- 0:00Chapter 52 from the book of Isaiah.
- 0:03Dear God, please be with us as we read through this chapter and
- 0:07give us wisdom and insight in Jesus name.
- 0:12Awake, awake, Zion, clothe yourself with strength, put on
- 0:18your garments of splendor. Jerusalem, the holy city.
- 0:23Now this is where I think that when I read it, I think this is
- 0:29talking about the new Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the holy city.
- 0:33Obviously God chose Jerusalem as the city that would be his.
- 0:38And again, it says awake, awake Zion.
- 0:43And often most of the time it's in the prophetic books where
- 0:48Zion is used and it's also talking about a future time.
- 0:53And I believe that this and it's also talking about people.
- 0:56We talked through this on the last chapter.
- 0:59So I won't repeat myself, but it to me this has a reference of
- 1:05the future. So continuing on, Isaiah says
- 1:09the uncircumcised and defiled will not enter you again.
- 1:15So this is definitely in the future, the uncircumcised and
- 1:19the defiled, because God is creating a, there is a New
- 1:24Jerusalem that's talked about in the Book of Revelation and that
- 1:28will be coming down from heaven. And it's described completely
- 1:32different. I've mentioned this before where
- 1:35it's, it's about half the size of the United States when you
- 1:40look at the dimensions that are given and it's as tall as it is
- 1:44wide. And of course this could be
- 1:47symbolic because it's very interesting.
- 1:50It's like all these semi precious jewels and there's
- 1:53foundations and there's 12 levels and there's names and all
- 1:56that. I'm sure some of it's symbolic,
- 1:59but I also think that God is so creative.
- 2:02It's probably going to be something we have never
- 2:05anticipated, expected, or obviously we've never seen it
- 2:09before. And it will probably blow our
- 2:12minds, to be honest. I mean, if you just think of
- 2:15some of the, the natural wonders of the earth right now in its
- 2:20broken state and just think like when God, you know, fixes
- 2:25everything or when you know whatever God creates is
- 2:27beautiful. It's the corruption, the sin,
- 2:31the, I don't know, all sorts of things that affect God's
- 2:35creation, but God makes everything good.
- 2:38So this New Jerusalem is going to be amazing.
- 2:43Now in verse 2, Isaiah says shake off your dust, rise up,
- 2:50sit enthroned Jerusalem, free yourself from the chains on your
- 2:55neck. Daughter Zion now a captive, now
- 3:01shaking off dust that you know, putting dust on oneself is
- 3:06usually like a ashes on your body Back at that time and
- 3:09dressed in sackcloth was usually a sign of mourning.
- 3:12Now this is saying shake it off, shake off the dust, rise up.
- 3:16Now that rise up makes me think about the resurrection because
- 3:20we know that's what's going to happen.
- 3:22There will be mortal and immortal people living at the
- 3:27same time. When Jesus reigns for 1000
- 3:30years, everybody's looking for the Messiah to come.
- 3:34All religions like are really seriously all the three like
- 3:38Abrahamic religions are looking for someone to come.
- 3:42Unfortunately, two of the three will be deceived by the one the
- 3:49next one who comes and some of the Christians also, because it
- 3:53says that, you know, there's there's some that will be
- 3:56deceived. So there's someone that is
- 3:59coming in our future that is known as the lawless one.
- 4:02He's going to be the fake Messiah.
- 4:05And we'll just we'll have to wait and see how this plays out.
- 4:08But it's getting past that fake one.
- 4:13When we get when the real Jesus returns, it is going to be
- 4:18amazing and it's going to be this incredible time of peace
- 4:23and people are looking for a human being to provide that.
- 4:26I was listening to a Jewish rabbi who was talking about
- 4:31masiak and or mashiach, Mashiach and just saying that doesn't
- 4:36mean savior, that means anointed one.
- 4:39But there's so much more where it ties salvation to this person
- 4:43that comes. So the people who are Jewish are
- 4:46not looking for Jesus, obviously, and they're not
- 4:50looking for a savior to return. They're looking for a regular
- 4:53human being who is going to rule.
- 4:58And so that makes it very interesting.
- 5:01And that surely explains how people will be deceived because
- 5:05they aren't looking for the Son of God.
