- 0:12Speaker 1: Here's something that I heard last year here at Hodaki from.
- 0:17Speaker 2: One of the girls stop leering at me Keezy you
- 0:20Speaker 2: animal I don't feel safe.
- 0:23Speaker 3: Maybe go easy on the beersies Keezy you've had a
- 0:28Speaker 3: few now.
- 0:31Speaker 1: It was about... Aren't you married, Keezy?
- 0:34Speaker 3: You were about to be married. Was it like that?
- 0:38Speaker 2: Got another T-shirt with a automobile theme on it, Keezy.
- 0:45Speaker 1: It was about... We were drinking here in the office
- 0:49Speaker 1: and I was drinking soda and gin or something and
- 0:51Speaker 1: I was like, oh, it's quite a good thing to
- 0:53Speaker 1: drink because it's a lot of water so it's not
- 0:56Speaker 1: sugary so the next day you wake up and it's
- 0:57Speaker 1: fine and it's, you know, alcohol's not healthy for you
- 1:00Speaker 1: but at least it's the healthiest option you can get.
- 1:02Speaker 1: And then someone was like, well, actually, no, soda water's
- 1:04Speaker 1: got extra sodium in it, so you get lots of sodium.
- 1:06Speaker 1: There's lots of salt in soda water.
- 1:08Speaker 2: There's salt in it, yeah.
- 1:09Speaker 1: Is that true?
- 1:10Speaker 2: It is true.
- 1:11Speaker 1: Really?
- 1:11Speaker 2: Yes. But it depends. The most amount of it is in, like,
- 1:15Speaker 2: if you buy it. Off the shelf, SodaStream's not too bad.
- 1:18Speaker 1: Yeah, because I thought they just carbonated it.
- 1:19Speaker 2: But some of them are huge amounts of salt. Wow,
- 1:23Speaker 2: so sparkling water you should get there. In fact, from, yeah, no,
- 1:25Speaker 2: I won't even say it because I'm probably wrong, but yeah,
- 1:27Speaker 2: there was a brand that I thought was particularly shitty.
- 1:30Speaker 2: But I think the SodaStream's right. But I think you're
- 1:32Speaker 2: still right there, Keezy. We started using our SodaStream.
- 1:35Speaker 3: This weekend again, actually, weirdly enough. But speaking of Die
- 1:39Speaker 3: Henwood fellas. And he was saying that he went into
- 1:42Speaker 3: a cafe on Saturday morning and got absolutely pounded by
- 1:47Speaker 3: Big Show fans.
- 1:49Speaker 2: Why?
- 1:49Speaker 3: They just started going on about the Big Show and
- 1:53Speaker 3: how steamed Keezy was all the time and how the
- 1:57Speaker 3: fuck does he actually work when he's so steamed all
- 2:00Speaker 3: the time. Luckily, they said he works with a couple
- 2:03Speaker 3: of backbones.
- 2:05Speaker 1: So bonkers. Yeah, so that's what got him through.
- 2:09Speaker 2: Yeah, good stuff.
- 2:11Speaker 1: Yeah. He was going down there to get his early
- 2:13Speaker 1: morning coffee to wake up and get ready for the weekend,
- 2:15Speaker 1: and then he just hit. Apparently, they were having a
- 2:17Speaker 1: couple of pints and a big brickie.
- 2:19Speaker 2: Really?
- 2:19Speaker 3: I wasn't aware of the fact that. You could in
- 2:22Speaker 3: New Zealand have a few pints with your brekkie there.
- 2:26Speaker 2: With your pudding.
- 2:26Speaker 1: Well, it's just a bar that's got an all-hours license, right?
- 2:29Speaker 3: Right.
- 2:30Speaker 2: Well, not all hours.
- 2:30Speaker 1: You have to cut off by midnight or something, usually,
- 2:32Speaker 1: if it's out in the suburbs there. But it's a
- 2:34Speaker 1: bar that in the morning serves big brekkie. So, of course,
- 2:36Speaker 1: you just get a pint with it. No, I don't
- 2:39Speaker 1: know how I know that. It's just what I'm just guessing.
