- 0:01Speaker 1: Hello, and welcome to Jason new Land. To come come.
- 0:17Speaker 1: My name is Jason new Land. This is let me
- 0:23Speaker 1: put you to sleep. Whisper ironically both my most popular
- 0:34Speaker 1: recordings and my least popular recordings.
- 0:39Speaker 2: Yay, Hello, hello, hello, hello hello.
- 0:56Speaker 3: So yeah, so this.
- 1:07Speaker 1: Is Whisper Monday. Yes, Monday again, Monday don't have come
- 1:16Speaker 1: around quickly. So I'd just like to say a big
- 1:24Speaker 1: thank you to all the well wishes on my Facebook page.
- 1:30Speaker 3: Thank you, and.
- 1:43Speaker 1: Also address a few moons about me doing the Whisper recordings.
- 1:50Speaker 1: Just let you know this, these Whisper Mondays and Whisper
- 1:57Speaker 1: Tuesdays and Whisper Wednesday is they're not replacing anything. It's
- 2:06Speaker 1: an additional thing.
- 2:09Speaker 3: So it's I think it's I've been doing this.
- 2:23Speaker 1: It's kind of the first thing in the morning I
- 2:29Speaker 1: wake up, I do we we and I make a recording.
- 2:47Speaker 1: Now because of the time, whispering is the only time
- 2:53Speaker 1: really that I can do any kind.
- 2:54Speaker 3: Of whisper stuff, And.
- 3:08Speaker 1: When I do wake up in the morning, I'm kind
- 3:11Speaker 1: of like a different person to how I am later
- 3:14Speaker 1: in the day. I was thinking about this before I
- 3:19Speaker 1: made the recording. I'm I'm sure how to explain it. Really,
- 3:29Speaker 1: I can't believe my voice gets croaky when I'm whispering. Really, Okay,
- 3:37Speaker 1: I can't do it again.
- 3:39Speaker 3: But I suppose this is just I don't know.
- 3:45Speaker 1: I don't know if I'm going to do these regularly.
- 3:49Speaker 1: I just happened to have done one for a few
- 3:54Speaker 1: days in a row. But my intention is to get
- 3:59Speaker 1: back to a degree of normality and do the let
- 4:12Speaker 1: Me buy you to Sleep recordings like I was doing them.
- 4:16Speaker 1: You know, Monday's borrowing objects, trivia, Tuesday, Curday, Friday, Saturday Summary,
- 4:26Speaker 1: maybe even Sunday's papers. Maybe we shall st see how
- 4:40Speaker 1: things go today. Over the last few weeks, I kind
- 4:54Speaker 1: of yeah, my my consistency lacked somewhat.
- 5:10Speaker 3: And didn't.
- 5:12Speaker 1: I mean, I still have made recordings during this period,
- 5:15Speaker 1: but there's been periods of time where I didn't do anything,
- 5:25Speaker 1: and I'm kind of surprised I'm still making recordings right now,
- 5:34Speaker 1: but I seem to want to do it, so hey,
- 5:40Speaker 1: go go. I had a strange dream last night that
- 5:54Speaker 1: I was seeing this in this situation where everybody was
- 6:08Speaker 1: related to me, and I was trying to comfort a
- 6:16Speaker 1: female uh relative, I don't know, sister or whatever, and
- 6:40Speaker 1: none of it made sense, not really. There was a speedboat.
- 6:53Speaker 1: There was a bloke, the man, I don't know who
- 7:00Speaker 1: he was. Mhm, just trying to remember bits of the drain.
- 7:14Speaker 1: M hm.
- 7:17Speaker 4: Hm.
- 7:19Speaker 1: I think my dance their neighbor just farted really loudly. Honestly,
- 7:32Speaker 1: I just said, like a big vibration, like a little
- 7:39Speaker 1: drop in set off. That's funny, brilliant.
- 7:53Speaker 3: Saying m.
- 8:02Speaker 5: Hm.
- 8:04Speaker 1: The weekend was a bit boring, to be honest. There's
- 8:09Speaker 1: no boxing, no nothing really just went a bit early
- 8:22Speaker 1: both nights. I think I was in bed by eight
- 8:25Speaker 1: o'clock both Friday and no Saturday. No Friday Saturday and
- 8:32Speaker 1: Sunday night. There's not a lot going on.
- 8:45Speaker 3: Yesterday I did a.
