- PAC'd 12: Welcome to another episode of Pact Twelve, your favorite podcast for all things Pac Twelve and more. I'm Solomon Ash, joined by my two favorite co-hosts, Instagram Marcus, Brad Bierman to my left, Caden Besson to my right. And gentlemen, after Florida State SMU, we officially one week in the books for college football. How are we feeling today on this Labor Day? We did it. We did it, boys. We made it to football. And now we have we have games to break down, we have games to talk about. We finally made it. When we were sitting here in July. And we we were previewing previewing stuff. Like I never like it just never in my my wildest dreams thought that we'd be here sitting here talking about these games now. So we're we're here. We're ready. Let's go. A lot happened, but ⁓ yeah. Football's back. Let's just I saw everything this weekend. That's for sure. And before we get into football, a pack twelve news updates, I'm gonna throw it over to Kaden because he's the one who actually skimmed through the entire document they put out. But KD, what does the Pac twelve have for us? Yeah, I think it was Thursday or Friday of last week. ⁓ the Pac Twelve put out a article, just a bunch of news and updates and stuff like that. ⁓ basically all the home games that are on national television for the Pac twelve, whether it's on C B S, USA, or the CW, is gonna be produced by Pac Twelve Enterprises. So they're assisting these ⁓ national television programs, but they're also kind of getting their own hand in how they wanna show off their schools, right? So they get that. And we get Pac Twelve Field Pass. It's mic'd up moments. So ⁓ think about it, you know Haas Haney may be mic'd up during the game next week against Southern Utah and CBS and the Pac twelve will put a mic on him and then in the middle of the game they're gonna get that that audio and they're gonna produce it. The Pac twelve is gonna produce it mid game and then they're gonna give it to C B S and CBS is gonna play it mid game. That's gonna happen, I don't know, maybe only in conference play. ⁓ I didn't see it this weekend, especially on USA. I watched mostly the USA ones. ⁓ But if it's a home game, they're going to be doing that. They're going to be micing up coaches and players and they're going to produce it for in-game turnaround to bring fans and viewers closer to the live action, as they worded it specifically. ⁓ and then when there's replays during specifically Pac-12 games, I believe, ⁓ fans are going to be brought into the command center and the replay room during broadcast with an on-air rules expert. I didn't see who the on-air rules expert is gonna be, but they're gonna show you the replay room. We're gonna see the officials And how they're making the decision live. I think that's very similar to what the ACC does, right? Is it ACC? Yeah, I think so. We're gonna get something like that. ⁓ bowl game stuff. I didn't end up typing it out, but basically there's bowl games options and in the old Pac twelve and the new Pac twelve. Yeah, it's like legacy games, right? Yeah. ⁓ it's really confusing. But basically everyone's gonna have a chance to get a bowl game in this new league, which I don't think that was a worry anyways. ⁓ there's a bowl game in Hawaii that someone from this new pack twelve could be playing in. Bang. That would be sick. That'd be sick. Pac twelve to Hawaii. I love Hawaii bowl games. ⁓ then they sent out all the stuff about tiebreakers. That's really confusing. ⁓ read it for yourself. ⁓ there is a controversial call that either game ending or no call impacting result of game. The call involving significant error in a fishing mechanic. What the hell call involving error in rules is what? So basically what you're releasing is straight from the article So basically if there's a call that is at the end of a game or a no call at the end of the game, any type of really controversial game changing call happens like that, the Pac twelve will release a statement publicly no later than the end of the day following the game the call occurred. So in less than twenty four hours after the game, something like Western Michigan, Michigan, you're gonna get a statement from the Pac twelve if that was a Pac twelve conference game. I mean that's cool, but like I mean did that I don't know. It's it's to cover their ass. They're basically just telling us they're gonna cover their ass when it comes out. Yeah, basically. ⁓ so basically the also the Pac Twelve committee, this is another interesting thing. They have like a board of committee representatives. Each ⁓ I believe there's three on the main committee and the head guy. I should have looked up the actual name. ⁓ Kelly Dampf is president of Texas State. He is the guy for year one on this committee board. But everybody serves in a one year rotation starting this year. So K Damp. Probably won't get to do it for another seven or eight years. ⁓ wow. I think. Maybe maybe less, maybe like four years. But yeah, they're rotating around each school who serves on this board every year. So everyone's gonna get their own hand and it's just a matter of when you get picked. ⁓ and then the merch drops. We got a new Pac-12 after dark logo, new look for that. We got ⁓ shirts with your team colors with that after dark logo in black. Those are twenty nine ninety nine, I believe. And then we've got team gear with the pac twelve logo on the front. We got shirts and we've got hoodies that are in teen colors and with the logos on them as well. Hoodies, I believe, were forty nine ninety nine and the shirts were twenty nine ninety nine. I know some shirts were thirty two ninety nine. ⁓ and then they also dropped their own stuff with like the horizontal logo as well. ⁓ more merch. I didn't see the hats on there. I was pretty upset. I kinda want a hat. Yeah, I really wanted a hat. ⁓ and then they dropped the broadcast numbers through the first month or so ⁓ on YouTube. three thousand five hundred new subs on that YouTube channel, two hundred thousand total views and one point six million impressions. And I will add this because I got confirmation from a Texas State source that the Pac Twelve YouTube broadcasts are being monetized. Wow. So during a break why the first week and a half you saw a static screen that said like we'll be right back or something. No had the Pac twelve logo and some music. That still plays I can speak from a Texas State broadcast perspective, we put that on, but then someone for Pac Twelve Enterprises in their control room somewhere Is playing YouTube ads on top of that, and those YouTube ads are being monetized, put it into like one big pot and it's gonna be split. Love that. So I love that. It's free for you, but they're making money off of it. That's great. Yeah. Maybe not. Everyone wins, it sounds like. Yeah. Maybe not a lot of money, but th they're making money. And it just shows too that like the big controversy in sports, like over the past thirty years, is like, well, we don't need to put volleyball, soccer, all these other sports on TV. Nobody's gonna watch them. It's like, well, how do you know? That nobody's gonna watch them if they're not available to watch. And now that we're seeing a lot of people viewing these games, it the the the proof is in the pudding. People do want these games and people do want to watch them. I just don't think people like sports like that for real. Cause like one of my favorite things they do, like during a random day, like a sports like volleyball and soccer, they're like going on every other day. So when I'm cooking, I'm like, I'll put on the game and I'm like, I was watching Louisville, Texas yesterday, and Louisville swept them. Mm-hmm. And so I'm like Bro, y'all missing out. You're missing some good sports. Missing some great ball here, man. Speaking of great ball, do