- 1:12Speaker 1: welcome to today's radio archive hour. Bobby Duley from the
- 1:16Speaker 1: year two thousand and four, and along with her husband Steve.
- 1:20Speaker 1: They're sitting in a hot tub and they're taking phone
- 1:22Speaker 1: calls from women because Bobby is saying her and Steve
- 1:25Speaker 1: Man they got a slamming great relationship. She never says
- 1:28Speaker 1: no to her husband. Yes, she does allow him to
- 1:30Speaker 1: slap her face if she doesn't courtesy flush. And all
- 1:33Speaker 1: of this does. All this does is enrage the people
- 1:36Speaker 1: that are calling in, many women that just can't believe
- 1:39Speaker 1: what the hell it is she's talking about her if
- 1:40Speaker 1: she's even in fact sane. It's the usual Bobby Dooley
- 1:44Speaker 1: and Steve Dooley Hour. Let's listen to them right now,
- 1:46Speaker 1: guys from two thousand and four, Bobby and Steve and
- 1:48Speaker 1: the courtesy Flush.
- 1:49Speaker 3: Hour and now the Phil hen Rachel with Phil Henry.
- 2:02Speaker 2: So you have what in terms of your relationship with
- 2:05Speaker 2: these people.
- 2:05Speaker 4: Well, we've got two very wonderful people, as I told you,
- 2:09Speaker 4: Phil Don and Karen Llewellyn, and they live over the
- 2:14Speaker 4: Cherry Blunts in the phase which we've just completed. They've
- 2:16Speaker 4: been in their home about eight months. They've got a
- 2:20Speaker 4: beautiful villa, Deka's steel a floor plan.
- 2:23Speaker 2: But what's going on with them?
- 2:24Speaker 4: Well, they're getting divorced.
- 2:26Speaker 2: Okay.
- 2:27Speaker 4: And I said to Janis Greeley, who is on our
- 2:29Speaker 4: Summer Attack VIS Steering Committee, I said, are you believing
- 2:32Speaker 4: this divorced Phil is something? I guess you could say
- 2:37Speaker 4: that Steve and I kind of get a kick out
- 2:38Speaker 4: of it, because not because we want to be divorced,
- 2:42Speaker 4: because you wouldn't think there'd be that many weak people
- 2:45Speaker 4: out there.
- 2:47Speaker 2: Well, I mean, forgive me, but isn't that a little judgmental?
- 2:51Speaker 5: Well, I mean, aren't there a number of factors when
- 2:54Speaker 5: it comes to divorce.
- 2:55Speaker 4: I don't think it takes really a rocket scientist to
- 2:59Speaker 4: figure out how to keep marriage together. And when I
- 3:01Speaker 4: spoke with Karen and I said to Steve, are you
- 3:02Speaker 4: believing these people. We laughed. I mean it seemed like
- 3:06Speaker 4: it seemed like for hours we were laughing over these
- 3:08Speaker 4: people the other night.
- 3:09Speaker 5: Well, I don't understand this couple. You're talking about Don
- 3:13Speaker 5: and Karen Llewell and have children.
- 3:14Speaker 2: Correct, that's correct? Yes, Well, what is funny about a
- 3:17Speaker 2: divorce like this?
- 3:19Speaker 4: What is funny about it?
- 3:20Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 3:20Speaker 5: I mean a divorce where there's custody battles, where there's
- 3:23Speaker 5: children involved.
- 3:25Speaker 4: Oh, Mike, you have two young people. So I'm talking
- 3:27Speaker 4: with Karen last week at a luncheon that we had
- 3:30Speaker 4: at the Reagan Library, and she says, well, is she
- 3:34Speaker 4: and Don? This is the way she put it to me.
- 3:37Speaker 4: She couldn't get into a sexual rhythm with him, or
- 3:40Speaker 4: something about them not being on the same page sexually.
- 3:43Speaker 4: And I have to tell you I had to excuse
- 3:44Speaker 4: myself and go to the ladies room before I laughed
- 3:48Speaker 4: in front of everyone and stick tuna salad Oliver. I
- 3:52Speaker 4: was gonna for me to hear.
- 3:54Speaker 5: What is funny about that? Isn't that a common complaint
- 3:56Speaker 5: that many couples have about sex?
- 4:00Speaker 4: Yeah, So let me explain something to you and maybe
- 4:03Speaker 4: to a lot of your listeners. I don't know because
- 4:07Speaker 4: I don't know anymore what whether people are really in
- 4:11Speaker 4: rhythm with the reality of what's going on. But Steve
- 4:14Speaker 4: and I have been married for eighteen years. I've never
- 4:16Speaker 4: said no to him, and I mean we've been everywhere,
- 4:20Speaker 4: and I have never said no to him on boats.
- 4:23Speaker 4: I remember once inside the block enclosure for pool equipment.
- 4:28Speaker 4: We were on a ferris wheel. You know, so I
- 4:30Speaker 4: don't understand your classes.
- 4:31Speaker 2: Well I don't even know every detail, but.
- 4:33Speaker 4: I don't understand your question. Well, look, Phil, you see look,
- 4:37Speaker 4: Steve and I believe that divorce.
- 4:40Speaker 2: My question is this, what's unusual about that?
- 4:45Speaker 4: Steph and I believe that divorce is really amusing That
- 4:48Speaker 4: people can't have what Steve and I have. It's kind
- 4:52Speaker 4: of amusing to us. Steve and I look at divorced
- 4:55Speaker 4: couples or couples that are divorcing and you don't want
- 4:59Speaker 4: to say it, and you want to leave the room
- 5:01Speaker 4: before you say it. But the loser words seems to
- 5:03Speaker 4: be appropriate. I mean, they're just losers.
