- 0:02Hello, everyone. Welcome to Eye Opener Society. Welcome to the church portion.
- 0:07Welcome to our Thursday night sermons. And listen, these are not regular sermons.
- 0:14We're not getting all biblical. We're not getting all religiously.
- 0:17We're here to spread what we feel is going to be important moving forward and
- 0:25spreading whatever knowledge, wisdom, tips, tricks,
- 0:31or whatever it is that we have to you, the audience. Now, here's one thing.
- 0:38I put everything set up with this because we like to use Zoom as our way of
- 0:42getting people to join in.
- 0:44And I went through this whole series of, you know, Zoom learning and all.
- 0:49I got the link out there on all the socials. And of course, as you would know, the link did not work.
- 0:57So I sent the link out, at least on Facebook, because I can't go do recordings
- 1:02and all and put it on all the other socials.
- 1:04But I have the actual link now set up there. So we apologize If anybody does
- 1:11show up I welcome you And we're very happy that you're trying to join us These
- 1:17are the growing pains These are the technical difficulties That anybody goes
- 1:21through Whenever they're starting something new And Lizzie and I,
- 1:24we're extremely used to that We know that these things happen But we want you
- 1:30to be part of everything All the ups,
- 1:32all the downs, all the failures All the walls crumbling down All the technical
- 1:36difficulties It's nice to have everybody join in When these things happen To
- 1:42see that we're just a couple real people Trying to spread something Very real,
- 1:48something very new Something exciting So, these sermons are being recorded So
- 1:54you can get to, you know Pick them up afterwards whenever you like And hopefully,
- 1:59as we start doing this More and more consistently Every Thursday at 7pm Eastern Standard Time.
- 2:06We'll have everything worked out. And whenever we come on, you should be able
- 2:10to join us without any difficulty.
- 2:12So of course, the first night, it's going to be a mess.
- 2:16So we're here now, we're doing the recording anyway, and we're going to have a little bit of fun.
- 2:21So this is what I wanted to say. We've been spending a lot of time talking about
- 2:25the church. We're talking about what it is.
- 2:27We've been talking about setting it up and now it's here. So now we want to
- 2:33hear about exactly what it is and what we're doing.
- 2:36So I figured tonight we'll kind of do a little introduction to ourselves,
- 2:41our modalities, what Lizzie and I are trying to do.
- 2:45So I'm going to start off with just me.
- 2:48My number one most important modality, the one thing that I rely on 100% and
- 2:55one of my biggest teachings is meditation.
- 2:59I believe everyone should be meditating. I believe everyone should be meditating.
- 3:03I believe everybody says they want to meditate, but they can't.
- 3:06However, they can. I don't like the words, I cannot.
- 3:11Meditation is one of the easiest things to do. I've been doing it for so,
- 3:14so long. And I started very, very small.
- 3:18And it grew into something amazing to where I could go on these amazing trips
- 3:24in my mind just by sitting down for a couple minutes and just focusing. I can teach this.
- 3:29And I'm going to start teaching it.
- 3:32Most recently, I just got my Bachelor's of Science for Metaphysical Studies
- 3:36through the University of Sedona. I took an online course for that.
- 3:39I set that up just because everybody wants some sort of certification. I know how to meditate.
- 3:44I've been meditating for over 25 years. I don't need any kind of certification for that.
- 3:50However, I just wanted to give myself a little bit more knowledge because we can always learn.
- 3:56So one of the big things I was taught on there, there was a whole section on
- 4:00meditation. So not much new that I learned, but there were a few other things
- 4:04that I did learn about it. So yes, there's something to take away.
- 4:08There's something to take away from everything in life. And you don't have to
- 4:11get it just from Lizzie and I, because you, as the churchgoers,
- 4:15can bring stuff to Lizzie and I as well.
- 4:19We're open to every type of modality. We're open to every type of religion.
- 4:24We're open to every type of idea. Yeah.
- 4:28So you can bring yourself to us.
- 4:32We have no problems or no worries about other people's perceptions and ideas.