we just want to go right into football? Let's go. Can't wait anymore. Alrighty. Unfortunately, this wasn't very good ball. If you're a Fresno State fan, first game of the slate for week one of the new Pac twelve was a thirty nine of zero blowout against number fourteen USC. Just gonna throw it over to Brett. You had Fresno State with the upset. What happened here? What do you think happened? So ⁓ what do you think? They played the fourteenth ranked team in the country in USC, ⁓ and a potential Heisman winner, Jane Mayava. So potential. Yeah, look, he looked really good too, and I don't know if that if that is indicative of Fresno State or how good USC's gonna be this year. It's whatever. But I will say so I was having a sleepover with my son that night, so I kinda had eyes on, eyes off this game as much as I could. ⁓ I will say for the time I had on in that first quarter, I thought Fresno State's front seven was terrific. I was like, wow, USC can't buy a rushing yard right now. They're Kayvon Thunderbird. I heard his name so many times, just stuffing the running back up the middle or on the outside. It was what a name. Ivan Thunderbird. Yeah, and he led the team in tackles, and I'm pretty sure he had he led the team in tackles for loss as well. I'll look at that later. But so so as we kind of go through these games, we're gonna look for silver lining in a lot of them because, you know, that's all we can do with some of these teams, right? The silver lining here is that their defense despite letting up thirty nine points to a really good offense, I still thought it showed flashes of being really, really good. Now, the other side of the ball, the offense. This is where I'm gonna panic a little bit. Jaden Mendal did not look good. ⁓ seven for fifteen, seventy seven yards and an interception. Poor dude got sacked five times. I yeah, and I understand like the O line didn't help him out at all. But I I just from the first drive just didn't feel the confidence in him. Like to go out there and and lead them down the field and I think they had plenty of chances too. I don't know, man. I just it's USC, right? So you take it what you can. ⁓ and they also scored twenty three of their thirty nine points in just the second quarter alone. So they kinda it kinda front loaded it all in that second quarter and I don't know. I I think it'll be better next week. They play Sacks State at home. They are the seventeen and a half point favorites. So we'll see. Obviously like I said, take it with the grain. We're gonna have to with some of these teams, but what are your guys' thoughts on on Fresno week one? ⁓ Twenty nine total rushes, seventy four total yards. That's good for two point five yards a rush. Three yards in a cloud of dust, man. That's all you need. ⁓ he Christian Martin did come in at various points too. He just didn't throw the ball at Christian Martin did not throw the ball, but he did come in a couple times. Says he has a rushing attempt for two yards. ⁓ may have been evading some pressure right there. ⁓ Kavion Thunderbird did lead the team in tackles total with nine. ⁓ everyone else is seven or less. I don't see ⁓ tackle for loss. He had two tackles for loss. There you go. Yep. That is the most on the team as well. ⁓ yeah, that front seven, yeah, but I didn't watch too much of this game, but I did just peep the scoreboard and I was like, Man, not looking good. ⁓ Matt Int said it pretty plainly that they they've just gotta be better. That was terrible showing for ⁓ and that's pretty much the entire league. This week. Yeah, the Pac twelve has got a lot of explaining to do after this week. They got embarrassed and whooped this week. If there's any American fans out there listening, like, you know, congrats. You're up one. Until next week. Moving on to the next game, Oregon State, ticket out number twenty three, team of the led Houston. It was actually a very good game for the majority of it. Ended up being a thirty three to twenty Houston win. But I mean, Malik Murphy, see you later. It's Brady Atkinson's time and he put out a clinic in the lo despite the loss, twenty nine for forty eight, th almost three hundred and fifty yards and one touchdown. I mean what a game Oregon State. We had really dope expectations for this squad. But I mean they came out here and I mean we did kinda have thoughts of Houston be maybe slightly overrated, but I mean we didn't think Oregon State was gonna look this good at all. I think that there's only one other team I'm putting in the category with Oregon State this week as winners of the Pac twelve, even though they lost, I think This is huge for Oregon State. It didn't get easier for him this week. But Jesse Legree learned the name, number twelve for Oregon State. Five catches, hundred and thirty six yards and a tud. Long of seventy one. I mean, i if you throw it to twelve, things were looking good. Braden Atkinson looked amazing. ⁓ I thought they did a really good job. That secondary clearly struggled against a top twenty five offense. I mean, Connor Wegman had three hundred and five yards and only ten incompletions. So they got home a couple of times. They didn't get hurt once or twice. Yeah. I I think The defense showed flashes. The offense certainly showed that it can compete. I mean, this was a game where they knew they were gonna have to try to keep up with Houston's offense and they didn't do a bad job. Three hundred and seventy six yards in the air for Braden Atkinson, twenty nine for forty eight. Who would have guessed that he would have thrown the ball almost fifty times? That's a lot. And did really well too. Three hundred and forty eight yards and and only one touchdown is what kind of shocked me there. But yeah, you you said it already, Jesse League, true freshman, man, he's gonna be a stud in college sports. Yeah, genuinely. I mean, true freshmen coming in almost doing all this in their very first game. I mean, come on. I mean, this could just shows the potential for the Jamarcus Shepherd era. I mean, they have him playing like this against a top twenty five team in the country. And the defense did look a lot better too. I didn't d I didn't think they were gonna hold Houston down for that many for that long of the game, then Houston just kinda became too much. They are Houston at the end of the day. But Oregon State, I mean How many ways do we think they could possibly escape this season if they continue looking like this? I think they can win them. I think they can make a ball game at least, right? I think just right off the And and and and I'm not say I just don't wanna overreact week one, right? That's fair, that's fair. Where like like I don't wanna put them like in the top four or five and just be like, Wow, I really think Oregon State's gonna ball out this year when maybe they it's just possible they had a really good game against Houston. I don't think that's the case. I think they are a really good team. Braden Atkinson, by the way, only a sophomore. Yeah. So they got some young guys that they're gonna build off of. Jamal She sorry, Jamar Shepard's got got a good team that he's he's building there in in in Oregon. Yeah, I think going off of just what was on paper and then Knowing that they went two and ten last year, new coach, new system, new everything, new quarterback. You didn't really expect them to win maybe but three games. But now the way ⁓ Utah State played this week, ⁓ Texas State played this week, Oregon State kind of has got some favor i in their hands here for what they can do when conference player runs around. But super excited to watch the Beavers the rest of the year because they showed a lot of improvement already in the Shepherd era. Mm-hmm. So moving on to the next game. We all watched this one. It was our game of the week, but you know. I was in the stadium for