- 0:01SPEAKER_00: Hello, everyone, and welcome back to the Astrology for Beginners podcast.
- 0:07SPEAKER_00: I'm your host, Stefanie Kate Boucher, and I am so glad you're here.
- 0:11SPEAKER_00: This is the podcast for you if you've ever been curious about astrology,
- 0:15SPEAKER_00: if you've wanted to understand your natal chart or make sense of what's happening in
- 0:19SPEAKER_00: the sky,
- 0:20SPEAKER_00: but maybe it's felt overwhelming, complicated, or hard to know where to begin.
- 0:26SPEAKER_00: My goal here is to break things down in a way that's clear,
- 0:29SPEAKER_00: grounded,
- 0:30SPEAKER_00: and completely usable in real life so that over time,
- 0:34SPEAKER_00: you begin to understand your own chart and the language of the stars.
- 0:39SPEAKER_00: Thank you so much for being here and sharing your time with me.
- 0:43SPEAKER_00: Hey everyone, welcome back.
- 0:45SPEAKER_00: This is Astrology for Beginners and we are here,
- 0:49SPEAKER_00: as promised,
- 0:50SPEAKER_00: to talk about the lunar eclipse in Pisces that is happening on August 28th.
- 0:57SPEAKER_00: I kind of want to jump right in here, but before I do, I have one quick announcement.
- 1:02SPEAKER_00: If you've been listening for a while or following me on Substack,
- 1:06SPEAKER_00: you may have noticed that I really like working with the moon.
- 1:10SPEAKER_00: I love working with the lunar cycle,
- 1:12SPEAKER_00: I host a virtual moon circle at each new moon,
- 1:15SPEAKER_00: and I follow the moon pretty closely in my own life for all sorts of things.
- 1:21SPEAKER_00: But beyond the lunar cycle,
- 1:23SPEAKER_00: your natal moon is also one of the most important placements in your birth chart.
- 1:29SPEAKER_00: It tells us a lot about your emotional nature,
- 1:32SPEAKER_00: how you instinctively respond to things,
- 1:35SPEAKER_00: what helps you feel safe and regulated,
- 1:39SPEAKER_00: how you experience your emotions in everyday life,
- 1:43SPEAKER_00: and even some of the ways in which you attach to people and circumstances.
- 1:48SPEAKER_00: And next month on September 22nd and 23rd,
- 1:53SPEAKER_00: I'm hosting a two-part virtual workshop with my friends over at Tending
- 1:57SPEAKER_00: the Sacred called The Moon and Your Nervous System,
- 2:01SPEAKER_00: Understanding Your Emotional Wiring.
- 2:04SPEAKER_00: And in this workshop,
- 2:05SPEAKER_00: we're going to use the moon in your birth chart as a lens for understanding some
- 2:09SPEAKER_00: of those emotional and nervous system patterns,
- 2:13SPEAKER_00: why certain situations affect you more strongly than others,
- 2:17SPEAKER_00: your instinctive reaction.
- 2:27We'll talk about moon signs,
- 2:28SPEAKER_00: house placements,
- 2:29SPEAKER_00: and aspects,
- 2:31SPEAKER_00: but you definitely do not need to be an astrology expert in order to join us.
- 2:36SPEAKER_00: The whole idea is to use astrology as a tool
- 2:39SPEAKER_00: for understanding your own emotional patterns a little more deeply and Learning how
- 2:43SPEAKER_00: to work with them rather than against them.
- 2:46SPEAKER_00: I'll put a link in the show notes for more information about that if you want
- 2:51SPEAKER_00: to check it out or if you'd like to register.
- 2:54SPEAKER_00: Okay, let's talk about this eclipse.
- 2:57SPEAKER_00: First, what is happening at this eclipse?
- 3:01SPEAKER_00: What's going on?
- 3:02SPEAKER_00: We've heard a lot about this.
- 3:04SPEAKER_00: It seems like everywhere lately already.
- 3:07SPEAKER_00: Let's talk about the nuts and bolts here.
- 3:09SPEAKER_00: This lunar eclipse will happen at 4 degrees or just under 5 degrees of Pisces.
- 3:17SPEAKER_00: Now, as always, a lunar eclipse is essentially just a supercharged full moon.
- 3:25SPEAKER_00: The sun and the moon are exactly opposite each other in the sky,
- 3:29SPEAKER_00: and the full moon is happening close enough to the lunar nodes to create an eclipse.
- 3:36SPEAKER_00: Now, all full moons tend to illuminate things.
- 3:40SPEAKER_00: They take things we couldn't see before and make them visible.
- 3:44SPEAKER_00: So that could be information,
- 3:46SPEAKER_00: new perspectives,
- 3:48SPEAKER_00: or circumstances that we weren't necessarily aware of up to that point.