- 4:38Our church is very strict on harassment and bullying.
- 4:43We won't take any of that. So if you join us at any point, just remember,
- 4:47bring your true self, but make sure it's something that you could bring to the
- 4:52church in a kind, passionate kind of way.
- 4:57I also beyond meditation Even though it's all worked in To all the things I
- 5:04do Because I use it as a foundation As a baseline For everything I do I also.
- 5:11Teach woodlarking,
- 5:13the nature, the outdoors, to me, it resets the soul.
- 5:19So I'm passionate about that. I'm out every day now when I can,
- 5:23just to get outside the four walls, the confines of these modern constructs, what we consider homes.
- 5:30Our true homes are the earth, the seasons, the weather, the sun,
- 5:36the wind, all of this is part of us.
- 5:39It becomes a physical part of us when we're out there.
- 5:42We learn to survive, adapt, and control those environments.
- 5:47So that's something that I'm extremely passionate about as well.
- 5:52And these are teachings I'm going to be doing.
- 5:55And hopefully at some point, if you're in the Pennsylvania area,
- 5:59local to your county, I'm hoping to maybe find some groups where we can go out
- 6:03together, do some woodlocking together as a group.
- 6:06These are ideas I have for down, you know, down the line in the future,
- 6:11just little add-ons to the church.
- 6:15Now, spiritually, I'm connected in those two ways, with meditation and with the mother nature.
- 6:23The other thing I'm very passionate about too, as well, is just learning how
- 6:31to perceive things in a different way. And what do I mean by that?
- 6:36I've learned just through living every day, just like everybody else does.
- 6:40We live, we go through life and we all come across complications.
- 6:45We all break down at some point, but I believe we can always repair ourselves,
- 6:51bring ourselves back up.
- 6:52So motivation is huge for me. And I try that with everybody And I do it respectfully.
- 6:58However, I do say you have the power. I can only give you the motivation,
- 7:04but it is you, the individual, all of us.
- 7:07Only we have the power to adapt because we're the only ones who have the power
- 7:12to change our mindset and to say, I'm going to do this.
- 7:17You could sit in a bulk of depression your entire life if that's what you want.
- 7:23But here's the thing. You're always going to be depressed because of it.
- 7:27Until you learn to turn that switch and start a new perception of the way things
- 7:32are going for you, you'll always be stuck in that one type of emotion all the time.
- 7:41We're human beings. We're going to feel all types of emotions,
- 7:45but we can't get stuck in just one.
- 7:47So that's something that I like to motivate people out of, to learn to think
- 7:51and start acting differently because once we perceive our perception of what
- 7:56life is, everything changes.
- 7:58And I can say this because it worked for me. This is what I practice every day.
- 8:04Whenever something goes wrong, whenever something gets me down,
- 8:07I learn to visualize something different and I move forward with that better perspective of it.
- 8:15This is something I would like to teach as well.
- 8:19A church doesn't have to be religion. I was raised Catholic.
- 8:28So you could come to me with all the Catholic stuff. I know what it's about.
- 8:32I've been involved in it a very, very long time.
- 8:36I, when I stepped away from Catholicism and I was just on my own finding my
- 8:42way, I went through a lot of different religions.
- 8:45I went through a lot of different philosophies and paganism is what fit me.
- 8:52So if I was to categorize myself under anything, it's pagan.
- 8:57That's how I've been living because it connects with the outdoors,
- 9:02mother nature. I keep that simple.
- 9:05I also like the philosophy and I incorporate the philosophy of hermetic principles as well.
- 9:14So those are the two things I can work with, paganism and hermeticism.
- 9:20I can get into any religion. I don't care. I love studying it because I found
- 9:25there's so many different similarities.
- 9:27However, my teachings are just spiritual because we could practice any one religion,
- 9:32but I find it so indoctrinating and it's do this, do that, do this.
- 9:36I want what's best for the individual and what works best for you.
- 9:40That's a spiritual path. That's what I like to promote. That's why I like to
- 9:45motivate you for. And with me.
- 9:49Lizzie will tell you, the one thing I focus on, simplicity.