this game. You were. Texas State, take it out number five. Texas, it was a blowout fifty nine of seven. I believe probably the worst one of the Next game, please. Yeah, we gotta talk about a little bit, 'cause it'd be Brad Jackson still did look good, but some silver lining, right? Some silver lining. Yeah. I think Texas State is really good still. I think this game is gonna really deter a lot of people and it's it's gonna constantly be in the back of their minds the rest of this week. I think UTSA at home this week against ⁓ nothing against UTSA, probably a way worse defense than Texas. Everything against them. Yeah, honestly everything against them. And and UTSA is the one and a half point favorite as of right now going into the game. Stupid. The before the Texas game, I thought this or sorry, maybe it was just slightly after, but the first line of odds that came out, they had Texas State favored at one and a half. Then they flipped it to U T S A. So I don't know if maybe they saw something that we didn't if maybe there's something with this Texas State team that we're we don't know. What if Will Windham isn't exactly what if he's Dexter McCool two point ⁓ we don't know. And that's g it's g it sucks, right? 'Cause like we we saw it and we can't really take anything from it. Like I I I feel like I don't know anything different than I knew before the game kickoff Saturday. So I don't know. I guess it's just gonna be a waiting game again till this week and However they play against UTSA, I think will define the season. Yeah, I think Texas showed that they're better than number five in the country this week. ⁓ they're gonna prove it against Ohio State this week. That's a team that could very well find themselves at least in the college football playoff semifinals. Texas looks amazing. ⁓ you think of their twenty plus million dollar budget to Texas State's one to three million dollar budget. Yeah, they're gonna have the talent to go win fifty nine to seven the way that they did. ⁓ Brad Jackson did look good. He only had eight incompletions and I I know for a fact two to three of those were thrown away. he looked really good early in the game, getting his guy both Sparks and Chris Dawn involved. The fact that Chris Dawn Jr. had four catches in week one has me super optimistic about him. Took them a while to get him going last year, so he's finding him early and often. ⁓ those Texas corners at secondary struggled covering Sparks and Don one on one. That tells you something of what those guys bring to the table. But that that defense got absolutely cooked. Absolutely cooked. Ryan Wingo, seven for one, twenty one in a tud. ⁓ Cam Coleman, of course, is Cam Coleman. Hollywood Smothers just ran it down their throw. Arch had his way with everything. He only had seven incompletions. ⁓ and then the only thing I want to mention is that Dylan Coonanen, the kicker, pack your bags, buddy. You do not need to be here anymore. You missed twenty four yards and thirty-five yards. Twenty four yard field goal. I don't care. If you're at DKR and there's a hundred thousand people screaming in your face, you can't miss that kind of chip shot. Not at all. Yeah, no, I hundred percent agreed. That I almost forgot about it 'cause I try to like block it out of my memory. But yeah, as soon as the he missed that kick to that would have made it like three to fourteen. Nothing too crazy. It would have kept the game alive for Texas. And it without points. And it felt just so demoralizing. Like it was one of those games that felt like, ⁓ everything that will go wrong went wrong. Went wrong. And it did. You just gotta put it behind you. And now you got U T S A at home. You haven't lost to U T S A in two years. U TSA knows that. And that's probably why. They got that And they had a way different week one than than Texas State did. They they beat the crap out of their opponent. UT RGB did score sixteen on them though. That's fair. That's fair. That's a very carefully victory. Little victories. But also one more thing about the Bobcats real quick before we move on. Tucker Cusano, a freshman receiver from Dallas, ⁓ he led the team in in receiving yards, obviously with fifty eight three receptions. He did get a lot of He looked touchy. He looked pretty good. I I th I I don't I didn't know much about him coming into this season or really anything. Blown away watching him get much rap. I I think he's he's really good. He could be like that gr next up 'cause I mean so sparks at dawn are done after this year. He can be like the wide receiver three down, takes that step next year. Yeah, and he's and he's gonna get big plays this year. So just just look out for him as the year goes on. All righty. Well that's enough about that game. Let's talk about a game that was actually really good that featured a top two team of the country, Boise State, Oregon in Eugene. Outside Stadium. Oregon took it down thirty four twenty seven. Needed to score late in the fourth quarter to get away from Boise. If Boise still had chance, but I mean, we just gotta say from all behalf of the Pac twelve, we apologize to Boise State. Sorry, guys. We were stupid. We try to be woke and sometimes it's just the brand is the brand for a reason. Yeah, the woke mine virus got to all of us. We're very sorry, guys. We didn't you know, we we bit the Maddox Madsen, is he good bait? ⁓ very sorry about that. They are very Even despite the loss, they're they look so complete as it's Yeah, they're by far and away the best team in the Pac twelve. I'm I'm okay with admitting that now. I don't I don't have any any guff or grief with that. Yeah, they proved it this week. ⁓ they've always played Oregon really well. They actually had only lost to Oregon once, ⁓ over the four times they played each other all time. So I I guess I should have looked at that. ⁓ I didn't hear anybody talking about that until after the fact or like right before the game. Mm-hmm. ⁓ all those games decided by eleven or less. This one they showed the last one was the Jansey one where Oregon just won by a field goal. Yeah. And Matson, three touchdowns. I mean, he didn't have a lot of yards. They did a lot of, you know, short completions. ⁓ Sire Gaines, forty yards, Dylan Riley, fifty one yards. ⁓ it wasn't a bad day for the Broncos. I I what happened that I thought was gonna happen, happened. ⁓ they just run out of gas at the end defensively and That Oregon offense would be just a little too much. ⁓ Dante Moore, three hundred and seventy-eight yards, three tuds. ⁓ of course. ⁓ I think Oregon is probably not as good as number two, even though ⁓ Boise is who they are and they played him really well. I think Oregon's a little bit overranked right now. Like I think a Texas is gonna beat in Oregon when it comes down to it. But really good showing for the Broncos. They they are also another team actually that is a winner, even though they lost this week. And ⁓ someone to just kind of spotlight on their defense, Jerico Washington, their corners, their ⁓ tran we've mentioned him a few times, their transfer from Kennesaw. Had a few ⁓ pass deflected. I thought he played awesome. I I really I I really think that he i if if I put him out there with the rest of that defense and I said, Hey, find me the best player on this defense ⁓ today, I think you I think everyone in this room would point at Jericho or Jer yeah, Jerico Washington, sorry, ⁓ for that. He is I think as right now the best ⁓ D B in the Pac twelve. Yeah, it's that's not and that's not ridiculous to say at all. That defense, like they forced a turnover against the number two team in the country. That's the reason they really kept him in with so few offensive yards compared to Oregon, is that they were able to make him uncomfortable, get home on Dante Moore a couple of times as well. Hey, Jaden