- 0:00SPEAKER_02: I do have to laugh, admittedly, Tiffany, you know, 60-59, my Tiffany.
- 0:03SPEAKER_02: She goes, I need a mental health month along with sleep.
- 0:07SPEAKER_02: Well, all right, you do deserve that after what you've been going through.
- 0:10SPEAKER_00: Uh also.
- 0:11SPEAKER_02: And that's not a reference to me, jackasses.
- 0:13SPEAKER_00: Oh, it's not?
- 0:14SPEAKER_02: No.
- 0:14SPEAKER_00: Oh, that's what I thought it was.
- 0:16SPEAKER_02: No.
- 0:17SPEAKER_02: She's had other things going on.
- 0:19SPEAKER_00: Oh, like what?
- 0:20SPEAKER_02: Oh, it's like her mom passing away.
- 0:22SPEAKER_02: Jeez.
- 0:22SPEAKER_02: I'm kidding.
- 0:23SPEAKER_02: Oh, yeah, yeah.
- 0:24SPEAKER_02: Sure I had fuel, but you know.
- 0:26SPEAKER_01: And she all she's always working till seven.
- 0:28SPEAKER_01: I know.
- 0:28SPEAKER_01: Don't they have somebody else?
- 0:30SPEAKER_02: You would think, but she's like, but it's money.
- 0:31SPEAKER_02: And I'm like, yeah.
- 0:32SPEAKER_01: Oh, so she takes it.
- 0:34SPEAKER_01: Sometimes.
- 0:35SPEAKER_02: Sometimes she's a sign, sometimes she takes it.
- 0:37SPEAKER_01: I see why.
- 0:38SPEAKER_01: Because also she is the person.
- 0:40SPEAKER_02: Because yeah.
- 0:41SPEAKER_02: She's also the I am expensive.
- 0:43SPEAKER_01: She also is the person.
- 0:44SPEAKER_01: Oh yes.
- 0:45SPEAKER_01: Oh, she's your sugar mama.
- 0:46SPEAKER_02: Yeah, damn right.
- 0:47SPEAKER_02: Uh, but uh also she's one of those people that, you know, there's people, they just decide not to do it.
- 0:54SPEAKER_02: So of course she's like, I'll do it.
- 0:56SPEAKER_01: Don't they have a system?
- 0:58SPEAKER_02: Well, yeah, but apparently that piece of the system's not enforced.
- 1:01SPEAKER_01: Well, speaking of systems, I said whenever you're sick, is it you have to text or you have to call?
- 1:06SPEAKER_01: Well, if you're a boss, what would you prefer to get?
- 1:08SPEAKER_01: Do you want to get a call so that you can hear me go, I'm sick.
- 1:12SPEAKER_02: And you have to think of this in the sense of I number, yeah, that well, that was more real than not.
- 1:18SPEAKER_02: Uh, I have you have to think of this in the sense of two things.
- 1:21SPEAKER_02: Yes, I know it's 2026.
- 1:23SPEAKER_02: Everybody texts in that they're not coming in.
- 1:25SPEAKER_02: But I'm railing.
- 1:26SPEAKER_02: But the thing about it is, is put yourself in the mind of the manager.
- 1:31SPEAKER_02: Don't put yourself in the mind of just me getting everything I want because I'm me.
- 1:36SPEAKER_01: Here's a good one.
- 1:38SPEAKER_01: I do love this one from Carrie.
- 1:40SPEAKER_01: My job has a point system where if we don't call in, we get a half a point.
- 1:44SPEAKER_01: So if they text in, then they get that that's a different point, it sounds like.
- 1:49SPEAKER_01: So I'm guessing that like you lose points?
- 1:52SPEAKER_01: That's my guess.
- 1:53SPEAKER_01: I like this.
- 1:54SPEAKER_01: I kind of do too.
- 1:56SPEAKER_01: Also, I want to say something that I think is the obvious because we used to have a much bigger staff, and calling was something that yes, of course you want.
- 2:05SPEAKER_01: When we had like Chase and Eric and Sean, and yeah, we had a bunch of people.
- 2:09SPEAKER_01: So yeah.
- 2:10SPEAKER_01: Samantha and blah, blah, blah, blah.
- 2:12SPEAKER_01: Um, you want to hear their voice.
- 2:13SPEAKER_01: You want to hear, and that's also because with more people, I think that there is a little bit less trust.
- 2:20SPEAKER_01: When now, if for us, it's a little bit more of a skeleton crew, or maybe you have a very trustworthy crew.
- 2:25SPEAKER_01: If you have a really dedicated, loyal, trustworthy crew, then you're like, just text me.
- 2:30SPEAKER_01: Well, you're fine.
- 2:31SPEAKER_02: We've been around each other for 20 years.
- 2:33SPEAKER_01: We know if we're sick, we're sick.
- 2:35SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 2:35SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 2:36SPEAKER_01: But if it's something where there is, and you have to think like Zaxon Manufacturing.