- 2:44Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 2:48Speaker 1: How was your little share of it? Your little sherbet
- 2:51Speaker 1: you're eating?
- 2:52Speaker 2: Still going there. Just sucking on it. People wouldn't have known.
- 2:55Speaker 2: I was very careful about that. There's a lot of.
- 2:58Speaker 3: People wouldn't have known what you were sucking on it.
- 3:02Speaker 2: Sucking on what?
- 3:03Speaker 3: Yeah, that's what I'm... What do you mean? People wouldn't
- 3:05Speaker 3: have known.
- 3:06Speaker 2: No one would have known that I was doing that.
- 3:08Speaker 3: Sucking on it?
- 3:09Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 3:10Speaker 1: Sucking on sherbet. Literally this whole outro.
- 3:13Speaker 3: Are you a fan of the.
- 3:18Speaker 3: What's the Italian ice cream? Come on now.
- 3:20Speaker 1: Gelato.
- 3:20Speaker 3: Gelato.
- 3:23Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 3:25Speaker 2: Don't you reckon? I mean, it's all much of a muchness.
- 3:27Speaker 2: I mean, what's the difference? I mean, you can put
- 3:29Speaker 2: all of that in front of me. Gelato, sorbet, ice cream.
- 3:34Speaker 2: What about soft serve? It's cold and it's yum.
- 3:35Speaker 1: I fucking hate soft serve.
- 3:36Speaker 2: Do you?
- 3:37Speaker 3: I love a soft serve.
- 3:38Speaker 2: It's disgusting.
- 3:39Speaker 1: With a flake in there.
- 3:41Speaker 2: Oh, yeah. Chocolo dip.
- 3:42Speaker 1: Are you serious, Keezy? That sucks. Yeah, the best ice
- 3:45Speaker 1: cream is just a good old couple of scoops of
- 3:47Speaker 1: Tip Top. Goody gumdrops or something.
- 3:50Speaker 3: I mean, when I think about the utter shit that
- 3:53Speaker 3: you eat.
- 3:53Speaker 1: I eat good stuff.
- 3:54Speaker 3: I can't believe that you're not into soft soup.
- 3:57Speaker 1: No, it's just I hate Mr. Whippy and all that shit. Oh,
- 3:59Speaker 1: my God.
- 4:02Speaker 2: The Horaki Big Show.
- 4:03Speaker 1: Weekdays from 4 on Radio Horaki.
- 4:06Speaker 2: Ha, ha, ha.
- 4:08Speaker 1: Now that's good listening. And it's live. What are you
- 4:11Speaker 1: listening to there?
- 4:13Speaker 3: Oh, me? Oh, sorry. I was listening to the Radio
- 4:17Speaker 3: Hauraki Big Show.
- 4:19Speaker 1: Right.
- 4:19Speaker 3: Four to seven weekdays.
- 4:22Speaker 1: Yeah, that's quite specific. And I heart radio.
- 4:26Speaker 2: What, oh?
- 4:27Speaker 1: Cheers. The Hauraki Big Show podcast.
- 4:31Speaker 3: True story, man.
- 4:32Speaker 2: Right.
- 4:33Speaker 3: So we were packing all this shit out. And we
- 4:35Speaker 3: get back to our house, and she had this massive
- 4:39Speaker 3: kind of oak dresser. When I say massive, I mean
- 4:43Speaker 3: it came out to about my belly button. It was
- 4:45Speaker 3: about that wide.
- 4:45Speaker 2: Oh, quite small.
- 4:46Speaker 3: But it was heavy as fuck.
- 4:48Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 4:49Speaker 3: And it had four drawers in it. They were all
- 4:51Speaker 3: full to the brim, and I went to pick it
- 4:53Speaker 3: up and went, oh, Jesus.
- 4:54Speaker 1: Well, you take the drawers out and carry them out.