Virgin Morgan, only two tackles though. Yeah, kind of a quiet day for him. My guy Bowen Phelps. ⁓ Tarico, I'm sorry, not Tarico. And this other D, Travis Anderson, had eight solo tackles. That's insane. And a TFEO. Boy, he's just flying everywhere. And that should be interesting to see how they take this bimp. I also wanted to shout out. We talked about freshman of the year potentially. Rashawn Jones also had a great debut, four catches for 76 yards. I believe he had a crazy catch against Oregon as well. Yeah, we were we were first on him. Well maybe not, but maybe not. But Boise State taking this next game into Memphis. We talked about how big this was. Nate Gatter especially pointed out how big this game is for the Pac-12. And with how Boise's looking, I mean, they're opening up as seven and a half point fares, and I think that's valid. Yeah, as of right now, I I would have a hard time not picking them, but also Memphis is really good as well. Memphis did look pretty good. Charles Huff is a good coach. Memphis is another really complete team. They're they kind of remind me of Boise a little bit where it's just Like like every everything about them is just complete and they seem to have answers for everything. So it's it's gonna be a great game. That's that's my game of the week that I will be eyes will be glued to the TV for that. Yeah. I mean Nate's gonna be on the call with Ryan Lee too for that one. You know, we'll be tuned in. I enjoyed listening to him for the Colorado State game as well. Speaking of Nate Gatter, him and Ryan Lee got to see the Colorado State take down former Mountain West rivals. Wyoming thirty five to thirteen in a rivalry game. I forgot the exact name of the rivalry, but the trophy It's just the border war, right? Yep. Border War. Battle for the boot, border war. Battle for the boot, that's right. Trophy was fire. But shout out the Rams, man. Don't sleep on them. Don't sleep on these Rams. This was a little bit of a tricky game. Caden was kinda talking me into like Wyoming kinda maybe. I was thinking like at like right before the game was like, Man, maybe I should have took Wyoming. You were right up until the fourth quarter, man. Who would have thought? That the first win of the new Pac twelve era would be Colorado State. I mean it happens when Haas Haney throws goes twenty three for thirty three, two hundred yards, and five touchdowns. And I understand there's a team, ⁓ in the Pac twelve that put a fifty this week. I don't think there's a better performance this week than Colorado State. I think I don't think either of you guys will disagree. I understand San Diego State, great week against Portland State, but man, Colorado State, I I think maybe we kinda undersold them a little bit. I remember talking to Nate where Ryan Leaf was saying that Look out for ⁓ basically. Like they're not going to be as bad as people think. And I I think maybe with Jim Orham, the UConn transfers that they had, maybe we should have seen that coming. But I did. I saw that. I'm glad you saw it. Hey, man. That's ⁓ I'm happy for you. But it's it it was a great game. Colorado State's gonna be a problem. ⁓ I I I think they are in the tier now where instead of middle of the pack, they are maybe up there with like the second tier of teams that aren't like Boise, obviously, but like San Diego State. At the moment, I'd probably say they're like top three in the conference. I agree. Yeah. I yeah, I would maybe say Boise San Diego State than Colorado State. Yeah, and what Colorado State did very well is they were disciplined. Four penalties for thirty six yards on the day. That's what Jim Moore does with his team's best. He coaches them well and they limit stuff like that. They don't turn the ball over very well. ⁓ he waited till everything started. Haas Haney though, he's the starter. I kind of assumed that it would be that, but they waited until the game started and played very well in the favor. Good decision by Mora. Love the fact that they rushed the field. They hadn't won the first game of the season in nine years. That's awesome. They they deserve that. New conference, new coach, new era. I mean, why not? I mean, this is what college football's about. There's a student section that deserves to storm the field. Yeah, man. The only guy that I want to highlight, just because he's from Texas, and he only got one touch. I don't know why. Cedric Ross, the true freshman from Lubbeck Estacado, he got the first touchdown of the game on a six yard completion. On a read option fake just right into the flats. Cedric Ross is a damn fast dude, man. He yeah, his first ever collegiate touch was a touchdown. It was a first touchdown of the game, and he never saw a touch again after that. I don't know why. But he didn't record a rush. He has a running back. ⁓ they seem to have had plenty of guys working in that running back room. But I'm just saying if there's an injury or something, watch out for Cedric Ross. I like how they use him in the past game. He's a very quick dude. And Colorado State has some weapons. They are the winners of the week though by by far. I will say too one more player to to highlight RJ Vick receiver, senior receiver. He the the separation he gets from these D Bs is insane. I think he is he he's gonna be a late round NFL pick. Three touchdowns. He's awesome. I he's he is really good. Him and Haas Haney that connection is already looking really, really good. That's gonna be a great duo. That first game where he gets over a hundred is going to be insane. Also wanna say it's not a pack twelve episode before Kate shouts out Saredo Texas High School. I feel like it happens every time. Yep, right right on schedule. Next game though, a team that didn't have quite the same luck. In fact, probably the saddest performance of this opening week one, even though a team lost at fifty two, is Utah State against Idaho State. Utah State and the new Bronco yeah, second year under Bronco Bedded Hall at home loses twenty nine of seventeen to an FCS school. I mean I didn't think they were. Yeah, to a l to a team that has a logo that looks like it was made by AI. McKay. Probably the worst logo I've ever seen. Hillstead looked terrible. He did. Three interceptions. He looked really bad. I don't know if he's gonna be the starter all year long with a performance like that against FCS school. He didn't finish the game. Nope. They brought in ⁓ Grady Brosterhouse. Who also didn't play very well. He played terrible. Pick your poison, I guess. Yeah, and it's like their running back had twenty carries, only had eighty yards, so that's only four yards. But that's the best performance of the of the Of of the team. I guess maybe beside D. Ly Wood at receiver, but man, like not really much good to say. I have I have no silver lining with Utah. This is gonna be a bad year for them. Yeah, I mean I don't know how you could think otherwise. I mean, this is this is a game that you get the crowd fired up. It's like, you know, you get a couple wins here. I guess a couple tune up game. Yeah. Exactly, right? And they got outclassed. They they lost by double thousand they probably paid Idaho State to beat up Exactly. ⁓ yeah, they paid them paid them to come there. Yeah. Give them like a little like a hundred K. Yeah. I yeah, at first I was thinking maybe Oregon State, Colorado State at the bottom. Now it's Utah State. They're at the bottom right now. ⁓ you can either look at this one of two ways though. You can look at it week by week or wait 'til we get to conference play and start measuring things like a normal person. But if we're taking a week by week, Utah State, they suck, they're dead last. They might not win a game in conference play. They might not. It's not our job to be rational and take it when conference play starts. It's our job to be irrational. This