- 2:41SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 2:42SPEAKER_02: So people are hands on deck or dang close to it.
- 2:46SPEAKER_01: Not even that, but the amount of people that call off and his sector is wild to me.
- 2:54SPEAKER_00: Yep.
- 2:54SPEAKER_01: Like these people are calling off on the daily.
- 2:56SPEAKER_01: And I'm like, if you if I called off every day, I wouldn't have a freaking job.
- 3:00SPEAKER_02: I love this.
- 3:01SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I can't even tell you how many times I'm like, yeah, get a point system and get rid of them.
- 3:07SPEAKER_01: I have no, I have no, I have no.
- 3:09SPEAKER_01: Uh Kathy said, I have an hour drive to work and I need an hour to get ready in the morning.
- 3:14SPEAKER_01: If I am sick and I'm going to stay home, I usually know by two or three in the morning.
- 3:18SPEAKER_01: That's actually similar to Scott and I.
- 3:20SPEAKER_01: Yeah, that's a nod.
- 3:21SPEAKER_02: We have we welcome to our weird schedule, Kathy.
- 3:24SPEAKER_01: We will text each other if we've been up, like throwing up or something.
- 3:27SPEAKER_01: I will text him at three.
- 3:28SPEAKER_01: So when he wakes up, he gets it.
- 3:30SPEAKER_01: And it's, hey, I'm sick.
- 3:32SPEAKER_01: And he knows I really am like throwing up all night.
- 3:34SPEAKER_01: Kathy also said, part two.
- 3:35SPEAKER_01: I love that she said part two.
- 3:37SPEAKER_01: I am sending that text at two or three also because at six or seven, when it's acceptable, I'm gonna be sleeping.
- 3:42SPEAKER_01: That's the exact same as us, too.
- 3:44SPEAKER_01: We will go back to sleep and be like, I'm gonna go.
- 3:47SPEAKER_02: Kathy's a bit of an exception to the rule.
- 3:49SPEAKER_02: I'm talking let's think the eight to threeers, the nine to fiveers, the seven to three.
- 3:54SPEAKER_02: You know what I mean?
- 3:54SPEAKER_02: Think if they that's a you're you're a bit of a weird exception uh to that because again, you're working.
- 4:01SPEAKER_02: God, you're up earlier than I am, and that makes me tired.
- 4:04SPEAKER_01: Let me say this from Samantha.
- 4:05SPEAKER_01: I've had a rough week.
- 4:06SPEAKER_01: So yesterday I simply texted my boss, I'm not coming in today.
- 4:10SPEAKER_01: Zero explanation.
- 4:11SPEAKER_01: I don't owe them an ex explanation.
- 4:13SPEAKER_01: You know, I'm not gonna be able to do that.
- 4:14SPEAKER_01: You're right, and you know what?
- 4:15SPEAKER_02: They don't they don't owe you a paycheck if you keep doing it too much.
- 4:19SPEAKER_01: Right, if you do it too much.
- 4:21SPEAKER_01: But maybe she's one of the Yeah, it's Samantha.
- 4:26SPEAKER_02: No, it's because your name's Samantha.
- 4:27SPEAKER_02: I I I I get you.
- 4:29SPEAKER_02: You're you're you're this much entitled.
- 4:32SPEAKER_01: That's not even true.
- 4:33SPEAKER_01: Just this much.
- 4:34SPEAKER_01: Wait, wait, he's totally pigeonholing this on an old co-worker that we had who sucked.
- 4:38SPEAKER_02: No, no, I didn't even think of her.
- 4:39SPEAKER_02: I'm just thinking of that.
- 4:44SPEAKER_02: What's Samantha's data year of birth?
- 4:46SPEAKER_01: 89.
- 4:47SPEAKER_02: I take it back, Samantha.
- 4:49SPEAKER_02: You're of an age group that you should know better.
- 4:52SPEAKER_02: But if you If you were born in 2000, I don't know, one, I would have said, okay, the world slightly revolves around you in your mind.
- 5:00SPEAKER_01: Also, I like this one.
- 5:02SPEAKER_01: I'm with Kathy, I'm sending emails at 3 a.m.
- 5:05SPEAKER_01: toddlers puke at the worst time.
- 5:06SPEAKER_02: Oh, well, that's true too.
- 5:08SPEAKER_01: And then you're gonna go back to sleep.
- 5:09SPEAKER_01: When your toddler goes back to sleep, you go back to sleep.
- 5:12SPEAKER_02: Hold on.
- 5:12SPEAKER_02: You just took it to a different level.
- 5:13SPEAKER_02: You said I'm sending emails.
- 5:15SPEAKER_02: Oh, so email's okay.
- 5:17SPEAKER_02: An email is more okay.
- 5:19SPEAKER_02: Here's the order of I know you're a dedicated person.
- 5:22SPEAKER_02: This is the thought of a manager.
- 5:23SPEAKER_02: You have to think of this.