- 5:07Speaker 2: And is there no compassion though, for the pain these
- 5:10Speaker 2: couples go through for the children.
- 5:12Speaker 4: You know, it's interesting you mentioned the children. Karen said
- 5:14Speaker 4: that there's probably going to be a custody battle for
- 5:17Speaker 4: the kids.
- 5:19Speaker 2: See that's to me, that's sad.
- 5:22Speaker 4: Well, get a load of this. Apparently she drinks okay,
- 5:26Speaker 4: and she drinks to excess, and I told her that
- 5:29Speaker 4: and done's gonna use it. And she's telling me this,
- 5:32Speaker 4: and of course that the visual of them doing this
- 5:34Speaker 4: tap dance for the children. Who do you want to
- 5:36Speaker 4: live with? I have to tell you, I had to
- 5:38Speaker 4: excuse myself, and I really mean, it's this funny to me,
- 5:42Speaker 4: I had to do a quick underwear check because I can't.
- 5:46Speaker 4: You know, it's just very funny.
- 5:48Speaker 2: All right. Look, I'm talking with Bobby Dooley.
- 5:50Speaker 5: She's the president of the Western States Parent Teacher Organization
- 5:54Speaker 5: on Divorce and specifically this couple who live they are neighbors.
- 5:58Speaker 2: They also have children who are in the school district.
- 6:00Speaker 2: They're right, that is correct.
- 6:01Speaker 5: You So you are a PTO board member laughing at
- 6:06Speaker 5: the divorce of children of the parents and children who's
- 6:09Speaker 5: you know, under whose guidance?
- 6:13Speaker 2: Under?
- 6:14Speaker 5: I should say, under your guidance? They depend And custody
- 6:18Speaker 5: battles aren't funny. They're tragic. Families falling apart are not funny.
- 6:22Speaker 5: They're tragic.
- 6:23Speaker 4: Well, I don't know why you're punishing me, because Steve
- 6:26Speaker 4: and I are.
- 6:26Speaker 2: I'm not trying to punish you.
- 6:27Speaker 4: I'm just saying that you are being a little accusatory.
- 6:31Speaker 2: And let me ask you something. In all instances people
- 6:34Speaker 2: that get divorced or losers.
- 6:37Speaker 4: Well, look, Phil, I've been married eighteen years to Steve.
- 6:40Speaker 4: I've never said no to him. Ever. The key to
- 6:44Speaker 4: a strong marriage is to just get with it. And
- 6:48Speaker 4: I'm not saying people can have what Steve and I have.
- 6:50Speaker 4: What we have is very very special, and I'm not
- 6:54Speaker 4: even trying to give advice. I'm just saying, I guess
- 6:57Speaker 4: to me, people to get divorced or a music's all.
- 7:00Speaker 2: So you sit there, you and Steve, if you'll forgive
- 7:04Speaker 2: me in a smug way and.
- 7:05Speaker 4: Say I have no, we're not being smug till that's
- 7:07Speaker 4: very unfair.
- 7:08Speaker 2: Well wait a minute.
- 7:09Speaker 5: You're saying I have everything and you don't have it
- 7:11Speaker 5: and you'll never be able to have it.
- 7:12Speaker 2: And I don't care whether you have it or not.
- 7:13Speaker 2: I just think you're funny.
- 7:15Speaker 4: No, I'm not being smug and.
- 7:16Speaker 2: I Well, then what are you saying?
- 7:18Speaker 4: I'm saying, Look, Steve, and I have been married eighteen years,
- 7:23Speaker 4: and I don't care where we are in a storm drain.
- 7:25Speaker 4: I mean literally, one day we were walking through a
- 7:28Speaker 4: storm drain. We were taking a shortcut through the foothills
- 7:31Speaker 4: over here, and there was a large storm drain that
- 7:34Speaker 4: was connecting fountain to one of the main streets and
- 7:40Speaker 4: right there and.
- 7:41Speaker 2: All right, so you had sex in a storm drain.
- 7:43Speaker 2: I mean, you know, so you want to use that
- 7:46Speaker 2: as a joke.
- 7:46Speaker 4: I'm telling you an example of how strong and how
- 7:48Speaker 4: very very special our marriage is.
- 7:52Speaker 5: And well, you sit there and you laugh at people,
- 7:54Speaker 5: and like I said, let me ask you this question.
- 7:57Speaker 2: Okay, I'm not.
- 7:58Speaker 4: Laughing at anyone, Phil, I'm laughing. I'm just laughing at
- 8:00Speaker 4: how I guess I am laughing at them, but I'm
- 8:03Speaker 4: not laughing at them to be cruel. I'm just when
- 8:05Speaker 4: she says to me, oh, we're getting a divorce, I
- 8:07Speaker 4: just I went down. I said, are you believing her?
- 8:10Speaker 4: And I went over to Janis Brearley and a couple
- 8:12Speaker 4: of the other women they're in the steering committee. I said,
- 8:14Speaker 4: Karen Llewelly and just told me she's getting a divorce.
- 8:17Speaker 4: I said, are you getting this and of course they
- 8:20Speaker 4: rolled their eyes. They couldn't understand.
- 8:22Speaker 2: All right, look, what if Steve beat you? I mean,
- 8:25Speaker 2: what if he cheated on you? What if he beats you?
- 8:27Speaker 4: First of all, I have never in eighteen years refused
- 8:30Speaker 4: my husband sexually, So Steve cheating on me as a nonfactor?