is a podcast. So yeah, we will take it week by week and overreact a little bit. This is overreaction Monday. Come on. Yeah, man. What when else? And it's not gonna get any easier for them. They got y Washington in Husky Stadium next week. And I'm surprised his line is only twenty six and a half. They'll lose by fifty. ⁓ yeah. Of course I'll be wrong about that or something. Didn't we say that the ⁓ Utah State spread against Idaho State was free. It was like twenty and a half. It was very low. They knew something. And Idaho was one by twelve. That's hilarious. ⁓ my god. Love this conference. Next up, another Pac twelve team that got the dub. This time they actually beat an SCS school. San Diego State took down Portland State fifty three to twenty. It was a took a while to really get it going. That first quarter was kind of slow, but eventually they just ran him over and Shallow San Diego State, Jay Dedigal to his a start for the season, four Michigan bad, twelve for seventeen, almost a four one forty yards, two touchdowns and a pick. Lucky Sutton, not too many yards, only fifty eight, but three touchdowns. Shout out JV and Kennard, he had eight carries and seventy nine yards, so you know. Good running back room, but Lucky Sutton, not too impressive so far. No, not ⁓ you're you're right, not very impressive. Eighteen eighteen carries, fifty eight yards is sad. I don't care if it's I don't care how many touchdowns it is, like you can't you can't squeak by with that every week, especially when you when you're playing UCLA next week, right? Like this is ⁓ But either way, they still played really good. Javion Kennard obviously had eight eight carries, eighty yards, and he had I think he had that big run at the beginning of the game, right? That got them their first touchdown. Yeah. So he and I thought Jane Dinnigal, despite the stats being a little, you know, low, lackluster, I thought he still played really well. Commanded that offense really well. There's not really much you can do against a team like Portland State where it's like Yeah, he's not gonna flash like three, four hundred yards because they're just I mean, th they're just a ground and pound team. So yeah. You gotta take what you can get. Yeah, great week. There's not much to say about that. They did what they were supposed to do, unlike a lot of other teams. Mm-hmm. And though we'll see what they're able to do against UCLA. UCLA had a good game against Cal to close out Saturday night. That'll be fun. They're on the road too. Yeah. They're gonna be Id Pasadena. Eleven and a half point favorite the Bruins open up as Bob Chesney and close. That's a pretty close line. I think that's too close. U C L A had a really good fourth quarter. Lucky Sug could kinda lock in and he can play like how he did last year. I mean the sky's the limit. Yeah. Honestly. I will sub I'm not gonna s not gonna lie though, this defense given a twenty to Portland State where defense was like a really big focal point for them. That's the only thing I really have concerns about. Other than other than that, it's like that's week one. I mean they gave up fourteen in the second half when they were Up what, twenty nine to six? Yeah. So I I'll give ⁓ leeway, I guess, defensively. Yeah, it's garbage time, right? Like but the stats still show up on the score sheet no matter what. So right, it it sucks to see it either way. But I will be fine. One thing I noticed about San Diego State, it says their attendance was just under twenty seven thousand. When that game started, man, there may have been eight thousand people there or less. It was it was pretty empty. Can I can I say though, as Devil's advocate And like I love college football. I'm a sicko. Obviously, I would be a person in that stadium. I think I don't think e either of you two would I think you two would be there with me as well, but it's San Diego. It's literally probably a top five place in the world to live. So like And they're playing Portland State, I know. But so yeah, i it but but but you know, I understand though too, it's like they're a really good team. They need people to show up for them, right? Like that's that's just Especially when conference play starts. Exactly. And I think they will too, right? But but again, it's San Diego. Right, like it's yeah. It's always kinda tricky whenever those big schools like UCLA, USC, like they're in genuinely LA. Right, they're not really that good anymore. So like their attendance kinda mid. But then like I watch Berkeley, UCLA, and Berkeley's crowd was packed out. Great crowd. Hey. It's a shame they didn't perform with it. Colorado State had forty thousand five hundred and forty six people in Fort Collins. And they all stormed that field. I think I think I think maybe when we were talking this off season about going back to Colorado State. We were talking about their NIL, how much money they they were the top spending program, I think, in the Pac twelve. Jim Mora. I cannot believe with all those factors that we weren't like a little higher on them. I know you were solo, but I I'm just more hitting on myself really. It's 'cause like I I was high on them, but even then I had ⁓ capped out like six games and they could still very well only win six games as it it did take a little bit to get past Wyoming. But yeah, in hindsight it does seem like they d really did invest in this and they're really believing in the Jim Mora Junior era. And it's off to a great start. I mean, winning their first season opener in nine years, but I mean, like we said, it is week one, so we are overreacting a little bit and we seen a lot of teams. Football's a long season. We seen teams that go like start out like four and ⁓ and then they lose they finish this season like four to eight. Yeah. And only three teams played at home this week. So I just off the top of my head, or I just had the idea to look at who had the most attendance between Utah State, San Diego State, and Colorado State. It was twenty thousand ⁓ seven hundred and twenty three for Utah State. ⁓ I imagine there's probably about five thousand there in the fourth quarter. ⁓ twenty s right under twenty seven thousand for San Diego State and then Colorado State. Was a rivalry game, so they probably have some advantage there. But still forty thousand? Five hundred forty six. That's a wrestling. We were missing one. There was a hundred thousand people at DKR to see Texas State this weekend. No, no, no, no. Home games only. Home games only. Four years, not a home. Not planned. All righty, last game of the slate. This one. Yesterday the Apple Cup between Washington and Wazoo. Twenty four to ten, kind of a snooze burner. But Caden Penny looked good. That's that's my main takeaway is that Caden Pennick is here. That's about it. I I yeah, I agree with that. ⁓ little be desired on the offense. Ton of room for improvement. ⁓ but there's still hope. Like you said, I I think if you're looking at that stat line, you're gonna see those two interceptions. You have to remember that one of them came at the end where You know, they were trying to drive the ball downfield and score, right? So like mistakes like that are gonna be made when you're desperate, right? So I I I immediately take one interception off there. On his feet, Caden Pennick couldn't be stopped. Like he he he looked like a he looked like Derrick Henry out there. First play of the game. I was That's what I was saying. Literally that very first play, I was like, ⁓ man, he's not taking no prisoners. He's nice on his feet and he's got a really good arm too. I think Washington, their defense is just better than what their offense is. ⁓ Again, take take what you want with Washington. We gotta take everything with a grain, right? But like and I keep saying that, I'm sorry, but yeah, I don't know. I think Wazoo's