- 3:53SPEAKER_00: They can also take things that seemed vague or confusing
- 3:57SPEAKER_00: and suddenly make them clearer or more definitive.
- 4:02SPEAKER_00: Full moons are also a time of release,
- 4:06SPEAKER_00: so they can bring culmination or completion of something that you've been working on
- 4:11SPEAKER_00: that maybe is ready to either be put down or shared with other people.
- 4:18SPEAKER_00: And so lunar eclipses do all of this too,
- 4:22SPEAKER_00: but again,
- 4:23SPEAKER_00: on a really supercharged level where timelines get sped up
- 4:27SPEAKER_00: or circumstances get shaken up a little bit.
- 4:31SPEAKER_00: And eclipses can often be the points in our lives where we pivot in new
- 4:36SPEAKER_00: or different directions.
- 4:38SPEAKER_00: Now, there are north node eclipses and south node eclipses.
- 4:42SPEAKER_00: The solar eclipse that we just had a couple of weeks ago in Leo was
- 4:46SPEAKER_00: a south node eclipse, which,
- 4:48SPEAKER_00: you know,
- 4:49SPEAKER_00: those can tend to be about releasing or letting go of what's finished or completed
- 4:55SPEAKER_00: or no longer serving us as we move forward.
- 5:00SPEAKER_00: But this particular eclipse happens near the North Node.
- 5:04SPEAKER_00: And the North Node points towards growth,
- 5:08SPEAKER_00: development,
- 5:09SPEAKER_00: stepping into unfamiliar territory,
- 5:12SPEAKER_00: and just generally the direction that we're moving toward.
- 5:16SPEAKER_00: This is the room that you step into when you walk through a doorway, right?
- 5:22SPEAKER_00: You don't always know what's on the other side.
- 5:26SPEAKER_00: So even though this is a full moon,
- 5:28SPEAKER_00: which we often associate with endings or culminations,
- 5:32SPEAKER_00: kind of like the south node,
- 5:33SPEAKER_00: this eclipse actually has a very future-oriented quality to it.
- 5:39SPEAKER_00: So something could be reaching a turning point because we're ready to move
- 5:43SPEAKER_00: into something new and potentially unknown.
- 5:47SPEAKER_00: Now this is true not just because it's a North Node lunar eclipse,
- 5:52SPEAKER_00: but also because the rest of the chart at that time supports that hypothesis.
- 5:58SPEAKER_00: So again, let's talk about the astrological qualities of this eclipse first and most notably.
- 6:07SPEAKER_00: The eclipse is square, Uranus.
- 6:11SPEAKER_00: The full moon, or rather the sun and the moon, opposition, forms a T-square with this planet.
- 6:19SPEAKER_00: And it's a really tight square.
- 6:21SPEAKER_00: At the time of the eclipse, the moon is between 4 to 5 degrees Pisces.
- 6:26SPEAKER_00: The sun, of course, because it's a full moon, is exactly opposite at about 4 to 5 degrees Virgo.
- 6:33SPEAKER_00: And Uranus is at five degrees Gemini.
- 6:36SPEAKER_00: So this is an extremely tight square.
- 6:38SPEAKER_00: Again, that opposition tension created by the full moon gets resolved by funneling
- 6:45SPEAKER_00: that tension towards that planet.
- 6:50SPEAKER_00: If you know anything about Uranus, you probably already know where I'm going with this, right?
- 6:55SPEAKER_00: Uranus is associated with disruption,
- 6:57SPEAKER_00: surprise,
- 6:59SPEAKER_00: breakthroughs,
- 7:00SPEAKER_00: sudden changes,
- 7:01SPEAKER_00: and all the things that can break us out of an established pattern
- 7:07SPEAKER_00: or some status quo.
- 7:09SPEAKER_00: This, of course, can make us feel different ways at different times.
- 7:14SPEAKER_00: Sometimes Uranus is very exciting.
- 7:16SPEAKER_00: Sometimes it's liberating and it frees you from something.
- 7:20SPEAKER_00: Sometimes it's really disruptive or even feels really jarring.
- 7:24SPEAKER_00: And sometimes it's all of the above at the exact same time.
- 7:28SPEAKER_00: So when Uranus gets involved in an eclipse,
- 7:32SPEAKER_00: which is already by its very nature associated with periods of accelerated change
- 7:37SPEAKER_00: and shakeups, We get an eclipse that feels particularly unpredictable.
- 7:44SPEAKER_00: So something may not go according to plan.
- 7:47SPEAKER_00: Right?
- 7:48SPEAKER_00: Some life circumstance might change.
- 7:52SPEAKER_00: Maybe quickly.
- 7:53SPEAKER_00: Something unexpected could pop up.
- 7:56SPEAKER_00: Or not.
