- 0:11Hello friends, it's Sean here and yes, you've made it to the
- 0:15end of another week. It's Friday, it is the 2nd of
- 0:19August and hello great to have your company as we gather today.
- 0:25We have covered some territory this week, reading through the
- 0:28last chapters of John, and here we find ourselves ready to
- 0:33celebrate the end of the week with a sound.
- 0:36And this is also the last day that we're going to have this
- 0:38music. You know, it's been a couple of
- 0:39weeks of us each day frolicking through the flower laden feels
- 0:45with this music in the back. It feels like that, doesn't it?
- 0:48It's awesome. I have enjoyed it.
- 0:49I hope you have too. And next fortnight, who knows
- 0:52what the music's going to be. We will wait and find out
- 0:54together. Yes, we will.
- 0:56But today, today we continue as we have done for a while, and
- 1:00we'll continue for a while, heading up that hill as pilgrims
- 1:05heading toward Jerusalem, reading this Psalm, which is
- 1:09another song for pilgrims ascending to Jerusalem.
- 1:12Yes, another brief Psalm, only 5 verses in this one.
- 1:15And we will read them together. They will be wonderful.
- 1:20And then we will have the end of the week and a weekend ahead.
- 1:23So friends, I wish you well. Let us do this together, Read
- 1:27together Psalm 125. Those who trust in the Lord are
- 1:42as secure as Mount Zion. They will not be defeated, but
- 1:48will endure forever. Just as the mountains surround
- 1:53Jerusalem, so the Lord surrounds his people both now and forever.
- 2:01The wicked will not rule the land of the godly, for then the
- 2:05godly might be tempted to do wrong.
- 2:09O Lord, do good to those who are good, whose hearts are in tune
- 2:14with you, but banish those who turn to crooked ways.
- 2:18O Lord, take them away with those who do evil.
- 2:23May Israel have peace. Oh indeed, Lord, we pray for
- 2:39peace. We pray that your presence of
- 2:45peace and forgiveness and tolerance would change hearts
- 2:51throughout our world, our world that forever seems to be
- 2:55divided, that forever seems to contain war and heartbreak and
- 3:01hurt and pain and retribution. Lord, we pray as the psalmist
- 3:08does, that you would surround your people both now and
- 3:12forever, and that your presence would bring peace and all the
- 3:18evidence of your Kingdom, Your Kingdom where you rule supreme,
- 3:24not our human brokenness. So Lord, we cry out for you, for
- 3:30your Kingdom to come now as it is in heaven.
- 3:34And we pray all of this in that saving name of Jesus, Amen.