- 8:51Speaker 1: Recording on grief, and I was re recording this recording
- 9:03Speaker 1: as you do. It was in the afternoon, and all
- 9:09Speaker 1: I could hear was screaming in the garden, just shouting
- 9:14Speaker 1: and screaming kids and adults. Like I was getting mildly
- 9:22Speaker 1: wound up. I don't ask for much, just a little
- 9:28Speaker 1: bit of peace, just especially when I'm making a recording.
- 9:33Speaker 1: So I stopped talking and I got.
- 9:36Speaker 4: Up and I moved or pretty much all of my
- 9:41Speaker 4: books from my bookcase. I've got three bookcases and I
- 9:47Speaker 4: moved them onto the window sill and pretty much filled
- 9:52Speaker 4: up most of the gap of where the window is.
- 10:01Speaker 4: And it seemed to be it's done quite a good
- 10:04Speaker 4: job of soundproofing the room from the screaming kids. It's like, wow,
- 10:22Speaker 4: it seems to.
- 10:22Speaker 1: Be overkilled though, to be fair, because I'm looking at it,
- 10:26Speaker 1: it's just like it looks a bit messy, looks like
- 10:30Speaker 1: a modern piece of art, something you might have seen
- 10:34Speaker 1: in an art gallery.
- 10:39Speaker 3: We know what artist.
- 10:47Speaker 1: It's weird, but it's definitely I mean, it's quiet now anyway.
- 11:01Speaker 1: I mean, if you listen to the beginning of yesterday's recording,
- 11:07Speaker 1: the Grief one, you.
- 11:10Speaker 3: Can actually hear.
- 11:14Speaker 1: Squeaky screaming over there. And it's just too loud. It's
- 11:29Speaker 1: just too in for me, it's just a little bit
- 11:31Speaker 1: too loud.
- 11:33Speaker 5: And.
- 11:37Speaker 1: It's constant.
- 11:41Speaker 3: Consciously and it's yeah, I.
- 11:44Speaker 1: Know I'm moaning, but it is a little bit too
- 11:46Speaker 1: much sometimes and make make that my voice again. You
- 11:59Speaker 1: get that, making aking, making recordings is something that it's
- 12:16Speaker 1: all I've got. It's the only thing.
- 12:21Speaker 6: That I do, and.
- 12:32Speaker 1: It's so I need to be able to have that
- 12:40Speaker 1: sense of quiet. Now there is a way around it,
- 12:54Speaker 1: and I'm thinking about working My way in that way
- 12:59Speaker 1: is to keep my table out of the storage room,
- 13:11Speaker 1: but in the other side, the other side of the Yeah,
- 13:20Speaker 1: but at the other side of the room, and then
- 13:25Speaker 1: start using the other microphone agag because that doesn't pick
- 13:30Speaker 1: up so much sound from outside, so I might do
- 13:40Speaker 1: that instead. I don't know, I'm not sure. I'm just
- 14:05Speaker 1: trying to get.
- 14:08Speaker 7: In touch with how I feel. I feel okay, m hm, yeah,
- 14:29Speaker 7: I'm all right. I feel all right, Yeah, not much
- 14:45Speaker 7: going on. Wies feel that I'll be strained.
- 15:01Speaker 3: I got them.
- 15:01Speaker 1: Closed feeling properly.
- 15:19Speaker 6: That will be hungry.
- 15:40Speaker 2: Mm hmm.
- 15:44Speaker 1: I'm still trying to remember that dream. Nah, can't remember. No,
- 16:30Speaker 1: it's gone good to mad. I was a little bit
- 16:38Speaker 1: restless last night.
- 16:46Speaker 3: To start with.
- 16:59Speaker 1: Mm hmm. I could quite easily just fall back to sleep,
- 17:40Speaker 1: which just shows there's not much going on inside my
- 17:43Speaker 1: brain right now. No change there. Then he's been good,
- 18:24Speaker 1: fast asleep.
- 18:27Speaker 3: On the bed.
- 18:31Speaker 1: It take quite a lot to wake him up.
- 18:35Speaker 3: Once his gone.
- 18:36Speaker 1: He's gone, like really it's a very deep sleep. But
- 18:40Speaker 1: once he's falls asleep, it just reminds me there's been
- 18:55Speaker 1: times when I've kind of tried to wake him up,
- 18:58Speaker 1: just like playing, you know, clicking my fingers and doing
- 19:04Speaker 1: a little dance or nothing. It reminds me there was
- 19:09Speaker 1: a TV as. It's a movie called Bob with oh
- 19:21Speaker 1: what's his name? It's the the actor that was in
- 19:39Speaker 1: Groundhog Day, Bill Murray. Bob. So he's I funk correct.