- 7:57SPEAKER_00: Or not.
- 7:58SPEAKER_00: And we may just realize that the way we've been looking at something
- 8:02SPEAKER_00: or some perspective we've been holding onto isn't working for us anymore.
- 8:06SPEAKER_00: Right?
- 8:08SPEAKER_00: Now, also with this eclipse, we have to consider Mercury.
- 8:12SPEAKER_00: Mercury is also a very important part of this eclipse because at the time of
- 8:18SPEAKER_00: the eclipse,
- 8:19SPEAKER_00: Mercury is in Virgo,
- 8:20SPEAKER_00: tightly conjunct the sun, which means it's also directly opposite the moon.
- 8:26SPEAKER_00: And Mercury will have just been Kazemi within that same day,
- 8:30SPEAKER_00: really, meaning that it has just made an exact conjunction with the sun.
- 8:35SPEAKER_00: It's been at the heart of the sun.
- 8:37SPEAKER_00: Which gives this planet maximum clarity of purpose.
- 8:42SPEAKER_00: Kazemi periods can bring moments of clarity around whatever planet is Kazemi.
- 8:47SPEAKER_00: So with Mercury, it's,
- 8:48SPEAKER_00: you know,
- 8:49SPEAKER_00: clarity around mercurial things like information,
- 8:52SPEAKER_00: conversations, decisions, ideas, understanding.
- 8:57SPEAKER_00: This is a moment like fumbling around in a dark room, trying to feel your way through.
- 9:05SPEAKER_00: And then someone flicks on a light switch, right?
- 9:08SPEAKER_00: It can be that kind of clarity about something.
- 9:10SPEAKER_00: And it can be anything, really.
- 9:13SPEAKER_00: So there could be something around that time
- 9:17SPEAKER_00: when something suddenly feels much less confusing or you see it kind
- 9:23SPEAKER_00: of differently now.
- 9:25SPEAKER_00: Now, of course,
- 9:26SPEAKER_00: because Mercury is still conjunct the Sun and the Sun is square Uranus,
- 9:30SPEAKER_00: that means Mercury is square Uranus too.
- 9:33SPEAKER_00: Mercury is...
- 9:35SPEAKER_00: Also making an almost exact square to Uranus.
- 9:38SPEAKER_00: So again, this is sudden shifts in understanding.
- 9:42SPEAKER_00: Sudden shifts that take place around something mercurial.
- 9:48SPEAKER_00: Like an enlightening or important conversation.
- 9:52SPEAKER_00: Getting the information from someone that you need in order to take the next step.
- 9:57SPEAKER_00: Some piece of information that helps you finally make a decision.
- 10:02SPEAKER_00: Some opinion that is shared with you that changes the way you see something
- 10:06SPEAKER_00: or changes the direction you thought you'd take.
- 10:10SPEAKER_00: Something learned that changes the story.
- 10:13SPEAKER_00: Those are the lines of thinking that I think that you can consider this week.
- 10:20SPEAKER_00: So because Mercury is about our understanding of things,
- 10:23SPEAKER_00: it's the intellect,
- 10:24SPEAKER_00: it's our thinking and communication,
- 10:27SPEAKER_00: it feels like something along the lines of, oh...
- 10:32SPEAKER_00: I didn't realize this.
- 10:33SPEAKER_00: Now I get it.
- 10:35SPEAKER_00: I understand now.
- 10:36SPEAKER_00: That kind of changes things, right?
- 10:40SPEAKER_00: Now, it doesn't always mean that the actual circumstances have changed.
- 10:45SPEAKER_00: It could.
- 10:45SPEAKER_00: It could mean that.
- 10:47SPEAKER_00: But it could also just mean that our perception of something changes.
- 10:52SPEAKER_00: Like a why didn't I see that before moment.
- 10:56SPEAKER_00: And then you can't really go back to the way you saw it before.
- 11:00SPEAKER_00: You know, you can't unsee it.
- 11:02SPEAKER_00: You can't unknow.
- 11:04SPEAKER_00: That feels very much to me like Mercury Square Uranus.
- 11:08SPEAKER_00: Mercury Square Uranus is very paradigm shifting energy.
- 11:14SPEAKER_00: It disrupts our mental frameworks.
- 11:16SPEAKER_00: It disrupts the frameworks we use to understand our lives.
- 11:22SPEAKER_00: And because all of this is happening across the signs of Virgo, Pisces,
- 11:27SPEAKER_00: and Gemini,
- 11:28SPEAKER_00: these are all mutable signs,
- 11:30SPEAKER_00: there's an enormous theme here around adapting to Learning to change,
- 11:35SPEAKER_00: learning to adapt, being flexible, right?
- 11:38SPEAKER_00: We may need to pivot, change course, or just, you know, adjust what we're doing.