- 5:07In fact, this one, this rabbi specifically said he's not the
- 5:11Son of God. So this is the deception, this
- 5:15deception, this is the blindness that comes over all for the
- 5:20rejection of Jesus. But it says that in that day,
- 5:24their eyes will be opened and they will realize this is the
- 5:27one who was pierced, this is Jesus, this is the one they kept
- 5:30denying. And you people can be forgiven
- 5:34for for that. It says that there's only one
- 5:39thing that you can't be forgiven of, and that's blasphemy of the
- 5:41spirit. If you speak against the Son of
- 5:43God, you can still repent and, and, and be forgiven.
- 5:48But if you speak against the Spirit of God, that's completely
- 5:51different you that there is that is one the one unforgivable sin.
- 5:58And I think that's also like the mark of the beast.
- 6:00If somebody takes the mark of the beast, whatever that turns
- 6:03out to be, that's also unforgivable.
- 6:06Once you do that, that can't be undone.
- 6:09You've basically probably aligned yourself with someone
- 6:12other than God and it's it's the same pretty much.
- 6:17I guess the way I'm looking at it as blasphemy of the Holy
- 6:20Spirit. You're rejecting the one true
- 6:22God and aligning yourself with something else.
- 6:24So anyway, let's go back to what Isaiah says.
- 6:28So I think this is like shake off the dust, rise up, sit
- 6:31enthroned Jerusalem, free yourself from the chains on your
- 6:34neck. Daughter Zion now a captive.
- 6:37So we are all captive by Satan is called the ruler of the air.
- 6:42He is affecting this world right now, whether we realize it or
- 6:47not. He is.
- 6:49And those who have also rebelled against God, they're spiritual
- 6:54entities that have rebelled against God and they're unseen.
- 6:58So that's why people can't quickly identify that.
- 7:01It's like you have to have your spiritual sense open to
- 7:04understand that there are these evil influences.
- 7:09We can see it. We can, You know, that's why so
- 7:12many people are like, I can't even imagine how could this ever
- 7:15happen? Like it's so evil when somebody
- 7:17says something like that. Well, that's why because it's so
- 7:20evil and it's unseen. So the Bible explains this stuff
- 7:24to us. So let's continue with Isaiah
- 7:27for this is what the Lord says. You were sold for nothing and
- 7:33without money you will be redeemed.
- 7:36Now this is interesting. This is the second time that it
- 7:39talks about a group of people being sold.
- 7:43And there was like an exchange, which I don't, I haven't heard
- 7:48anybody teach about that, but it, it said that, you know, God
- 7:52exchanged people for actually for the Israelites.
- 7:57And, and I guess, you know, God always goes with somebody's free
- 8:01will. So he can probably see who is
- 8:04rejecting him. And, and I just know that God is
- 8:07fair. He is just, he is righteous.
- 8:11So when he sold, he probably took the ones who were rejecting
- 8:15him and said, OK, I'll give you these for these, you know, or,
- 8:18and anyway, he, there was an exchange because it said that,
- 8:24you know, he's, he gave, I guess he gave away some people for the
- 8:28exchange of Israel in the past in the Old Testament.
- 8:32And then there's he did give Israel, the 10 tribes of Israel,
- 8:38a certificate of divorce. It talks about in Jeremiah that
- 8:41we talked about in a prior chapter.
- 8:44So he did separate because of their idolatry and wickedness.
- 8:50That's why he sold them. But he didn't sell, not sell.
- 8:54That's why he gave them a certificate of divorce.
- 8:57But to Judah, he didn't give a a certificate of a divorce.
- 9:01But I believe he put her away, which is different from divorce.
- 9:06There is, it's like being separated from and not official,
- 9:12officially divorced. And so these are all like
- 9:17metaphoric, our analogies to what is actually happened in the
- 9:22spiritual realm. So, but we can relate to the
- 9:26natural realm, but the spiritual realm, if we apply it to that,
- 9:31then we can kind of understand it a little bit better.
- 9:34And I think that's why God gave us so many parables or things
- 9:37for humans, human beings that they could understand.
- 9:39And, and Jesus said one time, I think it was to Nicodemus, he
- 9:42said, how can I tell you of spiritual things when you can't
- 9:46even understand the earthly things?
- 9:48So it's just, it's beyond what we can comprehend.