- 8:34Speaker 4: And will we be upon you mentioned?
- 8:36Speaker 2: Well, what if he was physically abusive? What if he
- 8:38Speaker 2: hits you?
- 8:39Speaker 4: What if he did so?
- 8:41Speaker 2: What if he beats you?
- 8:42Speaker 4: So so? What if he did so?
- 8:44Speaker 2: What if he beat you so so?
- 8:46Speaker 6: What?
- 8:47Speaker 5: Bobby Dooley here on the tragedy of divorce, the custody
- 8:50Speaker 5: of children, the reality of you know what, It's real
- 8:54Speaker 5: for a lot of.
- 8:54Speaker 2: People, Miss Duley, it may not be real for you.
- 8:57Speaker 4: Well, maybe that's why I'm talking to you tonight. I
- 9:01Speaker 4: don't know why people are weak, and I suppose I
- 9:04Speaker 4: want to find that out more than anything, because as
- 9:07Speaker 4: the head of the Parent Teacher Organization, I'm talking to
- 9:10Speaker 4: a lot of these losers. And I don't mean to
- 9:11Speaker 4: say loser, but I really am talking a lot of
- 9:13Speaker 4: well you know, uh uh. You know. Aiden's father and
- 9:17Speaker 4: I are are And I don't want to say Aiden
- 9:18Speaker 4: because that is the name of a young boy whose
- 9:20Speaker 4: parents are divorcing, but you know, are his father and
- 9:23Speaker 4: I are divorcing, and so it's going to be difficult
- 9:26Speaker 4: in the time being because we're splitting custody. And I'm
- 9:29Speaker 4: just thinking, I don't you know, are you ready for this?
- 9:33Speaker 7: You know?
- 9:33Speaker 2: But it's a common thing, isn't it.
- 9:36Speaker 4: Well, if it's a common thing, it's not common to me.
- 9:39Speaker 4: And maybe that's I'm here to learn too. Because I'm
- 9:42Speaker 4: the president of the PTO doesn't mean I can't learn
- 9:45Speaker 4: as well, and I would like to learn.
- 9:49Speaker 2: What well, what what is your question?
- 9:51Speaker 4: Why aren't they such losers?
- 9:53Speaker 2: In see, you're not going to get very far using
- 9:54Speaker 2: that word.
- 9:55Speaker 4: You're not gonna well all right, what okay, I'm gonna
- 9:58Speaker 4: try and put this the best way I can. What
- 10:04Speaker 4: happened to people that they are so weak and have
- 10:09Speaker 4: a loser mentality that they get divorced?
- 10:11Speaker 2: And so you use the word loser again?
- 10:13Speaker 4: Well, I don't know exactly how I want to phrase it.
- 10:17Speaker 2: So what if your husband beat you? So what if
- 10:21Speaker 2: he did, you wouldn't leave him?
- 10:23Speaker 8: So what.
- 10:26Speaker 2: I mean?
- 10:26Speaker 4: I don't understand your question.
- 10:27Speaker 5: My question is this, Yeah, there's no reason for divorce.
- 10:30Speaker 5: Everybody divorce. What if you had a physically abusive husband
- 10:34Speaker 5: that beat you up? What so the guy is pounding you?
- 10:37Speaker 2: So let's just put her on hold for a minute
- 10:40Speaker 2: because it's frustrating me to no end. Here to talk
- 10:43Speaker 2: to this lady.
- 10:44Speaker 5: Bobby Dooley from the Western the State's PTO on why
- 10:47Speaker 5: do people get divorced? Especially when she and Steve Well
- 10:53Speaker 5: to listen to her. She's never refused him an intimate
- 10:56Speaker 5: moment in eighteen years of marriage. They have a very
- 10:59Speaker 5: special thing. She wishes people had what they have, and
- 11:02Speaker 5: as the president of a PTO, she's got to deal
- 11:04Speaker 5: with a lot of the people, as she calls losers
- 11:06Speaker 5: who get divorces, and then she has to figure out
- 11:08Speaker 5: what to do with their kid. This is the world
- 11:11Speaker 5: famous Phil Henry Show, Phil Henry Show, Why.
- 11:14Speaker 4: Don't you get a piece of fat?
- 11:15Speaker 9: And slid off?
- 11:24Speaker 2: The Phil Henry Show is back.
- 11:26Speaker 5: Bobby Dooley joins me, the president of the Western the
- 11:28Speaker 5: State's PTO.
- 11:30Speaker 2: You've come on this program. Basic. What's that sound in
- 11:32Speaker 2: the background.
- 11:34Speaker 4: I didn't hear you chilling?
- 11:35Speaker 2: What is the sound I'm hearing?
- 11:36Speaker 4: You know what? We're enjoying a tough tonight. It's a
- 11:39Speaker 4: Thursday night, and Steve it's going to take a long
- 11:41Speaker 4: weekend for the fourth of July weekend. So we're actually
- 11:44Speaker 4: in a redwood tub that's Steve constructed for us when
- 11:48Speaker 4: we first moved in here. And it's a beautiful evening
- 11:51Speaker 4: here in southern California. And I hope you don't mind,
- 11:54Speaker 4: but we're just taking a spam.
- 11:57Speaker 5: Okay, as long as it doesn't get too loud. I
- 11:59Speaker 5: just noticed that was kind of rumbling in the background.
- 12:01Speaker 4: I'll try and keep the phone above it.
- 12:03Speaker 5: So all right, So you you don't know why it
- 12:06Speaker 5: is people get divorced, you, well.