- 11:44SPEAKER_00: We can't get stuck on one particular way of being,
- 11:48SPEAKER_00: one plan, one acceptable outcome alone, right?
- 11:53SPEAKER_00: This is not the time to stay fixed.
- 11:56SPEAKER_00: That will only cause us frustration right now.
- 11:59SPEAKER_00: We're much better served to stay fluid and,
- 12:03SPEAKER_00: you know,
- 12:03SPEAKER_00: Actually,
- 12:04SPEAKER_00: if there's anything that Pisces,
- 12:05SPEAKER_00: because this is a Pisces eclipse,
- 12:07SPEAKER_00: after all, if there's anything that Pisces does extremely well, it's staying fluid.
- 12:12SPEAKER_00: That's mutable water.
- 12:14SPEAKER_00: And that brings us back to the axis that we're actually working with
- 12:17SPEAKER_00: for this eclipse, Virgo Pisces.
- 12:20SPEAKER_00: Virgo...
- 12:21SPEAKER_00: We just talked about, right, in our last episode, Virgo likes a plan.
- 12:25SPEAKER_00: Virgo wants to understand what's happening, exactly what's happening.
- 12:30SPEAKER_00: It wants the details.
- 12:31SPEAKER_00: It wants to organize all the little pieces,
- 12:34SPEAKER_00: fix things, improve things, and know what's coming next.
- 12:38SPEAKER_00: But again, Pisces functions very differently.
- 12:43SPEAKER_00: Full moons are oppositions, so there's always this tension inherent in them.
- 12:48SPEAKER_00: Pisces is about flow, and it wants to just trust the process.
- 12:55SPEAKER_00: It wants to have faith.
- 12:56SPEAKER_00: It wants to flow with whatever is taking place,
- 13:01SPEAKER_00: even when,
- 13:02SPEAKER_00: you know,
- 13:02SPEAKER_00: it doesn't know with any real certainty exactly where something is going
- 13:06SPEAKER_00: before moving toward it, right?
- 13:08SPEAKER_00: Like, we don't know how this is going to turn out.
- 13:10SPEAKER_00: We actually have no idea.
- 13:12SPEAKER_00: And, you know, Pisces is okay with that.
- 13:15SPEAKER_00: Now, that's the role Pisces plays here,
- 13:18SPEAKER_00: but if this unnerves you,
- 13:20SPEAKER_00: because it can feel unnerving for many of us,
- 13:22SPEAKER_00: particularly if you have a lot of fixed signs or Earth in your chart,
- 13:26SPEAKER_00: it may help you to know that this eclipse chart also gives us
- 13:31SPEAKER_00: a really helpful outlet here as well.
- 13:33SPEAKER_00: There are things inherent in this chart that you can actually do,
- 13:37SPEAKER_00: because what's also happening here is that the moon in Pisces is trine,
- 13:42SPEAKER_00: Mars, and Cancer.
- 13:44SPEAKER_00: Mars gives us something to do.
- 13:46SPEAKER_00: It tells us that we can take action.
- 13:49SPEAKER_00: And in fact, taking action is kind of inevitable here.
- 13:52SPEAKER_00: You know, Mars and Cancer is forming a lovely flowing trine with the eclipse moon.
- 13:59SPEAKER_00: This is so nice,
- 13:59SPEAKER_00: you know,
- 14:00SPEAKER_00: because without Mars,
- 14:01SPEAKER_00: this eclipse could feel potentially much more disruptive,
- 14:06SPEAKER_00: I think, given that Uranus influence.
- 14:08SPEAKER_00: You know, it's like having all this disruption and being like, oh, okay, now what?
- 14:13SPEAKER_00: But Mars, this nice trine with Mars, gives us somewhere...
- 14:18SPEAKER_00: For that energy to go.
- 14:21SPEAKER_00: We know Mars likes action, right?
- 14:22SPEAKER_00: It wants to move.
- 14:23SPEAKER_00: It wants to do something.
- 14:26SPEAKER_00: Now, this isn't necessarily going to be about making some big,
- 14:29SPEAKER_00: dramatic decision five minutes after something unexpected happens, right?
- 14:34SPEAKER_00: Because Mars is in Cancer.
- 14:36SPEAKER_00: And Mars in Cancer is not nearly so impulsive as it is when it's,
- 14:42SPEAKER_00: say, in a fire sign or something.
- 14:43SPEAKER_00: Mars in Cancer wants to take more deliberate, Planned actions.
- 14:49SPEAKER_00: So you don't have to jump to respond immediately here.
- 14:53SPEAKER_00: In fact, during an eclipse, it's best if you don't.
- 14:56SPEAKER_00: But it does empower you to make whatever adjustments you need to make.
- 15:01SPEAKER_00: You can respond thoughtfully and with care.
