- 1:03Speaker 1: are gonna come on and they're gonna tell us what
- 1:06Speaker 1: this book to them, Why did they come, why did
- 1:10Speaker 1: they decide to work on this book. And also they're
- 1:14Speaker 1: gonna give you a little bit of an inspiration on
- 1:17Speaker 1: how you can continue to go through even with the
- 1:21Speaker 1: world that we have nowadays. So it is my honor
- 1:24Speaker 1: to bring up these authors. We have author Micheline Moss,
- 1:33Speaker 1: we have author Angela Thomas Smith, we have author Laschelle Grain,
- 1:39Speaker 1: and we have one more author that's going to be
- 1:41Speaker 1: coming up for Landa Pyle. So we're gonna go ahead
- 1:46Speaker 1: and bring up some and we're gonna add on others
- 1:48Speaker 1: as they come in. Hello, ladies, how are you well?
- 1:55Speaker 1: Thank you? It is great to have you guys on
- 2:03Speaker 1: with me tonight. It looks like you have somebody else
- 2:06Speaker 1: coming in in a moment.
- 2:07Speaker 2: Join them in.
- 2:09Speaker 1: But tell me a little bit about yourself.
- 2:16Speaker 3: Well, my name is Micheline Moss. Everybody calls me miss Missy.
- 2:23Speaker 3: I grew up in New Jersey. I now reside in Memphis, Tennessee.
- 2:30Speaker 3: I'm a wife, mom, grandmother, so I spent a lot
- 2:35Speaker 3: of my time, you know, with my family. As far
- 2:41Speaker 3: as how I started my writing journey, it was as
- 2:47Speaker 3: just a little girl loving to go to the library
- 2:51Speaker 3: reading books I have. I've spoke on this before a
- 2:56Speaker 3: brother who really wanted a younger siblings to read and
- 3:03Speaker 3: he would take me to Harlem in different places. And
- 3:07Speaker 3: that's where my love of books became, you know, something
- 3:11Speaker 3: that was like deep inside of me. And so I
- 3:16Speaker 3: always wrote poetry and journaled a lot, and when this
- 3:21Speaker 3: opportunity for me to finally put it on paper, which
- 3:26Speaker 3: my first book was called Wake Up Girlfriend. And so
- 3:32Speaker 3: it was a collaboration, and so I just stepped out
- 3:35Speaker 3: on faith, and then I met other authors and public publishers,
- 3:42Speaker 3: especially with Queen Angela. She's awesome and she's been, you know,
- 3:49Speaker 3: a pillar in the things that I have done and
- 3:52Speaker 3: I wrote. So that's basically, you know, where the love
- 3:57Speaker 3: of books came from, and just wanting to write and
- 4:02Speaker 3: get your thoughts on the page.
- 4:05Speaker 1: Awesome, okay. And another author of this book, we have
- 4:09Speaker 1: the Queen of collaborations herself, missus Angelo Thomas Smith. Tell
- 4:15Speaker 1: us a little bit about yourself. So can you hear me?
- 4:19Speaker 1: I can hear you? Okay.
- 4:22Speaker 2: So wow.
- 4:26Speaker 1: I've been writing since I think two thousand and sixteen.
- 4:31Speaker 1: I have published over one hundred and I think I
- 4:44Speaker 1: want to say it has to be over one hundred
- 4:46Speaker 1: and ten one hundred and fifteen books. But unfortunately the
- 4:51Speaker 1: computer is kicking everybody out the night. And you know
- 4:54Speaker 1: why I feel this computer is doing this, you guys,
- 4:56Speaker 1: because I think there is something I don't think. I
- 4:59Speaker 1: know there's some thing on this show that one of
- 5:03Speaker 1: these ladies is going to say that we all need.
- 5:06Speaker 1: So of course they're gonna be those technical difficulties that's
- 5:10Speaker 1: gonna try to make us quit, but you don't know.
- 5:15Speaker 1: I don't quit. I might its silent for a minnutte,
- 5:19Speaker 1: but I don't quit. So Queen, we see you moving,
- 5:24Speaker 1: but we can't hear you. So why are we working
- 5:26Speaker 1: on your volume. I'm gonna bring up miss Le grand
- 5:31Speaker 1: Can you hear us?
- 5:43Speaker 2: I'll take them a trout on this phone.
- 5:46Speaker 1: Miss Cherl, we can hear you, baby. M h mm hmm.
- 5:56Speaker 2: M m.