- 12:08Speaker 4: I think it's a little bit of what we like
- 12:12Speaker 4: to call a sort of a hillbilly trash or or
- 12:17Speaker 4: a trailer trash thing to do, because.
- 12:20Speaker 5: Well, I can tell you hillbilly trash. I mean, some
- 12:22Speaker 5: of the richest people in the world get divorced.
- 12:24Speaker 4: No, I understand those people I'm talking about. I thought
- 12:27Speaker 4: you were talking about just regular people.
- 12:29Speaker 2: Who are well, what's the difference.
- 12:32Speaker 5: Oh my god, you know I've never a look at
- 12:37Speaker 5: your husband never slaps you, and if he does, it's okay.
- 12:42Speaker 4: Steve has slapped my face occasionally, but only when there
- 12:48Speaker 4: was an occasion when I had snored and I had
- 12:50Speaker 4: kept him awake and he had a very early day.
- 12:54Speaker 4: And certain I can tell you we have a custom
- 12:58Speaker 4: in our home, believe in what's called the courtesy flush.
- 13:03Speaker 4: And he slapped me because I had not done that.
- 13:07Speaker 2: Doesn't that make you feel bad for yourself?
- 13:10Speaker 4: So I don't understand the question.
- 13:13Speaker 2: This is Charlotte. Charlotte. Hello, you're on the Phil Henry
- 13:15Speaker 2: Show with Bobby Dooley.
- 13:17Speaker 10: Well, yeah, Bobby, okay, you got to listen to me.
- 13:21Speaker 10: How dare you get on? Are you are part of
- 13:24Speaker 10: a PTO? You have our children watching you? Well, we're listening.
- 13:29Speaker 10: Let me finish, Bobby exactly. Hey, you've got them watching you,
- 13:33Speaker 10: and you're telling people a national radio that you are
- 13:38Speaker 10: going to accept your husband. Yeah, what if he beats you? Well,
- 13:41Speaker 10: what if he does that on you? Let me finish,
- 13:44Speaker 10: beat he slaps me? Okay, let me finish. Are you
- 13:46Speaker 10: telling me if you had a daughter or a son
- 13:49Speaker 10: and they're big, they're being beat by her man, that
- 13:52Speaker 10: you're going to look at your daughter in the face
- 13:53Speaker 10: and say no, you should stay with him.
- 13:56Speaker 4: I would run through a checklist before I said anything,
- 13:58Speaker 4: I would say, do your curtis? He blushed you. You
- 14:01Speaker 4: are you doing things to keep him from getting sleep?
- 14:04Speaker 4: You know what is what is going on?
- 14:07Speaker 10: You're telling me there is a reason for a man
- 14:10Speaker 10: to lift his hand and hit a woman.
- 14:13Speaker 2: Well, that's a very good point that Charlotte's making.
- 14:15Speaker 4: Excuse me, mister Henry. No, there's never a good reason.
- 14:19Speaker 4: There's never a good reason.
- 14:20Speaker 10: Okay, you're contradicting yourself.
- 14:22Speaker 4: Bobby.
- 14:22Speaker 10: I just got to saying earlier that you could take
- 14:25Speaker 10: somebody beating you.
- 14:26Speaker 4: No, I didn't say beating, did I?
- 14:28Speaker 10: You The man asked you, what would you do if
- 14:32Speaker 10: your husband beat you?
- 14:34Speaker 4: I gees, I said, so what?
- 14:36Speaker 10: Okay, So you're telling us you'll accept that.
- 14:38Speaker 4: No, I won't.
- 14:39Speaker 10: Okay, let me tell you something, Bobby. I'm a cancer patient.
- 14:42Speaker 10: I was going through chemotherapy.
- 14:43Speaker 6: I lived with a man.
- 14:45Speaker 10: I lived with a man that beat me and put
- 14:48Speaker 10: my head in a toilet when I was throwing up
- 14:51Speaker 10: my guts from chemo. Do you think I should stay
- 14:53Speaker 10: with him?
- 14:53Speaker 4: Bobby? Well, he has a concern You went out and
- 14:56Speaker 4: got cancer, just as the two of you will beginning.
- 15:00Speaker 2: Wait a minute, are you listening to her.
- 15:02Speaker 10: Bobby, are you listening to what I'm saying to you?
- 15:04Speaker 10: This man shoved my head and a toilet while I
- 15:08Speaker 10: was puking up my guts from chemo. You're telling me, Bobby,
- 15:12Speaker 10: how dare art? I can't believe that if somebody would
- 15:15Speaker 10: allow you on our PTO. How dare our country? You
- 15:20Speaker 10: talk about our country being sick. They're sick having people
- 15:23Speaker 10: like you on the PTM.
- 15:25Speaker 4: No, this is what I'm talking about. Did you flush?
- 15:27Speaker 10: What do you mean?
- 15:28Speaker 4: Did I flush when you were throwing up?
- 15:31Speaker 10: I was throwing up in the toilet, ma'am.
- 15:34Speaker 4: But I'm asking Steve slapped me when I didn't use
- 15:37Speaker 4: a courtesy flush.
- 15:39Speaker 10: I was throwing up some cancer chemotherapy treatment. Do you understand?
- 15:44Speaker 4: Well, let me ask you a question, and maybe I
- 15:46Speaker 4: don't get it. Why are you not able to handle
- 15:49Speaker 4: the chumo?
- 15:51Speaker 2: You don't you know it?
- 15:53Speaker 11: Bobby?
- 15:53Speaker 10: I think you're sick.
- 15:54Speaker 5: No, I think don't you know what chemo therapy does.
- 15:58Speaker 5: It's injecting poison into the system to kill cancer cells.