- 9:54I keep everything extremely simple. I don't overcomplicate it.
- 9:59I've noticed too in the whole metaphysical community, there's a lot of gatekeeping and do this, do that.
- 10:06Well, that's exactly why I moved away from religion. I didn't want to come into
- 10:09the metaphysics having that same type of indoctrination either.
- 10:13This is why I keep it simple.
- 10:15I could give suggestions. You take those suggestions. You do what you like with
- 10:20them Because you are your own individual And what you do works best for you,
- 10:27So if you take all that What I just said, that's me As founder of this church
- 10:32And any teachings Or if anybody comes to me That wants to learn something Or, you know, get guidance.
- 10:40If any of those things That I just spoke about Resonate with you You can reach
- 10:45out to me and I could help you through them,
- 10:48and we can get, you know, get together sometimes even as a community and other
- 10:53people may be able to help you within this community as well.
- 10:56So that's me. That's my background.
- 10:59I told you this wasn't going to be all fire and brimstone. This is just simple, fun stuff.
- 11:05So I would like to turn it over now to our co-founder, Lizzie,
- 11:10who I know will share some more beautiful stuff. so Lizzie, the floor is all yours.
- 11:17Okay, I'm just so excited to get this started today.
- 11:20We've been talking about this for so long, and I'm also really excited for it
- 11:25in the future when it's a little bit, when we've got the ability to have different
- 11:30people come in. So it's a little bit, okay.
- 11:35I told you I was having problems putting my words together. That's funny.
- 11:42The reason that I want to do this, the reason I find it so important is because
- 11:48I've been a part of the spiritual community essentially my whole life.
- 11:53And the common thread amongst everybody is that it's freaking lonely.
- 11:58When you like wake up to certain levels of awareness
- 12:02in your own patterns it's hard to be
- 12:05around people when you can witness their pattern
- 12:08and the thing is is at least in the information that I've been able to see you
- 12:16know TikTok people's books things like that and again I do like to rely on the
- 12:21free information and people do gatekeep so maybe I'm just kind of keeping out of it.
- 12:25But the thing is, is a lot of times it seems like all the information stops there.
- 12:31You know, you be the change you want to see in the world, you be that change.
- 12:36And then it's like people are mad that the rest of the world hasn't caught up yet.
- 12:40But I also find that a lot of people.
- 12:43Push everybody else away. People who they don't think are loving enough or,
- 12:48you know, oh, they're stuck in old fear loops or, and everybody just kind of
- 12:53is pushing everybody away.
- 12:55And I think the world is in this place where everybody's kind of just starved for connection.
- 12:59And I think the first thing that people have to do in this phase is to acknowledge
- 13:04the fact that each person has their own truth.
- 13:08Kind of like how you were saying, Gary, how like each person has the power and
- 13:12they can do whatever they want with it.
- 13:15And I also believe that you have all of the answers to anything you want to do.
- 13:21But I think the system that we
- 13:25were all raised in taught us to put that authority outside of ourselves,
- 13:30whether it's in the churches you grew up in, the public schooling,
- 13:36even like parents, you know, you just are supposed to listen to your parents, right?
- 13:41They're just so wise, but we all grow into a phase of life where we're like,
- 13:45actually, they didn't know everything.
- 13:48You know, we do circle back to where we realize sometimes they were smarter
- 13:51than we wanted to give them credit for as a teenager.
- 13:55But the thing is, is I watch people and everybody has this desire to grow and
- 14:02everybody has this desire to figure something out, but I don't think anybody
- 14:07knows necessarily what that is.
- 14:09And it's because our system has been teaching us to look outside of ourselves.
- 14:14And really, if all the answers are inside of you, then that's the point, right?
- 14:21And so that's what a lot of the spiritual community has been teaching for a while.
- 14:26But at some point, when you've got your truth inside, like, what do you do with it? Here, hold,
- 14:34I've had a crackly voice for a few days. I don't know if it's the season, I think.
- 14:41The thing is...
- 14:44When you live your own truth, beautiful things happen.