- 9:52But Scripture gives gives us a little bit of a a comparison
- 9:56that we can somewhat understand. I'm sure none of us have it
- 9:59completely figured out. But let's go back to what he
- 10:02said. You were sold for nothing and
- 10:06without money you will be redeemed.
- 10:09Now how does that happen? That's Jesus on the cross.
- 10:12Like they didn't make the payment.
- 10:15Jesus made the payment for the lives.
- 10:18So someday the Jewish people's eyes will be opened and they
- 10:23will realize that Jesus paid the price for them and they will see
- 10:27these scriptures, these Old Testament scriptures that were
- 10:30written in like 700 BC and understand that, wow, he was
- 10:36written about all throughout the Old Testament that we read all
- 10:40the time and we didn't see it. And I think it has to do with
- 10:45the unbelief of the ancestors. And this was maybe punishment
- 10:50for that. But they're, like I said before,
- 10:53there are some Messianic Jews, Jews that believe in Jesus.
- 10:58So I, I don't know why some are blinded and others are not.
- 11:03And I guess it's maybe an internal decision, a heart
- 11:06decision, you know, maybe not in actions, but in their heart.
- 11:12They have not been circumcised to God.
- 11:14So let's go back to Isaiah verse 4.
- 11:18For this is what the sovereign Lord says.
- 11:20At first my people went down to Egypt to live.
- 11:24Lately Assyria has oppressed them.
- 11:27And now what do I have here? Declares the Lord.
- 11:32For my people have been taken away for nothing, and those who
- 11:37rule them mock declares the Lord, and all day long my name
- 11:45is constantly blasphemed. OK, so this is something that we
- 11:51know that of the three Abrahamic religions.
- 11:55That's why we can never be unified.
- 11:57Because if we are, the name of Jesus is excluded.
- 12:02The name, the Savior, the one who makes it possible for us to
- 12:07be in the Kingdom of God is excluded, that what he did on
- 12:11the cross is denied both in Jewish belief and Jewish faith.
- 12:19Those who don't believe in the Messiah don't believe Jesus is
- 12:22the Messiah. And then, so I'm not talking
- 12:25about Messianic Jews, but the, the, I guess the Jewish people
- 12:30today and then also the Islamic people.
- 12:34They say Jesus was a prophet and he was a good man and he was
- 12:36sinless. But then they say Muhammad is
- 12:39greater than him. And Muhammad like went out and
- 12:42killed people. Jesus was expressing love to
- 12:44everybody and Muhammad's going out killing them.
- 12:47And somehow they think Muhammad's a greater prophet.
- 12:50That just blows my mind. It just, it's completely
- 12:54illogical. And, and not only that, but I've
- 12:57mentioned this before, the Bible was written in 90 AD and the
- 13:02Quran came about in 600 something AD.
- 13:06And the Bible says if an Angel or anyone tells us, tells you
- 13:10any other gospel than what we've shared with you, that is like
- 13:14the spirit of the Antichrist, something to that effect.
- 13:17And so then Muhammad has an Angel come to him and tell him
- 13:21something different, and then he deceives all these people.
- 13:26I mean, isn't it clear that he is evil, that he went around
- 13:30killing and he's deceived people?
- 13:33And it's so sad because people are blinded by that.
- 13:37But someday people will, their eyes will spiritually be open
- 13:41and they will see the spirit behind it.
- 13:44And I will anyone who is listening from a different
- 13:48faith, pray to God. Pray to the one true God, God
- 13:54the Father, and ask him to reveal the truth about Jesus.
- 14:00Just pray, honestly seek, and and I know that God will reveal
- 14:06it to you. I know that he will.
- 14:08If you are truly, if you're not doing it in a mocking way and
- 14:12you're sincerely asking God for clarity, God will make sure you
- 14:16know there will be signs that you will see because God wants
- 14:20to be known. OK, let's go back.
- 14:23Therefore, my people will know my name.
- 14:26Therefore, in that day, they will know that it is I who
- 14:31foretold it. Yes, it is I so that just that's
- 14:37really interesting because they will know my name.
- 14:40Well, obviously the Jewish people and other, you know,
- 14:44people talk about God, but here I think they're talking about
- 14:49Jesus, the son of God. And and so this is is is Jesus
- 14:56the one who's telling Isaiah this?