- 16:01Speaker 5: But but the killing of the cancer cells also makes
- 16:04Speaker 5: you very very ill.
- 16:05Speaker 4: It is I'm loving I'm alive, Bobby.
- 16:08Speaker 10: They only gave me eight weeks to live.
- 16:10Speaker 4: I really here, you know, I'm really resentful of the
- 16:12Speaker 4: accusatory tone that both of you are taking with me.
- 16:15Speaker 10: I'm trying to you.
- 16:16Speaker 4: Stan.
- 16:17Speaker 2: You said because you don't courtesy flush, But what is that?
- 16:19Speaker 6: My god, lady.
- 16:21Speaker 4: A courtesy flush is something that actually civilized people should
- 16:24Speaker 4: engage in. It's a flush to cover up embarrassing sounds.
- 16:28Speaker 10: Okay, okay, So what I'm supposed to do. I'm poking
- 16:30Speaker 10: up my guts from chemotherapy that is bringing up blood
- 16:34Speaker 10: with it. Now I'm only weighing at this point about
- 16:37Speaker 10: eighty nine pounds.
- 16:38Speaker 4: Oh god, I excuse me, sir.
- 16:40Speaker 10: Don't hit me right now. Let me courtesy flush first.
- 16:43Speaker 4: Well I have I don't know what. Eighty six pounds
- 16:46Speaker 4: sounds pretty good to me because I'm battling right now.
- 16:49Speaker 4: I'm on the Atkins and wait a.
- 16:51Speaker 5: Second, forget the Atkins and finals of the House. The
- 16:54Speaker 5: lady had cancer, Bobby.
- 16:55Speaker 4: I understand that, and I'm very sorry for that. All
- 16:58Speaker 4: I'm trying to say is this divorce. I don't get it.
- 17:03Speaker 4: You don't get it.
- 17:03Speaker 10: I'm gonna tell you something, Bobby, the man that you're with,
- 17:06Speaker 10: I think you need to take you and get your
- 17:09Speaker 10: head examined.
- 17:10Speaker 11: How dare you?
- 17:11Speaker 10: How can you be on our PTO? How did you
- 17:14Speaker 10: get elected? Could you please tell me that.
- 17:16Speaker 4: I was elected because I'm a go getter, because I'm
- 17:18Speaker 4: on the go. I want to go for what I
- 17:21Speaker 4: am always on the go.
- 17:22Speaker 10: And what you're on the go for the men that
- 17:24Speaker 10: are abusing their women. You're on the go, for the
- 17:27Speaker 10: children that are leaving there.
- 17:28Speaker 4: It's low people that they be amazed. Bobby, you are
- 17:31Speaker 4: a whirlwind of activity. I planned all the poster boards,
- 17:35Speaker 4: I've put up all of our you know, I.
- 17:39Speaker 10: Am listening to Bobby, and I'm trying to understand. I
- 17:41Speaker 10: just can't understand what you're telling me and telling people
- 17:44Speaker 10: on our on our radio. You've got children listening to
- 17:46Speaker 10: you right now, young teenage children, and how dare you
- 17:51Speaker 10: tell that to stay with someone that's beating them.
- 17:54Speaker 4: It's difficult for a man to watch a woman that
- 17:57Speaker 4: eight months ago was in his vision a real He said,
- 18:00Speaker 4: you know what, puking up blood in the toilet, and.
- 18:06Speaker 2: Okay, don't say.
- 18:07Speaker 10: It's something real quick, go ahead, break here and thank
- 18:10Speaker 10: you so much for.
- 18:11Speaker 4: Letting me much that field short.
- 18:13Speaker 10: But I want to bark and Bobby, you get on
- 18:15Speaker 10: the radio right now, and you are telling the entire
- 18:17Speaker 10: world too about your sex life where you've been.
- 18:20Speaker 4: Oh my god, you're telling everybody about how you bar.
- 18:23Speaker 10: That's what killo, honey, your own radio, that's as.
- 18:28Speaker 4: Your My god, you're on the air talking about Oh
- 18:31Speaker 4: and I barked here and I borrow.
- 18:32Speaker 10: My god, I bark Gary, thank you?
- 18:38Speaker 4: And she called you Gary, Oh my god, that's fine.
- 18:41Speaker 2: Maybe she didn't know the name of the show. One
- 18:43Speaker 2: eight hundred four four six eighty six.
- 18:45Speaker 4: Uh So I want to I want to inject something
- 18:47Speaker 4: in here. If I could, I didn't have much of
- 18:49Speaker 4: a chance to talk. I think, first of all, that
- 18:51Speaker 4: that woman is a wonderful example of a strong woman.
- 18:55Speaker 4: She obviously went through a great deal.
- 18:58Speaker 5: You better believe it. Listening to what and that said.
- 19:00Speaker 5: He said garbage that she was married to shoving her
- 19:02Speaker 5: head in the toilet. Guys like that ought to have
- 19:03Speaker 5: a baseball bat taken at the back of their head
- 19:06Speaker 5: when they least expected, just so their eyes pop right out.
- 19:10Speaker 4: Oh my god, you are violent.
- 19:12Speaker 5: Yeah, that's right when it comes to guys like that. Yeah,
- 19:14Speaker 5: very violent, extremely violent.
- 19:17Speaker 4: Well, she is on the air talking about and oh
- 19:20Speaker 4: and by the way, I barf, I bars.
- 19:24Speaker 2: You know, I haven't heard the word barf since my
- 19:26Speaker 2: like my daughter, what saying the word barf?
- 19:29Speaker 4: So?
- 19:30Speaker 12: So what?