gonna be a little bit better than what the the score showed. ⁓ their defense hung in there all game until the fourth quarter. I mean, they only had it was a ten to nothing game going into the fourth quarter. We're we're talking about a totally different game here if the offense plays as well as their defense did. The thing is for Washington State, they've got to figure out how to run the ball with anybody other than Caden Pinnock. He led the team in rushing yards with seventy nine on fourteen attempts. Nobody else had more than twenty yards on the ground. That's not okay. No, not good. And the other pick for Pennick, ⁓ it it was tipped at the line. That's great defense by the defensive line. I'm not gonna hate on him for that one either, though I did see where he was trying to throw the ball. He was probably getting picked anyways. He was throwing it into double coverage on a deep end. So you know, but yeah, ⁓ Daniel Blood looked pretty impressive, I thought. I was that was one of the guys I previewed. ⁓ he he led the team in yards and receptions, five for fifty seven, long thirty two. So ⁓ yeah, we'll we'll see what happens with Washington State. I think through the first three quarters though, they look like a team that can hang in there with a lot of other people as well. Like I think they can take Boise to the fourth quarter. I agree. And if anything, that kinda shows I mean Washington just we kinda were low on them already. I was low on Damon Williams. I'm very low on them after this game. Yeah, I may as well. They're gonna they're gonna win their next few games. Obviously 'cause they have a pretty favorable schedule, but I don't think people should be as high on Damon Williams as they as they once were. I saw all the LSU fans saying, like, ⁓ man, we dodged a bullet. Sam Levit looked awesome. I will say Washington State really should have found a way to win that game. Low key. No, unfortunately. I'm looking at the penalties. Washington had twelve for 130 yards. Washington State had six for fifty. It was a really bad game for Washington. I'm trying to look at mistakes and Washington Probably made more b maybe besides the interceptions. But man, ⁓ that's one Wazoo probably wants back. It's a it's really tough to have a rivalry like the Apple Cup week one though. Yeah. Yeah, a game usually played later in the year. It's usually played on rivalry week, like the last week of the season. It's a rivalry. Yeah. And it's like it it it does suck it's week one now, but I mean at least they still played. I saw someone bring up the point that like we don't see Oregon, Oregon State anymore. We're not seeing US C Notre Dame anymore. There's so many like rivalry games that like We're not seeing so I'm fine with the Apple Cup being week one if we could just see it still. I enjoyed it. I enjoyed it a lot. I love the broadcast presentation. It looked beautiful out there and it was a fun game. That stadium is beautiful. It just happens to be in Seattle, which sucks, but that that was a fun that was a really fun game, I think, even though it was kind of a snoozer. But if you like defense, that w that was definitely one to watch. And then Wazoo next week, they still got a little bit of a challenge. They were going to Kansas State. Kansas State opens up as a seventeen and a half favorite. I can't lie. I don't I'm not ever since last year I'm not too big on Kansas State. Kansas put up seventy points this week one, right? Against an FCS team? Probably. I low key did not pay attention to the big twelve all that much this week. Yeah, I think Avery Johnson had a pretty good week. Let me look but Avery Johnson. Yeah, I think maybe that's what's kind of doing that spread a little bit. Maybe I mean we'll see. But I don't think they I don't think that's I don't think they're they probably cover that. Washington State. They definitely covered. Yeah, whether they win or not, they cover seventeen and a half. Like I I mean, Washington came in as a twenty three and a half point favorite, right? And then they come in only winning by fourteen and that and that four and fourteen of those points came in the fourth quarter, right? Man, I should have bet the spread is at a money line. Yeah, I I bet the over. So Man We're all losing. Just looking at the weekend as a whole though, two and six as a conference, ⁓ what, four ranked teams? Four ranked ⁓ teams playing. Yeah. ⁓ against Paxwell schools and all of them had their way really besides Oregon. A loss to an FCS school, ⁓ a shut out US CM Fresno. That was that was a bad weekend. That's a bad way to start it. But I will say there was a bunch of really tough matchups in there. I'm not gonna We had I I was talking to Sparty, ⁓ guy we had on last week, ⁓ that obviously you guys know that, but for the listeners, ⁓ Sparty came on last week and and then I was talking to him over this past weekend and he was talking to me how worried he is about the Pac twelve and how maybe it's not as strong as he once thought. Yeah. And I told him like, Hey brother, chill out. It's week one. And like there was four ranked opponents on that schedule. Like the Apple Cup, Wazoo still played I think as well as they could have. Maybe the offense obviously maybe a little better. I think this conference is still really good. I think it's just gonna maybe take time. It we gotta work work the stuff out, and then by conference play we'll we'll have we'll know who's on top, and I think there will be a pretty good handful of teams at the top. With how week one looks, it kind of looks like it's gearing, at least the first maybe couple of years is looking like to be really kind of top heavy. Like I could definitely see Boise and then how ⁓ Colorado State looked, they probably compete. If Texas State can figure out their defense, I think they can compete. And then even then a couple other schools like Saint Diego State are in line to compete as well. But I do agree. I think it's gonna take a while for the other schools to kind of catch up. Like the bottlefields are going to be really bad. Utah State might not win more than three games this year. Fresno State also looked pretty rough, not gonna lie. The offense there's a lot of questions a lot more questions than we thought than just a quarterback. But I I don't I'm not too too worried, even though it was pretty rough of a showing. I think week two they just they gear up, but I think they have a lot better batch of I think so too. I didn't watch the American this weekend, but I imagine they probably had a better weekend than this. Toledo. They're not even in the American. I was thinking Tulsa. Sorry, Tulsa. Tulsa beetle mistake. Yeah, that's what I meant. I meant Tulsa, not Toledo. I was thinking about the Rock. But yeah, American looks stronger than the Pac twelve right now. but we'll see. There's a long way to go. Boys in Memphis is the beginning of that road. Hey. Yeah, it's And then it's followed by Texas State U TSA. We got two Pac twelve teams playing American schools this week, and they better go two and ⁓ Today battery. I had one more thing I wanted to talk about with this week in the games that I didn't get to in the Texas State game, sorry. I'm also a little worried about their running back room. Yeah. That is ⁓ everybody is five nine and lower besides one guy six one. That's a problem. Yeah, it's I don't know, man. I just I I get it tech I'll say it I'll say it again and I'll say it till I die. It's Texas. I get that. You can take it with as as much as you want. That running back room scares me. I think almost as much as that defense does. Because if if they can't air it out, if they can't if they don't have like a guy like Lincoln Perry they can lean on or Greg Brell's not on the team anymore, you have Jalen Jenkins and Torrance Burgess that you're leaning on now. Jalen Jenkins did look