- 6:04Speaker 1: All right. So while we waiting for her to get back,
- 6:10Speaker 1: Ms Moss, tell us a little bit about your section
- 6:15Speaker 1: in this book. What what was? How did you contribute
- 6:20Speaker 1: to the book?
- 6:24Speaker 3: I contributed by writing about hope, forgiveness, overcoming pain. So
- 6:36Speaker 3: I feel like in any relationship, whether it's you know,
- 6:40Speaker 3: with a significant other, or it could be a sibling,
- 6:44Speaker 3: your parent, you know, sometimes you don't always see eye
- 6:49Speaker 3: to eye, or certain things may have hurt you in
- 6:52Speaker 3: that relationship. So I think we all go through that.
- 6:56Speaker 3: So another thing is I've been working on and forgiveness
- 7:02Speaker 3: and can heal if you don't forgive. So it was
- 7:07Speaker 3: just a lot of things that I just kept inside of.
- 7:11Speaker 3: Things you know that you know happen, hurtful, painful situations.
- 7:19Speaker 3: So I just decided to put it on paper and
- 7:23Speaker 3: to just get it off my chest and forgive those
- 7:27Speaker 3: that trespassed against me, you know. So I just want
- 7:31Speaker 3: people to know that whatever your situation is, you know,
- 7:36Speaker 3: first of all, trust in the Lord.
- 7:38Speaker 1: He's always going to see you.
- 7:40Speaker 3: Through His timing and your timing is totally different. But
- 7:46Speaker 3: if you just hope and forgive and have faith over fear,
- 7:51Speaker 3: it'll carry you through. So I just basically wrote about that,
- 7:56Speaker 3: hoping to encourage someone and to also let you, you know,
- 8:02Speaker 3: know you're not alone, because sometimes we feel like we're
- 8:05Speaker 3: the only one, you know, carrying that burden, and then
- 8:09Speaker 3: someone speaks what you was thinking or feeling, and so
- 8:15Speaker 3: it's just like, hey, you know, I said.
- 8:18Speaker 2: It for you, you.
- 8:19Speaker 3: Know, and if it's a blueprint to help you heal,
- 8:23Speaker 3: then you know, I pray that that happens for someone.
- 8:28Speaker 1: And you know what, what do you consider as the
- 8:33Speaker 1: blueprint to help you feel well?
- 8:35Speaker 3: When I was younger, I employs told that you know
- 8:40Speaker 3: that same brother, you know, someone's telling you something that's
- 8:45Speaker 3: it sounds half right or you know, maybe you should
- 8:48Speaker 3: believe it. Also, the saying other people a wise man
- 8:56Speaker 3: learns off of someone else's mistakes and a full learns
- 9:01Speaker 3: off of his own. So I've say blueprint to say
- 9:05Speaker 3: if someone is telling you something, then you know it
- 9:09Speaker 3: may resignate with you or you know that like, well, hey,
- 9:13Speaker 3: you know, I'd rather learn. I want to trust you,
- 9:15Speaker 3: I want to believe you and learn off of your mistakes.
- 9:19Speaker 3: And so you have a blueprint of what not to
- 9:22Speaker 3: do and what to do.
- 10:18Speaker 1: To work on their mics because some reason we can't
- 10:20Speaker 1: hear them. Let me ask you. Another question was mas, So,
- 10:28Speaker 1: how is how is your journey to excuse me?
- 10:40Speaker 3: Well, actually it's a new journey because I was a
- 10:44Speaker 3: person that like really helped grudges and it was like,
- 10:49Speaker 3: you know, I'm good, I'm done. You know, I don't
- 10:52Speaker 3: want to revisit that, but just some more that I
- 10:57Speaker 3: you know, put my head in the world and really understand, understood,
- 11:03Speaker 3: excuse me of what I should have been doing. So
- 11:06Speaker 3: it's basically I've called people syn the text, you know, something,
- 11:13Speaker 3: a set, a kind word to let them know that
- 11:16Speaker 3: I'm good because I know that that we're good, because
- 11:21Speaker 3: I know that they weren't losing sleep over me, you
- 11:25Speaker 3: know in the years that I did. So I'm just
- 11:28Speaker 3: trying to you know, love thy neighbor, think positive thoughts,
- 11:34Speaker 3: you know, do what I'm supposed to do, and just
- 11:37Speaker 3: trying to move on. And it has like, uh, it's
- 11:42Speaker 3: like a weight is off my back. I feel better
- 11:45Speaker 3: inside than I was feeling, you know, months ago. So
- 11:50Speaker 3: I'm just taking one step at a time. You know,
- 11:53Speaker 3: God's not through with me yet.