- 15:03SPEAKER_00: You can handle what comes up.
- 15:05SPEAKER_00: It's like, okay, this is where the situation is now.
- 15:09SPEAKER_00: I can see that.
- 15:11SPEAKER_00: Now what needs to be done next, right?
- 15:13SPEAKER_00: You can feel empowered here.
- 15:15SPEAKER_00: Now,
- 15:16SPEAKER_00: another thing I think we have to discuss in relation to this eclipse is that This is
- 15:22SPEAKER_00: the final Pisces eclipse in the series
- 15:25SPEAKER_00: of Virgo Pisces eclipses we've been experiencing over the last couple of years.
- 15:30SPEAKER_00: So, you know, no eclipse is really ever a single isolated event.
- 15:36SPEAKER_00: The nodes shift onto an axis and then we experience a series of eclipses
- 15:42SPEAKER_00: in those two signs over about two years.
- 15:45SPEAKER_00: So August 28th isn't just a single isolated event.
- 15:51SPEAKER_00: You may find that you understand this eclipse a lot better if you look at the entire series.
- 15:57SPEAKER_00: So to do that,
- 15:58SPEAKER_00: you can find Pisces in your birth chart and think
- 16:01SPEAKER_00: about what it is that's been changing in this part of your life over the last couple
- 16:05SPEAKER_00: of years.
- 16:07SPEAKER_00: Each eclipse or eclipse season tends to shift a personal story of yours incrementally each time.
- 16:16SPEAKER_00: Some of those might have felt like bigger events than others,
- 16:19SPEAKER_00: like if you lost your job around one of them or something.
- 16:23SPEAKER_00: Or maybe they were all more subtle than that.
- 16:25SPEAKER_00: But in either case,
- 16:27SPEAKER_00: you can look at that part of your life over the last couple of years
- 16:31SPEAKER_00: and really think about how this part of your life has evolved since September
- 16:36SPEAKER_00: of 2024, because that's when we had the first eclipse in Pisces.
- 16:40SPEAKER_00: We don't necessarily experience just one enormous event every time an eclipse happens.
- 16:47SPEAKER_00: Now as the last one of these,
- 16:49SPEAKER_00: many of us may get the sense that this eclipse is trying to offer us some kind
- 16:55SPEAKER_00: of resolution.
- 16:56SPEAKER_00: It's like something kind of wants to finish, at least for now.
- 17:02SPEAKER_00: You know, and that doesn't mean that this part of your life will never again experience changes.
- 17:07SPEAKER_00: You know, of course we know that's not true.
- 17:09SPEAKER_00: It's just that this particular storyline wants to settle down a bit for now.
- 17:15SPEAKER_00: So that you can focus on other things.
- 17:17SPEAKER_00: And probably those things will be the parts of your life that are ruled by Leo
- 17:20SPEAKER_00: and Aquarius because that's where the nodes have now shifted.
- 17:25SPEAKER_00: And you can pick up a new Virgo Pisces storyline in nine years or so when
- 17:31SPEAKER_00: the nodes hit those signs again.
- 17:34SPEAKER_00: Now,
- 17:35SPEAKER_00: another thing we typically would look at for any eclipse is what planet rules it
- 17:42SPEAKER_00: and what it is doing in the sky.
- 17:43SPEAKER_00: So in this case, Jupiter gives us more clues here.
- 17:47SPEAKER_00: Jupiter is the traditional planet.
- 17:49SPEAKER_00: Ruler of Pisces.
- 17:51SPEAKER_00: And Jupiter is currently in Leo, another thing we've talked about a lot lately.
- 17:56SPEAKER_00: So this is another thing you'll want to do
- 17:59SPEAKER_00: for this eclipse is pull up your natal chart or your transit chart and find
- 18:03SPEAKER_00: the house where Leo is.
- 18:05SPEAKER_00: Because there may be some relationship between what's happening in the Pisces part
- 18:09SPEAKER_00: of your chart and whatever Jupiter is currently expanding or developing in Leo.
- 18:17SPEAKER_00: That kind of tells you how you can tie the story together right now.
- 18:22SPEAKER_00: And you can also,
- 18:23SPEAKER_00: by the way,
- 18:24SPEAKER_00: look at where your natal Jupiter is in your chart because
- 18:27SPEAKER_00: while transit Jupiter tells you about how things are coming together right now,
- 18:33SPEAKER_00: the Jupiter in your natal chart tells you
- 18:36SPEAKER_00: where this eclipse might be stirring up long-term things related
- 18:40SPEAKER_00: to like overarching life lessons or tasks.
- 18:45SPEAKER_00: And this is where I want I want to actually go ahead and give you some real life examples.
- 18:50SPEAKER_00: I want to give you a couple of examples using real charts.