- 19:32Speaker 2: All right?
- 19:32Speaker 5: Hold on for a minute, Bobby Dooley with us from
- 19:34Speaker 5: the parent You can see we're having a very spirited
- 19:36Speaker 5: discussion of divorce.
- 19:38Speaker 2: How does it happen? Why does it happen? Ms.
- 19:40Speaker 5: Dooley doesn't understand she and her husband will never divorce.
- 19:44Speaker 5: She also has said her husband slaps her, but only
- 19:47Speaker 5: if she snores or doesn't.
- 19:49Speaker 9: Courtesy flush Phil Henry Show, you need to check up
- 19:52Speaker 9: from the NECKA.
- 20:01Speaker 5: Phil Hnby Show gets back Bobby Dooley with us from
- 20:04Speaker 5: the Parent Teacher Organization of Western Estates on divorce and
- 20:09Speaker 5: how she can deal with it better the divorces of
- 20:11Speaker 5: parents of the children that she is taking care of
- 20:14Speaker 5: as a PTO member.
- 20:16Speaker 2: You have you intimated? Well, is your husband with you
- 20:19Speaker 2: right now? Is that you? Mister Dooley?
- 20:23Speaker 4: Sure?
- 20:24Speaker 2: All right? I want to talk to you, Bobbie. Are
- 20:25Speaker 2: you guys are sitting together in the hot time?
- 20:27Speaker 4: Yes, And that's why we're really getting a kick out
- 20:30Speaker 4: of everybody calling in and saying, oh my god, you
- 20:33Speaker 4: know you let your husband beat you. I mean, I
- 20:37Speaker 4: am sitting in a hot tub right now with my husband,
- 20:41Speaker 4: who I love and for eighteen years we've been together.
- 20:45Speaker 13: And.
- 20:47Speaker 4: I guess we've just said something special. So that's why
- 20:49Speaker 4: I'm trying to understand this divorce thing.
- 20:51Speaker 5: You said you let him slap you when you snore
- 20:54Speaker 5: and don't courtesy flush.
- 20:57Speaker 4: Two times I snored and I didn't courtesy.
- 21:00Speaker 11: Uh.
- 21:00Speaker 4: Yes, and he has some friends over.
- 21:03Speaker 5: He had some friends over. So you were using the
- 21:05Speaker 5: bathroom you didn't flush to cover up the noise or something.
- 21:07Speaker 4: Yes, And I'm trying not to be graphic, but yes.
- 21:10Speaker 2: So when you came out of the bathroom.
- 21:13Speaker 4: He looked at me and he said, I love you,
- 21:15Speaker 4: but you know what I'm going to do. And I
- 21:16Speaker 4: said yes, and he, you know, back handed me across
- 21:20Speaker 4: the face. But let me tell you something, philm Let
- 21:24Speaker 4: me tell you the secret to a great marriage. Oh man, no,
- 21:27Speaker 4: listen to me. The secret to a great marriage. I
- 21:30Speaker 4: don't care if you're on top of Mount Everest. I
- 21:33Speaker 4: don't care if you're in the deepest, deepest ocean. I
- 21:36Speaker 4: don't care if you're on the moon or you're inside
- 21:39Speaker 4: of you know, the biodome or whatever. Whenever your husband
- 21:43Speaker 4: wants it, you give it to him. And let me
- 21:46Speaker 4: tell you, it can be really great. It's really wonderful.
- 21:52Speaker 2: All right.
- 21:52Speaker 5: I will not comment. I will simply just go to
- 21:54Speaker 5: a phone call. Here we have Lisa. Hi, Lisa, you're
- 21:58Speaker 5: on the Phil Henry Show.
- 22:00Speaker 7: Hi.
- 22:03Speaker 11: I'm stunned. I'm totally stunned at these women this long.
- 22:06Speaker 4: You know, it's like we're.
- 22:11Speaker 11: Okay.
- 22:11Speaker 7: I want to tell you something, lady, I have no
- 22:15Speaker 7: you have no idea what it's like to be ill. Okay,
- 22:19Speaker 7: I have diabetes, psychotopic drugs.
- 22:24Speaker 4: Do you have any people that listen to your programs
- 22:27Speaker 4: they're terminally?
- 22:28Speaker 11: I mean I'm not terminal. I live with vomiting every
- 22:34Speaker 11: day because of the medication that I take God to
- 22:37Speaker 11: be normal.
- 22:38Speaker 4: Boo, who you burn? Boo woo?
- 22:41Speaker 11: Woman, you're fat too, Okay? When you fought? When you thought?
- 22:46Speaker 11: Does your husband slap you?
- 22:48Speaker 4: When I don't courtesy flush?
- 22:50Speaker 11: You know, when you're walking around town or you are
- 22:53Speaker 11: walking down the hall, and because I know you're you're
- 22:57Speaker 11: probably overweight, you're you're drinking diet.
- 23:00Speaker 4: Thank No, I'm actually very I said, I envy that
- 23:02Speaker 4: lady beating eighty six pounds, Are you overweight? I'm won
- 23:06Speaker 4: tin I'm five foot seven. I would hardly say I'm overweight.
- 23:09Speaker 11: I thought you were on the Accents diet.
- 23:11Speaker 4: Yes, I would.
- 23:13Speaker 11: Okay, But when you fart, which is a normal noise
- 23:16Speaker 11: that people make, or you burp, did your husband slap you?
- 23:20Speaker 4: Then, well, what would you expect him to do?
- 23:23Speaker 11: I would accept that him to say to him. Are
- 23:26Speaker 11: you trying to go back him to do that?