- 14:48You have much more, I'm going to say, control over your emotions,
- 14:52your thought process, what kinds of things happen in your life.
- 14:55But it does seem to be very isolating for people.
- 14:59And it's always this new look for a new meditation or a new affirmation or a
- 15:06new technique that's going to solve the exact perfect problem.
- 15:10But the thing is, is I think we're just supposed to come together and expose
- 15:15each other to each other's truth.
- 15:17And so what I think is really important here is that we, man,
- 15:21I cannot believe I was talking just fine right before we got on this recording.
- 15:29Hold on, I got to get a drink of water. Okay, I'll take it over from here, no worries.
- 15:34See, and this is what being live is all about. We never, even on our regular
- 15:39show, edit anything out.
- 15:41We just go with the flow of things.
- 15:45And what's also great, I'm sitting here and just listening, as much as I speak
- 15:49to Lizzie and I've been hearing about her ideas and all, every time she speaks
- 15:53and says something, I learned something else about her.
- 15:55And that too, I think is what she's trying to say.
- 15:58We learn so much from each other. And especially as a community,
- 16:02we need to be exposed to that a lot more.
- 16:06So yes, we do learn from each other And we can share ideas, thoughts,
- 16:13ideologies But they don't need to be forced upon anybody,
- 16:18We can absorb this And as long as we're able to do it ourselves Then we should be good with it,
- 16:25So Lizzie is back now And she should be ready to go I was just telling them
- 16:30that we are raw and unedited So this is what lives are all about So go ahead
- 16:34and continue if you're ready.
- 16:37Hey, you're muted,
- 16:40This is exactly what I talk about. The thing is, is no matter how much you plot
- 16:47and plan things, things will just freaking happen.
- 16:51Gary, you spent so much time figuring out how to do this Zoom link that it's
- 16:56actually illogical that it didn't work out the way that it should have.
- 17:00Because you did all of your due diligence, right? Right.
- 17:03And that's the thing that I was talking about before is we're taught that if
- 17:07you do your due diligence, if you follow the system, graduate high school,
- 17:12go to college, get married, do all the things, life is going to be beautiful.
- 17:17But the thing is, is for a lot of us, we find that it's not.
- 17:20We feel suffocated. We feel stifled.
- 17:24And a lot of this comes with the awareness that we have in this world.
- 17:28I like to do a lot of research on different people's perspectives,
- 17:31was looking at old Gnostic religions.
- 17:35The last couple of days I went back in and I've been looking at people's perspectives of just,
- 17:41I think they're AI actually, but it's just written about like history of what
- 17:46it was like to be like a midwife in 1600 Japan.
- 17:51You know what I mean? And so they're just like, they're fun.
- 17:54And the thing is, is we've always kind of lived in this weird world where all
- 18:00the authority was outside of ourselves.
- 18:02And I think a lot of the reason people got away with that, you know,
- 18:06I say people as if, you know, people are, you know, conspiring against us or something.
- 18:11The reason it was built that way is because we didn't have the information or
- 18:16awareness you know we talk about a lot now about how the grass is always greener on the other side,
- 18:23and that's a quote talking about how like you've got
- 18:25good things where you're at but there was a point in
- 18:28time which like you didn't even know there was other grass you
- 18:32know what i mean you were raised into a religion or
- 18:36not and that was just like what you were exposed to but now we live in this
- 18:41world where you can pop online and see 40 different people's perspectives on
- 18:46religion in just a matter of minutes you know we get to figure out slowly how
- 18:51to build this online church we get to share ideas and all of this.
- 18:56I think that I'd spent the last couple of years completely fighting all systems,
- 19:02which is really funny to now be a part of starting a church,
- 19:05which you would think is a system.
- 19:09But I don't think that we actually fully understood what that was because we've
- 19:15been looking outside of ourselves and wrapping it all in the shame of,
- 19:18you know, the way we're inherently flawed as humans.
- 19:22I thought that for a really long time.
- 19:25That just made sense to me. I'm like, yeah, look around. We're stupid.