- 19:51Speaker 1: He's a psychiatric patient and he goes and visits his psychiatrist,
- 19:58Speaker 1: who is Richard Dreyfus. Has a lot of information that's
- 20:02Speaker 1: in my head, and he stays over, I might get
- 20:09Speaker 1: I might have this wrong. This one scene where Richard
- 20:16Speaker 1: Traces is trying to wake him up.
- 20:24Speaker 3: And he's yelling, he's.
- 20:28Speaker 1: Passion, symbols together, drums, you know, all kinds of things.
- 20:35Speaker 3: Nothing.
- 20:36Speaker 1: Nothing's waking.
- 20:39Speaker 6: Bob up or Bill Murray.
- 20:43Speaker 1: He's doing this for like a few minutes, and there's
- 20:46Speaker 1: a whole schedu really where he's showing him different ways
- 20:52Speaker 1: trying to wake up Bob. And at the end of
- 20:59Speaker 1: it was lying there and this alarm clock goes off,
- 21:05Speaker 1: didd di did did did and he just wakes up
- 21:09Speaker 1: yawns that says good morning. It's very funny. I've buried.
- 21:17Speaker 1: It really haven't I if you haven't seen it. But
- 21:21Speaker 1: it's an old movie from probably in the nineties, so
- 21:28Speaker 1: so he said a while back, might even be the eighties.
- 21:35Speaker 1: What about Bob that's called Richard Drafus and Bill Murray. Ye, yeah,
- 21:52Speaker 1: it was good. I was another scene. It's a different movie,
- 22:10Speaker 1: but there's a couple of I just remember rewinding the
- 22:19Speaker 1: videotape because the comedy clip caught me off guard and
- 22:25Speaker 1: made me laugh so hard that I.
- 22:28Speaker 3: Had to go back and rewatch it. That was one
- 22:34Speaker 3: of those one. That's one clip I kept.
- 22:37Speaker 1: Rewinding because it was so funny.
- 22:42Speaker 3: And the second one, another one.
- 22:44Speaker 5: Was did did did Gene Wilder? Geene Wilder was in
- 22:59Speaker 5: his movie and he's standing outside the door of this
- 23:05Speaker 5: big mentioned house thing and this lady kisses him on
- 23:14Speaker 5: the lips and Gene Wilder.
- 23:22Speaker 1: Looks disgusted and he rubs his lips, screams and runs away.
- 23:32Speaker 1: It's very funny. I just I just found hilarious. I
- 23:38Speaker 1: remember rewinding that because he caught me off God, that
- 23:43Speaker 1: did not expect that. As Jeene Wilder was, I think
- 23:53Speaker 1: he's one of the greatest comedy actors a something as
- 24:01Speaker 1: they say, funny bones he had. It's so funny.
- 24:09Speaker 3: It was that.
- 24:11Speaker 1: Obliviousness almost, that look in his eyes, like wasn't quite
- 24:19Speaker 1: sure what was going on around him. But I think
- 24:28Speaker 1: people like him. If you love his movies, his comedy movies,
- 24:38Speaker 1: possibly avoid watching any interviews that he did because he
- 24:43Speaker 1: wasn't that person.
- 24:44Speaker 3: He was very serious, and you know he wasn't I know,
- 24:52Speaker 3: he obviously he wasn't that.
- 24:54Speaker 1: Person because he's an actor, but I quite like the
- 24:58Speaker 1: idea of him being that person. It's just, you know,
- 25:03Speaker 1: if you see Jim Carrey being interviewed, he's all serious
- 25:09Speaker 1: these days. But then you get some some entertainers or
- 25:18Speaker 1: comedy actors, and they liked, I don't know, they're just
- 25:29Speaker 1: naturally funny, if.
- 25:36Speaker 3: That makes sense.
- 25:44Speaker 1: I met a few comedians like that, some that were
- 25:48Speaker 1: just really funny people off and on stage. I don't
- 26:02Speaker 1: think I ever saw any of the really funny ones
- 26:06Speaker 1: make it successfully. But the ones that were funny off stage,
- 26:17Speaker 1: it's it's almost it's which is quite strange. But the
- 26:23Speaker 1: ones that were really funny on stage were just I
- 26:29Speaker 1: j I don't know's trying to explain that they weren't
- 26:33Speaker 1: like that when they were off off the stage. I
- 26:41Speaker 1: suppose I could double identity.