- 4:55Speaker 3: Well, I know it was just easier, but my wife
- 4:58Speaker 3: and I carried it to the car when we– put
- 5:00Speaker 3: it in the car and then I went to pick
- 5:01Speaker 3: it up again and went oh fuck no there's no
- 5:03Speaker 3: way there's no way and then Millie went to go
- 5:06Speaker 3: and grab it Mills and I went ah Mills don't
- 5:08Speaker 3: do that I'll have to help you with that it's
- 5:09Speaker 3: fucking heavy and she just went da da seriously man
- 5:14Speaker 3: with not the slightest bit of strain and just walked
- 5:17Speaker 3: down to her room da boom no worries.
- 5:19Speaker 2: You must have been embarrassed by that were you.
- 5:21Speaker 3: I was embarrassed by the fact she's fucking tough as
- 5:24Speaker 3: nuts man.
- 5:25Speaker 1: Well there's that but it's also don't you're just not
- 5:29Speaker 1: that strong don't What?
- 5:31Speaker 3: Do you know what I pressed, Keezy?
- 5:32Speaker 1: What? 180. Chest or leg?
- 5:36Speaker 3: Chest.
- 5:36Speaker 1: Chest press.
- 5:37Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 5:37Speaker 1: Chest press 180 kegs. Yeah. Bullshit. Bullshit. Okay. Bullshit.
- 5:42Speaker 3: Okay.
- 5:42Speaker 1: Okay, let's line up a gym, and I want to
- 5:44Speaker 1: see you do it. When I was in my lifting days,
- 5:47Speaker 1: which is when I was like 21. Were you a
- 5:48Speaker 1: bit of a bodybuilder? No, it was just when I
- 5:51Speaker 1: was fit, yeah. You were pumping a hundy, weren't you, Keezy?
- 5:53Speaker 1: You beat your hundy? My best ever was just I
- 5:55Speaker 1: did one single rep of 100, which is freaking hard
- 5:58Speaker 1: to do.
- 5:59Speaker 2: I've never done that.
- 6:00Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah. I was like addicted to going at
- 6:02Speaker 1: a point there, and then I met my wife, and
- 6:03Speaker 1: then I stopped.
- 6:04Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, went to seed. Yeah, I started at a hundy.
- 6:09Speaker 3: And actually, I remember the trainer saying to me, jeez,
- 6:12Speaker 3: that's pretty full on, Hootie J, starting at that number.
- 6:15Speaker 3: You want to start off a little lower than that.
- 6:17Speaker 3: And I went, no, mate, she's good. Douche, douche, douche, douche, douche.
- 6:20Speaker 3: So very quickly went up to 130.
- 6:23Speaker 1: You guys can't cut the da off the front of
- 6:25Speaker 1: da douche and just say douche. It has to be
- 6:27Speaker 1: da douche.
- 6:28Speaker 2: It doesn't have to be anything.
- 6:29Speaker 1: But he's just over here douching. It sounds weird. Douche, douche, douche, douche, douche.
- 6:33Speaker 2: Yeah, it's different to da douche. Douche is different to
- 6:35Speaker 2: da douche.
- 6:35Speaker 3: Especially when you're doing rapid, you know.
- 6:38Speaker 1: Yeah, but douche, douche, douche, douche, douche, douche. The way
- 6:40Speaker 1: he's saying it's fine.
- 6:41Speaker 2: Douche.
- 6:42Speaker 1: You're just saying douche, douche, douche, douche. Well, there you go.
- 6:46Speaker 2: You've been told already, Joe.
- 6:48Speaker 3: How do you say it?
- 6:49Speaker 1: Douche, douche, douche, douche, douche. It's like douche. Douche, douche, douche, douche, douche.
- 6:54Speaker 2: Douche.
- 6:55Speaker 3: Fucking whatever. One of my greatest, you know, one of
- 7:00Speaker 3: my greatest fears was passing out. It was fainting.
- 7:03Speaker 2: Right.