- 19:29Inherently flawed. We have some work to do.
- 19:34But the thing is, when you really look at it, everybody's always just been doing
- 19:38the best they can with what they have.
- 19:42This is such a beautiful time to be alive because we can build this community
- 19:46of people who are all exploring their own truths.
- 19:49We all get to come in and teach what we know and build off of each other.
- 19:54And we get to see all of the different shades of green grasses everywhere.
- 20:02That's beautiful, Lizzie. I really appreciate it. And when you had gotten up
- 20:06there for a moment, I had told everybody that every time I listen to you, and we talk a lot,
- 20:13I mean, unfortunately, the past couple of days, we haven't really been connecting
- 20:16as much, but every time I hear something of you, I'm learning something new
- 20:20either about you or one of your ideas.
- 20:25And that fits in perfectly with the whole church and what we're trying to do.
- 20:30That's what community is about. It's about learning about each other,
- 20:33finding new ideas, new thoughts, and then applying them to us and what it means to us.
- 20:41So yeah, I always love listening to you. You know that.
- 20:47I am going to be working again and doing more of my due diligence with this
- 20:52Zoom because yeah, it is funny that I really, I've done so much behind the scenes with this.
- 20:59And of course it just didn't work. So maybe I'm not going to do as much next
- 21:03time, do less and it'll probably work better.
- 21:06So that's my idea. That's my thought. That's what I'm going to do.
- 21:09So hopefully next Thursday when we come back on, we'll have more,
- 21:13you know, to talk about more to preach and we should be able to get more people in here.
- 21:19Um, but again, to those that are listening to the recording and you try to get
- 21:23in, we do apologize severely because I did. I got the,
- 21:27you know, meeting link up to all the social medias. And I just thought,
- 21:31Hey, everybody's going to join us, but it did not happen unless at least we got one person in here.
- 21:36Um, and I thank Ann for actually bringing up the fact, the only person who brought
- 21:40up the fact that that link did not work.
- 21:42And if it wasn't for her, I would not have known that.
- 21:45So I do appreciate Ann Lund from Haunted and Waiting, who we love so dearly around here.
- 21:52Um, and, uh, she also has recently, She put up an episode So definitely go to
- 21:58EyeOpenerSociety.popbean.com And definitely check out,
- 22:04Her episode Actually the latest one And it's been doing really well And we've
- 22:10been doing really well too And we're not.
- 22:14Because we have this church We're not giving up on our regular Monday episodes
- 22:18We have a few great ones And as a matter of fact The next episode coming up
- 22:23Brittany interviewed Lizzie and I about the church.
- 22:25So that all ties in. Uh, we have another great guest that's going to be coming on.
- 22:31We're going to be talking to her next week. Uh, heavenly halos,
- 22:35uh, another fantastic soul that I happen to find on Tik TOK.
- 22:40Um, as we all know, I found Lizzie on Tik TOK and that was the best find I ever had in my entire life.
- 22:47Somebody who's actually supporting me and behind me and
- 22:50just building this whole community together with me
- 22:53i love you so much lizzie for that um and so yeah i found another beautiful
- 22:59soul who's got some really great uh stuff too great content heavenly halos so
- 23:06it's h-e-a-v-e-n-l-i-h-a-l.
- 23:11OS, I believe it's, but I I'm pretty sure, but I'll definitely have a link up at some point.
- 23:17And when she comes on, I'll definitely have more promotion for it too, as well.
- 23:22So everybody, again, thank you for tuning into us.
- 23:26Thank you for this, you know, the time that you spend with us.
- 23:29And again, don't forget every Thursday, you know, 7 PM Eastern standard time,
- 23:35find us and hopefully I'll have the correct link up again.
- 23:38And like I said, consistency is key. We'll keep doing this and it'll start growing
- 23:43and it'll start getting a lot better.
- 23:45And I think the next one, we're going to start talking about the other foundations
- 23:49that we're going to be building with this church too, as well.
- 23:52So join us and we appreciate you tuning in. Lizzie, thank you again so much for joining us.