- 26:46Speaker 3: Perhaps.
- 26:58Speaker 1: I suppose also those comedians that are successful, when they're
- 27:08Speaker 1: doing the clubs and they're you know, doing the different
- 27:13Speaker 1: comedy clubs, they're probably tired but being funny and they
- 27:23Speaker 1: need a break from it, especially if they doing maybe two, three,
- 27:31Speaker 1: maybe four kicks in one night at the weekend. The
- 27:40Speaker 1: probably last thing they want to do is tell jokes
- 27:44Speaker 1: when they're not on stage. Yeah, although I did get
- 28:07Speaker 1: a lift with Ricky Crow for once. This is before
- 28:11Speaker 1: I knew who he was, and he did his character Buller.
- 28:18Speaker 3: The whole way. So he came.
- 28:21Speaker 1: He lived in a sports car from the comedy club,
- 28:26Speaker 1: probably about ninety four and maybe ninety five, and he came.
- 28:39Speaker 3: He lived to Stratford. I don't know where he lived.
- 28:42Speaker 3: I think he lived.
- 28:43Speaker 1: In Bow or Canning Town or something like that. And
- 28:50Speaker 1: I didn't realize it was I've not seen his act
- 28:56Speaker 1: and it was the Buller where he plays his character
- 28:59Speaker 1: called and he did that the whole journey. It was
- 29:04Speaker 1: very funny, but he was just player, you know, a character.
- 29:19Speaker 1: I think my favorite comedy character now is Alan Bartridge.
- 29:30Speaker 1: I've decided. I've made my decision. And Alan Bartridge.
- 29:35Speaker 5: Is just.
- 29:38Speaker 1: So funny all annuances and I guess they having followed
- 29:47Speaker 1: him the decades, seeing the way the character's developed, it's
- 30:01Speaker 1: so good. I don't know how well known Alan Bartridge
- 30:07Speaker 1: is outside of the UK, and I don't know how.
- 30:18Speaker 1: I don't know. I don't know how understandable the character
- 30:27Speaker 1: would be, because it it's the character's funny on different levels.
- 30:34Speaker 1: It's funny in itself, but also he's kind of made
- 30:40Speaker 1: fun of a lot of the.
- 30:44Speaker 3: Not just I suppose the.
- 30:45Speaker 1: Radio DJs that then went on to TV and did
- 30:50Speaker 1: chat shows and stuff like that. He he's got some
- 30:57Speaker 1: of those mannerisms and yeah, it's such a great character.
- 31:11Speaker 1: Pre certain that Steve Coogan, who is the actor who
- 31:21Speaker 1: plays Alan Partridge, probably gets completely fed up.
- 31:29Speaker 3: With doing that character.
- 31:33Speaker 1: At times and wishes that one of his other characters
- 31:37Speaker 1: was as popular.
- 31:40Speaker 3: But he's.
- 31:48Speaker 1: His audience has grown up with him and.
- 31:58Speaker 3: He can keep that character. I mean, nor is he.
- 32:03Speaker 1: It'd probably be about sixty now, maybe late fifties. He's
- 32:10Speaker 1: holdering me just probably not by much, maybe five years
- 32:19Speaker 1: since he had let's say sixty, So he might be
- 32:23Speaker 1: able to do that character for another twenty years.
- 32:28Speaker 5: Dear.
- 32:28Speaker 1: One of my favorite roles that Steve Kogan was in
- 32:35Speaker 1: was when he did Laura Lenardi Laura. What was it called.
- 32:44Speaker 1: I can remember the name of the movie. I think
- 32:48Speaker 1: it might just been their first names, Stanham, Lawrence, Oliver,
- 33:00Speaker 1: stan and Oliver. I think it was, yeah, Stan and
- 33:05Speaker 1: Oliver and Steve Cooking played the skinny one, Laura Lenardi
- 33:19Speaker 1: Hardi was the big one one, Laurel Stan Las He
- 33:22Speaker 1: played Stan. He even had his eyes. I mean, he's
- 33:30Speaker 1: always had these eyes, but that was strange because he
- 33:37Speaker 1: had the same eyes. He has the same eyes as
- 33:39Speaker 1: Stan Laurel. She makes me think that he possibly wanted
- 33:53Speaker 1: to play that character, that role plays Stan Laurel for
- 34:00Speaker 1: a long time because he knew he looked like him.