- 23:28Speaker 4: Are you trying to tell me that when you walk
- 23:30Speaker 4: around and you cut one that your husband that you
- 23:33Speaker 4: think your husband's supposed to stand there and take it.
- 23:35Speaker 13: Of course, it's a normal bodily function. Us Cooney, Oh
- 23:40Speaker 13: my god, that's cunny have a farting problem? Okay, And
- 23:45Speaker 13: we passed gaff and it is a joke.
- 23:47Speaker 4: What are they coties? What I don't understand.
- 23:50Speaker 11: My last name is Cooney, Lisa Cooney. I'm from Burlingame, California.
- 23:55Speaker 11: I'm passing. My dad is a cancer doctor. And I
- 23:58Speaker 11: want to tell the woman that this call.
- 24:00Speaker 4: So that's really great, Lisa.
- 24:02Speaker 11: I hate everybody growing up and you hard to call
- 24:07Speaker 11: me and I will hold her head. Why she's vomiting
- 24:11Speaker 11: some timo. Okay, you have just said I hope that
- 24:15Speaker 11: you do not live near me and are part of
- 24:18Speaker 11: the Parent Teachers Association in my area.
- 24:21Speaker 4: You're in bog I mean go in California, out will, Lisa?
- 24:24Speaker 4: You know good news for me. I live in southern California,
- 24:27Speaker 4: not in northern California. Thank you Jesus.
- 24:30Speaker 11: So all right, that doesn't want men to hit women.
- 24:34Speaker 2: Hold on, let me let me just say something.
- 24:36Speaker 4: No, I want to. Lisa has just said the entire
- 24:39Speaker 4: Coon family from Berlin game call. You have just embarrassed
- 24:43Speaker 4: your entire family.
- 24:44Speaker 11: No, I didn't.
- 24:46Speaker 2: The family's name is Cooney, not co Well, she embarrasses high.
- 24:50Speaker 4: I'm Lisa Clooney or whatever she.
- 24:53Speaker 2: Said at Cooney. Cooney is an Irish name.
- 24:57Speaker 4: All right, He's a Cooney and hi hire family is disgusting.
- 25:01Speaker 13: No, I didn't know my dad, I said.
- 25:04Speaker 11: My family passes death.
- 25:06Speaker 4: It's the same thing. Oh good, here come the Coonies.
- 25:10Speaker 4: Hold on to your You know what am I supposed
- 25:12Speaker 4: to do? Hold my Nose'll be your Where did your
- 25:15Speaker 4: farts go? You know something?
- 25:17Speaker 11: Where do your farts go? When I have some magic
- 25:21Speaker 11: bodily function that your thoughts don't come out.
- 25:24Speaker 4: You know, something leaves. Though we're two young ladies talking,
- 25:27Speaker 4: I think we can have a little bit more decorum. Secondly,
- 25:31Speaker 4: when I have.
- 25:32Speaker 8: That man making I am probably older than you are,
- 25:37Speaker 8: were speaking well and pissed off at your attitude and.
- 25:43Speaker 11: That children are listening to you. Daughter was in the room.
- 25:47Speaker 11: I had her leave. She's ten years old.
- 25:49Speaker 12: Any man or any boy.
- 25:51Speaker 11: Ever hit her, I would turn into a tigress. Man
- 25:56Speaker 11: you're trying to family would know that I don't approve
- 25:59Speaker 11: of that.
- 26:01Speaker 4: Okay, I go past the clothes bin. Here comes another
- 26:03Speaker 4: coony Okay, thank you all right.
- 26:06Speaker 5: You know, Bobby, this is childish to be even talking
- 26:09Speaker 5: about this. The lady, I think brought it up in
- 26:11Speaker 5: the first place, to say that we're all natural human beings.
- 26:13Speaker 5: We have, you know, we have, we have our good
- 26:16Speaker 5: days and our bad days. Of your husband to slap you,
- 26:19Speaker 5: and to say it's okay to slap you because you
- 26:21Speaker 5: have these foibles, these human foibles, is an unacceptable thing.
- 26:25Speaker 2: She doesn't want her daughter to hear it. She doesn't
- 26:27Speaker 2: want to have impressionable women here that well, you know what,
- 26:30Speaker 2: it's all right to accept the slap of a man.
- 26:33Speaker 4: And yet every day in America. Every day in America,
- 26:36Speaker 4: we have couples divorcing. And Steve and I have been
- 26:38Speaker 4: together for eighteen year. You know I'm able to hold.
- 26:41Speaker 11: By you, thank God. Otherwise they would have killed each other. Okay,
- 26:45Speaker 11: and my brother and I probably would be in metal
- 26:48Speaker 11: wards right now. Oh well, no insight, you'd not gel
- 26:52Speaker 11: like you, but my father second marriage, I've been a
- 26:55Speaker 11: thirty five years.
- 26:56Speaker 4: I'll tell you something. Maybe you should be in a
- 26:58Speaker 4: metal institution, walking around and blasting them out everywhere you go. Open.
- 27:04Speaker 2: Yeah, she thinks it's funny now, you know.
- 27:07Speaker 11: I just think it's just you know what, ma'am. You
- 27:10Speaker 11: are sorry Lisa A little tonight, I'm gonna say a
- 27:17Speaker 11: prayer for you, ma'am that God forgive you for what
- 27:22Speaker 11: you are and what you're doing to the children of
- 27:25Speaker 11: this country. That people like you should be locked up somewhere.
- 27:31Speaker 4: Lisa, you're a because you're part and that is the
- 27:34Speaker 4: bottom line. How do you Lisa makes more bubbles than
- 27:37Speaker 4: the hot Cupsteed?