- 5:25SPEAKER_02: We're asking you to think of it on the other side, not the employee.
- 5:28SPEAKER_02: The world owes me something.
- 5:30SPEAKER_02: Yeah, phone call, top of the mountain.
- 5:33SPEAKER_02: That way I know you're you're decent enough to go, hey Chad.
- 5:37SPEAKER_02: I don't know why Chad's the name of the day.
- 5:39SPEAKER_02: Boss Ched, I just feel I got razor blades in the throat.
- 5:42SPEAKER_02: Can't do it today.
- 5:43SPEAKER_02: Okay, you know what?
- 5:44SPEAKER_02: Stay home.
- 5:45SPEAKER_02: We all don't need it.
- 5:46SPEAKER_02: Yep, get out of here.
- 5:47SPEAKER_02: Email, second, right below that.
- 5:50SPEAKER_02: Because for you to take the time to send an email, you get a little bit more than just and not coming in.
- 5:56SPEAKER_01: And not coming in.
- 5:58SPEAKER_01: I think that of course we all know it's a balance.
- 6:01SPEAKER_01: Unfortunately, some employees don't know it's a balance.
- 6:04SPEAKER_01: That's right.
- 6:04SPEAKER_02: Then that's what it comes to.
- 6:05SPEAKER_02: That's why we need to go to a point system.
- 6:07SPEAKER_02: You get seven points taken away, you're fired! And three, two, one.
- 6:12SPEAKER_02: You're listening to Scott and Allie.
- 6:14SPEAKER_02: Scott and Allie's big three.
- 6:15SPEAKER_01: I and not that I like want to live and die by this, but a lot of companies used to have kind of like a three strikes and you're out.
- 6:21SPEAKER_01: They write you up three times, and then on the fourth one, you're out type thing.
- 6:25SPEAKER_01: And I don't hate that either.
- 6:27SPEAKER_01: I know we have to have the balance of accepting uh families and sicknesses and and being a little bit more malleable.
- 6:33SPEAKER_01: But what I do think is is that you have to have some boundaries, or you're gonna end up being like places where you can call off 23 times.
- 6:44SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 6:44SPEAKER_01: And guess what?
- 6:45SPEAKER_01: I have I'm talking to Ched in his office because I'm doing Trevor's work.
- 6:50SPEAKER_01: Because this butthole He only texts every day.
- 6:54SPEAKER_02: Samantha got bent out of shape, but it's all good now.
- 6:56SPEAKER_02: She goes, first time that I called in in 2026, dead serious.
- 7:00SPEAKER_02: But guess what, Samantha?
- 7:01SPEAKER_02: You didn't call.
- 7:03SPEAKER_02: You can't say you called in, you texted in.
- 7:05SPEAKER_01: I believe you.
- 7:06SPEAKER_01: I do too.
- 7:07SPEAKER_01: Because I love Samantha's.
- 7:08SPEAKER_01: I'm a big Sam fan.
- 7:09SPEAKER_01: Sam fan.
- 7:11SPEAKER_01: Oh, the big three is brought to you by ENV Energy with these cooler temps.
- 7:16SPEAKER_01: It's a nice reminder to call ENV Energy for delivering your propane, fuel oil, kerosene to your home, farm, or business.
- 7:24SPEAKER_01: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addressed the UN General Assembly Thursday amid some uh, let's just say condemnation, as many delegates walked out saying we will continue to defend our state.
- 7:37SPEAKER_01: He declared, and thanked President Trump for bold leadership.
- 7:41SPEAKER_01: He also targeted the New York City mayor, you know, Zoran Mandami, calling him anti-Semitic for labeling him a war criminal.
- 7:48SPEAKER_01: Quote, war criminal.
- 7:50SPEAKER_01: A federal judge temporarily blocked President Trump's ban on CNN, MS Now, and Politico from White House grounds on Thursday.
- 7:59SPEAKER_01: The judge, Tim Kelly, he ruled the outlets were likely denied due process, noting the ban appeared motivated by coverage displeasure, not national security, that was said.
- 8:11SPEAKER_01: Reporters regained access by midday.
- 8:13SPEAKER_01: The order remains in place for 14 days.
- 8:16SPEAKER_01: And a major nor'easter is threatening millions along the northeast coast.
- 8:20SPEAKER_01: I am excited.
- 8:22SPEAKER_01: I'll tell you why in a minute.
- 8:24SPEAKER_01: Bringing heavy rain, dangerous winds, coastal flooding.
- 8:27SPEAKER_01: We're talking four to six inches of rain from Boston and Long Island.
- 8:31SPEAKER_01: Wind gusts 60 miles per hour along Massachusetts.
- 8:34SPEAKER_01: It's gonna be where's the arc?
- 8:36SPEAKER_01: Where's where's Mother Nature's blowing?
- 8:39SPEAKER_02: Oh, I'll tell you why I'm so excited in America.
- 8:41SPEAKER_01: Okay, there's the big three.