- 14:58Just some a thought that came to mind.
- 15:01How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring
- 15:05good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who
- 15:10proclaim salvation. Yes, that is the gospel message
- 15:16of Jesus, salvation. He is the Messiah who brought
- 15:20salvation, although some deny him, and by denying him they
- 15:28will be excluded from the Kingdom of God.
- 15:30Jesus said I am the way, the truth and the life.
- 15:34No one comes to the Father except through me.
- 15:38Meaning if you don't believe that he died on the cross and
- 15:41rose again, then you cannot be in the Kingdom of God.
- 15:46Because if you've seen Jesus, you've seen the Father.
- 15:51That's what Jesus also said. OK, so it says who pray,
- 15:56proclaim salvation, who say to Zion your God reigns.
- 16:00Listen your Watchmen lift up their voices together they shout
- 16:05for joy when the Lord returns to Zion.
- 16:10Now this is interesting. I would.
- 16:12I didn't look up the actual Hebrew words, But when the Lord
- 16:16returns to Zion, what I've heard from this Jewish rabbi was that
- 16:23he was talking about a a human Messiah that was going to be
- 16:30coming, an anointed one. But Isaiah in 700 BC says when
- 16:37the Lord returns to Zion, that's Jesus.
- 16:42They will see it with their own eyes.
- 16:46Listen to this Burst into songs of joy together, your you ruins
- 16:53of Jerusalem. For the Lord has comforted his
- 16:56people, He has redeemed Jerusalem.
- 16:59The Lord will lay bare his holy arm in the sight of all the
- 17:05nations, and all the ends of the earth will see the salvation of
- 17:12our God. This is Jesus coming on the
- 17:15clouds. I mentioned this before and
- 17:17there's scripture to document that.
- 17:20I want to pause for a minute and actually read some verses from
- 17:25Scripture that talk about this Jesus coming in the clouds, and
- 17:30not only Jesus coming in the clouds, but just that we will
- 17:33see Jesus again. So, and how many times this is
- 17:37referenced in the Old Testament, Even so in Isaiah chapter 18
- 17:43verse 3, all you people of the world, you who live on earth,
- 17:48when a banner is raised on the mountains, you will see it and
- 17:53when a trumpet sounds you will hear it.
- 17:57Now this is talking about, if you recall that when Jesus comes
- 18:04on the clouds, a trumpet will be blown.
- 18:07So think about that in Isaiah 29 verse 18.
- 18:13In that day, the death, the deaf will hear the words of the
- 18:18scroll, and out of gloom and darkness the eyes of the blind
- 18:24will see. So in that day when Jesus
- 18:27returns, people will remember what was written in Isaiah 2918
- 18:35and the blind eyes will see. So 700 BC, almost 2700, well
- 18:43more than 2700 years ago this was written and foretold by God.
- 18:51So let's see your eyes in Isaiah 33 verse 17.
- 18:57Your eyes will see the king in his beauty and view a land that
- 19:02stretches afar. And let's see where I wanted to,
- 19:09OK? It says in Isaiah 33, verse 20,
- 19:12Look on Zion, the city of our festivals.
- 19:16Your eyes will see Jerusalem, a peaceful abode, a tent that will
- 19:25not be moved. Its stakes will never be pulled
- 19:29up, nor any of its ropes broken. Now this is Jerusalem, a
- 19:34peaceful place. Now there was another scripture
- 19:37that I think read the last episode where it talked about
- 19:42Jerusalem being a tent and Zion being a dwelling.
- 19:47So I think Jerusalem is the temporary place and Zion is the
- 19:52permanent place. But this is just kind of
- 19:55interesting, especially right now in September, about a month
- 19:59from now, there's going to be a discussion again about the two
- 20:02state solution and about dividing the land of Israel.
- 20:05And that's not what God has. For Israel, that's not what
- 20:11Israel wants. I don't know if Israel's going
- 20:13to agree to this. I can't imagine.
- 20:16But in order for God's prophecy to be fulfilled, they could
- 20:20perhaps agree to dividing the land.
- 20:23If they do, Oh my goodness, there is going to be wrath of
- 20:27God that comes out. So when people talk about end
- 20:30times right now, all eyes are on Israel and pay attention.