- 27:39Speaker 11: Hey, whatever your name is, you fart too?
- 27:44Speaker 13: Are your husband far?
- 27:45Speaker 7: Or do you give this your.
- 27:49Speaker 4: Do you remember that movie The Fighting Sullivans. They should
- 27:51Speaker 4: have one called the farting coonyes.
- 27:54Speaker 5: All right, you know what this is turned into an
- 27:57Speaker 5: absolute no kidding. I thought this was serious as well,
- 28:01Speaker 5: and this is turned into some kind of thing.
- 28:03Speaker 4: No.
- 28:03Speaker 2: I am a beat all right, Lisa, thank you.
- 28:06Speaker 5: Let me move on here to another call, and I
- 28:07Speaker 5: need to keep these calls shorter, miss, miss Dooley. Melinda,
- 28:10Speaker 5: go ahead, well, and that means I need for you
- 28:13Speaker 5: to let the callers speak and you speak less. Go ahead, Melinda.
- 28:17Speaker 6: Thanks though, Hey, Miss Dewley, I am absolutely appalled that
- 28:20Speaker 6: you would advocate or condone that abuse in any circumstance.
- 28:25Speaker 4: I don't okay. I don't mean you're saying that.
- 28:27Speaker 6: It's okay that your husband slaps you. There's no difference
- 28:30Speaker 6: in the explanation of violence.
- 28:32Speaker 4: I don't know, okay, I don't think it's the same thing.
- 28:35Speaker 6: You're saying that abuse and slapping are two different things.
- 28:38Speaker 4: Yeah? Absolutely? Do you know?
- 28:39Speaker 6: Do you know how the law defines it?
- 28:41Speaker 9: Man?
- 28:42Speaker 4: Did you say your name is Mike or Melinda?
- 28:43Speaker 11: I don't, wow?
- 28:45Speaker 2: What is that.
- 28:47Speaker 3: Supposed to mean?
- 28:48Speaker 4: Well? I think we know what we're dealing with here, right, Melinda?
- 28:51Speaker 6: Come on, come on, say wow, you're no ma'am absolutely not,
- 28:58Speaker 6: because I'm confident, because I'm educated. Do you have a
- 29:01Speaker 6: problem with that?
- 29:01Speaker 5: No?
- 29:02Speaker 6: But I don't your husband on the.
- 29:06Speaker 4: Rocky Mountain lesbian here? Now do we or do we not?
- 29:10Speaker 2: Do you just get you know something?
- 29:13Speaker 6: The orientation has anything to do with you condoning violence.
- 29:16Speaker 6: And I asked you a question that you didn't respond to.
- 29:19Speaker 6: I said, how do you think the law defines abuse?
- 29:21Speaker 2: Good questions?
- 29:22Speaker 6: Do you think they just differentiate between a flap and
- 29:24Speaker 6: a punch or a slap and hitting somebody with a hammer?
- 29:27Speaker 6: And at what point when when this violence continues to escalate?
- 29:31Speaker 6: Is when you're saying it's okay. You're saying it's okay
- 29:33Speaker 6: for women to accept that under any circumstance. And the
- 29:37Speaker 6: items that you're using are incredibly trivial. Whether or not
- 29:40Speaker 6: it's passing gas, whether it's not a courtesy push, or
- 29:42Speaker 6: whether it's not you forgot to lock the front door
- 29:44Speaker 6: or turn off the still, it doesn't matter. You're saying
- 29:46Speaker 6: that it's okay, and I'm asking how does the law
- 29:49Speaker 6: differentiate between that?
- 29:52Speaker 5: I It's a good question, was Duley, How does the
- 29:54Speaker 5: law define it? Because that's what we got to talk about.
- 29:58Speaker 4: I you know I think you put me. You know something,
- 30:01Speaker 4: I think you've put me. First of all, your issue
- 30:06Speaker 4: with men stems from your orientation. That's number one. Number two.
- 30:10Speaker 6: A minute, you're talking quite one thing, and I'm talking
- 30:13Speaker 6: about people being abused, and you know what if you
- 30:15Speaker 6: want to cross that border and talk about in any
- 30:18Speaker 6: interpersonal relationship, at what point does abuse become okay? And
- 30:22Speaker 6: why does the law define it?
- 30:24Speaker 4: You may understand he had a room full of poker buddies.
- 30:27Speaker 4: They were trying to enjoy the game. I'm in there making.
- 30:30Speaker 6: Every so you're saying there there are guidelines and the
- 30:33Speaker 6: lawnchit cater to when women are slapped and differentiates in
- 30:36Speaker 6: a punch and whether or not people are present.
- 30:38Speaker 2: See a CoP's gonna come, Bobby.
- 30:40Speaker 4: And excuse me. But I was talking to manny, I
- 30:42Speaker 4: wasn't talking to you.
- 30:43Speaker 5: And the many crack she gets to her name is Melinda.
- 30:47Speaker 5: Are we gonna be adults here? We're gonna sit in
- 30:49Speaker 5: the hot top and make jokes about whatever? God like,
- 30:55Speaker 5: mister Delia, I was wondering.
- 30:57Speaker 3: If bolitics swinglow, Sweet.
- 30:58Speaker 2: Carriot, I think she's hung up. She hung up? We
- 31:05Speaker 2: lost her all right? Uh?
- 31:06Speaker 4: Oh? Are you kidding.
- 31:07Speaker 2: She's gone, yeah, well, I mean she's gone like Crystal,
- 31:14Speaker 2: are you there?
