city, and told everything
- 33:50that was befallen to the possessed of the devils. 34 and
- 33:54will end here. And behold, the whole city came
- 33:57out to meet Jesus, and when they saw him, they begged him that he
- 34:00would depart out of their coasts.
- 34:03Imagine that Jesus does a wonderful work here in the tombs
- 34:12and because of the financial ruin of the farmers and they
- 34:16were afraid, they begged him to leave.
- 34:21Isn't that what we do? Jesus comes in and he heals
- 34:27somebody. Jesus comes in and he restores
- 34:31marriage. Jesus comes in and he makes a
- 34:35place safer. And what do we do?
- 34:37We turn and we say leave from here.
- 34:41We liked our little life prior. It's such a reference to how we
- 34:46are as humans. And when Jesus comes in, he
- 34:50changes everything and God is good.
- 34:54But just remember that people are so in love with evil that
- 34:59they refuse to love truth. And that is why he sends the
- 35:05powerful delusion. And these people were
- 35:07delusional. They were delusional to think
- 35:10that they needed to send Jesus away because he cast out the
- 35:17demons from these men in the tombs and their place was a lot
- 35:22safer. But because they served money
- 35:26and they served their finances, all they could relegate it all
- 35:30to was their loss of the swine, and they were afraid and they
- 35:35sent him away. And we do the same.
- 35:38I hope you've been blessed by this chapter here and Matthew.
- 35:42I know I sure have. I'm praying for every single one
- 35:44of you. I love you, so does God.
- 35:51We'll see you back here tomorrow.
- 35:53God bless you.