- 18:53SPEAKER_00: One of them is mine, again, and one is someone else's.
- 18:57SPEAKER_00: And if you want to actually see the charts,
- 19:00SPEAKER_00: you can go to the show notes and there are links that will take you to
- 19:03SPEAKER_00: the Substack page for this episode where the charts will be.
- 19:07SPEAKER_00: So in my own transit chart, I'm a Libra rising, so Pisces rules my sixth house.
- 19:14SPEAKER_00: And the sixth house describes work,
- 19:16SPEAKER_00: responsibilities, routines, and basically all the workings of everyday life.
- 19:24SPEAKER_00: And if I look backward across this Pisces eclipse cycle,
- 19:27SPEAKER_00: that area of my life has changed enormously in two years' time.
- 19:32SPEAKER_00: And now I'm
- 19:52SPEAKER_00: My kids have moved out of the house,
- 19:54SPEAKER_00: which changes the structure of my everyday life again, right?
- 19:57SPEAKER_00: All of this started in the fall of 2024,
- 20:01SPEAKER_00: around the time of the first Pisces eclipse,
- 20:04SPEAKER_00: when my older child moved away to school.
- 20:06SPEAKER_00: That most certainly changed day-to-day life and responsibilities,
- 20:11SPEAKER_00: even though I still had one child left at home.
- 20:14SPEAKER_00: But one leaves, and the dynamics change considerably.
- 20:19SPEAKER_00: And now,
- 20:20SPEAKER_00: with the last Pisces eclipse,
- 20:21SPEAKER_00: my younger one has just left,
- 20:23SPEAKER_00: and daily life is changing on an even bigger level, a massive level, really.
- 20:29SPEAKER_00: And so these are the two bookends of this Pisces story.
- 20:33SPEAKER_00: So when I look at Pisces in my sixth house,
- 20:35SPEAKER_00: I don't have to search very hard to pick on what's been happening here.
- 20:40SPEAKER_00: It's already been happening this entire time.
- 20:44SPEAKER_00: But now let's look at what else is happening in my chart.
- 20:48SPEAKER_00: This is a North Node eclipse, and the North Node has just moved into my fifth house.
- 20:54SPEAKER_00: The fifth house rules not just developments around children, right?
- 20:59SPEAKER_00: This is what I've been talking about in some of my prior posts.
- 21:02SPEAKER_00: But importantly,
- 21:04SPEAKER_00: it also rules our creativity and the projects and the things we make and put out
- 21:10SPEAKER_00: into the world, which I am focusing on a lot right now.
- 21:14SPEAKER_00: I have this podcast.
- 21:16SPEAKER_00: I have my Substack.
- 21:17SPEAKER_00: I have my one-on-one readings and coaching.
- 21:20SPEAKER_00: And this is all very fifth house stuff that I'm shifting all of this new time
- 21:26SPEAKER_00: and energy on now because my daily schedule has freed up so much.
- 21:31SPEAKER_00: Now, meanwhile,
- 21:32SPEAKER_00: if we look at Jupiter, again,
- 21:35SPEAKER_00: the traditional ruler of this eclipse,
- 21:38SPEAKER_00: because it's the traditional ruler of Pisces,
- 21:40SPEAKER_00: it's moving through Leo and my 11th house.
- 21:43SPEAKER_00: The 11th house is associated with audiences,
- 21:46SPEAKER_00: communities, networks, and our aspirations for the future.
- 21:51SPEAKER_00: So all of these parts of my life right now being activated, these aren't necessarily separate.
- 21:58SPEAKER_00: My work and everyday life are changing, sixth house.
- 22:01SPEAKER_00: So as a result, I'm putting more energy into my creative work, fifth house.
- 22:07SPEAKER_00: And part of that work for me involves building an audience and reaching
- 22:11SPEAKER_00: and really building a community of people, 11th house.
- 22:16SPEAKER_00: So that's how the sky is shaping or reflecting my current circumstances.
- 22:24SPEAKER_00: Now, if we want to look To my natal chart,
- 22:28SPEAKER_00: if we want to look at how this eclipse might be impacting the longer arc of my life
- 22:32SPEAKER_00: through the lens of this natal chart,
- 22:34SPEAKER_00: I have Jupiter conjunct my midheaven,
- 22:37SPEAKER_00: one of the most important career points in the chart,
- 22:40SPEAKER_00: which makes that Jupiter connection especially interesting for me,
- 22:44SPEAKER_00: especially in the context of the other things that I just described.
- 22:47SPEAKER_00: It's like all the dots are kind of connecting here and moving me in a certain direction.
- 22:54SPEAKER_00: Now, I want to take a look at another chart and this is also a Libra rising chart
- 23:00SPEAKER_00: and I've done it this way before where I've used two charts with
- 23:03SPEAKER_00: the same rising sign to kind of make a similar point and I chose this one
- 23:08SPEAKER_00: because I think it's a really good example.