- 11:57Speaker 1: I know that one idea God's not through me because
- 12:00Speaker 1: I have a tendency is one of those things I
- 12:03Speaker 1: have to work on too. And I'm admit I got
- 12:07Speaker 1: it bad. I got a real bad and that's one
- 12:14Speaker 1: of the things I have to work on because I
- 12:16Speaker 1: will clam up going myself and say go on, Michelle
- 12:20Speaker 1: and say I'm okay, knowing good and well that it
- 12:23Speaker 1: is hurt, it is pain, But in some cases I
- 12:28Speaker 1: don't feel that that hurt and pain is worthy to
- 12:30Speaker 1: come out. And in some cases I'm like, all right, cool,
- 12:33Speaker 1: I just can't deal with it right now. But I'm
- 12:36Speaker 1: on that journey with you. It seems like we have
- 12:39Speaker 1: miss Cheryl la grand mis Cheryl. How are you? Michelle? Hey, Michelle,
- 12:55Speaker 1: we can see baby all right, well until we get
- 13:05Speaker 1: miss Eryl up in here and goody we're going to
- 13:09Speaker 1: bring up missus Kyle. Hi, Hi, miss Kyle. I'm good.
- 13:17Speaker 4: I'm good.
- 13:22Speaker 5: Well.
- 13:24Speaker 4: I'm a social worker by trade. I work with the
- 13:28Speaker 4: elderly and the aging. My specialty over the years has
- 13:33Speaker 4: been working with grandparents raising grandchildren. I love writing, and
- 13:38Speaker 4: especially poems. I've also wrote written a children's book and
- 13:44Speaker 4: devotional I live in New York City. I love a
- 13:52Speaker 4: lot of the action. I love like going to plays,
- 13:55Speaker 4: to games and things like that. That's that's a general overview.
- 14:03Speaker 4: I went to see Mulin Rouge two weeks ago because
- 14:07Speaker 4: I wanted to see Wayne Brady and Tate Diggs, so
- 14:11Speaker 4: I went to see the Minute. Yeah, they're both in
- 14:17Speaker 4: it for short a short run. So yeah, yeah. I
- 14:23Speaker 4: saw Hamilton years but years ago. I haven't seen it up.
- 14:26Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 14:29Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 14:40Speaker 4: My part is about I submitted three poems that's in it,
- 14:44Speaker 4: and it was about sickness because for years I was
- 14:47Speaker 4: dealing with sickness and illness and a lot of times
- 14:50Speaker 4: people don't like to talk about that, or you know,
- 14:54Speaker 4: they don't think you should talk about it, and so,
- 14:56Speaker 4: but a lot of people are dealing with it, and
- 14:58Speaker 4: you know, it's often hard, and for me it was hard,
- 15:01Speaker 4: not only because I was dealing with it, but because
- 15:03Speaker 4: at first the doctors and they couldn't really diagnose.
- 15:06Speaker 2: What was wrong.
- 15:07Speaker 4: So it was a whole, you know, a whole long process,
- 15:12Speaker 4: and so I wanted to write about and during that time,
- 15:16Speaker 4: I started, you know, journaling and writing about it, and
- 15:19Speaker 4: so I wanted to just put it all together because
- 15:21Speaker 4: I'm sure that there's someone you know in the world's
- 15:24Speaker 4: who's dealing with the same thing. I would like to
- 15:39Speaker 4: say that it's not easy, and I know that sometimes
- 15:42Speaker 4: you may feel alone and that no one understands, and
- 15:46Speaker 4: you know, also wonder why am I going through this
- 15:48Speaker 4: when there's other people who's going through not going through anything.
- 15:52Speaker 4: But one of my favorite scriptures is rom Was eight
- 15:54Speaker 4: twenty eight, which first to when God says all things
- 15:58Speaker 4: work together for good to also loved the Lord and
- 16:00Speaker 4: those who called according to his purpose. And I've learned
- 16:04Speaker 4: over the years through my sickness and illnesses and also
- 16:06Speaker 4: my life story that he didn't say that all things
- 16:10Speaker 4: are good, but he said that all things.
- 16:13Speaker 6: Are going to work together for good.
- 16:14Speaker 4: So whatever you're going through at this moment, you know,
- 16:17Speaker 4: trust God that He's going to bring you through it
- 16:19Speaker 4: and that it's.