- 34:07Speaker 1: That was a really good movie as well. It's really
- 34:16Speaker 1: just about their relationship, their friendship.
- 34:22Speaker 3: And you know, kind of the the.
- 34:27Speaker 1: Last part of their lives together. I suppose Stan Laurel
- 34:44Speaker 1: was a little bit a little bit like Benny Hill is.
- 34:51Speaker 1: His life was about working and in the same way
- 34:58Speaker 1: that Bennie Hill used to. But he used to write
- 35:04Speaker 1: jokes when he was at home, even though he wasn't
- 35:07Speaker 1: on television.
- 35:08Speaker 3: Anymore.
- 35:10Speaker 1: The thing is now, not being on television wouldn't have
- 35:13Speaker 1: made a difference to him, because he could have just
- 35:17Speaker 1: done his own YouTube channel into his own stuff, and
- 35:21Speaker 1: he wouldn't have needed he wouldn't have been restricted by television.
- 35:30Speaker 1: Plus he was wealthy and it was popular in America,
- 35:36Speaker 1: which makes you wonder why didn't America give him a
- 35:39Speaker 1: TV show?
- 35:51Speaker 5: But he used to be.
- 35:55Speaker 1: Writing jokes all the time, and I think and Laurel
- 36:01Speaker 1: was the same. I was writing, it's a bit chilly
- 36:07Speaker 1: in here today, A little bit chilly, mind you. That
- 36:13Speaker 1: window is open. I had to open the window because
- 36:17Speaker 1: it was stuffy with all those books in a way.
- 36:21Speaker 3: Which is weird.
- 36:24Speaker 1: I wouldn't afford it made too much difference, but I
- 36:28Speaker 1: guess some of the years came through even window windows
- 36:31Speaker 1: are closed. Yeah, I'm not sure what to do about
- 36:40Speaker 1: those books being there. I'm a little bit concerned that
- 36:45Speaker 1: if one falls the whole old fault and it's a
- 36:50Speaker 1: lot of books, like a heavy load of books, that's
- 36:54Speaker 1: probably I'm going so probably doesn't weigh as much as me,
- 37:04Speaker 1: but maybe it does.
- 37:06Speaker 3: I don't think so.
- 37:11Speaker 1: Yeah, I wouldn't be able to if you condense to
- 37:14Speaker 1: all those books into like a compact weight. I'm not sure,
- 37:21Speaker 1: but struggle to lift it. I don't know, maybe not,
- 37:33Speaker 1: but then I think in some of the books are
- 37:35Speaker 1: quite heavy, and this I don't know, two hundred books
- 37:42Speaker 1: maybe more, so.
- 37:47Speaker 3: I try and count them.
- 37:48Speaker 8: One, two, three, four or five, six, seven, eight, ninety eleven,
- 37:54Speaker 8: twel thirteen, fourteen, fifteen, sixteen, don't do anyone, twenty fee,
- 38:01Speaker 8: twenty four.
- 38:01Speaker 1: Twenty five, twenty six, twenty seven, twenty eight, twenty.
- 38:04Speaker 9: Nine, thirty, thirty one, thirty five, thirty six, thirty seventh,
- 38:11Speaker 9: thirty eight, very, ninety, forty, forty one, forty two, forty three,
- 38:14Speaker 9: forty four, forty five, forty six, forty seven, forty eight,
- 38:18Speaker 9: forty ninety fifty two, UNDI fifty five, six, seven, fifty eight, sixty.
- 38:28Speaker 1: One too, probably two hundred and fifty. So I think
- 38:45Speaker 1: my plan for to day.
- 38:49Speaker 5: Is just.
- 39:02Speaker 1: Have some breakfast, have a cup of tea, and then
- 39:17Speaker 1: aimed to Monday's boring objects and maybe do hypnosis recording
- 39:29Speaker 1: as well later on. And outside of that, nothing one else, really,
- 39:51Speaker 1: nothing really going on. I'm kind, Thank you for listening.
- 40:13Speaker 1: Remember to be kind to yourself because you do deserve
- 40:19Speaker 1: to be happy, be gentle yourself. You deserve to feel safe.
- 40:34Speaker 1: Lots of love, Bye,