- 23:10SPEAKER_00: So, uh,
- 23:30SPEAKER_00: If you want to look at this chart,
- 23:31SPEAKER_00: again, it's on the Substack page linked in the show notes, or you can just listen.
- 23:36SPEAKER_00: I think the points kind of stand for themselves.
- 23:38SPEAKER_00: But I'm looking at the chart of a young person who has just moved away to college
- 23:43SPEAKER_00: for the first time.
- 23:44SPEAKER_00: Now, you know,
- 23:45SPEAKER_00: of course,
- 23:45SPEAKER_00: I know lots of young people in my life right now
- 23:48SPEAKER_00: who are doing this very thing right now.
- 23:50SPEAKER_00: They're all headed out because I know lots of kids around the same age.
- 23:53SPEAKER_00: They're all headed out or have just headed out and are moving on to their next steps.
- 23:58SPEAKER_00: But since this young person is also a Libra rising, Pisces is also activating their sixth house.
- 24:06SPEAKER_00: But think about what the sixth house looks like in this person's life, right?
- 24:12SPEAKER_00: Going away to college.
- 24:14SPEAKER_00: Their entire daily routine has just changed.
- 24:17SPEAKER_00: Everything changed.
- 24:19SPEAKER_00: Where they live has changed.
- 24:20SPEAKER_00: Where they sleep has changed.
- 24:22SPEAKER_00: Where they wake up has changed.
- 24:24SPEAKER_00: Where they eat has changed.
- 24:26SPEAKER_00: What they eat has changed.
- 24:28SPEAKER_00: What they're responsible for on any given day changed.
- 24:32SPEAKER_00: Where they go every day.
- 24:34SPEAKER_00: Changed.
- 24:35SPEAKER_00: The people they talk to and that they're surrounded by, changed.
- 24:40SPEAKER_00: How they manage their own time, certainly changed.
- 24:43SPEAKER_00: What they're doing all these things without their parents involved.
- 24:46SPEAKER_00: You know, what their workload looks like, changed.
- 24:49SPEAKER_00: College is not high school.
- 24:51SPEAKER_00: Very different.
- 24:53SPEAKER_00: So everything about the ordinary structure of daily life is completely different all at once.
- 25:01SPEAKER_00: But again, this is a North Node eclipse.
- 25:03SPEAKER_00: And of course, the North Node is also moving through their fifth house, just like it is mine.
- 25:10SPEAKER_00: And it just so happens that this person is a collegiate athlete.
- 25:15SPEAKER_00: Now, one of the things that the fifth house describes is play, recreation, and sports.
- 25:21SPEAKER_00: Sports fall into the fifth house.
- 25:23SPEAKER_00: Sports are a fifth house thing.
- 25:25SPEAKER_00: So this person is now spending a substantial portion of their everyday life,
- 25:31SPEAKER_00: sixth house, playing a sport, fifth house.
- 25:35SPEAKER_00: Many hours a day, every day of the week are being spent on the sport.
- 25:40SPEAKER_00: Meanwhile,
- 25:41SPEAKER_00: on the other side of this nodal axis,
- 25:44SPEAKER_00: Jupiter,
- 25:45SPEAKER_00: the traditional eclipse ruler, is moving through Leo and this person's 11th house.
- 25:50SPEAKER_00: Again, just like it is for me.
- 25:53SPEAKER_00: Lots going on here too.
- 25:55SPEAKER_00: All of it tied together as part of the same situation instead of circumstances.
- 25:59SPEAKER_00: This is someone who had a lot of very close,
- 26:02SPEAKER_00: established relationships, very supportive group of friends at home.
- 26:08SPEAKER_00: And the South Node is in the 11th house, so this can be about letting go, right?
- 26:12SPEAKER_00: Now, of course,
- 26:13SPEAKER_00: they haven't literally lost those friendships,
- 26:17SPEAKER_00: but they've had to leave that community behind in terms of everyday life for now.
- 26:23SPEAKER_00: They've had to release that for now in order to lean in to that fifth house, North Node.
- 26:30SPEAKER_00: And now they're entering an entirely new social world.
- 26:34SPEAKER_00: That Jupiter, the Eclipse ruler, is there and wants to expand a new community.
- 26:40SPEAKER_00: They're meeting new friends,
- 26:43SPEAKER_00: getting to know new teammates,
- 26:46SPEAKER_00: building a new community,
- 26:47SPEAKER_00: finding new groups of people, expanding a new social world.
- 26:53SPEAKER_00: Now, if we consider the natal chart itself,
- 26:56SPEAKER_00: you know,
- 26:56SPEAKER_00: in this person's natal chart,
- 26:59SPEAKER_00: natal Jupiter is conjunct the IC,
- 27:02SPEAKER_00: the angle associated with home, family, roots, and our emotional foundations.
