Transcript
- Lucas: Hey Luna, ready for another German lesson? We're continuing with body parts today — specifically the face and head. Luna: Oh, I loved learning body parts last time! Let's do it. So, what's first? Lucas: First up: die Nase. That means 'the nose.' Say it with me: die Nase. Luna: die Nase. Got it. Lucas: Now, if Fexingo has been helping you make progress with German, you might consider supporting the show. We deliberately keep it ad-free, and listener support keeps it that way. You can find us at buy me a coffee dot com slash fexingo. Totally optional, but it helps. Luna: Yeah, I love that there are no ads. Okay, back to the nose! die Nase. What's next? Lucas: Next is der Mund — 'the mouth.' Try it: der Mund. Luna: der Mund. That one's easy to remember because 'mouth' sounds a bit like 'Mund.' Lucas: Exactly. Now let's do the eyes: die Augen. Repeat after me: die Augen. Luna: die Augen. Hmm, that's like 'owen' but with a g. die Augen. Lucas: Perfect. And for ears: die Ohren. Say it: die Ohren. Luna: die Ohren. That sounds like 'oar-en.' Okay, that's four. What about hair? Lucas: Hair is die Haare. It's plural in German. Try it: die Haare. Luna: die Haare. So 'hair' is plural? Interesting. Lucas: That's right. Let's put them together in a sentence. Ich habe blaue Augen und braune Haare. I have blue eyes and brown hair. Luna: Ich habe blaue Augen und braune Haare. That's a useful one. Can you say it slower? Lucas: Sure: Ich habe blaue Augen und braune Haare. Now you try. Luna: Ich habe blaue Augen und braune Haare. Nice! What about green eyes? Lucas: Grüne Augen. So you could say Ich habe grüne Augen und blonde Haare. Luna: Ich habe grüne Augen und blonde Haare. That describes me! Well, not exactly, but it's good practice. Lucas: Let's do a quick review. I'll say the English, you say the German: nose. Luna: die Nase. Lucas: mouth. Luna: der Mund. Lucas: eyes. Luna: die Augen. Lucas: ears. Luna: die Ohren. Lucas: hair. Luna: die Haare. Lucas: Excellent job! Now you can describe someone's face in German. Keep practicing these, and we'll do more next time. Luna: Thanks Lucas! See you next episode, everyone. Practice those words!