- 7:03Speaker 3: I had a real thing.
- 7:04Speaker 1: So you were scared of fainting? Yeah.
- 7:06Speaker 3: But like when I'm balls deep.
- 7:08Speaker 2: Well, where he went to school, you would be.
- 7:09Speaker 3: When I, you know, was deep in a panic attack,
- 7:12Speaker 3: my fear was that I was going to faint and
- 7:15Speaker 3: black out.
- 7:16Speaker 1: But then that would increase the likelihood of you doing so. Yeah.
- 7:20Speaker 2: Yeah, but I never did. My fear was that a
- 7:22Speaker 2: fly would fly into my mouth. Right. When I was
- 7:24Speaker 2: a kid. Whilst having a panic attack or just in general? No, no,
- 7:27Speaker 2: just that a fly would go in my mouth when
- 7:28Speaker 2: I was like eight.
- 7:29Speaker 1: Right.
- 7:30Speaker 2: And then I was running up the back steps at
- 7:31Speaker 2: my house on Carlisle Street living and a fly flew
- 7:34Speaker 2: into my mouth and it immediately drowned in my spit
- 7:38Speaker 2: and I remember the spit spat it out and then
- 7:40Speaker 2: I was like, That actually wasn't that bad.
- 7:42Speaker 1: No, it's all good.
- 7:43Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah.
- 7:44Speaker 1: I wasn't scared of it anymore. Yeah, yeah.
- 7:46Speaker 2: How many times have you had a fly, a whole
- 7:48Speaker 2: house fly, fly into your mouth?
- 7:49Speaker 1: Three times.
- 7:50Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 7:51Speaker 1: No, it's happened.
- 7:52Speaker 3: It's definitely happened.
- 7:53Speaker 1: Three times. Yeah, I mean, it's not common, but it's not.
- 7:57Speaker 3: I'll tell you another weird thing that, you know, since
- 7:59Speaker 3: I've been having a bit of basil for medicinal purposes.
- 8:03Speaker 2: Yeah. Is that only happening on the weekend, by the way? Yeah,
- 8:05Speaker 2: it is. Is it? Wow.
- 8:06Speaker 3: Yeah, no, genuinely it is. Wow. One of the things
- 8:11Speaker 3: that I start focusing on is swallowing. Oh, yeah, sure.
- 8:18Speaker 2: Breathing was one. Oh, I haven't had the blinking one.
- 8:22Speaker 3: Breathing was when I was on another substance. That's what
- 8:25Speaker 3: freaked me out.
- 8:25Speaker 1: How do we breathe?
- 8:27Speaker 3: But no, with the basil, I've been finding myself going,
- 8:30Speaker 3: you know, getting really focused on my swallowing. And also
- 8:37Speaker 3: what I find, I don't know if you guys, because
- 8:39Speaker 3: I'm not a big belcher. And I often, I've found
- 8:42Speaker 3: with a basil get, feel like I need to belch,
- 8:46Speaker 3: but I can't. And I'm sort of going.
- 8:49Speaker 2: Right.
- 8:49Speaker 1: Wow, this is like a real light bit.
- 8:51Speaker 2: It's probably because you get quite hungry when you've been
- 8:54Speaker 2: on the basil.
- 8:55Speaker 3: Well, eventually I do.
- 8:56Speaker 2: You get the munchies and then you're smashing bags of
- 8:58Speaker 2: cheese balls.
- 8:59Speaker 3: And that's, you know, the other thing too is I
- 9:00Speaker 3: always had a big massive fear of choking. And so
- 9:03Speaker 3: when I'm on the seed. and I'm chewing away there,
- 9:06Speaker 3: I'm like, God, that's quite chunky. Is that going to
- 9:08Speaker 3: go down my throat?
- 9:11Speaker 1: So you're just freaking about all this stuff while everyone
- 9:13Speaker 1: else is just chilling out.
- 9:14Speaker 3: Yeah, pretty much. Wow.