- 20:34It's, it's ironically happening during the Jewish feast of Rosh
- 20:41Hashanah, which is really interesting during that time
- 20:45frame. It's kind of weird when all
- 20:46these nations make these decisions on Jewish feast days
- 20:51and an especially, it's just very interesting.
- 20:53It's like the enemy just mocking and saying, I'm going to even do
- 20:57this on your feast day. So watch and see what happens.
- 21:01If it doesn't happen, then God's given us some breathing room.
- 21:05And there's some, there's more time than a lot of people are
- 21:08anticipating. But if it does happen, oh boy,
- 21:12you better be ready to meet the Lord because it's very, very
- 21:15soon then. And I'll get into that a little
- 21:17bit later too. OK, so let's see the Isaiah 40
- 21:24verse 5 says, and the glory of the Lord will be revealed and
- 21:27all people will see it together. For the mouth of the Lord has
- 21:31spoken. Isaiah 49 verse 7.
- 21:35This is what the Lord says, the Redeemer Jesus and the Holy One
- 21:39of Israel, to him who was despised, despised and abhorred
- 21:45by the nation, to the servant of rulers.
- 21:49Kings will see you and stand up, Princess will see you and bow
- 21:54down because of the Lord who is faithful, the Holy One of Israel
- 22:00who has chosen you list. Listen your Watchmen lift up
- 22:06their voices together they shout for joy.
- 22:08When the Lord returns to Zion, they will see it with their own
- 22:11eyes. Now that was the verse we were
- 22:13reading this chapter. There's like 3 different
- 22:15references in here. The Lord will lay bare his holy
- 22:19arm. Insight of all the nations and
- 22:22all the ends of the earth will see the salvation of our God.
- 22:26So He will sprinkle many nations, and kings will shut
- 22:29their mouths because of Him. For what they were not told they
- 22:33will see, and what they have not heard, they will understand.
- 22:39Now then in the New Testament, this is how it all gets tied
- 22:44together. And that's what people who don't
- 22:46study both the Old and the New Testament miss out on what's in
- 22:51the Bible. So let's see, I didn't read the
- 22:57context of this, but Malachi 15 says you will see it with your
- 23:00own eyes and say great is the Lord even beyond the borders of
- 23:04Israel. And Jesus said, blessed are the
- 23:07pure in heart, for they will see God.
- 23:12And then in Matthew verse 20 or Matthew chapter 26 verse 64,
- 23:19Jesus says, you have said so Jesus replied, but I say to all
- 23:24of you, from now on you will see the Son of Man sitting at the
- 23:31right hand of the mighty one and coming on the clouds of heaven.
- 23:37This is talking about the return of Jesus.
- 23:40So let's see in Matthew 28 verse 10, well that's not really
- 23:48unless Mark chapter 13 verse 26 at that time people will see the
- 23:55Son of Man coming in clouds with great power and glory.
- 24:01In Mark chapter 14 verse 62, I am said Jesus, and you will see
- 24:07the Son of man sitting at the right hand of the mighty one and
- 24:11coming on the clouds of heaven In Mark chapter 16 verse 7.
- 24:18But go tell his disciples and Peter, he is going ahead of you
- 24:21into Galilee there. Oh, that's never mind.
- 24:24That's not about the future. That's was at that at their
- 24:28time. Luke chapter 3 verse 6 and all
- 24:31people will see God's salvation and let's see Luke 18 verse 8.
- 24:44I tell you, he will see that they get justice and quickly.
- 24:49However, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on
- 24:54earth? That's a message for all of us.
- 24:57Like we need to stay strong in our faith right now and we need
- 25:01to not waver in our faith. It's the it's a very important
- 25:05time to be in Scripture reading it and in prayer daily with God,
- 25:10communicating with God because of this, you know, we don't know
- 25:15how this future prophecy, the timing of everything.
- 25:18And there's a lot of people that feel like it's really, really,
- 25:21really close. So it's really important to be
- 25:25in the word and have that relationship strong with God.
- 25:30In Luke 21 verse 27, at that time they will see the Son of
- 25:36Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.
- 25:40And let's see in John chapter one verse 51, then he then
- 25:46added, very truly I tell you, you will see heaven open and the
- 25:52angels of God ascending and descending on the Son of man.