- 16:19Speaker 6: Going to work together for your good.
- 16:34Speaker 5: Thomas Smith, Hello, people, that this deals with a lot
- 17:27Speaker 5: of different issues that people are going through.
- 17:30Speaker 4: And I think that someone who's hurting, or someone who's
- 17:34Speaker 4: going through something, or someone who hasn't overcome something, they
- 17:37Speaker 4: might not be going through it now, but it's still,
- 17:39Speaker 4: you know, how some things linger with us that this
- 17:42Speaker 4: book would help them because it deals with different issues.
- 17:45Speaker 4: And I think it's for people who are going through
- 17:48Speaker 4: something or have going through something that they still need
- 17:50Speaker 4: healing from, which we all do.
- 17:54Speaker 3: Yeah, I would say like basically, if you're a human,
- 18:01Speaker 3: you know, and you went through went through things, it's
- 18:05Speaker 3: just that some of us, you know, don't choose to
- 18:08Speaker 3: talk about it. But like, whoever you are, it's gonna
- 18:13Speaker 3: bring You're gonna be able to relate to it. It
- 18:16Speaker 3: is gonna bring healing your life. And I wanted to
- 18:18Speaker 3: say one day when you guys were talking about plays,
- 18:23Speaker 3: I went to see these play and good play, seeing that.
- 18:35Speaker 1: I would love for us to have place come down
- 18:38Speaker 1: here to Charleston. When they come, they always come on
- 18:41Speaker 1: Wednesday nights. I have to work. The only player I
- 18:45Speaker 1: have seen in Charleston was Porky and Best and it
- 18:52Speaker 1: was another one. It was a homegrown one that was
- 18:56Speaker 1: down here in Charleston. But other than that, I mean,
- 18:58Speaker 1: we have all these these places that come. We had
- 19:02Speaker 1: Michael Jackson, we had Hamilton, but I didn't want to
- 19:06Speaker 1: see them people. I'm going to see the real people
- 19:09Speaker 1: I want to see. I don't know, y'all. I mean men,
- 19:13Speaker 1: whatever his name is, I need no Davy, Dabby, his
- 19:18Speaker 1: cute self. I need to see him. So, but I
- 19:25Speaker 1: do say I'm gonna go see more. I ask you guys,
- 19:29Speaker 1: you ladies, this question before we came on, and you guys,
- 19:36Speaker 1: this question is for me, and it might be questions
- 19:39Speaker 1: that you guys have. How can your book help us
- 19:45Speaker 1: in the times that we are in right now? Because
- 19:49Speaker 1: my anxiety level is like crazy through the roof. It's
- 19:53Speaker 1: it's mad ridiculous. And I know everybody's saying, samcoc Is
- 20:00Speaker 1: is going to come. But how can your book guide
- 20:06Speaker 1: me into the peace that God has for me?
- 20:15Speaker 3: I would say that you know, first of all, depression
- 20:20Speaker 3: is real, and you don't you don't want to go
- 20:23Speaker 3: down that dark hole. So if if you read our
- 20:28Speaker 3: book and see where we're coming from, it may give
- 20:33Speaker 3: you an answer. It might let the light bulb, you know,
- 20:37Speaker 3: go off, and you know we're all going to go
- 20:41Speaker 3: through things because all throughout the Bible, you know, it
- 20:45Speaker 3: was sibling rivalry and wise and husbands and wives and
- 20:51Speaker 3: babies and daughters and fathers, you know, going on. So
- 20:57Speaker 3: you know that was a real story back then and
- 21:00Speaker 3: it's still going on now. But if you know, for
- 21:04Speaker 3: me too, it's like I just want peace, you know,
- 21:08Speaker 3: like how can I get to peace? So read something
- 21:13Speaker 3: or you know, have a conversation with somebody that you
- 21:17Speaker 3: know says, well, hey, you know this is what went
- 21:19Speaker 3: on in my life, and you know I'm here for you.
- 21:24Speaker 3: I can relate to you. I understand what you're going through.
- 21:28Speaker 3: Then you know that may help us to live another day.
- 21:32Speaker 3: So with the world being how it is, it's just
- 21:36Speaker 3: that you have to have hope and really faith and
- 21:42Speaker 3: stay grayed up. So we just we said, this is
- 21:47Speaker 3: what went on with us, and if we could be
- 21:49Speaker 3: a vessel, you know, in any kind of way, or
- 21:53Speaker 3: if your cup is empty, maybe reading this we can
- 21:57Speaker 3: pour back into you.
