- 0:00Happy Monday.
- 0:02I was reflecting on these Monday moments today, and I honestly couldn't remember whether I'd ever shared why I started them.
- 0:10When I first launched this podcast, I only had the Thursday episodes, but as I started to pay attention to my own behavior, particularly when I first wake up in the morning, I notice that I often reach for something to listen to, something that can help me overcome that initial inertia I feel.
- 0:30And quite often, there's a bit of anxiety in there too.
- 0:34I tend to reach for uplifting messages.
- 0:37I reach for podcasts where I feel like I have a relationship with the host even though I've never actually met them.
- 0:44Sometimes I just wanna hear a familiar voice saying something that shifts where my mind wants to go first thing in the morning And I thought,"Wouldn't it be nice to share my own little version of that with the world?" And of all mornings, Monday seems to be one of the toughest.
- 1:02Maybe it's because the weekend gives us this sort of unspoken permission space to chill a little, to put aside some of our worries, to ignore the to-do list for a little bit and do something fun or spend some time with people we love or just step away from some of the things that the weekday asks of us.
- 1:24And even if you're like me and you spend a decent amount of your weekend doing domestic chores, sometimes even those feel like a welcome reprieve.
- 1:35There's something different about folding laundry or puttering around the house versus opening your laptop on a Monday morning and thinking,"Okay, here we go." So if you're listening to this on a Monday morning or a Monday night or really any other time, and you're reaching for something that might offer a little inspiration, a shift in perspective, or just something to stimulate your curiosity, I want to say welcome, and thank you for being here.
- 2:06But I also wanna acknowledge something about you.
- 2:09Research has actually found that podcast listeners tend to be more curious, more open to new experiences, and more likely to enjoy thinking and learning.
- 2:22And I kinda love that because maybe you clicked this episode without giving it much thought.
- 2:29Maybe you were walking the dog, driving to work, making coffee, or doing whatever it is you're doing right now.
- 2:34But the fact that you're here looking for something that might shift your perspective by even one degree says something about you.
- 2:44You're curious, you're open, and you're still willing to learn.
- 2:50And I think that intention alone bodes pretty well for whatever the day might be asking of you.
- 2:57So this is really just a short message today to say I see you, I can relate to you, and I'm really glad you're here.
- 3:07And if you've been listening to these Monday Moments for a while, I would genuinely love to know what resonates most for you or even how I could best serve you in these little segments.
- 3:18I tend to talk about whatever inspiration comes to me, and I certainly plan to continue doing that, but I'm curious about your experience as well.
- 3:29There's a link in the show notes if you ever feel like telling me.
- 3:33But for today, stay curious, stay open, and let's do this day together.
- 3:40We got this.
- 3:41Cheers.