- 25:58In John Chapter 9 verse 39, Jesus said for judgment, I have
- 26:04come into this world so that the blind will see and those who see
- 26:12will become blind things. You know, it's a spiritual
- 26:16thing. Let's see John 11 verse 40.
- 26:22Then Jesus said, did I not tell you that if you believe you will
- 26:27see the glory of God? It's all about faith, about
- 26:32belief. We are saved by faith before,
- 26:38OK, John 14 verse 19. Before long the world will not
- 26:43see me anymore, but you will see me because I live.
- 26:48You also will live. That's Jesus talking to his
- 26:51disciples. And in John chapter 16 verse 16,
- 26:55he said Jesus went on to say in a little while you will see me
- 27:00no more. And then after a little while
- 27:04you will see me. This is about the resurrection.
- 27:08When Jesus returns, that's when resurrection happens.
- 27:12Maybe the 12 disciples, no, they weren't.
- 27:15They were still alive when Jesus resurrected.
- 27:17So they weren't the ones who were walking around the city of
- 27:20Jerusalem. But I guess they will get their
- 27:23bodies when Jesus returns and that's when they will see him
- 27:27again. Boy, that's going to be an
- 27:28exciting time. And then John 16 verse 17 said
- 27:34at this some of his disciples said to one another, what does
- 27:37he mean by saying in a little while you will see me no more?
- 27:40And then after a little while you will see me because I'm
- 27:44going to the father. So they were they were
- 27:46questioning that. Then in nine verse 19, it says
- 27:51Jesus saw that they wanted to ask him about it.
- 27:54So he said to them, are you asking one another what I meant
- 27:57when I said in a little while you will see me no more.
- 28:00And then in a after a little while, you will see me very
- 28:05truly, I tell you. You will weep and mourn while
- 28:09the world rejoices when he died on the cross.
- 28:12You will grieve, but your grief will turn to joy when Jesus
- 28:16returns. A woman giving birth to a child
- 28:19has pain because her time has come.
- 28:23But when her baby is born, she forgets the anguish because of
- 28:28her joy that a child is born into the world.
- 28:33So again, this is like a spiritual thing that they don't
- 28:37know what he's talking about, but he's describing it,
- 28:40comparing it to the birth of a child, the birth.
- 28:43And this is where I think about like, can a nation be born in a
- 28:47day? I think it's actually born not
- 28:49in 1948. I think the day the nation born
- 28:53in a day is when Jesus returns. And that is God's Kingdom is
- 28:58born in a day. But that's just my
- 29:01interpretation. So going back to what Jesus
- 29:04says. So with you, now is your time of
- 29:06grief. But I will see you again, and
- 29:09you will rejoice, and no one will take away your joy.
- 29:14Listen to this. In that day you will no longer
- 29:17ask me anything. Very truly.
- 29:20I tell you, my Father will give you whatever you ask in My name.
- 29:26Until now you have not asked for anything in My name.
- 29:31Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete.
- 29:37Though I have been speaking figuratively, a time is coming
- 29:41when I will no longer use this kind of language, but will tell
- 29:44you plainly about my Father. In that day, you will ask in my
- 29:49name. I am not saying that I will ask
- 29:52the Father on your behalf. No, the Father Himself loves you
- 29:56because you have loved me and have believed that I came from
- 30:02God. Let's read that again because
- 30:04that's important for all of us. No, the Father himself loves you
- 30:09because you have loved me and have believed that I came from
- 30:14God. That's really important.
- 30:16I came from the Father and entered the world.
- 30:19Now I am leaving the world and going back to the Father.
- 30:24Then Jesus disciples said, now you are speaking clearly and
- 30:28without figures of speech. Now we can see that you know all
- 30:32things and that you do not even need to have anyone ask you
- 30:36questions. That this makes us believe that
- 30:40you came from God. Do you now believe?
- 30:43Jesus replied. A time is coming and in fact has
- 30:46come, when you will be scattered each to your own home.
- 30:50You will leave me all alone. Yet I am not alone, for my
- 30:53Father is with me. I have told you these things so
- 30:57that in me you may have peace in this world You will have
- 31:02trouble, but take heart. I have overcome the world.