pretty all right though. Yeah. Against the top five defense in the country. Yeah, I guess as good as you can. I don't know. Maybe I'm just maybe I'm just overreacting. I think that's our job. The thing that I really know is Like the running game wasn't that good, but it had its moments. I think what really made it look as bad as it was is that for some reason when like they were Texas was really starting to pile it on, Kenny would like begin every drive, like the first two plays was a run up the middle. Yeah. And it would get like stuffed or two yards. That's what really made it look bad, 'cause the fact that he didn't want to air it out when they when you were in an obvious passing scenario. He overthought a lot of things, I think. Yeah, I think that's I think this is how he is. He's a young coach and he Look, I'll be honest with you. Yeah, he's gotten three bowl games in the last three years, all wins, all winning seasons, beaten the rival twice. But I will say there's always a few points every year where we're like, Kenny, why did you go for it on fourth down, or yeah, why did why did you do this? Why did you do that? There's always stuff like that. He's a great coach, but it he's obviously a young coach. We see it all the time. Right. I was gonna I was gonna in less nicer words, just say like he makes a lot of bonehead decisions, but like you said, young coach, it just comes with it. I do wanna say we didn't mention it earlier, but Caden was talking about the broadcast and the USA overall. How did we fe I really liked the presentation of USA's broadcast and the graphics they did for the games. I think it's great. I it gave me like what what did I say, really C B S vibes, like low key, but it didn't look like the C B S. Mm-hmm. It had its own feel. I really love the intro animation with all the teams. That came out like right before ⁓ week one officially started. ⁓ I thought the talent was great. ⁓ I thought Lauren Green, Ryan Leaf, Nate sound really well for that Colorado State game. ⁓ I thought the San Diego State game was fun to to watch as well from that perspective. And then we got, you know, after the Colorado State game, they sent us to the studio. And what did they do? Exactly what Nate said. They talked about the Pac twelve. That I love that. I 'cause studio looked great too. I was watching games on ESPN this weekend and we go to halftime and we're talking about LSU and Clemson and it hadn't even started yet. We're talking about the SEC and I'm like Really? I don't give a damn. Tell me about the teams that are just played. Yeah. Like they did they did that with Houston, Oregon State. I'm like, I don't really care right now. Like that's what college game day just did for three hours. Right? That's my I Big Noon kickoff. You're not a big noon kickoff guy? ⁓ I didn't even know where they were at this week. They were at Indiana, but I didn't even know that. And no, I'm not a fan. ESPN had a really shitty weekend. FYI. Yeah, I agree. I had a terrible weekend. Yeah, I I I think I'm out on game day now. Yeah. Unfortunately. ⁓ But USA looked great. I'm excited to see the CW do a Pac twelve game, though I will say, I think I told you solo they haven't been promoting the Pac twelve at all. Yeah, low key. I didn't realize how many What's that about? I don't know. I mean CW is just kind of a jank network. I mean, we saw the AI graphics. I was pretty pissed Yeah, it's true they didn't I was pretty pissed that we got some slop when they announced that the C W is having games, but I'll give them a chance for sure. They better not put no AI. They've got some good talent in the booth for the CW. They do they got some they do got some good people in there. Now they're broadcasting their presentation, maybe not as good. USA is gonna win that by far. Yeah. ⁓ hopefully USA just kinda runs away with it as the Pac twelve just goes on. I I think they will too. Yeah. They they did a great job, week one. They're they're the winners of the Pac twelve this week. Honestly that work. All right. Well that's week one. We're gonna shift over to week two now. Predictions, picks as well. I'm just gonna ring it off. I mean, might as well. First game of the slate. Is Washington State, Kansas State in Kansas and it's eleven AM. How we feeling about this one? Kansas State. ⁓ really? I'm kinda torn right here 'cause I really don't I I feel like okay, we sh we should make a deal here. Everyone picks an upset every week. Yeah. Yeah. Pick least one upset. Okay. Let me look at the slate again then and and and get back to you. ⁓ but if I'm being honest right here, I am gonna have to go Kansas State. That that running game looked terrible. For Washington State. So yeah, I'll go K State here week two. I got mine. ⁓ I got the same one. I know we do. I know we I might double down. I think we all do. I think we might I think I might double down the Ken and Pennicolade. I think if that defense plays as good as it did against Washington State, I think Avery Johnson could easily get messed up at force a couple turnovers. I like it. Give me the coux. If they were playing in Washington, I might be riding with you, but they're in Kansas and that's a problem. So maybe I don't know. TNT game, eleven A. ⁓ I like it. I like that too. Once they show me they can run the ball, I'll go back to picking them. Yeah, that's fair. I I will say too, even them starting O and two, they still have very good chance they can win the pack twelve, by the way. I th think people are gonna get discouraged when they see the O and two. They have a terrible non con sleek. They play two big twelve schools in Washington. Yeah, sucks. Yeah, that yeah. I'll make this one quick. ⁓ Washington, ⁓ Utah State. Yep, clean sleep, Washington, Washington Tuskies. Yep. Don't even need to talk about that. Next game at two thirty, probably the closest g Easily the closest game of the slate UTSA, Texas State. UTSA is favored by one point f one point five. I'm gonna go Texas State. I I have to. I've got to go. I hate Owen McCown. I'm not never been high on the way. Yeah, dude. Come on. You're you're thinking about it? I am just because like I said, I it's just UTSA looked pretty good. I understand the opponents. I also go to Texas State just because I will be there, obviously in the booth w ⁓ so it's It's gonna be hard to not like root for the cats, obviously. So I'll go with Texas State. I will say that running back room, Will Henderson and Amerian Peterson, they both both combined for like he ⁓ is a problem. They combined for like almost two hundred yard they combined four or two hundred yards last game. So I could see them giving the Texas State defense some trouble. U TSA fans are very high on their team this year too. Yeah. They're very high on their team. As they should be, man. It's the first time in a while they've been able to be. So I'll let them have that. I think it's probably gonna be a barn burner though. I think the spread like s The over was like sixty now. Yeah, 'cause it it ended like forty four, forty one last year. It was an insane game. Seventy nine points scored last year. That's so sick. I love football. So we all got the Texas State sweep. Probably gonna be a really great game though. It's gonna be a great game no matter what happens. Game of the week if Boise wasn't playing Memphis. I was about to say that's up next, Boise in Memphis. In Boise. Boise's favorite by seven and a half. O and one while Memphis is two and ⁓ How are we feeling about the Broncos? Think I have to start drinking that boise Kool Aid now. Yeah. Yeah. I'm not I'm not gonna start now. Well I'm not gonna I'm not gonna continue to to down Boise. I'm off that train now. Give me Boise. I'm about to say you're gonna pick an American team especially. Give me Boise. Yeah, no, I'm not picking an American team this week at