- 22:00Speaker 1: Awesome. I agree.
- 22:02Speaker 4: I also think, like I think that it's always hopeful
- 22:07Speaker 4: to know that other people have gone through something and overcome,
- 22:10Speaker 4: overcame it, and it's good to know, you know, the
- 22:14Speaker 4: different stories, the different situations, because it always can give
- 22:18Speaker 4: you hope that you know somebody has overcome something worse
- 22:22Speaker 4: than what I've been through or at the same level,
- 22:25Speaker 4: and I can overcome it too. And so in these times,
- 22:28Speaker 4: I think we need stories of hope, we need stories
- 22:31Speaker 4: of overcoming. So I think this book is an excellent
- 22:35Speaker 4: book for these especially for these times.
- 22:52Speaker 2: Okay, M.
- 23:19Speaker 3: So, is this somebody that, like if you had a
- 23:21Speaker 3: choice and they're not here anymore or they have.
- 23:25Speaker 2: To be here.
- 23:40Speaker 4: If it's a gospel artist, for me, a female gospel artist,
- 23:43Speaker 4: I would say CC Whinings, And it's just because I'll
- 23:48Speaker 4: just always find her so soothing and something about her
- 23:52Speaker 4: always like resonates with me.
- 23:54Speaker 6: So I would say CC.
- 23:58Speaker 3: I guess I would say Yolanda Adams, you know, because
- 24:02Speaker 3: she has like a really beautiful voice, soothing, a soothing
- 24:09Speaker 3: kind of voice.
- 24:10Speaker 2: So I would think, well.
- 24:45Speaker 4: I definitely would say Angela Bassett, And I just feel
- 24:48Speaker 4: like she can act and play any part, so I
- 24:52Speaker 4: feel like she could just read it and she would
- 24:54Speaker 4: know what to do. So I would say Angela Bastad
- 24:57Speaker 4: for me.
- 25:00Speaker 3: Mhm, okay, sorry, I would say uh to Rogie p
- 25:12Speaker 3: Henson because she's sassy and classy.
- 25:17Speaker 2: I like that, nasty and classic. H mm hmm mm
- 25:38Speaker 2: hm mm hmm.
- 25:55Speaker 1: This has been all m phenomenal. You have so many
- 26:02Speaker 1: people tuning in to your movie that now we want
- 26:06Speaker 1: to do a movie about you. Who would you give
- 26:11Speaker 1: the honor of plane you in a movie about you?
- 26:16Speaker 1: And why did you choose this person? Now, this can
- 26:24Speaker 1: be anyone.
- 26:26Speaker 2: Okay.
- 26:30Speaker 3: Hmm, so from young to old or this.
- 26:35Speaker 1: Age you know what, that's a great You can tell
- 26:41Speaker 1: me which age and why did you choose? I'll let
- 26:44Speaker 1: that be whatever you would like.
- 26:48Speaker 3: Okay, probably the younger may I might pick like Jada Pinkett,
- 26:56Speaker 3: you know. Older I would like Felicia Rashard.
- 27:01Speaker 6: Oh oh wow, that's good.
- 27:05Speaker 1: That lady is so graceful, graceful, but I would be
- 27:11Speaker 1: scared to have her as my mom, and I think
- 27:14Speaker 1: things that person and Ms Powell, who would you choose?
- 27:20Speaker 2: Wow?
- 27:23Speaker 4: I think for the younger me, I would choose one
- 27:25Speaker 4: of my nieces because she's actually she's getting it, she's
- 27:28Speaker 4: interacting and I think she would know, you know, my
- 27:31Speaker 4: storyline and she could really play it well. The oh three,
- 27:38Speaker 4: I don't know. That's a hard one for me. I
- 27:43Speaker 4: don't really know.
- 27:46Speaker 1: It is okay, it's okay. The Lifetime say, hey, you
- 27:51Speaker 1: gotta be ready because they gonna choose you'all wants to
- 27:53Speaker 1: read this book. No, right, Well, we're coming to a close,
- 27:59Speaker 1: and before we in doubt, please tell our followers how
- 28:03Speaker 1: they can follow you, how they can get your books,
- 28:09Speaker 1: how they can just be in touch with you as
- 28:11Speaker 1: the author that you are.
- 28:15Speaker 3: You can follow me on social media Michelin Moss. The
