He Beat The System
A teenager escapes prison, hijacks a plane for ransom, vanishes overseas and quietly builds a normal life. This Backstories episode dives into the true story of Gregory Edward Wright and asks the uncomfortable question nobody wants to answer. Did crime actually work. We break down the prison escape, the hijacking, life on the run, and how the justice system let a fugitive disappear for decades. This is about survival, morality, punishment, and whether redemption should even be possible after something this extreme.