all. Ever. Then next up for Colorado State, they're taking on southern Utah. Should be a tune up game. Easy here. Yeah, Colorado State. Colorado State. So you're like, you're made. Yeah, you're you're good. He they're gonna start off two and ⁓ and they're gonna be a very good team. Probably the last interesting game of the slate. Well, maybe not, but San Diego State UCLA. It's it's the smallest spread left of these games, but I'm not gonna lie. San Diego State's offense just kinda just leaves me less to be desired. More to be desired. I agree, but UCLA's defense also in those first three quarters against Cal kinda They didn't sway me at all either. And I thought San Diego I think San Diego State sells a really good offense. So this is my upset of the week. I will pick San Diego State over UCLA here. We actually said this weeks ago. Yeah. We said this, yeah, like five or four episodes ago. We said this is one of our upsets of Con slate. So here we man. We're yeah, we're just foreshadowing. I low key thank. I'm not with y'all. I think Nico Amaliva's gonna probably run over them with his feet. I think what upset are you picking then? I had it. Wazoo. ⁓ okay. Yeah. Anthony Woods also, too, man. He had 118 yards on eight carries and two touchdowns. So UCLA, if they if they can run the ball, they will beat San Diego State. But give me the Aztecs. I got UCLA this one. Give me the Bruins. Bob Chesney and though. And you can't even really say like, ⁓ it's a home game for UCLA. That doesn't matter. They're not going to show up for a UCLA. Doesn't matter. They never show up for UCLA. I don't think I've ever seen that stadium packed in like the last 15 years. Not for UCLA. Not yeah. Alrighty. Next one. Big twelve matchup again for Oregon State. They're taking on the Red Raiders of Texas Tech. I believe this one is a home game actually. It is a home game in Corvallis. In Corvallis, the spread is twenty six and a half, and Texas Tech, I mean, they're projected to win the big twelve again. But how are we feeling about the Beaves? They looked pretty good last week against Houston. What's the spread? Twenty six and a half. Ooh, that's big. ⁓ sure. They'll cover the spread maybe. Maybe they'll cover the spread. Yeah. But but tag it's tech without that. Who was who is starting for Tech's quarterback right now? It should be Will Hammond. It was Will Hammond. Wow, he did play. I thought he was hurt. Shout out Will Hammond. He's the dog. I love Will Hammond. I I l I do love Will Hammond. I think out of all the Texas Tech stuff that has come out this offseason, I think like Texas Tech fans should be very lucky that they have Will Hammond over Brendan Soresby. I was just gonna say that. I never got the high with Sorsby and they gave him that much money. I'm like, you have a better quarterback on your bench. Already. Yeah, and he played last year. Like and he was really good. So I think I'm going tech though. Yeah, for sure. Kind of hard not to. Yeah, I think I'll go tech as well. I think this low key could be a really good game if Oregon State comes out how they did. Mm-hmm. I'm really interested to watch how they play. And then the night cap nine thirty after dark. Fresno State against Sack State Stinger's up, but I think I will ride with the Bulldogs. I'm going with the Bulldogs as well. Good bounce back right here over the Mac. Yep. The Mac. The Mac had a good week though. Let's not disrespect the Unless you're western Michigan. Unless you're Wes. Hey, but listen, listen, I understand the terrible ending. I get I I you but you still kept it. You ha you were in the lead for ninety nine point nine percent of that game against Michigan, despite if you think Michigan isn't good or not. That's still a blue blood college football program. That's pretty impressive, despite them losing. I understand. Say what you want about the Bale Mary, I don't care. The Bale Mary is elite. That's elite. But but we'll leave it at that. I I I still think the Mac is really good. ⁓ but yeah, I ⁓ either way, Fresno State. Boom. And that will do it for the Pac twelve. Slate we will have that graphic posted on Instagram. ⁓ we also have a a ⁓ guest picker this week. We do have a guest picker. Yes. ⁓ my god, almost forgot. Yes, Yeah, let's men let's mention him real quick. Special picks. Yeah, special shout out to Shout out to our guy Aztec Republic. Yes. On Instagram. ⁓ has been the nicest fan account, by the way, of all the fan accounts that like we interact with. They're great. He really the first one we really got to interact with as well. We we are trying to get in touch with more fan accounts and kind of have fan accounts pick every week. Mm-hmm. So the whole slate. So ⁓ Aztec Republic will kick us off here in week two. And hopefully, like if you're a fan of say Wazoo and you know the fan account, you know the guy that runs it or something like that. Like, come on, like we just want some picks, that's all. We're not asking for anything. D DM us on Twitter. ⁓ no, Instagram, wherever. Even YouTube comment, bro. Yeah, we're and we're not even like It's not like a gotch either like that we're doing like w with these picks where we're just gonna like read your picks and and and roast you. No, you're you're you're with us here. Like you're you're our brother in arms now. We're you're you're basically a part of the show. So what does the Aztec Republic have for week two, Caden? Yeah, first of all, happy late twenty first to the guy who runs Aztec Republic. He told us about that a little while back, but he mentioned it, so I'll bring it up. So for Kansas State, Washington State, Aztec Republic goes with the Wildcats. Kansas State wins there for him. Washington State, Utah State, Washington, of course. Got Texas State over the Roadrunners. That's a good public picking correct. He knew who he was talking about. And he also doesn't like the American. He's going boise over. Let's go. Two and no Pac twelve versus the American this week. And then he's got Colorado State over Southern Utah. Of course, San Diego State. His school. He's picking the upset over UCLA right with the Let's go. As he should. I don't blame him. I think he he has the right to be happy about that pick. And then Texas Tech over Oregon State. And they got Fresno State beating Sack State. So I believe that's the exact same picks as me and Brett. Yeah. I got a UCLA winner. Yeah. We'll see, man. There's gotta be some kind of difference. If you if you guys are waiting for parody in this i I promise you conference play starts, we will have ⁓ yeah, we're gonna be ⁓ yeah, we'll disagree more when conference play comes. Yeah, we week one and two is it's kinda just tune up week. So yeah, we're gonna have the same record. We're probably gonna have a lot of the same picks. I promise you as the year goes on that's not gonna be the case. I'm imagining Caden trying to pick when Wazoo comes in town for San Marcus. We're gonna see how the Washington State run game looks and how the Tech State defense looks when that comes around and then we'll have a that's how I'm already a movable object versus stoppable force. It could be it could be genuinely that, but I mean Caden Pay versus Brad Jackson is my C T V. That does it for the picks today. Now we're gonna throw it over for your athlete of the week. It's not a women's soccer player. Not a women's soccer player. Congrats, football. You did it. Haas Henny. Tw twenty three for thirty-three, two hundred and fourteen yards, five touchdowns. Look no further than Haas Henny to be leading that way in our week four athlete of the week. Well, that'll do it here. Thank you so much for listening to this week one review. Make sure you stay tuned for this next episode. Week two is almost here. I could taste it already. Football is so back, gentlemen. Thank you so much for listening to this.