- 27:08SPEAKER_00: Now the IC is most certainly being activated in real life too.
- 27:12SPEAKER_00: They have quite literally left their home of origin and are beginning the process
- 27:17SPEAKER_00: of putting down roots somewhere else, learning to expand somewhere else.
- 27:24SPEAKER_00: So this would naturally be a time of focusing on that basic foundation of life,
- 27:29SPEAKER_00: your foundations,
- 27:31SPEAKER_00: and bringing into question ideas about what does home mean to me now?
- 27:39SPEAKER_00: Look how different these stories are.
- 27:41SPEAKER_00: Same rising sign,
- 27:42SPEAKER_00: which means that the eclipse and the nodal axis and Jupiter are all falling into
- 27:46SPEAKER_00: the same houses for both people, but they signal completely different circumstances.
- 27:52SPEAKER_00: The symbolism does make perfect sense in both charts, but the energy is showing up differently.
- 27:58SPEAKER_00: So this is where astrology is so individualized and so nuanced.
- 28:03SPEAKER_00: You can't really just say that,
- 28:05SPEAKER_00: you know, okay, here's a Pisces eclipse in the sixth house and immediately...
- 28:10SPEAKER_00: Think it's going to be one specific event that's going to happen, right?
- 28:14SPEAKER_00: The house just tells us where there's a story unfolding.
- 28:18SPEAKER_00: That's it.
- 28:18SPEAKER_00: Not what, but where.
- 28:21SPEAKER_00: Your actual life tells us what that story is actually going to look like in the real world.
- 28:29SPEAKER_00: But I also want to be clear here,
- 28:31SPEAKER_00: we still don't know exactly what this eclipse means for anyone,
- 28:35SPEAKER_00: including either of these two charts, not just yet, right?
- 28:39SPEAKER_00: As I'm recording this, the eclipse hasn't happened yet.
- 28:43SPEAKER_00: So these examples aren't necessarily telling us what the eclipse caused, right?
- 28:47SPEAKER_00: They could be showing us the terrain that's already being activated during this eclipse season.
- 28:54SPEAKER_00: We can sort of see where and what this series of eclipses over the past couple
- 28:58SPEAKER_00: of years has been working on
- 28:59SPEAKER_00: and what stories have been unfolding already incrementally.
- 29:03SPEAKER_00: But this next eclipse coming up may bring yet another development.
- 29:08SPEAKER_00: Could be something sudden that shifts right away.
- 29:13SPEAKER_00: Or we may look back later and realize that its significance was part of
- 29:20SPEAKER_00: a whole larger sequence of changes
- 29:24SPEAKER_00: that were already underway throughout this whole general time period.
- 29:28SPEAKER_00: Okay, in terms of how to prepare for an eclipse, you really don't have to do anything.
- 29:34SPEAKER_00: We don't prepare for eclipses, not really.
- 29:37SPEAKER_00: We just rest into them.
- 29:39SPEAKER_00: We stay open-minded.
- 29:41SPEAKER_00: We stay flexible.
- 29:42SPEAKER_00: We expect the unexpected, for sure.
- 29:46SPEAKER_00: We take good care of ourselves and our people, and we just let them unfold.
- 29:50SPEAKER_00: We flow.
- 29:52SPEAKER_00: You know, stories unfold in their own time without being forced.
- 29:57SPEAKER_00: I have to remind myself of that all the time.
- 30:01SPEAKER_00: And I do so with varying degrees of success, trust me.
- 30:04SPEAKER_00: I have a fair amount of Virgo in my chart.
- 30:07SPEAKER_00: So more than many of you, I still need that reminder.
- 30:10SPEAKER_00: And if you do too, I see you.
- 30:12SPEAKER_00: I feel you.
- 30:14SPEAKER_00: Okay, that is all for now, everyone.
- 30:16SPEAKER_00: Remember that if you want to hear from me more or work with me more,
- 30:20SPEAKER_00: you can find me on Substack or you can visit my Stand Store,
- 30:23SPEAKER_00: both of which are linked in the notes.
- 30:26SPEAKER_00: If you'd like to sign up for a moon circle or register
- 30:29SPEAKER_00: for my September workshop called The Moon and Your Nervous System,
- 30:33SPEAKER_00: Understanding Your Emotional Wiring, those are available through the Stand Store.
- 30:38SPEAKER_00: Okay, that's all for now, everyone.
- 30:40SPEAKER_00: Happy eclipsing.
- 30:41SPEAKER_00: Hope you are enjoying the start of Virgo season.
- 30:44SPEAKER_00: Take care for now, and I'll see you next time.
