Today’s Gospel features the Parable of the Good Samaritan.

Fr. Jose Medina reflects on how tragedies can awaken the Good Samaritan within us. After horrors like 9/11 or the Boston Marathon Bombing, we were awakened from the complacency of everyday life and refused to surrender to evil. We discovered our true selves. In the face of senseless violence, we chose compassion. We didn’t need to be told to be human. We rediscovered an urgency to answer evil with love.
